Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Bienvenue au salon hosted by Sarah Marielle.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: That's me.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: It's officially Fashion Month, you guys.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Well, it kicked off this past week or two in New York, and I'm just so excited for the buzz of the zeitgeist and the new energy and all the incoming creativity.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: So usually Fashion Month starts out in New York.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: That's because it is one of the leading cities in the mainstream fashion industry out of London, Paris, and Milan.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: So those are the four cities around Fashion Month and the fashion weeks which get the most notoriety, the most press, all of that.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: And that's because that's where the most high-end luxury brands are based out of, as well as the high-profile designers and just up-and-coming houses and brands.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: So that kicked off this past week or two, and honestly, I've discovered so right now most brands are debuting their spring and summer 2027 collections, which is exciting because I just love the general creativity and the buzz of the zeitgeist.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: But do you guys remember that I was curious in a couple episodes ago about why the spring and summer collections are debuted at the beginning of fall?
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: I was wondering that because it seemed counterintuitive to me, especially personally.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Like as I'm going into fall, as summer is ending, I don't want to think about spring and summer wardrobe because I'm mourning the loss of summer, honestly, and I'm trying to gear up myself to go into fall gracefully and instead of having a crash out about it.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: I actually discovered why this is.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: I was doing some research, and apparently this is to give buyers and editors and stylists, retailers, etc.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: All the people in the industry that are actually making decisions and moving products and all of that.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: This is to give them time to examine the collections and place their orders and be featured in magazines, create content out of the collections, all of that.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: So, yes, while obviously the end goal of most fashion brands and fashion houses is for them to be able to move product and make a profit, and obviously their shareholders, all of that.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: I was talking in a previous episode about just the creativity of the of the collections and the artistry behind it and the inspiration that it strikes and its viewers and the people that are engaging with it.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: I while I am aware of this, I also don't think enough people are aware of the fact that it's not as simple as just putting out good product that your consumers are attracted to, as intuitive as that sounds.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Like you would think that you would want to make product for your consumers, but it's not that simple, and honestly, it's too bad, but I guess that's just the nature of life and of business in general.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: The fashion industry is a business, and a lot of these brands they have shareholders, they have people that they have to answer to in terms of profit and all of that.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: So I understand just all of the jumble and everything that's not really doesn't really seem straightforward to the public out on the outside looking in, but especially when you're talking about retailers, that's so important because they're the ones, and by retailers, those are the big stores, department stores, etc., that are actually placing orders within the brands themselves.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: And so while I was doing my research, I came across that while the collections are debuted, like for example, we're in New York, New York Fashion Week is happening right now.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: So while you're seeing all those collections, it doesn't necessarily mean that the inventory the inventory is actually there for you to order as soon as you've seen it.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: It's kind of just like a lookbook to show them what they've come up with, and then the buyers, the people whose job it is to buy for whether it's their company, their department store, whatever, and the retailers placing orders, that's when they actually start putting numbers down in terms of like how much they should make, and especially how fast the fashion industry moved.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: They definitely, and they're a business, of course, they definitely don't want to put out a bunch of product that's not gonna get sold, or and then they lose out on a profit or they end up losing money.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Another piece of this puzzle and this research puzzle that I came across is that just like any other business, the fashion industry they operate like six months in advance in terms of planning, and so by the time it takes editors to create content, you know, get models to showcase the clothes, have photo shoots, place them in magazines, advertisement, social media, that kind of stuff, it's kind of like placing it in the minds or the subconscious of the consumers, so that by the time we are ready to buy the clothes come spring and summer, we have already been interacting with the content for a while, and now subconsciously we're thinking that we want these things, or we know that we want these things.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: So I don't know, trying to make sense of it, it makes sense, honestly.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: I'm just thinking, you know, it's fall right now, or we're about to go into fall.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: Today is the 16th.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: We have five days until fall officially begins, and I'm thinking, okay, so they release the collections now.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: The buyers, and it this also makes sense why a lot of fashion shows for these brands, when you look at the audience, it's mostly buyers, editors, etc.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: People who are in the industry who actually work in the industry, so that's interesting, it makes sense.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: But yeah, thinking about it, the buyers right now are consulting with their bosses, or perhaps they have the authority to get what they want, they probably have a team that they work with, etc.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: But this is not the time for the consumer right now, I guess.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: It's time for the people, it's the time for the people who are in the industry and who work in the industry, so it makes sense, yeah.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: New York Fashion Week is kicking and blazing right now, and then next I believe they're moving to London Fashion Week, either London or no, Paris is the last one, so I think it's London and then Milan, and then it's Paris, which is usually the last one to kind of close out Fashion Month.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: So I think with that little revelation, I kind of want to challenge myself, perhaps, to be to go with the calendar of this whole industry, as counterintuitive as it seems to me.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: Like I want to be focusing on autumn and winter fashion, which I am, and I've placed my orders and my clothes are coming, and I'm so excited, so so so excited.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: But maybe there's something to be said for having the material in your head in your subconscious months before, so that by the time the season is running around, you already have your orders placed, your clothes are coming, and you can move on and focus on what's to come next.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: I also see the brutal wheel turning of industry and all of this, and I don't know, this is not like this is not me taking shots or anything, it's just is what it is.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: It is a business.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Um, and of course, in the world, in the western world that we live in, with capitalism and things constantly turning and churning, and of course, now with social media, with trends, having a shorter life cycle, all of that.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: I just see the you know, by the time it's fall, we're thinking about spring and summer.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: By the time it's spring and summer, we're thinking about fall, and on and on and on it goes.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: So, whatever, it is what it is.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: It's not like it's something that's necessary, it's a world that I choose to pay attention to and embed myself into, so there's no point in complaining because if it's that crazy, we don't have to engage with it, and a lot of people don't engage with it for the better, so yeah, but I was saying I'm I'm kind of taking this as a challenge to myself to focus as well and align myself with the calendar of this time and pay attention to the spring and summer collection so that I can be in my subconscious, and I'm also kind of using this as a way to keep summer and spring alive in my mind in the season right now.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: I told you guys that I was already kind of getting the blues a little bit, honestly, because I think my body and just it's something to prepare yourself for the coming of a new season.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: But when the environment actually starts changing, sorry, there's like a police car in the background, and it's so annoying, but whatever.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, they get to where they're going on time.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, everybody is okay.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: But yeah, as this the environment actually starts changing, it starts getting colder, you see the leaves changing colors, they're already falling, the daylight is already getting shorter, and the sun just doesn't look quite as vibrant as it used to in the summer.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: It's something that is something else entirely when the nature actually starts affecting you.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: So I was kind of having a hard time with the already little changes happening, and I think that's just a part of and a lot of people are because especially if you're a spring and summer child like me.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: I was literally born in the fall, you guys, like the very end of fall going into winter.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: I was born in the cold.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Pretty sure there was a snowstorm when I was born, but neither less, my soul is that of a summer and spring child, so especially if you are one as well, like it's you really do go through the motion of mourning the season, it's so interesting.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: And so I think I'm gonna use this just as a way to I don't know why Zara Larson's idea of midnight sun and just forever being sunny and not becoming gloomy just because circumstances around you are changing, even though that's valid, but just not giving in to that fully.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna use that as a way to kind of keep spring and summer alive as well as engage with the zeitgeist that's happening around me right now, and just I don't know, I'm getting a little bit of FOMA.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Everybody is everybody's eyes are just devouring these new collections, and I'm focusing on autumn and winter, which I've liked, which I've really enjoyed, but I'm just gonna give in to the feeling.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: But with that said, I actually counterintuitively contradicting myself, I actually since I've I had a whole lot of further collections that I wanted to look at for autumn and winter of 2026, but since it's just so much work, you guys.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, it's so much work.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: Like I'm rolling my eyes right now, but it is especially if you want to engage with it authentically, like you actually want to take it in and see how it makes you feel, and all of that.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: There are so many collections, there's so many brands, fashion brands, out there, it just seems endless sometimes.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: So the ones that I've interacted with right now, I mean, so far, I am taking with me and keeping them in my heart.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: But as for the rest, I think I'm just gonna skip those and in the name of accepting a challenge and taking it as a challenge to engage with the Midnight Sun philosophy lol that I'm coming up with right now.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna switch gears and start looking at the spring and summer 27 collections, and who knows?
