  be

  exhausting.

  have

  expenses,

  and

  you're

  when

  the

• 0:09

  or
• 0:10
  when
• 0:10
  the
• 0:10

• 0:11
  or
• 0:11
  course
• 0:11
  is
• 0:11
  gonna
• 0:11
  be
• 0:11
  sold.
• 0:12
  You
• 0:12
  might
• 0:12
  also
• 0:13
  be
• 0:13
  questioning
• 0:13
  your
• 0:14
  niche
• 0:14
  again,
• 0:14
  or
• 0:14
  your
• 0:14
  pricing
• 0:15
  or
• 0:15
  your
• 0:15
  offer
• 0:16
  because
• 0:16
  things
• 0:16
  are
• 0:16
  not
• 0:17
  working
• 0:17
  the

  might

  wanna

  start
• 0:19
  changing
• 0:20
  things,
• 0:20
  right?
• 0:20
  Oh,
• 0:20
  I
• 0:20
  think
• 0:21
  I'll
• 0:21
  just
• 0:21
  change
• 0:21
  my
• 0:21
  offer.
• 0:22
  I
• 0:22
  think
• 0:22
  I'll
• 0:22
  just
• 0:22
  change
• 0:23
  my
• 0:23
  niche
• 0:23
  because
• 0:23
  it
• 0:24
  doesn't
• 0:24
  seem
• 0:24
  to
• 0:24
  be
• 0:24
  working
• 0:24
  the
• 0:25
  way
• 0:25
  you've
• 0:25
  tried.
• 0:25
  You've
• 0:26
  learned
• 0:26
  lots
• 0:26
  of
• 0:26
  things.
• 0:27
  You've
• 0:27
  tried
• 0:27
  lots
• 0:28
  of
• 0:28
  things,
• 0:28
  but
• 0:28
  you
• 0:28
  still
• 0:29
  don't
• 0:29
  feel
• 0:30
  successful.
• 0:33
  This

