- 0:01The sun is shining, not a cloud in the sky. We wouldn't know
- 0:06because we're so happy inside. Some people boot on some skis, but we
- 0:14would rather sit on down and talk some movies. We're the Avid Indoorsmen.
- 0:20Come listen to our show. We're the Avid Indoorsmen at home on the go
- 0:26where the Avid indoors Man. We hope you love it, so come on
- 0:32in and stay. We'll do our best to make you smile with the indors
- 0:38Man. What is happening? I'm robl on Quist head, I'm Boot and
- 0:44we are the Avid Indoorsman. Hello everyone, Hello, Hello, how are
- 0:49you sir? It's been a while. I know it has. When's the
- 0:52last time we talked, ma'am? It feels like forever ago. It does
- 0:56feel like forever. I mean I chatted with you on the telephone talking about
- 1:00your trip for the clips, which was awesome. I had so much fun.
- 1:07It was a lot of driving, but it was so worth it.
- 1:11I love that's super cool. I was jealous because it was so cloudy here.
- 1:15Yeah, it didn't even see it for a second. You should remind
- 1:19me. I can put it up on the Patreon and I should send it
- 1:22to you too. But I made a time lapse of the area around me
- 1:27and stuff, so it's got fun. I don't know it was neat,
- 1:32but yeah, the eclipse was really cool. If anyone ever gets a chance,
- 1:36go check it out in the totality because it's really it's a moving experience.
- 1:40It's really cool. It's strange. I really built it up for my
- 1:44kids and was like, it's gonna be so awesome, And then it was
- 1:48a cloudy day and I was like, well, don't worry, It'll come
- 1:52back in the US when you're twenty nine and twenty seven respectively. Who Aska
- 2:00though before that? And you know other places I haven't looked in the Do
- 2:06they do? I was wondering, and if they don't have this, we
- 2:08should get on it. Yes, I would imagine that most of them probably
- 2:14go through the ocean most of the Do they have like a cruise ship eclipse
- 2:23cruises? That's brilliant. I'm cutting this out. We need to get if
- 2:28we did a home free eclipse cruise, wouldn't that be what I'm saying?
- 2:31That would be awesome. Can we get Luke on this? I feel like
- 2:35Luke could actually do this. I feel like this could actually be a thing.
- 2:38It probably is, right, I don't know that Google search. We
- 2:45could look at it. I mean, we don't have to take that time
- 2:46now, but I think this is a good idea. Oh, the eclipse
- 2:52is an actual cruise ship for celebrity to I'm remembering, Oh sure, so
- 2:55let's just get this is going to take some time. That's going to be
- 2:59a Google the one we should go take there though, Yes, that's the
- 3:01one. We should all be that the eclipse cruise. Yes, and we
- 3:06could just sing total Eclipse of the Heart over and over, over and over
- 3:09and over. I saw that Peter Hollins went and did that. Oh really,
- 3:14that's so fun? Did it like during the eclipse? Got it right?
- 3:16I mean yeah, yeah, yeah. He's way on top of it,
- 3:23so that would take away too much planning. He's really good at that
- 3:27part. Like he's good at all of it obviously, but he's so good
- 3:30at the planning part yep, which is where I always fail. But I
- 3:36did plan on asking you what's the last movie you saw? Oh? Fun,
- 3:39Now I'm wondering if you saw this. I think you were supposed to.
- 3:44And I saw it this very day. I went while the kids are
- 3:49at school, today I went and saw Civil War. That's what I was
- 3:53going to talk about. I thought you would, so I was like,
- 3:57what did you get? Asked you? How have you been? I'm sorry.
- 4:00I feel like I thank you for asking. I'm good. I'm just
- 4:04getting back to normal. I got very just very tired from a very early
- 4:09flight yesterday that just screwed up my whole schedule. I love it, okay,
- 4:12but the tour was great and things are good. But today decided to
- 4:15go to the theater. I saw Civil War, the new film by Alex
- 4:18Garlands, who we love from Ex Machina. Yes, and also Annihilation,
- 4:26which was real creepy. I never watched that yet like it, but I
- 4:30didn't like it as much as Ex Machina, but it was still pretty crazy.
- 4:33Yeah, what could be as Ex Machina? Right? But Civil War
- 4:39super intense. I thought it would be more about the Civil War, and
- 4:42it's really more about these people who they're part of the press. Yeah,
- 4:46and it's them taking these photos and documenting this and it's really intense. We
- 4:55got Kirsten Dunst in there, she's doing a great job. We got the
- 4:59woman who played Priscilla in the New Priscilla movie, which I want to see
- 5:03now. Yeah, Kelli Spainy or something. I'm not sure how you say
- 5:09your last name. Sure it's got the old AE combo together, which always
- 5:14makes me nervous. But yeah, and just you know, Nick Offerman is
- 5:19the president and it's just, uh, it's crazy. It's I really enjoyed
- 5:24it. It's very intense. If you're looking to see like why are they
- 5:28in the civil War, you're going to be disappointed because they leave it pretty
- 5:31open. But it's still I even though it's not what I was expecting,
- 5:36I still dug it quite a bit. Yeah, how about you. That's
- 5:41a funny, very similar reaction from me and I said the same thing.
- 5:46Like right out of the theater, I was like, well that wasn't about
- 5:48what I thought it was going to be about. But yeah, same same
- 5:53thing. I thought it was really compelling though it's almost like like almost famous
- 5:59at War or something, you know what I mean, Like it's it's really
- 6:01about these people and specifically the press and just life in this weird world.
- 6:09To compelling universe and really well acted. I agree with with all those things.
- 6:14Did you recognize that the like Kirsten Dunt's partner the guy who was driving
- 6:20most of the time. It was kind of a crazy man. Did you
- 6:24really did you ever watch Narcos? Yep? Did you know that he was
- 6:28the Pablo Escobar guy? Because it took me a lot to realize. Yeah,
- 6:31I mean he was definitely you know, had to put on more weight
- 6:34for that one. Yeah. I don't think I would have known that.
- 6:39Actually, I was like, oh my god, I didn't look him up.
- 6:42It was the whole time my brain was just like, what is this
- 6:45guy from? Why do I know him? Yeah? Very strong? How
- 6:47that you say that? It absolutely is and he's really good. He was
- 6:51good. Yeah, but uh yeah, I agree with the basically everything he
- 6:56said. I think it's super intense. Uh there we went with the post
- 7:00and there's a couple of jump scares in there if you're if you're not ready
- 7:03for them, so gird your loins for that. And yeah, overall,
- 7:09I thought it was a really enjoyable experience. It's an intense movie, but
- 7:13it's it's really well done and it was it was pretty fun and it also
- 7:15was very snappy. I felt like I was I was like, oh okay,
- 7:20cool, Like I feel like that doesn't happen much anymore unless it's like
- 7:25a comedy or a brom com or something. You know. It was like
- 7:28in two hours yeah, which, yeah, it and they told the story
- 7:31they wanted to tell, and they got in, they got out, they
- 7:33got on with their day. I really liked it. I thought it was
- 7:35pretty good. Yeah, so not mad at all, I agree. Not
- 7:41as good as X Machino by any means. Yeah, but still solid,
- 7:45so solid and really interesting and some really cool like camera shots and stuff in
- 7:49there. Yes, and how they would switch from the photo back. Yes.
- 7:54I really liked that. That part of it was really really cool.
- 7:57So that was cool. I'm with you on that. Nice. Yeah,
- 8:00well we doubled up on that. How about streaming? Have you been streaming
- 8:03anything? I'm interested to see if you've seen this. I don't think you
- 8:07were keeping up with this. Invincible Season two is finally completely out. Ah.
- 8:11You know, I watched like a part of the first episode and then
- 8:16I had to go run and do something else, so I'm behind. I
- 8:18need to catch up. Did you watch all of it? I watch all
- 8:20of it? So they had they had had like three or four episodes for
- 8:26a while, okay, and I'm not sure what took them so long to
- 8:31release the rest of the season, but it is. It's it's finally all
- 8:33out cool. Such a great show. I just wish they could get things
- 8:39figured out, either financially or creatively to keep the show moving along. It
- 8:46also kind of felt like it just like stopped without a conclusion, and it
- 8:50didn't feel like the end of the season like it. I was like,
- 8:54oh, I like googled to like see if there were more episodes the other
- 8:58batch. What's that? And that's not the answer. I think it's just
- 9:03you know, getting ready for the next season. Sure it would be my
- 9:05guess, but yeah, I was very surprised that that was the last episode
- 9:11of the second season. Interesting but that being said, so much fun.
- 9:15Love the characters, the actors like Steven Yune and Sandra Oh yeah, Jason
- 9:20on Zukas and JK. Simmons and Seth Rogan and I mean it's just nuts.
- 9:26It's nuts, and I just think it's really impressive what they're doing with
- 9:31the show, and that style of animation is so cool. Yeah. I
- 9:35don't know if you've seen they have the new X Men, it's like X
- 9:37Men ninety seven or something. Catch up on that too. But I haven't.
- 9:41It's kind of feels like a similar kind of vibe old school animation wise.
- 9:46Yeah, and people have really been loving that, so that would probably
- 9:50be my next thing. I'm going to watch that for sure. But Invincible
- 9:54season two on Prime check it out. What have you been streaming? So
- 9:58this isn't streaming, but I'm hoping people will go with me on this.
- 10:01So we did last night. We did one of those AMC Scene Unseen or
- 10:07whatever. It was it Seen Unseen or was it the screen one? It
- 10:11was the Scene one and it was a PG thirteen movie. It was around
- 10:16two hours, and so we were like, oh my god, is this
- 10:20going to be fall guy. It turns out we have seen some pretty fun
- 10:24movies at this Some of them have to be stinkers, and that's part of
- 10:28the fun. This wasn't really a stinker, but it one hundred percent was
- 10:33not a movie I ever would have watched. We ended up watching Spy Family
- 10:37Code White, which was a Japanese subtitled film, and Rob You should see.
- 10:43The theater was pretty full. It was a smaller theater, but it
- 10:48was pretty full. The line of people that exited after the movie started was
- 10:56so funny. I was cracking out. It was a pretty good time.
- 11:01I had fun, but it was a letdown because I had kind of talked
- 11:03myself into maybe it'll be fal guy, maybe it'll be which is so funny.
- 11:09But yeah, this is a story about a dad and a mom who
- 11:13are he's a spy, she's an assassin. They don't know that about each
- 11:18other, but they do know. The marriage is contrived in some way,
- 11:22which was very confusing. I didn't understand that the child she can read thoughts,
- 11:31so she knows all of this. And they have a dog who can
- 11:35see the future for some reason, and so she can read his thoughts and
- 11:41see the future sometimes. It was a wild ride. It was pretty fun
- 11:46and honestly, that is the spirit of those is you just see some weird
- 11:50stuff. I think. So it was kind of funny and we had a
- 11:54nice time, but yeah, it wasn't what I hoped for. Yes,
- 11:58yes, for sure. Should we do a few plug a Rooney's Pal,
- 12:01Yes, let's do it. Okay, great. You can find us on
- 12:05the Twitter machine at Avid Endorsement with a Z, or you can go to

- 12:48to do an extended version of every episode we put out. We call it
- 12:50our podcast and Chill version, and that's where we'll do a top five draft
- 12:54that pertains to the movie we're talking about. And Bukes came up with a
- 12:58good one. We decided to do our top five Prophecy movies. Yeah,
- 13:03and I think it's going to be a fun draft. I'm excited. Turns
- 13:07out I like some prophecy movies. There are some good ones. There's some
- 13:09bangers. The kids are always saying that that is true. While as the
- 13:16kids say, this next guy has some serious risks. Because we're here to
- 13:20talk about Dune two today, which I'm so excited for. And we had
- 13:24to get a very handsome young man to join us today. He's way closer
- 13:28to being a kid than we are, that's for darn sure. But you
- 13:33know, you know him, you love him. He's half of hound Fox
- 13:35Music. Let's give it up for Riley Zember. What's up, Riley?
- 13:41Hello you beautiful humans. Oh so good to see you byd No. I
- 13:46amuse you guys. You're so handsome. How old are you? Oh?
- 13:50Thanks? I was going to say your beard is looking tasty, my friend,
- 13:54he always looks tasty, obviously I'm talking to it's looking lovely. We're
- 13:58just a few bearded gentlemen here today, are Yeah. I noticed the other
- 14:05day I have a couple of white hairs in my beard. Yeah, like
- 14:09a real man. I got the grays coming in here. It's kens and
- 14:13I both we appreciate. She has these like really cool little like rogues rogue
- 14:18from the X Men. Whispyes, yeah, I've got I've got some weird
- 14:22little grays coming in the beard too. It's funny. In the chest hair,
- 14:28then we can talk. The problem is you have to have chest hair
- 14:31first. My body hair is actually stark white. It has been for quite
- 14:37some time. I'm surprised you don't know that. I'm just kidding. If
- 14:41that were the case, you would actually probably know that. Yeah, I
- 14:46am seldomly wearing a shirt a handsome get this fabric off my skin? With
- 14:54a body like this? How could you deny? But you know what I
- 14:56do love that is hound Fox Music. We want to encourage you guys to
- 15:01go to hound Fox music dot com, visit them on Patreon, go to
- 15:05their YouTube page. Check it all out. Cha doing fun stuff. We
- 15:11did recently revamp our Patreon a bit, which was nice. Well, we
- 15:15did read some of our rewards. Where can be better at actually keeping up
- 15:18with them because we classically kind of suck at that? Heard that got?
