- 0:03Speaker 1: Wake up.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Up next to you.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way, it's Sonia
- 0:10Speaker 1: and Joakim on the shock circuit. Oh,
- 0:12Speaker 2: we just want to say
- 0:13Speaker 1: welcome back to school.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Plenty of sleepy faces in the morning today, Sonia. I know,
- 0:19Speaker 2: but at least they had a bonus day off, right?
- 0:21Speaker 2: So it's a short week. We're here with you every
- 0:24Speaker 2: step of the way with great prizes as well. Stay tuned.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Singapore's number one hit music station.
- 0:32Speaker 2: It's BTS to kick off your school week. New track there,
- 0:36Speaker 2: Swim right here on 987, Singapore's number one hit music station.
- 0:40Speaker 2: They were on fire with their comeback joki I'm, I'm
- 0:42Speaker 2: sure they're about to announce even more dates very soon.
- 0:45Speaker 2: In fact, when is BTS going to be in Singapore? Uh,
- 0:48Speaker 2: great question. December 17th, 19th, 20th, and 22nd. I know
- 0:54Speaker 2: there were a lot of, uh, of you listeners that
- 0:56Speaker 2: were actually DMing.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Asking, hey, when can we buy the tickets and all that?
- 0:59Speaker 2: I think the ticket details are not out just yet,
- 1:00Speaker 2: but they only announced that they're going to be here.
- 1:03Speaker 2: So given how they're in Singapore for about 6 days
- 1:05Speaker 2: and performing for 4 nights, you would think they might
- 1:08Speaker 2: be doing something at STB. Another music video maybe. Oh,
- 1:13Speaker 2: as in you don't know yet lah. I thought you
- 1:15Speaker 2: got some information. No, no, it's not confirmed yet, but
- 1:17Speaker 2: I'm just guessing, given how they're here for almost 6 days.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure 1 day.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Film a video somewhere here in Singapore. I mean, look,
- 1:24Speaker 2: STB has been locking in and doing some really good
- 1:27Speaker 2: work over the past couple of years with our artists. OK,
- 1:29Speaker 2: so STB, look, we've done Gardens by the Bay. We've
- 1:32Speaker 2: done the Singapore River. Bring BTS to Gimor or like a, yeah, like,
- 1:37Speaker 2: you know, a heartland place, right? Yeah, or Clementi or
- 1:40Speaker 2: Yishun even. I would love to see that represented, the
- 1:43Speaker 2: real side of Singapore, right? Jurong one time.
- 1:47Speaker 2: That's right. I can recommend a few locations. Go for it.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Welcome back to your first official day back at school.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Very eventful past few days. Um, there's been an update
- 1:57Speaker 2: about the fireworks in Gimbo, Joakim. Oh no. Yeah, I
- 2:01Speaker 2: remember we were just talking about it yesterday. Yes, and
- 2:04Speaker 2: it lasted for about like 5 minutes, which is quite long,
- 2:07Speaker 2: like quite substantial. But those 5 minutes will become a
- 2:11Speaker 2: very expensive.
- 2:12Speaker 2: 5 minutes is the biggest lesson 5 minutes can ever
- 2:15Speaker 2: teach you. Well, here's the thing, um, people have been found.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Two men aged 25 and 33, along with a 16-year-old teenager,
- 2:26Speaker 2: they were arrested just, um, I believe yesterday, between yesterday
- 2:30Speaker 2: and the day before, but very investigations are very early
- 2:33Speaker 2: right now, but it does show that they set off
- 2:35Speaker 2: multiple fireworks in the area.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Um, alarmed residents were all over the place because I
- 2:41Speaker 2: think they were like, what's that, what's that exploding sound,
- 2:43Speaker 2: you know, they were really shocked. If found guilty, and I,
- 2:46Speaker 2: I was always very curious about this, like, what's the
- 2:48Speaker 2: punishment for setting off fireworks? I never knew.
- 2:51Speaker 2: If they're found guilty of the unauthorized use of explosives,
- 2:54Speaker 2: which is what this has been categorized under, they could
- 2:58Speaker 2: be jailed to up to 36 months and fined up
- 3:01Speaker 2: to $50,000. Guys, this is an expensive lesson. All that
- 3:06Speaker 2: for 5.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, but I, I just really want to
- 3:10Speaker 2: know what was going through their minds. They wanted to
- 3:13Speaker 2: have some fun over the weekend. Yeah, but you have fun.
- 3:17Speaker 2: So you said 33, 25, and 16, is it? Yeah,
- 3:20Speaker 2: I wonder whether are they friends or cousins, but the
- 3:23Speaker 2: 33 year old, you should have known better even at 25.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Comes to feel young again, you know what I mean.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Does that make you feel young again? Again, if you
- 3:35Speaker 2: really want to do fireworks, please go to Johor. Yeah,
- 3:38Speaker 2: go somewhere else where it's legal, I guess, you know,
- 3:39Speaker 2: if not, just enjoy the ones that have been provided
- 3:43Speaker 2: to us, which was quite recently the fireworks two weekends ago, right? Yeah. Well,
- 3:49Speaker 2: stay tuned. It's 987. It's Ellen Walker with Emerson Flora
- 3:52Speaker 2: Monster right here on 987. This is such a classic
- 3:55Speaker 2: Ellen Walker song.
- 3:56Speaker 2: And the good news is you could be listening to
- 3:59Speaker 2: him in the flesh very, very soon. Alan Walker back
- 4:02Speaker 2: in Singapore April 10th to celebrate Marquee's anniversary. So yeah,
- 4:07Speaker 2: they always go big, you know, historically, if you go
- 4:11Speaker 2: and see Mary's like Instagram page or whatever, they announce
- 4:14Speaker 2: their lineups there, right? They've always
- 4:17Speaker 2: regarded themselves as the club to bring in all the
- 4:20Speaker 2: big DJs here to Singapore. Throwback to 2019. I wonder
- 4:24Speaker 2: who was the first MC on Mary's mic. Oh yeah,
- 4:28Speaker 2: it was me. It is our darling Sonny Chow. So,
- 4:30Speaker 2: hold on, but not hype man, OK? No, no, no,
- 4:32Speaker 2: you were welcoming the guest, you were officially opening inviting.
- 4:37Speaker 2: CEOs and all that. Who was it was that was
- 4:40Speaker 2: the starring DJ that was Tiesto? Yeah, um, I think
- 4:43Speaker 2: it was it ASAP. Did ASAP come here for the
- 4:47Speaker 2: opening was it Armand Van Buren? No, right, dude, I
- 4:50Speaker 2: can't remember, man. It was quite a while ago. 2019 opening. I,
- 4:54Speaker 2: I know it was a big name for sure.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Was it ASAP Rocky, no, no, no, sorry, not ASAP Rocky.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Ties and Afrojack Afrojack, right, right, right. No, but who
- 5:03Speaker 2: was the rapper that came? ASAP Rocky. Oh, I was right. OK,
- 5:05Speaker 2: ASAP appearance. There you go. That was, that was so
- 5:09Speaker 2: cool though, honestly, like, and you know what the funny
- 5:10Speaker 2: thing was, um, you know my friend, we have a
- 5:13Speaker 2: mutual Hannan, one of my close friends from back then, right?
