Transcript
- 0:10Good morning. This is DeProgram with Ted Rall
- 0:13and Jamarl Thomas. Today, we will be talking about
- 0:16the president's insane speech at the United Nations
- 0:19in which he threatened to annihilate Iran. We'll
- 0:22be talking about the ICE officer who shot a Venezuelan
- 0:25guy in Austin over the weekend, but mysteriously
- 0:29decided to turn off his body camera. And this
- 0:31was after he hit the dude with his unmarked car.
- 0:35Shockingly, the guy didn't know he was an ICE
- 0:37officer. The Trump administration is kicking
- 0:40750,000 Americans off their Obamacare, so they
- 0:45will have no health care going into the midterm
- 0:47elections. And this is the two-hour show because
- 0:50it's Wednesday. We go 9 to 11 Eastern Time. Thanks
- 0:54for joining us. Emphasis on your questions and
- 0:58comments in the second hour of the show. Good
- 1:00morning, Jamarl. How are you? I'm doing okay.
- 1:03Long time no see. How you doing? You had 26 minutes,
- 1:06I think. I know, right? Yeah, I was on. I had
- 1:09the pleasure to be a guest on your show. Always
- 1:11fun. It's funny because it's just a different
- 1:14dynamic. Yeah, I got to be honest. Typically,
- 1:18the show covers foreign policy. But when Donald
- 1:19Trump is giving speeches and stuff like that,
- 1:21it immediately feeds into the news cycle.
- 1:24So it kind of just works. And your historical
- 1:27context is just fantastic. Oh, thank you. You
- 1:30can be like, yeah, back in 1922, President so-and-so
- 1:33did this, this, this. And I'm just sitting
- 1:35there like, wow. It's so much like Teapot Dome.
- 1:41I'm hurt, JT. I have never once been a guest
- 1:43on your show. I am so hurt. I'm hurt to my soul.
- 1:47Listen, I may be like a Klingon in many ways.
- 1:51But I do have tear ducts. And there are times
- 1:53I cry myself to sleep. I think you might be...
- 1:59That might be Sonali lighting right now. Light
- 2:04Sonali. L-I-T-E. Oh, did y'all see the shirt
- 2:09that Tripp made? No, I haven't seen it yet. Take
- 2:13a look at the chat real quick. Okay. Well, okay.
- 2:18Oh, there it is. Okay. Well, okay. Oh yeah. You're
- 2:24a software engineer, JT. You can do this. $29.
- 2:28$29. All right. We'll show it to the, we'll show
- 2:33it to the fans. Is it up on the, is it
- 2:35up on the. Yeah. He says the shirt is
- 2:39live on the website. So yeah. All right. Let
- 2:40me go ahead and just remind everyone that we
- 2:42do sell merch here. So if you want official
- 2:46we're doing it. Do I still have the merch thing
- 2:49here? Where is that? Is that ICE agent deporting
- 2:52a cow? Is that what I'm looking at? Yes, yes, yes.
- 2:56Yes, yes, yes. Oh, there it is. Yeah. Okay. We have
- 2:59so many banners here. The merch, the merch site
- 3:01is deprogrammed.myspreadshop.com. I'm not a
- 3:05fan of the word Spreadshop. I don't know how
- 3:09drunk you would have to be when you were starting
- 3:10your business to start it out to be like, I know,
- 3:13we'll call it Spreadshop because all the good
- 3:15URLs are taken. Oh, Spreadshop. Spreadshop. Like
- 3:19my spread. I bet all the good names were taken.
- 3:22I know how that goes. Spreadshop. Okay, so guys,
- 3:27if you have questions, comments, whatever, the
- 3:29second hour is especially the place to send those.
- 3:32But hell, don't wait. We'll take them anytime.
- 3:35Rumble Rants and the Super Chats on YouTube are
- 3:39especially appreciated. Just to remind everyone,
- 3:43there was really kind of not really confusion
- 3:46here. But on YouTube, you can subscribe to the
- 3:49show and support us for $5 a month. For $10,
- 3:52you get thanked in the outro. You probably
- 3:54noticed that if you stuck around until the end
- 3:56of the show. And for $20 a month, you get access
- 3:59to exclusive content, including but not limited
- 4:02to a call-in chat. And I think I'm probably going
- 4:06to start for people who do it for more than,
- 4:09say, six months in a row, I'll throw in my next
- 4:11book for free, signed, mailed anywhere in the
- 4:14United States. It's a cartoon collection talking
- 4:17about, it's called No More Mr. Nice Guy. It's
- 4:20about cartoons about empire, foreign policy,
- 4:24imperialism, exceptionalism, and other U.S.
- 4:27bullshit. Very cool. So I'm looking forward to
- 4:32that. The book's almost done. I'm putting it
- 4:34together now. So, all right. Where shall we start?
- 4:39Shall we start with the UN speech by the glorious
- 4:42president of the United States? I feel like that
- 4:45is the obvious place to begin, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:48Oh, you want me to start? Oh, yeah. You've been
- 4:51up for two hours, yeah. Donald Trump goes to
- 4:54the United Nations. All of the other world leaders
- 4:57are giving their speeches. He meets Xi Jinping
- 4:58tomorrow. But he gives his speech. And this is
- 5:02America. Trumpet it to the world, right? And
- 5:08it is utterly deranged. Meaning Trump has given
- 5:12deranged speeches before, but this is a level
- 5:14of deranged that is breathtaking. Donald Trump
- 5:17threatened, well, for one, changing super AI
- 5:19to super intelligence, as if the rest of the
- 5:22world is going to be like, oh, wait. Super intelligence.
- 5:24I need to, super intelligence. Nobody's
- 5:26going to use that term ever, right? No. Plus
- 5:29to me, SI is always going to be Sports Illustrated.
- 5:32Exactly. Yes. Swimsuit edition, ideally. The
- 5:36only issue I would ever be tempted to pick up,
- 5:39but yeah. Exactly. But somebody picked it up.
- 5:42But no, the speech was utterly deranged. Donald
- 5:44Trump threatened to annihilate Iran, meaning
- 5:47every last man, woman, and child in Iran, in
- 5:51what is really being called a nuclear war or
- 5:55nuclear weapon threat. He even made the point
- 5:58of saying, do I drive them into hell? with no
- 6:02hope of their future something. It was an utterly
- 6:06deranged speech. And some people even make the
- 6:08point of saying it broke UN guidelines or it
- 6:10broke UN rules in regards to the way the speeches,
- 6:13because you can't necessarily sit on the UN and
- 6:14make threats against other nations. Basically,
- 6:16I'm going to nuclear, I'm going to nuke you to
- 6:19other nations. No, it was an utterly outrageous
- 6:22speech. And I think you point on something that
- 6:25I think is really interesting. Trump has done
- 6:28this so many times, it becomes the boy who cried
- 6:30wolf. OK, he threatens to nuke them every other
- 6:33week. He's been at war. He's losing this war.
- 6:36Everybody on the world stage knows he's losing
- 6:39this war. And does that feed into this kind of
- 6:41amplified rhetoric that is coming out of him?
- 6:44Because he knows he is completely impotent to
- 6:46do anything about the fact that Iran is - I mean,
- 6:48to put a fine point on it, on your point, at
- 6:52the very exact time that he's giving that speech,
- 6:55U.S. representatives had requested and were
- 6:58receiving a three-hour meeting with their Iranian
- 7:01counterparts on the sidelines of the same U.N.
- 7:04meeting, right? To try to ask what Iran's current
- 7:08terms are to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. And
- 7:12he told them. They were very clear. Move your
- 7:15military. All wars stop. Basically, it's the
- 7:18MOU. They haven't necessarily deviated from the
- 7:20MOU. All wars stop. We want recompense, meaning
- 7:24we want our frozen assets back. We want the U.S.
- 7:28military stop threatening and attacking.
- 7:30We want the U.S. out of the Middle East, too.
- 7:32And we want the U.S. out of the Middle East.
- 7:33By the way, as an American, I think it would
- 7:36be good for America if we were out of the Middle
- 7:39East. You know what's crazy? The craziest thing
- 7:42about this, as a former Trump supporter, one
- 7:46of the things I supported him on is that he promised,
- 7:49he said, I'm the one who can keep you out of
- 7:51nuclear war. I'm the one who can keep you out
- 7:53of World War III. I'm the one who can make peace.
- 7:56We can kill the deep state. We can do all these
- 7:58things. And now it's just like Hillary Clinton
- 8:02is in the Oval Office, only she looks worse.
- 8:08I don't understand. I mean, the man should have
- 8:13been, he should be impeached on this alone. By
- 8:17the Republicans. Yes, and arrested. Agreed. I
- 8:23mean, you cannot just threaten death on 90 million
- 8:28people. Men, women, children. And meanwhile,
- 8:33you have these so-called Christian leaders who
- 8:36are up there just clapping like seals. As the
- 8:39president of the only country in the world that's
- 8:42ever used nuclear weapons and has its second
- 8:45largest arsenal. He should be in prison this
- 8:50morning. He should wake up in prison this morning.
- 8:54And I'm disgusted. That's why I'm not a Republican
- 8:56anymore. They disgust me to no end. Yeah, they
- 9:00watch it and have nothing to say. The president
- 9:02is threatening annihilation of another country.
- 9:04And what's wild about it, the media is so wild
- 9:06about this. The level of hypocrisy that
- 9:08is built into the media. They will, how do you
- 9:12run the speech without, meaning how does the
- 9:16speech happen without every media organization
- 9:18on the same page saying the president needs to
- 9:22be taken out of office? He's lost his mind. This
- 9:25is not what America is. You would think that
- 9:27they would at least keep up the pretense that
- 9:29this is not what America does. I mean, Kaja
- 9:31Kallas is over there giving a lecture to Foreign
- 9:33Minister Araghchi as Trump is on stage making
- 9:37this speech about annihilating an entire population.
- 9:41It's like, okay, don't talk to me. You guys gave
- 9:43up Denmark. I mean, you guys gave up Greenland.
- 9:45I don't want to hear anything from you. You're
- 9:46powerless in this situation. And your hypocrisy
- 9:49is a stench that is just... Yeah, no, it's putrid.
- 9:56And the thing is, there's
- 9:58not, the establishment just doesn't
- 10:01know what to do about Donald Trump, right? I
- 10:05mean, editorial, I can just imagine the editorial board of the
- 10:10New York Times meeting. It's like,
- 10:12that was a crazy speech. Yeah, should we
- 10:15say anything? I don't know. We've done
- 10:17it before. Nobody really cared. Should we do
- 10:19it again? We can, but it'll just
- 10:22make, it'll be just another impotent statement,
- 10:25right? That's what they'll be saying. They're
- 10:27not wrong. Republicans in Congress
- 10:30are like, come on, we can't come out against
- 10:32our own president as we go into the midterms.
- 10:34Although, actually, it might strengthen them.
- 10:37It would be better for them to do so. For them.
- 10:39Yeah, from a realpolitik point of view. You
- 10:43know, this, look. You know what this is? Honestly,
- 10:45there's a remedy here. It's the 25th Amendment.
- 10:48This is where and the 25th Amendment, from a
- 10:51Republican point of view, solves a lot of issues.
- 10:55I mean, can you I can imagine the campaign ads.
- 10:58I mean, it's a little late in the game and they
- 11:00should have done this earlier. But imagine if
- 11:02today J.D. Vance said after, with
- 11:05after difficult consideration and thoughts and
- 11:11prayers and blah, blah, blah. I've decided to
- 11:13invoke the 25th Amendment and have received a
- 11:15majority vote from the United States Cabinet
- 11:17to temporarily, because that's the language of
- 11:20the amendment, remove the president from as acting
- 11:23president. I will be assuming the role as acting
- 11:26president while we figure out what to do about
- 11:29Donald Trump. We all saw that speech. The United
- 11:32States has a special responsibility to the rest
- 11:35of the world to be sober and calm and rational.
- 11:41And even though we continue our conflict against
- 11:43Iran, there are certain lines that can't be crossed.
- 11:47And President Trump leapt over that, not for
- 11:50the first time. I think it's like, and here's
- 11:54the ad that I imagine the Republican National
- 11:56Committee running. It's like, for four years
- 11:59they show images of doddering Joe Biden.
- 12:03The Democratic Party covered up the cognitive
- 12:06inabilities of Joe Biden that forced him to withdraw
- 12:09from the race just two years ago. Republican
- 12:12Party isn't like that. We take out our own trash.
- 12:16And even when it hurts us, even when it's difficult
- 12:19for us, we know it might cost us a few seats
- 12:24in the midterm elections. But that's OK, because
- 12:27for the GOP, the USA comes first. I would love
- 12:33that. That's effective, right? I mean, as a lefty,
- 12:37I'd be like, whoa, that's good. That would destroy
- 12:41the Republican Party. That would literally destroy
- 12:45the Republican Party. Look, I agree with it.
- 12:47They should do it because it's in the best interest
- 12:50of America for them to do it. But man, and bring
- 12:53in Robby. Where's Robby? Because I want to
- 12:55get his take on this. The reason why I said this
- 12:58would destroy the Republican Party is because
- 12:59you have a good 20%. It's kind of like the Sanders
- 13:01thing. When the Democratic Party broke with Sanders,
- 13:04you got tens of millions of people who said,
- 13:07F that party. Me being one of them, by the way.
- 13:09And a lot of people who I was doing the YouTube
- 13:12videos and everything else with were on the same
- 13:14page at that party. I don't want anything to
- 13:16do with it. You would never get my vote. I will
- 13:18hate you forever, etc. The end. I think you'll
- 13:22get something similar that for Trump. I mean,
- 13:23keep in mind, there's a good 20 percent of the
- 13:25population where Donald Trump could murder somebody
- 13:26in broad daylight and they would act as if, well,
- 13:29I mean. They had it coming. They must have done
- 13:34something or they must do something in the future.
- 13:38Yeah. I guess my point is, and I want Robby's
- 13:41take on this, would this create a split of the
- 13:4410, 15 percent that would do anything that Trump
- 13:47tells them to do and believe anything that Trump
- 13:48tells them versus the other Republican Party,
- 13:50which would be enough to functionally destroy
- 13:53the Republican Party from ever getting elected
- 13:54in major office? Well, the split already exists.
- 14:00People who don't know, I produce Jeff Dornik's
- 14:04stuff in addition to this show and TMI. So he
- 14:07has a lot of these Republican guests on. It's
- 14:08just like, yeah, Trump is bad. Yeah, Trump has
- 14:11broke all of his promises. Yeah, Trump is a liar.
- 14:13But Republican, they come in November. And sometimes
- 14:17what Jeff will do is he'll let me pop on like
- 14:20y'all do here. And I challenge these people.
