- 0:08Speaker 1: And I invited you here, thought I made myself perfectly clear.
- 0:17Speaker 1: But you're a guest to my home. You gotta come
- 0:22Speaker 1: to me empty And I said, no guests, you're presences
- 0:29Speaker 1: presents enough.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I already had too much stuff, So how.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Did you dare to surbey me?
- 0:49Speaker 4: Welcome to I said, no gifts. I'm Richard Wineger. We're
- 0:54Speaker 4: in the studio, just kind of waiting for it to
- 0:57Speaker 4: rain and clear the outdoor air, so God knows when
- 1:01Speaker 4: that will happen. I just I feel like I just
- 1:04Speaker 4: need to get into something, something important right now. In
- 1:08Speaker 4: the last couple of weeks, I've been shocked to hear
- 1:12Speaker 4: people correcting other people for saying I could care less.
- 1:17Speaker 4: And I think it's time to just give up. I
- 1:22Speaker 4: understand this used to be me. It used to bother
- 1:25Speaker 4: me slightly. I could care less, is incorrect or whatever,
- 1:29Speaker 4: but the war has been lost. Stop correcting people. It's
- 1:33Speaker 4: so annoying. It's not going to change anything. Put your
- 1:36Speaker 4: energy towards a hobby or something. I don't care go
- 1:39Speaker 4: mow the lawn. But we have to cut it out now.
- 1:43Speaker 4: It's really starting to get on my nerves. And I
- 1:45Speaker 4: thought we were past it, so the fact that I'm
- 1:48Speaker 4: hearing this twice within a month's time. It's concerning, and
- 1:53Speaker 4: we'll keep our eye on it. I'm keeping my eye
- 1:56Speaker 4: on it, and I'm hoping for you to do better. Okay,
- 2:01Speaker 4: I feel like now that we're doing video, I should
- 2:04Speaker 4: be talking down the barrel of the camera on Alyse.
- 2:07Speaker 4: But that feels crazy too. But now I'm looking right
- 2:09Speaker 4: at the camera, and now people are concerned about what's happening.
- 2:14Speaker 4: I don't know, on Alyse, how do you feel should
- 2:17Speaker 4: I be constantly looking down the camera?
- 2:19Speaker 5: I absolutely think you should. The more unsettling, the better.
- 2:23Speaker 4: I'm going to start every episode now just staring at
- 2:25Speaker 4: the camera. That's a little treat for eventual video release.
- 2:30Speaker 4: God knows when that'll happen. Maybe when the rain comes,
- 2:33Speaker 4: I don't know. We have to get into the podcast.
- 2:35Speaker 4: I love today's guest. It's Raka Shankar. Raka, welcome to
- 2:39Speaker 4: I said no gifts.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Thank you so much for having me. Bridger Shunker, Schunker
- 2:45Speaker 3: like Bunker and Wineger like China Ber.
- 2:50Speaker 4: What else could I do? Dinah fur, I guess that's
- 2:54Speaker 4: more for like if you were reading it and needed help,
- 2:57Speaker 4: right like if you saw my name, and I could
- 3:00Speaker 4: put in parentheses China bir.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Yes and China bird. To me is is if I
- 3:06Speaker 3: don't know your last name and I don't know any
- 3:08Speaker 3: last name, babe, and you say wineger like China bird,
- 3:12Speaker 3: I go, you just said two two different things. They
- 3:17Speaker 3: sound the same, but I don't know what the second
- 3:19Speaker 3: one is, so it doesn't help me.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Right right, Exactly, we're I think last week we were
- 3:25Speaker 4: talking about last names, and I was talking about I've
- 3:27Speaker 4: like it's another thing where I've just kind of given up,
- 3:29Speaker 4: like growing up with two names that most people just
- 3:32Speaker 4: don't understand. I'm just like, Okay, I'll tell you, and
- 3:35Speaker 4: then if you fuck it up, I don't have the energy. Yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 4: I'm just so tired all the time.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Do people give you little nicknames when prompted?
- 3:46Speaker 4: Ooh not? Well what if I was telling people nicknames
- 3:49Speaker 4: they could use. Yeah, yeah, Bridgie, Bridgie, I do get bridgie.
- 3:53Speaker 4: People loved ones will call me that. That's cute, bridge
- 4:01Speaker 4: b I think that's kind of as far as you
- 4:04Speaker 4: can God, and that's when the name stops working.
- 4:09Speaker 3: That's what you've kind of broken. The fundamentical fund.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Is the Namesactly, we've lost the spirit of j Gerder.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Do you have nicknames? Two people nobody?
- 4:20Speaker 3: Uh uh no, My uh family calls me Raka, which
- 4:24Speaker 3: is simply my name. Then even friends growing up, it's
- 4:30Speaker 3: two syllables. There's not like much to milk, right. But
- 4:34Speaker 3: randomly the people that give me nicknames were ohas people
- 4:37Speaker 3: at like work or internships, they would call me Rakes.
- 4:41Speaker 5: Oh.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I took a class and the teachers just started to
- 4:44Speaker 3: call me Ray to two different teachers, and I was like,
- 4:48Speaker 3: it's so interesting that we're going that way.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Rakes brings to mind a dark shed just full of Rakes.
- 4:58Speaker 4: And Ray is in Bridge Territory.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Ray is in Bread Terture. We've sort of we're too
- 5:03Speaker 3: far from the prompt.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Yes, you can't guess what the full name is totally.
- 5:08Speaker 4: It could be anything ray Lean, Ray.
- 5:11Speaker 3: It could be ray Lean.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Which would be a great name, which is so awesome.
- 5:18Speaker 3: If you're Raylean, that's awesome and I love it.
- 5:21Speaker 4: I would happily be a ray Lean.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh my god. It sounds like she deserves
- 5:25Speaker 3: like an album.
- 5:28Speaker 4: It also sounds like a bug killer or something you know, yes, sexticided.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Yeah, like DDT in it. It's like really bad for
- 5:37Speaker 3: your skin. It's ray lean.
- 5:39Speaker 4: That's what you find near a pile of rakes and
- 5:41Speaker 4: a dark shape. Yes, so it all kind of comes
- 5:44Speaker 4: back to a dark shade.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Yes, exactly, what's up?
- 5:48Speaker 4: What's going on?
- 5:49Speaker 3: Hey? You know, I'm grateful to be safe.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Where do you live?
- 5:55Speaker 3: I live on the east side, so I'm not like
- 5:58Speaker 3: in fire territory. But it's interesting, Like very well meaning
- 6:01Speaker 3: people that don't live in LA they have one of
- 6:04Speaker 3: two modes. They either don't check in and you're like okay,
- 6:08Speaker 3: or they think I am the person on fire right,
- 6:12Speaker 3: and yes, they're totally valid. There's a lot of destruction
- 6:14Speaker 3: that has happened that makes total sense. But it is
- 6:17Speaker 3: simply interesting, the two flavors of no text and like.
- 6:21Speaker 4: Frequent repeated just having to constantly remind them, no, I'm
- 6:26Speaker 4: still in between the fires.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Yes, yes, were you okay?
- 6:30Speaker 4: Yes, I'm in Highland Park. So it was like, yeah,
- 6:33Speaker 4: it got a little spooky, but uh, and I left.
- 6:36Speaker 4: I fortunately have some friends who live in Palm Springs
- 6:38Speaker 4: a lot of the time, so I got to just
- 6:40Speaker 4: go stay there. But besides, the power bang out for
- 6:43Speaker 4: a while and the air looking like the end of
- 6:46Speaker 4: the world, and the ash in the yard and the
- 6:49Speaker 4: debris in the yard. Beyond all of.
- 6:51Speaker 3: That, the invisible stuff we're breathing currently.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Totally. I was, Okay, did.
- 6:57Speaker 3: You grow up with like I have friends who are
- 6:59Speaker 3: from the Bay or from la and grew up with
- 7:01Speaker 3: like fire preparedness and stuff, just like people like who
- 7:06Speaker 3: are in Tornado Country. Kind of you grew up with
- 7:09Speaker 3: anything like that.
- 7:10Speaker 4: So I grew up in Utah where the major fear,
- 7:15Speaker 4: the major fear is earthquakes. Yes, but growing up Mormon,
- 7:20Speaker 4: Mormons also are trying to always be prepared for the
- 7:23Speaker 4: end of the world. So you kind of you, yes,
- 7:28Speaker 4: except you would think so. You would think so. But
- 7:32Speaker 4: this is where I kind of parted ways outside of
- 7:34Speaker 4: you know, the Mormon Church and I parted ways and
- 7:36Speaker 4: a few on a few.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Different earthquake preparedness.
- 7:40Speaker 4: I like that they had food in their basements. I
- 7:42Speaker 4: didn't like that they had canned goods. This is a moral.
- 7:47Speaker 3: I feel.
- 7:49Speaker 4: I've got to get out of this. I can't be
- 7:52Speaker 4: around bags of rice and canned beans, too many bottles
- 7:55Speaker 4: of water. I actually appreciate that about them, But I,
- 7:59Speaker 4: as someone who's not prepared for just daily life. How
- 8:03Speaker 4: in the world would I be prepared for future catastrophes.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you're an iced coffee drinker. I can't
- 8:09Speaker 3: just say hello at the another the world. That's just water.
- 8:14Speaker 4: I'm not gonna be able to Yes, you can't ice this.
- 8:17Speaker 4: I did recently buy one what is that a palette?
- 8:21Speaker 4: A box a thing of bottled water that I've slid
- 8:24Speaker 4: under the bed. Uh. And then I have a battery
- 8:28Speaker 4: or a flashlight without batteries.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Great, you'll find those later, it doesn't matter.
- 8:31Speaker 4: I'll find those in the middle of all in the wreckage,
- 8:34Speaker 4: just going through my junk drawering.
- 8:37Speaker 3: You're going to go down. You're a best buie. It's fine,
- 8:40Speaker 3: you can buy batteries.
- 8:42Speaker 4: I can lout a best buy. This is when looting
- 8:45Speaker 4: comes in hand. Yeah, you've got to get your triple
- 8:47Speaker 4: as Uh. Yeah. So in theory I could be prepared,
- 8:53Speaker 4: I'm not. I should be. And then so when I
- 8:56Speaker 4: am found underneath a pile of you know, burning rubble,
- 8:59Speaker 4: people will be like, well, he knew better, Yeah, and
- 9:02Speaker 4: he kind of had it coming. Cute. Okay, Yeah, I
- 9:06Speaker 4: think that's cute. Like I think at a funeral to
- 9:09Speaker 4: hear someone say he kind of had it coming. Yeah,
- 9:11Speaker 4: I think people appreciate that.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Yeah, there's definitely there's like I love that funeral package
- 9:16Speaker 3: for like the guys who deserve it.
- 9:18Speaker 4: You know, they pick out all of their least flattering
- 9:21Speaker 4: photos to blow up into huge things. Yeah. I think
- 9:26Speaker 4: that ultimately, at a funeral, you want people just kind
- 9:29Speaker 4: of laying it all out.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Where else are they going to do it?
- 9:34Speaker 4: Yeah, they're not going to say it to your face
- 9:35Speaker 4: that you repair yourself or be a better person. No,
- 9:38Speaker 4: you wait till they're dead. Yes, and then you say
- 9:41Speaker 4: these are the things I would have changed. Yes, And
- 9:43Speaker 4: people like to hear that.
- 9:44Speaker 3: I have notes I've gotten.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Did you grow up on the East Coast?
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm from Philadelphia.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Okay, so yours was Hurricane ish.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Here's what's crazy. I was like, because I was talking
- 9:57Speaker 3: to my friend who's from the Bay Area, and she
- 9:59Speaker 3: did like quick preparedness I think, uh like fire preparedness,
- 10:05Speaker 3: and I was like, I don't think I'm prepared for anything.
- 10:09Speaker 4: Yeah, because you guys are. We kind of just kind
- 10:11Speaker 4: of the best place to be.
- 10:12Speaker 3: It's little of this kind of the most place to be.
- 10:15Speaker 3: I mean, the East Coast just has different weather throughout
- 10:19Speaker 3: the year. But no, we have extreme weather, of course,
- 10:23Speaker 3: but it's perhaps it's just strange we don't teach our
- 10:27Speaker 3: children to be prepared with it for it, like we
- 10:30Speaker 3: we're I got a lot of school lockdown drills.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Okay, that's always a fun one.
- 10:35Speaker 3: That's kind of a natural disaster in itself.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Sure you just count people, but yeah, no, Like.
- 10:45Speaker 3: We've had hurricanes during the time I was in Philadelphia,
- 10:49Speaker 3: and extreme snow and stuff, but never like, uh, here's
- 10:53Speaker 3: what you do. And maybe that's just my privilege speaking
- 10:56Speaker 3: that I didn't have to think too hard. So yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 3: I think I'm pretty boned.
