Latest / FPL Pod / S8 Ep23: FPL Pod: Navigating the midfield power trio
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: It's a chaotic show this week, as Jules is unsurprisingly
- 0:04Speaker 1: running late. We plow on through though, as we discuss
- 0:06Speaker 1: the big moves in midfield, if we all need the
- 0:09Speaker 1: Power three, and who can help us with budget? Hello Ange,
- 0:18Speaker 1: Welcome back to this week's FPL Pods, and it's a
- 0:20Speaker 1: pod with a slight difference this week because Good morning Sam,
- 0:24Speaker 1: Good morning Kenny, and we don't have our usual third guest.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Good morning, Lee Bonfield.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Good morning Kelly.
- 0:34Speaker 1: How are you? I'm all right, Thank you. We are
- 0:36Speaker 1: indebted to you and the Bonfield family. We've had a
- 0:39Speaker 1: bit of chugging around this morning because unsurprisingly the ender
- 0:42Speaker 1: one has overbooked himself. He was on his way back
- 0:45Speaker 1: from Paris because he was working there last night. You
- 0:47Speaker 1: may have seen him gloating all over social media and
- 0:49Speaker 1: his train shock is delayed, and so Lee has kindly
- 0:53Speaker 1: stepped in. So yeah, Lee, how much notice did you have?
- 0:56Speaker 1: Not much? Not a lot.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I mean it feels it feels kind of typical for
- 0:59Speaker 2: this season. So many last minute winners, that's very true,
- 1:03Speaker 2: last minute draft into the pod. So yeah, feels all
- 1:05Speaker 2: right for this season.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Okay for those of us, of those listeners that perhaps
- 1:09Speaker 1: haven't heard from you as much or don't know how
- 1:11Speaker 1: your season's going. Just fill us in on how it's
- 1:13Speaker 1: gone to this point.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Oh rollercoaster, Kelly. I mean, I listen to you guys
- 1:17Speaker 2: every week and you're always talking about, Oh, good game week,
- 1:20Speaker 2: bad game week. I feel exactly the same. I can't
- 1:22Speaker 2: get any consistency this season. It's a very very tough season.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Of course, we've had all the different rule changes, haven't
- 1:28Speaker 2: we with the defensive contributions, extra chips, everything else. But
- 1:31Speaker 2: even if you chuck those into the mix, it's still
- 1:33Speaker 2: been a very inconsistent season, I think. So I'm about
- 1:36Speaker 2: six hundred ish K at the moment. A really good
- 1:40Speaker 2: week actually in game week sixteen, so it's a good
- 1:42Speaker 2: week to get me on. But yeah, up and down, Kelly,
- 1:45Speaker 2: I think is the way I would describe my season.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Okay, well, it sounds like it's been more up than
- 1:48Speaker 1: mine and Sam's that's for sure. I know from Lee's rank.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I was about to my next question is going to
- 1:53Speaker 1: be who's winning out of the two of you, But
- 1:54Speaker 1: I know from Lee telling me his rank there it
- 1:56Speaker 1: is Lee. At the moment, Sam, let's talk about the
- 1:59Speaker 1: last game week, how did you feel about it, because
- 2:02Speaker 1: for me, it was a good game, meek, and it
- 2:04Speaker 1: felt like it was overall when I looked at your team,
- 2:06Speaker 1: actually hold on a sec. I got a bone to
- 2:08Speaker 1: pick with you. You did not mention you were doing
- 2:10Speaker 1: that many transfers, Kelly.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I wasn't planning to do that many transfers, and I
- 2:14Speaker 3: was going to confess to it on this podcast.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Because no, I'm not letting you confess. I'm telling you
- 2:18Speaker 1: off about doing that before you were able to confess.
