  It's time Let's do it.
• 0:06
  [rock music] Yes.
• 0:26
Are you gonna write a new song? What? [laughs] You gonna write a new song next week? Oh. Absolutely. I'll do the best. Yeah. I'll do my best on that. All right. Hey, everybody. It's Full Spectrum Cycling number 277.
• 0:41
Da, da, da, da, da, da, da. This is the post-Biketoberfest edition. Oh, so much fun. That worked out- Billy is a saint, man. Is that what kept you on the ride? Because you're like, "I'm so tired, I gotta go home."
• 0:52
I, I know I- Before we even- No, I was exhausted. Yeah. I had a long day, okay, motherfucker? But, but because it was such a good ride, you kept- Hey, I stopped... Oh, it was great... kept riding. I did.
• 1:04
Ride and ride and, yes, yes, yes. I was surprised that the clunker treated me as nicely as it did. You did- I-... multiple occasions say how much you enjoyed that... I was, I was surprised.
• 1:16
Well, the, the pace of the ride worked out well for how it's geared. Once on the ride. Yeah. Not chasing e-bikes getting downhill. No, exactly. [laughs] It's one of those- Oops... it's, it's total damn mental.
• 1:31
Who had an e-bike, though? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Might've been me. Oh, yeah, yeah. I was like, between you and Bill, I'm like, "This is gonna be a, a noisy ride."
• 1:42
[laughs] Well, Bill, Bill- Bill going, "I don't know if I can make it. I don't want... Ah, fuck that. I'm not going any further south. I'm not going, I'm not going any further." Bill rolls fast, though.
• 1:51
He, he- Bill's a fast freaking rider... sticks along that- Yeah. Yeah... you know, on that fat bike. He's ticking along at 16, 17, which is- Mm-hmm. And he's a big boy, too. Yeah.
• 1:59
I mean, it's a, it's a big boy riding a big bike- Yeah... and he moves it. I mean, this is, I mean, I thought I was gonna be pace car. I was, I thought I was gonna be, like, way sweeper and whatever.
• 2:08
You should just put a ski rope on the- Let him pull him... yeah, on the Xtracycle and you can pull JK. I, I- Oh, yeah... I should've done that next time. Oh, no. I mean, you still have the seat there.
• 2:17
I could've just- You could just grab behind you. Yeah... hooked him up. Yeah. I mean, I've, I've- I will...
• 2:20
I, I'll- I've sketched buses before, so it's, it's [laughs] When Tony, when Tony's doing this to you, you gotta watch out... unheard of. Yeah, you gotta watch out.
• 2:25
I'll let- Um, I will say that I thought that, I'm sorry, but the, the Jake newborn speakers were a little annoying. They were just a little too loud, and I think they weren't directed properly and, you know, whatever.
• 2:41
Mm-hmm. But- Um-... and his, and his choice of music was pretty bad, too, but hey Yeah. Well, that's your- He finally threw a-... that's your opinion, man. Yeah... I know.
• 2:48
He finally threw out Ghost Town at, like, midnight. Well, yeah. I know there were a lot of calls for it. Well, right? 'Cause it's- They were going to the wrong person, 'cause I was like- You're...
• 2:58
I, I stuck close to you to listen to your music... I was like, I'm like, "All right." [laughs] Like- Well, I was trying to sound navigate, uh, away from him, but he was doing a lot of, uh, group ride management.
• 3:13
Catching up and yeah, it was- Block, uh, traffic light... absolutely... and, you know, hey, you need to do that, and he does have the rig that would do that. But there's a lot of, you, you know, whatever. Yeah.
• 3:24
It's funny. So what was the, what do you guys think the best stop was, even though you didn't go to Wiggle Room, which was the best- Pretty great... the best [laughs] stop. I'll bet you it was. Well, I don't know.
• 3:33
Um- I don't know. It was a, yeah, I, I wouldn't, I wouldn't say that- Actually, I was pleasantly surprised with Busby's. I... Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. I had a great time the whole entire night. Yeah.
• 3:41
I sent Bill a message the next day and he responded back, "Thank you, General Tony-" [laughs] "... giving me shit about General Mitchell International Airport." Oh, that's- Yeah [laughs]... that's funny...
• 3:49
and then dug me yesterday on the show saying, "I'm still gonna follow Weather Pr- which calls it General Mitchell International Airport." General International Mitchell Airport.
• 3:58
'Cause they haven't, like, changed it since they did the first- 2019- Right... when they changed the name of the damn airport? Yeah. General International- Six years... Mitchell Airport. That's what it is.
• 4:07
Mitchell International Airport. General International Mitchell Airport. No, stop it. That's what I hear it as. It's just Mitchell Field. It's, ah, yes. It's Mitchell International- Well, no, wasn't it-... Airport.
