- 0:19Speaker 2: I don't know how we're gonna do this show on
- 0:21Speaker 2: the heels of that Catch twenty two episode.
- 0:24Speaker 3: I really just kind of that was like I played
- 0:27Speaker 3: in the game, you know, Yeah, here are the footsteps honestly,
- 0:31Speaker 3: like they legitimately do. Like, who's hearing Bill's boys, Hills?
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:37Speaker 2: Are they just being nice to you?
- 0:38Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 0:38Speaker 5: Kicking off and overtime at the Jets, Harper's Harper's mouth,
- 0:42Speaker 5: take a kid off the practice squad and put them
- 0:43Speaker 5: back to return to punt in the fourth quarter in
- 0:45Speaker 5: a snowstorm, right could move? We're just gonna run Stephen
- 0:47Speaker 5: Jackson every play in Miami at the court got me
- 0:51Speaker 5: all riled up.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Cody just want to give a shout out to Alex
- 0:55Speaker 2: Barth for being a Bills hater on this network. The
- 0:58Speaker 2: glazing of Realish Allen from Evan and the o Gology.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Wouldn't it be nice for the Bills to win a
- 1:03Speaker 2: Super Bowl? For Mike gets old?
- 1:04Speaker 5: Alex Barth makes Fred kersh look like like a Bills
- 1:09Speaker 5: backer guy.
- 1:09Speaker 2: In our new segment for Wednesday, eyes on Evan talking.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Evan was talking a little bit.
- 1:15Speaker 6: I caught Evan talking to Milton Williams a little bit,
- 1:17Speaker 6: you know, go up and sailors on the Marcus Jones quietly.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Just a private, private party.
- 1:22Speaker 7: They're good guy.
- 1:23Speaker 5: Yeah, so we can talk on eleven.
- 1:28Speaker 2: This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:30Speaker 5: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
- 1:33Speaker 5: dot com.
- 1:36Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:40Speaker 2: at jo Lette Stadium. We made it through another week.
- 1:44Speaker 7: And Kevin and I are our company.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Will Oh, look at you with your your front quarter zips.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I look at you.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Good, good, good. You're wearing your boots.
- 1:52Speaker 3: That's my single.
- 1:52Speaker 7: I'm not wearing my boot.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You're not wearing your boots, broke on. That's nice.
- 1:56Speaker 7: Not doing any yard work today.
- 1:58Speaker 6: That first wear that maiden voyage are the wearing I
- 2:00Speaker 6: haven't done yet.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Oh okay, anyway, Yes, we love Brunt. Brunt is our official sponsor.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Uh we'll read about them later. But here we are
- 2:10Speaker 2: on Thursday, getting ready for a Sunday night game against
- 2:13Speaker 2: the Bills. We're excited and fording to Mike Rabel, they
- 2:17Speaker 2: are too. They understand like what this potentially could mean
- 2:21Speaker 2: and what it does mean for the team being on
- 2:24Speaker 2: national TV against their you know, the people that have
- 2:27Speaker 2: owned the division of late ever since the Patriots did,
- 2:31Speaker 2: it's been all Bills. So here's your chance to go
- 2:34Speaker 2: out there with your quarterback and show them what's for. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:39Speaker 2: show them yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 6: Soe Now, these are these are the games you you.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Measure up where you stack up.
- 2:45Speaker 6: And I don't want to put too much into it
- 2:47Speaker 6: because I think, you know, I think that's been a
- 2:48Speaker 6: big theme this week, everyone talking about like let's just
- 2:51Speaker 6: go up there and see how we stack up, you know,
- 2:52Speaker 6: and then you get in the game and it unfolds
- 2:55Speaker 6: a certain way, and then, you know, do you necessarily
- 2:57Speaker 6: feel like, yeah, they showed how they stack up.
- 2:58Speaker 1: No, they you know, they did.
- 3:00Speaker 6: This and they did that and that's how it affected
- 3:01Speaker 6: the game. But uh, a lot to be excited for.
- 3:04Speaker 6: I think with this game on Sunday night, we were
- 3:06Speaker 6: trying to when was the last time the Patriots were
- 3:08Speaker 6: on Sunday.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I always trying to wrack my brain for even Paul's
- 3:12Speaker 1: got that one probably two years ago.
- 3:15Speaker 6: I'll look it up a couple of years ago. I
- 3:17Speaker 6: haven't been a lot of primetimers. So, yeah, we gotta
- 3:19Speaker 6: get ready to step late. Paul, You ready for that?
- 3:22Speaker 2: Yeah, gotta be tough.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you guys have to start tonight right now.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Red Sox, we're getting here at three forty five.
- 3:29Speaker 3: What was us we had to Patriots?
- 3:33Speaker 5: That'll be about No, I'll get home a little before that. Yeah,
- 3:37Speaker 5: so it's like it wasn't eight.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Twenty twenty fifteen.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Someone in there.
- 3:42Speaker 6: Yeah, Alex is right though, the late Red Sox one tonight,
- 3:45Speaker 6: so it'll be a little bit.
- 3:48Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I get I'll my PM coffee, oh two thirty.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Will be to be in Buffalo on Sunday. It will
- 3:55Speaker 3: definitely be an afternoon coffee run.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I take a nap pre game nap Fred when we
- 4:02Speaker 2: had those late games. I'll do something in the morning,
- 4:04Speaker 2: and then I'll take a nap from like for a
- 4:06Speaker 2: morning run, from like you know, one to three, I'll
- 4:10Speaker 2: take a nap.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Oh.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I love naps. I haven't had one in many years.
- 4:14Speaker 5: But I don't remember the last I remember them. I
- 4:16Speaker 5: don't remember my last good night sleep either well, more
- 4:19Speaker 5: importantly for seven.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Where you guys, he's going on over there?
- 4:22Speaker 7: I get a lot on my mind, friend right well.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Staring up at the ceiling in the bed with the
- 4:28Speaker 2: diet pepsy, what did it go all wrong? Get hit?
- 4:36Speaker 7: How did I get?
- 4:37Speaker 8: Well?
- 4:37Speaker 1: More important for where you were you eating? What's the
- 4:39Speaker 1: food stitch? I mean, you guys always talk about.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Talking, so call me, don't call me, uh, yesterday, and
- 4:47Speaker 2: he wants to go to Duff's because we're staying down
- 4:50Speaker 2: the street from there. Duffs is the i'd say, competitor
- 4:54Speaker 2: to the Anchor Bar Anchor bars where they originated. They
- 4:58Speaker 2: originated the Buffalo Wing and so uh, but Dufts is
- 5:02Speaker 2: just as good. They have a few locations in Buffalo,
- 5:05Speaker 2: so we'll probably meander down there.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It's both, ye, both the combination.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I think some people make the mistake of here we go.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Uh.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Some people make the mistake of putting the sauce on
- 5:19Speaker 2: the wing and then baking it or doing whatever. That's
- 5:23Speaker 2: not how you do it. You fry the you fry
- 5:26Speaker 2: the wing, you get a crispy Then you have your
- 5:28Speaker 2: bowl of sauce tossed and you toss it. That's how
- 5:31Speaker 2: you're doing it. So when you get the wing, the
- 5:33Speaker 2: sauce is wet. Yeah, it's not baked in.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:36Speaker 7: I do like the the wet more than like a
- 5:40Speaker 7: dry rope.
- 5:40Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, they're good. They're both good. But I'm with
- 5:43Speaker 5: Freddy Hunter.
- 5:44Speaker 6: But it's specifically the orange buffalo sauce with the blue
- 5:48Speaker 6: the ranch for some originated you might have.
- 5:50Speaker 2: A side of celery with that.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Is there anything healthy about blue cheese?
- 5:54Speaker 4: No?
- 5:55Speaker 2: I mean yeah, actually.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 6:00Speaker 5: I don't do the blue cheese. Might I just like
- 6:02Speaker 5: that because I don't like it. I like the buffalo wing.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:05Speaker 9: I actually kind of lean towards with you sometimes. If
- 6:09Speaker 9: you can't take the heat, what are you doing?
- 6:11Speaker 2: Some people like ranch? Yeah, and then one Brian Moorey
- 6:15Speaker 2: insists on sour cream, which I don't get interesting. I
- 6:19Speaker 2: hear the same story when I went to be you,
- 6:21Speaker 2: we went to tease pop and that's how I got it.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I've been doing it every time, never changing it says
- 6:25Speaker 2: the same story every.
- 6:26Speaker 5: Time, confirmed not only as a Patriot, but as a
- 6:29Speaker 5: member of the Tea Teas Pop Brigade.
- 6:31Speaker 1: That's what he does.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Cream cream.
- 6:34Speaker 5: I don't do the I don't I just like Buffalo wings,
- 6:36Speaker 5: sower cream on wings.
- 6:39Speaker 1: It's fine.
- 6:40Speaker 2: And so then have we seen that Dan Shaughnessy article yet?
- 6:43Speaker 2: You know, you know Buffalo dust has a you know, lobster.
- 6:49Speaker 7: Yeah, Edge Boston.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Sounds like he's.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Been doing that article for you know, forty years.
- 6:59Speaker 7: Man, it works for him. The man is a hall
- 7:03Speaker 7: of famer.
- 7:04Speaker 5: Yeah, I guess, I guess Baseball.
- 7:07Speaker 2: He's in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Canton. Yeah.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Really none.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I was gonna say, that's not around Hall of Fame Cooperstown.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Oh, Cooperstown.
- 7:20Speaker 7: I knew what he meant.
- 7:21Speaker 3: We all knew.
- 7:21Speaker 4: We all didn't.
- 7:23Speaker 2: So they have writers in the Cooperstown Hall of Fame.
- 7:25Speaker 5: Yes, it's like the Spink Award or something like that.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Spink not the Spink, not that award. That's much different.
- 7:33Speaker 7: Okay, that's like the A v N.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Does Canton have one for the football writers?
- 7:38Speaker 3: Might have a contributor category that.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Like, has any writer got into Canton?
- 7:43Speaker 9: I want?
- 7:43Speaker 3: I don't know about journalists, but I think that there
- 7:45Speaker 3: are like broadcasters really, you know, I played by play
- 7:48Speaker 3: guys or like a Howard Cosell type.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I don't know about that. Interesting, I've never heard.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Of that really I think be wrong.
- 7:56Speaker 6: Oh you know what, sorry to jump in, all right,
- 7:59Speaker 6: So I just we're seeing here on one of Paul shows,
- 8:01Speaker 6: are the Patriots buying into what Mike Rabel's selling.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I just wanted to share a little. I don't want
- 8:05Speaker 1: to spoil it.
- 8:05Speaker 6: Maybe it's a teaser, but Evan and I had the
- 8:07Speaker 6: opportunity to sit down with Jack Gibbons yesterday, and I
- 8:11Speaker 6: really liked what he said about last week, you know,
- 8:13Speaker 6: the friday before they played the Panthers.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Just how did he put it. He's like, just.
- 8:18Speaker 6: Great vibes, and he said he came home to his
- 8:20Speaker 6: wife and we had fun at work, had fun at work,
- 8:22Speaker 6: and it's an a way to put it.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And then like, you know, we were just.
- 8:25Speaker 6: Kind of before actually it's not even on the thing
- 8:27Speaker 6: is that were this was happening before we were talking, and.
- 8:29Speaker 3: You know, I asked him about it. Oh you you
- 8:31Speaker 3: followed up with it when.
- 8:32Speaker 6: We actually were doing an interview, but he just, uh,
- 8:34Speaker 6: he said, it really feels like we're building something here.
- 8:36Speaker 6: And I just you know, it was off the cuff
- 8:38Speaker 6: positivity about the team, not even really being pressed about
- 8:41Speaker 6: it that I just thought it was a good sign
- 8:42Speaker 6: of the to what response to this. Are they buying
- 8:45Speaker 6: what Rabel is selling? I think Jack Gibbons yesterday would
- 8:48Speaker 6: say yes.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and I get a sense that that's happening.
- 8:52Speaker 2: This is back to your winning solves everything.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Well, yes, absolutely, But I do feel like as they're
- 8:59Speaker 5: putting things together, I think that there has been sort
- 9:02Speaker 5: of a buy in to what's going on. And I
- 9:04Speaker 5: go back to you a thing from the postgame show
- 9:07Speaker 5: going to the Rams game from OH one, and I
- 9:09Speaker 5: think that's where we are. That's where we are, boys,
- 9:12Speaker 5: that's the opportunity we have tonight.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Okay, I think.
- 9:15Speaker 5: We skate with that. So I think this kind of game,
- 9:20Speaker 5: this game, I think is kind of similar. It's a
- 9:24Speaker 5: little bit earlier in the season, which is a little unfortunate,
- 9:27Speaker 5: but I kind of feel like they're buying in and
- 9:32Speaker 5: this is an opportunity for validation that yeah, we have
- 9:36Speaker 5: what it takes to be a good team.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:39Speaker 6: The other thing that stood out to me yesterday I
- 9:40Speaker 6: said a couple of times Grabel Yesterday's saying I think
- 9:43Speaker 6: the phrase was hopefully some of our identity starts to
- 9:45Speaker 6: come out a little bit up there, and I.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Thought that was an interesting thing.
- 9:49Speaker 6: To say, of these kind of games, playing great players,
- 9:53Speaker 6: a great team, a team that has owned the division
- 9:55Speaker 6: in the last five years, it's an opportunity for them to
- 9:59Speaker 6: show when they they're in this kind of position. We've
- 10:01Speaker 6: seen them play teams that are kind of on their
- 10:02Speaker 6: level so far, but this is one to say, you know,
- 10:05Speaker 6: can they punch up a little bit? Can they maybe
- 10:07Speaker 6: surprise some people that I think we all expect that
- 10:10Speaker 6: it's not going to be a runaway Buffalo game, but
- 10:12Speaker 6: you know Buffalo is going to move the ball, and
- 10:13Speaker 6: that's what Buffalo does.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Can they keep pace a little bit?
- 10:16Speaker 6: Can they show some some scrappiness to them that that
- 10:19Speaker 6: we saw from those Rabel teams down.
- 10:20Speaker 2: It's a risky thing to say, I think at this point,
- 10:23Speaker 2: because you don't know what your identity is. So when
- 10:25Speaker 2: you say, I hope our identity can come out, what
- 10:28Speaker 2: is your identity?
- 10:29Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 10:30Speaker 2: Well, you know, actually a good or bad um. You know,
- 10:33Speaker 2: good or bad is what comes out your identity and
- 10:36Speaker 2: if it's bad, you hope it isn't. But you just
- 10:38Speaker 2: set yourself up to say, what is the what.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Does the sign say?
- 10:42Speaker 3: So they have a sign in the team auditorium that
- 10:45Speaker 3: has Patriots team identity, and it's not grammar grammatically corrected too.
- 10:49Speaker 3: It's got a little apostrophe and everything, and it has
- 10:53Speaker 3: four points to it. Effort and finish is number one,
- 10:56Speaker 3: which is Rabel's non negotiable. We're going to make a
- 11:00Speaker 3: contract with ourselves. I think he said about effort and finish.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Ball security and ball disruption is number two, which I
- 11:07Speaker 3: think is interesting coming off the Pittsburgh game that ball
- 11:10Speaker 3: security is on that list. I can't remember off the
- 11:14Speaker 3: top of my head what the other two are now
- 11:15Speaker 3: that I'm saying this, and I will look it up,
- 11:18Speaker 3: but that there's a sign that literally said like it
- 11:21Speaker 3: says this is our identity, like this is what we're about,
- 11:24Speaker 3: and you know so far. I think the best part
- 11:28Speaker 3: about it is that the number one thing effort and finish.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I think that they have played with very good effort
- 11:34Speaker 3: and finish, even on defense when they've given up some
- 11:38Speaker 3: plays on that side of the ball. I've never questioned
- 11:41Speaker 3: one second if their effort is was the issue. So
- 11:45Speaker 3: I think that they're they're starting to get there now.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Ball security and ball disruption maybe on the other side,
- 11:51Speaker 3: they aren't fully in that category yet.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Is talent one of the identities on the well, maybe
- 11:59Speaker 2: keep it real. I'm going to look up the other
- 12:00Speaker 2: that's what.
- 12:01Speaker 9: I'm trying to find.
- 12:03Speaker 3: I was looking at it last night too, and I
- 12:06Speaker 3: for some reason can't remember the other two.
- 12:08Speaker 9: I'm surprised you don't have it memorized. We're going and
- 12:11Speaker 9: I know.
- 12:11Speaker 2: And that's signed. By the way, in the team auditorium
- 12:14Speaker 2: is seen by all the media when they go into
- 12:16Speaker 2: a post game.
- 12:17Speaker 9: Yeah, prest cos right there for everybody there like, oh
- 12:19Speaker 9: my god, everyone's like taking a picture of it.
- 12:21Speaker 3: It is all right here. It is details, technique and
- 12:24Speaker 3: fundamentals is number three, and then number four is make
- 12:29Speaker 3: great decisions and.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I DTF no details.
- 12:34Speaker 6: Technique, details, technique and fundamentals.
- 12:38Speaker 5: Okay, make sure you go that way the next time.
- 12:41Speaker 5: Different things, very very different, trying to great decisions.
- 12:46Speaker 3: I do remember. I think it was probably Forging Foxborough
- 12:48Speaker 3: him talking about that's on and off the field, right,
- 12:51Speaker 3: They you know, want everybody to make great decisions all
- 12:54Speaker 3: the time, and so that that's not necessarily their football
- 12:59Speaker 3: I identity as much as it is like.
- 13:01Speaker 2: The character that they want to people.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's that's what he says, is their identity.
- 13:08Speaker 2: There you go, So let's see that identity come out
- 13:12Speaker 2: Sunday night.
- 13:13Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I love the second one. I mean,
- 13:15Speaker 6: that's the thing up there. You can somehow force another
- 13:18Speaker 6: turnover out of this team this year, and you can't
- 13:21Speaker 6: have a repeat of what you did against the Steelers.
- 13:23Speaker 6: That's a that's a great way to start the ball
- 13:25Speaker 6: security and force some turnovers. And I could put the
- 13:28Speaker 6: Patriots in good position.
- 13:29Speaker 2: So it sounds to me like Buffalo has more to
- 13:33Speaker 2: lose this right, don't you think we're coming up as
- 13:38Speaker 2: the scrappy underdogs right now? We if we win, it's
- 13:41Speaker 2: a huge upset. If we lose close, okay, But if
- 13:45Speaker 2: the Bills lose close, not good for them.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Oh Garrett footsteps, continue down that road.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Five it comes Mike, Here comes Mike Ray. Well, we
- 13:58Speaker 2: were winless and mean undefeated until they came and then
- 14:02Speaker 2: they beat us up.
- 14:03Speaker 6: Oh Bill's boys dot com and not be happy.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Hot scene, Hot scene they are.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I told you they're hearing. They're hearing it. There their
- 14:11Speaker 3: sensing it.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Could we frame it though the Patriots have more to gain?
- 14:14Speaker 1: Like I think that I could.
- 14:15Speaker 5: I could frame it that If you have thinks the
- 14:18Speaker 5: Bills have more to loose, So it's the opposite. You're
- 14:20Speaker 5: saying the opposite of him. It can be right, the
- 14:24Speaker 5: Bills have nothing to lose.
- 14:26Speaker 2: What do you mean they have nothing to lo If they.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Lose this game, it's a loss. It's a blip on
- 14:30Speaker 5: the rail.