- 15:22Yeah, so hang out. We got. We're writing some originals right now
- 15:26and planning for lots of fun future projects and stuff. So join us,
- 15:31will you do it? Check it out for the best. I agree with
- 15:37that now, But we are here today to talk about Dune Part two.
- 15:45Yes, and I think I think we should just get right into what do
- 15:50you guys think? You guys into it? Okay, well, Rob,
- 15:54can you get started with just a rough synop sea I would love to Paula
- 15:58trades Uni. It's with Johnny and the Fremen while seeking revenge against the conspirators
- 16:04who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and
- 16:08the fate of the universe, he must prevent a terrible future only he can
- 16:15foresee. That's a great rate. Dang, that was Was it an artistic
- 16:19choice to pause before Johnny? Or did you have a moment of panic in
- 16:23the movie. I felt like he was saying Johnny, and I was like,
- 16:29is it Johnny or is it Johnny? But its child Johnny? Cool?
- 16:33C h A n I I think that is what I have and brain
- 16:38did gony Johnny? You were thinking of kid? No, I wasn't Johnny.
- 16:47I've never seen any of the Karate Kids. Oh well, you just
- 16:51missed out on a perfect imitation from that movie. So sorry that way,
- 16:56you've never seen any of them. I know, I know, it's weird.
- 17:00It is weird. I missed I missed him, dude. I heard
- 17:03the whole you know Crane thing. I'm like, okay, cool, I
- 17:06know what happens. I got it. I know the whole plot. That's
- 17:08it. I know that's wax on wax Off Crane. I got all the
- 17:14pop culture references that he's a kid, he does karate, We got it.
- 17:18That's it. Yep. All right, okay, well that's fun.
- 17:26I'm obviously on top of it. Let's go to Rotten Tomatos and hear what
- 17:27they have to say. Dune Part two critics have it coming in at a
- 17:33rock solid ninety three percent. Yah, that's really good. It's hot.
- 17:37It's so good. That's really good for a sci fi movie of this like
- 17:41this style, you know what I mean. Like, that's really good.
- 17:44That's really good, very good. Audience members even up a few clicks.
- 17:48They have it at ninety five percent. I believe it. Yep, yep,
- 17:52it's wild. Agreed, wild, agreed with them. Let's go in
- 17:55and let's hear what we think about it. It's time for our hot takes.
- 17:59Hot take, that's a hot take. That's a hot take out that's
- 18:10the spice Fields of a Racus. Yeah. Yeah, good job, everybody,
- 18:15good job. I will go first on this one. I like this
- 18:18movie a ton. I feel like it takes up the mantle from Dune Part
- 18:23one, which I also super liked. I feel like some folks had problems
- 18:29they didn't know it was a part one and a part two situation, which
- 18:32I understand. Huddy, Sorry, I feel like I should have warned you.
- 18:37But I think they paid off these two movies remarkably well in this.
- 18:42I think our director mister Villeneuve just has a knack for making like movies that
- 18:52are grandiose in scale but also very like character driven and very close and intimate
- 18:57at the same time, which I think is that's a real talent. I
- 19:00don't know, he does things in ways I just don't think a lot of
- 19:03other people would. So I love that this has a lot of the same
- 19:07qualities as the first one. The music design and the sound design are amazing
- 19:11in it. The shots are like incredible in it, with the big desert
- 19:17shots and all that stuff. There's a ton of action going on. I
- 19:21mean, they're riding sandworms, all these things. It's incredible. And they
- 19:25take a story that is so dense and really convoluted and and a lot of
- 19:32it happens inside his own brain, and they really bring it forward in a
- 19:34great way. I think they do a masterful job. And I just really
- 19:40really enjoyed this movie. I've seen it a couple times now, it's fantastic.
- 19:44I love it, and I think it's a triumph. Hot take buddy,
- 19:48and you know, actually I do a hot take. Here's my hottest
- 19:52take. This is still not my favorite Deni movie that he's ever made.
- 19:59The dude's homography is ridiculous, like Buckers, like he's what. I was
- 20:04just looking that up because I was like, how many freakin' movies like he
- 20:07has like eight seven with seven rock rock solid movies in a row, Like,
- 20:15yeah, I haven't seen Enemy, but I've seen all the other ones.
- 20:18And oh no, I haven't seen I haven't seen either of the Blade
- 20:22Runners, so I didn't see which twenty forty nine is a spectacle that one
- 20:29either. The dude just knows how to make a sci fi movie. Yeah,
- 20:33like real accessible, We're talking to you first, then you first.
- 20:38My favorite Dani movie, Yeah, just off. I really I really was
- 20:47kind of like uncomfortably blown away by Arrival, like it really sent me like
- 20:53I didn't know what to expect. I was just like, oh, it's
- 20:56an alien movie, and I think I was crying by the like really emotionally
- 21:02struck because it's such a again, it's such a like such a massive concept
- 21:07that you are like what like in taking from such a focused lens, but
- 21:14you still get all this like again so character driven, so nuanced and like
- 21:19so intense. It's fantastic. I actually haven't seen like Prisoners, and I'm
- 21:23a Hugh Jackman, like really really want to watch that one. But I
- 21:30feel like a rival is like just edges out the the Dune and Blade Runner
- 21:36and stuff. I didn't see Sacario either, but like, I know how
- 21:37good all of the car I know he's just he's he's a machine. So
- 21:42I gotta say it's probably a rival, but just barely, just barely into
- 21:48my hot take very well, because I think this is my favorite film.
- 21:55There we go. I think this film is a masterpiece. I effect shocked
- 22:02when I because I liked Dune okay, but I loved Due part two.
- 22:10It's currently number seventeen on the top two fifty, so a lot of people
- 22:14are enjoying it already already, And I was really glad that before I went
- 22:21and saw Dune to earlier in the day, I had watched the first one,
- 22:23and so I felt like that really helped me get in the right headspace
- 22:27and just being caught up, I was able to catch some of the references
- 22:30to the first one a little better. Oh it's so dense. There's so
- 22:33much, like, so much ology and stuff. Yeah, but I think
- 22:37this movie is going to be up for and win many Academy Awards. Ville
- 22:42Neuve is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors, and I'm going to watch
- 22:48his whole filmography for sure. But like you said, the cinematography in this
- 22:55is breathtaking. Some gorgeous shots and some amazing visual effects. The score was
- 23:00so effective. There were several times where I was so pumped up because of
- 23:06the music, Like it was awesome. I'm amazed by Timothy Shallomey. He
- 23:14can really do it all. He is so versatile. I had watched Dune
- 23:18Part two and then the next thing I had watched with my family was Wonka,
- 23:23and I was shocked. It's incredibly, really wild. He can do
- 23:29everything, and everyone in this cast is awesome. The Tucci section is going
- 23:37to take some time. Oh, it's it's stacked. It's so stacked.
- 23:40It was fun to see them introduce some new characters that were played by huge
- 23:44actors. And Yeah, like Bukes had alluded to, when I saw the
- 23:49first one, I was bummed out because it was clearly just a setup movie
- 23:53f a sequel. Yeah, sure, and I didn't realize that going into
- 23:56it. But this one, even though there are things that are open ended,
- 24:03it felt more complete and if it did end here, I wouldn't be
- 24:08as upset as I would have been had they stopped after the first one.
- 24:12Sure that being said, very stoked for a Dune three, like I'm all
- 24:18in, but're going to do it because he said his favorite is the the
- 24:22next book is like the one he wants to make, which is great and
- 24:26I'm all for it, but wild. After I left the theater, I
- 24:30was like, that felt more complete to me, like I'm into it,
- 24:34But yeah I was. I'm super into this movie, way more than I
- 24:38even expected to be. That'st buddy, love that all right, Riley?
- 24:45What you got baby? I mean, my take's not that hot. This
- 24:48movie was absolutely incredible. Yes, I had probably not like the most unique
- 24:57experience in that we didn't watch the first ZOM when it came out, like
- 25:00it was right I think around we were like busy finishing, like I think
- 25:04it was right before Cypris was born. We were like cranking out as much
- 25:08Christmas content just like that time of year is hard. We didn't see it.
- 25:11We continued to not see it despite everybody telling us that we needed to,
- 25:15and I knew I would love it, right, I knew that I
- 25:18would love it, and I'd seen tik talks about it. It just was
- 25:22like, Okay, we got to watch this, but didn't get around to
- 25:23it until Dune two is coming out, and like the early reviews were like,
- 25:27if there's a movie that you need to see in theaters, it's this
- 25:32movie. You need to see this on the big screen. Sounds like,
- 25:34okay, we got to watch the first one. Boohoo, we gotta watch
- 25:37the first one. So Kens and I watched that one, and we're both
- 25:44absolutely floored by it, just with how amazing it was and it lived.
- 25:49It surpassed the hype that I had that had built up inside me for it,
- 25:53you know what I mean. It's like absolutely my kind of movie.
- 25:56I love the space epics. I love these big, dense worlds of that
- 26:03are so fleshed out, but you're getting really like a slice of it,
- 26:06you know what I mean, So like you can tell the history is so
- 26:10deeply thought out. So anyways, unfortunately Ken's didn't get to come see the
- 26:15second one in the theater because it's too long of a movie still to be
- 26:18for her to be away, So caught it with my brother in law.
- 26:22But the same as you, Rob, Like I watched the first one just
- 26:23before, like maybe five days before going, so it was really fresh.
- 26:29All the terms and all the like the planet names and all this crazy crap
- 26:33that's getting thrown at you constantly, like it was all pretty fresh. So
- 26:37it just it absolutely rocked my world. I think my mouth was literally a
- 26:41gape multiple times, like embarrassingly. So just like absolutely just being waterboarded with
- 26:48amazing sci fi epic. You guys have are You've said everything like Denise has
- 26:56such a such a vision you can see, and obvious benefits from the like
- 27:02these being novels, right, so there's all this source material to build off
- 27:07of. But that's not always a for sure win because I feel like the
- 27:11eighties one, I think had its nostalgia and stuff, but it was like,
- 27:14you know, pretty campy and goofy. Anyone who loves it, that's
- 27:18more power to you. But I feel like that one didn't succeed as much
- 27:21certainly as these ones. And then there was like the early two thousands,
- 27:25like mini series one two that like follows the Messiah Book. I think that
- 27:29had I forgot that there it had I forget his name in it, but
- 27:33like a big name actor playing somebody in it too. Then these come out
- 27:37and they abs he he figured out, how do I capture this weird,
- 27:44weird world this guy wrote about, and how do I make it accessible for
- 27:48people? And like the first one, Dune one had a much like bigger
- 27:53scope. I feel like it was like God, it was all very very
- 27:57big and like space more space, more around the different planets and stuff.
- 28:03And then it starts to it kind of hones in on Aracus, and this
- 28:06one you get such an intimate view of Aracus through a bunch of different characters'
- 28:14experiences, you know what I mean. Like Paul's obviously our primary character.
- 28:18But you see this very like beautiful world that is so massive, and like
- 28:25that's where the cinematography in the setting comes into play, like these massive desert
- 28:29shots, these ungodly huge worm creatures and these this like really uh vibrant society
- 28:38of like the Fremen and the different factions and their beliefs and prophecies and stuff.
- 28:44You know, like so much but like it just it feels so tangible
- 28:48and real, you know what I mean, Like it doesn't. It didn't
- 28:52really feel unbelievable. It was just this like beautifully captured and shot story just
- 29:00like crazy to me. And I had like no before doing one, no
- 29:04previous knowledge of like the doing universe other than, like I said, little
- 29:07clips and stuff. Oh okay, like I knew about giant sandworms, you
- 29:11know, like that's that's about it. Obviously, all those little clips and
- 29:15stuff sort of primed me for it. But just he's he's such an incredible
- 29:18director. The acting, like you guys said, was off the absolute charts.
- 29:23How do you get such a stacked cast and everybody bringing their like s
- 29:30tier game, like forget It's like it was off the charts. Everybody crushed
- 29:33it. Timothy obviously being just like carrying so much weight of this role on
- 29:38his of the story of Paul on his back, and just continuing to just
- 29:45hammer home that he's like going to become one of the greatest actors of his
- 29:49generator and he is already, but he's going to continue to be unstoppable as
- 29:53an actor. And then everybody else, like you said, Rob our Tucci
- 29:56list is overflow a thing for sure. The action, the effects, like
- 30:02the VFX were so incredible and like crazy, like crazy and like not.