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: I feel like I'm actually really gonna enjoy this and I wanna see just yeah, I think this is gonna be really exciting actually.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: So I'm excited for that to keep summer alive.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: But I wanted to tell you guys as kind of like a farewell to all of the collections I've been interacting with.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: I wanted to share the ones that I've absolutely loved, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: Honestly, yeah.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: I'm just looking at my list right now and my notes app.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Speaking of my notes app, my notes app is literally my life, you guys, and it's so funny sometimes.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: I think about like if I lose my data, like on my iCloud, and things are not backed up.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: One of the very first things that I was dread thinking about losing is my notes app first, and then my my photos and all of that, and I would say third, probably my conversations, but not as much.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: Definitely my notes app.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: I don't know what I would do, you guys.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: I would actually shed big girl tears if somehow my data on my notes app were all deleted.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: It's like my my little assistant, honestly.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: I'm just waiting for AI agents to be kind of placed within the notes app.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: I think that would be just fire.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Imagine you can just tell your notes app, hey, write this down, and you can like dictate letters lol, like a true monarch.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: But, anyways, you guys, so the Autumn and Winter 20 2026 collections that I've absolutely love.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna well, there's actually two that I have a whole like grading system, whereas the top one is like I overwhelmingly loved it, like from the moment I saw it and from the moment it ended, it just left me breathless, and like, oh my goodness, what a freaking collection! And there's only two of those so far, but there's also others that I kind of loved, but I feel like I don't want to leave them behind.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: Um, so the two that I absolutely loved you guys were George Hobeka.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: I hope that's how you say the last name, but George Hobeka and Tori Birch.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, you guys.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: I'm finding this pattern uh with George Hobika.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: So there's two brands, Zimmerman and George Hobeka.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: I've realized that every collection I'm just absolutely in love with in this season or this fall and winter 2026-2027 collection for George Hobeka.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: I just wish, and I I bet a lot of people feel like this too in the fashion industry.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: I wish I could afford some of his clothes, they're so ridiculously expensive, you guys.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: And again, I'm not here to trash on the brands.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: I know it's just part of the business, and we have that whole conversation about just the morality of it all.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: Um so I'm not gonna get into that.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: But as I was saying in that conversation, there is something to be said for if you want to get like one thing here and there from the brand, then I totally understand because some of these dresses, you guys, are like ten thousand dollars per dress, so I can't in good conscience spend that money on if I if the clothes were in my price range or even in a moral price range, I would probably buy like close to the whole collection.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: But when you start getting into the price range of ten thousand dollars or a couple thousand dollars for a few pieces, then it's just it doesn't seem ethical to me personally, so you know pick and choose a couple things here and there.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: But George Hobeka, honey, as soon as I can, as soon as I can flex in that tax bracket like that, I'm coming for a couple dresses here and there because they're actually that brand and just their collections, whether it's spring and summer or autumn and winter, are always super inspiring.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: So I would definitely recommend you guys check out George Hobeka in general, honestly, but especially the 2026 Autumn and Winter collection.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: And yeah, Tori Birch was just amazing.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: She's like her color palette for the season was so vibrant.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: I love the idea of having bright colors for fall, and I understand, I mean, I love color in general.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I love the experimenting with colors in general, especially when it comes to clothes, so I don't mind autumn colors as well in terms of just these pumpkin-like oranges and mauve and dark blues and black and grays.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: I like them, but I feel like a lot of brands sometimes they lean too much into that, or there'll be this annoying kind of not even a contrast, it's like too much of the clothes, they are very simple, and the colors are very muted, so it just makes the clothes look boring.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: But when you have something that can be simple, but the colors are exciting and fun, then it's like a contrast and it balances it out.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: So Tori Birch is like color palette, she had some bright reds and bright oranges and yellows and all of that in her collection, and I really really love that.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: I feel I know for me personally, the colors that I wear, whatever seasons it is, actually.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you guys feel like this, but it actually affects my mood and how I'm feeling, and I'll even use it as a way to offset my emotions in terms of if I want to be feeling sunny today, I'll literally wear like a yellow outfit so I can just channel that energy.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: So I love the idea of especially in the autumn and winter, when most people are probably struggling with their energy levels, which can lead to their mental health in general, the state of that.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: I feel like adding color to your wardrobe is just a really simple and easy way to kind of influence your emotions to be a little bit more sunny and bright, just like the colors reflect.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: So I love the the Tory Birch collection for that.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: I'm actually gonna post a carousel on Instagram sometime this week, kind of highlighting the pieces in those collections that I specifically felt gravitated towards.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: So if you guys want to check out or you guys should check out the Salon Gazette Instagram page to see that because it's literally a visual thing, it's clothes is usually meant to be felt and to be seen, and so it would just feel kind of weird to me to try and describe to you how they look, and I I guess I'll try to attempt that in future episodes just to kind of help you guys a little bit to get a feel for what I'm talking about.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: But I think this is something, especially when we're talking about the world of fashion, this is something you just have to see.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: So check out the Salonga's Instagram page, you guys, and I'll post those, especially George Hobeka and Tori Birch.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: So those are the ones that I overwhelmingly loved and just felt super inspired by.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: Um, but the rest I also not as much as like overwhelming, like oh my god, but I did love them.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: So those were Ralph Lauren, Zimmerman, Christian Siriano, Carolina Herrera, and Burberry.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't even know.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: I don't want this episode to get too long, so I don't even know where to start to describe.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: I guess the one that's top of mind right now is especially Ralph Lauren, or no, no, no, Ralph Lauren.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: His name is the brand name is not Ralph Lauren.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: There was this whole thing about Europeans, especially correcting people saying that it's actually Ralph Lauren, and I'm not sure if it was him or people who were like close to him or close to the brand just corrected people and said, No, this is an American brand based out of New York, one of the leading cities, and it's Ralph Lauren.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, but this collection was so rustic and like regal cowboy chic.