- 14:30Speaker 2: But but it's it's what it means. What it means
- 14:35Speaker 2: the guys that we've had are put on their neck
- 14:38Speaker 2: for a lot, means for the rising up for the
- 14:41Speaker 2: Patriots with their up and coming quarterback. And they're new
- 14:43Speaker 2: head coach a f C East, you know the gritty
- 14:48Speaker 2: a f C East has Mike Rabel as the head coach.
- 14:51Speaker 5: All of this is all true in the New England
- 14:53Speaker 5: Patriots thousand butttle Bill fan, you're like, it will effect
- 14:57Speaker 5: absolutely take that from on that the perception of Buffalo
- 15:01Speaker 5: will not have changed.
- 15:04Speaker 6: Anyone's but Bill's fans perspective themselves.
- 15:07Speaker 5: The Bills, the bills fans perception of the Patriots may change,
- 15:13Speaker 5: it is change. Their perception of themselves will not and
- 15:16Speaker 5: neither will it for anybody else in the country other
- 15:18Speaker 5: than Fred's Fred k kersh, Well, you.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Don't think that they might be?
- 15:22Speaker 1: He did? I get that right?
- 15:24Speaker 2: You don't think that they might be hearing some footsteps
- 15:27Speaker 2: like they come.
- 15:28Speaker 5: Their perception of the Patriots can change if the Patriots win. Yes,
- 15:32Speaker 5: they think more of their patriots are more of now.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Right now, they're ride and high. They're confident where they're
- 15:38Speaker 2: alpha guys.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Right.
- 15:39Speaker 5: What I'm trying to say is just what they think
- 15:42Speaker 5: of the Patriots is not the same as what they
- 15:45Speaker 5: think of themselves.
- 15:47Speaker 2: But they can be losing a little confidence.
- 15:50Speaker 5: Yeah, no, no, no, no, how about I mean you
- 15:54Speaker 5: can you can try to convince yourself that they're going
- 15:57Speaker 5: to be like, oh, we lost a game.
- 15:58Speaker 2: So you don't think that. You know, when Mahomes came
- 16:01Speaker 2: on the scene, everybody in the AFC West was like, oh, shoot,
- 16:04Speaker 2: do you.
- 16:05Speaker 7: Think Tom Brady did that?
- 16:06Speaker 2: We're screwed.
- 16:06Speaker 7: Yes, you're out of your mind.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Oh I'm talking tom Brady did that to the other
- 16:11Speaker 2: teams in the AB.
- 16:12Speaker 5: You think Tom Brady said this guy's on the scene
- 16:14Speaker 5: now shoot And Josh Allen's not looking at Dray saying
- 16:18Speaker 5: oh shoot.
- 16:18Speaker 2: I didn't say, Josh. I talked about the fans there.
- 16:21Speaker 2: They're they're they're starting to hear footsteps.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Their fans are they are where we used to be
- 16:27Speaker 3: where like the Flaws and the team that they're picking at,
- 16:32Speaker 3: they are like reasons they're not going to win the
- 16:34Speaker 3: super Bowl, reasons they're not going to win Week five.
- 16:37Speaker 3: So like they're talking about, oh, do you know, are
- 16:40Speaker 3: we going to be able to stop the run consistently enough?
- 16:42Speaker 3: And you know, that's really it.
- 16:45Speaker 7: Honestly I agree with that.
- 16:46Speaker 3: That's literally it. And it's funny because I was laughing
- 16:49Speaker 3: with them. I was like, this is how it used
- 16:51Speaker 3: to be for us.
- 16:51Speaker 4: It was like, do we.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Have a good enough third cornerback to win the super Bowl?
- 16:56Speaker 10: Right?
- 16:57Speaker 5: Used to make fun of me about all the time.
- 16:59Speaker 3: And that's where Buffalo is now, Like they are looking
- 17:02Speaker 3: at their team and they're saying, and what are what
- 17:05Speaker 3: is going to be the reason for our downfall? Not
- 17:09Speaker 3: why are we going to lose?
- 17:10Speaker 2: A worthy opponent in the AFC East might be step one.
- 17:13Speaker 5: They know they're going to have to play somebody to
- 17:16Speaker 5: get to the super Bowl. They don't care who it is.
- 17:18Speaker 5: They know they're going to be there, win, will lose.
- 17:21Speaker 5: On Sunday, they know they're going to be there. They
- 17:23Speaker 5: don't know who they're going to be playing. They probably
- 17:26Speaker 5: would rather be the Patriots than Kansas City based on history.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Okay, but you know you also have to win the
- 17:32Speaker 2: AFC East.
- 17:33Speaker 5: No, no, they don't.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Oh oh, they're definitely gonna win the AC.
- 17:37Speaker 5: But they don't even have to, Like it just doesn't
- 17:39Speaker 5: really matter to them. They're in a different place. For them,
- 17:42Speaker 5: it's Super Bowl or rust.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I like to pretend that's it. I like to pretend that,
- 17:48Speaker 2: you know, when, like I said, when the Homes came
- 17:52Speaker 2: on the scene, the other teams in the AFC West
- 17:54Speaker 2: are like, oh, shoot, this is gonna be this is
- 17:57Speaker 2: going to be tough here. As long as he's the
- 17:59Speaker 2: core it back, it's going to be tough. I mean
- 18:02Speaker 2: you that guy.
- 18:03Speaker 5: But there weren't any other teams in the AFC West
- 18:05Speaker 5: that were better than them.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Why because they didn't have Patrick.
- 18:09Speaker 5: Mahomes, right, but they have Josh Allen, Right, But now
- 18:12Speaker 5: that's but but they don't think that he's better about Josh.
- 18:17Speaker 5: But they thought Patrick Mahomes was better than the quarterback.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Saturday Night will be step one to changing that narrative.
- 18:26Speaker 2: You have to start somewhere. Put some doubt in the
- 18:29Speaker 2: right you put some doubt in like if he comes
- 18:31Speaker 2: in and just tears it up. It's like, oh, oh, oh,
- 18:35Speaker 2: what do we got here? Come on?
- 18:41Speaker 5: I tell you guys all the time. I don't like
- 18:42Speaker 5: to tell people how they should feel. Do you want
- 18:44Speaker 5: to feel like that?
- 18:45Speaker 7: Shoot you?
- 18:46Speaker 2: I do want to feel like That's fine?
- 18:48Speaker 9: I do.
- 18:49Speaker 2: It's not going wrong. Well I feel like that after
- 18:51Speaker 2: Sunday night. I don't know. But that's how.
- 18:53Speaker 5: I'm just telling your Buffalo is not going to feel
- 18:55Speaker 5: like that. Oh, I'm not telling you how you're feeling.
- 18:58Speaker 2: I think if Drake May has a great game and
- 19:00Speaker 2: they made like, uh oh, we now might have a
- 19:02Speaker 2: worthy opponent in the AFC.
- 19:04Speaker 5: They may think that, but they're not going to think
- 19:06Speaker 5: any less of themselves, which is what you started this
- 19:08Speaker 5: whole thing with.
- 19:10Speaker 2: They'll think a little bit with Evan.
- 19:11Speaker 9: I don't even.
- 19:14Speaker 2: They'll think a little bit less of their stranglehold on
- 19:16Speaker 2: the AFCs.
- 19:17Speaker 5: I don't think they will. I think they'll look at
- 19:19Speaker 5: us a blip on the Reds. Well, it's a one
- 19:21Speaker 5: game detriment.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Now.
- 19:22Speaker 5: If they lose like four to the next five, then
- 19:24Speaker 5: you'll say, the Patriots the blueprints and.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Win in hand and they're going to come to Foxborough
- 19:31Speaker 2: later in the season.
- 19:32Speaker 7: Will beat him again with a three game leading the division.
- 19:34Speaker 3: You know we're going to beat him twice.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Yeah, nice, that's right.
- 19:38Speaker 3: I like it.
- 19:38Speaker 6: I mean Patriots have beaten the two out of the
- 19:40Speaker 6: last four the trend mac.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Jones beat him twice, which I think is kind of funny,
- 19:45Speaker 3: Like beat him straight up in twenty twenty three, like
- 19:48Speaker 3: the twenty twenty one game was.
- 19:49Speaker 5: The twenty three game was a Legui.
- 19:51Speaker 3: They legitimately beat them that day.
- 19:53Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, sixty yard screen backs.
- 19:56Speaker 1: How do you feel about the mac Jones talk with
- 19:58Speaker 1: brock Perty.
- 19:59Speaker 6: I've seen a lot of people well saying brock Perty
- 20:01Speaker 6: just hasn't been good and mac Jones look good, And
- 20:03Speaker 6: I'm glad you're asked flashing back to you.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Because would you feel good for mac Jones?
- 20:07Speaker 3: Absolutely?
- 20:07Speaker 4: I would.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I would feel good guy.
- 20:12Speaker 1: He was the offensive cordat Why would He's a good guy?
- 20:16Speaker 9: Mac gave Evan a lot more public praise than anyone
- 20:18Speaker 9: in the building.
- 20:19Speaker 10: Now.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Absolutely, I think.
- 20:22Speaker 2: He I think I think much like Matt Patricia. He got,
- 20:26Speaker 2: he had a he got, you know, put in a
- 20:30Speaker 2: bad situation here, and you know, I feel bad for
- 20:34Speaker 2: I'm match that good.
- 20:37Speaker 5: That's one of your favorite, that's one of your all
- 20:39Speaker 5: time greatest. I really think we should say thank you
- 20:42Speaker 5: to Matt Patricia.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I'll believe that. I still believe that, But no, I
- 20:49Speaker 2: would feel good for Mac.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Yeah, and plus like it makes Kyle look good. So
- 20:53Speaker 3: it's just win wins all around.
- 20:55Speaker 2: We're all first name. Basically, it's just like.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Oh, great, Like Kyle Shanahan just like took Mac Jones
- 21:00Speaker 3: and made him into a competent starter again and like,
- 21:03Speaker 3: so now I was right about Mac. I was right
- 21:05Speaker 3: about Kyle Shanahan.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Is there a legit chance though, that the mac Thrones
- 21:10Speaker 1: overtakes Rock?
- 21:11Speaker 5: No, not not after the contract I just gave him. Yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 5: and he's hurt, Like it's let's not make it out
- 21:17Speaker 5: that like he played better than him and took.
- 21:19Speaker 1: His job so much.
- 21:19Speaker 3: The internet's telling me Sam tonight he'll be on the
- 21:23Speaker 3: on the iPad though, because the Red Sox will have
- 21:26Speaker 3: to be on the big TV.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Right.
- 21:28Speaker 5: Yeah, their offense has not been good in any No, no,
- 21:31Speaker 5: well injury Mac Jones games brought Purty games. The only
- 21:34Speaker 5: difference is in mac Jones's defense is he's turned it
- 21:37Speaker 5: over less than Party has Perty's turned it over.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think, well Kittles out right.
- 21:42Speaker 5: They haven't Jennings is out hasn't played yet. Yeah, but
- 21:48Speaker 5: they still have Christian McCaffrey.
- 21:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 21:50Speaker 1: I had to look that up today. Becauserick not to
- 21:52Speaker 1: tip things, but I don't think I did great in
- 21:53Speaker 1: the picks this week. And part of the reason why
- 21:55Speaker 1: I think was lack of attention to injury issues.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Is that what it was this week I think was
- 22:00Speaker 2: for me.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the only thing holding me back. Really, I'm
- 22:02Speaker 1: a bone to pick on the picks.
- 22:05Speaker 9: Here we go.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so I for them, this is the bone
- 22:09Speaker 3: I have to pick.
- 22:10Speaker 7: We do them after the show with them.
- 22:12Speaker 3: So I'm not doing as well in the picks this year,
- 22:14Speaker 3: and I think it's because I'm not doing them.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Or not on the show.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Excellent analysis by Alex.
- 22:20Speaker 3: I really think that.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Okay, I'm glad you brought that up because I've been
- 22:25Speaker 2: saving this email. This comes from ATLEC in Berlin. YEP.
- 22:32Speaker 2: It's always interesting to hear who is doing well or
- 22:35Speaker 2: not with the picks an email or Ben beat me
- 22:38Speaker 2: to it. But like similar to Ben, I also work
- 22:40Speaker 2: with quantitative data and qualitative as well. I've lost it
- 22:44Speaker 2: and find football analytics fun but misused looking backwards or
- 22:49Speaker 2: what has what has been the case with statistics? You're
- 22:54Speaker 2: gonna just talk over me while I'm doing this.
- 22:56Speaker 3: I'm not going to listen.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Looking backwards with football statistics works better than projecting what
- 23:03Speaker 2: will or should happen in future games? Do look? Football
- 23:06Speaker 2: analytics does not do well with forward looking in a
- 23:10Speaker 2: forward looking manner, I think this is why the nerds
- 23:13Speaker 2: such as Evan do so poorly with the picks. Oh
- 23:16Speaker 2: while Fred, with his feel for the game, does quite well.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Football is so much determined by who shows up mentally
- 23:22Speaker 2: on that day. It is a game of emotions, lots
- 23:25Speaker 2: of highs and lows in a football game.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Okay, First of all, Paul, who did best in the
- 23:30Speaker 3: picks last year?
- 23:31Speaker 7: I can't recall exactly why.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Not for the why not find a squirrels for five weeks?
- 23:41Speaker 3: I did it for seventeen.
- 23:43Speaker 7: Baseball Hall of Fame in Canton?
- 23:44Speaker 1: I heard you?
- 23:45Speaker 4: Okay.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Second of all, I think one of the biggest misconceptions
- 23:49Speaker 3: about the numbers is that they're predictive when they are
- 23:52Speaker 3: not predictive. The numbers that I use, in particular, are
- 23:55Speaker 3: results oriented numbers.
- 23:57Speaker 5: Right e p a DVOS.
- 23:58Speaker 2: That's his point.
- 23:59Speaker 3: No, his point is that he thinks that I'm trying
- 24:02Speaker 3: these numbers are trying to predict future outcomes, which is
- 24:06Speaker 3: not the case. We're trying to tell you about what
- 24:08Speaker 3: has happened. Okay, So no one is saying like I
- 24:11Speaker 3: feel like people get caught up in the word like
- 24:13Speaker 3: expected in expected points at it. They think that it's
- 24:17Speaker 3: like expected goals or expected runs or something like that.
- 24:20Speaker 1: It's not.
- 24:21Speaker 3: It's a stat that is taking what has occurred already.
- 24:25Speaker 3: It's not a stat that is meant to be used
- 24:27Speaker 3: to project forward what is going.
- 24:28Speaker 2: So you're telling me that all this money that these
- 24:31Speaker 2: teams are throwing into statistics and all this stuff has
- 24:35Speaker 2: nothing to do with trying to figure out what's going
- 24:37Speaker 2: to happen.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Well, that's a different argument, course does. Well, that's but
- 24:40Speaker 3: that's a different thing. We're talking about two different things
- 24:43Speaker 3: like that, to me, is is different than the numbers
- 24:48Speaker 3: that I use. Every team has models and things like
- 24:50Speaker 3: that to predict things. I don't do that, Like, I'm
- 24:53Speaker 3: not trying to like those are like data science.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Just if you're too if you're too into numbers.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I don't watch any of them when you're.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Doing something like picking games, because like he said, a
- 25:12Speaker 2: lot of times it is just about who shows up,
- 25:15Speaker 2: and you know, momentum and and all that stuff, and
- 25:18Speaker 2: that's hard to qualify.
- 25:19Speaker 3: But I don't watch the film, so like, all I
- 25:22Speaker 3: do is look at the numbers.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Does he have any reason why I'm so terrible at them?
- 25:27Speaker 9: Is that?
- 25:27Speaker 1: Is there anything in there about.
- 25:28Speaker 2: That not bad?
- 25:30Speaker 5: I'm in the last place. No one uses the numbers
- 25:34Speaker 5: less than I know.
- 25:35Speaker 2: But Paul, apparently it's you'll come around you. You have
- 25:39Speaker 2: a good feel for it as well.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Just the analytics nerds.
- 25:42Speaker 5: That are the nicest thing you've said to me in
- 25:43Speaker 5: twenty five years.
- 25:45Speaker 7: Okay, I have a good feel for it.
- 25:47Speaker 5: You do, because I felt like he was sort of
- 25:49Speaker 5: equating me with him because we all know he has
- 25:52Speaker 5: a tremendous field for the league.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Your feel for it comes from like the SEASONSA know,
- 26:00Speaker 2: the seasoned gambler.
- 26:02Speaker 11: You know.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Over the long term Paul is going to do well.
- 26:06Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm a season gamb I think nobody can watch
- 26:09Speaker 6: like a bare minimum amount of a game and then
- 26:11Speaker 6: tell you exactly what happened. Then Paul like, like, I'll
- 26:14Speaker 6: watch the highlight or you know, like that it's the
- 26:16Speaker 6: red zone thing.
- 26:16Speaker 1: He somehow can cobble it all.
- 26:18Speaker 5: Case in point, didn't see the raphael a bump at bat,
- 26:21Speaker 5: feel like I know exactly what happened.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Jeopardy James Pettigrew says Alex needs a better poker face.
- 26:27Speaker 2: When Fred starts calling Evan a nerd.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Why I just don't.
- 26:33Speaker 9: I don't.
- 26:34Speaker 3: I don't care when Fred calls me nerd. I care
- 26:36Speaker 3: when emails misconstrued things like that. That's what I Wow,
- 26:40Speaker 3: that makes me angry.
- 26:41Speaker 2: It does.
- 26:42Speaker 3: It gets under mister.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Been.
- 26:46Speaker 5: I feel like, that's okay, that's a flaw.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Let them get to you like that, dude, not my
- 26:52Speaker 3: whole life. But when you just don't fundamentally, fundamentally understand that,
- 26:58Speaker 3: that's when it annoys me. It pisses me off.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I mean, he's like a scientist, and he said.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Nothing that had any source of truth whatsoever.
- 27:07Speaker 2: So and the.
- 27:12Speaker 7: Hey, can I put a bowl on the Hall of
- 27:14Speaker 7: Fame thing?
- 27:15Speaker 2: A bow on the Hall of fame?
- 27:16Speaker 5: But Dan shaughnessy, because you know I'm in the it's
- 27:19Speaker 5: a little right and wrong. He's technically not in the
- 27:22Speaker 5: Hall of Fame, but he received the J. G. Taylor
- 27:27Speaker 5: Spink Award for Distinguished Baseball Writing from the BBW a
- 27:30Speaker 5: A and it's presented at Cooperstown, but he is not
- 27:35Speaker 5: a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame itself.
- 27:38Speaker 9: Peter Dammons, because I feel like he had some type of.
- 27:41Speaker 2: He probably got the same award.
- 27:43Speaker 3: YEA, there's one like that for the NFL too. Mary
- 27:47Speaker 3: Kay Cabin in Cleveland just won won it and she
- 27:50Speaker 3: made fun of Bill and it.
- 27:51Speaker 2: It was one. She was great.
- 27:53Speaker 1: We had her on the Premium show. Hey Mary Kay.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I forget what what the name of the award is,
- 27:58Speaker 3: but there is similar thing like a distinguished Media member
- 28:02Speaker 3: type of word.
- 28:03Speaker 6: It is funny like after doing this job, going to
- 28:05Speaker 6: like the Combine, the owners meetings, those things, like you
- 28:07Speaker 6: should see the same Mary Kay capots of the world,
- 28:09Speaker 6: the same crew of people at all those different events.
- 28:12Speaker 6: And I realize it doesn't often change all that much
- 28:15Speaker 6: a lot of people, because I used to when.