  is
• 0:33
  Burning
• 0:33
  Brightly,
• 0:34
  a

  moms
• 0:35
  who

  are
• 0:36
  feeling
• 0:36
  called
• 0:36
  to
• 0:36
  build
• 0:36
  a
• 0:36
  business
• 0:37
  and
• 0:37
  share
• 0:37
  their
• 0:38
  light
• 0:38
  with
• 0:38
  the
• 0:38
  world.
• 0:39
  I'm
• 0:39
  Bonnie
• 0:39
  Wescomb,
• 0:40
  a
• 0:40
  life
• 0:40
  coach,
• 0:41
  mom
• 0:41
  and
• 0:41
  entrepreneur,
• 0:42
  and
• 0:43
  I'm
• 0:43
  honored
• 0:43
  to
• 0:43
  be
• 0:43
  your
• 0:43
  guide
• 0:44
  as
• 0:44
  you
• 0:44
  face
• 0:44
  this
• 0:44
  business
• 0:45
  building
• 0:45
  adventure
• 0:45
  full
• 0:46
  of
• 0:46
  highs,
• 0:46
  lows.
• 0:47
  And
• 0:47
  everything
• 0:48
  in
• 0:48
  between.
• 0:49
  This
• 0:49
  is
• 0:49
  where
• 0:49
  we
• 0:49
  help
• 0:49
  each
• 0:50
  other
• 0:50
  find
• 0:50
  the
• 0:50
  courage
• 0:51
  to
• 0:51
  shine.
• 0:55
  Hello
• 0:56
  and
• 0:56
  welcome
• 0:56
  back
• 0:56
  to
• 0:56
  Burning
• 0:57
  Brightly,
• 0:57
  my
• 0:57
  friends.
• 0:58
  Who
• 0:59
  wants
• 0:59
  to
• 0:59
  talk
• 0:59
  about
• 1:00
  being
• 1:00
  in
• 1:00
  the
• 1:00
  messy
• 1:01
  middle
• 1:01
  of
• 1:01
  their
• 1:02
  business,
• 1:02
  or
• 1:03
  is
• 1:03
  that
• 1:03
  a
• 1:03
  little
• 1:03
  bit
• 1:04
  traumatizing
• 1:04
  still?
• 1:05
  If
• 1:05
  you
• 1:05
  feel
• 1:05
  like
• 1:05
  you're
• 1:06
  still
• 1:06
  there,
• 1:07
  you
• 1:07
  might
• 1:07
  not
• 1:07
  wanna
• 1:07
  talk
• 1:07
  about
• 1:08
  it,
• 1:08
  but
• 1:08
  I
• 1:08
  think
• 1:08
  it's
• 1:08
  important.
• 1:09
  So
• 1:09
  we're
• 1:09
  going
• 1:09
  to
• 1:09
  address
• 1:10
  what
• 1:11
  I
• 1:11
  call
• 1:11
  the
• 1:11
  messy
• 1:12
  middle
• 1:12
  of
• 1:12
  business.
• 1:13
  So
• 1:13
  first,
• 1:13
  I
• 1:14
  want
• 1:14
  you
• 1:14
  to
• 1:14
  imagine
• 1:14
  you're
• 1:15
  in
• 1:15
  your
• 1:15
  kitchen
• 1:16
  and
• 1:16
  you
• 1:17
  are
• 1:17
  preparing
• 1:17
  a
• 1:17
  huge
• 1:18
  feast.
• 1:18
  Maybe
• 1:19
  it's
• 1:19
  Thanksgiving,
• 1:20
  maybe
• 1:20
  it's
• 1:21
  a
• 1:21
  homecoming
• 1:21
  for
• 1:22
  one
• 1:22
  of
• 1:22
  your
• 1:22
  adult
• 1:22
  kids.
• 1:23
  Maybe
• 1:23
  it's
• 1:24
  a
• 1:24
  big
• 1:24
  party
• 1:25
  and
• 1:25
  you
• 1:25
  have
• 1:25
  been
• 1:25
  cooking
• 1:26
  all
• 1:26
  day,
• 1:27
  maybe
• 1:27
  multiple
• 1:27
  days,
• 1:28
  and
• 1:28
  your
• 1:28
  kitchen
• 1:29
  looks
• 1:30
  like
• 1:30
  a
• 1:30
  disaster.
• 1:32
  Total
• 1:32
  war
• 1:32
  zone.
• 1:33
  Then
• 1:33
  you
• 1:33
  know
• 1:33
  what
• 1:34
  the
• 1:34
  messy
• 1:34
  middle
• 1:34
  feels
• 1:34
  like
• 1:34
  in
• 1:35
  business.
• 1:35
  It
• 1:35
  feels
• 1:35
  like
• 1:36
  what
• 1:36
  your
• 1:36
  kitchen
• 1:36
  looks
• 1:36
  like
• 1:37
  in
• 1:37
  the
• 1:37
  middle
• 1:37
  of
• 1:37
  Thanksgiving
• 1:38
  prep.
• 1:39
  It
• 1:39
  is
• 1:39
  a
• 1:40
  hot
• 1:40
  mess.
• 1:40
  It's
• 1:41
  sticky
• 1:41
  everywhere.
• 1:42
  Nothing
• 1:43
  looks
• 1:43
  nice
• 1:43
  you're
• 1:43
  wondering
• 1:44
  how
• 1:44
  in
• 1:44
  the
• 1:44
  world
• 1:45
  you're
• 1:45
  gonna
• 1:45
  pull
• 1:45
  it
• 1:45
  all
• 1:45
  off
• 1:45
  and
• 1:46
  make
• 1:46
  your
• 1:46
  house
• 1:46
  look
• 1:46
  pretty
• 1:47
  and
• 1:47
  clean
• 1:47
  by
• 1:47
  the
• 1:47
  time
• 1:47
  guests
• 1:48
  get
• 1:48
  there.
• 1:49
  That
• 1:49
  is
• 1:50
  the
• 1:50
  messy
• 1:50
  middle.
• 1:50
  It's
• 1:51
  not
• 1:51
  Instagram
• 1:51
  worthy.
• 1:52
  You
• 1:52
  don't
• 1:52
  want
• 1:52
  anyone
• 1:53
  to
• 1:53
  see
• 1:53
  it.
• 1:53
  In
• 1:53
  fact,
• 1:53
  you
• 1:54
  really
• 1:54
  hope
• 1:54
  nobody
• 1:54
  shows
• 1:55
  up
• 1:55
  for
• 1:55
  dinner
• 1:55
  early.
• 1:56
  You
• 1:56
  kind
• 1:56
  of
• 1:56
  wanna
• 1:56
  just
• 1:56
  hide
• 1:57
  it
• 1:57
  all,
• 1:57
  but
• 1:58
  because
• 1:58
  you've
• 1:58
  cooked
• 1:59
  and
• 1:59
  hosted
• 2:00
  before,
• 2:01
  you
• 2:01
  know
• 2:01
  that
• 2:02
  in
• 2:02
  the
• 2:02
  end
• 2:02
  it
• 2:02
  will
• 2:02
  probably
• 2:03
  all
• 2:03
  work
• 2:03
  out.
• 2:04
  Here's
• 2:05
  the
• 2:05
  difference
• 2:05
  between
• 2:06
  Thanksgiving
• 2:06
  and
• 2:07
  the
• 2:07
  messy
• 2:07
  middle
• 2:07
  of
• 2:07
  our
• 2:07
  business.
• 2:08
  We've
• 2:08
  never
• 2:09
  actually
• 2:09
  done
• 2:09
  this
• 2:10
  before.
• 2:10
  Likely
• 2:11
  some
• 2:11
  of
• 2:11
  us
• 2:11
  have
• 2:11
  built
• 2:11
  businesses
• 2:12
  before,
• 2:12
  but
• 2:12
  if
• 2:12
  you've
• 2:12
  never
• 2:12
  actually
• 2:13
  done
• 2:13
  it
• 2:13
  before,
• 2:14
  you
• 2:14
  might
• 2:14
  not
• 2:15
  know
• 2:15
  that
• 2:15
  it's
• 2:15
  gonna
• 2:16
  turn
• 2:16
  out,
• 2:17
  and
• 2:17
  that's
• 2:17
  Kind
• 2:17
  of
• 2:17
  panic
• 2:18
  inducing.
• 2:19
  You're
• 2:19
  looking
• 2:19
  around
• 2:19
  this
• 2:19
  giant
• 2:20
  mess
• 2:20
  going,
• 2:21
  is
• 2:21
  this
• 2:21
  even
• 2:22
  gonna
• 2:22
  work
• 2:22
  out?
• 2:22
  Am
• 2:22
  I
• 2:23
  just
• 2:23
  wasting
• 2:23
  all
• 2:23
  my
• 2:23
  time
• 2:24
  and
• 2:24
  energy
• 2:24
  and
• 2:24
  ingredients?
• 2:25
  I
• 2:25
  guess
• 2:26
  to
• 2:26
  go
• 2:26
  with
• 2:27
  the
• 2:27
  metaphor,
• 2:28
  you're
• 2:28
  not
• 2:28
  a
• 2:28
  beginner
• 2:29
  anymore,
• 2:29
  right?
• 2:30
  You've
• 2:30
  done
• 2:31
  a
• 2:31
  lot
• 2:31
  of
• 2:31
  hard
• 2:31
  work.
• 2:31
  You've
• 2:32
  probably
• 2:32
  built
• 2:32
  your
• 2:32
  offer
• 2:33
  already.
• 2:33
  Maybe
• 2:33
  you've
• 2:33
  sold
• 2:34
  a
• 2:34
  few,
• 2:34
  but
• 2:34
  it
• 2:35
  still
• 2:35
  kind
• 2:35
  of
• 2:35
  feels
• 2:35
  like
• 2:36
  you're
• 2:36
  spinning
• 2:36
  your
• 2:36
  wheels
• 2:36
  and
• 2:37
  everywhere
• 2:37
  you
• 2:37
  look,
• 2:37
  it's
• 2:37
  just
• 2:38
  kind
• 2:38
  of
• 2:38
  a
• 2:38
  train
• 2:38
  wreck.
• 2:39
  I
• 2:39
  am
• 2:40
  here
• 2:40
  to
• 2:40
  tell
• 2:40
  you
• 2:40
  today
• 2:40
  that
• 2:41
  the
• 2:41
  messy
• 2:41
  middle
• 2:42
  is
• 2:42
  normal.
• 2:43
  And
• 2:43
  necessary.
• 2:45
  Nothing
• 2:45
  has
• 2:45