- 2:21Speaker 3: I apologized and I was like what I honestly so,
- 2:26Speaker 3: I had made two and I was fully intending to
- 2:29Speaker 3: just make too. I'd done Pope to Reya, I done
- 2:31Speaker 3: Matesta Citiago, and that was going to be it. I
- 2:34Speaker 3: was going to stop there. And then I just went
- 2:37Speaker 3: into Bruno Fernandez panic and I was like, I need him.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I can't do any understand it.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I do understand it. Yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 3: It was one of those where I was like, I
- 2:45Speaker 3: can't do another Monday I just can't sit through another
- 2:47Speaker 3: Monday night football without Bruno Fernandez. And in the end
- 2:50Speaker 3: it was it was a good thing that I did it.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I made a few sacrifices. One of them I'm I
- 2:55Speaker 3: did Virgil to Cash and that was a bit of
- 2:57Speaker 3: a one week punt. It was like, let's play the
- 2:58Speaker 3: fixture this week and then cash on again. On reflection,
- 3:02Speaker 3: with Cash getting zero, it actually would have been more
- 3:04Speaker 3: sensible for me to just go straight to the player
- 3:06Speaker 3: that I wanted.
- 3:06Speaker 1: For this week.
- 3:07Speaker 3: But at last it is what it is. It was
- 3:09Speaker 3: a green arrow, which I was peaced about in the end.
- 3:11Speaker 3: It was red until Bruno, and then Bruno made it green,
- 3:14Speaker 3: which made me think that using.
- 3:15Speaker 1: All five transfers exactly.
- 3:19Speaker 3: So I was happy in the end sixty nine points
- 3:22Speaker 3: and my team feels like it's set up now, apart
- 3:24Speaker 3: from the one chansfer that I plan to make this week.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I feel like I'm set up now for the busy
- 3:28Speaker 1: Christmas period. So you are still planning to use transfer
- 3:31Speaker 1: this week, I didn't know if you'd try and hold them.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I'm planning to still do one. That was fully part
- 3:35Speaker 3: of the intention. When I used five last week, I
- 3:37Speaker 3: thought I'll use one as a little fun pump for
- 3:38Speaker 3: the week.
- 3:39Speaker 1: That was the Matty Cash pick. It was no fun.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I did not enjoy out and so now I'm moving
- 3:46Speaker 1: on this week. But I won't spoil that. I'll say
- 3:47Speaker 1: it till the end. Yes, stay till the end when
- 3:50Speaker 1: hopefully a certain tune in one might have joined us
- 3:51Speaker 1: by then. Who knows, It depends on that train. Yeah,
- 3:54Speaker 1: for myself, I just made the one transfer and I
- 3:58Speaker 1: was what was my one transfer? I'm looking at my
- 3:59Speaker 1: team and I can't remember what one transfer was.
- 4:01Speaker 4: You.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you very much. I'm glad you know
- 4:04Speaker 1: the team better than I did. Yeah, well, I know,
- 4:08Speaker 1: I knew it was. It feels like so long ago now,
- 4:09Speaker 1: and it was such a boring transfer. It felt that
- 4:12Speaker 1: everyone was doing But I'm pleased. I'm pleased I did it,
- 4:15Speaker 1: and I've done what I wanted to do. I'd already
- 4:17Speaker 1: set myself up with doing Fodin and Bruno before because
- 4:20Speaker 1: they were the two.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Like you said, there there were the two.
- 4:21Speaker 1: That if one was clamoring to get one and if
- 4:24Speaker 1: you hadn't been able to get them in before, the
- 4:26Speaker 1: five transfers were your opportunity. So it makes total sense.
- 4:28Speaker 1: But I've done that. So I'm hoping to just be
- 4:30Speaker 1: using one or two transfers a week to just keep
- 4:32Speaker 1: me ticking over and.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Phone and Bruno. Yeah, it was was really good for
- 4:36Speaker 3: me Van, by the way that you know you used
- 4:39Speaker 3: a lot of transfers Jews did four. Yeah, I was
- 4:42Speaker 3: going to say, do you want to fill the listeners
- 4:43Speaker 3: in on? I was about to reel off what he did,
- 4:45Speaker 3: but you can go with it gone. The thing is
- 4:48Speaker 3: that I'm not surprised.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And he was. He's just like one of those people
- 4:54Speaker 1: that would just do He always does the opposite to
- 4:56Speaker 1: what he says on this show. I expect that. I
- 4:58Speaker 1: don't expect that of you.