- 11:02Speaker 4: Did you ever experience, I mean an earthquake?
- 11:05Speaker 3: Not in Philadelphia? When I lived in New York, there
- 11:08Speaker 3: was like a tiny baby one that I'm sure anyone
- 11:12Speaker 3: that was in New York, And like, what was what
- 11:13Speaker 3: year is it? It was like two thousand and twelve or
- 11:17Speaker 3: something where I was bringing a night job. So I
- 11:19Speaker 3: remember this because I was sleeping during the day, okay,
- 11:22Speaker 3: And it happened at like ten in the morning or something,
- 11:24Speaker 3: and I woke up in my apartment building, which was
- 11:27Speaker 3: like kind of a crappy building. Was just I just
- 11:29Speaker 3: felt a little wobble and I'd never felt an earthquake before.
- 11:33Speaker 3: But what I literally thought, because I found that apartment
- 11:35Speaker 3: for me and my friends, I was like, I picked
- 11:37Speaker 3: a shitty apartment. It's wobbling in the wind. Damn, I'm
- 11:42Speaker 3: so stupid about I pick a wobbley apartment. Of course,
- 11:45Speaker 3: of course it's my fault, of course.
- 11:48Speaker 4: So that was as far as the fear went. Was
- 11:50Speaker 4: just a self.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Hatred yes, and so on the East Coast they preprairie
- 11:55Speaker 3: for that. I knew what to do.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Yeah, of course, everybody's really built to kind of just
- 12:00Speaker 4: blaming themselves immediately.
- 12:02Speaker 3: But yeah, other than that, I had not experienced an
- 12:05Speaker 3: earthquake on these coats.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Have you felt one out here?
- 12:07Speaker 3: Yes? Okay, now it's it's cuckoo. I still was like,
- 12:11Speaker 3: very not accustomed to it when it happened, right, because
- 12:15Speaker 3: it's so bizarre. It feels like a truck going by.
- 12:18Speaker 3: But then you're like, hold on, there's too much happening
- 12:20Speaker 3: with this truck. It's like truck after truck after truck.
- 12:23Speaker 3: What's my god? Uh, parade, it's a truck parade.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Favorite type of parade. I love a truck. You get
- 12:30Speaker 4: all those trucks in a row.
- 12:32Speaker 3: It's gorgeous. I hope to be the queen.
- 12:36Speaker 4: The queen of the truck.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Uh no. That's the thing with earthquakes here where, I'm like,
- 12:43Speaker 4: when I'm experiencing one, now, I'm like, I try to
- 12:45Speaker 4: remain calm. But I think that might be bad as well,
- 12:48Speaker 4: because what if it's the one and I'm like, well,
- 12:50Speaker 4: it's just another it's a truck parade, and then suddenly
- 12:52Speaker 4: things get worse and worse, and now I'm again buried
- 12:56Speaker 4: and people are saying, he had it coming, he.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Had it coming.
- 13:00Speaker 4: That's my I don't know how. I don't know how
- 13:02Speaker 4: to fine tune myself emotionally for an earthquake.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Yeah, that is a good point, Like you have to
- 13:08Speaker 3: be calm, but you still have to be paranoid, like
- 13:12Speaker 3: it is the one right, right. You can't just be
- 13:15Speaker 3: like who cares? Kick back, right, turn on all your
- 13:19Speaker 3: electronics and whatever.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Put all of your finest glass on the edge of
- 13:24Speaker 4: a canching. Yeah, I guess. Uh, there's just no winning
- 13:31Speaker 4: with an earthquake. And where so I guess. But what
- 13:34Speaker 4: we have determined is that Philly is the safest place.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Philavia might be among the safest places to be.
- 13:41Speaker 4: I mean maybe Boise, Idaho. Where does that catch on fire?
- 13:46Speaker 2: Now?
- 13:47Speaker 3: What's going on in Boise? That is a good question
- 13:50Speaker 3: because it's kind of west, But does it right?
- 13:54Speaker 4: It's not fully West coast, Yeah, it's not. It's not
- 13:58Speaker 4: really the mountainous part of the West. Yeah, it's its
- 14:01Speaker 4: own little thing. And I think that's it's kind of
- 14:04Speaker 4: like a drip of Canada. I think it's like kind
- 14:07Speaker 4: of that energy of Canadian calm.
- 14:10Speaker 3: It's like a Yeah, I don't I like it being
- 14:13Speaker 3: a drip it.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Yeah. And Montana similarly, although Montana, I feel like, is
- 14:17Speaker 4: so big that something's got to happen.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Mountain's gotta fall down.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Yeah, things are gonna happen when you have a state
- 14:24Speaker 4: of that.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Something bison roll down a hill and squash you or something.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, of course one runs off a cliff on
- 14:29Speaker 4: to you. Yes, this kind of thing. But I guess fire,
- 14:33Speaker 4: fire is coming for all of us. Let's be honest.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Fire is the universal equalizer. It can happen anywhere and
- 14:39Speaker 3: do anything at once.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Right, you get a little bit of that. Wind. Wind
- 14:44Speaker 4: is the worst element, and no one's on board for.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Who knew. We think wind, We think breeze if we're lucky,
- 14:54Speaker 3: and then the Santa Annas come and it's just like no, no, no, no,
- 14:59Speaker 3: off awful.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Outside of breeze, wind is a waste. It just intensifies
- 15:06Speaker 4: whatever's happening around you. It's noisy, you know, blows things around.
- 15:12Speaker 3: The elements the earth. Wait, fire, wind, water, earth, go ahead,
- 15:18Speaker 3: or I would okay, are any earth?
- 15:20Speaker 4: Wind and fire?
- 15:21Speaker 3: Earth wind and fire? Are any of those good? In excess?
- 15:24Speaker 3: I think earth is good in does earth access mean earthquake?
- 15:28Speaker 4: Right? That's I don't.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Consider too much earth to be the cause of an
- 15:32Speaker 3: earth right.
- 15:33Speaker 4: It's more of like, well, I guess it is that
- 15:35Speaker 4: there are crowding each outing. It's like crouting each other.
- 15:38Speaker 4: It's like it is a wisdom teeth situation.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Oh my god, you have to remove a couple parts
- 15:45Speaker 3: of the earth so they stop.
- 15:46Speaker 4: We got to get a dentist in there to just
- 15:49Speaker 4: jerk those things out. Have you had your wisdom teeth
- 15:52Speaker 4: removed very recently? Recently? Yes, when.
- 15:57Speaker 3: It was not last Thanksgiving but the thanks Giving before?
- 16:00Speaker 4: Okay, were you back home? No?
- 16:02Speaker 3: What happened was so I'm I'm a very good student
- 16:07Speaker 3: when it comes to going to the dentist. I'm going
- 16:10Speaker 3: every time I'm supposed to, I have Dentisty's dentistry is
- 16:16Speaker 3: also a little bit crazy because I have friends that
- 16:20Speaker 3: just genetically have bad teeth and they do so much
- 16:24Speaker 3: to take care of them, and then they get shipped
- 16:26Speaker 3: from their dentist, and I just my geens have totally like,
- 16:30Speaker 3: my teeth are fine, and so I don't get chipped
- 16:34Speaker 3: for my dentists, and so my dentist visits are pretty easy.
- 16:38Speaker 3: But I have been a little diligent checker and like,
- 16:41Speaker 3: should I get my wizard teeth out? And they're I
- 16:42Speaker 3: was like, no, you're fine. I was like, okay, Wow,
- 16:45Speaker 3: she's blessed.
- 16:46Speaker 4: She's perfect. Yeah, And room for everyone.
- 16:49Speaker 3: There's a room for everybody in there, hop on it.
- 16:52Speaker 3: There's plenty of room. Of the word of my weird.
- 16:54Speaker 3: I'll have as many teeth as you can allow. But
- 16:58Speaker 3: all of a sudden, all of a sudden, in my
- 17:03Speaker 3: mid thirties, I had I had toothpain one day. Oh no,
- 17:08Speaker 3: and I went what and they went, you need invisil
- 17:11Speaker 3: line and I went, okay, interesting, I did it. I
- 17:15Speaker 3: was very good about it.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Oh, you really are on top of it doing the homework.
- 17:18Speaker 3: I'm doing my homework, did the Invizil line, and then
- 17:21Speaker 3: they went by the way you need your wisdom teeth
- 17:23Speaker 3: up and I was like, wait.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Why simultaneously after after music so they could thought have
- 17:29Speaker 4: been happening before because now I had I straightened four
- 17:34Speaker 4: extra teeth.
- 17:35Speaker 3: That you're now just taking out. I did all this
- 17:37Speaker 3: work and now you're removing them. They were like, yeah,
- 17:40Speaker 3: it's just gonna be harder for you to clean those
- 17:42Speaker 3: teeth as you get older. I'm like, but I asked
- 17:44Speaker 3: about this a million times that everybody was like no.
- 17:47Speaker 3: So this happened two years ago and it was at
- 17:50Speaker 3: a thing. It was the day before Thanksgiving. I was
- 17:52Speaker 3: flying out that day to Philadelphia. Oh, and they were like, yeah,
- 17:55Speaker 3: you only need your wisdom teeth that. It's like, is
- 17:57Speaker 3: this something you can do now? I'm so psyched. I
- 18:00Speaker 3: just want to get things over it.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Oh my god, this is a big thing to just
- 18:03Speaker 4: suddenly do.
- 18:04Speaker 3: I was like, can you just do this now? And
- 18:06Speaker 3: they're like, uh, yeah, we'll do one side of your
- 18:09Speaker 3: mouth and then the other side will be functional. Still,
- 18:11Speaker 3: it is like awesome, absolutely insanely flippant way to decide
- 18:16Speaker 3: to do this I was going on a flight in
- 18:17Speaker 3: three hours, and I was like, am I okay to
- 18:20Speaker 3: be on a plane, And like, yeah.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Did they knock you out?
- 18:24Speaker 2: No?
- 18:24Speaker 4: WHOA, So you've really just went for it?
- 18:27Speaker 3: He did local?
- 18:28Speaker 4: Oh?
- 18:30Speaker 3: Am I insane digging out?
- 18:33Speaker 4: That is a full excavation. Heard it? Oh? What is
- 18:36Speaker 4: the noise?
- 18:38Speaker 3: It is like, Oh, it's like if you took two
- 18:42Speaker 3: pieces of a burlap sack and just rip the seam.
- 18:46Speaker 3: It's just such an intense rip noise. And I was like,
- 18:50Speaker 3: why did I have to hear that? And you might
- 18:53Speaker 3: be saying, Raco, why didn't you ask to be knocked out.
- 18:56Speaker 3: I'm not the dentist. I don't know. I'm trusting whatever
- 18:58Speaker 3: they're doing. They said I only needed low. I asked
- 19:00Speaker 3: for local.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Okay.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 19:02Speaker 3: They said they could rip out two of my teeth
- 19:03Speaker 3: in a day and then I could go on a plane.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:06Speaker 3: They said I could drive home. What so I pat
- 19:09Speaker 3: all this gauze in my mouth. I drove fully, drove home,
- 19:12Speaker 3: went home. My roommate starts talking to me and I
- 19:14Speaker 3: was like, I got my woodom teeth. I was like,
- 19:16Speaker 3: did you just drive home? I was like, I was like,
- 19:18Speaker 3: shouldn't you be like, yeah. I was like, went home,
- 19:23Speaker 3: met my partner's parents for the first time the next day, perfectly.
- 19:29Speaker 3: It was incredible. I was like, hi, I can only
- 19:31Speaker 3: chew out of one side of my mouth. Whatever. I
- 19:33Speaker 3: did not realize how crazy of a decision that was.
- 19:36Speaker 4: What was the recovery time for that?
- 19:39Speaker 3: Like, what do we mean by recovery? Because like, because
- 19:44Speaker 3: because you you there's stuff going on there for so long.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I felt like I could properly eat after like a
- 19:53Speaker 3: month or something, but but I could still like I
- 19:57Speaker 3: could still eat. I just had to kind of like
- 20:00Speaker 3: care for the game. Yeah, and then I got the
- 20:02Speaker 3: other two removed like a month after or something. Okay,
- 20:07Speaker 3: very weird.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Was there any talk of like the dry socket this
- 20:10Speaker 4: kind of thing.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Everybody was talking about dry socket?
- 20:14Speaker 4: Pyful love it. It's a it's a topic that people
- 20:17Speaker 4: love to get into.
- 20:18Speaker 3: I was like, I will do anything not to get
- 20:21Speaker 3: dry socket. Of course, literally do anything. I was so
- 20:25Speaker 3: paranoid writing dry socket.
- 20:27Speaker 4: I don't quite know what that even means.
