- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with our radio. Hey guys, and welcome to the Almost
- 0:06Speaker 1: Famous Podcast. It's the finale recap episode. Oh my goodness
- 0:15Speaker 1: is right. Wow. I've never been so heart working for
- 0:18Speaker 1: a runner up in my life. So there's there's man
- 0:22Speaker 1: tears all across the US last night, just men and
- 0:25Speaker 1: women crying for Brandon or guy. Um, do you have
- 0:31Speaker 1: anything to like? Any life updates before we jump into
- 0:34Speaker 1: the pod, like the recap, I mean the big stuff
- 0:38Speaker 1: right now is obviously the holidays are coming up. When
- 0:43Speaker 1: we've got to we've got to take a second. Just
- 0:45Speaker 1: wish everybody the best family time, friend time. If you're
- 0:49Speaker 1: stuck at home, uh and you're just hanging out because
- 0:53Speaker 1: of for whatever reasons this year, I hope you can
- 0:56Speaker 1: find some joy in that, some celebration that the culture
- 1:00Speaker 1: on a Christmas So you can watch him and I
- 1:03Speaker 1: got a tattoo last night. That's a big deal. That
- 1:07Speaker 1: is a big family update. Why didn't I write that down?
- 1:11Speaker 1: So your your husband L O L. Your dad has
- 1:15Speaker 1: been married for thirty eight years, okay, but he's never
- 1:21Speaker 1: worn a ring. I'm like, okay, don't tell your dad.
- 1:24Speaker 1: But I'm not down for that. Okay, I like it
- 1:26Speaker 1: when a man wears a wedding ring. I get it.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I do. Uh yeah, you know he has these like
- 1:31Speaker 1: little like you know the people that have like little
- 1:33Speaker 1: sausage fingers. Well, he's got that. He's got a weird knuckle,
- 1:37Speaker 1: and I have never known him to wear a ring.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And I've also never known a man who loves his
- 1:43Speaker 1: wife more. And so after a while, I honestly just
- 1:48Speaker 1: think my mom was like whatever, Like I'm it's not
- 1:50Speaker 1: even an issue to argue with this because I'd like
- 1:52Speaker 1: he I know she would like she just needs it's cool. Um.
- 1:56Speaker 1: But after thirty eight years, you know, some things go
- 1:58Speaker 1: out the window and just kind of get And so
- 2:01Speaker 1: I don't like the idea of a ring, not because
- 2:04Speaker 1: I don't like the idea of a symbol wearing. I
- 2:06Speaker 1: get really like fidgety with rings. I've never been a
- 2:09Speaker 1: little wear a ring. I've never been like fine, I
- 2:11Speaker 1: always take it off, I flip it. I would get
- 2:13Speaker 1: super nervous of losing it. And so I always knew
- 2:16Speaker 1: I want to get a tattoo. Even when Jess and
- 2:17Speaker 1: I started dating, I was like, I would like to
- 2:19Speaker 1: get a ring tattoo, and then I have a ring
- 2:21Speaker 1: to wear on special occasions. And then I thought, well,
- 2:24Speaker 1: why don't I do this with my dad. I think
- 2:26Speaker 1: he'd be down for it. My dad doesn't have any
- 2:27Speaker 1: tattoos now, and so I asked him and he immediately
- 2:32Speaker 1: said yes, he's like that's a great idea. And then
- 2:35Speaker 1: my mom like got emotional about it. She's like, he's
- 2:38Speaker 1: never wear a ring and now he's gonna get one
- 2:39Speaker 1: tattooed on. This is so special. So yeah, well yesterday
- 2:42Speaker 1: he got tattoos. It was it was great. How do
- 2:44Speaker 1: he tolerate it? I don't have a tattoo, so I
- 2:46Speaker 1: don't know how it feels. Uh, the fingers like super easy.
- 2:50Speaker 1: The finger really like doesn't hurt at all. There's like
- 2:51Speaker 1: very little nerves there. And so he just sat there.
- 2:54Speaker 1: He he was funny, He acted real tough. He kind
- 2:57Speaker 1: of like had a little swagger walking at a tattoo
- 3:00Speaker 1: parlor because he's tatted up. It was pretty good. Hey,
- 3:04Speaker 1: can we get our producers in here for a second.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Just as like a pole, do you guys look out
- 3:08Speaker 1: for wedding rings when you look at just anyone, like
- 3:11Speaker 1: I know that, well, some of you guys are married,
- 3:14Speaker 1: some of you are single. Do you look for wedding bands?
- 3:17Speaker 1: Does it say anything about a human? I think it.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I think it does. I mean, I'm so old school,
- 3:23Speaker 1: but when I see a ring on a guy's finger,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I definitely think like, oh, somebody um wants to be
- 3:31Speaker 1: with him. You know, he must be like a kind
- 3:33Speaker 1: of a stand up guy, reliable, loyal, committed. I think
- 3:37Speaker 1: it says a lot. Um. Danielle, our producer says, definitely
- 3:42Speaker 1: looks out for one um, and then one of our says,
- 3:46Speaker 1: I look out and judge. Apparently they all look. So
- 3:51Speaker 1: my question now is like, do people look at people
- 3:55Speaker 1: like your dad who haven't warn a ring and been like, oh,
- 3:57Speaker 1: that man is single. Do they automatically assume he's single?
- 4:00Speaker 1: Or do they think, oh, he could be married and
- 4:02Speaker 1: doesn't wear a ring. It does that matter? Doesn't matter
- 4:08Speaker 1: what's wrong with me? I don't know if it matters.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I really don't. I mean, I you know, I think
- 4:13Speaker 1: I think it's a good pull to take. However, here's
- 4:16Speaker 1: what the guy told me that was giving me the
- 4:18Speaker 1: tattoo last night. He goes, sometimes it's more dangerous to
- 4:22Speaker 1: wear a ring out for a guy and a girl
- 4:24Speaker 1: because some people like that too. People like the challenge,
- 4:28Speaker 1: right challenge, and that's messed up. Yes, I'm not okay
- 4:32Speaker 1: with any part of that, but uh, you know, I
- 4:35Speaker 1: just don't think it's that big of a deal because
- 4:38Speaker 1: here's the truth, ring or not. I'm a married man.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I'm a happily married man. I'm a committed married man
- 4:42Speaker 1: that won't change, like, um, even if life goes sideways
- 4:46Speaker 1: and we have a really hard season, that's not going
- 4:48Speaker 1: to change for me. But that's the commitment I made
- 4:51Speaker 1: when I stood at the altar, and so yes, a
- 4:53Speaker 1: ring is a really good way to like publicly show that.
- 4:57Speaker 1: And I think that would just throw with the listeners. Listeners,
- 4:58Speaker 1: what do you think? Did I make a tear a decision?