- 5:16Speaker 2: So she's a massive ASAP Rocky fan, OK.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Um, during the opening weekend, I invited some friends to
- 5:22Speaker 2: come and have, have some fun, and you were there
- 5:24Speaker 2: on the first night. You weren't there on ASAP Rocky night,
- 5:26Speaker 2: I remember. So then she came and she said, Oh
- 5:28Speaker 2: my God, oh my God, I'm so excited, ASAP Rocky.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Guess what happens?
- 5:32Speaker 2: Just before he came on, because we weren't sure what
- 5:35Speaker 2: time he was gonna come on, OK? You know, guest
- 5:37Speaker 2: appearance sometimes they'll come on at like past midnight or
- 5:40Speaker 2: one or something. She said, I need to go to
- 5:42Speaker 2: the toilet first. She went, but because the queue was
- 5:46Speaker 2: so long, I think there were a lot of people,
- 5:49Speaker 2: she went, um, as she was in the bathroom, ASAP
- 5:51Speaker 2: Rocky comes on.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Anyway, shout out to Harper's Bazaar for actually covering the
- 5:57Speaker 2: 2019 opening. I'm gonna flip my laptop screen around. Look
- 6:01Speaker 2: at Sonia Chew in 1919. Look at my hair. My
- 6:04Speaker 2: hair was so much shorter back then. There was a picture,
- 6:06Speaker 2: but hey, killer outfit though. Hey, thanks, thanks, thanks. That
- 6:08Speaker 2: was a fun night. But anyway, um, coming up in
- 6:11Speaker 2: just a few minutes.
- 6:12Speaker 2: If you have a shout out, if you need a
- 6:15Speaker 2: song to really brighten up your day since it's officially
- 6:17Speaker 2: the first day back after the March holidays, we would
- 6:20Speaker 2: love to open up phone lines, your chance to call
- 6:23Speaker 2: through and have your voice heard on air that's coming
- 6:25Speaker 2: up next, inching closer to 7 a.m. which means you're
- 6:27Speaker 2: likely almost at school already for most of you.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I mean, I, I understand that for quite a number
- 6:32Speaker 2: of schools, especially maybe certain international schools or other schools
- 6:37Speaker 2: don't start that early. I heard some, some of them
- 6:40Speaker 2: start like 8 or maybe even like eight-ish, yeah. But
- 6:43Speaker 2: for Singaporean students in Singaporeans, most likely you'll be on
- 6:47Speaker 2: your way to school now and more or less gearing
- 6:50Speaker 2: up towards the mid-year examinations if you have it. So
- 6:53Speaker 2: we want to perk you up. It's been one week
- 6:56Speaker 2: and additional and an additional day that you've been away
- 6:58Speaker 2: from school.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Might have been extra difficult to wake up this morning.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I know the one thing that you definitely did during
- 7:04Speaker 2: your school holidays, you slept later. For sure. Yeah, 100%.
- 7:07Speaker 2: That's what we all did. So how about being the
- 7:09Speaker 2: very first person post March holidays to call through over
- 7:12Speaker 2: at 669-11987. Give your school a shout out and maybe
- 7:16Speaker 2: let us know what did you do during the March holidays. Yeah,
- 7:19Speaker 2: and tell us as well, like what song you want
- 7:21Speaker 2: to hear, who is it going out to, all that
- 7:23Speaker 2: and more the moment you get through the phone lines. 669-11.
- 7:28Speaker 2: 987 is the number to call. Phone lines are open,
- 7:31Speaker 2: welcoming you back to your official first day at school.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Loads of sleepy faces here in Singapore, but we know
- 7:37Speaker 2: it's very tough, especially for the kind of person where
- 7:40Speaker 2: during the school holidays you will sleep extra late. But
- 7:43Speaker 2: I'm going to make a very small prediction here, Sonia.
- 7:45Speaker 2: For the June holidays, a lot of maybe say the
- 7:48Speaker 2: football fans, especially the boys, might sleep extra late or
- 7:52Speaker 2: wake up extra early to catch the football games.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Potentially could be happening at 3 a.m., 5:00 a.m., and
- 8:00Speaker 2: 7:00 a.m. Oh my gosh, because it's staged in the US, Canada,
- 8:03Speaker 2: and Mexico where we have like a 12 or 13
- 8:05Speaker 2: hour time difference. So will you be staying up for,
- 8:08Speaker 2: or did you, I'll be at. So I'll live stream
- 8:11Speaker 2: the football on whatever channel I subscribe to Media Corp,
- 8:13Speaker 2: by the way, but you have to start playing it
- 8:15Speaker 2: before you even get to the office, based on the timing.
- 8:18Speaker 2: So anyway, we want to hit to the phone lines
- 8:20Speaker 2: right now. We always love hearing you on air, um,
- 8:23Speaker 2: getting your voice heard, dedicating a song to.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Maybe just yourself or your friends around you. Let's head
- 8:28Speaker 2: to the phone lines. Hello. It is. What's your name? Hi,
- 8:33Speaker 2: Tu Ying. Good morning. Which school are you from? Ang
- 8:36Speaker 2: Mo Kio Secondary School. Yeah, we haven't gotten to school
- 8:39Speaker 2: just yet, Joe. Quite near Bishan Park, I believe. So
- 8:42Speaker 2: Tu Ying, how was your March holidays? What did you do?
- 8:44Speaker 2: I went to Thailand. Wow, it's a beach holiday and
- 8:48Speaker 2: beach getaway. Did you love it? Did you have fun? Yeah.
- 8:52Speaker 2: And can I ask only because I went there for
- 8:54Speaker 2: the
- 8:55Speaker 2: DBS travel show. Long weekends, you mean? Did you go
- 8:58Speaker 2: up to the highest point of Koh Samui? Yes, yes,
- 9:02Speaker 2: with the Buddha statue and all that. So, so the
- 9:04Speaker 2: moment you go back to school today, did you wake
- 9:06Speaker 2: up with any like Monday or Tuesday blues? No. Oh, great.
- 9:10Speaker 2: That means you're ready to go for a new term. OK,
- 9:13Speaker 2: maybe one week is a bit too hard to adjust
- 9:15Speaker 2: your body clock like that. I guess if it's a month,
- 9:17Speaker 2: then it's a different story. Anyway, um, what can we
- 9:20Speaker 2: get you today? Any particular song and who is it
- 9:22Speaker 2: going out to?
- 9:24Speaker 2: Oh, OK, can I have any song by Megan Train now?
- 9:27Speaker 2: You got it. That's coming right up for you and
- 9:29Speaker 2: you have a great day at school, OK? Take care.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Bye bye.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Wake up.
- 9:36Speaker 1: next to
- 9:38Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way. It's Sonia
- 9:41Speaker 1: and Joakim on the shock circuit. Good morning.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Welcome to the show in case you just joined us.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Coming up, $5000 up for grabs just for you. And also,
- 9:49Speaker 2: is it too early for Bodorime? No, it isn't. OK.
- 9:52Speaker 2: It's never early for Brime. Never too early, right? All
- 9:55Speaker 2: the details and more coming up next this hour. Stay tuned.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Singapore's number one hit music station.
