- 0:09Speaker 2: world ransom for me.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Excuse me while I whipped this.
- 0:14Speaker 4: Out broadcasting live and it leta to a jou.
- 0:18Speaker 3: This this is the Sports Shot Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 0:23Speaker 3: You may free me t come so far comes it
- 0:32Speaker 3: comes to monk?
- 0:33Speaker 1: Is it just.
- 0:38Speaker 3: I'm a doing? Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way
- 0:41Speaker 3: you made Vegan.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Welcome, Welcome, welcome, I mean listening to the Sports Shock Show.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Gandy, Good morning to you
- 0:51Speaker 1: out there listening.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Man.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Glad to be here with you. I know you are excited.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Why it's that time everybody it gets to take the field.
- 1:01Speaker 1: The j E. T. S Jet, the how about them Cowboys?
- 1:07Speaker 1: And the Rise Up, which I'm still not really a
- 1:14Speaker 1: rise up guy. I thought the Dirty Bird Moniker was best.
- 1:22Speaker 1: The rise Up don't really it's I don't even know
- 1:27Speaker 1: what it has to do with Commanders of name. I
- 1:33Speaker 1: just was cool with the old way, the Dirty Bird.
- 1:37Speaker 1: That so much you can do with that, so much
- 1:40Speaker 1: that was done with it effectively. But then Nate, you
- 1:44Speaker 1: know what, Jamal Jamal Anderson must have sent it some
- 1:47Speaker 1: kind of seasons assists order he must have sent something
- 1:52Speaker 1: and told him, look, don't use me. I'm gonna need
- 1:54Speaker 1: five percent of all dirty bird communications.
- 1:57Speaker 3: And they were like, it's not your stuff, and he
- 1:59Speaker 3: was like, anyway, the football season for the NFL preseason
- 2:06Speaker 3: basically week one. They shortened the season. There's only three weeks.
- 2:12Speaker 1: As I have tried to get you to understand or
- 2:15Speaker 1: even last Aaron Rodgers, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback this season,
- 2:20Speaker 1: told you that preseason is not what he views as
- 2:24Speaker 1: real football, a little generic and is one of the
- 2:29Speaker 1: reasons I've never been a big watcher of it, because
- 2:32Speaker 1: once you play it, you realize that there are things
- 2:36Speaker 1: that are being done in a preseason game that has
- 2:39Speaker 1: nothing to do with September.
- 2:41Speaker 3: It's very generic.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Defenses, offensive coordinators, defensive coordinators, special teams. Very few people
- 2:48Speaker 1: are doing what they're actually going to do. They're trying
- 2:53Speaker 1: to find the most base plays to run so that
- 2:57Speaker 1: you don't have anything on tape. Tape watching is very
- 3:02Speaker 1: important in watching and figuring out schemes. So why would
- 3:05Speaker 1: I run and give you four weeks? Why would I
- 3:10Speaker 1: run my real scheme? What's what's going on with your mike?
- 3:14Speaker 1: Because okay, is he.
- 3:15Speaker 3: On on command. You he's sitting over there just kind
- 3:21Speaker 3: of like, I think it's.
- 3:22Speaker 5: Everything's plugged in over here. I don't know what you're
- 3:24Speaker 5: doing now it's the quarterback. I guess I missed my routes.
- 3:37Speaker 5: This will happened when everybody get on the field. I'm
- 3:39Speaker 5: on the bus, somebody that.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Missed the block and then you know what I mean,
- 3:43Speaker 3: I had that right on the numbers.
- 3:46Speaker 1: So what we do see is that the Cleveland Browns,
- 3:50Speaker 1: for however you want to view it, Uh, they have
- 3:54Speaker 1: decided that they are going to start should do Sanders
- 4:00Speaker 1: at least that's what I read about two days ago.
- 4:03Speaker 1: They were going to start him in this preseason game
- 4:04Speaker 1: against Carolina. They've had a lot of quarterback injuries. I
- 4:10Speaker 1: think they even signed a fifth quarterback just to have
- 4:14Speaker 1: some depth as new position. Snoop Huntley, who just won't
- 4:18Speaker 1: go away? You find some way, some kind of way
- 4:23Speaker 1: to get two or three week subjects. Wait now, sir.
- 4:27Speaker 1: A lot of people he.
- 4:28Speaker 3: May not get a full season. A lot of people
- 4:31Speaker 3: called it stick to it. A lot of people called
- 4:33Speaker 3: it consistency and persevered. You say, he just won't go away.
- 4:39Speaker 3: He just annoying. He's just a straight dog NFL.
- 4:43Speaker 1: But in this game Cleveland, that has probably was the
- 4:47Speaker 1: most the biggest story of the draft Shador Sanders where
- 4:52Speaker 1: he would go end up going in the fifth round.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Now with such a deep quarterback room, he will get
- 4:59Speaker 1: to go out on the field. What you're looking for
- 5:02Speaker 1: in your door is organization, not so much of what
- 5:07Speaker 1: the numbers say at the end of the day, but
- 5:09Speaker 1: that you see him getting his team in and out
- 5:13Speaker 1: of a huddle that you know in his time on
- 5:16Speaker 1: the field, there's not a lot of offside or you know,
- 5:22Speaker 1: miss the signments things like that that he can control. Sure,
- 5:26Speaker 1: you want to touch down, you want to go with
- 5:28Speaker 1: a drive, but it's more of seeing does he have
- 5:31Speaker 1: a grasp of the concept of the game, and that's
- 5:36Speaker 1: what he wants to go out and show because he's
- 5:40Speaker 1: going to be out there with a lot of guys
- 5:42Speaker 1: that won't even be on the team in a month,
- 5:45Speaker 1: most likely in this first game. Now next week, that's
- 5:48Speaker 1: when you know, Week two and three, that's when you
- 5:51Speaker 1: start infusing these games with starters. But right now with
- 5:54Speaker 1: your Door, he's trying to at least solidify to be
- 5:59Speaker 1: the third quarterback when all the dust is settled in
- 6:04Speaker 1: this situation. That's job one.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Go ahead. Sportshock. One of our lower listeners, Jared Lloyd,
- 6:09Speaker 3: just comment on Facebook Live and says, where's massage boy?
- 6:15Speaker 3: Massage boy? He said, is he still on the Browns
- 6:19Speaker 3: roster and that would make six QB Deshaun Watson. Yes, yes, he's.
- 6:26Speaker 5: I know the difference between the I R and the
- 6:29Speaker 5: PUP and I mean he's on the roster, but he's
- 6:32Speaker 5: on one of those.
- 6:32Speaker 1: He's one on those lists where I think it limits
- 6:34Speaker 1: him not even to be available for about six to
- 6:38Speaker 1: eight weeks. I would have to see which list he's on.
- 6:40Speaker 3: That sounded like secret and I think that's the put.
- 6:43Speaker 1: But whatever. Remember his contract is guaranteed. That was the
- 6:48Speaker 1: way they wont him away from the Falcons. They guaranteed
- 6:51Speaker 1: his contract, so that's what puts them in trying to
- 6:55Speaker 1: figure out if another team can take him. I know,
- 6:57Speaker 1: last thing I saw about him, he had gotten married,
- 6:59Speaker 1: which is good. He just seems football as as you've
- 7:05Speaker 1: heard me say here with him, those kind of situations
- 7:09Speaker 1: just seem to have dragged and squeeze the football identity
- 7:17Speaker 1: out of him. When you watch him play, he seems
- 7:19Speaker 1: like he's going through the motion that I'm almost kind
- 7:24Speaker 1: of like Maseean Besmoke used to say, I'm here.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Because I'm I'm just trying to not get.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Here, because I'm not trying to get my contract void
- 7:34Speaker 1: it now, whether we get in the end zone or
- 7:36Speaker 1: go down the field, whatever, because it's I mean, it's
- 7:41Speaker 1: a that was a lot of distraction for a young
- 7:43Speaker 1: man who from what I saw. Sometimes your actions can
- 7:50Speaker 1: be things that are not truly your identity, but your
- 7:55Speaker 1: actions do speak louder than anything you did.
- 7:58Speaker 3: It. Yeah, I can't say what's in your heart, and
- 8:00Speaker 3: I don't know what you did, and you.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Can't take the kind of repercussions after it all came out,
- 8:08Speaker 1: and it seems like it really affected his game, But
- 8:11Speaker 1: should do it?
- 8:11Speaker 3: Sanders pulling for you to get out.
- 8:14Speaker 1: And because I know you're going to be scrutinized it's
- 8:18Speaker 1: about anything, and well he's rightfully rightfully so, so before
- 8:26Speaker 1: the battuts get into his two steps, everything that goal
- 8:29Speaker 1: should do is Sanders way, just like his dad is
- 8:33Speaker 1: rightfully earned. You want the spotlight, there's certain things that
- 8:37Speaker 1: go with the spotlight. Not like he was ducking in
- 8:40Speaker 1: the back and we had to go hunt to find you. Hey,
- 8:45Speaker 1: where's somebody your door? You wanted to be in front,
- 8:49Speaker 1: and this is what goes with the front. I was
- 8:51Speaker 1: watching the World War two video. They were talking about
- 8:54Speaker 1: the Pacific and when they was on the land crafts
- 8:59Speaker 1: coming off off the ship trying to get onto the islands. Well,
- 9:03Speaker 1: if you're in the front when them doors open, you
- 9:07Speaker 1: gotta be a true man, because hot leg coming straight
- 9:10Speaker 1: at the door. The guy in the back, he jumping
- 9:14Speaker 1: off the back into the water trying to survive. So
- 9:17Speaker 1: before you go into your whole defense becausuoning, I just
- 9:21Speaker 1: felt the hair on your back raised when I said,
- 9:23Speaker 1: I said, I was pulling for should it right? I
- 9:26Speaker 1: gave him advice as a rookie what to go out
- 9:28Speaker 1: and do. Don't have to win the game, don't have
- 9:31Speaker 1: to to me, you don't have to make those spectacular play.
- 9:33Speaker 1: If they're there, make them, but to me, show that
- 9:37Speaker 1: you have a grass when they go to look the
- 9:41Speaker 1: offensive coordinator. The head coach knows that. Okay, when I
- 9:43Speaker 1: call that play, he knew what to send people. You
- 9:46Speaker 1: know all that. We'll get around to how good of
- 9:49Speaker 1: a performer you are later. Now, go ahead on with
- 9:52Speaker 1: your Deon Sanders defense.
- 9:54Speaker 6: No, I was just gonnassay that they got him listed
- 9:58Speaker 6: on the depth chart as fourth out of the quarterbacks,
- 10:02Speaker 6: even though and he's got a little shoulder situation. But
- 10:05Speaker 6: I was going to also say that reading Wendy said
- 10:08Speaker 6: that he was going to start, I was just wondering,
- 10:11Speaker 6: why are some people complaining? Because this is what you want,
- 10:14Speaker 6: that he's going to be going up against the Carolina
- 10:15Speaker 6: Panthers starters possibly for a series or two.
- 10:19Speaker 3: And there are people, I mean, there are some this like,
- 10:22Speaker 3: oh man, there are some people. Is there you? No,
- 10:25Speaker 3: it's not me. I want to see him go against
- 10:27Speaker 3: the best of the best.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Because I don't. I haven't heard anybody that's against this.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Oh it's do I need to go in the dark
- 10:35Speaker 1: web to find these people because I've.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Read a lot of articles. Yes, yes you do. Oh okay,
- 10:40Speaker 3: because I've been reading a lot of stuff here about
- 10:44Speaker 3: say thank you Steven. Okay. I haven't heard anyone like, oh,
- 10:50Speaker 3: they don't want to do or no, they didn't they
- 10:54Speaker 3: don't want to play. It was just what what was
- 10:57Speaker 3: their complaints?
- 10:59Speaker 7: No?
- 10:59Speaker 6: No, it was just just like I said, I'm happy
- 11:03Speaker 6: that he's playing against the first team. It was just
- 11:05Speaker 6: some team. I mean, going against the starters of the Panthers.
- 11:09Speaker 6: If he's starting a game, starting first first string, go
- 11:13Speaker 6: you first do?
- 11:15Speaker 3: Did I just tell you?
- 11:16Speaker 1: In the first game he will line up with a
- 11:18Speaker 1: lot of guys. It's not even first stream starters should
- 11:24Speaker 1: start playing it. He could walk up to the line
- 11:25Speaker 1: and only one of those offensive linemens or two of
- 11:29Speaker 1: them might be starting.
- 11:30Speaker 3: And what I think and what I what? What I
- 11:32Speaker 3: think I'm hearing? And this is just me.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Why why would the Panthers, why would you think they
- 11:37Speaker 1: would be fully Warren heard it. It was in a
- 11:40Speaker 1: car accident the camp the Panthers port Pro Bowl corner.
- 11:44Speaker 3: And what I think I'm hearing is people are complaining
- 11:47Speaker 3: that Shoudure, who's number four on the chart, is getting
- 11:51Speaker 3: put against the starters. So you're trying to make him
- 11:53Speaker 3: look bad because he's going against starters, but he's just
- 11:58Speaker 3: and it's because he's black.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Well, I think they got like four or five black
- 12:04Speaker 1: quarterbacks in Cleveland.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah, oh, never mind, they just signed another one.
- 12:10Speaker 1: They gotta they're kind of cool with the black thing
- 12:13Speaker 1: up there.
- 12:15Speaker 3: We'll be packed more than sports jock show right after this.

- 15:02Speaker 9: game to the next level.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Sport Shock Show. I'm the Sport
- 15:26Speaker 1: Shock Wing Gatty. Good morning to you as we roll
- 15:30Speaker 1: into a full weekend of preseason action. Caitlin Clark, come
- 15:34Speaker 1: on back down because with this, you know, the NFL back,
- 15:37Speaker 1: College be back, we will completely forget the w n
- 15:40Speaker 1: b A exists here in a couple of days, we
- 15:43Speaker 1: already an forgot that it really is who the w
- 15:47Speaker 1: n b A.
- 15:50Speaker 3: What is when? Uh? With football coming back real quick? Uh?
- 15:56Speaker 1: Our online listener Jared Lloyd was correct and I just
- 15:59Speaker 1: looked up the roster for the Browns and right off
- 16:02Speaker 1: the bat, it shows that it has six quarterbacks on
- 16:06Speaker 1: the roster Joe Flacco, Dylan Gabriel, Tyler Huntley, Kenny Pickett,
- 16:13Speaker 1: Chaudors Sanders, and Deshaun Watson. That's six quarterbacks right there.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Teams usually keep a starter or backup in an emergency quarterback,
- 16:24Speaker 1: so that's three. How DeShawn we haven't figured out which
- 16:28Speaker 1: list he is. Is he still valuable? He did get
- 16:31Speaker 1: hurt last year.