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: I know, I don't know if that sounds off putting to some people, but it's just something that you honestly like have to see.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna post that again on the Salon Gazette Instagram page so you guys can check it out.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: But that collection, you guys, was so genuinely inspiring.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: And I keep saying that about a lot of these brands, but it's true.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: That's that's all I'm looking for.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: That's all I'm looking for.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: As a girly who loves to interact with art, it's just that inspiration, that choir de vive of like, oh my god, this is lighting up something inside of me, and it makes me want to do something.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: Either it makes me want to shop, it makes me want to incorporate this into my own my own wardrobe, it also makes me want to embody just I feel like it's too shallow to say the aesthetic of the clothes, but more so the people that it's trying to represent who are living in these clothes.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: It's like you want to buy into the lifestyle, and a lot of these brands like that might sound like oh, you're just trying to buy into luxury, but a lot of these brands, especially if they're getting that inspirational piece right the way that I like it.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: I'm just thinking, not necessarily, not at all.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Yes, it is elevated, and of course, you're conscious that this is a luxury brand, but it's more so about the story that it's telling about the people I love a good narrative.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: I think a lot of people, humans, do as social creatures, just love narrative and storytelling.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: Something about Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren, I can't help myself.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, something about the autumn-winter 2026 collection just made me want it to be the girl who whose story or the people whose stories were being told through that collection, just their lifestyle, what did their daily routines look like, etc.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: But I'm happy you guys, I'm happy with what I've seen so far.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: I yeah, I I feel like I'm not giving you guys enough.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: I do want to describe the collections to you guys, and maybe in the future I'll just jot down the emotions that I felt while I was taking in the collections, and then just kind of describe that for you guys here so you can get a sense of what it's giving.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: But I like I said, I don't want this episode to get too long, so and so the best that I can do is for you to keep an eye out on the Salon Gaza Instagram page, and I'll post all of those collections, you guys, because I feel like they deserve it.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: And even though we just talked about the complexities of the fashion industry, the fact that it's a business and that it's very complicated in terms of shareholders, it's not just about the inspiration.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: I think that I think I have more of an appreciation for brands and their creative directors who are able to walk that tightrope and be balanced about it, be able to give the consumers what they want in terms of inspiration and artistry, as well as satisfying their shareholders and the editors and the retailers, all of that.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: So I think that they at least for me, I want to I want to show what I've been inspired by, so yeah, keep an eye out.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: But moving on, it's a very busy time of the year right now.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: Of course, it has to do with fall and just us looking to our communities more and looking to interact more with one another as Hot Girl Summer is coming to an end.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: But it's also TV and film festival and award season, you guys.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: If you didn't know, so things like Tell Yuri Ride, the Venice Film Festival just happened a couple weeks ago, or maybe a week ago, I'm not sure.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: And as of this recording, the Emmys aired yesterday, so a lot of lots and lots and lots of energy in the air and in the zeitgeist right now.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: And I especially love the TV and film festival slash award season.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: So this all crescendos into the Oscars in early next year, like earlier in the year.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: Um, as some of you guys may know.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: So this starts with I believe I'm actually not sure.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to think, it's like slipping my mind right now.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: A lot of people like to say that it starts officially with the Emmys, that's when it kicks off.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: But there's a couple of things happening, a couple of wards.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: Well, I I should have done more or written more down in my notes right now, so I can have this information for you guys.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: But it usually kicks off like towards the end of summer and into September.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: So the Emmys just happened, so it has officially kicked off.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: I am especially looking forward to the film festival season as well, because I think those are my favorites.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: Obviously, the award shows and award season is exciting as well.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: It is super exciting, so I'm taking away from it.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: I think I prefer the film festivals because that's when a lot of new movies are being debuted, and I always am keeping an eye out on especially some of the podcasts that I listen to, or people who just there's a lot of buzz about the films that are being debuted, so I'm always ready to take recommendations based off of what people are saying and what movies they loved, etc.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: Just looking forward for them to kind of drop to the general public so that I can interact with them.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: I love the film industry and just the artistry of that in general, so I'm excited, you guys.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: It's such a buzzy time of year, and it can be pretty intimidating because there's just so much happening right now.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: But on another side, I really do enjoy the buzz of it all, and I think a lot of people look forward to this time too.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: So, with all of this kicking off, it really really is the close of summer, you guys.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: Really, duh.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: So, in closing, I wanted to share my Leo in Virgo playlist with you guys, what I was listening to this past season, what I've loved, and what I'm not keeping versus what I am taking with me, and artists that I've discovered, etc.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: So I'm just gonna get right into it.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: Um, but the albums that I was interacting with, or the albums that are on my Leo and Virgo playlist, are so this this artist that I discovered that I came across maybe like a year or two ago.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to think, it was around the time of this wedding I went to, and I'm pretty sure that was in 2024.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, 2024.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: So it's been two years now that I've come across this artist.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: His name is Taiki or young Bamileke Sol.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: Nah, I'm kidding.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: That's like his alias or his alter ego or something.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure what what that means, actually.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: I need to do more research into it, but his artist's name is Tyche, and it's spelled T-A-Y-C.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: And he's from Cameroon, and he is French spoken, and I love this man, he literally has the voice and the aura of an angel, which doesn't surprise me because he's a Pisces, so he's just so fluid in his voice, and uh just so poignant.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: I love him, but the album's name is Joya, and it's just so good, you guys.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: It's so so so so so so good.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: I think my favorite songs from that album were this one called it's called Girlfriend, there's another one called Need, there's another one called Valoin, Fanta Diallo, and Fier Solda.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: So those are my favorite singles or songs on that album.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: I really, really, really liked it.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: You know, when you come across an album that you don't really have to, like I told you guys, if I don't like a song, I'm just gonna remove it from my playlist or remove it from my library because I don't want to just for storage sake, I don't want to just have a bunch of songs in my library that I'm not liking or not listening to, and besides, it just makes having a playlist really complicated because if you don't like a song, then you have to do multiple skips.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, there were not really many, and the only songs that I removed from this album from my library were just like interludes or little speeches that he was giving, not really songs.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, this album seems to be kind of like an ancestral project for him, just really kind of touching in a spiritual way his roots with his ancestors and the journey that they've been on, and where he is now in his life, and how that was influenced by where he came from and the story of the people of his clan, like you know, his background.
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: And I found it very inspiring and touching and poignant and just really good music, just really, really, really good.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: The next the other the next album is by this artist, he's actually Haitian.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure if he was born in Haiti or his parents are Haitian, but he is of Haitian descent and he lives in France.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: His name is Joe Douetfilet.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: If you are Haitian, you know how important he's just like an up-and-coming artist in the Haitian community right now, and everyone is just so excited about him.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: He has like a notoriously infamous song called Kat Capé, and he even has a remix with Burna Boy.
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty sure a lot of people have have heard the song, but he released an album this year, it's called Hate Love, and yeah, it was pretty cute.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: It wasn't as no no no no no.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: He's he's really good.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: Like, if you just want to listen to good music, I feel like his his genre is kind of a maybe Haitian RB, it's just feel-good music, you know.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: His voice is amazing.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: It's not like you know, certain songs or certain artists you listen to, like they just have your brain exploding because they're so good.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: How are they this good?
