When you're ready to pay, you say: ሂሳቡን እባክህ. Luna: ሂሳቡን እባክህ. That's 'the bill, please'? Lucas: Exactly. ሂሳብ means 'bill' or 'account', and እባክህ means 'please' when talking to a guy. If you're talking to a woman, you'd say እባክሽ. But let's keep it simple for now. Luna: Got it. So I'd just say ሂሳቡን እባክህ to the waiter. Lucas: Perfect. Now, if you want to ask how much it is, you say: ሂሳቡ ስንት ነው? Luna: ሂሳቡ ስንት ነው? That's 'how much is the bill?' Lucas: Exactly. And you already know ስንት from the market, so this is a nice combo. Luna: I love when things click together. But what if I want to pay with a card? I always forget the word. Lucas: Card is ካርድ. So you'd say: በካርድ እከፍላለሁ. That means 'I'll pay by card.' That means 'I'll pay' or 'I'll cover it.' Luna: እኔ እከፍላለሁ. I'll remember that for when I'm feeling generous. Lucas: And if you need a receipt, you can ask: እባክህ ደረሰኝ ስጠኝ.
