  know him better so we can love and obey

  him more. Let's huddle up and hear

  today's play from Romans 5 says, "Since
• 0:15
  we have come to be considered righteous
• 0:17
  by God because of our trust, let us
• 0:19
  continue to have peace with God through
• 0:22
  our Lord Jesus the Messiah. Also through
• 0:25
  him and on the ground of our trust,
• 0:27
  we've gained access to this grace in
• 0:29
  which we stand. So let us boast about
• 0:31
  the hope of experiencing God's glory.

  But not only that, let us also boast in
• 0:36
  our troubles because we know that our
• 0:38
  troubles produce endurance. Endurance
• 0:40
  produces character and character
• 0:42
  produces hope. Paul tells us this.
• 0:45
  Because of our trust in Jesus, we now
• 0:47
  have peace with God. We stand in grace
• 0:50
  and even more we both in hope. But Paul
• 0:53
  doesn't stop there. He says, "We boasted
• 0:56
  our troubles." That's where this gets
• 0:57
  real. Let's play out what I'd call the
• 1:00
  three-fold duty of the Christian man.

  First, remain at peace with God. That
• 1:05
  peace was purchased by Jesus's
• 1:07
  obedience, not ours. But we guard that
• 1:10
  peace by living in grateful obedience.
• 1:12
  We don't obey God to earn his love. We
• 1:15
  obey God because we've already received
• 1:17
  it. Second, we proclaim the hope we
• 1:20
  possess. Men without Christ have no
• 1:22
  certain future beyond the grave. But men
• 1:25
  who trust in Jesus, his life, his death,
• 1:27
  and his resurrection carry an unshakable
• 1:30
  hope. And hope that stays silent isn't
• 1:33
  biblical hope. If grace saved you,
• 1:35
  testimony should follow you. Third,
• 1:38
  persevere through suffering. Paul says,
• 1:40
  "Trouble produces perseverance,
• 1:42
  endurance produces character, and
• 1:44
  character produces hope." Suffering is
• 1:47
  not proof of God who abandoned you.
• 1:49
  Often it's proof that he's forming you.
• 1:52
  Christian men don't waste pain. You let
• 1:54
  God use it. This matters because
• 1:57
  pressure is coming. Trials are coming.
• 1:59
  And if your faith only works when life
• 2:01
  is easy, it won't last. Grace is where
• 2:04
  you stand. Hope is what you proclaim.

  Endurance is how you finish. You don't
• 2:09
  boast in suffering because it feels
• 2:11
  good. You boast because God is doing
• 2:13
  something through it. So run today's
• 2:16
  play. Stand firm in grace. Guard your
• 2:18
  peace with God through obedience. Speak
• 2:21
  openly about the hope Christ has secured
• 2:23
  for you. And don't walk through hardship
• 2:26
  alone. Jesus is worth a cost and his
• 2:29
  glory is the finish line. If this huddle