- 28:17Speaker 5: We used to do previews every week for the paper,
- 28:20Speaker 5: Brian and I would call a writer from out of
- 28:23Speaker 5: town and just you know, chop it up for ten
- 28:27Speaker 5: minutes and you gotta feel for you know you got
- 28:29Speaker 5: to that's how you get a feel for the league,
- 28:31Speaker 5: like Freddy. But it was the same people. Yeah, you know,
- 28:35Speaker 5: and I can remember you know my you know the
- 28:37Speaker 5: names in Jim Wyatt. I would call in Tennessee. You know,
- 28:40Speaker 5: Pat mcmannonman or Mary Kay. I would call in Cleveland,
- 28:42Speaker 5: Tony Grossei, same people at all the all the different places.
- 28:46Speaker 5: I'm onto side of ghetto Miami.
- 28:48Speaker 9: Wow.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Right, well said pretty good because there that's how That's
- 28:53Speaker 1: how he promised his name.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I love it like that.
- 28:57Speaker 7: ESPN.
- 28:58Speaker 5: He's another good guy.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Eric from Amherstburg says what I hear from Evan quote
- 29:03Speaker 2: E p A. Just ignore the expected word English is
- 29:06Speaker 2: in my major. Expected is the past, not what's to come.
- 29:10Speaker 2: End quote clearly clearly the numbers don't work, and it's
- 29:13Speaker 2: about feel I'm better than you and you can't change
- 29:15Speaker 2: my mind.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Wow, Internetflix, a lot of smoke. Smoke is coming.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I don't think you want that.
- 29:25Speaker 3: I already said my piece.
- 29:27Speaker 2: I'm good, Yeah, okay, come at me, bro, But it
- 29:32Speaker 2: is weird that you containe that PA is about what's
- 29:35Speaker 2: going to happen. But the word expected, it gets everybody
- 29:38Speaker 2: tripped up.
- 29:39Speaker 3: And I try to.
- 29:39Speaker 2: So why don't they change it?
- 29:41Speaker 1: Because it's just what it is.
- 29:43Speaker 3: I know, I've already made this, Like I've already explained
- 29:46Speaker 3: this as best as I can. Multiple times people get
- 29:49Speaker 3: caught up in the word expected. I'm sorry, like I
- 29:52Speaker 3: can't help you with it.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Like the expected is.
- 29:56Speaker 3: In that situation in the game, you know, third and
- 29:59Speaker 3: eight from the four yard line, what is the expected
- 30:02Speaker 3: gain on that play based off of the last decade
- 30:06Speaker 3: of NFL football? What does teams get on third and
- 30:09Speaker 3: eight from the forty yard line? So it's not average, No,
- 30:13Speaker 3: it's an expected This is what the expected outcome in
- 30:16Speaker 3: this situation would be versus what is the actual outcome
- 30:20Speaker 3: of the play? Okay, And so if you are in
- 30:23Speaker 3: third and eight from the forty yard line and you
- 30:24Speaker 3: get nine yards, then you're obviously adding to your EPA
- 30:28Speaker 3: because you picked up the first down. Whereas if you're
- 30:30Speaker 3: at third and eight from the forty yard line and
- 30:32Speaker 3: you get seven yards, you're subtracting.
- 30:33Speaker 2: But like if I say I expect you to be
- 30:36Speaker 2: a nerd, it's based on that you've been a nerd.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Sure that little bit, Well, my understanding that everyone had hurt.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Nerds are cool now, haven't you a little bit? Like
- 30:49Speaker 2: nerds are like totally Like if you're a nerd, you're
- 30:52Speaker 2: the GM of a baseball team nowadays, Howie Roseman, that's
- 30:57Speaker 2: the ruin. That's another example.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I mean, I'd like to think I'm a nerd. I mean,
- 31:01Speaker 1: what kind of person puts together a whole time?
- 31:03Speaker 2: You're a nerd about uniforms, right, Yeah, So I don't
- 31:06Speaker 2: know if they'll have a nerd you know, have monetary rewards,
- 31:11Speaker 2: like being the GM of a pro that's fair baseball.
- 31:14Speaker 1: There's no.
- 31:16Speaker 5: Similar everybody has nerd in them. I mean, like I'm
- 31:19Speaker 5: a nerd about things with all like the stupid trivia
- 31:21Speaker 5: and like random nonsense. That's sports minutia. That's nerd. That's nerdism.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:27Speaker 7: I got made fun of all the time when I
- 31:28Speaker 7: was growing up for crap like that.
- 31:30Speaker 6: It does connect though, like to my youth because I
- 31:32Speaker 6: remember looking at like the Hockey Night in Boston magazines
- 31:35Speaker 6: and like I just I knew every player in Massachusetts
- 31:37Speaker 6: and how it all, you know, And then when I
- 31:39Speaker 6: played against like oh my god, like they were like
- 31:41Speaker 6: I was playing against NHL's But I've always loved that
- 31:43Speaker 6: just that like even like the the next gem website. Man,
- 31:46Speaker 6: I just have so much fun with that looking at
- 31:48Speaker 6: all the different you put together, and that's terrible.
- 31:52Speaker 5: See that's where I just wanted, all right, my sports
- 31:56Speaker 5: geek stops at viewing.
- 31:59Speaker 6: So any Patriots news you need to talk about, well,
- 32:02Speaker 6: I think the injuries are interesting to talk about history
- 32:05Speaker 6: with Chase On and Jalen Hawkins both missing yesterday, so
- 32:10Speaker 6: you know that's uh. I think Jalen Hawkins especially, he's
- 32:13Speaker 6: played i think every snap just about and now you're
- 32:16Speaker 6: looking at Kyle dugger maybe playing some safety, which he
- 32:18Speaker 6: really hasn't played safety, like he's just kind of been
- 32:20Speaker 6: in the box guy in sub packages against covering tight ends.
- 32:25Speaker 6: So that's like a trickle down effect because they've got
- 32:28Speaker 6: a couple good tight ends. They got three good tight
- 32:30Speaker 6: ends really, but you know Marty Mapu, so that bump
- 32:33Speaker 6: everybody up and now you're playing Duggar kind of maybe
- 32:35Speaker 6: out of position a little bit now as a safety
- 32:38Speaker 6: in this I don't know if that's the right way
- 32:40Speaker 6: to put it, but I think it's a fair observation
- 32:42Speaker 6: given what his role has been. They don't really have
- 32:45Speaker 6: another free safety type to compare with Craig Woods, and
- 32:49Speaker 6: so maybe Jalen Hawkins gets back out there today could
- 32:52Speaker 6: tell kind of going out to practice.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Didn't seem like he was going to be active. He
- 32:54Speaker 1: wasn't limping around or anything.
- 32:56Speaker 5: But did he he talked yesterday? Though I saw some
- 32:59Speaker 5: quotes attributed to him him.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I don't on the side, not with any of the
- 33:03Speaker 1: big scrums.
- 33:04Speaker 5: I was reading a story that Karen Grigian from mass
- 33:07Speaker 5: Live wrote and she had you know, they were like
- 33:10Speaker 5: innocuous quotes nothing, But I just thought it stood out
- 33:13Speaker 5: to me because he didn't practice.
- 33:15Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, is that part of the thing of
- 33:17Speaker 6: just doing open locker room before practice and you don't
- 33:19Speaker 6: know who's who is or is and who's off limits
- 33:21Speaker 6: and you're not supposed to talk to injured guys, right,
- 33:23Speaker 6: is that kind of rule?
- 33:24Speaker 2: Well that used to be.
- 33:27Speaker 3: It's like an unwritten rule maybe just for us. Yeah,
- 33:29Speaker 3: but it's not like you're not going to get like
- 33:31Speaker 3: your credential revoked if you do, but like it's something
- 33:34Speaker 3: that it's a little bit unwritten rule. But I yeah,
- 33:38Speaker 3: it's interesting with Hawkins because he came out to practice
- 33:41Speaker 3: not in uniform, like not dressed for practice, but it
- 33:46Speaker 3: was like doing some stuff off to the side, and
- 33:48Speaker 3: we've seen that, you know last week, like Chase On
- 33:50Speaker 3: also sat out yesterday, also sat out last Wednesday and
- 33:53Speaker 3: ended up playing in the game on Sunday. So I'm
- 33:56Speaker 3: still holding out hope a little bit that Hawkins is
- 33:59Speaker 3: going to be okay, Like if he wasn't gonna play,
- 34:03Speaker 3: then I don't think that we would have really seen
- 34:05Speaker 3: him doing what he was doing off to the side, So.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Maybe maybe maybe getting bumped up a little bit.
- 34:13Speaker 5: I mean, that's how they finished the game is Dugger
- 34:15Speaker 5: went back to the Hawkins role and Pettis replaced Dougger's
- 34:18Speaker 5: role in like that big nickel or whatever.
- 34:20Speaker 3: That would make that would make sense.
- 34:22Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, I mean I do think it's it's significant
- 34:26Speaker 6: just in terms of the shuffling.
- 34:27Speaker 2: They might have to make anything out of the practice
- 34:30Speaker 2: squad shuffling that has happened this week.
- 34:33Speaker 6: They well, they traded out Jack Conley who had been around,
- 34:35Speaker 6: and brought in I mean, they needed to tackle their
- 34:38Speaker 6: their tackle that was on the practice squad got signed
- 34:40Speaker 6: I think to Cleveland, said.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Thurston out of the third.
- 34:46Speaker 6: There Munford, thank you of it. Uh, and then they
- 34:48Speaker 6: just swapped Jack Conley for another guard. So to me,
- 34:51Speaker 6: it seems like they're continuing just to shuffle and try
- 34:54Speaker 6: to look for guys that they think might have some
- 34:55Speaker 6: potential for them and uh, just that kind of the
- 34:59Speaker 6: bottom of the roster churning over. But they've been pretty
- 35:01Speaker 6: active with it. I'd say just about every week there
- 35:03Speaker 6: guys are kind of common and going.
- 35:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that's pretty common for the practice squad. Okay,
- 35:10Speaker 5: but I don't know, I mean, other than that makes
- 35:13Speaker 5: a lot of sense the tackle specific But well, and.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Then we could talk to Paul about this week.
- 35:17Speaker 6: You're you're your good point about Kaden Wallace last week
- 35:20Speaker 6: with you know elevation, Uh yeah, Imus bred in Heimus
- 35:25Speaker 6: elevated him as one of the backups when you have
- 35:28Speaker 6: Katen Wallace not on the injury report.
- 35:30Speaker 5: He was already on the roster and was inactive, and
- 35:33Speaker 5: they promoted a you know, a reserve tackle to be
- 35:37Speaker 5: on the active roster, which I found interesting.
- 35:41Speaker 3: I just wonder if how much experience or how many reps.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Hash in field.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Goal block, in extra point block, because that was the
- 35:52Speaker 3: role that was opened on special teams that they needed
- 35:57Speaker 3: to fill because Ben Brown had been in that spot,
- 36:00Speaker 3: and then Ben Brown going into the starting lineup. They
- 36:03Speaker 3: had to remove Ben Brown from that spot. So maybe
- 36:06Speaker 3: you know, if Kayden Wallace is like on scout team
- 36:09Speaker 3: and is like still kind of mixing in and things
- 36:11Speaker 3: like that, maybe he's not on the field goal protection unit,
- 36:14Speaker 3: but him as does have experience in the NFL on
- 36:17Speaker 3: the field goals.
- 36:18Speaker 5: Brown already on that unit with Jared Wilson, and then
- 36:21Speaker 5: Wilson came out, so they needed someone to replace.
- 36:24Speaker 3: No, he was on that unit on his own. And
- 36:27Speaker 3: then Jared Wilson didn't play in the game, so then
- 36:30Speaker 3: Ben Brown had to go start at left guard.
- 36:32Speaker 7: No, so I wouldn't be able to be on the
- 36:33Speaker 7: field goal unit.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Oh, I think that they maybe just didn't want him
- 36:37Speaker 3: to have to do all of it.
- 36:38Speaker 5: It's interesting. Yeah, that's just like that to me, is
- 36:41Speaker 5: creating an issue that shouldn't Like if he's on that unit,
- 36:45Speaker 5: it's the field goal you haven't to replace two players, right,
- 36:49Speaker 5: But you know, I leave that from Mike Grease. Michael
- 36:53Speaker 5: break down the core four for me. Mike when they
- 36:56Speaker 5: kicked the field goal, Paul, thanks for that, have it
- 37:01Speaker 5: right here, and he'd have all the all the guys listed.
- 37:06Speaker 2: One other thing from yesterday. Stefan Diggs talked about this
- 37:11Speaker 2: is going to be an emotional game for him first
- 37:13Speaker 2: game back in Buffalo. I didn't get a good feeling
- 37:18Speaker 2: about that. No, I'm going to take it at face
- 37:21Speaker 2: value that he means that, And I don't want him
- 37:23Speaker 2: like being up there being emotional about being in the game,
- 37:27Speaker 2: because sometimes that can lead to overdoing things.
- 37:30Speaker 5: You know, you don't want everybody hugging Josh in Denver,
- 37:33Speaker 5: right exactly.
- 37:35Speaker 2: I know that's good now, but you know what I mean,
- 37:38Speaker 2: Like he's out to prove the whole organization above, like
- 37:42Speaker 2: you know, you made a big mistake and all that stuff,
- 37:44Speaker 2: and then things don't go well in the first quarter
- 37:46Speaker 2: and all of a sudden it kind of steamrolls. Like
- 37:50Speaker 2: I'd rather have him actually feel and not just say this,
- 37:53Speaker 2: but like, no, you know what, it's just another game.
- 37:56Speaker 2: It's another opponent that was in the past, that was
- 37:59Speaker 2: two years ago. Just up here to be the best
- 38:01Speaker 2: wide receiver I can be for this team.
- 38:04Speaker 6: Yeah, not to prove anything to that team. I tied
- 38:07Speaker 6: a little to another thing he said yesterday. Was asked
- 38:08Speaker 6: about his knee and how healthy he was, and you know,
- 38:11Speaker 6: he said, I'm getting there, but he talked about having
- 38:14Speaker 6: to be on a plan this summer because they knew
- 38:15Speaker 6: that they didn't put him on a plan, he was
- 38:17Speaker 6: probably going to.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Go full bore into it and that wouldn't have been
- 38:20Speaker 1: the best thing for him.
- 38:21Speaker 6: So you know, kind of relates to that a little bit,
- 38:23Speaker 6: that he's the kind of guy that's emotional going to
- 38:25Speaker 6: get into it.
- 38:25Speaker 1: But I don't really share the concern as much.
- 38:27Speaker 6: He hearing from him yesterday, he seemed like he seemed
- 38:30Speaker 6: a little bit more locked in and intense to me,
- 38:32Speaker 6: tiny bit, I mean, still getting to know him, but
- 38:34Speaker 6: we've heard from him a few times now, he's talking
- 38:36Speaker 6: every Wednesday.
- 38:38Speaker 1: I'm excited to see what.
- 38:39Speaker 6: He's got up there, because to me, he seems like
- 38:41Speaker 6: the kind of guy that this is what the kind
- 38:42Speaker 6: of stuff he lives for.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Where I was going to go with it. Like the motivation,
- 38:47Speaker 3: I think he looks for things to be motivated by
- 38:50Speaker 3: at this point in his career, Like he's accomplished a
- 38:53Speaker 3: lot and he's been very successful, and I think that
- 38:56Speaker 3: he looks for little things to motivate himself with. And
- 39:01Speaker 3: if going back to Buffalo to stick it to the
- 39:04Speaker 3: bills is one of those things. Then I think that's
- 39:07Speaker 3: sort of where it's coming.
- 39:07Speaker 5: Your concern, I think is fair. But I'm with Mike
- 39:10Speaker 5: and Evan. I I thought he said all the right things.
- 39:14Speaker 5: And would you rather have him, you know, sort of
- 39:17Speaker 5: lie and make you feel better?
- 39:18Speaker 2: No, No, I don't want him to lie. I want
- 39:21Speaker 2: him to tell the truth. And I'm taking this as
- 39:23Speaker 2: face value that he really is does think this is
- 39:26Speaker 2: going to be emotional for him? Yeah, so let like, okay,
- 39:30Speaker 2: like you have nothing to prove to Buffalo, prove to us.
- 39:34Speaker 5: I just like that he hasn't tried to tell anybody
- 39:36Speaker 5: now it's just another game on the schedule.
- 39:38Speaker 1: But it's not right.
- 39:39Speaker 4: We know it's not.
- 39:39Speaker 5: And I thought he said all the right things yesterday
- 39:43Speaker 5: and no issues with anything that Karen.
- 39:45Speaker 6: Grigan asked him directly about the falling out there and
- 39:48Speaker 6: she said, you know what really happened, and you know,
- 39:50Speaker 6: he didn't really get into it, but it's still uh interesting,
- 39:53Speaker 6: Like I'm just trying to remember back on how that
- 39:55Speaker 6: all kind of fell apart, because it seemed for a
- 39:57Speaker 6: long time like that was the guy with with Alan
- 40:00Speaker 6: and this is what it's going to make it go.
- 40:02Speaker 6: And I mean I I said before, sorry them from yesterday,
- 40:06Speaker 6: but like I respect, they moved on from him.
- 40:07Speaker 7: It's as simple as what you just said.
- 40:09Speaker 5: It was all everything always went through him, and then
- 40:11Speaker 5: they didn't feel like that that was the best way
- 40:13Speaker 5: to go about it anymore.
- 40:14Speaker 2: And I think that he looked for and you remember
- 40:17Speaker 2: that they lost that game in the playoffs, that amazing game,
- 40:21Speaker 2: and you know he stayed on the field after the
- 40:23Speaker 2: game longer than everyone else, and there was a picture
- 40:25Speaker 2: of exactly that was a long time ago.
- 40:28Speaker 5: I know that wasn't like the last year it was though, No,
- 40:31Speaker 5: that was like twenty one. The first down there, right,
- 40:34Speaker 5: it's just the shoot. Yeah, it might have been the
- 40:36Speaker 5: AFC Championship game here.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Is twenty twenty.
- 40:39Speaker 7: Why might I might fans?
- 40:41Speaker 2: All right, Well, I don't know. I just want him focus.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Like for example, like what if in the first half
- 40:48Speaker 2: he has no targets and he doesn't have a chance
- 40:51Speaker 2: to show out against his former team.
- 40:54Speaker 5: Would I would be worried about that any any week?
- 40:56Speaker 5: But you are the reason why I said it's fair
- 40:58Speaker 5: that because I would think that if that was going
- 41:00Speaker 5: to be a problem any week, it's definitely going to
- 41:03Speaker 5: be a problem this week if he's not involved in
- 41:06Speaker 5: the first half. I just don't expect it. No, I
- 41:08Speaker 5: think he's the number one gastly after last week.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Last week exactly, okay, you made me feel a little bitter.
- 41:14Speaker 5: And he's gotten targets like he's gotten targets pretty much
- 41:17Speaker 5: every game. Like the production this game was better downfield.
- 41:21Speaker 3: He hasn't really complained about it either, which has been
- 41:24Speaker 3: pretty vocal. They throwing the ball, not complaining about it
- 41:28Speaker 3: other than you know, right the guy in Philly who
- 41:31Speaker 3: is all right still making a scene, so you can
- 41:35Speaker 3: have that.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Okay, eight five to five pats five hundred is the
- 41:39Speaker 2: hot line. Let's get to the phones. We'll go to
- 41:41Speaker 2: Nate and Connecticut.
- 41:42Speaker 1: What's up, Nate, guys, can you guys here? We will Yepny,
- 41:46Speaker 1: what's up?