- 16:32Speaker 5: Hey, Sharon Lock, Yeah, he tour his achilles and I
- 16:35Speaker 5: think during the rehab.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Heat re injury. So it seems like he is just
- 16:39Speaker 1: going to be done completely. So the battle you imagine
- 16:44Speaker 1: that Joe Flacco not is just more there at forty
- 16:48Speaker 1: years old as the veteran voice to be behind whoever
- 16:52Speaker 1: else you put up there, and it could just really
- 16:56Speaker 1: be a big battle between Schadur Sandals and a Dylan
- 17:00Speaker 1: Gabriel for that third spot. Based on Kenny Pickett, go ahead,
- 17:06Speaker 1: sports struck you commands. Greg said that he tore his
- 17:10Speaker 1: achilles and then he tore it again. You would have
- 17:13Speaker 1: the most first hand point of view. How many times
- 17:16Speaker 1: can you tear an achilles? And still be effective in
- 17:19Speaker 1: the sport of football. Good question. How many times I
- 17:26Speaker 1: would imagine, Remember, all injuries are specific to what position
- 17:32Speaker 1: you play, what sports you play, what position you play.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Something like an achilles really reduces a basketball player when
- 17:43Speaker 1: you watch them play, guys that they just dominique. Wilkins
- 17:48Speaker 1: just didn't have that spring. Still was a hard, good player.
- 17:50Speaker 1: He was eight six nine, but the dominique of over
- 17:54Speaker 1: the rim nine feet had disappeared. But when you're playing quarterback,
- 17:59Speaker 1: quarter is that one position on the field that injuries
- 18:05Speaker 1: don't really you know, just like they was pushing to
- 18:08Speaker 1: get Aaron Rodgers back, you can place with certain injuries
- 18:12Speaker 1: at quarterback that you can't play anywhere else on the field.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Here in Atlanta, I think if you had seen what's
- 18:20Speaker 1: the quarterback that we picked up last year? Everybody screwing
- 18:23Speaker 1: out Kirk Cousins with his injury, someone else on a receiver,
- 18:28Speaker 1: a cornerback, someone a linebacker, they wouldn't even been available
- 18:33Speaker 1: Week one, but a quarterback because it's more up backs
- 18:38Speaker 1: little you know, it's just especially those that don't run.
- 18:42Speaker 1: But it seems like it's going to be a big
- 18:44Speaker 1: quarterback battle. Good for Shador to get out there and
- 18:47Speaker 1: get that out the way too. That's sometimes good too
- 18:51Speaker 1: for all that spotlight. Just get out there, get back
- 18:53Speaker 1: to football and try to make this team one thing
- 19:01Speaker 1: I want to do. I'm hoping this year that the
- 19:04Speaker 1: whole wife and girlfriend act disappeared for because I don't know,
- 19:12Speaker 1: we have injected we have more stories. We never get
- 19:18Speaker 1: to the third guy or the second guy. We talked
- 19:22Speaker 1: about the first guy, and before we and the second
- 19:25Speaker 1: guy sometimes, but before we can even get to the
- 19:27Speaker 1: second guy, we're talking about the first guy's wife. But
- 19:32Speaker 1: you're not reporting on the second tight end. You're talking
- 19:34Speaker 1: about the first person and then who they're dating is
- 19:38Speaker 1: the next story.
- 19:40Speaker 3: But you you own a football to be family friendly,
- 19:46Speaker 3: you want you wanted to appeal to it. No, no, no, no,
- 19:49Speaker 3: I don't think that's what I ever wanted. I don't
- 19:52Speaker 3: think the people that came to watch it wanted that.
- 19:54Speaker 3: I think that's what the media introduced to make more money.
- 20:00Speaker 3: I'm sure.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I'm sure, because remember the NFL is not doing it.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Women were coming to practice. Wise were coming to practice.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Girlfriends was coming to practice. It's just that the cameraman
- 20:10Speaker 1: on the sideline wasn't capturing them. It's not a new thing, right,
- 20:19Speaker 1: We always had family dare you bring your kids running around?
- 20:23Speaker 1: Those things have been happening now, it's just now that
- 20:26Speaker 1: you report on them.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Well, do you think that now they're getting reported on
- 20:30Speaker 3: because they've invented terms like influencers, So like, for instance,
- 20:36Speaker 3: Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, when she shows up, the
- 20:39Speaker 3: fact that they take a picture of hers because she's
- 20:41Speaker 3: an international Grammy Award winning music artist, so that would
- 20:46Speaker 3: naturally stand to reason that if she's at a practice,
- 20:49Speaker 3: you might get a picture of her. But if someone's
- 20:51Speaker 3: girlfriend shows up, they used to never take pictures of
- 20:55Speaker 3: her because her posing in a bikini for her her
- 21:00Speaker 3: friends on her phone wasn't considered influencing. It was just
- 21:04Speaker 3: considered her being a girlfriend posing for a picture on
- 21:07Speaker 3: her phone. But now the media has created terms like
- 21:10Speaker 3: influencer and whatever else terms they give these people on
- 21:21Speaker 3: these platforms that is supposed to make you want to
- 21:24Speaker 3: see them. And so when they show up, they take
- 21:28Speaker 3: a picture and they put it on the sports site,
- 21:30Speaker 3: and based on the algorithm and the calculatable metrics that
- 21:36Speaker 3: you can look and see, it gets ten thousand likes
- 21:39Speaker 3: it's got fifty thousand shares, and that's what this is
- 21:44Speaker 3: driven by.
- 21:44Speaker 6: Well, if you do a serch, I just put it
- 21:47Speaker 6: NFL wives and it's just pops right up. Once you
- 21:50Speaker 6: put NFL wives and girlfriends, famous, famous NFL wives and girlfriends,
- 21:55Speaker 6: it just pops up.
- 21:56Speaker 3: So it's already at the top of the Googles and
- 22:00Speaker 3: in most athletes opinions.
- 22:01Speaker 1: But as I'm saying, it's not the players, it's not
- 22:04Speaker 1: the coaches, it's not the organization. It's the media. It's
- 22:09Speaker 1: not the wives. That's the people. Things that are new.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Are you going over there and shooting them?
- 22:19Speaker 3: Right? Them coming to practice is not the new part? Right,
- 22:22Speaker 3: and and all I keep I keep focusing when we
- 22:25Speaker 3: have these conversations on the fact that the media is
- 22:28Speaker 3: driven by viewership and listeners, and so somewhere out there
- 22:33Speaker 3: it's a whole group of people that are consuming this
- 22:36Speaker 3: stuff crazy that it really matters to them. And I
- 22:40Speaker 3: don't know them. I don't hang around what I'm saying saying,
- 22:43Speaker 3: I don't even like those kind of people out there
- 22:47Speaker 3: by the bill right the den with a couple of
- 22:55Speaker 3: grads and trying to get the Columbus shot. Oh god,
- 23:01Speaker 3: oh God, don't go away. Or of the Sports Josh
- 23:06Speaker 3: Show with Wayne Dan videos dumbing up next. Uh oh, Brad,
- 23:10Speaker 3: that's buzzed.
- 23:11Speaker 10: Oh yeah, yeah, he's starting with the woots.
- 23:15Speaker 3: And now a speech.
- 23:17Speaker 10: I just want to say that friendship is about heart,
- 23:21Speaker 10: art and brain.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Who's with me?
- 23:23Speaker 14: Good thing is he knows when he's buzzed, and my
- 23:26Speaker 14: brain is saying when it's time to go home.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Somebody call me a ride.
- 23:30Speaker 10: Love that guy, Me too, know.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Your buzzed warning signs, call for a ride when it's
- 23:34Speaker 3: time to go home. Buzz driving is drunk driving. A
- 23:37Speaker 3: message from NITZA and the AD Council.
- 23:40Speaker 15: I'm Scarlet Johansson. My family relied on public assistance to
- 23:43Speaker 15: help provide meals for us. These meals fueled my involvement
- 23:46Speaker 15: in theater and the arts as a child, which fostered
- 23:48Speaker 15: my love for acting. The Feeding American network of food
- 23:51Speaker 15: banks helps millions of people put food on the table.
- 23:54Speaker 15: You can join the Movement to end Hunger by donating, volunteering,
- 23:57Speaker 15: and advocating. Because when people are said, futures are nourished.

- 24:05Speaker 15: slash act now brought.
- 24:07Speaker 10: To you by Feeding America and the AD Council Lena
- 24:10Speaker 10: Bloom for the Bail Project.
- 24:12Speaker 16: Imagine you're stuck in a jail cell and you can't
- 24:14Speaker 16: afford Bell, and someone offers you a way out. Just
- 24:18Speaker 16: plead guilty and you can go home and kiss your
- 24:20Speaker 16: kids good night.
- 24:21Speaker 1: What do you do?
- 24:23Speaker 16: What thousands have you? Plead guilty whether you are or not.
- 24:27Speaker 16: Cash Bell makes poverty a crime. That's why the Bell
- 24:31Speaker 16: Project helps those who can't afford it while fighting to
- 24:34Speaker 16: in cash bail because freedom should be free.
- 24:37Speaker 10: Brought to you by the Ad Council.
- 24:41Speaker 3: And now back to the Sports John Wayne Gandy in
- 24:49Speaker 3: the razo Now miss it it all?
- 25:15Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Boy Shock Show. I'm this Sport
- 25:18Speaker 1: Shock Wayne Candy. Good morning to you out there and
- 25:21Speaker 1: listening Land. It happened again. This will be the third
- 25:24Speaker 1: time we've been down this road this season w NBA
- 25:29Speaker 1: season with the whole sex toy incident. It's something that
- 25:34Speaker 1: a lot of people like to laugh about, like to
- 25:38Speaker 1: smirk about. You say sex toy and everybody gets into
- 25:42Speaker 1: some kind of crude early eighties Porky's mindset. My mind
- 25:49Speaker 1: goes to the idea of it starts with something laughable
- 25:57Speaker 1: and then it ends up with somebody bleeding. Because if
- 26:02Speaker 1: I can get this in, of course I can get
- 26:06Speaker 1: something else in time.
- 26:08Speaker 3: I just throw an unopened can of vegetables and maybe
- 26:15Speaker 3: it'll hit somebody in the head knock them unconscious. Well,
- 26:18Speaker 3: or I can fill it up with some kind of
- 26:21Speaker 3: asset and it breaks and scars somebody up.
- 26:26Speaker 1: All of these creative ways about it, because we're saying
- 26:31Speaker 1: the sexutory everybody going to their yeah, you know, because
- 26:39Speaker 1: I don't know why I mean this, especially if you're
- 26:42Speaker 1: living in Atlanta. About every third red light there's a
- 26:47Speaker 1: sex store. I mean, so it's not even like a
- 26:50Speaker 1: secretive thing no more. It's just right there next to
- 26:54Speaker 1: the public's I mean, it's not something. It's a store.
- 27:02Speaker 1: It's a store next to the grocery store called do It. Yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 1: trust me, But I don't know if there's a lack
- 27:10Speaker 1: of security. I'm quite sure. However, the people will getting
- 27:14Speaker 1: these in, and I can imagine if I go into
- 27:17Speaker 1: my big Kinney mindset, probably they're putting it in an
- 27:19Speaker 1: area which it would fit and where you're supposed to go.
- 27:25Speaker 1: And this is the laugh that I'm talking about. When
- 27:27Speaker 1: I'm talking about on a serious note, because this last
- 27:31Speaker 1: one out in la against the Sparks, when the Sparks
- 27:33Speaker 1: were playing, the fever actually bounced up and hit one
- 27:37Speaker 1: of the players in the shen So the one here
- 27:41Speaker 1: in Atlanta between the Dream and the Valkyries just was
- 27:46Speaker 1: stown out in the play, but this third one actually
- 27:51Speaker 1: bounced and hit someone. And it's just the rule of
- 27:56Speaker 1: law is being destroyed because the rule of law is
- 28:01Speaker 1: nothing is supposed to be thrown, not even the popcorn
- 28:07Speaker 1: or the cups that you buy, paper, your gum, nothing,
- 28:11Speaker 1: the things that you can actually buy in the arena.
- 28:14Speaker 1: So now you're gonna spend your night, your day, whatever
- 28:17Speaker 1: you're doing to basically smuggle in. Is this exposing basically,
- 28:23Speaker 1: I'm asking you, guy, is this exposing security?
- 28:27Speaker 3: Yes? And I'm so glad you said that, because when
- 28:32Speaker 3: you started talking about this, the first thing that you
- 28:34Speaker 3: said is I don't know how these items are getting in,
- 28:37Speaker 3: and we are living in an age where the fans
- 28:42Speaker 3: have convinced security that you're trying to keep me safe
- 28:46Speaker 3: is infringing upon my personal rights. I want to be safe,
- 28:50Speaker 3: but I don't want you searching me in an effort
- 28:53Speaker 3: to be safe. I want to just walk through. I
- 28:55Speaker 3: want to be as comfortable as I would be at home.
- 28:58Speaker 3: You talk about how you've seen celebrities at the Hawks
- 29:01Speaker 3: game bring boxes of jewelry, Like, how do you get
- 29:06Speaker 3: a whole jewelry store into I mean, that's no, that
- 29:08Speaker 3: shouldn't be allowed. But we keep pushing the limits and
- 29:12Speaker 3: pushing the limits, and at some point all of it
- 29:16Speaker 3: will have to go away. They'll stop selling popcorn because
- 29:19Speaker 3: we can't give you things to throw anymore.
- 29:23Speaker 1: We saw at one time, it was last season, the
- 29:25Speaker 1: season before lies in Buffalo where someone threw a sex
- 29:31Speaker 1: toy out of the stands, and now and how uncreative people?
- 29:38Speaker 3: And then you got, I'm creative, So one person did,
- 29:41Speaker 3: and you gonna run out and to come on and
- 29:43Speaker 3: then there's a lot and all these men or most
- 29:46Speaker 3: of these are god doing this as well.
- 29:48Speaker 1: I'm well, I know here in Atlanta it was maybe
- 29:51Speaker 1: twenty six, twenty seven year old young man they arrested.
- 29:55Speaker 1: It was an eighteen year old charge sports shop has
- 29:59Speaker 1: been saying for while, Kenny, you been here with me
- 30:01Speaker 1: commanding Federal how many times I keep saying crimes where
- 30:08Speaker 1: people gather should automatically enter into now arena arena, you
- 30:17Speaker 1: throw something and staked when the arena is full of people,
- 30:22Speaker 1: in the park is full of people, and you gatherings
- 30:25Speaker 1: of people make to me because of down here protesting yes,
- 30:33Speaker 1: and you do something to that protest, it should jump
- 30:36Speaker 1: to federal. You should know it's feederal. That should be
- 30:39Speaker 1: an established rule. A person number two should have known
- 30:44Speaker 1: minimum five.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Years, does it?
- 30:47Speaker 5: It has to be considered like with the the person
- 30:51Speaker 5: in UH at the Atlanta Dream Game charged with disorderly conduct,
- 30:56Speaker 5: public in decency and criminal trespassing, it would have to
- 31:02Speaker 5: be considered a harsher crime.
- 31:07Speaker 3: It's a feeling for it to bella and again command.
