- 5:04Speaker 1: At the forty one.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Germaine Pratt with a takeaway and the Bengals have the
- 5:11Speaker 2: ball with two thirty to go.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Jermaine Pratt. It's all about the.

- 6:07Speaker 2: his offensive line teammates.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Joe Burrow doing the gritty.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Oh that's great, that is great.
- 6:18Speaker 2: And it was good. What can't the guy do? He
- 6:22Speaker 2: even does a perfect gritty. The ball is at the
- 6:25Speaker 2: twenty five yard line, fourteen seconds left. Cincinnati leads twenty
- 6:31Speaker 2: four to seventeen.
- 6:32Speaker 1: The Broncos are out of timeouts.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Rookie cornerback bow Nicks will line up in the shotgun
- 6:39Speaker 2: to two y two formation. His full back is in
- 6:42Speaker 2: the backfield with him in all likelihood to block. Nicks
- 6:45Speaker 2: catches the shotgun snap, retreats, being.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Chased, throws it off his back foot.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Get into the end zone, and it is pots for
- 6:53Speaker 2: a Denver touchdown with eight seconds to go, Mims with
- 6:58Speaker 2: the catch as Nicks just floated it up there for
- 7:02Speaker 2: the score. First down and fifteen now at the forty
- 7:05Speaker 2: one of Denver tied in ot Burrow ready for the
- 7:08Speaker 2: shotgun snap.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Joe catches looking.

- 7:24Speaker 2: This will be a thirty three yard attempt for twenty
- 7:26Speaker 2: three year old cade Yorke trying to be the overtime
- 7:30Speaker 2: hero for Cincinnati.
- 7:32Speaker 4: He made one from twenty two yards in regulation. How
- 7:35Speaker 4: about finishing it in overtime?
- 7:37Speaker 1: Adam might as well snap?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Ryan Rico will hold the snap, the placement, the right
- 7:42Speaker 2: footed kick, It.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Is up and hits the left up right and it's
- 7:46Speaker 1: no good.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Oh, cade York missus in ot and with two forty
- 7:52Speaker 2: three to go, the Broncos get the ball second and
- 7:56Speaker 2: ten from the thirty five of Denver Burroke catches the
- 8:00Speaker 2: shotgun snap, Joe throwing it deep down the sault line.
- 8:04Speaker 2: T Higgins lunging for the ball. He's got it, got
- 8:08Speaker 2: it inside the fives.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Want to throw?
- 8:11Speaker 2: Wanna catch T Higgins at the three yard line, beating
- 8:17Speaker 2: Brandon Jones. An incredible grab by T Higgins.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Boo did he get both feet down?
- 8:23Speaker 2: One ten left in overtime, the Bengals trying to win
- 8:28Speaker 2: it from the three yard line of Denver Burrow looking
- 8:30Speaker 2: to throw his pass. It is.
- 8:34Speaker 1: My T Higgins touchdown. It's Bengals.
- 8:40Speaker 2: And the final playoff spot in the AFC will not
- 8:45Speaker 2: be decided until the final week of the regular season.
- 8:50Speaker 2: The Cincinnati Bengals are still alive as Joe Burrow hits
- 8:55Speaker 2: t Higgins for a game winning touchdown.
- 8:58Speaker 4: Damn, that's three touchdown passes over three hundred yards passing.
- 9:02Speaker 3: His streak is still alive.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Two hundred and fifty or more yards passing, three touchdowns.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Are more for eight straight games.
- 9:10Speaker 4: I mean, you already had the NFL record, He's continuing
- 9:13Speaker 4: to build on it. This is a magical season. Joe Burrow,
- 9:18Speaker 4: Jamar Chase and Gee Piggins. What a threesome.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Joe Burrow throws for four hundred and twelve yards, three touchdowns,
- 9:26Speaker 2: no picks in a passer rating of.
- 9:28Speaker 1: One twenty two.
- 9:29Speaker 2: He is up to forty two touchdown passes this year.
- 9:35Speaker 2: There's only been twenty instances in NFL history where quarterbacks
- 9:39Speaker 2: have thrown forty or more touchdown passes in a single year,
- 9:43Speaker 2: and Joe's got forty two with at least one game
- 9:48Speaker 2: to go, one game left in the regular season, and
- 9:51Speaker 2: who knows, if everything falls just right, maybe, just maybe,
- 9:57Speaker 2: the Bengals will head to Buffalo for a first round
- 10:00Speaker 2: playoff game. The final score in overtime Cincinnati thirty, Denver
- 10:05Speaker 2: twenty four. So after being zero to three and four
- 10:10Speaker 2: and eight, the Bengals are eight to eight with one
- 10:13Speaker 2: game left and will make the playoffs if the following
- 10:17Speaker 2: things happen. One they beat Pittsburgh on the road next week.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Two the Broncos lose at home to Kansas City. Three
- 10:27Speaker 2: the Dolphins lose at least one of their final two games,
- 10:31Speaker 2: either at Cleveland or at the Jets. And four the
- 10:35Speaker 2: Colts lose at least one of their final two games,
- 10:38Speaker 2: either at the Giants or at home against Jacksonville. Keep
- 10:42Speaker 2: in mind the Dolphins and Colts both have injured starting quarterbacks.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Now let's go inside the Bengals locker room and start
- 10:51Speaker 2: with Joe Burrow, who spoke to Dave Lapham after the game.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Joe Burrow, all right for the game, thirty twelve yards,
- 11:02Speaker 4: three tds, all the t Higgins. Your streak's alive during
- 11:05Speaker 4: fifty yards and more, three touchdowns, more eight games in
- 11:07Speaker 4: a row. Now you know over time you're a cool
- 11:09Speaker 4: seven for eight for ninety seven yards in the touchdown.
- 11:12Speaker 4: What the hell? What what did you see? What were
- 11:14Speaker 4: you doing out there?
- 11:15Speaker 3: What were you looking at I thought I was in
- 11:17Speaker 3: a groove.
- 11:18Speaker 5: You know.
- 11:18Speaker 6: I started slow, missed a couple throws early. I was
- 11:21Speaker 6: disappointed in that. But we found our groove late second,
- 11:25Speaker 6: late first half. We had tea is unbelievable. All my
- 11:28Speaker 6: weapons stepped up big in every single one on one situation.
- 11:32Speaker 4: It was.
- 11:33Speaker 6: That was a master class there for about two quarters,
- 11:38Speaker 6: two and a half quarters there. So that was fun.
- 11:41Speaker 4: What does you say about the grid of this football team?
- 11:44Speaker 4: The field goal hits the left up right, defense says, ah, yeah,
- 11:47Speaker 4: we got you. We're gonna get you. The football back
- 11:50Speaker 4: they played it really, I mean it was a good
- 11:52Speaker 4: football game by the defense stepped up multiple times. But
- 11:55Speaker 4: when the defense stepped up, you guys delivered. Man.
- 11:58Speaker 3: It was deep definition of comparity football.
- 12:01Speaker 6: Yeah, that's that's what we've been missing this year. You know,
- 12:04Speaker 6: we were started slow, defense picked us up, defense needed us,
- 12:08Speaker 6: and we stepped up big. That's that's what good teams do.