- 41:47Speaker 10: Not one? You know, I'm enjoying the day off. Of
- 41:51Speaker 10: course by calling into you guys. Wouldn't wouldn't be wouldn't
- 41:55Speaker 10: be a Tuesday or Thursday off without calling to you guys,
- 41:58Speaker 10: of course. Uh My question for you guys is uh
- 42:02Speaker 10: I got two of them actually. First off, Hunter Henry,
- 42:08Speaker 10: you know Drake's you know he's been spreading the ball
- 42:11Speaker 10: out to a lot of receivers. But I have a
- 42:13Speaker 10: feeling the Henry and Drake connection is gonna be big
- 42:17Speaker 10: this year. What can we expect out of Hunter Henry
- 42:21Speaker 10: this year?
- 42:22Speaker 12: Uh?
- 42:22Speaker 10: You know, out of this game, I should say, uh,
- 42:25Speaker 10: Sunday night, Prime time that it's gonna be big. Everyone's
- 42:28Speaker 10: gonna be watching. What can we expect out of him?
- 42:32Speaker 2: Uh?
- 42:33Speaker 10: He's always been reliable. Uh what situations do you think
- 42:37Speaker 10: he's gonna be good in?
- 42:39Speaker 11: And Uh?
- 42:40Speaker 10: My second question for you guys is who should I start?
- 42:43Speaker 10: In Fantasy? I got Drake May and I got Josh Allen.
- 42:49Speaker 10: I know Josh Allen. You know he's the He's the
- 42:52Speaker 10: pick for the Fantasy a lot of the time. But
- 42:55Speaker 10: you know, Drake May is a rising star and Fantasy
- 42:59Speaker 10: world and you know, with this big of a game,
- 43:04Speaker 10: I just don't know who to start.
- 43:05Speaker 2: So is there money involved?
- 43:08Speaker 10: No, No, there's no money involved.
- 43:10Speaker 2: I'm for that, Okay. So what happens if you win?
- 43:13Speaker 2: You get anything?
- 43:16Speaker 10: I mean my record will my record will.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Improve, right, But I mean, like, like what I'm trying
- 43:22Speaker 2: to get at is, if there's money involved, I think
- 43:24Speaker 2: you got to go with Josh you know.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Because if the Patriots win and Drake feels great, then
- 43:29Speaker 1: it'll off set the pain of Josh Allen having a
- 43:32Speaker 1: back game and then you'll you'll you'll win either way. Yeah,
- 43:36Speaker 1: that is true.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Uh is a fantasy football rising star. Drake May's a
- 43:43Speaker 3: fourth and among quarterbacks and fantasy points right now because
- 43:46Speaker 3: you get the rushing yards and touchdowns as well in fantasy.
- 43:49Speaker 3: So he's, uh, Josh Allen's number one by the way,
- 43:53Speaker 3: you know, but but Drake May is you know, he
- 43:57Speaker 3: didn't get drafted by a lot of in a lot
- 43:59Speaker 3: of leagues, so he was like a big waiver.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Wire, good guy in your bench.
- 44:03Speaker 3: Yeah, especially if you know you had Joe Burrow or
- 44:05Speaker 3: something like that and you needed to replace your quarterback.
- 44:08Speaker 3: He was a very popular waiver wire pick up in fantasy.
- 44:12Speaker 2: So I don't play fantasy. But if you have Josh,
- 44:15Speaker 2: I mean Drake May and he's not playing because you've
- 44:17Speaker 2: got Josh Allen, do you trade Drake May for like
- 44:21Speaker 2: another guy on a team that doesn't like maybe the
- 44:24Speaker 2: guy that had Joe Burrow. He needs a quarterback, but
- 44:27Speaker 2: he might have a running back that is really.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Good strong Fantasy GM Fred.
- 44:31Speaker 3: Right there, that's how it works if you want to
- 44:34Speaker 3: do that, of course. Yeah, but you would have to
- 44:36Speaker 3: if Josh Allen gets hurt. Now you don't have quarterbacks,
- 44:40Speaker 3: so now you're in the bush.
- 44:42Speaker 2: There's so many points.
- 44:43Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it's it's a sound strategy for d Yeah.
- 44:46Speaker 2: All right, Todd's in North Carolina. I hate Todd. Hey, guys,
- 44:51Speaker 2: down the shirts for you guys, say, I got ocd
- 44:55Speaker 2: Old cranky and dangerous thinking.
- 44:57Speaker 7: About anyway kind of stray there.
- 45:03Speaker 2: I'm kind of worried that we're gonna fall into kind
- 45:05Speaker 2: of what happened to Carolina.
- 45:06Speaker 13: Come off a big win, get going up, and then
- 45:09Speaker 13: they give us a good.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Punch in the face.
- 45:10Speaker 9: And I don't know how we're gonna react because I
- 45:12Speaker 9: don't think we've been really punched in the face yet.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Well that's kind of the fun of Sunday night, is
- 45:16Speaker 2: we don't know. I agree, we don't know.
- 45:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:20Speaker 9: Oh so I think it's a little different because Carolina
- 45:22Speaker 9: probably looked down upon us coming off a big win.
- 45:25Speaker 9: I don't think anyone's looking down at Buffalo.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Yeah, flying high off their thirty point win over Balkins.
- 45:32Speaker 4: So my prediction for the game is Buffalo thirty.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Two, thirty two, twenty eight. Okay, Paul gets his shootout. No,
- 45:43Speaker 2: but that's like, thanks Todd.
- 45:44Speaker 3: That's a pot game.
- 45:45Speaker 5: And that doesn't sound like anybody got punched in the face.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Right unless it was like thirty one nothing at one point?
- 45:53Speaker 1: But yeah, uh.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Darius from Louisville writes in at podcasts at Patriots dot Com.
- 46:00Speaker 2: I have a couple of things to say, he says.
- 46:01Speaker 2: I believe no matter what sport you play or coach,
- 46:04Speaker 2: you always circle at least one game on your schedule,
- 46:07Speaker 2: whether it's a rival X team or a certain matchup
- 46:09Speaker 2: you may have. So I think Josh, Drake and Diggs
- 46:13Speaker 2: have something to prove Sunday night. And by Josh he
- 46:17Speaker 2: means McDaniels, I'm sure uh, And we will see a
- 46:21Speaker 2: couple of new things from Josh that involves Diggs getting
- 46:24Speaker 2: schemed open. I think we are up and ready for
- 46:27Speaker 2: the challenge and we win the game thirty one to
- 46:29Speaker 2: twenty eight.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Wow, just flip it.
- 46:33Speaker 2: So this is a circle game. Schedule came out. They
- 46:36Speaker 2: all circled this game.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Why would McDaniels.
- 46:39Speaker 1: I think he would have circled the Raiders, right, That's.
- 46:44Speaker 7: Like Digs I get it. Yeah, for all the reasons,
- 46:46Speaker 7: Fred said.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Mac Collins. What did Mac Collins have to say yesterday
- 46:48Speaker 1: about the match?
- 46:49Speaker 5: Mc collins just circles the whole season because he played
- 46:51Speaker 5: for every team back as.
- 46:53Speaker 9: One of my favorite interviews I've ever done, and I
- 46:55Speaker 9: think I could have gone for like an hour with him,
- 46:57Speaker 9: but he was just like, they're just a discipline team.
- 47:00Speaker 9: They're the alphas of the division right now, so you're
- 47:02Speaker 9: always going to look at a game against an opponent
- 47:04Speaker 9: like that and want to bring it all. I don't
- 47:06Speaker 9: think did you.
- 47:07Speaker 5: Talk to Mac for the TV show? Yes, Patriots Unfiltered
- 47:12Speaker 5: on TV?
- 47:14Speaker 1: Okay, Mike.
- 47:16Speaker 5: Mike deemed it powat so.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Television one being one word, and that will be.
- 47:23Speaker 7: Today tonight tonight tonight night.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Yea as Channel thirty eight.
- 47:27Speaker 5: As you're watching the Red Sox in between innings.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Flip over, Yeah, Jeff and Canada disappointing to find out
- 47:34Speaker 2: that the PU team is so napped deprived. Naps are
- 47:38Speaker 2: considered very healthy, Yes they are. I agree. I'm taking
- 47:44Speaker 2: the Bills in this game. I just don't think they'll
- 47:47Speaker 2: take us lightly because it's division game, which essentially counts
- 47:50Speaker 2: more in the standings, we're not quite ready for Sunday Night.
- 47:53Speaker 2: The decision for a Sunday Night appearance would have been
- 47:56Speaker 2: made in April. What do you think drove the league
- 47:59Speaker 2: to that decision.
- 48:01Speaker 5: I think Drake May, Josh Allen, I think they look
- 48:05Speaker 5: you know that they look ahead, and they're trying to say, like,
- 48:07Speaker 5: this is a young guy, a lot of people compared
- 48:09Speaker 5: skill wise, you know, skill set to Josh Allen, second
- 48:12Speaker 5: year new coach with Rabel, Yeah, let's put him on
- 48:16Speaker 5: the on the big stage.
- 48:17Speaker 3: And early in the season. So it's not like, you know,
- 48:20Speaker 3: they could have flexed them out, but like it's not
- 48:22Speaker 3: like the Patriots are three and eleven playing in Sunday night,
- 48:25Speaker 3: which is the last time they played on Sunday Night
- 48:27Speaker 3: in Denver in twenty twenty three was a Sunday night game.
- 48:31Speaker 5: But the.
- 48:34Speaker 3: You usually like when you have a team like the
- 48:36Speaker 3: Patriots Christmas game. Yeah, yeah, you're just not one hundred
- 48:40Speaker 3: percent sure what the other team is going to be.
- 48:43Speaker 3: It makes sense to put it in week five and two.
- 48:46Speaker 5: No, I I think it makes a lot of sense
- 48:49Speaker 5: if you were going to do it now. I think
- 48:51Speaker 5: what he was getting at is I'm surprised that the
- 48:53Speaker 5: Patriots got one sight unseen in April, they got a
- 48:56Speaker 5: Sunday night game at all. Yeah, which there's a fair
- 48:59Speaker 5: argument for that. But I could understand the leagues, but
- 49:02Speaker 5: I didn't really understand, like the league next week originally
- 49:04Speaker 5: putting the Saints game against the Patriots in the four
- 49:07Speaker 5: to twent slot. Yeah, and then they've since flexed that
- 49:11Speaker 5: out back to one one o'clock. But this game I
- 49:14Speaker 5: could understand it.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Did you get Buffalo Wings?
- 49:17Speaker 7: I did, because we got a lunch.
- 49:18Speaker 2: He didn't, but we did. We have a lunch buyer,
- 49:21Speaker 2: Pete Nadawa, who's now in Jupiter, Florida. Say hello to
- 49:24Speaker 2: Bill Parcells for us. Uh, brought lunch for us today.
- 49:28Speaker 7: Right, and that's why. So you sided can't take I
- 49:32Speaker 7: think Balo wing.
- 49:33Speaker 2: Everyone's senses are going crazy with smell.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I was thinking, you want to get Buffaloings. You
- 49:38Speaker 1: get pregame Buffalo Wings.
- 49:39Speaker 2: But Rodreck get Buffalo She says, wow, Fred, how unlike you?
- 49:46Speaker 2: Of course you want Digs to have a chip on
- 49:48Speaker 2: his shoulder. I'm sure that's what he means by emotional.
- 49:50Speaker 2: He'll be fiery and fully engaged. Probably a big day
- 49:54Speaker 2: for him, both in yards and decoy moves. Betty gets
- 49:56Speaker 2: a touchdown to book. It takes two to tango though.
- 50:00Speaker 5: I know what you're talking about. I know what It
- 50:03Speaker 5: takes too long to play like you did last week.
- 50:05Speaker 5: Not super jacked up, right?
- 50:08Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 50:08Speaker 6: But you know if he is superjacked up that the
- 50:10Speaker 6: Buffalo fans are going to hear it from him after
- 50:11Speaker 6: he scores touchdowns.
- 50:13Speaker 1: He used to give it to the Patriots fans. Oh yeah,
- 50:14Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to be on that side.
- 50:16Speaker 5: Will you be angry?
- 50:17Speaker 3: No, you're not going to be consistente?
- 50:20Speaker 1: No, No, that's okay. I'm perfectly consistent. If he's our guy,
- 50:25Speaker 1: I love him, he's there guy.

- 53:04Speaker 6: thanks for sitting down with us our first two timers.
- 53:06Speaker 6: Is your second time here in the studio, And I'm
- 53:08Speaker 6: just gonna start us off with a random question a
- 53:10Speaker 6: Wednesday practice in the NFL, like, what is that? What
- 53:13Speaker 6: does that entail? You know, you just got it back
- 53:15Speaker 6: off the field. How do you get things going during
- 53:17Speaker 6: the week. Yeah, it's just kind of our first introduction
- 53:19Speaker 6: to the opponent. We're doing a ton of first and
- 53:21Speaker 6: second down, get all our install in, see all their
- 53:24Speaker 6: kind of based D and D runs, passes, get a
- 53:26Speaker 6: ton of reps in reping, multiple calls to every the
- 53:30Speaker 6: big plays we expect to see. So it's a big
- 53:32Speaker 6: mental day getting a whole install in and then just
- 53:35Speaker 6: getting a ton of reps.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Jack, coming off that when we were just talking about it,
- 53:38Speaker 3: just a big win for you guys, and you said
- 53:41Speaker 3: you could feel something like that there. We're starting to
- 53:43Speaker 3: build towards something. I think is what you said, What
- 53:45Speaker 3: makes you feel that way? And how much does coach
- 53:48Speaker 3: Rabel have to do with that?
- 53:49Speaker 13: Yeah, I mean definitely, it feels like we're kind of
- 53:51Speaker 13: getting everyone on the same page, playing complimentary football. Like
- 53:54Speaker 13: last week he saw offense, defense, special teams all kind
- 53:57Speaker 13: of feeding off each other, getting that energy building, and
- 54:00Speaker 13: it's funny.
- 54:00Speaker 4: I was actually telling my wife before.
- 54:01Speaker 13: The game last week that we're sitting in the locker room,
- 54:04Speaker 13: in the lunch room, people were just good vibes, good energy, laughing,
- 54:07Speaker 13: joking around. I was like, it feels like we got
- 54:09Speaker 13: something going here, and I think we're gonna have a
- 54:11Speaker 13: great game. And then it turned out that way. So yeah,
- 54:13Speaker 13: that starts to like you said, with coach Braves at
- 54:15Speaker 13: the top, setting that tone. But I think guys are
- 54:17Speaker 13: really buying in.
- 54:18Speaker 3: So that's interesting that you said that you could feel
- 54:20Speaker 3: it before the game, because we always talk about that,
- 54:22Speaker 3: like you can feel that kind of thing, like even
- 54:24Speaker 3: on like a Friday, that you guys like are feeling
- 54:26Speaker 3: good that week.
- 54:27Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 54:27Speaker 4: I don't know what it was.
- 54:28Speaker 13: I just came home from work one day and I
- 54:30Speaker 13: was just like, man, today was really fun at work.
- 54:32Speaker 13: Felt like the guys were all like excited to be there,
- 54:35Speaker 13: good energy in the building, and I was like, I
- 54:36Speaker 13: think that.
- 54:37Speaker 4: We're going to play really well this week. I don't know,
- 54:39Speaker 4: but let's also back just quickly.
- 54:40Speaker 6: I mean, you've had last couple weeks you've been playing
- 54:42Speaker 6: a little bit more on defense.
- 54:43Speaker 1: You know, how's that been for you?
- 54:44Speaker 6: I know you're familiar with coach Brabel, but you know,
- 54:46Speaker 6: getting out there on defense, starting to make an impact
- 54:48Speaker 6: there too.
- 54:48Speaker 13: Yeah, definitely, just trying to take advantage of any opportunity
- 54:51Speaker 13: I get and help the team however I can. I
- 54:53Speaker 13: try to be as versatile as I can as a player,
- 54:55Speaker 13: be able to play multiple positions, help out on special teams,
- 54:57Speaker 13: and uh yeah, just excited.
- 54:59Speaker 4: To do anything I can us win.
- 55:00Speaker 3: Yeah, that one TfL in the game on Sunday, it
- 55:03Speaker 3: looked like you shot the gap there just with that
- 55:06Speaker 3: play or you and Robert kind of like switching assignments
- 55:08Speaker 3: or gaps. There is a cool play. I just wanted
- 55:11Speaker 3: to get your take.
- 55:11Speaker 13: Yeah, we just had a little man pressure on some
- 55:13Speaker 13: blitz and he's fitting off me and I'm just trying
- 55:15Speaker 13: to be disruptive and got the opportunity to make a play.
- 55:18Speaker 4: So yeah, it was good.
- 55:19Speaker 6: Nice along those lines out you guys. A couple times
- 55:21Speaker 6: you come out with the other team's had some drives
- 55:23Speaker 6: on you. But it seems like the adjustments have worked
- 55:25Speaker 6: really well. All of a sudden, you guys clamp it down.
- 55:27Speaker 6: They have trouble moving the ball. What's behind those adjustments
- 55:29Speaker 6: when you guys make them a game? Yeah, I think
- 55:31Speaker 6: a lot of it is just energy and execution. I mean,
- 55:33Speaker 6: we're making subtle adjustments here and there on kind of
- 55:36Speaker 6: something that we saw. But I think really what's been
- 55:38Speaker 6: happening for us is somebody makes a play and we
- 55:40Speaker 6: all start feeding off that and start playing together. Kind
- 55:43Speaker 6: Of the energy picks up that everybody's more locked in
- 55:46Speaker 6: after that first play gets made, and so that's a
- 55:48Speaker 6: big focus for.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Us right now.
- 55:49Speaker 13: We've been we've been talking about starting fast for the
- 55:51Speaker 13: last few weeks because we haven't done it, but just
- 55:53Speaker 13: everybody trying to be that guy to go make that
- 55:55Speaker 13: first play instead of kind of looking around waiting for
- 55:58Speaker 13: something to happen, Go make it happen and kind of
- 56:00Speaker 13: let the energy build from there.
- 56:01Speaker 3: I wanted to ask you about Special Teams. Obviously, AFC
- 56:04Speaker 3: Special Teams Player of the Week for Marcus Jones is
- 56:06Speaker 3: pretty cool. The second big return though, it looked like
- 56:10Speaker 3: you guys kind of were building that wall for him
- 56:12Speaker 3: to reverse field and I saw you in there. I
- 56:14Speaker 3: just take me through that play and also not blocking
- 56:19Speaker 3: back towards your old end zone as a penalty, right,
- 56:21Speaker 3: So I saw you guys kind of like boxing out
- 56:24Speaker 3: instead of blocking is out. I'm the store a coaching
- 56:26Speaker 3: point for you guys.
- 56:27Speaker 13: Yeah, I mean, first and foremost Marcus and then Travon
- 56:30Speaker 13: and give you on the kickoff return, Like we got
- 56:32Speaker 13: guys back there that can score anytime they touch it.
- 56:34Speaker 13: And as the guys blocking for him, that makes it
- 56:36Speaker 13: super fun because you've got confidence that, like, if I
- 56:38Speaker 13: do my job, this guy could really go. And so
- 56:41Speaker 13: I mean, Marcus put that on display last week and
- 56:44Speaker 13: we had that sideline return drawn up to the field,
- 56:46Speaker 13: and like you said, everybody kind of just set that
- 56:49Speaker 13: wall up and we just have trust that he's going
- 56:50Speaker 13: to set the blocks up and get out there. I
- 56:52Speaker 13: actually got beat off the line of scrimmage and so
- 56:54Speaker 13: I just ran to the wall. I was like, he's
- 56:56Speaker 13: going to show up out here somewhere. And then yeah,
- 56:58Speaker 13: finishing with the high screen technique like you said, I
- 57:01Speaker 13: didn't do that Week one against the Raiders cost us.