  gone
• 2:46
  wrong.
• 2:46
  You're
• 2:47
  exactly
• 2:47
  where
• 2:47
  you're
• 2:47
  supposed
• 2:48
  to
• 2:48
  be.
• 2:48
  And
• 2:48
  yes,
• 2:49
  the
• 2:49
  dinner
• 2:50
  will
• 2:50
  turn
• 2:50
  out.
• 2:51
  It
• 2:51
  will
• 2:51
  be
• 2:51
  beautiful.
• 2:52
  You
• 2:52
  will
• 2:52
  be
• 2:52
  quote
• 2:53
  unquote
• 2:53
  successful,
• 2:54
  but
• 2:54
  it
• 2:55
  takes
• 2:55
  time.
• 2:56
  If
• 2:56
  you
• 2:56
  are
• 2:56
  wondering
• 2:57
  what
• 2:57
  the
• 2:57
  messy
• 2:57
  middle
• 2:58
  looks
• 2:58
  like,
• 2:58
  I'm
• 2:58
  gonna
• 2:59
  give
• 2:59
  you
• 2:59
  a
• 2:59
  few
• 2:59
  examples.
• 3:00
  Number
• 3:00
  one,
• 3:01
  your
• 3:02
  revenue
• 3:02
  is
• 3:02
  probably
• 3:03
  inconsistent.
• 3:03
  This
• 3:04
  is
• 3:04
  one
• 3:04
  of
• 3:04
  the
• 3:04
  most
• 3:04
  frustrating
• 3:05
  things
• 3:05
  about
• 3:05
  building
• 3:05
  a
• 3:05
  business.
• 3:05
  In
• 3:06
  fact,
• 3:06
  I
• 3:06
  probably
• 3:06
  need
• 3:06
  to
• 3:06
  do
• 3:07
  an
• 3:07
  entire
• 3:07
  episode
• 3:07
  just
• 3:08
  on
• 3:08
  this,
• 3:08
  but
• 3:08
  having
• 3:09
  inconsistent
• 3:09
  revenue
• 3:10
  can
• 3:10
  be
• 3:10
  exhausting.
• 3:12
  You
• 3:12
  have
• 3:12
  expenses,
• 3:13
  maybe
• 3:13
  not
• 3:13
  a
• 3:13
  ton
• 3:14
  with
• 3:14
  an
• 3:14
  online
• 3:14
  coaching
• 3:14
  business,
• 3:15
  but
• 3:15
  you've
• 3:15
  got
• 3:15
  some,
• 3:16
  and
• 3:16
  you're
• 3:16
  wondering
• 3:16
  when
• 3:17
  the
• 3:17
  next
• 3:17
  client
• 3:17
  is
• 3:17
  coming
• 3:18
  or
• 3:18
  when
• 3:18
  the
• 3:18
  next
• 3:18
  product
• 3:18
  or
• 3:18
  course
• 3:19
  is
• 3:19
  gonna
• 3:19
  be
• 3:19
  sold.
• 3:20
  You're
• 3:21
  questioning
• 3:22
  how
• 3:22
  you
• 3:22
  can
• 3:22
  get
• 3:22
  back
• 3:22
  to
• 3:22
  that
• 3:23
  one
• 3:23
  time
• 3:23
  last
• 3:23
  year
• 3:24
  when
• 3:24
  you
• 3:24
  made
• 3:24
  a
• 3:24
  bunch
• 3:24
  of
• 3:24
  money
• 3:24
  and
• 3:25
  wondering
• 3:25
  why
• 3:25
  it's
• 3:26
  not
• 3:26
  just
• 3:26
  a
• 3:26
  straight
• 3:27
  upward
• 3:27
  trajectory.
• 3:29
  You
• 3:29
  might
• 3:29
  also
• 3:30
  be
• 3:30
  questioning
• 3:30
  your
• 3:30
  niche
• 3:31
  again,
• 3:31
  or
• 3:31
  your
• 3:31
  pricing
• 3:32
  or
• 3:32
  your
• 3:32
  offer
• 3:33
  because
• 3:33
  things
• 3:34
  are
• 3:34
  not
• 3:34
  working
• 3:34
  the
• 3:34
  way
• 3:35
  you
• 3:35
  anticipated.
• 3:35
  They're
• 3:35
  not
• 3:36
  as
• 3:36
  seamless
• 3:36
  as
• 3:36
  you
• 3:36
  thought.
• 3:37
  Instead
• 3:38
  of
• 3:38
  continuing
• 3:38
  to
• 3:38
  work
• 3:39
  on
• 3:39
  what
• 3:39
  you
• 3:39
  have
• 3:39
  built
• 3:39
  so
• 3:40
  far,
• 3:40
  you
• 3:41
  might
• 3:41
  wanna
• 3:41
  start
• 3:41
  changing
• 3:42
  things,
• 3:42
  right?
• 3:42
  Oh,
• 3:42
  I
• 3:43
  think
• 3:43
  I'll
• 3:43
  just
• 3:43
  change
• 3:43
  my
• 3:43
  offer.
• 3:44
  I
• 3:44
  think
• 3:44
  I'll
• 3:44
  just
• 3:45
  change
• 3:45
  my
• 3:45
  niche
• 3:45
  because
• 3:46
  it
• 3:46
  doesn't
• 3:46
  seem
• 3:46
  to
• 3:46
  be
• 3:46
  working
• 3:47
  the
• 3:47
  way
• 3:47
  you've
• 3:47
  tried.
• 3:48
  You've
• 3:48
  learned
• 3:49
  lots
• 3:49
  of
• 3:49
  things.
• 3:49
  You've
• 3:50
  tried
• 3:50
  lots
• 3:50
  of
• 3:50
  things,
• 3:51
  but
• 3:51
  you
• 3:51
  still
• 3:51
  don't
• 3:52
  feel
• 3:52
  successful.
• 3:54
  Let
• 3:54
  me
• 3:54
  just
• 3:54
  say
• 3:54
  my
• 3:54
  friends,
• 3:55
  I
• 3:55
  understand
• 3:55
  this
• 3:56
  stage
• 3:56
  intimately.
• 3:57
  Every
• 3:57
  business
• 3:58
  I've
• 3:58
  built,
• 3:58
  I've
• 3:58
  gone
• 3:59
  through
• 3:59
  this
• 3:59
  stage
• 3:59
  and
• 3:59
  it
• 4:00
  can
• 4:00
  be
• 4:00
  heartbreaking.
• 4:01
  It
• 4:01
  is
• 4:02
  the
• 4:02
  part
• 4:02
  of
• 4:02
  your
• 4:02
  story.
• 4:03
  If
• 4:03
  you
• 4:03
  think
• 4:04
  about
• 4:04
  the
• 4:04
  hero's
• 4:04
  journey,
• 4:05
  where
• 4:05
  the
• 4:05
  hero
• 4:06
  doubts
• 4:06
  everything,
• 4:07
  you're
• 4:07
  thinking,
• 4:08
  gosh,
• 4:08
  I've
• 4:09
  been
• 4:09
  building
• 4:09
  this
• 4:09
  business
• 4:10
  for
• 4:10
  two
• 4:10
  months
• 4:10
  or
• 4:10
  five
• 4:11
  years,
• 4:11
  or
• 4:11
  however
• 4:11
  long
• 4:12
  you've
• 4:12
  been
• 4:12
  in
• 4:12
  it,
• 4:12
  but
• 4:13
  it's
• 4:13
  still
• 4:13
  not
• 4:13
  what
• 4:14
  I
• 4:14
  envisioned
• 4:14
  success
• 4:15
  to
• 4:15
  be
• 4:16
  like.
• 4:17
  Just
• 4:17
  remember
• 4:18
  that
• 4:18
  this
• 4:18
  is
• 4:18
  normal.
• 4:19
  Every
• 4:19
  successful
• 4:20
  entrepreneur
• 4:20
  you
• 4:20
  admire
• 4:21
  has
• 4:21
  been
• 4:22
  right
• 4:22
  here
• 4:23
  building
• 4:23
  what
• 4:24
  would
• 4:24
  one
• 4:24
  day
• 4:24
  become
• 4:25
  their
• 4:25
  origin
• 4:26
  story.
• 4:26
  We'll
• 4:27
  talk
• 4:27
  more
• 4:27
  about
• 4:27
  origin
• 4:27
  story
• 4:28
  in
• 4:28
  a
• 4:28
  second,
• 4:28
  but
• 4:28
  here's
• 4:29
  the
• 4:29
  important
• 4:29
  thing.
• 4:30
  In
• 4:30
  the
• 4:30
  messy
• 4:31
  middle,
• 4:31
  you
• 4:31
  only
• 4:31
  have
• 4:32
  one
• 4:32
  job.
• 4:33
  Are
• 4:33
  you
• 4:33
  ready?
• 4:34
  That
• 4:35
  job
• 4:35
  is
• 4:35
  to
• 4:35
  not
• 4:36
  quit.
• 4:37
  Do
• 4:37
  not
• 4:37
  quit
• 4:37
  in
• 4:37
  the
• 4:38
  messy
• 4:38
  middle.
• 4:39
  You've
• 4:39
  probably
• 4:39
  heard
• 4:39
  me
• 4:39
  explain
• 4:40
  before
• 4:41
  about
• 4:41
  the
• 4:41
  business
• 4:42
  building
• 4:42
  rollercoaster.
• 4:43
  It's
• 4:43
  this
• 4:43
  metaphor
• 4:43
  that
• 4:43
  I
• 4:44
  love
• 4:44
  to
• 4:44
  break
• 4:45
  down
• 4:45
  to
• 4:45
  show
• 4:45
  you
• 4:45
  all
• 4:46
  the
• 4:46
  phases
• 4:46
  of
• 4:46
  building
• 4:46
  a
• 4:46
  business.
• 4:48
  The
• 4:48
  messy
• 4:48
  middle
• 4:49
  is
• 4:49
  simply
• 4:49
  a
• 4:49
  dip
• 4:50
  in
• 4:50
  that
• 4:50
  rollercoaster,
• 4:51
  It's
• 4:51
  just
• 4:52
  the
• 4:52
  low
• 4:52
  part,
• 4:52
  but
• 4:53
  things
• 4:53
  will
• 4:53
  go
• 4:53
  up
• 4:53
  again
• 4:54
  if
• 4:54
  you
• 4:54
  bail.