- 31:12Speaker 3: A lot of the reason those laws are read like
- 31:16Speaker 3: that on the books is because we have framed sports
- 31:21Speaker 3: gatherings public gatherings as places where we come to enjoy ourselves,
- 31:26Speaker 3: no matter how unenjoyable, we make it for the people
- 31:29Speaker 3: around us. If I'm just trying to have fun with myself,
- 31:32Speaker 3: so i get throwing up drunk and I'm falling over
- 31:35Speaker 3: people and I don't grab somebody that I don't know,
- 31:39Speaker 3: and now out and through something that I'm not supposed
- 31:42Speaker 3: to have in the arena onto the floor and oh, man,
- 31:45Speaker 3: I'm just having fun. And then people go, well, come on, man,
- 31:49Speaker 3: people have fun in different ways. We don't have an
- 31:51Speaker 3: established boundary for like you said, there used to be
- 31:55Speaker 3: a time with anything thrown in an arena, had you
- 31:58Speaker 3: jerked up and taken out of the arena. We haven't found.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Delbert Delbert Carver is his name, twenty three years old,
- 32:07Speaker 1: Delbert Carter Carver. Excuse me, first, gentleman. Here in Atlanta.
- 32:12Speaker 1: That was the first incident about what ten days ago? Uh, yeah,
- 32:18Speaker 1: it's been It was the Atlanta Dream playing the Valkyrie
- 32:22Speaker 1: and so, and then I think the next incident was
- 32:24Speaker 1: in Chicago the Valkyries was playing the Sky and then
- 32:28Speaker 1: this third incident was Theater.
- 32:31Speaker 3: And sparks that like five. I mean, it's been a
- 32:34Speaker 3: couple of games.
- 32:35Speaker 6: Because it's even like poly market sports on ex Twitter,
- 32:39Speaker 6: just that the w NBA betting volumes on dialdo surpasses
- 32:45Speaker 6: betting volume on who's gonna win the game?
- 32:47Speaker 3: The people betting, they got a line to bet. And
- 32:50Speaker 3: why why are we such? Why are we like? What's
- 32:53Speaker 3: wrong with us? You think, what what's wrong with the
- 32:57Speaker 3: human race?
- 33:00Speaker 1: Why we like we basically cavemn steal to the technology
- 33:06Speaker 1: that we have, you would imagine how we act and
- 33:12Speaker 1: the apparatuss that you can go get somebody to bet,
- 33:19Speaker 1: Like how low have we really fallen? Yeah, y'all never
- 33:22Speaker 1: reflect on that, like we've fallen so low that you
- 33:26Speaker 1: know you saw something and then you because of however
- 33:30Speaker 1: you want to make money or whatever you think is funny,
- 33:34Speaker 1: you go and get your phone or your computer and
- 33:37Speaker 1: call w dot dot dot bet on sex toy thrown
- 33:41Speaker 1: at w B NBA game dot com.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Where are we? This is the thing, sports Jack. This
- 33:48Speaker 3: is the thing, sports Jack. You have that perspective because
- 33:52Speaker 3: you first have seen what the rare air looks like.
- 33:55Speaker 3: You've come from a place where no I had disrespect
- 33:58Speaker 3: when I was seven, and because it was instilled in you,
- 34:02Speaker 3: and the environment around you supported that.
- 34:04Speaker 1: But I'm saying the environment said go to ww dot
- 34:08Speaker 1: bet dot come and I thought that's stupid.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, but you had to stuff.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I'm sitting in this chair because the things that was
- 34:17Speaker 1: presented to me seemed stupid. Yeah, and I'm saying now
- 34:22Speaker 1: because they was of quality, it just seemed stupid.
- 34:26Speaker 3: The go live a life that ends up behind.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Some bars, getting h chain to another guy waiting on
- 34:34Speaker 1: somebody to bring you a bologney sandwich and a slice
- 34:37Speaker 1: of orange.
- 34:38Speaker 3: It seems stupid.
- 34:40Speaker 1: So I was thinking, you know what, I'm avoid all that,
- 34:44Speaker 1: But now that's lit. What I'm saying letting you. Now
- 34:48Speaker 1: guys have volunteers.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Now, now dudes will post themselves on social media eating
- 34:55Speaker 3: the slice of orange when an orange shoot on, like
- 34:57Speaker 3: you know what it is, and everybody will stantinto's damn king,
- 35:02Speaker 3: you know, like calling him king, And that's what I'm saying.
- 35:05Speaker 1: You come from a nut.
- 35:06Speaker 3: It was stupid, and somebody else will go, yeah, you're right,
- 35:09Speaker 3: that's stupid. But now people go, man, you ain't got
- 35:11Speaker 3: an orange slice, like you've never had the jail baloney sandwich.
- 35:15Speaker 3: And everybody's wanting the same way we used to put
- 35:18Speaker 3: pennies in our loafers and one of the Jerry curl
- 35:22Speaker 3: is what they strive for. Now is this that you're
- 35:25Speaker 3: talking about, that lower hanging fruit type of existence. And
- 35:30Speaker 3: people have made that cool and they made it profitable.
- 35:33Speaker 3: It's worse.
- 35:34Speaker 1: I'm the friend that if I come over, I see
- 35:37Speaker 1: that's what you've logged on, I just leave. And we
- 35:40Speaker 1: just stopped being friends tell you.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Know now, but this generation would go, how much you
- 35:46Speaker 3: gonna bet? How much you make off that man? You're
- 35:49Speaker 3: making money off sex to a thing. I made thirty
- 35:51Speaker 3: five dollars. Man, you take my fifty and we're gonna
- 35:54Speaker 3: flip my money.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Because remember what you're getting. Just like the guy for
- 35:57Speaker 1: Tampa Bay. As we go to come Marshall a couple
- 36:01Speaker 1: of years ago, uh, the Super Bowls in Tampa Bay.
- 36:04Speaker 3: The guy bet on himself. No no, no, no, no,
- 36:08Speaker 3: no no. He bet that there would be a street streaker,
- 36:11Speaker 3: would be one in the game, and then he went
- 36:13Speaker 3: and caught it hisself. And then he went and.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Caught on to it, and had it not been him running,
- 36:21Speaker 1: he'd have got paid. That crazy about about America.
- 36:25Speaker 3: But that's right that somebody next step him a little,
- 36:31Speaker 3: I get the I get the kiddy, yeah big, and
- 36:36Speaker 3: you go do it and then I'm gonna bail you
- 36:39Speaker 3: out and we no federal charges. I'm just having fun, man.
- 36:42Speaker 3: We people have fun different ways. Man, he didn't think
- 36:45Speaker 3: about it. We'll be back with more than Sports Shock

- 40:48Speaker 3: you a flag.
- 40:49Speaker 1: High school will take away your touchdown if you do
- 40:53Speaker 1: some kind of taunting as you're going into the end zone.
- 40:56Speaker 1: But that was I catched the ball and the DV
- 40:58Speaker 1: is chasing me. I turn around and look at hit
- 41:03Speaker 1: him with the Deshaun Jackson, the new head coach at
- 41:06Speaker 1: where's a North Delaware and turn around that they can
- 41:10Speaker 1: take your touchdown away in high school? In the pros,
- 41:13Speaker 1: I don't know if they've gone to the extent of
- 41:15Speaker 1: taking your touchdown, but they do penalize.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:18Speaker 1: No, could have just been honorable, Noah, no winning the race?
- 41:24Speaker 1: Go ahead on Why are you looking back here? Are
- 41:26Speaker 1: you trying to show me up?
- 41:27Speaker 3: Yes? I am, this is the last great bastion. I
- 41:32Speaker 3: can look at you and say tell your mama saying, hey,
- 41:34Speaker 3: this is.
- 41:35Speaker 5: A legit beef between them and it's it's going back
- 41:38Speaker 5: a while. Apparently, Kenny Beck Nerek had a burner account
- 41:43Speaker 5: on Twitter of just trashing no Allows. Him and his
- 41:48Speaker 5: girlfriend ran this burner account, and then in the race,
- 41:51Speaker 5: as they crossed the finish line, no Allows looks back
- 41:54Speaker 5: at him and.
- 41:56Speaker 1: So okay, by raise a hand, Who's okay with nor
- 42:03Speaker 1: Allows turning around and looking at Kenny back Nerek, if
- 42:13Speaker 1: you if you don't look, if you don't want me
- 42:15Speaker 1: to look back at you, look.
- 42:18Speaker 3: Back at him and saying your girl still burning for me?
- 42:22Speaker 1: Big?
- 42:23Speaker 3: I am?
- 42:24Speaker 21: I am?
- 42:24Speaker 3: I have to ride with you.
- 42:25Speaker 1: I know y'all be thinking I'm super but Noah, if
- 42:27Speaker 1: you want, if you want to stop, why are you.
- 42:30Speaker 3: Behind me talking about talking me being in front of you.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Come on up here and I can hear you, hear
- 42:36Speaker 3: what you do because I can't hear.
- 42:38Speaker 5: You and the baby back there and pushed him and
- 42:40Speaker 5: then tried to shake his hand.
- 42:43Speaker 6: What did Chris Brown say? But then Chris Brown said
- 42:46Speaker 6: that time you outside of the club, you hate me.
- 42:48Speaker 6: You can't even get in. I mean that's all like that, dude,
- 42:51Speaker 6: you can't even get up here with me and you
- 42:53Speaker 6: hating man. Kenny said, you gonna learn today. Ain't gonna
- 42:57Speaker 6: be doing all that.
- 42:57Speaker 3: And we've been talking about mentalities and mind sense. When
- 43:00Speaker 3: did sports become so uh thin skinned and sensitive?
- 43:07Speaker 6: No, it's always been like that. It's just right now
- 43:09Speaker 6: with social media you cut the competitives.
- 43:12Speaker 3: I'm saying people who come in second have always felt
- 43:16Speaker 3: the way about that. Trust me, I understand. Yeah, I'm
- 43:19Speaker 3: just saying that you used to always get the response
- 43:22Speaker 3: from the fan base like, uh then run faster. Now
- 43:25Speaker 3: people are on some Oh you were so unsportsman like,
- 43:28Speaker 3: what do you mean, Well, that's that.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Person that there is one racer that nobody acts like that,
- 43:36Speaker 1: Sidney McLaughlin. The person to come in second, they're happy.
- 43:42Speaker 1: They already went in the race knowing they were come
- 43:45Speaker 1: coming first, number two. So I'm running for second, okay,
- 43:49Speaker 1: behind Hkyri richard So those guys that came in second,
- 43:52Speaker 1: that people like you saying boat, they were never mad
- 43:54Speaker 1: at boat. Oh yeah, no, No, I only came here
- 43:57Speaker 1: to get second. I knew could do and saw boat
- 44:01Speaker 1: cleats hanging up in there.
- 44:03Speaker 3: Boy, I'm gonna get number two. I feel like that
- 44:06Speaker 3: some days on the door look for I feel like
- 44:09Speaker 3: that be bragging. I came in number two behind you
- 44:11Speaker 3: say you boat, Hey, I feel like that's my foursome. Second,
- 44:16Speaker 3: I say, I ain't.
- 44:17Speaker 6: Gonna finish last because I'm size everybody else. Whatever I
- 44:20Speaker 6: do today, I'm not gonna finish last. So you there
- 44:22Speaker 6: are sometimes you do play for second.
- 44:24Speaker 1: Jakari Richardson arrested and let go. She was let go
- 44:30Speaker 1: because I think the boyfriend said they didn't want to
- 44:33Speaker 1: press charges, but they found she was uh deboeing him
- 44:36Speaker 1: at the airport. Was that not the story ever been
- 44:39Speaker 1: deboed by your woman at the airport?
- 44:42Speaker 8: Uh?
- 44:43Speaker 3: Not maybe not at the airport, but debo.
- 44:47Speaker 1: I had an incident at the airport once and it
- 44:50Speaker 1: wasn't what my lady, I don't about you taking no no,
- 44:54Speaker 1: this was a human.
- 44:57Speaker 3: No trafficking either. Its just but she got out on
- 45:00Speaker 3: me in the airport, accuse me of checking out her friend.
- 45:04Speaker 3: We were putting her friend. We were putting her friend
- 45:06Speaker 3: on a flight, and uh, you know, the friend was like, okay,
- 45:09Speaker 3: I'll see y'all later and hugged her buddy and then
- 45:12Speaker 3: turned to me and gave me.
- 45:13Speaker 6: I guess that's when we could used to walk down
- 45:15Speaker 6: and take it to the airport, to the terminal. That's
- 45:17Speaker 6: when you we let her go with the steps towards
- 45:20Speaker 6: the train, and I guess she thought we hugged too
- 45:22Speaker 6: long and wait too long. And then she if you
- 45:25Speaker 6: want to follow her on the airplane? Excuse me?
- 45:28Speaker 3: You heard me. I don't know you anymore. And she's
- 45:31Speaker 3: walking behind me, just screaming. But didn't nobody go to jail. Well,
- 45:36Speaker 3: I think shekhar did get I should have called the police.
- 45:39Speaker 3: I was trying to be a gentleman. Well, I don't
- 45:42Speaker 3: think it was even in the boyfriend's ability. Whatever was
- 45:47Speaker 3: seen on tape. I think some one if I remember
- 45:49Speaker 3: the story, right, they were at whatever gate and she
- 45:54Speaker 3: acting up and somebody saw it, like, oh, no, you don't,
- 45:59Speaker 3: and that the story.
- 46:00Speaker 5: She she grabbed his uh, grab his backpack and tried
- 46:05Speaker 5: to yank it off of them, and then she was
- 46:10Speaker 5: like standing in his way. He's trying to like get
- 46:13Speaker 5: around her, and then she shoved him into a wall.
- 46:16Speaker 3: And this is all being seen by a third party, correct.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, So I guess at that point domestic, they
- 46:23Speaker 1: couldn't they couldn't kiss and make up somebody else.
- 46:27Speaker 3: But that's interesting. Where did this happen in Seattle? Okay?
- 46:30Speaker 3: Because I guess their laws are different, because if that
- 46:32Speaker 3: had happened in Atlanta, he could have said, no, I'm
- 46:36Speaker 3: good and they would have been like, we not though
- 46:39Speaker 3: we're not good.
- 46:39Speaker 1: And I think both of these incidents was at the
- 46:42Speaker 1: same race, right, some kind of Nike or Oregon race.
- 46:47Speaker 3: I think they were on their way to the to
- 46:49Speaker 3: the race, to the race. Okay, but some color now
- 46:53Speaker 3: now on the track now it brings some people to
- 46:56Speaker 3: watch it. How will that affect her career?
- 46:58Speaker 1: Now?
- 46:58Speaker 3: Because if Noah Lyles was York and his girlfriend around
- 47:02Speaker 3: in the airport. He wouldn't be racing anymore. He'd had
- 47:04Speaker 3: to get off the field and everybody would have turned
- 47:07Speaker 3: their backs on him. Kyi Richson in the airport. She's
- 47:09Speaker 3: so used to whooping on this one.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Didn't been there, Uh push a police officer or something,
- 47:15Speaker 1: and that the same guy that was in Miami at
- 47:16Speaker 1: South Beach.
- 47:19Speaker 3: But we didn't all push the cop. Am I right?
- 47:23Speaker 3: Am I right? We didn't all push the cop. Yes,
- 47:26Speaker 3: we come on now. He didn't get off me. Bruh,
- 47:28Speaker 3: off you off from a water or cold after you
- 47:32Speaker 3: catch this maid? What's right with you?
- 47:34Speaker 1: Brother? You act like I'm a grown man. Get off me,
- 47:36Speaker 1: brou We'll be back water Sports Jock Show right after this. Nah,
- 47:40Speaker 1: she and man throwing them bones, hoping my age skid
- 47:43Speaker 1: his case.
