  Speaker 1: Hi, Catherine.
• 0:01
Speaker 2: Oh, hello Chelsea. It's come to my attention that you
• 0:06
Speaker 2: need a primer on substack.
• 0:07
Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I came to your attention because I told you, Catherine,
• 0:09
Speaker 3: so that I'm glad that I that it came to
• 0:11
  Speaker 3: your attention.
• 0:12
Speaker 1: I do need a primer on substack.
• 0:14
Speaker 2: So I would imagine a lot.
• 0:15
Speaker 1: I have a lot of my friends.
• 0:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, yes, and somehow I'm getting updates from subsack,
• 0:20
Speaker 3: but I don't remember ever, like joining, I like to
• 0:22
Speaker 3: limit my email intake, do you know what I mean?
• 0:24
Speaker 3: It's too many emails from too many places that I
• 0:26
Speaker 3: don't even I never signed up for.
• 0:28
Speaker 1: And all I do is unsubscribe, unsubscribed.
• 0:30
Speaker 2: Oh we have to have Carlos going and like unsubscribe
• 0:32
Speaker 2: from everything. Well, so substack is basically just like a
• 0:35
Speaker 2: fancy word for a newsletter. It's like a program where
• 0:39
Speaker 2: people can have stuff behind a paywall. So like they
• 0:41
Speaker 2: might have a free newsletter they send out, but you
• 0:43
Speaker 2: pay to get their podcasts or that sort of thing.
• 0:45
  Speaker 2: It's I mean, it's.
• 0:46
Speaker 3: So you can put a podcast on there that that's
• 0:48
Speaker 3: not available anywhere else, correct, correct, Yeah, and so you
• 0:51
Speaker 3: can sign up for like updates.
• 0:53
Speaker 2: It's sort of like a new cool version of a
• 0:54
  Speaker 2: newsletter that's salesy.
• 0:57
Speaker 1: But but why is our platform for that?
• 0:58
  Speaker 2: I don't know.
• 0:59
Speaker 3: Okay, okay, I don't understand anything. I'm losing my grip
• 1:04
Speaker 3: on reality. Yeah, that's okay.
• 1:06
  Speaker 4: You know what.
• 1:06
Speaker 2: We're just here to help you out with technology. I
• 1:09
Speaker 2: have an update from an episode that was a long
• 1:11
Speaker 2: time ago, so she wrote in. This is Alisa. She
• 1:16
Speaker 2: wrote in on our Heather Gay episode, So this is
• 1:18
Speaker 2: a while ago. She says, Hey, there, I was reminded
• 1:22
Speaker 2: today that I was on an episode in May twenty
• 1:25
Speaker 2: twenty three and wanted to give you an update. My
• 1:27
Speaker 2: question was how do I have casual sex when I
• 1:30
Speaker 2: can't make the first move? I shared that I was
• 1:32
Speaker 2: taking myself out on dates, sitting at the bar with
• 1:34
Speaker 2: a glass of wine and reading my book. I love
• 1:36
Speaker 2: Happy Hour and I love my own company. Well, I
• 1:39
Speaker 2: got asked out by a bartender. Lol. He's a massage
• 1:42
Speaker 2: therapist that works a couple shifts a week at the
• 1:44
Speaker 2: bar because he likes the social aspect of that work.
• 1:47
Speaker 2: We dated for a year and ended up breaking up
• 1:49
Speaker 2: because I wanted to know where things were going and
• 1:51
Speaker 2: he wasn't ready to think about a future with me.
• 1:54
Speaker 2: A year passed and I accepted a job offer in
• 1:56
Speaker 2: another province of Canada, big move to prepare for. While
• 2:00
Speaker 2: I was packing, my bartender declared his regrets and love
• 2:03
Speaker 2: for me. While cautious, I chose to give him a
• 2:05
Speaker 2: second chance, and we're currently in a committed long distance relationship.
• 2:09
Speaker 2: I love him very much, and he is, as he
• 2:12
Speaker 2: says quote, accepting the suffering of the consequences of his
• 2:15
Speaker 2: choices as he should. We'll figure out how we can
• 2:18
Speaker 2: be together after I finish a contract of two years.
