- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, hey, it's the final hour, three hours every day now,
- 0:03Speaker 1: nine to noon. Let's see if President Trump has finally
- 0:08Speaker 1: responded to Lindsey Clancy's lawyer. Remember, the lawyer asked President
- 0:14Speaker 1: Trump to pardon her. He asked for a presidential pardon.
- 0:18Speaker 1: The lawyer was kind of a bumbling old lawyer. He
- 0:22Speaker 1: hasn't had a very good track record. Somehow he stumbled
- 0:25Speaker 1: into this case and he got lucky here. He pulled
- 0:28Speaker 1: it off so far. But President Trump explaining to the
- 0:32Speaker 1: lawyer that he has no power to pardon her. It's
- 0:36Speaker 1: a state case. It's a local case. The president can
- 0:39Speaker 1: pardon on federal cases and federal charges, but it's a
- 0:44Speaker 1: local criminal case and he doesn't have the power to
- 0:46Speaker 1: pardon it. You would think a lawyer wouldn't need that
- 0:50Speaker 1: explained to him, but apparently this guy does. Hey, good
- 0:54Speaker 1: for Ed Sheeran. He's been on tour, stadiums, big stadiums
- 0:59Speaker 1: all over the world. Macklemore was on the tour. Macklemore
- 1:04Speaker 1: going into these ugly, disgusting, anti-Israel rants. Many venues refusing
- 1:11Speaker 1: to allow him to perform. So Ed Sheeran has thrown
- 1:14Speaker 1: him off the tour. He's out. But I don't know
- 1:19Speaker 1: how much of it was Ed Sheeran and how much
- 1:21Speaker 1: of it was the venues saying we're not going to
- 1:23Speaker 1: allow him to perform. So good news, though, is he's
- 1:28Speaker 1: gone off the tour. That's important. The Emmy Awards are tonight.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I don't know anybody who actually cares. I don't know
- 1:37Speaker 1: anybody who actually still watches the Emmy Awards. It'll be
- 1:40Speaker 1: on NBC at 8 o'clock. I don't know if anybody
- 1:43Speaker 1: pays any attention to it anymore. Usually you try to
- 1:46Speaker 1: get a comedian to host, keep it lively, keep it fun,
- 1:50Speaker 1: but I don't think any comedian wants to host the
- 1:52Speaker 1: Emmy Awards, so it's going to be Marissa Haggerty. who
- 1:56Speaker 1: is on Law & Order for 100 years and looks it.
- 1:58Speaker 1: But the problem is you used to get the biggest star.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Johnny Carson would host the Emmys. Bob Hope would do
- 2:08Speaker 1: the Oscars. These were enormous superstars that everybody knew. But
- 2:12Speaker 1: there's no such thing anymore. No such thing anymore. Marissa Hargaday,
- 2:16Speaker 1: when she walks out on stage, it's going to be
- 2:19Speaker 1: mostly older people watching, but if it was an audience
- 2:22Speaker 1: like nobody under 30, 40, would know who she is.
- 2:26Speaker 1: And nobody watches all these different shows. There's too many shows.
- 2:30Speaker 1: There's thousands and thousands and thousands of shows. It's not
- 2:34Speaker 1: like the 1980s or even the 90s where everybody saw
- 2:38Speaker 1: Seinfeld and the next day you could all talk about it.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Or everybody saw Cheers. We all knew who Norm and
- 2:44Speaker 1: Cliff were. Or everybody back then saw Law & Order.
- 2:50Speaker 1: And you knew who Jerry Orbach was. Today it's all splintered.
- 2:56Speaker 1: There's 400 shows currently streaming. I don't care who you
- 3:00Speaker 1: talk to, whatever show they're watching, you never heard of.
- 3:03Speaker 1: When you tell them about your show, they never heard
- 3:05Speaker 1: of it. So it's tough to do the Emmys tonight.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Very tough to watch. Tune in for a second, but
- 3:11Speaker 1: you won't know what's going on. Hey, remember we told
- 3:14Speaker 1: you Hunter Biden came out with this crypto, this crypto coin.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It was a money-making scheme. I guess nobody's buying the
- 3:23Speaker 1: paintings anymore. And people invested like crazy and lost a fortune.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Four out of five investors got wiped out by his crypto.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Some mystery trader got in at just the right second
- 3:39Speaker 1: and got out at just the right second and got
- 3:42Speaker 1: a million bucks. But outside of that, everybody lost everything,
- 3:45Speaker 1: got wiped out. The name of the coin is Laptop.
- 3:49Speaker 1: This guy's got a lot of nerve. You got to
- 3:51Speaker 1: give him that, Laptop. He might as well have called
- 3:56Speaker 1: the coin drug addict. Crack addict. Anyway, he's trying to
- 4:03Speaker 1: explain what happened. He said the issue became... He said
- 4:07Speaker 1: it was a F-up. He used the actual F-word. Biden
- 4:12Speaker 1: claimed the issue began shortly after trading started on Wednesday
- 4:16Speaker 1: because the project's market maker supplied significantly less liquidity than
- 4:21Speaker 1: needed to handle the initial demand. Yeah, in other words...