- 47:43Speaker 3: Thrown this girl a waitfall. She in the world straight
- 47:46Speaker 3: and there on it.

- 48:49Speaker 22: Some people won't give you the real talk on drugs,
- 48:51Speaker 22: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 48:55Speaker 22: It's a powerful opioate, often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 48:58Speaker 22: with illicted drugs. It can even be pressed into counterfeit
- 49:02Speaker 22: pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about the
- 49:06Speaker 22: size of a few grains of sand could potentially be lethal.
- 49:09Speaker 22: This isn't an AD to scare you, but it is
- 49:11Speaker 22: an AD to make you think twice. Get the facts.
- 49:14Speaker 22: Go to Real Deal on Fentanyl dot com. This message
- 49:17Speaker 22: is brought to you by the AD Council.
- 49:19Speaker 21: This message is for Shana, my mom, who just finished
- 49:21Speaker 21: our high school diploma. I wanted to say I'm so

- 49:50Speaker 3: And now back to the sports John Wayne Gandy.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Center gord on sports news gossip blah blah.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Blab day could be welcome back to the Sports Shock,
- 50:25Speaker 1: Sha the Swart Shock. Hwayne Ken Du Sai Kwan Barkley
- 50:30Speaker 1: turned down an offer to be on the Sports Fitness
- 50:33Speaker 1: and Nutrition Council UH for the United States. President Donald
- 50:39Speaker 1: Trump's office offered him the position. It looks like to
- 50:42Speaker 1: attack with IOA has taken that position. Quan just said
- 50:46Speaker 1: he was too busy, but that used to be and
- 50:49Speaker 1: I guess maybe uh thissadministration and is trying to bring
- 50:55Speaker 1: back that part of school.
- 50:57Speaker 3: Where we used to remember we used to do all
- 50:59Speaker 3: the pull ups.
- 51:00Speaker 1: That part, well, yeah, they've been a whole day. You
- 51:04Speaker 1: try to teach you to do exercise. You know you
- 51:07Speaker 1: it wasn't something you could avoid.
- 51:08Speaker 6: And then they would bring you up to the White
- 51:10Speaker 6: House after if your school did so much good. It
- 51:12Speaker 6: was like some kind of way you would go. And
- 51:14Speaker 6: it was didn't have a competition. Yeah, yeah, you could
- 51:16Speaker 6: win it at your school and then go kind of
- 51:18Speaker 6: like to a region on here.
- 51:19Speaker 3: Then if the region here and they give you a
- 51:21Speaker 3: little badge.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I just couldn't do the pull ups pull up at
- 51:28Speaker 1: that age because I think it used to be up
- 51:30Speaker 1: until about the ninth grade. Your pull up game don't
- 51:34Speaker 1: even start till you until you're about sixteen. Yeah, startosterone
- 51:39Speaker 1: start kicking in, but the pull ups up until many
- 51:43Speaker 1: up until then you just got your little girl muscles work.
- 51:46Speaker 3: You could get about three or five and then that
- 51:49Speaker 3: was it. And then you just because like even all
- 51:55Speaker 3: the merit badge, right, like the Ed States Merit Badge
- 51:58Speaker 3: or something. But Barkley was offered to be on the
- 52:04Speaker 3: council and he say he's too busy doing what football.
- 52:09Speaker 3: He seems like he might have that kind of Mamba
- 52:13Speaker 3: mentality where I just do football right now.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Not that I might not parlay it, but he seems
- 52:18Speaker 1: like how he talks. Even from the off season when
- 52:22Speaker 1: you see a lot of things he's working out football.
- 52:26Speaker 1: You know, it's no his athletic ability to speed. He's
- 52:29Speaker 1: bounced back from some bad injuries. But I don't think
- 52:34Speaker 1: he was saying he wasn't sliding it from a political
- 52:39Speaker 1: like your views are mine. I think he just didn't
- 52:43Speaker 1: want to commit to something or the schedule of it
- 52:46Speaker 1: with his calendar and right now after winning that Super Bowl,
- 52:50Speaker 1: he's definitely in line to be.
- 52:51Speaker 6: A part of a lot of stuff. And then you're
- 52:53Speaker 6: in front of the Madden cover this year, Oh is
- 52:56Speaker 6: he okay? Okay, okay, So I've got a lot of
- 52:59Speaker 6: little things there. So oh now he's gonna be the
- 53:03Speaker 6: curse that. I don't think the curse gonna get him.
- 53:05Speaker 6: I don't think the man getting I wanted to put
- 53:08Speaker 6: a bet you want putt? Like two players have beaten
- 53:15Speaker 6: the curse? Madden, how long has man been?
- 53:19Speaker 3: Thirty years? Thirty five years? Because I was going to
- 53:21Speaker 3: you out of thirty five. So naming the part with
- 53:24Speaker 3: the people who had guy.
- 53:25Speaker 5: They started doing the cover like a player on the
- 53:28Speaker 5: cover in nineteen ninety nine. That was Barry Sanders and
- 53:32Speaker 5: he had he retired, He had already retired when they
- 53:36Speaker 5: put him on the cover. So and here's the other
- 53:41Speaker 5: I mean, he was he was the first. He was
- 53:43Speaker 5: the first player on the cover, right, But like, okay,
- 53:46Speaker 5: Eddie George he got hurt, Marshall Falk got hurt.
- 53:49Speaker 3: It's been enough, yees, it's been enough for the curse
- 53:52Speaker 3: stigma to be real.
- 53:54Speaker 5: I think my Homes may have been the only player
- 53:57Speaker 5: that might eat the curse. But he lost the Super Bowl,
- 54:02Speaker 5: so that like he made it. He didn't get hurt Bowl, so.
- 54:08Speaker 3: He didn't get hurt. I think will survive this. Uh
- 54:12Speaker 3: and uh sports Uh, mister Lloyd said, Presidential Fitness Merit
- 54:17Speaker 3: badge Merit badge.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I thought that was the name, the
- 54:20Speaker 1: merit badge, and it was something that was I know,
- 54:25Speaker 1: they kind of worked away from because p what we
- 54:30Speaker 1: call physical education went from like a year in part
- 54:35Speaker 1: of every year just starting to be just an elective
- 54:40Speaker 1: for some schools in some districts where you just had
- 54:43Speaker 1: to have one little, you know, semester of it, whereas
- 54:47Speaker 1: for the people on this panel, it was every year,
- 54:50Speaker 1: every every year, you had to place that somewhere in
- 54:54Speaker 1: your schedule, schedule for the first period or last period.
- 54:59Speaker 1: And it wasn't one of those things that just where
- 55:02Speaker 1: you just took an elective of it, like shop.
- 55:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:06Speaker 1: So, but it sounded like good and and both guys
- 55:09Speaker 1: a good choices, young men, very athletic, positive role models
- 55:14Speaker 1: that we can see in Saquan and Intua. If Tua
- 55:19Speaker 1: has taken on that role, what else do we have here?
- 55:23Speaker 1: Teddy Bridgewater signed with the Tampa Bay Bucks. So Teddy retired,
- 55:27Speaker 1: went down to Florida, became a head coach, won a
- 55:31Speaker 1: state championship, then honorably turned himself in. It seemed from
- 55:36Speaker 1: what I was talking with a couple of people about
- 55:39Speaker 1: this Teddy Bridgewater situation, it was more of Teddy trying
- 55:45Speaker 1: to help the players and the coaches by showing how
- 55:50Speaker 1: the pay scale, especially in Florida, coaching football, like it's
- 55:56Speaker 1: different from even like the state of Georgia, so a
- 55:59Speaker 1: lot of that, you know. At first I thought they
- 56:01Speaker 1: had just kind of caught him and he was just
- 56:04Speaker 1: he was being helpful where he was showing he spent
- 56:07Speaker 1: about fourteen to sixteen thousand dollars helping kids get the
- 56:11Speaker 1: practice and giving them different some you know, helping them.
- 56:15Speaker 1: But it seemed like he was taking a stance that
- 56:19Speaker 1: coaches unless you're at maybe a private school different than
- 56:23Speaker 1: here in Georgia, where I have read where you have
- 56:26Speaker 1: twelve to fifteen coaches that make one twenty five to
- 56:32Speaker 1: two one hundred thousand dollars in this state, you know,
- 56:36Speaker 1: to the point I call, you know, some schools I
- 56:39Speaker 1: go to and have like, hey, coach, you need some shoes.
- 56:42Speaker 3: And then some schools I go to, like coach making
- 56:45Speaker 3: two twenty five. You good? You just shooting and it
- 56:52Speaker 3: needs some encouragement. You know, the Carver and a lot
- 56:58Speaker 3: of the cities.
- 56:58Speaker 1: You know, ties because one of the good coaches over
- 57:01Speaker 1: there at Carver, he was he makes his kids wear ties,
- 57:04Speaker 1: regardless of what they have on on Wednesday. He doesn't
- 57:08Speaker 1: care whether his button up shirt T shirt. You have
- 57:11Speaker 1: to wear a tie because he likes he wants them
- 57:13Speaker 1: to get into mind, like, hey, you about to get
- 57:15Speaker 1: ready for the game. Be business like, so you just
- 57:20Speaker 1: keeps so they don't have an excuse. He keeps a
- 57:23Speaker 1: little box in the office. So I gave him, like,
- 57:25Speaker 1: you know, twelve thirteen ties that I had. But then
- 57:30Speaker 1: last year, when I saw the pay scill not for him,
- 57:32Speaker 1: but for other coaches, I went on an x them
- 57:35Speaker 1: off my list for even oh coach, got that coach
- 57:38Speaker 1: making one not a five.
- 57:39Speaker 3: And imagine what some of them an't even teaching school.
- 57:44Speaker 3: It's just like coaching and sleeping sleep in the office.
- 57:50Speaker 3: I'm about to boost the money.
- 57:53Speaker 1: You get him a nine to nine hole round of golf.
- 57:57Speaker 1: I'm come to practice later. I'm like this about eleven.
- 58:01Speaker 1: We'll be back more to Spotstock show right after this.
- 58:24Speaker 8: Don't go Awayne Bard of The Sports Jock Show with
- 58:27Speaker 8: Wayne Gambidia's coming up next.
- 58:30Speaker 9: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance. Three
- 58:33Speaker 9: quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 58:36Speaker 9: of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually have
- 58:40Speaker 9: life insurance.
- 58:41Speaker 23: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 58:42Speaker 23: just getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 58:45Speaker 23: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 58:47Speaker 10: What about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 58:50Speaker 23: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 58:52Speaker 23: bills piling up, I was worried how my family was
- 58:54Speaker 23: survived without me. That's what I'm in an appointment with
- 58:56Speaker 23: the insurance informant.
- 58:57Speaker 9: Information gives you power, and life insurance gives your family
- 59:00Speaker 9: security no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 59:03Speaker 23: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I'll
- 59:05Speaker 23: leave my family that bills their benefits.
- 59:07Speaker 9: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five or fifty,
- 59:10Speaker 9: whether you earn a little or a lot, All you
- 59:12Speaker 9: need is the insurance informant to help you build a
- 59:14Speaker 9: foundation of security, because without you, your family will have
- 59:18Speaker 9: two options, benefits or bills. Which legacy will you leave behind?
- 59:23Speaker 9: Log on today benefits or bills dot com? That's benefits
- 59:27Speaker 9: or bills dot com.
- 59:30Speaker 24: I never realized that I'd be taking care of a
- 59:33Speaker 24: two year old and a nine year old on my own.
- 59:36Speaker 24: I think men can be a little stubborn sometimes, where
- 59:39Speaker 24: pride gets in the way and they may want the help,
- 59:42Speaker 24: they may not know how to ask. With my traditions,
- 59:45Speaker 24: with the family support in line, and just with my
- 59:48Speaker 24: mind frame, I was able to turn a negative into
- 59:52Speaker 24: a positive. I knew I needed more tools on my
- 59:55Speaker 24: toolbox to take care of these little girls that just
- 59:58Speaker 24: lost their mother. It's time for me to be that
- 1:00:01Speaker 24: father that I knew I could be. I think just
- 1:00:04Speaker 24: being that good role model as well. That model's good
- 1:00:07Speaker 24: behavior in front of them, going to work every day,
- 1:00:10Speaker 24: coming home and being able to put on that smile.
- 1:00:13Speaker 24: The biggest reward about being a dad is sitting back
- 1:00:16Speaker 24: and watching your kids be happy.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: Never stop being a dad. That's dedication.
- 1:00:23Speaker 24: Find out more on fatherhood dot gov, brought to you
- 1:00:25Speaker 24: by the US Department of Health and Human Services and
- 1:00:28Speaker 24: the AD Council.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Enough, I don't have it?
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Why so serious sucking? We hold the world? Bransom for me,
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: excuse me while I whip this out.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: Broadcasting Live and Atlanta to a jaz this. This is
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: a sports show with Wayne Dandy.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: You may comes I'm up to Yeah, I'm gonna go
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: on the way walk back to this what shock shaw,
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: I'm this what shock? Wayne Candy?
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Good morning until you out there and this Thursday, it's
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: time for a little preseason NFL Action Major League Baseball Show.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Hey stop shilling out. You're hitting the go ahead to
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: hit homer and you're striking eight people out. You're doing
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: things that haven't been done but by Dave Route. And
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: we saw how that turned out. Well it was it
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: was the nineteen ten everybody was everything Baby did was legal.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it was legal. They didn't even have.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: They hadn't even actually marked off most of the country.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: They had built in a way in the state highways
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: like Montana or West was just called out there. They
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: hadn't even broken down the city of Atlanta into districts
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: yet in nineteen ten. We have the pleasure here on
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: the Sports Shock Show this morning, and you know, we're
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: going to bring it back to sports, but politics, as
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: we know President Trump demanding teens return their names. I mean,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: you know, looking back and sports is the new place
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: to go for a lot of different things, from Hollywood
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: to politics when you want to get because that's where
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: everybody all bunch stuff at. But we have and I'm
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: quite sure he was high school. He was great with
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: the ladies with the name. He wanted them up with
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: the name Charles because they thought it was fake. First
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: of all and that's what got.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: Was his stage name, that's his playboy name.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: But been in the Atlanta area for twenty years now
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: more house graduate with Big Kenny.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: You are a Q. Yes, I am so proudly, proudly.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: He's showing you something over here. He want to make
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: sure we're gonna let that slide today. So we're gonna
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: right in front of companies for us, Jock, that's what
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: we're gonna do today.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: H Mister Charles Bourgeois is in the building District nine.
- 1:03:28Speaker 25: Yes, City councilman, welcome to the show man, Thank you
- 1:03:33Speaker 25: to having me listen. I want to say, this is incredible. Uh,
- 1:03:36Speaker 25: you're a legend, man of many words, and you've done
- 1:03:39Speaker 25: a hell of a job. Man, so I'm just grateful
- 1:03:41Speaker 25: to be here. All blessings and glory to God. Man,
- 1:03:43Speaker 25: thank you so much for having me on.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: Well, I have to let the guys know you're from
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: New Orleans, Yes, Bourgeois, come on, man, Like we couldn't
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: have narrowed that down, We couldn't have guessed two guesses,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: like my first guess is New Orleans, my second guess
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: is Louisy.