- 57:03Speaker 13: So something we've been emphasizing a lot lately. Just fit
- 57:06Speaker 13: our finishing techniques down the field to kind of keep
- 57:08Speaker 13: those penalties off.
- 57:09Speaker 6: Looking ahead to Buffalo, I know, you played up there
- 57:11Speaker 6: last year with the Titans. Know what was that experience
- 57:13Speaker 6: like and what did you take from it that you'll
- 57:15Speaker 6: use this week when you go up there.
- 57:16Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, obviously they're tough to beat at home.
- 57:18Speaker 13: I think it's fourteen or fifteen in a row that
- 57:20Speaker 13: they've won there, and they got a great crowd, and
- 57:23Speaker 13: if they get him into the game, it can be
- 57:25Speaker 13: a really tough environment to play in. So definitely got
- 57:28Speaker 13: to come out and start fast and start making plays.
- 57:30Speaker 13: That's the best way to quiet down the crowd. And
- 57:32Speaker 13: like I said, that's just going to help us feed
- 57:33Speaker 13: off that energy and just knowing that that connectedness that
- 57:36Speaker 13: I was talking about before the tider we stay as
- 57:39Speaker 13: a group, we can go in there and stick together
- 57:41Speaker 13: and get it done.
- 57:41Speaker 3: I have last one for me. I believe you've played
- 57:43Speaker 3: Josh Allen before right in your career. Just what's it
- 57:46Speaker 3: like facing him and how hard is it to tackle him?
- 57:49Speaker 3: Because he seems like a pretty hardy guy to tackle.
- 57:51Speaker 13: I mean, obviously he league MVP, he can do it all.
- 57:54Speaker 13: He can run, he can throw, he can make every
- 57:56Speaker 13: play in the book, and so definitely someone that you
- 57:59Speaker 13: got to prepare for and obviously, however he goes, they go,
- 58:02Speaker 13: and so that's something that we're going to have to
- 58:04Speaker 13: put a huge emphasis on, is keeping him in the pocket,
- 58:06Speaker 13: keeping him contained, and yeah, try to slow their offense down.
- 58:09Speaker 6: This last one for me though, as a linebacker, I mean,
- 58:11Speaker 6: you've got deal with Cook, Kaid Knox. They've got a
- 58:14Speaker 6: good set of running backs and tight ends. You know,
- 58:16Speaker 6: what do you see from those guys as you get
- 58:17Speaker 6: ready for this one?
- 58:18Speaker 13: I mean, yeah, they've got a great group of skill
- 58:19Speaker 13: players in general, and they spread the ball around to everyone.
- 58:22Speaker 13: I mean, obviously they're the number one rushing offense in
- 58:24Speaker 13: the league right now. Cook is a great back. He's
- 58:27Speaker 13: super physical, fast, kind of just needs a little bit

- 1:01:26Speaker 4: Now great moments in.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: History.
- 1:01:30Speaker 7: All right, so we're going to go negative concerns. This
- 1:01:33Speaker 7: is basically my wheelhouse.
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: Okay, So I would worry that how they played offensively
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: is how they want.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: To play right, But you're worried about it.
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: Yeah, how they played offensively in the game is not
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: an aberration. That's how they want to go.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: To hellent that they want to be conserve. Didn't be
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: worried about it?
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: No, I'm that's something that I don't think a lot
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: of people are worried about.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: But I'm talking about you. But you are worried about it.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: So the question was, so I think he just put
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: me in I felt like we were doing picks. All
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: of a sudden, he put me in the grinder. The
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: question was, what is something that you were worried about
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: that other people aren't. You know that you shouldn't be no,
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: He asked for both. Helen asked, no, I know, but it.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: Wasn't what are you worried about that? Other people? It's like,
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: what are you worried about that you shouldn't be worried about?
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: Okay, well, this is something that other people aren't worried about.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: But I went bringing other people. I want to know
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: your opinion.
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: I just told you, Okay, how they play offense is
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: something that I would I would be worried about that.
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: Fans aren't they think that Sunday was great?
- 1:02:35Speaker 7: Right?
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: That?
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: What that was the second part of that.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: That's the spirit of the question.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: That's another great moment.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: All right back here on Patriots Unfiltered eighty five five
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: PATS five hundred is the hotline podcast at Patriots dot Com.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: Is the email address Cody wants to apologize to Mike Cody,
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: I just wanted to follow up on my email yesterday
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: snarking at Mike for his oak Golly g Buffalo needs
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: to win a Super Bowl. I completely agree that Josh
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: and that organization are top tier in the AFC and NFL.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Just wanted to give Alex Barth props for his elite
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: hater status. He can throw some start on getting sometimes
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: they hair too much. Bills love on my favorite Patriots. Listen,
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: love you, Mike, keep doing that.
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: Well, you didn't have to walk it back, because I
- 1:03:21Speaker 6: was thinking about that last night, and I think it
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: was a little extreme saying that I think, you know,
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: I'd like to see Buffalo won a Super Rule. But
- 1:03:27Speaker 6: I think the bigger thing though, for me, is that
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: the Patriots for the last few years that I've been here,
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: have just been so far behind the Bills that I
- 1:03:35Speaker 6: was just kind of resigned and just appreciating that they
- 1:03:37Speaker 6: were a good team and not really looking at them
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: as a rival or a team that, you know, we
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: were kind of competing with. But I think now it
- 1:03:44Speaker 6: feels like the Patriots are surgeon a little bit, like
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: now I'm going to start to hate the Bills again
- 1:03:48Speaker 6: and be like, oh, you know, we can get them,
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: and I'll be back on the train of like I
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: don't ever want to see them win a Super Bowl.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Patriots got to put an end to Josh Allen and says.
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: I just don't really see the issue. If your team
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: doesn't win it, what do you care?
- 1:04:01Speaker 12: Who you know?
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: The other thirty one teams? Like you might think one
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: team you might think.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: You don't get more than the division.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: You don't get it.
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: I would root against a team I hate, like the
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: Jets would bother me.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: But I make up Miami. I hate them.
- 1:04:13Speaker 12: No.
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: Not.
- 1:04:14Speaker 7: But you hate everybody? Not not everybody does that.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: I don't do it, not everybody. I Actually I have
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: reasons you do you hate.
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: And I respect it, and I do. I have my reasons,
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: most of them I can rattle off for you. Cincinnati,
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: the Raiders, well, Steelers, like you.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Hate everybody, it makes it more fun.
- 1:04:35Speaker 7: I'm not telling you that I don't hate watch. I
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: have a lot of teams, you know the right.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: I like putting myself out there.
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: I have a lot of teams that I don't mind
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: being not necessarily for.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: I don't mind being vulnerable. Fans like Paul, I don't
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: want to be vulnerable.
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: Now that's not true.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: They want to hold back. So you know I don't
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: have to. You know, I'm not going to be made
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: fun of. I'm not going to get my feelings hurt.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: I'm not going to be made vulnerable. I don't mind it.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: I'm out there.
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: Do I strike you as the type that's afraid to
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: be emotional about things.
- 1:05:03Speaker 9: Based on every morning when I walk in.
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: No, thank you, it's pretty I'm afraid to put my
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: rooting interests out there because I'm.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Going to get hurt.
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: Well imsestion, for God's sakes, they haven't won anything ever,
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: well anything that's kind of like a pet thing for you,
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: you know, like, well, yeah, pretty much the opposite of
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: how I I root against a lot of teams rather
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: than rooting four teams.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly right.
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: But I just don't understand why it has to be
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: the ones that you do. Like, it doesn't bother me.
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: If Kansas City wins, it bothers you.
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: To no end.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: That's so much Kansas City. Yeah, oh no, no, no,
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: I'm serious. I tell you. I tell you if it
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: was true, that bothers me.
- 1:05:44Speaker 9: I mean, he bothers me that more than most because
- 1:05:46Speaker 9: I don't want them. Even in the conversation of the
- 1:05:49Speaker 9: dynasty that Patriots, No, that's very rational thing with the Steelers.
- 1:05:53Speaker 9: I don't want them to win it.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: Yeah, but I just hate myhomes is so good. You
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: got to give him, you know.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: Give it that.
- 1:06:00Speaker 5: But they can still annoys at Buffalo and they make
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: the guys making fun of them.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: V from Pittsburgh says, I think I've identified the reason
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: for the argument between Paul and Fred earlier in the show.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: On yesterday's show, Paul handed the mantle of Bill's hater
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: in chief to Barth and relegated Fred to second place.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: Fred can't be second place. He's the o G. I
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: didn't really take it that way, but good.
- 1:06:27Speaker 7: He does make you look like you that.
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: I think Josh Allen is like a yeah, you know,
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: the best of it better than Brady's.
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: I don't.
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm telling you, I've been on show so them
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: like probably three years in a row where he's predicted
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: the Bills would wouldn't make the playoffs.
- 1:06:44Speaker 9: Where does it come from?
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: You know, I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: That's a great question my personal opinion. And I said
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: this a little bit yesterday. I think it was when
- 1:06:52Speaker 5: you guys were gone. It's just me and Freddie we
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: we really chop it up. Yeah, it's just Fred and I.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Sure.
- 1:06:58Speaker 7: I think coming out of the.
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: Draft, after a lot of people that just thought this
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: guy is terrible.
- 1:07:02Speaker 7: Yeah, and these.
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: Draft knicks and definitely one of the they get take committed. Yeah,
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: And I just don't think it's that hard to just
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: say I was.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Wrong Darius, and Louisville follows up in his email. There's
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: a lot of Darius is right, a little bit Nan
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: and the tailpipe there. I wasn't saying Josh had this
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: game circled. I was just saying he knows how important
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: and serious the game could be for Drake and Diggs,
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: so he will have something up his sleeves for them. Guys.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: That's all Paul like that.
- 1:07:30Speaker 10: I like that.
- 1:07:31Speaker 7: That was Evan that called you out. He's not here
- 1:07:33Speaker 7: to defend himself.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I like that though.
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: I mean that that's I think that's kind of Josh,
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: like he's always got something up a sleeve. We haven't
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: really seen too much trickeration yet this year. Maybe the
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: uh the fake push push back.
- 1:07:47Speaker 7: There's been a lot.
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: I think there's been a lot of misdirections, a lot
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: of fake end arounds, a lot of end around double
- 1:07:52Speaker 5: double pass. Might like a trick play, I mean, you
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: might run a trick play a season, like a like
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: a true bred, a true trick check player. But like,
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: I think they've done a lot of creative things in
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: the first full I think they're empty in the bucket.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: Flicker with with Kyle Williams send him out into the pattern?
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: Was that what they ran? I forget.
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: Maybe it's just a play action trying to take a
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: shot with three times.
- 1:08:12Speaker 7: Yeah, I think that.
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: Yeah, like that would be in my my mind's eye,
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: something like that that kind of walks line the double
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: pass or half back option.
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: I don't know if they'll get that crazy, but I
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: do think they'll They'll try to maybe scheme something up
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: just to get get Digs a play, you know.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: I think that's that's what do.
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: You think that Josh Josh McDaniels is looking at this
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: game plan differently than any of the others because.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: It's I think it's a progression in his mind.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: I don't think.
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: But I would say as a coach, being conscious of
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: your players, knowing that if I get Digs a big
- 1:08:42Speaker 6: play early on, he's going to be fired up and
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: locked in even more, and I'd love to, you.
- 1:08:46Speaker 10: Know, get that.
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that makes sense because against Buffalo it
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: might be in my best interest to get Digs involved.
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and Matt Collins too, right, Yeah.
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: Anthony, that's Miami Anthony, get him involved against the Raiders.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: Anthony has a reason why Josh might circle this game.
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: Atlanta's coming up.
- 1:09:06Speaker 7: Sorry, just let us play.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: Anthony Might says, the reason why Josh might have circled
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: this game is because the twenty one playoff game where
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: we got wrecked, that's the last game he coached against
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: them in New England. May he may want a shot
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: at redemption.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: They were overmatched.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: Do you think he's thinking about that game?
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: I think he blocked it out like I did.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: That game is rude, Kyle and Pembroke. Sunday Night will
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: be the resurgence of the Patriots franchise and the emergence
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: of Drake May as the top quarterback.
- 1:09:38Speaker 14: In the league.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: Fireworks are going to go off in Buffalo with a shootout.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: The Patriots will beat the Bills thirty eight thirty five,
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: with Drake May outdueling Josh Allen, showing the league that
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: the Patriots are real and so is Drake May and
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: reigniting the rivalry between the Patriots Nation and Bill's Mafia.
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: Love it, resurgence, emergents, love it, love it.
- 1:10:01Speaker 6: Yeah, we'll see. I just I got questions about the
- 1:10:04Speaker 6: defense in this game. That's my focus, just simplicity is
- 1:10:09Speaker 6: I think the offense will move the ball. I think
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: they'll make some plays, they'll have a chance to put
- 1:10:13Speaker 6: some points on the board. Just how can the defense
- 1:10:15Speaker 6: find the stops and the turnovers necessary to keep the
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: Patriots in the game. And I just for a great
- 1:10:22Speaker 6: part of me just feels like I don't know exactly
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: what this defense still is yet. I know there are
- 1:10:25Speaker 6: pieces of it that work, but you know, can they
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: put together a full game, not come out slow, get
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: consistent pass rush? You know, even the game in Miami
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: where they had a good pass rush grade, which is
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: influencing a lot of their standings right now. You know
- 1:10:39Speaker 6: there's no pressure up until like the fourth quarter, and
- 1:10:42Speaker 6: they have like crazy amounts of it, So you know,
- 1:10:44Speaker 6: a consistent game from them, not that to me, I'm
- 1:10:47Speaker 6: no surprise looking at the defense.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: Robin san Diego. I watch the Bills and appreciate Josh
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: Allen even though I'm a Patriots fan. Why because he
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: hasn't won a ring. He's not a threat. I watch
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: Kansas City, not even in our a vision, and scream
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: every time Mahomes leaves the pocket hit him, such as
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: my psychosis.
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: That to me, because you want the Patriots to have
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: the most titles and your guy to have the most
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: like I understand that.
- 1:11:12Speaker 7: That makes sense to me.
- 1:11:13Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know how anybody can really hate Josh
- 1:11:16Speaker 6: Allen like I found Peyton Manning hard to hate, like
- 1:11:18Speaker 6: he's you know, no hilarious.
- 1:11:20Speaker 5: And yeah, I understood why. I understand why people don't
- 1:11:24Speaker 5: like Josh Allen because he's in the in the division.
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: I just disagree with it. That's all the same. It's
- 1:11:29Speaker 5: the same with Mahomes and it was the same with
- 1:11:30Speaker 5: Peyton Manning. I never had that kind of hatred for
- 1:11:33Speaker 5: Peyton Manning.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: Just the Jets.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: Jets have always just you know, I see the uniform
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: the Jets.
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: I can't ruin my Dolphins. Those are the two teams
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: that I hated the most.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Similar growing up. Frequencies of like the Buffalo Bills.
- 1:11:45Speaker 7: Don't they just relevant all the time.
- 1:11:47Speaker 9: Yeah, but they always just like your little annoying brother.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: But the nineties Bills did they didn't do any damage
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: to them.
- 1:11:53Speaker 7: The nineties the Patriots were so bad it didn't matter
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: to I was like.
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: Soil parcels came there, didn't happen until Austin and Oklahoma.
- 1:12:04Speaker 12: You're going.
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: Hurry, it's picked you know, don't forget. You gotta stink
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: it up like you do every week. Austin and that
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: was harsh.
- 1:12:20Speaker 9: The door was closed to I don't even know if
- 1:12:22Speaker 9: you heard it.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: Oh, we heard it, Austin and Oklahoma. I'm sneaky. Worry
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: that Drake being too amped up at the start of
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: the game is going to rear its head this week,
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: big divisional matchup in prime time, coming off a big win.
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: Wouldn't be surprised if Drake is pretty jacked up. I
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: sure hope Josh gives me some easy completions to get
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: him in the game first. I think that's something you
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: have to think about because he's been he gets he
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: gets amped up.
- 1:12:47Speaker 9: I mean, don't you think time experience, there's not a ton.
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: Don't you think that they'll have like easy completions early
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: in the game. They have every game done that.
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: But sometimes he overthrows those.
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: These he might not make them. Yeah, like against the Raiders,
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: you know, in the first one. In this game, he
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: only threw three and complete passes the whole game. One
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: of them was the first pass yep. So I mean
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: I'd be surprised that if they're going bombs away the
- 1:13:13Speaker 5: first drive like, I'm not telling you they won't take
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: a shot, but you know, like consistently, like every pass
- 1:13:19Speaker 5: is like twenty five yards downfield. They might take one
- 1:13:22Speaker 5: shot early in the game, but most of the games
- 1:13:25Speaker 5: so far it's been kind of conservative start offensively.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: Roberts says. While I didn't start rooting for the Patriots
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: until nineteen ninety one, I've lived in New York all
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: my life. Buffalo is the only true New York team.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: There's Jersey Team A and Jersey Team B calling themselves
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: New York as complete crap, just like their teams. I
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: would love to see the Bills win a Super Bowl,
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: as long as it isn't at the expense of the Patriots.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: My prediction for Sunday Night is thirty two to twenty
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: eight Bills, though my heart tells me differently. Let's show
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: Buffalo that the window was closing as fast as the
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Patriots are catching up.
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: That's the second thirty two to twenty eight prediction. We've
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: had Todd North Carolina Hall play it in the lottery.
- 1:14:06Speaker 9: That's a confidence in the defense.
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: It's a little bit of a different score too, you know,
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: it's not like thirty one twenty eight. Yeah, thirty two
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: to twenty eight. That's a little yeah, off the beaten path.
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: They have two different people say it. That's like a
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: Fred's score or a Chris Berman score.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: Yeah, David Nan David Maine says, you guys are frisky today.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: You're interrupting and talking over each other more than usual.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: I'm guessing it's because you know. The Patriots are flying
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: home with another win this Sunday. They are flukey wins
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: every Sunday. There are Yeah, the Giants beat the Charges,
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: the Browns beat the Ravens, and the Patriots will beat
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: the Bills. The Bills are four to zero and have
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: been smelling their own farts all month. And where the
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: perfect team? Where the perfect team to ruin it?
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: Let's go, Patrick, Browns beat the Packers. By the way,
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: I lost forty.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: One to ten, still an upset to the Browns.
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: Yeah, No, that's what I'm saying. That's the game he's
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: talking about.
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: Let's go to the hotline eight five to five, Pats,
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: five hundred, Shawn's and Vancouver. What's up, Sean.
- 1:15:06Speaker 18: Alex, I am totally with you. I don't want Kansas
- 1:15:10Speaker 18: City or Pittsburgh to win another Super Bowl. I want
- 1:15:14Speaker 18: the Patriots to improve and be alone in that championship
- 1:15:20Speaker 18: bragging rights. Now, Fred, I'd be concerned as well, you
- 1:15:24Speaker 18: know with your analysis of Diggs being too emotional, except
- 1:15:32Speaker 18: for the game last year in Houston around probably about
- 1:15:35Speaker 18: it almost a year ago because that was against the Bills.
- 1:15:40Speaker 18: Yeah it was in Houston, but still he did. Okay,
- 1:15:43Speaker 18: I'd be happy if he's six forra eight for eighty
- 1:15:46Speaker 18: two yards. So I'll leave you at that.