- 30:07It wasn't like a Marvel movie where like, yeah, this is all it's
- 30:11like CG. You know, you know it's CG like and you accept it
- 30:14and you love it despite that it's not a problem some more than others obviously,
- 30:18but this didn't even feel like there's It was so real all that,
- 30:22like the ships and like, oh my god, the effects on on Gaety
- 30:26Prime when they the Hearken and like world of black and white of like their
- 30:30sons so cool. And then you shift, you shift indoors though, and
- 30:34it's not like that, so it's like the way that they're son, like
- 30:37what a cool idea, What a cool way to represent this, like really
- 30:42brutalist society of like the Hearken in so cool. The action sequences were ridiculous
- 30:48though, there was like so much humor too, like how did it have
- 30:52everything? It was like it's like perfect. I can't I literally can't think
- 30:56of a drawback other than other than I'm way too excited for the third one
- 31:03and it feels rude to not immediately have it at our fingertips to watch,
- 31:08you know what I mean, like it's going to be so good, and
- 31:11I think that, like what you were saying about the first one felt so
- 31:14incomplete and such a setup. It's like, isn't aren't these two movies based
- 31:19off of the first book? And then Doing Messiah is the next book that
- 31:25he's going to continue to adapt to finish the story, right, Yeah,
- 31:27so like you get such Messiah is wild? Yeah, and I'm sorry,
- 31:33so is that going to be like a part three and part four kind of
- 31:36a thing. Do we think they're going to split that up into two?
- 31:38It's been so long as I've read it, I don't know. I think
- 31:41you could tell that probably in one I just saw. I just saw a
- 31:45clip when I was just looking at stuff and a guy was like holding up.
- 31:48He was like, I'm so excited to read Doing Messiah actually now was
- 31:51one of my friends on Facebook, and he goes, I was so surprisingly
- 31:53short, like he holds it up. And the book itself is not very
- 31:56thick, So I think that the story itself is more condensed, a shorter
- 32:00story to tell, so I would appreciate it. They had to have part
- 32:04one and two was they had to build this expansive universe, right, Yeah,
- 32:08so much, so crazy. And that was the last thing that I
- 32:12wanted to say, was about Dennie and about his like storytelling is like kind
- 32:15of throughout a lot of his movies too, is like he really trusts that
- 32:22we the viewers are going to like buckle up and just be along for the
- 32:30ride. Because in the first one, it doesn't even there's no time to
- 32:34breathe. It's just like house names like a Tradees and Harkening and if you
- 32:37have no familiarity, it's just names and planets and Benegeserit and lusan al gayib
- 32:43and like all these terms and worlds and concepts. Like I had no freaking
- 32:49clue what was going on with the mentats at all in the first one.
- 32:52Was what and then I had to look it up afterwards to sort of like
- 32:55refresh. And it's like human computers because ten thousand years ago there was this
- 33:00Ai uprising that they defeated. All it is such a dense history that like
- 33:05informs everything that's happening presently. And Deny just like he just goes for it,
- 33:10just absolutely full throttle from the get go. No holding your hand,
- 33:15no like unnecessary exposition of stuff. He's it's just going. The story is
- 33:21unfolding and you better pay attention. But I think it for the better betterment
- 33:25of the enjoyment, like enjoying the movie, you know what I mean,
- 33:28Like you can watch it a couple of times and maybe get more stuff than
- 33:31you like you miss the first time around, and it's like really fun to
- 33:35go and like research what some of the stuff means and the history behind everything.
- 33:38It was just a treat, just such a wonderful time with these movies,
- 33:43and I am very excited about it. Hot so hot tag love it.
- 33:51Well, let's start talking about some of these acting performance. Let's name
- 33:52our favorite. It's time to name the the dude. I'm the dude,
- 34:00So that's what you call me, you know that? Or his dudeness or
- 34:05duder or you know, el dud reno. If you're not into the whole
- 34:08brevity thing, Riley, why don't you go first? Who's your dud I
- 34:13mean, is it really? I talked a lot a second ago. I
- 34:17don't need to talk very much here. Timothy Shallomey is He's ridiculous. He's
- 34:22so talented for such like a such like a sweet faced young looking guy.
- 34:30He's just got so much weight and presence with how he acts, you know
- 34:34what I mean, whether it's Paula Trates or Willy Wonka, Like he just
- 34:40fully encompasses the role, you know what I mean, Like he he knows
- 34:45how to like tackle nuance and subtlety, and like I feel like slight tangent
- 34:52with Wonka, like he somehow captures this like earlier version, like of the
- 34:59Gene wild version, you know what I mean. Like, yeah, he's
- 35:01not quite as like twisted and like maybe sadistic as as Gene Wilder's older seasoned
- 35:07Wonka is, but you see this light of that, and I feel like
- 35:10he meant to do that. He meant to try and capture that and with
- 35:14with paul just like the especially the arc from part one through the end of
- 35:21part two, he changes so much and he grows, and he's like has
- 35:25such a such a weight to all these like choices he has to make and
- 35:30like not wanting to go to that like the southern part of the planet because
- 35:34like it's going to bring the the death and the room. It's like there's
- 35:37so much heaviness to his character, but then like a lightness like the relationship
- 35:40with Channi is so so beautiful and kind of heartbreaking, and you know by
- 35:47the ending and stuff like he just he just absolutely ate this roll up crushed
- 35:54it and I can't again cannot wait to see where the character goes in the
- 36:00future. It's I mean, it's hands down for me that he is the
- 36:06MVP of this through and through. Absolutely. Yeah, I'm I'm all in
- 36:09on Shallow May. He's shall amazing. Hello, Timothy, Timothy Sweet Tea,
- 36:16Shallow May. The funniest interview. This guy goes, do you get
- 36:22mad when people call you sweet Tea? And he's like, no, I
- 36:23love it, and zendaeas next to him, She's like, you guys talking
- 36:27about like what. He goes, Yeah, it's my Chinese sweet because it's
- 36:30my Chinese nickname. So he like literally speaks Mandarin, like I think he
- 36:35lived in China for a time or so, of course he does. So
- 36:37he's got sweet Tea is his nickname. And I was cracking up about that.
- 36:42I'm like, Timothy, sweet Tea, Shallow May. Again, I
- 36:45like that, but yeah, I pretty much have all the same takes.
- 36:50I'm just so impressed that he is. I think he's tall, but He's
- 36:53just kind of a frail looking, kind of slim guy, but he can
- 36:59pull off these tense fight scenes and when like even when he gets like mad,
- 37:04and he's supposed to be like menacing, like I believe it, and
- 37:08looking at him, I wouldn't assume he's a great representation for fellas like me,
- 37:14you know what I mean? The petite lad is well By. Why
- 37:20didn't you include Robin I what happened? What happened? But yeah, it's
- 37:30obviously Timothy Shalman. He's in Croab. Yes, agreed, I did end
- 37:37up picking him. I almost picked someone else for this, but I all
- 37:42the things you guys said, I thought he did a great job. I
- 37:44also thought they had interesting direction for him in the movie. He's a little
- 37:49bit I guess I should say that the book he is. Yeah, in
- 37:53the book he's less self assured about everything, Like he's much more hesitant than
- 37:59he is in the movie. But I also think that makes sense for how
- 38:04they did it, And they kind of honestly gave a little bit of his
- 38:07hesitation to Zendaiya, And so she's the one that's like kind of questioning him
- 38:14and everything, which which works. I like Jenny having that, I thought
- 38:17that was neat. But yeah, everything you guys said, I think he
- 38:22You wouldn't expect him to be so good at every part of this, but
- 38:23he really is, and he's charming and great, and I mean, I
- 38:28just thought he did awesome again with the part that is so a lot of
- 38:32it is happening in his brain, so it's you know, that could be
- 38:36hard to show. I feel like, so yeah, clean sweep ahead to
- 38:42the what did you have for this one? Riley? I mean, like
- 38:47we were saying, the acting across the board is incredible, and it's like
- 38:52it's one of those where it's like you could call it an ensemble cast because
- 38:57there's not like all of this all of the secondary characters have like really fleshed
- 39:04out roles, like everybody. Like there's a couple characters who are much more
- 39:07subtle in this one who don't have as much like screen time, but there's
- 39:12a few characters who have a kind of screen time alongside Timothy, and so
- 39:15it does make that choice kind of hard because they're all rock star performances.
- 39:22I feel like that I was I'm like, still haven't fully decided, so
- 39:27I'm working through this in my mind. In real time right now, I
- 39:30feel like, just because their chemistry is so good, I have a hard
- 39:36time go choosing anybody besides Zendaya as Johnny for this because of how important her
- 39:44the character ended up being to Paul's story arc obviously, and then Zendia is
- 39:51another one of those young actor actresses who can just like literally do no wrong.
- 39:54Like everything she's in as so much that I haven't seen that she's in,
- 39:59but I know that she's beyond stellar in everything that she does, you
- 40:04know, sure, and this is no exception to that. She is so
- 40:10believable. She's one of those faces actually, honestly, Timothy Challamey as well,
- 40:15where like you know their face really well at this point. So I
- 40:20feel like they've got to do an even like they have to act at a
- 40:23different caliber to like take you out of ye that's m that's Michelle, that's
- 40:29MJ from the Spider Man movies in the MCU, or that's Wonka or whatever,
- 40:31you know, Timothy Schallamey from, Like, they have to like really
- 40:36up their game even more and you completely forget that she who she is outside
- 40:42of the world. She does such a great job with Johnnie, and she's
- 40:45so like she's so doubtful and sort of like what's the right word I'm looking
- 40:51for, like uh, like jaded and just like really she's not she's not
- 40:57buying it right, and but she like can't help but fall for for Paul's
- 41:04charisma and like heart and stuff, you know what I mean. And again
- 41:07the heartbreaking sort of like way that their story shifts at the end, like
- 41:12Zindia just captures that and so subtly too, like with so little dialogue,
- 41:19you just feel every ounce of that like heartbreak and stuff between them. It's,
- 41:24as I'm saying it, I think kind of clear to me that she's
- 41:27the winner. But that man, there's quite a few people. There's a
- 41:30lot just beneath her. And so when she when when he does when he
- 41:35asks for Florence Pugh's characters and she doesn't say anything, then Da doesn't say
- 41:43anything, but she's it just looks like she gets the wind knocked out of
- 41:45her. Her reaction was so good. It's a it's a literal how do
- 41:50you how do you act that? So well? Like it's a good there's
- 41:52a gut punch, like a true like like her like the wind left her
- 41:58body, like it really was. It's hard crushing, but those three iseeling
- 42:06yeah beautiful. Yeah, and then she just she just leaves. Yeah.
- 42:14Yeah, that's a great pick. I decided to go a different route,
- 42:20and I was blown away by Austin Butler. Yeah, he clearly has a
- 42:28gift of changing his voice. He did a great job as Elvis. I
- 42:34couldn't believe how much he sounded like stelling Scar's Guard and it's amazing. I'm
- 42:37with you. I was shocked. But yeah, I was very impressed with
- 42:44him. He was just such a monster in this again, like he's not
- 42:50super like ripped, like compared to especially Dave Batista as the other Hearken and
- 42:54like cousin, who's a monster, he's not. Austin Butler is like a
- 42:59tall guy, but he's he's more slender and yet like you feel like he's
- 43:05got the strength of a thousand men inside him with just the presence that he
- 43:07had. Yeah, and I mean they went way over the top with how
- 43:13much of a monster he was. But yeah, I was. I was
- 43:16very very impressed with him. He's actually even more of a monster in the
- 43:21book, if you can believe that really, So, yeah, he's crazy.
- 43:23He certainly captured that better than Sting, I think. Yeah, from
- 43:29the old ones. Sting as fed was like comparing the the vision of these
- 43:35ones with the old one. The choice to make the hearken ins these like
- 43:39pale, you know, balls like it's a really like again the brutalist nature,
- 43:45and Austin Butler was just like yep, sign me up, yep.
- 43:51So fun that I had both of those people for sure. But I specifically
- 43:58was gonna say the way he met stelling Scar's guard voice is amazing. Could
- 44:02get over it, such such an interesting way of speaking. I've never heard
- 44:06anybody sound like Stone scars guard ever. Agreed. Scarcar's own children don't sound
- 44:12like him, and they are Swedish too, or whatever he is, you
- 44:15know what I mean. It's crazy, But I actually like kind of hadn't
- 44:19bought Austin Butler before this really in a big way. In this movie,
- 44:22I was like, oh, he's like a star, Okay, I get
- 44:25it. Cool, like one of those guys. Yeah, yeah, Well,
- 44:30I feel like it's a lot of hate because of the he like played
- 44:34Elvis, the Elvis voice. Yeah, couldn't shake his Elvis voice. And
- 44:37some people are on both sides, like I mean, he's a lot older
- 44:40playing Elvis than he was, and you look at these old videos and he's
- 44:43like sixteen. His voice is a little younger, but you can tell he
- 44:46was good though. He went so hard on the Elvis voice that it couldn't
- 44:50quite leave, and so you're kind of like, hmm, are we gonna
- 44:52get like an Elvis version of Fade's voice a little bit? But no,
- 44:55it's gone. It's a completely completely different voice. If it was, it's
- 45:00really And I don't I don't give him any flag for that because I sounded
- 45:04like Ron Burgundy for about three years during college and I didn't even play.