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: And he does have some songs that are like that, but this album was more so just it just it felt more like a feel-good album to me, so yeah, it was pleasant.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I think if there was only maybe like two or three songs that I deleted from the album off of my library, but it was really good.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: I would definitely recommend it.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: Um, it yeah, the the album is giving like RB vibes, you know, story of love, breakups, that kind of stuff, healing, and not definitely not, it's not like crazy sad, it's not like depressing, it's not like uh Taylor Swift tortured poet department kind of album where you really or Lana Del Rey kind of vibe where you really have to brace yourself because your mood is gonna be impacted by this, but it is about just you know love and breaking up and all of that and healing from that, finding yourself again, etc.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: My favorite songs from that album were Rihanna, um, Mar Bella, and I think that's it.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm looking at the the list right now.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: Let me go look at my yeah.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: Oh, it was Rihanna, Mar Bella, and just a night, which is just just a night.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I really, really like that album.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, very simple, easy.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: I'm just scanning to see if I there's anything else I wanted to say about it.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: I really liked it, but yeah, moving on.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: I don't know, I'm scared to share.
- 34:04SPEAKER_00: Not scared, I'm reluctant to share this next album slash artist with you guys because I don't know why there's a part of me that really wants to gatekeep this girl.
- 34:14SPEAKER_00: And I will tell you guys right now, I am not a gatekeeper, I am not someone because I believe whenever I feel myself wanting to hold back or trying to gatekeep something, I always remind myself that it's important to live in an abundance mindset, and if I'm feeling like gatekeeping something, it's because I'm thinking that this is only what's available to me, so if I share it, then I'm not really gonna be quote unquote singular like that, but I don't like to think that way.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: I like to think that creativity or not creativity, taste is endless and infinite, especially when it comes from somewhere divine, like outside of yourself.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: So I like to think that way.
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: I think the reason I am I want to gatekeep this next artist is because she is so good, you guys.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: She's just amazing.
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: Do I share it or do I not share it?
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: Is it fair for me to gatekeep it?
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: And I know that since I'm already talking about it, it would be cruel if I didn't.
- 35:25SPEAKER_00: But whatever, I'm just gonna share.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: I'm just even though it's hard and I I want to just she's kind of she's a little bit obscure, and not many people well, I'm just looking at her following on social media and her views on on various platforms, etc.
- 35:43SPEAKER_00: It doesn't seem like and I haven't really seen her in the mainstream at all or heard her on radio or anything like that.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: So I know she's a little bit more obscure from the mainstream zeitgeist, but her name is Sasha Keble.
- 35:53SPEAKER_00: I think it would be a disservice to the artist if I'm not sharing their work, especially like she's so amazing, and I would not want to take away from just if it's good music, it's meant to be shared because I do think that music is super healing, it's a divine blessing, it's a divine like talent that's been given to us and obviously honed in on and worked on and all of that, but it just yeah, it's meant to be healing and transcend and really reach inside of you like that.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: And Sasha Kebel, she's from the UK, I believe.
- 36:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she's from the UK, and she is freaking amazing, you guys.
- 36:33SPEAKER_00: She was actually on my Gemini playlist back in early summer.
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: I was waiting to listen to this album that she released this year, but before I did that, I wanted to make sure that I listened to she doesn't really have that much released works out there.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: Well, she doesn't have that many albums, she only has two albums, and this is one of them.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: So the first one is Intermission, which was on my Gemini playlist earlier this summer.
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: But this one, which was released this year, is called Act Two, and the cover art is so badass, and she's so beautiful.
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: And I don't know if if her if it's natural or not, but her hair has this just golden, just immaculate ginger color.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: She's so beautiful, you guys, and soulful, and her voice is like warm butter and brown sugar, and just like a little bit of raunchiness, like she's so badass, so so so badass.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, I'm looking at her library right now in terms of her singles and her EPs, etc.
- 37:42SPEAKER_00: Let me see.
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she doesn't have that much released work out there.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I wonder if she's kind of new to the industry.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: No, she's been making music since well, released music since 2018.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: She's probably maybe she's just shy.
- 38:02SPEAKER_00: I did look look up her zodiac sign.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: She is a Pisces.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: Who knows?
- 38:06SPEAKER_00: Maybe she also likes to gatekeeper stuff, and I would totally understand because that woman, that girl, has the voice of an angel, you guys.
- 38:15SPEAKER_00: Her and Ray, like the artist Ray, are really at the top of my list in terms of just fave favorite artists like this.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say this year, but like ever so far.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: Just amazing.
- 38:30SPEAKER_00: Uh Sasha, Sasha, Sasha.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: Albums amazing.
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: Congratulations.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: I hope she keeps I hope she doesn't keep us waiting another what five years.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because her last album, her first album was released in 2021.
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: I hope she doesn't keep us waiting for another five years for more work because girl, I'm hooked and I need more of that.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: So I need you, you know, take your break.
- 38:52SPEAKER_00: She just released one this year, so I'll give her off even until next year, until 2028.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: But girl, you need to keep me fed because I am starving.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: Okay, for her music.
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: It's so good, you guys.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, here I was saying I wanted to gatekeep her, and now I'm just like totally raving about her.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: But if you guys go and listen, you will see, you will understand why I wanted to gatekeep her, or maybe you won't.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: I don't know what your taste and music are like, but her music is just objectively, objectively good.
- 39:27SPEAKER_00: Alright, I'm done raving, but moving on, I just had a couple, well, not a couple actually, a lot of singles on this playlist, as well as this Leo and Virgo playlist.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: But I guess I'll give an honorable mention to Nati Peluso.
- 39:40SPEAKER_00: I don't think this was an album, I think it was an EP because it's kind of short.
- 39:45SPEAKER_00: Let me hang on, I'm going on her profile right now, and yeah, it's not listed under album, it's listed under EP, I believe.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it's the Malportada EP, which was released last year in 2025, and just really really great.
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: I love Nati Peluso, you guys.
- 40:06SPEAKER_00: I came across her work in 2025 or 2024 since I moved back to New England, yeah.
- 40:20SPEAKER_00: I believe it was, and I just love her voice, you guys.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: She's so fierce.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: She is from Argentina, but I think she's lived or she's she lives in Spain, she's lived there for a while.
- 40:34SPEAKER_00: So I'm not sure what this genre of music, it's not reggaeton.
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: She does a lot of Mapotala more, so sounds like a salsa album, a salsa genre, but her voice is amazing, you guys.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: She had this album that she released in 2024, it's called Grasa, and that's the first, like, that's where I I kind of interacted with her, and I'm just hooked.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: She's amazing.
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: Her voice, dude, she's so fierce and just like superhuman.
- 41:06SPEAKER_00: She's a Capricorn.
