- 0:36Speaker 1: The indoors Man.
- 0:40Speaker 2: What is happening? I'm Rob Quiz Good, I'm and we
- 0:45Speaker 2: are the Avid Indoorsman. Hello everyone, Hello everyone. How are
- 0:50Speaker 2: you today? Sir?
- 0:51Speaker 3: I'm doing pretty well. But there was a short part
- 0:55Speaker 3: of time where a moment in time where I thought
- 0:59Speaker 3: we were going to get a bunch of snow today,
- 1:01Speaker 3: and that doesn't seem to be happening.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah, So I had kept getting updates that were like
- 1:08Speaker 2: winter storm. Well that's what I was on watch, and
- 1:13Speaker 2: I was in Nashville. We were shooting some music videos
- 1:16Speaker 2: down there, and I was supposed to come home today. Yeah,
- 1:22Speaker 2: like ten thirty or eleven is when I was supposed
- 1:24Speaker 2: to leave. And I kept seeing that that is when
- 1:27Speaker 2: we were supposed to get right now cool and so
- 1:31Speaker 2: we kind of rocked through our videos. It was so
- 1:35Speaker 2: efficient this time. Jimmy Bates, that guy, he's the best.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Also shoot to get him back on here.
- 1:41Speaker 3: But I know he's so busy.
- 1:42Speaker 2: But I loved it very muchy with a baby on
- 1:45Speaker 2: the way, but lovely for music videos two days. He
- 1:49Speaker 2: was so efficient, it was incredible.
- 1:51Speaker 3: He's the best.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I finished so early on yesterday that I was able
- 1:58Speaker 2: to take the last flight out, and I was like,
- 1:59Speaker 2: that's perfect because I was kind of nervous I was
- 2:02Speaker 2: going to get stuck with this huge storm that was coming.
- 2:06Speaker 3: How wonderful. But yes, it wouldn't have mattered, as it turned.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Out, wouldn't have mattered even for a second.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Though quite windy maybe, I don't know if that would
- 2:15Speaker 3: stopped anything. Quite windy though, so it is windy anyway.
- 2:20Speaker 3: That's the weather update in Minnesota. How's everybody so good?
- 2:27Speaker 3: How video shoots were good? Shots were good.
- 2:30Speaker 2: It was like they had some good food while we
- 2:32Speaker 2: were down there. I mean, it really felt like a
- 2:35Speaker 2: breeze this time. A lot of like if you would
- 2:37Speaker 2: have said a few years ago that we were going
- 2:40Speaker 2: to shoot four music videos in two days, I'm like,
- 2:43Speaker 2: oh my god. But two of them, two of them
- 2:47Speaker 2: were even collaborations, and they were super really wow.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Yeah, usually that and not not that it's anyone's fault.
- 2:54Speaker 3: You just get another person and it's just.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Another schedule, and usually you know, it's a little more,
- 3:01Speaker 2: a little more intensive a shoot. But yeah, dude, it
- 3:04Speaker 2: was so great.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Yeah, that great.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Thanks for good.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Did you see any movies while you were there?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Perhaps I didn't have that much time, but but what
- 3:14Speaker 2: I have been seeing some movies. Yeah, I've been getting
- 3:17Speaker 2: back into watching the A twenty four films. Oh how fun. Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 2: And one of the newer ones that currently is only
- 3:24Speaker 2: available to rent that I watched it's on the Delta
- 3:28Speaker 2: flights as well, was Baby Girl with Nicole Kidman.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I've heard a lot about this.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yep, it's Nicole Kidman. It's Harris Dickinson from nineteen seventeen
- 3:40Speaker 2: and the Iron Claw and Antonio and Benderis. And I
- 3:45Speaker 2: didn't see him in any of the yeah things. I
- 3:49Speaker 2: didn't know he was in it until I started watching it. Cool,
- 3:52Speaker 2: It's not my favorite film I've ever seen. Nicole Kidman
- 3:57Speaker 2: was impressive, as she usually is. She plays the CEO
- 4:01Speaker 2: of a company that is unfulfilled in her marriage, and
- 4:06Speaker 2: she starts an affair with a much younger intern. Oh
- 4:11Speaker 2: and so yeah, she's this like super powerful woman and
- 4:14Speaker 2: her thing is she wants to be dominated and her
- 4:18Speaker 2: husband isn't super doesn't really get it, so she kind
- 4:23Speaker 2: of goes outside the marriage. And it's very intense. It's stressful.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Made me feel kind of icky. Sure, but it's it's
- 4:35Speaker 2: well acted, it's well made. Some people might really like it,
- 4:42Speaker 2: like it just just the plotline alone. I kind of
- 4:47Speaker 2: went in being like, I'm probably.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Probably isn't for me.
- 4:50Speaker 2: But yeah, yeah, man, but I watched it, and I'm certainly.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Not excited to see it, that's for sure.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I wasn't excited to see it, and
- 5:02Speaker 2: I wasn't excited to watch it. I don't know what it.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Is about her. I think she's very good. She she's
- 5:08Speaker 3: a little bit. I just don't I don't really get it.
- 5:11Speaker 3: For some reason, she's never been one of my like
- 5:13Speaker 3: fab fabes. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know why
- 5:18Speaker 3: I can get it.
- 5:18Speaker 2: She does so much though, she really she works, she's
- 5:22Speaker 2: and she's really good.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Like I said, I'm not it's definitely not that. It's
- 5:26Speaker 3: just I don't know something about her.
- 5:27Speaker 2: No, she was really really good in this role. I
- 5:30Speaker 2: think had it been a little bit lighter of a
- 5:33Speaker 2: performing year, she might have gotten a nod. Even she's
- 5:36Speaker 2: she's doing some buzz for it.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Maybe I'm just sick of her because I see her
- 5:40Speaker 4: before every AMC movie.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Nice. Nice, Okay, well that's cool.
- 5:46Speaker 3: I'll have to check that out at some point.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Maybe maybe don't go out of your way.
- 5:50Speaker 4: I probably won't, to be honest.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but what what have you been watching?
- 5:56Speaker 3: I went to the theater and saw a movie that
- 5:59Speaker 3: I think you should to.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Go out of your way to see.
- 6:02Speaker 3: I saw Novacane.
- 6:04Speaker 2: You thought it was that good? Huh?
- 6:06Speaker 3: I thought it was pretty pretty fun. I think you
- 6:09Speaker 3: especially will like it just knowing, you know, we have
- 6:11Speaker 3: similar tastes in movies. Usually it's a real silly, good
- 6:16Speaker 3: time for the most part, but there is some like
- 6:20Speaker 3: darkness to the comedy, but it never goes too far
- 6:23Speaker 3: in that direction. A lot of action stuff that's happening,
- 6:28Speaker 3: and just sort of that kind of idea of like
- 6:31Speaker 3: the guy who gets to be something he didn't think
- 6:34Speaker 3: he was, you know, And I just say guy, like
- 6:36Speaker 3: it doesn't have to be gender specific, but it is
- 6:38Speaker 3: in this case.
- 6:40Speaker 2: And I like those kind of movies.
- 6:41Speaker 3: They're fun. I don't know, I have a good time
- 6:43Speaker 3: with them. This features, of course Jack Quaid, who's great.
- 6:48Speaker 3: He's so funny. I really really like him and he's
- 6:51Speaker 3: in a million things. And Amber mid Thunder is in
- 6:54Speaker 3: this one, who we know from Prey and a few
- 6:58Speaker 3: other things I think recently, but she's really really wonderful
- 7:01Speaker 3: in this too. It's a super interesting movie that it's
- 7:05Speaker 3: called novacane because the guy has a genetic disorder where
- 7:08Speaker 3: he can't feel pain basically, and chaos ensues from there
- 7:13Speaker 3: and he uses that sort of as a weap of
- 7:17Speaker 3: fighting bad guys.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so I hadn't heard anything about it until we
- 7:22Speaker 2: saw the preview four at Mickey seventeen.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Yeah. I hadn't really either. And it's not like amazing, amazing,
- 7:27Speaker 3: but pretty good time, pretty fun. He's really charismatic, which
- 7:32Speaker 3: I think really carries it, and she's good. They have
- 7:34Speaker 3: good chemistry together. So I definitely recommend it if you
- 7:37Speaker 3: think you want to see like a kind of just
- 7:39Speaker 3: a silly action comedy movie too. Yeah, I think you'll
- 7:44Speaker 3: like it. For sure, Nice Love. Have you been streaming
- 7:48Speaker 3: anything fun?
- 7:48Speaker 2: I have another kind of action y It's it's not
- 7:51Speaker 2: too silly, Okay, it's more dramatic these days. But dared
- 7:57Speaker 2: to have al Born again on Disney Plus. Have you
- 7:58Speaker 2: been watching yet?
- 8:00Speaker 3: Just watched the first episode last night?
- 8:02Speaker 2: Nice? I like, very cool. Fun it is, it's fun. Yeah,
- 8:06Speaker 2: I'm all caught up when we're recording. It's it's four
- 8:09Speaker 2: episodes in.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Okay, so you're quite a bit more ahead of.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Me, nice yep. Yeah, and they're like almost our episodes,
- 8:17Speaker 2: so yeah, they're substantial. But yeah, it's been really fun
- 8:21Speaker 2: seeing Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock again. That universe that started
- 8:26Speaker 2: on Netflix was just so good. It's good to see
- 8:29Speaker 2: it back. Finally, Charlie Cox doesn't seem to have aged
- 8:34Speaker 2: at all. So impressive, weird. I mean, that had to
- 8:39Speaker 2: have been ten years ago on Netflix, right, I think?
- 8:42Speaker 2: I mean, it just doesn't look like it looks like
- 8:45Speaker 2: it's been a day. It's just crazy. Vincent and Afrio
- 8:50Speaker 2: is back as Wilson Fisk, and we'd seen him recently
- 8:53Speaker 2: with Was It Echo series? Yeah?