- 4:24Speaker 1: It's Hunter Biden. Whoever made that million real fast, probably
- 4:28Speaker 1: somebody connected with him. It was all a scheme. It
- 4:32Speaker 1: bombed completely. That's the end of it. Hey, if you
- 4:36Speaker 1: live in Long Island, I'm sure you know Ohika Castle.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Ohika Castle was built by Gus Kahn, and it's like
- 4:44Speaker 1: a Great Gatsby Castle. Where is that exactly? Is that Woodbury?
- 4:48Speaker 1: I think it's Woodbury. And it's been there for a
- 4:51Speaker 1: hundred years and it's got incredible grounds. It's a big castle.
- 4:55Speaker 1: It's kind of run down. The guy that owns it's
- 4:58Speaker 1: a sort of a shabby guy who let it, uh, uh,
- 5:01Speaker 1: it's a little run down, but it's still a big, uh,
- 5:04Speaker 1: they've got a restaurant there, but it's a big venue
- 5:06Speaker 1: for weddings, for all sorts of stuff. They got hotel
- 5:09Speaker 1: rooms there too. Anthony, uh, uh, um, well, there were
- 5:15Speaker 1: a lot of famous weddings there. Uh, A number of celebrities,
- 5:19Speaker 1: a lot of parties there. It's up for auction. The
- 5:24Speaker 1: owner is in bankruptcy. He said the debt's too heavy.
- 5:28Speaker 1: He can't carry it. So if you want, Oheka Castle.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Concierge Auctions will be auctioning it off October 27th. The
- 5:36Speaker 1: auction will be in person or virtually in New York City.
- 5:42Speaker 1: The owner says he owes about $ 60 million in investment to...
- 5:48Speaker 1: to the investment firm Takana Capital hands it. So if
- 5:51Speaker 1: you like Oheka Castle, it's going to be auctioned off
- 5:54Speaker 1: October 27th. We've got a lot of wealthy listeners here.
- 5:57Speaker 1: A lot of wealthy listeners. If you want to buy it,
- 6:00Speaker 1: it's up for auction. So take a look at it. Now,
- 6:04Speaker 1: the price of oil is spiking. It was pretty good
- 6:07Speaker 1: throughout this Iran conflict. And it would go up a little.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Not much, but now it's spiking. It's $ 103 a gallon.
- 6:13Speaker 1: That's spiking. That's high. That's the WTI, which is what
- 6:19Speaker 1: we use. America uses WTI. That's West Texas oil. The world,
- 6:25Speaker 1: a lot of the rest of the world, uses Brent crude.
- 6:28Speaker 1: That is now $ 108. So this is very, very high.
- 6:31Speaker 1: You're going to see the price of oil go up
- 6:34Speaker 1: in the next week or two. Not good for the president,
- 6:39Speaker 1: but when this is over, it'll come crashing down. Same
- 6:43Speaker 1: thing happened during the Iraq war. It went up this high,
- 6:46Speaker 1: and then when it was over, It came crashing down
- 6:49Speaker 1: to like $ 42 a gallon, which is incredibly low. Hey,
- 6:53Speaker 1: for our Myrtle Beach listeners, we have a lot of
- 6:55Speaker 1: listeners in Myrtle Beach. Our caller, who we love, Rich
- 6:58Speaker 1: from Myrtle Beach, kept complaining it's going to be 100 today.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And he's done that a few times. Many of them
- 7:04Speaker 1: writing in saying it's not 100. It's going to be
- 7:07Speaker 1: 92 today. That's the high. It's never hit 100 all summer. Yeah,
- 7:11Speaker 1: I'm looking at the Myrtle Beach weather. 92 today. Mid-80s
- 7:15Speaker 1: the rest of the week. So it's not. that high
- 7:18Speaker 1: hey legionnaires disease outbreak in the bronx and now an
- 7:22Speaker 1: outbreak at yankee stadium although the yankees say they've cleaned
- 7:25Speaker 1: it up they've got rid of the legionnaires in the
- 7:30Speaker 1: cooling tower so they've eliminated that uh that's a dangerous
- 7:35Speaker 1: place for it because it's airborne and you got 50
- 7:39Speaker 1: 000 people sitting right there so far no reports of
- 7:43Speaker 1: any cases so that's good Hey, the crazy New York Times,
- 7:48Speaker 1: which is the most inaccurate fake news, total fake news,
- 7:55Speaker 1: they just make up crap. And then when they're not
- 7:58Speaker 1: making up crap, they do these totally biased pieces. So
- 8:03Speaker 1: there's a 35-year-old guy. He's like a vendor, a sidewalk vendor.
- 8:09Speaker 1: He may be here illegally. I'm not sure. But the
- 8:12Speaker 1: New York Times went and did a profile on him.
- 8:14Speaker 1: He's 35. And it was a gushing, flattering profile of
- 8:18Speaker 1: this guy. And it's illegal what he does on the street.
- 8:22Speaker 1: It's like an illegal street market. And he hawks stuff,
- 8:27Speaker 1: sells off stuff. Illegal vendor on the street, not licensed.
- 8:31Speaker 1: And supposedly it's for goodwill. It's for charity, sells clothes
- 8:35Speaker 1: for charity. Stands right in front of the Goodwill store.
- 8:39Speaker 1: And the New York Times did a wonderful glowing piece
- 8:42Speaker 1: on what a saint this guy is, what a wonderful
- 8:44Speaker 1: guy this guy is. He's part of a regular vending operation.