- 14:23Why would I vote for a hypocritical Republican
- 14:26when I can vote for a Democrat and get the real
- 14:28thing? I mean, seriously, I mean, what's... As
- 14:32you know, Democrats have often had their own
- 14:35version of that same exact comment. Oh, yeah,
- 14:37no, no, I get that. But these people, though,
- 14:39what they do is they play team politics. So then
- 14:41I'd like to just throw that hypocrisy card. I
- 14:44mean, we hit $40 trillion under a Republican
- 14:47Congress and a Republican president. But yet
- 14:49you say you're fiscally responsible. And yet
- 14:51here we are. So why would I... At the same time
- 14:56that Trump is promising to spend $1.5 trillion
- 14:58if the GOP maintains control of Congress. This
- 15:02last guy, this lady, she's like a libertarian.
- 15:07She's talking about how Trump is a restraining
- 15:13force. It's a restraining on what? A restraining
- 15:18force saying that she is a restraining force.
- 15:20Against the Democrats, I assume she means. Exactly.
- 15:22But then the point that... What, against the
- 15:24Democrats and their crazy Zionism? Oh, wait.
- 15:28Yeah, of course. So then what I pointed out is
- 15:31it's like, no, under a Republican administration,
- 15:34we killed over a million Iraqis with sanctions.
- 15:39Trump started and lost, by the way, a brand new
- 15:43war against Iran for the interest of a foreign
- 15:45country. But yet you say that you want to make
- 15:48America great again? So how do you square that
- 15:51peg? What accountability should the Republican
- 15:53Party have and Trump specifically for what he
- 15:56has done? Okay, so, Robby, what do Jeff's guests
- 15:59say? Well, the Democrats would be worse. I said,
- 16:02if you asked me to pick up which one of the turd
- 16:05would I rather handle? I said, it all sucks.
- 16:08How about I just walk away and just go play with
- 16:10Tucker Carlson's sandbox and y'all can just
- 16:12get smashed? Rightfully so. And it's also this
- 16:16split you're seeing here on the right is also
- 16:18happening with the Democratic Party with the
- 16:21populace on the left. So what people like you,
- 16:27and I know Angie Wong doesn't watch this, so
- 16:30who cares? Basically, these people, they are
- 16:37like Angie Wong, only dumber. Ooh. Careful there
- 16:43about my former co-host. Angie Wong is smart.
- 16:48No, she's able to at least make an argument. She's
- 16:50also really cynical. I mean, oh, incredibly so. I
- 16:55mean, but the point I'm trying to make is that
- 16:58both political parties? I always say if Angie
- 17:01woke up one morning and there was a giant poster
- 17:04of Lenin on the wall across from her house and
- 17:07red and yellow bunting all over the place and
- 17:10Mao Zedong posters hanging from the lamppost,
- 17:15she'd be out there with her hammer and sickle
- 17:17lapel pin and talking about how much she loves
- 17:20socialism. Oh, that's funny. Well, the point
- 17:25I'm trying to make is that both political parties
- 17:28have betrayed the American people. They both
- 17:29need to be replaced. And why should I reward
- 17:31them with a vote before doing the exact opposite
- 17:34of what they're putting into office to do? Agreed.
- 17:37I would love to get a politician just once, just
- 17:41one, who looks at the United States and the American
- 17:45people the way they look at Israel or NATO or
- 17:48their little war in Ukraine. Yeah. There are
- 17:53a few like that. I think Marjorie Taylor Greene
- 17:57is one of them. She's in Congress. She's out.
- 17:59Right, right. I think Bernie Sanders cares more
- 18:02about the U.S. Bernie Sanders just gave a speech
- 18:05talking about we need to work with the grassroots
- 18:08people in Russia and overthrow Putin's violent
- 18:10regime who's murdered 500,000 people. That's
- 18:13gay. Literally, I've been doing that. It's really
- 18:18gay. I got the clip. I didn't even play it for
- 18:20my audience. I was like, I'm so disgusted with
- 18:23Bernie Sanders. That's dumb. But, just
- 18:25in simple in terms of loving this country. But
- 18:28anyway, all right. But yeah, your point is taken,
- 18:30Robby. All right. So let's keep, let's digest
- 18:33here. We know what should happen here, but we
- 18:37know what is going to happen, which is nothing.
- 18:42Okay, so let's talk about the... As you point
- 18:46out, they may put out impotent articles, but
- 18:48what needs to take place is Congress behaving
- 18:51like a Congress that cares about... Impeachment
- 18:53proceedings. Yeah. I mean, it's and it shouldn't
- 18:56be. Although I don't think we have time for impeachment
- 18:58proceedings. I mean, as Scott Stantis always
- 19:00reminds me, one of the reasons that the Watergate
- 19:04Nixon was very popular and it took about two
- 19:09years or a year and three quarters to build the
- 19:12case slowly over time for the impeachment to
- 19:15the point where the whole country came on board,
- 19:18including people who had voted for Nixon and
- 19:20thought, OK, yeah, he's got to go.
- 19:23We don't have a year and a half. This I mean
- 19:25first of all I mean Donald Trump's going to be done
- 19:27in a year and a half anyway but I think events
- 19:32are moving too quickly. It's too terrifying to
- 19:35think of where I mean seriously September
- 19:4023rd, 2027. That idea scares me if this is still
- 19:46the president of the United States even with
- 19:48the Democratic Congress. I mean, he can still
- 19:52wake up one morning like Martin Sheen in The
- 19:54Dead Zone and say the missiles are flying, hallelujah,
- 19:57hallelujah, and there's nothing we can do. I
- 19:59have a question for you. This is something I
- 20:01woke up at 2 o'clock this morning. I was just
- 20:03thinking about this. This is a question to ask
- 20:05JT and Ted. Could we be looking at shortages
- 20:09and civil unrest in cities because trucks and
- 20:12trains are no longer moving because diesel is
- 20:14so unaffordable that you're just able to ship
- 20:17stuff? Did Trump then use that as a pretext to
- 20:20cancel the elections in November? So, guys, I
- 20:22was driving. I drove out to my dad's birthday
- 20:26party last weekend. And on the way back, I was
- 20:29driving through, obviously, through Ohio and
- 20:32through Pennsylvania on my way back home. I stopped
- 20:36for gas. Actually, I stopped to piss at a rest
- 20:39area. And there were tons of semis lined up along
- 20:43the road in a place that's not like an official
- 20:45rest area. It's sort of just an intersection
- 20:47off Interstate 70 in the middle of a cornfield.
- 20:52And while I was pissing, I was talking to another
- 20:55guy who was pissing, a truck driver. And I said,
- 20:59oh, do you guys spend the night here? And he
- 21:02goes, Well, not really. He goes, the price of
- 21:05diesel is now so high that our companies are
- 21:09kind of telling us to just sit still and don't
- 21:12go anywhere and just hang tight because the cost
- 21:17of operating the truck exceeds the profitability
- 21:20of running the merchandise and having it arrive
- 21:23on time. And I said, is that true? Even accounting
- 21:25for the late fees and everything? He said, yeah.
- 21:28So he's like where the whole he said the trucking
- 21:31system like nationally is starting to break down.
- 21:34And so I'd be interested in getting some experts
- 21:37on intermodal transport and interstate
- 21:41trucking, because it's a very obviously that's
- 21:44how most goods in this country move. But and
- 21:46I don't know if that guy was full of shit, but,
- 21:48it didn't seem like it. But I've read
- 21:51similar reports. I was at the gas station here
- 21:54in Kalispell and you've been here. It's a small
- 21:57town, deep red. It's northwest Montana, for God's
- 22:01sake. Out in the middle of nowhere. A lot of
- 22:02cowboy hats. No irony. Seriously worn. Even bolo
- 22:11ties, a few of those. It's all ranching country
- 22:14here. If you get two minutes outside of town,
- 22:17it's all ranches. They're dying. All over the
- 22:21gas pumps, there are pictures of Trump saying,
- 22:24I did this. Wow. Yeah. By the way, I saw some
- 22:28stickers like that. I took photos. I think I
- 22:30put it in the chat of those stickers on a gas
- 22:33pump. This is like Washington Court House, Ohio,
- 22:39and it's kind of like off US 35 at the intersection
- 22:42of I-71. They have all sorts of hillbilly gear
- 22:45that my son loves me to pick up because he wears
- 22:48it ironically. These colors don't run and that
- 22:52kind of shit. And that... That's as red as it
- 22:56gets, right? It's as red as the banner below
- 22:58the screen here. And the stickers were all on
- 23:02the pump that said Trump did this. Now, that's
- 23:05no big deal. But they'd been there for a while
- 23:07and nobody had attempted to pick them off. To
- 23:10me, that said a lot. They should put that everywhere.
- 23:13At every gas station they could find, they should
- 23:14put Trump did this, Trump did this, Trump did
- 23:16this. Here's the thing, though. Gas
- 23:19in Richmond jumped up to $4.32. And I remember
- 23:22I was in the car. And I think I said, God is
- 23:24good. Just don't be driving a fucking camper
- 23:31or something. Yeah. Yeah. Well, the reason why
- 23:33I say that is it's like, dude, we are killing
- 23:37people. And it's like, I don't think it was like,
- 23:40God damn, the gas was going up. And what's wild
- 23:43is many Americans don't know why. I remember
- 23:46I was listening to a conversation
- 23:49between these women. And they were pointing out
- 23:52like, yeah, food has gone up. I can't believe
- 23:55that a Whopper costs eight bucks and this has
- 23:58gone up in gas. And I was like, it's only going
- 24:00to get worse. And the moment that you try to
- 24:03explain, well, Ansar Allah is taking the Red
- 24:05Sea. They're like, Ansar what?
- 24:11What? Who? Why is that happening? Blah, blah,
- 24:14blah. Oh my God, China's going to get involved?
- 24:16I got your Strait of Hormuz right here. Yeah,
- 24:19they have no clue. They're completely oblivious.
- 24:22What they know is Trump did something and gas
- 24:24has gone up. They don't know the particulars,
- 24:27the details. Well, that's the thing about it.
- 24:28I always say that American politics has rough
- 24:30justice to it, right? Like George H.W. Bush,
- 24:35he knew what a supermarket scanner was. He knew
- 24:38exactly what it was. He was just being polite
- 24:40and he came off as a goofus. But it was fair,
- 24:45even though it was unfair, because he was a privileged
- 24:49Yalie who belonged to Skull and Bones who was
- 24:52out of touch and didn't really have to buy his
- 24:54own shit and wasn't connected
- 24:56to the problems of the American people during
- 24:58the middle of a harsh recession. This is the same
- 25:01thing. People don't need to know about Ansar Allah
- 25:04and the Yemeni proxy war with Saudi Arabia.
- 25:09They don't need to know all that shit. But it's
- 25:13happening under this president. And the buck
- 25:16stops with him. And I guess it's like every Republican
- 25:20in Congress. By the way, some Republican congressional
- 25:23candidates have started to peel away and distance
- 25:26themselves from the president in their public
- 25:27posturing, which has been interesting. The Democrat
- 25:31running for the congressional seat here in Montana
- 25:35very well could win. And he's running on the
- 25:39Iran wars. Trump started this. So the two things
- 25:42he's going after Trump on is the importation
- 25:44of hundreds of millions of tons of Argentine
- 25:47beef that Argentina could not sell on the open
- 25:49market because no one wanted it. You've got to
- 25:51ask yourself why that is. Keep in mind, Montana
- 25:54is a big agricultural state, and then the cost
- 25:57of - Yeah, but they've got that sweet Belarusian
- 25:59potash coming. Yeah, good luck with that. But
- 26:02cows don't eat fertilizer. Not to mention, there's
- 26:06nothing coming. No, it's all trash. Trump should
- 26:10be in prison today, and the Republicans deserve
- 26:14everything that's coming to them. I hope that
- 26:16they get destroyed. But what's sad to me is that
- 26:18the Democrats will benefit, and they don't deserve
- 26:20it. And that's the other sad part. Yeah. Like
- 26:23when people talk about that stuff and it's like,
- 26:25yeah, but what does that really give you? Like
- 26:29you could say, well, we put Democrats in office.
- 26:31Yeah, but for what? And you could say, well,
- 26:33we put Democrats in opposition to Trump. But
- 26:37it's like, that's still just an opposition. What
- 26:39are you getting out of it? And that's the scam,
- 26:41right? Like you have two political parties and
- 26:44both political parties realize that the majority
- 26:45of things are not going to be something that
- 26:47they talk about because those things are settled.
- 26:49How you like capital, the issue of wars, the
- 26:52issues of how money is moved around
- 26:56the country and those type of things. OK, those
- 26:57things you don't really have to say so over.
- 26:59So what you talk about is, well, these big things
- 27:02and the things are not that big because they're
- 27:04not that big of a difference between the two
- 27:06parties on those things. A Democrat's issue,
- 27:09if you listen to like MSNBC, their issue is not
- 27:11that Trump attacked Iran. The issue is that Trump
- 27:15is losing the war and he looks bad, and that
- 27:19the American public doesn't like it, and so they're
- 27:20honing in on it. But if they're talking
- 27:24about Iran, they trash Iran every bit as much
- 27:26as the Republican Party's trash Iran. Same thing
- 27:29with Russia, same thing with any other particular
- 27:30issue. It's not that, meaning, it's done cynical
- 27:35for cynical reasons, not because they care anything
- 27:38about the particular issue. It's very cynical.
- 27:41It's a scam. It's like it floats back and forth.
- 27:43Like Nancy Pelosi one time said, Well, they'll
- 27:46come back to us after they get tired of Republicans.
- 27:49Meaning she knows that they're going to be unsatisfied
- 27:51with the Republicans because the public is not
- 27:53going to get ultimately what it wants. And it
- 27:55slashes back to Democrats looking for something
- 27:57that it's not going to get out of Democrats.
- 27:59And it slashes back. We flail. That's what we
- 28:02do. We flail between these two shit-ass parties.
- 28:06And that's why we have like 58% turnout in national
- 28:11elections, which is definitely toward the bottom
- 28:15for electoral democracy. They don't need to deliver.
- 28:17That's the other part because you can fundraise
- 28:21on, you can fundraise from the outside. Well they
- 28:23deliver to their donors. That's what they deliver
- 28:25to. They don't care about us. Well when Donald
- 28:27Trump is making speeches and he's like we've
- 28:29done this we've done that he's being honest. Yeah
- 28:31he's being honest. It just doesn't apply to us.
- 28:35When they tell you in school
- 28:37you have to write speeches to a particular audience
- 28:39you don't write it to everybody because it doesn't
- 28:41really make sense to everybody. It's to your specific
- 28:43audience. We are the greatest country. We've made
- 28:46huge amounts of money. We're doing great. Stock
- 28:50market is awesome. Yeah. Tail the usual
- 28:54tale of two economies. All right. Let's talk
- 28:57about the talks that took place on the sidelines
- 28:59of the UN, right? Yeah. That's worthy and notable.
