- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Have you ever thought about setting up your own business?
- 0:42Becoming your own. Boss but haven't actually done
- 0:46it yet. Maybe it feels.
- 0:47Daunting. Maybe there's a?
- 0:49Fear of failure or being embarrassed or being judged by
- 0:52other people. Adam here.
- 0:54And you're about to hear a hypnosis session on this thing
- 0:58specifically because I was working with a client that was
- 1:02very successful doing social media marketing for some of the
- 1:07biggest brands in the world, but felt nervous and anxious about
- 1:11doing it for themselves. So actually they had thought
- 1:15about it a lot, but they were very reluctant.
- 1:18And there's a great phrase called analysis paralysis where
- 1:21you think about something so much that actually you end up
- 1:24doing less. And this client was in that trap
- 1:27of analysis paralysis. So what it does here in this
- 1:31hypnosis session is a form of creating 2 very different
- 1:36timelines. A timeline where they spend the
- 1:39next year thinking about running their own business, having their
- 1:43own agency, doing freelance stuff for other people, but just
- 1:46not doing it. And then a timeline where they
- 1:49do. And even if they have setbacks
- 1:52in that timeline where they do stuff, they become wiser, they
- 1:55become more experienced, they become much more knowledgeable
- 1:59about that sector. And then they get to compare two
- 2:01different versions of themselves.
- 2:03A version a year from now where they're kind of in the same
- 2:06place, but a year's gone by and then a version of themself.
- 2:09A year of. Doing a lot of stuff, learning a
- 2:12lot of stuff, figuring out lots of stuff, solving problems as
- 2:15they go along and how much better off they would.
- 2:17Be. And the irony is that the
- 2:20version of them that does a lot of stuff fails more frequently,
- 2:23but the failure is necessary for the feedback and the learning,
- 2:27so actually in order to move forward sometimes.
- 2:32You have to. Be willing to make mistakes,
- 2:34have setbacks, have disappointed clients, fail.
- 2:38But learn from that. And by learning from that, you
- 2:41end up being infinitely better than you would have been had you
- 2:46not tried. And it has this connotation to
- 2:49one of my favorite movies based on on the concept of a time
- 2:53loop, and that's Groundhog Day. In Groundhog Day, the Bill
- 2:57Murray character, because he knows every day he's going to
- 3:00repeat, starts doing these kind of outlandish stuff because
- 3:05whatever happens, he can learn and then apply it the next day.
- 3:07And when you start thinking of life like that, where you either
- 3:11win or you learn, you get to move forward at a radically
- 3:15faster rate than if you're just on the sidelines.
- 3:19You know. With trepidation and fear and
- 3:22just watching and observing other people because you don't
- 3:25move forward. You either win or you learn.
- 3:27If you do stuff, you either. Get the result you want or.
- 3:30The experience, which is one of my favorite belief systems.
- 3:33This session was created for an individual.
- 3:36It might be that your thing isn't a business.
- 3:39Maybe you want to be an actor or a singer or an author or an
- 3:44artist or something like that. It doesn't matter what The thing
- 3:47is. What matters is are you actually
- 3:50doing anything that is aligned with that vision or are you on
- 3:54that kind of? Precipice where you're just.
- 3:57Waiting and hoping that something happens if you have.
- 4:01A future. That you really desire and
- 4:03you're not implementing or doing things that align with that yet.
- 4:07Then I think you'll get some value from this session.
- 4:09Obviously it's business related for this client, so if you would
- 4:14benefit from a more bespoke customized session, there will
- 4:18be a link in the description where you can schedule a free
- 4:20consultation call and we can explore working together.
- 4:23For now, though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:26won't be. Disturbed, relax and enjoy the
- 4:29session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 4:57you breathe in, breathe in that slow, long, relaxing breath.
- 5:06And as you exhale just feel a sense of release, as if any
- 5:16tension or worries are leaving your body in your outward
- 5:22breath. Breathing in, relaxation and
- 5:30exhaling tension. That's it.
- 5:35Eyelids getting heavier, jaws starting to loosen, neck and
- 5:41shoulders relaxing. That's it.
- 5:46And when you breathe in, breathe in slightly deeper.
- 5:51And as you exhale, just continue the outward breath for longer
- 5:57than usual, breathing out for longer in for deeper, each
- 6:04breath taking you deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 6:15The deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 6:20And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 6:24And as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 6:31And I want you to imagine keeping your body exactly where
- 6:35it is and yet imagining that you're floating up out of
- 6:40yourself like an out of body experience.
- 6:46Perhaps you can even imagine seeing yourself like you're
- 6:49looking down on yourself and allow that part, your
- 6:54imagination, to float to a different space and place in
- 7:03time. An impressive ornamental garden
- 7:11with soft green grass and exotic trees on a day with sunshine and
- 7:19blue skies. Just imagine floating to that
- 7:24place and touching down barefoot on the soft grass.
- 7:31Imagine wearing any clothing appropriate to be in that warm
- 7:36ornamental garden. Imagine smelling the fragrance
- 7:41of different flowers, trees, and I want you to get a sense that
- 7:48here your imagination can explore possibilities, wonderful
- 7:55possibilities that enhance your life.
- 8:03And I want you to imagine somewhere in that garden is a
- 8:10pathway that splits into two, like a fork in the road.
- 8:18And I want you to imagine that the left hand path represents
- 8:25more of the same. Imagine this left hand pathway
- 8:33is a future of intentions but not action, of thinking but not
- 8:43doing. I want you to get a sense that
- 8:49that that is a future of more of what you have been doing,
- 8:58thinking about things in a certain way than feel
- 9:04paralysing. And the right hand pathway is a
- 9:11version of you that just does it, that launches, that works,
- 9:23that does things. And just imagine this pathway on
- 9:27either side is representing one year worth of time.