- 10:03Speaker 2: With a very early edition of Border Crime. So where
- 10:06Speaker 2: are we going today? We're going to Changi Airport, unfortunately.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Not again. I know. Why do people keep trying this?
- 10:13Speaker 2: Marina Bay Sands, Resorts World Sentosa, and Changi Airport. These
- 10:16Speaker 2: three places I'm very sure here in Singapore, it has
- 10:19Speaker 2: the most CCTV coverage everywhere. Oh yeah, that's for sure.
- 10:23Speaker 2: But anyway, please sing or jingle. Bodo, Bo, Bodo crime.
- 10:29Speaker 2: The chaotic streets of Changi Airport, not streets, sorry, not
- 10:34Speaker 2: exactly chaotic, not streets like yeah, what would we say,
- 10:37Speaker 2: chaotic corridors, ridors corridors. Well, it's chaotic for this particular
- 10:43Speaker 2: person because I'm sure he was trying his best to
- 10:46Speaker 2: get away with it. Um, a man, not from Singapore,
- 10:49Speaker 2: he's from Australia.
- 10:51Speaker 2: He's 54, OK, could have been, I mean, he's probably
- 10:55Speaker 2: younger than our parents, but 54, Someone's uncle, someone's dad
- 11:00Speaker 2: still arrested for allegedly stealing two windbreakers they're quite branded,
- 11:06Speaker 2: worth $842 over at Terminal one. Why would you attempt this, sir?
- 11:13Speaker 2: Because he got caught pretty much almost immediately.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Um, police were alerted to the case of shop theft of,
- 11:19Speaker 2: of the two windbreakers that were worth almost $1000 right?
- 11:22Speaker 2: And it was in broad daylight. It was like in
- 11:24Speaker 2: the morning. So criminals might think, oh, it's Changi Airport.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Everyone's busy, you know, passengers are going up and down,
- 11:31Speaker 2: maybe the police won't be checking me, but no, they
- 11:33Speaker 2: are always watching. Yeah, they are. So they immediately pulled
- 11:37Speaker 2: up CCTV footage which took them, I'm sure just a
- 11:40Speaker 2: few minutes to figure out.
- 11:42Speaker 2: And then officers from the airport police division immediately identified
- 11:45Speaker 2: the guy who um was observed apparently leaving the outlet
- 11:49Speaker 2: with the unpaid items. They arrested him immediately before he
- 11:52Speaker 2: even departed Singapore. So, very quick, very swift, um, don't
- 11:57Speaker 2: try anything stupid in Changi Airport. That's the worst possible
- 12:00Speaker 2: place to commit a crime. And also I'm pretty sure
- 12:02Speaker 2: if the criminal did not take out the sensor.
- 12:07Speaker 2: The whole thing might have beeped, right?
- 12:09Speaker 2: But it didn't, I mean, they didn't say that it beeped.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I mean they apprehended him, but perhaps he did try
- 12:15Speaker 2: to remove the tags and stuff, so in Singapore where
- 12:20Speaker 2: you are CCTV, make sure they are. At least the
- 12:24Speaker 2: staff were alert though, because not every clothing item will
- 12:27Speaker 2: have that. I know that tag that you're talking about.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Maybe the more expensive items above a certain amount, then
- 12:33Speaker 2: they will tag it. I don't know. Maybe. Did they
- 12:35Speaker 2: say the windbreaker from?
- 12:37Speaker 2: The brand is right out there like it's boss. Yeah,
- 12:42Speaker 2: that one. Yeah, but two windbreakers valued at 800 plus.
- 12:45Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know whether they put that, you know,
- 12:47Speaker 2: sensor tag on, maybe just a price tag. But I
- 12:50Speaker 2: must say the boss doing very well in the golf market.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I'm sure people are buying their clothes and all that.
- 12:57Speaker 2: What a throwback, but still a great song. Little Mix
- 13:00Speaker 2: with Black Magic on 987, Singapore's number one hit music station.
- 13:04Speaker 2: On the topic of magic, Sonia, when we come back
- 13:06Speaker 2: here on the show, 10th of July 2026, another live
- 13:11Speaker 2: action movie to add into Disney's universe. And this one
- 13:16Speaker 2: stars Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Oh.
- 13:20Speaker 2: It's gonna be another Moana, right? It is. Oh, it is,
- 13:22Speaker 2: it is. Full details in just a bit. They just
- 13:25Speaker 2: released a trailer last night. Alright, all the details next.
- 13:28Speaker 2: July 10th, 2026, another live action movie to mark under
- 13:34Speaker 2: Disney's chapters when it comes to all these live action remakes.
- 13:38Speaker 2: And this movie, it turns 10 as of this year.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Moana from 2016. Love it. It's gonna be a live
- 13:47Speaker 2: action remix starring Dwayne The Rock Johnson. And if you
- 13:50Speaker 2: thought Aureli Cavello, who voiced Moana 10 years ago, if
- 13:55Speaker 2: you thought that she would reprise her role, no, I
- 13:57Speaker 2: don't think so because she's no longer the age of Moana,
- 13:59Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Yeah, I think, well, your
- 14:02Speaker 2: voice changes too, right? I guess. I think for her
- 14:04Speaker 2: it's OK, but, but the boy who did, um, Coco,
- 14:10Speaker 2: his voice became deep.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, um, so Moana will be played by Catherine
- 14:15Speaker 2: Laga Aya. Hopefully I'm saying her last name correctly. So
- 14:19Speaker 2: it's going to be another celebration of Polynesian culture. Love
- 14:22Speaker 2: it on our silver screens. Love it. Have you ever
- 14:24Speaker 2: tried Polynesian food by any chance? No. Yeah, so I,
- 14:28Speaker 2: I was curious about it because I went to a restaurant.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I can't remember which country it wasn't in Singapore, it
- 14:33Speaker 2: was overseas, but they did say, oh, it's kind of
- 14:35Speaker 2: like Polynesian food, and to which I was like, what
- 14:38Speaker 2: actually is
- 14:39Speaker 2: Polynesian food, I guess people might think the same thing
- 14:41Speaker 2: when they come to Singapore, like what Singaporean food, right? Um,
- 14:44Speaker 2: to answer your question, I'm not sure if the place
- 14:46Speaker 2: I went to was totally legit, but Polynesian food also
- 14:49Speaker 2: includes things like your poke, like poke bowls, something similar
- 14:53Speaker 2: to that, yeah, so that's what you can expect. So, uh,
- 14:56Speaker 2: the one thing that people are commenting about in the trailer,
- 14:59Speaker 2: and I agree as well, Dwayne The Rock Johnson, you know,
- 15:01Speaker 2: he voices Maui, and he's now playing Maui in the
- 15:04Speaker 2: real-life film, his wig.
- 15:07Speaker 2: It's a bit questionable that one. It's not nice, is it?
- 15:11Speaker 2: I think they spent all the money on CGI. Oh no,
- 15:14Speaker 2: they forgot to buy a proper wig for Dwayne The
- 15:16Speaker 2: Rock Johnson. No, the pro doesn't have a, a hair head,
- 15:21Speaker 2: if you know what I mean.
- 15:23Speaker 2: He just doesn't look good with hair. I mean he's bald,
- 15:26Speaker 2: so that's why he doesn't have a hair.