- 8:49Speaker 1: It's a bunch of rogue, pretty much illegal, totally illegal,
- 8:53Speaker 1: crooked vending operation. They actually call it hoodwill because the
- 8:57Speaker 1: truth is they con people. Good Samaritans drop off clothes
- 9:01Speaker 1: and shoes thinking it's going to charity, going to goodwill.
- 9:04Speaker 1: It's not. It's a whole con operation. But the New
- 9:08Speaker 1: York Times didn't say that. They made it sound like
- 9:11Speaker 1: this is a wonderful guy. They promoted him. They urged
- 9:14Speaker 1: people to go see him. They talked about him like
- 9:17Speaker 1: he was just wonderful and gushing all over the guy.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Not only is it an illegal operation and they don't
- 9:22Speaker 1: give the money to charity, but it turns out the
- 9:25Speaker 1: guy himself is a registered high-risk sex offender with a
- 9:30Speaker 1: long rap sheet. They forgot to mention that in the story. Now,
- 9:33Speaker 1: the New York Times is conceding that they now realize
- 9:39Speaker 1: he's a crook, he's a sex offender, he's a criminal
- 9:42Speaker 1: with a past, so they're They're not apologizing, but they
- 9:46Speaker 1: are confessing to it a little. Bill Maher, good for him.
- 9:52Speaker 1: He's going after the media. You know, there's, there was,
- 9:55Speaker 1: as Michael Goodwin was talking about at the last hour,
- 9:57Speaker 1: trying to weaponize 9-11, trying to use it against Trump,
- 10:01Speaker 1: trying to pretend there's all kinds of, uh, anti-Muslim problems
- 10:04Speaker 1: going on. They're not. If you look at the, uh,
- 10:07Speaker 1: hate crimes and attacks, it's almost all against Jews, not Muslims. Uh,
- 10:12Speaker 1: but Bill Maher going after the media for refusing to
- 10:15Speaker 1: call the 9-11 attacks terrorism. Uh, Told you last week,
- 10:21Speaker 1: the Canadian broadcasting, the CBC, the big network of Canada,
- 10:25Speaker 1: ordered the people not to call it terrorism, to call
- 10:28Speaker 1: it a plane hijacking, a hijacking that ended in a
- 10:33Speaker 1: plane crash. They're not allowed to say terrorism. Well, it
- 10:36Speaker 1: turns out the BBC, pretty much the same thing. The
- 10:39Speaker 1: BBC does not want to call it terrorism. According to
- 10:44Speaker 1: the BBC, it's a barrier to understanding.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And as Mars says, it's a barrier to understanding lying.
- 10:52Speaker 1: And good for him going after the media who just
- 10:54Speaker 1: refused to, I mean, can you imagine? They're always trying
- 10:59Speaker 1: to rewrite history. But to rewrite 9-11, I mean, that's
- 11:03Speaker 1: the one thing you can't argue with. Speaking of 9-11,
- 11:07Speaker 1: at the ceremony on Friday, Rudy Giuliani was seen shaking
- 11:11Speaker 1: hands with Mamdani. Giuliani said, you know, people are moving along.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And all of a sudden, next thing you know, he's
- 11:17Speaker 1: facing the guy. And Mamdani put his hand out to
- 11:20Speaker 1: shake hands, and Giuliani said, it was the right thing
- 11:25Speaker 1: to do. You're at the 9-11 ceremony. He can't get
- 11:27Speaker 1: rude with anybody. So he said it was just the
- 11:31Speaker 1: appropriate thing to do. So he shook his hand. But
- 11:33Speaker 1: they were seen talking. What did he actually say to him?
- 11:36Speaker 1: He said, I said to him, I said to Mamdani,
- 11:39Speaker 1: I pray for you all the time. And he said
- 11:42Speaker 1: Mamdani responded by saying, thank you. Ha! But they got
- 11:48Speaker 1: these body language people and these lip readers who studied
- 11:51Speaker 1: the video. And they said Giuliani's eyebrows are up. They
- 11:56Speaker 1: go up in recognition and acknowledgement. But his frown grows
- 12:01Speaker 1: the longer they shake hands. He said you could see
- 12:04Speaker 1: he wasn't happy about the connection. Hey, Ilhan Omar, Justice Department,
- 12:10Speaker 1: the Department of Homeland Security Secretary, Mark Wayne Mullen said,
- 12:15Speaker 1: It appears to them she did marry her brother. She
- 12:19Speaker 1: married her brother as part of an alleged fraudulent immigration
- 12:23Speaker 1: scheme and can face deportation. So they're working on that.
- 12:26Speaker 1: This brother now lives in London. Omar became a citizen
- 12:32Speaker 1: in 2000. You know, she was only 17 at the time.
- 12:35Speaker 1: But they believe she did indeed marry her brother. They
- 12:38Speaker 1: will try to get her out of the country based
- 12:41Speaker 1: on that. And that should happen. The wheels of justice
- 12:45Speaker 1: grind very, very slowly. So it should happen at some point.
- 12:51Speaker 1: So what's the toughest place to buy a house right now?
