- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to a DM podcast.
- 0:03Speaker 2: We'll try to keep it as nice as we can,
- 0:05Speaker 2: but you might hear the occasional swear word in No Dribble.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Don't tell them hello, and welcome to No Dribble. The
- 0:23Speaker 2: morning after the weekend that was Team Girls Cup. What
- 0:26Speaker 2: a massive weekend, so massive in fact, that we are
- 0:29Speaker 2: scattered all around the country. I'm in my usual place
- 0:32Speaker 2: in Sydney.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Cath Cox is in radu Lay.
- 0:39Speaker 2: And sounding like you have worked hard with those vocal
- 0:42Speaker 2: cords this weekend.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Yeah, they're a lot better than they were last night.
- 0:45Speaker 4: I'm sure you, but it might be a little Patchy'll
- 0:47Speaker 4: do my best.
- 0:48Speaker 2: And the third of the Holy trend is where she
- 0:50Speaker 2: always is or no what at home? Not where she
- 0:53Speaker 2: always is, where she always wants to be anyway.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Yeah, Liz Elis, I'm head home today, but that's not
- 0:58Speaker 1: going to last.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Okay, what are you doing?
- 1:02Speaker 1: We're after tomorrow. I'm going to Sydney for a couple
- 1:05Speaker 1: of days. Yeah, I know. The winner is as you
- 1:10Speaker 1: said that, Coxi, I was like, when you said you're
- 1:12Speaker 1: in Adelaide, I was like, well, that just puts my
- 1:14Speaker 1: idea of popping up to your place tomorrow afternoon, just
- 1:16Speaker 1: gone out the window.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Doesn't it.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I still might. I'll just let myself in and make
- 1:20Speaker 1: a cup of tea and make a mess and leave
- 1:22Speaker 1: its do it everything.
- 1:27Speaker 4: I can't guarantee you there's any food in the fridge,
- 1:29Speaker 4: but there will be wine in the fridge.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Still a girlfriend needs I'm me tomorrow and then Melbourne
- 1:33Speaker 1: on Wednesday afternoon, and I'm doing the project on Wednesday today.
- 1:37Speaker 2: You're not doing that as frequently this year, are you?
- 1:40Speaker 4: No?
- 1:40Speaker 1: I decided to pull back instead of doing it every week,
- 1:43Speaker 1: which nearly killed me last year with the Netball Australia stuff.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I just thought, just for this year, I'm just going
- 1:48Speaker 1: to fill in when they need me. So I'm filling
- 1:50Speaker 1: into on Wednesdays, and which is good. I still get
- 1:53Speaker 1: to keep my feet, little fingies in that little pie
- 1:56Speaker 1: because I love doing the project. It's so much fun
- 1:59Speaker 1: and the people are really great people. So and you know,
- 2:02Speaker 1: sometimes when I do it, especially when I get to
- 2:05Speaker 1: like do the actual hosting, like in the middle seats
- 2:08Speaker 1: and I have to read the news headlines, I have
- 2:10Speaker 1: a little voice in my head going, you're a newsreader.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Look how grown up you are?
- 2:20Speaker 1: Come rah?
- 2:21Speaker 3: No?
- 2:22Speaker 1: Progend. No, I do love it though. It's fun. So
- 2:24Speaker 1: that'll be me Wednesday night and they'll be home next
- 2:26Speaker 1: on Thursday.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Well, I've had a huge weekend trying to get the
- 2:30Speaker 2: tip in camp ready to go, so by the time
- 2:32Speaker 2: this episode goes to air, my stress levels hopefully will
- 2:35Speaker 2: have reduced. But I thought of you too so often
- 2:38Speaker 2: in the past week when I've been talking to these
- 2:41Speaker 2: incredibly helpful techy men, but who keep saying things like
- 2:45Speaker 2: we just need to sort out your back end, and
- 2:48Speaker 2: I have to keep a straight face.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I've been trying to sort my back.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, but my weekend not clearly not anywhere near
- 2:59Speaker 2: as big as you yours, cat, and you know we're
- 3:01Speaker 2: clearly going to talk about a lot of netball. But
- 3:03Speaker 2: you had a good time in Adelaide.
- 3:05Speaker 3: It has been a huge four days. Wear my hat?
- 3:08Speaker 3: What day is it?
- 3:09Speaker 2: Who am?
- 3:10Speaker 3: But so much good netball.
- 3:12Speaker 4: I think the toughest thing for everybody though, was getting
- 3:15Speaker 4: through Saturday. It was thirty nine degrees here. The stadium
- 3:20Speaker 4: had air conditioning, but everybody kept saying it's not going
- 3:24Speaker 4: to last. The power is really temperamental in netball essay stadium,
- 3:29Speaker 4: so it wasn't really doing anything.
- 3:31Speaker 3: It got a little cooler as the.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Day went on, and we realized that they had turned
- 3:34Speaker 4: off all the periphery lights in the place, trying to
- 3:38Speaker 4: be a wow, but it was disgusting. Like I said
- 3:41Speaker 4: to Bianca Chatfield, I had to do because we had
- 3:44Speaker 4: eight games on the Saturday, so I had to call
- 3:47Speaker 4: for But after I had done my two, Bianc had
- 3:50Speaker 4: to sit in the same chair and I left the swampy.
- 3:54Speaker 3: It was a little bit of bus.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Where Yeah, so we had to get a little tower
- 3:58Speaker 4: situation happening on the chair for her. But yeah, it
- 4:01Speaker 4: was hot and the players were doing exceptionally well to
- 4:04Speaker 4: get through it. I spoke to Liz Watson on Sunday.
- 4:07Speaker 4: She said before they started play on Saturday, she was
- 4:10Speaker 4: actually seeing stars. She was thinking, how the hell are
- 4:12Speaker 4: we going to get through this? Because it was really hot,
- 4:15Speaker 4: and plus they had so much netball to play. But
- 4:18Speaker 4: it was impressive. You would never know looking at the
- 4:20Speaker 4: quality of netball that it had been a massive weekend
- 4:23Speaker 4: for all the athletes.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Kat One thing that struck me is I sort of
- 4:26Speaker 1: caught bits and pieces on Ko and then as I
- 4:29Speaker 1: was looking through the results, I feel like, this is
- 4:31Speaker 1: going to be a really close Season's.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Exciting, isn't it.
- 4:34Speaker 4: It is looking really exciting, and it's really like, as
- 4:37Speaker 4: we spoke about in the lead up, it's hard to
- 4:39Speaker 4: tell from pre season because everybody's on load management, so
- 4:42Speaker 4: some of your most experience you're probably going to see
- 4:45Speaker 4: week in week out once the season starts. Weren't playing
- 4:47Speaker 4: a whole heap, which means you got all your young
- 4:49Speaker 4: kids on court. But I'll tell you what, there's some
- 4:53Speaker 4: impressive athletes in those groups, and it's a shame there's
- 4:57Speaker 4: not enough room for them in the teams to have
- 4:59Speaker 4: bigger squad to be able to see them more regularly.
- 5:02Speaker 4: But to see them on the court was unreal. It
- 5:03Speaker 4: was so good across the weekend, and I think that's
- 5:06Speaker 4: you know where a lot of the games kind of
- 5:08Speaker 4: evened out. But even the Grand Final, we couldn't tip
- 5:11Speaker 4: who was going to win.
- 5:12Speaker 3: It was really hard to tip who was going to
- 5:14Speaker 3: win any of the games at any given time.
- 5:16Speaker 1: It looked like it was a really good atmosphere for
- 5:18Speaker 1: the Grand Final too.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Yeah, well, they scheduled it really well and that the
- 5:21Speaker 4: Adelaide Thunderbirds were the last team to play each of
- 5:23Speaker 4: the sessions, so it meant that the crowds had enough
- 5:27Speaker 4: time to get there after work or you know, whatever
- 5:30Speaker 4: they had on on the weekend that the crowd yesterday
- 5:33Speaker 4: was so loud in that Grand Final, you couldn't hear
- 5:37Speaker 4: them at all in.
- 5:38Speaker 3: The first half when the Thunderbirds were down, they were
- 5:40Speaker 3: quiet there.
- 5:41Speaker 4: But then you could like, and the floor is really
- 5:44Speaker 4: well sprung in Adelaide's every time the crowd went.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Blistering our TV monitors a shaker back.