- 45:08So it's hard to shake. You pay me millions of dollars all sound like
- 45:13someone. Yeah, can you imagine going for like six seven straight months like
- 45:17fully immersing yourself in a character, like probably longer than that. It was
- 45:22his first thing, so he probably was like if I suck at this,
- 45:25I will never work again. So I have to be sent it. He
- 45:29worked full full beans on it, Yeah, for sure, but love that
- 45:34I was. I almost picked Tavier Bardem He's my runner up. Yeah,
- 45:37yeah, I still are really picked for the dude. He's so good in
- 45:43this movie. He brings a lot of the comedy that you had said,
- 45:45Riley, No, truly, he's he's like kind of the comedic guy,
- 45:49but he's so great in this movie as like comedian slash like steward slash like
- 45:58true believer in this prophecy Yeah, that we find out is sort of a
- 46:02manufactured set of prophecies like, which is really fun. He's a little bit
- 46:07he almost takes this like like narrator. Yeah, almost like he's he's that
- 46:15little bit of exposition that I was talking about you don't get very much of
- 46:17in the first one. He's sort of the storyteller. He fills in some
- 46:21of those gaps for you in like such often a funny way to get like
- 46:27with his perspective, he's quite hilarious, which is very different than the first
- 46:30one. I feel like he's the brief amount of time that we get him
- 46:34in the first one is really serious and intense, and you think he's going
- 46:37to be this like formidable not like antagonists, but like but like rock in
- 46:42a hard place for Paul, and then he ends up just literally like worshiping
- 46:46him in the most funny way possible. And I like to think I don't
- 46:51know if this is the answer. But I like to think that's because in
- 46:52the first one, Paul's on the outside. In the second one he is
- 46:57a fremin Yeah, so he gets to see people's true like that's there's absolutely
- 47:00or whatever. Yeah, I think that's so fun. But love, I
- 47:04thought he was so good in this, Yeah, in all the ways we
- 47:07talked about, and then shout out to Rebecca Ferguson, who I thought was
- 47:12also great. Has a really difficult part to play in this huge shift from
- 47:19the first super wild, huge shift from the first one, Like she's so
- 47:22like almost like mousey and timid and stuff in the first one and then is
- 47:28like kind of scary by the end of the second one. Well, he
- 47:31gains a considerable amount of power, oh for sure. But like her,
- 47:37Paul, they all have such these big, like really deep parks that they
- 47:40have, and it's very cool for the actors to have such a wide spectrum
- 47:46that they get to play with one character. You know. The only thing
- 47:51I don't understand is why she couldn't just use this voice in Silo, But
- 47:54that's a topic for another day. I just I'll never understand her sent in
- 48:00Silo. It's crazy. It's truly crazy Rob. Did you have any other
- 48:04runners up? I didn't. I mean, not that I needed to go
- 48:07into I just was so impressed that they got Josh Brolin back. Florence Pew
- 48:13was wonderful in a pretty limited role. Yeah, Christopher Walking. I thought
- 48:19he did his best not to sound like Christopher Walking in this. He didn't
- 48:23shed Christopher Walking nearly as much as Austin Butler Elvis for it. Yeah,
- 48:30I feel like had he gone full walking, it would have been really distracting
- 48:35henl skit or something, right, But Dave Bautista, he was. He
- 48:42was pretty fun in this. A little more limited in this one as well
- 48:47from the first one. Yeah, they introduced Lea say do Yeah, Lady
- 48:54Fenring. Lady Fenring, she was cool, crazy who when she was the
- 49:00one that like went to Austin Butler's character. She was part of the she's
- 49:06been a jesuit right she seduced him. Yes, yes, she continued to
- 49:13exactly that whole bit. Stealing Scarsguard is crazy so great, God, what
- 49:19a what a wild physical transformation. Like obviously I know it's prosthetically physically trans
- 49:24like, but like like very disturbing, Like really he really captures this ickiness
- 49:32of this character. You just get the heb jeebs fully threw from him in
- 49:39every way. That character has such an interesting background too. Yeah, I'd
- 49:45love to dive more into the action, like into like the book lore.
- 49:49I did briefly in between because I was like, I need to understand I
- 49:52got to understand some of this history that like led to this point. So
- 49:54I did like a little bit of a dive. But that's what I mean.
- 49:59All the characters are so fleshed out for these people to get to play.
- 50:01It's rad I had one more that was like an honorable mention sort of
- 50:07vibe, and that's I have no idea who this lady is outside of this,
- 50:09so this is looking it up fresh. So I didn't But Charlotte Ramping
- 50:14ramping Reverend mother, is it? Mohiam? Did they ever say that?
- 50:19Really? Just the main red I think they just call her reverend Mother.
- 50:22She's real, like real impending and really like again kind of just threatening,
- 50:30scary, manipulative mind, you know what I mean. Especially behind that veil,
- 50:35you just you feel like she's got so much more power than she leads
- 50:43on. Obviously she does both in like abilities and then just in literally like
- 50:49orchestrating all of this like crazy stuff that's happening, and the Benet Desert as
- 50:54a whole are so fascinating, and how much impact they have on this like
- 51:00universe, you know, like for crazy for sure, manipulating everything to to
- 51:08their what they see as the ultimate goal. It's it's wild, but you
- 51:13leg like two thousand years that they've been sort of planning this so long,
- 51:19and then like the bloodlines, like seeding the bloodlines, and like obviously like
- 51:23seeding the prophecy, which will you know, get into if we you know,
- 51:28get there. It's like such a such a crazy, deep thing.
- 51:31And she was great too. I love she was great. I loved when
- 51:36when he yells silence at her and she's just like she freaking she peed in
- 51:44her bitches a little bit on that one. And he's not supposed to have
- 51:46that bill. No, men aren't supposed to have it. Which did she
- 51:51know that was she wouldn't have done. I guess then that that lady Jessica
- 51:57was teaching him that right, because in the first one she laid Jessica sort
- 52:00of tricks Paul into going into that have that like test with her, and
- 52:04he like passes the test or whatever, but yeah, he doesn't. He
- 52:07really pulls that out of left field on her and just floors her with it.
- 52:12And part of it is because he's mastered it well after drinking the water
- 52:17of life or whatever it's called worm juice. The sand, Yeah, the
- 52:21sand wade gets the life because that's only supposed to be for women. And
- 52:28that's why she calls him an abomination because he does both. Which is also
- 52:34called his sister. But that's also his grandmother, which is weird, and
- 52:37she's so Reverend Mother Mohiam is Rebecca Ferguson's mother. She stooped Stellan Scarscard figured
- 52:50an inkling of that. Do we get an inkling of that in the movie?
- 52:52I miss that? Well, we knew that Scarsgard was her was Jessica
- 52:57Rebecca Ferguson's father, That was grandfather. That was a great, a great
- 53:02reveal. I like freaked out when that loved it. But also the Reverend
- 53:07Mother scars Guard gave her a child and then like did some stuff to make
- 53:14her mad. And so she's the reason why he has to have an adaptation
- 53:19to help him walk around, because she gave him a disease that made him
- 53:22both fat and also paralyzed. Oh my goodness, which is crazy. But
- 53:27that's right, that's not okay, dang, that's some that's some juicy ship
- 53:31right there. You don't want to mess with her. Oh no, no,
- 53:37no, still yeah. Javier bardam stillgar hilarious, amazing. Rebecca Ferguson
- 53:43was great. Austin Butler was so amazing. I loved. I just have
- 53:50to say to Josh Brolin, Daddy. Thanos was like, he's so great.
- 53:54He's so like he's another sort of not like necessarily a lot of really
- 53:59funny lines, but he brings a lightness. His relationship with Paul there like
- 54:04their love for each other with such a like nice little refreshing thing too,
- 54:07because a lot of this stuff gets heavy with like Paul's the weight on his
- 54:09shoulders. And so Gurney was this like little bit of like a I feel
- 54:15like a push, a push that he needed. He had this like extra
- 54:17bit of support from his past. He's got this big future and these new
- 54:22this new family of the Fremen. But then having Gurney in his on his
- 54:24side again was like reminded him of his Attrade's roots and how like the best
- 54:30of both of those things can help him forward. I love Josh Burl,
- 54:34and he's such an amazing actor and such a nice guy. I feel like
- 54:37everything I see about him, he's just the absolute best dude ever. Yeah,
- 54:42it's ridiculous. This cast is ridiculous, you guys. Yeah, Yeah,
- 54:49Let's let's move on to our favorite scenes. Let's pick the dingus soda
- 54:54is quite simple, really, dingus dingus. I can talk about my dingus
- 54:59all. I love you got on first again. Well, like I said,
- 55:04like I said to you guys, very very hard. I didn't get
- 55:08a chance to watch it again since I watched it like last month or whatever,
- 55:13which was a bummer because literally, dudes, literally it came out today
- 55:19on streaming. I saw that today. What did this movie weed on?
- 55:24Like prime? And like I did a bunch of different things, and I
- 55:28was like, damn it. I couldn't. I couldn't swing it. I
- 55:30wanted to try and watch it today, but we couldn't get the baby to
- 55:34nap and stuff. So I was a little bit like rusty on some of
- 55:37the specifics of things. So I'm interested to hear your guys is filling in
- 55:40the blanks. But there's a few that stand out for me that I like
- 55:44obviously couldn't forget. I was like obsessed with the coliseum battle on Gaety Prime
- 55:51with the same sad and and whoever the guy was that he fought. I
- 55:55guess it was like it was the doctor that's actually one of the lieutenants.
- 56:00It does kind of look like the doctor guy, but it's not. It's
- 56:04not him. I thought the same things, and I looked it up.
- 56:07It's not. I thought it was like a punishment for him for like whatever.
- 56:12Either way, like I said earlier, the stylistic choice to make their
- 56:16son this like creative black and white effect was so freaking rad I was like
- 56:24blown away. And then fireworks looked a lot like the Aliens in Arrival.
- 56:30Yeah, yes, ye kind of like this weird luid. Yeah, like
- 56:37very very cool, like just the coolest ideas. It's crazy. That was
- 56:40ridiculous. The the Paul learning to ride the sandworm scene, my god,
- 56:47it was so ridiculous, Like uh so, the like the scale you really
- 56:55really get a sense of the scale of because you see the like brief moment
- 57:00of the dude riding the sand room at the end of the first one.
- 57:02As I go, whoa tease and then you see it a little bit.
- 57:06But like when we're much closer with Paul, we're like, we could really
- 57:09feel the stress and the weight of this, like this rite of passage that
- 57:14he has to accomplish, so sick still don't scene was worth going to the
- 57:21theater to see it. It was that scene alone, Yes, And we
- 57:24got the music's thing for the first time in this movie. The hot Yeah,
- 57:30you know, like I love that so good. Oh my gosh.
- 57:35Brief tangent, brief tangent. It's related to the movie, so it's only
- 57:37a sort of a tangent. I meant to say this earlier in the hot
- 57:40take because uh, Rob, I think you mentioned the music, and how
- 57:44ridiculous, oh ridiculous the music is the score. I mean again, Hans
- 57:47Zimmer is. Arguably there's guys like John Williams who have like more notice of
- 57:53like you're like the Star Wars theme or whatever, like the Harry Potter theme,
- 57:55but like Hans Zimmer's work as a whole, I think is the most
- 58:00incredible body of score work in history. I think maybe some like Ludwig Gordnson
- 58:09might over overtake him eventually because he's got such a long career ahead of him,
- 58:14and he's like he's an animal. But on Zimmer does no wrong.
- 58:19And it's particularly fun when Zimmer scores something because he always always uses Tina Glow
- 58:25as his primary as his primary cellist who we know closely. We know Tina
- 58:30closely. We did videos for her back in the day. She stayed at
- 58:37our house. Like she's super super cool. She's the most incredible cellist in
- 58:44like on the planet. She's so good. You guys like and cool things
- 58:49like in this one, it was like make like I saw an interview and
- 58:52it was like he wanted his main floutest to literally invent a new flu that
- 59:01felt crazy when it was played, felt like this, like the sand blowing
- 59:07in the wind. That's what Hans Zimmer wanted this guy to do, like
- 59:12build a flute that sounds like the sand. All the email said, Hi,
- 59:15Hi Jessica, I was hoping you could make a flute that sounds like
- 59:21the sand drifting across the desert. I'll talk to you in two weeks.