• 4:55
  Now,
• 4:55
  this
• 4:55
  is
• 4:55
  the
• 4:55
  important
• 4:56
  thing.
• 4:56
  If
• 4:56
  you
• 4:56
  bail
• 4:57
  now
• 4:57
  in
• 4:57
  your
• 4:57
  business
• 4:58
  building
• 4:58
  adventure,
• 4:59
  you
• 5:00
  will
• 5:00
  just
• 5:00
  encounter
• 5:01
  this
• 5:01
  dip
• 5:01
  in
• 5:01
  anything
• 5:02
  else
• 5:02
  you
• 5:02
  do.
• 5:03
  It
• 5:03
  comes
• 5:04
  when
• 5:04
  you
• 5:05
  encounter
• 5:05
  a
• 5:05
  church
• 5:05
  calling.
• 5:06
  It
• 5:06
  comes
• 5:06
  in
• 5:07
  motherhood.
• 5:07
  It
• 5:07
  comes
• 5:08
  in
• 5:08
  pretty
• 5:08
  much
• 5:09
  any
• 5:09
  project
• 5:09
  you
• 5:09
  can
• 5:09
  ever
• 5:10
  take
• 5:10
  on.
• 5:11
  So
• 5:11
  don't
• 5:11
  think
• 5:11
  that
• 5:12
  you're
• 5:12
  gonna
• 5:12
  quit
• 5:12
  or
• 5:12
  shift
• 5:13
  your
• 5:13
  niche
• 5:13
  or
• 5:13
  try
• 5:14
  a
• 5:14
  different
• 5:14
  business
• 5:14
  and
• 5:15
  avoid
• 5:15
  this
• 5:16
  dip.
• 5:16
  The
• 5:16
  only
• 5:17
  way
• 5:17
  out
• 5:17
  is
• 5:17
  through.
• 5:18
  So
• 5:18
  that's
• 5:18
  important
• 5:18
  to
• 5:18
  know.
• 5:19
  Alright,
• 5:19
  so
• 5:20
  let's
• 5:20
  talk
• 5:20
  about
• 5:20
  the
• 5:20
  origin
• 5:21
  story
• 5:21
  perspective.
• 5:22
  I
• 5:22
  love
• 5:22
  to
• 5:22
  tell
• 5:23
  myself
• 5:23
  this
• 5:23
  story
• 5:23
  because
• 5:24
  as
• 5:24
  we
• 5:24
  know,
• 5:24
  everything
• 5:24
  we
• 5:24
  think
• 5:25
  is
• 5:25
  just
• 5:25
  a
• 5:25
  story.
• 5:25
  And
• 5:26
  here's
• 5:26
  how
• 5:26
  we're
• 5:26
  gonna
• 5:26
  shift
• 5:27
  our
• 5:27
  story
• 5:27
  about
• 5:27
  the
• 5:27
  messy
• 5:27
  middle.
• 5:29
  If
• 5:29
  your
• 5:29
  life
• 5:29
  were
• 5:30
  a
• 5:30
  movie,
• 5:31
  this
• 5:31
  would
• 5:31
  be
• 5:31
  the
• 5:31
  messy
• 5:32
  montage.
• 5:33
  Have
• 5:33
  you
• 5:34
  seen
• 5:34
  movies,
• 5:34
  right?
• 5:34
  Where
• 5:34
  all
• 5:35
  of
• 5:35
  a
• 5:35
  sudden
• 5:35
  everything
• 5:35
  is
• 5:35
  going
• 5:36
  wrong
• 5:36
  and
• 5:36
  the
• 5:36
  lead
• 5:37
  character
• 5:37
  has
• 5:37
  insulted
• 5:38
  the
• 5:38
  boy
• 5:38
  she
• 5:38
  had
• 5:38
  a
• 5:38
  crush
• 5:39
  on,
• 5:39
  and
• 5:39
  she's
• 5:39
  lost
• 5:40
  her
• 5:40
  job
• 5:40
  and
• 5:40
  she's
• 5:40
  gonna
• 5:41
  get
• 5:41
  evicted
• 5:41
  from
• 5:41
  her
• 5:41
  apartment
• 5:42
  and
• 5:42
  everything
• 5:42
  is
• 5:43
  falling
• 5:43
  apart.
• 5:44
  It's
• 5:44
  right
• 5:45
  before
• 5:46
  a
• 5:46
  big
• 5:46
  breakthrough,
• 5:47
  right
• 5:47
  before
• 5:47
  things
• 5:48
  start
• 5:48
  to
• 5:48
  look
• 5:48
  up
• 5:49
  all
• 5:49
  of
• 5:49
  a
• 5:49
  sudden.
• 5:50
  She
• 5:51
  apologizes.
• 5:51
  All
• 5:51
  of
• 5:51
  a
• 5:52
  sudden
• 5:52
  she
• 5:52
  gets
• 5:53
  a
• 5:53
  new
• 5:53
  job.
• 5:53
  All
• 5:53
  of
• 5:53
  a
• 5:53
  sudden
• 5:54
  the
• 5:54
  apartment
• 5:54
  is
• 5:54
  saved.
• 5:55
  Right?
• 5:55
  That
• 5:56
  is
• 5:56
  how
• 5:56
  storytelling
• 5:57
  goes,
• 5:57
  and
• 5:57
  that
• 5:57
  happens
• 5:58
  in
• 5:58
  life
• 5:58
  as
• 5:58
  well.
• 5:58
  Not
• 5:58
  quite
• 5:59
  as
• 5:59
  beautifully
• 5:59
  as
• 5:59
  Hollywood
• 6:00
  does
• 6:00
  it,
• 6:01
  but
• 6:01
  this
• 6:01
  is
• 6:01
  just
• 6:02
  that
• 6:02
  messy
• 6:02
  montage,
• 6:03
  right
• 6:03
  Before
• 6:03
  things
• 6:04
  get
• 6:04
  better.
• 6:05
  Here
• 6:05
  are
• 6:05
  a
• 6:05
  few
• 6:05
  of
• 6:06
  my
• 6:06
  examples
• 6:06
  that
• 6:06
  I
• 6:06
  love
• 6:07
  to
• 6:07
  touch
• 6:07
  back
• 6:07
  on
• 6:07
  when
• 6:08
  I'm
• 6:08
  thinking
• 6:08
  about
• 6:08
  this
• 6:08
  origin
• 6:08
  story,
• 6:09
  once
• 6:09
  again,
• 6:09
  that
• 6:10
  messy
• 6:10
  kitchen
• 6:10
  before
• 6:11
  a
• 6:11
  beautiful
• 6:11
  meal,
• 6:11
  you
• 6:12
  cannot
• 6:12
  create
• 6:12
  a
• 6:12
  beautiful
• 6:13
  meal
• 6:13
  without
• 6:14
  making
• 6:14
  a
• 6:14
  mess.
• 6:15
  You
• 6:15
  have
• 6:16
  to
• 6:16
  make
• 6:16
  the
• 6:16
  mess.
• 6:17
  If
• 6:17
  you're
• 6:17
  really
• 6:17
  disciplined,
• 6:18
  you
• 6:18
  clean
• 6:18
  up
• 6:18
  as
• 6:18
  you
• 6:18
  go,
• 6:18
  but
• 6:19
  I
• 6:19
  haven't
• 6:19
  gotten
• 6:19
  there
• 6:19
  yet.
• 6:20
  Another
• 6:21
  example
• 6:21
  I'd
• 6:21
  love
• 6:21
  to
• 6:21
  think
• 6:21
  about
• 6:22
  is
• 6:23
  growing
• 6:23
  a
• 6:23
  baby
• 6:23
  inside
• 6:24
  of
• 6:24
  you.
• 6:24
  Have
• 6:24
  you
• 6:24
  ever
• 6:25
  looked
• 6:25
  at
• 6:25
  those
• 6:25
  early
• 6:26
  fetal
• 6:27
  ultrasounds
• 6:27
  of
• 6:27
  your
• 6:28
  baby
• 6:28
  at
• 6:29
  two
• 6:29
  or
• 6:29
  three
• 6:29
  months?
• 6:30
  The
• 6:30
  poor
• 6:31
  child
• 6:31
  looks
• 6:31
  like
• 6:31
  a
• 6:31
  legless
• 6:32
  alien.
• 6:33
  They're
• 6:33
  some
• 6:33
  of
• 6:33
  the
• 6:33
  creepiest
• 6:34
  images
• 6:34
  I've
• 6:34
  ever
• 6:34
  seen,
• 6:35
  but
• 6:35
  you
• 6:35
  know
• 6:36
  that
• 6:36
  in
• 6:36
  six
• 6:36
  or
• 6:36
  seven
• 6:37
  months,
• 6:37
  that
• 6:37
  baby
• 6:37
  is
• 6:37
  going
• 6:38
  to
• 6:38
  turn
• 6:38
  into
• 6:38
  a
• 6:38
  beautiful,
• 6:39
  gorgeous,
• 6:40
  brand
• 6:40
  new
• 6:41
  baby.
• 6:42
  Similarly,
• 6:43
  the
• 6:43
  caterpillar
• 6:44
  who
• 6:44
  turns
• 6:44
  into
• 6:45
  the
• 6:45
  beautiful
• 6:45
  butterfly.
• 6:46
  If
• 6:46
  you
• 6:46
  see
• 6:46
  a
• 6:46
  caterpillar
• 6:47
  in
• 6:47
  a
• 6:47
  chrysalis,
• 6:47
  it's
• 6:47
  kind
• 6:47
  of
• 6:48
  gross
• 6:48
  looking.
• 6:48
  I'll
• 6:48
  be
• 6:49
  honest.
• 6:49
  It
• 6:49
  is
• 6:49
  not
• 6:50
  beautiful
• 6:50
  in
• 6:51
  the
• 6:51
  least.
• 6:52
  And
• 6:52
  here's
• 6:52
  the
• 6:52
  thing,
• 6:53
  if
• 6:53
  you
• 6:53
  had
• 6:53
  not
• 6:54
  had
• 6:54
  experience
• 6:55
  with
• 6:55
  creating
• 6:55
  a
• 6:55
  meal
• 6:56
  or
• 6:56
  seeing
• 6:56
  a
• 6:56
  baby
• 6:57
  transform
• 6:57
  from
• 6:57
  a
• 6:57
  creepy
• 6:58
  ultrasound
• 6:58
  to
• 6:58
  a
• 6:59
  beautiful
• 6:59
  baby,
• 7:00
  or
• 7:00
  seeing
• 7:00
  a
• 7:00
  caterpillar
