AI may not eliminate the career ladder. It may simply move the first rung.

Much of traditional entry-level work involved drafting, summarizing, formatting, researching and other repetitive tasks. AI can now do a lot of that work.

So the harder question is: How does a beginner become experienced if much of the beginner work disappears?

My argument is that apprenticeship has to change. The valuable beginner will increasingly be someone who can use AI, supervise it, challenge it, catch its mistakes and apply the judgment needed to decide whether the final answer is actually any good.