- 12:11Speaker 6: You know, we got one week to put ourselves in
- 12:14Speaker 6: position to get in and you know, I'm focused on that.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Sir Tan, you know he was he was basically he
- 12:22Speaker 4: he kind of traveled with with Jamar Sum. They were
- 12:24Speaker 4: traveling with ge some to a little bit. So you're
- 12:27Speaker 4: in a lot of travelers out there. Uh did you
- 12:29Speaker 4: expect that? I mean, did you have to go to
- 12:31Speaker 4: like a plan D or a C in your head.
- 12:33Speaker 6: They threw a lot of different defenses at us. They
- 12:35Speaker 6: pressured us, they played coverage, they they showed pressure looks.
- 12:39Speaker 6: I thought they had a good plan on defense and
- 12:41Speaker 6: made it tough on us. But uh, you know that's
- 12:45Speaker 6: how we like to play. You throw a bunch of
- 12:46Speaker 6: defense at us, we're gonna We're gonna make you pay.
- 12:50Speaker 4: I was a fun woman this game. If they win,
- 12:53Speaker 4: they're in. Well they didn't win, but they still make
- 12:56Speaker 4: it in. If you lose, though, it's over. Now you
- 12:59Speaker 4: get to go to Pittsburgh and play the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Who knows, I mean tomorrow. I know everybody's gonna be
- 13:04Speaker 4: glued to a bunch of different games. See how things
- 13:06Speaker 4: unfold there. But what what is it going to be
- 13:09Speaker 4: like to go to Pittsburgh and play the Pittsburgh Steelers
- 13:12Speaker 4: there with potentially an opportunity still.
- 13:15Speaker 6: Yeah, we'll be ready for it. You know, we know them,
- 13:18Speaker 6: they know us. We know what kind of game it
- 13:21Speaker 6: was last time. So you know, I'm gonna prepare myself.
- 13:23Speaker 6: I'm gonna pair our guys to get in a shootout
- 13:25Speaker 6: and go win it.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Now, let's talk about Joe's targets. Jamar Chase had nine
- 13:30Speaker 2: catches for one hundred and two yards, strengthening his bid
- 13:34Speaker 2: to win the wide receiver's triple crown with games still
- 13:37Speaker 2: to be played in Week seventeen. Jamar's one hundred and
- 13:40Speaker 2: seventeen catches, a new Bengals record, leads the pack by thirteen.
- 13:45Speaker 2: His oney six hundred and twelve yards, another Bengals record,
- 13:50Speaker 2: leads by two hundred and twenty five, and his sixteen
- 13:54Speaker 2: touchdown catches that's one short of a Bengals record, leads
- 13:58Speaker 2: the league by four. But Jamar's nine catches against the Broncos,
- 14:03Speaker 2: we're only third best on the team. Mikeasicki had ten
- 14:07Speaker 2: to tie his career high for eighty six yards, and
- 14:11Speaker 2: t Higgins had eleven catches on twelve targets for one
- 14:15Speaker 2: hundred and thirty one yards and three touchdowns the first
- 14:18Speaker 2: three TD game of his career. Here's three TDT with
- 14:24Speaker 2: Lap After the game.
- 14:27Speaker 4: What are your first thoughts, I mean, as you try
- 14:29Speaker 4: to collect yourself here in the locker room.
- 14:31Speaker 3: What a hell of a day. What are your thoughts? Man?
- 14:33Speaker 7: It was just, you know, obviously a good game. No
- 14:36Speaker 7: shout out to Joe. I have none of that without
- 14:39Speaker 7: him in old line, you know what I mean. But man,
- 14:42Speaker 7: as a you know, it's a great game by me,
- 14:44Speaker 7: But you know, as a collective hole we all played.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Got a hell of a game.
- 14:47Speaker 4: So Joe Streak is alive. Two hundred and fifty yards
- 14:50Speaker 4: passing more, three touchdowns more, eight straight games.
- 14:53Speaker 8: He's done that.
- 14:54Speaker 4: You're the guy though, you have all three of the
- 14:56Speaker 4: touchdown catcher. Take us through the touchdown catcher. What do
- 14:58Speaker 4: you remember about each one of those?
- 15:00Speaker 7: The first one, you know, we knew the levers they
- 15:03Speaker 7: was gonna give us.
- 15:04Speaker 3: It was easy slant.
- 15:05Speaker 7: Second one was you know, he gave me a chance
- 15:08Speaker 7: to jump ball, you know, lay hands right there.
- 15:11Speaker 3: And then the last one, man, we just put the ball.
- 15:13Speaker 3: He put the ball in the right place for me.
- 15:14Speaker 5: All the way.
- 15:15Speaker 4: I can catch youself, eleven catchers. When you when you
- 15:17Speaker 4: went into this football game, when you were seeing how
- 15:19Speaker 4: they were covering on the back end, what they had
- 15:22Speaker 4: decided to do, did you think, man, this could be
- 15:24Speaker 4: a this could be a night for me. Yeah.
- 15:27Speaker 7: Man, you know we've seen the type of covers that
- 15:29Speaker 7: was giving us. It was a lot of one high,
- 15:30Speaker 7: a lot of man, old man. So that's where we
- 15:32Speaker 7: shove at, you know what I'm saying. And you know,
- 15:34Speaker 7: Joe was able to, you know, put the ball in
- 15:36Speaker 7: perfect placements for me and I was able to make
- 15:38Speaker 7: a play on it.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Thirty nine or forty nine, four hundred and twelve yards
- 15:42Speaker 4: and three touchdowns. In overtime he was seven for eight
- 15:46Speaker 4: ninety seven yards and a touchdown pass to you. I mean,
- 15:49Speaker 4: what's like playing with number nine?
- 15:51Speaker 3: Man, It's amazing. You don't get no better than that.
- 15:53Speaker 7: You know, he's a he's an MVP quarterback. He's he's
- 15:56Speaker 7: one of the best quarterbacks in the league. And you
- 15:57Speaker 7: know it shows, man, Eve been showing it all year
- 16:00Speaker 7: and you know you're gonna keep it going.
- 16:01Speaker 4: So we talk about complimentary football, you know, uh, the
- 16:05Speaker 4: offense drives field goal hits, the upright, defense gets the
- 16:09Speaker 4: ball right back to the offense, the offense takes the end.
- 16:12Speaker 4: What kind of what did the show about? This football
- 16:14Speaker 4: team that never quit in this football game?
- 16:17Speaker 3: It's the grit. We got grit.
- 16:18Speaker 4: You know what I mean.
- 16:19Speaker 7: And I was tough with mister field goal defense. Thought
- 16:22Speaker 7: we was you know, they thought they were the game
- 16:23Speaker 7: was over, always gonna win it. But man, they came
- 16:26Speaker 7: back out there, stepped up big, you know, like they've
- 16:27Speaker 7: been doing a whole game.
- 16:28Speaker 3: They stepped up big, and you.
- 16:29Speaker 7: Know, I got to stop for us, and we was
- 16:30Speaker 7: able to go back down there and finish it.
- 16:32Speaker 4: A lot of people think that that secondary is maybe
- 16:35Speaker 4: the best in football. Uh And you guys, you guys
- 16:38Speaker 4: sliced them and diced them and you ripped them up.