- 8:57Speaker 4: Or was it.
- 8:58Speaker 2: The definitely an Echo? He might have been some other things.
- 9:02Speaker 3: He was in Nighthaw or what was the Christmasy one
- 9:07Speaker 3: with Yolena Guy Hawkeye? He was in Hawkeye as well.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Right, I don't know, but Echo he's got to Yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 2: you're right, I don't know, but he's just great. He's
- 9:18Speaker 2: great in that role. Yeah, only four episodes out currently,
- 9:23Speaker 2: but I've enjoyed all of them, and yeah, it's just
- 9:26Speaker 2: it's just fun. And in the fourth episode we see
- 9:32Speaker 2: another character.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Oh okay, cool spoiler city. I like this.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I'm not gonna tell you who, but I like it.
- 9:39Speaker 2: There's it. I have thought it's cool.
- 9:41Speaker 3: That's cool. Yeah, I'm excited. The first episode was like
- 9:45Speaker 3: kind of bring you back in and reset the table
- 9:47Speaker 3: if you like.
- 9:48Speaker 4: And I enjoyed all that, so I'm sure I like
- 9:50Speaker 4: the rest of it.
- 9:51Speaker 2: But they did something really dumb in episode one. Yeah
- 9:55Speaker 2: I don't.
- 9:56Speaker 3: I just have to see the rest of the season
- 9:58Speaker 3: to see if that it's worth it. But yeah, I
- 10:00Speaker 3: definitely have thoughts about that for sure. But pretty fun
- 10:05Speaker 3: and high quality. So that's good, VeryE to see, nice
- 10:09Speaker 3: to see. Love it, very cool.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Let's do some plugs.
- 10:13Speaker 3: I haven't told you what I'm streaming. Does that matter?
- 10:16Speaker 2: Oh?
- 10:16Speaker 3: We went out of order, right.
- 10:18Speaker 2: We did. I thought you were going to talk. I
- 10:19Speaker 2: thought you were talking about well I'm dumb.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, let's do some plugs.
- 10:23Speaker 2: You guys can he too. No, we can do that
- 10:26Speaker 2: if you if you prepared something. I want to know
- 10:29Speaker 2: what you're streaming.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Well, I streamed a movie on HBO Max and it's
- 10:33Speaker 3: I only bring it up because we've talked about it
- 10:35Speaker 3: a number of times. It's from nineteen hundred and eighty eight.
- 10:38Speaker 3: I watched Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
- 10:41Speaker 2: See. I'm really glad that we went here because I
- 10:44Speaker 2: really want to hear your thoughts on this. This movie
- 10:46Speaker 2: is wonderful.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I had a amazing dude. Yeah, I loved it. It
- 10:51Speaker 3: was so nice to see Michael Caine as a young
- 10:54Speaker 3: man and I don't even think fifty at that, right, right,
- 10:57Speaker 3: but way younger than I seen him in quite some time.
- 11:02Speaker 3: But it's Michael Kaine and Steve Martin in it. Uh,
- 11:05Speaker 3: it's just really, really, really great. I didn't know that
- 11:09Speaker 3: Glenn Headley had passed away, I guess, or I knew
- 11:13Speaker 3: that and forgot I guess.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Recently with not too long ago or something.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Yeah, so that's a bummer. But you know things happened.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Ian McDermott being in there really through me for a loose.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I didn't remember that.
- 11:27Speaker 3: He's like a butler guy, and I was just like pine.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I probably didn't even know that at the time I watched.
- 11:38Speaker 3: But yeah, just a super fun movie. It's all about
- 11:41Speaker 3: these two dirty, rotten scoundrels that are sort of like artists,
- 11:45Speaker 3: and you know, they're just out to make their buck,
- 11:47Speaker 3: but they also have like slight differences in the way
- 11:50Speaker 3: they interact with the world, and it's really fun. I
- 11:53Speaker 3: liked it a lot. I really enjoyed it, and I
- 11:55Speaker 3: could see you would rewatching that, you know, down the
- 11:59Speaker 3: line pretty easy, ites really well, like it's great.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I'm sure I gotta rewatch it. It's been a long time.
- 12:05Speaker 3: It's wonderful.
- 12:06Speaker 2: The one scene that always stuck with me and I
- 12:08Speaker 2: just thought it was so funny is when he is
- 12:10Speaker 2: pretending to be Steve Martin is pretending to be the
- 12:13Speaker 2: guy who is paralyzed from the ways down.
- 12:15Speaker 3: My god, yes, and.
- 12:17Speaker 2: So Michael Caine is just whipping him. He's like he
- 12:20Speaker 2: can't feel anything, he can't feel this, and he's just whipping.
- 12:25Speaker 3: He's like sobbing, but you know, not out of pain,
- 12:29Speaker 3: just like thank you. Yes, it's so good.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I will treat him because he's like doctor. Yeah.
- 12:36Speaker 3: The physical comedy in it is really really great.
- 12:40Speaker 2: It's incredible.
- 12:40Speaker 3: And then just like just these charismatic dudes, you know, like,
- 12:45Speaker 3: yes they're douchebags, you know, but like right, they're so
- 12:48Speaker 3: fun and you still like them somehow, which is fun.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a great time.
- 12:54Speaker 2: That's awesome, and they turned that into a musical I know,
- 12:58Speaker 2: which crazy.
- 12:59Speaker 3: I kind of want to see now because I think
- 13:01Speaker 3: it really could work. It really Yeah, I was musical first,
- 13:06Speaker 3: or was this first? Because I was like I can
- 13:08Speaker 3: see it go, you know. Yeah, but who did you say?
- 13:12Speaker 3: I'm sorry I missed.
- 13:12Speaker 2: It, John lithgow Is, I think the Michael and I
- 13:18Speaker 2: don't remember that.
- 13:19Speaker 3: I bet that was great. Li Cow I don't remember
- 13:22Speaker 3: if we've talked about this, but gonna be Dumbledore in
- 13:25Speaker 3: the new Harry Potter thing.
- 13:27Speaker 2: We did talk about that. It's crazy.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that'll be great. I think that'll be great.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Oh yeah, we talked about with Riley maybe think so
- 13:34Speaker 3: it's neither here nor there, but what is here? And
- 13:38Speaker 3: there is the Internet, and so let's do some plugs. Yes,

- 14:44Speaker 2: we finally got to it. Our top five favorite hot
- 14:47Speaker 2: tub scenes in movies.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I I am quickly becoming of the opinion that
- 14:54Speaker 3: coming up with the topic for the draft is the
- 14:56Speaker 3: hardest part of doing this show.
- 14:58Speaker 2: It's getting it's getting to it's getting tougher after three
- 15:02Speaker 2: hundred some episodes.
- 15:03Speaker 3: I also feel like I don't have any ideas anymore.
- 15:06Speaker 3: I'm always just like, I don't know.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Is it a popular actor, let's see top five of
- 15:11Speaker 2: their movies is always my own.
- 15:13Speaker 3: I just don't want to think about it anymore.
- 15:15Speaker 2: No, Yeah, but this one, this one will actually it
- 15:18Speaker 2: was kind of fun.
- 15:19Speaker 3: It'll be really fun when we get there. It's always
- 15:21Speaker 3: a good time. So make sure to check that out
- 15:23Speaker 3: for sure. And we're doing that because we're here today
- 15:26Speaker 3: to talk about a film called The Hot Up Time
- 15:29Speaker 3: Machine celebrating its fifteenth anniversary, which is wild. This is
- 15:35Speaker 3: a movie all about going back in time to a
- 15:38Speaker 3: time when you hung out with your pals. You didn't
- 15:40Speaker 3: have much of a future, and so we had to
- 15:42Speaker 3: get a guy who has lived up to that has
- 15:44Speaker 3: not really lived up to anything. We've known him a
- 15:47Speaker 3: long time. We think he's we think he's fine. No,
- 15:50Speaker 3: he's He's a wonderful man, very successful. Let's give it
- 15:53Speaker 3: up once again for Brandon Miller.
- 15:56Speaker 2: What's up, Brandon, great white Buffalo.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Nice. Hi, how are you. We are doing quite well
- 16:08Speaker 3: on a cold Wednesday. Yeah, it's not snowing, though we
- 16:12Speaker 3: said that earlier. We were like, oh, I heard we
- 16:14Speaker 3: were getting snow, and then it didn't happen. Yeah, it
- 16:16Speaker 3: kind of took a dive south at the last minute.
- 16:20Speaker 5: Yeah, that wasn't here.
- 16:22Speaker 2: I'm not mad at it. I feel like the last
- 16:24Speaker 2: time that when we got like that foot of snow
- 16:27Speaker 2: like two weeks ago, they really undersold it, which almost
- 16:31Speaker 2: never happened.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Alas the opposite, right, it was so weird.
- 16:34Speaker 2: It was like, yeah, we might get like three inches
- 16:36Speaker 2: or something, and then yeah, we got like ten inches
- 16:39Speaker 2: down here.
- 16:40Speaker 3: It was nuts.
- 16:41Speaker 5: So I was in I was in San Francisco for work,
- 16:44Speaker 5: sure when that happened, and that's right.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:47Speaker 5: Yeah, came home like three days later and it was
- 16:50Speaker 5: already aggressively melting.
- 16:51Speaker 3: So I missed the the ugly part of that one. Yeah,
- 16:55Speaker 3: I was dumb.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it went right up into the sixties right after that. Yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Yeah, because I've ridden my motorcycle twice already.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Have you really?
- 17:04Speaker 3: Yeah? Oh, I know that that's awesome.
- 17:06Speaker 5: Last Friday was almost eighty degrees, so why not?
- 17:09Speaker 2: That's nuts.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it's pretty pretty wild out here, but it's crazy anyway.
- 17:14Speaker 2: We're happy to have you, pal. It's almost hot tub weather.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Oh every weather is hot tub weather.