• 4:18
Yeah, yeah. It used to- According to you. That's where, uh- According to the news article. Didn't they have fucking, like, Minuteman missiles- There was some-... based there?... closer to the lake, I believe.
• 4:27
Oh, that was Summerfest. Yeah, I'm sorry. They've, they've been all over. I got my- Yep... they were in Lake Park and- Yeah... yeah. The Cold War, you know, treated- Sunset... Milwaukee well with its missile batteries.
• 4:36
Hey, you didn't grow up in Oshkosh, which was prime blowup category because of Oshkosh Truck during the Cold War. You, you, well, yeah. I guess that's true.
• 4:45
Like, that was something our second grade teacher told us, like, "Just so you know, if there is a war, we're the first to go." [laughs] Like, I'm in fucking second grade and you're telling me this? Yeah, yeah.
• 4:54
In a millisecond- We all dealt with-... of brilliant light- And then we're glass... and we're vaporized. Yeah. We are all glass. Watching the day after- How many, how many War Games-...
• 5:01
getting traumatized by that one- War Games... in grade school. That was grand. War Games references. Mm-hmm. Oh, Mr. Potato Head. Yes. They- Mr. Potato Head... talked about that other thing, too. So
• 5:11
from door to door, leaving at 4:00-ish, [laughs] 4 o'clock-ish in the afternoon and arriving at almost 4:00 AM-ish. [laughs] Very close to 4:00 AM. You guys were gone for 12 hours? Uh, no. It was, like, uh, 2:30. Yeah.
• 5:29
But it was a lollygag, just- I got home just before midnight... da, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun. Well, wait- Did you, uh- It wasn't gonna be no ride... did you Space Trucker track it on your phone?
• 5:39
Yes, but I logged in, uh, as the wrong thing, but it did record it, and I think it was 31.5. That seemed f- far. We didn't go as far as we could have done. I did 24 on mine. The actual- But I left early...
• 5:53
the actual loop of the ride itself was not, not much. Yeah, it was good. Uh, it, it, per- I mean, I am, oh, I'm, I'm- I was-... blessing it because- You know, yeah, in my head.
• 6:05
I mean, I didn't know how well this was gonna treat me Much, uh, m- much like the turf skate park evening, I- 31.9...
• 6:13
meandered around, wow, I meandered around the south side until we got to Humboldt Park, and I'm like, "Okay, I know where I am now. I can get home." Yeah.
• 6:23
And for a long time- Isn't that, isn't that just- I drove down there with John... a pretty looking route, Schlick? But it is a nice- Yeah, it looks good. So- All, all along this...
• 6:31
like, just like this, like, down part is- All along the lakefront action Nice. I like it. I like it. Okay, just right there, that's the actual ride. Right. So, [laughs]
• 6:42
that big, long 10 miles in the other two directions [laughs] is on the way to get there. Right on. Well, it was a good thing. Yes, yes. Do it. I will do it next year again. Yes. On the 26th year. I will, I will as well.
• 6:56
Yeah, there wasn't really any... I thought there would be a little more revelry about that, but- I, I, I- That's cool...
• 7:02
Bill was extremely happy that there were not 250 to 300 people like- Which there could have been given the weather... a couple of years ago. Yeah. There could have been a couple hundred people there.
• 7:11
Because the weather was so bitching. Yeah. I was kind of surprised, but then he didn't let it out until the week before. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Basically, and specifically didn't, like, pimp it. It was- Yeah.
• 7:22
He releases it- It's like, um-... to a few people and then- Was bike-... those people will-... pimp it... will kind of invite a few people, and if you- Bike-minded.
• 7:29
Yeah, kind of manage- I, I did have, I posted some pictures, and one person did post that they totally forgot about it. Like, "Oh, I spaced it." I'm like, "Yeah, you spaced one of the best rides of the year."
• 7:38
I just, I'd asked him a couple weeks before when it was gonna be, not, "Where's it gonna go?" But- No, no, no. Oh, no. But, uh- Oh, no You're not bringing up Be- Buckcrack Andy again, man. No. Come on. You got it.
• 7:50
All right. I just like saying Buckcrack Andy. Well, anything on- You said it twice. You know he's gonna plop through the damn curtain. If we say it again? Yeah, like- Don't say it. Don't, don't, don't, don't.
• 7:59
Don't do it. Just please, please. Um- I beg you... all right. So- [laughs] It's my Halloween wish... so that was Biketoberfest. What else has gone on? Did we... Time.
• 8:09
You- I ha- I was going through my pictures to look at what we actually did last week because sometimes I don't recall, was it last week or the week before? Right. Or a year ago? [laughs] I- Time is a flat circle. Yeah.