- 16:40Speaker 4: How good is this offense?
- 16:41Speaker 7: We are who we are, We've been who we are
- 16:43Speaker 7: all year.
- 16:44Speaker 3: And we're gonna continue to do that.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Mike is shicky. How big is a factories He's supporting you.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Mike is a baller man.
- 16:49Speaker 7: You know, he come up big for us a lot,
- 16:52Speaker 7: a lot then more people, a lot than most people think.
- 16:55Speaker 7: And you know, shout out to Mike Man, Proud of him,
- 16:58Speaker 7: you know, great teammate, great, great great man.
- 17:02Speaker 9: Man.
- 17:02Speaker 7: Just glad he's on our team.
- 17:04Speaker 2: A thirty to twenty four win mark the eighth time
- 17:08Speaker 2: the Bengals have scored thirty or more points in a
- 17:10Speaker 2: game this season. That's half of their games. They're averaging
- 17:13Speaker 2: twenty eight point three, and if the Bengals score twenty
- 17:18Speaker 2: four or more points next week, they'll set a new
- 17:21Speaker 2: team record for highest scoring average in a season. The
- 17:25Speaker 2: eighty eight Super Bowl team averaged exactly twenty eight a game. Now,
- 17:30Speaker 2: let's head back inside the locker room, cause I spent
- 17:32Speaker 2: a few minutes with Orlando Brown Junior. Orlando, was that
- 17:38Speaker 2: the craziest game you've played in in your life?
- 17:41Speaker 5: I mean, that's up there for me, man, I've been
- 17:43Speaker 5: a part of a lot of crazy football games. To
- 17:45Speaker 5: be honest with you, I mean, that's that's in my
- 17:48Speaker 5: top three just in terms of off the top of
- 17:50Speaker 5: my doing what I can remember. Man, I mean, so
- 17:52Speaker 5: special to be able to sit out with these group
- 17:54Speaker 5: of men, this organization, this whole building, man, and go
- 17:57Speaker 5: out there and literally fight for our lives, you know.
- 18:00Speaker 5: I mean it's one of the better parts about football.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Man.
- 18:02Speaker 3: You don't earn any stripes in this from pretending.
- 18:04Speaker 5: And you know, I think every single day, Man, we
- 18:07Speaker 5: got guys that come in here that work the tail off,
- 18:09Speaker 5: that focus on the task at hand, and most importantly,
- 18:12Speaker 5: live in the moment. And when you got guys that
- 18:14Speaker 5: live in the moment. You can score a touchdown and
- 18:17Speaker 5: think you won the game, come to the sideline, miss
- 18:19Speaker 5: a field goal, go to overtime and whatever happened, miss
- 18:22Speaker 5: a field goal, and go still go win the game, man.
- 18:24Speaker 5: And that's the character of our locker room, the resiliency,
- 18:28Speaker 5: the type of man that we've got in here. Man,
- 18:30Speaker 5: I mean, this is what makes it special. So hopefully
- 18:32Speaker 5: everything takes care of itself. We handle business. Next week
- 18:36Speaker 5: we get opportunity in a dance that this field.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Goal could have been very deflating, but the defense rows up,
- 18:43Speaker 2: got to three and out, got you the ball right
- 18:45Speaker 2: back and obviously we know what happened after that. I
- 18:48Speaker 2: think that shows a lot of resiliency from everybody on the.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Team for sure.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Man.
- 18:52Speaker 5: We got guys that want to win and guys that
- 18:54Speaker 5: love the game of football. I mean everything, man, it's
- 18:58Speaker 5: just God's grace, you know. That's care of himself, man,
- 19:01Speaker 5: and we handle business.
- 19:02Speaker 8: It's very special.
- 19:03Speaker 5: I'm very thankful to be a part of it.
- 19:04Speaker 2: You needed to win all four to get into this
- 19:07Speaker 2: position where the final game of the regular season is
- 19:09Speaker 2: now extremely meaningful. Does the playoff possibility seem more realistic now.
- 19:16Speaker 5: Yeah, man, I mean honestly, for us, even when we
- 19:19Speaker 5: were down, even when we didn't have a I guess
- 19:21Speaker 5: a so called winning record. I don't even know who
- 19:23Speaker 5: we are, to be real with you, but you know,
- 19:25Speaker 5: we got a ton of faith in this locker room man,
- 19:27Speaker 5: in each other most importantly, and everything else is gonna
- 19:30Speaker 5: take care of itself.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Joe Burrows up to forty two touchdown passes. Jamar Chase
- 19:35Speaker 2: is still on track to win the wide receiver triple crown.
- 19:38Speaker 2: T Higgins was incredible today. What's it been like for
- 19:41Speaker 2: you to be their teammate and part of an offense
- 19:45Speaker 2: that's doing those kinds of things.
- 19:46Speaker 5: It's been a special man, It's been really special man.
- 19:48Speaker 5: I'm just it's crazy to see him come in on
- 19:51Speaker 5: a daily and take care of business. I mean, this
- 19:54Speaker 5: is who he is. This is who he's always been, man.
- 19:56Speaker 5: So I got a ton of respect for him.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Now, let's hear Zach Taylor had to say as he
- 20:02Speaker 2: talked to Dave Lapham after the game.
- 20:05Speaker 4: All right, coach, what's your heart rate like right now?
- 20:08Speaker 4: Do you think it's pretty calm?
- 20:10Speaker 9: You know, you get through it and there's a lot
- 20:11Speaker 9: to digest. Just proud of our guys. They stepped up
- 20:14Speaker 9: at key moments and made plays for us, and and
- 20:17Speaker 9: allwed us to finish that game the right way.
- 20:19Speaker 4: So, I mean, this game basically was a playoff game.
- 20:21Speaker 4: They win, they're in. You lose, you're not. I mean
- 20:24Speaker 4: you're out. They could still be in the sokult you guys,
- 20:27Speaker 4: I mean to win that football game the way you did.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Ball hits the upright on a very makeable field goal.
- 20:33Speaker 4: The defense they don't have their dobbers down. I mean
- 20:36Speaker 4: that we're going to get the ball back to the offense.
- 20:37Speaker 4: What about the continenty football that took place after that adversity.
- 20:40Speaker 9: I was saying it, different units picked each other up,
- 20:43Speaker 9: you know, and and in over time we need the
- 20:46Speaker 9: defense to pick up the offense after two drives where
- 20:48Speaker 9: we came up short, and I was really proud of
- 20:51Speaker 9: them doing that, and then of offense finished the job.
- 20:54Speaker 4: Great to see. So Joe's thirty nine for forty nine.
- 20:58Speaker 4: He had a few drops. I mean, I think you
- 21:00Speaker 4: could have even had a four hundred and twelve yard
- 21:02Speaker 4: street touchdowns. His streaks alive two hundred and fifty yards
- 21:05Speaker 4: and more, three touchdowns and more he's building on his
- 21:08Speaker 4: own record. He's got eight games now, he's the only
- 21:10Speaker 4: guy in the Herestony NFL that did it seven games
- 21:12Speaker 4: in a row. Now he's got eight. What can you
- 21:14Speaker 4: say about this guy in his effort?