- 59:23Thanks so much. Bye, And I'm pretty sure and you look it up
- 59:25again. I'm actually pretty sure that we that I've met that flouts as well,
- 59:30because he knows Tina well Tina, and like it's this it's this very
- 59:32like well connected group of amazing musicians. And similarly with her, like she's
- 59:38she plays the wonder Woman theme, like the like she's very very you have
- 59:45heard so much of what she's done, and in this one it's like a
- 59:49bunch of really fun distorted cello stuff. I literally have a practice cello whoa
- 59:55that she bought and brought here to shoot videos like E and I still plunk
- 1:00:01and dink on it, just like little plunky sounds and songs. I was
- 1:00:06recording some of it for I just left it. She was like, I
- 1:00:09might come back. Well it caught. It would cost it was it would
- 1:00:12have cost her more to buy a plane ticket for her nice cello that's like
- 1:00:16a multi thousand dollars cello. So she bought this like two hundred dollars practice
- 1:00:21cello and then just left it here because why take it? So I've had
- 1:00:24it for years and I goof around on it. Anyways, I just had
- 1:00:28to say that because her her influence in a lot of the music is so
- 1:00:31cool and intense. Quickly though, the attack on the Emperor's Fortress with all
- 1:00:37the sandworms, crazy, was intense, unbelievable. I was like, what
- 1:00:45are the physics of this? How are these sandworms? Worms leaping out of
- 1:00:47the sand? This is insane. I couldn't It was just it was unreal,
- 1:00:53so sick. But I I'm gonna let you guys go because I think
- 1:00:59we're gonna end up having the same Number one scene. But I want to
- 1:01:02hear you talk about it first. I don't know, I mean, you
- 1:01:06picked, you picked. Honestly, I feel like the riding the sandworm blew
- 1:01:14my mind, So I'm gonna go with that. I'm gonna go with that
- 1:01:16is my favorite, just because it just knocked my socks off the first time
- 1:01:22I saw it, and for all the reasons you said. My runner up
- 1:01:25was the taking out the Hearken and Spice tractor thing. So we see all
- 1:01:34these little things sticking out of the sand and they're a little like breathing thearatie
- 1:01:38And as soon as the big tractor comes, they jump out of the sand.
- 1:01:43They attacked. It gets hairy, they lose some frem into the chopper.
- 1:01:47That's like taking them out. But when they go and get the rocket
- 1:01:53launcher and Paul knows that he's got to like be bait so that they start
- 1:02:00shooting at him so that they can get through the shield. Yeah, and
- 1:02:06then like the thing moves up and he's got Like it was just so stressful,
- 1:02:10but all of that cinematography was so cool. And then once they get
- 1:02:14the chopper, we have them running and the chopper in the background was like
- 1:02:19and just all that fire, breath taking cinematography, the choices, the creative
- 1:02:23choices with all that, Like you're saying it was nuts, Yeah, it
- 1:02:27was nuts and so stressful, and yeah that blew me away. But I
- 1:02:31mean I certainly wouldn't be mad at the last like twenty minutes that ye,
- 1:02:36so you know what I mean, that's what I was alluding to. Yeah,
- 1:02:38I didn't want to like take everything and step on toes because the whole
- 1:02:42the Paul and Faed battle that then just bleeds over into the conversation with the
- 1:02:49employer and all of that stuff. Was like, yeah, that's I think.
- 1:02:52I was just like totally is the gape? Yeah? What what did
- 1:02:57you have? Bukes? I mean a lot of the ones you guys said,
- 1:03:00the worm writing, I can still remember because we see part of that
- 1:03:05in the like the trailer, and I was like if they're showing that the
- 1:03:07trailer, like this movie's gonna be insane because that's giving something away. But
- 1:03:14well it's such a huge part of the you know, of the book and
- 1:03:16whatever. But it's awesome. I really liked that scene a lot. I
- 1:03:21am with you, Rob. I loved the Spice vessel attack scene. See
- 1:03:24that's one that I forgot about, Like I didn't think about that because I
- 1:03:28hadn't it's been a minute since I've watched it, y know. And like
- 1:03:31especially if we then include right after that is when they give him his game
- 1:03:37and they include him and stuff, and that's just so cool. That was
- 1:03:40a great scene. Yeah, it's slightly cooler in the book, to be
- 1:03:44honest, but this is it's still pretty cool in this. You know,
- 1:03:47in the in the book, he picks the mouse without realizing that it's the
- 1:03:52mouse because he thinks the words sound cool and he like has a premonition of
- 1:03:58people chanting wadib and so he just says it, which is like almost more
- 1:04:02fun than he picks like this, you know, silly thing, but it's
- 1:04:06good. I loved how Javier Bardem is like no, no, no,
- 1:04:10this is yeah, this is like a really I mean, he creates his
- 1:04:14own water, Like I really loved his reaction to it. Yeah, and
- 1:04:17in the book for sure, for sure, So yeah, yeah, but
- 1:04:20I'm with you. I loved that part. That whole scene is just so
- 1:04:24fun because it's really so like it feels like such a big deal in this
- 1:04:29intimate moment to give him that nance, the camaraderie, the acceptance, all
- 1:04:33in that moment. It's really powerful. Really liked that. But I mean
- 1:04:38the same thing. The end is like just crazy. It's so good.
- 1:04:42It's a mental man like when they plan the attack from three different fronts and
- 1:04:45like so good. They're like the mountains will protect us, and there's like
- 1:04:49the hell they will bro like you're screwed, no, And you don't always
- 1:04:54like expect, you expect something to like go wrong right like you want.
- 1:04:58Like movies, so often the plan goes wrong and something goes wrong, and
- 1:05:01this one it kind of all goes right, and it's it's so epic,
- 1:05:05Like it's so satisfying. That's when that's what happens when you have a basically
- 1:05:11omnipotent person in power. Although like arguably it all going right is what goes
- 1:05:19wrong, depending on how you feel about mass genocide across the universe, but
- 1:05:24that'll be covered in Messiah. So about it right now because it gets crazy,
- 1:05:30But love that. I also love when Jessica drinks the water of life
- 1:05:38and it changes both her and the baby. Yeah, And I feel like
- 1:05:42that's the thing we'll find out more about in the next one. But in
- 1:05:45the in the book that there's enough time between things that the child is actually
- 1:05:50born Paul's little sister Yea, and she is an abomination because she drank this
- 1:05:56water of life. So she basically is a reverent mother, but as a
- 1:06:00four year old, so she is has all the memories and all the powers
- 1:06:04of the reverend mothers, but in a four year old's body. And I'm
- 1:06:08glad they didn't do that because it would have been real weird and creepy.
- 1:06:12Well, they already give you this fetus who's like like very intellectually like communicating
- 1:06:18and talking with Lady Jessica and stuff. Can you since you seem to be
- 1:06:23a wealth of knowledge knowing all the stuff from the book, how did she
- 1:06:27not die from the worm juice? Like or how did the baby not get
- 1:06:32like what happened there? Because I really missed that and I couldn't figure it
- 1:06:34out on line either. So that the Benetjetzert has this have this ability that
- 1:06:39they they learn and they learn how to harness to trans baby basically transmutate poisons
- 1:06:45in their bodies into poisons that they can fight. And so it is like
- 1:06:50an acquired skill that they learn and and go with. So does it have
- 1:06:57to do with it with Aliyah or whatever the baby's name is, like getting
- 1:07:02it as well? Did like it seems like significant, like she almost transferred
- 1:07:08some of the weight to the baby too. Like the way that they showed
- 1:07:11those shots, I was convinced, not so much that it's just that the
- 1:07:14baby gets the good parts of it as well as well as the protection from
- 1:07:17her mother. So the big thing that happens is the benijea and are never
- 1:07:21supposed to have this when they're pregnant because it turns the child into this other
- 1:07:27extra powerful being that's like a given. And then I also the way that
- 1:07:31they showed that happened and then like the older woman like immediately died, I
- 1:07:36almost thought was like did she somehow transfer the poisonous effect to her? That
- 1:07:42is the thing. So they actually both so the child, the fetus and
- 1:07:45the Mother now have all the memories and all the wisdom of every reverend mother
- 1:07:50that has ever come before them, and there's like a certain amount of reverend
- 1:07:55mothers that can be around at any one time. It's kind of like Jedi
- 1:08:00like the past. Yeah, so you can only have a certain number.
- 1:08:03So then that that one dies because Jessica, and it's more like they make
- 1:08:09another one as the other as they're getting close to death. So it's not
- 1:08:13it's not because they exist that they die. It is just part of their
- 1:08:15ritual, gotcha. And a lot of that is because they've been having these
- 1:08:19plans for thousands of years, so they need like that continuity. Okay,
- 1:08:24cool, that's really that's super fascinating. Thank you for flashing that up because
- 1:08:27I was at another thing. Yeah. Interesting, Yeah, you're going into
- 1:08:30that. So did Paul do any of that kind of training? And is
- 1:08:34that way he did not die? He gets some of it. He also
- 1:08:39this is where it gets murky in the book, because yes he has that
- 1:08:43training and yes he takes advantage of it, but he also it's kind of
- 1:08:46the self fulfilling prophecy trope where it's like he knows that if he does this
- 1:08:51he will survive. So he does it and then and I read, I
- 1:08:56read that weird. Is it true that the Chinese role as the like desert
- 1:09:01spring or whatever her like something with her nickname and this as well, where
- 1:09:04her her she was a more integral part of the prophecy of him not dying
- 1:09:11from the worm juice in like her tears with something. I think that's right,
- 1:09:15But it's also supposed to be she doesn't really affect him other than she
- 1:09:21fulfills the prophecy, which gives him more power and buy in from the people.
- 1:09:27So this is just one of the Bennetjesert prophecies that they they made up
- 1:09:30so that they would be fulfilled. Basically turns him into a godlike creature,
- 1:09:36right, okay, hm, which is weird and fun mm hmm. It
- 1:09:42was fun but yeah, super fun. But I think if I picked a
- 1:09:46favorite, I think, well, the end of the movie is probably the
- 1:09:50answer. But I'd pick the spice Vessel. But it's probably just the end
- 1:09:54of the movie all things, I think probably Yeah, Okay, I don't
- 1:09:58know about that. If I I don't want to just go with that.
- 1:10:00If you guys are like if the sand writings do our minds too much.
- 1:10:04Then it's like that was so great, But we get the sandworms at the
- 1:10:10end anyway, along with an army of people. We do, yeah,
- 1:10:13we do. That's true battles and yeah, I think we just go at
- 1:10:16the end. Let's go at the end. I'm sure. I love it.
- 1:10:18I think it's is chosen, chosen, I love it. Let's do
- 1:10:25some quotes. Yeah, buddy, let's show me the money, show me
- 1:10:28the money, show me what do you got for quotes? A long ass
- 1:10:40movie, you guys, this is a long ass movie that has a lot
- 1:10:42of dialogue. Well, every word out of Hoveyard Bardem's mouth was quotable.
- 1:10:51You know what I mean. He's so great. He's so great, and
- 1:10:54his like his unabashed like fan fanboying over Paul as the like Messiah figure was
- 1:11:04like you said, it was such a nice little bit of humor throughout.
- 1:11:09It's like everything was like the prophecy is lis like and he's just getting everybody
- 1:11:14in the best. The one that I found the funniest as I was looking
- 1:11:16through stuff in my mind, it was, uh was when it was like
- 1:11:20the muddy is too humble to say he's the mudy even a reason to know.
- 1:11:24He is always written like he's just so no matter what, right,
- 1:11:29Yeah, he's there, Like I wasn't certainly going to write it all down
- 1:11:34or go through like Paul's whole like ending speech to the Emperor. Everything so
- 1:11:41good, so great. The Cave speech was had me worried though, because
- 1:11:48I was like, I don't mean it's a great scene. As he just
- 1:11:54like comes through and that's like Johnny, like really people, they're all like,
- 1:11:58what are you doing? You know this is not your place to do
- 1:12:00this? And then he gets he wins them all over really powerful, gets
- 1:12:05some real like the rules don't apply to me, the situation stuff. Yeah,
- 1:12:11he just comes in like with some some big d energy and he commands
- 1:12:16all of their attention. I wrote that one down. He says, there's
- 1:12:19no one in this room who can stand against me. Your mother's warned you
- 1:12:24about my coming. Fear the moment, but you think you could have a
- 1:12:28chance, but you are afraid what if I could be the one? This
- 1:12:30could be the moment you've been praying for all your life. So sick.
- 1:12:34And then he like tells all of them their dreams and their lives and like
- 1:12:40basically just proves that he's And how does he know? I forget, how
- 1:12:45does he know? Because once he's taken the water of life or whatever,
- 1:12:48he can see back and forth in time, gotcha? Okay? Cool?
- 1:12:51So he's got and levels that yeah, like his like spice exposure and stuff.
- 1:12:57There's so and like again Timothy, like his like neck veins, like
- 1:13:01the dude, like you said, his slender dude. But he just like
- 1:13:04the way that he delivers, He's fully in it. It's so sick.
- 1:13:09Yeah, so great. I loved it. Was really a bummer like thing
- 1:13:15for Paul to hear. But uh, the Emperor when he's like explaining why
- 1:13:19he did what he did with with the duke or whatever, like, was
- 1:13:24do you know why I killed him? Because he was a man who believed
- 1:13:26in the rules of the heart. But the heart's not meant to rule.