- 9:35And I want you to imagine seeing that first version of you
- 9:38walking down that pathway. And you're the observer.
- 9:46I want you to see yourself caught in a fear cycle.
- 9:56But what if I don't deliver? What if I fail?
- 10:02What if it doesn't work out? What if people judge me?
- 10:06Just observe that version of you looking stuck.
- 10:15See that version of you thinking, planning, but never
- 10:23doing? That version of you always has a
- 10:32reason why not. And notice that version of you
- 10:37is able to do incredible things in their job, but not for
- 10:42themself. That version of you is fearful,
- 10:47hesitant. That version of you thinks that
- 10:53if you just think more, plan more, research more, you can
- 11:00mitigate those risks. But here, as the observer, you
- 11:05can see that it just creates more friction, more hesitancy.
- 11:15And I want you to see that months go by and a year from
- 11:19now, imagine seeing yourself with the same plans, the same
- 11:25goals, but one year of experience has been wasted,
- 11:33lost. Some people believe that you
- 11:37either win or you learn. But in this timeline, neither
- 11:44happened. You didn't have that successful
- 11:47business, but you didn't learn from it either.
- 11:54Hesitation. Procrastination is the thief of
- 12:00experience. But more importantly, see that
- 12:06some of that enthusiasm has worn off.
- 12:11That version of you has become a bit more jaded.
- 12:19That version of you now has loads of excuses and reasons why
- 12:24it wouldn't have worked anyway, but you never tried.
- 12:30If you get a sense that this is a future you're keen to avoid,
- 12:35let me know about nodding your head.
- 12:36That's it. And then just rewind it all.
- 12:39Find yourself at that fork in the road, there in that garden,
- 12:47and this time see a different version of you about to take the
- 12:50right hand path. There is something about your
- 12:54expression that seems decisive. There's something about that
- 13:04version of you that couldn't care less about failing, not
- 13:13because you want to fail, but because you know that it's
- 13:18impossible for everything to be perfect.
- 13:21Therefore, why try? That version of you believes
- 13:26that you either win or you learn and therefore you can't lose.
- 13:33It either goes the way you want, or you get invaluable, priceless
- 13:39experience, wisdom and feedback to improve the probability the
- 13:46next time. That version of you looks
- 13:50courageous, unstoppable, determined.
- 13:57There is a look of deep resolve in those eyes.
- 14:03And then see what that version of you does over the next few
- 14:08days. And maybe maybe it's choosing a
- 14:15company name, building a website, having a social
- 14:20channel, building a pipeline, A funnel, a way of acquiring
- 14:25clients, tiers of packages, working with clients in such a
- 14:32way that you get to find out what works.
- 14:38And I want you to see that version of you starts doing
- 14:44things, planning campaigns, creating things.
- 14:50That version of you is doing it initially in your free time, and
- 14:56that's fine. That version of you considers
- 14:58this a hobby. That could be a very lucrative
- 15:05hobby. And I want you to see every
- 15:10success gives you a spring in your step, and every set back
- 15:15gives you pause for thought. Deep reflection, analysis.
- 15:24What can you learn from it? The success is recharge your
- 15:32batteries and the setbacks make you wiser, more knowledgeable,
- 15:39more credible. I don't want you to say that
- 15:43initially. It's not about making money.
- 15:48Some people believe that you learn before you earn.
- 15:54So in the first few weeks you learning at a faster rate.
- 15:58Not through theory, but through experience.
- 16:04That's what you're learning and before long you've got clients
- 16:11paying you because you're worth it.
- 16:15The value is there. Each client becomes a case
- 16:21study, the testimonial, an anecdote, more evidence as to
- 16:28how you can create value. As time goes on, you become more
- 16:33discerning. You don't take any client, only
- 16:38the ones that you know that your approach really helps.
- 16:43Not everyone is right for you, and you're not right for
- 16:46everyone. See the discernment and then see
- 16:53some point perhaps in that 12 month period you've reached
- 17:00escape velocity because when more revenue comes through your
- 17:05new business than your current job, then there is an
- 17:11opportunity cost to continue that job.
- 17:15It's costing you to have that job, so you end it knowing that
- 17:22you don't need it because it's so much more fulfilling and
- 17:26satisfying to do your own thing than doing it for someone else.
- 17:33And I want you to see a year from now, there is now two
- 17:38different versions of you. The version of you that thought
- 17:43and planned, analysed but didn't do anything, and the version of
- 17:49you with a year's worth of priceless experience.
- 17:56And notice, the one with the experience and the one with the
- 18:01success also had way more failures.
- 18:07Because failures weren't the problem, they were an essential
- 18:12part of the journey of developing more skills, more
- 18:20insight and more discernment. And now go back to the fork in
- 18:27the road and decide which version of you do you want to
- 18:33be. But the real decision won't be
- 18:38what you decide. It will be based on what you do.
- 18:45If you analyse but don't execute, you chose the left hand
- 18:49path. If you do, you try, you execute.
- 18:58You took the right hand path. Allow your actions to make the
- 19:04decision for you. You set the intention and
- 19:12reality is your decision. That's it.
- 19:19I want you to imagine leaving that fork in the road knowing
- 19:24that that will happen over the next few days and weeks anyway.
- 19:30For now, it's time to float back to your present.
- 19:34But you do so with a new level of self belief, a new feeling of
- 19:45tenacity and determination, a new resolve to believe in your
- 19:53future self. It's time to float back from
- 19:58that garden back to your physical body.
- 20:00Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 20:04nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 20:07wiggle your toes as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 20:12you. Starting to count 123 Waking up
- 20:18456. More alert 7-8 Open your eyes.
- 20:22Open your eyes 910. Wide awake, Wide awake.
- 20:28Wide awake. Thank you.