- 21:16Speaker 9: He's special. He's special, and the guys around him are special,
- 21:19Speaker 9: you know. And I think he'd be the first to
- 21:20Speaker 9: tell you that he's got a great supporting cast that
- 21:22Speaker 9: helps him. But to do it that many games in
- 21:24Speaker 9: a row means you're you're the top, You're you're the best.
- 21:27Speaker 9: And proud of the way he played, probably the way
- 21:29Speaker 9: hung in there. It took some hits today and that's
- 21:31Speaker 9: that's the price to do a business the way we're
- 21:33Speaker 9: going to play football today, and he stepped up and
- 21:36Speaker 9: toughed it out.
- 21:37Speaker 4: They had a traveler on Jamar, they had a traveler
- 21:39Speaker 4: on Tea. I mean they were traveling everybody out there
- 21:42Speaker 4: a little bit. Did they do anything different in terms
- 21:45Speaker 4: of coverage or pressure packages or what's the stuff you'd seen?
- 21:49Speaker 9: There's not a whole lot of different we haven't seen
- 21:50Speaker 9: at this point. You know, we've seen everybody try everything
- 21:52Speaker 9: to slow us down and still able to four hundred.
- 21:56Speaker 9: Proud of where our guys handle that.
- 21:58Speaker 8: Uh.
- 21:58Speaker 9: They got a tough, low red zone defense that makes
- 22:00Speaker 9: it challenging, but our guys stepped up when it matter.
- 22:04Speaker 4: You know, you're going into Pittsburgh. That's a tough place
- 22:06Speaker 4: to play, but you're Joe's within I don't know, three
- 22:09Speaker 4: hundred and odd yards is getting five thousand yards passing,
- 22:14Speaker 4: and he's looking at between forty five and fifty touchdowns.
- 22:16Speaker 4: I mean, those kind of numbers are mind boggling in
- 22:20Speaker 4: the National Football League.
- 22:21Speaker 9: We're probably gonna need them all next week, you know.
- 22:23Speaker 9: So we got to play great, great in all three
- 22:26Speaker 9: phases and we go up there, I'm just gonna be
- 22:27Speaker 9: bad weather. You know, they're gonna they're gonna be pissed off.
- 22:31Speaker 9: We're gonna be ready to roll and it'll be a
- 22:33Speaker 9: great game.
- 22:34Speaker 4: So first thing that comes to mind as you're thinking
- 22:37Speaker 4: about the Pittsburgh stw is I mean you have a
- 22:38Speaker 4: short week and you respond, You have extra time to
- 22:42Speaker 4: try to respond and get ready get ready for the
- 22:44Speaker 4: for the Steelers. What are your first thoughts?
- 22:48Speaker 9: Take a deep breath, and then put a great plan together.
- 22:51Speaker 9: You know, that's it. We get to potentially an extra day,
- 22:53Speaker 9: which we'll utilize. Our guys will be ready, you know,
- 22:56Speaker 9: so we're excited for the opportunity.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Since Lap mentioned it, Joe Burrow needs three hundred and
- 23:02Speaker 2: fifty nine passing yards against the Steelers to become the
- 23:05Speaker 2: tenth quarterback in NFL history to throw for five thousand
- 23:10Speaker 2: or more yards in a season. His four six hundred
- 23:13Speaker 2: and forty one is a new Bengals record. The Bengals

- 23:38Speaker 2: the radio guys recap Lap for all intents and purposes.
- 23:43Speaker 2: The Bengals have been in playoff mode now for four weeks.
- 23:46Speaker 2: They've needed to win each of their last four to
- 23:48Speaker 2: make next week important.
- 23:50Speaker 1: They've done it.
- 23:51Speaker 2: They've even their record at eight and eight, and we've
- 23:54Speaker 2: got a very exciting final week of the season to
- 23:56Speaker 2: look forward to.
- 23:57Speaker 4: I get a lot of respect for him. I mean,
- 23:58Speaker 4: they showed a lot of grit, a lot of determination.
- 24:01Speaker 4: When the ball hit the upright on the field goal
- 24:03Speaker 4: attempt to left upright, the defense could have very easily said, man,
- 24:07Speaker 4: you know, chin on chest, Arburt down. They hit the
- 24:09Speaker 4: ball right back to the offense, and the offense said, hey,
- 24:13Speaker 4: thank you, we're going to do something with this. That
- 24:17Speaker 4: complementary football at the most opportune time to have complementary
- 24:20Speaker 4: football was extraordinary in that football game. And I mean
- 24:23Speaker 4: the Denver Broncos fourth in the NFL and points allowed,
- 24:26Speaker 4: the Bengals hang thirty on anybody, you know, I know
- 24:28Speaker 4: it's overtime. You know they had twenty three in regulation.
- 24:33Speaker 4: Denver doesn't give up those kind of points. They they
- 24:35Speaker 4: allow less than eighteen points a game. Coming in. This
- 24:39Speaker 4: offensive football team is a juggernaut. I don't care what
- 24:44Speaker 4: defense you're playing against. Number nine, number one, number five,
- 24:49Speaker 4: and number thirty, they're all going to hurt you. And
- 24:52Speaker 4: you can't take them all away. And you know they
- 24:55Speaker 4: they pay a lot of attention to Jamar and te
- 24:58Speaker 4: goes off for eleven catches over on hundred thirty yards
- 24:59Speaker 4: and three touchdowns. Joe Burrow stays keeps his one and
- 25:04Speaker 4: only ever to do it turn in fifty yards, passing
- 25:06Speaker 4: them more now in eight straight games, three touchdowns and
- 25:09Speaker 4: more in eight straight games, and he had one taken
- 25:11Speaker 4: back that Yosi had. I mean, this football team, it
- 25:17Speaker 4: is an offensive machine.
- 25:19Speaker 3: It really is.
- 25:21Speaker 4: I just can't say enough about it.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Dan.
- 25:23Speaker 4: They ran twenty four more snaffs than Denver did. They
- 25:29Speaker 4: had the ball for basically fifteen minutes more. They had
- 25:33Speaker 4: the ball for a quarter. They had the ball forty
- 25:35Speaker 4: minutes fifty six seconds counting overtime to twenty six minutes
- 25:38Speaker 4: and fifty seven seconds. I mean, it was unbelievable. And
- 25:42Speaker 4: the reason that they didn't win in regulation, of course,
- 25:44Speaker 4: the two forced downstaffs were they were brutal.
- 25:48Speaker 2: I want to pick up on one of the first
- 25:50Speaker 2: points you just made. If you go back to the
- 25:52Speaker 2: overtime game against Baltimore, Evan McPherson misses the fifty plus
- 25:56Speaker 2: field goal that would have won the game. On the
- 25:58Speaker 2: very next play, Rick Henry runs at fifty plus and
- 26:02Speaker 2: sets up Baltimore's game winning field goal. That was an
- 26:05Speaker 2: instance where it felt like they were so deflated that
- 26:09Speaker 2: you know, just that split second difference between getting a
- 26:11Speaker 2: guy down and letting him go for a big run
- 26:14Speaker 2: occurred in this case, as you pointed out, no Chin's down,
- 26:18Speaker 2: all right, you missed the field goal.