- 29:03So the Iranian delegation met with U.S. reps
- 29:08to try to negotiate an end to the war, or at
- 29:11least the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz,
- 29:12which from the Iranian standpoint is exactly
- 29:15the same thing, because that Strait of Hormuz
- 29:16is not reopening. The only way it's reopening
- 29:19is, as far as Iran is concerned, the war is over.
- 29:22So, okay, question here. And I hope the Iranians
- 29:28would never be stupid enough to temporarily reopen
- 29:31it while they're negotiating. Because they tried
- 29:33that shit before and it didn't. They got played.
- 29:35That was the theft that they put into play. They
- 29:38got played. All right. So clearly,
- 29:43all apocalyptic and rhetoric aside,
- 29:47Trump and his administration are desperate to
- 29:50bring this in for a landing. What do you think
- 29:52they're willing to give Iran to accomplish
- 29:56that? In other words, is a deal possible? No. I mean
- 30:02it's possible Trump could accept their terms.
- 30:03Yeah, but in other words is it likely that Trump
- 30:06will accept their terms? No. Let's shall we go
- 30:10through them? What, okay, so reparations.
- 30:12Would Trump return their funds? He returned some
- 30:17of them or at least he promised to. I don't know
- 30:19if they ever got them. Probably not, right? That'd
- 30:21be hard. The way they checked their
- 30:24money it is their money and we have no right
- 30:27to their money every bit as much as we have no
- 30:29right to Venezuelan money or we have any right
- 30:31to Russian. Right, but we still stole resources
- 30:33from these countries. Yeah. I, the way they
- 30:37went after Obama when Obama gave Iran his money
- 30:40back and can you imagine that news clip of playing
- 30:44this is Trump complaining about Obama giving
- 30:46money to Iran? Who's going to play that? Democrats.
- 30:48I don't see Democrats playing that card.
- 30:53They may not play their card. True. That's true.
- 30:56I think Trump can do that. I think Trump can
- 30:59get away with that. He can return a sizable amount
- 31:03of the money. If I were him, I'd probably be
- 31:06like, okay, you get half back now, half upon
- 31:09completion, like a real estate deal. It would
- 31:11make him look weak. He would never do it. It
- 31:13would make him look weak. He's going to look
- 31:15weak if he wants to solve this war because he's
- 31:17lost. It's one of the main provisions that Iran
- 31:21is still sticking with. Yeah. Your dog in line.
- 31:24And he's got to choke. Yeah, he's got to pull
- 31:26that choker collar on Israel. Make the dogs holler.
- 31:32Right. Right. Can he do that? Well, he can do
- 31:37that. He can do everything that's on the MOU.
- 31:39Every last thing is within the power of the president.
- 31:41The question is, will he? And the answer is no.
- 31:45Have y'all seen the profits? I just don't believe
- 31:47it. I don't buy it. You saw yesterday, Ben Moser
- 31:49yesterday was saying like, look, he thought I
- 31:52was being excessive when I said that
- 31:56the US relationship with Israel might still continue
- 31:59for another 10 or 15 years. He thinks it'll be
- 32:01shorter than that. All right, let's split the
- 32:03difference and say that it's seven or six years.
- 32:06That's probably more accurate, right? So what's
- 32:11going to, I mean, if you know that, then
- 32:15you know. But he doesn't know that. Do you care about
- 32:17Israel, really? But he doesn't know that. And
- 32:19not just, he doesn't know that. Trump doesn't
- 32:21know much of anything. He's not a bright man.
- 32:24And beyond the point, what Donald Trump is doing
- 32:26right now. Yeah, but J.D. Vance is, and J.D.
- 32:27Vance can tell him. But what Donald Trump is
- 32:30doing right now, at this very moment, is trying
- 32:32to maintain the American empire. And he's doing
- 32:35so because he believes that this capitalism stuff
- 32:38is now going against America, right? It's like,
- 32:42okay, we had all of these advantages after the
- 32:44Second World War. These advantages have slid
- 32:46away from us now, and we are receding as an empire.
- 32:49We need to hold back the night. And so what does
- 32:51he do? We need to lock down South America. We
- 32:53need to go after Venezuela and take the oil so
- 32:55China doesn't get it. We need to go after Iran
- 32:57because we need to hurt Iran, which would hurt
- 33:00China and Russia just because of the geopolitical
- 33:02position of Iran. Meaning all of this stuff is
- 33:05now on the table in this kind of naked aggression.
- 33:08Why would he all of a sudden believe the same
- 33:11thing for Israel? Meaning in the same way that
- 33:13he's doing this for the world, Israel is part
- 33:15of the piece of that puzzle. I don't think he's
- 33:17going to give that up. I just don't. And leaving
- 33:20Iran, emancipated, for lack of a better
- 33:24term, with their military force and everything
- 33:26else, with them getting very familiar at hitting
- 33:29American bases, with Ansar Allah and the resistance
- 33:31fighters also taking part of this particular
- 33:33war that is making America's economy scream.
- 33:36I don't get the sense that he's willing to give
- 33:38up that pick. Well, even Imperial Japan got to
- 33:42keep their empire. I mean, their emperor at the
- 33:44end of the war. Maybe there's some bone that
- 33:48Iran can throw to Trump so that he saves a little
- 33:51face, right? I don't know what that bone
- 33:53is. Is it maybe Iran agrees to roll back its
- 33:59support of the axis of resistance to some extent?
- 34:02They're not going to do it. They're not going
- 34:04to do it. But does Iran need to support Hezbollah?
- 34:08They're not receiving tons of material support
- 34:10from Iran anyway. If Hezbollah no longer has
- 34:15Israel up their ass. Yeah, but Israel still exists.
- 34:19Right. For the time being. But the resistance
- 34:22is not there just because it's there. It's there
- 34:24because Israel is an irritant to the region and
- 34:26has been murdering people en masse for decades.
- 34:29And so it's like they're not going to give up
- 34:31what has allowed them to have some level of
- 34:34security, not just their missiles, but also the
- 34:36axes. I mean, the fact that Yemen got involved
- 34:38with the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait
- 34:40was dramatic. Like gas goes from like $3.60
- 34:45to $4.20 and then doubles. By the way, do you
- 34:48guys have any insight into why and how the Houthis
- 34:52achieved their recent military advances? I mean,
- 34:55after years of stalemate? Yeah, that's a good
- 34:58question. It seems that they were in this kind
- 35:01of incubation period. Like they were building
- 35:04up their power. That's what it seems like. Because
- 35:07the moment that Saudi Arabia hit the airport,
- 35:10all hell broke loose. I mean, obviously, Iran
- 35:13had been on the ground. So they were fighting
- 35:15like Afghans. They were just careful, waiting,
- 35:18planning, watching. That's the Afghan way. You
- 35:22invade Afghanistan, everyone heads to the hills.
- 35:25And you're like, look, we've won. We can start
- 35:28fucking all the Afghan women and move right into
- 35:30their homes. Uh-huh. Yeah, you do that and
- 35:34then in a few years they're going to be eating
- 35:36your bones, screaming from the hills.
- 35:39But that's going to see what happened. I mean
- 35:41Yemen was under starvation, deprivation, poverty.
- 35:44They were being killed by Saudis and all out
- 35:47just came screaming from nowhere just taking
- 35:53over, regaining Yemen territory again. I mean part
- 35:56of it had to do with Saudi Arabia and the GCC
- 35:59states having to break down themselves in regards
- 36:00to policy. But all that besides the point it
- 36:05was when they hit the airport is when all of
- 36:07the renewed struggle came about. So look I guess
- 36:11my point is I don't know what Iran would give
- 36:13Trump in this. I mean what do you give away?
- 36:16We want your military bases to move away. Do you
- 36:19really give that away considering that they're
- 36:21launching attacks on your country? We want all
- 36:23wars to stop. We want the blockade to stop. Okay.
- 36:25Well Trump can easily do the get rid of the blockade
- 36:28but the other things are just as important. We
- 36:30want our frozen assets. You've stolen our money.
- 36:32We want our money back if you want this war to
- 36:33stop. And let's be honest it's not like Iran is
- 36:36immediately hitting the United States the moment
- 36:38that the U.S. stops. Iran for the most part stops.
- 36:41I think they attacked Jordan yesterday but You
- 36:45know, Donald Trump hasn't responded to any of
- 36:47the most recent attacks that Iran has effectively
- 36:49done, probably because he's concerned about the
- 36:51midterms. But I would say the midterms are a
- 36:53lost cause. The midterms are definitely a lost
- 36:56cause. I typically am the one who's more than
- 37:00happy to blame Israel for pretty much everything,
- 37:02including the flyer that landed on my cereal
- 37:04this morning. But in this case, I know that's
- 37:06the case. Have y'all seen the percentage of
- 37:10profit, not earnings, profit that the oil companies
- 37:13have made year to date? Oh, I know they make
- 37:15it in killing. Yeah, so I pulled it up because
- 37:18I'm bored. So ExxonMobil. I'm old enough to remember
- 37:21when Congress passed taxes on windfall profits.
- 37:25So ExxonMobil last year made $7.1 billion. Today,
- 37:31they're up to $14.58 billion. This is a 104
- 37:34% increase. Sorry, I've got to call my broker
- 37:37right now. They, yet last year they brought
- 37:41in some 4.7 billion. Today they are sitting
- 37:44at 9.84 billion, 109 increase. That's combined.
- 37:49The five major companies are averaging between
- 37:53us three are the wrong business and I think Russia
- 37:57had like 30, 40 billion in profits or something
- 38:00like that. Yeah. Trump has no interest in ending
- 38:04this war. It is enriching his donors. That's
- 38:06why the Democratic Party is not pressuring to
- 38:09have this war ended. It is enriching their donors.
- 38:13Okay. I'm about to channel my - Donald Trump
- 38:16is still going to be in a world of pain next
- 38:18year. Who cares? Well, he cares. If the new boss
- 38:22is like the old boss, seriously, what? Okay,
- 38:24so George H.W. Bush started a war and nothing
- 38:29happened. George W. Bush started a war, killed
- 38:31over a million people. He's not in prison. He's
- 38:33living his best life talking to Jenna Bush on
- 38:36a morning show, yucking up about his new book.
- 38:38Nothing ever happens. I don't think they would
- 38:41impeach him over the war. Like I said, I think
- 38:43they're okay with the war. I think they would
- 38:44impeach him over financial stuff. They would
- 38:46have had the war themselves. I think if Kamala
- 38:49Harris were president and Bibi Netanyahu came
- 38:51to her and said, hey, I'm thinking of going after
- 38:54Iran. Want to come along for the ride? I think
- 38:56there's a good chance she would have said yes.
- 38:58Yeah, I don't have an answer to that one. I feel
- 39:01like she was going to start a nuclear war with
- 39:03Russia, frankly. If anything, what would happen
- 39:08is that the Democrats might try to ramp the war
- 39:11down with Iran. And then double down on the war
- 39:14against Russia. Because for whatever reason,
- 39:16the Democrats have got a hard-on against the
- 39:19Russians. They want dead Russians. They want
- 39:21that war. Why it is, I don't know. And in this
- 39:25respect, they are just like Donald Trump. Because
- 39:27Donald Trump thinks he can beat Iran. And Democrats
- 39:30think they can beat Russia. And those statements
- 39:33are both equally untrue. Yeah, both are delusional.
- 39:36Both are delusional and wasting American money
- 39:38to do it, wasting American lives in the case
- 39:41of Ukraine – I mean in the case of Iran. And
- 39:43then for Trump to call those soldiers small potatoes.
- 39:46Shit like that is – it's like you get these people
- 39:50killed, and your response, oh, they're small
- 39:52potatoes. Here's a question for you, JT. You
- 39:54probably would be the right person to ask about
- 39:56this. What do you think the odds are? That there's
- 40:00some Wagner type, some Wagner instructors training
- 40:02the Houthis on asymmetric warfare and how to
- 40:05use these weapons. All of a sudden, they're getting
- 40:08shoulder-fired missiles that can bring down
- 40:10planes. I think they've done that before. I do
- 40:13think they're running, but I don't know about
- 40:14the Russians. The Russians aren't a resistance
- 40:19actor in that case, which is why many people
- 40:22are pissed off at the Russians in the Middle
- 40:25East. Well, it's not resistance. I've had people
- 40:28leave my show over shit like that, over this
- 40:31conversation. No, I get it. But I mean, the United
- 40:34States is at war with you. So it's not them helping
- 40:37the Houthis on the kindness of their heart. It's
- 40:39them opening up another front of irregular warfare,
- 40:43asymmetric war against the American empire. They
- 40:45have Iran. They can give Iran also its targeting
- 40:48data, satellite data, all sorts of shit. But
- 40:51geography helps the Houthis. So Russia could
- 40:55be playing both places. They could be helping
- 40:57both of them. Who knows? That would not surprise
- 40:59me. Look, we've seen what Russia has done in
- 41:02the Sahel, right? At this point, they're trying
- 41:06to keep as small a footprint as possible, stay
- 41:09focused on Ukraine. They're trying not to get
- 41:11distracted overseas. And they're trying to outsource
- 41:14as much of the other overseas stuff to Wagner
- 41:17and other organizations. They're trying not to
- 41:21do it directly. I mean, I don't entirely agree
- 41:27with it. I think you can walk and chew gum at
- 41:29the same time. But that's Putin's caution. He's
- 41:34too gentle. Putin is too gentle. What do you
- 41:36mean gentle? He's too gentle. He's too gentle.
- 41:38There's only 2 million dead Ukrainians. I would
- 41:42disagree with you on the gentle part. Well, the
- 41:44reason why there's 2 million dead Ukrainians
- 41:47is because he keeps dragging this war on instead
- 41:49of putting it to bed three years ago like he
- 41:51very well could have done. I don't think he had
- 41:54the power to do that three years ago. I know
- 41:57they would never say that, but, I mean, they
- 41:59had 150,000 men against, like, 500,000 men.
- 42:03Yeah, they weren't conscripting that many guys.
- 42:07This has also turned out to be a drone war, and
- 42:11having more men is not really what you need.
- 42:13You need more drone technology and anti-drone
- 42:16technology and more drone operators. I think
- 42:20it's a training issue. I think in terms of getting
- 42:22up to speed. This is the first true widespread
- 42:26drone war that we've ever seen. Oh, for sure.
- 42:29They're making doctrine. They're literally making
- 42:31doctrine as we speak. Yeah. I don't know. I mean,
- 42:35men... This is what war will look like for the
- 42:37next few decades. Yeah, until they come up with
- 42:40some kind of anti-drone defense. Sure. But the
- 42:43reality of it is Ukraine is running out of men.
- 42:46And they went with this idea that you can have
- 42:47drones instead of men. And that idea has been
- 42:49found. Russia has men, but it needs them trained
- 42:53properly. And that takes time. Speaking of men,
- 42:56have y'all seen Trump's brand new Truth Social
- 42:58he just dropped? No. God help us all. What now?