- 41:07SPEAKER_00: Yes, I know all these artists is zodiac signs because I look it up and I just want to see what the energy is that I'm feeling, and like I think it's so interesting to interact with someone, and then you find out what their zodiac sign is, and then you kind of see, like, oh, okay, I guess I could see how her sign is coming out this way or that way.
- 41:29SPEAKER_00: So, in her being a Capricorn, she's you can definitely hear just the boss energy, fierce, and like oof, she'll give you a good dressing down just through her words, like her, you know how they say, like, if looks could kill, if words could kill, if voices could kill.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: She's amazing.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was it was it's a great EP, and I'm just waiting for her next album.
- 41:52SPEAKER_00: I'm excited for that.
- 41:53SPEAKER_00: Whenever that's coming, I actually need to go check out her socials to see if she's dropping any hints of any albums coming soon.
- 42:00SPEAKER_00: Because I'm a greedy music monster, and I need these artists too.
- 42:06SPEAKER_00: Not really, like, I'm not.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: Wait a minute.
- 42:10SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: This wasn't this was in May.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: I thought I saw something released in 2026, and I was like, wait a minute, let me find out that she already released one.
- 42:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm gonna go uh creep on her socials and just her work in general to see if there's any hints, hints, hints being dropped of an album.
- 42:32SPEAKER_00: And I feel like from what I see, she's constantly working.
- 42:35SPEAKER_00: So, of course, she's a Capricorn, probably workaholic, like all friggin' Capricorns.
- 42:40SPEAKER_00: So I don't doubt that she's probably and she seems to really, really enjoy what she does.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: You can just hear it in the music and her voice and how playful she is in her work.
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: You can tell she enjoys her work, so I can imagine like you love your job, and you're a work workaholic.
- 42:55SPEAKER_00: I I know that girl is in the studio just churning out, churning out works, so I'm waiting, Nathy.
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: Waiting, waiting, waiting.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: But yeah, the rest are just singles that I have.
- 43:08SPEAKER_00: I have quite a few actually, but maybe I'll give some honorable mentions as I'm scrolling through.
- 43:13SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, there's this this single I came across, you guys.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: It's called Benny Him, and it's by Andy Maneo, and it has a bunch of other other artists on there, featured on there, like words played, magic, etc.
- 43:27SPEAKER_00: That freaking song.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: I saw this reel on Instagram the other day that's like your speed, like as you're driving, changes based on your playlist, or like you're you're in the car with somebody who changes their playlist, and all of a sudden their speed picks up, something like that.
- 43:46SPEAKER_00: And this song, it was I was cracking up with that reel because I was just thinking about this song.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: It makes me feel like such a badass, so gangster.
- 43:55SPEAKER_00: The guy's voice in this song is so deep and Threatening and I love it.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: He sounds like a gangster.
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 44:04SPEAKER_00: This song is so gangster.
- 44:06SPEAKER_00: And whenever I play this song when I'm driving, I find myself needing to just speed and just be reckless.
- 44:14SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
- 44:15SPEAKER_00: But yeah, definitely honorable mention.
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: Um, it's Benny Him by Andy Minnesota, words played, etc.
- 44:25SPEAKER_00: What else?
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: There's oh Green Tea Pang.
- 44:29SPEAKER_00: I love Green Tea Pang.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: Uh, an uh another obscure artist that I've actually been listening to since wow, when I was in college, dude.
- 44:38SPEAKER_00: This was like when did she release medicine?
- 44:44SPEAKER_00: Or hang on.
- 44:46SPEAKER_00: Sorry, you guys.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: I'm just like in my music, app Apple music right now.
- 44:51SPEAKER_00: Just trying to click on her profile.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: I wanna see when she released this EP.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: I don't see her name.
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: Which is annoying.
- 45:06SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's right there.
- 45:07SPEAKER_00: Um, her name is Green Tea Pang again.
- 45:10SPEAKER_00: And wow, oh my god, I'm looking at some of the albums that I listened to like 2021.
- 45:17SPEAKER_00: I can't believe it's been that long already, dude.
- 45:19SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 45:21SPEAKER_00: But the name of this album or this EP that I first found her on, like I need to find the name because it's driving me crazy.
- 45:27SPEAKER_00: It's called Sensi.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: That's what it's called.
- 45:29SPEAKER_00: Scents.
- 45:30SPEAKER_00: I called it Medicine because there's a song on that EP called Medicine, right?
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: Yes, there is, but that was released in 2018.
- 45:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, since college, I've been listening to her.
- 45:42SPEAKER_00: So she has a couple of singles that she released.
- 45:46SPEAKER_00: I'm actually creeping right now on her profile in Apple Music to see if there's any new album coming.
- 45:53SPEAKER_00: I listened to her last album called Tell Them It's Sunny, which she released last year.
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, she she released the album last year, so she's probably not gonna release an album anytime soon, which I understand makes sense.
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: They're not employees, they're not you know surfs, so I don't wanna be one of those fans that are like, Oh my god, where that it's funny.
- 46:15SPEAKER_00: I was on Instagram, and you know how um Tyla just released an album this year in late summer, and in the comments there was a girl who was like, Girl, I already listened through the whole album, release two more, like so real, so valid.
- 46:32SPEAKER_00: But honestly, she's kidding.
- 46:34SPEAKER_00: But there are some people who will haggle their favorite artists, like, when are you releasing new music?
- 46:40SPEAKER_00: When are you releasing new music?
- 46:42SPEAKER_00: I'm just like, Oh my goodness, they're not employees, they're not, you know, they're artists, they need time for their crafts, etc.
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: And a lot of this comes from the heart, so you can't rush that's that stuff, so but green tea, I'm waiting, I'm waiting for the next album.
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: But yeah, so she has a couple of singles on this playlist, as well as Kirby.
- 47:10SPEAKER_00: She is just this queen of blues, amazing, amazing voice, literally a blues artist, just blues, rhythm and blues.
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: Her voice is just oh my goodness, the soul in that woman.
- 47:28SPEAKER_00: She's from Mississippi, and you can just hear the southern, like, oh, the seasoning and just the the soul and all of that.
- 47:36SPEAKER_00: But she has a couple of singles called Lose Myself and Saving Grace that I I really really really liked.
- 47:43SPEAKER_00: Um, also another artist called Teddy Bear, he's from France.
- 47:47SPEAKER_00: Uh, these two songs that I really liked called Chaussures and Tout Va Bien.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I really like them.
- 47:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, there's this new artist.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: Well, she's not new, but I'm this is my first time interacting with her, and I love her so far.
- 48:00SPEAKER_00: Her name is Louisa.
- 48:02SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure where she's from, like originally, but she's a French singer.
- 48:07SPEAKER_00: I wonder if she's out of France or Belgium.
- 48:11SPEAKER_00: I don't know, who knows?
- 48:12SPEAKER_00: But she has two songs, Soleil Bleu and Jetlag.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: Uh, I love them, I love them so much.
- 48:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I'm definitely excited to interact with more of her music.
- 48:23SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna check out actually if she has a couple albums out so that I can add them to my next playlists, etc.
- 48:33SPEAKER_00: But I think that's all.
