- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 61, can you believe it? Lucas: I know. And today, we're heading outdoors. Let's go to the park. Luna: Oh, I love the park. But I don't know how to say that in Spanish. Lucas: Perfect time to learn. Let's start with: Voy al parque. That means 'I go to the park.' Voy al parque. Luna: Voy al parque. Voy al parque. That's pretty straightforward. Lucas: Exactly. Voy al parque. Now, once you're there, you might want to walk. So: Me gusta caminar. 'I like to walk.' Me gusta caminar. Luna: Me gusta caminar. Me gusta... caminar. That's a good one. I like to walk, so that's useful. Lucas: Right. Me gusta caminar. And if you're describing the park itself, you can say: El parque es bonito. 'The park is pretty.' El parque es bonito. Luna: El parque es bonito. Bonito — that's pretty. I remember bonito from something else. Lucas: Probably from 'un día bonito' — a pretty day. So el parque es bonito. Now, what might you see at a park? Trees. Hay muchos árboles. 'There are many trees.' Hay muchos árboles. Luna: Hay muchos árboles. Árboles — trees. I have to remember that one. Lucas: It's a good one. And finally, if you invite someone to stroll with you: Vamos a pasear. 'Let's go for a walk.' Vamos a pasear. Luna: Vamos a pasear. That sounds like a nice invitation. Okay, let me try all of them. Voy al parque. Me gusta caminar. El parque es bonito. Hay muchos árboles. Vamos a pasear. Lucas: You did it. Perfect. And remember, these are great for a sunny afternoon. Luna: Yeah, I can picture myself saying 'Voy al parque' on a nice day. Lucas: Exactly. So let's imagine a little scene. You're walking in the park, and you see a friend. You say: ¡Hola! Voy al parque. Vamos a pasear. Luna: Oh, that's cute. So I'd say 'Voy al parque' to say I'm going there, and then 'Vamos a pasear' to invite them to walk with me. Lucas: Right. And your friend might respond: El parque es bonito. Hay muchos árboles. Luna: And then I'd say: Me gusta caminar. Perfect little conversation. Lucas: Yep. You've got it. Now, let's do a quick practice. I'll say the English, you try the Spanish. Ready? Luna: Ready. Lucas: I go to the park. Luna: Voy al parque. Lucas: I like to walk. Luna: Me gusta caminar. Lucas: The park is pretty. Luna: El parque es bonito. Lucas: There are many trees. Luna: Hay muchos árboles. Lucas: Let's go for a walk. Luna: Vamos a pasear. Lucas: Excellent. You're really getting it. Luna: Thanks. So, if someone were to support the show, where would they go? Lucas: Oh, right. If today's episode was useful to you and you want to keep it ad-free, buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo helps. Luna: Yeah, it's a simple way to support what we do. And we really appreciate it. Lucas: Absolutely. Now, let's keep practicing. Can you think of a place where you might use 'Voy al parque'? Luna: Sure. If I'm telling a friend I'm heading to the park after work. Lucas: Exactly. Or maybe you're talking about your weekend plans. 'Los sábados, voy al parque.' On Saturdays, I go to the park. Luna: Los sábados, voy al parque. That adds the day. Good idea. Lucas: And you could say 'Me gusta caminar en el parque.' I like to walk in the park. Luna: Me gusta caminar en el parque. That's a full sentence. Lucas: Right. So today we learned: Voy al parque, Me gusta caminar, El parque es bonito, Hay muchos árboles, and Vamos a pasear. Luna: That's five phrases. I feel like I could have a little conversation at the park now. Lucas: You absolutely could. Keep practicing these, and next time you're outdoors, try saying them out loud. Luna: I will. Thanks, Lucas. Lucas: Thanks, Luna. And thanks to all our listeners. Practice these till we chat again.