- 43:04Canada is destroying itself by allowing millions
- 43:07and millions of people into the country, essentially
- 43:09unchecked and unvetted, who are causing problems
- 43:12that will soon be too big to handle. It is a
- 43:14liberal takeover. That will end very badly. Already
- 43:17showing up in their numbers. Big unemployment.
- 43:20Oh, Canada. President J.D.J.T. He's such a
- 43:24clown. What is he even talking about? I mean,
- 43:28they do have a relatively they have a relatively
- 43:31liberal immigration policy. But have you ever
- 43:33flown across Canada? Like they've got the room.
- 43:37OK, I mean, they need population. That's like
- 43:40they're that's why they have a liberal immigration
- 43:42policy. Yeah, they're a huge population. I mean,
- 43:45they're a huge country. I mean, Carney is right.
- 43:49Like, regardless of what happened. And honestly,
- 43:52the thing with Greenland is an exact, is a good
- 43:55example of why Carney is right. The moment that
- 43:59the bully is like, hey, can you give me a dollar?
- 44:01The next thing that he's saying, can I get two?
- 44:03Can I get five? Yeah, you got to shove that dollar
- 44:05up his ass. Yeah. Yes, you got to hit him in
- 44:07the throat hard. And when he's choking on the
- 44:11ground, stomp his throat as hard as you possibly
- 44:14can. Agreed, agreed. The reality of it is, Europe,
- 44:17as they kept giving Trump stuff, he just kept
- 44:20taking more. And when he's threatening Greenland,
- 44:23oh, I'm going to take Greenland one way or the
- 44:24other. Okay, this is the same mob tactics that
- 44:26he's effectively used in every other context,
- 44:28with Ukraine telling him, I mean, Iran telling
- 44:31him to F off and effectively going to war. But
- 44:33there was no way to make a deal with Trump, even
- 44:35in that context, meaning even if Iran wanted
- 44:37to deal, which they did want to do, there was
- 44:39no way to make it with Donald Trump. And the
- 44:41same thing is true for Europe. The same thing
- 44:43is true for Greenland. Greenland believes they
- 44:44have a deal. Trump could come back tomorrow and
- 44:45be like, by the way, I interpret it this way.
- 44:48Oh, yeah, totally. I mean, yeah, you can't. Like,
- 44:51I think it was Mark Carney who said that Trump,
- 44:54the US signs all of its agreements in pencil,
- 44:56a light pencil. We have some comments we should
- 45:00do. And by the way, just a reminder, if you were
- 45:03not here at the top of the hour. This is the
- 45:05first week that we're on the new schedule, expanded.
- 45:08So Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and today is Wednesday.
- 45:11We go from 9 to 11. That's two full hours instead
- 45:14of one. Tuesday and Thursday is the way it used
- 45:16to be, from 9 to 10 a.m. So today, if you have
- 45:21questions, put them in any time. But we definitely
- 45:24are more free form in the second hour, starting
- 45:26at 10 Eastern. Some comments. Math36, has anyone
- 45:31heard about the trucker strike October 1st? I
- 45:35had good heard. Oh yeah. Well they need to. In a
- 45:38way they have to go on strike, right, because they
- 45:40can't afford to run their trucks. So I mean it's
- 45:44kind of like strike or is just out of gas. Is
- 45:47there a difference? I'm not celebrating the fact
- 45:49that they're running out of gas so they're having
- 45:50difficulties. What I'm celebrating is an end to
- 45:53apathy. No, I love truckers. I mean, look, they're
- 45:56awesome people and they're doing the most important
- 46:01work in this country. I mean, every CEO could
- 46:04fail to show up to work for the next year and
- 46:06nothing would fucking happen. Every member of
- 46:08Congress could fail to show up to work for the
- 46:10next year. Nothing would happen. You lose 25
- 46:13% of the truckers, the country collapses. Like,
- 46:18no, they're incredibly important people and doing
- 46:21a really hard job for not nearly enough money.
- 46:24And we all owe them a massive debt of gratitude.
- 46:28And this country just fucked them over royally.
- 46:30Yeah. And like the point is, look, I mean, look,
- 46:33if we were serious about supporting them,
- 46:35the government could easily say, listen,
- 46:37don't worry, we got your back. Like,
- 46:40we'll give you gas subsidies. Every trucker
- 46:44who buys gas at a truck stop is going to get,
- 46:47their gas is half off and you send
- 46:51the rest of the bill to Uncle Sam and Uncle Sam
- 46:53pays. That would push prices up even higher,
- 46:57though. Because the problem is supply versus
- 47:00demand. Yeah, the problem is inventory. Yeah,
- 47:02but you're going to end up with a COVID-type
- 47:05situation where you have supply chain
- 47:07fuck-ups within the continental U.S. You can't
- 47:10have that. But here's the issue, though. That's
- 47:12going to lead to a depression. I mean, then,
- 47:13like, if there's nothing, no stock on the shelves,
- 47:16there's nothing to sell. Stores are going to
- 47:19go out of business. I mean, people are going
- 47:21to lose their jobs. Nobody told the U.S. to
- 47:23go into a war. Two-thirds of the U.S. economy
- 47:26is consumerism. We've got to keep the consumer
- 47:28goods flowing. But here's the issue. Yeah, but
- 47:30nobody told the U.S. to go into a war. I mean,
- 47:32look, you can have one or the other. You can
- 47:33have the war. But you got to go without your
- 47:36diesel. But JT, you just said yourself there's
- 47:38not going to be a deal, right? So I'm just saying,
- 47:41given that there's not going to be a deal, this
- 47:42is how they should deal with it. They're not
- 47:45going to. But they don't have the inventory.
- 47:46Because it's under capitalism. The doctrine is
- 47:49sucks to be you, right? Here's the issue, though.
- 47:52If you give the truckers a voucher like this,
- 47:56then what's going to happen is, again, I live
- 47:59out here in the middle of nowhere. I live in
- 48:00ranch country. The ranchers cannot drive their
- 48:03tractors. They can't. I'd make the same offer
- 48:07to the farmers. Where are you going to get the
- 48:09diesel at? Where are you going to get the diesel
- 48:11at? I can give you an 80% discount off of nothing.
- 48:16You still have nothing. Just to be clear, the
- 48:18reason that the price is going up is because
- 48:19the supply has gone low. So it's kind of like
- 48:24the missile thing. If you live in Los Angeles,
- 48:26you can take the bus. Okay, you can get them
- 48:28in 2030. Same thing with the gas. I mean, and
- 48:31even somebody made the point of saying, well,
- 48:33the U.S. should put an export ban on diesel.
- 48:38And someone else kind of pointed out, it's like,
- 48:39but you make diesel from crude. And do you really
- 48:43believe that if the United States is hoarding
- 48:45diesel, that anybody is going to give it crude
- 48:47in order to make the diesel in the first place?
- 48:49Like, it's a calamity. Yeah, it is. I agree with
- 48:54your premise. It's like, look, well, you need
- 48:56to give them subsidies, just like you did farmers.
- 48:58Trump gave farmers subsidies because he screwed
- 49:01up the soybean trade with China. Because it's
- 49:03an essential service. Yeah. Yeah. But if you
- 49:05don't have it, I mean, this goes back to wartime.
- 49:07Right. You don't have it. You can't give it.
- 49:09Right. No, I hear you. You can't give it. No,
- 49:10you're 100% right. And by the way, they used
- 49:13to have food vouchers and all sorts of shit because
- 49:14they were rationing and whatnot. Can you see
- 49:17this administration saying, hey, because of the
- 49:19war. We need to ration so-and-so and so-and-so.
- 49:21Well, I hope the truckers go on strike,
- 49:23and I hope they do it soon. October 1st is only
- 49:26in a week, but it's not soon enough. Because,
- 49:29I mean, someone's got to take a two-by-four
- 49:32and whack these assholes on the side of the head,
- 49:35right? I mean, wake them up. Daniel BTS, the
- 49:39GOP-er in Miami, Maria Elvira Salazar, has been
- 49:43bashing Trump on immigration. LOL, desperation
- 49:46mode. Yeah, I've seen that. Two dollars from
- 49:49P.W. Walker. Voting blue won't save you. No,
- 49:53it never does. Let's see. I mean, you can vote
- 49:59blue if you want Trump impeached, but you're
- 50:01not getting anything else. The sooner the better.
- 50:05Andre420, I heard Brazilian beef is coming into
- 50:07America as well. That got refused by Mexico,
- 50:11LOL. When I was in Brazil, the beef, I thought
- 50:15their food was fantastic. It has a good rep.
- 50:19Daniel BTS, I'm not convinced both parties still
- 50:22want, sorry, I'm not convinced, comma, both parties
- 50:25still want a strategic relationship with Israel
- 50:27and are hoping voters forget about this issue
- 50:29like they usually do with everything. Sure, but
- 50:33this time is this time is different. I don't know.
- 50:36For the leadership I don't think it's different.
- 50:40I agree with you that the coming generation is
- 50:43going to be hardcore in regards to their point
- 50:45of view of Israel being a genocidal state. But
- 50:48the leadership that is paid handsomely by those
- 50:51same people, I don't think they're on the same
- 50:53page. They may talk a game in order to kind of
- 50:56talk around it. Like when Macron was at the UN
- 50:57grandstanding about the West Bank and said, there
- 51:01is no home house in West Bank. He accepts the
- 51:04genocide. He takes issue with West Bank, right?
- 51:07Like, okay, you grandstand like that and you
- 51:09can try to get a clip out of that. But obviously
- 51:12he's still on board for Israel. And even when
- 51:15Hillary Clinton talks about it, he talks about
- 51:16it as Netanyahu's issue. But everything's always
- 51:18the way it always has been until it isn't, right?
- 51:21I mean, so Mike Hawk, how is America doing trade
- 51:25when half the world we can't trade with? Free
- 51:27markets, my ass. Europe. Yeah, yeah. Peter, I,
- 51:33two bucks, something like a million dollars a
- 51:36day, sorry, a million barrels a day of diesel
- 51:39are being exported from the US. And thanks for
- 51:42the donation. Abdul Kidd, thanks for the $5.
- 51:46The assumption that Trump's trying to preserve
- 51:49the U.S. empire is as faulty as believing he
- 51:52had anything to do with writing the U.N. speech
- 51:54he could barely read. The goal is to destroy
- 51:57the U.S. economy. Well, I'm sure Trump probably
- 52:02did have a lot to do with the content of that
- 52:05speech, because you can tell some of it he's
- 52:07going off script, right? He does that a lot.
- 52:10But I take the broader point. I don't know if
- 52:14the goal is to destroy the U.S. economy. Yeah,
- 52:16Alexander makes that argument that the goal is
- 52:18to destroy the U.S. economy. I don't think that's
- 52:20the goal. If I'm being honest with you, I think
- 52:22the goal is to destroy every other economy. Yes.
- 52:25If you're looking at what... But in an interconnected
- 52:27world, you take yourself out when you do that.
- 52:30Well, I think they're looking at it like they
- 52:32were doing in the Second World War. Okay, well,
- 52:35all of these other countries are involved in
- 52:36war, so we ourselves are going to be prosperous
- 52:38as a result of them destroying themselves, even
- 52:40if we're the last ant on the anthill and everything
- 52:42else is in flames. Chaos is a ladder to take
- 52:45the Game of Thrones thing. Europe can fight Russia.
- 52:49Okay, what's going to happen in the context of
- 52:50that war? We're going to be able to sell them
- 52:52weapons and whatnot, especially if we stay out
- 52:53of it. We may do something with China in regards
- 52:57to some kind of economic warfare. Israel is going
- 52:59to go after Iran. Okay, none of this stuff worked
- 53:01in reality, right? Europe and the Russia thing,
- 53:04that may work, but the United States was embroiled
- 53:08in a war which I don't know if they had planned
- 53:09on being in short of Israel being in that war.
- 53:11So I don't know, but either way I don't think
- 53:14the goal is to destroy the U.S. economy. I think
- 53:15he's just incompetent. Yeah. By the way, just a reminder,
- 53:19sorry Robby, just a reminder, please do subscribe
- 53:21to the show. We need your support on YouTube in
- 53:24particular. Five dollars a month to watch exclusive
- 53:28shows, $10 for credits at the end, $20 for very
- 53:32exclusive content. Robby, go ahead. Do y'all
- 53:36think it would be in the interests of a corrupt
- 53:39American government to have a population of renters
- 53:43versus a population of owners? They would prefer
- 53:46renters. They would prefer renters, but owners
- 53:48would be better overall. Well, because if you
- 53:51want your population to be renters, Breaking
- 53:54the current economy would be how you make it
- 53:56happen. Well, that's the movement, that's the
- 53:58direction they're going, but I agree it's motivated
- 54:01by incompetence. But maybe the motivation doesn't
- 54:04matter, but that's the direction we're going.
- 54:05They just want to make profit. I mean, it's a
- 54:07capitalistic system. Short-term profit. Right,
- 54:10but the current is always going in one direction.
- 54:15It may go faster or slower, but it's going in
- 54:17one direction. However, they start with, okay,
- 54:21we're going to have this capitalism, schoolboy
- 54:24capitalism, everybody's going to profit, the
- 54:26American worker's doing great, wages are going
- 54:28up, everybody's doing great. But at some point,
- 54:31they're going to go beyond that notion of, hey,
- 54:34I can make even more if I do this. I can make
- 54:36even more if I do this. In which case, you inch
- 54:39your way to the economy that you have now. Yeah,
- 54:41they would prefer renters. If you're looking
- 54:43for what's best for a country and a society,
- 54:45homeowners. You want people to own. You want
- 54:47people to have a space that they live in. And
- 54:49feel vested. Yeah. As opposed to this continuous
- 54:52hamster wheel of paying a rent for something
- 54:55that you would never own. Yeah. Yeah. No. It's
- 54:58profit. You make more profit from continuously
- 55:02getting the money from people. Totally. And people
- 55:04being completely insecure. All right. So let's
- 55:07switch gears a little bit. So down there in,
- 55:12I guess, in Austin, Texas. There was a DoorDash
- 55:16delivery guy named Wilber Perez, 28 years old.
- 55:20Obviously, he's just doing his job by all accounts.
- 55:22No criminal record whatsoever. He's delivering
- 55:26food. And suddenly, he's basically sideswiped
- 55:31by an unmarked car. He naturally assumes he's
- 55:36being assaulted by gangsters or something.
- 55:41That's what I would think. And anyway turned
- 55:45out of course it was ICE. He attempted,
- 55:48so when he realized that it might be ICE he attempted
- 55:51to make a U-turn to try to pull over. At this
- 55:54point the ICE guy gets out who's
- 55:59a wet behind the ears inexperienced
- 56:01new recruit, gets out of his SUV unmarked and
- 56:06shoots. So I should say Garcés Perez. He shoots
- 56:14him. He's 28 years old. Fortunately, he survived,
- 56:17so he's able to talk about it. All ICE goons
- 56:22are supposed to have body cameras at this point.