- 15:30Speaker 2: If that's even a thing, like, he looks better with
- 15:33Speaker 2: no hair. There's a small Easter egg of him saying
- 15:36Speaker 2: you're welcome, if you know what I mean. So go
- 15:39Speaker 2: watch the trailer and maybe mark this day down again,
- 15:40Speaker 2: 10th of July 2026. That's where the live action of
- 15:44Speaker 2: Moana gets released in cinemas. Now all I'm gonna see
- 15:46Speaker 2: is his wig, man. It's your fault. Please watch it.
- 15:49Speaker 2: We are minutes away from opening up the phone lines
- 15:51Speaker 2: for 987 Secret Sound. Still no luck so far and no.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Text from Boss Janice that says, let's start snowballing. You
- 15:59Speaker 2: reckon it'll be next week? Perhaps this week. I think
- 16:02Speaker 2: it's about time. Yeah, I feel so too, but I'm
- 16:05Speaker 2: very happy to share that in case you missed it yesterday.
- 16:07Speaker 2: The secret buzzer, it is on. So it could happen

- 16:44Speaker 2: call happens in minutes.
- 16:47Speaker 2: 87.
- 16:53Speaker 2: That sound.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Here we go. That elusive $5000. No one's won it
- 16:59Speaker 2: just yet. Maybe we might just snowball soon, but let's
- 17:02Speaker 2: give it another go today. I'm going to set some
- 17:04Speaker 2: rules here, exclusive to the shock circuit, Sonia. OK. When
- 17:08Speaker 2: you call us, you are not allowed to say two things.
- 17:10Speaker 2: The clicking of a pen or the hole puncher. Oh yeah,
- 17:14Speaker 2: these two have been set to death, OK. Think of
- 17:17Speaker 2: something else. Think outside the box. Yeah, you never know.
- 17:20Speaker 2: If you give us a fresh guess, you might just
- 17:22Speaker 2: hit the nail on the head when it comes to that, right?
- 17:23Speaker 2: Listen very carefully. Here's your secret sound.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And one more time.
- 17:30Speaker 2: You know what to do.
- 17:35Speaker 2: sound.
- 17:37Speaker 2: 87 secret.
- 17:42Speaker 2: That
- 17:44Speaker 2: Hey, good morning. This is James. Hello James. Happy Tuesday.
- 17:48Speaker 2: What are you up to today, man? Driving my wife
- 17:50Speaker 2: to work. We approve of that. The chauffeur.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Happy wife, happy life, right? That's what they all say. OK,
- 17:58Speaker 2: so what would you guys do with the 5K if
- 17:59Speaker 2: you really win today? Travel end of the year to Japan.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Why not? But James, just for getting through our four lines,
- 18:06Speaker 2: you're already qualified for the big grand draw. So congratulations. Fantastic.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Thank you. But let's one up them. Let's give you
- 18:13Speaker 2: $5000 on this Tuesday morning. OK, James, listen very carefully.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Here's the secret sound you have to identify.
- 18:22Speaker 2: James, what is the 987's secret sound? Uh, stapler.
- 18:28Speaker 2: You are incorrect. Your chance to play 987's secret sound continues.
- 18:36Speaker 2: That sound.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Only because it was a repeated guest. I didn't need
- 18:41Speaker 2: to text boss Janice. The answer is no. I'm so sorry, James.
- 18:47Speaker 2: So James, for context, Joakim and I don't actually know
- 18:49Speaker 2: the answer, but we've gotten this answer before, stapler, um,
- 18:52Speaker 2: and I think we tried to help our listeners in
- 18:54Speaker 2: the morning. A hole puncher and clicking of a pen
- 18:57Speaker 2: were said so many times as well. OK, maybe tomorrow
- 18:59Speaker 2: I'll ban staplers.
- 19:02Speaker 2: In fact, I feel like the stationary side of things,
- 19:05Speaker 2: I don't know whether it's even falling in that category anymore.
- 19:08Speaker 2: But James, we'll see you at the big grand draw, OK? OK,
- 19:11Speaker 2: thank you so much. Have a great day. Bye.
- 19:15Speaker 2: One guess win.
- 19:19Speaker 2: What's that? So just yesterday around this time, right, I, uh,
- 19:24Speaker 2: talked about my sprained ankle, remember, and how my family
- 19:27Speaker 2: actually found out and I knew that I was gonna,
- 19:29Speaker 2: gonna nag that, right? OK, but to be fair, just
- 19:33Speaker 2: for a moment they're like, how, why you never tell us?
- 19:35Speaker 2: Why never this that? It was funny because I posted
- 19:38Speaker 2: an IGS, um, just yesterday about an update that I
- 19:42Speaker 2: got so much response from and all these people were
- 19:44Speaker 2: just sending in messages, you know, my followers and all
- 19:46Speaker 2: were just saying like,
- 19:48Speaker 2: This is such an Asian parent thing to do because
- 19:51Speaker 2: what happened was after my parents found out, you know,
- 19:54Speaker 2: and nagged at me just a little bit on text,
- 19:56Speaker 2: they actually left a bunch of um
- 19:59Speaker 2: They actually left a bunch of uh ankle wraps and
- 20:03Speaker 2: counterpane and stuff over at my house. I called it
- 20:07Speaker 2: and it was super sweet because, you know, they just
- 20:09Speaker 2: kind of left it there on the coffee table and
- 20:11Speaker 2: then my dad sent me an instructional video on how
- 20:13Speaker 2: to wrap my ankle as well. So it's very cute
- 20:16Speaker 2: and yeah, like so many people responded to that story
- 20:19Speaker 2: that I posted up saying like, you see, our dads
- 20:22Speaker 2: set the bar so high that it makes it difficult
- 20:24Speaker 2: for us to date anyone.
- 20:27Speaker 2: That's not true. plenty of ladies as well. I would
- 20:36Speaker 2: say sometimes, you know, especially for girls, right, like the
- 20:40Speaker 2: kind of protectiveness is a bit different and I don't
- 20:42Speaker 2: think you understand it because you are not a girl, yeah,
- 20:45Speaker 2: a girl, you understand.
- 20:48Speaker 2: And, and I, I did subconsciously feel like I looked
- 20:52Speaker 2: for some qualities that my dad showed in my partner,
- 20:56Speaker 2: you know what I mean? It's just an example that
- 20:58Speaker 2: you see, right, in your whole life. And then when
- 21:00Speaker 2: you grow up, you're like, oh, I hope that someone
- 21:02Speaker 2: will also take care of me like this in the future.
- 21:04Speaker 2: So I think it's a subconscious thing, but yeah, I
- 21:06Speaker 2: had a lot of sweet response. So thank you so
- 21:08Speaker 2: much for that. I can envision Jeremy wrapping your ankle
- 21:11Speaker 2: for you. Oh yeah, he had to do it last night. Yeah.
- 21:15Speaker 2: I, I asked him to help me put the counterpane
- 21:17Speaker 2: thing also.
- 21:19Speaker 2: It's much better today though, to be fair. Like the
- 21:22Speaker 2: swelling has gone down. I can walk properly doesn't mean
- 21:24Speaker 2: go and walk or skedaddle. Please don't. I'm gonna what?