- 12:54Speaker 1: Like where the demand is the greatest. Like if you
- 12:55Speaker 1: wanted to move there, you'd have a lot of trouble
- 12:58Speaker 1: finding a house. Toughest place in America right now to
- 13:01Speaker 1: find a house. Demand is so great and the supply
- 13:04Speaker 1: is running out. Where is it? No, it's not Florida.
- 13:10Speaker 1: It's the New York City suburbs. The New York City suburbs,
- 13:14Speaker 1: people are moving out like crazy. And the number one
- 13:18Speaker 1: is Long Island. Long Island homeowners, if you're trying to
- 13:20Speaker 1: sell a home right now, very easy. People are fleeing
- 13:24Speaker 1: the city to the suburbs, to Long Island. Long Island
- 13:28Speaker 1: just got the most, crowned the single strongest seller's market
- 13:33Speaker 1: anywhere in the country right now, Nassau County especially. Biggest sellers,
- 13:38Speaker 1: biggest demand. People want to get out of the city,
- 13:41Speaker 1: be near Manhattan. and Long Island, number one there. Hey,
- 13:45Speaker 1: we'll take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number. Give
- 13:51Speaker 1: me a call, especially if you're a new caller. We
- 13:52Speaker 1: like to hear from new callers. Call me now, 800-321-0710
- 13:54Speaker 1: on 710WOR. Well, let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Let's go to Frank in South Carolina. Frank, how are
- 14:03Speaker 1: you doing?
- 14:13Speaker 2: I'm good.
- 14:13Speaker 3: How are you?
- 14:14Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I just want to call and give you accolades on
- 14:19Speaker 2: the news that you broadcast, especially coming from your area.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I'm surprised to hear it and happy to hear it.
- 14:26Speaker 2: You guys are doing an excellent job, and I appreciate it.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Why do you mean you're surprised? We've got plenty of
- 14:31Speaker 1: normal people here.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Well, you know, New York, from what I hear down here,
- 14:36Speaker 2: New York is not very.
- 14:39Speaker 5: Red state.
- 14:40Speaker 1: No, but a lot of normal people. Have you ever
- 14:43Speaker 1: been to New York?
- 14:45Speaker 2: I've never been to the city. I went to Rochester
- 14:48Speaker 2: once a long, long, long time ago.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Oh, that's not the same thing. Come up here one day.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Walk around.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I've been in Greenville, South Carolina all my life.
- 14:59Speaker 1: All right. Well, good for Colin. Thanks for a great call. Thanks, Frank.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Take care. Let's go to Chris in Long Island. Chris,
- 15:07Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 15:10Speaker 2: Hi, Mark.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Yes, Chris.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Got another celebrity airport for you.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Okay.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I'll give you a clue. He was the president of
- 15:22Speaker 2: the United States.
- 15:25Speaker 6: And he was from Missouri.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Well, that's not a celebrity. You mean Harry Truman?
- 15:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 15:32Speaker 3: But you mentioned.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that's a little different. As we said, a
- 15:36Speaker 1: lot of airports are named for presidents. And there's a
- 15:39Speaker 1: whole bunch of airports named for senators. And there's a
- 15:41Speaker 1: bunch of airports named for military people. But for a celebrity,
- 15:45Speaker 1: a show business celebrity, to have an airport, very unusual.
- 15:48Speaker 1: World's shortest list. They just voted in Tennessee to name
- 15:52Speaker 1: the airport after Dolly Parton. But it's a short list.
- 15:54Speaker 1: John Lennon Airport, Liverpool. John Wayne Airport, Orange County, California.
- 16:01Speaker 1: There's a Bob Hope Airport in California. There's a Louis
- 16:05Speaker 1: Armstrong Airport in New Orleans. But that's about it. Be
- 16:08Speaker 1: a celebrity, have an airport named after you. Very short list.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Let's go to Silk in Massachusetts. Silk, how are you doing?
- 16:19Speaker 7: Good. I enjoy listening to you. I know you have
- 16:23Speaker 7: Massachusetts connections.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Yes.
- 16:26Speaker 7: Forty years ago, a case that got no publicity, I
- 16:30Speaker 7: was appointed, paid $ 1, 000 to defend a murder case. involving
- 16:38Speaker 7: a man who strangled his girlfriend. He was found not
- 16:43Speaker 7: guilty by reason of insanity after testifying, had a wonderful judge,
- 16:51Speaker 7: wonderful prosecutor, wonderful jury, and a good defense attorney, me.
- 16:58Speaker 1: That was you. Well, you did a good job. What
- 17:00Speaker 1: about since then? Have you been doing any more cases?
- 17:04Speaker 7: No, I'm 98 years old.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Wow, God bless you.
- 17:08Speaker 7: I'm still a member of the bar, but the case
- 17:13Speaker 7: got no publicity, and the newspapers, the media, didn't like
- 17:19Speaker 7: the result. But everybody is dead except me. He was
- 17:28Speaker 7: released after going from one state hospital to another And
- 17:34Speaker 7: then he was on the street. Three years later, he
- 17:40Speaker 7: died of a brain tumor.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Oh, all right. Well, Silk, you did a great job.
- 17:44Speaker 1: You sound like it was an incredible case. Good job.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. Let's go to Will in Somerset. Will,
- 17:52Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 17:54Speaker 3: Pretty good, Mark.