- 48:34SPEAKER_00: As well as I put a couple of singles from Tyla's new album.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna listen to that next next month or whatever, sometime soon.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: I was kind of testing it out a little bit to see if I liked I love Tyla since I realized that I actually really like her music.
- 48:52SPEAKER_00: I think she became really famous with that single called Potter.
- 48:56SPEAKER_00: I was kind of like, oh no, she's just this mainstream girl, like she's gonna fall off sometime soon.
- 49:00SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 49:00SPEAKER_00: And then I just wanted to like support.
- 49:03SPEAKER_00: Obviously, she's like a South African baddie, and I just wanted to support, so I listened to her album.
- 49:10SPEAKER_00: Um I don't remember what the name is, like a couple years ago, and I really, really liked it, and I realized like, oh my goodness, her voice is amazing.
- 49:17SPEAKER_00: So I've I've been loving her, but there was this whole controversy going on where I don't know, I I don't want to repeat it here.
- 49:25SPEAKER_00: There was just a way that she was behaving and handling herself that kind of pissed me off and put me off with her, especially.
- 49:35SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, I don't want to be messy or anything like that, so I I'm not gonna I'm not gonna get into what the controversy was, but it kind of pissed me off, and I was like, listen, Tyla, just because you're popular doesn't mean that I don't know, you know, some artists like when they're new onto the zeitgeist, and obviously they're like they're talented, her behavior doesn't take away from the fact that she's truly talented, but there's some artists that I feel like yes, they have some talent, but they're not like crazy talented like that.
- 50:07SPEAKER_00: But as soon as they get a little bit of taste of fame, they kind of get cocky and arrogant and just turn into mean girls or or jerks in the public.
- 50:20SPEAKER_00: So I felt like I was getting a little bit of that vibe from Tyla, and it was pissing me off a little bit.
- 50:27SPEAKER_00: And I was just thinking to myself, like, okay, I'm not just gonna, I mean, Tyla, I'm not saying this as if Tyla needs my validation.
- 50:36SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about this is my podcast, I'm talking about me personally, whether it affects her or not.
- 50:41SPEAKER_00: That's not the point of this, it's just about my own desires and principles, etc.
- 50:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but I just didn't want to like if that's what I thought was happening, like feeding her sense of arrogance and clout.
- 50:56SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I'm not just gonna listen to your album if it doesn't have merit or that kind of stuff.
- 51:01SPEAKER_00: So I added a couple of singles, and I really, really like them.
- 51:04SPEAKER_00: So I'm like, okay, I'll get back on the Tyler Trend.
- 51:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, not trend, trained.
- 51:09SPEAKER_00: I actually remembered that okay, she is, or I was reminded or proven right that yes, she is genuinely talented, and my my nudge was kind of right.
- 51:21SPEAKER_00: I was also thinking at the time, like, you know, she's young, she's 23 or 22 or something.
- 51:27SPEAKER_00: She's super young, she's new to fame, she's also from another country, so I know that being somewhat of a foreigner myself, I know there's different like social norms that you don't really realize how you're coming off.
- 51:43SPEAKER_00: So I wasn't totally coming down her throat, but I was just like, I don't want to just be a part of some arrogant clout kind of groupie for this artist that's kind of a jerk, especially since she was um, I said I didn't want to get into it, but I'll just mention it like it was that whole thing, not all of it, but part of it was like that thing that was happening with Rihanna.
- 52:10SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, listen, a lot of us who like you, Tyla, because okay, wait, wait, a lot of us who like you are Rihanna fans, and a reason, uh yeah, a reason why we like Tyla so much is because she does have it seems like she does have influences of Riri, like like Riri is an inspiration to her, and I don't know why I realize that some artists they take offense at that when people kind of not necessarily compare them, just saying, because no art, nothing is born out of a vacuum, everybody is inspired by something, and of course, like you shouldn't copy someone, and that's not what what people were saying.
- 52:50SPEAKER_00: People were just saying that they kind of reminded she kind of reminded us of Rihanna, and that's a compliment because we love Riri over here, love her Zown.
- 53:01SPEAKER_00: She's literally my first um artist that I've ever loved, and of course, you know, she's such a role model, she's from the islands, like a girl, and just so inspirational.
- 53:17SPEAKER_00: Her fashion, she really is a fashion killer, just all around baddie.
- 53:22SPEAKER_00: Always love that woman.
- 53:24SPEAKER_00: I love her so so so much.
- 53:26SPEAKER_00: So when that that whole thing was happening around Rihanna, I was like, why is she being seems like she's just being like an arrogant mean girl?
- 53:36SPEAKER_00: Because I said I didn't want to be messy, but I'll just talk about it.
- 53:40SPEAKER_00: But do you guys remember or did there was this whole thing that happened at the Met Gala this year?
- 53:46SPEAKER_00: It was literally so small, like the moment was so small, but I feel like Tyla kind of made it bigger than it needed to be, and of course it's died out now, which is you usually how the news cycle is something else comes along, or it's the internet, people forget, etc.
- 54:02SPEAKER_00: But there was that whole thing where she was standing behind Rihanna in line, and she was kind of just standing there all awkwardly, and they weren't really talking, which you know there's no problem with that.
- 54:14SPEAKER_00: I I don't know, but she came out later.
- 54:18SPEAKER_00: People were kind of like trolling her or just trolling the situation.
- 54:21SPEAKER_00: Like, why is Tyla standing in the corner all awkward, like behind Riri?
- 54:25SPEAKER_00: Like, why aren't they talking?
- 54:26SPEAKER_00: I don't necessarily know why they needed to talk, but obviously, me, like if I see Rihanna, I I'm not gonna be like a crazy bitch, but I'm gonna go up to her and I'm gonna tell her, Listen, I love you and your work, and I just wanted to say hey, but obviously, you don't have to do that.
- 54:43SPEAKER_00: So people were trolling her, like, why is she standing in the corner?
- 54:46SPEAKER_00: lol, and she released this video, it was just this video of her talking and saying that I think she said hi to Riri or something, and Rihanna was kind of like really short with her or wasn't really giving her the attention.
- 55:00SPEAKER_00: The way that it was coming off, it seemed like Tyla felt like Rihanna owed her some type of acknowledgement as an artist.
- 55:13SPEAKER_00: I can understand if somebody doesn't acknowledge your existence, like they don't even say hi or look your way.
- 55:17SPEAKER_00: I'd feel some type of way, like, oh shit, like, do I not exist?
- 55:21SPEAKER_00: You know, kind of like when you go into the store and the people at the desk like they don't even look at you, like, hey, hello, welcome, thank you.
- 55:31SPEAKER_00: Um, but this way seemed like it seems to me like I don't know, I have I have this whole this whole thought process around it.
- 55:45SPEAKER_00: I'm just thinking Rihanna has been in the business much longer, she's older, she's with her husband, she has a family, like she's a woman, and at that, she's a private woman, and she did say hi to her.
- 56:00SPEAKER_00: My thing is like, why do you feel entitled for somebody to acknowledge you as an artist?
- 56:06SPEAKER_00: I don't know, I just feel like that's kind of arrogant.