- 21:27Speaker 2: Since when do I skedaddle? Can you not insult my walking,
- 21:30Speaker 2: when you run? I mean, let's just sayaddle. I'm not
- 21:33Speaker 2: going to be participating in any Olympics meet anytime soon, OK? Olympics.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Wake up.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Good next to
- 21:41Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way. It's Sonia
- 21:45Speaker 1: and Joakim on the shock circuit. Good
- 21:47Speaker 2: morning. Thank you for joining us. Coming up in just
- 21:49Speaker 2: a bit, we'd love to open up the phone lines
- 21:51Speaker 2: and we have a lovely prize in store for you.
- 21:54Speaker 2: This one involves you if you're an EV driver, Sonia.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Oh well, that, that's me actually in 2026. Details next.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Singapore's number one hit music station.
- 22:07Speaker 2: About to open up phone lines. Alright, Sonia, so let's
- 22:09Speaker 2: ask your experience so far. How has driving an EV
- 22:13Speaker 2: changed your life? Um, it's, to be honest, saving me
- 22:16Speaker 2: a lot of money. I think I could not have
- 22:18Speaker 2: picked a better time to start my partnership with MG because,
- 22:22Speaker 2: you know, oil prices and all that going up, right? Um,
- 22:24Speaker 2: people have been trying to find the cheapest options to
- 22:27Speaker 2: pump petrol and all that. So I'm quite grateful because, um,
- 22:30Speaker 2: if you
- 22:31Speaker 2: You are used to pumping petrol and paying a certain
- 22:34Speaker 2: amount at the petrol station. It's quite refreshing to see
- 22:37Speaker 2: how much you pay just to charge your, your car.
- 22:40Speaker 2: You know, I don't drive as much as you, but
- 22:43Speaker 2: when I take a private hire car, for example, most
- 22:46Speaker 2: of the time now what shows up are the hybrid
- 22:48Speaker 2: Grab taxis, hybrids, and then on the roads, I see
- 22:52Speaker 2: a lot of BYDs. I mean BYD is really popping
- 22:54Speaker 2: up the market here.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Singapore. I'm seeing Teslas and other brands that you think
- 23:00Speaker 2: are actually fuel powered but they're actually EVs. So that's
- 23:03Speaker 2: why I think our friends over at LTA love them,
- 23:06Speaker 2: by the way. They are, they are doing their best
- 23:08Speaker 2: to help maybe say the SCDF, the firefighters here in Singapore,
- 23:12Speaker 2: touch wood in case an EV car catches fire. They
- 23:17Speaker 2: they want to help them identify it better.
- 23:20Speaker 2: So, and this is where the comment section here in Singapore,
- 23:25Speaker 2: very interesting. No, you have to admit, as Singaporeans, we
- 23:28Speaker 2: can be funny when we want to, OK? So there
- 23:31Speaker 2: is a proposed, not confirmed yet, ah, proposed design that
- 23:36Speaker 2: maybe those who drive EVs, right, their license plate, no,
- 23:42Speaker 2: please don't tell me. Please don't tell me it's gonna
- 23:44Speaker 2: be colored something. It might be shades of green.
- 23:50Speaker 2: So the first option, yeah, dark green plate with black
- 23:55Speaker 2: font font.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Second option, gradient light green with black font, and 3rd,
- 24:03Speaker 2: light green with black font.
- 24:06Speaker 2: And I, and I say this objectively, la, OK, looking
- 24:09Speaker 2: from the artist's impression, it's not the nicest, is it? OK, la,
- 24:14Speaker 2: can be better lah. Wait, is there another way of
- 24:16Speaker 2: going about this because, you know, sometimes, right, for certain
- 24:19Speaker 2: car colors, you just cannot clash, have a clashing color
- 24:23Speaker 2: for your number plate, you know what I mean? Imagine
- 24:25Speaker 2: if your car is like bright red and you have
- 24:28Speaker 2: a green number plate Christmas every day, every day.
- 24:32Speaker 2: That's a no for me. I mean, I don't really
- 24:34Speaker 2: like colors on my vehicle. Um, well, I, I do
- 24:37Speaker 2: know that at one point in time, there were some
- 24:39Speaker 2: car companies, I think,
- 24:40Speaker 2: I cannot remember which one, but uh I'll I'll tell
- 24:43Speaker 2: you when I do recall. They actually issued the number
- 24:47Speaker 2: plate EV and then your number and then a letter
- 24:50Speaker 2: at the end to indicate the 1st 100 of their
- 24:53Speaker 2: EVs being sold in Singapore. LTA. I, I feel like
- 24:57Speaker 2: this could be a better option. But then again, then everyone's,
- 25:01Speaker 2: a lot of people's number plates are going to start
- 25:02Speaker 2: with EV SEV 0001. Yeah, but how many can they
- 25:07Speaker 2: issue because there are actually a lot of EVs now.
- 25:09Speaker 2: So maybe that wasn't the most feasible idea. So I
- 25:12Speaker 2: actually googled this ways to identify EVs. Apparently popped up
- 25:18Speaker 2: and those who are driving EVs in Australia, they have
- 25:21Speaker 2: this little triangle that says EV that's bolted onto the
- 25:25Speaker 2: license plate. But but whether it's easily spotted, that's the question. OK,
- 25:34Speaker 2: so that they easily identified.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Then how the only, the only way is the color
- 25:41Speaker 2: of the number plate. I get why they went with that,
- 25:42Speaker 2: but ugly la.
- 25:47Speaker 2: What if I'm, I'm a minimalist kind of person. I
- 25:49Speaker 2: don't want any colors on my car. I just like it. Yeah, yeah. OK, well,
- 25:55Speaker 2: you know, why don't we crowdsource some ideas to, to
- 25:57Speaker 2: help our friends over at LTA, right? They're the ones
- 25:59Speaker 2: that are talking about this right now tuned in. Hello, LTA. Yeah, um,
- 26:03Speaker 2: give us a call 669-11987. How else would you think
- 26:08Speaker 2: it's
- 26:08Speaker 2: An effective and easy way to identify an electric vehicle.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Let us know, get creative with it in exchange, we've
- 26:15Speaker 2: got a lovely experience to Novotel Singapore just for you
- 26:18Speaker 2: to enjoy their Stevens' Sunday brunch for two. This is
- 26:22Speaker 2: worth $240. I call this the Vongole song. Yes. Oh yeah, Vongole.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Now you got me craving Pongole. We know we have
- 26:33Speaker 2: some good one, yeah. Anyway, we're going to our messages first.
- 26:37Speaker 2: We're talking about the identification of EVs moving forward. I
- 26:40Speaker 2: think this has been a conversation with our friends over
- 26:42Speaker 2: the LTA. How do we better identify EVs on the
- 26:45Speaker 2: road for safety reasons and uh some other concerns as well, right,
- 26:49Speaker 2: that they had? Come to our friends at LTA. We
- 26:52Speaker 2: help you take feedback. Yeah, we're crowdsourcing. OK, I want
- 26:55Speaker 2: to say good morning to Charlene.