- 5:01Speaker 1: You know, I love your tattoo ring. Your tattoo ring
- 5:04Speaker 1: counts just as much if not, you know, if not more,
- 5:07Speaker 1: that is temporary. That is not that's not temporary, That
- 5:10Speaker 1: is not temporary, that is super permanent. You can't take
- 5:14Speaker 1: it off like talk about commitment. You can't have anyone
- 5:18Speaker 1: come up to you like you could never like go
- 5:20Speaker 1: out and not wear your ring and be like, oh,
- 5:23Speaker 1: I'm not wearing my ring. Let's see if any girls
- 5:25Speaker 1: come up to me like, no, you got it there?
- 5:28Speaker 1: I love it. And last night last night, Michelle got
- 5:32Speaker 1: a ring, a beautiful real lane ring. Oh, we're gonna
- 5:37Speaker 1: talk all about it here. Coming up, Let's take a break.
- 5:39Speaker 1: We come back with the Almost Fous podcast. We're gonna
- 5:41Speaker 1: break down the finale episode for Michelle's season. It was
- 5:45Speaker 1: an emotional one. We'renna talk about Caitlin Bristow uh kind
- 5:49Speaker 1: of shockingly with surprise hosting the finale alone. We're also
- 5:54Speaker 1: gonna talk about Ashley's reactions and did she cry last
- 5:57Speaker 1: night watching the episode. Will be back with the Almost
- 5:59Speaker 1: series pot guests. All right, let's start off by talking
- 6:12Speaker 1: about Caitlin. Because Caitlin, I guess last minute, got word
- 6:16Speaker 1: that she was going to have to host the finale herself.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Tasia had been exposed to COVID wasn't able to be
- 6:22Speaker 1: up there with her. It was Caitlin's first live show.
- 6:25Speaker 1: She was already nervous about it being live because these
- 6:27Speaker 1: other um you know, mental alls and the other um
- 6:31Speaker 1: after final rows that they did was pre taped, so
- 6:35Speaker 1: she was already more nervous about this one. And I
- 6:38Speaker 1: just got to say, I think she did the most
- 6:42Speaker 1: amazing job, Like given all the extra pressure, I think
- 6:45Speaker 1: that it was her best performance as a host. I agree.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I mean, and there's so many things about that live show.
- 6:54Speaker 1: It's difficult, you know, reading from a teleprompter and making
- 6:56Speaker 1: it seem natural, so hard, harder than you ever and
- 7:02Speaker 1: what people don't know what many people do, but what
- 7:05Speaker 1: you know, what I was surprised by when I was
- 7:07Speaker 1: the show is mental. All is not live. It's in
- 7:09Speaker 1: front of a live audience, but there stops, their starts,
- 7:12Speaker 1: It takes eight hours to film. There's there's stuff that
- 7:16Speaker 1: they cut out after Funnel Rose is completely live and
- 7:19Speaker 1: she is on. If she messes up, it's on her.
- 7:22Speaker 1: If she gets nervous and loses her train of thought. Me,
- 7:24Speaker 1: how many times and and I think most listeners can
- 7:27Speaker 1: relate with this, How many times have you been doing
- 7:30Speaker 1: something that you're super familiar with it, you're super confident
- 7:32Speaker 1: and you just like have a brain fart, like you
- 7:34Speaker 1: just totally blank out. Like Caitlin did great. Um, she
- 7:40Speaker 1: really showed off how good she is at this and
- 7:41Speaker 1: how naturally good as she is at this, because like
- 7:44Speaker 1: you were saying, it's not like Caitlin had a week
- 7:46Speaker 1: to prep knowing this was coming up, Like she just
- 7:49Speaker 1: had to jump into and be like, I'm gonna give
- 7:50Speaker 1: it my best shot. And she did awesome. She also
- 7:53Speaker 1: like made it her own. You know, you can tell
- 7:55Speaker 1: like the little things that she added to make it
- 7:56Speaker 1: her own, and she got a lot of warmth, especially
- 7:58Speaker 1: when talking to Brandon. I loved her performance. Good job, bravo, Caitlin.
- 8:04Speaker 1: She should be so proud. We are so proud of her. Alright, yes, Ben,
- 8:10Speaker 1: And if you want to listen more of Caitlin, we
- 8:12Speaker 1: just recorded an episode with her last week that's out
- 8:15Speaker 1: that you should go back and listen to. This is
- 8:16Speaker 1: before she knew she was going to be the live
- 8:19Speaker 1: host alone, but she did talk a lot about hosting
- 8:22Speaker 1: kind of her philosophy going into it. So they sure
- 8:24Speaker 1: you go back and check that out. The alright, so
- 8:27Speaker 1: let's start out with the first you know, big moments.
- 8:31Speaker 1: We see that you know, you know, Brandon is meeting
- 8:35Speaker 1: the family again. We already had Brandon meet the family
- 8:38Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago, back when they're filming in Minnesota.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I thought, you know, they thought he was a sweet guy.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Then I don't know that they were overwhelmed with love
- 8:47Speaker 1: for him. Then, um they were. It seemed like his
- 8:52Speaker 1: dad was her dad was a little bit shy around him.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Then um didn't have a lot to say. And this
- 9:00Speaker 1: time it was like the family was just in love
- 9:05Speaker 1: with Brandon. They the dad gave his blessing. Um. Brandon
- 9:10Speaker 1: says that he would move to Minnesota, which is of
- 9:11Speaker 1: course they loved her. Mom said that they would be
- 9:16Speaker 1: so happy if Brandon was part of the family, said
- 9:19Speaker 1: that she could just see in Brandon's eyes that he
- 9:22Speaker 1: really loves her. Like everybody was just like I want
- 9:25Speaker 1: to I want you to be part of the family.
- 9:26Speaker 1: And then Brandon was like I really want to be
- 9:28Speaker 1: part of this family, and you're like, okay, this poor
- 9:32Speaker 1: Nate has like just no chance now. Oh. I mean
- 9:36Speaker 1: it was really a turning point for us too, is
- 9:39Speaker 1: when Brandon started to just become another character and then
- 9:42Speaker 1: actually started to be a front runner. I mean he
- 9:45Speaker 1: was always a front runner, but we were like, oh
- 9:48Speaker 1: my gosh, like this guy, he connects. They like him.
- 9:51Speaker 1: And then last week, after she got rid of Joe
- 9:54Speaker 1: kept Brandon around. I was really like, I think this
- 9:57Speaker 1: might be the dude he might be a shocker toes. Yeah,
- 10:00Speaker 1: I thought last week that last week was the first
- 10:04Speaker 1: week I started thinking, like, Okay, I think they're like
- 10:08Speaker 1: is unequal, Like I feel like he is so in
- 10:11Speaker 1: love head over heels with this girl, and I think
- 10:15Speaker 1: she she likes him and loves him, you know what
- 10:17Speaker 1: I mean, she really likes him and she loves him
- 10:19Speaker 1: as a person. And this week he was saying, was
- 10:23Speaker 1: so much certainty, I can't wait to marry her. Just
- 10:27Speaker 1: was like I'm spending the rest of my life with her.