- 56:26This guy had one, but it was not on during this
- 56:30incident. I call on that. I call it was probably
- 56:34on but they lost, ICE lost the tape. I'm going to
- 56:37guess here because it doesn't make them look
- 56:40good. This is just, I know it's not like really new but it's notable.
- 56:44We have to take note of these things every time
- 56:47they happen until they stop happening, right? I
- 56:49mean it's cowboys and there's something inherently
- 56:52wrong with this idea of I would rather him be
- 56:55dead than get away. There's no evidence of a criminal
- 56:57record. It's no evidence that the guy is doing
- 57:01anything wrong per se. He's delivering food. Yeah,
- 57:04he's just delivering food. So you caught a guy
- 57:07who's delivering food and your response is he's
- 57:09a criminal and so I need to kill him. Okay. Maybe
- 57:12it's like meaning they would prefer him dead
- 57:16as opposed to him escaping which is wow. Yeah.
- 57:19I mean let's put this into
- 57:22perspective. If he was a, like he had held up a
- 57:24liquor store and the local Austin PD were chasing
- 57:28him, it would be inappropriate for them to behave
- 57:31exactly the same way, to hit his car, imperil
- 57:34other motorists, and shoot him. Even though he
- 57:38just was an armed robber, local PD probably wouldn't
- 57:41handle it that way. And this guy, at most, they
- 57:44were worried about his immigration status. That's
- 57:50it, which is not even a misdemeanor. And mind
- 57:52you, he has already been in the country. It's
- 57:56an administrative offense, right? It's not like
- 57:58he's breaking into the country. He's committing
- 58:01some violent crime that we need to stop him from.
- 58:03It's like hunting out of season or something.
- 58:06I mean, it's not a major crime. It's weird. I
- 58:08don't want him to get away, so I'm going to take
- 58:12a shot at him with my gun. He's like, what? I
- 58:14got to say, honestly, this shit's not going to
- 58:16stop until a couple of ICE guys get killed. Then
- 58:18it's going to stop. Because, basically,
- 58:22the ICE guys are imperiling themselves. I mean,
- 58:25look, this is America. People have weapons.
- 58:29We're rugged individualists. We have the
- 58:32right to self-defense in all 50 states.
- 58:34It's like, if I can go to a judge and credibly
- 58:37convince a jury, look. I was driving, minding
- 58:41my business. I was delivering food. I was delivering
- 58:45food. And this maniac in an unmarked car, not
- 58:49wearing a uniform, not presenting ID, hit my
- 58:53car. I felt scared. So I availed myself of my
- 58:56Second Amendment solutions and I popped the fucker.
- 59:00I guarantee you that most jurors from far left
- 59:04to far right are going to be like, yeah, I probably
- 59:07would have done the same thing. He didn't know
- 59:09who the guy was. It's not like he was identified
- 59:12as a cop. Right, right. I mean, you're totally
- 59:14within your rights to do that. Yeah, they're
- 59:18fair game. I mean, they're fair game. I mean,
- 59:21you're running up on people unmarked, unidentified,
- 59:23wearing ski masks. What do you think that they're
- 59:25going to do? Who does that? Who does that? I
- 59:29actually agree with you. It's like showing who
- 59:33your face is because you know you're goons and
- 59:35just like other goons in other oppressive states.
- 59:37You know, the same fate. Well, I'm not going
- 59:40to say the same fate awaits. But I guess my point
- 59:44is, like, they know what they're doing. They
- 59:45know their sins, which is the reason why they're
- 59:48not showing their face. But either way, I don't
- 59:50know who you are. And if I have a weapon and
- 59:52I think I'm under attack, I have every right
- 59:54for self-defense. Every right. I agree with
- 59:56both of you. It's outrageous. Like, the idea
- 59:59that you have the Stasi force all throughout
- 1:00:02the states that are just rounding up people,
- 1:00:05some of these people being Americans by the way.
- 1:00:07They held up two Americans recently. I'm a little
- 1:00:09ashamed of my fellow Americans, many of whom are
- 1:00:12armed and well trained in the use of a weapon,
- 1:00:15have not defended themselves against these kind
- 1:00:17of assaults. And there have been, by the way, fake
- 1:00:20ICE goons who have kidnapped and raped women.
- 1:00:23Like basically like look I have a ski mask.
- 1:00:27I'm an ICE officer. Yeah that's outrageous.
- 1:00:30I mean, it's just outrageous. That should not
- 1:00:34be legal. If this guy was really, if it was illegal,
- 1:00:36and I have no idea if it was or not, they could
- 1:00:40have just caught him at the end of his shift
- 1:00:41and said, okay, come on with us. Yes. You have
- 1:00:43to go home. Walk up to him like a normal person
- 1:00:45and be like, excuse me, sir, can we talk to you?
- 1:00:49So this is another example of Trump doing the
- 1:00:52right thing the wrong way. So being an illegal
- 1:00:54immigrant is not a death sentence. You should
- 1:00:58go home. You shouldn't be sent to the next world.
- 1:01:00I mean, those are two very different things.
- 1:01:04Outrageous. Like, imagine someone getting a parking
- 1:01:06ticket and a cop shoots them because they think
- 1:01:08he's walking away. It's so fucking unprofessional.
- 1:01:11I mean, in LA, they used to have these, like,
- 1:01:13crazy high-speed chases all the time with the
- 1:01:16LAPD. And they used to call them the ghetto birds,
- 1:01:18the helicopters following them. And then even
- 1:01:21the crazy-ass, heavily militarized LAPD that
- 1:01:24gave the world the SWAT team decided at a certain
- 1:01:28point that they were imperiling public
- 1:01:31safety. And it's like, you know what? Like sometimes
- 1:01:34dude's going to be getting away and that's okay.
- 1:01:38And other times we can see him from
- 1:01:40the air and we can like set out a
- 1:01:43nail strip and catch them later.
- 1:01:46Do it as safely as possible. It's just
- 1:01:49not worth it. Right. I mean, they're having gunfights
- 1:01:53in the middle of the street. It's not even gunfight.
- 1:01:56They're just shooting in the middle of the street.
- 1:01:58I mean, it's like these guys are reinventing
- 1:01:59the wheels when it comes to law enforcement.
- 1:02:03I mean, American cops have hundreds
- 1:02:05of years of experience. They know what works
- 1:02:07and what doesn't work. It's like, why not talk
- 1:02:09to people who are professionals and know what
- 1:02:11the fuck they're doing? This doesn't seem like
- 1:02:13a law enforcement. This seems like something
- 1:02:15else. Yeah. Law enforcement is different, at
- 1:02:16least in my mind. It's not running up on people
- 1:02:20unmarked and snatching them off the streets.
- 1:02:23And I want to reemphasize, this is dangerous
- 1:02:25for ICE. Like they are endangering themselves.
- 1:02:28These tactics are bad for them.
- 1:02:32And it's going to happen. I mean, I'm surprised
- 1:02:37that they haven't been popped yet. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:02:40It will happen. You will get no tears from my
- 1:02:43side on this. No, I mean, I might privately be
- 1:02:47laughing a little bit. I might not be privately
- 1:02:50laughing a little bit, but I mean, it's certainly
- 1:02:53like when it happens, it's not going to be surprising.
- 1:02:56I mean, I don't want to see anyone lose their
- 1:02:59life, really, truly. Well, there's a few people
- 1:03:00who I wouldn't mind seeing. There are a few people.
- 1:03:03There's a few people. By the way, did you see
- 1:03:06the story on AOC considering running for the
- 1:03:10presidency? No. What's the latest? It's the New
- 1:03:12York Times, and they come out with this big editorial,
- 1:03:17Ocasio-Cortez 2028, quote, life doesn't wait
- 1:03:20for you to be ready, unquote. Oh, this is an
- 1:03:25editorial. Yeah, this is editorial. Well, it's
- 1:03:27an interview, I think. It's an interview. It's
- 1:03:31a wide-ranging interview. The New York Times,
- 1:03:33the New York Congresswoman offered the most detailed
- 1:03:34insight into her thinking about a possible presidential
- 1:03:38run. And her thing is basically, like, look,
- 1:03:41I'm thinking about 2028 as a presidential run.
- 1:03:44She made the point of saying she's even thinking
- 1:03:48about a Senate run against Chuck Schumer. And
- 1:03:50her concern was like, if you do a - Well, a Senate
- 1:03:52run makes sense for her. That's what I thought,
- 1:03:54too. A Senate run makes sense. Presidential run,
- 1:03:56less so. No. But a Senate run makes sense. I
- 1:03:59mean, why do you think, I'll tell you why I don't,
- 1:04:01but why do you think it doesn't make sense for
- 1:04:04her yet? The presidential run? I don't think
- 1:04:05she is, I don't think she's great for presidency.
- 1:04:10For some reason. In general or now? But there's
- 1:04:15something about her that doesn't quite. She's
- 1:04:20not presidential timber. Yeah. But she doesn't
- 1:04:22look presidential timber. No, she doesn't. I
- 1:04:25mean, look, the first part is constitutionally,
- 1:04:29she's barely qualified to run for president,
- 1:04:32right? She's 36 years old. She'll be 38 during
- 1:04:34the election. I think William Jennings Bryan
- 1:04:38ran for the first time in 1896 against McKinley
- 1:04:43at the age of 36. I think he's the youngest person.
- 1:04:48Ever elected. It was a surprise nomination. He
- 1:04:52gave a very famous speech at the Democratic National
- 1:04:56Convention. You will not crucify us on a cross
- 1:05:00of gold or force us to wear a crown of thorns.
- 1:05:04And this was the crown of thorns speech that
- 1:05:11was about a controversy that is now
- 1:05:14forgotten about bimetallism. Like whether the
- 1:05:17U.S. should go off the gold standard or supplement
- 1:05:21it with the silver standard, which was viewed
- 1:05:25as the more populist working class approach to
- 1:05:28monetary policy. But William Jennings Bryan was
- 1:05:31a colossus intellectually and as an orator. And
- 1:05:35that's why the convention just went crazy and
- 1:05:40was like they elected, they nominated him by
- 1:05:42popular acclamation. He went on to run, I think,
- 1:05:44a total of four times. But, and it's funny to
- 1:05:47me that he's forgotten now because he was such
- 1:05:51an important figure that defined American politics
- 1:05:53for 25 years. But the Scopes Monkey
- 1:05:56Trial, he was one of the lawyers in that case
- 1:06:00and he died like right afterwards. Reap the whirlwind,
- 1:06:06that's him. But she's no William Jennings Bryan.
- 1:06:09I think she... She doesn't have it right now.
- 1:06:13She doesn't have what it takes to be taken seriously.
- 1:06:18She doesn't have the gravitas. She doesn't have
- 1:06:22the accomplishments, right? She can't say. And
- 1:06:24she doesn't have the... Obama was viewed as someone
- 1:06:28who had amazing oratorical skills. She doesn't.
- 1:06:33And he was viewed as having tremendous potential.
- 1:06:37Like this was a guy who was like holy that
- 1:06:40the world is his oyster. Anything's possible.
- 1:06:43I don't think she's viewed that way and I think
- 1:06:46there will be a president, there will be a
- 1:06:50first woman president. It's 200 plus years overdue
- 1:06:53but I just, I'm not sure it's going to be her.
- 1:06:57But I could see her being a veep in eight years.
- 1:06:59I could see that. Yeah. I'm skeptical of a presidency
- 1:07:02thing for some reason. I don't quite like I can't
- 1:07:05all your reasons. I accept all your reasons. That's
- 1:07:07true. And presidents, there's something about
- 1:07:10them that is different. Yeah. It's this sort
- 1:07:16of intangible thing. And sometimes people grow
- 1:07:19into it. Like I would have said four years ago
- 1:07:22that J.D. Vance didn't have it. I think he does
- 1:07:26now. Barely. Yeah. I think he's grown into it
- 1:07:28a little bit. No. No. I'm not talking about politically
- 1:07:33or anything like that. I just mean in terms of
- 1:07:40could you imagine that guy giving a speech from
- 1:07:41the Oval Office? Could you see that guy shaking
- 1:07:47hands with Keir Starmer? If Trump can do it,
- 1:07:50anybody can do it. If Trump can do it. But he
- 1:07:53can't. Well, Trump does have it. He has it in
- 1:07:56a weird way. Here's what AOC has going for her.
- 1:08:00She's young, she's Latina, she's attractive and
- 1:08:04she has an Instagram account. She has a follower.
- 1:08:08She's probably the first member of Congress, maybe
- 1:08:10the only one that you could rightly call an influencer.
- 1:08:12So she's very relatable especially to women voters.
- 1:08:14So I mean she, I can't think of another member
- 1:08:17of Congress that goes on there on Instagram and
- 1:08:20puts up makeup on her face while she's talking
- 1:08:22to her people. That's what she does. Instagram
- 1:08:24for her is what Twitter used to be for Trump.
- 1:08:27She is relatable. That's what she has going for.
- 1:08:29Do you remember Beto O'Rourke? Beto O'Rourke
- 1:08:33following AOC's thing of just like cooking and
- 1:08:38doing Instagram, putting on makeup, doing Instagram
- 1:08:41and talk to the audience. He does a dental visit.
- 1:08:43Did you remember this? Yeah, he went and
- 1:08:46did a dental visit online on like Instagram. It
- 1:08:49was the weirdest thing in the world, right, because
- 1:08:53you can't talk because the dentist is in your
- 1:08:55mouth and it's like oh why are you doing this.
- 1:08:57He was trying to glam on to what AOC was doing.
- 1:09:00Yeah but he couldn't do it. My take on it because
- 1:09:03he weren't doing those videos before. Oh for sure.
- 1:09:05I mean that's what it is and listen I agree with
- 1:09:08you. I don't think that she would ever get elected
- 1:09:10not to the presidency. I think that going for
- 1:09:12the Senate in New York makes a lot of sense for
- 1:09:15her. As far as where she goes from there I don't
- 1:09:17know because I don't know how serious she could
- 1:09:22be taken as a head of state whenever – She would
- 1:09:24have to get some shit done in the Senate more
- 1:09:27than Hillary did with the only bills that Hillary
- 1:09:29ever – The Congress doesn't do anything. There's
- 1:09:33no shit to get – When Hillary was a senator,
- 1:09:34she only had like four bills with her names on
- 1:09:36it, all for renaming post offices. But the Congress
- 1:09:38doesn't do anything. That's the problem. Her
- 1:09:42husband was her credentials. I mean, it's the
- 1:09:44epitome of the dead end, show up for work job
- 1:09:48and get paid because Congress does nothing. Well,
- 1:09:51that's true. I mean, she could look, the thing
- 1:09:55is like the Bernie Sanders thing where
- 1:09:58he was the long struggling socialist outsider
- 1:10:02who kind of the conscience of the left kind of
- 1:10:04taking over the Ted Kennedy role. That, I don't
- 1:10:08know if she can fill that spot. I don't feel
- 1:10:12that from her. I mean, Sanders had been doing
- 1:10:15it for like 20, 30 years in the wilderness. Yeah.
