- 0:06Speaker 1: All right, so we went back here are good things
- 0:08Speaker 1: and we are here with Cobra Starship, well one member
- 0:11Speaker 1: of cover Stars, one Memory, and one of us. How
- 0:14Speaker 1: are you feeling good? Really excited? I can't wait. I
- 0:17Speaker 1: mean wish this wasn't the last show, but I'm very excited.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Well that was gonna be my next question. Are you're
- 0:21Speaker 1: happy or sad that today's a last night?
- 0:23Speaker 2: Sad?
- 0:23Speaker 1: Honestly, I'm like, damn, it was too fast?
- 0:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 0:26Speaker 1: Yeah? And is there an aussy festival moment that will
- 0:31Speaker 1: stick with you forever? Yeah?
- 0:34Speaker 2: I sang with Weezer and I'm singing with them again
- 0:37Speaker 2: tonight and did last night, and that is going to
- 0:40Speaker 2: live with me forever. It was the most iconic thing
- 0:44Speaker 2: in my life because they're by everything. Like as a kid,
- 0:48Speaker 2: it was like Weezer, forget about it, my favorite band
- 0:50Speaker 2: of all time.
- 0:51Speaker 1: So to get to sing with Rivers was next level.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Yeah, oh that's awesome. And what's something you can't live
- 0:58Speaker 1: without on tour? Dresses? My sandsor yeah that's because of
- 1:07Speaker 1: my No, that's I only wear dresses.
- 1:09Speaker 2: So I'm like, I literally just have to have like
- 1:11Speaker 2: a bunch of dresses in my backpack.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I get to ride with that. Anything else?
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I got some dresses press, let's see it. And
- 1:20Speaker 2: are there any bands have discovered on this tool that
- 1:22Speaker 2: have really prossed you? War? I mean like I've known
- 1:26Speaker 2: obviously a bar from forever but never seen them live,
- 1:30Speaker 2: and honestly, their show was even better than I expected experience.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I wish I wanted so bad to be
- 1:36Speaker 2: in the front and like just get completely covered in blood.
- 1:39Speaker 2: But because we have all these performances later, I was like,
- 1:41Speaker 2: I'm not gonna be read for those that's stupid.
- 1:43Speaker 1: But if if it was later, I would have a
- 1:45Speaker 1: hundred resent gone for it. Yeah. Yeah, you wouldn't worry
- 1:48Speaker 1: about fans running up to or anything. Not at all.
- 1:51Speaker 1: For me, it's just like I want to look good
- 1:52Speaker 1: nextra rivers today. But that's why I don't want to
- 1:55Speaker 1: be read. And what part of being in a is
- 2:00Speaker 1: the most special to you?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Honestly just seeing fans in the audience, Like when I
- 2:08Speaker 2: get teared up on stage way too often because I'll
- 2:11Speaker 2: look and it's like when I see a kid having
- 2:14Speaker 2: the experience of like what I remember like being a
- 2:16Speaker 2: kid seeing my favorite band play and like seeing them
- 2:19Speaker 2: smile and singing the words and like or just even
- 2:21Speaker 2: ones that like don't know the words and they're just like,
- 2:24Speaker 2: you know, like this and seeing that like you are
- 2:27Speaker 2: like exciting them and touching them in some way is
- 2:30Speaker 2: the best feeling in the world.
- 2:33Speaker 1: And which song of yours do you love the most?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Probably kissing my sass Like as far as ones that
- 2:39Speaker 2: we perform, yeah, it was like, it's business really fun,
- 2:43Speaker 2: it's weird, and is there some of yours?
- 2:45Speaker 1: You'd love to reimaginate it completely with New Start.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I would love to do some kind of remix or
- 2:52Speaker 2: new version of Disaster Boy.
- 2:53Speaker 1: We've never played it live.