- 10:29Speaker 1: It was with such certainty. And then at the end
- 10:32Speaker 1: of the night because you know, oh no, no, whoops,
- 10:34Speaker 1: I forgot. First we meet, Nate meets to the families,
- 10:37Speaker 1: and then they have the one on one day. It's okay,
- 10:39Speaker 1: so let's go into Nate meeting the family. He does
- 10:42Speaker 1: not exactly show up the way that Brendan does. He's
- 10:48Speaker 1: obviously far more nervous. He has less like flowy, flowery language, right,
- 10:54Speaker 1: and it seems like the family likes the flowery language.
- 10:58Speaker 1: They like how open and invulnerable he is, which, of course,
- 11:02Speaker 1: like every family is going to want to hear all
- 11:04Speaker 1: those amazing things like I think your daughter is the
- 11:07Speaker 1: most incredible person that can't want the rest of my
- 11:09Speaker 1: life with her. Like every family wants to hear this,
- 11:12Speaker 1: but Nate's like not really good at verbalizing it. But
- 11:15Speaker 1: at the same time, like, how weird is it to
- 11:19Speaker 1: say that stuff to a family that you're meaning for
- 11:23Speaker 1: the very first time. Yeah, it's it's a different philosophy
- 11:28Speaker 1: now to kind of go on Nate side for a second.
- 11:33Speaker 1: We saw it with his own family. It's not like
- 11:35Speaker 1: he's putting on a show here and not like he doesn't.
- 11:37Speaker 1: He doesn't. He doesn't have the it doesn't seem like
- 11:41Speaker 1: he has that family dynamic where he knows what to
- 11:45Speaker 1: say because there hasn't been that openness in that vulnerability.
- 11:48Speaker 1: We saw that and can kind of draw the parallels
- 11:50Speaker 1: now between Michelle's family and how he felt with his family.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Never say I love you to his own dad, Like
- 11:57Speaker 1: he's not going to be like saying like I love
- 11:59Speaker 1: your daughter. This can that they meet No, And I mean,
- 12:02Speaker 1: my biggest not criticism of Brandon, to go back to
- 12:06Speaker 1: Brandon for a second, has always been that I felt
- 12:08Speaker 1: like he's always chasing after like he's trying really hardness.
- 12:12Speaker 1: It's disingenuous. I mean, obviously we now we see like
- 12:15Speaker 1: how much he does care about her. But like I
- 12:17Speaker 1: was always like, you know, I just want this dude
- 12:19Speaker 1: to relax a little bit, Like I want to see
- 12:20Speaker 1: him just be him and like not be not say
- 12:23Speaker 1: the right thing and not be always like super excited,
- 12:26Speaker 1: just like be him. And they, you know, was the
- 12:28Speaker 1: guy that definitely was a little bit like more calm
- 12:32Speaker 1: and collected to this whole season. Um. But but he
- 12:36Speaker 1: lost his fitting here. He definitely wasn't like he wasn't
- 12:40Speaker 1: collected here. You can see that he was at a
- 12:41Speaker 1: loss for words. He was visibly nervous. But it's okay.
- 12:45Speaker 1: You Like, I wanted to keep defending him because, like
- 12:50Speaker 1: I think, meeting the parents is already a nerve racking thing,
- 12:53Speaker 1: let alone in this environment. And they didn't let him
- 12:58Speaker 1: down easy at all. They were asking tough questions. They're
- 13:01Speaker 1: talking about moving to Minnesota. He was kind of vague
- 13:04Speaker 1: about that. Uh, they didn't they didn't like that. Um.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Then even his her mom said, like, we didn't get
- 13:15Speaker 1: like the warm vibes from him right off the bat
- 13:17Speaker 1: like we did with Brendan. The mom initially says that
- 13:21Speaker 1: Brandon was a warmer personality right off the bat. She
- 13:26Speaker 1: then tells Michelle that she doesn't think that Nate is
- 13:31Speaker 1: ready for engagement, and Michelle gets really emotional about this.
- 13:38Speaker 1: She faces Nate afterward, you know, they leave the family,
- 13:41Speaker 1: and she tries to reassure He says he's very much
- 13:45Speaker 1: ready to get down on one knee. Um, he just
- 13:47Speaker 1: doesn't like like being basically, I totally understand what he's
- 13:51Speaker 1: going through. He doesn't want to count his eggs before
- 13:54Speaker 1: they hatch. Right, So the family is like, well, what
- 13:57Speaker 1: about this? Like what about that? Like what if you
- 13:59Speaker 1: aren't the last one, the last guy standing? And he's like,
- 14:02Speaker 1: I don't really want to think about that. Like I'm
- 14:04Speaker 1: trying not to put any negativity out there, and me,
- 14:07Speaker 1: as somebody who like is all about the power of positivity,
- 14:12Speaker 1: I also wouldn't want to put that out there. You
- 14:16Speaker 1: want to project what you want, and like, I don't know.
- 14:22Speaker 1: So I feel like he just gets awkward about talking
- 14:25Speaker 1: about certain things because he's just like, um, I am
- 14:29Speaker 1: just hoping that that's not how it goes. Uh, So
- 14:35Speaker 1: like he just yeah, I don't know. I mean, Ashley,
- 14:39Speaker 1: here's the thing. I know it's confusing, but and I'm
- 14:43Speaker 1: not like not understanding where rene comes from, because I
- 14:47Speaker 1: do get it, and it's a weird circumstance. But when
- 14:50Speaker 1: you fall in love, you do throw all your eggs
- 14:54Speaker 1: in one basket, like you're ready to do anything to
- 14:56Speaker 1: make that happen. Okay, you're right, Ben, darn it, you know.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I mean you would, just I was just expecting, well,
- 15:06Speaker 1: you can. And I'm not saying like I don't trust
- 15:09Speaker 1: the dude or believe in him or think it's real.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I hope they work, and I'm like, I'm super happy.
- 15:13Speaker 1: But I liked all these guys that were down in
- 15:15Speaker 1: the final couple of weeks, like I think they're all
- 15:17Speaker 1: like good dudes, but like when you fall in love, actually,
- 15:23Speaker 1: when you fall in love, like you throw all your
- 15:26Speaker 1: eggs in one basket. When you fall in love, you
- 15:28Speaker 1: commit to whatever the good and the bad is going
- 15:31Speaker 1: to be that comes to you. And so I was
- 15:35Speaker 1: a little surprised with Nate and still his reservations around
- 15:40Speaker 1: the family and around this week, because in my mind,
- 15:46Speaker 1: and not everybody is going to handle love the same way,
- 15:52Speaker 1: but in my mind, Brandon just was so all in
- 15:54Speaker 1: in that it made me nervous for where Nate stands,
- 15:59Speaker 1: and that's it. I'll say, you're just right. You're right,
- 16:04Speaker 1: because I'm thinking about how I've handled my experiences on
- 16:07Speaker 1: the show, and I have been like I was more
- 16:12Speaker 1: out there than ever when it came to like me
- 16:15Speaker 1: being like I need this, I want this, like I'm
- 16:18Speaker 1: not going to give up on this, even though like
- 16:21Speaker 1: in real life, I probably would have been a little
- 16:23Speaker 1: bit more reserved. So this process, in my experience, made
- 16:28Speaker 1: me more vocal about everything. It looks like it made
- 16:31Speaker 1: Brandon more vocal about everything, and it made Nate well,
- 16:35Speaker 1: maybe just stay the same. I didn't see a lot
- 16:40Speaker 1: of and you can listeners, please are you that's part
- 16:44Speaker 1: of this. But I didn't see a lot of advancement
- 16:51Speaker 1: emotionally or romantically from Nate from the start of the season.