- 17:54Speaker 4: How are you?
- 17:55Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 17:55Speaker 4: So talk about airports with celebrity names.
- 18:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Santa Rosa, California, which is about 45 minutes north of
- 18:04Speaker 4: San Francisco, is named after Charles Schultz, the cartoonist.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Really? I didn't know that. All right, there's another one.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Charles Schultz. Charles Schultz got an airport? He got an
- 18:14Speaker 1: airport named after him? What the hell were they?
- 18:17Speaker 4: In fact, if you go there, there's a couple of
- 18:19Speaker 4: bronze statues of peanut characters out in front of the building.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Really?
- 18:23Speaker 1: All right. But the people of a certain age, younger people,
- 18:26Speaker 1: must be landing there going, who the hell is Charles Schultz?
- 18:28Speaker 3: Right.
- 18:30Speaker 1: He must be from there to get the airport named
- 18:32Speaker 1: after him.
- 18:32Speaker 3: No, actually, I'm not.
- 18:33Speaker 4: I'm from New York. I was born in Staten Island.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Schultz must be from there.
- 18:37Speaker 4: I have friends out there that I flew in there
- 18:40Speaker 4: a couple times.
- 18:41Speaker 1: All right. Well, thanks for calling. Let's go to Lou, Union,
- 18:46Speaker 1: New Jersey. Lou, how are you doing?
- 18:48Speaker 6: Yeah, good morning, Mark.
- 18:49Speaker 5: The girl who's hosting the Emmy tonight, wasn't her mother
- 18:53Speaker 5: Jane Mansfield, she got killed in a car accident many
- 18:56Speaker 5: years ago?
- 18:57Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely right. Marissa Hargitay, who's on Law & Order.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Father was Mickey Hargitay, who was married to Jane Mansfield.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I think it was him that was, he was the
- 19:07Speaker 1: one driving, and they were in a terrible car accident.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Jane Mansfield died very young. She got decapitated, I believe,
- 19:13Speaker 1: in that car accident.
- 19:15Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 19:16Speaker 1: So Marissa Hargitay, you know, if you watch the old
- 19:18Speaker 1: Law & Order reruns, she was pretty hot, that Marissa Hargitay.
- 19:22Speaker 1: If you look at her now, a little different nowadays,
- 19:27Speaker 1: but still going strong. She's on Law & Order. Anyway,
- 19:30Speaker 1: let's go to Al in Yonkers. Al, how are you doing?
- 19:34Speaker 4: Good, Mark.
- 19:35Speaker 5: Mark, I want to say if you agree, you know,
- 19:37Speaker 5: in New York, when after 9-11, Mayor Giuliani could have
- 19:40Speaker 5: pushed the limit with term limits, but being an honorable
- 19:44Speaker 5: person that he is, he didn't. in chicago they don't
- 19:47Speaker 5: have term limits in their brand in uh... john said
- 19:50Speaker 5: he was going to run again. And one of his predecessors,
- 19:54Speaker 5: one of the Daly sons, he served for way too long.
- 19:57Speaker 5: Don't you believe Chicago should have term limits for mayor?
- 20:01Speaker 1: Absolutely. I think everybody should have term limits. You know,
- 20:03Speaker 1: that was really Netanyahu's problem. You know, he's a great
- 20:06Speaker 1: leader and beloved, but then he became They always say
- 20:09Speaker 1: when you get in your fourth term, you're always going
- 20:10Speaker 1: to get hated. It always happens. Ed Koch was a
- 20:14Speaker 1: great example. People loved him. But Koch said, once you
- 20:17Speaker 1: get into that third term, they start to turn on you.
- 20:19Speaker 1: And your fourth term, they hate you. It's just too much. Yeah, no, Giuliani,
- 20:25Speaker 1: I think he knew there was no way to get
- 20:26Speaker 1: a third term. It was impossible. Bloomberg was able to
- 20:29Speaker 1: pull it off because he was a billionaire with endless
- 20:32Speaker 1: money and resources, spent a fortune. to get himself uh...
- 20:36Speaker 1: another term but that was not easy to do let's
- 20:39Speaker 1: go to uh... vincent brooklyn vincent how you doing.
- 20:43Speaker 6: Good morning mark mark thanks for bringing up the problem
- 20:46Speaker 6: of all these illegal street vendors but even more importantly
- 20:51Speaker 6: over here in bay ridge on fourth avenue and thirty
- 20:54Speaker 6: six street the subway line which is uh... it's a
- 20:57Speaker 6: very big junction point there's a lot of connections over
- 21:00Speaker 6: there i've seen this woman there several times She has
- 21:05Speaker 6: a fold-up table. She has a fold-up table. She's a
- 21:08Speaker 6: Mexican woman. And she's selling pre-prepared food and drinks on
- 21:12Speaker 6: the platform. And she's doing a booming business. And when
- 21:16Speaker 6: I saw it, she's unscathed. I've never seen a police
- 21:21Speaker 6: officer go over and question her. You know, ask her
- 21:24Speaker 6: for her food vendor's license. And more importantly, like when
- 21:28Speaker 6: you buy food off of a food truck, they have
- 21:31Speaker 6: a Department of Health, a Board of Health inspection certificate.