- 26:57Speaker 2: As well as Jay. So they are separate texters, but
- 27:00Speaker 2: they both have the same idea. How about adding a
- 27:03Speaker 2: leaf emoji on the car plate? Oh, a leaf. That's
- 27:08Speaker 2: quite cute. Yeah, that's Charlene's text. And then Jay reads,
- 27:12Speaker 2: I think LTA should change the design of the carpet
- 27:15Speaker 2: with a leaf design in front or behind the plate
- 27:18Speaker 2: number instead of a whole green plate forming emoji.
- 27:23Speaker 2: That's also green in color, by the way, that emoji.
- 27:26Speaker 2: John says, How about keep it simple. Include a lightning
- 27:30Speaker 2: bolt sign on the license plate like the flash for EVs.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I like that. I like that because you know you
- 27:37Speaker 2: charge your car during cooling off days we can drive
- 27:38Speaker 2: our cars. This one, yeah, lightning bolt.
- 27:45Speaker 2: OK, how about, OK, my, my suggestion, you know, your cars, right,
- 27:49Speaker 2: usually there is, um, you're next to the number plate,
- 27:52Speaker 2: there will be, let's say the model name of your car.
- 27:56Speaker 2: For example, I drive an MGS5, right? So they'll put
- 27:59Speaker 2: like the S5 somewhere around there. It looks like a silver,
- 28:02Speaker 2: you know, plaque or something on your car at the back.
- 28:06Speaker 2: So most cars will have it, you know, whatever model
- 28:08Speaker 2: that is. Why don't they put the leaf badge below that?
- 28:13Speaker 2: Like a small one, so it's not so garish. Interesting, yeah,
- 28:17Speaker 2: but you get what I'm saying. Yeah, I do. I do,
- 28:19Speaker 2: I do. OK, we're collecting all your texts and your
- 28:22Speaker 2: phone calls in a while, I think I'm gonna call
- 28:23Speaker 2: Howard in just a bit. So stay with us here
- 28:26Speaker 2: on the circuit. Yeah, stay tuned. Back to the phone
- 28:28Speaker 2: lines and our WhatsApp messages. We're gonna get to Howard
- 28:30Speaker 2: in a short while, but first, more texts coming through.
- 28:34Speaker 2: How else would you identify our electric vehicles here in Singapore? OK,
- 28:39Speaker 2: one coming in from WL on WhatsApp.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Hey Sonia and Joakim, no need to worry whether EV
- 28:45Speaker 2: or not. Maybe like NRICs, EVs can start with T
- 28:51Speaker 2: instead of S.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Right. Oh well, the, the only problem is because with
- 28:57Speaker 2: the amount of EVs already on the road.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Um, there will be a batch that, you know, you
- 29:03Speaker 2: have to go and change it, right? So I guess
- 29:05Speaker 2: that's extra effort versus if you're just buying it now
- 29:08Speaker 2: and they already changed the rules. One coming in from
- 29:10Speaker 2: username Jim. Morning Sojo. You know those triangle plates that
- 29:14Speaker 2: new drivers have to paste at the back of the car.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Maybe LTA can consider having one with, I don't know,
- 29:20Speaker 2: some cute logos like a tree or an alphabet E
- 29:23Speaker 2: or something to make sure it's pretty visible. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 29:26Speaker 2: could be cool. And this way.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Don't really have to go in through so much effort
- 29:30Speaker 2: to go change number plate and all that, right? One
- 29:33Speaker 2: last one coming from Afia. Morning, Sonia and Joakim. The
- 29:37Speaker 2: artist's impression is so bad. Oh no, I hope LTA
- 29:41Speaker 2: will really listen to the ground. I suggest either a
- 29:44Speaker 2: small green charger icon on the existing car plate, a
- 29:48Speaker 2: green left border, or if LTA really likes green so much,
- 29:52Speaker 2: a green border lah. And she actually gave us an
- 29:55Speaker 2: AI generated.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Inspired by Japan. This is inspired by Japan. Looks like
- 30:01Speaker 2: the US, a little bit, yeah. But it's very cute
- 30:04Speaker 2: actually because, you know, they're they're all about the arts
- 30:07Speaker 2: and crafts. I see Gardens by the Bay behind that cute.
- 30:09Speaker 2: I like it. I like it. Yeah. Hey man, these
- 30:12Speaker 2: are great suggestions. Howard, what about you? What do you think, man? Right,
- 30:15Speaker 2: so I, I feel that the best way to handle
- 30:18Speaker 2: this is via the, you know, the ones that you
- 30:21Speaker 2: put on your windscreen you put it on the right.
- 30:25Speaker 2: just behind the OBU so you don't have to look
- 30:27Speaker 2: at it if it's an eyesore. Our friends on the
- 30:29Speaker 2: STDS can find it quite easily as well, and I
- 30:32Speaker 2: think the best part is you can design it however
- 30:34Speaker 2: you want, so it can be really cool. LTA designed
- 30:38Speaker 2: one they can crowdsource it or something and design one
- 30:41Speaker 2: really cool, and then, you know, everybody just uses the
- 30:43Speaker 2: same one, and they can do it. Out of curiosity, Howard,
- 30:46Speaker 2: do you drive an EV right now, EV? Uh, not
- 30:50Speaker 2: at the moment, but I do plan to do it.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Hey, you know, sometimes when people want to
- 30:56Speaker 2: make the switch, but they're not quite sure, they tend
- 30:58Speaker 2: to go hybrid first, then they go full EV, but
- 31:00Speaker 2: it really depends. I went 0 to 100. There was
- 31:03Speaker 2: some getting used to, but now that I'm more used
- 31:05Speaker 2: to like, OK, strategically charging whenever, it's quite easy. So, um,
- 31:10Speaker 2: hopefully that gives you some inspo, Howard. Yes, thank you. Alright,
- 31:13Speaker 2: have a great day, man. Bye-bye. On the back of
- 31:16Speaker 2: uh some news that they're trying to find ways to
- 31:18Speaker 2: identify EVs quickly.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Um, there's been a lot of interesting opinions coming out
- 31:24Speaker 2: because an artist's impression was actually released, to which I
- 31:27Speaker 2: think mixed reviews, lah, right? OK, lah, I won't say.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Majority of people don't really like it. Majority of them going.
- 31:36Speaker 2: It's not the most aesthetic. Yeah, yeah, I know. I
- 31:39Speaker 2: like the color green, but maybe not for a number plate.
- 31:42Speaker 2: It doesn't pair well with most colors. A lot of colors, yeah,
- 31:45Speaker 2: that's right. OK, we got a text coming in from
- 31:47Speaker 2: A who says, morning, Sonia and Joakim. The EV plates
- 31:51Speaker 2: you mentioned earlier is actually from Hyundai.
- 31:54Speaker 2: The 1st 100 EVs produced in Singapore. That was the one, yeah.
- 31:57Speaker 2: So I actually asked AI and the proposal they gave
- 32:00Speaker 2: me was quite practical where there is a lightning bolt
- 32:04Speaker 2: in green at the corner front of the number plate. Oh,
- 32:07Speaker 2: that's a, yeah, that's a good one. OK, yeah, that's
- 32:10Speaker 2: quite an interesting suggestion.