- 16:57Speaker 1: To be it well, Michelle says that she did, and
- 17:00Speaker 1: then she says, we didn't see it. Okay, we didn't
- 17:03Speaker 1: see it. No, we didn't see much. We didn't see much.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I do think that, like at the proposal, we did.
- 17:10Speaker 1: The proposal was a turning point. And then she says
- 17:16Speaker 1: on after the final rows that now like he's just
- 17:19Speaker 1: as vulnerable and communicative as she has been, if not
- 17:23Speaker 1: more so, that's that's great, and you would hope the
- 17:27Speaker 1: proposal would be a really good romantic, emotional stamp place
- 17:31Speaker 1: where you would say, Hey, I love you and I
- 17:33Speaker 1: want to commit to you. I trust her, I mean
- 17:36Speaker 1: I always have. Michelle, I think is one of been
- 17:38Speaker 1: one of the best all around leads this show has
- 17:41Speaker 1: ever seen. I think she did it really well. I
- 17:43Speaker 1: think she handled the controversy well, the drama well. I
- 17:46Speaker 1: think she asked good questions. So I do trust her
- 17:51Speaker 1: obviously with this, and I have to believe that I'm
- 17:54Speaker 1: just saying as a viewers standpoint, because that's the only
- 17:56Speaker 1: place I could come from is I didn't see it.
- 17:59Speaker 1: And that why I was more reserved on date than
- 18:01Speaker 1: I was with Brandon when it came to how they
- 18:04Speaker 1: felt about Michelle. I completely concur All right, let's get
- 18:09Speaker 1: into Brandon and Michelle's last date. The big thing is
- 18:14Speaker 1: that Michelle starts out by saying that she is really
- 18:16Speaker 1: falling for Brandon, but doesn't want to go into an
- 18:19Speaker 1: engagement falling in love. She wants to be in love,
- 18:22Speaker 1: and the big moment is that she legitimately tells Brandon
- 18:27Speaker 1: while sitting down on the couch during like their final
- 18:31Speaker 1: you know alone moments together, says I'm not falling with
- 18:36Speaker 1: for you, I love you, and we in that moment,
- 18:42Speaker 1: I think as an audience, we were like, okay, so
- 18:45Speaker 1: she's gonna pick him or she's gonna pull Ben Higgins
- 18:47Speaker 1: and say I love you to two people, which so
- 18:51Speaker 1: many people have done since, which so many I mean,
- 18:54Speaker 1: it just seems like it's became a good, a really good,
- 18:58Speaker 1: like at least people now are saying it. Uh. This
- 19:03Speaker 1: this was intense because I think you can make a
- 19:06Speaker 1: lot of parallels with this in my experience where you
- 19:10Speaker 1: don't know. I think she was conflicted. I think she
- 19:12Speaker 1: was confused. I think there was a lot of emotions
- 19:16Speaker 1: running around, and I think she had two incredible people
- 19:18Speaker 1: standing in front of her. She had really strong feelings
- 19:21Speaker 1: from both uh, and so I get it. I have.
- 19:25Speaker 1: I saw you know, Twitter last night, and I saw
- 19:28Speaker 1: the not they hate. I don't think Michelle has got
- 19:30Speaker 1: a lot of hate, but I saw the differences of
- 19:32Speaker 1: opinions on what she did and why she said it.
- 19:37Speaker 1: But when you're in the moment, you feel like, hey,
- 19:39Speaker 1: if I'm going to at least for me saying goodbye
- 19:43Speaker 1: to somebody, and I don't know quite who, and that
- 19:45Speaker 1: feels weird to be I at least want to to
- 19:48Speaker 1: know how much I care. That's pretty much what she
- 19:51Speaker 1: says on after the final rest, She's like, I just
- 19:53Speaker 1: didn't want to hold back, like that's how I was feeling,
- 19:56Speaker 1: and I wanted you to know that's how much you
- 19:58Speaker 1: meant to me. I think in five years, you know,
- 20:03Speaker 1: hopefully she's still with Nate, thinks are great. She can
- 20:07Speaker 1: take a second breathe and look back and say that
- 20:09Speaker 1: maybe it wasn't the wisest thing. That's what I would
- 20:11Speaker 1: say about myself, wasn't it wasn't the wisest thing. I
- 20:14Speaker 1: was definitely letting my emotions speak from my mind. But
- 20:18Speaker 1: in the moment, it's so hard to know what the
- 20:23Speaker 1: right thing to do is. You really just have to
- 20:25Speaker 1: start saying I'm gonna say whatever I feel and whatever
- 20:28Speaker 1: I do it is true, and I'm just gonna say
- 20:30Speaker 1: it and hopefully it works out, and if it does,
- 20:32Speaker 1: it I don't know what to do about it. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:37Speaker 1: I understand. I wonder if Michelle knew though in that moment,
- 20:42Speaker 1: that she was going to pick Nate, Like I wonder
- 20:44Speaker 1: how long she knew because you know, it's just one
- 20:49Speaker 1: of them. It's another one of those first impression Rose things.
- 20:53Speaker 1: You know, we have a long list. I think at
- 20:55Speaker 1: the end of the episode, we're going to talk about, um,
- 20:57Speaker 1: all the leads that have picked their first and shown
- 21:00Speaker 1: and it's like love at first sight. Right, Well, I
- 21:03Speaker 1: think you're gonna have the opportunity to talk to Michelle,
- 21:05Speaker 1: aren't you. Pretty soon you can be asking this question, Yes,
- 21:09Speaker 1: let's do I'll do that. Um. But that reminds me
- 21:12Speaker 1: of just like I'm thinking maybe going off of the
- 21:16Speaker 1: family date, the you know, the family meeting, maybe Michelle
- 21:20Speaker 1: was like, I really should be with Brendan Brandon. I
- 21:26Speaker 1: wonder if she felt a lot of pressure from that.
- 21:27Speaker 1: That is something I'm going to ask her to And
- 21:31Speaker 1: how relatable is that on this Uh when we watch
- 21:34Speaker 1: the show. For those that are listening that have been
- 21:37Speaker 1: fans of the show and the podcast for years, how
- 21:40Speaker 1: many times it really stands out to me? Was the
- 21:45Speaker 1: Peter and one that almost says well yeah, but laughable
- 21:48Speaker 1: now is the Jojo season with Robbie. Uh in Jordan's
- 21:52Speaker 1: where the family loved Robbie. They did Eileen remember that
- 21:57Speaker 1: oh my, yes, you know, sometimes the family doesn't always
- 22:02Speaker 1: know the whole story or that, you know, they just
- 22:05Speaker 1: get to get some pieces when somebody can turn it
- 22:07Speaker 1: on for a couple of minutes and really be likable.