- 1:10:17That's why he had credentials. Yeah. Exactly.
- 1:10:19Yeah. He had credibility. I've been fighting
- 1:10:22this for 30 years. So now this is my moment.
- 1:10:26I was doing this shit when Reagan was president.
- 1:10:28Yeah. Yeah. And I never deviated. I was the same
- 1:10:30person. Yeah. AOC doesn't. No, she doesn't. And
- 1:10:33I've seen her flip on the Israel thing. Anyway.
- 1:10:37Yeah. I mean she was hardcore before she got
- 1:10:39elected and when she got elected it moderated
- 1:10:41heavily and I saw her in an interview with
- 1:10:43William F. Buckley's, oh, the Firing Line. I don't
- 1:10:45think she can pass the stress the stress test
- 1:10:49either. I mean she's not good in an interview.
- 1:10:51I can't imagine her in a debate. Holy. A very attractive
- 1:10:53woman asked her what do you mean by occupied
- 1:10:56and she lost. She just fell apart. She fell apart.
- 1:10:59She was and she froze. She didn't know what
- 1:11:03to do. Yeah and it's like oh that's pathetic. That's
- 1:11:07pathetic. It's not good. Yeah. I mean say what you
- 1:11:12want about Donald Trump he doesn't fail those
- 1:11:14kind of tests. Anything at any particular
- 1:11:16moment. Yeah no I mean so I mean I think she can
- 1:11:20she has. Oh I mean I think Chuck Schumer would
- 1:11:23have to step aside. I don't think she would
- 1:11:30prime. Well could she primary him? Yeah.
- 1:11:33Well, she's talking about primarying him. I'd
- 1:11:36vote for her over Chuck Schumer. Yeah. Because,
- 1:11:38I mean, Chuck Schumer is like, he's well past
- 1:11:42his expiration date, I mean, for a
- 1:11:44variety of reasons. It's not even, even if I
- 1:11:47didn't hate his politics, which I do, it's just like, yeah. I mean, the dark
- 1:11:50horse candidate that people aren't talking about
- 1:11:53for 2028 is New York Governor Kathy Hochul.
- 1:11:56I don't like her. But people are, but she,
- 1:11:57She's more central casting. Like she's like the
- 1:12:01kind of, in a sci-fi film or
- 1:12:05TV show, you can imagine her as like
- 1:12:08Madam President. You're like, yeah, I can see
- 1:12:12that. And I think that's a lot of the way Americans
- 1:12:16cast their presidents. Like, can I see this person
- 1:12:18in my TV box? Can I see that head floating
- 1:12:20there next to an American flag? And I think you
- 1:12:23could. Well, I just kind of assumed that every
- 1:12:28president would be black after Obama. I was shocked
- 1:12:31when Trump was like, holy shit, he's not black.
- 1:12:34He's the whitest of all white guys. Right, right.
- 1:12:40Yeah, he's just certainly, he's not that guy
- 1:12:42that you're going to discover like, oh, and I
- 1:12:46did 23andMe and I discovered that I'm
- 1:12:50part Somali. Like, no, that's not, that's not.
- 1:12:52I mean, maybe Kathy Hochul. I like, I gotta be
- 1:12:56honest. I don't know who's on the Democrats bench.
- 1:12:59I know you think Buttigieg. Oh yeah. I'm on,
- 1:13:00I'm not on team Buttigieg, but I'm on team thinking
- 1:13:04Buttigieg is the man to beat. Yeah. Yeah. Let's
- 1:13:05see right now. Let's do some comments. And just
- 1:13:09a reminder, we're now in the second hour. We
- 1:13:12go 9 to 11 on Wednesdays and Fridays and Mondays.
- 1:13:16So I don't know why I put that in that weird
- 1:13:21order. But anyway, so if you have a question,
- 1:13:22comment, whatever, please go ahead and tell us.
- 1:13:26This hour is more about you guys than it is about
- 1:13:28us. So suggestion for two guests to interview
- 1:13:31from Kilroy, and thanks for the dono, Zachary
- 1:13:33Fowler talks about the economy and JD Opdyke
- 1:13:37of Global Intelligence Letter. I don't know either
- 1:13:41of those people. Nor do I. So Zachary F-O-U-S-T
- 1:13:44and Jeff D, this is a name I have to admit
- 1:13:48I have no idea, maybe Dutch, O-P-D-Y-K-E
- 1:13:52of Global Intelligence Letter, which I assume
- 1:13:58is a Substack of some sort but okay.
- 1:14:02Anna Mandarake, did you guys see Jacob Rees-Mogg's
- 1:14:07little speech about how war is coming, filthy
- 1:14:10peasants need to join the army and many of them
- 1:14:14might die, it's normal for them to die? Now I don't
- 1:14:18even know whose speech. Jacob Rees,
- 1:14:22R-E-E-S Mogg. I don't know what that is. I don't
- 1:14:24know either. So I guess the answer to that question.
- 1:14:28NATO's thing. I don't know if you saw NATO's video
- 1:14:32they put out a propaganda video for white Europeans
- 1:14:35to get ready to die for Ukraine. They seem very
- 1:14:37happy to go running into the wood chipper. Yeah,
- 1:14:39those are good times. That's how my great, I
- 1:14:42guess it would be my great uncle died in, is
- 1:14:47that right? Yeah, great uncle in World War I.
- 1:14:50RoguebotMD, but Obama was horrible on foreign
- 1:14:53policy too. He led us down the path to the Ukraine
- 1:14:58conflict. I never said he was good. And just
- 1:15:00turned the Middle East into a dumpster fire. I
- 1:15:04never said he was good. I just say I assume there
- 1:15:07will be a black president. It's so funny how people
- 1:15:09interpret that, right? I remember giving
- 1:15:11a speech one time in the '04 election and one
- 1:15:13of the Q and A's someone asked me who I thought was
- 1:15:17going to win and I said Bush and people booed
- 1:15:21me and I'm like, you asked me who I thought
- 1:15:23was going to win, not who I want to win, right?
- 1:15:26And I said I wanted to win and also I'm not a
- 1:15:28warlock. I don't make things happen.
- 1:15:32No I never said Obama was good
- 1:15:35on foreign policy. I wrote an entire
- 1:15:38book about how Obama sucked. I remember I was
- 1:15:41having a conversation with a guy and he said
- 1:15:44you know I don't think Black Americans
- 1:15:47were ready for a Black president and I remember
- 1:15:52thinking about what he meant by that. His point was
- 1:15:54this ability to hold a particular
- 1:15:56president accountable became impossible because
- 1:15:59Republicans were attacking the president. And
- 1:16:01you didn't necessarily want to join in to some
- 1:16:04of the racist shit they were saying, like the
- 1:16:06eight pictures of what's-her-name that asked
- 1:16:08for the birth certificate. All this shit is well
- 1:16:10beyond the pale, right? No white president had
- 1:16:11to show a birth certificate. It's beneath the
- 1:16:14office. That should have disqualified Trump by
- 1:16:15itself, but apparently America didn't care all
- 1:16:18that much about it. I guess my point is, his
- 1:16:21thing was, it is impossible to hold the first
- 1:16:24Black president accountable, that Blacks if indeed
- 1:16:27Republicans are doing racist about the president,
- 1:16:28and he's right. Like nobody could say anything.
- 1:16:31Like when you had like Cornel West or Jesse
- 1:16:34Jackson. Jesse Jackson said a few things like
- 1:16:36he's like I'm going to cut Obama's balls off. He's
- 1:16:40been talking to Black people. He's got to cut
- 1:16:44his balls off. I mean this is the same guy that
- 1:16:46was crying on the White House lawn when
- 1:16:47Obama got elected, right? Yeah. I don't know, man.
- 1:16:52It became complicated. Cornel West was ostracized
- 1:16:54because Cornel West was going after Obama full
- 1:16:56bore. He didn't necessarily care that the other
- 1:16:59people were going after him. But it made it complicated.
- 1:17:01It made it complicated. For sure. Maybe, let's
- 1:17:04see. Okay. About AOC, maybe Bluthfunk.
- 1:17:06Please ask yourself if you'd say any of these things
- 1:17:08about Trump. Well, you'd say different things
- 1:17:09about Trump. I mean, before Trump ran and I was
- 1:17:14being asked about his chances to run and whether
- 1:17:22he'd be whether he could be elected president.
- 1:17:24I definitely he had. First of
- 1:17:28all, you couldn't say he was too young. That
- 1:17:30certainly wasn't true. But I mean,
- 1:17:34you could say. You could definitely say he, I
- 1:17:36kept saying he had no political or military experience
- 1:17:37whatsoever. And historically, that has always
- 1:17:40been something that people wanted. He was also
- 1:17:42rude, crude and socially unacceptable. And I
- 1:17:46wasn't sure that the American people were ready
- 1:17:46for a president who was basically a carnival
- 1:17:48barker. No, I mean, I'd say different things
- 1:17:51because AOC and Trump are just not at all the
- 1:17:54same people. I mean, politically or temperamentally
- 1:17:58or stylistically or generationally at all. So
- 1:18:00no, I wouldn't. I don't mind the check in terms
- 1:18:03of like, well, are you being sexist? But I also
- 1:18:05think we have to, look, to be clear here, there's
- 1:18:08any number of women who I would happily have
- 1:18:13voted for for president. Elizabeth Warren is
- 1:18:17one of them, even though I have problems with
- 1:18:20some things about her politics. But her, yeah,
- 1:18:25she's a snake. It's true. And what she did to
- 1:18:28Bernie and stuff. But the point is, there's definitely,
- 1:18:32it's, I think it's, but I think more to the point,
- 1:18:34when you acknowledge the fact that like women
- 1:18:36face challenges in running for office that men
- 1:18:38don't, and that the public isn't used to seeing
- 1:18:44women in high positions of power in the same
- 1:18:47way that even I know a lot of very well educated
- 1:18:49smart women who say themselves they would not
- 1:18:53vote for women. I'm reminded of Barbara Jordan
- 1:18:56who always said that she was a famous Black congresswoman from Texas who
- 1:18:58was famous during the Watergate hearings
- 1:19:01and she said it was much harder to be a woman
- 1:19:05politician than to be a Black politician in the
- 1:19:08'70s, right? So I'm aware of all that but you
- 1:19:10have to acknowledge that it's an
- 1:19:13impediment. Like with Buttigieg, his
- 1:19:14biggest impediment is the fact that he has
- 1:19:18that he's gay, right, and so it's not homophobic
- 1:19:21to point that out to say like the public would
- 1:19:24have to get over that. I mean it's not an advantage.
- 1:19:27It's maybe a slight advantage among the
- 1:19:32Democratic leadership. I think they would
- 1:19:34like that. But among the electorate in general
- 1:19:36I think it's an impediment. I mean I did ask myself
- 1:19:40was that being sexist. I think I even said it
- 1:19:43openly like allowed like am I being sexist when
- 1:19:45I'm thinking about this. Would you vote for
- 1:19:48a 36-year-old dude with the same exact political
- 1:19:51and life and history as AOC? And the answer is
- 1:19:53no. No. I mean, if all things are being... I
- 1:19:56don't have an issue voting for a woman. No. We're
- 1:19:59way overdue. All things being equal, if it's
- 1:20:01a man and a woman and they're identical, I will
- 1:20:03vote for the woman just because it's time. Well,
- 1:20:06I don't know about that. All things being equal.
- 1:20:10All things being equal. I mean, all things being
- 1:20:14equal. All things are never equal. Like all things
- 1:20:18are never equal but if the guy likes Star Trek,
- 1:20:21if the guy read, don't, I'm probably like if it's
- 1:20:23something it could be something like it's like
- 1:20:25okay I need to make a choice. Punk rocker I might
- 1:20:29that might do something for me. It could just
- 1:20:31be she's very attractive. I can see myself worshiping
- 1:20:34her as God ever, right? It could be something silly.
- 1:20:38If all things are being equal I don't think it's
- 1:20:40bad to have an attractive president either. Oh,
- 1:20:42that would be great. I mean, you have to see
- 1:20:44them all the time. And also, frankly, people
- 1:20:49who are more attractive are going to have better
- 1:20:50luck in negotiations and get along better with
- 1:20:54foreign leaders. Yeah. Yeah. John F. Kennedy,
- 1:20:58right? Like Camelot. All that stuff. No, I wouldn't
- 1:21:01have an issue. Robby, you are muted. Oh. I would
- 1:21:04vote for the 36-year-old guy if he promised
- 1:21:06to burn down the entire system that's screwing
- 1:21:11us all because he's closer to it. For example,
- 1:21:13the Democrat who's running here for the Congress
- 1:21:15here in Montana, he's a smokejumper. He's a firefighter.
- 1:21:19He's like, politics is never what I was planning
- 1:21:23on doing, yet here we are. And so if we're able
- 1:21:28to have a guy who's running for president, kind
- 1:21:31of like what Trump was, only without the string
- 1:21:34of bankruptcies and stuff, the system does not
- 1:21:37work. These companies are making record profits.
- 1:21:39They are screwing each and every single person
- 1:21:42on earth, starting with the American people.
- 1:21:45I want to burn it down completely and start over.
- 1:21:48I would vote for him. What's your platform, sir?
- 1:21:50Burn it down. Got my vote. Seriously, that would
- 1:21:52be enough for me. The status quo does not work.
- 1:21:56The burn it down thing, I'm fine with. I think
- 1:21:58that's why a lot of people flock to Sanders and
- 1:22:00Trump, ironically. Because both of them had that
- 1:22:04energy of, we're having a political
- 1:22:08revolution. We have to start from scratch here.
- 1:22:11Yeah. The stuff is, we have to change
- 1:22:17everything. Sanders didn't mean it. But you can't,
- 1:22:19again, you can't vote your way out of a problem
- 1:22:22like this. I mean, you can't vote your way into a revolution by definition. Yeah. Well,
- 1:22:24right. It's a revolution. The entire point of
- 1:22:27it is to overthrow the previous order. Right.