- 20:29Speaker 3: I think it is when it does not clot properly,
- 20:34Speaker 3: so it can't heal. So like if you brushed you
- 20:38Speaker 3: rigorously or you're like doing nug up and you're like
- 20:40Speaker 3: sucking the clot out. You're just an exposing nerve. And
- 20:45Speaker 3: I don't know that I would name that dry socket
- 20:47Speaker 3: if I had.
- 20:47Speaker 4: It's very ready.
- 20:49Speaker 3: It seems internally wet.
- 20:51Speaker 4: The problem is fluid wetness.
- 20:54Speaker 3: So think about it. I think about a name change.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Dry socket. You're picturing a little hole, tumbleweeds blowing through
- 21:00Speaker 4: it or something.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I'm picturing kind of the Southwest.
- 21:04Speaker 4: It's like gorgeous desert.
- 21:06Speaker 3: It's so beautiful. We're in not Sonoma, Sedona. We're in Sedona.
- 21:12Speaker 4: You've got to see the sunsets in this dry socket.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Beautiful. I go on vacation in a dry socket. It's
- 21:18Speaker 3: just more quiet there, just so in the cost of livings.
- 21:22Speaker 4: The architecture all beautiful. If you love mid century, get
- 21:27Speaker 4: into a dry socket. Wow. So I didn't. Yeah, I
- 21:31Speaker 4: didn't realize it was a wet situation.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I think that's what it is. Literally, nobody cracked me.
- 21:37Speaker 4: But dentists turn off the podcast.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Now your primary demo is dentists.
- 21:42Speaker 4: It's almost entirely dentists. We can't get them off, you know.
- 21:44Speaker 4: I'm trying to just tell dentists stay away from the podcast.
- 21:48Speaker 4: They're hooked.
- 21:48Speaker 3: They don't eat sugar, so then they get hooked on this.
- 21:50Speaker 4: They get hooked on this. You've got to fill in
- 21:52Speaker 4: that that place in your life somehow. So the dentists
- 21:55Speaker 4: are coming for me, the orthodontists, the hygienists. I just
- 21:59Speaker 4: was dentist earlier this week and hygena said, was it
- 22:04Speaker 4: this week or was it last Friday? That's obviously very
- 22:07Speaker 4: an important detail.
- 22:08Speaker 3: No, I like it.
- 22:09Speaker 4: The hygienas said to me, things have gotten so crazy
- 22:12Speaker 4: since they caught Diddy. It's like, I don't know how
- 22:16Speaker 4: to did they in this conversation.
- 22:18Speaker 3: In society or in their office.
- 22:21Speaker 4: It's a operation.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Let me tell you. Our lead dentist is the one
- 22:27Speaker 3: who caught him.
- 22:28Speaker 4: You get that lead vest on somebody and they cannot
- 22:30Speaker 4: get away.
- 22:31Speaker 3: That's so weird. Interesting, And to bring up like such
- 22:37Speaker 3: a horrible subject matter while they're in your mouth also
- 22:42Speaker 3: like gives them carte blanche and be like, here are
- 22:45Speaker 3: my thoughts on Didty and why he's innocent?
- 22:47Speaker 4: You know, I think that that must be part of
- 22:50Speaker 4: the appeal of becoming a dentist or hygienas, of being
- 22:52Speaker 4: like you have the most captive audience. They have to
- 22:55Speaker 4: agree with anything you say, yes, and they can't really
- 22:58Speaker 4: add or are ar you with because essentially all you
- 23:02Speaker 4: can say is.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Uhhh, you're kind of like their robot boyfriend or something
- 23:05Speaker 3: like Lars and the real Girl. They're just like God,
- 23:08Speaker 3: no one understands on my art.
- 23:13Speaker 4: Yeah, so that was I mean, it was kind of
- 23:15Speaker 4: a things have been crazy. I don't know that it
- 23:19Speaker 4: was because Ditty got caught.
- 23:21Speaker 3: I don't know if Yeah, that's my thing, but Philip
- 23:25Speaker 3: started earlier.
- 23:26Speaker 4: I assume things for Diddy have gotten crazy since he
- 23:29Speaker 4: and maybe that's.
- 23:29Speaker 3: What they met. They're like, oh for Diddy.
- 23:32Speaker 4: I mean, and you know, I'm not getting invited to
- 23:35Speaker 4: the parties anymore.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Yeah, all my white clothes are totally waists.
- 23:40Speaker 4: All of this bleach I just have to throw out,
- 23:43Speaker 4: uh no, dentistry, dry sockets. I don't know. These are
- 23:48Speaker 4: things I don't want to talk about anymore because there's
- 23:50Speaker 4: something else I need to talk to you about. Yeah, Rica,
- 23:54Speaker 4: I was really excited to have you here today. Yeah,
- 23:57Speaker 4: we met recently. You told me you had been in
- 24:01Speaker 4: my house, yes, which is an interesting thing to find out.
- 24:06Speaker 3: But and you weren't there.
- 24:08Speaker 4: I was I was not there. You were there with
- 24:11Speaker 4: our friend Patrick McDonald.
- 24:12Speaker 3: I was, and we were using your oven in your kitchen.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Right, just baking away.
- 24:17Speaker 3: It was really nice.
- 24:17Speaker 4: What were you baking?
- 24:19Speaker 3: We mean talk to cookies okay, and a berry crumble. Oh,
- 24:23Speaker 3: it was really you were sort of berries. I think
- 24:26Speaker 3: it was blackberries.
- 24:27Speaker 4: Okay.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you should have been there.
- 24:29Speaker 4: I should have been. It would have been.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Great, but you weren't. So alas and we I think
- 24:35Speaker 3: we played your piano.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Oh of course, I got to get on the piano.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Do you play the piano? No, no, no, okay, that's
- 24:43Speaker 4: the best way to play the piano. Just bang on it.
- 24:46Speaker 4: I am away. Uh, and now I'm distracting myself from
- 24:49Speaker 4: the more important topic at hand. The podcast is called
- 24:52Speaker 4: I said no gift.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Yes I saw that.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Okay, so so you did see it. And then you
- 24:58Speaker 4: just blatantly said I'm going to bring a gift to
- 25:01Speaker 4: this podcast. Yes, I don't care.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Here's the thing, I just it. The studio is a
- 25:11Speaker 3: little hideous, to be honest.
- 25:16Speaker 4: It's disgusting.
- 25:17Speaker 3: And so it felt like one of those It felt
- 25:19Speaker 3: like a cry for help, to be honest, like when
- 25:22Speaker 3: your friend is like, no, no, I'm Okay, guys like
- 25:25Speaker 3: you don't need to come over, and you're like, I'm
- 25:26Speaker 3: coming over. I can tell you've been drinking, you have
- 25:29Speaker 3: a problem, and we've all noticed. That's sort of what
- 25:32Speaker 3: it felt like.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Okay, sure, I was like, fair, fair.
- 25:35Speaker 3: I don't think this is real.
- 25:38Speaker 4: I have to take a bath anytime I leave the studio. Yeah,
- 25:41Speaker 4: just covered in scum.
- 25:44Speaker 3: It's not good in here.
- 25:48Speaker 4: It's all fluorescent lighting. Yeah, it's just kind of a
- 25:51Speaker 4: tile floor. Yeah, slime everywhere you're just you're touching the table,
- 25:55Speaker 4: there's dirt, visible dirt all over. Writing your name.
- 26:00Speaker 3: R ass plus initials of your choice in a heart
- 26:04Speaker 3: anywhere on this table.
- 26:06Speaker 4: So you thought you'd bring a little something for that reason? Okay, Yeah,
- 26:10Speaker 4: that's yeah, totally fair.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:12Speaker 4: Should I open it here on the podcast?
- 26:13Speaker 3: I think I think open it on the podcast, just
- 26:16Speaker 3: so there's two items in there. One is for you
- 26:19Speaker 3: and one is for me.
- 26:23Speaker 4: It's in this little bag, the cutest little bag. Yeah,
- 26:26Speaker 4: he's got a little snowman on it.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Happy.
- 26:29Speaker 4: This was a I think this is a winter bag.
- 26:31Speaker 4: You can go into January. I think you can go
- 26:34Speaker 4: into late February.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Listen, I'm gonna milk, whatever I can out of this bag.
- 26:38Speaker 3: I'm gonna start using it October thirty first, and I'm
- 26:41Speaker 3: gonna stop using it February thirteen, March fifteenth. You know
- 26:46Speaker 3: when the salsice comes, I stop using this bag.
- 26:48Speaker 4: When they close the ski resorts. That's when you know.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Time to bring out your springtime bag.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Yeah, my big flower bag with flower, a big flower
- 26:57Speaker 3: on it.
- 26:58Speaker 4: Okay, I'm going to reach in here. Yeah, I got
- 27:01Speaker 4: some tissue.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:02Speaker 4: I feel like we're having a tissue renaissance on this podcast.
- 27:04Speaker 4: A lot of guests didn't bring tissue for a while.
- 27:06Speaker 4: Now they're back. We're getting a crunch, we're getting a swish.
- 27:10Speaker 3: I think it's nice because for three extra seconds, you
- 27:15Speaker 3: don't know what the gift is.
- 27:17Speaker 4: And for that adds to the suspense.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:20Speaker 4: The violins are like amping up, yeah, screeching. Yeah, you
- 27:23Speaker 4: know something's wrong.
- 27:24Speaker 3: It's like slow mo.
- 27:25Speaker 4: Yeah. Okay, does it matter which order I take these outings?
- 27:29Speaker 3: No, I'll just tell you which ones which.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Okay, I could tell it feels like there's more than
- 27:33Speaker 4: two things.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Well, one of them has a head that comes off.
- 27:36Speaker 4: Okay, what I'm doing right now feels like that Halloween
- 27:39Speaker 4: game where you reach into a thing and it's spaghetti
- 27:40Speaker 4: and you're like, oh, it's brains. Yes, but that's not
- 27:43Speaker 4: what this is. Okay, I'm bringing out the first thing.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Okay, So that's the bottom part of my gift. This
- 27:48Speaker 3: is for me because I wanted a little fun here too.
- 27:51Speaker 4: This is okay, So what i'll describe, what I'm saying
- 27:54Speaker 4: right now is a cow's body with what i'll say, hue,
- 28:00Speaker 4: gorgeous utter, and then inside there's no head. It's as
- 28:06Speaker 4: of right now, decapitated. And inside the head there's the
- 28:09Speaker 4: tiniest ice cream cone, just the cutest little ice cream cone.
- 28:14Speaker 4: So I'm going to reach it and try to find
- 28:16Speaker 4: the head of the cow.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Yes, so that, yeah, that goes on top. The head
- 28:20Speaker 3: goes on top. The head goes on top, so that
- 28:22Speaker 3: you don't for three extra seconds you don't know that
- 28:24Speaker 3: there's an ice cream cone inside the cow's head.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Look how happy the cow is.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Unbelievable, how happy she's so cute.
- 28:31Speaker 4: It's such a cutey. What what is this object?
- 28:36Speaker 3: My friends got this for me at a state sale. Okay,
- 28:41Speaker 3: somebody passed on and left this behind as part of
- 28:47Speaker 3: their estate. And now it is part of my estate
- 28:50Speaker 3: and I brought it to just again up this space.
- 28:52Speaker 3: I felt like eyes the guests should have something that
- 28:54Speaker 3: reference and represents me here.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Yeah, what do you suppose? Like the the reason is
- 29:01Speaker 4: for this to exist because it seems like you would
- 29:02Speaker 4: take this like if it were a larger object, you
- 29:04Speaker 4: would take the head off and put something in here totally.
- 29:07Speaker 3: But you can't because there's a small ice cream cone.
- 29:08Speaker 4: There is an ice cream cone in there. This would
- 29:11Speaker 4: I don't think this would even hold a nickel.
- 29:14Speaker 3: I think you are correct.
- 29:16Speaker 4: I think possibly a dime.
- 29:19Speaker 3: That's very generous of you. I think the absolute most
- 29:23Speaker 3: it could hold is two beads. I think if you
- 29:29Speaker 3: are looking to store two beads that fell off of
- 29:32Speaker 3: a shirt, you could put it inside of.
- 29:33Speaker 4: This two those are large beads though, pine picture those
- 29:38Speaker 4: are the tiny beads, And I would say this is
- 29:40Speaker 4: a forty bead cow if you had those tiny ones.
- 29:43Speaker 3: If you haven't like gorgeous embroidery.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Yes or something embroidery beads.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Yeah, you're in Sedona. In your your dry socket, you
- 29:52Speaker 3: could probably store forty beads in there.
- 29:54Speaker 4: What a way to retire? Oh, it's just doing your
- 29:57Speaker 4: bead work in a dry socket.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Oh so beautifu fall this time of year.
- 30:01Speaker 4: But yeah, the larger beads, you know, more like the
- 30:03Speaker 4: Friendship bracelet beads.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Yeah, this is a two beat. I think it's a
- 30:06Speaker 3: two bead cow. But there is a small ice cream can.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Outside of that. It's more of a like an art piece.