- 32:11Speaker 2: One more coming in, and I guess your name is Zaky. Zaky,
- 32:15Speaker 2: you say, morning, Sojo. Have you guys Googled Malaysia EVs yet?
- 32:20Speaker 2: I think the best way to do something similar to Malaysia,
- 32:23Speaker 2: or rather what we have currently in Singapore, using the
- 32:26Speaker 2: existing white font and yellow rear.
- 32:29Speaker 2: The EV in front of the plate number modification required,
- 32:36Speaker 2: is that what you mean? Like do you have to,
- 32:38Speaker 2: is it on the plate? Oh, OK. So you still
- 32:41Speaker 2: have to replace your number plate. This one looks a
- 32:46Speaker 2: bit high tech and high budget.
- 32:48Speaker 2: How about a battery indicator on the front and the
- 32:51Speaker 2: rear windscreen? A transparent LED strip or display embedded at
- 32:56Speaker 2: the top or bottom of the windscreen, showing battery status
- 32:59Speaker 2: in real time. Oh, interesting suggestion.
- 33:03Speaker 2: The only thing is that I think for, for our
- 33:06Speaker 2: friends at LTA if they can find a way to
- 33:09Speaker 2: just roll it out quickly would be best, right? Because
- 33:11Speaker 2: if you make a ruling about the number plates, it's
- 33:14Speaker 2: gonna take a while before everyone changes their number plates,
- 33:17Speaker 2: you know what I mean? But if it's a very
- 33:19Speaker 2: unpopular and they roll it out, it's shoved down the
- 33:23Speaker 2: driver's throat. That's why I said earlier on what Howard
- 33:25Speaker 2: suggested with the decal. I think that's the most fast, free,
- 33:28Speaker 2: easiest way.
- 33:29Speaker 2: To indicate that you're driving an EV, yeah, so that
- 33:32Speaker 2: could be, you know, at the lowest cost as well. OK,
- 33:35Speaker 2: touch wood, wood, in case there's an accident and if
- 33:38Speaker 2: the windshield or windscreen smashes, no detail to identify whether
- 33:42Speaker 2: EV or not. Maybe, maybe that could be, that could
- 33:45Speaker 2: be one of the reasons. But with the number plate,
- 33:48Speaker 2: if you cannot reared from the back, yeah, exactly.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Uh, lots to consider. And we have a winner for
- 33:57Speaker 2: today's prize. Like we always say, you know, this entire
- 34:00Speaker 2: week we've got a beautiful experience thanks to our friends
- 34:03Speaker 2: over at Novotel. Um, Steven's Sunday brunch coming your way
- 34:06Speaker 2: where you can turn your Sundays into a family vacation,
- 34:09Speaker 2: not a staycation, but decation. Why? Because they've got a
- 34:11Speaker 2: luxurious seafood buffet featuring freshly shucked.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Oysters, prawns, lobsters, live cooking stations, even a complimentary bottle
- 34:20Speaker 2: of Prosecco for every 2 adults, and this price is
- 34:23Speaker 2: worth $240. Now, don't forget, April 5th, the same weekend
- 34:28Speaker 2: of High Rocks and Two Time You, our friends over
- 34:31Speaker 2: there are having their Easter brunch special, so stay close
- 34:35Speaker 2: to them on.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Instagram for more details. Yeah, and if you have kids
- 34:37Speaker 2: as well, they've got fun activities like Easter egg hunts
- 34:39Speaker 2: and egg painting competitions. In fact, can I tell you
- 34:42Speaker 2: a fun fact? I used to love painting eggs. My
- 34:45Speaker 2: mom would actually empty out the, the egg white and
- 34:48Speaker 2: egg yolk by poking a small hole in the egg,
- 34:52Speaker 2: and then you can actually insert a chopstick so that
- 34:54Speaker 2: you can paint on the egg.
- 34:56Speaker 2: And I had so many, like I used to paint
- 34:58Speaker 2: so many Easter eggs. So cute. By the way, fold
- 35:03Speaker 2: them over at Noble Stevens on Instagram. But for today's winner,
- 35:05Speaker 2: let's give it to Howard who called us earlier.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Congratulations again. Now I really hope that you enjoyed this
- 35:13Speaker 2: one and we've got more for you throughout the entire week.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Not just that, but I really hope our friends over
- 35:17Speaker 2: at LTA will listen to us here on 987 and
- 35:19Speaker 2: then they'll do more on ground research and see how
- 35:22Speaker 2: to better identify EVs here in Singapore. Yeah. Other than
- 35:26Speaker 2: just using a green license plate. Yeah, I think they
- 35:29Speaker 2: should definitely take the creative suggestions from our listeners today.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Let's see. Cashi takes us tonight. Wake
- 35:35Speaker 1: up.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Up next
- 35:38Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way. It's Sonia
- 35:41Speaker 1: and Joakim on the shock circuit. Well,

- 36:32Speaker 2: which will be tomorrow. Yeah, I, I love that, you know,
- 36:34Speaker 2: and there's always something that you need to buy for
- 36:36Speaker 2: your home. That's for sure, right?
- 36:38Speaker 2: You're always saying like, oh, maybe I want to revamp
- 36:41Speaker 2: my home a little bit or upgrade some of my appliances.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Why not? This is the perfect time to do it.
- 36:45Speaker 2: I did not know this. Courts never closes and it's
- 36:48Speaker 2: open all year and as long as you order by
- 36:51Speaker 2: 3 p.m., you might get your item delivered within the
- 36:55Speaker 2: same day, not, you will. Yeah, there you go. So
- 36:57Speaker 2: make sure that you keep.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Work out because these items that are on sale, um,
- 37:02Speaker 2: you know, they're also going to be star buy items
- 37:04Speaker 2: that are curated by courts to make sure that it's,
- 37:07Speaker 2: it's just specially for you. So we're gonna play this
- 37:10Speaker 2: game called Over the Top or not. Over the top being,
- 37:14Speaker 2: it's a good thing. It's a good thing, yeah, yeah,
- 37:16Speaker 2: because courts, they are always over the top and that's
- 37:18Speaker 2: a fantastic.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Quality of theirs that we love, right to sales. So
- 37:23Speaker 2: give us a call right now, 669-11987. Here on the
- 37:27Speaker 2: short circuit, we want to help you offset at least
- 37:30Speaker 2: $100 off your next shopping spree with Kors. Why not?
- 37:34Speaker 2: Give us a call now. Two simple statements just for you.
- 37:36Speaker 2: You tell us if it's over the top or not,
- 37:38Speaker 2: and you win.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Good morning, Sonia. My name is Ranji. Hello, where are
- 37:43Speaker 2: you off to and how's your week going? My week
- 37:45Speaker 2: is going good, but just very tiring due to work.
- 37:49Speaker 2: There we go. Everyone is, but let's perk your energy
- 37:52Speaker 2: by giving you a very nice shopping experience, all thanks to.
- 37:55Speaker 2: We're talking $100 vouchers, my friend. Exactly. So is there
- 37:59Speaker 2: anything in, you know, at home that you might want
- 38:01Speaker 2: to
- 38:02Speaker 2: revamp or you want to buy anything new, anything at all?