- 26:19Speaker 1: We still got a chance to win if we can
- 26:21Speaker 1: get the ball back for.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Joe and nothing against York. But fortunately didn't have to
- 26:25Speaker 4: go back to him. You know, they just they end up.
- 26:29Speaker 4: I mean, the plays that Tea was making, I mean
- 26:32Speaker 4: it's you know, Joe's like, I'm just going to give
- 26:35Speaker 4: give him an opportunity. He's six 'y four. You know,
- 26:38Speaker 4: he makes contested catches all the time. You know in
- 26:43Speaker 4: some plays he was limping and gimping a little bit
- 26:45Speaker 4: coming off the football field, went right back in the
- 26:47Speaker 4: football game and gave everything he had. It's just, you know,
- 26:51Speaker 4: these guys have a real tight bond. It's obvious they
- 26:55Speaker 4: think a lot of each other. The coaches have done
- 26:57Speaker 4: a great job of not getting gving up on the
- 27:00Speaker 4: football team. The football team's done a good job and
- 27:02Speaker 4: not giving up on the coaches. And you know who knows.
- 27:05Speaker 4: I mean, stranger things have happened. Has to be very strange,
- 27:08Speaker 4: but they've put themselves in position to win four in
- 27:10Speaker 4: a row. You know, at this juncture is you know,
- 27:14Speaker 4: it's pretty special.
- 27:15Speaker 2: As you know, I grew up near Buffalo when I
- 27:18Speaker 2: was a kid. OJ Simpson ran for two thousand and
- 27:20Speaker 2: three yards in a fourteen game season, and I'll never
- 27:23Speaker 2: forget what the Buffalo announcer said in the final game
- 27:26Speaker 2: of that year. He said, it's been our privilege to
- 27:29Speaker 2: watch Oj Simpson run this year. That's how I feel
- 27:33Speaker 2: for us in describing Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase T. Higgins
- 27:36Speaker 2: and others in this incredible offensive season.
- 27:40Speaker 4: This is a defensive football team that you know on
- 27:43Speaker 4: the back end has got really good players and they
- 27:47Speaker 4: can put pressure on you up front. I mean they've
- 27:49Speaker 4: they've got multiple guys. They came into this football game
- 27:52Speaker 4: with five different guys with five saxomore Nobody in the
- 27:55Speaker 4: NFL had that. I mean, they can they can win
- 27:57Speaker 4: from all different spots. And Joe so the defensive coordinator,
- 28:01Speaker 4: brings a lot of people from all kinds of spots.
- 28:03Speaker 4: He gets a lot of people involved. And even with
- 28:07Speaker 4: all that said, and Joe said, I talked to him
- 28:09Speaker 4: after the game a little bit in the locker room
- 28:11Speaker 4: and he said, they're running a lot of different stuff.
- 28:13Speaker 4: We had answers for it.
- 28:15Speaker 8: He is just so.
- 28:16Speaker 4: Intelligent man, and he never's rattled, you know, he just
- 28:21Speaker 4: it is incredible, incredible to watch this guy. You know,
- 28:24Speaker 4: it's like watching a Formula one racer, you know, going
- 28:29Speaker 4: gazillion miles an hour and he's just like his blood
- 28:32Speaker 4: pressure is like way down, you know. And those kind
- 28:35Speaker 4: of people, I mean, when the pressure's on to have
- 28:38Speaker 4: their heart rate go down like it seems to with Joe,
- 28:41Speaker 4: that's rare. That's the ability that doesn't happen very often.
- 28:45Speaker 2: So several weeks ago, kind of out of nowhere, Joe
- 28:49Speaker 2: Burrow in a postgame news conference, expressed confidence that t
- 28:52Speaker 2: Higgins would be back next year, and the following week,
- 28:57Speaker 2: when asked about it, he's described it as a need
- 29:00Speaker 2: for the Bengals to try to bring Tea back next year.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Tea's performance today certainly illustrated how valuable he is to
- 29:07Speaker 2: this team.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I don't know if it'll happen or not.
- 29:10Speaker 2: You know, another team might make a crazy offer that
- 29:12Speaker 2: the Bengals just can't match. But when he is on
- 29:15Speaker 2: this team and makes it difficult for the opposing team
- 29:19Speaker 2: to devote all of their energy to Jamar Chase, it's
- 29:21Speaker 2: an unbelievable combo.
- 29:22Speaker 4: It really is and you know, when Jamorrow goes in motion,
- 29:26Speaker 4: he's gonna shadow and te goes in motion, he has
- 29:28Speaker 4: a shadow. It's like, these two guys are we have
- 29:32Speaker 4: to figure out a way to try to eliminate him.
- 29:35Speaker 4: You know, we're gonna shadow you, me and my shadow
- 29:37Speaker 4: every step of the way. And if we can, we're
- 29:39Speaker 4: gonna put more resources over the top, you know, with safeties.
- 29:43Speaker 4: But it's like at some point Joe Burrow is gonna
- 29:48Speaker 4: he's going to figure out very quickly. A lot of
- 29:50Speaker 4: times it's pre snap and I can't go to Jamarrow
- 29:52Speaker 4: this time, but I can go to Tea. I can't
- 29:54Speaker 4: go to either of them, but I can go to Yosi.
- 29:56Speaker 4: I can't Tee. You know, you gotsiki in the middle
- 29:59Speaker 4: of the foot ball field. I hope Chase Brown's injury
- 30:02Speaker 4: is not too severe because I mean, he's been playing
- 30:04Speaker 4: at such a high level. But you know the thing
- 30:07Speaker 4: is everybody, everybody's ready to come into the football game.
- 30:12Speaker 4: You lose a tackle, incomes one off the bench. You
- 30:14Speaker 4: lose a running back, incomes one off the bench that
- 30:16Speaker 4: is totally prepared. That's a tribute to the players, the coaches,
- 30:20Speaker 4: everybody involved. I mean that's a sign that this football
- 30:24Speaker 4: team is still together and everything is very important to him.
- 30:28Speaker 2: So one of the most obscure stats in Bengals history
- 30:31Speaker 2: has now been erased. Prior to today, they had never scored
- 30:35Speaker 2: an offensive touchdown in overtime. The only TD they had
- 30:40Speaker 2: ever scored in overtime and franchise history was on a
- 30:44Speaker 2: pick six by Corey Sawyer. They've now got one on
- 30:47Speaker 2: offense borrow to t Higgins from three yards away to
- 30:50Speaker 2: win the game. We can eliminate that stat.
- 30:53Speaker 4: And I remember when we were going to overtime games,
- 30:55Speaker 4: you know, back in the day field goal ended it.
- 30:59Speaker 4: You know, it was like so if you got in
- 31:00Speaker 4: field goal range, it's like, all right, let's go get
- 31:03Speaker 4: this thing over with. We don't want to risk a
- 31:04Speaker 4: turnover winning, to risk a stupid penalty win or risk
- 31:07Speaker 4: and we're in field goal range. We feel comfortable about it.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Let's go end it. And that's how it really went
- 31:13Speaker 4: most of the time. I bet in a lot of cases,
- 31:17Speaker 4: games that were decided by touchdown in those years probably
- 31:20Speaker 4: was a defensive play, you know, crazily enough, or you know,
- 31:25Speaker 4: you make a play inside the five yard line. You
- 31:27Speaker 4: just want to finish it, you know, so, but yeah,
- 31:31Speaker 4: it's it is. It's amazing that it's amazing that they
- 31:36Speaker 4: got done what they got done in that overtime. You
- 31:39Speaker 4: talk about an emotional roller coaster during the entire course
- 31:42Speaker 4: of that football game. Really it was any team up
- 31:45Speaker 4: by more than a score at any point in the
- 31:47Speaker 4: football game. I can't remember double digit lead for either
- 31:50Speaker 4: football team in that game. They did didn't they go up?