- 1:13:29In other words, your father was a weak man. I was like,
- 1:13:31Oh, that's really you really have a death sentence. You just watched this
- 1:13:36dude absolutely best a psychopath, and you're going to throw that kind of or
- 1:13:43maybe it was beforehand, I don't know, like you are going to throw
- 1:13:45that kind of out at him. I was bold and just really sad because
- 1:13:50reminding you too, like of how I feel like there Paul and Leto were
- 1:13:55really close, you know what I mean, and it was like that's that
- 1:13:58was a heartbreaking loss for anyways, that was a great specific line from the
- 1:14:01Emperor in that. But I can't help but choose made thy knife chip and
- 1:14:09shatter and then made thy knife chip and shatter? Like what that was so
- 1:14:19awesome and kind of hilarious at the same time because it was such a mic
- 1:14:25drop like thing for Paul to say in that moment, because he's like,
- 1:14:31it's such a diss like such a burn, like like I'm going to break
- 1:14:36your sword, dude, and then Fad being like, oh that was sick.
- 1:14:41I'm gonna I'm gonna throw that right back at him again, like the
- 1:14:44internal the thought process behind being like, oh yeah, maybe well made thy
- 1:14:47knife chip and shatter, bro Like, it's just such a great I couldn't
- 1:14:51help but choose that, And it's been like memed like a ton you know,
- 1:14:56and how funny it was. I couldn't help it. It's my favorite,
- 1:15:00my favorite when it goes back to him being poly trades again on Iracus
- 1:15:03while he's both of these things, because he says in the first movie too,
- 1:15:06which is so fun. Oh does he? I forgot that completely.
- 1:15:09Yeah, that's one of the it's it's one of the I believe it's an
- 1:15:12Iraqis thing. The Chris Knife made that knife chip and chatter is like a
- 1:15:17what does he say Gurney or something when they're practicing, when does he say
- 1:15:21it? Yeah, with Gurney at the very beginning of Doune one. That's
- 1:15:26awesome. I didn't even remember that. That makes it so much better.
- 1:15:29Yeah. Great. Another thing that was great with Gurney that they brought back
- 1:15:33was the I recognize your footsteps, old man. Yes, I love that.
- 1:15:38Yeah, I loved that when it came back. So fun. That's
- 1:15:44it for me, guys, what's that? That's it for me? I
- 1:15:46want to hear anything else? Oh yeah, since it's more. That was
- 1:15:49one that I had Grandfather you die like an animal, sick sick. That
- 1:15:58was pretty good. Love that m so I had mentioned before. I liked
- 1:16:04that. Still, Gar was excited about Moadib. Wdeb is wise in the
- 1:16:09ways of the desert. Wadib makes his own water. The constellation and the
- 1:16:13stars that points to the north, which we also called Wadib shows us the
- 1:16:15way wade. That is a powerful name that. I also liked his never
- 1:16:25give your water away even for the dead, when uh Jess, because he's
- 1:16:30the Yeah, what do they call that? The water the like holy water?
- 1:16:34Yeah, I forget what they call it, but it's basically the souls
- 1:16:39of all the collect all the collect all the water right and bring it back
- 1:16:43to their little likefur of of souls. Really cool, and I loved him
- 1:16:47saying I will love you for as long as I breathe. It's beautiful.
- 1:16:54And then a silly one just when she yells out you sand walk like a
- 1:16:57drunk lizard. It was her and that friend. That friend was really good.
- 1:17:04Cute. Yeah, but those two like talking him the whole time was
- 1:17:08really a fun little side. It was like it was like the gen Z
- 1:17:11of Aracus, you know what I mean, Like they were Yeah, the
- 1:17:14way they were dogging on him, I loved it. So what were some
- 1:17:17of yours bukes? Speaking of Javier still when he's like sent to pizza,
- 1:17:25very nasty. Not the big ones they're harmless, but the little ones.
- 1:17:28And then he holds his hands up and does like a footnet, you know,
- 1:17:30like the little ones you have to worry about. I just thought that
- 1:17:34was so funny. And then he does like the trick where he's talking about
- 1:17:38the Gin taking people's souls and then he's like ah, and he's like but
- 1:17:43it's true. Don't listen to them, you know, Like he's just so
- 1:17:45funny. The whole time. He had like dad jokes you know what I
- 1:17:48mean, yeah, big time. It's so good. I love it.
- 1:17:51Also the like, oh, go ahead when he said when he said gin,
- 1:17:56I was like, hold the phone. We're getting into like interesting,
- 1:17:59we're getting to like earth based mythology here, like death, we're talking about
- 1:18:01genie mythology. And then it like it snaps you back and be like,
- 1:18:05oh yeah, this is like these are humans ten thousand years from their twenty
- 1:18:10thousand years from whatever. It is like these this is the you know,
- 1:18:15hypothetical evolution of mankind from Earth. So it's cool to see that. Like
- 1:18:19maybe that was unintentional me it was, but like some of those mythologies have
- 1:18:23maintained through time, and it's like that was a fun little I love mythology
- 1:18:28stuff. So to hear jin and be like, woh, that's like the
- 1:18:30same these books, dude, Because they're wild with all that stuff. Oh,
- 1:18:34I would love it. I also love when Paul's talking to his mother
- 1:18:40and he's like, it's an honor, isn't it. I think he should
- 1:18:43feel honored. He's just like, well, it was a choice between this
- 1:18:45or death, so you can forgive me if I'm not flattered. I just
- 1:18:48loved yeah, so glib, so fun. Loved that Paul says to Johnny,
- 1:18:55I'd very much like to be to be equal to you, which I
- 1:18:59loved the lovely. Also Javier when he's like, take my life with Suel.
- 1:19:05It is the only way. And then he's like he's finally just like
- 1:19:09breaks and he's like, I'm pointing the way. This is my hou you
- 1:19:13know, like, no, we'll do it the way I say. I
- 1:19:17love that so much for so many reasons. And then the I love this
- 1:19:24line because it's so steeped in the books. It's so fun. But at
- 1:19:28the very end, they're like we await They basically say, the other houses
- 1:19:31have said they will not you know, they won't accept you being emperor and
- 1:19:36they won't kneel to you. And he's like, we await your orders,
- 1:19:40Lissan al Gaib and then he just goes lead them to paradise, which basically
- 1:19:45they say the whole time by killing them, we are setting them free,
- 1:19:49and that is him. So it's kind of in the books it's called the
- 1:19:55Jihat because it's based off of you know, like people from Arabic countries.
- 1:20:00Yeah, but I remember saying that when I was researching something. Yeah,
- 1:20:03Like he went away from that obviously for the movies because of you know,
- 1:20:06various things and prejudices. But lead them to Paradise is basically him accepting like,
- 1:20:13no, I am this messiah character and let's let's purge the galaxy based
- 1:20:19which is crazy. Lead them to Paradise is such a badass line, such
- 1:20:24a badass line. Well, he talks about paradise. They talk about paradise
- 1:20:27a couple other times, right, like kind of like in the cave speech,
- 1:20:30I feel like he mentions yep that as well, And so it's that
- 1:20:33final sort of like I'm in it. I'm all in. That's part because
- 1:20:38that's part of the prophecy that the Benijetsa have put out there too, is
- 1:20:42that he will lead them to green Paradise, which is so cool because they
- 1:20:45like they could see the coming the you know of that sort of messiah figure,
- 1:20:53and if I'm not mistaken, they they were intending for it to be
- 1:20:57like the subsequent generation of when it would happen. Yeah. And then so
- 1:21:00at the beginning of June one, they say that Jessica screwed up and she
- 1:21:04made a boy rather than a girl as her child because he was actually supposed
- 1:21:11to marry what's his name, Elvis guy, Austin Butler. She's supposed to
- 1:21:16marry him, and their child is supposed to be the action. Yeah.
- 1:21:24Quisant. Yeah, such a crazy freaking word, quisot something. And then
- 1:21:28and then the Benezas they're like, but they've been for hundreds or thousands of
- 1:21:30years seeding the prophecy to the people of Iracus, right, so they like
- 1:21:34when it comes to them, it's the same guy, the same person,
- 1:21:39and so then they're like all in with it and helping like propel it.
- 1:21:43I don't think it's hundreds of thousands. I think it's like a millenniare no,
- 1:21:46Yeah, I think I said hundreds, but again I said thousands.
- 1:21:48A huge scale of time, which is just the manipulation through time is crazy
- 1:21:54that how much influence they've had, super fun That was all the quotes I
- 1:21:58wrote down. Did you guys have any other? No specific The whole damn
- 1:22:02thing was was a masterpiece. Should we go into the boo Who's let's go
- 1:22:08to the boohoo moments, the crying game, Wait, strong men also cry?
- 1:22:16Strong men also cry. So I wasn't great at putting down how many
- 1:22:25times I thought I was able to come up with three, But I'm assuming
- 1:22:29there's more than that. So Riley, if you think of any more,
- 1:22:33honestly forgot about this section. So I'm going to noodle quickly as we talk
- 1:22:36here. Yeah. Yeah, So the first one I thought of was the
- 1:22:42I recognize your footsteps, old man when he gets to see Gurney. Love
- 1:22:45that. Love that absolutely, When Schohnnie sees that Paul is barely alive and
- 1:22:53then her deserts bring tears, bring him back to life. I did love
- 1:22:56that. Yeah. And when Paul says he will take the Princess's hand while
- 1:23:01Chowny is right there in the room, Yeah for sure. Mm hmmm.
- 1:23:06So those are the three. But again I still feel like I'm missing some.
- 1:23:12I feel like I feel like there was like a like a It was
- 1:23:17highly emotional when Jessica was with still Guard down by the waters. I don't
- 1:23:21know if that was tearworthy for you. It's emotional, though, yeah,
- 1:23:29I wasn't sure if it had enough of a specificity to it, you know,
- 1:23:33like to actually jerk any tears out of there. God, I don't
- 1:23:39think I can think of any at the top of my like that. I
- 1:23:43couldn't help it. I wasn't even looking. What you do people listening.
- 1:23:51If you want to see Beig's face, go to a Patreon doctor face just
- 1:23:58got me, I said, jerk some tears. I looked off this way
- 1:24:00to think and I miss so now I gotta see the face and the clip.
- 1:24:06Have that be the clip on social media. I can't think of it.
- 1:24:10You tell us, tell us what else got you? Ah? Yeah,
- 1:24:13So I loved at the very beginning only because it's a real like juxtaposition
- 1:24:17spot. But uh CHANI says to him, palm disul, maybe you could
- 1:24:24be fremming. Maybe I'll show you the way and then sexy time. Yeah,
- 1:24:30but him saying I'll show you the way, it's like a whole different
- 1:24:32thing. So I liked that a lot, and think about other people having
- 1:24:36sex makes me sad. So that looks out I'm really getting robbed. And
- 1:24:45yet I also love when we had some hype tears robbed hype tears. Oh
- 1:24:54yeah, there could have been some I could have picked, like eight hype
- 1:24:57tears, if you know what I mean. Hellode the sand where I'm all
- 1:25:04right. But yeah that when that that sound comes back in that I love
- 1:25:15that so much. Just that really got me out. Like he is when
- 1:25:18he is walking to the cave speech so score, Yeah, dude, I
- 1:25:27love that so much. And then at one point he's like, if I
- 1:25:30go south, I may lose you, And that got me, yeah,
- 1:25:33because it's because it's also true, but it's true a number of things we
- 1:25:36know. I think that was it though. So I had seven seven,
- 1:25:44Yeah, seven, I didn't do great. It's hard in the theater.
- 1:25:47It makes it a long movie and you're like like it's one of those things
- 1:25:51where like if that was my job to think of all the boohoo's, and
- 1:25:54I would be so bad at it because I'm so like become the seat and
- 1:25:58I'm just like fully absorbing it and I can't like think outside the box of
- 1:26:02what's happening in the moment, you know what I mean. That's funny,
- 1:26:06Yeah for sure, but yeah, so pretty good. Let's go do a
- 1:26:12little movie now, Yes, Stealin Scar's guard's body makeup took eight hours to
- 1:26:17apply and two hours to remove for every day of shooting. Because of this,
- 1:26:21he didn't drink anything and took emmodium pills in order to avoid having to
- 1:26:27go to the bathroom at all during shoot days. God yeah, wear a
- 1:26:32dip be too, probably just in case, I would guess, right,
- 1:26:35some depends on. That's as bad as like a crazy actual physical transformation,
- 1:26:41you know what I mean, Like Henry Cavill not drinking water for the Witcher
- 1:26:44so that he can be super extra cut, like crazy scene, a full
- 1:26:48work day's worth of just makeup on and off, not including the acting you
- 1:26:53have to do. Yeah, and if they started like even reasonably early,
- 1:26:58he would have to be there like two am. And he's kind of an
- 1:27:00old he's kind of an older dude too, so I'm like, yeah,
- 1:27:02that's like hard enough for a young buck to go through for like whatever,
- 1:27:06you know, yeah, crazy, I just thought that was wild. Lady
- 1:27:11Jessica's facial tattoos are the Benica at Litany against Fear, which I think is
- 1:27:15really cool. The fear is the mind killer and all that good stuff.