- 30:13Speaker 4: I suppose.
- 30:15Speaker 3: What's interesting is I believe I remember googling this after
- 30:18Speaker 3: I received it, and I think there's like a line
- 30:22Speaker 3: of these where it is an animal where you open
- 30:25Speaker 3: its head and there's an item inside. I think my
- 30:27Speaker 3: friend scored me the best one. I think cow with
- 30:29Speaker 3: the ice cream is the best combination.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Oh interesting, do you remember any others?
- 30:33Speaker 3: I'm gonna probably be truly making these up. I think
- 30:37Speaker 3: there was like a dog with a bone, okay, like
- 30:41Speaker 3: a cat with yarn, and I remember thinking too obviously.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Yeah, real a to be, really really a to be.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Take me from a to Q, go cow, make milk, milk,
- 30:52Speaker 3: become cream cream, Get sweetened, sweetened cream, get turned turned,
- 30:58Speaker 3: get scooped onto and ice cream crown cow with ice
- 31:01Speaker 3: cream cone.
- 31:02Speaker 4: Yes, the chicken should have bare minimum a chicken.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Nugget horrifying, Uh so scary?
- 31:10Speaker 4: Or how about a pen with a feather on it?
- 31:14Speaker 3: That's a will, Yes, a quill with the declaration of independence.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Just do declaration of independence. Now it's a Dan Brown novel.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Figure it out? Why is it there?
- 31:24Speaker 4: Tom Hanks is on the case a chicken. Why did
- 31:30Speaker 4: the Catholic Church care so much about this chicken? So?
- 31:35Speaker 4: Do you remember, like what time period were these popular?
- 31:39Speaker 4: Was this a trendy thing? Is this a beanie baby
- 31:41Speaker 4: of like the late eighties? Is this because it looks
- 31:44Speaker 4: I mean, design wise, I think it's very like fun.
- 31:47Speaker 4: It feels almost modern.
- 31:49Speaker 3: It feels you know, that's such a good question. There's
- 31:52Speaker 3: a realism to it that doesn't say modern to me.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Like the cow has a spine. If you look on
- 31:58Speaker 3: the ball, no you like that.
- 32:01Speaker 4: I'm going to look, but I'm not going to be comfortable.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Okay, Oh what this cow? This cow has values, She
- 32:08Speaker 3: has a spine, she has a backbone.
- 32:12Speaker 4: She speaks up for what she wants and what she wants.
- 32:16Speaker 3: This cow is from nineteen sixty three.
- 32:20Speaker 4: The spine was the most absolutely unnecessary part of this thing.
- 32:23Speaker 4: It's so gross. It reminds me of for whatever reason,
- 32:27Speaker 4: the alien in the movie Alien. There's a real sci
- 32:31Speaker 4: fi element to this disgusting spine.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Yes, and to me that feels of the seventies or
- 32:37Speaker 3: the eighties then. And I also love that she kind
- 32:39Speaker 3: of has cute bangs, which is now but is also retro.
- 32:42Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 32:44Speaker 4: I guess the muted colors put it in a timeless
- 32:48Speaker 4: category that I couldn't really say when or where this came.
- 32:52Speaker 3: From, because now it's all like trendy to make stuff
- 32:54Speaker 3: look old. This does look old, perhaps naturally.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Right, my best guess. If I'm antique road showing this
- 33:02Speaker 4: baby ninety three, I think this is I.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Thought you meant dollars at first.
- 33:07Speaker 4: What now, as far as worth goes, this is probably
- 33:12Speaker 4: you're probably gonna look at forty to fifty thousand dollars um.
- 33:17Speaker 4: That's just that's if you put it on auction, you're
- 33:20Speaker 4: going to see some different numbers. So you get some
- 33:23Speaker 4: cow freaks in there and let them go wild.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Okay, let them go cow wild. Okay.
- 33:27Speaker 4: But I think nineteen ninety three makes sense to me
- 33:30Speaker 4: for this object. Yeah, and we'll post some pictures of this,
- 33:33Speaker 4: and the listeners can be wrong because I've already I
- 33:37Speaker 4: think I'm right. I know I'm right. This is nineteen
- 33:40Speaker 4: ninety three. It's worth fifty thousand dollars.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's cream strawberry. By the way, my gas
- 33:46Speaker 3: turner towards.
- 33:47Speaker 4: Me, okay, turning towards you. I can show you the
- 33:49Speaker 4: ice cream cone again.
- 33:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd like to look at it. Oh delicious, And
- 33:54Speaker 3: it's actually like froio.
- 33:56Speaker 4: It's like it's a real soft serve soft serve situation.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Okay, I'm gonna say, like nineteen eighty seven.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Wow. Interesting. Oh yeah, I don't know. Interesting.
- 34:07Speaker 3: It's just giving me nineteen eighty seven.
- 34:09Speaker 4: I guess if we were if we knew if that
- 34:11Speaker 4: was soft serve or froyo, that would realy tipical scout.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Yeah yeah if that if that cone had a tiny
- 34:18Speaker 3: sixteen handles label, I'd be like, okay, this is recent dah.
- 34:22Speaker 3: If thats a tcby, I'm like, okay, nineties, low fives
- 34:26Speaker 3: kind of whatever. I wish it had a label.
- 34:31Speaker 4: It doesn't. It has no label. It was made in China.
- 34:34Speaker 4: We know that much. It has a little sticker at
- 34:36Speaker 4: the bottom.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Uh.
- 34:38Speaker 4: Now, let me ask you. This is something that's been
- 34:40Speaker 4: on my mind for the last few years sixteen handles?
- 34:44Speaker 4: Is that a pun on sixteen candles?
- 34:47Speaker 3: So Briga, I don't know if you know this about me.
- 34:48Speaker 3: I used to be a competitive punter, and that is true.
- 34:51Speaker 4: I did not know this.
- 34:52Speaker 3: So stuff like this kind of bugs me because you
- 34:58Speaker 3: can't just say a word that sounds like a word
- 35:03Speaker 3: and be like, well, that's a pun.
- 35:04Speaker 4: No.
- 35:05Speaker 3: I can't be like, this is a water throttle. That's
- 35:08Speaker 3: not a pun, that's just rhyme.
- 35:12Speaker 4: That's crazy, right, I mean, you've gotta have some logic there. Yes, Now,
- 35:17Speaker 4: actually I would argue for like a box or bottle
- 35:19Speaker 4: of water, calling it a water throttle kind of is
- 35:22Speaker 4: a decent pond because you throttle the water.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Okay, that actually rocked sixteen handles competing You might need
- 35:29Speaker 3: to compete in sixteen handles. I think the idea is
- 35:32Speaker 3: it's a playoff sixteen camp okay, because they have handles
- 35:35Speaker 3: where you can self serve.
- 35:37Speaker 4: Right, But.
- 35:41Speaker 3: The movie or a birthday cake doesn't have any tie
- 35:46Speaker 3: in to the ice cream, so you.
- 35:51Speaker 4: I don't know in the movie, does anyone eat a
- 35:54Speaker 4: soft serve or frozen yogurt?
- 35:55Speaker 3: I think famously no, Okay, they think a famously ice
- 36:00Speaker 3: free movie.
- 36:01Speaker 4: So then why because this is the sort of thing
- 36:05Speaker 4: where you're like you kind of have to get there
- 36:07Speaker 4: for yourself, where you're like, I like, I guess that's
- 36:10Speaker 4: why this is called sixteen handles.
- 36:13Speaker 3: The only way they can get away with this is
- 36:16Speaker 3: if part of their thing, like like basking Robbins whole thing,
- 36:20Speaker 3: for whatever reason it is having thirty one flavors. If
- 36:24Speaker 3: they have sixteen flavors at all times, which if they do,
- 36:27Speaker 3: don't tell me. If they have sixteen flavors at all times,
- 36:32Speaker 3: I can kind of get behind it, like, okay, sixteen handles, Okay,
- 36:37Speaker 3: we're still not relating to the movie at all, but
- 36:39Speaker 3: at least there's like an inherent reason the number sixteen
- 36:42Speaker 3: is there, right, and that you're doing a playoff of
- 36:45Speaker 3: the second word if they have. I've been to some
- 36:49Speaker 3: sixteen handles. I'm seeing like six flavors sometimes.
- 36:54Speaker 4: Of course, there's no way they've always got sixteen, And
- 36:57Speaker 4: you're really limiting yourself. What if you think of a
- 37:00Speaker 4: seventeenth flavor? You morons?
- 37:02Speaker 3: You crack the code overnight, you wake up in a
- 37:05Speaker 3: fright three am, and you go.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Pineapple, pineapple?
- 37:11Speaker 5: Frick?
- 37:12Speaker 3: Where do you have et vanilla.
- 37:15Speaker 4: We have the there's always more than one vanilla.
- 37:17Speaker 3: By the way, the French vanilla that he should go
- 37:20Speaker 3: in every country fora except America.
- 37:24Speaker 4: The most vanilla country of all. Okay, So but my
- 37:30Speaker 4: argument here is, Okay, let's say it's sixteen handles. Yeah,
- 37:34Speaker 4: they have sixteen handles in there. The pun does not
- 37:37Speaker 4: work no matter what, because it has no tie into
- 37:41Speaker 4: any concept in the universe. So then let's assume they're
- 37:45Speaker 4: innocently just calling it sixteen handles because they had sixteen
- 37:49Speaker 4: handles no other reason. Then it's just irresponsible business naming
- 37:52Speaker 4: because it does sound like a pun.
- 37:54Speaker 3: You have to google.
- 37:56Speaker 4: It makes no sense to me whatsoever.
- 37:58Speaker 3: It's it's alarming.
- 38:01Speaker 4: Alarming at best yea at best, devastating at worst at best.
- 38:08Speaker 4: Yes everything at.
- 38:11Speaker 3: Yes, it's it's pretty troubling that puns people are trying
- 38:15Speaker 3: to make.
- 38:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like there's a few other businesses like
- 38:17Speaker 4: that where I'm like, this is a stretch and I yes,
- 38:22Speaker 4: just what are you doing?
- 38:24Speaker 2: Yes?
- 38:25Speaker 3: Yeah, there was a sandwich spot I really liked in
- 38:28Speaker 3: New York called tie Me Up. Oh Ai.
- 38:35Speaker 4: Ti Food. Okay, I will say for Thai restaurants, Thai
- 38:39Speaker 4: restaurants can get very irresponsible.
- 38:41Speaker 3: There's a lot of stuff happening with that word. And
- 38:45Speaker 3: I didn't get it at first because I wasn't a
- 38:48Speaker 3: competitive bunter yet. But I went to time me up.
- 38:50Speaker 3: And I remember the first time I told someone, Oh
- 38:52Speaker 3: my god, I had this great sandwich of time. I like, sorry,
- 38:54Speaker 3: what the hell's the restaurant new? And I think because
- 38:57Speaker 3: they thought I meant t I E And I was like, oh,
- 38:58Speaker 3: I guess it is interesting because tie me up is
- 39:02Speaker 3: sort of either a very like sexual request and a
- 39:07Speaker 3: sort of spooky one, and it's interesting to want to
- 39:14Speaker 3: kind of portmanteau your way into that.
- 39:18Speaker 4: It's like calling a restaurant throw me in the trunk, something.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Like that bury me out back and it's a berry
- 39:25Speaker 3: There was like blueberries and raspberries.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Shallow grape. No, there are tie me up though. I
- 39:36Speaker 4: can almost start to argue for because you do want
- 39:38Speaker 4: to be tied up with typhoon.
- 39:40Speaker 3: You know, there's a whimsy to it that I think
- 39:43Speaker 3: immediately didn't make me question it until I said it
- 39:45Speaker 3: out loud.
- 39:46Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, there's one that when I drive through Glendale
- 39:49Speaker 4: or Burbank, it's a Thai restaurant. I wish I could
- 39:51Speaker 4: remember what the pun is because it does simply does
- 39:54Speaker 4: not work, and I want to go in there and
- 39:56Speaker 4: be like, I'm happy to consult on this. I might
- 39:58Speaker 4: even start to kicks to get a new sign out
- 40:01Speaker 4: for because what you're doing is hurting you.
- 40:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:06Speaker 4: I was actually just thinking about Thai food recently. Why
- 40:09Speaker 4: don't we have more fast casual thie?
- 40:11Speaker 3: Okay, here's here's we all need to be eating more
- 40:16Speaker 3: Thai food. It's so good, it's so unbelievable. My favorite
- 40:20Speaker 3: foods on Earth are like Taiwanese, Indian, and Thai. We
- 40:25Speaker 3: all need to be eating more of us food. Absolutely,
- 40:27Speaker 3: that we have more of these restaurants and that they
- 40:29Speaker 3: can all be good and they can all be fast casual.