- 22:11Speaker 1: So I don't look too far into that. But yeah,
- 22:14Speaker 1: I this one was hard because unlike you know, I
- 22:19Speaker 1: would like to think this, but unlike maybe Jojo season Brandon,
- 22:23Speaker 1: I think is as really through the whole episode two
- 22:26Speaker 1: and through the live showing, he drew out of fans
- 22:29Speaker 1: because they can tell he was ready and he was open,
- 22:32Speaker 1: and he was just being himself the best he could
- 22:34Speaker 1: and he didn't want anything out of this other of
- 22:36Speaker 1: the Michelle. And that's why I think so many people
- 22:38Speaker 1: react so strongly emotionally, a lot of people to his
- 22:44Speaker 1: conversation with Caitlin and then his conversation with Michelle. Yeah,
- 22:48Speaker 1: and he continues to call Michelle like his future wife
- 22:52Speaker 1: with certainty throughout the episode, throughout the date, but to
- 22:56Speaker 1: the next day Michelle has her last date with Nate
- 23:00Speaker 1: in which he really does have like that conversation for
- 23:04Speaker 1: the first time where it's probably that scene when they
- 23:07Speaker 1: were on the bench. So let's take a break here
- 23:11Speaker 1: then and when we come back, we're to talk about
- 23:13Speaker 1: that conversation on the bench because it is one that
- 23:16Speaker 1: seems to be at turning point for Michelle and Nate
- 23:19Speaker 1: and for so many watching, So we'll come back with
- 23:21Speaker 1: all the sus podcasts. Before this bench conversation, we see
- 23:36Speaker 1: him super awkward with a shaman and the shaman's like,
- 23:39Speaker 1: you have walls up, and I'm like, oh gosh, Nate's
- 23:42Speaker 1: really like in the bed here. I feel like Brandon
- 23:46Speaker 1: is the shoe in. Michelle is not gonna be able
- 23:49Speaker 1: to like go into finale day with with this guy
- 23:52Speaker 1: that just seems like too uncertain about everything. Um. But
- 23:58Speaker 1: then they have this bench conversation him and he goes like,
- 24:02Speaker 1: I came on this show with two suits thinking I
- 24:04Speaker 1: was not going to make it to the end, and
- 24:07Speaker 1: now here I am. I'm madly in love. This could
- 24:09Speaker 1: be like that. You could be like the person I'm
- 24:12Speaker 1: going to be with for the rest of my life.
- 24:14Speaker 1: He says that he's scared that he's gonna get heartbroken.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Michelle is like, this is what I wanted you to
- 24:20Speaker 1: be saying the entire time. She's like I'm scared as well.
- 24:24Speaker 1: And then he was like this could be like my
- 24:27Speaker 1: last conversation before proposal. He worries if he's expressing himself enough,
- 24:32Speaker 1: like I think he's like, I keep trying, like I've
- 24:35Speaker 1: never wanted to be more expressive in my life. Michelle
- 24:39Speaker 1: says that she's really stressed out, and Nate says that
- 24:43Speaker 1: he's happy that the conversation with her mom. You know
- 24:49Speaker 1: that the conversation with her mom in which she said,
- 24:53Speaker 1: I don't think that he's ready to get engaged, was
- 24:57Speaker 1: actually what started this ben conversation. So therefore he's happy
- 25:03Speaker 1: that it like they had it so like now they
- 25:05Speaker 1: can really hash this out. But he says that he's
- 25:08Speaker 1: now never been more certain about somebody. He's ready for
- 25:11Speaker 1: a proposal. Um. He all he does all day long
- 25:16Speaker 1: is think about the rest of his life with her,
- 25:19Speaker 1: and he's scared that if he walks away tomorrow and
- 25:22Speaker 1: then when when he wakes up tomorrow, it could be
- 25:25Speaker 1: the last day that he ever gets to see Michelle.
- 25:29Speaker 1: And then they tell each other that they love her,
- 25:31Speaker 1: that you know that they love each other, and it's
- 25:35Speaker 1: anoint it is it is it's it's something that was needed.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I think leading up to that last proposal, it was
- 25:45Speaker 1: a turning point for us. Can I pause you for
- 25:48Speaker 1: a second and get your feedback on something this shaman deal?
- 25:53Speaker 1: Why do they love saman so much? Yeah? That's that
- 25:56Speaker 1: was My thing is like this seems helpful, it seems cool,
- 25:58Speaker 1: but it comes up every season? Is this little like
- 26:02Speaker 1: either intimacy coach or shaman? Uh? You know it just
- 26:06Speaker 1: it doesn't do much for me as as a date
- 26:09Speaker 1: idea because typically in my memory, maybe somebody can correct me,
- 26:16Speaker 1: the shaman usually just brings up insecurities or negativity around
- 26:19Speaker 1: the relationship for the person. That's usually what happens here
- 26:22Speaker 1: is like the thing we all expect this person by
- 26:27Speaker 1: the way, I'm sitting outside, I'm sorry, it's the only
- 26:28Speaker 1: place I have in the house, but that you can
- 26:32Speaker 1: hear mower going why. But uh, typically the only the
- 26:37Speaker 1: only thing that comes up as negativity and it doesn't
- 26:40Speaker 1: ever seem helpful for relationship. Maybe here it was because
- 26:43Speaker 1: it did allow them to start talking. But I don't
- 26:45Speaker 1: know if I'm a fan of them, of those dates,
- 26:48Speaker 1: of those dates, I know it's probably just the producer's
- 26:51Speaker 1: way of a topic being brought up that maybe it
- 26:55Speaker 1: wouldn't have been natural for either one of the couple
- 26:58Speaker 1: to bring up. Okay, So then they get back from
- 27:03Speaker 1: their date and Michelle has a note from Brandon. It's
- 27:07Speaker 1: like the most over the top thing. It makes me
- 27:10Speaker 1: just cringe now thinking that she's going to pick Nate
- 27:15Speaker 1: because at the end of their date she says something like,
- 27:19Speaker 1: my heart is telling me that Nate is my person.
- 27:22Speaker 1: And now she just has to get hit with this
- 27:25Speaker 1: guilt in a way. You know, just this guy who
- 27:28Speaker 1: just is talking so much about his love for her
- 27:32Speaker 1: now and forever and even if it's not him, that
- 27:36Speaker 1: she needs to follow her heart and that like he's
- 27:40Speaker 1: never loved like this ever, and like it's such a
- 27:44Speaker 1: selfless love and it's just like, oh my god, this
- 27:47Speaker 1: guy is like he's gonna be broken, and I can't
- 27:53Speaker 1: watch this guy be so broken. I all I want
- 27:56Speaker 1: is that is like, well, guess this is this is
- 28:00Speaker 1: the Bachelor lead in right, like his future Bachelor application.