- 5:50Speaker 2: And forth, and watching that on Foxtel, I was getting
- 5:52Speaker 2: that too, So every so often it was like the
- 5:54Speaker 2: Blair Witch project was for about five seconds and then
- 5:57Speaker 2: it was stay wise.
- 6:00Speaker 3: When the went it's a whole play shook. It was unreal.
- 6:02Speaker 1: So cats the teams were allowed to have twelve players,
- 6:05Speaker 1: weren't they for Team Girls Cup.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Most of them took fourteen to fifteen with them, but
- 6:10Speaker 4: they had to announce at twelve before each of the games,
- 6:14Speaker 4: so you get your team sheet and then you'd be
- 6:15Speaker 4: going trying to work out who wasn't there and who
- 6:18Speaker 4: was there, and so we didn't see much of you know,
- 6:20Speaker 4: some of the older players that were on what's Courtney
- 6:23Speaker 4: Brooks where was she? She was she played while did
- 6:26Speaker 4: she happen?
- 6:27Speaker 3: Still?
- 6:27Speaker 4: Yeah, still part of just rehabbing and load management and
- 6:31Speaker 4: all of that. But we saw Shamira Stelling, Humphrey in
- 6:33Speaker 4: and out, Ak and George in and out, Susi and
- 6:35Speaker 4: Glasgow in and out, Joe Hart and the same. So
- 6:38Speaker 4: there was a lot of rotation of the let's say
- 6:40Speaker 4: more experienced.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Older knees hate. The MAVs did exceptionally well, and it
- 6:45Speaker 2: wasn't a case of them only playing their big guns
- 6:48Speaker 2: and you know the rest of the teams playing some
- 6:51Speaker 2: of the fresher legs. It's like they had a number
- 6:53Speaker 2: of their big guns off the court and they did
- 6:56Speaker 2: so well.
- 6:57Speaker 4: The MAVs were exciting to watch. One point, I think
- 7:01Speaker 4: it was the Giants game. Amy Parmenti got sent for court.
- 7:04Speaker 4: She got suspended for two minutes while she was off
- 7:07Speaker 4: for two minutes, so they're a player down. They actually
- 7:10Speaker 4: had their best punch to play. I think they scored
- 7:12Speaker 4: two to zip or three to zip in that period
- 7:15Speaker 4: of time. But yeah, you're right, no card well, no Djovic,
- 7:18Speaker 4: Sasha Glasgow was in her in and out. No Lauren Moore,
- 7:22Speaker 4: now Lauren Parkinson, So to think that they played so
- 7:26Speaker 4: well they ended up coming in fourth and winning some
- 7:29Speaker 4: of those great games far out. They're going to be
- 7:32Speaker 4: a force to be reckoned with this season once they
- 7:34Speaker 4: get their big guns back.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Absolutely. Amy Parmenter had a cracking tournament.
- 7:38Speaker 3: She was unbelievable and she was playing more in the center,
- 7:41Speaker 3: which I really liked her there.
- 7:43Speaker 4: That suspension wasn't larranted at all. I think she'd just
- 7:46Speaker 4: been involved in a future.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:48Speaker 2: That was the kind of mulative punishment type thing, was it.
- 7:50Speaker 2: It's like an attitude of yeah, it's strange.
- 7:53Speaker 4: I think she because she was involved in three big
- 7:56Speaker 4: hits before, none of which were her fault, but she
- 7:58Speaker 4: ended up flat on her back. One was almost the
- 8:01Speaker 4: nail in the coffin. I think the umpire's like, well,
- 8:03Speaker 4: this is this maybe her? Then she the common denominator
- 8:06Speaker 4: and all of this. I think it was unfair. She
- 8:08Speaker 4: went for the ball. You could see she tried to
- 8:09Speaker 4: pull out, but it was too late. Anyway, it was
- 8:12Speaker 4: a two minute suspension, which was exacting.
- 8:14Speaker 2: It's my style of parenting, though you know a number
- 8:16Speaker 2: of minor infractions. At some point, I just get to
- 8:18Speaker 2: my limit and it's like Goddy.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Ring yeah, exactly, For.
- 8:25Speaker 1: That was the beauty of having toddlers. When they couldn't
- 8:27Speaker 1: tell the time. You'd send them off to their room
- 8:29Speaker 1: for two minutes, and you give yourself twenty minutes in peace.
- 8:32Speaker 1: How long was that?
- 8:32Speaker 4: There?
- 8:33Speaker 1: They come two minutes in? I mean, daddy sometimes anyway,
- 8:38Speaker 1: doesn't matter what Daddy tells me about time. That was
- 8:40Speaker 1: just going to go to somewhere really bad.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Daddy's not the Daddy's the meat train now Isnaddy's new
- 8:45Speaker 4: nick may.
- 8:48Speaker 1: The trey tells me that two minutes is twenty minutes.
- 8:50Speaker 4: But anyway, on Adelaide, though, the dribblers the coolest people.
- 8:54Speaker 4: I had so many of them come and say hello.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Some of them yelled out to me and thought that
- 8:58Speaker 4: I didn't give them a nuts and have been a
- 9:00Speaker 4: bit cranky since.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Talking about Well, I've.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Seen the message and I think it's a little harsh, frankly,
- 9:06Speaker 2: but dead to me really at the end of dirty
- 9:10Speaker 2: days of commentary.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Yeah, anyway, and.
- 9:13Speaker 1: To those people who sent that message, we've all been
- 9:15Speaker 1: brushed by Catherine different points about.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Live But let's talk about the future and the chocolate
- 9:22Speaker 2: chip biscuits. Let's talk about Let's put some attention to
- 9:27Speaker 2: Alana and her beautiful daughter Darcy, who came over and
- 9:31Speaker 2: gave me a container of homemade chocolate chip.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Wow.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Had a great chat with them. They were there for
- 9:38Speaker 3: the whole three days. Anyway.
- 9:40Speaker 4: I was about to sit down and do commentary, so
- 9:42Speaker 4: I gave the cookies to cat to a Varti to
- 9:44Speaker 4: go and pop.
- 9:44Speaker 3: In our comm's room. There was one left.
- 9:49Speaker 4: By the time I got They're not saying she ate
- 9:51Speaker 4: all of them, but everybody hied into them. And then Deb,
- 9:54Speaker 4: lovely Deb found me and gave me a ginormous bag
- 9:57Speaker 4: of fruit chocks. Fantastic, and they were gone pretty quickly
- 10:01Speaker 4: after that as well. So thank you dribblers, the welcome
- 10:04Speaker 4: wag so so spoiled, and everybody else that said hello
- 10:07Speaker 4: across the weekend as well.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Yeah you guys.
- 10:10Speaker 2: No, So there's a lot of talk about that you
- 10:13Speaker 2: and Katsa what's her surname should be on commentary together,
- 10:18Speaker 2: But then there's also some suggestions that things could just
- 10:21Speaker 2: go a bit awry if the two of you were
- 10:23Speaker 2: on the same commentary team at the same time. But
- 10:25Speaker 2: I thought maybe we should try to get her in
- 10:26Speaker 2: here sometimes like a laugh.
- 10:28Speaker 4: She's an absolute piss so honestly, and she's she's been.
- 10:32Speaker 4: I was a bit nervous, to be honest when they
- 10:33Speaker 4: first mentioned having her in commentary because she's not I mean,
- 10:37Speaker 4: she's got a filter. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
- 10:39Speaker 4: She'll be the first one to tell you that.
- 10:43Speaker 3: But I love it.
- 10:43Speaker 4: I love it when she lets out the funny little
- 10:45Speaker 4: comments and stuff because it's entertaining.
- 10:47Speaker 3: But her their full brain, bloody good.
- 10:49Speaker 4: To listen to as well, though, Yeah, great, absolutely, so good.
- 10:53Speaker 3: So good. So no, she was, she was great fun.
- 10:55Speaker 3: We had Joe Sutton joining commentary.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Oh wow, yeah, I haven't heard for a while. Former swiftie.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, she's an Adeline Thunderbird.