- 31:54Speaker 4: Did they go up thirteen to three a touchdown? No,
- 31:59Speaker 4: so it was ten to three. Yeah, I don't think.
- 32:00Speaker 4: I don't think there was ever a two score advantage
- 32:03Speaker 4: for either football team. So you talk about yo yo,
- 32:07Speaker 4: back and forth we go, an emotional roller coaster, and
- 32:10Speaker 4: for that thing to finish the way it did, it
- 32:13Speaker 4: was truly remarkable. I mean, it was extremely well played.
- 32:18Speaker 4: There weren't a whole lot of penalties. I mean Denver
- 32:21Speaker 4: had seven for only thirty five yards. The Bengals had
- 32:24Speaker 4: three for fifteen yards, but man, a couple of them.
- 32:27Speaker 4: One of them took away a touchdown, took a Yosavash
- 32:29Speaker 4: touchdown off the board. So, you know, just three penalties
- 32:34Speaker 4: fifteen yards, but there was an impact on those penalties.
- 32:39Speaker 4: But to have just ten penalties in an overtime game
- 32:44Speaker 4: that almost went the full overtime.
- 32:46Speaker 3: It's pretty well played.
- 32:47Speaker 4: Not a whole lot of turnovers to fourth down stops
- 32:50Speaker 4: or you know, the same thing as turnovers in my mind.
- 32:53Speaker 4: But man, when you have three possessions that don end
- 32:57Speaker 4: was some kind of a kick and stay within a
- 33:00Speaker 4: score of a football team and have a score lead
- 33:04Speaker 4: at times on the football team, that's pretty impressive. I mean,
- 33:07Speaker 4: your offense is getting some things done.
- 33:09Speaker 2: All right, let's look ahead. It's off to Pittsburgh. The
- 33:11Speaker 2: Steelers have lost three in a row. The Bengals have
- 33:14Speaker 2: won four in a row. The Steelers won Game one.
- 33:17Speaker 2: Russell Wilson threw for more than four hundred yards. The
- 33:20Speaker 2: Bengals really had trouble defensively in that game. The offense
- 33:24Speaker 2: performed pretty well, but they couldn't shut down Pittsburgh the
- 33:27Speaker 2: first time around.
- 33:28Speaker 4: That's gonna be the key, Dan, because you know, in
- 33:30Speaker 4: speaking with Joe again in the post game, you know,
- 33:33Speaker 4: he said, yeah, we know them, they know us, we
- 33:35Speaker 4: know what we're looking at, and he felt looked, the
- 33:38Speaker 4: look in his eye was pretty confident that he's gonna
- 33:40Speaker 4: be able to move the football and score some points.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Will the Bengals defense, you know, be able to step
- 33:46Speaker 4: up and the way Denver ran the football between the tackles,
- 33:50Speaker 4: the Pittsburgh Steelers are drooling. I mean they have a
- 33:52Speaker 4: good offensive line, that's a good run blocking offensive line.
- 33:56Speaker 4: The Bengals are going to have to bow up between
- 33:58Speaker 4: the tackles. I mean, they're gonna have to. If they don't,
- 34:01Speaker 4: Pittsburgh's gonna run the ball down their throat play action pass.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Russell Wilson's very good with play action pass. You know,
- 34:08Speaker 4: that's when he seems to have the best protection, the
- 34:10Speaker 4: most separation. He's not very tall, and he throws that
- 34:13Speaker 4: deep ball, you know, off a play action pass. So
- 34:16Speaker 4: it's all going to start with controlling the running game.
- 34:18Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think you're going to be able
- 34:20Speaker 4: to stop it necessarily in Pittsburgh, where you know, they
- 34:23Speaker 4: don't have some snaps that are that are you know, positive,
- 34:27Speaker 4: But you can't let them own you between the tackles
- 34:30Speaker 4: like Denver was starting to do. So I think that's
- 34:34Speaker 4: that's number one priority on that defensive side of the football.
- 34:38Speaker 2: So next week is going to be exciting, and it
- 34:40Speaker 2: can really be exciting if Cleveland can beat Miami on
- 34:43Speaker 2: Sunday and the Giants can beat the Indianapolis Colts. Indianapolis
- 34:48Speaker 2: will not have it starting quarterback Anthony Richardson and Tua
- 34:51Speaker 2: Tungo Via Looo is downgraded to doubtful for Miami against Cleveland.
- 34:56Speaker 4: I didn't think I'd ever be rooting for the Cleveland Browns,
- 34:58Speaker 4: but damn it, I'm rooting for the Cleveland Browns.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Let's go Browns. Let's go Cleveland.
- 35:05Speaker 2: That puts a rap on the Denver win. Now it's
- 35:08Speaker 2: time for this week's fun Fact segment, where you get
- 35:10Speaker 2: to know the person under the pads. Time for some
- 35:15Speaker 2: fun facts with tight end Cam Grandy from Benson, Illinois,
- 35:18Speaker 2: in the central part of the state, not too far
- 35:20Speaker 2: from Peoria.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Cam.
- 35:22Speaker 2: When I looked up Benson, there's a word that always
- 35:25Speaker 2: seems to proceed it tiny. The population is in the
- 35:29Speaker 2: four hundreds. Give us a little description of your hometown.
- 35:32Speaker 10: Oh yeah, Benson, Illinois. Like you said, it's a small town,
- 35:34Speaker 10: central Illinois. It's it's one of those towns where everyone
- 35:37Speaker 10: knows everybody and it's really supportive. I mean, I wouldn't
- 35:41Speaker 10: be where I'm at now without the support of my
- 35:44Speaker 10: town and Benson and the family I have there.
- 35:47Speaker 8: I'm grateful for Benson, Illinois. I always will be.
- 35:49Speaker 2: I suspect the people of Benson are extremely proud to
- 35:53Speaker 2: have a hometown kid now on an NFL roster. Have
- 35:56Speaker 2: they shown that?
- 35:57Speaker 10: Oh yeah, I mean my mom sent me pictures of
- 35:59Speaker 10: people on Facebook buying jerseys and asking for autographs.
- 36:02Speaker 8: But yeah, a lot of support.
- 36:04Speaker 10: Comes from Vincent Illinois, and I'm grateful to have them
- 36:06Speaker 10: next to me.
- 36:07Speaker 2: We're visiting the tight end, Cam Grandy. You're six five,
- 36:10Speaker 2: two fifty now, but you are a quarterback in high school,
- 36:14Speaker 2: roughly the same height, but much skinnier.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Is that accurate?
- 36:18Speaker 8: Oh yeah, I was.