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: Good luck with the pis.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: Okay, thanks, Sean. You know that game, he's talking about Houston.
- 1:15:55Speaker 5: This is the first time he's going back to Buffalo.
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: That's the only going back to Buffer, right, that's the motion.
- 1:16:00Speaker 5: I know he said that, Yeah he said. I know
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: that's what Sean said. That game was in Houston, which
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: I don't think would be as emotional, like he's not
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: going home.
- 1:16:10Speaker 9: Like the fans aren't there yelling at him.
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: I think Fred's concerns I think you're I think they're valid.
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: I think you have that there's a definite scenario I
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: could see, well, he gets too jacked up for this
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: game and he doesn't play as well.
- 1:16:24Speaker 7: I don't think that will happen.
- 1:16:25Speaker 9: I just told you that he's like older and more
- 1:16:27Speaker 9: mature now and just has more wisdom and foresight to
- 1:16:31Speaker 9: just be level headed.
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: We've had many many emails about this topic. And I
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: don't know, Paul, if you're willing, but everybody wants to
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: know about this road rage story.
- 1:16:42Speaker 7: There was no road rage story.
- 1:16:45Speaker 9: Well there was a voice.
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you lost your voice.
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: I lost my voice because I was yelling yes, but
- 1:16:52Speaker 5: not necessarily.
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: Road You weren't enraged when you were yelling no, but
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: you were yelling was making fun of a guy. You're
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: making fun of a guy who was who are driving
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: like a heard o?
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: Correct?
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: So Paul, Paul was yelling at him.
- 1:17:04Speaker 5: But not necessarily at him. It was just like yelling. Yeah,
- 1:17:07Speaker 5: you got in front of me.
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: You're mocking like to myself because there was It wasn't
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: just to yourself. You were yelling.
- 1:17:14Speaker 5: But he got in front of me.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: I know he doesn't know what, but you did it
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: to such an extent that you your voice, so.
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: It was clapping for him. Good job you got in
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: front of me. It wasn't it was out there. It
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: was not internal. It was external.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: You lost your voice.
- 1:17:27Speaker 5: Why I was screaming to myself? It wasn't like to me,
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: a road rage incident means.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: You rolled down the window and brandish your weapon or got.
- 1:17:35Speaker 7: Out of the car.
- 1:17:36Speaker 5: And like I've seen there was a guy who shot
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: somebody in Saugust, like last.
- 1:17:41Speaker 9: Week going around too in Massachusetts. Of two people on
- 1:17:46Speaker 9: an exit ramp out of their car. It's a man
- 1:17:48Speaker 9: and a woman. The woman decks the guy and he
- 1:17:50Speaker 9: starts hitting her back. Oh my god, it's crazy people.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: What is going on with us?
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: What is going on?
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: So that's why I took exception to like the road race. Yeah,
- 1:18:03Speaker 5: I just was making fun of a guy.
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: In fact, you held back, you didn't get enrage.
- 1:18:10Speaker 5: If I hadn't lost my voice because of it, I
- 1:18:12Speaker 5: would say it was actually a sign of at age
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: fifty seven maturity, right because instead of trying to like
- 1:18:18Speaker 5: get in front of the guy, I just was like,
- 1:18:19Speaker 5: I'm not going to get in an accident over this.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: But you couldn't let it go.
- 1:18:23Speaker 7: But I couldn't just let it go.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: I let it go.
- 1:18:25Speaker 7: I had to make fun of them.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's better than you know, the alternatives usage.
- 1:18:30Speaker 9: Drivers would rather get into a collision than let you
- 1:18:33Speaker 9: get in front of them.
- 1:18:33Speaker 5: So oh yeah, I've been in that situation because I
- 1:18:36Speaker 5: never I've never had a nice car, so I don't
- 1:18:38Speaker 5: really care if you bump into it. And I certainly
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: would fall into that category currently now. But even my
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: car that I don't care if it gets a dent,
- 1:18:45Speaker 5: and it needs to last me a little while longer.
- 1:18:47Speaker 9: So I tried to chances and he sped up so
- 1:18:51Speaker 9: I couldn't, and he gave me them a tumbo finger.
- 1:18:53Speaker 9: And I've always just respected the hell out of that,
- 1:18:55Speaker 9: and now I use it all the time. And I
- 1:19:00Speaker 9: was like, my cap, what can I say to that?
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: I know?
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: But like, why don't we all right?
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: Let's go?
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: Why is everybody in a rush?
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: Sean in Virginia? What's up? Sean?
- 1:19:13Speaker 12: How's it going?
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:19:14Speaker 7: Sorry?
- 1:19:17Speaker 12: When I look at this game, this game is kind
- 1:19:19Speaker 12: of like reminiscent of the past past foes throughout the season,
- 1:19:23Speaker 12: this far like they don't have a lot of good
- 1:19:25Speaker 12: skilled position players. So when I look at this defense,
- 1:19:28Speaker 12: this defense should be able to line up and win
- 1:19:31Speaker 12: most of them matchups against the opposing team's offensive players. Now,
- 1:19:35Speaker 12: what it's gonna come down to when when I look
- 1:19:36Speaker 12: at this game, is that the linebackers had to play
- 1:19:38Speaker 12: a stellar, you know, fantastic game, you know, be able
- 1:19:41Speaker 12: to bottle up James Cook and johns Allen because if
- 1:19:45Speaker 12: they don't, they're not able to do that. Then that's
- 1:19:48Speaker 12: how Josh Allen is able to convert you know, key
- 1:19:51Speaker 12: third downs that he probably should have no business converting.
- 1:19:53Speaker 12: So it's gonna come down to a linebacker play when
- 1:19:55Speaker 12: it comes to play against Josh Allen. They do that,
- 1:19:57Speaker 12: then I probably can see the Patriots probably winning about
- 1:20:00Speaker 12: two scores, to be honest with you, but I can
- 1:20:02Speaker 12: see Jos Alan converting Keith start down, so you had
- 1:20:05Speaker 12: no business converting. That's all I have to say.
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: Okay, thanks Sean.
- 1:20:11Speaker 7: You know I'm pretty optimistic about this game, right yeah,
- 1:20:14Speaker 7: I do.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: Now, So.
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: Buffalo has no business converting third downs, certain third downs,
- 1:20:25Speaker 5: but the Patriots do. Like why are the Patriots converting
- 1:20:31Speaker 5: on third down in this scenario that they're winning this
- 1:20:33Speaker 5: game by multiple scores? Yes, we're good, but like they
- 1:20:37Speaker 5: are two games behind it, like they've played four games.
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: They are two games behind already, right, Like, why are
- 1:20:43Speaker 5: we just dismissing? Buffalo says, this is what the Patriots
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: fans do, Like I'm going to be excited if the
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: Patriots win this game, because I think Buffalo is really
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: good and it will mean more to me than what
- 1:20:53Speaker 5: they did against Carolina, who I think is really bad. Right,
- 1:20:56Speaker 5: Patriots fans are going to talk themselves into not all
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: of them, because there's been a lot of people that
- 1:21:00Speaker 5: have piticked thirty two to twenty eight. So I'm not
- 1:21:03Speaker 5: painting everybody with a broad brush. But Deshaun, who calls
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: in the show every day, which we love, is like
- 1:21:10Speaker 5: obviously doesn't think much of Buffalo. Like I mean, if
- 1:21:14Speaker 5: the linebackers to stop Josh Allen from converting third downs
- 1:21:17Speaker 5: he has no business converting, then they're gonna win by
- 1:21:18Speaker 5: two touchdowns.
- 1:21:20Speaker 7: Okay, then you don't think Buffalo is any.
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: Good then, or maybe he just thinks we're really good.
- 1:21:27Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, I'm sure he thinks the Patriots are
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: really good, but he doesn't also doesn't think the Buffalo's
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: any good. If you just think that, there's all you
- 1:21:34Speaker 5: gotta do is stop Josh Allen from converting more Gordon lungs.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: We're up for a tough one. It's Dana, a hard game,
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: Dan and Poughkeepsie. I thought about calling it earlier this
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: week to congratulate Evan for overriding the Headsets on Sunday
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: to call power for trev Trevion's first touchdown. But I
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: feel there's even bigger news you people have not addressed yet.
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: I was catching up on Paul's shows, where the man
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: himself claimed he was throwing eighty five back in the
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: day at BU. We need you in the lineup tonight, Paul,
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: both socks and three.
- 1:22:06Speaker 7: I could throw strikes for an or two.
- 1:22:08Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a short you might need a short portion,
- 1:22:11Speaker 5: right though.
- 1:22:12Speaker 7: I don't know if I'd like that.
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: They might need you. Yeah, but let's go Red Sox.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: I don't know how they're gonna do it, but.
- 1:22:18Speaker 7: Like Tom Warner there, let's go Red Socks.
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: Bell and San Diego. Paul, Like you, I hate the Dolphins.
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: It goes all the way back to the Marino days.
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: I never hated the Jets per se as they have
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: never really been good, but I can't stand their fans.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: I root against the Jersey Jets just despite their idiot fans.
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: Out of curiosity. Who are each of your most hated
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: sports teams? Mine are the Yankees, Canadians, Lakers, and Dolphins.
- 1:22:44Speaker 7: That's a good good rundown for me.
- 1:22:46Speaker 5: Yeah, Yankees for sure, and I would put the Dolphins
- 1:22:50Speaker 5: at the top of my NFL list. It goes back
- 1:22:53Speaker 5: to the Bob Greasy, but it's more Don Shula. I
- 1:22:56Speaker 5: just hated every every year they'd play in the Orange
- 1:22:59Speaker 5: Bowl and did be some obscure rule that would kill
- 1:23:01Speaker 5: the Patriots And Don Shula was on the rules committee,
- 1:23:04Speaker 5: so it always benefited his team. And you know, I
- 1:23:07Speaker 5: know it didn't make any sense, but like ten year
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: old Paul thought that way, and like to me, that
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: made sense that like, really, Don Shula wasn't throwing the flags,
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: but works.
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: I think in one of our newsletters we listed our
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: top rival, our top hated teams.
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: Well, we had to do an extra page document because
- 1:23:27Speaker 5: Freddy had just too many.
- 1:23:29Speaker 9: We did a newsletter where you explained all your patriot
- 1:23:33Speaker 9: and where it came from.
- 1:23:34Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: It was called the Suppler.
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: I think it was ranked. We had to rank them too. Remember,
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: and Paul, you were you were surprised at one of mine.
- 1:23:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I was surprised. I forget what I was surprised at, though,
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: you know me ct.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: It changes, you know, like, you know, what did they
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: say lately that offended me.
- 1:23:51Speaker 9: Yeah, board material have been given.
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: Jordan in London. Quick game about around whether you think
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: Drake is clutter not. I think Baker Mayfield is clutch
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: but not very talented. I think Justin Herbert is close
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: to the opposite, super talented but not really clutch. With
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: that in mind, which quarterback would you pick from Drake, Baker,
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: and Herbert for the following for one drive to win
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: a game?
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: Baker?
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: Yeah, for this season, only Herbert Herbert for the next
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: five years.
- 1:24:25Speaker 5: M Drake, But I'll say I'll say Drake may because
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: I think there's still a chance that he gets that
- 1:24:35Speaker 5: that I haven't seen from Herbert yet, So I'll say
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: Drake may for the last one.
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: Okay, all right?
- 1:24:45Speaker 5: Uh no Baker Mayfield defense from you. It's a little surprised.
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: I've said what I said about Baker the better league.
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: With him in it, so I figured you would have
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: said Baker Mayfield for all of them.
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: No Drake for the next five years.
- 1:24:57Speaker 9: Absolutely well, how do you feel about out Baker getting
- 1:25:01Speaker 9: super like finding things to be emotional about going into
- 1:25:04Speaker 9: games like he finds an issue with some random person
- 1:25:08Speaker 9: on every team. That's how they've slighted.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't know that. Is that what he does? Yeah?
- 1:25:12Speaker 9: What what was his thing with Carolina? It was like
- 1:25:16Speaker 9: a random coach that he was like holding a grudge
- 1:25:19Speaker 9: against going into their games and he states it out yeah,
- 1:25:22Speaker 9: and press conferences and then I think the coach was like, yeah,
- 1:25:25Speaker 9: I definitely didn't have a like personnel decision because I
- 1:25:29Speaker 9: wouldn't have gotten rid of Christian McCaffrey. It was like
- 1:25:32Speaker 9: a recent thing in the last week or so. Baker
- 1:25:35Speaker 9: loves a bulletin board material.
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: Okay, I think he's good for the league.
- 1:25:39Speaker 5: Like Baker, he's played well, your whole thing, but he
- 1:25:45Speaker 5: has played well. I don't understand why the league is
- 1:25:48Speaker 5: better because he's in it.
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: To have good characters that are good players, it's good
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: for the league.
- 1:25:56Speaker 7: But is he dad.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a good player.
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: No, no, No, like the whole character, he's a good
- 1:26:01Speaker 5: play I think he's played well the last couple of years.
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: But I think he's played well the last couple of years.
- 1:26:07Speaker 5: But I don't look at him like his success isn't
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: any better than anybody else's success. He's played well.
- 1:26:13Speaker 9: Maybe it's like giving a thing about like the quarterbacks
- 1:26:15Speaker 9: who maybe weren't given a proper chance early in their
- 1:26:18Speaker 9: career and which we're seeing a lot of stately and
- 1:26:21Speaker 9: they're going on to really find a strug.
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: There's only one of those guys, Alex that Fred claims
- 1:26:26Speaker 5: is good for the league, like Sam Donald's not good
- 1:26:28Speaker 5: for the league. Gino Smith is a good little more
- 1:26:31Speaker 5: vanilla than Baker.
- 1:26:33Speaker 9: Agree with.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: Of course, there are other guys who are good for
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: the league, but I think Baker is one of them,
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: like the d I don't think. I don't think he
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: gets enough respect.
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: Daniel Jones good for the league. He's having a good
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: second act in Indianapolis.
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: He's neutral. He's not bad for the league. Neutral, he's neutral.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: He's neutral. It's not bad.
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: But you know, I'm not disagreeing with your assessment of
- 1:26:54Speaker 5: Baker Mayfield. He has had a career resurgence and he's
- 1:26:57Speaker 5: played well.
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: Like Joe the size effect, he's a great quot is
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: good for the league because he's got his unique aura
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: Aura riz would you know, drip fit. He's got good fits.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: You know, he's just different, like he's unique, he's genuine.
- 1:27:15Speaker 9: The other thing is funny because you can tell when
- 1:27:17Speaker 9: his stylist is dressing him and when he's just putting
- 1:27:20Speaker 9: on whatever he wants because he either looks ridiculous when
- 1:27:24Speaker 9: his stylist dresses him, or he looks like a fourteen
- 1:27:27Speaker 9: year old boy and like an inn.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: But the fact that he's willing to be dressed up
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: like that and strut around, you know, do you think
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: good for the league? Yeah, and he's a good player.
- 1:27:36Speaker 5: You're kind of selling me. You're kind of selling me
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: like Cam Newton good for the league was when he
- 1:27:42Speaker 5: was in his heyday. Good for it was a character
- 1:27:45Speaker 5: more than just playing. Well, yeah, I get it. I
- 1:27:48Speaker 5: get it, at least it's been like two years. But
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: you finally explained it a little bit. Kind of selling me.
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: Oh boy, it took Alex to explain it for you.
- 1:27:59Speaker 5: But I'm just saying, like, it's not that.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: Other guys are bad for the league, but there's some
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: guys that like draw attention to the league.
- 1:28:06Speaker 5: I guess I just never really thought of Baker Mayfield
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: as one of those guys. Yeah, like Cam Newton, he
- 1:28:13Speaker 5: does have good commercials and that helps at home with
- 1:28:16Speaker 5: Baker may.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: Right, right, So now, oh he plays for that, he's
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: in the NFL. I like him. Good for the League's
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: good for the league. He sold me on it. Oh,
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: I'm so weird.
- 1:28:30Speaker 5: Take the win, Fred gave you the w.
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: Oh God, I need help Michelle, who loves it when
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: I call her Salatta In regards to the slot position,
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: could it be that fans in general just had high
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: hopes for Pop so far it hasn't made their expectations,
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: and therefore put Digs in the slot and make it
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: look like Julis or Welker because that's what we're used
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: to seeing in Josh's offense. But Drake isn't Tom, and
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: Josh has evolved. I don't think we'll win in Buffalo,
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: but the future is bright, so as Michelle, who loves it.
- 1:29:02Speaker 5: Not a lot to disagree with in that email. Yep,
- 1:29:05Speaker 5: I do think there's been some disappointment in Tomorroo Douglas.
- 1:29:07Speaker 5: I think people thought he was a volume guy and
- 1:29:10Speaker 5: so far it hasn't looked that way.
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: But it was a weapon. Yeah, let's see. Curtis and
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: Saint Louis. Want to thank you for the hard work
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: you put in. You give us PU Diehard so much
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: great content and entertainment each and every day. That being said,
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: I have one little fun Q and A for each
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: of you, Deuce, Oh he's not here.
- 1:29:30Speaker 7: I'll answer for Deuce.
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: What is your Patriots D line? Mount Rushmore, I can't answer.
- 1:29:36Speaker 9: We'll table that for him.
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: My guess is it will involve Richard Seymour, uh, Vince
- 1:29:43Speaker 5: will Fork, and there'll probably.
- 1:29:47Speaker 7: Be some other guy that I'm only hunt of. No
- 1:29:50Speaker 7: like a more.
- 1:29:53Speaker 5: Like a more obscure guy that he fell in love
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: you know, ya fell in love with for no apparent reason,
- 1:29:59Speaker 5: kind of like Baker Mayfield being good for the league.
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: All right, Paul, is there one Patriot player you enjoyed
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: watching the most? If so, what's your favorite game they
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: played it? What's the one Patriot player you enjoyed watching
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: the most.
- 1:30:11Speaker 5: I mean, I think people know the answer to this question.
- 1:30:14Speaker 5: They're not going to like it. Drew Bledsoe.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: The game, the Buffalo game where he had the pin.
- 1:30:23Speaker 5: There's a lot to pick from. We talked about those
- 1:30:25Speaker 5: those back to back games in ninety eight. I think
- 1:30:29Speaker 5: when he had the finger the pin coming out of
- 1:30:30Speaker 5: his finger. The Miami Buffalo Miami was the better one
- 1:30:33Speaker 5: of the two. The Minnesota game where he took seventy
- 1:30:37Speaker 5: passes and came back for twenty up and down they
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: won that game in overtime.
- 1:30:45Speaker 7: I even like.
- 1:30:48Speaker 5: When he came when he first came into the AFC
- 1:30:51Speaker 5: Championship game. Now, the second half wasn't great for Drew,
- 1:30:54Speaker 5: so they wouldn't qualify, But that first drive when he
- 1:30:56Speaker 5: came in, I was so jacked up when he threw
- 1:30:59Speaker 5: those straight passes and then last one for a touchdown.
- 1:31:04Speaker 5: I don't know a lot to pick from.
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: Alex. You're in charge of planning rkk's next birthday bass bash.
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: It's going to be a spectacle. Friends, family, Patriots, players
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: and staff from pastor president will be in attendance. What
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: task would you find to be the most stressful out
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: of these three? The seating chart, the music playlist, and
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: entertainment or the food and drink.
- 1:31:25Speaker 9: Menu, entertainment, booking, talent.
- 1:31:29Speaker 5: Really not the seating chart, that's the answer.
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: Next to who.