- 11:04Speaker 1: She played there too, I probably should acknowledge that.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Yep, she was on board.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Caught up with Aaron Bell, who used to play in
- 11:10Speaker 4: Swifts and play with the Thunderbirds as well. She's now
- 11:13Speaker 4: a specialist coach with the Tea Birds, and Jane Oldschwager
- 11:16Speaker 4: caught up with well, who's now the well being person
- 11:18Speaker 4: for the Thunderbirds the Aarswagger.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's that an easy job though. The Thunderbird's well
- 11:23Speaker 2: being looks pretty good to me at the moment. They
- 11:25Speaker 2: look pretty happy.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Actually, well it's not that easy because they just have
- 11:29Speaker 1: to keep Catherine away from Georgie Hawges for her.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Do you know what I get to do tomorrow?
- 11:36Speaker 4: What get weird your field down and interview Georgie for
- 11:42Speaker 4: an hour?
- 11:43Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I'm so excited.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Holds your shit together.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Do you know what I thought i'd do is get
- 11:50Speaker 4: a T shirt with their face printed on it, rock
- 11:52Speaker 4: up with it and goes it's weird.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Follow that instinct and then let us know what happens.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Break her out too much. I'll do my best.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Yeah, Jane will be there. L Swagger were there trying
- 12:04Speaker 1: to say Catherine?
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yeah, Catherine running interference.
- 12:07Speaker 3: That's through back away slope.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I think I might feel about Grace White the way
- 12:11Speaker 2: you feel about Georgie Horges.
- 12:13Speaker 1: She's very good, isn't she?
- 12:15Speaker 2: And I think I've spoke about this after I saw
- 12:17Speaker 2: that Swift's New Zealand game. I just think she's so versatile,
- 12:20Speaker 2: she's amazing. Also, great hair like that. I'd love a
- 12:23Speaker 2: ponytail like that. But kids, once you get to a
- 12:27Speaker 2: certain age, your hair won't grow long anymore.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Yeah, you can get something out of that.
- 12:30Speaker 4: You just need a little bit of hairspray and one
- 12:32Speaker 4: of those funky little brushes they all use, looks like
- 12:35Speaker 4: it's an eyebrow brush.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, slick it. Way back. I didn't get into
- 12:40Speaker 3: that your daughter would be able to do that, not
- 12:42Speaker 3: at the moment.
- 12:43Speaker 1: No, we haven't spoken about that yet before we get
- 12:46Speaker 1: to both of your daughters and the poor parenting that
- 12:49Speaker 1: involved and getting too that. There we go, yeah, there
- 12:51Speaker 1: we go. I only say that. Well, I'll tell you
- 12:52Speaker 1: why I say that soon. I hate to bring it
- 12:55Speaker 1: back to Nettie chat, but Catherine, of all the players
- 12:58Speaker 1: that you saw on the weekend, who sit outside, you know,
- 13:01Speaker 1: the big names that we all know, who did you go,
- 13:04Speaker 1: Oh my god, I reckon By this time next year,
- 13:08Speaker 1: she's going to be she's going to be really pushing.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Like the World Cup coming up in two years. There's
- 13:14Speaker 1: always like you know, now, if you're going to make
- 13:16Speaker 1: a run for it as a young player, now's your time.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Who did like? Who did you sort of as you
- 13:24Speaker 1: were going through on the weekend and who popped out
- 13:27Speaker 1: in you and you went, yeah, like I was looking
- 13:29Speaker 1: at some stuff about the Fever shooters it live Olivia
- 13:33Speaker 1: Olivia Wilkinson, Yeah, one hundred and ninety centimeters. I was like, jeepers,
- 13:38Speaker 1: where do they find they keep fighting these these giants?
- 13:41Speaker 2: Where are all of these incredibly tall young women coming from?
- 13:46Speaker 4: Do you know Olivia Wilkinson is going to be an
- 13:49Speaker 4: absolute gun? So obviously Fever's lost fowl in Mr Right
- 13:52Speaker 4: huge shoes to feel. They pull in Cam Wenda to
- 13:55Speaker 4: fill that role.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I don't reckon him. Wenda's going to get it. It's
- 13:58Speaker 3: going to be Wilkinson.
- 14:00Speaker 4: I think that they need her a bit of goal
- 14:02Speaker 4: attack as well. But she was so good. She's twenty one,
- 14:06Speaker 4: She's going to be around for a long time. Everybody
- 14:09Speaker 4: says that she plays a lot like I do.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I was about to say, I think that's what
- 14:13Speaker 2: Anne Beaton was saying in commentary, wasn't it.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 14:15Speaker 4: And Dordy's have been saying it forever since she's been
- 14:18Speaker 4: in that environment.
- 14:19Speaker 3: But she's much She's way better than I ever.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Was she have an Alice band?
- 14:24Speaker 3: No? No, no, she's got a nice slick ponytail. She's
- 14:27Speaker 3: a gun.
- 14:27Speaker 4: But do you know he really impressed me. The Giants
- 14:29Speaker 4: permanent replacement player. They brought in Hope White to cover
- 14:34Speaker 4: Gina Crampton and she was fantastic on the weekend. I
- 14:37Speaker 4: really liked what she's done for the Giants too. So
- 14:40Speaker 4: and she's.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Nineteen, I think, isn't that Yeah, just awesome?
- 14:46Speaker 3: Many guns. Great to see Christy Anna Mano, We're back.
- 14:49Speaker 3: We mentioned her. She came filled in for the MAVs
- 14:51Speaker 3: and she'll be awesome, so exciting.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I would really love to see Unique Polavi be announced
- 14:57Speaker 2: to see eleventh player for the MAVs. I think that
- 14:59Speaker 2: she did a great job last year for the Swifts
- 15:01Speaker 2: and on the weekend was really good and I have
- 15:03Speaker 2: all fingers and toes crossed for her. And now I
- 15:05Speaker 2: say that not knowing actually who else might be the
- 15:08Speaker 2: candidate for that, and not being able to make a
- 15:11Speaker 2: reasonable expert assessment. But that's what this podcast is about
- 15:15Speaker 2: me say shit, I don't know anything about but I
- 15:18Speaker 2: just thought she looked great. I would really love to
- 15:20Speaker 2: see her get a go this year. Yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Absolutely, She's a gud. She's got so much flair to
- 15:26Speaker 3: our love.
- 15:26Speaker 4: She pulls out little tricks and off the post around
- 15:29Speaker 4: the backs.
- 15:29Speaker 1: And actually I'd like to see Kat Tuolvati commentate Unique
- 15:33Speaker 1: p Lavi because like when I watch you need. It's yeah,
- 15:38Speaker 1: it's like seeing It's like seeing Kat and I played
- 15:41Speaker 1: against KT and you just spend your whole time going
- 15:44Speaker 1: I don't know how the ball got there. I don't
- 15:45Speaker 1: know what she did.
- 15:50Speaker 4: He speaking of people speaking of wins, Oh, I want
- 15:54Speaker 4: to talk about twins. We'll come back to that, but
- 15:57Speaker 4: just on this, speaking of people you played against Lizzella's
- 16:00Speaker 4: I've got a message on our No Dribble Instagram page
- 16:04Speaker 4: basically started by saying, love the podcast so much. A
- 16:08Speaker 4: little worrying when I'm out for my walk around the
- 16:10Speaker 4: lake or whatever and I'm actually laughing out loud and people.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Are looking at me weird.
- 16:14Speaker 4: I think you and Liz needs to talk more about
- 16:18Speaker 4: the memories of playing against my mum and New Zealand
- 16:23Speaker 4: and the rivalry. And I remember back at the World
- 16:27Speaker 4: Cup where Liz and my mom were stuck doing drunk testing.
- 16:31Speaker 4: They were the last ones left because they couldn't go
- 16:34Speaker 4: to the toilet.
- 16:34Speaker 1: I daughter.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Wasn't.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Wasn't Bianco van Dyke, Oh I wasn't.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Oh my god, she is speaking of twin. She's the
- 16:47Speaker 1: twin of her mother. Like Bianca and Irene Bloody, Irene
- 16:50Speaker 1: post photos of them both and I'm like, Irene looks
- 16:53Speaker 1: a iron, looks way too good for our age, and
- 16:57Speaker 1: b they are so alike, aren't they. Oh yeah, you
- 17:00Speaker 1: know that drug testing was the worst, so oh no,
- 17:05Speaker 1: actually that wasn't that one. I got drug tested after
- 17:07Speaker 1: the nineteen ninety nine World Cup Grand Final and it
- 17:12Speaker 1: was me and Benice Meni, because we've both been goalkeepers.