- 21:36Speaker 6: I'm saying to myself, who knows where this food was
- 21:40Speaker 6: prepared and what filthy rat and cockroach-infested kitchen or cellar.
- 21:46Speaker 6: I remember years ago, they posted a whole expose about
- 21:51Speaker 6: some food trucks that were coming in from Jersey and
- 21:56Speaker 6: going to Times Square on 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue.
- 22:00Speaker 6: They were preparing the food in these garages in Jersey.
- 22:05Speaker 1: That's a very good point. You really got to be careful.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Don't buy any food from any place like that. You're right.
- 22:10Speaker 1: It's dangerous. Vincent, great call. We got to go to
- 22:14Speaker 1: the news because coming up next, Bruce Blakeman, the next
- 22:17Speaker 1: governor of New York, Bruce Blakeman. We'll talk to him.
- 22:21Speaker 1: We'll get the latest on the race coming up on 710WOR. Well,
- 22:26Speaker 1: Bruce Blakeman should be the next governor of New York.
- 22:30Speaker 1: He's been the county executive in Nassau County for years.
- 22:33Speaker 1: That's a job that's pretty similar to governor. He's considered
- 22:36Speaker 1: the best county executive in America. Now, you can help him.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Go to BlakemanForNewYork.com. Donate. Volunteer. Go to BlakemanForNewYork.com. Bruce Blakeman,
- 22:47Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 22:49Speaker 3: We're doing great, Mark. Our campaign has really hit its stride.
- 22:53Speaker 3: We've got a lot of momentum. We're in a statistical
- 22:55Speaker 3: dead heat now with Kathy Hochul. And I fully expect,
- 23:00Speaker 3: with the help of all your listeners, that we will
- 23:02Speaker 3: be victorious on November 3rd and January 1st. You'll be
- 23:06Speaker 3: swearing in a new governor who cares about New Yorkers
- 23:10Speaker 3: and puts New Yorkers first, wants to make New Yorkers happy.
- 23:13Speaker 3: We're the most overtaxed state in the United States. We
- 23:16Speaker 3: need to cut our taxes. I've got a plan to
- 23:18Speaker 3: do that. We need to cut our utility rates. Our
- 23:21Speaker 3: utility rates in New York State are 70% higher than
- 23:24Speaker 3: the national average. And Kathy Hochul is the most pro-criminal
- 23:28Speaker 3: governor in the United States of America with cashless bail
- 23:31Speaker 3: and everything else she does to make it easier for
- 23:34Speaker 3: criminals to prey on our community. So that ends on
- 23:38Speaker 3: January 1st. We will get out of our economic death spiral.
- 23:41Speaker 3: We'll create great jobs. And we will have a New
- 23:44Speaker 3: York state where people are prosperous, safe, and healthy.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Yeah. And you did it in Nassau County. You probably
- 23:50Speaker 1: saw this survey that came out, the most moved-to destination
- 23:54Speaker 1: in America right now. Hardest place to find a house
- 23:56Speaker 1: so many people are going there is Nassau County right now.
- 23:59Speaker 1: So that's pretty amazing.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Yeah. Listen, it's not rocket science. The bottom line is...
- 24:07Speaker 3: If you keep taxes low, I haven't raised taxes a
- 24:10Speaker 3: penny in four years. As a matter of fact, I
- 24:12Speaker 3: cut a $ 150 million tax increase on my predecessor. If
- 24:16Speaker 3: you make communities safer, I've hired over 700 new law
- 24:21Speaker 3: enforcement professionals. U.S. News and World Report says we're the
- 24:25Speaker 3: safest county in America. And if you create jobs and
- 24:29Speaker 3: economic activity so people have higher wages, more money in
- 24:32Speaker 3: their pocket, So they can spend money the way they
- 24:35Speaker 3: want rather than have government take their money and spend
- 24:39Speaker 3: it the way they don't want, like Kathy Hochul's been
- 24:41Speaker 3: doing by spending billions of dollars on people who aren't
- 24:44Speaker 3: New Yorkers. It's not hard to do. And I will
- 24:48Speaker 3: do that when I become governor. And people will be
- 24:51Speaker 3: more prosperous. They will live in safer communities. And they'll
- 24:54Speaker 3: have lower taxes and lower energy bills.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:57Speaker 1: He's not just saying it. He's done this. Now you
- 24:59Speaker 1: can help. Go to BlakemanForNewYork.com. BlakemanForNewYork.com. She's agreed to one debate,
- 25:06Speaker 1: and it's on the very biased left-wing New York One.
- 25:09Speaker 1: But you think you'll be able to get another debate.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Out of her?
- 25:14Speaker 3: Absolutely not. I have accepted seven debates, and this is
- 25:19Speaker 3: the only one that she accepted. It's only an hour long,
- 25:22Speaker 3: and it's on the most narrow media outlet of all
- 25:27Speaker 3: the invitations that we got. Kathy Hochul can't talk about
- 25:31Speaker 3: her record because it's a record of failure. I can
- 25:34Speaker 3: talk about my record because of the good things that
- 25:36Speaker 3: I've done to make my county so successful. But Kathy
- 25:40Speaker 3: Hochul has us in an economic death spiral. It's unaffordable
- 25:45Speaker 3: because of her and it's unsafe because of her. So
- 25:48Speaker 3: she doesn't want to defend her record. If she had
- 25:50Speaker 3: such a great record, she would accept every debate so
- 25:53Speaker 3: she could tout all the good things that she's done.