- 1:27:18So that was neat. I thought this was kind of cool. Denise says
- 1:27:24that he will not release any deleted scenes, and then he explains, I'm
- 1:27:28a strong believer that when it's not in the movie, it's dead. I
- 1:27:31killed darlings and it's painful for me. Sometimes I remove shots and I say,
- 1:27:34I can't believe I'm cutting this out. I feel like a samurai opening
- 1:27:39my gut. It's painful. So I can't go back after that and create
- 1:27:42a Frankenstein and try to reanimate things that I killed. It's too painful.
- 1:27:46When it's dead, it's dead, and it's dead for a reason. But
- 1:27:49yes, it's a painful project, but it is my job. The movie
- 1:27:53prevails, and I'm very I think severe in the editing room. I'm not
- 1:27:58thinking about my egle. I'm you go, I'm thinking about the movie.
- 1:28:00I just thought that was really like, that's pretty cool. That's insane,
- 1:28:05and I know that, like I saw he there's that sort of the older
- 1:28:11gentleman that's like one of the trade's mentats who, like I read, had
- 1:28:15scenes in this movie that got cut as well as a whole other character that
- 1:28:19was like that had stuff and I forget who the actor was that, but
- 1:28:24it was like a well known actor that with like a cameo who didn't make
- 1:28:27the cut either. Oh yeah, it's Tim Blake Nelson. That was Nelson,
- 1:28:32completely cut, that big guy that was in Uh Ladybird as the teacher.
- 1:28:41And he's been in a bunch of other stuff lately. He's kind of
- 1:28:43having a Stephen McKinley Henderson and Tim Blake Nelson. Anderson is the mentas the
- 1:28:50first one for a half second, and he had a bunch of stuff get
- 1:28:54cut. And that sucks to not to be like, well, I guess
- 1:28:57no one's ever gonna actually see him, damn whatever, But what are you
- 1:29:01gonna do? Not even with the gag reel or any of that stuff.
- 1:29:05Gag reel for doom too, that would be fun. I like that.
- 1:29:11Uh. The language often the language used oftentimes by the Fremen is called chick
- 1:29:17Chacobza in the novels Uh, and it derives from real life Arabic, although
- 1:29:23it also contains parts of French, Greek, Romani, and Slavic, as
- 1:29:28well as Hebrew and Sanskrit. So I just thought that was cool. Cool.
- 1:29:30Yeah, it's got such a such an Arabic nature to it, but
- 1:29:33then like but also that sort of Eastern European like intensity to it. Time
- 1:29:41And I love mia movie. I'm like a real nerd with like linguistic stuff,
- 1:29:45like I love digging into how linguists create languages for movies, like whether
- 1:29:53it's like Navi in the Avatar movies or like duth RACKI and Game of Thrones,
- 1:29:58like the speakable languages, you know what I mean? And saying with
- 1:30:01this like such a freaking cool job. Yeah, that would be interesting,
- 1:30:05man, Yeah that's wild. Greg Fraser, the cinematographer for part one end
- 1:30:14two, suggested to shoot the sequence on uh is it gayety prime? I
- 1:30:18don't remember how that's prime? And they shot it with infrared cameras to give
- 1:30:25the skin a translucent texture. Just cool a little bit. It's so cool.
- 1:30:31I'm such a such a dork for that kind of stuff. I'm like,
- 1:30:34how do you accomplish these things? How do you? How do you
- 1:30:36think of these ideas? It's so sick. Well this and uh, I
- 1:30:43think it was a book thing to have it an inverse son I believe because
- 1:30:46they said something about this is the first time it's ever been shown in any
- 1:30:50media from the Dune universe. I feel like Frank did some of that stuff
- 1:30:55where he like had these ideas that were like nine unfilmables, and I think
- 1:31:00Denny picked and chose carefully what he wanted to try and make a reality that
- 1:31:05I could do that. Yeah, just get it in for red camera.
- 1:31:08You know. Austin Butler probably was very sad when we were talking earlier because
- 1:31:13he gained twenty five pounds of muscle to play Fade Raltha in this movie.
- 1:31:17Okay, still he was. I'm just saying, just slender. He's slenderer,
- 1:31:24and especially because they they juxtaposed him with with Dave Batista, who's massive,
- 1:31:29and Darren Harkinan who's like really really very large in an unhealthy scary way.
- 1:31:34So like he appears more slender than his counterparts, but he's formidably strong
- 1:31:41looking like that. He thought pounces a lot. I felt like he just
- 1:31:45in his back muscles. They really showed those track to me. Can we
- 1:31:50get some shots of that? Because I worked hard for a lot of chicken
- 1:31:57and I worked. Can you guys imagine me twenty five pounds of muscle?
- 1:32:01That would not look natural. I won't be able to move your head,
- 1:32:05I can't wipe my ass. Guys. Let's see, all these films were
- 1:32:15not filmed back to back, kind of famously. The the second one didn't
- 1:32:19get approved until four days after the first one had been out, which is
- 1:32:23the weirdest thing I've ever heard. And it was complicated by COVID, so
- 1:32:28maybe that's why. I don't know. It was crazy, only has an
- 1:32:30effect on it crazy to think. I mean, it obviously didn't take them
- 1:32:33long to be like, yeah, this is yeah, we'll do another one.
- 1:32:36Sure, Sure, I think we're going to green light that. Let's
- 1:32:41see. They chose desert locations based on specific sand dunes having a certain shape
- 1:32:46that Phil and Eve wanted or the perfect sun orientation that Fraser the cinematographer needed,
- 1:32:55and I thought this was cool. To keep the desert views as pristine
- 1:32:58as possible, they had to keep strict discipline with the crew to make them
- 1:33:01walk in like really tight corridors in order not to disturb the sand with footprints
- 1:33:06prior to filming, distracting Hell yeah, you can't distract, or an absolute
- 1:33:13pain in the ass in post to try and like clone stamp those like footprints
- 1:33:17out, like the affects them out. What a pain in the ass that
- 1:33:20would be. So I love that kind of like uh, strict nature to
- 1:33:28to that that's important. They also apparently had like a special sand team that
- 1:33:32would sweep the sands to erase the prince for the next morning as well,
- 1:33:35which is pretty cool kind of believe it how you found it situation, which
- 1:33:40is fun. Let's see what else do we God, I won't read the
- 1:33:45whole quote, but Steven Spielberg like loved this movie and he gushed over it,
- 1:33:49to which I bet was a strange thing to really surreal experience. Yeah,
- 1:33:57I guess he's been he's been successful before, but still, like,
- 1:34:00it's got to be crazy to have Steven Spielberg be like, this movie is
- 1:34:03perfect. Whatever looks so crazy in the I thought this was fun. In
- 1:34:12the original novel, Baron Harkinen is killed by the little sister Aliyah, but
- 1:34:19she kills him with a weapon they use to kill animals, and that's why
- 1:34:23he says, you die like grandfather. Look kind of like a little homage
- 1:34:28to that, And then Denie included a salute to David Lynch, director of
- 1:34:33the nineteen eighty four Dune. At the start of Lynch's Blue Velvet, Kyle
- 1:34:38McClanahan mcclana lan sorry finds a severed human ear crawling with ants. And toward
- 1:34:45the end of this film, when the screen shows the dead body of Still
- 1:34:48and Scar's guard, the camera zooms in on the ear and it's likewise crawling
- 1:34:51with ants. And when I read that, I was like, Okay,
- 1:34:55that makes sense because that shot really it didn't like take me out of it
- 1:34:59because it was pretty slow. But I was like, why are there ants?
- 1:35:01Like we haven't seen ants at any point up till now. But interesting.
- 1:35:05Cool that it's an homashe to. That is very interesting. I remember
- 1:35:12that. Yeah, I think that was all I have. Rap, did
- 1:35:13you have anything? I just had a couple of people up for roles.
- 1:35:15It looks like Bill Scars Guard Stellan's son, and Barry Keegan. I'm not
- 1:35:23sure if I'm saying that right. We're considered for the role of Austin Butler's
- 1:35:28role Barry Cogan. I think it's Cogan, but I also don't know.
- 1:35:33I think he would have been a great choice for that because he's an odd
- 1:35:38looking guy. So you get the same sort of like uncanny bald like with
- 1:35:43like added eyebrow prosthetics. He could have pulled that off very well, but
- 1:35:47he is smaller and scar Yeah, it would have been really fun to have
- 1:35:50a Scars guard in there as well. Yeah. And then I also saw
- 1:35:57that Sting who appeared in the original doing He turned down a cameo appearance in
- 1:36:01this film, but he did attend the premiere. I guess that's all I
- 1:36:08got. It's going to be pretty old now, right, probably staying anyway,
- 1:36:13it doesn't matter. Will there be a sequel? Judgment day. It
- 1:36:15sounds like they're going to do it, You bet you. There's roughly a
- 1:36:19thousand books, but I do believe they'll do at least one more. I
- 1:36:24feel like it gets pretty weird too, bro. I feel like it gets
- 1:36:29so weird. I feel like it truly enters an unfilmably weird just from my
- 1:36:32little bit of research I was doing without spoiling myself for like what happens in
- 1:36:36the Saya specifically, I think it gets pretty strange. No, it does.
- 1:36:42I read two more books after this, and then I was like,
- 1:36:45I gotta be out because it started getting extra strange. But aren't there.
- 1:36:48How many more are there? I think there's legitimately like fifteen or something.
- 1:36:54Oh my god, it's crazy. They start splitting into like different he goes
- 1:36:59to like different sides of the universe like this, this the Paula Trades line
- 1:37:03goes like ten thousand years into the future, you know, stopping at various
- 1:37:09points, and then there's another line. I don't even remember what they talk
- 1:37:12about, to be honest, is it all Frank Herbert or like? Was
- 1:37:15it like? I think so? I guess I don't know that for sure,
- 1:37:19because you know how I think it was him like Tolkien, you know,
- 1:37:23passed and then so like his son continued to sort of correct stories with
- 1:37:27It was like Similarian or whatever, like kind of all him. Though that's
- 1:37:30so much. I mean, it's like it's like Brandon Sanderson's like Misborn like
- 1:37:35series. I haven't read any of them, but I know that there's like
- 1:37:40like lowly seventeen years totally right. His son, Brian Herbert, teamed with
- 1:37:45another author to continue the story. So okay, his son and the other
- 1:37:49author produced seventeen more books, and Frank has six. That's three books.
- 1:37:57That's so many books. That's unnecessary. Too many books. Too many that's
- 1:38:02too many books, too many books. Hey, do you guys want to
- 1:38:06play a game? I'd love to play a game. Great, I did
- 1:38:09a starting five. You guys know how this works. I'll say the five
- 1:38:13actors' names. You ring in when with your name, when you know what
- 1:38:15the film is, all that stuff, all right, And so this does
- 1:38:21have a theme, and it usually has to do something with this movie.
- 1:38:26Yeah, yeah, we'll see. We'll see how you guys do. Okay,
- 1:38:30are you ready? I'm ready? I haven't done great the last few.
- 1:38:33I think bugs has taken me in the last at least two times.
- 1:38:38There's a few of these that are tough, but I believe in you guys.
- 1:38:43Let's go Number one. The first name, John Kazel, Okay,
- 1:38:50the second name, Robert de Niro. Who's that? The third name Diane
- 1:39:00Keaton, Oh my goodness. Number four Robert Duval Bukes, Bukes, the
- 1:39:10Godfather. That there it is. I feel like I shouldn't get points.
- 1:39:23You can get points for it from your internet. Yes, I heard it,
- 1:39:29he said, he said it right afterwards. Yep. Demiro is only
- 1:39:33in two so oh that makes sense. Yeah, So how many names so
- 1:39:39I've left? I have one name yep, Pacino, Pacino yep. Okay,
- 1:39:45so we got The Godfather Part two and Pacino. Nice. Let's go
- 1:39:51to the second one. The first name is Jaimin Huntu. This second name
- 1:40:00is Killian Murphy. Bugs Bugs, it's uh oh, kind of can't think
- 1:40:10of it? No or three? Oh no, I know the movie bugs
- 1:40:16cannot answer anymore? Driven Okay, Yeah, I wanted to say the first
- 1:40:23name again because I was is that is that? The is that the the
- 1:40:26black guy who like beautifully black gentleman? Okay? Cool? I was like
- 1:40:30this kind of place? Who that was? What is a stupid movie?
- 1:40:31Cause? Okay, Killian Murphy. Then we have John Krasinski. Yeah.
- 1:40:40Then we have Milicent Simmons, which probably won't help. No, it doesn't
- 1:40:44help at all. But then we have Emily Blunt. It's a horror movie.
- 1:40:50She's definite. Wait is it? Is it? Uh? Yes?
- 1:40:57The Silent Place, No quiet place, quiet place, quiet place. But
- 1:41:02say the second one? Oh, Part two Part two? Way I can
- 1:41:11Quiet Place, Part I don't get points for that that you're getting it.
- 1:41:15You're getting it the theme as well, because part two. So all of
- 1:41:23these are Part two until the end, because there aren't enough Part two movies.