- 17:15Speaker 1: They were devastated, and I say that in a key
- 17:20Speaker 1: devastated because that was like going into that World Cup,
- 17:24Speaker 1: they were the form team everyone was like there was
- 17:26Speaker 1: in New Zealand. They were absolutely like so odds on
- 17:32Speaker 1: to win it, and we came back from six or
- 17:34Speaker 1: seven goals down at three quarter time to win. And
- 17:38Speaker 1: I just remember walking in and Benice was the captain
- 17:41Speaker 1: and she just looked so stricken, and you know, I
- 17:44Speaker 1: was like, you know, I have no filter, so I'm
- 17:46Speaker 1: going and going right, and then I saw her and
- 17:48Speaker 1: went like room shut it down because I adore her.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I think she's an amazing player and an amazing human.
- 17:56Speaker 1: And happily I'm always fairly well hydrated because I drink
- 17:59Speaker 1: like a fisher in games. So I just did my
- 18:00Speaker 1: drug test and got out and she was still in there,
- 18:02Speaker 1: and I thought after losing a game like that and
- 18:04Speaker 1: then taking missing the bottle, that pits. But oh wow,
- 18:09Speaker 1: so Bianca van Dye listens to this podcast.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Yeah, she said, you need to get mom on so
- 18:15Speaker 4: we can we can chat New Zealand rivalry.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I was like, mate, I have been asking for that
- 18:20Speaker 2: for quite some time, because, as you know I have,
- 18:23Speaker 2: I'm quite a girl crush on Irene Van Dyke, and
- 18:25Speaker 2: I'm hoping to use this podcast so I can further
- 18:29Speaker 2: my I don't know what I'm talking about. I've been
- 18:32Speaker 2: wanting to use this podcast so I can meet people
- 18:34Speaker 2: who I idolize. So come on, get with it, Carol.
- 18:37Speaker 1: There is a pattern. Yeah, there is a pattern of
- 18:39Speaker 1: behavior here, right. You sponsored clinics back in the day
- 18:43Speaker 1: so that you could meet Katherine and I and then
- 18:44Speaker 1: we thought you just wanted to do a podcasts, you know,
- 18:47Speaker 1: to talk more with us, But no, so you can
- 18:49Speaker 1: use us to get to like famous.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Irene Van Dyke. Yeah, okay, you've actually got to the
- 18:53Speaker 2: bottom of it. This has been a twenty year plan
- 18:58Speaker 2: and soon my plan will come.
- 18:59Speaker 1: To the wish ha ha ha.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Who else is on the list?
- 19:02Speaker 4: Then?
- 19:02Speaker 3: Though, Irene vandyqu else.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I don't know basically anyone who I've ever admired is
- 19:07Speaker 2: on the list. Okay, so we'll just just keep up, all.
- 19:10Speaker 4: Right, take notes, Irene Bianca, We're coming for you.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Brace yourself absolutely.
- 19:16Speaker 2: But so we were talking about twins, then I want
- 19:18Speaker 2: to talk about Team Girls Cup sisters, sisters, sisters. Everywhere
- 19:21Speaker 2: there are sisters playing netball at the moment. So I
- 19:24Speaker 2: sent a note to Julie s Laiger, who does listen
- 19:26Speaker 2: to this podcast, but I didn't hear back from her
- 19:28Speaker 2: because at one stage in that game between the Giants
- 19:31Speaker 2: and the Lightning, Nat and amynt nameI sorry, Amy, who
- 19:36Speaker 2: came and sat in here with us, Nat name a
- 19:38Speaker 2: head to head wing and tackling defense. And I sent
- 19:40Speaker 2: a note to Julie saying, what do you do with that?
- 19:43Speaker 2: As a parent, like, I can understand, you know, the
- 19:45Speaker 2: whole game is tough, but it's like you actually want
- 19:47Speaker 2: your kids to do well individually, and it was so great.
- 19:51Speaker 4: I loved it. Jans Yeah, true, Sorry. They are the
- 19:57Speaker 4: only sisters on different teams. So the are sisters both
- 20:01Speaker 4: with West Coast, Cransburg's both with West Coast, and Hinchliff
- 20:04Speaker 4: both with Sunshine Coast Lightning, So that does make it
- 20:07Speaker 4: a little trickier when they're in the same team and
- 20:09Speaker 4: they're twins and they come on.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Yes, hang on a minute, I'm today years old. When
- 20:15Speaker 2: I found out that there's more than one Hinchliff on the.
- 20:18Speaker 3: On the line literally right now, literally.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Right this second. Yeah, because I thought it was those
- 20:25Speaker 2: two and then I thought all the other sisters are
- 20:27Speaker 2: in the West, but no, So Tara's in the contract
- 20:31Speaker 2: of ten Maddie and Schliff is their eleventh player for
- 20:35Speaker 2: the Sunshine Coast Lightning and she plays more across the
- 20:37Speaker 2: mid mid course center winder fans. There you go, all right,
- 20:40Speaker 2: just got smarter. Yeah, that was amazing. It was so
- 20:45Speaker 2: good to see Kat. You put a photo on Instagram
- 20:49Speaker 2: when you got to your hotel where you are staying
- 20:51Speaker 2: for five days of your own coffee cup. Oh you
- 20:55Speaker 2: travel with?
- 20:56Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 20:56Speaker 2: Well do you always do this? Nah?
- 20:58Speaker 4: Nah, I don't because it's a normal normally in a
- 21:00Speaker 4: hotel for half a second, we do a game, you
- 21:03Speaker 4: go to bed, you leave at the crack of dawn.
- 21:04Speaker 4: But I thought, if I'm here for five days, I'm
- 21:07Speaker 4: not using a pissy little hotel cup which drives me banal.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Yeah, those little white ones. Yeah, yeah, you just.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Want a big cup of tea in the morning, and
- 21:14Speaker 4: those things you got to make them like three times
- 21:16Speaker 4: to get your feet. So I thought, no, bringing my
- 21:18Speaker 4: own packing for five days. May have thrown a bottle
- 21:21Speaker 4: of wine in my bag as well. Don't judge me.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I don't sell wine in Adelaide.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Yeah. I was about to say, you took wine to Adelaide.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Only because I knew I was getting late and then
- 21:32Speaker 4: I would be coming home late from Neddie every day.
- 21:35Speaker 4: So I thought, if I just wanted to have a
- 21:36Speaker 4: little tipple, I'll just I'll bring one with me.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Here's a question for you, though, right, So hotel wine
- 21:42Speaker 1: glasses under tourist crash. Right, So do you if you're
- 21:46Speaker 1: going to go to the effort of taking a coffee
- 21:49Speaker 1: cup or a tea cup, should you also pack a
- 21:51Speaker 1: wine glass?
- 21:52Speaker 3: No, I just brought a straw.
- 21:56Speaker 2: You did. They're like thimbles, don't they.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Yeahses, it's a thick glass that bothers me.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't like it. So when we traveled around
- 22:06Speaker 1: Australia in the caravan, I went and found these champagne problems. Really,
- 22:10Speaker 1: it is, but there's solutions. Right, So when we travel
- 22:13Speaker 1: run astray, we'll go in to go on some rough roads.
- 22:15Speaker 1: So I absolutely combed the interwebs, and I found these
- 22:19Speaker 1: little things at Bunning's, these little boxes with foam sides,
- 22:22Speaker 1: and you can set them up so they've got like
- 22:25Speaker 1: you can have the box or a quarter the box.
- 22:27Speaker 1: So I bought a couple of boxes and put them
- 22:28Speaker 1: one inside the other, and then I have the quarter
- 22:32Speaker 1: of the box, and I put in wine glasses and
- 22:35Speaker 1: we went the whole troop and we did not smash
- 22:37Speaker 1: a glass. And they was the writer, is it the
- 22:39Speaker 1: right el? Readel? How do you say it?
- 22:41Speaker 2: I don't knowses I say ride el like in Greece?
- 22:45Speaker 1: Yes, Sandy, So yeah, so I did that.
- 22:50Speaker 2: I'm more Rizzo.
- 22:54Speaker 3: We all are.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Because the Hikey from Kinnicki is like a wholemark cards
- 23:00Speaker 1: enough to send.