- 1:04:00Speaker 25: Yes, the family is from New Orleans. Franklin, Louisiana, Hamilton, Louisiana.
- 1:04:04Speaker 25: And you know it's funny you said it. When I
- 1:04:07Speaker 25: was growing up, they were like Bourgeois. It's like, yes,
- 1:04:10Speaker 25: my name is Charles Bourgeois. They're like, what's your real name?
- 1:04:13Speaker 25: That's not your driver's license. I was like, no, I
- 1:04:16Speaker 25: used to have to take my license out to prove
- 1:04:17Speaker 25: to people my last name was actually Bourgeois. And so
- 1:04:20Speaker 25: woke up one day and my dad was like, you're
- 1:04:22Speaker 25: mister Bourgeois now, and I was like, oh, this is good.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: This is this is they gonna like this one.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: So yeah, you don't want to get pulled over with
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: that name because they're gonna they're gonna swear you're gonna
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: fail to test.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: You gotta be drunk. He gave us a fake. I'm
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: gonna eat back up well out of being.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Before we get into what you have been doing here,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: great things here in the Atlanta area, we have to
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: make sure are we who that?
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Or we all rise up?
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Man?
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: You know what? Listen, I hold on that's like who that?
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: That sounds like who that? When you start when you
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: start your man, listen, man, listen.
- 1:05:09Speaker 25: So we will say her falcon, you know my people
- 1:05:11Speaker 25: are gonna tell me to tell them, man, we that
- 1:05:14Speaker 25: who that?
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: Okay, okay, but but I'll say this.
- 1:05:17Speaker 25: I was on the Falcons train and I was rising
- 1:05:20Speaker 25: up and then I was partying too hard because it
- 1:05:23Speaker 25: was twenty eight to three, and I swore I could
- 1:05:25Speaker 25: have known we were taking home the chip and it
- 1:05:28Speaker 25: was in that day.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: I said, it's who that nation. I hate to do it.
- 1:05:33Speaker 25: I gotta go back home because I thought I was here.
- 1:05:35Speaker 25: I thought that we had something. I'm on North Side Drive.
- 1:05:38Speaker 25: People are losing their mind. So everybody remember twenty eighty three. Man,
- 1:05:42Speaker 25: something that was like that. That was like that Hollywood
- 1:05:45Speaker 25: dream broke. I'm gonna leave La.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: I'm going I'm going back to Alabama tonight because this
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: ain't fun.
- 1:05:52Speaker 21: Me.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Well, I'm always because I spent three years with the
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Saints and I spent three years with the Atlanta Falcon,
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: So I'm balanced either way. And then so I can
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: really sit in the middle and enjoy both of the cities.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: But being from New Orleans, who that at least we
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: can from the jump trust what he's saying.
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: Yeah, he owned. I got a long line of folks.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: He didn't give us the political the guy that you
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: replaced just the second ago. He'd be all over the place. Okay,
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: he would have told us, Well, my roots led me
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: to it, Atlanta.
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: My roots led me. I've been here a pet falcon
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: at home.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: So we come here, we go to Morehouse, we graduate,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: we would become a kappa, and then what do we
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: do in that city of Atlanta?
- 1:06:41Speaker 25: Out size to day? I die to make sure named
- 1:06:47Speaker 25: it twice, two times, two times. We just got omegas.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: And that's at my age. I do a lot of.
- 1:07:03Speaker 25: No, but no, yes, we get here. Two thousand and five,
- 1:07:05Speaker 25: thousand and six, it has been twenty years. Moved to
- 1:07:07Speaker 25: Atlanta and got adopted by the city, the son of
- 1:07:11Speaker 25: the city, went to Morehouse College. This is actually my
- 1:07:14Speaker 25: fifteenth reunion graduation year. So we're gonna do it real
- 1:07:18Speaker 25: big for spell House, Morehouse, Spellming homecoming. But to be
- 1:07:22Speaker 25: able to come to a city and leave your mark.
- 1:07:24Speaker 25: I'm now a hospitality executive. All about people, been about people,
- 1:07:28Speaker 25: serving people. That is my love language. At home, I
- 1:07:31Speaker 25: cooked the food because serving a fire dish, you should
- 1:07:35Speaker 25: do the cooking. Slap your mama chicken a little seattle loss.
- 1:07:39Speaker 25: That doing service to others makes me happy. It makes
- 1:07:41Speaker 25: me feel good. So being a hospitality for twenty years
- 1:07:44Speaker 25: and I've done everything from you know, festivals to corporate events,
- 1:07:47Speaker 25: to galas to concerts to nightlife and kind of work
- 1:07:50Speaker 25: my way up and now own a hospitality in the
- 1:07:53Speaker 25: industry as executive, own a a mescal brand, and so
- 1:07:56Speaker 25: the mescal brand we've got going here is Zomo's Mescal.
- 1:07:59Speaker 25: So young good entrepreneur was able to kind of come
- 1:08:02Speaker 25: through and have more House College wrap their arms around
- 1:08:05Speaker 25: me and now looking to serve the city of Atlanta
- 1:08:08Speaker 25: as the next city councilmen in District nine.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Any chance of ever going to Southern when you were
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: when you're eighteen and he was making that decision, you know,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: Southern just a couple of miles away.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: From New Wallep.
- 1:08:21Speaker 25: You know what's so interesting, man, is that my family
- 1:08:23Speaker 25: really relocated as a group to Houston. So been in
- 1:08:27Speaker 25: Houston for a while from New Orleans. A lot of
- 1:08:29Speaker 25: the Katrina was involved in that back in the day.
- 1:08:31Speaker 25: But what I'll say is that I have always been
- 1:08:34Speaker 25: someone who has a lot of ambition and dreams big.
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: I was looking to progress my life.
- 1:08:42Speaker 25: And I'll be honest, without college, I was one of
- 1:08:44Speaker 25: those kids who was like, we're gonna as my Clark.
- 1:08:46Speaker 25: Atlanta folks will say find a way or make away.
- 1:08:49Speaker 25: And I really, honestly in the onset earlier, early, early,
- 1:08:51Speaker 25: didn't consider college as a mandatory. But my parents did,
- 1:08:56Speaker 25: and they said, you know what, no, boy, you're not
- 1:08:58Speaker 25: going to be in this house and not go to school.
- 1:09:00Speaker 25: And I only applied to one school because my mom
- 1:09:03Speaker 25: was like, you got to go to Morehouse. Put on
- 1:09:05Speaker 25: my application. When it came in, I got in, my
- 1:09:07Speaker 25: mom ran up and down the stairs twenty times, called
- 1:09:09Speaker 25: everybody in her phone book. We're going to Morehouse College.
- 1:09:12Speaker 25: I get to Morehouse and they say, oh, you're gonna
- 1:09:13Speaker 25: love it here.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: I said, why is that?
- 1:09:15Speaker 25: Well, there's a there's an all girls school across the street,
- 1:09:17Speaker 25: Spellman College. So I got inside and left. Plus it
- 1:09:22Speaker 25: was a plus, So I mean listens more House College.
- 1:09:24Speaker 25: That's treated me well. And I've been able to leave
- 1:09:27Speaker 25: my mark on the city by empowering and helping and
- 1:09:30Speaker 25: assisting others. And there's nothing better. I believe in this
- 1:09:34Speaker 25: life that you can do as you climb to lift
- 1:09:37Speaker 25: others up. And that's been something that's really grounded me
- 1:09:40Speaker 25: and pushed me in a position that you know, we're
- 1:09:42Speaker 25: now ready to serve the city, and you know, along
- 1:09:44Speaker 25: the way, if we can do good while doing good
- 1:09:47Speaker 25: and make good money.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: I think that's the goal of everyone in life. And
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: I was just going to ask you what drew you
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: to politics?
- 1:09:53Speaker 12: What?
- 1:09:54Speaker 25: What? What?
- 1:09:54Speaker 22: What?
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: Is there a moment in time you remember like, oh,
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: I gotta get on this.
- 1:10:00Speaker 26: You know.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: Course correction is you know a commercial on TV, something
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: happened in the family. Usually there's a lot of times
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: where a moment hits you where you might want to
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: get more involved.
- 1:10:10Speaker 25: It's interesting you say that because I started my hospitality career,
- 1:10:16Speaker 25: you know, VIP CONCIERG, nightlife promoter, organizer, you know, call
- 1:10:21Speaker 25: it a festival curator in the space and sense of
- 1:10:25Speaker 25: I've done two thousand events and almost every major city
- 1:10:29Speaker 25: in America internationally. Once upon a time, I used to
- 1:10:32Speaker 25: have one hundred and five events a year, and I
- 1:10:33Speaker 25: was knocking them out. I mean, I'm pushing towards the
- 1:10:36Speaker 25: top of the industry of if there's an event, a
- 1:10:39Speaker 25: large event, we're doing it. We're having a good time,
- 1:10:42Speaker 25: but we're also making sure we create experiences to bring
- 1:10:44Speaker 25: people together. My superpower is to bring people together, put
- 1:10:48Speaker 25: butts in seats, and figure out how to give people
- 1:10:51Speaker 25: the best experience hospitality, serving people, doing better for others.
- 1:10:54Speaker 25: And then one day I woke up and said to myself,
- 1:10:57Speaker 25: I've got to be able to impact my community and
- 1:11:00Speaker 25: do more. And I really walked away from the entire
- 1:11:03Speaker 25: entertainment cohort. And when other folks that I was crazy,
- 1:11:07Speaker 25: I said to myself, we can't challenge our community to
- 1:11:10Speaker 25: just have a good time party and get drunk every week.
- 1:11:12Speaker 25: At some point we've got to evolve and become more
- 1:11:16Speaker 25: and look to make an impact to better the lives
- 1:11:18Speaker 25: of other people. And so that really, honestly, truly was
- 1:11:20Speaker 25: what happened. I woke up one day this is twenty eighteen,
- 1:11:23Speaker 25: kind of twenty nineteen pre COVID, and then I just
- 1:11:26Speaker 25: started going down another path. Two years of community service
- 1:11:28Speaker 25: and then ended up doing voter registration. I registered two
- 1:11:32Speaker 25: thousand millennials to vote for one of the gubernatory elections.
- 1:11:35Speaker 25: And after that, I said, Okay, Civics is where I
- 1:11:37Speaker 25: want to go because I can bring people together and
- 1:11:39Speaker 25: I can mobilize and mobilizing people for a cause that's
- 1:11:42Speaker 25: important and affects us is to me more important than
- 1:11:46Speaker 25: just going out and getting a drink.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: Well, we're going to go to break come back with
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: more of more House, Charged with draw Terrence Matthis have
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: a great season. There're going, you know, over there for Morehouse.

- 1:15:14Speaker 1: But we're gonna go through the birthdays here real quick
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: and get back to him. Jalen Hurts for the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: Can they repeat with the twenty seven year old quarterback
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Charlie's steering? A great actress is fifty years old. Mike Trout.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Mike Trout wanted to be anonymous, and that's what he became.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: He was one of those guys. Remember he hated media.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: Don't really care for that. One of the greatest baseball
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: players of his era. But the fame I remember us
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: talking about. He had a mandate where if whatever you
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: wanted him to do media related did not fit within
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: the framework of his work day.
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: He didn't want the money.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: He was not staying an extra hour just to get
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: the McDonald check if he was going home to his family.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: But what a great baseball player is Mike Trout thirty
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: four years old. The great Sydney Crosby is thirty eight.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: Sidney McLaughlin, we were talking about her earlier, one of
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: the greats that's ever been on the track in only
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: twenty six years old. Rumor is she is moving to
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: the four hundred meters, not the hurdles. She's going to
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: start doing the four hundred meter and the two hundred meter.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Watch out, You've been exciting Olympics with her moving to that.
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: De mar de Rozan is the Marta Rosen a Hall
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: of Famer? Yes, yes, okay, okay, I'm an NBA guy.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: You spoke up quick, do you? Yes?
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: The Martin Rosan is thirty six years old. Michael Shannon,
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: great actor is fifty one. Kyler Murray of the Cardinals
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: still hasn't arrived to me to what we thought.
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: This is what Kyler, he's twenty eight years old. It
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: has to be about sevens. This would be year seven. Okay,
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: that'll be about seventies. And he still hasn't arrived in
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: your estimation.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: In my estimation, Games to Play Sean Mindez twenty seven
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: and Roger Federer forty four, Dustin Hoffman eighty eight, as
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: your Wilson the great basketball player best in the WNBA
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: twenty nine. If you still haven't seen her, there's nothing.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: She's just so dominant. I think last night she served
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: somebody up like twenty seven, twenty nine on off night.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: Right, this was one of those. She was off wearing
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: a blindfold with my left ankle heart.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: But for the Vegas Aces, no one does it better
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: in the WNBA than Asia Wilson twenty nine years old, does.
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: Say Dustin Hoffman? Yes, one hundred and thirty two. I
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: keep going back to that because I keep eighty eight
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: years old. That's just a lot of years, Dustin, you're
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: overachieving now eighty eight years old. Matt ten is fifty four,
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: Curtis blow Big Kenny eighty eight.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: You and Cury He's started it all now is sixty
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: six years of Okay, Okay, that makes sense.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: I can believe that he closed though he can see it.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: It's over the horizon.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Emmy Adoka, the head coach of the Rockets, is forty
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: eight years old.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: Eli Apple is thirty.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: JaMarcus Russell's Marcus Russe is disappointed.
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: Jerry's boy. JaMarcus rus is forty years old. Most of
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: a flyer for his birthday party the other day. The
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: Legend Doug Williams seventy years old. Sam Elliott raad actor
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: eighty one. Melody Griffin seemed like she should be about
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: eighty five, but it says she's sixty eight. Okay, hold on,
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: I mean I'm proud in my fifties. Melanie Griffin was
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: like forty five when I first ever saw. I don't
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: know how and you in middle school? You in middle
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: school when he first saw and she was forty five
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: years old and sixty eight.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: Dustin Hoffman got the same birth certificate. Ronald Mitra is
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: forty nine, Eric Banner fifty seven. From the X Files,
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: Jillian Anderson is fifty seven, is well. Anna Kendricks is forty.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: Meghan good is forty four. Oh wow, she never ages
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: and sounded like we found.
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: One final winner over here and prime.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: Time it must be the money coach Prime Dion Sanders, Kenny,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: come on baby, Primetime is fifty.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: I just want to thank God right now for moving
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: on my birth day.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: Fifty eight years old. Is dianon Sanders and wishing him.
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: I think Dion's just in a big decision right now
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: with his health because with his incident where he had
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: had two toes removed and this year I think he
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: had compartment syndrome and he's telling you about now they've
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: built him a new bladder.
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: You're fifty eight. You're in a profession where there's a
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: lot of movement. You know, coaching is a tiring even
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: the thing about coaching, even when you're seen as a
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: player's coach or a coach's coach, it's still about fourteen
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: hours a day. Yeah, you know the slave driver coaches
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: are sixteen. But just a good coach giving you a break.
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: We're gonna work from six am to eight pm, and
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: that's cutting you a break.
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: That's a lot of wear and tear.
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: When you think about having a multiple medical issues and
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: now you're talking about a couple of things where being
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: on the sideline, I know I read something that he
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: has a depends commercial or he's doing something that depends
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: now because with the bladder, I think they rebuilt him
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: a bet houder so instead of having the bag, he'll
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: be able to wear it.