• 7:01
  turn
• 7:01
  into
• 7:01
  a
• 7:01
  butterfly,
• 7:02
  you
• 7:02
  would
• 7:02
  be
• 7:02
  hard
• 7:03
  pressed
• 7:03
  to
• 7:03
  believe
• 7:03
  that
• 7:04
  was
• 7:04
  possible.
• 7:05
  You
• 7:05
  would
• 7:05
  think
• 7:05
  there's
• 7:06
  no
• 7:06
  way
• 7:06
  that
• 7:07
  creepy
• 7:07
  alien
• 7:07
  is
• 7:07
  gonna
• 7:08
  turn
• 7:08
  into
• 7:08
  that.
• 7:08
  Yeah,
• 7:09
  there's
• 7:09
  no
• 7:09
  way
• 7:09
  that
• 7:09
  crusty
• 7:10
  chrysalis
• 7:10
  is
• 7:10
  gonna
• 7:11
  turn
• 7:11
  into
• 7:11
  that,
• 7:12
  but
• 7:12
  we
• 7:12
  have
• 7:12
  seen
• 7:12
  it.
• 7:13
  So
• 7:13
  we
• 7:13
  have
• 7:13
  faith.
• 7:13
  It
• 7:13
  will
• 7:13
  happen.
• 7:14
  That
• 7:15
  is
• 7:15
  the
• 7:15
  future
• 7:15
  for
• 7:15
  our
• 7:16
  business.
• 7:16
  It
• 7:16
  is
• 7:17
  a
• 7:17
  transformation
• 7:17
  that's
• 7:18
  unbelievable
• 7:19
  and
• 7:19
  eventually
• 7:20
  inevitable,
• 7:21
  but
• 7:21
  you
• 7:22
  have
• 7:22
  to
• 7:22
  see
• 7:22
  it
• 7:22
  through.
• 7:23
  You
• 7:23
  can't
• 7:23
  throw
• 7:24
  the
• 7:24
  chrysalis
• 7:24
  away
• 7:25
  just
• 7:25
  'cause
• 7:25
  it's
• 7:25
  ugly.
• 7:26
  Just
• 7:27
  trust
• 7:27
  that
• 7:27
  it's
• 7:27
  coming.
• 7:29
  The
• 7:29
  beauty
• 7:29
  of
• 7:29
  all
• 7:30
  of
• 7:30
  this,
• 7:30
  of
• 7:30
  everything
• 7:30
  you're
• 7:30
  building
• 7:31
  right
• 7:31
  now
• 7:31
  only
• 7:31
  comes
• 7:32
  on
• 7:32
  the
• 7:32
  other
• 7:32
  side
• 7:33
  and
• 7:33
  you
• 7:33
  can't
• 7:33
  skip
• 7:33
  the
• 7:33
  ugly
• 7:34
  parts.
• 7:34
  I
• 7:35
  know
• 7:35
  that
• 7:35
  on
• 7:35
  social
• 7:35
  media,
• 7:36
  it
• 7:36
  looks
• 7:36
  like
• 7:36
  it.
• 7:36
  Your
• 7:37
  business
• 7:37
  mentors
• 7:37
  skip
• 7:38
  the
• 7:38
  ugly
• 7:38
  parts.
• 7:38
  They
• 7:38
  do
• 7:38
  not.
• 7:39
  They
• 7:39
  just
• 7:39
  don't
• 7:39
  post
• 7:40
  them.
• 7:40
  Okay.
• 7:41
  I
• 7:41
  remember
• 7:42
  once
• 7:42
  years
• 7:42
  ago
• 7:42
  I
• 7:42
  was
• 7:42
  following
• 7:43
  this
• 7:43
  influencer
• 7:43
  who
• 7:44
  everything
• 7:44
  she
• 7:44
  posted
• 7:44
  just
• 7:44
  looked
• 7:45
  gorgeous.
• 7:45
  Every
• 7:45
  picture
• 7:46
  was
• 7:46
  pristine,
• 7:46
  every
• 7:47
  outfit
• 7:47
  was
• 7:47
  beautiful.
• 7:48
  And
• 7:48
  someone
• 7:49
  once
• 7:49
  asked
• 7:49
  on
• 7:50
  one
• 7:50
  of
• 7:50
  her
• 7:50
  pictures,
• 7:51
  do
• 7:51
  you
• 7:51
  take
• 7:52
  a
• 7:52
  bad
• 7:52
  photo?
• 7:53
  And
• 7:54
  she
• 7:54
  said,
• 7:54
  of
• 7:55
  course.
• 7:55
  I
• 7:55
  just
• 7:55
  don't
• 7:56
  post
• 7:56
  them.
• 7:57
  So
• 7:58
  remember,
• 7:58
  everyone
• 7:59
  has
• 7:59
  ugly
• 7:59
  parts
• 7:59
  in
• 7:59
  their
• 7:59
  life.
• 8:00
  It's
• 8:00
  just
• 8:00
  we
• 8:00
  are
• 8:01
  constantly
• 8:01
  bombarded
• 8:02
  by
• 8:02
  people's
• 8:02
  highlight
• 8:02
  reels
• 8:03
  that
• 8:03
  we
• 8:03
  forget
• 8:04
  that
• 8:04
  we're
• 8:04
  all
• 8:05
  in
• 8:05
  this
• 8:05
  together.
• 8:06
  And
• 8:06
  the
• 8:07
  fact
• 8:07
  is,
• 8:08
  the
• 8:08
  ugly
• 8:08
  parts
• 8:09
  are
• 8:09
  what
• 8:09
  make
• 8:09
  the
• 8:10
  success
• 8:10
  meaningful.
• 8:12
  Years
• 8:12
  ago,
• 8:12
  when
• 8:13
  I
• 8:13
  was
• 8:13
  building
• 8:13
  my
• 8:13
  clothing
• 8:14
  boutique,
• 8:14
  I
• 8:14
  followed
• 8:15
  a
• 8:15
  girl
• 8:15
  who
• 8:15
  was
• 8:15
  very
• 8:15
  inspiring,
• 8:16
  had
• 8:16
  an
• 8:16
  incredibly
• 8:17
  successful
• 8:17
  boutique,
• 8:18
  and
• 8:18
  I
• 8:18
  wanted
• 8:19
  to
• 8:19
  find
• 8:19
  out
• 8:19
  what
• 8:19
  her
• 8:19
  origin
• 8:19
  story
• 8:20
  was.
• 8:20
  So
• 8:20
  I
• 8:21
  found.
• 8:21
  An
• 8:21
  Instagram
• 8:22
  video
• 8:22
  where
• 8:22
  she
• 8:22
  had
• 8:23
  told
• 8:23
  how
• 8:24
  she
• 8:24
  started
• 8:24
  out
• 8:24
  her
• 8:24
  business,
• 8:25
  and
• 8:25
  I'm
• 8:25
  telling
• 8:26
  you,
• 8:26
  it
• 8:26
  was
• 8:26
  the
• 8:26
  most
• 8:26
  uninspiring
• 8:27
  story
• 8:27
  I'd
• 8:27
  ever
• 8:27
  heard.
• 8:27
  She
• 8:28
  just
• 8:28
  said,
• 8:28
  well,
• 8:29
  my
• 8:29
  husband
• 8:29
  and
• 8:29
  I
• 8:29
  decided
• 8:30
  to
• 8:30
  buy
• 8:30
  some
• 8:31
  wholesale
• 8:31
  clothing,
• 8:32
  and
• 8:32
  then
• 8:32
  we
• 8:32
  put
• 8:32
  it
• 8:32
  online
• 8:32
  and
• 8:33
  people
• 8:33
  started
• 8:33
  buying
• 8:33
  it,
• 8:33
  and
• 8:34
  here
• 8:34
  we're
• 8:34
  now
• 8:35
  with
• 8:35
  a
• 8:35
  50,000
• 8:36
  square
• 8:36
  foot
• 8:36
  warehouse
• 8:36
  making
• 8:37
  millions
• 8:37
  of
• 8:37
  dollars.
• 8:37
  And
• 8:37
  I
• 8:37
  thought,
• 8:38
  that
• 8:38
  is
• 8:38
  so
• 8:38
  uninspiring.
• 8:40
  You
• 8:40
  just
• 8:40
  started
• 8:40
  and
• 8:41
  it
• 8:41
  just
• 8:41
  was
• 8:41
  an
• 8:41
  upward
• 8:42
  trajectory
• 8:42
  with
• 8:42
  no
• 8:43
  loopy
• 8:43
  loops
• 8:44
  or.
• 8:44
  Hard
• 8:44
  parts.
• 8:45
  Come
• 8:45
  on
• 8:45
  lady.
• 8:46
  That's
• 8:46
  not
• 8:46
  inspiring.
• 8:47
  I
• 8:47
  mean,
• 8:47
  good
• 8:47
  for
• 8:47
  her.
• 8:48
  But
• 8:48
  the
• 8:48
  vast
• 8:48
  majority
• 8:49
  of
• 8:49
  us
• 8:49
  are
• 8:49
  gonna
• 8:50
  have
• 8:50
  a
• 8:50
  much
• 8:50
  more
• 8:51
  circuitous
• 8:51
  route
• 8:52
  to
• 8:52
  success.
• 8:53
  Another
• 8:53
  one
• 8:53
  of
• 8:53
  my
• 8:54
  favorite
• 8:54
  ways
• 8:54
  to
• 8:54
  look
• 8:54
  at
• 8:54
  this
• 8:55
  phase
• 8:55
  is
• 8:55
  from
• 8:56
  the
• 8:56
  Future
• 8:56
  me
• 8:56
  perspective,
• 8:58
  right?
• 8:58
  So
• 8:58
  I
• 8:58
  envision
• 8:59
  myself
• 8:59
  five
• 8:59
  or
• 8:59
  10
• 8:59
  years
• 9:00
  down
• 9:00
  the
• 9:00
  road
• 9:01
  making
• 9:01
  millions
• 9:01
  of
• 9:01
  dollars,
• 9:02
  speaking
• 9:02
  on
• 9:02
  stages,
• 9:03
  inspiring
• 9:04
  thousands
• 9:04
  of
• 9:04
  people.
• 9:05
  Future
• 9:06
  me
• 9:06
  wants
• 9:07
  a
• 9:07
  messy
• 9:07
  middle
• 9:08
  story.
• 9:08
  I
• 9:08
  don't
• 9:08
  wanna
• 9:09
  be
• 9:09
  like
• 9:09
  the
• 9:09
  boring