- 23:00Speaker 3: The very best.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Here's a question for you. When can I I get
- 23:04Speaker 1: I watched that with my daughter.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Not now, no, no, you watch this. I saw it
- 23:10Speaker 2: when it came out in the cinema in seven I
- 23:12Speaker 2: think it was seventy seven, seventy seven, and I was
- 23:15Speaker 2: a kid, like I was seven. I loved it. This fabulous,
- 23:17Speaker 2: cute little romance, high school, everybody singing, and you watch
- 23:21Speaker 2: it as an adult, you're, oh, miss that, miss that,
- 23:23Speaker 2: Oh you missed that entire storyline.
- 23:26Speaker 3: That Yes, I watch it, but.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Dirty dancing is in the It's in the title, though,
- 23:32Speaker 2: isn't it like it's dirty dancing.
- 23:34Speaker 3: It's not going to be you know, just that all
- 23:36Speaker 3: the other stuff that goes on.
- 23:37Speaker 4: You're like, oh, I didn't realize any of that was
- 23:39Speaker 4: taking place when I think I watched this the first time.
- 23:42Speaker 1: That anyway, because nobody puts baby in a corner AnyWho.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Watermelon, I don't know.
- 23:47Speaker 2: So So, Liz, you took the rye el glasses all
- 23:54Speaker 2: down Australia and did break them.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Did not break them? So and there is a way
- 23:57Speaker 1: to do this. So I think you need to actually.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Take the Alice span box. Yeah, take the Ali spand out, yes,
- 24:04Speaker 2: and then fill it with more important things. Well, I
- 24:07Speaker 2: would like to hear from the dribblers put it. Tell
- 24:09Speaker 2: us on Instagram or on Facebook. What are things that
- 24:12Speaker 2: you travel with that you can't travel without? Like, give
- 24:15Speaker 2: us some tips, like what are we doing? What are
- 24:17Speaker 2: we traveling? I always go overseas with a little tube
- 24:19Speaker 2: of vegemite.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Oh, I do like the paste tubes of vegimi.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Yeah, because I just I don't like a sweet breakfast,
- 24:27Speaker 2: and quite often, particularly if you're traveling in Asia, you
- 24:29Speaker 2: can really only get a sweet breakfast. So I just
- 24:31Speaker 2: like something that's a little bit more savory. So I
- 24:34Speaker 2: travel with vegimite like some type of tragic Australian who
- 24:37Speaker 2: can never leave the shores.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Oh that's a classic.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I don't.
- 24:40Speaker 4: I don't have anything else that I necessarily has to
- 24:43Speaker 4: travel with. But it was just the teacup on this occasion.
- 24:48Speaker 4: On that Over the course of the weekend, we've been
- 24:50Speaker 4: drinking a shit ton of coffee, obviously because it's been
- 24:53Speaker 4: a big weekend, and then this whole discussion came up
- 24:57Speaker 4: around people's coffee orders and if you can tell a
- 25:00Speaker 4: lot about a person by their coffee order, because they
- 25:03Speaker 4: were so vastly different. Anyway, yesterday I posted a photo
- 25:08Speaker 4: because I'd gone and got coffees for people and I
- 25:10Speaker 4: was carrying four of them. Somebody had zoomed in and
- 25:13Speaker 4: read the top of the lids and said, oh my god,
- 25:17Speaker 4: who's drinking the moka? Have a guess who on our
- 25:21Speaker 4: commentary team was drinking a mocha. Yeah, it's a head
- 25:25Speaker 4: scratcher anyway, I wrote back, it's actually kat to a
- 25:27Speaker 4: Varti and she said, oh, oh my god. I thought
- 25:31Speaker 4: she was one of the good ones.
- 25:33Speaker 1: So hard do you know. I went through a phase
- 25:38Speaker 1: of drinking macadamia and oat milk, and then a couple
- 25:41Speaker 1: of years ago just went Bugaret, I'm just going back
- 25:43Speaker 1: to cow's milk. And because I'm married to not only
- 25:45Speaker 1: a farmer, but he's the son of a jerry farmer,
- 25:47Speaker 1: so he has banned the use of any other He.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Had a dusty Springfield song.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Yes, that's right, son of a farmer man. Right, So
- 25:55Speaker 1: in our house, you know, I had to say oat
- 25:56Speaker 1: milk or macadamia milk. You can say oat juice or
- 26:00Speaker 1: nut juice, but you cannot fair enough to get very
- 26:02Speaker 1: nut juice. They don't have nipples, this is true, you
- 26:07Speaker 1: can't milk them right, and nut juice, well, Catherine, get
- 26:11Speaker 1: your limit, get your head out of other people's pants.
- 26:17Speaker 3: No.
- 26:17Speaker 2: So this is We're watching the NRL yesterday afternoon and
- 26:20Speaker 2: the commentators were saying they're really having some trouble with
- 26:23Speaker 2: sweaty balls out there.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Sweaty balls and nut juice. That's why you come to
- 26:29Speaker 1: this podcast. So and so the story I'm telling is
- 26:33Speaker 1: nowhere near as interesting as well I've just been. But
- 26:35Speaker 1: I have just gone back to just just having a
- 26:37Speaker 1: flat white, right, plain cow's milk, all the fat. You know,
- 26:40Speaker 1: when you're particularly environ around here, if you order a
- 26:43Speaker 1: flat white, they look at you like you've missed something.
- 26:45Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, like they want some funky stuff. But the
- 26:48Speaker 4: three of us all do have normal coffee orders.
- 26:51Speaker 2: We ordered this of no drippleli Isabeth.
- 26:54Speaker 4: That's no one's to get funky milekle like half strength
- 26:59Speaker 4: the coffee.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Things interesting. I did an article. I did a story
- 27:02Speaker 2: for Sunday Life magazine about I don't know, seven or
- 27:05Speaker 2: eight years ago, and I had to be a vegan
- 27:07Speaker 2: for two weeks. But I couldn't tell anyone that I
- 27:09Speaker 2: was a vegan. I just had to go vegan with that,
- 27:12Speaker 2: because you know that joke, how do you know you're
- 27:13Speaker 2: in the room with a vegan? So is it possible
- 27:17Speaker 2: to be a vegan for two weeks without having to
- 27:20Speaker 2: actually declare at some stage I'm a vegan? Or do
- 27:23Speaker 2: you have any vegan options? So I for two weeks,
- 27:25Speaker 2: I did the whole I didn't wear any I didn't
- 27:28Speaker 2: wear any animal products, no, no leather, no nothing. I
- 27:32Speaker 2: didn't have. And I could get through absolutely everything except coffee,
- 27:37Speaker 2: because I was ordering black coffee, and people go, that's
- 27:40Speaker 2: not your usual coffee order, like people have. If you
- 27:43Speaker 2: change your coffee order, people think you're about to I
- 27:46Speaker 2: don't know, leave your marriage or something, that it's some
- 27:48Speaker 2: type of early indicator of a breakdown. So it was
- 27:52Speaker 2: interesting in the two weeks, no one asked me anything.
- 27:55Speaker 2: And I will say, in defense of vegans who just
- 27:58Speaker 2: want to tread lightly on the planet, it's hard to
- 28:01Speaker 2: not have to say at some stage, I'm a vegan,
- 28:04Speaker 2: Do you have any options? Does this have dairy in it?
- 28:07Speaker 2: You know, you think about all of the animal products
- 28:09Speaker 2: that go into everything.
- 28:10Speaker 4: So you know, hello, our wonderful producer, and he's in
- 28:13Speaker 4: the studio with you right now. Every time I bring
- 28:16Speaker 4: snacks in, I bring snacks for the three of us,
- 28:18Speaker 4: and every time she has to remind me she's vegan,
- 28:21Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, okay, Well that she.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Was particularly interested in your theory that when Dave Hughes
- 28:27Speaker 2: fifteen years vegan, had to eat balls penis that that's
- 28:30Speaker 2: okay because it's not really meat. It's like pretty sure
- 28:33Speaker 2: the ball would think it is.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Are we getting back to sweaty balls again?
- 28:39Speaker 3: Full circle moment?
- 28:40Speaker 2: We do have to talk about poor parenting though.