- 25:56Speaker 3: But she can't do that because It's a record of misery.
- 25:59Speaker 3: We need a governor that puts New Yorkers first and
- 26:01Speaker 3: makes New Yorkers happy.
- 26:04Speaker 1: So these other offers, you mean like Channel 4, Channel 2,
- 26:07Speaker 1: that kind of stuff?
- 26:09Speaker 3: ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox 5, and then some other smaller
- 26:15Speaker 3: media outlets. We've accepted all of their invitations. This is
- 26:20Speaker 3: the only one Kathy Hochul has agreed to do. And
- 26:24Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to it anyway. I think that people
- 26:28Speaker 3: will have an opportunity to see exactly what my record is,
- 26:33Speaker 3: one of making people happy versus her record of making
- 26:36Speaker 3: people absolutely miserable.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Wow. So she's turned down the big stations. She'll do
- 26:40Speaker 1: a New York one, the tiniest station, because it's very biased,
- 26:44Speaker 1: very left-wing. You're going to be debating three people, her
- 26:47Speaker 1: and the anchors.
- 26:49Speaker 3: That's okay. Mark, you know what? I'm up for it. Uh,
- 26:55Speaker 3: there are a lot more Democrats in this state than Republicans.
- 26:59Speaker 3: There's a lot of independent voters and they're all coming
- 27:02Speaker 3: my way every day. Another Democrat walks up to me
- 27:06Speaker 3: and says, Bruce, I'm a lifelong Democrat. I've never voted
- 27:10Speaker 3: Republican before in my life. I'm voting for you. I'm
- 27:13Speaker 3: voting Republican this year. Uh, these people are nuts. And
- 27:17Speaker 3: by the way, we have an independent line, the vote
- 27:20Speaker 3: affordable line. And that's for people who may not want
- 27:23Speaker 3: to vote Republican or conservative. So if you want to
- 27:25Speaker 3: vote on an independent line, you can vote the Affordable Party.
- 27:29Speaker 3: And that gives you an opportunity to vote for me
- 27:32Speaker 3: and not feel like you're going to get electrocuted if
- 27:35Speaker 3: you vote Republican.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Hey, they always, Democrats keep pushing affordability. That's their big issue.
- 27:41Speaker 1: But if you look at the actual numbers, the affordability crisis,
- 27:45Speaker 1: it's really taxes. That's the number one expense most people
- 27:48Speaker 1: have now are taxes. So there is a way to
- 27:51Speaker 1: cut that, isn't there?
- 27:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Mark, it's taxes and it's utility bills. So first
- 27:57Speaker 3: of all, with respect to taxes, if you're a joint filer,
- 28:01Speaker 3: under my plan, your first $ 100, 000, no tax, no state
- 28:05Speaker 3: income tax. That's number one. Single filer, $ 50, 000, no tax.
- 28:12Speaker 3: That's number one. Number two, the other big cost is
- 28:15Speaker 3: your utility bill. She's approved 48 rate hikes, and she
- 28:20Speaker 3: is now going to give people a check that for
- 28:23Speaker 3: between $ 100 and $ 200 right before the election, what she
- 28:27Speaker 3: calls a rebate. It's a scam. She took your money
- 28:32Speaker 3: and she took $ 1, 000 and now she's giving you back $ 200.
- 28:36Speaker 3: I mean, it's a shell game. And people will see
- 28:40Speaker 3: through that. People aren't stupid. And they know that this
- 28:43Speaker 3: is an election year scam. So they'll get a check
- 28:47Speaker 3: for $ 200. Hey, Kathy, give it all back. Whatever you raised,
- 28:51Speaker 3: in utility costs over the last four years, give it back.
- 28:54Speaker 3: That's what I would do.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Bruce Blakeman, hey, you can help in the campaign. Just
- 29:00Speaker 1: go to BlakemanForNewYork.com. You can donate, volunteer, BlakemanForNewYork.com. A lot
- 29:06Speaker 1: of people in New York City, they're very worried about
- 29:07Speaker 1: getting through three years of Mamdani. When you become the governor,
- 29:11Speaker 1: what can you do to rein in Mamdani's craziness?
- 29:16Speaker 3: Well, first of all, the governor has a tremendous power
- 29:19Speaker 3: over New York City. So I am not going to
- 29:23Speaker 3: let him ruin the economy of New York City. That
- 29:26Speaker 3: is not going to happen with me as governor, number one.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Number two, I am not going to allow lawlessness in
- 29:33Speaker 3: New York City. I'm not going to allow him to
- 29:35Speaker 3: defund the police. I'm not going to allow him to
- 29:38Speaker 3: handcuff our police. I want to make sure that we
- 29:41Speaker 3: make New York City safe so that we will attract businesses,
- 29:46Speaker 3: will attract people to the city. And right now, people
- 29:49Speaker 3: are leaving by the hundreds of thousands because they don't
- 29:52Speaker 3: like the policies of Mondami and Hochul. And let's face it,
- 29:56Speaker 3: the guy's an anti-Semite. He's anti-Christian. And quite frankly, he's anti-American.