• 2:20
  Speaker 2: Will I last that long? I don't know. I've never
• 2:23
Speaker 2: felt this way for someone, and I'm so comfortable with
• 2:25
Speaker 2: him for now. There are parts of living alone in
• 2:27
Speaker 2: the city that I love, and I shared with you
• 2:29
Speaker 2: before that I have a really good vibrator, so I'm
• 2:32
Speaker 2: good until we can figure it out. You are my community.
• 2:35
  Speaker 2: Much love, Alisa.
• 2:36
Speaker 1: What was the advice? This is like a journal entry?
• 2:39
Speaker 2: I mean, I know, but well, hey, at least she
• 2:42
Speaker 2: doesn't have to go out and have casual sex anymore,
• 2:44
Speaker 2: although maybe she wants to while she's got this boyfriend
• 2:46
  Speaker 2: back home.
• 2:47
Speaker 3: Did I tell her to go after it, to go
• 2:49
Speaker 3: get this guy did I tell her to have sex?
• 2:51
Speaker 2: I think we told her to like like make the
• 2:53
Speaker 2: person move more. Oh but then he did.
• 2:56
Speaker 3: Oh okay, yeah, okay, okay, so another okay, great, Well
• 2:59
Speaker 3: this is very anti climactic, Catherine, very anti climactic.
• 3:03
Speaker 2: Alisa, let us know what happens in two years.
• 3:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll talk to you and be specific about what
• 3:08
Speaker 3: the actual advice was. I don't remember what I fucking
• 3:10
Speaker 3: said to her. That was twenty twenty three, twenty twenty three,
• 3:13
  Speaker 3: aren't we.
• 3:13
Speaker 5: Just think the advice was about dating yourself. I think
• 3:16
Speaker 5: that's what you told her to do.
• 3:17
Speaker 4: Hold on, straight man, chiming in, Brad on the hold on,
• 3:20
Speaker 4: Brad is on the scene. Do you remember that Brad
• 3:23
Speaker 4: Cather is having it Catherine Cather, that's your name now, Caathra.
• 3:27
Speaker 4: Catherine is having an inner interoffice and inner office affair
• 3:32
  Speaker 4: with her husband.
• 3:33
Speaker 3: Brad, who is our sound engineer. And that's his voice
• 3:38
Speaker 3: that you're hearing. Thank you Brad for remembering. Yes, that
• 3:42
Speaker 3: sounds like it tracks Brad that I told her to
• 3:45
  Speaker 3: date herself.
• 3:46
  Speaker 2: We're we're at a studio where we've been coming for,
• 3:48
Speaker 2: you know, the last several weeks, and I gave him
• 3:50
Speaker 2: a a noodle here in the office, and I was like, wait,
• 3:52
Speaker 2: did the other people here know that we're married or
• 3:54
Speaker 2: do they think we just carpl we're married? In case
• 3:57
Speaker 2: you guys did not know. Okay, So I have another
• 4:00
Speaker 2: follow up. This is from a more recent episode with OTSCO.
• 4:03
Speaker 2: This was about a gal who her sister in law
• 4:06
Speaker 2: was like icing her out. There was like a B
• 4:08
Speaker 2: day party mishap where she didn't get invited to the
• 4:11
Speaker 2: niece's birthday party sort of thing. So she says, Hi,
• 4:15
Speaker 2: Chelsea for this. Yeah. Yeah, since we last spoke, I
• 4:18
Speaker 2: took your advice and had a conversation with my sister
• 4:20
Speaker 2: in law about what it was that had led her
• 4:23
Speaker 2: to cutting me off. The fact I should have mentioned
• 4:25
Speaker 2: from the start is that she is on the Orange team,
• 4:27
Speaker 2: if you know what I mean. Oh that took me
• 4:30
Speaker 2: a second on the Orange team, if you know what
• 4:32
Speaker 2: I mean. So the thought of having the conversation was
• 4:35
Speaker 2: extra daunting, knowing I would probably not be met where
• 4:38
Speaker 2: I was at. It turns out the reason she cut
• 4:40
Speaker 2: me off was because I didn't wait until I saw
• 4:42
Speaker 2: her in person to discuss the birthday issue, causing my
• 4:46
Speaker 2: sister in law to get defensive of her daughter. I
• 4:49
Speaker 2: still can't believe this is the reason for the cutoff. Wow.
• 4:52
Speaker 2: I ended the conversation amicably by saying I love her
• 4:55
Speaker 2: and her daughter and only want to be in their lives.