- 28:43Speaker 1: We do. We do, Actually we do, you too. You
- 28:46Speaker 1: go first.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Well, you're the one who's got accusations to make.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Well, Catherine, we know that Harper fell off a flowing
- 28:52Speaker 1: fox and has broken her arm.
- 28:55Speaker 4: She has, and I was there, like, I didn't throw
- 28:59Speaker 4: her off the flying she slipped and fell, but at
- 29:02Speaker 4: the time she did apparently scream and yell out mum,
- 29:05Speaker 4: And I didn't hear it the first time because I
- 29:07Speaker 4: was on my phone.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Well, Park wasn't so boring, we wouldn't have to look
- 29:14Speaker 2: at our phones.
- 29:15Speaker 4: And now I know it was another mum that came
- 29:17Speaker 4: over and goes, oh, your daughter's Is that your daughter
- 29:19Speaker 4: screaming over there? And I went, oh god, Oh, I
- 29:22Speaker 4: was so deep in my phone that I didn't hear it.
- 29:26Speaker 4: That's why I've started reading I need to put my
- 29:28Speaker 4: phone down.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Oh.
- 29:30Speaker 4: That was a bit of a wake up call for
- 29:31Speaker 4: me and the fact that I'm wasting too much time
- 29:33Speaker 4: lately on TikTok. I'm like, nah, putting this thing down anyway.
- 29:37Speaker 2: So that was three weeks ago.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Three weeks yes, And then do you decide you wanted
- 29:42Speaker 3: to follow suits? Did you in your house?
- 29:44Speaker 2: You know, whatever you do, cav, I want to do
- 29:47Speaker 2: so yes. So last week, so not yet a week ago,
- 29:50Speaker 2: I'm home and I hear this blood piercing scream from
- 29:53Speaker 2: the land room, and then Dot comes in. She'd been
- 29:55Speaker 2: practicing aerial cartwheels. Put a hand down, which is not
- 29:58Speaker 2: an uncommon this is not an unco an injury, but
- 30:00Speaker 2: oh god, it was gross. You know that scene in
- 30:02Speaker 2: Harry Potter where like all the bones are out of it,
- 30:04Speaker 2: they lose all their bones, And that was her arm
- 30:07Speaker 2: and she comes and sort of waves it in front
- 30:09Speaker 2: of me, and I thought, well, that's fine, We'll just
- 30:12Speaker 2: get an adult to deal with this. And then I thought, shit,
- 30:15Speaker 2: I'm the adult here at the moment. I have to
- 30:17Speaker 2: deal with this. Yeah, so, poor little things, she's in
- 30:20Speaker 2: a bad way. We didn't have we haven't yet had
- 30:22Speaker 2: to have surgery. We may have to, they said, initially, yep,
- 30:25Speaker 2: surgery tomorrow. And then the emergency team did such a
- 30:28Speaker 2: good job of sort of getting it back into position
- 30:31Speaker 2: before they put the temporary cast on. That the surgeon's
- 30:33Speaker 2: now saying, we don't know, and it's like, oh, imagine
- 30:36Speaker 2: having the skills to do something like that. That is incredible.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 30:41Speaker 4: So she's got a backslab like a cast, not a
- 30:45Speaker 4: perfect one.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Yeah. So she's in the old plaster of Paris one,
- 30:48Speaker 2: so it's hot and heavy, but she did. She was
- 30:51Speaker 2: under some fairly heavy gity and aesthetic, this sort of
- 30:54Speaker 2: pephanine pen that they the paramedics have, And that's funny.
- 30:58Speaker 2: What well, first of all, she sort of starts looking around,
- 31:02Speaker 2: the eyes of rolling back in her head, and I
- 31:04Speaker 2: could see when it was starting to kick in, because
- 31:06Speaker 2: she's just giving me these demonic smiles. But then she
- 31:09Speaker 2: sort of comes to it one stage and says, who
- 31:11Speaker 2: the heck are you? And I said, I'm mama, And
- 31:14Speaker 2: then I thought I was saying to the doctor, I'm
- 31:16Speaker 2: amazed that there was no language, and then the language
- 31:19Speaker 2: came and she was, you know, she is her mother's daughter.
- 31:22Speaker 2: I'm so proud she's able to use it properly. But
- 31:24Speaker 2: she drops an f bymo for you, and I said
- 31:26Speaker 2: I'm mama, and she said you're not my mama. You're
- 31:29Speaker 2: too pretty to be my mother, which is an insult
- 31:33Speaker 2: and a compliment at exact one at the same time. Yeah.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Also, that's what was coming out of her mouth. That's
- 31:40Speaker 3: a circle.
- 31:41Speaker 2: It was hilarious. Yeah. Yeah, But I'm just going to
- 31:44Speaker 2: give a shout out to the Wise Clinic Walking Specialist
- 31:47Speaker 2: Emergency and at Macquarie there's one on the Gold Coast.
- 31:50Speaker 2: They were bloody amazing. Could not be happier with the
- 31:52Speaker 2: care that we got. Thank you.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Oh wow, I'm glad that things are going well. I
- 31:56Speaker 1: will say there was a bit of a flurry of
- 31:58Speaker 1: WhatsApp messages last week after Dot broke her arm telling
- 32:02Speaker 1: me to wrap Evelyn in cotton wools. So absolutely I
- 32:04Speaker 1: did exactly that by sending her off to plane and
- 32:06Speaker 1: their ball carnival yesterday at Mullumbimbi and she fell over
- 32:10Speaker 1: and took all the skin off her elbow. I'm like,
- 32:12Speaker 1: oh my god, so so yeah, So look, I just
- 32:17Speaker 1: wanted to put your poor parenting into some perspective. So
- 32:19Speaker 1: when Evelyn was three, her and I were on the
- 32:22Speaker 1: trampoline after dinner one evening in summer and she used
- 32:27Speaker 1: to love it. When I used to double bounce her.
- 32:29Speaker 1: So you know, you double bounce skin and they go
- 32:31Speaker 1: really high, and you know she kept higher Mammy Hiley, Yeah, yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 1: because I have no sense of danger. So I double
- 32:39Speaker 1: bounces and I thought, oh, she's gone a bit high.
- 32:42Speaker 1: I thought, you know, like all the decisions, all the
- 32:45Speaker 1: things that go through your mind. I thought at the time,
- 32:46Speaker 1: I won't grab her because that might I might grab
- 32:48Speaker 1: me in the wrong spot and hurt her. Kids know
- 32:50Speaker 1: how to land. Am I on a trampoline? What could
- 32:52Speaker 1: go wrong? So she's three, in a little purple fairy
- 32:56Speaker 1: outfit and she puts her hands down and I hear
- 32:59Speaker 1: this god awful sap. It's the worst out and then silence.
- 33:05Speaker 1: And then after about three seconds she rolled over and
- 33:09Speaker 1: the scream that you heard Carolyn out of Dot's mouth
- 33:11Speaker 1: came out of her mouth. And I was like, oh,
- 33:15Speaker 1: mabew was running up, so he was washing up, running
- 33:20Speaker 1: out and aah. So we grabbed a packet of frozen peas,
- 33:25Speaker 1: and the whole thing just showed me just like she
- 33:27Speaker 1: I swear to God, she was born forty. So we
- 33:30Speaker 1: put the frozen peas on her arm, and she was screaming,
- 33:33Speaker 1: and we put her in the car and we had
- 33:34Speaker 1: to go to liz Moore Base Hospital and I said,
- 33:36Speaker 1: I'm going to have to hold her, and she's no, no,
- 33:39Speaker 1: I have to put my seatbelt on. I have to
- 33:41Speaker 1: be in my seat. Oh my god. So we get
- 33:44Speaker 1: to lise More Base Hospital. She gets to the pie
- 33:50Speaker 1: killing stuff and so she just she opens up the
- 33:52Speaker 1: frozen peas. After she was at the hospital, she starts
- 33:55Speaker 1: to eat the peas one by one and then she
- 33:56Speaker 1: sort of right, she goes right. So we get this
- 34:00Speaker 1: cast on. And then a few weeks later we were
- 34:03Speaker 1: in Sydney and she picked up this virus and it
- 34:06Speaker 1: was a virus where she would throw up and then
- 34:10Speaker 1: pass out. And we were down staying Olympic Park was awful.