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: That depends. But that's a lot.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: And then stand up in some ninety degree heat and
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: yell at some eighteen year olds were not hustling to.
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: The ball, And that's who's not right there, And give
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: you a strope who's not really listening any way because
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: they're looking in the stand.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: Stand So coach prime, fifty eight years old, man, we
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: wish you the great health is year if you decided
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: to get back on the stand, on.
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: That sideline and for the clock in sports jock, do
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: I still get the work? Well, no, I think we
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: should give it to I got to get it before
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: making good, Clu, I'm a draft because he you you
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: saw him, he's got to take it from you. He
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: was gonna put up a trade. Yeah, making good that
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: sounds like a winner. I know you don't.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: Oh no, you don't, sir, Clunk clunk. We draft making.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: That's a good age. You're just talking about good jeens. Okay, Well,
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: when they are not like you or not like the
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: American Eagle commercial is a good geens making.
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: Good, making good, real good, making good. We'll be back
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: our special guess in the Sports Shot show right after.
- 1:22:39Speaker 8: This, jn't go, Wayne Born of the Sports John Hill

- 1:23:01Speaker 17: practice yoga.
- 1:23:03Speaker 10: My dad's going to a club, but not a book club,
- 1:23:05Speaker 10: a salsa club.
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: Finding new hobbies comes with age.
- 1:23:09Speaker 13: My mom has started getting lost and not knowing where.

- 1:23:31Speaker 9: quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:23:35Speaker 9: of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually have
- 1:23:38Speaker 9: life insurance.
- 1:23:39Speaker 23: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:23:41Speaker 23: just getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:23:44Speaker 10: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind. What
- 1:23:46Speaker 10: about you. Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:23:49Speaker 23: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:23:51Speaker 23: bills piling up, I was worried how my family was

- 1:25:08Speaker 10: Sit the dump Pete watching Gone Detail.
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: I'm Charles.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: Then right in there, my boy, welcome back to the
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: Swart Shock Show. I'm in the Swart Shock Wing. Candy
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: Big Kenny's in the building. The bad producer as well,
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: even though you don't see him and comanch you, Greg
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: is running the show for us. We have special guests
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: District nine City Councilman Charles Bourgeois. And I'm not saying
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: it trying to be fancy Bourgeois, but Bourgeois is in
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: the building.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: And we all acting a little bit different because of it,
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. We all got our shoulders
- 1:25:46Speaker 3: a little bit straighter.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: This morning, I told the guys you were coming in
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: to day most of us have been in the Atlanta
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: area twenty I've been here basically since nineteen ninety four
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: ninety five.
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: So, but they weren't sure were district not.
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: They only know Atlanta in a sense of zones zones yea, yeah, yeah,
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: yeah yeah. So when I say District nine, they was like,
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: where is that? Is that a particular zone or y'all
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: read it is imagining this? No, no, no, it's essentially
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: overlaid on top of police zones. But for quick math,
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: zone one. Do you remember the shorty low song, shoddy
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: low song. It must be two sides. Yeah, were talking
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: about the west side.
- 1:26:30Speaker 25: Okay, that's what we're talking about. District nine is northwest Atlanta.
- 1:26:34Speaker 25: It is essentially the southern border is Bankhead Parkway, Donnelly
- 1:26:37Speaker 25: Hollowell Up, and it is Downy Hollowell Up, which includes Riverside, Bolton,
- 1:26:43Speaker 25: wood Your Mills, West Highlands, West Midtown. It even goes
- 1:26:47Speaker 25: into Atlantic Station. Then it hits Cross Creek, Underwood Hills,
- 1:26:51Speaker 25: it goes up to Howell Mill, it goes up to
- 1:26:53Speaker 25: what you would call the Howell Mill Village and Collier.
- 1:26:57Speaker 25: It even goes to Bolton. It is the fifty thousand
- 1:27:00Speaker 25: people live in northwest Atlanta. And let's call it north
- 1:27:03Speaker 25: of Bankhead and uh west of seventy five eighty five.
- 1:27:07Speaker 25: That is that Northwest Parkway over there. That's District nine
- 1:27:10Speaker 25: twin twin.
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: You know it.
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: Twin District nine twins. The west side must must be
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: like that there.
- 1:27:20Speaker 25: So I actually a quick funny story of the day
- 1:27:23Speaker 25: that I announced I was running the selection t I P.
- 1:27:26Speaker 25: Mister Clifford Harris called me to a studio and said,
- 1:27:28Speaker 25: I heard you're running the represent Bankhead. I said, yes,
- 1:27:31Speaker 25: mister Harrison, he said.
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: Expeditious, expeditiously, coportuitously. I'm gonna come and throw a couple
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: of bands on your campaign fun you feed me twin
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: about Tip, I'm way way to be politically involved. When
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: I see him, I'm gonna have to wait to you know,
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: having throw some campaign funds that way. We tried, We
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: try to do what we can. And I listen.
- 1:27:57Speaker 25: I'm like I said, I'm a son of the city.
- 1:27:59Speaker 25: Morehouse College raised me. I'll do the glory to God
- 1:28:02Speaker 25: my parents, Uh, Penny Bourgeois and Jeffrey Bourgeois. It's done
- 1:28:05Speaker 25: an incredible job. I got two brothers, one actually played,
- 1:28:08Speaker 25: youngest one professional soccer. The oldest one is a doctor
- 1:28:12Speaker 25: tenure track at University of Southern California.
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: So a lot of us are doing good things. The
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: bourgeois plan is here to state.
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: High bar in the family sounds like man, No, like
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: there's a bar that is that your kids are in here,
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: like you have a man you got.
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: Doing all that, You ain't got no business starting yet
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: right here. I just want to cut the grass right now,
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: and I just have chore. I want to ask you,
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: being here in the city of Atlanta. Everybody when they're
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: running for office, when they are in office, they have
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: a priority for their for their district, for their constituents.
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: What is your priority for your constituents?
- 1:28:52Speaker 25: Man?
- 1:28:52Speaker 26: You know what?
- 1:28:53Speaker 25: Thank you for asking me that. Let me start by
- 1:28:55Speaker 25: just saying this quickly and very blank and frank. My
- 1:28:59Speaker 25: number one goal is to make people's lives better. When
- 1:29:03Speaker 25: I wake up every day and put my shoes on,
- 1:29:04Speaker 25: my pants on, get ready out the door, my role
- 1:29:07Speaker 25: in city council is to make sure that I am
- 1:29:09Speaker 25: in service of people.
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: I am accessible, I am available, and I will make.
- 1:29:12Speaker 25: Sure that my number one job is to serve people
- 1:29:15Speaker 25: and be about people, not about the profit, not about
- 1:29:19Speaker 25: the business, not about the exploitation. It is about being
- 1:29:22Speaker 25: transparent and being about people. The number one agenda number
- 1:29:25Speaker 25: one problem, the number one call it the constituent point
- 1:29:28Speaker 25: for service in my area in three three one eight
- 1:29:31Speaker 25: is instability. And I say that plankly to say instability
- 1:29:35Speaker 25: is the issue in the agenda point because three three
- 1:29:38Speaker 25: one eight is Howell Mill three'll three one eight is
- 1:29:41Speaker 25: also West Midtown, the interlock. If you've been to these places,
- 1:29:44Speaker 25: pretty nice parts of town, you know it's given Buckhead vibes.
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: It's real nice.
- 1:29:48Speaker 25: You got sexy sushi, you got you got young professionals,
- 1:29:51Speaker 25: you walking your dog down the street.
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: You're enjoying it.
- 1:29:53Speaker 25: Life is good. Skyrise, Florida, Celin windows. You're enjoying three
- 1:29:57Speaker 25: three one eight. But three three one eight is also
- 1:30:00Speaker 25: James Jackson Parkway and Donnalie Hollowell BankIt which is arguably
- 1:30:03Speaker 25: probably the worst intersection in Atlanta, is still three h
- 1:30:07Speaker 25: three one eight, and it's about ten minutes away. And
- 1:30:09Speaker 25: you've got prime, you've got poverty, you've got homelessness, you've
- 1:30:14Speaker 25: got no infrastructure. You drive over there, it's like literally
- 1:30:17Speaker 25: like the road falls up under you. You have no
- 1:30:19Speaker 25: street lights, you have no sidewalks, you got overgrown grass.
- 1:30:23Speaker 25: The infrastructure and the landscape is non existent. There are
- 1:30:26Speaker 25: no economic drivers, there are no businesses, There is no community,
- 1:30:30Speaker 25: there's no neighborhood associations. You wouldn't be caught dead walking
- 1:30:32Speaker 25: your dog over there, because you might not have a
- 1:30:34Speaker 25: dog when you come out there. And so that's the gap, right,
- 1:30:38Speaker 25: And so when we talk about instability, what I'm saying
- 1:30:40Speaker 25: is the difference of three or three one eight at
- 1:30:44Speaker 25: James Jackson Parkway in DLH is very different than the
- 1:30:48Speaker 25: three on three one eight in West Midtown or the
- 1:30:51Speaker 25: three H three one eight at Bolton and Morris Mill.
- 1:30:54Speaker 25: And so understanding that rising tides lifts all boats and
- 1:30:59Speaker 25: what's good for or the southern part of three or
- 1:31:01Speaker 25: three one eight is even better for the nicer northern
- 1:31:05Speaker 25: part of three or three eight. And so that's the agenda.
- 1:31:08Speaker 25: And what that really looks like is if you had
- 1:31:10Speaker 25: a home that was three bedroom, two bathroom and you
- 1:31:12Speaker 25: lived Morris Bolton, and your home was worth a half
- 1:31:16Speaker 25: a million dollars. If you had that same home on
- 1:31:19Speaker 25: that same Georgia clay in that grass with the wood
- 1:31:21Speaker 25: and stone, same exact home, no differences, and it was
- 1:31:24Speaker 25: on Hollywood Road closer to the bankhead, you'd be lucky
- 1:31:28Speaker 25: if it was worth one hundred grand. So instability is
- 1:31:30Speaker 25: our largest problem that we're looking to solve, because that
- 1:31:33Speaker 25: translates into schools, into infrastructure, and then all the way
- 1:31:37Speaker 25: down to your quality of life.
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: What do you say to the constituent that's on that
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: southern end that feels like the political ear only lends
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: itself to those who have a tax base to contribute,
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: I say, and this is I'm going to sound like
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: a politician, but I gotta say it. Vote.
- 1:31:58Speaker 25: I'm and I got to be that dry in that
- 1:32:01Speaker 25: bland and just say vote. The reason why I'm saying
- 1:32:05Speaker 25: vote is because the squeaky wheel gets the oil. And
- 1:32:09Speaker 25: what that means is that if you are not making
- 1:32:12Speaker 25: a voice heard right, because it would be different if
- 1:32:15Speaker 25: folks saying voting, but they going out and they calling
- 1:32:17Speaker 25: a council person, and they going to the legislative and
- 1:32:20Speaker 25: they're going to the meetings and they're making sure people
- 1:32:22Speaker 25: know they're joining the MPU calls. But if you don't
- 1:32:24Speaker 25: join the NPU calls because you got to work, and
- 1:32:25Speaker 25: you don't go protest or put your voice out there
- 1:32:28Speaker 25: let it be known or call in and say what
- 1:32:30Speaker 25: things need to be fixed. If you're not a part
- 1:32:32Speaker 25: of that process and you don't vote, you are virtually
- 1:32:35Speaker 25: invisible to the system and the process. And I say
- 1:32:39Speaker 25: vote plainly because when it is time to service the community,
- 1:32:44Speaker 25: and when funds come from general and they come down
- 1:32:46Speaker 25: out of the budget and city councilman is now supposed
- 1:32:48Speaker 25: to point his magic wand do the things you think
- 1:32:51Speaker 25: of city councilman as the congressional person or the or
- 1:32:54Speaker 25: the you know, call it the governor of the area, right,
- 1:32:57Speaker 25: or maybe even just the senator while the main as
- 1:33:00Speaker 25: a president, if my job to take care of my area,
- 1:33:02Speaker 25: my turf. When I look at okay, well, who are
- 1:33:05Speaker 25: the people that are gonna hold me accountabill hold me responsible?
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: The squeaky wiel gets the oil.
- 1:33:09Speaker 25: Because if this side of town is the only town
- 1:33:11Speaker 25: that votes, and I'm a career politician, I'm gonna just show.
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: Up with the folks who voted there, or folks who
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: tell me what they want.
- 1:33:17Speaker 25: If you don't even show up and tell me what
- 1:33:18Speaker 25: you want, and you don't go and participate in your
- 1:33:21Speaker 25: voice heard you are, you're sometimes visibly invisible. And I
- 1:33:26Speaker 25: say this, and I've said this from the very beginning,
- 1:33:28Speaker 25: instability is our issue, right, And that is because those
- 1:33:34Speaker 25: that have the least amount of needs currently in my
- 1:33:36Speaker 25: district get the most amount of service, and those with
- 1:33:39Speaker 25: the most amount of needs are virtually being ignored.
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: That's it. And why I would I've been wanting to
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: ask of someone on the political scale, why are we
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: still having to basically beg people to vote in a
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: sense like the momentum of it. Yeah, has been around
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: for you know, the last two decades, and it seems
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: like the idea never can have staying power. It seems
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: we'll find some reason where is it a win loss
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: because we didn't win, then we fall off and not
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: understand like you're saying that, we're still looking to see
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: who is voting, where they're voted. That doesn't mean you
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: always win, but we do see that two thirds of
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: this community got up and voted. That's correct. So that's it.
- 1:34:33Speaker 25: And so let me just break down some simple math
- 1:34:35Speaker 25: for you so everybody can understand it. We'll keep this
- 1:34:37Speaker 25: real simple. Every district in Atlanta roughly fifty thousand people.
- 1:34:42Speaker 25: Mine's got forty eight thousand or so. Let's say it's
- 1:34:44Speaker 25: called simple math. Fifty thousand. Of those fifty thousand, let's
- 1:34:48Speaker 25: say thirty thousand are registered to vote.
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: I already lost fourth of my folks.
- 1:34:52Speaker 25: They're not even registered to vote, and they may not
- 1:34:54Speaker 25: be regis to vote for a variant of reasons. But
- 1:34:55Speaker 25: it doesn't matter. Now I got thirty thousand people. Out
- 1:34:58Speaker 25: of the thirty thousand people whom are registered or to vote,
- 1:35:01Speaker 25: about thirty percent of those actually will come out to vote.
- 1:35:04Speaker 25: So now ten percent of those people, or excuse me,
- 1:35:06Speaker 25: ten thousand people of the thirty thousand and thirty thousand
- 1:35:09Speaker 25: of the fifty thousand people in an area where fifty
- 1:35:12Speaker 25: thousand people live, about ten thousand people will regularly vote.
- 1:35:15Speaker 25: But that's if they like the candidate, and if it's
- 1:35:17Speaker 25: like momentum groundswell and people are talking about the election.
- 1:35:20Speaker 25: On average, you might only have seventy five percent of
- 1:35:23Speaker 25: that number. Seventy five hundred, seven thousand people most likely
- 1:35:26Speaker 25: will determine my election. You got an area of fifty
- 1:35:29Speaker 25: thousand people where seven thousand people will determine the election.