• 9:09
  boutique
• 9:10
  owner.
• 9:10
  I
• 9:10
  want
• 9:11
  to
• 9:11
  tell
• 9:11
  my
• 9:11
  audience
• 9:12
  how
• 9:12
  I
• 9:12
  ran
• 9:13
  out
• 9:13
  of
• 9:13
  money,
• 9:14
  how
• 9:14
  my
• 9:14
  checking
• 9:15
  account
• 9:15
  was
• 9:15
  empty,
• 9:16
  how
• 9:16
  I
• 9:16
  wanted
• 9:17
  to
• 9:17
  quit,
• 9:18
  how
• 9:18
  nothing
• 9:18
  was
• 9:18
  working.
• 9:19
  It
• 9:20
  is
• 9:20
  so
• 9:20
  much
• 9:20
  more
• 9:21
  inspiring
• 9:21
  than
• 9:21
  those
• 9:22
  overnight
• 9:22
  success
• 9:22
  stories,
• 9:23
  even
• 9:23
  though
• 9:23
  we
• 9:23
  feel
• 9:23
  like
• 9:24
  we
• 9:24
  would
• 9:24
  much
• 9:24
  prefer
• 9:24
  to
• 9:25
  have
• 9:25
  one
• 9:25
  of
• 9:25
  those.
• 9:26
  I
• 9:26
  hold
• 9:26
  on
• 9:27
  to
• 9:27
  this
• 9:27
  story
• 9:27
  for
• 9:28
  Future
• 9:28
  Me.
• 9:29
  But
• 9:29
  also
• 9:30
  for
• 9:30
  my
• 9:30
  future
• 9:31
  audience
• 9:31
  who
• 9:31
  will
• 9:32
  also
• 9:32
  need
• 9:32
  that
• 9:32
  inspiration
• 9:33
  because
• 9:34
  the
• 9:34
  fact
• 9:34
  of
• 9:34
  the
• 9:34
  matter
• 9:34
  is
• 9:34
  every
• 9:35
  step
• 9:35
  we
• 9:35
  take
• 9:35
  in
• 9:36
  the
• 9:36
  messy
• 9:36
  middle
• 9:36
  becomes
• 9:37
  an
• 9:37
  inspiring
• 9:37
  story
• 9:37
  for
• 9:38
  someone
• 9:38
  else.
• 9:39
  Every
• 9:39
  step
• 9:40
  in
• 9:40
  faith
• 9:40
  that
• 9:40
  I
• 9:40
  take
• 9:41
  in
• 9:41
  the
• 9:41
  messy
• 9:41
  middle
• 9:42
  becomes
• 9:42
  inspiring
• 9:43
  for
• 9:43
  someone
• 9:43
  else
• 9:43
  down
• 9:44
  the
• 9:44
  road.
• 9:44
  So
• 9:45
  if
• 9:45
  you're
• 9:45
  having
• 9:45
  a
• 9:45
  hard
• 9:45
  time
• 9:45
  holding
• 9:46
  on
• 9:46
  for
• 9:46
  you,
• 9:47
  hold
• 9:47
  on
• 9:47
  for
• 9:48
  someone
• 9:48
  else
• 9:49
  who
• 9:49
  might
• 9:49
  need
• 9:49
  to
• 9:49
  hear
• 9:49
  this
• 9:49
  story.
• 9:50
  All
• 9:50
  right,
• 9:50
  so
• 9:50
  let's
• 9:51
  talk
• 9:51
  about
• 9:51
  the
• 9:51
  spiritual
• 9:51
  perspective
• 9:52
  of
• 9:52
  this.
• 9:53
  Did
• 9:53
  you
• 9:53
  know
• 9:53
  that
• 9:54
  heavenly
• 9:54
  father
• 9:54
  also
• 9:54
  does
• 9:55
  not
• 9:55
  skip
• 9:55
  the
• 9:55
  messy
• 9:55
  middle
• 9:56
  in
• 9:56
  his
• 9:56
  stories?
• 9:57
  I
• 9:57
  think
• 9:58
  specifically
• 9:58
  of
• 9:58
  Joseph
• 9:59
  Smith
• 9:59
  in
• 9:59
  Liberty
• 10:00
  jail
• 10:01
  or
• 10:01
  of
• 10:01
  job
• 10:01
  being
• 10:02
  betrayed
• 10:02
  by
• 10:02
  his
• 10:03
  friends?
• 10:04
  In
• 10:04
  truth,
• 10:05
  the
• 10:05
  middle
• 10:05
  is
• 10:05
  where
• 10:06
  the
• 10:06
  faith
• 10:06
  is
• 10:06
  refined
• 10:07
  and
• 10:08
  where
• 10:08
  your
• 10:08
  character
• 10:09
  is
• 10:09
  shaped.
• 10:10
  The
• 10:10
  refiners
• 10:11
  fire,
• 10:11
  right?
• 10:12
  It's
• 10:12
  shaped
• 10:12
  for
• 10:12
  what
• 10:13
  is
• 10:13
  coming.
• 10:13
  So
• 10:14
  if
• 10:14
  we
• 10:14
  can
• 10:14
  just
• 10:15
  have
• 10:15
  patience
• 10:16
  in
• 10:16
  God's
• 10:16
  timing,
• 10:17
  if
• 10:17
  we
• 10:17
  can
• 10:17
  just
• 10:17
  believe
• 10:19
  that
• 10:19
  it's
• 10:19
  not
• 10:19
  always
• 10:19
  gonna
• 10:19
  be
• 10:20
  like
• 10:20
  this,
• 10:20
  we're
• 10:20
  gonna
• 10:21
  be
• 10:21
  okay
• 10:21
  in
• 10:21
  the
• 10:21
  long
• 10:22
  run,
• 10:23
  I
• 10:23
  love
• 10:23
  to
• 10:23
  remind
• 10:23
  myself
• 10:24
  that
• 10:24
  I'm
• 10:24
  not
• 10:24
  behind.
• 10:25
  I
• 10:25
  am
• 10:25
  just
• 10:25
  being
• 10:25
  prepared
• 10:26
  for
• 10:26
  what's
• 10:26
  coming.
• 10:27
  In
• 10:27
  fact,
• 10:27
  sometimes
• 10:28
  I
• 10:28
  think
• 10:29
  I'm
• 10:29
  actually
• 10:29
  probably
• 10:30
  not
• 10:30
  quite
• 10:30
  ready
• 10:31
  for
• 10:31
  the
• 10:31
  success
• 10:31
  that's
• 10:31
  coming.
• 10:32
  Whether
• 10:32
  that's
• 10:33
  emotional
• 10:34
  or
• 10:34
  spiritual
• 10:34
  growth,
• 10:35
  or
• 10:35
  just
• 10:36
  tactical
• 10:37
  growth,
• 10:37
  like
• 10:37
  maybe
• 10:37
  I
• 10:37
  just
• 10:37
  don't
• 10:38
  even
• 10:38
  have
• 10:38
  the
• 10:38
  time
• 10:38
  or
• 10:38
  the
• 10:39
  energy
• 10:39
  to
• 10:39
  take
• 10:39
  care
• 10:40
  of
• 10:40
  all
• 10:40
  the
• 10:40
  success
• 10:40
  that
• 10:40
  it's
• 10:40
  coming.
• 10:41
  That's
• 10:41
  what
• 10:41
  the
• 10:42
  messy
• 10:42
  middle
• 10:42
  is
• 10:42
  for.
• 10:42
  It's
• 10:43
  sorting
• 10:43
  out
• 10:43
  all
• 10:43
  those
• 10:44
  pieces
• 10:44
  until
• 10:44
  you're
• 10:44
  ready
• 10:45
  for
• 10:45
  real
• 10:46
  success.
• 10:47
  Now,
• 10:47
  so
• 10:47
  far
• 10:47
  we've
• 10:48
  just
• 10:48
  talked
• 10:48
  about
• 10:48
  the
• 10:48
  mindset
• 10:49
  of
• 10:49
  getting
• 10:49
  through
• 10:49
  the
• 10:49
  messy
• 10:49
  middle,
• 10:50
  but
• 10:50
  I
• 10:50
  want
• 10:50
  to
• 10:50
  give
• 10:50
  you
• 10:50
  some
• 10:50
  tactical
• 10:51
  tips
• 10:51
  as
• 10:51
  well.
• 10:52
  Here
• 10:53
  is
• 10:53
  how
• 10:53
  you
• 10:53
  can
• 10:53
  make
• 10:53
  sure
• 10:54
  that
• 10:54
  you
• 10:54
  are
• 10:54
  actually
• 10:55
  making
• 10:55
  progress
• 10:55
  towards
• 10:56
  that
• 10:56
  inevitable
• 10:56
  success,
• 10:57
  and
• 10:57
  not
• 10:57
  just
• 10:57
  staying
• 10:58
  stuck
• 10:58
  in
• 10:58
  the
• 10:58
  messy
• 10:59
  middle.
• 11:00
  The
• 11:00
  first
• 11:00
  thing
• 11:00
  you
• 11:00
  need
• 11:01
  to
• 11:01
  do
• 11:01
  is
• 11:01
  you
• 11:01
  need
• 11:02
  to
• 11:02
  take
• 11:02
  time
• 11:02
  every
• 11:03
  month
• 11:03
  to
• 11:04
  look
• 11:04
  at
• 11:04
  your
• 11:04
  analytics,
• 11:04
  look
• 11:05
  at
• 11:05
  your
• 11:05
  numbers,
• 11:05
  so
• 11:05
  that
• 11:06
  looks
• 11:06
  like
• 11:06
  sales.
• 11:07
  Have
• 11:07
  you
• 11:07
  sold
• 11:07
  any
• 11:07
  coaching
• 11:08
  programs?
• 11:08
  Have
• 11:09
  you
• 11:09
  made
• 11:09
  any
• 11:09
  sales?
• 11:09
  keep
• 11:10
  track
• 11:10
  of
• 11:10
  your
• 11:10
  sales
• 11:11
  every
• 11:11
  single
• 11:11
  month.
• 11:12
  Also,