• 4:58
Speaker 2: I've seen her at events since this converse station, and
• 5:00
Speaker 2: things have been awkward, to say the least. I feel
• 5:02
Speaker 2: I've done all that I can, and I certainly appreciate
• 5:05
Speaker 2: the advice to confront the issue head on despite the
• 5:07
Speaker 2: weird ending to the story. If this was any other relationship,
• 5:10
Speaker 2: I would have been done with it all. But as
• 5:12
Speaker 2: Chelsea said, we're family, so hoping things will someday improve,
• 5:15
Speaker 2: but for now, I think we're at a standstill. Thank
• 5:17
Speaker 2: you for everything, Sarah.
• 5:19
Speaker 3: Yeah, well now you have to employ mel Robbins let them, Yes,
• 5:22
Speaker 3: let her do her thing and let you do your thing.
• 5:25
Speaker 3: And it's not your problem. You stepped up to the plate.
• 5:28
Speaker 3: You did what you're supposed to do. There's nothing else
• 5:30
  Speaker 3: you could.
• 5:30
Speaker 2: Do, right, And like, if that's her reasoning for being
• 5:33
  Speaker 2: up to that.
• 5:33
Speaker 1: With you, it's good.
• 5:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, when you're dealing with people like that are holding
• 5:37
Speaker 3: onto very small, petty things, there is no it's like
• 5:40
Speaker 3: it is like dealing with the terrorist on the other
• 5:42
Speaker 3: end of the spectrum.
• 5:43
Speaker 2: Yes, yes, and you can only like you know, like
• 5:45
Speaker 2: Chelsea said, you can only be irresponsible for how you're
• 5:48
Speaker 2: showing up, like show up with light and love and
• 5:50
Speaker 2: you know, if she wants to make grumpy, let her
• 5:52
Speaker 2: be grumpy. And that's fine.
• 5:53
Speaker 1: Exactly exactly. I concur Catherine, I can cur Catherine, I
• 5:57
  Speaker 1: concur excellent.
• 6:02
Speaker 2: We just have a couple of quickies today. So our
• 6:04
Speaker 2: first question comes from.
• 6:06
Speaker 1: Mag mag mag Maga Great.
• 6:10
Speaker 3: There's another MAGA now and Make America Gavin again. Gavin Newsom,
• 6:16
Speaker 3: how do you feel about Gavin Newsom? I'm into it
• 6:18
Speaker 3: good time. Yeah, yeah, you have to fight fire with fire.
• 6:21
Speaker 3: All these fucking idiots tiptoeing around going we're crying and
• 6:25
Speaker 3: doing now he's doing something and JB.
• 6:28
Speaker 1: Pritzker is that his name?
• 6:29
  Speaker 2: JB.
• 6:29
Speaker 3: Pritzker, the governor of Illinois and Wes Moore, all these
• 6:33
Speaker 3: guys need to fucking do this.
• 6:35
  Speaker 5: You know.
• 6:35
Speaker 2: It's like Donald train back real hard.
• 6:37
Speaker 1: They need to really go after him.
• 6:39
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 6:40
Speaker 1: So it's nice to see somebody fighting the fight.
• 6:42
Speaker 2: I agree. I think like the last few years, especially journalists,
• 6:46
Speaker 2: and it's like everyone's being so polite and like respectful
• 6:49
Speaker 2: and like disagreeing, but in this really respectful way.
• 6:52
Speaker 3: And it's like you just I know, you can't respect
• 6:54
Speaker 3: somebody who behaves this way and treats people in this way.
• 6:56
Speaker 1: It's disgusting, right well, mag.
• 6:59
Speaker 2: Says, Hey, Chelsea, as a twenty something who's just starting
• 7:02
Speaker 2: to dive into the dating pool, I wanted to know
• 7:04
Speaker 2: if you have any advice on dating multiple med at once?
• 7:07
  Speaker 5: Do it?
• 7:08
Speaker 2: She says. Is this a bitch move?
• 7:10
  Speaker 5: Now?
• 7:11
Speaker 2: If not, why do I feel bad about it? Meg?
• 7:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, no, date people only, do it? Absolutely.
• 7:15
Speaker 2: I was dating multiple people when I'm at Brad.
• 7:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. What's wrong with dating multiple people as.