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: Why is that?
- 1:35:33Speaker 25: Because you're asking why why are we still talking about
- 1:35:35Speaker 25: getting people vote? Why havent people just voted? Like it's
- 1:35:37Speaker 25: not a big deal, Just go vote. The issue is
- 1:35:39Speaker 25: is that if we wanted to make it easy or
- 1:35:43Speaker 25: easier people to vote, we would have already done it.
- 1:35:45Speaker 25: We have AI I shouldn't be able to pull up
- 1:35:47Speaker 25: my phone and vote and be like, oh loick it in,
- 1:35:49Speaker 25: I voted. But that democratized the process too much and
- 1:35:55Speaker 25: you could say there could be voter fraud or whatever
- 1:35:57Speaker 25: the issues are. Vote when the regular has to go
- 1:36:02Speaker 25: to work and fight to stay alive. Those working jobs
- 1:36:04Speaker 25: hours are during voting times, so I can't not go
- 1:36:08Speaker 25: to work to go vote, and I can't just go
- 1:36:11Speaker 25: vote and not go to work. I got to figure
- 1:36:13Speaker 25: out what I'm going to do in the system. In
- 1:36:15Speaker 25: most times, those who are actually voting, or those that
- 1:36:18Speaker 25: have the time and the resources to actually go vote,
- 1:36:21Speaker 25: it's almost like an old black panther tail. They gave
- 1:36:25Speaker 25: away free breakfast programs in the morning because people needed food,
- 1:36:29Speaker 25: and they said to themselves, well, if my community is
- 1:36:32Speaker 25: unable to feed themselves, then they're not going to participate
- 1:36:35Speaker 25: in civics. And so that's where we are. In a
- 1:36:38Speaker 25: space in time now where people are trying to take
- 1:36:40Speaker 25: care of their basic necessities and that's consuming all of
- 1:36:43Speaker 25: their time. And if I don't have the available time
- 1:36:45Speaker 25: and or resource to give an extra hour in line
- 1:36:48Speaker 25: or thirty minutes or go out of my way, voting
- 1:36:50Speaker 25: precinct may not be by the job. I am not
- 1:36:54Speaker 25: in a space where I can inconvenience my life to
- 1:36:56Speaker 25: take away from bringing the making home to go vote,
- 1:36:59Speaker 25: and voting is inconvenience, and so.
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: That's why we're still talking about this.
- 1:37:02Speaker 25: And also too, I may vote, and I might lose,
- 1:37:04Speaker 25: and now I'm a cynic and I may vote, and
- 1:37:07Speaker 25: maybe I wanted to vote, but I'm like the candidate,
- 1:37:09Speaker 25: so I'm not going to vote at all. Or maybe
- 1:37:11Speaker 25: there's so much fighting back and forth between the Red
- 1:37:13Speaker 25: guys and the Blue guys that we just throw our
- 1:37:15Speaker 25: hands up.
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: And say nothing's going to get done anyway. Speaking of that,
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: one of our lower listeners, Charlie, wanted to know, what's
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: your political preference. I'm assuming your political affiliation, what's your party?
- 1:37:25Speaker 21: You know what?
- 1:37:26Speaker 25: And thank you for asking. I say this, I am
- 1:37:28Speaker 25: not someone who identifies with either side of the tracks.
- 1:37:32Speaker 25: I won't to appear and say to you that I'm
- 1:37:33Speaker 25: a Republican because I'm not, and I want it and
- 1:37:35Speaker 25: say to you that I'm a Democrat or a core
- 1:37:37Speaker 25: original Democrat, because I'm not either. I'm honestly a moderate
- 1:37:41Speaker 25: and I am a moderate in the middle, and if
- 1:37:43Speaker 25: I had to pick a side, I'm going to be
- 1:37:45Speaker 25: a moderate Democrat. And that's mainly because there are issues
- 1:37:49Speaker 25: I think that are glaring obviously wrong with the Red guys,
- 1:37:53Speaker 25: but there are a lot of things that I don't
- 1:37:55Speaker 25: agree with all the way with the Democrats because shortly
- 1:37:59Speaker 25: that the base has got a little too large, and
- 1:38:01Speaker 25: we've been talking about things on the Blue side that
- 1:38:03Speaker 25: is not a core issue, and when we spend times
- 1:38:05Speaker 25: magnifying and marketing things that are not core issues, we
- 1:38:08Speaker 25: lose our base. And now we're in a place where
- 1:38:09Speaker 25: we haven't talked and had the right message.
- 1:38:11Speaker 3: Speaking to that. We've seen several people from the Republican
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: Party here in Georgia, namely Marjorie Taylor Green, aligned with
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: President Donald Trump, and sometimes their politics seems to be restrictive,
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: more of a for us against them kind of thing,
- 1:38:28Speaker 3: and that's resonated with a lot of people and that
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: who actually get out to vote. Have you ever considered
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: changing your political style? Have Democrats thought about sending someone
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: that's a little more rough and tumble into the fray
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: of politics?
- 1:38:44Speaker 25: I'd say one hundred percent. And I'd also say to
- 1:38:46Speaker 25: you that I am not married right to anyone but
- 1:38:51Speaker 25: my wife. And what I mean when I say that
- 1:38:54Speaker 25: is that I am about up and down. I'm not
- 1:38:57Speaker 25: necessarily about left and right right cause if I can
- 1:39:01Speaker 25: work across the quote unquote proverbial aisle to get something done,
- 1:39:04Speaker 25: it doesn't matter if you're green, if you're blue, if
- 1:39:08Speaker 25: you're black, if you're red. All that really matters is
- 1:39:11Speaker 25: solving problems and providing service to the people that actually
- 1:39:14Speaker 25: need it. When we spend so much time going back
- 1:39:16Speaker 25: and forth, we spend very little time going up and
- 1:39:19Speaker 25: down and talking about the problems that we need to solve.
- 1:39:21Speaker 25: And I say, this is a very vague example, and
- 1:39:25Speaker 25: I'm going to paraphrase here, right, but this is the context,
- 1:39:28Speaker 25: lame interns, so people can understand. We gave up large
- 1:39:31Speaker 25: portions of Medicaid, medicare, access to healthcare for a lot
- 1:39:37Speaker 25: of people in this country, so that those that have
- 1:39:41Speaker 25: large sums of wealth, millionaires, billionaires are able to get
- 1:39:44Speaker 25: free jets and free private planes, one hundred percent tax deductible, retroactive,
- 1:39:49Speaker 25: one hundred percent of depreciation. And these are things that
- 1:39:52Speaker 25: you have to realize. Is that we spend so much
- 1:39:54Speaker 25: time arguing about who's right and who's wrong, and who's left,
- 1:39:58Speaker 25: and who's green, or excuse me, who's bread, who's blue,
- 1:40:00Speaker 25: that we are losing track on being in charge of
- 1:40:04Speaker 25: our destiny has to be with the mindset of economics
- 1:40:10Speaker 25: of today. When we take away people being able to
- 1:40:13Speaker 25: have basic rights and basic needs or threaten those so
- 1:40:16Speaker 25: that those that have the most can get ten million
- 1:40:20Speaker 25: dollars tax deducted on the airplanes. Something isn't right, and
- 1:40:23Speaker 25: so for me, it isn't about where we land on
- 1:40:26Speaker 25: the scale, although I know you got to pick a
- 1:40:28Speaker 25: side at some point. If I pick the side today,
- 1:40:30Speaker 25: I'm going to be a moderate Democrat. And what that
- 1:40:33Speaker 25: means is that there has to be an adult in
- 1:40:34Speaker 25: the room to have a responsible fiscal financial conversation because
- 1:40:38Speaker 25: the realities of the day in twenty twenty five, it's
- 1:40:40Speaker 25: all about the money.
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: Yes, well, we are our sports show and you do
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: love basketball. Oh, absolutely, so we're going to have to
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: end on a sports question.
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: Thank you? Are you ready? I am for this.
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: It's one of the largest sports questions in the history
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: of sports.
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: Oh, I know where we're going, Jordan or Lebron? Quick
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: quick QUI quick quick quck quick quick quick quick quick
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: qui quick quit quick quick quick quick quick wick answer
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: right now, quick quick quick Listen.
- 1:41:14Speaker 25: I'm gonna I'm gonna keep it real, real, short and simple, right, Lebron, James.
- 1:41:21Speaker 25: And I hate to do that because if you would
- 1:41:23Speaker 25: have asked me this, if you would have asked me
- 1:41:26Speaker 25: this in twenty twenty, I would have told you, Michael Jordan,
- 1:41:30Speaker 25: I gotta give it to Lebron James because Lebron James
- 1:41:34Speaker 25: is doing things that people have never seen before. Also too,
- 1:41:37Speaker 25: Lebron's playing in a much more difficult atmosphere. Also too,
- 1:41:41Speaker 25: Lebron James has much better teammates. Also too, Lebron James
- 1:41:46Speaker 25: has done things that people said he would never be
- 1:41:48Speaker 25: able to do at the age of forty Is he
- 1:41:50Speaker 25: forty five? I don't know forty one, right, And so
- 1:41:54Speaker 25: to be able to put up the level of numbers
- 1:41:56Speaker 25: you're putting up for the time that you're putting it up,
- 1:41:57Speaker 25: I'm a real NBA guy. We can get in the
- 1:41:59Speaker 25: stats and dive into my man is superman if and
- 1:42:03Speaker 25: I'll say this, if if Lebron James would have had
- 1:42:06Speaker 25: Scottie Pippen, he would have been able to have the
- 1:42:10Speaker 25: level of success on NBA Finals to streak the streak.
- 1:42:13Speaker 25: And so I got to give him the greatest of
- 1:42:15Speaker 25: all time because of the player. Lebron James can play
- 1:42:17Speaker 25: every position. I mean we're talking about individual players.
- 1:42:19Speaker 3: If we talk your guy gonna have to put his
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: camera and work I'm just telling you because.
- 1:42:29Speaker 25: Not now to that to that defense though, right if
- 1:42:32Speaker 25: we're gonna say who's the goat, right, I don't think
- 1:42:35Speaker 25: that it's fair to compare the goat in the NBA
- 1:42:38Speaker 25: when we talk about rings versus overall talent, who's the
- 1:42:42Speaker 25: most skilled and who's the most talented are a little
- 1:42:45Speaker 25: bit of a two different questions. But I think if
- 1:42:47Speaker 25: I have to pick today, because what if Lebron plays
- 1:42:50Speaker 25: two more years and he wins another ring, are you
- 1:42:52Speaker 25: gonna say he's not the greatest of all time? Because
- 1:42:54Speaker 25: I just it's it's I'm I'm convinced at this point.
- 1:42:57Speaker 25: I'm a believer. At this point, I can't.
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: I hate to do it.
- 1:43:01Speaker 25: But Lebron James is he's still hooping today. Yeah, I'm
- 1:43:07Speaker 25: scared with this guy because we appreciate you coming in
- 1:43:13Speaker 25: and helping us out with the show. You are welcome anytime.
- 1:43:17Speaker 25: If you think sports is in your soul, it is
- 1:43:20Speaker 25: We're the place to be.
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: Uh. And I love your answer about Lebron James.
- 1:43:25Speaker 25: When NBA season kicks off, I love to get in
- 1:43:27Speaker 25: here and give you my predictions because it's all I do.
- 1:43:29Speaker 25: I got the four screens going I got the split
- 1:43:32Speaker 25: screen TV. I'm watching four games at once. I got
- 1:43:35Speaker 25: you know, league pass, I'm listening. We could dive in,
- 1:43:38Speaker 25: you know what I mean, and we give you some
- 1:43:40Speaker 25: political idea. We just swap back and forth. Tell me
- 1:43:43Speaker 25: how we're gonna do it. Let's let's make it. Let's
- 1:43:45Speaker 25: change the community. Like one Lebron James basketball player at
- 1:43:49Speaker 25: the time. I'm not really a Lebron James stand. I'm
- 1:43:52Speaker 25: just saying it's got great I mean, but but Jordan
- 1:43:54Speaker 25: is the goat, right, the grace of all time. It's
- 1:43:56Speaker 25: still it for debate. If if Lebron gives me one
- 1:43:59Speaker 25: more ring, we're gonna have to just sit it down,
- 1:44:01Speaker 25: just one more wing. You gotta sit it down, man,
- 1:44:03Speaker 25: That's all I'm saying.
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: But let me say this.
- 1:44:05Speaker 25: Last election is November fourth. I am on the very
- 1:44:10Speaker 25: same ballot as the mayor's race in the local Atlanta

- 1:46:54Speaker 3: And now back to the sports job, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:47:06Speaker 27: Between long an say you can see a sports jain't
- 1:47:21Speaker 27: I'll sing even Joanny, welcome.
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: Back to this boy, shock shock this wor shock winge
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: ken do even like to think? District nine City councilmen,
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: as you said, get out and vote. Charge Bougeoir a
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: great guy and I love we were just talking about.
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: I love a politician that will answer the question. The
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: answer does not have to be.
- 1:47:48Speaker 15: For me.
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: My problem with politician is when you politic the answer, Well,
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: I asked you a question and you don't answer the
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: question because I think that's for me, because I want
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: to believe right or wrong you're going to implement, and
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: some of that starts with that. You answer the question.
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: The bad producer, you ask him a question and and
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: he wants to enagle it into something else.
- 1:48:13Speaker 3: Politics the thing and when you ask a question. The
- 1:48:16Speaker 3: thing about the answer is you have to have an
- 1:48:19Speaker 3: answer that comes along with a question. But answer sometimes,
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: like when you're looking for this, I ask you, do
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: you like strawberry ice cream? A chocolate. I just want
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: one of those two. The American dairy farmer has market
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: super hard on the front lines to keep all Americans fed,
- 1:48:37Speaker 3: and they do a lot of hard work. And sometimes
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: when we think about flavor ice cream, flavors are like
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: the flavors of America. They're diverse and they come in
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: so many different Criss a great answer, but I didn't
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: get an answer.
- 1:48:51Speaker 9: No.
- 1:48:52Speaker 6: Yes, next question, yes you did, because that's a great
- 1:48:55Speaker 6: answer because you don't want to offend the person that
- 1:48:57Speaker 6: might want to give you that.
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: Political things stephen A and Michelle Obama, the cat fighting?
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: What are they cat fighting over? Do you any of
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: you guys know?
- 1:49:06Speaker 3: Podcast? She said she she was critical of ESPN. Okay, and.
- 1:49:13Speaker 5: Stephen A fired back, Yeah. Basically she's saying that. She
- 1:49:20Speaker 5: she it was like hard to watch ESPN or watch
- 1:49:23Speaker 5: First Take because everyone's.
- 1:49:25Speaker 3: Just it's like real housewives, Real housewives. That's what she
- 1:49:30Speaker 3: compared it to Real Housewives. Everybody's bickering and going back
- 1:49:34Speaker 3: and forth and nobody's letting anybody else talk. And what's
- 1:49:37Speaker 3: the difference is what she said, what's the difference between
- 1:49:40Speaker 3: that and First Take?