• 8:23
So I don't remember doing any other real events last week- You-... my own self. [laughs] You did send me the link to that absolutely bitching cargo bike, though. Yeah. Yeah. The, um- That's the belt drive- So-...
• 8:36
directional turn... it, I, it's, Dan, um, Dan Mena sent me a thing on that, like, m- probably a month or two ago- Okay... when they had the only, you could only buy the complete bike.
• 8:51
And it was, it's Swiss, and it's made in France. Oof. So it's not cheap. And I think it was, like, eight grand- Oof... with the pinion gearbox or something. Oof.
• 9:00
And I was like, "Oh, that's cool, but man, is that expensive," even without being an electric bike 'cause it's a pinion drive. And then recently they started offering the frame set, which is still spendy at 26 hundo.
• 9:12
Yeah. And I think that's without the pinion drive. [laughs] No, I'm sure that's without the pinion drive. Yeah. But it can add the- Sure... you have to add a pinion- Well, you have to... so that it'll fit, right?
• 9:20
But you can do a 6-speed or a 12-speed or whatever.
• 9:24
And it just, it's a really cool design, and I hadn't look- noticed it the first time, but they use, like, it's gotta be an inch and a half or something belt that goes between- Yeah, it looks like a gates, basically- Yeah...
• 9:35
to, to turn... between the bottom of the, the head tube and the wheel where you- Yeah, the steer tube. Yeah. I mean- That's actually a very cool solution to that problem. Yeah. Absolutely. If, if it doesn't skip a cog.
• 9:46
[laughs] As you're riding, you turn a corner and it jumps. It must not because they've been, you know, riding them. It's a, it's a pretty substantial bicycle, for sure. Yeah.
• 9:56
I just, and it's really well, it looks like it's... It just, I like the look of it. I mean, it's closing in on Omnium beauty. Oh, it looks a lot like an Omnium, for sure. Which is- But, yeah...
• 10:05
I don't know why I think that bike is so sexy, but it's a sexy- It's, I'll tell you, riding it's-... the Omnium sexy... riding it borders on religious to me, so, you know.
• 10:13
[laughs] I, I didn't send you guys the picture, but somebody on one of the Omnium groups was asking, like, "How do you store them?"
• 10:19
Because, you know, they're a little long, and they're a little wide, and there's a couple solutions. Living room. Well, like, they make, now Omnium sells one. Door.
• 10:27
There was a, there was a, a, a third party that made a- [laughs]... tilting rack mechanism, and also you can just loosen your handlebars and 90 those. Yeah, of course. So it's nice and narrow.
• 10:38
Or just keep riding all year. All right. But I also saw them, you just cock the front wheel and tip it up with the back wheel in the air. And it, it sits- It'll stand on itself? It sits on the rack. Yeah. The 80s.
• 10:48
I, I mean, we can try it after the show. We should. Because I didn't try it yet, but- That's like a magic trick. Yeah. It's like, uh- That's funny. [laughs] But yeah, it just, it, it, it basically makes it vertical.
• 10:59
All right, now I'm seeing a roll over a roll cage. So you could do that and then roll it over and keep riding. [laughs] Yeah, with a really strong front brake. All right. Yeah. That would be fun. I could do that.
• 11:10
If you- So yeah, I know. I'm, I've been snooping around the Omnium stuff just 'cause there's some s- some smart people that solve some problems in even simple stuff like my orange straps on there with the D-rings
• 11:22
from this guy in Australia. Yeah. Pal- No idea. Pal Mel, uh- Pal Mel Palma... on, uh, Instagram. Not Palma. Pal Mel.
• 11:30
So I, I, I don't know if I talked about these before, but I, they worked really well and I showed some photos of having that big orange netting box on there. Yeah. Great.
• 11:39
And he said, "Man, that looks like a perfect fit," and it, it actually is a really perfect fit. But, um, he, half the price of the belts or the, the straps was shipping from Australia. Mm-hmm.
• 11:53
So I'm thinking maybe we should- It is the land down under... get, like, 10 at a time, 10 sets at a time for people that are in the US and hopefully save a shit ton on shipping. Shipping. Yeah. From where? Australia.
• 12:03
All right. I knew somebody who lived there. You said it three times. Now Zita's gonna walk through there. Yeah, I was gonna say I, I, I knew a guy who lived there. I know But we were somebody- Perfect...
• 12:10
oh, uh, uh- He gave me a beer this weekend, I was pretty surprised. Right on. And excited. Yeah. Oh- Don't be a dick to him, he gave you a beer... you, you of little faith in humanity.
