In the 1st chapter of the Life Divine, Sri Rabindo describes
• 0:04
the human aspiration quote. It manifests itself in the
• 0:08
divination of Godhead, the impulse towards perfection, the
• 0:13
search after pure truth and unmixed bliss, the sense of a
• 0:18
secret immortality. The earliest formula of wisdom
• 0:23
promises to be its last God, Light, freedom, immortality.

End Quote. Where and how does this human
• 0:35
aspiration arise? What creates this impulse in the
• 0:39
human life to strive towards the higher ideals exemplified here?
• 0:44
The ancient seers and sages described a flame, the Mystic
• 0:48
fire deep within behind the heart in a secret cave of the
• 0:54
being. It is this Mystic fire that
• 0:58
awakens us to the subtler and higher realities that are the
• 1:02
object of our aspiration. Srioro Bindo identifies this
• 1:08
Mystic element as the soul, a spark of the Divine that slowly
• 1:12
but relentlessly guides us towards the greater light and
• 1:16
truth of the Divine. Purpose and significance in the
• 1:21
  manifestation of the Universal Creation.
• 1:25
He describes the soul and its purpose in various places in his
• 1:28
epic poem Savitri A Legend and a Symbol.

• 1:39
In this investiture of fleshly life, a soul that is a spark of
• 1:44
God survives, and sometimes it breaks through the sordid screen

and Kindles a fire that makes us half divine.

Our soul from its mysterious chamber acts, its influence
• 2:04
pressing on our heart and mind, pushes them to exceed their
• 2:08
mortal selves. It seeks for good and beauty and
• 2:12
for God. We see beyond self's walls, our
• 2:15
limitless self. We gaze through our world's
• 2:19
glass at half seen vasts. We hunt for the truth behind

  apparent things. End Quote.