- 28:06Speaker 1: But it's just like all I want is this guy
- 28:08Speaker 1: to find somebody who loves him the same way that
- 28:11Speaker 1: he is capable of loving another. Um. Yeah, yeah, both
- 28:20Speaker 1: he's not I mean not that not that it couldn't
- 28:26Speaker 1: happen down the road, but still it just seems like
- 28:29Speaker 1: it would have made a lot of sense. But I
- 28:31Speaker 1: guess it would have if it was spoiled, you know,
- 28:34Speaker 1: like if Brandon was the bachelor. There's no way if
- 28:39Speaker 1: I understand why, I understand why this has happened. You know,
- 28:42Speaker 1: you can't hide the filming of Clayton, you know, like
- 28:47Speaker 1: you just can't hide it. So they couldn't have had
- 28:50Speaker 1: Brandon be the bachelor because then the entire season of
- 28:54Speaker 1: Michelle's would have been totally ruined and spoiled. Anyway, both
- 29:00Speaker 1: guys picked their Neil Lane rings and this is the
- 29:04Speaker 1: moment that Michelle meets Brandon at the altar with the
- 29:13Speaker 1: ocean waves way too loud, way way too loud. Couldn't
- 29:19Speaker 1: hear her? Couldn't hear mis tweeted last night and apologized
- 29:23Speaker 1: about it. Yeah, he's like, sorry, there's nothing we could do.
- 29:27Speaker 1: The waves are a lot louder than expect that. They
- 29:30Speaker 1: owed up to it. Yeah, like you couldn't hear Michelle
- 29:34Speaker 1: at all. But you know it's fine. That makes it
- 29:37Speaker 1: kind of like real life, you know, it's like, oh,
- 29:39Speaker 1: they kind of messed up. They were really close to
- 29:42Speaker 1: the water anyway, So um, Brandon, well, Brandon later that
- 29:49Speaker 1: after final Rose says, like, you can't lie with your
- 29:51Speaker 1: eyes like I can see. I can tell everything you're
- 29:53Speaker 1: feeling through your eyes, Like I knew when I got
- 29:55Speaker 1: up there that it wasn't me. Yeah, which is pretty heartbreaking,
- 30:00Speaker 1: but at least like you had a little warning. He
- 30:05Speaker 1: says he found his missing piece with her, and they
- 30:08Speaker 1: have something special that he will never find again. Please Brandon,
- 30:12Speaker 1: go find it again. You must find it. Um. He
- 30:16Speaker 1: says he doesn't want to spend another second without her, Um,
- 30:19Speaker 1: that he hasn't met anyone that she and she says like,
- 30:22Speaker 1: I've never met anyone like you, and I do love you,
- 30:24Speaker 1: but I promise myself to follow my heart, and my
- 30:28Speaker 1: heart is pushing me in a different direction. They both
- 30:31Speaker 1: start crying. She says, I love you again as walking
- 30:35Speaker 1: him out, which you know, I think it's actually like
- 30:38Speaker 1: quite nice. She really does love him as a person,
- 30:41Speaker 1: And then we just continue to see him sob and
- 30:44Speaker 1: sigh and oh, it was really one of the most emotional,
- 30:53Speaker 1: you know, finale exits I can ever remember, because a
- 30:56Speaker 1: lot of people get defensive and a lot of them
- 31:00Speaker 1: get angry in that final moment, but he was just
- 31:03Speaker 1: straight up sad. Some people you're like, oh, you know,
- 31:08Speaker 1: they're gonna be fine. Just with Brandon, I did not.
- 31:13Speaker 1: I know he's gonna be fine, but there wasn't that
- 31:16Speaker 1: like that sense there he loves her. He does, he does.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I mean that's very obvious. But you gotta feel for
- 31:25Speaker 1: the guy. You got his heartbroken, and we all none
- 31:27Speaker 1: of us like to see that. I mean, it happens
- 31:30Speaker 1: on this show, it happens in life, but it's just
- 31:32Speaker 1: always hard. Uh. He's he's gonna be fine, but I
- 31:37Speaker 1: do feel with Brandon, it's going to take him a while.
- 31:39Speaker 1: I've never uh, meeting with a runner up a few
- 31:44Speaker 1: years ago Ashley and I won't say who, but I
- 31:47Speaker 1: remember meeting with the runner up and he had very
- 31:50Speaker 1: similar feelings to this. He was heartbroken. This was months
- 31:54Speaker 1: after the break up, months and he was heartbroken. He
- 31:58Speaker 1: really was. He was crying on make how uh and
- 32:01Speaker 1: he didn't know how to navigate life. I get it
- 32:08Speaker 1: now they're fine, right, it's been a few years, but
- 32:10Speaker 1: there's still this. Yeah, you know, love is love and
- 32:14Speaker 1: it's it's it's a it's a hard thing, but it's
- 32:15Speaker 1: not worth it if you don't, you know, if you're
- 32:17Speaker 1: not willing to taking some pain, so feel for Brandon there.
- 32:21Speaker 1: It's one of those moments that, like, it kind of
- 32:23Speaker 1: sucks because sometimes I feel like these finales are overshadowed
- 32:27Speaker 1: by the breakup. U like the engagements get overshadowed by
- 32:31Speaker 1: the breakup beforehand, where you're left thinking more about that
- 32:35Speaker 1: than you were the engagement in the Happy Couple. I
- 32:38Speaker 1: think this is one of those seasons. Yeah, yeah, because
- 32:44Speaker 1: more people are gonna be talking about Brandon today than
- 32:46Speaker 1: Michelle and Nate. I feel like even though Michelle and Bates,
- 32:50Speaker 1: do you think so? Yeah, I think it happens most seasons. Yeah,
- 32:53Speaker 1: I think it just does. I think it's part of
- 32:55Speaker 1: the beast. So well, let's uh, let's move on now
- 32:58Speaker 1: to celebrate the happy couple. Uh, Michelle and Date they
- 33:03Speaker 1: want to wish the best here because I think this
- 33:07Speaker 1: top four that Michelle had was some of the best
- 33:11Speaker 1: top four we've seen a long time. I thought these
- 33:13Speaker 1: guys were all charismatic, they all had incredible storylines, they
- 33:18Speaker 1: all connected at some level with Michelle, and so for
- 33:22Speaker 1: Nate to rise above those guys and too have Michelle's
- 33:26Speaker 1: heart and for Michelle to have his heart something we
- 33:29Speaker 1: got to celebrate, so we're super excited for the minute.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Here's the deal. I thought, I feel for this couple,
- 33:33Speaker 1: even though they won't be the ones talked about. There's
- 33:35Speaker 1: been some seasons as of recent where you and I
- 33:37Speaker 1: are like, this is just weird. The ending felt odd,
- 33:40Speaker 1: it fell off, It felt like we didn't connect with it.