• 12:18
[laughs] He's gonna be a dick to me. I tell you. [laughs] Uh, Steven was in today working in the shop on, uh, Sean's, more Sean bike stuff, and he was talking about a company in Australia
• 12:29
called SkinGrowsBack, and that's- Yeah, yeah, yeah... so that's- I, it's, yeah, I, I, I believe I've heard Zito talk about this... yeah, and that's the backpack that he was wearing- Yeah... on the ride.
• 12:38
And he, he's like, "Oh, I put my down coat on and it's all slippery." It's all slippery. "And my backpack [laughs] my backpack keeps coming, falling off my shoulder." I'm like, "Well, it has a sternum strap.
• 12:48
You can just strap it." And he's like, "Yeah, I don't wanna do that. Can you put it on your cargo bike?" I'm like, "I guess." You loser. Oh, yeah. [laughs] I know, I was wondering why- I can carry it, I don't care.
• 12:58
That's what it's made for, carrying shit. That was funny because- It's a, I would rather put my backpack on there, which was on there too, so I don't have to ride with it on my back. I don't want a backpack.
• 13:09
On my bike, on my back. Keeps me warm. Then you gotta call it something else. Uh, what? You have to call it something. Backpack.
• 13:16
It's not a backpack if it's not- Well, when you're- It's not a backpack if- Well, but when you're not on the bike, it- Bog... then, then it is a backpack. It's a bog. It's not just- Hmm...
• 13:23
a duffle bag sitting on the, on the front there. It's a bog. It's a bog. When you're done, you park your bike, you walk, put your backpack on. But when it's not on your back, it's a bog. We'll revisit this. Or pack.
• 13:32
All right. [laughs] This is- I will be using it m- And, ah, I understand- I think I have too many backpacks... it's a- Yeah. No such thing. Less backpacks. It's an unattached pannier. There you go. [laughs] All right.
• 13:46
It's a pannier-like object... and the panniers that are going on my Omnium are actually a very, very close derivative of the, uh, Jammer bag from Roadrunner that goes on the front. You like it? Yeah, uh.
• 13:59
Slightly different, you know, build and mount spots, but they turn into panniers then. Cool. Yeah. Maybe next week I'll have those on there. I like the panniers that- Paniers... panniers. Paniers. These.
• 14:10
Aren't you a frog? Yeah. Somewhat? Oh, yeah. [laughs] I'm not of the Cajun variety, though, but I'd love to be, 'cause that's delicious food, Justin Wilson would say. [sighs] Good stuff, Maynard. I guarantee.
• 14:23
Uh- What a great- Let's, let's talk a little bit about JK's new ride. [laughs] Fuck you, you fucking fuck. Since- Well, I didn't wanna bring it up while, uh, Ian was expounding on car-free week and [laughs] whatever.
• 14:36
[laughs] I'm like, "Ah, goddamn car." I've been, I've been- [laughs] Yeah, like, I've been car-free for four and a half years and now- Yeah, I'm like, I've, like about to- Have you got your minivan?... go shopping.
• 14:46
Oh, yes. Oh, do you know? I haven't even seen it. The GT minivan. The GT. The- Does it warm your heinie when you drive? This is, this is, this is, this is what I want it to look like.
• 14:56
[laughs] Oh, you should totally do that. Because it- You should totally do that... it would just make- Radio boosters... everything absolutely simple. Greg, can I get... Oh, oh, oh, yeah. I'll put...
• 15:03
Wait, you sent some pictures for the show notes thing. Dun, dun, dun. I'll throw that one on there. Yeah. Dun, dun, dun. So have you- It just, it lends itself- Dun, dun, dun, dun... is that an Astro van, though?
• 15:12
Uh, no, that's a full- It's a GMC... that's a full-sized GMC [laughs]. Oh, right on. Yeah, yeah. I, but- But- But somebody has to have done that at some point- Oh, yeah... on a Caravan. Oh.
• 15:20
Oh, no, no, no, I think it should be a Scooby-Doo van. Yeah. Are you gonna make your wheels red like that, too? [laughs] No, it should be a Scooby-Doo van. Well, well, w- well, we will see. Well, a little powder coating.
• 15:30
It doesn't- It's, uh, I, I think, uh-... somebody knows how to do that... I was gonna get a cargo van, and then have to build that out or in and whatever, so I don't have that.
• 15:41
The budget for- Homework, well, no, I don't have that- The budget is not blown yet... yeah, I don't have that homework assignment mentally for that, so I can just kinda tinker around with this one. I don't know.
• 15:50
It's got, like, a weird thing on the back that's, mimics the spoiler, so I could just use that as the spoiler, and the nice r- I just want the red stripe in there. Have it wrapped. Maybe you can get a, yeah, a wrap.