- 30:02Speaker 3: And Kathy Hope endorsed him and he endorsed her. So
- 30:06Speaker 3: they're in bed together. And the fact of the matter
- 30:08Speaker 3: is that we don't need people who don't share the
- 30:11Speaker 3: values of our parents and our grandparents. What we need
- 30:13Speaker 3: to do is get back to those values because it
- 30:16Speaker 3: made a really, really good state and a really great city.
- 30:20Speaker 3: And if we get back to those values, we can
- 30:22Speaker 3: restore that greatness once again.
- 30:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 30:25Speaker 1: So, Bruce Blakeman, the big attack ad she and her
- 30:28Speaker 1: super PACs are running, the big attack ads against you
- 30:31Speaker 1: are that you're friends with Donald Trump. It's actually quite
- 30:33Speaker 1: a compliment if that's the only thing they can come
- 30:35Speaker 1: up with to attack you for.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Well, she doesn't want to talk about her record. She
- 30:41Speaker 3: wants to talk about Donald Trump. Donald Trump didn't raise
- 30:45Speaker 3: your taxes to be the highest taxed state in the
- 30:48Speaker 3: United States. Donald Trump didn't Raise your utility bills so
- 30:53Speaker 3: they're now 70% higher than the national average. Kathy Hochul
- 30:57Speaker 3: did that. She's the one that's made it unaffordable. We
- 31:01Speaker 3: are number 50, Mark, out of 50 states in economic outlook.
- 31:06Speaker 3: It doesn't get worse than that. There's only 50 states.
- 31:08Speaker 3: That is the bottom. And we were the once great
- 31:12Speaker 3: empire state. And the fact is that there's no economic activity.
- 31:16Speaker 3: People are leaving. Businesses are leaving. Jobs are leaving. We've
- 31:20Speaker 3: got to stop that death spiral.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Well, you've gone from 20 points behind to almost tied
- 31:26Speaker 1: right now, and you're still climbing. What is it you
- 31:29Speaker 1: want people to do for you right now, people listening?
- 31:32Speaker 3: Well, as you said, go to BlakemanForNewYork.com. We're up against
- 31:36Speaker 3: the Democratic machine. We're up against the DSA, people who
- 31:41Speaker 3: don't share our American values. They're socialists slash communists. And
- 31:47Speaker 3: please make a contribution. It's very important. Volunteer. Make a list.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Make a list of your friends, your neighbors, your relatives,
- 31:57Speaker 3: your co-workers, and keep calling them until they promise you
- 32:01Speaker 3: that they voted because turnout is going to be a
- 32:04Speaker 3: big factor. We need a big turnout for people who
- 32:07Speaker 3: want lower taxes, lower energy bills, and safer communities.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Yeah. If you want to donate, go to BlakemanForNewYork.com. BlakemanForNewYork.com. Well,
- 32:17Speaker 1: We're all pushing for you. I think you're going to
- 32:20Speaker 1: win big in November, and we'll be watching, and we'll
- 32:23Speaker 1: talk again soon. Bruce Blakeman, thanks for being with us.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Thank you so much, Mark, and I appreciate your friendship.
- 32:30Speaker 3: May God bless you and all your listeners, and may
- 32:32Speaker 3: God bless America.
- 32:33Speaker 1: All right. Bruce Blakeman, thanks for being with us. Take care. Yeah,
- 32:37Speaker 1: everybody help out. Go to BlakemanForNewYork.com. Well, the price of
- 32:44Speaker 1: oil has been spiking up today. Yeah, it is high.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Now it's a problem. It's backed off a little. It
- 32:51Speaker 1: was $ 104. Now it's $ 102 a barrel. The reason for
- 32:54Speaker 1: the sudden spike is a Saudi Arabian pipeline hit. A
- 32:59Speaker 1: blown up explosion by what looked like it's believed to
- 33:03Speaker 1: be drones from Iran. Iran believed to be behind it. Now,
- 33:07Speaker 1: it's a pipeline. It can be repaired. It'll take a
- 33:09Speaker 1: little while, but once that's fixed and Flowing again, that'll
- 33:13Speaker 1: change things. And once you get the Strait of Hormuz open,
- 33:19Speaker 1: that'll help. And remember, within about a year and a half,
- 33:23Speaker 1: the Strait of Hormuz will be totally irrelevant. Pipelines are
- 33:26Speaker 1: being built right now in every direction so that they
- 33:29Speaker 1: will no longer depend on the Strait of Hormuz. Within
- 33:32Speaker 1: two years, that'll be accomplished. Hey, it's going to be
- 33:34Speaker 1: a beautiful day today, so enjoy it. Not as warm, mid-70s,
- 33:38Speaker 1: but sunny. It's the final eight days of summer. Final
- 33:42Speaker 1: eight days. The weather's going to be in the 70s,
- 33:44Speaker 1: but really nice this week. The final week and a
- 33:46Speaker 1: half of summer. Hey, we're out of time. Don't forget
- 33:48Speaker 1: I start at 9 o'clock now, 9 a.m. to noon.
- 33:51Speaker 1: It's now three hours. So I'll be back tomorrow, 9 o'clock.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Talk to you then. Have a great day. Mark Simone
- 33:59Speaker 1: here on 710WORC.