- 17:23Speaker 2: I think we should get right into it. Should we start.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Talking some hot tub time machine?
- 17:27Speaker 2: I think we should. Let's do that.
- 17:29Speaker 3: We are you gonna start with the roughs and upse
- 17:31Speaker 3: shure up.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Four pals are stuck in a rut in adulthood. Adam
- 17:36Speaker 2: has just been dumped, Lou is a hopeless party animal,
- 17:40Speaker 2: Craig is a henpecked husband, and Jacob does nothing but
- 17:44Speaker 2: play video games in his basement. But they get a
- 17:47Speaker 2: chance to brighten their future by changing their past after
- 17:50Speaker 2: a night of heavy drinking and a ski resort hot
- 17:53Speaker 2: tub results in they're waking up in nineteen eighty six.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Nice, hen pecked, who's that you?
- 18:03Speaker 2: Says?
- 18:03Speaker 3: The actor's name, not the character's name for that one.
- 18:06Speaker 2: But dude, his name is Craig. It's Nick. Oh, it's Nick.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Why did they put Craig in there?
- 18:15Speaker 2: That's weird. That's weird. Yeah, I man, I just get
- 18:19Speaker 2: it from Google, so that is weird. And then I
- 18:21Speaker 2: went through and I was like, okay, so I was
- 18:23Speaker 2: going through my actors whatever, and I know I've put
- 18:26Speaker 2: Craig Robinson as Craig.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Craig Robinson's Craig Robinson. Smart. Sorry, mister weber anew.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Yeah, Nick weber Agne weber An.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Let's go to Rotten Tomatoes and hear what they have
- 18:44Speaker 3: to say. Critics have it coming in at a not
- 18:46Speaker 3: great sixty four percent. It's not awesome, plas great a
- 18:51Speaker 3: silly comedy movie.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Better than I would expect from the critics on this one.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know what's not better than I expected audience.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Myumbers at fifty six percent.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Shocked.
- 19:04Speaker 3: I'm genuinely shocked by that. I thought people at least
- 19:07Speaker 3: thought this movie was like pretty good, like forgettably good
- 19:10Speaker 3: or something.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, you know, all of our dumb friends
- 19:14Speaker 2: enjoy this one a lot, So I don't know.
- 19:17Speaker 3: That's weird. I'm really surprised by that. I think to
- 19:20Speaker 3: really interesting. But anyway, let's go in here what we
- 19:23Speaker 3: have to say. Let's it's time for our hot take.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Hot take that's a hot take.
- 19:29Speaker 2: That's a hot take.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Oh too hot in the hot Oh like that.
- 19:36Speaker 4: I was gonna do Great White Buffalo there, but Brandon
- 19:38Speaker 4: already did it.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Oh it can keep killing it. Oh yeah, yeah, great
- 19:43Speaker 2: White Buffalo.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Love it. I just whispered it. You might not heard it,
- 19:47Speaker 3: but I whispered it too.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Great White Buffalo, Great White Buffalo.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I'll make those really loud. I'll be recording.
- 19:53Speaker 2: It'll be great my ears.
- 19:55Speaker 5: When I was waiting for you guys to let me in,
- 19:57Speaker 5: I actually tested it to make sure my mic would
- 19:59Speaker 5: pick it up.
- 20:00Speaker 2: That's a man who thinks ahead.
- 20:03Speaker 3: I love that. I love that. I will go first
- 20:07Speaker 3: on this one. I like this movie a lot. I
- 20:09Speaker 3: can remember seeing it for the first time thinking it
- 20:13Speaker 3: was pretty hysterical. It's got like a super dumb title
- 20:17Speaker 3: that tells you every single thing you need to know
- 20:19Speaker 3: about it, but.
- 20:20Speaker 2: It also in the best way.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Does that I feel like, and I feel like that
- 20:24Speaker 3: is indicative of the rest of the movie. They don't
- 20:26Speaker 3: worry about, you know, like dressing things up too much.
- 20:29Speaker 3: They're just like, this is a funny, silly situation. Enjoy
- 20:34Speaker 3: you know, don't think about it too hard, but enjoy
- 20:37Speaker 3: and you know, have a great Debaucheri's time. I think
- 20:40Speaker 3: it's really fun. It's a fish out of water story,
- 20:44Speaker 3: right essentially, you know, with the time travel portion. I
- 20:48Speaker 3: love those. It's a fun take on the sort of
- 20:51Speaker 3: like back to the futury kind of idea of time travel.
- 20:55Speaker 3: And yeah, I just think it's really funny. The eighties
- 20:58Speaker 3: are such a spoofable time period that it's really great
- 21:01Speaker 3: for that, I feel like with the clothing and just
- 21:04Speaker 3: everything in general. And yeah, I don't honestly, I don't
- 21:08Speaker 3: really have a hot take other than I like this
- 21:10Speaker 3: movie and I think it's a good time. I guess
- 21:14Speaker 3: that's it. I don't know. There's a lot of great
- 21:16Speaker 3: actors in it too that I didn't remember. We're all
- 21:19Speaker 3: in it, So yeah, that's all I got, though, I
- 21:22Speaker 3: don't know. I didn't have anything super impressive to say.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Hot take hot hot. I also thought this movie was hilarious,
- 21:32Speaker 2: so when it came out, I was a big fan,
- 21:35Speaker 2: and I really I watched it like the couple times
- 21:38Speaker 2: when it first came out. I haven't seen it since,
- 21:40Speaker 2: so it's been a long time. It was a really
- 21:42Speaker 2: fun rewatch. Nice. It was directed by Steve Pink, and
- 21:47Speaker 2: he had worked with John Cusack on a couple other films.
- 21:50Speaker 2: He wrote the screenplay for a Gross point Blank, which
- 21:54Speaker 2: we've done an episode on, and my favorite of John
- 21:58Speaker 2: Cusack's High Fidela just kind of cool.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Makes sense why we like this movie? Then?
- 22:03Speaker 2: I yeah? He also then you know he was directing
- 22:06Speaker 2: things he directed, accepted one of your faves. Oh I
- 22:10Speaker 2: love this guy, I know. And he did the other
- 22:14Speaker 2: hot Top time Machine as well, which is too bad.
- 22:18Speaker 3: That's good.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Oh brutal.
- 22:20Speaker 3: That's Adam Scott in that one, right, it is. Yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I was written by Sean Anders and John Morris, who
- 22:27Speaker 2: have written a bunch of comedies like She's out of
- 22:29Speaker 2: My League.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Oh my god, this is no wonder. I love this movie.
- 22:33Speaker 2: We're the Millers Wow movies. Yeah, so pretty great. Uh
- 22:41Speaker 2: but yeah, this is kind of a typical dude comedy.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Bunch of buddies getting drunk and partying, but in the
- 22:45Speaker 2: middle of it we have a time machine that brings
- 22:47Speaker 2: them back in the eighties. So much fun, the outfits,
- 22:50Speaker 2: like you said, the music, everything was so great. I
- 22:54Speaker 2: loved how the people who made this film just make
- 22:57Speaker 2: fun of the plot all the time. Yeah, breaking the
- 23:01Speaker 2: fourth Wall after Craig Robinson says it's a hot tub
- 23:05Speaker 2: time machine and then just dead pants to the camera.
- 23:08Speaker 3: One of my favorite parts of the movie.
- 23:10Speaker 2: It's so great they reference how ridiculous the premises all
- 23:15Speaker 2: the time. They make fun of the science in time travel,
- 23:20Speaker 2: time traveling movies, they make fun of the popular eighties movies,
- 23:25Speaker 2: and it's so funny because they have a popular eighties
- 23:28Speaker 2: star in John Cusack, so he's pretty much making fun
- 23:31Speaker 2: of the beginning of his career. Is just so fun
- 23:36Speaker 2: on so many different levels. Like you said, the cast
- 23:40Speaker 2: is really fun. The four main characters are all so different,
- 23:44Speaker 2: yet the vibe was pretty cool. It was hilarious seeing
- 23:49Speaker 2: Sebastian Stan and this role as he's gotten to be
- 23:52Speaker 2: such a big name actor and like the Marvel movies,
- 23:55Speaker 2: the big dramas and all that I had forgotten, it
- 23:58Speaker 2: was him, Like I didn't even know that that was
- 24:01Speaker 2: who the antagonist was. Hot take. I wish they'd make
- 24:06Speaker 2: more ridiculous comedies like this. I miss them when they're
- 24:10Speaker 2: actually clever and really funny like this one. Yeah, but
- 24:13Speaker 2: if they all come out like you know, Hot Tub
- 24:16Speaker 2: time Machine two, then they can stay gone because that
- 24:18Speaker 2: was garbage. But yeah, and another hot take. Rob Qurdrey
- 24:25Speaker 2: is hilarious and I don't understand why I don't see
- 24:29Speaker 2: him as much anymore what he been doing. It looks
- 24:33Speaker 2: like he's been doing like random TV stuff from time
- 24:36Speaker 2: to time, but like, sure, he is so funny. I
- 24:40Speaker 2: just don't understand. Yeah, but yeah, that's all I got.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Love it, hot take, man, what do you got?
- 24:48Speaker 5: I did not do the deep dive that Rob went
- 24:51Speaker 5: through there, but I love This movie is terrible and
- 24:56Speaker 5: I love it. Yes, there are few things, like any
- 25:01Speaker 5: movie that came out around that time that did not
- 25:03Speaker 5: age well, and I did still laugh at them in
- 25:05Speaker 5: twenty twenty five, so there.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Was that things about me too, I guess.
- 25:09Speaker 5: But yeah, like I don't have much else to say
- 25:17Speaker 5: that is adding to what you guys both said, But
- 25:20Speaker 5: I do.
- 25:22Speaker 2: This one is one of those ones like.