- 34:14Speaker 1: So she had this cast on and little blonde, you know,
- 34:17Speaker 1: angelic looking girl. And I said to Matthew, I don't
- 34:20Speaker 1: like this, and I don't know if she's getting it.
- 34:22Speaker 1: You know, you think, oh my god, is it meningitis?
- 34:24Speaker 4: Is it? This?
- 34:25Speaker 3: Is it?
- 34:25Speaker 1: That we're not right? I'm going to go to Concorde Hospital.
- 34:27Speaker 1: So go to Concorde Hospital's a Saturday night, get there
- 34:29Speaker 1: at about eleven o'clock and we walk in and she's
- 34:32Speaker 1: got a cast on and what's wrong? So we tell
- 34:35Speaker 1: her and then at some point they go to a
- 34:39Speaker 1: oh what did you do to your arm? She goes,
- 34:41Speaker 1: mummy broke it. So you can imagine what that triggered.
- 34:48Speaker 1: So we get taken out of the room, she gets
- 34:50Speaker 1: spoken to. They asked me what happened. They marry up
- 34:53Speaker 1: our stories. They speak to Matthew. So it was the
- 34:57Speaker 1: worst hour of my life because I thought I get
- 35:00Speaker 1: these like, I totally understood why they were doing it. Yeah,
- 35:03Speaker 1: because kids tell the truth. I'm like, I didn't pray.
- 35:06Speaker 1: It is double bad stuff.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Oh God, and how bad would you have been feeling this?
- 35:10Speaker 2: I'm not abusive, I'm just irresponsible.
- 35:14Speaker 1: She just an think things through, okay, And it doesn't
- 35:17Speaker 1: make me a bad mother. It wasn't the worst hour
- 35:19Speaker 1: of my life. But she picked up there that that
- 35:21Speaker 1: was a funny thing to say because everyone just went
- 35:24Speaker 1: But so she still tells people I broke her arm. Anyway,
- 35:27Speaker 1: The next time she broke her arm was her fault.
- 35:29Speaker 1: I took her and a brother out for a bike
- 35:31Speaker 1: ride during the pandemic, just around our farm, like on
- 35:34Speaker 1: the roads around our farm, and he stopped and she
- 35:36Speaker 1: had the whole road to herself, and it never occurred
- 35:38Speaker 1: to it to swerve around him when he stopped, and
- 35:39Speaker 1: she just ran on the back of him and then
- 35:42Speaker 1: lands and rolls over like she was ten, and she goes,
- 35:45Speaker 1: my arm, is it working? And I'm like, oh, I
- 35:47Speaker 1: know how this goes. So I made the ambulance and
- 35:49Speaker 1: here we go again, and off we go to lose
- 35:50Speaker 1: little based hospital. So yeah, she's done it. Both don't
- 35:53Speaker 1: feel bad?
- 35:54Speaker 3: Was it the same arm?
- 35:55Speaker 1: Not different?
- 35:56Speaker 3: I'm oh, god, okay.
- 35:58Speaker 1: And she tests them out regularly time she plays netball
- 36:01Speaker 1: because she's got my disease where she can't play netball
- 36:03Speaker 1: carnival without falling on her ass at some point.
- 36:05Speaker 3: So, but also playing rugby.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Holy cow, yeah that's true. So AnyWho, look, don't beat
- 36:10Speaker 1: yourself up, you two, that's my job.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Well, let me tell you something that will make both
- 36:14Speaker 2: of you feel better. And I have done no validation
- 36:17Speaker 2: of this information, by the way, I just saw it
- 36:19Speaker 2: on Facebook and thought that's interesting. Woman by the name
- 36:22Speaker 2: of Valentina Vassilieva is in the Guinness Book of Records
- 36:25Speaker 2: for having the most children, sixty nine children from Sudia
- 36:32Speaker 2: in Russia. Sixteen sets of twins, seven sets of triplets,
- 36:36Speaker 2: four sets of quads.
- 36:37Speaker 3: So I'm going to throw this out there.
- 36:39Speaker 4: By the time you're having your fiftieth onwards, you not
- 36:41Speaker 4: even feeling that come out?
- 36:43Speaker 2: Well, but how about her husband leaves her alone, like
- 36:46Speaker 2: for God's sake, imagine how tired that poor woman has
- 36:49Speaker 2: no contraceptive back then in Russia. So I don't know
- 36:51Speaker 2: whether there's contracept in Russia.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Probably I don't know what to do with that.
- 36:57Speaker 2: No, it's shocking, isn't it.
- 36:59Speaker 3: I'm doing my velvit flaw exercises though.
- 37:01Speaker 1: That's a good up.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Now I am too one. I did dribblers. Let's all
- 37:05Speaker 2: do our pelvic floor muscle exercises. Let me talk to
- 37:07Speaker 2: you about some of the fabulous work of the dribblers
- 37:10Speaker 2: on the weekend, especially Daryl Milton, who come to the
- 37:13Speaker 2: end of day one of the Team Girls Cup, he
- 37:18Speaker 2: couldn't find the stats that he wanted already done by
- 37:22Speaker 2: any of the official sources, so he made his own.
- 37:24Speaker 2: He made his ladder with the four and against and
- 37:26Speaker 2: then did it. Did it as an overall ladder, did
- 37:28Speaker 2: it split into the two pools. I loved it. It was
- 37:31Speaker 2: so good. There was such a service to humanity. Thank you.
- 37:34Speaker 3: And I saw that and I used it. I needed it.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 37:37Speaker 1: There you go a good Does that make him Fox
- 37:40Speaker 1: Sports Darryl Milton, Yeah, he's now an official statian.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it's fantastic status. Love it statistician. So we do.
- 37:49Speaker 2: By the time this goes to air, we will have
- 37:51Speaker 2: open registrations for the Valor Dribbler's Tipping comp so it
- 37:55Speaker 2: doesn't start until the season starts. So if you have
- 37:58Speaker 2: not registered, go to No dribbled Au and in the
- 38:01Speaker 2: menu up the top you'll see Tipping comp. Jump on
- 38:03Speaker 2: there and register. We now know obviously that the grand
- 38:06Speaker 2: prize is the night with us, right, I mean you
- 38:09Speaker 2: know it's not like Pretty Woman, So we'll go out
- 38:13Speaker 2: together and then everyone will go to their separate it so, oh,
- 38:15Speaker 2: look like it. I can't speak for anyone else. So
- 38:17Speaker 2: if things get on, everyone has a good time to
- 38:19Speaker 2: do whatever you will, as long as it's consenting adults.
- 38:21Speaker 2: But it is not an offer for that. It is
- 38:23Speaker 2: an evening of fun with us the night before the
- 38:26Speaker 2: Grand Final in Melbourne. Really looking forward to it. The
- 38:28Speaker 2: prize of includes a prepaid travel voucher. Now We've done
- 38:33Speaker 2: it that way because we know that dribblers who are
- 38:36Speaker 2: participating in the tipping comp, many of them will want
- 38:39Speaker 2: to be going to the Grand Final, so they will
- 38:41Speaker 2: have made their plans already. So what we wanted it
- 38:43Speaker 2: to be is if you haven't made plans, you can
- 38:46Speaker 2: get down there, but if you have made plans that
- 38:48Speaker 2: you can use that prize anyway. So it's exciting. Get
- 38:51Speaker 2: on board if you haven't, because it's gone to be
- 38:53Speaker 2: fun and we've got great prizes from our friends at
- 38:56Speaker 2: Valor who are sponsoring this wonderful tiping comp.
- 38:58Speaker 4: Well, and don't forget the first one hundred in the
- 39:01Speaker 4: running for that sign Thunderbirds dress.
- 39:04Speaker 2: I would say by Wednesday, this will that will be done.
- 39:07Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a lot of asking questions about it. Okay,
- 39:12Speaker 4: here's a quick one for you too. Thinking ahead. The
- 39:14Speaker 4: first game of the season is the Grand Final rematch.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Who are you picking? God?
- 39:20Speaker 2: After the weekend, you'd have to go teabirds, wouldn't it.
- 39:23Speaker 2: But I think the vixens were foxing. I don't think
- 39:26Speaker 2: we saw the vixens do their best.
- 39:28Speaker 3: I see what he did there with the foxing, Well done?
- 39:30Speaker 2: Thank you?