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: And this is what I would offer someone Likeael stephen
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: A or even the ESPN or even what I try
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: to do is you take Michelle Obama's age, which Michelle
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: Obama would be sixty, that means that from the conception
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: of ESPN, which she would have been eighteen years old
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: when it started, And so that means that her understanding
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: of ESPN started where it was sports, just sports. It
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: wasn't about your opinion of sport. Now, it was just
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: here are the fact, here are the stats. Remember when
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: the stats told the story? Yes, didn't having to do
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: about yes, how do you feel? Or play the Chicago
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: another another right for her to say that would be
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: kind of what we were saying earlier. We need to
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: uh subtract a lot of this and let's get back
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: a little more.
- 1:50:42Speaker 15: To me.
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: We've turned a lot of sports into the national choir,
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: and there's a place for that. But I think people
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: they've they've taken all mainstream sport and maybe.
- 1:50:56Speaker 11: To it.
- 1:50:56Speaker 3: Yes, that's I believe that that has happened. So you're
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: having a whole show that has nothing to do but
- 1:51:02Speaker 3: full opinion of something, and that's what we're talking about.
- 1:51:06Speaker 3: They're giving how many every day you wake up something
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: about well, Lebron felt this about Luca. How do we
- 1:51:14Speaker 3: know all that eight sources? What does this mean?
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: What does this mean for Lebron's future? You mean the
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: future where he's about to retire. What future would you
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: be liking to talk about?
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: People are referring to him our online listeners. Uh, Keith
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: Ramsey refers to him as SaaS essay, Yes, stephen A
- 1:51:41Speaker 3: Smith And maybe that's why him and Morchelle Obama a Vickery.
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: And we and we kind of saw where there was
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: a corner that Stephen A started turning. Yes, he did that,
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: even the athletes like Kevin Durant pushing Yes, when they
- 1:52:01Speaker 1: started pushing back, I think that's when this.
- 1:52:05Speaker 3: This trench new.
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: Directed gotten dig where. Okay, now you're going a little
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: too far. You're trying to you can talk about Kevin
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: Durant to a point as a man who hasn't but
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: then you're getting where you're talking like you took the
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: last second shot, right, Oh, he's a bomb for not
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: taking it.
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: Well, how many shots have you ever taken period, let
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: alone in the last second Michelle Obama? Okay, I see
- 1:52:37Speaker 3: Michelle in your second act having a little well she
- 1:52:40Speaker 3: got secret service so she ain't worried about no clap ack.
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: She from Chicago, the rock from that district, from the
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: district that they ain't worried about none of that.
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: Come on, stephen A, see some id you got to do?
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: Like say you got a call and what do you
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: say the people do call? I'll have to check check.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: We'll be back to Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: Sage of the mind love the first sight should imagine.
- 1:53:22Speaker 8: Jn't Go Away or of the Sports Jock Show with
- 1:53:25Speaker 8: Wayne Dantidius coming up next.
- 1:53:30Speaker 15: I'm Scarlet Johansson. My family relied on public assistance to
- 1:53:34Speaker 15: help provide meals for us. These meals fueled my involvement
- 1:53:37Speaker 15: in theater and the arts as a child, which fostered
- 1:53:39Speaker 15: my love for acting. The Feeding American Network of food
- 1:53:42Speaker 15: banks helps millions of people put food on the table.
- 1:53:45Speaker 15: You can join the Movement to End Hunger by donating, volunteering,
- 1:53:48Speaker 15: and advocating because when people are fed, futures are nourished.
- 1:53:53Speaker 15: Join the Movement to Ending America dot org slash Act
- 1:53:56Speaker 15: now brought.
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: To you by Feeding America and the ad Council. And
- 1:54:01Speaker 3: now back to the Sports John I'm Wayne Candy it's
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: time for the school board.
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: When we put a spin on LFE and sports and
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: how they intermingle on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Candy, it.
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: Ain't what to sell.
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Sports Shock shall I'm the sports
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: Shock Wayne Candy, As I said, exciting, we're grolling into
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: really the first weekend of preseason games. Everybody can try
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: out their new recipes in the backyard before they start
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: serving them. Try to work them out now, don't don't
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: don't wait till September the fifth to start practicing. As
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: as my family said, don't practice on things. Don't practice
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: on Thanksgiving. Yeah, don't don't.
- 1:55:15Speaker 3: You don't cook things on Thanksgiving? You ain't. You ain't
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: never cook before. Yeah, I think I can do potato salad,
- 1:55:23Speaker 3: not today, that's today. You don't think you can do
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: potto dressing. So a lot of teams will get some
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: looks at a lot of young players. As we talked
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: about shadeor Sanders, we talked about Lands Trade Lance last week,
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: getting in and that's what you'll probably get a lot
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: of backups quality only three person games. So the first
- 1:55:47Speaker 3: game is it's more now this used to be more
- 1:55:50Speaker 3: of game what you would see game four. Now it's
- 1:55:54Speaker 3: in game one because two and three teams are going
- 1:55:57Speaker 3: to start putting their players that they're going to one
- 1:56:00Speaker 3: on the field. X. Miami staffer has been charged felony
- 1:56:07Speaker 3: stole over four hundred game one jerseys? Is this crime everywhere?
- 1:56:16Speaker 3: When did this it the Miami Heat? When did this
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: hit you?
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: When?
- 1:56:20Speaker 3: When did you start this crime spree? Because you sound
- 1:56:23Speaker 3: like you got a degree from Colombia Sports and a
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: master's from Brown and you went down and you got
- 1:56:30Speaker 3: this job with the Heat, or you went to South
- 1:56:33Speaker 3: Beach for a trip and never went back to Brown
- 1:56:37Speaker 3: or something and you got a job with the Heat. Yeah,
- 1:56:40Speaker 3: and then you decided you were going to start stealing
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: jerseys to the tune of four hundred dollars. And you
- 1:56:46Speaker 3: call your mom and say what on this call? Somebody
- 1:56:49Speaker 3: please tell me what you tell mama? Mom? Take that
- 1:56:51Speaker 3: black trans bag in. This is the day Kindly Correctional Center.
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: And we have a call from Lands. Hey, Mama, this
- 1:57:05Speaker 3: Lands Lands, Lands. How you doing? How's the weather down
- 1:57:09Speaker 3: there in South Beach? I can't see it, Mama listening
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: what you're doing? Because I heard they said they kind
- 1:57:14Speaker 3: of correction What are you doing down there y'all. Y'all
- 1:57:16Speaker 3: doing some kind of charity event, and no, Mama, listen.
- 1:57:19Speaker 3: I need you to listen real close to and got
- 1:57:22Speaker 3: time to ask no questions. I need you going doing
- 1:57:24Speaker 3: another statue of Dwayne Wade. That that last one was terrible.
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: I know, Mama, I know I didn't have nothing to
- 1:57:29Speaker 3: do with that. I need you to listen to me, mama. Okay, pardon, okay,
- 1:57:33Speaker 3: go in the base. Daddy outside he cutting the grass
- 1:57:35Speaker 3: right now, but he'll be in in just a second. Okay. Well,
- 1:57:38Speaker 3: when he come in, y'all go in the basement. And
- 1:57:41Speaker 3: it's a box in the basement. I need y'all throw
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: that box out. It's a big box, big, big, big,
- 1:57:48Speaker 3: better box, the box of the jersey that you said, Mama.
- 1:57:52Speaker 3: I ain't say nothing what was in it. I need
- 1:57:55Speaker 3: you to listen, No say nothing, Mama. I just need
- 1:57:59Speaker 3: you to go in the basement in and throw away
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: my box.
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: That's all I need you to do, right now, right now,
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: after we get off the phone, Okay, I'll let your
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: daddy know that we're going to get rid of the box.
- 1:58:09Speaker 3: But we already took the jerseys out. Mama, saying that
- 1:58:17Speaker 3: you can't say the Jay words Avenue seriously, good command
- 1:58:20Speaker 3: you We just we just crime.
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: Now how many years did he work? And I'm saying
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: and I know y'all be sitting like sports shock is
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: just on. We seem to have decided that crime is
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: an occupation.
- 1:58:32Speaker 14: It is.
- 1:58:34Speaker 3: I mean, I don't want to be old, and I
- 1:58:36Speaker 3: hate when I say things. I really do when I say.
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: Remember, but there was a time where crime people that
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: was in crime. It was more of a last resort.
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: They had never really seen another option, right right, you can't.
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: This is my They was the people who signed up
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: for the Miami heat job but never got it. So
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: they went into the crime there and see so there.
- 1:59:01Speaker 1: I think that what happened was there is a shift.
- 1:59:03Speaker 3: There. Used to be a time when we saw right
- 1:59:06Speaker 3: and wrong as tied to crime. If it wasn't yours
- 1:59:10Speaker 3: and you took it, that's wrong and that's stealing. But
- 1:59:14Speaker 3: now we have what we call victimless crimes. Well, you
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: can commit a crime. It wasn't nobody really hurt by
- 1:59:21Speaker 3: that crime, bro, I'll come home, man, just o four
- 1:59:24Speaker 3: hundred jerseys, Come on, man, ain't nobody really need them?
- 1:59:28Speaker 3: Four hundred ain't nobody really need. How many years was
- 1:59:31Speaker 3: he working there? It's only four hundred. They can make
- 1:59:34Speaker 3: four hundred jersey. We can make more game war now
- 1:59:38Speaker 3: that I set that's twenty thousand. You were trying one hundred,
- 1:59:42Speaker 3: So you were trying to actually live. You weren't just
- 1:59:44Speaker 3: trying to pay like a bill off. No, No, that's
- 1:59:46Speaker 3: what I'm saying. You you got by the time you
- 1:59:49Speaker 3: got to jersey number twenty two, you were fully committed. Yeah,
- 1:59:54Speaker 3: I'm finn to get some money. Now, four hundred plus
- 1:59:58Speaker 3: jerseys and you did he work work there? How did
- 2:00:01Speaker 3: you get that many? Article I read it didn't say
- 2:00:03Speaker 3: how was he there doing? It was game was It
- 2:00:07Speaker 3: was some other things too. It was it was quite
- 2:00:09Speaker 3: a big balls, balls and shoes. So you might have
- 2:00:13Speaker 3: some d Wade, you might have some bo washing jerseys.
- 2:00:17Speaker 3: You might have run what's your boy? That just went
- 2:00:20Speaker 3: to Jimmy Jimmy buckets, Tyler Hero. It was some number.
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: It was close maybe to a million dollars worth of
- 2:00:28Speaker 1: memorabilia kind of stuff that he stole.
- 2:00:31Speaker 3: That's why he did it, all memorab But it's a victimless.
- 2:00:36Speaker 3: People seemed to.
- 2:00:37Speaker 6: Be like crime is an occupation but they were game
- 2:00:40Speaker 6: war jersey wore what they no game jerseys, no game
- 2:00:47Speaker 6: warn jerseys.
- 2:00:48Speaker 3: It says it says the property of the Miami Heat.
- 2:00:51Speaker 3: Where where say that?
- 2:00:52Speaker 1: It says inside the jersey. Actually I didn't look. I
- 2:00:56Speaker 1: was just looking at the name on the back. I
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: thought it was we are n sat there for a
- 2:01:04Speaker 1: few years, and we are and my mom definitely wouldn't
- 2:01:08Speaker 1: come getting me out of jail for that. We are
- 2:01:11Speaker 1: in the ocean. The truth is he will throw your
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: in the ocean.
- 2:01:17Speaker 2: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports jug
- 2:01:21Speaker 2: Show with Dayne Gandy.
- 2:01:50Speaker 3: When you decided an ocean to get just watched out
- 2:01:52Speaker 3: testament and defend.
- 2:01:53Speaker 1: Would like to thank you for tuning in to today's show,
- 2:01:56Speaker 1: any segment, any hour, anytime that you gave us this week.
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: We appreciate it. Thank you. District nine.
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: I remember in November election Charles Boudoir, Ditrick nine city
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: councilmen on the docket. I'm not gonna just say go vote,
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: but go vote, do some research and stop having people
- 2:02:22Speaker 1: beg you to vote.
- 2:02:24Speaker 3: You just vote. It counts.
- 2:02:26Speaker 1: It might not always end up with your the person
- 2:02:29Speaker 1: you voted for wins, but it's a lot that goes in.
- 2:02:33Speaker 1: It lets people know what their community is about. But
- 2:02:38Speaker 1: please get out and thank you Charles for coming on
- 2:02:41Speaker 1: the show today. Going in the ocean smelling sauce. Why
- 2:02:49Speaker 1: y'all on the sideline. NFL early in the week tot
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: the NFL players that they couldn't use smelling sauce on
- 2:02:59Speaker 1: the side line.
- 2:03:02Speaker 3: The ammonia pills that we've.
- 2:03:03Speaker 1: Been doing since the seventies, your papa little monia. Sniff
- 2:03:08Speaker 1: it in wake up some day and if you're real good,
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: you put about ten of them in a water bottle,
- 2:03:16Speaker 1: break them, put them in the water bottle, shake them up,
- 2:03:20Speaker 1: and hit it like Big Kenny used to do in
- 2:03:23Speaker 1: the late eighties. Just hit it the late eighty minutes ago.
- 2:03:28Speaker 1: And now y'all want to ban it because what somebody
- 2:03:30Speaker 1: saw it.
- 2:03:31Speaker 3: On the sideline? Where is the love for the player?
- 2:03:35Speaker 3: Why are you in my business?
- 2:03:37Speaker 15: On?
- 2:03:37Speaker 3: Why how I get up for the game?
- 2:03:40Speaker 1: Now you're retracting NFL talking about well you can use
- 2:03:44Speaker 1: as long as you bring it. Y'all are a trip
- 2:03:50Speaker 1: Like I'm gonna go buy some ammonia capsules. No, I'm
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: gonna go right like I've been doing in the mid
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: tent and get it, getting me a little here, go out.
- 2:04:00Speaker 3: On the field.
- 2:04:01Speaker 1: I just feel like NFL, you don't have to weigh
- 2:04:06Speaker 1: in on everything. Forget the public. I know y'all so
- 2:04:09Speaker 1: money driven. Some fan looked on the sideline as nosy
- 2:04:14Speaker 1: people do and want to know why George Kittles is
- 2:04:18Speaker 1: over there sniffing a cup. He was getting a little monia.
- 2:04:23Speaker 1: We've been doing it forever.
- 2:04:24Speaker 3: That's about way back, even when I was in college.
- 2:04:28Speaker 3: And it wakes you up.
- 2:04:30Speaker 1: It only lasts about three plays, but it does get
- 2:04:34Speaker 1: your geeked for a minute.
- 2:04:36Speaker 26: Up.
- 2:04:37Speaker 3: Fuck NFL, fucked up clank spaceships and banking right right
- 2:04:44Speaker 3: now now, I'd like to put out disclaimer.
- 2:04:47Speaker 1: Any young kids out there, uh don't don't go because
- 2:04:51Speaker 1: if you get sick.
- 2:04:52Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: The sports shot was not support sniffing ammonia caps. I say,
- 2:04:57Speaker 1: Dwight Gooding and man, that was a you hit him
- 2:05:00Speaker 1: in middle school for Big Kenny commands you Greg the
- 2:05:06Speaker 1: bad producing the sports shock. As we always say on Thursday,
- 2:05:09Speaker 1: We'll see you in the future.
- 2:05:11Speaker 3: Peace.