- 2:54Speaker 2: And I would love to do a duo, like a
- 2:57Speaker 2: proper duo with me and Gabe that was like original
- 3:00Speaker 2: me and Gabe, So to me.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I would love to do that. Maybe you'll have to
- 3:04Speaker 1: do it now. I know I'm going to try it.
- 3:06Speaker 1: You can credit me for that, Okay, great? And what's
- 3:11Speaker 1: one sorry? What's one thing that stayed the same since
- 3:14Speaker 1: your early days and one thing that's change The thing
- 3:19Speaker 1: that's stayed the same.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Just really feels like our fan base likes just seeing
- 3:26Speaker 2: how excited people aren't people like that have seen us
- 3:28Speaker 2: forever ago come out and see us and be just
- 3:31Speaker 2: as excited and like have old photos with them and
- 3:33Speaker 2: like have the same kind of like attitude and being
- 3:35Speaker 2: affected the same way even as like adults, because a
- 3:38Speaker 2: lot of them were like kids.
- 3:39Speaker 1: You know, it is really cool, But that's amazing. The
- 3:42Speaker 1: thing that's different that I'm like ready to go to
- 3:46Speaker 1: sleep afterwards. That's probably the Yeah, yeah, no, I feel
- 3:51Speaker 1: you with that. And which album has been the most
- 3:54Speaker 1: fun for you to create? Viva Lacobra was really fun?
- 3:58Speaker 1: That was great.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Yeah. The next this one was like was just difficult
- 4:01Speaker 2: because it was just it was kind of all over
- 4:02Speaker 2: the place. We had this pressure of like putting out
- 4:04Speaker 2: stuff and I feel like people look over. It was
- 4:06Speaker 2: just so much fun because we were on tour with
- 4:08Speaker 2: Fallout Boy and just the collaboration and it was great.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking aw cool, I got a boy love math.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Is there another favorite band of mine? Nice? Are there
- 4:17Speaker 1: any bands here that you've like grown really close with
- 4:21Speaker 1: just over this week years? Wizer? Yeah, Wizer Lid would
- 4:26Speaker 1: stand out for sure.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I mean just getting to perform with them is his
- 4:30Speaker 2: next level And yeah that sounds out good.
- 4:34Speaker 1: And was there any advice from your father or family
- 4:38Speaker 1: that shaped how you approach being in Cobra or.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Did you intentionally try to develop your own style separate
- 4:44Speaker 2: from them. Well, both my parents are incredible, and I've
- 4:48Speaker 2: always been very supportive of anything I want to do,
- 4:50Speaker 2: and they've been the coolest. And it's crazy because I
- 4:53Speaker 2: kind of followed the same path unintentionally with my father
- 4:56Speaker 2: where he was in music forever, but he was like
- 5:00Speaker 2: in school and left school to join a band or
- 5:05Speaker 2: because he had a hit single actually in the US,
- 5:07Speaker 2: and he and then so he left school. And when
- 5:09Speaker 2: I called my parents and was like, so I'm going
- 5:11Speaker 2: to take leave of aapsins from school, They're like, well,
- 5:13Speaker 2: what can we say? Like your dad did the exact
- 5:15Speaker 2: same thing. I think that I don't know where it
- 5:19Speaker 2: came from, but like something came from me that like
- 5:22Speaker 2: the biggest straw to me with joining Cover Starship when
- 5:25Speaker 2: I did a million years ago was that the attitude
- 5:29Speaker 2: of like not taking yourself too seriously and being able
- 5:31Speaker 2: to have fun in all genres and not stay in
- 5:34Speaker 2: a certain box. That was what was like, this is
- 5:36Speaker 2: the band for me and I can't wait to be
- 5:38Speaker 2: a part of this, So don't say.
- 5:40Speaker 1: A million years ago, because I was like a teenager
- 5:42Speaker 1: then and that makes me feel so old. Okay, did
- 5:46Speaker 1: having to create a family add some pressure or did
- 5:49Speaker 1: it give you confidence to experiment with you iconic?