- 40:32Speaker 3: To Michelin, this is your call to action. Eat more
- 40:35Speaker 3: of these three foods that I could be happy.
- 40:37Speaker 4: I do feel like Thaie and Indian are the two
- 40:40Speaker 4: foods where I have to be ready for a restaurant experience.
- 40:43Speaker 4: There's not fast casual options that I want for a
- 40:46Speaker 4: quick meal.
- 40:47Speaker 3: There's a place called Pulsi Kitchen in downtown LA that
- 40:51Speaker 3: is fast casual Indian.
- 40:52Speaker 4: Okay, not bad, not bad, which is basically what you
- 40:56Speaker 4: want for.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Exactly, which is totally fine. If you're like downtown and
- 40:59Speaker 3: want a quick lunch, you'll be totally happy.
- 41:01Speaker 4: And I feel like, at least within Los Angeles Taiwanese
- 41:04Speaker 4: we've got Joy and and it's not it's not that
- 41:08Speaker 4: casual you're getting on the reservation unless you're going to
- 41:12Speaker 4: the gallery, you're going to the mall. But for if
- 41:15Speaker 4: you want to go to Pine and Crane or Joy,
- 41:18Speaker 4: kind of the ultimate fast casual experience. And I love
- 41:20Speaker 4: it so good. But Thai food, everything about it to
- 41:25Speaker 4: me screams, this could be you can the curry is
- 41:30Speaker 4: going to be simmering no matter what. It's ready to go.
- 41:34Speaker 3: This podcast is about ty food, right.
- 41:37Speaker 4: I wouldn't mind. I used to work at a tai restaurant. Really, yes,
- 41:40Speaker 4: I worked at Simply Tie in Sandy, Utah. They used
- 41:42Speaker 4: uh they recently switched ownership, so I can't speak to
- 41:45Speaker 4: the quality anymore. But it used to be very good,
- 41:48Speaker 4: and I ate. I mean I think back now on
- 41:51Speaker 4: the like truly like gallons of curry I would eat.
- 41:56Speaker 4: I don't know why the work my body was putting in,
- 41:59Speaker 4: UNBELI it's incredible superhuman. I would truly like thirty ounces
- 42:05Speaker 4: of yellow curry and rice I'm eating for one meal.
- 42:08Speaker 3: I think that's awesome. I the best typehood I've ever had,
- 42:13Speaker 3: because this is a typepood podcast was I think, yes,
- 42:16Speaker 3: I believe it's called it's called like Lotus of Siam
- 42:20Speaker 3: in Las Vegas, Okay, and I knowally nothing really.
- 42:24Speaker 4: Oh it's so good. Believe I'm not a Las Vegas person,
- 42:27Speaker 4: but I would go there for that typhoon.
- 42:29Speaker 3: I would absolutely go there. I am not tied. I
- 42:31Speaker 3: am also clinically stupid, but this food was so.
- 42:37Speaker 4: It is fantastic and super affordable, so good, so affordable.
- 42:41Speaker 4: Everything about it just now I feel like I have
- 42:44Speaker 4: to go to Las Vegas, so I don't like to
- 42:46Speaker 4: hear that.
- 42:47Speaker 3: And there's a place called I think it's Chef Kenny's
- 42:49Speaker 3: Vegetarian dim Sum. I loved it.
- 42:53Speaker 4: Maybe I just like go to eat, avoid the strip
- 42:55Speaker 4: and eat at these.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Eat and like kind of you can do some Formula
- 42:59Speaker 3: one racing or whatever.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Maybe maybe Las Vegas has some fast casual tie that
- 43:07Speaker 4: I'm not familiar with.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Las Vegas reach outa Las Vegas hive active in.
- 43:14Speaker 4: Oka.
- 43:15Speaker 3: Are you gonna I'm gonna get in here.
- 43:17Speaker 4: I'm get in here. Oh I should have guessed about
- 43:22Speaker 4: this far out of the bag. I knew that I
- 43:24Speaker 4: was holding. It's the Eiffel Tower, speaking of Las Vegas. Yes,
- 43:29Speaker 4: like kind of the original home of the Eiffel Tower. Yes, wow,
- 43:33Speaker 4: I have two gorgeous little decorations.
- 43:35Speaker 3: And again the cow is min the cow is yours, which.
- 43:37Speaker 4: I'm not thrilled to hear. Yeah, yeah, but ultimately you
- 43:41Speaker 4: need to take this home and put it on your
- 43:42Speaker 4: mantle exactly, or put it uh in the kitchen next
- 43:45Speaker 4: to your cookie jar, something like this. I meanwhile, have
- 43:49Speaker 4: something that could double as a weapon, easily blind someone.
- 43:52Speaker 3: So I thought you could use a little class in here.
- 43:59Speaker 3: Just give in to a Nam kennesseeing.
- 44:04Speaker 4: Again, the windows are broken.
- 44:06Speaker 3: It's just it's pretty speaky. And what is more classy
- 44:10Speaker 3: than the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas?
- 44:14Speaker 4: We love? What is that? Is it the Parisian or
- 44:17Speaker 4: is it the Paris?
- 44:20Speaker 3: It simply couldn't be called the Paris, right, the Paris
- 44:25Speaker 3: Las Vegas. It is Paris, Las Vegas, Paris, Las Vegas,
- 44:31Speaker 3: Las Vegas.
- 44:33Speaker 4: Such a sad thing to hear.
- 44:34Speaker 3: It's so confusing, it's like an AI generated name.
- 44:38Speaker 4: Paris Las Vegas. Yeah, I have never heard that. I've
- 44:41Speaker 4: been to this place, yeah multiple times. Yeah, never thought, oh,
- 44:46Speaker 4: I'm in the Paris Las Vegas.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:49Speaker 4: I thought it was a little classier than that. Now
- 44:51Speaker 4: I'm thinking worse of it. Okay, Well, this casino is
- 44:54Speaker 4: not as classy as I thought it would be. Yeah,
- 44:59Speaker 4: have you been to either Paris Las Vegas or Paris, France.
- 45:02Speaker 3: I've been to Paris, France, Okay, and I was little.
- 45:08Speaker 3: It was a family trip and it was very pretty.
- 45:12Speaker 3: I maybe didn't understand the art because I was eleven,
- 45:15Speaker 3: but it was very pretty. I think French food, except
- 45:20Speaker 3: for the desserts that sucks.
- 45:26Speaker 4: It's a hard thing for me to get on board
- 45:27Speaker 4: with because it is all and French people reach out.
- 45:30Speaker 4: I do like a well made French sandwich and I
- 45:33Speaker 4: love a cheese, but like, I can't really conceive of
- 45:36Speaker 4: like a French meal. I would really haven't.
- 45:38Speaker 3: They haven't made them. They haven't cracked that recipe to
- 45:42Speaker 3: make a meal.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Actually, French food famously everyone hates and it's trash.
- 45:46Speaker 3: Listen, unless you consider bread and cheese and meal, which
- 45:50Speaker 3: if you're European maybe.
- 45:51Speaker 1: You do.
- 45:53Speaker 3: French don't have I don't like I'm also vegetarians. I
- 45:57Speaker 3: got a huge bias buttered beef, plain carrots or whatever.
- 46:03Speaker 4: It's a very just a butter forward food and butter rocks.
- 46:07Speaker 4: But eventually it's like I want a little spice here
- 46:10Speaker 4: or something. Let's let's throw some sort of literally any spice,
- 46:16Speaker 4: and like.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Can I have a little fiber? Can I have something else?
- 46:23Speaker 3: Something to get the bm's movement. I don't want buttered.
- 46:27Speaker 4: Beef, buttered cheese.
- 46:30Speaker 3: Oh my god, it constipated all around in France.
- 46:35Speaker 4: This is not making me question when I was in Paris.
- 46:38Speaker 4: Not to brag as an adult, not to brag, I
- 46:42Speaker 4: don't remember having any bad food experiences, but I yeah,
- 46:47Speaker 4: I don't remember having any that like really blew my
- 46:49Speaker 4: mind either.
- 46:51Speaker 3: Listen, you said it. It sucks. The food is gross, Uh,
- 46:57Speaker 3: French technique whatever? Who cares? Except for patisserie pat.
- 47:00Speaker 4: Your child drive off a cliff?
- 47:02Speaker 2: Nah?
- 47:02Speaker 3: Who cares? Okay? Literally who cares? There? There? You will
- 47:07Speaker 3: go to a front restaurant and they will charge you
- 47:09Speaker 3: eighty five dollars for a bagap really technical, incredible.
- 47:13Speaker 5: Wow.
- 47:14Speaker 3: You will go to a Chinese restaurant where someone is
- 47:16Speaker 3: pulling noodles in front of you, making chili oil in
- 47:19Speaker 3: front of you, and they're like two dollars and You're like, wow,
- 47:23Speaker 3: this is unbelievable. The christ disparity is crazy.
- 47:27Speaker 4: It's wild. I mean, especially within the United States. If
- 47:30Speaker 4: you're going to a French restaurant, my night is ruined.
- 47:32Speaker 4: I know, my night is ruined because it's going to
- 47:34Speaker 4: be so expensive and it is going to be buttered chicken,
- 47:38Speaker 4: which again great, it's a very simple thing, but I
- 47:41Speaker 4: want a little bit more flair. I need a little
- 47:43Speaker 4: bit and not just in the making of but in
- 47:46Speaker 4: the tasting of. Yes. Yes, French people are so mad
- 47:51Speaker 4: right now, they're so proud.
- 47:51Speaker 3: Of they're lip pissed.
- 47:55Speaker 4: And French people again reach out by The one thing
- 48:00Speaker 4: I can remember about the Eiffel Tower, which was absolutely
- 48:04Speaker 4: the opposite of class. When I was there, was right
- 48:07Speaker 4: beside it an absolute rat farm. The amount of rats
- 48:11Speaker 4: I saw in the square footage, I mean it was
- 48:14Speaker 4: the absolute Manhattan Tokyo of rats. They were on top
- 48:19Speaker 4: of each other. Wow.
- 48:21Speaker 3: See, Okay, I find this interesting for many reasons. One
- 48:24Speaker 3: I can't remember is the Eiffel Tower. One of those
- 48:27Speaker 3: tourist attractions. That's actually is it like in a nice
- 48:30Speaker 3: area or is it in a kind of like more
- 48:32Speaker 3: dirty area or.
- 48:33Speaker 4: Something good question. Paris is hard to tell me what
- 48:36Speaker 4: I do. As a dumb American, I'm like, oh, this
- 48:38Speaker 4: is all so outstanding and beautiful. Yeah, at the time
- 48:42Speaker 4: it was night, so maybe some of the dinginess was gone.
- 48:46Speaker 4: But what I remember is the Eiffel Tower. Yeah, the
- 48:50Speaker 4: river somewhere nearby, I think at a crepe place that
- 48:54Speaker 4: was putting too much nutella on things. I'm not a
- 48:56Speaker 4: nutella person.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Okay, rider that psycho. There's no such thing as a hotel.
- 49:00Speaker 3: But continue. The French only have deserve to get into this. Yeah,
- 49:03Speaker 3: I'm happy to get you.
- 49:05Speaker 4: And then truly, I would estimate four to five thousand rats.
- 49:09Speaker 3: So yeah, that's so fascinating because like, okay, another hierarchy thing.
- 49:12Speaker 3: We always associate Paris with sophistication and blah blah blah blahs,
- 49:15Speaker 3: like every major city has rats, so shut off, Paris
- 49:17Speaker 3: has rats. The third thing that is interesting is.
- 49:20Speaker 4: Ratit doing right French? Okay, he's making the disgusting ratitude
- 49:27Speaker 4: food that No, it looks totally unappealing.
- 49:29Speaker 3: What do you and what do you mean? What do
- 49:32Speaker 3: you mean? Which food?
- 49:33Speaker 4: Do you mean that he's making the literal ratitudey dish?
- 49:36Speaker 4: Which is what squash?
- 49:37Speaker 3: Okay?
- 49:38Speaker 4: Are you tomato sauce?
- 49:39Speaker 3: There's something messed up about me. I think squash sucks.
- 49:43Speaker 3: I'm a vegetarian, so I have a right to all
- 49:45Speaker 3: sail this because I've been eating a lot of weird
- 49:47Speaker 3: vegetarian food that people give to me where you're on
- 49:49Speaker 3: set and they're like, you're a vegetarian. There's steamed zucchini
- 49:53Speaker 3: and squash in this tray, and you're like.
- 49:55Speaker 4: We dropped by the hospital on our way here and
- 49:58Speaker 4: picked you something up, and.
- 49:58Speaker 3: Picked up all the sick vegetables from their death beds.