- 1:22:29And that means the whole thing's got to go. I
- 1:22:31mean, here's what I always ask people who say,
- 1:22:33ooh, we shouldn't have a revolution. I'm
- 1:22:36like, look. If you were starting if you were
- 1:22:38at a constitutional convention and it was 1789
- 1:22:39all over again would this be the system that
- 1:22:43we created and the answer is no. Okay. I mean from
- 1:22:45there would be no Electoral College. There
- 1:22:47probably wouldn't be a Second Amendment. There's
- 1:22:49a bunch of other stuff that we wouldn't do and we wouldn't have a two-party system. We'd
- 1:22:52have a multi-party system because that's what
- 1:22:54most Americans want, right? So
- 1:22:56the fact is that we would be doing everything
- 1:22:59differently in a really radical way. We'd have
- 1:23:03a far more robust social safety net. So given
- 1:23:08all that, OK, that's where we want to be. That's
- 1:23:11where we would be if we had the chance. Well,
- 1:23:13how do we get there? The only way we can get
- 1:23:16there is through a revolution because the system
- 1:23:19is not going to change itself into that now.
- 1:23:21Yeah, but apathy. Like it's apathy. It's over
- 1:23:25the top. Like when I was telling the story at
- 1:23:27the earlier part of the show where - You don't
- 1:23:30think it's just resignation? I think in some
- 1:23:34part it's, I think part of it is people don't
- 1:23:38know what's going on or they get snapshots. I
- 1:23:41think the other part is, okay, well, even if
- 1:23:43I accept what you say is true, how do I do anything
- 1:23:46about it? Well, yeah. And I think that part is
- 1:23:48the part that's killed. Yeah. And because there's
- 1:23:49no organization that can help bring that about.
- 1:23:54It's like somehow something has to come together.
- 1:23:57If people weren't resigned, they'd be stupid.
- 1:23:59They're right not to think that anything will
- 1:24:02change because nothing is going to change until
- 1:24:06there's some organization or something. I had
- 1:24:10to go through a similar thing, right? It's like
- 1:24:13you had all of these years, decades, hundreds
- 1:24:15of years of slavery or Jim Crow, et cetera. And
- 1:24:17then the catch becomes, okay, we need to mobilize
- 1:24:19for the rights but everybody was in the same
- 1:24:22situation. Okay, well what do you expect us to
- 1:24:24do with that? It's always going to be this way.
- 1:24:27Nothing is going to change et cetera et cetera
- 1:24:29and then well then people started organizing.
- 1:24:30They started organizing but the same thing has
- 1:24:34to be true for this and it has to be less nebulous
- 1:24:36as be this is what we are aiming for.
- 1:24:38Yeah and I think that's the killer. That's the
- 1:24:41hard part. Yeah that's all right. People would
- 1:24:44agree with you that everything's up. How do you
- 1:24:47change it? It's the part that creates inhibition
- 1:24:49and I'm not going to say apathy in and of itself.
- 1:24:50I mean we obviously I don't think people care
- 1:24:52as well. Apathy implies that yeah people just
- 1:24:54don't give a. Yeah I don't think they give a.
- 1:24:57I don't think that's quite true. I think it's people
- 1:25:00are they despair that a new world is possible.
- 1:25:03Well and they care about their individual self
- 1:25:06not beyond themselves. Well they have to I think,
- 1:25:09JT, I think that you hit on it earlier. Because
- 1:25:12remember you were talking about that lady who
- 1:25:14was complaining about the cost of a Whopper?
- 1:25:17Yeah. It's like, oh my God, gas is so high and
- 1:25:19beef is so high. The Whopper is so expensive.
- 1:25:22And it's like, hey. To have a self-governing
- 1:25:24system of government, you've got to have some
- 1:25:26buy-in from the population. You've got to pay
- 1:25:30some attention to what's going on. If you are
- 1:25:34too lazy to do a Google search and say what
- 1:25:38exactly is this going on, if you're that checked out, if you're that removed, a representative
- 1:25:40system of government cannot work by definition. I
- 1:25:42don't know how many people care. I mean we in
- 1:25:43a representative government we effectively
- 1:25:45tell people just sit down, vote and everything
- 1:25:48will be great. That's kind of the way we explain.
- 1:25:48We take it from here. Yeah we'll take it from
- 1:25:53here. I mean the entire point of it representative,
- 1:25:55right, well you're going to represent my interest
- 1:25:58in Congress when the reality of it is there may
- 1:26:00be a million things that they can do. What do
- 1:26:03you think they're going to choose? Okay, Bob
- 1:26:05is paying me $100,000. Maybe I pay attention
- 1:26:07to more Bob as opposed to these other people
- 1:26:10because these other people, I can just win them
- 1:26:12over when I get the money in order from Bob.
- 1:26:13At a certain point, you realize there's so many
- 1:26:17things that they can do in that office that ultimately
- 1:26:19they're going to err towards the side of the
- 1:26:22people who are giving them the cash because from
- 1:26:24their point of view, that is how they get elected.
- 1:26:26That's rational, by the way. Because it's corrupt.
- 1:26:28True. Rational. By the way, Susan Collins, did
- 1:26:31you see the ProPublica piece? No. No. ProPublica
- 1:26:33put out a piece of Susan Collins accepting bribes.
- 1:26:35And they caught her red-handed. The FBI had
- 1:26:37a case against Susan Collins. What? And when
- 1:26:39Trump got into office, Trump gutted the FBI,
- 1:26:42in which case gutted the case against Susan Collins.
- 1:26:45Apparently, there was some kind of firm that
- 1:26:48was giving her Super PAC money. Susan Collins
- 1:26:50said a thank you before it even registered that
- 1:26:51the money was sent from the Super PAC. Basically
- 1:26:53we caught you red-handed. You're not supposed
- 1:26:53to be working with your Super PAC. You're accepting
- 1:26:56money from these guys to the tune of hundreds
- 1:26:57of thousands of dollars. You're giving them thank
- 1:26:59yous directly even before the money even airs,
- 1:27:03meaning you're talking to the people who are
- 1:27:06paying you. Yeah. Yeah. And she pushed them millions
- 1:27:08of dollars in contracts. No, I did do a search
- 1:27:11on this yesterday because remember that guy who
- 1:27:15was running against Susan Collins, the Democrat
- 1:27:17who got MeToo and got taken out? Yeah, Graham.
- 1:27:19Yeah, Graham. So I decided to do a follow-up
- 1:27:22on that. The woman who accused him, she never
- 1:27:25went to the police after he dropped out of the
- 1:27:27case. Or after he dropped out of the race, which
- 1:27:29makes me think that there was nothing to that
- 1:27:31at all. And it also turns out that she invited
- 1:27:32him over to the house because she needed to have
- 1:27:34a thigh massage. That text message was never
- 1:27:37released by the media. Who needed a thigh massage?
- 1:27:39The woman who accused him of rape. She said she
- 1:27:43needed a glute massage. It was in the text message.
- 1:27:46The media never ran with it. They talked about
- 1:27:48the relationship. They ran full on with the accusation.
- 1:27:50Sounds to me like a request for a butt massage.
- 1:27:53It was. So to me, that sounds like it's not so
- 1:27:57much a butt massage. Who couldn't use a butt
- 1:27:59massage, though, in this day and age? But the
- 1:28:02point I'm trying to make is that Susan Collins
- 1:28:05is going to be the senator from Maine yet again.
- 1:28:07I don't know about that. No, I think she's in
- 1:28:10deep shit now. You think so? I hope so. I think
- 1:28:14that's the end of her. Mainers are not going
- 1:28:18to put up with that shit. But that's right. I
- 1:28:21mean she's given millions of dollars of contracts.
- 1:28:24The Democrat is a good, the Democrat who replaced
- 1:28:26Platner is a pretty solid candidate. So yeah.
- 1:28:29Yeah she's done. She's done. I hope that, I hope
- 1:28:32Platner sues the hell that woman that accused
- 1:28:34him. I hope he goes after like yeah
- 1:28:38but there's always this effect. If I were him
- 1:28:41I'd lay low. So who cares? You're already slandered.
- 1:28:43Believe me I know all about it. Don't you think
- 1:28:45that's your race? That's your rapist already.
- 1:28:48Just do it. Believe me, I know all about it. If that
- 1:28:52blows up in May, she's toast. They got her dead
- 1:28:55to rights. Consider it blown up. If it wasn't
- 1:28:57for Trump. Okay. Duskburn. What about Ossoff?
- 1:29:00What is it? Josh Ossoff? He's been setting it
- 1:29:03on fire lately. I've seen some of his speeches.
- 1:29:05I don't know. He leaves me flat. I don't get
- 1:29:08it. He's a Zionist Jew. The Democrats would never
- 1:29:12support him. It's the whole Josh Shapiro effect,
- 1:29:14only he's smart enough not to sign bombs. Yeah.
- 1:29:17I mean, seriously. Also, I don't get it. I actually
- 1:29:20more understand Josh Shapiro's appeal as a candidate
- 1:29:23than Ossoff. I mean, Shapiro has the rizz. I mean,
- 1:29:26they're just doing Obama impressions.
- 1:29:28Would never fucking vote for him. Yeah, it's
- 1:29:32just an Obama impression. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:29:35It doesn't do it for me. It's like all the Democrats
- 1:29:38have just started doing that as their cadence,
- 1:29:43thinking that this is the way to get it. Meaning
- 1:29:44from their point of view, it's about messaging.
- 1:29:49It's not about substance. All right. Q and A continues
- 1:29:53with Macadam. Thanks for the dollar. Ted, are
- 1:29:58you aware that urinal etiquette is that we do
- 1:30:01not talk at the urinals? And do Robby and J.T.
- 1:30:04approve of Ted's penchant of striking out
- 1:30:07conversations at truck stop urinals? I was going
- 1:30:11to bring that up. So, A, it was not a urinal.
- 1:30:13It was the side of the road. So y'all were peeing
- 1:30:18on the side of the road. Peeing on the side of
- 1:30:21the road. Okay, and I don't know if that's an
- 1:30:23exception. And B, I did not strike up this conversation.
- 1:30:26Who struck up the conversation? The trucker did.
- 1:30:29And he, both of you penises out. And he says,
- 1:30:31hey, by the way. He was just like, I think he
- 1:30:32was just like, like cold morning, huh?
- 1:30:34Cold morning. There was, by the way, there was
- 1:30:37a ballroom called Roseland in which they had
- 1:30:39concerts and shows and stuff like that in Times
- 1:30:44Square. I saw the Kinks there, the Sex Pistols.
- 1:30:46And it was an old timey like
- 1:30:48probably from like 100 years ago like ballroom like where
- 1:30:51people would like meet and like you have dance
- 1:30:52cards and stuff and in the bathroom the
- 1:30:55men's room was cavernous in the basement and
- 1:30:56it had rows of urinals facing each other. What?
- 1:31:00Yeah you're like right there. That's so weird.
- 1:31:02And it's like you're sort of like hey hey. It's
- 1:31:05like, how you doing, man? This is a pretty good
- 1:31:09party, right? God, that's so weird. Oh, that's
- 1:31:10so weird. I know in Egypt, they had the things
- 1:31:18in the floor while you had to pee, like directly
- 1:31:21in the floor. Yeah, yeah, the Turkish style.
- 1:31:22Oh, those are so gross. Oh, but you get a good
- 1:31:28squat going, right? It's like the squatty part.
- 1:31:33You get like, things come out better.
- 1:31:36Give me a good toilet any day of the week and
- 1:31:39twice on Sundays. I don't know. I think I'm on
- 1:31:45team squat all the way. Maybe Bluth Punk. This
- 1:31:48man has killed multiple people, raped children,
- 1:31:50brought an existential war to Iran, created a
- 1:31:53Gestapo. Maybe Bluth Punk, but she doesn't have
- 1:31:56leadership potential. Yeah, but we're not talking
- 1:32:00about who's the better president or who has the
- 1:32:09better policies. Yeah, we're handicapping who
- 1:32:13could win an American presidential primary and
- 1:32:14election. Those two things have little, if anything,
- 1:32:19to do with one another. And just be clear, we're
- 1:32:21not saying her quality as a candidate, like meaning
- 1:32:23nobody's saying how good she'll do as president.
- 1:32:26Right. I don't think there's any way to know
- 1:32:29that. Right. The argument we're making is, can
- 1:32:31she get elected? Right. And one of the reasons
- 1:32:32that... She's like, if I lose the presidency,
- 1:32:35then I would lose my congressional seat also,
- 1:32:37which makes her think twice about it. Right.
- 1:32:42And people kind of like, when people consider who to, when American
- 1:32:46voters go to the polls they think
- 1:32:48of it like it's like a feeling. It's a vibe. Do
- 1:32:51I think could I see John McCain as president?
- 1:32:54Could I see Sarah Palin as president?
- 1:32:58It's not about now. Sarah Palin may very well
- 1:33:00have been an excellent president. We'll never
- 1:33:06know. But the point is that we, it has
- 1:33:10nothing, that's not what we're talking about here.
- 1:33:13I mean, Donald Trump is a fucking maniac and
- 1:33:15he shouldn't, he shouldn't have, he should. And
- 1:33:17like Robby said, he should be
- 1:33:19in prison. Like you said, he should be in prison.
- 1:33:20I say the same thing. Yeah. We're not comparing
- 1:33:22the two. No, it's like, and believe me. Yeah.
- 1:33:25Yeah. President. Maybe. Maybe she could
- 1:33:28usher in a new age for a thousand years.
- 1:33:31Could well be. That's not really what I'm judging.
- 1:33:33I'm judging on. I actually don't have
- 1:33:36any sense of whether she'd be a good president
- 1:33:39or not. I'm not even thinking about that. I mean,
- 1:33:41there's so many variables there.
- 1:33:44It's hard to say. I mean, I don't know that she's
- 1:33:47a student of the presidency. You know what I
- 1:33:51mean? Like in terms of what works and what doesn't
- 1:33:54work. She may well be. I don't know. If we hit
- 1:33:58the skids, like, again, man, this will be an
- 1:34:00opportunity for a left-wing candidate to knock
- 1:34:03that shit off the park. Yeah, in a crisis. Yeah,
- 1:34:06this chaos. 1932, right? Everything's falling
- 1:34:07apart. Look at what FDR did. FDR did whatever
- 1:34:11the fuck he wanted because of that crisis. Yep,
- 1:34:13exactly. Yep. I'm going to move heaven and earth.
- 1:34:18Aliens about to attack Earth. I get grace to
- 1:34:21do whatever the hell I want. Exactly. Ryan Newton.
- 1:34:25The Democrats are a Zionist party and don't care
- 1:34:28what their base wants. Well, that's for damn
- 1:34:28sure. They will go with Ossoff. I don't know
- 1:34:32about Ossoff. I don't know. Maybe. I just don't
- 1:34:34believe that they can. I don't believe a Zionist
- 1:34:38can get elected. Of the Democratic Party. They
- 1:34:40can't be nominated. They can't be nominated.
- 1:34:43Exactly. Andre420, can you guys ask Robby? Hey,
- 1:34:46Robby. What do you think about Saeed with Kamala?