• 7:20
Speaker 2: Long as everybody knows you're in the clear. Yeah, Like,
• 7:23
Speaker 2: we're not not exclusive, not interested in being exclusive right now,
• 7:27
Speaker 2: and then if one grows on you like Brad did,
• 7:29
  Speaker 2: then you know.
• 7:30
Speaker 3: Exactly, then you can eliminate the other gentleman callers. But
• 7:33
Speaker 3: I absolutely do not, like there's nothing wrong with that.
• 7:36
Speaker 2: Also, like, who's got time to date one person at
• 7:38
Speaker 2: a time anymore? No, keep it coming, keep it coming.
• 7:42
Speaker 1: Fresh meat, every hour on the hour, and that way you.
• 7:45
Speaker 2: Don't feel like, Okay, I just sunk two months into
• 7:47
Speaker 2: this guy and he ghosted me or whatever. You know,
• 7:50
Speaker 2: got people in the back burner. Our next question comes
• 7:54
Speaker 2: from LC, So I know you ditched your tesla, so
• 7:59
Speaker 2: this is about ditching her tesla. Dear Chelsea, As a
• 8:01
Speaker 2: fellow Tesla owner, I'm feeling deeply conflicted these days, not
• 8:05
Speaker 2: because my car is judging me, but because my subconscious
• 8:08
Speaker 2: won't shut up about it. Given the current political climate
• 8:11
Speaker 2: and the ongoing elon Trump saga, should I ditch my
• 8:14
Speaker 2: tesla or are we just supposed to drive around pretending
• 8:17
Speaker 2: it's an ultra fast self driving moral dilemma. Would love
• 8:20
Speaker 2: to hear your take, Elsie.
• 8:22
Speaker 1: I'm all for ditching the Tesla.
• 8:23
Speaker 2: Yeah, because you ditched yours.
• 8:24
  Speaker 1: R I ditched mine.
• 8:25
Speaker 3: My sister's waiting for her lease to be up, so
• 8:28
Speaker 3: she's not ditching hers.
• 8:29
Speaker 1: And I have judgment towards that.
• 8:31
Speaker 3: I feel like you have to stand on principles, like
• 8:33
Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Like you have to have principles and you
• 8:35
Speaker 3: have to follow through with them.
• 8:36
Speaker 1: And this he doesn't deserve your money.
• 8:39
Speaker 2: No, agreed. And I mean I do think with some
• 8:41
Speaker 2: people who maybe haven't given those back, they have that sticker.
• 8:44
Speaker 1: This is like first of all the truck, the fiber truck. Yeah,
• 8:47
Speaker 1: I thought those all got recalled. Why do I keep
• 8:49
  Speaker 1: seeing that?
• 8:50
Speaker 2: That's what I thought too. I mean there was some
• 8:52
Speaker 2: some part at least that got recalled, and all of them,
• 8:54
  Speaker 2: Brad will know.
• 8:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, Brad, Brad, where are you a straight man?
• 8:58
Speaker 5: You talking about the cyber truck?
• 8:59
  Speaker 2: Yeah?
• 9:00
Speaker 1: If we got recalled, well.
• 9:02
Speaker 5: I think they just have an excess of inventory. I
• 9:04
Speaker 5: think they just have like one hundred thousand vehicles that
• 9:07
Speaker 5: they can't sell, so they're just sitting in parking lots everywhere.
• 9:09
Speaker 2: Well, wasn't there like like some.
• 9:11
Speaker 1: But there was an issue where they had to recall them.
• 9:14
Speaker 5: I'm sure there's tons of recalls.
• 9:16
Speaker 2: Why do we know about this and you don't you're
• 9:17
  Speaker 2: a car guy?
• 9:18
  Speaker 5: Well, because it's a Tesla's.
• 9:22
Speaker 3: Way to miss, way to misrepresent yourself and this podcast.
• 9:26
Speaker 2: Brad, what a disappointment. All right, good bye, Brad tried. Sorry, Well,
• 9:31
Speaker 2: on that note, we can go ahead and wrap up.
• 9:33
Speaker 3: Okay, Well, don't buy a Tesla and if you have one,
• 9:36
Speaker 3: return ite. I just announced all my tour dates. They
• 9:39
Speaker 3: just went on sale. It's called the High and Mighty Tour.
• 9:42
Speaker 3: I will be starting in February of next year, so
• 9:46
Speaker 3: I will be touring from February through June. So go