- 56:08SPEAKER_00: No, but neither one of them had any obligation to acknowledge each other as any other way besides just like, hey, hey, what's up, what's up?
- 56:17SPEAKER_00: But I I don't know, it just made it seem like Tyler was expecting a reaction from Rihanna, and I'm like, why would you expect that?
- 56:24SPEAKER_00: She's literally Rihanna, and Rihanna's not, or at least I don't know her personally, but from her her social media footprint, you can kind of tell that she's not really like she doesn't take herself too seriously, and she's not arrogant, she has arrogant moments, she's Caribbean, of course.
- 56:40SPEAKER_00: Like, if you get on her nerves, she'll let you know, but it doesn't come off as arrogance, so I don't know.
- 56:48SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 56:49SPEAKER_00: I was just thinking, like, okay, it's a small moment, whatever, it's awkward.
- 56:53SPEAKER_00: My thing is, why did you have to go and make a video about it?
- 56:56SPEAKER_00: And I remember there was also something else about people kind of comparing her to Rihanna, which is not cool because people pit women against each other or people against one another way too much, like there's no need for competition, like they're both great and amazing.
- 57:14SPEAKER_00: But I think Tyler kind of blew up and was saying, like, she doesn't like she's not like Rihanna, she doesn't take inspiration from Rihanna, she's her own person.
- 57:22SPEAKER_00: And in my head, I was just thinking, girl, please.
- 57:25SPEAKER_00: We first of all, it's not an it's okay to say that somebody like Rihanna has inspired you because she is genuinely inspiring and like amazing, but like let's be for real, let's be for real, Tyla, with her style and her her tone of singing, and like her Tyla is from South Africa, by the way, and she has I don't know if we're really talking about it, like Rihanna's not your inspiration, soul inspiration, and and nobody was claiming that she was.
- 58:05SPEAKER_00: We were just saying, like, we get a little re-re feel from you, which is a compliment.
- 58:09SPEAKER_00: But when she was like trying to swear up and down that she doesn't, I'm like, all of this Caribbean genre that you're like hardcore leaning into, she's not Caribbean, she's from South Africa.
- 58:25SPEAKER_00: Where is that influence coming from?
- 58:27SPEAKER_00: Her voice, her fashion, etc.
- 58:30SPEAKER_00: And we're not saying that you guys are the same, we're just saying we get a little re-ree, and even if all of that is not coming from Rihanna, like why is it such a big deal?
- 58:40SPEAKER_00: It seems like she has a problem with it.
- 58:42SPEAKER_00: So if she has a problem with it, then it must be a big deal.
- 58:46SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 58:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that whole thing just kind of pissed me off, and Tyler was just giving me arrogant vibes.
- 58:52SPEAKER_00: Like, girl, just sit down and work, and your work will speak for itself.
- 58:57SPEAKER_00: So that's where I was coming from.
- 58:58SPEAKER_00: Like, why are you making a video about this small random moment?
- 59:03SPEAKER_00: Why did you let the trolls on the internet get to you?
- 59:05SPEAKER_00: But I I gave her grace because I was like, she's young, she's new to the fame industry.
- 59:09SPEAKER_00: Who knows?
- 59:10SPEAKER_00: We've all said things in the past and and blown up in certain ways that we shouldn't have, and etc.
- 59:20SPEAKER_00: But I was just thinking, like, okay, you know what?
- 59:22SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna play into the whole clout of Tyla, like her imagery on social media, etc.
- 59:28SPEAKER_00: Like fangirling after her.
- 59:29SPEAKER_00: Just like I just want her work to speak for itself, and I listened to a couple of her singles, and I really liked it, so I'm like, okay, okay, yeah, her work is speaking for itself.
- 59:40SPEAKER_00: So I'm back on the Tyla train.
- 59:43SPEAKER_00: I forgive you, girl.
- 59:44SPEAKER_00: Just when it comes to Rihanna, don't play with us.
- 59:48SPEAKER_00: Because I guarantee you, given the choice of your fans, given the choice between Rihanna or Tyla, we will choose Riri, hands down.
- 59:59SPEAKER_00: And it doesn't have to be one or the other.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_00: We all want it to be both.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_00: Just don't be weird about it.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_00: Anyways, anyways, I love Tyla.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_00: I love her music.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_00: Um, and I'm excited to listen to this new album that she released.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_00: But yeah, moving on, sorry, that was like a whole spiel.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_00: I said I wasn't gonna get into it, but it was too enticing not to.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_00: And it's not a big deal.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_00: It was just it was just, I know it seemed like I was I was so passionate about this, but it was just a little thing that happened in the zeitgeist, and I was just kind of like, it just made me think like, huh, I wonder what's going on there.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_00: I wonder why Tyler's acting this way.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_00: Like, girl, we're all rooting for you.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_00: Like, don't start acting weird like some of these celebrities, especially, you know, like we want you to be a girls girl because we're all girls girls, so please, no infighting, anyways.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_00: The last single that I wanted to mention is, or actually, there's two, but can we just talk about Chincho Collione?