- 1:34:51I think Saeed's a con man. Seriously, I think
- 1:34:55he's a younger Bernie Sanders with no substance,
- 1:34:57no spine, and he's got the looks, but he has
- 1:34:59zero substance. And he's going to let down a
- 1:35:03whole bunch of lefties because he's more of the
- 1:35:06same, only with a slight tan. Well, at least
- 1:35:09you didn't say he should be deported. Well, he's
- 1:35:13from here. I can't – where am I? Michigan? I'm
- 1:35:16teasing. But do you think he's doing this Kamala
- 1:35:19Harris thing to get elected? Meaning I need to
- 1:35:21somehow bridge a gap among people that for whatever
- 1:35:25particular reason I just don't have access to.
- 1:35:26And apparently I was listening to a Hasan Piker
- 1:35:29thing where he was like, hey, there's a gap between
- 1:35:31the Black community and Muslim community. And
- 1:35:33I'm like, really? I need to ask Latham about
- 1:35:36this because I didn't really realize that this
- 1:35:40was the thing. I mean, I saw it in the polling
- 1:35:42where the Black areas went to his opponent. Sure.
- 1:35:44And he was able to take the other areas of Michigan,
- 1:35:48but it was a close race. Well, he could always
- 1:35:50just reach out to the Nation of Islam. I mean,
- 1:35:50why would you reach out to – seriously, why would
- 1:35:55you reach out to Kamala? She has arrested – she's
- 1:35:55directly responsible for the prosecution of the
- 1:35:59untold number of Black men, put them in prison
- 1:36:00for smoking pot while she laughed about doing
- 1:36:03it herself. She sent an innocent dude who she
- 1:36:07admitted she knew was innocent to death row.
- 1:36:10He's still in San Quentin. So if you're trying
- 1:36:14to reach out to the Black community, you probably
- 1:36:16wouldn't reach out to the woman responsible for
- 1:36:23putting Black men in prison. That's probably
- 1:36:26not the best play. Although there's a lot of...
- 1:36:29There's sort of a lot of mainstream
- 1:36:33Black voters, older people, churchgoers, who
- 1:36:35the kind of people who respond to the James Clyburns
- 1:36:39of the world. Yeah. Like think of what
- 1:36:41Sanders went through. Sanders. I remember he gave
- 1:36:44the speech at a church and it was a Black church
- 1:36:46and everything that he's saying is getting applause
- 1:36:48lines. Like they love it. What he's saying, right.
- 1:36:52Clinton comes up, gives her speech, milquetoast.
- 1:36:54And yet. When Sanders leaves, all of them are
- 1:36:56on Team Clinton. It's like, oh, she's establishment.
- 1:37:01That's the way they look at it. Kamala Harris
- 1:37:03may also be looked at as the establishment, which
- 1:37:05gives Blacks, oddly enough, for whatever particular
- 1:37:06reason, this kind of license to latch on to the
- 1:37:08party under Saeed. I don't know. It's very weird.
- 1:37:12I agree with you on some parts, Robby, because
- 1:37:16it's not like Kamala Harris got the Black vote
- 1:37:20when she was running in the primaries. Black
- 1:37:22voters have become small-c conservative within
- 1:37:25the Democratic Party. I think they're afraid
- 1:37:28of wasting their vote. I think their votes were
- 1:37:28hard to come by, and they're afraid that if they
- 1:37:31vote for a radical, they'll lose and the Republicans
- 1:37:33will get in and make their lives even worse.
- 1:37:35Yeah, but if Saeed won the primaries. If Saeed
- 1:37:38wanted to win, all he would have to do is have
- 1:37:42press conferences at every gas station in the
- 1:37:45state. Said this is what's going on. This president
- 1:37:48and this Congress started a war for Israel and
- 1:37:53you are literally paying the price for it right
- 1:37:57now. It's not a racial issue. It's literally
- 1:38:00a class issue. It's between do you have to
- 1:38:03buy sardines at the dollar store
- 1:38:06to survive as opposed to going to Whataburger.
- 1:38:08Well I guess Whataburgers don't exist in Michigan.
- 1:38:10I mean you pick your restaurant, right, but you
- 1:38:13hear what I'm saying though. That's what you don't.
- 1:38:18Reach out to the Black community by going to
- 1:38:19Kamala Harris, who has incarcerated Black men.
- 1:38:21Yeah, but a lot of voters don't view it that
- 1:38:23way. But look, I think like I was telling Jamarl
- 1:38:27about two hours ago on his show,
- 1:38:30my take here is that Saeed's
- 1:38:33trying to like make inroads with the Black community,
- 1:38:34with Black Democratic politicians, and Obama's
- 1:38:36refusing to show up for him, right? Which is
- 1:38:36well. So he had to make do with like Carrot Top
- 1:38:37of Black politicians here. Obama is the one that
- 1:38:39he needs. Yeah, he, no, Obama gets it done. If
- 1:38:42he, if Obama goes there, it's finished. That's
- 1:38:45like eight points in the can for him. Don't
- 1:38:48need to campaign. I remember the Black gay thing
- 1:38:52when Obama, when body was like, Obama doesn't
- 1:38:54care about that. And immediately overnight, the
- 1:38:56Black community was like. Yeah, there's nothing
- 1:38:58wrong with gays. We never really had an issue
- 1:39:01with gays and blah, blah, blah. Now, the fact
- 1:39:04that Obama's not going, Obama's not showing up
- 1:39:07for Saeed either because he doesn't think Saeed
- 1:39:09is definitely going to win or because he's so
- 1:39:12corporatist, he doesn't want Saeed to win and
- 1:39:16he would rather the Democratic Party lose a mildly
- 1:39:18progressive candidate then, and allow the Republicans in. They don't want that
- 1:39:21to happen. I suspect that's where Obama would.
- 1:39:23Black churchgoers vote for a spineless Muslim
- 1:39:27man? Yes if he's against a Republican. See because
- 1:39:30that's the rub, right? It's not like Saeed is running
- 1:39:30against another Democrat. He's running against
- 1:39:32a Republican and under my model the Democrats,
- 1:39:36Black Democrats, one main item: who keeps the monsters
- 1:39:40at bay. That's the key point. The monster's eating
- 1:39:44your lunch right now. Every time you go to the
- 1:39:48grocery store, the monster's eating your lunch.
- 1:39:51Every time you go to the gas station, the monster's
- 1:39:53eating your lunch. The monster's not at bay.
- 1:39:56He's in your house. The monster, in this analogy,
- 1:39:59is a Republican Party. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:40:03When I was young and growing up, that was the
- 1:40:06modus operandi. Who keeps the monsters at bay?
- 1:40:10The monsters are in the other party. We need
- 1:40:13to stop the other party. So you pick whatever
- 1:40:16random Democrat that's effectively there. You
- 1:40:19don't even know who the Democrats are. It's just,
- 1:40:22all right, this is the guy and go and put your
- 1:40:24business monsters because I voted for this random
- 1:40:25Democrat. That has run its course. That is severely
- 1:40:27run its course, right? But if Saeed is running
- 1:40:28against a random Republican how the hell do they
- 1:40:31turn around and vote for the Republican? I just
- 1:40:33don't see it. They may stay at home. I don't see
- 1:40:36them voting for the Republican. Well why would
- 1:40:39you vote for Republican? The Republicans want
- 1:40:43to screw you. Exactly. But I guess my point is,
- 1:40:47Saeed is worried about the race. And he's worried
- 1:40:49about getting enough Democrats on staff. It's
- 1:40:51tight. It's tight. RealClearPolitics average
- 1:40:54for Saeed currently has Saeed ahead by 2.8.
- 1:40:59That's within the margin of error. That's tight.
- 1:41:01And by the way, the last primary race was way
- 1:41:02closer than they were predicting. Let me tell
- 1:41:06you what I would do. And y'all are going to
- 1:41:10think I'm crazy for this. Although this doesn't
- 1:41:14have as many undecideds as that primary race
- 1:41:16did. Go ahead, Robby. If I lived in Michigan,
- 1:41:18I'll tell y'all exactly what I would do. And
- 1:41:20Saeed, if he's watching the show, this is what
- 1:41:22he should do. I would go, well, he would have
- 1:41:24an easier time because he's Muslim. I would go,
- 1:41:27I would set up a meeting with Louis Farrakhan.
- 1:41:30Okay, here I am. Louis Farrakhan is five million
- 1:41:32years old, man. It doesn't matter. But hear me
- 1:41:34out here. But most Christians, we disagree on
- 1:41:36a lot. But we agree on these things. That's the
- 1:41:38last thing he needs to do is hang out with Louis
- 1:41:39Farrakhan. The economic system is screwing us
- 1:41:43all. We started this war for Israel. My opponent
- 1:41:45supports more of the same. Let's take this to
- 1:41:49Main Street. And the reason why I've reached
- 1:41:53out specifically to the Nation of Islam as a
- 1:41:56Christian fundamentalist is because they have
- 1:41:57a ground game, they have an organization. That's
- 1:42:01why we do it. Do they still have a ground kind
- 1:42:03of an organization? I mean, I haven't seen mention
- 1:42:05of Islam. I mean, they used to be in Richmond
- 1:42:09all the time. My barber or one of them used to
- 1:42:12be Muslim or Black Muslim, I should say. Do they
- 1:42:14still do that? Let's find out. I don't know the
- 1:42:18answer to that. That's what I'm asking. I know
- 1:42:22that they have like a lot of motor drives and
- 1:42:24stuff and they do a lot of charitable work, that
- 1:42:28kind of thing. So, I mean, they have a game.
- 1:42:31They've got more of a game than Kamala's got.
- 1:42:33What does she have? She has a camera. By the
- 1:42:35way, I'm looking at Saeed's platform, and it's
- 1:42:37worrisome. Basically, he talks about overturning
- 1:42:41Citizens United. Ain't going to happen. Getting
- 1:42:43rid of the Senate filibuster. Also ain't going
- 1:42:45to happen. Medicare for all. Also ain't going
- 1:42:46to happen. Taxing the wealthy. All of this stuff
- 1:42:49is federal. He's, this isn't about that.
- 1:42:51This race is going to be about how you can reindustrialize
- 1:42:53or replace the deindustrialized upper Midwest.
- 1:42:56Right. How are you going to, what are you going
- 1:43:00to do for Michiganders who have hollowed out
- 1:43:02cities like Flint? How are you going
- 1:43:07to poverty, opioids, unemployment, housing?
- 1:43:09Those are the things that people in Michigan are going
- 1:43:12to be worried about. And if I were him, I wouldn't
- 1:43:17be focusing on a bunch of pie-in-the-sky bullshit.
- 1:43:21I mean, I'm worried about him. He can lose this
- 1:43:23race. No, I agree, but he's going to the Senate.
- 1:43:26I mean, I guess he could put legislation that
- 1:43:28would try to reindustrialize the Midwest and
- 1:43:31those type of things. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:43:34I mean, I think he's a squishy Democrat, frankly.
- 1:43:37Yeah, he is. I could be wrong. I think he's squishy.
- 1:43:38And he's not. And he's not. And he's charmless.
- 1:43:40Yeah. Yeah. I mean, AOC's got the charm like
- 1:43:45nobody's business. Because Mamdani was very,
- 1:43:48he's very charming. Oh, so charming. I mean,
- 1:43:50you might dislike him, but he does come across
- 1:43:52very likable. He's a likable dude. I mean, come
- 1:43:54on. He is. He's funny. He's very likable. El
- 1:43:57Saeed. On his city, driving around town on his
- 1:43:59Citi Bike with the older Jewish guy who was helping
- 1:44:03him out, Brad Lander. So cute with their little
- 1:44:06bromance. Doing the polar bear swim at Coney in
- 1:44:10his suit. Diving into the public pool on the
- 1:44:13opening day of summer in his suit. That's what
- 1:44:16I mean, right? Like that works, especially from
- 1:44:19New York. It's so appealing. Maybe Michigan is
- 1:44:23different, but I don't know. That should work.
- 1:44:28Yeah, but I mean, yeah, Saeed's just like, I
- 1:44:28mean, like, who would, okay, this would be the
- 1:44:33beer test. Who would you rather have a beer with?
- 1:44:37I mean, for me, it's Mamdani, for sure. It's
- 1:44:39going to be a more, a fun, much more fun evening.
- 1:44:41Please bring your wife. She's very attractive.
- 1:44:44Saeed's going to be bringing, like, all of his
- 1:44:52Y chromosomes. I'm going to be, I don't need
- 1:44:53to be out-butched. All right. Let's
- 1:44:56see. Makaden, we got to talk about, we do have
- 1:44:58to talk about the ACA a little bit. Makaden,
- 1:45:02with all due respect, if I'm pissing on the side
- 1:45:05of the road and a guy comes up next to me and
- 1:45:07whips it out, I'd be uncomfortable with or without
- 1:45:08the conversation. A little bit. You seem to be
- 1:45:12very comfortable with that. I mean, it's not the first time anything like that's
- 1:45:13happened. I'm 63. If you say we need a fake alien
- 1:45:17invasion to unite the empire, maybe the aliens
- 1:45:19can explain to us what a woman is. Do you think
- 1:45:23Trump would be impeached, prosecuted or extradited
- 1:45:23to the Hague or anything at all if he nukes Iran?
- 1:45:28God, what a good question. I don't think so.
- 1:45:31I don't think so. He should be. That would be
- 1:45:34the moment. Should be. Any random, for one any functional government wouldn't have allowed
- 1:45:36him to do it in the first place. True. He would
- 1:45:39be celebrated as a hero. I don't know. I don't
- 1:45:43think so. No. People would be absolutely appalled.
- 1:45:46No I'm not talking about the people. I'm talking
- 1:45:50about the way that the media and the establishment
- 1:45:53would do is that he destroyed this the largest
- 1:45:57terrorism on earth. I've never disagreed with
- 1:46:02you anything more than that. Even Fox News would
- 1:46:05be out the door. Listen, I hope to God I'm wrong.
- 1:46:07Even OAN couldn't be there for him. Yeah, I think
- 1:46:11they would be horrified. They would be horrified.
- 1:46:12Nobody. You said you've already won the war.
- 1:46:15There's that, right? Like you've already said
- 1:46:18they're beat to death. They don't have the military.
- 1:46:20They don't have any of this stuff. They don't
- 1:46:23even know the state. We're going to name the
- 1:46:25state of America. And then you nuke them? Yeah.
- 1:46:27After saying you're going to destroy 90 million
- 1:46:32people? He would be forced to resign within days,
- 1:46:36I think. Like I said before, the man should be
- 1:46:38in prison for even threatening it. But I just
- 1:46:41don't know. I think that the way the propaganda
- 1:46:43would go is like, we received credible intelligence
- 1:46:46that Iran was about to nuke Baltimore. And so
- 1:46:48we acted. I think he would try. But that's like
- 1:46:51saying, do we really believe Iran is nuked now?