• 16:04
Thinking about it. Something like that. Thinking about a brr, get a wrap on it- Yeah... right. Put the wrap on the side. Just saying. No idea what you're talking about. Wrap. Wrap that rascal. [laughs] Wrap it up.
• 16:16
Getting into a different vein of wrapping stuff- Yeah. Finally... when you talk about rascals. But, uh, I mean, it's just cool, and it does have a shitload of space. You are correct, sir- Yeah, mm-hmm...
• 16:25
with the Grand Caravan. Have you, you've stor- Oh, you threw, you threw a bike in there already? Have you stowed a goat? Uh, yes. It's kinda permanently stowed. I love that. Yeah.
• 16:34
I mean, there's a seat there in case somebody wants to jump in, [clears throat] or if I know I have to ferry some people. But it came with all the seats, right? Yeah, yeah. Oh. There aren't a bunch of them, no. Yeah.
• 16:44
You know what's super awesome, too, is the, is especially the way y- you have it set up with the, the two front seats, and then the one seat that you have up is behind the driver. Yeah.
• 16:54
So you can take the passenger seat and totally slam it, like, horizontal. So if you need to put something really long, like a roll of carpet or some two-by-fours for your project,
• 17:03
it's perfect because you now have, like, 11 feet or more to the front of the van. Yeah. It's- Free, free and clear... I, I just found a sauna on Facebook Marketplace that- So now that you have a-...
• 17:15
I have to disassemble and move... you gotta help move everybody now that you got the- You might have to help me move that. Oh, if I got the cargo van, sure as shit, yes, all of it.
• 17:22
Some- Here are the keys, for God's sakes. I believe in you... stop messing up my leather. You can't bring your- But-... building materials- Yeah... in my leather vehicle. [laughs] I got some leather. Sure is. It is.
• 17:32
This indoor/outdoor sauna looked really attractive. So everything I was looking at, they all were, like, [laughs] in Kim's words, were, like, you know, "I don't want a white rape van." Yeah. You know?
• 17:42
And it was like- So what color is yours? Black. Oh, nice. Which is cool. And it's not- I mean, it, well, it ticks off- It's finished inside. It's not- Yeah... it's not a cargo van. It's finished in there.
• 17:49
No, it's a, it's a GT. But what I was looking at before that- It's way more than finished. It's way cooler... but it was, like, everything I was looking at, the only color [laughs] was white. Was white.
• 17:58
It's like, I mean, there are ways around that, you know? Da, da, da, da. Wraps and stuff. Stickers and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You know, you identify it this way, blah, blah, blah. But yeah, uh, it's good.
• 18:10
Now I have a little more flexibility in terms of-... port rides and- Right on... going out in the world Yeah, you're gonna get sand in your Stow 'N Go. [laughs] Ah. Oh, yeah. I'm gonna WeatherTech the hell out of it.
• 18:23
Do you know what the WeatherTech- But I'm gonna get something-... does not make for them yet, which I don't know why... I'm just gonna throw a fucking tarp in there and- Yeah... be done with it.
• 18:29
That would be a super- Yeah, that'd be a way better idea... super simple solution. Mm-hmm. But as I almost always drive with my,
• 18:36
uh, Grand Caravan, very similar, I am always the all seats are down, except for the two front. And if WeatherTech made a very nice- Full... laser, you know, measured- Full back... I would've bought that in an instant.
• 18:49
Oh, that'd be awesome. I would buy one, like right now, buy one. And it, it could be 800 bucks because it's that big- Probably be three or something. I mean- But, but it'd be worth it...
• 18:57
they would sell a bazillion of them. You could just like at the end of the day, lift open the hatch and just pour out all the shit from the bikes. Yeah. Oh, it's a great idea.
• 19:04
It's almost as good as having like a, a Honda Passport that you could actually- Have you emailed them about this idea? My buddy's the president of the company, and I can't get him to do it. [laughs] Are you kidding me?
• 19:12
Nuts. You know, you're giving me all of the ideas of just buying one of that nature and then just, I don't know- It is a great idea... cutting it and just slotting it- It does make a Honda-... or oddly putting it in...
• 19:23
it does make it a Honda Element. Yeah, we can't... Well, mine is fabric. It's not leather, so I could- Well, yeah, if you put the cover over it- Yeah... then it would be a, a basically a Honda Element.
• 19:31
And then you can lift- You just lift it out and hose it out... you can, you can hose it out. Your suicide el- Yep... suicide doors. [laughs] Those are cool. Good stuff, Honda. I love an Element.
• 19:38
And you can get it in a stick, which is my big deal. They were in my conversation of things to look at, but- Horrible fuel economy. Yeah. What? The Element. Oh. Terrible. Yeah.