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure where he's from, actually.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_00: He might be Puerto Rican or from the islands somewhere, a Spanish-speaking island.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_00: I know he's not Dominican, not Cuban, but I'm pretty sure he's Puerto Rican, but I love Chincho Collione, you guys.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_00: Ugh, his voice is so good, and he's so freaking talented and innovative.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_00: He sounds like an angelic robot when he sings, just so futuristic, like it's so robotic, but also emotional at the same time.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_00: It's like uh it's like uh polar opposites of a spectrum, it's amazing, it's so inspiring and just uh so good.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_00: But yeah, he has these two singles.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_00: Um, and it's kind of not fair that I'm grouping her under this, but this artist called Badgya, she I'm not sure where she's from, but she's been on my radar for a little bit.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_00: I've kind of just been interacting with some of her singles because I don't like to commit to listening to whole albums.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_00: Because if I did that for every artist I came across, it would just be a lot of material to get through and and to genuinely interact with because it's one thing to just listen to something, but to actually let it penetrate your subconscious, like you have to listen to it over and over again and interact with it, etc.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, after this, I'm definitely adding a couple of her albums or an album of hers.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure if she I wonder if she's released a new album at all this year or she did, yes, 2026.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_00: It's called Mascara More Face.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_00: I'm adding that to my to listen playlist.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_00: Every song I've listened to her by her so far has I've really really loved so I'm now ready to listen to an album by her.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_00: So yeah, you guys, that was my Leo and Virgo playlist.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_00: I'm actually now that I'm thinking about it and just thinking about letting it go, I'm happy to be putting it behind me and just moving on.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_00: This this was actually really healing, you guys.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_00: It's like a it's it's a good feeling of closure that I'm feeling right now, kind of like a send-off, a final farewell to summer.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_00: And now that I've shared that, I'm excited to move on to Libra season and Scorpio season.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_00: So this was really healing for me.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, really satisfying, and I feel like I have closure.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_00: But yeah, in closing, what I wanted to say, what I put in my notes is that I okay, so I'm I really want to make a separate episode, not like the entire episode dedicated to this, but a good chunk of the episode just kind of dedicated to helping us channel the energy of autumn, and what I mean by channel is to actually live seasonally, so all the themes that come with the seasons like summer and spring, and all the things that we embody like vivaciousness, being alive, bringing new things into our lives, initiating things, taking action, being outside, all of these things.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_00: I want to sense again.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, it's a good thing, it's a good thing.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_00: Now that it's fall, now that it's autumn, I want to make a separate episode talking about how I'm channeling the season, how I'm helping kind of helping myself to be at peace or be grounded about being in the season and not being miserable, etc.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_00: And I was also doing some research about universally what the season means, etc.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna make I'm gonna come back with a different episode where a good chunk of this episode of that episode is gonna be about that, but I wanted to touch on a little bit about how I was saying the 21st of this month of September is the Autumn Equinox, and two days later it's the beginning of Libra season.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_00: So I in the spirit of that, I was thinking about autumn and the things that the reason why I'm feeling kind of this hang-up or this mourning of the summer season and what it is that I'm mourning.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, besides like the weather, things like that, you know, like yes, that's valid, but it'll come back around.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_00: But another thing, or one of the other things that I've realized is that I'm kind of mourning the sense of initiation and action because I've noticed that in the fall and in the winter, things just slow down significantly, like energy levels, as well as I've noticed things take longer to kind of get moving, or it's harder for me to initiate things.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure why.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_00: Like part of it is energy levels, as well as it just seems like I'm not even kidding you.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_00: Guys, I'm not even kidding you, but it just seems like something is against me.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_00: Like I'll try to maybe start this thing, and there'll be a hang up, there'll be an obstacle, and the obstacles will be constant, and it'll just slow down my progress, and that drives me nuts.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_00: So I've decided that I'm doubling down on the work for any goals this season because the lack of initiation and just the speed and like the slowdown is just is driving the fire sign in me crazy, like it drives that part of myself crazy.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_00: So because I am always on the lookout for bettering or protecting, I should say, protecting my mental health, which for a lot of people it's connected to like your energy levels, etc.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_00: I'll I've decided that I am doubling down and just putting in the extra work where the obstacles keep coming, just doubling down on getting past those obstacles.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_00: And I realize that I'll have to be balanced about this and just make sure that I'm not being reckless so that I'm not just causing damage, you know.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_00: But slowing way down in the past has made me like so unhappy, and so, like I said, even if the work doubles or the obstacles like keep coming, I'm getting past them and I'm doing them.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_00: As long as you know, I do believe in God and some things are just not meant to happen, and you're not supposed to push past certain things.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_00: So I'll like I said, I'll have to be balanced about this and just be reflective about what it is that I'm doing and be really, really, really intentional about what I'm doing, looking at every aspect of if it's the right time or if it is if it is or it isn't, why it's not the case, etc.
- 1:07:52SPEAKER_00: Just looking at everything, but still, I am not postponing some of the things that I want to do or initiate this season because of the energy of this season, like, and I think it's a good thing, I think it's it's it's meant to be because, like I said, these things have really done damage to my mental health in the past, and I am a fire sign, and there's just like that doesn't change depending on the seasons.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna keep going, and I'm excited because I don't know if you guys have noticed, but the zeitgeist is speeding up right now, and believe it or not, that's actually part of the yin of autumn.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_00: It has to do with like strengthening social ties and community ties, etc.
- 1:08:40SPEAKER_00: And you know, things like school have started, it's fashion week right now, it's award seasons, etc.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_00: I'm just like such a student of contemporary culture.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_00: So I'm excited.
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_00: If you guys have noticed, the zeitgeist is speeding up.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_00: People are looking forward to strengthening social and community ties right now.
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm excited for the creativity and the buzz of the social world that's coming to life because like spring and summer really, really is about well, especially summer.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_00: Like, if you've noticed, things kind of like people leave, they're living their own life, they're having like their best hot girl, hot, I was gonna say hot boy.
- 1:09:21SPEAKER_00: I don't like that hot boy summer, and I don't want to say hot man summer because if it's hot man, then why not hot woman?
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_00: But that doesn't sound right, anyways.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_00: Everyone's living their best life, having their best summer, they're focusing more on their own goals, on people are not as I mean, people are social, like they're outside, but I feel like everyone has like their own thing going on in the summer versus when it's winter, everyone is just feeling this pull, or not winter, when it's the yin seasons, like the beginning of autumn and winter.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_00: People are just feeling more drawn to their communities because I think it just feels like the world is closing up on us and like the energy is slowing down, and you're just feeling like, oh shoot, I kind of feel isolated.
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_00: I want to be talking to my beeps and supporting, and it just makes sense, honestly.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_00: I'm literally getting ahead of myself and already talking about some of the things I want to talk about in the other episode in the next episode about autumn.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_00: But I just wanted to say real quick, it makes sense because if we think about it for practical reasons, when it starts, especially if you live in a climate or a part of the world where there are seasons, it just makes sense that in the colder seasons people would rely more on their community and their social ties because things get hard, like people are not farming, they're harvesting in the fall, yes, and now they they want to make something out of that harvest, or things just get harder, so people lean on their village more.
- 1:10:53SPEAKER_00: It takes a village, right?
- 1:10:55SPEAKER_00: So it just makes sense.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_00: But that's all that I'm gonna say at the risk of talking too much and already addressing the material that I want to talk about in that episode I just told you guys.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna stop right here.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_00: But here we go again with that feeling that I get at the end of every episode when I've had a good yap session.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_00: The feeling of I'm missing something.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_00: There's something that I haven't talked about, but that's again, as I always say, that's how I know it was a good episode or a good yap session.
- 1:11:29SPEAKER_00: So don't mind me, you guys.
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_00: I'm just scanning my notes right now.
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_00: I can't believe I talked about everything I wanted to talk, like it just seems like it wasn't enough.
- 1:11:39SPEAKER_00: What did I miss?
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_00: I didn't miss anything.
- 1:11:43SPEAKER_00: We talked about fashion month, we talked about by the way, you guys, for fashion month, I told you guys about the leading cities in the industry, like New York, London, Milan, Paris.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_00: I also want to come back with a uh different episode somewhere talking about the various fashion weeks globally as well as what surrounds like what what it entails within those leading cities, like those four that I just mentioned, and the brands that are based out of there, etc.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I think that'll be a fun so not dedicated to it like the whole episode, but just part of an episode.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, I'm scanning my notes right now, you guys.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_00: I talked about spring summer 2027 collection.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, TV and film, festival award season, etc.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_00: My Leo and Virgo playlist, the closing of summer.
- 1:12:48SPEAKER_00: This was a good salon session, you guys.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_00: Because I feel like I'm missing something, so I think I'm gonna leave you guys here.
- 1:12:57SPEAKER_00: This was really fun.
- 1:12:59SPEAKER_00: I hope you guys enjoyed this salon session.
- 1:13:02SPEAKER_00: And until then, I'm trying to think if I have any parting advice or parting words.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_00: I think that's it.
- 1:13:10SPEAKER_00: I love you guys.
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_00: Thanks for coming to the salon, and until next time, bye!