- 33:43Speaker 1: This season, we you know, really felt like, at least
- 33:46Speaker 1: for me, I connected with this couple. Just to go
- 33:50Speaker 1: back a few seasons Katie and Blake, we fell off
- 33:52Speaker 1: with that for sure, and then we with Matt and Rachel,
- 33:55Speaker 1: We're also like, where is this gonna go? But here
- 33:57Speaker 1: I feel like they are truly happy. Uh. They are
- 34:02Speaker 1: like really glowing together. There's no issues. I thought that
- 34:06Speaker 1: because of the teasers there was gonna be some sort
- 34:08Speaker 1: of twist. There really wasn't. No. I thought that maybe, yeah,
- 34:14Speaker 1: I thought maybe that would be evident at after the
- 34:16Speaker 1: final rows, like that's where the twist would be. But nope,
- 34:18Speaker 1: they like showed up. They were so happy together, and
- 34:21Speaker 1: I'm just excited to hopefully get a bachelor couple that
- 34:25Speaker 1: lasts a while, if not forever. Now I think I
- 34:29Speaker 1: think they're being a shot with them. I really do.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I think, and I just feel, you know, like I said,
- 34:36Speaker 1: with Michelle being as good at this whole process issue
- 34:39Speaker 1: was leading. I think she made a decision that she
- 34:42Speaker 1: knew was right and it seemed like it just was
- 34:44Speaker 1: solidified on the final episode and on the live show.
- 34:48Speaker 1: But again, for as much you want to celebrate them too,
- 34:52Speaker 1: I was just gonna say, you know, Caitlin Bristow handling
- 34:55Speaker 1: this whole thing so well, uh and really helping us
- 34:59Speaker 1: connect with this couple as we want to celebrate them
- 35:03Speaker 1: on after the final rose, I think she I think
- 35:05Speaker 1: she crushed it and she did a great job. Thinks
- 35:08Speaker 1: so too. All right, Well, I'm going to um have
- 35:14Speaker 1: Michelle on the podcast later today another episode, and I'm
- 35:19Speaker 1: going to ask her a whole bunch of things that
- 35:21Speaker 1: came up at after the final rows, including that down
- 35:24Speaker 1: payment on a house lucky duckies, Yeah, and how she
- 35:32Speaker 1: felt about choosing somebody that her family was not as
- 35:36Speaker 1: down for her to choose. Wow. All right, well, hey,
- 35:40Speaker 1: we're coming back with a resident expert. There are some
- 35:43Speaker 1: Bachelor headlines this week, even though it was the finale
- 35:46Speaker 1: of Michelle's season. We're going to talk to Ashley Kennetie
- 35:49Speaker 1: about these headlines coming up after the break. Okay, headlines
- 36:03Speaker 1: this week in Bachelor Nation. This is a wild one.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Hannah Brown's brother. I had no clue this is even
- 36:09Speaker 1: happening or going on. Patrick is engaged to Jed Wyatt's ex,
- 36:13Speaker 1: Haley Stevens. Dude, he my best friend. Disaccording to US
- 36:18Speaker 1: Weekly at this is the weirdest thing ever. Okay, Hayley Stevens,
- 36:23Speaker 1: if you guys don't remember, is the girl that Jed
- 36:27Speaker 1: was apparently with up until the moment that like he
- 36:31Speaker 1: landed in l A to be on the Bachelorette, And
- 36:35Speaker 1: somewhere in the mix, Hannah's brother met Haley and now
- 36:41Speaker 1: they're engaged. I don't remember when they started dating, but
- 36:46Speaker 1: never what I have thought that they would have gotten engaged.
- 36:49Speaker 1: And now Hannah is going to spend the rest of
- 36:51Speaker 1: her life being related to the girl that like was
- 36:55Speaker 1: dating her fiance. This is a whole bunch of craziness. Um.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Hannah did share her approval though. Last month. She said,
- 37:05Speaker 1: I love my brother and I'm just so thankful for
- 37:08Speaker 1: all the changes that he's made in his life. Because
- 37:11Speaker 1: of that just really impacted the way our family dynamic
- 37:15Speaker 1: as both of us have kind of gone on our
- 37:18Speaker 1: own journey of healing. He had an overdose last year.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Um about his love life, I don't choose who my
- 37:25Speaker 1: brother loves and who he wants to be with, but
- 37:28Speaker 1: I love him and I want him to be happy.
- 37:32Speaker 1: So it still sounds like she doesn't like this. I mean,
- 37:37Speaker 1: it's gotta be weird for right, But I'm sure she's met,
- 37:41Speaker 1: you know, Haley most of the times. Now, I'm sure.
- 37:43Speaker 1: I'm sure they have had their time. And I actually
- 37:46Speaker 1: feel like not that any of this is a one up,
- 37:49Speaker 1: but you know, for for Hannah and Haley and and Patrick,
- 37:55Speaker 1: you know, the one that kind of gets the shaft
- 37:57Speaker 1: to get his jed. Which is fine because you know,
- 38:01Speaker 1: Haley and and Patrick gard love and you can't really do.
- 38:03Speaker 1: But I feel like it's more weird for Jed probably
- 38:06Speaker 1: where he's like I just like I got hated on,
- 38:09Speaker 1: kicked out, booted up, and then she ends up married
- 38:13Speaker 1: the brother of the girl that like I didn't get with.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I don't know it just this is like a wild storyline.
- 38:20Speaker 1: That is, it's a weird, weird storyline. All right, what's
- 38:22Speaker 1: the next headline? Batchel Nations, Astrid and Kevin's newborn hospitalized
- 38:29Speaker 1: after testing positive for COVID. This according to E I
- 38:31Speaker 1: saw this. Oh no, I did not know this. Okay um.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Kevin captioned a series of photos on Instagram saying, tough
- 38:41Speaker 1: week for the Went Gang. This is an appreciation post
- 38:44Speaker 1: for the best mother and teammate there is. Our family
- 38:46Speaker 1: has COVID and it's not taking it easy on any
- 38:49Speaker 1: of us. Astrid has a terrible flu, followed by Aggie
- 38:53Speaker 1: getting a fever which he's also tested um for COVID
- 38:58Speaker 1: as well as was admitted to the hospital and seeing
- 39:02Speaker 1: him sick and in pain at just four weeks old
- 39:04Speaker 1: breaks our hearts. He got very sick yesterday and today
- 39:08Speaker 1: is the worst yet. So I couldn't go to the
- 39:10Speaker 1: hospital and not even bring astro dinner because of the
- 39:13Speaker 1: new variant and unknown um and the unknown around the transmission.
- 39:18Speaker 1: I've been staying clear of my little man until my
- 39:20Speaker 1: symptoms are gone. We aren't isolation until after Christmas. Uh.
- 39:25Speaker 1: He also said the asterroids being such a champ um
- 39:28Speaker 1: she is. She snapped into mama bear mode and and
- 39:31Speaker 1: never skipped a beat. That is so sad. Yeah, it's uh.
- 39:38Speaker 1: It is. It's it's a hard story to read. I
- 39:41Speaker 1: wish the best for that family because this cannot be easy.
- 39:44Speaker 1: But no doubt Astro that did jump into mom and
- 39:47Speaker 1: bear mode is incredible. Mother. Well, the next headline is
- 39:50Speaker 1: this transitioning to Tasha Adams calls out Colton Underwood says
- 39:56Speaker 1: he lied about sleeping in sweatpants during Fantasy Sweet Date.
- 39:59Speaker 1: That's to us Weekly, Oh, this was interesting, especially after
- 40:04Speaker 1: you and Nick last week said that both of you,
- 40:07Speaker 1: in addition to other Bachelor Nation members did reach out
- 40:11Speaker 1: to Colton after he came out on Good Morning America.