• 19:50
Yeah, but it, you could- But surprisingly, the, the Caravan, I got 26 on the way back from Hayward, which isn't dreadful for a van.
• 19:56
That, because they use a 2.4 in the Element, it gets horrendous fuel economy 'cause you're driving a box and you gotta get that RPM way up. But I've got, I got 283 horsepower- I know... in a six cylinder and I get 26.
• 20:05
And that thing gets... That thing, it does not have that and still gets like 18. And it doesn't get out of its own way much either. Right. Yeah, it's terrible.
• 20:13
I love the vehicle, but yeah, it's not- But they do run forever. Yeah, they do. It's time for- Well, that's the thing. That's what I was gonna say.
• 20:18
Like it's a Honda, and I mean, you're just gonna get bored with it, or the chassis is gonna rust the fuck out. Mm-hmm. But that r- engine will keep, uh, going the whole time.
• 20:27
I had a friend in Chicago, and we're driving, [laughs] and I swear it was like a freaking Flintstones car. I mean, there was like a hole in the floor. And it was still running fine? Yeah. Well... Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
• 20:40
Speedometer was broke. Everything w- you know, it, I mean, it was just a motor and seats. It was brilliant. I like it. All right. I got a thing here, uh, noticed it on Face... Oh, we should do that first.
• 20:54
We're at the top of the hill. That's where we are now. Uh, Jake- For the... [laughs] I don't know much about this. I looked it up. I, yeah. Four Hands Brewing. From St. Louis.
• 21:05
I don't know a thing about it- It, it, it is... except I had a, I had a six-pack of, uh, Zombie Dust in my hand I was gonna bring just 'cause- Who doesn't like Zombie Dust, right? Exactly. Right.
• 21:15
And then I took one more look through the craft beer aisle. Where was this? Total Wine. Oh. Oh. Well, they should be pretty good at rotating stock at Total Wine, though, so- Yeah... I don't think this is old.
• 21:28
I don't think this is old. No, I think it tastes fine. Um- Incarnation IPA? It's a St. Louis brewery apparently. I had no idea. I couldn't even tell on the damn can. I just like the art. [laughs] Pardon me.
• 21:41
I just burped in the micro. It's like, yeah, I'm like- Um-... I'm like, it's, like, you know, it's a pale ale- Well-... it's a pale ale, and it's got- Okay... cool art.
• 21:48
I'll, I'll, I'll read you what they wrote just so you can get an idea of what they're thinking. Mm-kay. "Rise up and tantalize your taste buds. Our Mosa-" Oh. It's a Mosaic hopped IPA. Yep.
• 21:57
"Incantation pours a glowing amber hue with a firm collar of white foam. A subtle malt sweetness-" Collar "...
• 22:05
provided by pale and caramel malts gives way to loads of pineapple, passion fruit, and candied citrus aromanas re- aromanas and flavors." Aromanas. I don't know that I get all that citrusy out of it. I don't.
• 22:18
Yeah, that's a l- that little bite, I guess. It is a 7% beer. Yeah. Uh, here's the nice part. They tell you what to eat with it. I saw that. They recommend to- Spicy food...
• 22:28
pair it with your, uh, your, your spicy pad Thai, grilled rib eye, which is not spicy hopefully, sharp cheddar, and carrot cake. I'm okay with the sharp cheddar. I don't know about carrot cake. Not a big fan of carrot.
• 22:40
Not sure about that. It's okay. I love carrot cake, but I don't know about it with this beer. Yeah, I would not do that. Or sharp cheddar. Uh, sharp cheddar goes with anything. Yeah. Yeah, pretty much. Totally.
• 22:47
You melt it on top of your carrot cake. Oh, no. You don't eat melted on top of- Oh, no... you melt it on top of apple pie. All right. That's the show beer for today. Oh, wait. Are you... How Wisconsin is that?
• 23:00
[laughs] It's actually, that's, that's a, that's a- Or Midwest... that's a, not a wives' tale, but no. Yes, I always said that that was a thing. No. Yes, yes, no? Like- No, yes...
• 23:10
like there was a supposedly, and it's all rumor, that in order to generate money for Wisconsin farmers, that all apple pie had to be served with a slice of cheddar cheese. That's all bogus.
• 23:24
That being said, my dad always- What?... ate his apple pie with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese, and I have to tell you- Sure... that combination is absolutely fucking incredible. Yeah. Yeah. I could see that.
• 23:35
It's like- Oh, it tastes-... totally good dichotomy- Well-... of flavors in your face, man... oh, it goes so well... I mean, I don't like, I don't like just sweets, like straight up sweets. Right. I agree. You know?