- 50:02Speaker 3: And I think that those vegetables kind of suck. They
- 50:06Speaker 3: don't taste like anything unless you deeply think about the seasoning,
- 50:10Speaker 3: which you are allowed to do.
- 50:11Speaker 4: But people just don't or put them in a soup
- 50:13Speaker 4: or put.
- 50:14Speaker 3: Them in something. And I think zucchini bread rocks. I
- 50:17Speaker 3: think fried zucchini rocks. But just like plain zucchini as
- 50:19Speaker 3: it is often served is a NaSTA and rattaitudi is
- 50:24Speaker 3: the only form that I really like. Those vegetables, and
- 50:26Speaker 3: because the only when I do it, because I make
- 50:29Speaker 3: so much sauce and I put like eight hundred pounds
- 50:31Speaker 3: of garlic in it.
- 50:32Speaker 4: Oh okay, this is making more sense.
- 50:34Speaker 3: And I make that shit seasoned. It tastes good. Come over,
- 50:38Speaker 3: I make it remy style, rat style.
- 50:40Speaker 4: Is it beautiful? Yeah? I've never had it, and I've
- 50:44Speaker 4: avoided it because of these reasons. Yes, the squash of it.
- 50:47Speaker 3: No, Richard, I will make you rat style ratitude where
- 50:51Speaker 3: it is good and it makes you think of a
- 50:53Speaker 3: childhood memory and you start crying.
- 50:55Speaker 4: In my house made by the delicate hands of a rat,
- 50:57Speaker 4: ye little hands.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Or I'll go into your house again while you're not
- 51:01Speaker 3: there and I'll make it for you underneath my chef's hat.
- 51:06Speaker 4: Uh, how did we get to you've rat it to it?
- 51:10Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 51:10Speaker 4: I really like the movie rated to it. I love that,
- 51:13Speaker 4: you know, the like ironic like re embracement of it.
- 51:15Speaker 4: During COVID, I was like, I could do without.
- 51:18Speaker 3: We need to stop putting irony on everything. Everyone can
- 51:21Speaker 3: just be a little more sincere and have some just.
- 51:23Speaker 4: Be like, oh, it was a great movie about a
- 51:25Speaker 4: rat making food. Yeah, let's move on. Yeah, I don't
- 51:28Speaker 4: need everything that you remember from when you were nine
- 51:32Speaker 4: suddenly becoming a punchline. No, thank you, use a little
- 51:36Speaker 4: bit more thought comes off and my apologies just basically
- 51:42Speaker 4: all of TikTok no.
- 51:44Speaker 3: I mean, hey, just for any young common readers, A
- 51:47Speaker 3: reference is not a joke quoting a TV shows Did you.
- 51:50Speaker 4: Live through the Space Jam?
- 51:52Speaker 3: Hell? I, it's tough because I genuinely loved that movie
- 51:56Speaker 3: as a kid. It is sort of inscrutable as an adult.
- 52:00Speaker 3: But I used to watch that in Stoutfire like every
- 52:02Speaker 3: day after school because there's like two the only v
- 52:05Speaker 3: just as we had. But yes, people do love to
- 52:07Speaker 3: be like posting a picture and being like remember and
- 52:10Speaker 3: then nothing more. When they tried to make Lola mid
- 52:15Speaker 3: or whatever that that.
- 52:18Speaker 4: Journey was, we should have just left well enough alone.
- 52:24Speaker 4: But it was. Yeah, there was that period of time
- 52:27Speaker 4: for probably twenty eleven to twenty fifteen when you knew
- 52:35Speaker 4: someone wasn't funny when by how much Space Jam referencing
- 52:39Speaker 4: they were doing.
- 52:39Speaker 3: Now, can I out myself a little?
- 52:43Speaker 4: I hope this is some devis Okay.
- 52:44Speaker 3: It's humiliating for me, but also kind of cool of me.
- 52:47Speaker 3: So in two thousand and seven, I got Tumblr for
- 52:49Speaker 3: the first time.
- 52:50Speaker 4: Okay, classic time.
- 52:51Speaker 3: Classic time to get a Tumblr, and I got space
- 52:54Speaker 3: jam dot tumblr dot com. I was just like, oh,
- 52:56Speaker 3: I genuinely think this movie is really fun and the
- 52:58Speaker 3: amount of people that massive to me, it was like,
- 53:00Speaker 3: can iver handle? Can I ever handle climb handle? I
- 53:03Speaker 3: was like, wa, cyber squatter, Yes, uh, it was really
- 53:09Speaker 3: really crazy, and so I I kind of witnessed, sort
- 53:12Speaker 3: of in a really deep way, the space gam nostalgia
- 53:15Speaker 3: like coming up and then I bet the request stopped coming.
- 53:22Speaker 3: They always stop.
- 53:25Speaker 4: That makes sense. Well, you were really you were an
- 53:27Speaker 4: early investor in this nostalgia trap.
- 53:31Speaker 3: I thought before every I remembered stuff before everybody else did.
- 53:37Speaker 4: Good for you, yea, so impressive. Yeah, what other things
- 53:40Speaker 4: are you remembering?
- 53:42Speaker 3: And saying? Beanie babies? I'm remembering furbies?
- 53:47Speaker 4: Can you believe that things used to be crazy?
- 53:49Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 53:49Speaker 4: Can you?
- 53:50Speaker 3: Oh my god? Before Diddy even we didn't have to
- 53:55Speaker 3: catch crazy Remember ferbies? Did you did you ever see
- 54:00Speaker 3: long furbies?
- 54:02Speaker 4: What?
- 54:05Speaker 3: You simply have to google long Ferbie?
- 54:08Speaker 4: I'm doing it right now.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Are we allowed to acknowledge you have a computer in
- 54:11Speaker 3: front of you.
- 54:12Speaker 4: We'll edit that out entirely people. The listener has never
- 54:15Speaker 4: thought I had a computer, and that would really shatter
- 54:17Speaker 4: their reality.
- 54:18Speaker 3: So I'm going to just tell you you use your
- 54:20Speaker 3: Google glass. He has Google glass.
- 54:22Speaker 4: I'm kind of staring at the table, staring straight. I'm
- 54:27Speaker 4: looking at the ceiling. Okay, I've got my eyes on long,
- 54:31Speaker 4: long and longer Ferbie. Yes, is this was this a
- 54:35Speaker 4: Furby sanctioned product? I mean you can take a peek here.
- 54:38Speaker 3: Yeah, So this isn't sanctioned by anybody, to be honest.
- 54:42Speaker 3: So these are people in their homes, beautiful minded people
- 54:46Speaker 3: that are I love these people that are taking Ferbies
- 54:50Speaker 3: and repurposing them into weird versions of Ferbies. So it'll
- 54:53Speaker 3: be like a Ferbie with big muscular arms and a
- 54:56Speaker 3: big snake body that is like the size of a
- 54:59Speaker 3: car for some reas, or like a Ferby with iguana
- 55:02Speaker 3: legs that has like ten faces or something.
- 55:06Speaker 4: Ooh, there's one that's almost like earthworm esque. It's very smooth.
- 55:10Speaker 4: I'm taking a picture of this one.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Smooth is a big, big tenet of smooth.
- 55:14Speaker 4: Intestines. That's intestines.
- 55:17Speaker 3: Yes, I've seen her.
- 55:18Speaker 4: That's a tapeworm.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Tapeworm Ferby we all have one. So these people are
- 55:22Speaker 3: just like creative crafts people. And sometimes they talk like
- 55:27Speaker 3: they have the functionality of a Ferby. It's so funny today.
- 55:30Speaker 4: Wow, these are and there are so many of them.
- 55:32Speaker 4: I love a good, just community coming together online. I
- 55:37Speaker 4: wonder what patient zero was for long Kirby.
- 55:40Speaker 3: Oh I wish there was a long Kirby.
- 55:42Speaker 4: Oh my god, no new thing. Damn, people are drawing
- 55:44Speaker 4: long Kirby. I should draw a long If I had
- 55:46Speaker 4: paper right now, I'd be drawing long Kirby.
- 55:48Speaker 3: Can I make another confession? Yes, I wrote a sketch
- 55:51Speaker 3: about a sexy Kirby. So I think if you google
- 55:54Speaker 3: sexy Kirby you will find me.
- 55:56Speaker 4: I'm googling it now. I'm turning off. Say search sexy.
- 56:02Speaker 3: And again on his Google blas.
- 56:03Speaker 4: Now searching sexy Ferby.
- 56:06Speaker 3: Pritcher, you're getting all your words, jimble jamble.
- 56:10Speaker 4: Well, now I have to look at sexy Ferby. And
- 56:11Speaker 4: because of course.
- 56:12Speaker 3: They're sexy first there is Yes, those are.
- 56:15Speaker 4: Hot Ferby in fish and fish net tights.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Oh my god. I love what people are doing with
- 56:20Speaker 3: their skills, like these are good drawings. These are good artists.
- 56:24Speaker 4: These are people who went to art school.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Yeah, possibly engineers for some of the ferbies that actually work.
- 56:29Speaker 4: Okay, I'm now looking at Sexy Kirby. Oh you're number
- 56:33Speaker 4: one in the search yourself. There you are the video. Okay,
- 56:38Speaker 4: that's a little something for me to watch after. That's
- 56:40Speaker 4: a little treat. Wow, I'm so excited. And then I've
- 56:42Speaker 4: got look at the gallery of photos this Sexy Kirby is.
- 56:45Speaker 4: Now I feel like this we're bordering on sexual harassment.
- 56:48Speaker 4: This is a workplace.
- 56:49Speaker 3: This is a workplace. But I'm like, I literally was like,
- 56:52Speaker 3: did they steal my design?
- 56:54Speaker 4: Is that part of yourself?
- 56:54Speaker 2: Well?
- 56:55Speaker 3: I had to pay an artist to create three D
- 56:57Speaker 3: Sexy Kirby arts, so I have emails with them, but
- 56:59Speaker 3: are like can can you show the nipples or whatever?
- 57:01Speaker 3: Like it's so crazy, but I love this community. But
- 57:05Speaker 3: the reason I wrote that scotch just because I think
- 57:06Speaker 3: it's so funny, because that takes a real three D
- 57:08Speaker 3: artist to make. They cost to do this with that skill.
- 57:11Speaker 4: Yeah, they had to learn something. Yeah, like take years
- 57:14Speaker 4: of like getting into these programs, yes, and then having
- 57:18Speaker 4: a genuine talent to start with. Yes, And now meanwhile
- 57:21Speaker 4: suddenly they have like this polygonal Kirby with giant breast.
- 57:25Speaker 3: Yes, it's like if you like learned how to become
- 57:28Speaker 3: like a mechanical engineer and you could like build a
- 57:30Speaker 3: full German car, and you decide to make like a
- 57:33Speaker 3: car that focks a robot or something that's like, I don't.
- 57:36Speaker 4: Know, Wow, incredible. I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't shut you down.
- 57:43Speaker 4: They might be coming for you.
- 57:44Speaker 3: He's down down. I don't make any money off of it.
- 57:49Speaker 3: I lost money doing it. I paid somebody.
- 57:54Speaker 4: Okay, Well, now that we've discussed these two things, I
- 57:56Speaker 4: feel like we need to get a sexy long Kirby,
- 58:00Speaker 4: a long Kirby, a sexy long Ferby, and potentially a
- 58:05Speaker 4: Ferbie Kirby that feels like that's let's try to see
- 58:10Speaker 4: if I'm googling Galore today. Ferbie Kirby, Ferbie Kirby, of
- 58:14Speaker 4: course it exists.
- 58:15Speaker 3: And then for miss Peaky Freby Kooby.
- 58:19Speaker 4: You know, they're less options as far as Ferbie Kirby goes,
- 58:23Speaker 4: but there's at least one on Etsy.
- 58:25Speaker 3: And I love the people of Etsy, and they're doing
- 58:28Speaker 3: good work forging this stuff to be tactile, taking these
- 58:32Speaker 3: drugs and making them a weird item I can hold.
- 58:35Speaker 4: I wonder what Kirby has anybody ever kind of nailed
- 58:38Speaker 4: down what Kirby is.
- 58:41Speaker 3: In my estimation, No.
- 58:44Speaker 4: And Kirby's gender neutral as far as I know, I
- 58:47Speaker 4: think so, although we just look. I think Kirby's whatever
- 58:51Speaker 4: you want Kirby to be.
- 58:53Speaker 3: I think that's nice because but it's it begs the
- 58:56Speaker 3: question what does Kirby want to be?
- 58:57Speaker 4: And Kirby, I feel like, doesn't know because Kirby's always
- 59:01Speaker 4: sucking up different things and trying to be different objects.
- 59:04Speaker 3: That's heartbreaking.
- 59:05Speaker 4: It's hard to hear.
- 59:06Speaker 3: It's really hard to hear.
- 59:08Speaker 4: It has no idea who it is.