- 39:30Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 39:32Speaker 1: Yeah, Well I didn't even get that. I'm trying to
- 39:34Speaker 1: think about it.
- 39:34Speaker 4: I'll see, we're in all sorts already. We'll have to
- 39:39Speaker 4: make sure that one of us does something different though
- 39:40Speaker 4: every week. We can't all do the same. We can't
- 39:42Speaker 4: be copycats.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Is this the official tip?
- 39:45Speaker 3: Okay? All right?
- 39:46Speaker 2: What did I say? I said Thunderbirds?
- 39:47Speaker 1: Okay, well yeah, well yeah, we all know that Catherine's
- 39:50Speaker 1: going to go Thunderbirds because you know her and Georgie.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Well, if George is not playing, am not tip in them?
- 39:57Speaker 3: We'll see the week before.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll go Vixens just for you know, something different
- 40:01Speaker 1: then otherwise you're right already, we can't all go the same.
- 40:06Speaker 1: That's ridiculous.
- 40:08Speaker 2: It's going to be hard for me to watch because
- 40:10Speaker 2: I think I'll be in London that week. Don't know,
- 40:13Speaker 2: I can't remember where i'll be, but yeah, I'll still
- 40:16Speaker 2: be tuning in though.
- 40:16Speaker 3: And you're still talking to us every week, which is important.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, going to stay up late. I'm hoping Liz,
- 40:22Speaker 2: you'll appreciate this because on the way in in the
- 40:24Speaker 2: car singing quite a number of show tunes. I've found
- 40:26Speaker 2: a bar in London called The Room where it happens,
- 40:29Speaker 2: which is a piano bar where they do all show
- 40:32Speaker 2: tunes and it's like, how fun does that sound? But
- 40:36Speaker 2: I'm worried because it's so I don't know if I
- 40:38Speaker 2: know enough of the words. This sounds like a competitive
- 40:40Speaker 2: thing to me. So yeah, but that sounds fun.
- 40:43Speaker 1: And for those who haven't seen Hamilton, that is a
- 40:45Speaker 1: line from Hamilton, or it's a song from Happened Hamilton.
- 40:48Speaker 2: I want to be in the room where it happens.
- 40:50Speaker 2: We watched Wicked on the weekend. I'm the last person
- 40:52Speaker 2: on the planet to see it. But really good.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Yeah it's good. It's long though, isn't it.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Yeah it is long. Yeah, there's a bit of fat
- 40:59Speaker 2: in there. I reckon it could have been could have
- 41:01Speaker 2: been edited.
- 41:04Speaker 3: Do you remember our trip in London? We went to
- 41:07Speaker 3: Jamie Oliver's restaurant and then the cute waiter gave us
- 41:12Speaker 3: a tip about a bar. It was some secret bar
- 41:16Speaker 3: key or something we needed.
- 41:18Speaker 1: We needed a password to get in there. So there
- 41:20Speaker 1: was it's a bark ORed Milk and Honey, which is
- 41:22Speaker 1: like a member Zoni club and we had to have
- 41:25Speaker 1: a password to get in, and the cute barman who
- 41:28Speaker 1: you pested and until you realize or you found out
- 41:30Speaker 1: he had a girlfriend. So that was a funny night.
- 41:33Speaker 1: So we actually had got kicked out at Jamie Oliver's
- 41:35Speaker 1: restaurant when the bakers came in for the next morning's baking.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Oh wow, you have.
- 41:43Speaker 1: To go well like yeah, actually good idea. So off
- 41:45Speaker 1: we went to this bar called Milk and Honey, and
- 41:48Speaker 1: there's actually one in New York.
- 41:49Speaker 4: Now I read, not being a door or anything. Took
- 41:56Speaker 4: us a while to find even where we were supposed
- 41:58Speaker 4: to do the secret knock, and then the part didn't yes, and.
- 42:01Speaker 1: The maid of d Jamie Oliver's restaurant had worded up
- 42:03Speaker 1: the made of d this joint and remember where we
- 42:05Speaker 1: went in there and.
- 42:06Speaker 2: A couple of freakishly tall drunk women coming.
- 42:10Speaker 1: There was as there was four or five of us,
- 42:12Speaker 1: I think, right, okay, And then we went into this
- 42:16Speaker 1: bar and do you remember there was a guy in
- 42:19Speaker 1: there who reckoned He wrote he wrote a song this
- 42:22Speaker 1: is why I Take.
- 42:23Speaker 3: You on Trips. Yeah, I can't remember any of the details.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, this was and remember he was he was
- 42:28Speaker 1: pestering us and he was telling us he wrote, it's
- 42:30Speaker 1: party time. Do what you like gonna have a bar
- 42:35Speaker 1: to night, let's have a bo that song. So he reckoned.
- 42:37Speaker 1: He wrote that song and he sort of had enough
- 42:40Speaker 1: what he was saying. I was like, I actually believe him. Anyway.
- 42:42Speaker 1: The Maid of d came and took him to another party,
- 42:44Speaker 1: said he does this all the time. He did write
- 42:46Speaker 1: that song, and he lives off off the royalties and
- 42:49Speaker 1: he just pessed his people that come into I'm like,
- 42:51Speaker 1: oh my god, but it was quite a late song.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Now let's get to annoy me. I know the one anyway, dribblers,
- 42:58Speaker 3: let us know if you can see now.
- 43:00Speaker 1: It's like, I don't remember anyway. You know what I
- 43:05Speaker 1: remember at three o'clock tomorrow morning when my metopause wakes
- 43:08Speaker 1: me up.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Anxious when the bakers come in.
- 43:12Speaker 1: But then do you remember the next day? It might
- 43:15Speaker 1: not have been that trip to London. I was going
- 43:17Speaker 1: to say the next day we had to catch a
- 43:18Speaker 1: train to Paris and it was messy, But I don't
- 43:21Speaker 1: know if it was that day.
- 43:22Speaker 3: No, that was that was a difference for it. We
- 43:24Speaker 3: ended up at some Aussie pub then and we had
- 43:27Speaker 3: Natasha chocolate and Sheron mcmhan far worse for wear that's right, irrational.
- 43:33Speaker 1: So anyway, so I do that. Jamie Oliver dinner was amazing.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Reason first one, wasn't it because now he's got a
- 43:40Speaker 3: few of them Italian, isn't it?
- 43:42Speaker 1: No, I was thirteen because he had thirteen he made
- 43:44Speaker 1: a television show a mat. He had like heap of
- 43:47Speaker 1: apprentices and kids who he sort of plucked out of
- 43:50Speaker 1: pretty working class places and turned them into high quality chefs.
- 43:54Speaker 1: So that was amazing. Yeah, that was That was a
- 43:56Speaker 1: funny night. Oh my god. You know you've been somewhere
- 43:59Speaker 1: too along when the bakers come in.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that is great. Well, we've almost run out
- 44:05Speaker 2: of time, but I do have because I've got my
- 44:07Speaker 2: first nepple training of the new winter season tonight, which
- 44:11Speaker 2: is great because it's landing on the day that the
- 44:13Speaker 2: No Dribble Tipping comp goes live. So what I want
- 44:15Speaker 2: is everything to happen, everything everywhere all But I watched
- 44:19Speaker 2: a lot of the coaches chats on the weekend and
- 44:22Speaker 2: I was I've taken a little bit of inspiration from
- 44:25Speaker 2: Dylan Nexit, who's assistant coach at the Swift's there, so locate,
- 44:28Speaker 2: create and dictate. That's good. I'm going to pretend that's mine.
- 44:32Speaker 2: So if anyone has children in my team and you
- 44:36Speaker 2: hear me say that, please don't undermine the children's faith
- 44:39Speaker 2: and wonder in their coach. Let them let them think
- 44:42Speaker 2: that I know what I'm talking.
- 44:43Speaker 4: You're brave to want to use that, because I feel
- 44:45Speaker 4: like there's far more questions coming from a statement like
- 44:48Speaker 4: that than there would be just them getting on with
- 44:50Speaker 4: the job.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Shout if they have questions, go for a run. Lokate
- 44:55Speaker 2: the ball. Lokate the ball, dictate what create opportunities, take
- 45:00Speaker 2: the space. Kath, have you ever played net But oh
- 45:03Speaker 2: my god, you'd be hard to.