• 23:44
Throw a little something in there. Yeah. Yeah, a little bit of savory. Ah. A little cheese action really helps that. Yeah. Right on. Well, in Anthony Bourdain's world, it was like, "You know, I don't really need dessert.
• 23:54
Why don't you just give me cheese?" Right. Anthony, "That, that'll be my dessert course." I could do that. Oh, I have to go into this then. And I'm like, "Oof." What about bacon?
• 24:02
Well, there's bacon as your dessert course. As every- So- Ah, that's, I did, ah, yes, I did that, uh, for family vacation. Chocolate dipped, dark chocolate coated bacon.
• 24:14
So- My little cousins were, and nieces and nephews were freaking out... hopefully Mike won't listen to this... one kid just like shoved like eight of them in his mouth. Why? Because our
• 24:24
Right after we were married, we decided to go out to a fancy dinner after getting matching tattoos. T- tattoos? And we went to this place called L'Etoile, I highly recommend it, in Madison. Overlooks the capital.
• 24:36
Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. And it started with one of the most epic cheese plates ever, and then it got... towards the end of the night and it got to dessert,
• 24:47
and Molly and I both asked the server, like, "Is it wrong to get another cheese plate?" [laughs] And he looks at us, he's like, "Would you like different cheeses?" I'm like, "Oh, it's fucking on like Donkey Kong." Nice.
• 24:59
Nothing's better than starting a meal with cheese and ending it with cheese. Why not? It was so fucking good. I like, I like it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I could be persuaded to- Oh, so good... think along those lines.
• 25:11
Man, it was great. Yeah. I mean, yeah. It- Some apple slices on the side to go with the ch- oh. [gags] It's not like, "Oh, hey," uh, you know, Ma Fisher's or, you know, Greek family restaurant.
• 25:22
Going like, "Anything from the twirling- Right... uh, de- dessert display?" You know, like... [laughs] Don't, don't go in there. No. It's like, oh man, there ain't nothing, nothing, nothing is looking right there.
• 25:35
All right. You don't like that key lime pie? I don't like that key lime pie. Well, you keep... Well, I do me like... I do like me a cle- key lime pie. I actually made an Atlantic beach pie last week. Ooh.
• 25:46
Or last- What is the middle? What is that? Same thing, same concept. Okay. Except like every other kind of citrus- Okay... as well. Okay. Sounds good. Interesting.
• 25:56
So I don't know if you guys ran across this on the Book Face, but I've got a message or two about it, that a young lady f- from the Milwaukee area who's a hairdresser and an avid cyclist- Oh, shit.
• 26:08
Oh, I didn't see that... yes, um, her name is Ivy. I- Uh, she had a... I don't know what happened exactly, but somehow she had a CO2 cartridge pump thing, like, explode- What?...
• 26:20
while she was doing something with it on her bike, and it, it, it, her face got, like, shrapnel-ed or something. And she's in, I guess, you know, needing some reconstructive stuff, and there's- Jesus. Right.
• 26:33
There's a GoFundMe, and, uh, to the credit of people who know her, it's doing pretty well. Yeah. So there's a link in the show notes if that's something you feel like you should support. And, uh- Wow...
• 26:43
it, it's gonna be a longer recovery because there's multiple things to, you know, kind of make things hopefully close to what they were before kind of deal. Mm-hmm. Wow.
• 26:52
I don't know all the details yet, but I do know that it's something that- Yeah... uh, you know, cyclist, local. Go for Ivy. Go... Right? Yeah, for sure. Definitely look that up. Uh, JK yelled at me about this one. Uh-oh.
• 27:06
'Cause it's a JS Online link. [sighs] Oh, my. He did yell at us earlier about that. Well, that is a pain in the... Well, so in the northwest corner of the city, there's, um, little Menomonee River Parkway. Read it to me.
• 27:18
Yeah, yeah. I think it's way out there by 105th and almost out of the county. Almost Highway 100. Yeah. Okay. And they're turning one of the roads there into pedestrian and bike only permanently. Cool. Interesting. Yeah.
• 27:32
Okay. Because people are using it as drag strips and doing stupid shit on it. Right. Fuck them. Yeah. Right? So hopefully that will tame down the peoples on, in their fast automobiles, and also- Mm-hmm...
• 27:46
give people a place where they can feel safe actually being outside and walking around and- Yeah. Right. Anyway. And practice their longboarding in the middle of the c- So if, if, if you're not in the city- [laughs]...
• 27:56
of Milwaukee and you don't go to JS Online all the time- [laughs]... you can certainly go to this site and you won't get paywalled. To check it out. I think you get four a month, and that's just like, come on. Right.
• 28:08
It is kind of lame. Douchebags. Throw some advertising on there. I think they already do throw advertising on there. A lot of it. Then why paywall it? Right. Mike, Mike- Don't get me started...