- 25:24Speaker 5: Rob, where I haven't watched it in a while, and
- 25:27Speaker 5: it was fun to see it again. It's not one
- 25:30Speaker 5: that I in the in the rotation where you come
- 25:32Speaker 5: back to often, but yeah, it was. It was fun
- 25:37Speaker 5: to revisit it, and a lot of stuff that happened
- 25:39Speaker 5: in the movie that I didn't remember from watching it
- 25:41Speaker 5: like fifteen years ago.
- 25:43Speaker 3: So yeah, totally, there's a lot.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Of you did you watch the unrated version because there
- 25:48Speaker 2: were two different versions? Yeah, me too too.
- 25:50Speaker 3: I did too.
- 25:51Speaker 5: Actually Max had both of them, and I just watched
- 25:53Speaker 5: the unrated.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Ones, same same, and I was like, I couldn't remember
- 25:58Speaker 2: what was different from.
- 26:00Speaker 5: Everything everything I really saw. I was just like, I'm
- 26:03Speaker 5: pretty sure this is basically the same movie that right,
- 26:07Speaker 5: whatever the other version is, but.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Like two minutes longer or something. So I actually love
- 26:13Speaker 3: to compare the two and they're not that much different,
- 26:15Speaker 3: So it must just be a few line reads are
- 26:18Speaker 3: slightly more raunchy, and then one extra scene or something.
- 26:21Speaker 2: So the one I was wondering because I don't know
- 26:24Speaker 2: that I remembered Craig Robinson throwing the poopy key at
- 26:29Speaker 2: Thomas Lennon. Did that happen before? I think I did. Okay, yucky,
- 26:34Speaker 2: Yeah that was yucky.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Maybe maybe he throws it, but he doesn't show him
- 26:39Speaker 3: like catching it, you know, like I'm just like, leave
- 26:41Speaker 3: a little more.
- 26:42Speaker 2: To the imagination or something.
- 26:45Speaker 3: They really, whoever made that prop really went for it
- 26:48Speaker 3: with that poop too, put bits of things in it. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:52Speaker 3: for sure, except Doug.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I did not remember the name of the company.
- 27:00Speaker 3: That's pretty great.
- 27:01Speaker 2: That's pretty great. Do you have anything more, Brando?
- 27:05Speaker 5: No, I think that'll do it.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Awesome hot take.
- 27:09Speaker 3: Hot takes all around. Let's go talk about our favorite
- 27:12Speaker 3: acting performance. Let's name the.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Dude the dude.
- 27:15Speaker 6: I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, you
- 27:18Speaker 6: know that? Or his dudeness or duder or you know,
- 27:24Speaker 6: el dudo Reno. If you're not into the whole brevity.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Thing, Brandon, why don't you go first on this? Who's
- 27:28Speaker 3: your dude?
- 27:29Speaker 5: I think they were trying to go and at least
- 27:32Speaker 5: in the beginning of it, that kind of John Cusack
- 27:35Speaker 5: is the main guy, but I'm giving it to Craig Robinson.
- 27:39Speaker 2: I get that.
- 27:41Speaker 5: I love him and everything he's in. I also feel
- 27:43Speaker 5: like in everything he's in, he just plays himself and
- 27:46Speaker 5: it's hilarious every time. Absolute he seems like the kind
- 27:50Speaker 5: of guy that I would love to hang out with.
- 27:52Speaker 5: So that's just he like the way he delivers all
- 27:55Speaker 5: of his lines makes me laugh even when he's not
- 27:58Speaker 5: necessarily saying something funny and basically the.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Same and everything he's in he cracks me up every time.
- 28:04Speaker 2: So yeah, he's dude, I get it. I think I
- 28:08Speaker 2: told you exists before. But one of the last times
- 28:11Speaker 2: I was in LA I saw Craig Robinson at the Improv,
- 28:15Speaker 2: the Hollywood Improv, and he was a riot.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Dude.
- 28:19Speaker 2: He was so funny performing. Yeah, he was doing stand
- 28:22Speaker 2: up and he does a lot of musical stuff during
- 28:26Speaker 2: his stand up. You know, he's like he's like he's
- 28:29Speaker 2: he prefaced it, just like, hey, I'm going to be
- 28:32Speaker 2: going for a long time. Most of you people will
- 28:36Speaker 2: not still be here when I'm done. And he was
- 28:39Speaker 2: not kidding. When we stayed for over two hours of
- 28:43Speaker 2: it and so many people had left, and it was
- 28:45Speaker 2: so funny. Whenever people would leave, he'd like kind of
- 28:48Speaker 2: roast them as they left, and or he'd say just
- 28:52Speaker 2: hilarious stuff like oh, I was just about to say
- 28:55Speaker 2: some some about the office, like back, you know, behind
- 28:59Speaker 2: the scene story is about Yeah, it's really good, so good.
- 29:04Speaker 6: Uh.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Anyway that I definitely thought about him. It was kind
- 29:09Speaker 2: of neck and neck between him and Rob Quadry for me,
- 29:12Speaker 2: and I just love how horrible Rob Quadry is in
- 29:18Speaker 2: this just he's just a despicable person. Yeah, And but
- 29:22Speaker 2: I find it's so entertaining. I think he's he's very
- 29:25Speaker 2: willing to just like get naked and just be goofy,
- 29:29Speaker 2: and like he was just he went for it in
- 29:33Speaker 2: every scene. Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna give it to Rob Quadry.
- 29:39Speaker 3: That's what I have. The same thing Robi really like
- 29:41Speaker 3: and the same kind of internal struggle because I sort
- 29:44Speaker 3: of was like, well, qu sex who they wanted, right,
- 29:46Speaker 3: he was the star power. I get that. Yeah, And
- 29:49Speaker 3: I was like, Craig Robinson's always great. He might as
- 29:51Speaker 3: well be Darryl from the office in this like it's
- 29:53Speaker 3: the same, you know, same dude. But yeah, Rob Cordory
- 29:57Speaker 3: just he knocked me out in this movie. He's so far,
- 30:00Speaker 3: so inappropriate, so terrible, not like a great friend, you know,
- 30:05Speaker 3: a friend, But man, is he funny.
- 30:08Speaker 2: He's so funny. He's a bad friend, but he expects
- 30:11Speaker 2: his friends to be there for l like he's the violator.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Yes, he is the violator. The recurring theme of him
- 30:20Speaker 3: getting his ass kicked was really it was so great,
- 30:23Speaker 3: especially because you were like, yeah, kick his ass, you know,
- 30:26Speaker 3: like a little bit You're like, yeah, yeah, I just
- 30:30Speaker 3: I really liked him, so I love it. But there's
- 30:35Speaker 3: a lot of other great people. So should we name
- 30:37Speaker 3: them and go to the Tucci Tucci we got for
- 30:41Speaker 3: this one, Brandon.
- 30:43Speaker 5: I had a few candidates for this one too, with
- 30:46Speaker 5: the I mean, I do enjoy like Clark Duke and.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Everything he's in.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Yeah, so funny, funny.
- 30:53Speaker 5: But I'm I'm actually gonna go with Crisp and Glover.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Dude, love that because.
- 31:00Speaker 5: A recurring character throughout the movie. Yes, kind of has
- 31:03Speaker 5: the one bit and the one gag throughout.
- 31:05Speaker 2: But it's funny every time, right, yeah movie, so yes, right,
- 31:16Speaker 2: that's hilarious.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Yeah, that's so good.
- 31:18Speaker 2: It's like the only other thing we know him from.
- 31:20Speaker 2: I mean, I guess he was in what like Charlie's
- 31:22Speaker 2: Angel or something.
- 31:22Speaker 3: But but what I was gonna say, it was like,
- 31:25Speaker 3: this is the only thing I remember him from. And
- 31:27Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure I felt that way in twenty ten too.
- 31:29Speaker 3: I was like, it's that guy.
- 31:30Speaker 5: You know he was in Willard with the movie with
- 31:34Speaker 5: all the Rats. Oh sure that I never actually saw,
- 31:38Speaker 5: but I just remember he was in.
- 31:39Speaker 2: That, right, Yeah, dude, I loved that bit so much.
- 31:43Speaker 2: That is hilarious.
- 31:44Speaker 3: It's a good pick.
- 31:46Speaker 2: I would have probably went with Craig Robinson here, just
- 31:49Speaker 2: for all the things you said it. But yeah, I
- 31:53Speaker 2: gotta give it up for John Cusack. It's amazing that
- 31:55Speaker 2: he even did this movie, Like he did not need
- 32:00Speaker 2: to do this. He and just the fact that he
- 32:05Speaker 2: is making fun of himself pretty much, and those movies
- 32:09Speaker 2: that he got so famous for, but he kind of
- 32:12Speaker 2: had to be the straight guy in this for the
- 32:14Speaker 2: most part. You know, it wasn't my favorite character at all,
- 32:18Speaker 2: but I thought that he did a pretty good job
- 32:21Speaker 2: in what he was given, you know. But yeah, kind
- 32:25Speaker 2: of like a narcissistic not a great friend. It's not
- 32:29Speaker 2: a lot of like redeeming qualities. So like you didn't
- 32:33Speaker 2: really care if he found.
- 32:35Speaker 3: The girl that he of his dream what he did.
- 32:38Speaker 3: You were just like, okay, all.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Right, cool, Yeah, you know, I think they wanted us
- 32:43Speaker 2: to care more, but it just didn't come across that well.
- 32:47Speaker 2: But looks nice.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Nice. I would have picked Clark Duke here, like we said,
- 32:53Speaker 3: I just.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Think he's really really funny. I'm with you on that one, Brandon.
- 32:57Speaker 3: He's like and he's a different brand of humor, much
- 32:59Speaker 3: more like laid back at least then Cordory and Robinson. Yeah,
- 33:06Speaker 3: and so that was just a fun yeah, like sarcastic,
- 33:08Speaker 3: you know.