• 11:12
  keep
• 11:13
  track
• 11:13
  of
• 11:13
  your
• 11:13
  email
• 11:13
  subscribers.
• 11:14
  You
• 11:14
  want
• 11:14
  that
• 11:14
  list
• 11:15
  to
• 11:15
  be
• 11:15
  growing.
• 11:15
  If
• 11:15
  it's
• 11:15
  not,
• 11:16
  you're
• 11:16
  not
• 11:16
  actually
• 11:16
  finding
• 11:16
  new
• 11:17
  people
• 11:17
  and
• 11:17
  you're
• 11:17
  not
• 11:17
  gonna
• 11:17
  have
• 11:18
  new
• 11:18
  people
• 11:18
  to
• 11:18
  sell
• 11:18
  to.
• 11:20
  Also,
• 11:20
  track
• 11:21
  your
• 11:21
  engagement
• 11:22
  of
• 11:22
  some
• 11:22
  sort.
• 11:22
  Now
• 11:22
  you
• 11:22
  get
• 11:23
  to
• 11:23
  decide
• 11:23
  what
• 11:23
  engagement
• 11:23
  you
• 11:24
  wanna
• 11:24
  track.
• 11:24
  Maybe
• 11:24
  you're
• 11:24
  really.
• 11:26
  Interested
• 11:26
  in
• 11:26
  growing
• 11:26
  on
• 11:26
  social
• 11:27
  media.
• 11:27
  Maybe
• 11:27
  you
• 11:27
  really
• 11:28
  wanna
• 11:28
  grow
• 11:28
  a
• 11:28
  podcast
• 11:29
  or
• 11:29
  YouTube
• 11:29
  numbers,
• 11:29
  whatever
• 11:30
  it
• 11:30
  is
• 11:30
  that
• 11:30
  you're
• 11:30
  working
• 11:31
  on
• 11:31
  every
• 11:31
  week.
• 11:31
  Track
• 11:32
  those
• 11:32
  numbers.
• 11:33
  And
• 11:33
  then
• 11:34
  you're
• 11:34
  also
• 11:34
  gonna
• 11:34
  want
• 11:34
  to
• 11:34
  track
• 11:35
  your
• 11:35
  website
• 11:35
  traffic
• 11:36
  to
• 11:36
  make
• 11:36
  sure
• 11:36
  people
• 11:36
  are
• 11:36
  actually
• 11:36
  coming.
• 11:37
  So
• 11:37
  sales,
• 11:37
  email
• 11:38
  subscribers,
• 11:39
  engagement
• 11:39
  on
• 11:39
  whatever
• 11:40
  platform
• 11:40
  or
• 11:40
  whatever
• 11:40
  type
• 11:41
  of
• 11:41
  content
• 11:41
  you're
• 11:41
  creating.
• 11:42
  And
• 11:42
  web
• 11:42
  traffic.
• 11:43
  As
• 11:44
  you
• 11:44
  look
• 11:44
  at
• 11:44
  those,
• 11:44
  you
• 11:45
  should
• 11:45
  see
• 11:45
  an
• 11:45
  upward
• 11:46
  trend.
• 11:46
  It
• 11:46
  doesn't
• 11:46
  mean
• 11:46
  every
• 11:47
  single
• 11:47
  month
• 11:47
  it's
• 11:47
  gonna
• 11:47
  be
• 11:47
  better
• 11:48
  and
• 11:48
  it's
• 11:48
  not
• 11:48
  gonna
• 11:48
  be
• 11:48
  probably
• 11:49
  astronomical
• 11:49
  growth.
• 11:50
  But
• 11:50
  if
• 11:50
  you
• 11:50
  see
• 11:51
  an
• 11:51
  upward
• 11:51
  trend,
• 11:51
  then
• 11:51
  you
• 11:51
  know
• 11:52
  what
• 11:52
  you're
• 11:52
  doing
• 11:52
  is
• 11:53
  working.
• 11:53
  If
• 11:54
  you
• 11:54
  only
• 11:54
  ever
• 11:54
  look
• 11:54
  at
• 11:54
  revenue,
• 11:55
  you
• 11:55
  could
• 11:55
  have
• 11:55
  six
• 11:55
  months
• 11:56
  of
• 11:56
  no
• 11:56
  revenue
• 11:56
  and
• 11:57
  just
• 11:57
  feel
• 11:57
  so
• 11:57
  disheartened.
• 11:58
  You
• 11:58
  wanna
• 11:58
  give
• 11:58
  up.
• 11:59
  But
• 11:59
  you
• 11:59
  need
• 11:59
  to
• 11:59
  look
• 11:59
  at
• 12:00
  other
• 12:00
  metrics.
• 12:01
  Are
• 12:01
  you
• 12:01
  having
• 12:02
  more
• 12:02
  conversations
• 12:02
  with
• 12:02
  people?
• 12:03
  Are
• 12:03
  you
• 12:03
  getting
• 12:03
  replies?
• 12:05
  Are
• 12:05
  people
• 12:05
  clicking
• 12:06
  on
• 12:06
  your
• 12:06
  links?
• 12:07
  Are
• 12:07
  you
• 12:07
  building
• 12:07
  your
• 12:07
  own
• 12:07
  confidence?
• 12:08
  Sales
• 12:08
  aren't
• 12:09
  the
• 12:09
  only
• 12:09
  thing
• 12:09
  that
• 12:09
  matters,
• 12:10
  especially
• 12:10
  in
• 12:11
  the
• 12:11
  beginning
• 12:11
  years.
• 12:12
  Now
• 12:13
  when
• 12:13
  you
• 12:13
  look
• 12:14
  at
• 12:14
  your
• 12:14
  data
• 12:14
  and
• 12:14
  you're
• 12:14
  acknowledging
• 12:15
  that
• 12:15
  there
• 12:15
  is
• 12:15
  something
• 12:16
  that
• 12:16
  isn't
• 12:16
  working,
• 12:17
  change
• 12:17
  one
• 12:18
  thing
• 12:18
  at
• 12:19
  a
• 12:19
  time.
• 12:19
  If
• 12:19
  you
• 12:20
  change
• 12:20
  all
• 12:20
  the
• 12:20
  variables
• 12:21
  at
• 12:21
  once,
• 12:21
  you'll
• 12:21
  never
• 12:22
  know
• 12:22
  what's
• 12:22
  actually
• 12:22
  working.
• 12:23
  So
• 12:23
  let's
• 12:23
  take
• 12:23
  your
• 12:23
  email
• 12:24
  list,
• 12:24
  for
• 12:24
  example.
• 12:25
  Maybe
• 12:25
  it's
• 12:25
  not
• 12:25
  growing,
• 12:26
  so
• 12:26
  that
• 12:26
  means
• 12:26
  you
• 12:26
  need
• 12:26
  to
• 12:26
  go
• 12:26
  find
• 12:27
  more
• 12:27
  people.
• 12:28
  Don't
• 12:28
  try
• 12:28
  to
• 12:28
  promote
• 12:28
  your
• 12:28
  list.
• 12:29
  In
• 12:29
  five
• 12:29
  new
• 12:30
  places,
• 12:30
  just
• 12:30
  take
• 12:30
  one
• 12:31
  new
• 12:31
  place
• 12:31
  and
• 12:31
  see
• 12:32
  if
• 12:32
  that
• 12:32
  boosts
• 12:32
  it.
• 12:33
  And
• 12:33
  if
• 12:33
  that
• 12:33
  doesn't
• 12:33
  work
• 12:33
  after
• 12:34
  a
• 12:34
  few
• 12:34
  months,
• 12:34
  try
• 12:35
  a
• 12:35
  second
• 12:36
  new
• 12:36
  place
• 12:36
  to
• 12:36
  promote
• 12:37
  it.
• 12:37
  This
• 12:37
  is
• 12:37
  how
• 12:37
  we
• 12:37
  test,
• 12:38
  this
• 12:38
  is
• 12:38
  how
• 12:38
  we
• 12:38
  do
• 12:38
  that
• 12:38
  scientific
• 12:39
  method,
• 12:39
  one
• 12:40
  variable
• 12:40
  at
• 12:40
  a
• 12:40
  time.
• 12:41
  So
• 12:41
  you
• 12:42
  have
• 12:42
  to
• 12:42
  measure
• 12:42
  success
• 12:43
  at
• 12:43
  this
• 12:43
  point.
• 12:44
  With
• 12:45
  you
• 12:45
  just
• 12:45
  showing
• 12:45
  up
• 12:46
  each
• 12:46
  and
• 12:46
  every
• 12:46
  day,
• 12:47
  show
• 12:47
  up
• 12:47
  consistently.
• 12:48
  Keep
• 12:48
  track
• 12:48
  of
• 12:48
  those
• 12:48
  efforts
• 12:49
  monthly
• 12:49
  at
• 12:49
  least,
• 12:50
  so
• 12:50
  you
• 12:50
  don't
• 12:51
  cheat
• 12:51
  yourself.
• 12:51
  Don't
• 12:51
  tell
• 12:52
  yourself,
• 12:52
  oh,
• 12:52
  I'm
• 12:52
  making
• 12:52
  lots
• 12:53
  of
• 12:53
  offers,
• 12:53
  and
• 12:53
  you're
• 12:54
  not
• 12:54
  keeping
• 12:54
  track
• 12:54
  of
• 12:54
  it,
• 12:54
  so
• 12:54
  you
• 12:54
  don't
• 12:55
  actually
• 12:55
  know
• 12:55
  if
• 12:55
  you
• 12:55
  are.
• 12:56
  So
• 12:56
  make
• 12:56
  sure
• 12:56
  you're
• 12:56
  keeping
• 12:56
  track
• 12:57
  and
• 12:57
  then
• 12:57