- 36:19Speaker 10: I would say it was probably the same like heigh wise,
- 36:21Speaker 10: but yeah, I think I graduated high school at woin't
- 36:23Speaker 10: eighty five, I believe, So yeah, putting on the weight
- 36:26Speaker 10: was definitely a struggle in the beginning of college.
- 36:28Speaker 8: But getting to two fifty five now I feel pretty good.
- 36:31Speaker 2: So how'd you put it on?
- 36:32Speaker 8: A lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?
- 36:35Speaker 10: Pretty much, just peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, protein shakes
- 36:38Speaker 10: and just drinking a lot of water and working out obviously,
- 36:40Speaker 10: and Uh, it took me a solid year and a
- 36:43Speaker 10: half probably or more to really get used to carrying
- 36:46Speaker 10: that much weight and getting used to how my body
- 36:48Speaker 10: would move and react to carrying that much weight. But
- 36:51Speaker 10: over the years it just slowly and surely just got
- 36:53Speaker 10: easier and easier.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Back to high school for a moment, you were named
- 36:56Speaker 2: the small school player of the Year. How much recruiting
- 36:59Speaker 2: in did you get.
- 37:01Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean I went to a two way school
- 37:03Speaker 10: in Illinois, so I really didn't get too much recruit
- 37:05Speaker 10: And actually, I mean I went to obviously a bunch
- 37:07Speaker 10: of camp senior year, but really nothing shook out. I
- 37:10Speaker 10: got a bunch of NAI D three stuff to play quarterback.
- 37:14Speaker 8: But I knew that.
- 37:15Speaker 10: If I wanted to play in the NFL and anything like that,
- 37:17Speaker 10: new quarterback wasn't wasn't the position for me.
- 37:20Speaker 8: So one day I just got a phone call from.
- 37:22Speaker 10: Missouri Western State, a D two school in Saint Joseph, Missouri,
- 37:26Speaker 10: and they said they wanted to offer me to play
- 37:28Speaker 10: tight end. And I like the sound of that, and
- 37:31Speaker 10: I always kind of envisioned myself being like a receiver
- 37:33Speaker 10: tight end kind of guy, and I just took that
- 37:35Speaker 10: opportunity and I ran with it.
- 37:37Speaker 2: That school, which is about an hour from Kansas City,
- 37:40Speaker 2: is where the Chiefs hold training camp. Do they have
- 37:43Speaker 2: great facilities as a result.
- 37:45Speaker 8: Oh yeah, I mean if you look it up, they
- 37:47Speaker 8: probably have.
- 37:48Speaker 10: They're probably top five in terms of a Division two
- 37:50Speaker 10: facilities just with the indoor, the training room, the field itself,
- 37:54Speaker 10: and the practice fields. They're definitely top two when it
- 37:56Speaker 10: comes to Division two facilities.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Did you have any brush is with greatness when the
- 38:01Speaker 2: Chiefs were there for training camp?
- 38:03Speaker 10: Oh yeah, I mean they didn't really pay too much
- 38:05Speaker 10: attention to us and mostly just would they kicked us
- 38:07Speaker 10: out of the facilities.
- 38:08Speaker 8: And stuff, and they're in camp so they could use
- 38:09Speaker 8: it all.
- 38:10Speaker 10: But yeah, I mean you would be walking to practice
- 38:12Speaker 10: and you would see Travis Kels here.
- 38:14Speaker 8: Or Patrick Mahomes drifting on a golf cart to practice.
- 38:16Speaker 10: So that was that was always cool to see them
- 38:19Speaker 10: for a month or two when they were there. But
- 38:20Speaker 10: other than that, I mean they kind of just went
- 38:22Speaker 10: their own way.
- 38:22Speaker 8: And we went on.
- 38:23Speaker 2: We're chatting with Cam Grandy. After four and a half
- 38:26Speaker 2: years there, you transferred to Illinois State for your final
- 38:29Speaker 2: college season and became a first team FCS All American
- 38:32Speaker 2: you had sixty three catches more than six hundred yards.
- 38:35Speaker 2: What did that do for your confidence?
- 38:37Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean I knew once I transferred, I wanted
- 38:39Speaker 10: to go up to the Division Division one level just
- 38:42Speaker 10: to show scouts and that I could play with that
- 38:45Speaker 10: kind of competition and a lot of people I'm thankful
- 38:48Speaker 10: for it, Elinois State as well, coaches and players, especially
- 38:52Speaker 10: Zach Annix said the one the quarterback when I was there,
- 38:55Speaker 10: just pushing me and always asking more of me. And Yeah,
- 38:59Speaker 10: doing that and being out a compete at that level
- 39:01Speaker 10: definitely put a chip on my shoulder.
- 39:03Speaker 2: When did the NFL begin to seem like a realistic possibility.
- 39:07Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 39:07Speaker 10: When I was at Missouri Western, we'd have scouts come
- 39:09Speaker 10: in every once in a while and they would talk
- 39:11Speaker 10: to my position coach and me sometimes. But so I
- 39:14Speaker 10: was always kind of in the back of my head.
- 39:15Speaker 10: But then when I went to Illinois State and I
- 39:16Speaker 10: started putting stuff on the film and showing that I
- 39:20Speaker 10: could compete at the Division one level, it definitely increased
- 39:23Speaker 10: a lot in terms of in terms of scouts in
- 39:27Speaker 10: that But and then obviously the Hula Bowl and Shrinebile
- 39:31Speaker 10: helped with that as well.
- 39:32Speaker 2: You signed with the Bengals as a college free agent
- 39:34Speaker 2: right after the draft.
- 39:35Speaker 10: Why Cincinnati, Really, it was a coach case He had
- 39:39Speaker 10: a lot to do with that. I mean Coach Casey,
- 39:42Speaker 10: especially now and working with him for as long as
- 39:43Speaker 10: I have.
- 39:44Speaker 8: I mean, there's no place I'd rather be.
- 39:46Speaker 10: And also just the skill and the guys they have
- 39:49Speaker 10: in this locker room with Joe Jamar and really everyone,
- 39:51Speaker 10: I mean everyone in this locker room is a good
- 39:54Speaker 10: teammate and they always want the best and want more
- 39:56Speaker 10: out of you as a player. So I find that
- 39:58Speaker 10: to be big And Cincinnati, I mean, it just felt
- 40:01Speaker 10: like it was a good situation to come into and
- 40:05Speaker 10: ended up working out for me.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Coach Casey is James Casey, the tight ends coach. He's
- 40:09Speaker 2: such an interesting guy. He failed at minor league baseball,
- 40:12Speaker 2: went back to college, played a bunch of positions, had
- 40:15Speaker 2: a long NFL career. How do you describe James Casey.
- 40:19Speaker 8: Man, that's tough.
- 40:21Speaker 10: I would probably just describe him as a just a
- 40:22Speaker 10: real stand up dude, really, I mean, like he pushes
- 40:25Speaker 10: me every day, pushes everyone in our room to be
- 40:27Speaker 10: the best that we can. And he's a real technician too.
- 40:30Speaker 10: When it comes to just technique and stuff. That's that's
- 40:33Speaker 10: one thing that I think really has helped me grow
- 40:35Speaker 10: in these last couple of months is just my technique
- 40:38Speaker 10: and him just critique and every little thing just so
- 40:40Speaker 10: that we can try to be perfect every day.