- 33:09Speaker 5: Or snarky sarcastic.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, exactly, which was was fun, like.
- 33:14Speaker 5: The younger guy hanging out with the older dudes, Andy giving.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Him rot like that. Yeah, so I thought he was
- 33:22Speaker 3: really great. I love Lizzie Kaplan. She doesn't get to
- 33:26Speaker 3: do a whole lot in this movie, but she's in
- 33:29Speaker 3: a number of films that.
- 33:30Speaker 4: I really really like.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I like her a lot.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Yeah, she's really good. And Sebastian Stan was so great
- 33:37Speaker 3: to see him. Like we said earlier, it's just and
- 33:40Speaker 3: he's just kind of an unhinged bad guy, which what
- 33:43Speaker 3: a fun part to play.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Get to eighties Yeah, which is hilarious that they got
- 33:50Speaker 2: Williams ABC.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:52Speaker 2: I was gonna say it's like the same role.
- 33:55Speaker 3: So great. Also, that scene is nuts and I do
- 33:58Speaker 3: remember that and there, Yes, but yeah, I don't know who.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Else had Chevy Chase is the repairman. He was kind
- 34:07Speaker 2: of fun in this.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Yeah, that was a fun. That was a fun like
- 34:10Speaker 3: weird cameo for sure.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Yep, that was good. And Thomas Lennon with the other
- 34:14Speaker 2: cameo we already mentioned see.
- 34:17Speaker 5: As is well documented on this podcast as well as
- 34:21Speaker 5: in my own living room. I'm terrible with actors, and
- 34:24Speaker 5: when I was watching it during that part, I was like, hey,
- 34:27Speaker 5: that's our guy, Joetulio.
- 34:29Speaker 3: It is not it is Thomas Lennon.
- 34:33Speaker 2: I can see that though. Things going on. Yeah, they're
- 34:37Speaker 2: both hilarious, a lot of improv.
- 34:39Speaker 3: They're both treasures.
- 34:41Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I love that. That's great.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Was pretty funny in this.
- 34:46Speaker 2: She was very She was really funny and uh Lindsey
- 34:53Speaker 2: fun Seika she was. She was good in her role too.
- 34:56Speaker 3: She was fine. Again, they didn't ask her to do
- 34:59Speaker 3: very much, so it's a little hard to know what
- 35:01Speaker 3: she did.
- 35:02Speaker 2: She was It was funny.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Yeah, she stabbed him in the eye. That was cool.
- 35:05Speaker 2: She did it was weird, just like when they're you know,
- 35:09Speaker 2: John Cusack was probably field something, so like, you know,
- 35:14Speaker 2: making out with these pretty young ladies was kind of weird.
- 35:17Speaker 3: But yeah, yeah, good work if you can get it though. Yeah, yeah,
- 35:24Speaker 3: I think that's pretty much. I mean, everyone was good
- 35:26Speaker 3: in it, but those are the only big names that
- 35:28Speaker 3: I wrote down. That was.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's most of the folks in the movie.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Everybody did what they needed to do for this one.
- 35:36Speaker 3: They did for sure, and it probably was pretty fun
- 35:39Speaker 3: all the way around. I don't think anyone had to
- 35:41Speaker 3: do anything that was too big of a bummer.
- 35:43Speaker 2: One Honora will mention that that squirrel that squirrel girl
- 35:49Speaker 2: thrown up on and then uh and then goes and
- 35:53Speaker 2: messes the football play up.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Yeah, so he changed John Ally's career, He really did.
- 35:59Speaker 3: They went all out on that puke too. Yeah, maybe
- 36:04Speaker 3: that was the extra, like between the poop and the puke,
- 36:07Speaker 3: that was the extra. Unrated right, nice?
- 36:12Speaker 4: Love that.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Well, let's pick. Let's pick some of our favorite scenes here,
- 36:15Speaker 2: and let's choose the dingus is quite simple, really ingus dingus.
- 36:22Speaker 3: I can talk about my dingas all night long. This one, Brandon,
- 36:26Speaker 3: this one was.
- 36:29Speaker 5: I like this all flows together and yes, a lot
- 36:34Speaker 5: they don't spend a lot of time in anyone's spot
- 36:36Speaker 5: in this one, but agreed. I mean there is like
- 36:40Speaker 5: the initial hot tub scene where all the crazy stuff
- 36:44Speaker 5: going on when they're getting drunk and traveling.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Through time or whatever.
- 36:48Speaker 5: I love that there's the one that the other one
- 36:52Speaker 5: is kind of the sequence from when they're making all
- 36:55Speaker 5: the sports bets on the game into the bathroom afterwards.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Kind is like one scene or one block and that
- 37:05Speaker 5: one sticks out is just gross and funny.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Yes, good for you, man, I know right, I love you.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Don't say that. Don't say that. No no, no, no, no,
- 37:20Speaker 2: no no no, that's good, dude. Those are strong picks.
- 37:27Speaker 2: I after watching it, I so loved that Crispin Glover bit.
- 37:33Speaker 2: So I said, the running Crispin Glover almost all the combined. Yes,
- 37:38Speaker 2: we're just gonna add all of them as one. So
- 37:40Speaker 2: we see him in the beginning with only one arm.
- 37:43Speaker 2: When they go back in time he has both. Then
- 37:45Speaker 2: there's the falling with the chainsaw. We think for sure
- 37:49Speaker 2: that's gonna be it.
- 37:50Speaker 5: And that's just how mad they get every time it.
- 37:54Speaker 3: Again, Cord is just an asshole.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I'm gonna take that arm off you. Like the arm
- 38:00Speaker 2: out of the elevator bit was so funny.
- 38:03Speaker 5: It goes out down, let go of the suitcase, buddy.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Seriously, I was loving all of that so much.
- 38:13Speaker 3: That's pretty great. And it's like it's also a plot device,
- 38:16Speaker 3: so it gets like the the bad guys off their
- 38:19Speaker 3: case at the end, right.
- 38:22Speaker 5: And when John cusacks on the mushrooms or whatever running
- 38:26Speaker 5: through the lobby, he's like, you're gonna lose that army.
- 38:30Speaker 3: Like the Elton John glasses on Okay.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Yeah, that was good.
- 38:38Speaker 3: That's a great pick. I like that a lot. Yeah,
- 38:41Speaker 3: I would have had all those. I also just we've
- 38:44Speaker 3: talked on here and I think we all three you
- 38:46Speaker 3: share this. But someone crying while they're doing something is
- 38:49Speaker 3: always funny. So Craig Robinson crying as he's having sex
- 38:53Speaker 3: with that that's pretty gray, pretty hilarious.
- 38:58Speaker 2: And I never realized that that she had a pretty
- 39:01Speaker 2: big role on Mad Men, that actress. I saw her name, Yeah,
- 39:07Speaker 2: she in the later seasons of Mad Men. She had
- 39:10Speaker 2: a very big role in that cool and I didn't
- 39:13Speaker 2: know that that's who that was.
- 39:14Speaker 5: It's too I think it's too short to be a scene.
- 39:17Speaker 5: But the part where he calls his future wife.
- 39:20Speaker 2: That's my runner up scene.
- 39:22Speaker 3: It is so.
- 39:23Speaker 5: Concerned you Jerry wife.
- 39:32Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Oh that's really just this nine year old just that
- 39:38Speaker 3: look on her face, just like.
- 39:41Speaker 5: Going into detail on what he's picturing that.
- 39:43Speaker 3: She yes, so so good. Also, just the I get
- 39:51Speaker 3: it I'm his father. That whole scene where he's like, oh,
- 39:56Speaker 3: banging his mom, He's.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Trying U SEC's sister.
- 40:02Speaker 3: It's really weird, weird in the room, right, and they're like,
- 40:07Speaker 3: you finish it up, you know what. Yeah, that whole
- 40:11Speaker 3: scene is just dumb but really fun.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Yeah. The only other runner up I had was just
- 40:18Speaker 2: seeing all the things that have changed since Lou stayed back.
- 40:22Speaker 2: So he got super rich, created Logogle yeah, Loogle maps,
- 40:27Speaker 2: and then he was also in Motley Lou.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Yeah. That's so good. What a funny way to end
- 40:32Speaker 3: to with those Gosh, it's also great related to that,
- 40:38Speaker 3: and it's not even from this movie.
- 40:40Speaker 5: It's from the sequel that but my the the one
- 40:43Speaker 5: part of the sequel that I just that just kills
- 40:45Speaker 5: me every time is when because he's like the whole
- 40:48Speaker 5: bit with Nick's character is like he goes into the
- 40:51Speaker 5: back to the future and he's like stealing all these
- 40:53Speaker 5: songs and taking him as his own, and he does
- 40:56Speaker 5: the Lisa Loebe song and she's like the cat Wrangler
- 41:00Speaker 5: and the music video scene and she's.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Like she's like this song is great.
- 41:04Speaker 5: It's just feels so personal and she and then like
- 41:08Speaker 5: she's walking away, he's like, I'm sorry.
- 41:14Speaker 3: That's funny. So that happens in the second one because
- 41:16Speaker 3: I was like, I thought there was more of that
- 41:18Speaker 3: in this first one, but I couldn't really.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Yeah, his his.
- 41:21Speaker 5: Book with that carries over into the second one.
- 41:24Speaker 3: That makes sense. I love that. That's good, hilarious, kind
- 41:30Speaker 3: of all the ones I had written down though.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Same, So we have to choose. Ooh, should we choose
- 41:37Speaker 3: where he's gonna suck his friend's dingus? I mean that
- 41:40Speaker 3: seems appropriate, right.
- 41:44Speaker 2: I can't do it. I can't do that.
- 41:47Speaker 5: Wait, you can't choose the scene or you can't never mind,
- 41:51Speaker 5: but neither.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Definitely not that good of a friend. I guess I'm
- 41:59Speaker 3: happy him talking to his future wife that.