- 1:41:30That's great. I'm proud of you. I'm proud of you for part
- 1:41:34enough to get it fleshed out, so that should help. That will help
- 1:41:39a little bit. I had Quiet Place from Jamon and I couldn't think of
- 1:41:43the name. You had it from Jamon. Yeah, he definitely nailed it
- 1:41:46with Killian though. That's like, see, it would have helped for me
- 1:41:50to have seen that one because I saw the first one, but I haven't
- 1:41:53actually seen it really good, and they're making a part three and I'm excited.
- 1:41:58Part three looks like it's I'm in story. Oh cool, See,
- 1:42:01I love I loved a Silent Place Part one, but it was one of
- 1:42:06those where like Ken's wouldn't watch it because she's not on with kids with kids
- 1:42:13and animals and stuff. There's a boohoo in that movie though. Yeah.
- 1:42:17So the first one I loved, but I didn't get a chance to catch
- 1:42:20the second one, so yeah, I need to watch it. Let's go
- 1:42:25to number three. The first name is Paul Jamatti Paul. The second name
- 1:42:31is Ken Jung. The third name is Ed Helms Riley Riley hangover part two,
- 1:42:42Boom. You have two names remaining Bradley Cooper, Yes, and Zach
- 1:42:48galfanekis boom. Three points for Riley. Nicely done, buddy, Thank you?
- 1:42:54So wait can it just be Oh? That is part two? Huh
- 1:42:58huh? Three points? I got it? Did I do something wrong?
- 1:43:02No? I just thought it was hangover to for some reason. Oh,
- 1:43:06all these are gonna be part two, Part two. Crazy. Let's go
- 1:43:11to number four. The first name is Julianne Moore. The second name is
- 1:43:18Woody Harrelson, hm hmm. The third name is Liam Hemsworth, Riley Riley.
- 1:43:30Oh damn it, it's gonna be hard. This is hard. Hold
- 1:43:33on a set. Can I let me have to formulate this in my brain?
- 1:43:35What the heck? How does this work? Is it the Hunger Games
- 1:43:46mocking Jay Part two? Nice? Dude, I would not have gotten part
- 1:43:51two. That was great that I have two names remaining, okay, so
- 1:44:01ah, Jennifer freakin' whatever her last Lawrence, Thank you God. I brain
- 1:44:11farted on her name the other day on something else too. I don't know
- 1:44:13why it won't stick. So Jennifer Lawrence, and this one's tougher. Five.
- 1:44:20Who else would you have? Probably three? But I don't know.
- 1:44:26I don't think I can. I can get it. You know his name,
- 1:44:30is it Peter? I always thought that, Yes, No, I
- 1:44:35don't know the actors name. His name is Josherson, Yeah, Josh,
- 1:44:43I want to so Riley got Law and Mocking j Part two. Yep.
- 1:44:49I almost thought you would go with it. I almost thought you'd go with
- 1:44:51President Snow, but I certainly don't know that dude's name off the top of
- 1:44:56my head, Donald Sutherland. The next person would have been Elizabeth Banks,
- 1:45:00right. Oh, you know there's a lot to choose from with that one,
- 1:45:03big cat. I was really thinking of Philip Seymour Hoffman. I feel
- 1:45:10like Julian Moore wasn't. I was trying to make it so you'd think of
- 1:45:14mocking Jay because there were so many of those movies. That's that's that's solid
- 1:45:16choice. It definitely got me there. All right, let's go to number
- 1:45:25five. The first name Michael Sheen, like. The second name is Peter
- 1:45:32Fastinelli or maybe it's Fetchinelli. Not sure how you say his last name.
- 1:45:40It's f A C I N E L L I. Oh yeah, how
- 1:45:44does the C work? And tell you interesting? Okay, Yeah, I
- 1:45:46feel like you could be Fetch but anyway, number three is here we go,
- 1:45:51Taylor Lautner, Riley, this is another one at the long title so
- 1:46:01like so like the uh yeah yes, highlight saga, Yeah, Breaking Dawn
- 1:46:18Park. Wow. Wow. I would have never gotten that's amazing. I
- 1:46:26screwed it up. I wouldn't have gotten that either. That I said Twilight
- 1:46:31yesterday. You take a nap after this, dude. These are really pulling
- 1:46:35all of the nerve endings right. Great, you have two names remaining,
- 1:46:39two names remaining well Robert Pattinson Yes, and Kristen Stewart. Three more points.
- 1:46:46Riley, you're doing very well. Bro, you're killing me having I'm
- 1:46:50impressed. Eliminated, Lauren, I'm impressed. No where are we after five
- 1:46:56ten to two? Riley, you are not math You're in it. No,
- 1:47:01no, no, I could I could drop the ball here. There's
- 1:47:04a there's a couple of hard ones. There's a couple easy ones. We'll
- 1:47:08see number six halfway through here. First name Elizabeth Shoe. The second name
- 1:47:16Tom Wilson. I don't know who that is, the third name Leah Thompson
- 1:47:27Bukes Bukes. Back to the Future part two, yep, very nice.
- 1:47:33Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd three points for you. Yeah, Elizabeth
- 1:47:42Shoe took over in the second one right away, but scared the girl?
- 1:47:46Is she the girl friend? Yeah? Oh god, I haven't seen those
- 1:47:51movies. And the dumped that other girl, didn't. They also replace Crispin
- 1:47:56Glover? Was that right? As the dad? That a different Christpin Clover
- 1:48:00was still there? They replaced or did they? I thought it was I
- 1:48:06thought his dad was a different actor in the first one. Christmin Glover was
- 1:48:12either replacement or yeah. You could absolutely be right, but I think you're
- 1:48:16probably right. Let's go to number seven. The first name Maggie Smith Riley
- 1:48:29Riley. I'm sorry that's this is a rude one too. This is rude.
- 1:48:35Why didn't I think of this right? I'm so sorry. I could
- 1:48:39see it, and I could see it in Rob's eyes. You say it,
- 1:48:42So that'll be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part two. You got
- 1:48:47it. So there's a lot of actors to choose from. This is interesting,
- 1:48:53and I go until I get one wrong. Is that how this works?
- 1:48:56Or doing? So? You have four chances, four guesses? Yeah,
- 1:49:00okay, Emma Watson, Yes, that is the one I didn't I
- 1:49:11got Daniel Radcliffe. Yes, one more chance? Oh man, what a
- 1:49:16what a cast? Okay, I already feel good about getting what I got.
- 1:49:23I'm gonna go with like Robbie Coltrane. That's a good guess. I
- 1:49:27did not so many choices to go Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe. There are
- 1:49:35two more abukes, Ray Fines. Yes, that was the thing, and
- 1:49:41I dropped the ball on that one. You got two points. Damn nice,
- 1:49:46So you got h Emma Watson Daniel Radcliffe Part two. In hindsight,
- 1:49:58those were the obvious choices for the other two that I missed. For Grant
- 1:50:01though he's pretty good, most people would have picked for per Grant. I
- 1:50:06can't not pick Rafe and I can't not pick Alan Rickman. Obvious choices obvious.
- 1:50:14Now we get difficult, all right. Number eight. The first name
- 1:50:19is Ryan Styles if you remember him anyway, yes, I watched single night.
- 1:50:31Number two is Rowan Atkinson. Oh what yeah. The third name is
- 1:50:41Valeria Golino. Oh sure, yeah, you would recognize her. The fourth
- 1:50:47name is Lloyd Bridges, and the fifth and final name is Charlie Sheen Bugs
- 1:51:01Hot Shots Part two. Ye yeah, I haven't even heard of it.
- 1:51:08Yes, that is well before your time, Riley, I'm sorry, has
- 1:51:13a writing credit on that, I believe. Yes, so that was my
- 1:51:15last Part two. Full disclosure, you wouldn't know anybody besides the first two
- 1:51:23guys in the Karate Kid Part two. I did not use that or Rambo
- 1:51:28first Blood Part two because Part two, Yeah, you know any of the
- 1:51:33other names, so you get So that's okay. These ones are actually not
- 1:51:42Part two's. But there is a part in there. Okay, there's the
- 1:51:45last two in there. Okay. First name chloris Leachman Chlorus. The second
- 1:51:56name dom Delaise Bugs Bugs. No that he said it has a part I
- 1:52:04got screwed up. I'm sorry, you can just wait. I would like
- 1:52:09to wait. Then there you go. So we have Cloris Leachman and Dom
- 1:52:13Delaiz. The third name Madeline con God I don't know. The fourth name
- 1:52:20is Gregory Hines this is an older movie. And the fifth and final name
- 1:52:29is mel Brooks. Oh there's a name I know. Five Oh Bugs got
- 1:52:35its History of the World Part one, yesht it you got it? Yep.
- 1:52:43I was thinking because it was a sequel but didn't have part in it.
- 1:52:46I was thinking of five ol goes West an American tale. I was
- 1:52:53like, well, isn't that part in it? Dom Delawise and that I
- 1:52:56didn't know if Chloris was a Sorry, try a picture don Delwai's. I
- 1:53:00feel like I absolutely know his face, but I can't. He was u
- 1:53:03He was a stouter man and had a really tight beard, and he wore
- 1:53:10like a beret a lot. I feel like, yeah, oh mm hmmm,
- 1:53:14Okay, I got there. Yep, ye, all right. Last,
- 1:53:18where are we going into the last one? Bukes, where are we
- 1:53:20sitting? Oh? This is the last one. Riley has thirteen, I
- 1:53:25have nine. You gotta get it right away, and you could get it.
- 1:53:29I could, you gotta get it right away. The first name Vanessa
- 1:53:33Kirby, I know her. I actually know her name. Yeah, she's
- 1:53:39playing Sue Storm in the New Bugs, Bugs Bugs Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part
- 1:53:46one. He got it. Oh, but I have to get all these
- 1:53:49people. I'm not going to do that or names Tom Cruise. Yes,
- 1:53:58I'm kind of rude. I'm in here back. Yes, I'm kind of
- 1:54:00rooting for you. Oh damn Ving Rams, Ving Raims. You've now tied
- 1:54:08Riley. Oh thank god? Because I don't know the fourth one? Who
- 1:54:11would the fourth one be? I saw this, I don't remember anything about
- 1:54:15it. To the lady. Isn't Sarah Ferguson? It is not. I
- 1:54:25did not pick her. Do you know she's in it? Yep, she's
- 1:54:30like four, So it's not Rebecca Ferguson. But you do have a guess
- 1:54:35you have one hammer one? I guess I didn't. Dude, I haven't
- 1:54:39seen the last five mission. Impossible. Sure, that'll make it tough because
- 1:54:44she's only in this one. I don't think there's any chance unless she was
- 1:54:48shown. No, like, is it the Is this the most recent mission?
- 1:54:51I possible? Is it not? Yes? Frick, I don't think.
- 1:54:56I don't think I'll be able to pull that one out of the ether.
- 1:55:00Like all right, I don't think so, No, we're tied.
- 1:55:06Then how do we do this? Is this is not mon Han right or
- 1:55:10whatever her name is? No, her name is Haley Atwell. Oh hell
- 1:55:15yeah? I mean I love Haley at Well. Dude, she was like
- 1:55:17a yes, yes, she's smoking hot. Wasn't so you tied it up?
- 1:55:27That was impressive. Did you have tiebreaker? I do have one tiebreaker?
- 1:55:33Wow? So get ready? What seconds? We haven't gone to a
- 1:55:38tiebreaker, and I don't have enough of If I've ever been tied on this
- 1:55:42before, how does this work? Is it? Is it the same format?
- 1:55:44It's still it's the exact same format. It's just another movie. It's
- 1:55:46got a part, but it's not a part too. Okay, so it's
- 1:55:50the same thing that we just did. So now it's like literally this is
- 1:55:56but you can still steal names. I can still still name we could yeah
- 1:55:59either, Okay, I'm on the edge of my seat now, boys,
- 1:56:01oh man, all right. Number one is Mary Steenbergen. The second name
- 1:56:12Elizabeth shoe freaking. The third name Tom Wilson waits Bugs. Back to the
- 1:56:26Future Part three, that's it, Christopher Lloyd, Michael ber Fox. It
- 1:56:34was a whole winner. But Riley, that was so good, buddy,
- 1:56:40great job. My uncultured natured with older films bit me in the ass there
- 1:56:46at the end a little bit. Yeah, it's hard. That it's hard.
- 1:56:48Yeah. Part two is like maybe nineteen ninety, like it was.
- 1:56:53It's an old one and even then, nobody said, I mean to be
- 1:56:56fair, I love the back of I've seen the back for future movies like
- 1:57:01multiple times each, but I wouldn't know enough of those like names, you
- 1:57:04know what I mean, like to have snagged those off of those early guesses
- 1:57:10like that three was I watched that one more than the other two threes.
- 1:57:15L dude, the wild West setting, are you kidding me? Is so
- 1:57:19so sick so great? That was really good. You will tell us how
- 1:57:24we do our top five Prophecy movies draft. But that's just for our patrons
- 1:57:28here. Yep, love it, Love it well, Riley, thanks for
- 1:57:31coming on, buddy, it was you. I'm gonna go watch Doo two