- 40:42Speaker 2: You started on the practice squad, as many college free
- 40:45Speaker 2: agents do, but you have risen to the fifty three
- 40:48Speaker 2: man roster. You made your NFL debut on Thursday night
- 40:52Speaker 2: in Baltimore. You had to catch in that game. What
- 40:54Speaker 2: emotions went through your mind?
- 40:56Speaker 8: Oh?
- 40:56Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean this is obviously something I've I've always
- 40:59Speaker 10: dreamed of my who life is to play in an
- 41:02Speaker 10: NFL game and to do it with these guys, it
- 41:05Speaker 10: means a lot to me.
- 41:06Speaker 8: But just being out there for.
- 41:07Speaker 10: The first time, running out of the tunnel here in
- 41:09Speaker 10: the crowd, roar and stuff like that, I mean, it
- 41:12Speaker 10: took it took a while to finally sink in, but
- 41:14Speaker 10: once it did, was just grateful for the opportunity to
- 41:17Speaker 10: be there and I'm looking forward to continue the season.
- 41:20Speaker 2: All right, A few wild card topics now for rookie
- 41:22Speaker 2: Cam Grandy. Who is your all time favorite athlete in
- 41:26Speaker 2: any sport.
- 41:27Speaker 10: And why any sport I'm gonna go football. I'm gonna
- 41:31Speaker 10: go uh probably probably Jason Witten tight end.
- 41:35Speaker 8: Jason Winn.
- 41:35Speaker 10: I grew up I'm originally from from Texas, so grew
- 41:38Speaker 10: up always a Dallas Cowboy fan. My dad put me
- 41:41Speaker 10: on the Dallas Cowboys early and just always watching, uh,
- 41:44Speaker 10: Jason Winn and just how he can. He's not the
- 41:47Speaker 10: best athlete in the world, but just how you always
- 41:48Speaker 10: find a way to get open.
- 41:49Speaker 8: And the motor he has to play tight end.
- 41:51Speaker 10: I mean, you have to have a high motor to
- 41:53Speaker 10: play this position, and he had that and just watching
- 41:55Speaker 10: him and I think that's what made me want to
- 41:58Speaker 10: maybe potentially be a tight end at the next level.
- 42:00Speaker 2: So was playing in Dallas cool for you?
- 42:03Speaker 8: Oh?
- 42:03Speaker 10: Man, It's That's something I've always dreamed of too. Man,
- 42:06Speaker 10: always dreamed of playing at and T I've always wanted
- 42:08Speaker 10: to go to game there.
- 42:09Speaker 8: Never got the opportunity to do that.
- 42:10Speaker 10: So actually being being there and being on the field
- 42:14Speaker 10: and playing against the Dallas Cowby was awesome. And being
- 42:16Speaker 10: able to have some family from Texas to be there
- 42:18Speaker 10: as well and watch and support me, it was really cool.
- 42:21Speaker 2: I watched an interview that you did before the draft
- 42:24Speaker 2: When you were asked what NFL quarterback you would most
- 42:27Speaker 2: like to catch a pass from, you said, Joe Burrow.
- 42:30Speaker 2: So does your perception of him compare to the real thing.
- 42:34Speaker 8: He speaks for himself.
- 42:36Speaker 10: I mean, he's obviously one of the best, if not
- 42:39Speaker 10: the best quarterback in the NFL. And to be able
- 42:41Speaker 10: to have the opportunity to play next to him and
- 42:43Speaker 10: even get into the huddle with him, I'm truly grateful.
- 42:46Speaker 10: And yeah, I did say that that's funny that you
- 42:48Speaker 10: found that, But yeah, but catching the ball from him,
- 42:51Speaker 10: like you said, I mean, it's something I've dreamed of.
- 42:54Speaker 10: I've always been a fan of Joe. You've not LISHU
- 42:56Speaker 10: and to be able to to play with him on
- 42:58Speaker 10: Sundays is awesome.
- 43:00Speaker 2: He's pretty good. Have you been recognized as an NFL
- 43:03Speaker 2: player yet?
- 43:04Speaker 10: No, I don't think that will happen for a while.
- 43:07Speaker 10: Just like obviously like local town stuff when I go home.
- 43:10Speaker 10: I went home during the BIE for a little bit
- 43:11Speaker 10: and people saw me and asked what was up and stuff.
- 43:14Speaker 10: But now I have not been recognized you as an
- 43:16Speaker 10: NFL player.
- 43:18Speaker 2: What do you like to spend your money on?
- 43:20Speaker 10: Honestly, I'm big into saving, right now, I haven't really
- 43:22Speaker 10: bought anything. The only thing, the biggest perch I probably
- 43:25Speaker 10: had was one of them Sleep Number beds. That that
- 43:28Speaker 10: was probably the biggest thing I've purchased. But I'm really
- 43:30Speaker 10: just trying to save up and make it last and
- 43:33Speaker 10: invest it.
- 43:34Speaker 2: So is the sleep Number bed as good as the
- 43:36Speaker 2: ads look better?
- 43:38Speaker 8: I mean it's hard to get up in the morning.
- 43:40Speaker 10: They got to set multiple alarms just to make sure
- 43:42Speaker 10: him up, and the more I got my phone on alarm,
- 43:43Speaker 10: and then I have an alarm clock next to it,
- 43:45Speaker 10: so I always have that just to make sure I
- 43:47Speaker 10: get up.
- 43:47Speaker 8: But you know it's it's well advertised. Let's say that
- 43:50Speaker 8: that's good.
- 43:51Speaker 2: What unhealthy food? Do you have a hard time saying
- 43:54Speaker 2: no to nutter butters?
- 43:57Speaker 10: Love nutter butters. I pretty much love anything peanut butter.
- 43:59Speaker 10: But a good nutter butter in the freezer, it's like, oh,
- 44:03Speaker 10: that's nutter butter easy.
- 44:04Speaker 2: I might have to stick one in the freezer to
- 44:06Speaker 2: see how that tastes. That sounds pretty good, all right.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Final fun fact for cam Grandy. This one is kind
- 44:10Speaker 2: of deep. If you could meet anyone in history, living
- 44:16Speaker 2: or deceased, who would that person be?
- 44:19Speaker 8: Uh?
- 44:19Speaker 10: I'm gonna go music industry. I'm a big, big country
- 44:22Speaker 10: music guy. I love country music, always have and I
- 44:25Speaker 10: probably just say George Strait.
- 44:27Speaker 8: I think that would be a good one.
- 44:28Speaker 10: I I mean, I've been listening to his music since
- 44:29Speaker 10: as long as I can remember, so for sure.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Kind of an old school answer.
- 44:33Speaker 10: Oh yeah, I mean my dad grew me up on
- 44:36Speaker 10: listening to Moro Haggard, Wayale and Jenny and Swilly Nelson
- 44:39Speaker 10: stuff like that.
- 44:39Speaker 8: So that's all I've known is country music and I
- 44:42Speaker 8: love it.
- 44:42Speaker 2: So this has been fun. Appreciate your time. Best of
- 44:45Speaker 2: Locked the rest of the year.
- 44:46Speaker 8: Thank you, appreciate it.