- 42:02Speaker 2: I mean, I laughed really hard and.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Terrible. All right, Well, it doesn't matter, So let's just
- 42:10Speaker 3: pick that one.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Geez love it.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Should we go talk about some of our favorite quotes?
- 42:15Speaker 3: Time to show me the money? Show me? Brandon go
- 42:24Speaker 3: first with a couple of quotes.
- 42:26Speaker 5: Oh man, well, I mean you already did it, but
- 42:29Speaker 5: and it's I think I didn't realize it came from
- 42:32Speaker 5: this movie.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Maybe it didn't, but the one that you and I
- 42:35Speaker 3: do all the time.
- 42:35Speaker 5: That no, no, no, no, yeah no, I'm not sure
- 42:41Speaker 5: if it came from this one, but we.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Say that all the time.
- 42:44Speaker 5: Question, it is a pretty general thing that could have
- 42:47Speaker 5: happened elsewhere right right when when they first get to
- 42:55Speaker 5: the eighties or realize they're in the eighties, and they
- 42:57Speaker 5: tackle Crispin Glover and Glove a Crispin Lover's character, and
- 43:02Speaker 5: he's like, are you raping?
- 43:07Speaker 3: What? Catch me off guard? Though?
- 43:13Speaker 2: That is a weird way of asking that.
- 43:15Speaker 5: And then just a couple other from that bathroom scene,
- 43:19Speaker 5: the no no, no no part, but also it's like
- 43:22Speaker 5: Gary Coleman's Forum.
- 43:28Speaker 3: You yeah, you already did?
- 43:30Speaker 2: You already did?
- 43:31Speaker 5: The I know right part?
- 43:32Speaker 3: But that's really really good.
- 43:38Speaker 5: It's so impossibly black.
- 43:43Speaker 3: That's so crazy. That's really good. Nice what you got, Rob?
- 43:52Speaker 2: I mean, Great White Buffalo obviously is number one. I love.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Jacob is talking to the girl at the club. He's like,
- 44:00Speaker 2: I'm kind of right in the middle of the thing
- 44:01Speaker 2: right now, but can I text you later? Can you
- 44:04Speaker 2: what are you online at all? I have no idea
- 44:08Speaker 2: what you're talking about. How do I get a hold
- 44:10Speaker 2: of you? You can find me? That sounds exhausted.
- 44:16Speaker 3: And good.
- 44:18Speaker 5: The Great right White Buffalo apart where Jacob's trying to
- 44:22Speaker 5: figure out what the hell they're talking about too, where
- 44:24Speaker 5: he's like, yeah, and they just keep whispering it and
- 44:27Speaker 5: he's like that was very helpful, guys, thank you, yeah, helpful,
- 44:30Speaker 5: thanks a lot.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Yeah. I love when when Rob Quadrey is making Jacob
- 44:38Speaker 2: and when he climb axes, he screams out Shila. Both perfect.
- 44:46Speaker 2: It's so good. Something about screaming out a random name.
- 44:49Speaker 3: It was like when Kelly Clarks Kelly good forty year
- 44:53Speaker 3: old version. It's so good dropping loads, Oh.
- 44:57Speaker 2: My god, yeah, yeah, oh yeah. It must be some
- 45:06Speaker 2: kind of hot tub time machine is for sure. I
- 45:09Speaker 2: love that the taxidermist is stuffing my mother made me laugh.
- 45:17Speaker 2: He's like, you can be the hero. The Nick's like
- 45:20Speaker 2: Enrique Iglacias, like you love that song, don't you? And
- 45:25Speaker 2: then that starts playing so perfect? I do love that.
- 45:31Speaker 3: That right before that too. Can I just say that
- 45:36Speaker 3: a whole bit.
- 45:37Speaker 5: Yeah, listen to me, man, that guy has pummeled you
- 45:41Speaker 5: again and again. He's made you as bitch. He's humiliated you,
- 45:45Speaker 5: emasculated you. The wheel of fate has stopped and dumped
- 45:49Speaker 5: you here again, utterly defeated. And he's like none of
- 45:51Speaker 5: this is helping at all.
- 45:53Speaker 3: Right, He's like, I know it's coming, it's coming. That
- 46:02Speaker 3: was a good bit, so funny.
- 46:04Speaker 2: I love that Chevy Chase just always keeps calling him
- 46:09Speaker 2: a young lady. He's like, don't you put your hands
- 46:11Speaker 2: on me, young lady. That's a good bit. It's good
- 46:15Speaker 2: clean fun, right there, good clean fun. My last one
- 46:20Speaker 2: I'll say, Oh, so this is when John Cusack is
- 46:24Speaker 2: talking to Lizzie Kaplan. He's She's like, so you're a
- 46:27Speaker 2: time lord. He's like, and a jacuzzi is your spaceship?
- 46:31Speaker 2: Like that is correct, madam. That's really the only part
- 46:34Speaker 2: of this whole thing that doesn't make sense to me.
- 46:36Speaker 2: And he's like, you're not the only one, believe me.
- 46:38Speaker 2: I mean, the whole thing is just totally insane. Just
- 46:43Speaker 2: talking about the premise of the movie. I love it. Yeah,
- 46:48Speaker 2: why don't you say some bukes?
- 46:50Speaker 3: Sure, He's like, well doesn't it doesn't say that in
- 46:55Speaker 3: the Asshole Handbook or whatever. It's like, actually would say
- 46:57Speaker 3: that the asshole Handbook because it's the handbook on how
- 47:00Speaker 3: to be an asshole.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you're.
- 47:03Speaker 3: Right, I love that. Uh hey, Adam. What she means
- 47:08Speaker 3: is she works at the ski rental place, and that's
- 47:11Speaker 3: her job, right, waxing the skis.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 47:17Speaker 3: Because his mom is like I'm gonna go find someone
- 47:20Speaker 3: and yeah and wax their pole or whatever.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Uh, that's right. That carving you made twenty years ago
- 47:28Speaker 3: about me sucking and dicks is no longer there.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Wait, so it doesn't say sucks.
- 47:36Speaker 3: What about Yeah, the splitting of is the part that cracks.
- 47:42Speaker 2: That is a good bit.
- 47:43Speaker 3: Let's see, Oh, it doesn't matter. You crush up, you
- 47:47Speaker 3: crush up. You put it in a warm paper towel,
- 47:49Speaker 3: you run it her some warm water, and you stick
- 47:51Speaker 3: it right up your ass. It works. It's like, what's happening?
- 47:57Speaker 2: Yeah, all of you kids have riddling. Yeah, all of you.
- 48:00Speaker 3: So funny, all of you do. I also love when
- 48:03Speaker 3: he's playing Second Life at the beginning and he's like, what,
- 48:07Speaker 3: you're in prison. You're in prison last time. It's like, yeah,
- 48:09Speaker 3: I'm a prisoner. It's called doing hard time.
- 48:13Speaker 5: Got to knock out these push ups?
- 48:17Speaker 3: So good, so so good. And also they're in the
- 48:22Speaker 3: car and they're talking about Rop Cordy's character and like,
- 48:25Speaker 3: remember when I was twelve and he tried to bite me? Well, yeah,
- 48:28Speaker 3: but you had that coming. Yeah. I think that's fun.
- 48:35Speaker 3: I think that was all the ones I wrote to
- 48:36Speaker 3: Oh no, I have one more.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Excuse me, miss?
- 48:39Speaker 3: What color is Michael Jackson black? Yes, it's just pumped
- 48:44Speaker 3: and leaves.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Oh no, he's not pumped. He's like, no, he's freaking out.
- 48:49Speaker 2: We're in the eighties. Get it's excited, right, No, he's
- 48:54Speaker 2: freaking out there they've gone back in time, that's what.
- 49:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:02Speaker 2: The only other one I wrote down is after they've
- 49:04Speaker 2: had sex, and she's just like, I feel pregnant.
- 49:09Speaker 3: Immediately.
- 49:12Speaker 5: I must have gotten I must have gotten a lot
- 49:14Speaker 5: deeper on the quotes than you guys. But it's called
- 49:19Speaker 5: male bonding. Okay, haven't you seen wild hogs?
- 49:22Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 49:24Speaker 5: Good good, I just like the for your information.
- 49:31Speaker 2: I've had lots of girlfriends hot ones.
- 49:33Speaker 5: No, you've had lots of boyfriends gay one gay ones.
- 49:38Speaker 3: They did really he went really hard on the gay
- 49:40Speaker 3: stuff for sure. Yeah, that the parts that didn't age.
- 49:45Speaker 3: It's very grateful, makes sense.
- 49:50Speaker 2: Uh.
- 49:51Speaker 5: There's the uh the exchange in the bar right before
- 49:55Speaker 5: he goes to get his ass kicked with Adam's sister
- 49:58Speaker 5: and he's like, I got some can to do with
- 50:00Speaker 5: my boys, but this this ain't over.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Get out of my waist stool. Just improvised that, for sure,
- 50:14Speaker 2: right or.
- 50:16Speaker 5: Even before that, when he's trying to slide the shots
- 50:18Speaker 5: down the bar and he just keeps breaking them all.
- 50:23Speaker 2: That's hilarious on it.
- 50:25Speaker 3: Oh, who asked him at the beginning? Someone asked him, Oh,
- 50:28Speaker 3: it's Craig Ferguson's wife in the movie. She's like, yeah, sorry,
- 50:33Speaker 3: different Craig. Oh hey, Adam, how's your girlfriend. He's like, oh,
- 50:38Speaker 3: really bad?
- 50:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah that was good.
- 50:45Speaker 5: I guess it's up to you guys, his friends. You're
- 50:47Speaker 5: his friends, right, it's like that friends, who's the asshole?
- 50:51Speaker 2: He's our asshole? Yeah yeah.