• 28:17
Mike, Mike is not on traditional media anymore. He doesn't care for it. Nah. In the least. Well. Well, it just, it's legit. I get it. I mean, I don't know. All right.
• 28:29
I've had this link in here, and I keep taking it out and moving it forward, but I would like to, um, I would like to get rid of it this week, so I would go check it out if I were you.
• 28:39
[sighs] Um, this is, uh, just how dangerous is the Great Salt Lake dust? Because as we know- Oh... the Great Salt Lake is shrinking. Shrinks. And the dust apparently has a lot of stuff in it. Besides salt? Yeah.
• 28:51
When it blows around, it's got heavy metals- Oh, that shit's-... all sorts of shit... nasty as shit. So there's a dude, his name is Evan. He's, he's a guy from, uh, uh, NBC News.
• 29:01
He's, uh, well, the dust researcher, Kevin Perry, and he's using a fat bike with some kind of big equipment on the back of it that he's- Yeah... using to go out there on the- Just-... whatever you call it.
• 29:11
It's not a playa. What is it? Cor- It looked like a, a- Like, it's, it's almost a-... just, just a dolly... yeah. Just looked like a normal damn dolly he had set up there. Right.
• 29:17
But it's some sort of measuring equipment- Interesting... to see what they're getting. But the fact that he's on a fat bike is pretty cool- Yeah... 'cause he's now doing, like, research and whatever on this, this
• 29:27
fat bike deal. I like it. I don't know. You put a bunch of Californians in out there at, uh, at the old Great Salt Lake with my brethren, the Mormon folk- Right...
• 29:36
and you're gonna, you're gonna take up your resources is what you're gonna do out there. It's a great place for the s- the spaceship to land, too. What spaceship? Again- What spaceship?...
• 29:44
our progenitors- What spaceship? You know what spaceship. Which you know. It's all about the extraterrestrials.
• 29:50
Is it not possible that in the remote past- So we're getting towards the end of the show, but does anyone talk about the fact that Paul finally released a C clamp? Who, huh? Paul?
• 30:02
Isn't that what I sent you guys a link for? I don't know. Where is it? It was, I sent you a link, save it for the show. Oh, I don't know. Yeah. I didn't see that. You have to notice. I'll look, I'll look, I'll look.
• 30:11
Let me go back here. I don't know how to do that. Let me go back here. BikeRumor, Chri- oh, I'm sorry, Chris King. Ah. Oh, yes, I did see that. Chris King seat post collar finally. [laughs] Finally.
• 30:20
Yeah, I think Paul made one that was only a specific size. Oh my God. Oh my God, look at those things up there. They're Japanese beetles. There's three of them right there.
• 30:27
Oh my God, I've, I vacuumed like 4,000 out of my house. Oh. Well, don't- Uh, you think-... don't pull one of these ceiling tiles down in this room- Oh, it's horrible, man... 'cause there may be a bunch up there.
• 30:36
I don't know. Yeah. I, and Cleon's freaking out Like, I literally have had thousands in our house. There's an outbreak that is out of control right now in the RW. Preda- predators- All right. Oh... posing as pets. Yeah.
• 30:50
But they're, they're- Well, no... they're, they're cute like a ladybug, but they- Yeah But they bite...
• 30:54
but they bite Nobody wants to fuck with a ladybug- And they, and no animals will eat them- But you wanna fuck with these... 'cause they taste like shit according to what I've read.
• 31:00
Well, they're invasive too, so somebody- They're heavily invasive... gotta get rid of those little bastards. I'm not exaggerating. I've, I've vacuumed up- Oh, yeah... at least 1,000 in my house. Oh, look at that...
• 31:11
the back door. They sneak in the back door, motherfuckers. Tony can see the, can see the big clock. Look at- 6:31. Look at the big clock. It- Show's over... so I'm, I'm gonna have that for when people- Wow.
• 31:20
That's like a-... when people are using the studio... that's an Arnold, Arnold Palmer-sized clock. Yeah. [laughs] There you go. Way, way to bring that up. Mm-hmm.
• 31:28
What was the, the best post I read was, uh, Stormy Daniels. He's all man. He's no Arnold Palmer. [laughs] She would know. That's good. Right on. Supposedly. All right. Next week, folks. He's all man.
• 31:39
No, he's- No, he's not. He's- Vote for Pedro... we'll be here- No... we'll be here for show 278 next week, guys. Arnold Palmer is a half man, half a lemonade. Yeah. Mm. Jon Stewart... Okay.
• 31:50
It, he, it landed better for him. Hey, does anybody even order Arnold Palmers anymore? Not anymore. Yeah. All right then. Bye. I do.
• 31:58