- 38:05Speaker 2: I think I would buy a new console is getting
- 38:08Speaker 2: very old. Yeah, about 8K television sets. Perfect chance for
- 38:12Speaker 2: you to do so. OK, we've got two statements for you,
- 38:16Speaker 2: and you have to tell us whether it's over the
- 38:17Speaker 2: top or not. Over the top being it's a good thing. OK.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Are you ready for that? OK. Here we go. OK, Ranjit,
- 38:25Speaker 2: your very first statement involves me and Sonia. OK.
- 38:29Speaker 2: I start hyping Sonia's birthday on air two weeks in
- 38:34Speaker 2: advance with daily reminders. Is this me being over the
- 38:38Speaker 2: top or is this normal? It's normal.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Actually it's true lah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, even if it's
- 38:46Speaker 2: 8 months in advance, I remind you of your birthday
- 38:47Speaker 2: very soon. Yeah. OK. Ranjit, the next one is a
- 38:51Speaker 2: court-late statement. OK, listen very carefully.
- 38:54Speaker 2: You've just collected your BTO keys, pop into court because
- 38:58Speaker 2: it's up to 70% off, and somehow you leave with

- 39:09Speaker 2: Is this over the top or not? Over the top.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Why over the top for you? Why do you think so?
- 39:14Speaker 2: Because it's a good thing. It's definitely a great thing. Congratulations.
- 39:19Speaker 2: The $100 voucher, it's gonna be given to you.

- 39:51Speaker 2: you so much to 987. If you're a music fan
- 39:54Speaker 2: and maybe say a millennial or older Gen Z, I
- 39:57Speaker 2: think this year before National Day, a day before National Day,
- 40:01Speaker 2: all of us will be crying over at the Star Theater,
- 40:05Speaker 2: crying at the Star Theater. What sad band is playing.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Not just Sad Ben, but they are touring one final
- 40:14Speaker 2: time before they call it a day. I need to,
- 40:17Speaker 2: can you give me some hints? I wanna guess. I
- 40:19Speaker 2: wanna guess. OK, they have one song where if you
- 40:21Speaker 2: listen to, right, you'll definitely cry. OK, I can name
- 40:25Speaker 2: quite a few like different bands or artists that have that.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Just think a band that was really popular in 2013, 2014, 2015. OK,
- 40:34Speaker 2: are you talking like dashboard confessional like?
- 40:37Speaker 2: Goo Goo Dolls, this kind of era or what? Oh no,
- 40:40Speaker 2: it's our, our era. OK, our era. And the Sam
- 40:43Speaker 2: Willows and the Sam Willows actually covered one of their
- 40:46Speaker 2: biggest singles ever. What? OK, I'm at a loss. I
- 40:50Speaker 2: need to find out more. Full details in a while
- 40:52Speaker 2: on who's coming to Singapore one final time and touring
- 40:55Speaker 2: one final time as well in just a bit here
- 40:57Speaker 2: on the show. The 8th of August of this year,
- 41:00Speaker 2: the day before National Day. Stand by the tissues and
- 41:03Speaker 2: standby to hug your best friend.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Jokim earlier on, you said that it's something millennials will
- 41:09Speaker 2: know and even the older Gen Zs. Yes, it's sad songs.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Would you say that? Songs that if you listen to
- 41:16Speaker 2: while on a heartbreak, you'll definitely have a breakdown. OK, OK.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Are you ready? Yes. For one last time, they are
- 41:22Speaker 2: touring the world before they call it a day. Caer line.
- 41:26Speaker 2: All I want is nothing more. See you walk right back.
- 41:31Speaker 2: My door. So this is your emo song, is it?
- 41:35Speaker 2: That's the kind of song where if you break up
- 41:36Speaker 2: with someone or if your crush rejects you, right? Yeah,
- 41:39Speaker 2: you listen, you confirm cry. Well, when I broke up previously,
- 41:43Speaker 2: I listened to Toxic by Britney Spears, and I felt better. Yeah, OK,
- 41:47Speaker 2: depends on the circumstance. OK, true, true. So I think
- 41:50Speaker 2: our friends over at Live Nation, they have posted some
- 41:52Speaker 2: ticket sales dates. 30th of March is the artist pre-sale.
- 41:57Speaker 2: And I think 31st is MasterCard and the 1st of
- 42:00Speaker 2: April is the Live Nation pre-sale. 2nd of April is
- 42:04Speaker 2: general sales. But isn't the venue kind of like smaller,
- 42:07Speaker 2: more intimate theater, I think it's only one night. Yeah,
- 42:10Speaker 2: maybe about 6000 people. Wow, OK, well, hopefully you get
- 42:13Speaker 2: your tickets if you really, really want to catch in action.
- 42:16Speaker 2: For the last time, I can't believe it. An end
- 42:18Speaker 2: of an era. So the countdown begins because we have
- 42:22Speaker 2: a very special announcement just for you. If you followed
- 42:26Speaker 2: us on the shock circuit out at sea on the
- 42:28Speaker 2: Disney adventure, you would know that we did some shopping, right?
- 42:32Speaker 2: And we did do on TikTok Live as well, we
- 42:34Speaker 2: did mention um that we wanted to do some shopping
- 42:37Speaker 2: for you.
- 42:38Speaker 2: But what you may not know is what we eventually
- 42:41Speaker 2: bought and what is being stored in the office right now.
- 42:44Speaker 2: So giving you a heads up, tell your family, tell
- 42:46Speaker 2: your kids, Friday morning, be on standby on 987 and
- 42:51Speaker 2: our social media pages because we're gonna drop a video
- 42:55Speaker 2: about all that went in our Disney bag. And it's
- 42:59Speaker 2: not just one bag. I'm just saying I'm looking at
- 43:01Speaker 2: it right now, it's several bags like 4 or 5.
- 43:04Speaker 2: So we cannot wait. Please stay very close to 987's
- 43:08Speaker 2: socials as well and our show, of course, in the morning.
- 43:11Speaker 2: More details very soon. Well, this is the point that
- 43:13Speaker 2: I leave you, Joe, for the next two days. Where
- 43:16Speaker 2: are you going? I just got a very, what do
- 43:18Speaker 2: you mean again? I hardly go anywhere. Take me with you.
- 43:21Speaker 2: I hardly, you realize that you take way longer trips
- 43:23Speaker 2: than I do, right? That's true. Put me in your luggage,
- 43:26Speaker 2: take me with you. No, no, no, I'm, I'm just
- 43:28Speaker 2: off for a short one to Phuket for a while.
- 43:29Speaker 2: trip, but I'll keep you updated for sure, and I
- 43:32Speaker 2: think I'll be meeting some cool people from around the
- 43:35Speaker 2: region and the world, so it'll be quite fun. But um, I'll,
- 43:38Speaker 2: I'll update you and keep you in the loop on socials,
- 43:41Speaker 2: but I'll be back on Friday, where we actually have
- 43:43Speaker 2: a big announcement to make on a giveaway of a
- 43:46Speaker 2: shopping spree we did on a Disney adventure. I can
- 43:48Speaker 2: only hope nobody wins 987 Secret Sound while I'm tomorrow
- 43:51Speaker 2: and on Thursday. That's quite sad. Yeah, I don't want
- 43:54Speaker 2: to miss it. I don't want to miss it.