- 1:31:33Speaker 9: I think that would be easier to manage. I have
- 1:31:35Speaker 9: a good sense of how to deal with people's egos.
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: I think what if it's why did you put me
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: next to Bill Parcells?
- 1:31:42Speaker 9: You wouldn't want to be next to Parcels.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: No, I'm not me, it's Robert.
- 1:31:46Speaker 5: I'm not, but I'm assuming Robert is sitting where he
- 1:31:48Speaker 5: wants the seating chart, is worrying about everybody else being
- 1:31:52Speaker 5: pissy about where they're sitting.
- 1:31:53Speaker 7: I agree with Alex, would.
- 1:31:55Speaker 9: Entertainment because it's got to be someone big. He's had
- 1:32:00Speaker 9: Ed Sheeran perform, He's had his rapper friends perform, like
- 1:32:04Speaker 9: you got on Elton John, Like, am I going to
- 1:32:07Speaker 9: get in touch with those people? It would be entertainment.
- 1:32:09Speaker 7: But do you pick the right one? How do you
- 1:32:11Speaker 7: know which one?
- 1:32:12Speaker 9: At least three people just to cover all my bases, like.
- 1:32:17Speaker 7: You know why Fred? Why did you get him?
- 1:32:20Speaker 5: Like? That would be my baconcern, right, you know, why
- 1:32:24Speaker 5: did you go with? You know, why didn't you call Elton?
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: Right like that?
- 1:32:28Speaker 7: That would be my concern getting the wrong one.
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: The question for Evan would have been, you've given the
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: opportunity to talk ball and break down film with anyone
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: ever employed with the Patriots. Who are you choosing? And
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: what games are you watching?
- 1:32:41Speaker 11: M h?
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: How many Adams?
- 1:32:45Speaker 15: Oh?
- 1:32:45Speaker 7: I thought it would be Bill?
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: Yeah, probably Bill Well.
- 1:32:48Speaker 9: When we did the newsletter last week and I had
- 1:32:50Speaker 9: you guys pick like your dream Patriots golf foursome, he
- 1:32:54Speaker 9: picked all his favorite offensive coordinators that right, Yeah, Charlie Weiss,
- 1:33:00Speaker 9: Bill O'Brien, Jim Daniels, so one of the ocs I
- 1:33:04Speaker 9: would imagine.
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and then Fred, if you could rewrite Patriot's history
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: and change one thing from the past, what would it
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: be and why? Oh, it's easy. Seven.
- 1:33:13Speaker 5: That would be my answer to that's easy.
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: Like I said many times, our lives would be different
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: if they had won that game.
- 1:33:19Speaker 7: Now, now the ninety six Super Bowl would be up
- 1:33:21Speaker 7: there for me too.
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: Than well if that happened, our lives could be different too,
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:33:27Speaker 5: Yeah, but seven undefeated thing is the answer to the question.
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Eric says Baker's strategy for picking out teams he
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: doesn't like seems awfully similar to Fred's. You find something
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: right right, Yeah, I agree. Okay, we're waiting for Deuce
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: to get back here, so we can start picks while
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: we're waiting. Joby writes in I disagree about hating on
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: Peyton Manning. I will always hate on that guy for
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: what he did to that female trainer at UT and
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: got her fired after she Oh I heard about that.
- 1:34:03Speaker 5: Yeah, if you hated everybody for those reasons, then I
- 1:34:06Speaker 5: would respect it.
- 1:34:06Speaker 7: But you don't.
- 1:34:07Speaker 5: You hate Peyton Manning because he was the Colts quarterback.
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: How do you know it isn't because I know, Okay,
- 1:34:14Speaker 5: naff I.
- 1:34:15Speaker 9: Had no problem hating Peyton Manning at the time. It
- 1:34:17Speaker 9: was only after that I kind of came around to
- 1:34:19Speaker 9: him after he retired.
- 1:34:20Speaker 5: And I have no like, I don't necessarily you know,
- 1:34:27Speaker 5: like the Colts and the Patriots, that was a huge rivalry.
- 1:34:30Speaker 5: The Brady Manning thing was big. So if you're a
- 1:34:32Speaker 5: Patriots fan, you just naturally hate Peyton Manning. That makes
- 1:34:35Speaker 5: perfect sense to me. That's sports hatred, you know what
- 1:34:38Speaker 5: I mean. Yeah, what I never understood is Peyton Manning
- 1:34:42Speaker 5: sucks because he wasn't as good as brain right, you know,
- 1:34:46Speaker 5: Like that's what I didn't get.
- 1:34:48Speaker 11: Right, you know.
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: And your philosophy is build him up because then when
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: you beat him, it's more of an accomplishment.
- 1:34:55Speaker 5: But you don't even have to build him up because
- 1:34:57Speaker 5: I don't need to make it more or less than
- 1:34:59Speaker 5: it is. But it should be an accomplishment that you're
- 1:35:02Speaker 5: proud of.
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: Yep, what's going I thought I heard it too, He's coming.
- 1:35:11Speaker 4: What's going on?
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: Waiting?
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: That's waiting?
- 1:35:14Speaker 7: I thought we were getting the grand entrance?
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:35:17Speaker 7: Is he is he here, Alex, do we are you
- 1:35:19Speaker 7: aware that?
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: Look who's back from the locker room?
- 1:35:23Speaker 9: Was the character friendly to that?
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: None of them looked like Tamn Henry Hay, Mike.
- 1:35:29Speaker 11: What was it like in the locker room?
- 1:35:35Speaker 10: What was it like in the.
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: Locker got his notes?
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: I'm still using my terrible picture.
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: Here.
- 1:35:47Speaker 15: No.
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: I came back quick.
- 1:35:47Speaker 6: I don't have a huge update today because got in
- 1:35:50Speaker 6: a tiny bit late. There wasn't a lot going on.
- 1:35:51Speaker 6: We only talked to Antonio Gibson in terms of scrums.
- 1:35:54Speaker 6: Give me just the general stuff, you know, excited to
- 1:35:57Speaker 6: go up there see what they got, not taking the
- 1:35:59Speaker 6: bills lightly, not listening to any of their rankings or
- 1:36:02Speaker 6: any of that kind of stuff. So, you know, mostly
- 1:36:05Speaker 6: was talking with some of the media members. I found
- 1:36:07Speaker 6: out Alex Barf I went in. I was like, why
- 1:36:08Speaker 6: do you hate the Bills? And you just feel like
- 1:36:10Speaker 6: they haven't won anything yet and everyone's pumping them up.
- 1:36:13Speaker 6: And they didn't really talk about a Josh Allen take,
- 1:36:15Speaker 6: but it was more just feeling like the Bills have
- 1:36:17Speaker 6: been crowned for not doing I guess and making it
- 1:36:20Speaker 6: to a Super.
- 1:36:20Speaker 5: Bowl, right, which would be perfectly reasonable if he didn't
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: tell me they weren't going to make the playoffs every year,
- 1:36:25Speaker 5: Like telling me they're not going to win the Super
- 1:36:27Speaker 5: Bowl is different from saying they're not good. Yeah, no,
- 1:36:31Speaker 5: do you know what I mean? Yeah, that's a good news, Freddy.
- 1:36:34Speaker 5: Only fourteen games this week, So okay, some buys son
- 1:36:38Speaker 5: see as much time as normal.
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: So in our eyes on Evan segment, who was he
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: talking to Evan?
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: That's a good one. Who did I see? Now, I
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: didn't see I was talking anybody. He was kind of
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: lurking a little bit, you know, like he usually does,
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: feeling things out. You know, you just you never know.
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: You turn around and he's just standing there like.
- 1:36:54Speaker 9: You know, he walks around with his hands behind his
- 1:36:56Speaker 9: back like and just like looks around.
- 1:36:59Speaker 6: I can kind of he has to shift behind him, right, ight,
- 1:37:02Speaker 6: Mike Coup when you like open his locker, Evan was
- 1:37:04Speaker 6: in the lockers just like, hello.
- 1:37:08Speaker 5: That would be commercial, the progressive commercial. Yeah, say anything
- 1:37:13Speaker 5: for it? Right, So yeah, so condic quiet brief.
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: Stay in locker room today so we can we can
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: get right to pick.
- 1:37:19Speaker 2: All right, let's get the picks. All right, it's that
- 1:37:21Speaker 2: time of the week. I'm gonna have the music p
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: seems okay, Paul, what happened last week?
- 1:37:29Speaker 5: So last week it just continues to be dominated by
- 1:37:32Speaker 5: two people at the top Alex and Fred eleven four
- 1:37:36Speaker 5: and one Budge, followed by Paul, Evin and Mike at
- 1:37:41Speaker 5: nine to six and one. Okay, So season standings Alex
- 1:37:45Speaker 5: and Fred forty eight, fifteen and one, followed by Mike
- 1:37:50Speaker 5: forty twenty three and one, Evan thirty seven, twenty six
- 1:37:54Speaker 5: and one, and loseraboy thirty five twenty eight and one.
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: With the spread, this is where it gets interesting.
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: Three ways high at the top, oh, Alex, Fred and
- 1:38:06Speaker 5: Paul wow ten and six. Good week money can hold
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: my head up high at the water fountain this week yeah,
- 1:38:13Speaker 5: Evan eight and eight, Mike five and eleven pretty.
- 1:38:16Speaker 6: Bad and I it was like two wins for a while.
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: I think it won two of night games, the two
- 1:38:20Speaker 6: Monday night games. I needed those big time.
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: So the season standing for the spread, Fred ridiculously impressive
- 1:38:26Speaker 5: thirty nine and twenty five, followed by Alex at thirty
- 1:38:31Speaker 5: three and thirty one, then Evan at thirty and thirty four,
- 1:38:37Speaker 5: Paul twenty nine and thirty five, Mike twenty five and
- 1:38:40Speaker 5: thirty nine. Hey, I've gotten myself out of the basement
- 1:38:46Speaker 5: spread and I'm in the base long climb for four weeks,
- 1:38:49Speaker 5: so I think.
- 1:38:50Speaker 4: What's going on?
- 1:38:51Speaker 2: Yeah, here's the sh But Alex uoses that sheet too,
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: and well, there you go.
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: I guess it's not the sheet. It's just my idiocy. No,
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: I didn't look up the uh look up the injuries.
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: That's what it was here. Yeah, that's the tan.
- 1:39:02Speaker 5: It's not the blonde hair jam. It's just dumbled you.
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: All right, let's get into it because we have to hurry.
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: You say, there's only fourteen games this week. This couple
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: buys tonight eight point fifteen on Prime video. Can't be
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: watching this one. Red Sox are on three and one
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: forty nine ers are at the three and one Rams.
- 1:39:22Speaker 7: Good game by eight and a half.
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: Eight and a half.
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that tells me that injuries are playing a big
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: factor in this one.
- 1:39:30Speaker 6: Yeah, for sure, that's definitely the case. On San Francisco,
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: I definitely gonna take the the ROMs to win. But
- 1:39:37Speaker 6: that's uh, that's a lot of points for a divisional game,
- 1:39:40Speaker 6: and I'm terrible at picking with the spread, so I'm
- 1:39:42Speaker 6: gonna go with the forty nine ers points please hmmm, I'll.
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: Take the Rams both ways.
- 1:39:50Speaker 9: I'm hesitant, but yeah, great, there's.
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: One last one.
- 1:39:54Speaker 9: You don't know.
- 1:39:55Speaker 5: I will take the Rams, but I'm gonna be with
- 1:39:57Speaker 5: Mike Thursday Night, Division game eight and half seems like
- 1:40:00Speaker 5: a lot, even with all those injuries.
- 1:40:02Speaker 7: I'll take the points.
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: Oh, I pick up another game in all of you
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: rams both ways?
- 1:40:07Speaker 7: Well, not on, Alex.
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: Oh you did it both ways? Okay, good, good, Alex. Good.
- 1:40:12Speaker 7: That's why you guys have a feel for the league.
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: Sunday nine thirty in the morning.
- 1:40:17Speaker 7: Oh right, the two and two Vikings.
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: Are at the one in three Browns.
- 1:40:22Speaker 9: What are they in England?
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: London?
- 1:40:23Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, just stay in Europe.
- 1:40:28Speaker 5: I believe they did the Vikings by four and a
- 1:40:30Speaker 5: half with Dylan Gabriel set to start, right.
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fun. Yeah, that Cleveland defense is really good.
- 1:40:40Speaker 6: I'm gonna take Minnesota to win the game, but I
- 1:40:43Speaker 6: think it's gonna be close one I'll take.
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: I'll take the points for Cleveland. I think their defense
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: keeps it close.
- 1:40:49Speaker 9: One more time.
- 1:40:50Speaker 5: With the spread ball four and a half, Minnesota Vikings favored.
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: They don't think very highly of Dylan Gabriel, neither the Shador, Sanders,
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: whole mind, weird Min's money.
- 1:41:06Speaker 5: Yeah, I be done with the headache now. And if
- 1:41:10Speaker 5: it turns out to be a good player, then all right.
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: So what he wasn't going to do that for me?
- 1:41:14Speaker 9: The defense of him is saying that. I guess Rex
- 1:41:16Speaker 9: Ryan told him he needs to just shut his mouth.
- 1:41:18Speaker 9: So he took that very literally, right, And that's why
- 1:41:20Speaker 9: I was kind of very immature to me.
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: But it's like a child.
- 1:41:25Speaker 9: Minnesota boy.
- 1:41:27Speaker 5: Oh yeah, still no JJ right, Yeah, I'm going to
- 1:41:33Speaker 5: take the Vikings anyway. Yeah, they've been out there. I
- 1:41:37Speaker 5: would assume they stayed in Europe. There's maybe a little
- 1:41:40Speaker 5: bit of an edge I'll get.
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: I'll take the Vikings.
- 1:41:42Speaker 2: Yeah, So you know what I was thinking about that.
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: I look at them staying out as not giving them
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: an edge, because you know how tired you are living
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: out of your suitcase for two weeks. We went to
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: we'd go to you know, those uh preseason trips, and
- 1:41:58Speaker 2: by the end of like.
- 1:41:59Speaker 7: One, you're like, well, can I just go home? Depends
- 1:42:02Speaker 7: on what department you're in.
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I I like I like the Browns here. Their
- 1:42:07Speaker 2: defenses is is good. The Vikings have had trouble since
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: even with McCarthy in their scoring points. So I like
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: this to be a low scoring game and the Browns pull.
- 1:42:17Speaker 7: It out outright.
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I like it.
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I like it.
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: Fred.
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: Yeah, he's so good.
- 1:42:22Speaker 6: He's given me a pause with these picks, like, what
- 1:42:24Speaker 6: is the shark?
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: What is Fred?
- 1:42:25Speaker 10: Now?
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: CBS one o'clock the one in three Texans are at
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: the one in three.
- 1:42:30Speaker 5: Ravens Houston by one and a half. Oh boy, yeah,
- 1:42:36Speaker 5: no la marvelous lamar.
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: Yeah, who is the quarterback?
- 1:42:41Speaker 10: I do not know?
- 1:42:42Speaker 5: Shoot, I I did not.
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: Know this day.
- 1:42:45Speaker 5: It's not one of the usual Barsini all along.
- 1:42:48Speaker 6: Yeah, shoot, Houston has been terrible offensively. You know, I'm
- 1:42:52Speaker 6: gonna take I'm gonna take Baltimore. I'm gonna take Baltimore
- 1:42:56Speaker 6: and I'll take I'll take that point in a half.
- 1:43:01Speaker 5: Hmmm, do I need to pick?
- 1:43:07Speaker 9: Ah?
- 1:43:10Speaker 5: We still don't know the identity of the Ravens quarterback.
- 1:43:13Speaker 9: Huh maybe Cooper Rush.
- 1:43:15Speaker 15: I just did.
- 1:43:16Speaker 4: That's who it is.
- 1:43:18Speaker 7: That's who it is.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: She knows what she's doing.
- 1:43:21Speaker 5: She tried to hold out the information because I heard.
- 1:43:26Speaker 9: I'm looking for a definitive Cooper Rush is starting headline.
- 1:43:30Speaker 9: I didn't see that. I just saw a depth chart,
- 1:43:32Speaker 9: so I'm assuming it's depth charts.
- 1:43:35Speaker 7: He's looking at depth. Boy, wonder why I'm in last place.
- 1:43:41Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:43:43Speaker 7: I'm going to take Houston just to see if I
- 1:43:44Speaker 7: can pick up a game.
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: You know, I don't know why people talk about John
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: Harball being on the hot seat. I think he's one
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: of the best coaches in the league, and I think
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: that gives them the edge, especially in times like this
- 1:43:57Speaker 2: when you lose your quarterback and you need to rally
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: your troops. He's able to do that. Ravens win box
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: one o'clock, one in three, Dolphins at the one in three.
- 1:44:07Speaker 5: Panthers Miami by one and a half.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: This is this is this is a game no Tyreek Hill.
- 1:44:17Speaker 7: Seeing him.
- 1:44:20Speaker 6: No, that's a tough one to call, you know, I'm
- 1:44:23Speaker 6: gonna I'm just gonna take Miami. I think they got
- 1:44:25Speaker 6: a little bit more talent even without Tyreek.
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: But yeah, I don't feel great about it.
- 1:44:31Speaker 2: A This is tough.
- 1:44:32Speaker 9: Yeah, this is a coin flip one for me. I
- 1:44:34Speaker 9: think I'm gonna go with Miami as well.
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: Though.
- 1:44:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Dolphins too because I'm gonna
- 1:44:40Speaker 5: assume that because they won the game the other night,
- 1:44:43Speaker 5: they're gonna look at this they Okay, let's see if
- 1:44:45Speaker 5: we can string a couple together. I could easily see
- 1:44:48Speaker 5: Carolina winning this game. But I'm going to take the Dolphins.
- 1:44:52Speaker 5: Maybe they're they're pass rush gets after Bryce Young a
- 1:44:55Speaker 5: little bit, Jalen Phillips, Yeah, Chop Robinson and now these guys.
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: Now, Fred would usually say, Okay, Panthers, if they win
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: this game against the Dolphins, then it makes us look
- 1:45:08Speaker 2: our win make a little bit better. But my recency bias,
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:45:13Speaker 5: It really doesn't. I know what you're saying, but I
- 1:45:17Speaker 5: know it just means Miami's even worse.
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: My recency bias against the Panthers, they just look so bad.
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: I'm gonna pick the Dolphins to win this game. Fox
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: At one o'clock, the one and three Raiders are at
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: the three and one Colts.
- 1:45:30Speaker 7: The Clots by six and a half.
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: A lot of respect being given to the Colts.
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: Yea, even by our sheet six and a half. That's
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: actually right.
- 1:45:38Speaker 9: I'll take the only game the three.
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: I'll take Indy and their owner on the sideline, she's
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: listening in I like that someone called her tomb Raider.
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: That was pretty funny.
- 1:45:48Speaker 6: I'll take Indianapolis, and I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:45:53Speaker 9: I'll take Indianapolis. I'll lay the points too.
- 1:45:58Speaker 7: Yeah, me too.
- 1:46:01Speaker 5: The Raiders just haven't really been able to put it together. No,
- 1:46:06Speaker 5: I'll take the Colts to bounce back at home.
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: I will take the points. Colts win, but I'll take
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: those points. And Tom Brady, you hook your wagon to
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: a loser.
- 1:46:15Speaker 7: Oh okay, I don't think there'll be any more kissing
- 1:46:20Speaker 7: after that.
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: I don't know why he's involved with that team. Why
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: is he invite So I have a question.