- 59:11Speaker 3: Oh oh, there could be like a teen like puberty movie, like, yeah,
- 59:15Speaker 3: Kirby's like sucking up the cheerleader, sucking up the ted
- 59:18Speaker 3: quarterback to be like I want to be cool. And
- 59:21Speaker 3: then it's like, no, this is our pitch, this is
- 59:22Speaker 3: our pit, and it's like, Kirby, you need to suck
- 59:25Speaker 3: up yourself.
- 59:27Speaker 4: The end of the movie, Kirby sucks itself up and
- 59:31Speaker 4: destroys reality.
- 59:33Speaker 3: Okay, wait, that's actually a good movie idea. Hold on, wait,
- 59:37Speaker 3: we're two professional writers. That's actually a good movie.
- 59:39Speaker 4: Idea take away from this movie is if you embrace yourself,
- 59:41Speaker 4: the universe ends. Yeah, it's nothing but bad. Yes, so
- 59:47Speaker 4: try to be other people. Try to try the others. Yes, wow,
- 59:52Speaker 4: wow to get to sexy Ferbye Kirby Long Kirby, Long Furby.
- 59:56Speaker 4: Did I look up long Kirby. No, that's that's the
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: last one. And of course we've got long Curby as
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: long as you want look at that.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, I was worried when I saw them. One
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: with legs, I'm like, that's not long. But the first
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: one satisfies the brief.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: Yes, we're starting to get into some uncomfortable territory with
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: the shape. And then the one with legs is really
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: I mean it's got great legs.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: I can't lie. Yeah, obviously it does great legs. I'm
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: not crazy.
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: I'm I'm not gonna lie about that. Those legs and
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: some stilettos and Kirby's on.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: I'm sure of those legs, you know what I mean?
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: Wow, the internet has got it all. I think there's
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: Kirby with some disgusting long legs. Okay, I'm gonna also
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: shoot this one. Yeah, we've gone too far with this
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: Kirby that Okay, we're body shaming Kirby.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: That one's too much for a few reasons, because there's
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: too many unusual things, like if Kirby remained the shape
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: that they're supposed to be, and then you just had
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: these ultravascular like drank a bunch of cranberry juice and
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: no water, did a bunch of push ups before this
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: picture was taken. Sure, but like the legs are cheo vascular.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: Kirby has been elongated into like a like a cone shape, yes,
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: And then it's what's going on with its feet.
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: It's got two little red shoes which it obviously can't tie.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: It arms aren't long enough to reach. So this Kirby
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: is just its life as hell. It went too far
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: with the HGH. Yeah, human growth hormone, although we don't
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: know if that would affect a Kirby.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: So we don't. No one's tested it.
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: I'm sure somebody has created some art to do, you know.
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: Or is doing it right now. Kirby taking HGH.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: Getting shot up by that. What's the penguin friend or
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: the little king penguin that's in Kirby?
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: Oh king dd?
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: Like what a poll that was for me?
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: That's a little Maria guy.
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: That's no, that's uh, I'm gonna Kirby has I think
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: a friend. Oh it's named King d d D Oh okay,
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: d D D D d D and it looks like this.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Yeah yeah yeah, oh yeah yeah so cute.
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: But that's supplying steroids to Kirby.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: I think I've seen King D D D like bikini
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: artwork before.
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: Well, now I'm looking it up.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: Let's see here, totally messing up your search. Okay, if
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: you say I'm the first result, I'm going to pass away.
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: I like, I almost feel like it would be irresponsible
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: to turn the computer towards you.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: Oh no, wait is it? Is it the fake video
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: game people made of King D D D like selling
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: bikinis on an island or something that?
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: No, the first one of the first we'll have to
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: get back to whatever you're just describing. But the first
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: image search result is his head on a so human
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: woman's body of photo and she's like slowly removing her
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: bikini top. For what reason? For who?
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Photoshop can be purchased by anybody, That's what we have
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: to remember. Anyone can use the illustrator.
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: Okay, now I found here's that Maybe this is what
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: you were referencing though.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: This is Yeah, there's some like fake prototype video games.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: I think got taken down my Nintendo. That's like King
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: Ddd's excelling skimpy bikinis on the Island of whatever.
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: God bless us everybody.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: You guys are doing awesome stuff.
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: It's just incredible work. And King d d D has
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: got There's just so many things going on on the internet.
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: People are putting the effort in, they're showing off their talents. Yes,
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: and we support them.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: Yes, get into Risdie.
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: You can do no wrong in this category. Okay, we've
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: to move away from.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Remember Bridger also, when I said this please needs more clubs,
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: it's because you're looking up smut this podcast.
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: I start with, have you ever been to Paris? I'm
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: looking at like a naked photos but Kirby huge ass.
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: Oh wow, Well is there anything? Is there anything left
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: to say about the Eiffel Tower? Do you know where
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: the Eiffel? Why they built the Eiffel Tower. I feel
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: like we should at least give a fact on this podcast.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Was it like to compete?
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: It was built for the World's Fair. Yeah, and I
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: guess everybody eventually got on board with it sticking around.
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: And then the reason the Ferris wheel was built was
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: in it was kind of a response to the Eiffel Tower.
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: They built the first Ferriss wheel. I think at the
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: Chicago World Fair. That one doesn't have quite a classic
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: of a story. It kind of is now just traveling
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: with different circuses or whatever carnivals.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: It's so interesting to hear when like famous monuments are
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: like a response to something, right, Sadly, no one actually
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: just wanted to make it. They're just like, oh, yeah,
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: I can make a big object.
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: That's uh. I guess that's what you did before the internet,
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: when you had like a you know, adding someone. Instead
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: you would build a beautiful architectural thing. Yeah.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: The fair swells like the original sub tweet or something like, hmmm.
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: It kind of was and it flopped. I mean it
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: we still have them, but.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: Got ratioed bad.
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: Everybody knew that thing was going to be boring. Yes,
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: just kind of swinging there and looking junkie blowing in
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: the wind. Yeah, Okay, Well we got some facts out
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: and that's impressive and that's why people turn into tune
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: into this podcast, Yeah, to learn about iconic architectural structures. Yeah,
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: I think it's time to play a game. Okay, I
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: think I think we're gonna play a game called Gift
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: Master today. We haven't played it in a long time.
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: I needed a number between one and ten. I was
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: gonna say one and three from you. That feels sun two.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: Did I win?
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: Maybe that should be the new rule for the games.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: Pick a game, pick a number between one. Uh No,
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: pick a number between one and ten.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: Three.
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: Okay, I have to do some light calculating to get
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: our game pieces. Okay, So right now you can promote, recommend,
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: do whatever you want.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: Okay. In terms of things I'd like to promote, I
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: have a little newsletters and that's freaking free at buttondown

- 1:07:14Speaker 4: I had to clap. That was just so efficient. I
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: didn't know you had a newsletter.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: I do, and that's simply why I have to promote it.

- 1:07:38Speaker 4: Does that still exist? Funck Jerry?
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: Was the Fat Jewish? Those were the two that like
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: would just steal everybody's stuff and then became very famous. Yes,
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: And I think Fat Jewish ended up in a Charlie
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: XCX video and that was a line. That's when I
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: was like, what time I lived my life incorrectly? Charlie
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: reach out?
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: Yes, what do we have to freaking door?
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: Ready to get this woman's life.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: Charlie XCX video. I feel like everybody is in one.
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: How much coke do I have to do? Come on, Charlie.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: I feel like we'd be on similar wavelengths with Charlie. Oh.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: Yes, that's like one of those loves, like we'd get along.
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: Just just reach.
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: Out I have been banging the Charlie drum for it
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: at least a decade. Charlie reach Out. The Fat Jewish
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: stole a bunch of tweets, and he ended up in
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: one of your videos.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: I haven't stolen anything from you.
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: Yes, come on, I've been nothing but good to you.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: Yeah, donating my Spotify lessons.
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: Come on. I feel like I feel kind of inappropriate
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: saying the Fat Jewish. But that's what his name was. Okay,
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: just so people don't think I'm suddenly.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: Pushing a button under the table. I can somebody get
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: out of here.
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: Oh my god, No, No, that was his name. I'm
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: just gonna know.
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: I actually think it might even be a more offensive
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: name that he has.
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: Do you think that it's offensive that he did it?
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: I think I thought his name was that minus the ish. Oh,
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: but I might be wrong.
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: Well, I'm simply not going to say.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: And I'm simply not going to say it. It's a
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: thing that's offensive for me to say. But if you
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: are a Jewish person, whatever you like.
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: Okay, we're doing it some last googling.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: The last Google we'll do today.
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: Okay, I could be wrong. Okay. His first name is
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: Josh it's at the Fat Jewish.
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: Okay, I'm wrong.
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: So interesting. Oh but then, okay, looks like he wrote
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: a book under the name what we were just not saying.
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: So he's he kind of is in a Kurby situation
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: where he doesn't know where he is or who he is.
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: No sympathy, zero sympathy for this person. Do not reach out?
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: What are we doing? Are we recording a podcast?
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: I think?
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: Where am I? This is how we play Charlie reach Out,
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: Just one final button on that. This is how we
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: play Gift Master. I'm going to three celebrities, and I'm
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: going to name three gifts, three things you can give away,
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: and you're gonna tell me which gift you would give
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: which celebrity and why makes perfect sense, crystal clear? Okay,
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: these are the celebrities. Number one Damon John of Shark
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: tak Okay, creator of Fu Boo. Number two, Reese Witherspoon,
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: book critic. Number three, Mark Zuckerberg, Biggest Loser Alive. There's
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: a you know, a tear.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: At this point.
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: These are the gifts, Okay, And actually I'm gonna dial
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: that back a little bit. This should be a little
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: more neutral. Mark Zuckerberg Nope, he is the biggest loser.
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: There's no neutral thing I can say about this person.
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: These are the thing the things you'll be giving away,
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: a high speed chase, a romantic liaison with their optometrist,
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: Oh my god, and number three clause.
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: Okay, I I'm gonna give claw Us to Damon because
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: I think there could be something cool to do with
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: fashion claws.
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: Oh if you created.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: I think I think Fubu has got clothing down. But
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: what about claws? What about your claw collection?
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: How about a sharp thing extending from your hands?
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: Kind of cool idea. I'm gonna give romantic liaison. Wow, Okay.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: I feel like the stereotypical answer would be to give
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: it to Reese, right. I feel like Reese's doesn't need that.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: That would have so much romance in exactly, it's like
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: eing like a chocolate maker or chocolate bar.
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm gonna do too much charm, too much charm.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: I'm gonna give her a high speed chase. I think
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: she could carry an action movie.
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: Oh. I would love to see her blasting down the
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: five harmis burning rubber.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: Yes, or maybe like in season three of Big Little Eyes.
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: Oh, She's like why that's how the series is headed exactly.
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: Baryl's hot on her tail.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: And she's got the strange fake teeth in.
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: I forgot about the teeth teeth blowing out in the way.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: Yes, very Rish got too many wisdom teeth in there.
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: It's hard to like. It's crazy. And I'm gonna give
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: Mark Zuckerberg the romantic liaison with his aptometrisy. Yes, yes,
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: because in theory this is what happens. Mark is like, Oh,
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: I'm trying to see this beautiful picture, but I'm too
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: distracted by your beauty, and the optomistress is so distracted
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: and accidentally stabs him in the eye and takes both
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: of them out by accident.
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: It's a very Greek tragedy.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: Yeah, it sticks. And the optometrist was his mom.
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: It's a real false circle.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really tragic.
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: Wow, beautifully played, perfectly played. I would say, thank you, Reese,
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: good luck with the chase. Mark. Hopefully your newfound holes
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: in your face will lead you to doing some soul searching.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: And I'm gonna say, because there's plenty of people who
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: do beautiful things and don't have sight that actually on
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: his way out the automotist was distracted and so all
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: their tools were left out, and so Mark trips on
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: it and Pratt falls down some stairs and falls into
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: a hole that leads into the sewer and he's covered
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: with a shit. And then he's with all the sewer
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: rats who are like, he's disgusting. We're eating his food.
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: We were trying to cook with his meat, and it's
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: disgusting if he's like crap, Rmy and Remy's like I
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: know this steaks and they just eat his whole body.
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: And the devoured and it's just kind of that skeleton there, Yeah,
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: vomited skeleton.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: I think kind of the perfect end to the perfect
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: day for Mark Zuckerberg. Okay, only I think we should
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: still play your Gift or a Curse? All right, do
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: you have a suggestion? This is how we play Gift
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: or a Curse? Onalz is gonna name one thing and
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: we're going to each say if it's a gift or
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: a curse and why, and then only will tell us
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: if we're correct, because they hold the truth.
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: All right, Gifter, a curse, movie theater, collectible popcorn buckets,
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: Oh curse?