- 40:17Speaker 1: When he denied that anyone did, he said that Chris
- 40:19Speaker 1: Harrison was the only person in the Bachelor family who did.
- 40:22Speaker 1: And now Tasia comes out and says he was not
- 40:25Speaker 1: wearing sets in bed with me as he claims during
- 40:30Speaker 1: his in his Netflix show. She says he She says
- 40:36Speaker 1: that he was way too hot for that and he
- 40:40Speaker 1: I don't even think had he didn't have a shirt on.
- 40:44Speaker 1: She also hates the fact that she made it seem
- 40:46Speaker 1: like he was like pitying her. So these are the
- 40:51Speaker 1: exact quotes. Says, I don't know if this was in
- 40:55Speaker 1: his book, which I haven't read or his show, which
- 40:57Speaker 1: I haven't seen, but obviously everyone in Bachelnation talks. He
- 41:00Speaker 1: had said, you know, he went in to the you
- 41:04Speaker 1: know Becca Cooper and is on the podcast and which
- 41:06Speaker 1: she just says these things, and she goes, well, he
- 41:08Speaker 1: said that you guys went into the fantasy suite and
- 41:13Speaker 1: that he's kept his sweatpants and a sweatshirt on, and
- 41:15Speaker 1: then you guys talked and that was it, and then
- 41:17Speaker 1: he felt bad. And then Tassia goes. Taia calls that
- 41:22Speaker 1: extremely rude. She said, he felt It's like he felt
- 41:26Speaker 1: bad for me. It's like, don't make me seem like
- 41:28Speaker 1: this like a pity case. He felt bad for me. Anyway,
- 41:32Speaker 1: if I'm not the only person you should be feeling
- 41:35Speaker 1: bad for, there were other women that were trying to
- 41:37Speaker 1: fall in love with you, and they're really putting their
- 41:40Speaker 1: house their hearts there on the line. So if you
- 41:43Speaker 1: feel bad for sleeping, if you if you feel bad
- 41:45Speaker 1: in that regard, then sure, um. But no, to answer
- 41:49Speaker 1: the blatant question here, he did not actually sleep in
- 41:53Speaker 1: sweatpants and a sweatshirt that night. Yeah, well, uh we did.
- 41:58Speaker 1: I ended watch the clip that I don't think Colton's
- 42:02Speaker 1: responded to any of it. But that's that's that's fine. Well,
- 42:06Speaker 1: the next headline is this. Greg Grippa recalls quitting The
- 42:10Speaker 1: Bachelor a calling producers left and right to get Katie
- 42:14Speaker 1: Thurston update Disaccording to US Weekly, he does say that
- 42:18Speaker 1: the feelings that they that they did have for each
- 42:21Speaker 1: other were real, but he actually truly believes that she
- 42:25Speaker 1: had stronger feelings for Blake when he quit. And he
- 42:31Speaker 1: said after he left, he was calling producers d m
- 42:35Speaker 1: NG Caitlin Burstow. He said nobody was answering, but he
- 42:40Speaker 1: was truly wanting to know is she with him? Did
- 42:43Speaker 1: they end up together? Is she coming back to New Jersey? Like?
- 42:47Speaker 1: I think that maybe a little bit in his head
- 42:49Speaker 1: he was like, oh, is she gonna follow after me? Um?
- 42:52Speaker 1: He said yeah, Colin producers left and right. I was
- 42:55Speaker 1: telling my family, I think there's a better chance than
- 43:00Speaker 1: not that we get back together. I thought that she
- 43:04Speaker 1: was going to go after him, um in New Jersey too.
- 43:07Speaker 1: I definitely thought she was going to halt the season
- 43:09Speaker 1: and just be like, all right, well, if if I
- 43:12Speaker 1: can't get him back, then the other the other two,
- 43:15Speaker 1: like the feelings aren't aren't on par with so then
- 43:20Speaker 1: I'll have to leave alone. But we all know how
- 43:24Speaker 1: this story ended. It was with Blake and then it
- 43:27Speaker 1: was with John. And actually, speaking of John, Katie said
- 43:32Speaker 1: this week um that she did not give Blake a
- 43:36Speaker 1: heads up about her relationship with John. When asked about
- 43:41Speaker 1: why she didn't give Blake a heads up, she said,
- 43:44Speaker 1: people are always like, well, you should have told Blake.
- 43:47Speaker 1: We talked about giving Blake a heads up. But here's
- 43:49Speaker 1: the thing that people forget. We're just normal people trying
- 43:53Speaker 1: to live normal lives. And when have you ever had
- 43:56Speaker 1: to tell an X that you're seeing someone new? I
- 44:00Speaker 1: feel that. I feel that, Um, But in Bachelor world
- 44:03Speaker 1: is a little bit different, just because, like all the
- 44:05Speaker 1: relationships are so public. Yeah, fair enough. Well, actually that's
- 44:10Speaker 1: all the headlines we got for today. It's another season
- 44:13Speaker 1: in the books. Michelle Young season is over. We want
- 44:17Speaker 1: to was her in the absolute best? Uh? Into all
- 44:20Speaker 1: the contestants that were on this season. Uh, what a
- 44:23Speaker 1: great season, what a great uh thing we got to watch.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Now we head into Clayton's season of The Bachelor. We
- 44:30Speaker 1: did see him, uh come to the the after the
- 44:35Speaker 1: final rose. He read through some mean tweets, which felt
- 44:38Speaker 1: really uncomfortable for me to watch. But I am going
- 44:43Speaker 1: to be excited to see him as the Bachelor because
- 44:46Speaker 1: there is a lot of speculation around it and if
- 44:49Speaker 1: you remember right, a lot of the leads that we've
- 44:52Speaker 1: gone on to u leading into their season with the
- 44:55Speaker 1: most like confusion about I would say Hannah Brown was
- 44:58Speaker 1: one of those. I think we were all like, what
- 44:59Speaker 1: in the where did this come from? Except for me? Yeah, Well,
- 45:05Speaker 1: I was gonna help finding some of the most daring,
- 45:08Speaker 1: some of the most positively rated. So we'll we'll be
- 45:13Speaker 1: excited for this next season of The Bachelor with Clayton. Yes,
- 45:16Speaker 1: that'll be. It'll the previews give me hope. I'll say that.
- 45:20Speaker 1: There we go. Well, that's all we got through today
- 45:23Speaker 1: with the Almost Famous podcast. We'll be back very soon.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Next week you can break down the girls. That's right. Oh,
- 45:31Speaker 1: let's do it. One of my favorite episodes every year
- 45:34Speaker 1: is when we just get to talk about these people
- 45:36Speaker 1: without ever knowing him. Uh and uh so we'll do
- 45:39Speaker 1: that next week. Here, I'm almost say this podcast with
- 45:43Speaker 1: that I've been been Ashley. Bye, guys. Follow the Ben
- 45:47Speaker 1: and Ashley I Almost Famous podcasts on I Heart Radio,