- 50:56Speaker 5: And then just like I think it's one of the
- 50:59Speaker 5: last times Chevy Chase shows up and make is of
- 51:03Speaker 5: no help at all and Jacob kill you to give
- 51:06Speaker 5: me a straight answer. You know you're kind of a dick.
- 51:09Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's great.
- 51:16Speaker 5: Yeah, or i'm your best friend, you are one of
- 51:20Speaker 5: my best.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Friends, of my best friends. I'll take it. Yeah. Yeah,
- 51:26Speaker 2: that's good.
- 51:27Speaker 3: I think, yeah, I think that's uh, that's nice. These
- 51:32Speaker 3: comedies are always hard because they say so many of
- 51:34Speaker 3: them so quickly that I feel.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Like and so much of it is so filthy.
- 51:41Speaker 4: As well.
- 51:42Speaker 5: Yeah, the pacing of this one too. Like you said,
- 51:44Speaker 5: they just fly through them.
- 51:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, great white buffalo.
- 51:51Speaker 2: All right, let's let's move to the crying game moments.
- 51:58Speaker 2: There was like one tender moment at the end when
- 52:02Speaker 2: they're talking pretty much like you're one of your best
- 52:05Speaker 2: friends or whatever, and then he like throws him in
- 52:08Speaker 2: the hot tub. Ye makes him go back, but it's
- 52:11Speaker 2: still just so funny. I don't think he actually cried.
- 52:13Speaker 5: I don't feel Yeah, I don't feel like there was
- 52:15Speaker 5: anything that they stayed on long enough to get bugs
- 52:18Speaker 5: going on this one.
- 52:19Speaker 2: And we didn't care about the John Cusack relationship really
- 52:23Speaker 2: like I had said before, you know, so yeah, I
- 52:29Speaker 2: feel like that's kind of the only spot that was
- 52:32Speaker 2: pretty sentimental. And even when they go and see him
- 52:36Speaker 2: in the hospital, just saw that whispering that they.
- 52:38Speaker 5: Did, just you can hear it.
- 52:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I forgot about that.
- 52:43Speaker 2: It's really good. It's good. It's like a shriveled grat,
- 52:47Speaker 2: I can hear you. Yeah. So I'm going with zero.
- 52:52Speaker 3: Come on, guys, come on, you are crackted at zero
- 52:57Speaker 3: zero for this one.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Yes, I sleep.
- 53:01Speaker 3: Nicely done. Let's go on to some trivia. Then Craig
- 53:06Speaker 3: Robinson came up with the Michael Jackson joke used in
- 53:09Speaker 3: the trailer, as well as it must be some kind
- 53:12Speaker 3: of hot tip time machine line that he dead passed.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Oh that's the best.
- 53:15Speaker 3: He improvised both of those or came up with them.
- 53:18Speaker 3: I guess maybe didn't improvise them.
- 53:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it so deliberate. How they get the camera right
- 53:23Speaker 2: in front of him.
- 53:24Speaker 3: I can't be right. He might have improvised it at
- 53:26Speaker 3: some point, but then they were like, Okay, we're gonna
- 53:28Speaker 3: just do We're going to keep it.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and then how they all they all do the
- 53:33Speaker 2: like cheers and they're like one, two three, hot tub
- 53:36Speaker 2: time machine.
- 53:38Speaker 3: We all agreed, we're going to do that now. And
- 53:39Speaker 3: he's like, no, I don't want to do well, we're
- 53:41Speaker 3: doing it man.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:45Speaker 3: In an interview, John Keysack stated that he made his
- 53:48Speaker 3: decision to join the cast of this film almost entirely
- 53:51Speaker 3: based off of the title. He was just like, say
- 53:54Speaker 3: no more, I'm in.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Which I totally believe because I think he must have.
- 53:59Speaker 2: He must be doing that for like the last ten years,
- 54:01Speaker 2: because everything that he has done in the last decade,
- 54:05Speaker 2: I don't know anything. I feel like they're going straight
- 54:08Speaker 2: to streamers. Yeah.
- 54:11Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like I'm done reading scripts. I think you
- 54:13Speaker 3: want to pay me, I'll show up and we'll have
- 54:15Speaker 3: a nice time.
- 54:17Speaker 5: I think I went to see this movie solely based
- 54:19Speaker 5: on the title because I didn't I didn't know a
- 54:22Speaker 5: lot about it. And yeah, you remember our buddy Zach
- 54:26Speaker 5: from um D. Me and him and his roommate went
- 54:31Speaker 5: and saw it one night. We were living in the
- 54:33Speaker 5: same apartment building at the time, and that's when I
- 54:36Speaker 5: was still managing the restaurant and I got home from work.
- 54:40Speaker 5: He called me like randomly. It was like ten something
- 54:42Speaker 5: at night. He's like, hey, you want to go see
- 54:44Speaker 5: Hot Tub Time Machine And I'm like, yes, yes, yes, I.
- 54:47Speaker 2: Do so time love that.
- 54:53Speaker 3: If he called me now.
- 54:55Speaker 5: And said that at ten o'clock at night, I'd be like,
- 54:57Speaker 5: how about tomorrow when they would.
- 54:59Speaker 2: Have already gone to voicemail, because you.
- 55:01Speaker 3: Would be answering it. Well, maybe if you call, he
- 55:05Speaker 3: might think someone's dead or something, you know.
- 55:08Speaker 2: Everything, who died so late? Start with the bad news.
- 55:15Speaker 3: And hurry up. My melowtone is kicking in. When they're
- 55:18Speaker 3: on the mountain, a guy skis past and he's talking
- 55:21Speaker 3: on his mobile phone and he says, I want my
- 55:23Speaker 3: two dollars this is apparently a reference to a deranged
- 55:27Speaker 3: bike riding paper boy in Better Off Dead. Have you no,
- 55:32Speaker 3: I've never seen it.
- 55:33Speaker 2: Oh. When you said apparently, I'm like, that's a big part. Yes.
- 55:38Speaker 3: I almost didn't include this because I was like, I
- 55:40Speaker 3: don't is this interesting? So that's good.
- 55:42Speaker 2: It is interesting. He said that kid says it fifty times. Really, yes, apparently.
- 55:50Speaker 2: Check that out.
- 55:51Speaker 3: It's from the John cy second movie, Better.
- 55:54Speaker 2: Off Dead, Better Off Dead? Yep, all right, love it?
- 55:57Speaker 3: Uh. When the guy's first realized there in the eighties
- 56:00Speaker 3: and images are flashing up on the television. There's one
- 56:03Speaker 3: shot of Chevy Cha's from his appearance in a Paul
- 56:06Speaker 3: Simon music video You Can Call Me Al from eighty
- 56:09Speaker 3: to six, which is the year the film is set,
- 56:12Speaker 3: and of course he plays the repair man. But I
- 56:14Speaker 3: just thought that was fun.
- 56:16Speaker 2: That is fun.
- 56:17Speaker 3: The band Poison was portrayed in the film by a
- 56:20Speaker 3: Poison tribute band from Phoenix, Arizona that went by the
- 56:24Speaker 3: name of Unskinny Bop. I just thought that was cool.
- 56:28Speaker 3: A little true band got their moment in the sun.
- 56:32Speaker 3: Crispin Glover was asked to scream by the director when
- 56:35Speaker 3: the accident happens but he felt this character would be
- 56:38Speaker 3: in such shock that he had that he would stay silent,
- 56:41Speaker 3: and eventually he convinced Steve Pink that this was the
- 56:44Speaker 3: right call. So that's why he doesn't say anything.
- 56:47Speaker 2: It sounds like he's pretty Yeah, just like, dude, just
- 56:53Speaker 2: do a take where you're screaming. It's like, why don't
- 56:56Speaker 2: we do that?
- 56:56Speaker 3: Hey, buddy, the movie's called hot Tub Time Machine.
- 56:59Speaker 2: Maybe we do it.
- 57:00Speaker 3: Shot. We don't work too much, you know, I don't.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Know, but it worked. It totally worked. But him screaming
- 57:07Speaker 2: might have been really funny too.
- 57:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I think both could work. But yeah, it worked fine.
- 57:13Speaker 3: But yes, I think that's funny. When Chevy's character is introduced,
- 57:18Speaker 3: he tells the guys that they're hot tub is on
- 57:20Speaker 3: the fritz and it would behoove you. And apparently this
- 57:24Speaker 3: is a shout out to a skit from the first
- 57:26Speaker 3: season of SNL. The skit is called Uvula and where
- 57:30Speaker 3: at one point Chevy tells Gilda Radner that her uvula
- 57:34Speaker 3: is on the fritz, and Lorraine Newman tells her that
- 57:37Speaker 3: it would behoovia to care for your uvula.
- 57:41Speaker 2: That was high comedy at that time.
- 57:44Speaker 7: Yes, that's very deep, the nude sex scene in the
- 57:51Speaker 7: hot tub with Craig Robinson and Jessica Perry pal.
- 57:58Speaker 3: It was her idea a pair. Because her character was
- 58:01Speaker 3: only in one scene, she wanted to really stand out.
- 58:04Speaker 3: It's accomplished.
- 58:05Speaker 2: She explained this in.
- 58:06Speaker 3: Any interview by saying, I think boobs can be funny.
- 58:10Speaker 3: But she used a different word for boobs. So she's
- 58:14Speaker 3: their party. I guess. She said. It was one of
- 58:16Speaker 3: the most entertaining things she's ever done. She really enjoyed it. Yeah,
- 58:22Speaker 3: that was basically so, I guess it was her idea. Interesting, right,
- 58:27Speaker 3: what's that just kidding?
- 58:29Speaker 2: Said, it's a small bird.
- 58:35Speaker 3: You know there's birds.
- 58:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I gotcha.
- 58:39Speaker 3: I said, I think willows can be funny, like a
- 58:41Speaker 3: good set of willows. She said. In the film, Blaine
- 58:44Speaker 3: is a patriot fighting against perceived Communists. In real life,
- 58:48Speaker 3: Sebastian Stan was born in Romania while it was under
- 58:52Speaker 3: Communist rule.