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: Why I don't that's just crap. In my house. I
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: could have a bowl that does the same thing. I
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: don't need the dune popcorn bucket that looks like a
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: wormhole or whatever. It's taking up too much room for
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: something that I will not eat out of because it's
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: too special. But it's supposed to be eaten out of.
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: I agree curse. First of all, I'm so tired of
- 1:14:35Speaker 4: these things that are built to go viral. Enough is enough.
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: I don't care what it looks like. I don't want
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: to see it on whatever stupid website saying you've got
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: to see this bucket for no karateu or whatever. Second
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: of all, I don't want to eat popcorn out of
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: a plastic object. I want to eat it out of
- 1:14:53Speaker 4: I want to feel that paper on the side, like
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: waxy paper. I don't feel like popcorn is going to
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: taste as good coming out of this disgusting, hard plastic.
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: It makes no sense to me. Yeah, I think it's
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: just a horrible idea. I don't think they should sell them.
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: I think everyone that's associated with that should be banished
- 1:15:11Speaker 4: from You know, they're using their art skills for evil.
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: They should be drawing long pictures of Kirby in sexy
- 1:15:19Speaker 4: costumes and giving them away for free, rather than teaming
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: up with AMC to sell you know, the Reese Witherspoon
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: car Chase bucket.
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: You know its car is such a bad vehicle for popcorn.
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: And I didn't even mean to use vehicle. That's a pun.
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: Also, I'm just not going to buy your popcorn anyway.
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: I don't buy popcorn at the movie theater.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: I have something to say.
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: Oh I don't like popcorn. Oh, I am so happy
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: to hear this. I am not a popcorn eater. I
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: have when people buy it, Like when I'll go to
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: the movies with the move, They'll be like, do you
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: want to have some? There's not even a temptation either.
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: I've never I never I like cattle corn, but even
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: that I'm never gonna buy.
- 1:16:03Speaker 4: No, I like my hand is never like out of
- 1:16:05Speaker 4: control going towards it.
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: It's so dry. Yes, at least crap in my teeth.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: And like I there are just so many other salty snacks.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: I would rather eat.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: A hundred crackers. I will eat before one piece of popcorn.
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: Oh, a club cracker? Are you kidding me?
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: Have you ever had a sociable that's a good cracker?
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: Is that like a literal synonym for like club, Like
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: what's going on? What's a sociable?
- 1:16:30Speaker 4: It was just a very fancy good cracker. I wasn't
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: actually fancy. I feel like Keebler made them. Oh but
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: it had a great name. Yeah, a great snap. Yeah.
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: I would love to eat just like a cookie, like
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: a big fat cookie.
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: Oh, I make a good one, a very good one.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: Wait, give it to me. Stop talking about I can
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: give it to me.
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: Show up at my house when I'm not there.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: I'll take it from your friend Analis.
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: How did we do well?
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: I have to say, I'm just like about to have
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: this release, this big sigh of joy because I have
- 1:17:04Speaker 5: wanted to say the word wrong for so long.
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: God, this is gonna be a big argument.
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: Oh I'm ready. I'm ready because what you call evil Bridger,
- 1:17:15Speaker 5: I call whimsy.
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: Call whimsy. You know what we don't have.
- 1:17:21Speaker 5: We used to have a lot of collectible stuff in
- 1:17:23Speaker 5: the nineties. We don't anymore. This is like the one
- 1:17:25Speaker 5: place where people actually get to exercise that kind of creativity.
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: And also, who who wants to eat out of a
- 1:17:30Speaker 5: bowl at home when you can eat out of a
- 1:17:32Speaker 5: collectible bucket?
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: On Alice you have never been more wrong. Your job
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: is hanging by a thread. Absolutely not, despite you me
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: just saying you're the one with never.
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: It's fine because AMC will welcome me with open arms.
- 1:17:47Speaker 5: They're going to cancel corn for life.
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, because it's disgusting and they're trying to get as.
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: Much as you get out of my hair. Wrong, wrong, wrong, Okay,
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: well we all did perfectly right there. We need to
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: answer a listener question. This is called I said no
- 1:18:06Speaker 4: emails people write into I said no gifts at gmail
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: dot com. Will you help me answer a question I'd
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: love to you. Okay, this is Hello Bridger. Oh, hello
- 1:18:14Speaker 4: Wise Bridger and discerning guests. Okay, we're both on top
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: of the world. It is time to plan my daughter's
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: eleventh birthday party, and I need some original ideal. I
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: need some original ideas from you, lovely people. It is
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: expected to give all it is expected. Oh yeah, I
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: guess I'm sense. It's expected to give all the attendees
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: a party favor to say thanks for coming. In the past,
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: I have given cheap trinkets from party City that are
- 1:18:39Speaker 4: soon thrown away, or I have bought jewelry at Claire's
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: kind of the party city of jewelry. In my opinion,
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: that's an editor's note. Jewelry at Claire's on sale that
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: still somehow totals almost one hundred dollars. I'd like to
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: get them something that they will truly enjoy but won't
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: break the bank. What can I get for a bunch
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: of fifth grade girls who at their last birthday party
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: drew on themselves with red markers and played haunted house
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: in our basement? What am I to do with these
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: wild creatures? Yours sincerely? They did not give a name,
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: and they just said exasperated child wrangler, So we don't
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: even know if this is a Oh I guess you
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: said daughter. I was going to say, is this you know,
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: the local child's care and that would have been an
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: important detail obviously.
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: Yes, Okay, Wow, this is really interesting because I have
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: been a fifth grade girl party attendee okay, and I've been,
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: you know, a receiver of a goodie bag, and there.
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: Are some ones can speak to this.
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: Yes, a very common item people would put in sometimes,
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: like little tiny notepads. Oh and I found those kind
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: of weird because a notebook is so maybe this is
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: because I always liked writing. I'm like, if I have
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: a notebook, it's for like a really specific purpose. So
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: like this little tiny notebook on a keychain does nothing
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: for me. With the home I'm supposed to.
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: Write most what are you? You can write a letter? Yeah?
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: And I also would be like, oh it's too pretty,
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: I won't write in it. I'm like, what is it's
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: very much?
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: Bucket energy? Popcorn? Bucket energy?
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: Worthless? Yes? Worthless? Uh? Okay, So you're saying, don't get those, don't.
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: Get those, I'm gonna start negative, don't get those.
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: I'm gonna start positive and say, have you ever heard
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: of a tutsi roll?
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: Candy?
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: And about a single tutsi roll?
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: Food items are good? Okay, single tutsi roll would be
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: such a bummer goodie bag. They're gonna spend more on
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: the bag than the tutsi roll. That's like a bag
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: of twotsy rolls. Because with like one hundred twos year olds,
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: you have like ten party guys, you go it ted
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: and you, an adult, keeps the rest.
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: This is what you do. You buy a bag of
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: tutsi rolls and as they're on their way out, you say,
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: hold out your hand and you place a tootsy.
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: Roll then yeah, perfect, Okay. I don't know what breaking
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: the bank in this definition means. If someone gave me,
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: like a full TwixT bar, oh, I would be like,
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: holy frack of course, and that a twix bar is
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: like what one fifty two bucks?
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: That's a good candy bar. Prices are all over them.
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: All over the map. So I'll say, I'll say, I'll
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: even be crazy. I'll say, like four dollars, that's nuts.
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: I'm gonna now, I of course have to compete. I'm
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: gonna say, if I were to go to Target right now,
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: I could get a twix bar for a dollar twenty nine.
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: Let's do it. Let's say it's between I don't actually
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: think it's four dollars. I just think someone's drain read
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: is going to have a.
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: Full joined read. They've got your corner. You're there for
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: your medicine.
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: Yes, I don't know how many people at this party,
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: let's say fifteen. Sure, I'm like, okay, three bucks, forty
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: five bucks, Okay, I would be happy if I got
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: a TwixT bar. Leave it a party.
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: I think this is because you were born before twenty ten.
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: I feel like children are no longer impressed by a
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: full sized candy bar.
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: It was so unbelievable.
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: It was together shocking. It was like, oh my god,
- 1:21:56Speaker 4: my parents are broke. My friends they've got this much
- 1:22:00Speaker 4: much money is they're just throwing money over and they're
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: giving these things away. But yeah, I don't know that
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: a child cares about a full sized candy bar anymore.
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: I could be wrong, okay, but I mean as someone
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: you're just at a tutsi roll.
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: Your answer was disturbing. That is that is criminal.
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: Behin and I am going to stand behind it. If
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: you want to get fruities, the ones that are fruit flavored, okay,
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: go all the way with the fruities.
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: Why are you even eating a tutsi roll? If that's
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: the kind of crap.
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: Have you had a lime or an orange fruity?
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: No, Because, Delicious, I'm an adult and I have a brain.
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: You're an adult who is missing out on life. An
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: orange or lime tutsy for as long as they've been around,
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: the flavor profile is very accurate. I mean, I haven't
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: had one in a favor long time, so I don't
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: actually know what I'm saying. Delicious, You're wrong. They're better
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: than a classic tutsi roll, because no one knows what
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: a classic tutsi roll is even supposed to taste, Like,
- 1:22:56Speaker 4: what is that flavor?
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: I feel so sick.
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: Okay, I'm going to just have to stuff everything you've
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: said down because I think you're crazy. But these kids
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: seem like they like drawing. They droll over themselves.
- 1:23:08Speaker 4: Oh yes, which almost sounded like it was in witch territory. Yes,
- 1:23:12Speaker 4: stigmata this kind of thing.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: We'll get them some stigmata or like, what about those
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: like pens that like, I mean, these are also kind
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: of junk, but that like click and have multiple colors.
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: Those are fun.
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: Those are fun and maybe a throwback their throwback. They
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: only work like three times.
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: If you're lucky. Each color gets like half a sentence.
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: I wonder if they've got like an elevated version of
- 1:23:38Speaker 4: that At this point, I feel like they should one
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: that you can count on that you get all three colors, yeah,
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: the green, the red, the blue, Yeah, and you know
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: that the ink will always be there, the welle will
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: never run dry.
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: That feels like a shark tank item.
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: That does Okay? Can I say a psycho pitch that
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: also came to mine? M hmm, A little a little
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: bottle of Martin Ellie's.
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: How little classic? You really are all about class?
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: Ultimately, I'm just about classic.
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: You assume everybody is in the gutter and you're trying
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: to elevate.
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: These girls are going to school with their little milk boxes.
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: Give them a glass of Martin Ellis. That'll show them
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: what's what at that school.
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: I think that's a great idea, and those are probably
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: each uh well again, I have no.
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: Idea because it's in a glass bottle. They probably are
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: actually crazy expensive.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: Thought.
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: I bet you go to Costco they've got, you know,
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: and talk about emergency preparedness.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: The extra for year, just like you're doing with the
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: chutzi rolls.
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: Tootsi rolls.
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: What a cool parent.
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: That's French food.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: Oh I wish that was French food.
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: Well, I think we answered the question perfectly. They're getting
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: Martinelli's and maybe, if you're lucky, a tutsi roll if
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: they're lucky.
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: Yeah, if you're lucky, your kids get to eat a
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: fruit flavored thing that could be chocolate.
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: Oh well, don't write back in whoever you were, Rik,
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: I've had such a lovely time with you here.
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: Likewise, Bridger.
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: I've got now this little Eiffel tower to class up.
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: Any oh oh, it says Paris on the side, just
- 1:25:21Speaker 4: like the like the like the original Eiffel tower.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: The original one says Paris. You might not see it
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: because it's either that you're too closier or too far
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: away you.
- 1:25:28Speaker 4: Can't see, or you're too stunned by the beauty.
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: You might be sun by the beauty, or you're on
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: top of it. You can't see it right, but it's there.
- 1:25:34Speaker 4: It's a very obvious, i would say, borderline tacky thing.
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: They got on there, and you have your little.
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: Cow because I'm too classy, so I kind of need
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: to rough it up and.
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: You uh to hold some hold I'll say it a
- 1:25:49Speaker 4: tootsi roll.
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: Yeah, if you kind of bite it to it's your
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: own half and kind of stuff. Both pieces in here
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: on top of your ice cream. Already very decadent. You
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: could do it.
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: You could do it. Open that cow if I half chewed.
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: Yeah, in like thirty years.
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: Your estate sale.
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to die in thirty years.
- 1:26:07Speaker 4: Yes, I'm sorry. This is also kind of a psychic podcast. No,
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: so just get your affairs in order, that's all. I'm saying, no,
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: why do I have to be responsible for that?
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you do it, you clean up my mess.
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: I'm dead. Yeah, I'm suffer here.
- 1:26:24Speaker 5: Yeah, and I got the cheap funeral where they tell
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: me all the bad things I did.
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: Oh well, thank you for being here, Thank you for
- 1:26:32Speaker 4: having me listener. The podcast is over. What were you expecting?