- 1:46:25Speaker 5: Get from it from an emailer when you were when
- 1:46:27Speaker 5: you were gone, what would your all time Mount Rushmore
- 1:46:32Speaker 5: Patriots defensive line, B defensive line?
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: So four people Seymore.
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: I think about it.
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: I feel like you can talk about it. You think
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: about it. Might Fred will go on with the next
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: thing on CBS, the one and three Giants at the
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: zero to four Saints.
- 1:46:54Speaker 5: So the Saints are favored by one and a half.
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: Hmm, Jackson dar how how much of them on the road?
- 1:47:04Speaker 6: Yeah no, no, Molik neighbors though, uh really kind of
- 1:47:08Speaker 6: torn on this one. Shoot, I'm gonna buy into the
- 1:47:11Speaker 6: stupid Jackson Dart hype.
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Giants.
- 1:47:15Speaker 9: I hate it, but same.
- 1:47:18Speaker 5: So normally I take these kinds of things and I say,
- 1:47:22Speaker 5: New Orleans isn't gonna go winless. But when they do
- 1:47:24Speaker 5: win a game, I'm gonna have to lose that week
- 1:47:26Speaker 5: because I'm not going to pick them. But for the
- 1:47:29Speaker 5: same reason I liked the Giants last week, I don't
- 1:47:31Speaker 5: like them this week because now everybody's talking about them,
- 1:47:34Speaker 5: and everybody's talking about Jackson Dart and the Bardy's probably
- 1:47:37Speaker 5: looking at a spread like this and saying, how can
- 1:47:39Speaker 5: they be underdogs. I'll take the Saints to get off
- 1:47:41Speaker 5: the schneid.
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: Okay, I'll take the Giants one o'clock Fox the one
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: two and one Cowboys after their tie last week against
- 1:47:52Speaker 2: the zero.
- 1:47:53Speaker 5: To four Jets, Dallas by two and a half.
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: It's a weird line, isn't it.
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: Battle teams scored forty I mean Dallas.
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: I would feel like, hey, we scored points. I just
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: I thought the Jets looked too bad. I can't do it.
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Dallas. Lay the points.
- 1:48:10Speaker 9: Cowboys, Cowboys.
- 1:48:13Speaker 5: Yeah, this is uh, this is the week. Later of
- 1:48:16Speaker 5: my giants pick. I'll take the Jets. Dallas somehow thinks they.
- 1:48:21Speaker 7: Won the game the other night.
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: They didn't.
- 1:48:23Speaker 5: They're acting like they did. There were one win team.
- 1:48:26Speaker 5: The Jets are no win team. I'll take the home team.
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: You knock out this one too.
- 1:48:31Speaker 5: I did not did not have enough. I was little, yeah,
- 1:48:36Speaker 5: and I did not take it.
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean the Cowboys have played better than I
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: thought they would after the whole Michaeh. Parsons fiascou not defensively,
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: they haven't. No, I'm gonna take the Jets in this game.
- 1:48:48Speaker 2: They they played horrifically, but it wasn't like they were outplayed.
- 1:48:53Speaker 2: They outplayed themselves.
- 1:48:54Speaker 5: They should have won the game, right right, like thirteen penalties,
- 1:48:57Speaker 5: three turn right, yeah, redigitous overturned touchdown on a bogus pass.
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: So they've got what it takes to win a game.
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: They just gonna get there. They look right, So I
- 1:49:11Speaker 2: think at home, I think they do enough.
- 1:49:13Speaker 5: Plus Dawish it won't come and he's watching these teams lose.
- 1:49:18Speaker 7: We're back now, yep.
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: One o'clock CBS, the two and two Broncos. That's yeah,
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: rare game on the road against the Eagles four and oh.
- 1:49:29Speaker 5: This will be a red zone game for me. Mike,
- 1:49:31Speaker 5: Eagles by three and a half.
- 1:49:34Speaker 6: Yeah, I was trying to do a little research after
- 1:49:36Speaker 6: my poor performance last week. The advanced analytics don't love
- 1:49:39Speaker 6: Philadelphia like AJ Brown.
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: Doesn't love Philadelphia.
- 1:49:42Speaker 7: They could have lost every game.
- 1:49:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm just really impressed with Denver's defense and I
- 1:49:47Speaker 6: and I to be honest, I'm impressed with with Bonix.
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: I mean, I just think he's the right fit with
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: Sean Payton.
- 1:49:52Speaker 6: I'm gonna take Denver on the road to finally, and
- 1:49:54Speaker 6: I feel like this is like the fourth time I've
- 1:49:56Speaker 6: picked the team to be Philly.
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: But I'm gonna take Denver.
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: You said six and a hey, three and a half,
- 1:50:01Speaker 2: three and a hay three.
- 1:50:02Speaker 4: And a half.
- 1:50:03Speaker 9: That doesn't make I agree with much of what just said.
- 1:50:06Speaker 9: I'm gonna take Philly both ways.
- 1:50:08Speaker 7: Yeah, I agree with absolutely everything Mike said.
- 1:50:10Speaker 5: And I am still going to take Philly both ways
- 1:50:13Speaker 5: because I just keep picking against the Eagles and I
- 1:50:15Speaker 5: don't know, I'm not. I feel like I should.
- 1:50:17Speaker 7: Win the game every time I do it, but but
- 1:50:20Speaker 7: you don't.
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: I don't. This is I I could see the Broncos
- 1:50:26Speaker 2: coming in and winning this game. But I'm gonna go
- 1:50:28Speaker 2: with the Eagles. If the spread was a little bit more,
- 1:50:31Speaker 2: I picked the Broncos to cover, but reen and hey,
- 1:50:34Speaker 2: I think they cover.
- 1:50:36Speaker 5: If the game was at home like every now we're talking,
- 1:50:39Speaker 5: I would be taking Denver.
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: Four oh five CBS, oh and four Titans against the
- 1:50:45Speaker 2: two and two Cardinals.
- 1:50:47Speaker 7: Cam Woods just keeping it a buck.
- 1:50:50Speaker 4: We suck.
- 1:50:54Speaker 7: Seven and a half.
- 1:50:56Speaker 12: Ah.
- 1:50:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna take Arizona, and I think I think
- 1:51:01Speaker 6: look out below in Tennessee. I'll lay the points, all
- 1:51:02Speaker 6: seven and a half of them.
- 1:51:05Speaker 9: I'm gonna take Arizona, but they've been really pissing me off.
- 1:51:09Speaker 5: Why what did they do, young lady.
- 1:51:11Speaker 9: I'm not sure that the other night, like just kick
- 1:51:15Speaker 9: punt the ball to the end zone like they I
- 1:51:17Speaker 9: don't know, they could have won that game they didn't.
- 1:51:19Speaker 9: I feel like Arizona, Arizona struggling with it.
- 1:51:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll take Arizona, but I'm gonna take the points
- 1:51:28Speaker 5: based on the team is not that bad as it
- 1:51:32Speaker 5: looked in its last like miserable performance theory.
- 1:51:35Speaker 7: So I'll take Tennessee.
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: Ah, that's a good pick, paul I, Bill Concur CBS
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: four or five. The three and one Buccaneers are at
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: the three and one Seahawks.
- 1:51:44Speaker 5: Another good game, Seattle by three and a half and
- 1:51:48Speaker 5: Baker Bake on the road.
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: Banged up though, right Tampa Bay. They got some they
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: got some injuries. I don't think Bucky Irving's gonna play.
- 1:51:57Speaker 6: Seattle's defense has been awesome. I'm gonna take Seattle at home,
- 1:52:02Speaker 6: and it's hard to It's hard to lay points against
- 1:52:05Speaker 6: Baker because he's gonna bake.
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: But I'm gonna lay the three and a half.
- 1:52:10Speaker 9: I'm gonna take Seattle, but I'm gonna hedge a little.
- 1:52:11Speaker 9: With Tampa Bay covering, I will do as well.
- 1:52:14Speaker 7: I'll take the hook. Seattle to win, but I'll take
- 1:52:17Speaker 7: the hook.
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: I will take Seattle both ways. Four on Fox, the
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: three and one Lions are at the two and two.
- 1:52:25Speaker 5: Bengals destroy by ten and a half.
- 1:52:29Speaker 7: Ten and a half point road favorite.
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: Baby. Yeah, so Detroit to win and Jake Browning was
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: just terrible. Ah, I gotta do it.
- 1:52:39Speaker 6: But Detroit's the kind of team that doesn't hesitate to
- 1:52:42Speaker 6: blow teams.
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: UF do I run it up?
- 1:52:43Speaker 17: I will?
- 1:52:44Speaker 9: I will lay the points Byan's Lenz.
- 1:52:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna do the same thing, and Mike, I
- 1:52:49Speaker 5: think you're right. I think this is one of those
- 1:52:52Speaker 5: that Cincinnati will be covering I think for a while,
- 1:52:55Speaker 5: and then once Detroit gets the spread, they won't let
- 1:53:00Speaker 5: But they're like the O seven Patriots.
- 1:53:01Speaker 7: So I'll take the Lions both ways.
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: Yeah, why not. Let's let's have a beat down in Cincinnati,
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: Lions both ways. Fox four twenty five, two and two
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: Commanders at the three and one Chargers.
- 1:53:17Speaker 7: The lack by two and a half.
- 1:53:20Speaker 6: Jayden Daniels back, Kiden Daniels back, good, good info, Thank you, Paul.
- 1:53:23Speaker 7: That's like Terry McLaurin. No, though, I'm not that's not
- 1:53:27Speaker 7: certain though.
- 1:53:27Speaker 6: Yeah, I was, uh, I was reading a little bit
- 1:53:29Speaker 6: about this Chargers team, you know, losing to the Giants.
- 1:53:31Speaker 6: I mean, they look like they were blowing doors the
- 1:53:33Speaker 6: first couple of weeks. The injuries have piled up for them,
- 1:53:36Speaker 6: but I think they're questioning themselves a little bit. And
- 1:53:40Speaker 6: I'm gonna say, though, yeah, gosh, this is a tough
- 1:53:42Speaker 6: game to pick. You feel me struggling. I'm gonna go
- 1:53:45Speaker 6: with the quarterback, Justin Herbert and I will I'm gonna
- 1:53:49Speaker 6: lay the points This is a tough one coin.
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: Flip to me.
- 1:53:52Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm gonna ride with Justin Chargers. Chargers.
- 1:53:55Speaker 7: Yeah, I agree.
- 1:53:56Speaker 5: It's a you know, pretty tight game. I'm gonna take
- 1:53:58Speaker 5: the lack to bounce back, although I am worried about
- 1:54:00Speaker 5: the offensive line. You miss three starters in the offensive line.
- 1:54:03Speaker 5: That's that's hard.
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: Yeah. I will take the charges as well to win
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: this game. Now, we skip over the Patriots at eight
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: twenty on Sunday night and we go to Monday night,
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: just a single header. It's on ESPN at eight fifteen, ABC,
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: ESPN two and ESPN Deportes. It's the two and two
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: Chiefs at the three and one Jaguars.
- 1:54:28Speaker 5: So can I tell you every week now, I laugh
- 1:54:30Speaker 5: when they say all the different names, and that just
- 1:54:32Speaker 5: looks at me. He's like, why are you laughing?
- 1:54:33Speaker 4: I go.
- 1:54:36Speaker 5: Frank just reads them all off every week, and we
- 1:54:38Speaker 5: do the Pigs at Universo that's coming.
- 1:54:42Speaker 2: Let's step on it to step on it.
- 1:54:46Speaker 7: Kansas City by three and a half.
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: This is kind of a sneaky good game, you know.
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: I'm a little sneak.
- 1:54:52Speaker 5: Jacksonville is better.
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I do too, I do too.
- 1:54:55Speaker 6: Liam Cohens got a little chip on his shoulder, and
- 1:54:57Speaker 6: I see him after the game last week.
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 1:55:00Speaker 6: I'm kind of back on my Kansas City train. I'm
- 1:55:02Speaker 6: gonna take Kansas City on the road, Mahomes, I'll lay
- 1:55:04Speaker 6: the points.
- 1:55:07Speaker 9: I'll take Kansas City, but i'll take Jacksonville to cover.
- 1:55:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna probably regret this. I'm gonna take Jacksonville
- 1:55:16Speaker 5: at home Monday night. I think they got a little
- 1:55:18Speaker 5: something going. I think this is a big game for them,
- 1:55:20Speaker 5: and I think that they knock off the Chiefs. We're
- 1:55:22Speaker 5: still trying to find answers offensively, despite their their good
- 1:55:26Speaker 5: performance last week. I'm not saying one week fixes everything.
- 1:55:30Speaker 2: I like Trevn This game i'll take. But you'd like
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: that te Law Jaguars both ways, Wow, Fred, Actually there's
- 1:55:39Speaker 2: only one one way.
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: There's only one way, you know.
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: All right? Now, we go back to Sunday night, eight
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: twenty on NBC and Universo. It's the two and two
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: Patriots at the four and oh Bills Buffalo by eight
- 1:55:55Speaker 2: and a Half's that's oh, it's gone up.
- 1:55:58Speaker 9: That's a big one.
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: What does it mean it it went down seven and
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: a half. Now it's back up. To eight and a
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: half nor he gets some New England money back in.
- 1:56:05Speaker 7: It was this morning. I don't know if there's any
- 1:56:07Speaker 7: updated information out there, Joe Murray.
- 1:56:09Speaker 2: So it started at nine and a half, I started
- 1:56:12Speaker 2: eight and a half, went down to seven and a half.
- 1:56:14Speaker 5: Now it's back up now. One one said, like, what
- 1:56:17Speaker 5: did the shop individually ten and a half? But that
- 1:56:19Speaker 5: may have been like before the start of the season.
- 1:56:21Speaker 6: Yeah, that's tough because it's not going to match my score. Shoot,
- 1:56:26Speaker 6: you know what, I'm gonna prace. I think Buffalo is
- 1:56:27Speaker 6: going to win the.
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: Game, but eight and a half. I'm going to give
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: the Patriots some love. I'm going to take the points
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: for the Pats.
- 1:56:33Speaker 6: I think they keep it about a touchdown game, but
- 1:56:36Speaker 6: I still feel like it's, you know, low thirties to mid.
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: Twenties kind of a game. So say, you know, thirty
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: one twenty three, twenty four or something like that.
- 1:56:45Speaker 9: Yeah, my heart says we cover, Buffalo wins Patriots cover.
- 1:56:51Speaker 9: What did we say on on Monday?
- 1:56:53Speaker 7: You guys said thirty one twenty four.
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: I think you pat that.
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: Yeah you hadn't written down I know.
- 1:56:58Speaker 2: But I don't have that.
- 1:56:59Speaker 5: I don't have my note is terrible.
- 1:57:01Speaker 9: It was Monday. I'm going to do the same, the
- 1:57:03Speaker 9: same score that Paul seems to remember that I don't.
- 1:57:07Speaker 7: I'm not saying I'm proud of it. I just remember things.
- 1:57:10Speaker 9: You should be You should be proud to have a memory.
- 1:57:12Speaker 9: That's so good.
- 1:57:13Speaker 7: Still, I wrote down the wrong thing. I'm scratching it up.
- 1:57:17Speaker 5: Questions have you soccer?
- 1:57:20Speaker 9: Soccer and car accident?
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: Oh jeez, yeah, what.
- 1:57:23Speaker 2: Did you get? Did you do your pick?
- 1:57:26Speaker 5: The Patriots will go into Buffalo, Yes, and have an
- 1:57:29Speaker 5: opportunity to establish themselves as an up and coming team
- 1:57:33Speaker 5: on the rise. Okay, a playoff contender if you will, they.
- 1:57:37Speaker 1: Will do it.
- 1:57:38Speaker 5: Oh, they won't compete. I'm not into headlines that say
- 1:57:42Speaker 5: the Patriots can win even if they lose, which I
- 1:57:44Speaker 5: saw three different headlines in the clips today. So suggest
- 1:57:48Speaker 5: the Patriots thirty four Buffalo thirty three. Wow with a
- 1:57:53Speaker 5: late scoring drive.
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: Oh lord wow? Okay, I like it.
- 1:57:58Speaker 5: The Patriots have every opportunity to win this game, and
- 1:58:00Speaker 5: Fred about one hundred years ago said, if I think
- 1:58:02Speaker 5: there's a chance, I'm going to pick them. That's what
- 1:58:04Speaker 5: I'm doing tonight, all right, That's what I'm doing.
- 1:58:07Speaker 7: I think there's a chance.
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: I've received a lot of correspondence since last week. Fred,
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: please guarantee a win for the Patriots. We need you
- 1:58:16Speaker 2: to guarantee. I can't do that. I'm sorry. It's not
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: a joke. When I feel it, I give you.
- 1:58:23Speaker 5: The lock when they're playing the Pithers, So.
- 1:58:26Speaker 2: I can't honestly give you the lock this week. But
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: but the Bills are four to ozho, they're not going
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: seventeen and oh somebody's going to beat them. Why not us?
- 1:58:38Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 1:58:39Speaker 7: I'm sorry. Did I step on you? And I ran
- 1:58:41Speaker 7: on your parade a little bit?
- 1:58:42Speaker 2: Sorry? Twenty seven to twenty six Patriots guys. Yeah, it's
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: going to be an instant classic. It's going to be
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: a great game, folks. But I'd faded if you're doing
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: it for real money. We're doing this for entertainment purposes.
- 1:58:57Speaker 2: Put your money elsewhere. You don't want to have that
- 1:58:59Speaker 2: type of business watching this game. Just watch it as
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: a fan, not as a gambler. I need someone to
- 1:59:04Speaker 2: pay this game.
- 1:59:05Speaker 9: I need someone to take the video of the miracle
- 1:59:08Speaker 9: locker room speech and just like impose your head on.
- 1:59:10Speaker 6: Her Brooks right right, okay, real quick, my so my
- 1:59:15Speaker 6: defensive line, and I don't know what the rules are
- 1:59:17Speaker 6: because are we talking three minut format fronts.
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: I'm just going to say I want to do Rushmore.
- 1:59:21Speaker 2: I already forgot it for all right.
- 1:59:22Speaker 6: I'm going to say Willie McGuinness, Richard Seymour, Julius Adams,
- 1:59:26Speaker 6: and Vince Wilfork.
- 1:59:28Speaker 5: So I got two of them. Okay, so that question
- 1:59:30Speaker 5: was directed to you. I said Seymour and will Fork,
- 1:59:33Speaker 5: and then I said, he'll probably come with someone obscure
- 1:59:35Speaker 5: that I wouldn't necessarily like.
- 1:59:37Speaker 2: I was looking at the Guinness as an outside linebacker,
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: but he has played, he played.
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: The elephant rule.
- 1:59:45Speaker 6: I kept feeling, no, I'm missing somebody, like, you know,
- 1:59:48Speaker 6: like we'll force Seymour, Jim.
- 1:59:49Speaker 5: Lee Hunt Jim, but if you want to count on
- 1:59:54Speaker 5: an outside I know, but like Tip specifically told me
- 1:59:57Speaker 5: how much he loved standing up and playing outside line
- 2:00:00Speaker 5: or its like McGinnis Titan watching just because I mean,
- 2:00:02Speaker 5: you know short, I mean I thought Julie sadad was
- 2:00:04Speaker 5: this guy played like sixteen years for the team.
- 2:00:06Speaker 6: Yeah, he was great, absolute cornerstone to the front foundation.
- 2:00:11Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, I thought you would say, like Andre Cotter.
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: All right, you know you don't know me like that.
- 2:00:16Speaker 2: All right. That's it for this edition of Patriot's Unfiltered.