- 58:54Speaker 5: Fun you mean, oh look, it's the douchebag from Karate
- 58:57Speaker 5: Kid through.
- 59:00Speaker 3: One hundred Percent. The movie was casually name dropped in
- 59:04Speaker 3: a scene in the MCU film Avengers Endgame. In the
- 59:07Speaker 3: scene where they're discussing the possibilities of time travel. They
- 59:10Speaker 3: also mentioned many sci fi action movies from the eighties,
- 59:14Speaker 3: and Sebastian Stan of course, is in that as Bucky Barnes.
- 59:18Speaker 3: So I just thought that was a fun, little cohesive moment.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Several months after the filming had wrapped principal photography, it
- 59:28Speaker 3: was decided that additional scenes were needed, and this included
- 59:32Speaker 3: the entirety of the scenes with William Zabka Zabka, which
- 59:37Speaker 3: were filmed just a few months before the film was
- 59:39Speaker 3: actually released, So that was all added later, which is
- 59:42Speaker 3: kind of interesting. Oh yeah, interesting, And according to Clark Duke,
- 59:50Speaker 3: it was his idea for his character Jacob to travel
- 59:53Speaker 3: back in time and find out Lou was his father.
- 59:55Speaker 2: So that's fun.
- 59:58Speaker 3: That's a big plot point, a huge there, but interesting.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: I guess.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Yeah. That was all I had. Do you have anything wrong?
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: I didn't have anything else?
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: Yeah, this one.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: Yeah. I thought it would have been kind of fun
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: to see if there are other actors up for roles,
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: but I just didn't see anything for sure.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: All right, Well, Judgment Day, will there be a sequel?
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: There is? It's not great.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: It's such a bummer. I don't know why I thought
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: it would be so funny. I just I think I
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: went in with high expectations because I really liked this
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: movie and I really did not like and I saw
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: it in the theater and I.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: Don't really remember anything about it though, so.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: I remember really contemplating leaving.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Not a good sign. Not a good sign. Yeah, so yeah,
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: there is at least one.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: There is, uh, And I just want to play a game. Yeah, Brandon,
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: were you about to say something? Sorry if I cut
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: you off? Okay, cool. I thought it would be fun
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: to do a plot tub time machine. It seemed appropriate.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: So for this game, I'm going to give you the
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: plot synopsis to a movie, and when you know what
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: the movie is, you're just going to ring in with
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: your name and you answer. You can guess once for
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: each movie, and all of these movies have something in common.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: If you know what the theme is, just ring in
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: at any time for a point.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: Love it? His camera turned off for just a minute.
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I had to like do a quick nosewipe thing,
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: so okay, right on. I figured your patrons didn't need
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: to see that.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: No, they pay extra for that, so it's good.
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: I'll let it roll next time.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: But we feel good. We feel good about plot tub
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: time machines. Pretty straightforward. Guess the movie ring in with
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: your Name? But yes, let's go to number one. The
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: first plot synopsis. A young plant eating dinosaur is orphaned
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: after his mother perishes while protecting him from a vicious
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: card branded.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: No Land before Time, the Land before Time?
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: All right, very good branded. Let's go to number two.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: An actor gained fame and fortune by starring in a
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: nineteen fifties television western, but is now struggling to find
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: meaningful work in a Hollywood that.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: Yes, once upon a time in Hollywood.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: That's correct, Yes, yes, that is correct. All right? Do
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: we know what the theme is?
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: Yes? I feel like yeah, they say time.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: They all have all of these titles.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: We'll mention time, time.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: And it. It gets harder by the end. These first
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: few are not too tough. Let's go to number three.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: When Tim is twenty one, his father tells him the
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: men and their family can travel through time, although he
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: can't change history.
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: About time.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: It is about time. You couldn't remember the name of it.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: Helly, I really liked that movie.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Oh it's so good, adore it so much?
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: Crying, good lord, we adore it.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: Like the part of John McLoughlin on for that one.
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I'm sure there's a couple of boohoo moments
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: in that one.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, so mat was separate, the part where.
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: He realizes he can't go talk to his dad anymore
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: and it'll change.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: Stop.
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: I need to try to fluster Mumes for this to
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: get catch up in this game.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: Nice word, get him in his fields to love it.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: We are Marshall all right number four. In a future
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: where time is money and the wealthy can live forever,
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: Will Silas is a poor Brandon in time.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: In time time, guys, I couldn't remember what.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: It was with Justin Timberlake and Amanda say freed. Very good.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: Let's go to number five. The main character is enjoying
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: a tranquil life in Jamaica after leaving active service. However,
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: his piece is short lived as his old CIA friend
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Felix Lighter, shows up and asks for help. The mission
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be a
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: far more treacherous. It turns out to be far more
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: treacherous than expected, leading Bond on the trail of a
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: mysterious villain who's armed with the dangerous new technology.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Yes, but no time to die.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: No time to die, can't even read. Initially it was
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: James Bond is enjoying a tranquil life. I'm gonna let him.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: Let's at least give him a shot to get it.
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: I could not pull that one.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: So yeah, where are we after five ukes? I have four?
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: Brandon has two? Workout all gets a point for something up.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: The first five were easy, and now it gets harder
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: just throwing that as they say, all right, number six.
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: Nobody says that.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: Really old people do. Carl Lee Haley is a heartbroken
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: black father who avenges his daughter's brutal rape by shooting
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: the bigoted men responsible for the crime as they are
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: on their way to trial. He turns to Jake Bergant's
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: and untested lawyer to defend him. Brigand struggles to believe
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: that he can get Haley acquitted in this small, segregated
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: southern town, given Haley's right race and the deliberate nature
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: of his crimes, but Carl has unshakable faith in him.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: Five four three two one. This is the John Grisham
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: novel that bug has never seen. It is called A
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: Time to Kill. It does.
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: All the like I was right around it, but I
- 1:06:35Speaker 5: was about I would it would have been a time
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: to die, and that didn't make sense in my head.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: I'm like, a time to kill or no, what's.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: It called, yep? A time to kill? Yep. Let's one
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: number seven. A bank robber stops at nothing to free
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: his brother from prison, launching himself into a night long
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: odyssey through New York's dark and dangerous criminal underworld.
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: It stars Robert Pattinson and Benny Safti. Yeah, five four
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: three two one. This was called Good Time Time.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: I've heard that's really a great movie. I've never seen it.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: It's great. It's it's like Uncut Gents, but not as.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: Intense, not not quite as like Cring or whatever.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: But it's still pretty gritty and intense. Yeah, huh, all right,
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: I told you, told you they're tough.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Line I was.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: At number eight. When Mankind perfects time travel, the government
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: establishes the Time Enforcement Commission to thwart criminal attempts to
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: alter the timeline. Police Officer Walker is recruited by Tec
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Commander Matuzak, but soon finds his investigation of Senor Aaron
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: McComb being thwarted again by elements within the government. When
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Walker's wife Melissa is attacked. He must travel across time
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: to rescue.
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: Her and save you Future time cop, it is time, Okay, I.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: Started going down. I got Minority Report in my head.
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: I'm like, it doesn't have the word time, and I
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: just can't get out and get out of that rabbit hole.
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: Yep, yep, I've ever seen time cop? Is that fun?
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: That sounds as a kid, but I'm sure it's terrible.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: I think it was like ninety four or something.
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: Right in the Demolition Man.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: Era, exactly like Timmy and I watched it a bunch
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: of lead?
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: Did you say that?
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Jean Claude Van Dam and me and Sarah from like
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: ferrisp Oh fun? Okay, cool, yep, all right, Let's go
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: to number nine. Murray and her little brother Charles Wallace,
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: have been without their scientist father, mister Murray for five years,
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: ever since he discovered a new planet and used the
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: concept known as a testa Act to travel there. Oh
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: joined by Meg's classmate Calvin O'Keeffe and guided by the
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: three mysterious astral travelers known as Missus What's it, Missus Who,
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: and Missus Witch the children?
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Is this a wrinkle in time?
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: It is.
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: Okay, I've never seen that, but that missus, what's its
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: rang aboll for me? Okay, so it's not the Avengers.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: It's not I know, I said tests Erectors, like that's
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: the only I've only heard that there.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: Oh the test Rectors. Yeah, I loved everywhere. I love
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: calling everything that.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: Well, bug's a good job than one. But here's number ten,
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: just for fantasies. In the holy city of Alimet resides
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: the Sands of Time, which gives more mortals the power
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: to turn back time. After leading an attack, sorry, yes,
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: after leading an attack on the city Dastan, the adopted
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: son of Persia's king, acquires a dagger that gives the
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: one who holds it access to the sands. Goes on, yes,
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: oh it had it must have a colon.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: I was thinking, Prince, the Prince of Persia, Sands of Time,
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: I guess.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: Sans video game movie it is?
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: Is that Jake Jillen?
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I never saw that.
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: Actually I didn't either, and Gemma Ardurton.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: Is the Most of those video game movies aren't very good, though,
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: like most interesting.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: Okays, nice job, you're gonna tell us how we do
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: Our top five favorite hot tub scenes in mo that's
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: for I.
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: Will do that. If you want to hear that, you
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: go to www dot patreon dot com slash the Oven
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: endorsement right now and check it out. But we'll be
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: doing that later. Brandon, thanks so much for coming on, buddy.
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: This was a blast. It was what a fun time.
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: It was no Tommy Boy, but.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: That's true, but what is?
- 1:11:13Speaker 5: Yeah, also go back five years and watch the Tommy Boy.
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: Listen to Tommy Boy. Yeah that was that was really
- 1:11:20Speaker 5: five years ago. Ouch, we recorded that five years ago.
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: Cod Son of a Well that is.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: I don't like thinking about that, but I do like
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: having you on this show. So thanks for coming on.
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: Pal.