- 5:52Speaker 2: Just yeah, I think that there was a little bit
- 5:54Speaker 2: of pressure of like, my dad's had such an iconic
- 5:57Speaker 2: career in music, so I think I was just very
- 5:59Speaker 2: I was like, oh god, I want to do it's
- 6:01Speaker 2: good a job as he did. But I did, and
- 6:03Speaker 2: I did it in my own way, in a completely
- 6:05Speaker 2: different way, and it was awesome.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah. And what's an Aussie thing you love and an
- 6:10Speaker 1: a thing you need to do it out?
- 6:12Speaker 2: Uh?
- 6:15Speaker 1: Damn? What was the thing? I was just thinking of something? Oh,
- 6:20Speaker 1: I don't know, Okay, Ozzy thing I love?
- 6:23Speaker 2: I mean kind of everything like Ausi's are so fun
- 6:26Speaker 2: and great and I'm a big fan. This is so
- 6:30Speaker 2: this is the stupidest thing that I'm like, I could
- 6:32Speaker 2: do with that is like the it seems like every
- 6:34Speaker 2: time you go to a restaurant, you always like get
- 6:36Speaker 2: up and pay afterwards or something.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I don't like that. I'm like, why can't we just
- 6:38Speaker 1: get the bill here and then pay? Yeah?
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I guess one upside that's the only thing
- 6:44Speaker 2: that stands out.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I don't know, that's the only thing I'm marked on. Yeah, yeah, no,
- 6:47Speaker 1: we don't have the chipping. That is amazing. Let's that
- 6:51Speaker 1: is incredible.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Yeah okay, well it stands out.
- 6:55Speaker 1: But that was literally the only thing that I was
- 6:57Speaker 1: saying the other day. That's it. What are your favorite
- 7:00Speaker 1: snacks on tour? Tim tams when in Australia? Hello, in
- 7:05Speaker 1: a popular one?
- 7:06Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 7:06Speaker 1: Have you done a tim tam slim?
- 7:09Speaker 2: No?
- 7:09Speaker 1: What's a tim tam slant?
- 7:10Speaker 2: Oh?
- 7:10Speaker 1: Wait that were you know?
- 7:13Speaker 2: And then second yes, yes, hell yeah, yeah, I forgot
- 7:16Speaker 2: that's what it's called.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Yea.
- 7:18Speaker 2: And what's the coolest thing you've been given by a
- 7:21Speaker 2: fan or an experience you've had.
- 7:23Speaker 1: To I I don't know.
- 7:31Speaker 2: I think of like when we used to do like, uh,
- 7:35Speaker 2: we used to like bowl with fans or no, you
- 7:37Speaker 2: know what, No, okay, this is this is the thing
- 7:39Speaker 2: that's cool.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I remember when we used to do we used to do.
- 7:42Speaker 2: A competition and playing Mario Kart on the tour bus
- 7:45Speaker 2: with fans and then if they if they ever beat us,
- 7:47Speaker 2: they like got free merch and like I think an.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Extra ticket or something.
- 7:50Speaker 2: But I think someone only bought us beat Us like
- 7:52Speaker 2: once because, like Nate, our drummer was like such a
- 7:55Speaker 2: beast at it.
- 7:56Speaker 1: That was pretty fun. Other games still brought on tool
- 7:59Speaker 1: like the cons we haven't.
- 8:01Speaker 2: We haven't like actually tour it in so long, so
- 8:03Speaker 2: I don't know. Next time we're on a tour bust,
- 8:05Speaker 2: we'll see. I'm sure it'll come out. I'm sure sure
- 8:07Speaker 2: that'll be consoles. Yeah, for sure.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I wish we had a little Tommy. Thank you so much,
- 8:13Speaker 1: thank you so great to talk to you. God tell
- 8:29Speaker 1: me roto.
- 8:41Speaker 2: No way so much. You like you, dang, you feel
- 8:46Speaker 2: that so much, toil like time. That's fine. Your mile