  measure
• 12:58
  them.
• 12:58
  But
• 12:58
  then
• 12:59
  if
• 13:00
  it's
• 13:00
  not
• 13:00
  working
• 13:01
  for
• 13:01
  several
• 13:01
  months,
• 13:01
  don't
• 13:02
  keep
• 13:02
  doing
• 13:02
  things
• 13:02
  that
• 13:02
  don't
• 13:02
  work.
• 13:03
  I'd
• 13:03
  say
• 13:03
  every
• 13:04
  60
• 13:04
  to
• 13:04
  90
• 13:05
  days,
• 13:05
  look
• 13:05
  at
• 13:05
  what
• 13:05
  you've
• 13:06
  been
• 13:06
  doing.
• 13:06
  See
• 13:06
  if
• 13:06
  you
• 13:07
  see
• 13:07
  that
• 13:07
  upward
• 13:07
  trend.
• 13:07
  If
• 13:08
  not,
• 13:08
  shift
• 13:09
  to
• 13:09
  something
• 13:09
  else.
• 13:10
  The
• 13:10
  cool
• 13:11
  thing
• 13:11
  is
• 13:11
  the
• 13:11
  messy
• 13:12
  middle
• 13:12
  is
• 13:13
  kind
• 13:13
  of
• 13:13
  a
• 13:13
  special
• 13:13
  place.
• 13:14
  It
• 13:14
  takes
• 13:14
  a
• 13:15
  really
• 13:15
  motivated
• 13:16
  and
• 13:17
  dedicated
• 13:18
  business
• 13:18
  owner
• 13:18
  to
• 13:18
  keep
• 13:19
  going
• 13:19
  when
• 13:19
  it
• 13:19
  doesn't
• 13:20
  seem
• 13:20
  like
• 13:20
  there's
• 13:20
  any
• 13:20
  success.
• 13:21
  I
• 13:21
  like
• 13:21
  to
• 13:21
  call
• 13:22
  this
• 13:22
  the
• 13:22
  cocoon
• 13:22
  stage.
• 13:23
  It's
• 13:23
  kind
• 13:23
  of
• 13:23
  dark
• 13:24
  and
• 13:24
  quiet.
• 13:24
  Not
• 13:24
  a
• 13:24
  lot
• 13:25
  of
• 13:25
  noise,
• 13:25
  not
• 13:25
  a
• 13:25
  lot
• 13:25
  of
• 13:25
  sales,
• 13:26
  but
• 13:26
  it
• 13:27
  is
• 13:27
  full
• 13:27
  of
• 13:27
  transformation
• 13:28
  for
• 13:28
  you,
• 13:29
  for
• 13:29
  your
• 13:29
  business,
• 13:30
  for
• 13:30
  your
• 13:30
  mindset,
• 13:31
  all
• 13:31
  of
• 13:31
  it.
• 13:32
  So
• 13:33
  ask
• 13:33
  yourself
• 13:33
  these
• 13:33
  two
• 13:33
  questions.
• 13:34
  If
• 13:34
  you're
• 13:34
  struggling,
• 13:35
  what
• 13:35
  evidence
• 13:36
  do
• 13:36
  you
• 13:36
  have
• 13:36
  that
• 13:36
  you
• 13:37
  are
• 13:37
  growing?
• 13:37
  Again,
• 13:38
  look
• 13:38
  at
• 13:38
  those
• 13:38
  numbers.
• 13:39
  Are
• 13:39
  you
• 13:39
  getting
• 13:39
  subscribers?
• 13:40
  Are
• 13:41
  you
• 13:41
  having
• 13:41
  conversations
• 13:42
  with
• 13:42
  people?
• 13:43
  What
• 13:43
  is
• 13:43
  actually
• 13:43
  happening?
• 13:44
  That
• 13:44
  shows
• 13:45
  some
• 13:45
  sort
• 13:45
  of
• 13:45
  growth?
• 13:46
  And
• 13:46
  then
• 13:47
  the
• 13:47
  second
• 13:47
  question
• 13:47
  is,
• 13:48
  what
• 13:48
  story
• 13:48
  do
• 13:49
  you
• 13:49
  wanna
• 13:49
  tell
• 13:50
  about
• 13:50
  this
• 13:51
  messy
• 13:51
  middle?
• 13:52
  What
• 13:52
  do
• 13:52
  you
• 13:52
  wanna
• 13:52
  say
• 13:52
  about
• 13:53
  it
• 13:53
  someday?
• 13:54
  When
• 13:54
  I
• 13:54
  keep
• 13:54
  track
• 13:55
  of
• 13:55
  what
• 13:55
  I'm
• 13:55
  doing
• 13:55
  each
• 13:55
  week,
• 13:55
  it's
• 13:56
  so
• 13:56
  much
• 13:56
  easier
• 13:56
  to
• 13:56
  see
• 13:56
  how
• 13:57
  I'm
• 13:57
  actually
• 13:57
  growing.
• 13:57
  And
• 13:58
  then
• 13:58
  I
• 13:58
  can
• 13:58
  make
• 13:58
  up
• 13:58
  a
• 13:59
  story
• 13:59
  that
• 13:59
  I'll
• 13:59
  tell
• 14:00
  on
• 14:00
  stage
• 14:00
  someday,
• 14:00
  right?
• 14:00
  Like
• 14:01
  there
• 14:01
  was
• 14:01
  a
• 14:01
  time
• 14:02
  when
• 14:02
  I
• 14:02
  didn't
• 14:02
  have
• 14:02
  any
• 14:02
  money
• 14:03
  in
• 14:03
  my
• 14:03
  bank
• 14:03
  account
• 14:03
  and
• 14:04
  for
• 14:04
  months
• 14:04
  and
• 14:04
  months
• 14:05
  I
• 14:05
  just
• 14:05
  kept
• 14:05
  doing
• 14:06
  the
• 14:06
  things
• 14:06
  that
• 14:06
  seemed
• 14:07
  so
• 14:07
  boring
• 14:07
  and
• 14:07
  seemed
• 14:08
  like
• 14:08
  they
• 14:08
  didn't
• 14:08
  make
• 14:08
  any
• 14:08
  difference.
• 14:09
  And
• 14:09
  then
• 14:09
  all
• 14:09
  of
• 14:09
  a
• 14:09
  sudden
• 14:10
  I
• 14:10
  started
• 14:10
  to
• 14:10
  see
• 14:11
  progress.
• 14:11
  I
• 14:12
  made
• 14:12
  one
• 14:12
  sale,
• 14:12
  I
• 14:12
  made
• 14:13
  two
• 14:13
  sales.
• 14:13
  And
• 14:13
  again,
• 14:14
  not
• 14:14
  a
• 14:14
  straight
• 14:15
  upward
• 14:15
  trajectory.
• 14:15
  Generally
• 14:16
  you
• 14:17
  might
• 14:17
  have
• 14:17
  one
• 14:17
  month,
• 14:18
  that's
• 14:18
  fantastic.
• 14:18
  And
• 14:18
  then
• 14:19
  the
• 14:19
  next
• 14:19
  month,
• 14:19
  no
• 14:19
  sales
• 14:19
  again.
• 14:20
  That's
• 14:20
  okay.
• 14:21
  That's
• 14:21
  totally
• 14:22
  part
• 14:22
  of
• 14:22
  the
• 14:22
  messy
• 14:22
  middle.
• 14:23
  Requires
• 14:23
  faith
• 14:24
  every
• 14:24
  step
• 14:24
  of
• 14:24
  the
• 14:24
  way.
• 14:25
  So
• 14:25
  tell
• 14:25
  yourself
• 14:25
  that
• 14:26
  you're
• 14:26
  in
• 14:26
  the
• 14:26
  middle
• 14:27
  of
• 14:27
  a
• 14:27
  miracle
• 14:28
  of
• 14:28
  a
• 14:28
  transformation.
• 14:29
  That's
• 14:29
  gonna
• 14:29
  be
• 14:29
  so
• 14:29
  cool
• 14:30
  to
• 14:30
  see
• 14:30
  in
• 14:30
  the
• 14:30
  end.
• 14:31
  Just
• 14:31
  keep
• 14:31
  going.
• 14:32
  All
• 14:32
  right,
• 14:32
  so
• 14:32
  if
• 14:32
  you
• 14:32
  guys
• 14:32
  have
• 14:33
  a
• 14:33
  few
• 14:33
  minutes,
• 14:33
  jot
• 14:34
  down
• 14:34
  how
• 14:35
  you
• 14:35
  see
• 14:35
  evidence
• 14:36
  that
• 14:36
  you're
• 14:36
  growing
• 14:36
  maybe
• 14:37
  two
• 14:37
  or
• 14:37
  three
• 14:38
  ways.
• 14:39
  Anything
• 14:39
  that's
• 14:39
  going
• 14:39
  to
• 14:39
  help
• 14:40
  you
• 14:40
  keep
• 14:40
  moving
• 14:40
  forward.
• 14:41
  Even
• 14:42
  if
• 14:42
  it
• 14:42
  doesn't
• 14:42
  translate
• 14:42
  to
• 14:42
  revenue
• 14:43
  yet,
• 14:43
  what
• 14:43
  have
• 14:43
  you
• 14:44
  learned
• 14:44
  in
• 14:44
  the
• 14:44
  last
• 14:44
  few
• 14:45
  months?
• 14:45
  In
• 14:45
  what
• 14:45
  ways
• 14:46
  have
• 14:46
  you
• 14:46
  transformed,
• 14:47
  how
• 14:47
  have
• 14:47
  you
• 14:47
  actually
• 14:47
  grown
• 14:48
  towards
• 14:48
  that
• 14:48
  future?
• 14:49
  You
• 14:49
  who's
• 14:49
  going
• 14:49
  to
• 14:49
  be
• 14:49
  so
• 14:49
  successful?
• 14:50