- 4:59Speaker 4: No.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I thought he might get soccer actually, and he didn't
- 5:01Speaker 3: do that. So did Minster Bruno. He did Netto to
- 5:04Speaker 3: Harry Wilson, which was the transfer or League got Harry
- 5:06Speaker 3: Wilson as well. Both both great with his sixteen point
- 5:09Speaker 3: haul that was lovely, Pope Deraya, and then he also
- 5:12Speaker 3: did Gabrielle to Anderson. So yeah, I was surprised that
- 5:15Speaker 3: he didn't get soccer as part of his transfers, but
- 5:18Speaker 3: I guess that was probably budget funded. I'm sure you'll
- 5:20Speaker 3: tell us later.
- 5:20Speaker 1: We still got eighty one points even without that. Dene
- 5:22Speaker 1: he had a really good eighty two. Eighty Oh no,
- 5:25Speaker 1: it's me that got eighty one, damn it. I thought, Yeah, Okay, yeah,
- 5:27Speaker 1: eighty two points without soccer, is you got pretty impressive
- 5:31Speaker 1: in there. Yes, And actually we should probably talk about
- 5:34Speaker 1: that because I did say last week I was probably
- 5:36Speaker 1: ninety ten at this point last week of going to
- 5:38Speaker 1: triple Captain soccer because I've still got the bench boost
- 5:42Speaker 1: as well, and i still actually don't know when I'm
- 5:45Speaker 1: going to use the bench boost, but it just came
- 5:47Speaker 1: down in the end too. It's a straight shootout for me.
- 5:50Speaker 1: The triple Captain is a more powerful chip than bench boost.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I think bench boosters, Yes, you can plan it well,
- 5:56Speaker 1: but also it just feels like it's a little bit
- 5:58Speaker 1: more luck. I don't know it just I never have
- 6:00Speaker 1: good bench boosts. So I was like, whereas I think
- 6:01Speaker 1: trouble happens a lot more potential And it just did
- 6:04Speaker 1: a straight shootout socker against Wolves when I was still
- 6:06Speaker 1: a little bit worried about his minutes. And to be honest,
- 6:09Speaker 1: that was a roller coaster watching him last weekend, wasn't it.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I just preferred Harland at home to west Ham players
- 6:14Speaker 1: going to Afcon and I think sit here in better
- 6:17Speaker 1: form at the moment, or on better run of momentum.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I should say the Arsenal. So yeah, watch Harland blank
- 6:22Speaker 1: this week. But I get the thing, I won't be
- 6:24Speaker 1: the only one activating that chip this week, but we'll
- 6:26Speaker 1: talk about that later. Milli League time, Oliwa tarbi Ajai.
- 6:30Speaker 1: He's back at the top ninety two points and he's
- 6:32Speaker 1: still got his wild God, I wonder when he's going
- 6:34Speaker 1: to play it plus bench boost and three hit So yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 1: he just a reminderus is a really good point to
- 6:39Speaker 1: remind it. Actually, there's three weeks left before we kind
- 6:42Speaker 1: of get to the halfway point, and you're going to
- 6:44Speaker 1: lose your chips, so Lord Tobe, please make sure you
- 6:47Speaker 1: use one this week, otherwise you're only going to be
- 6:48Speaker 1: able to use two of your three remaining. So that's
- 6:50Speaker 1: a reminders of everyone as well. I mean I've got
- 6:53Speaker 1: two chips to use in three game weeks as well,
- 6:54Speaker 1: so I'm kind of in the same boat. Harry Hine
- 6:56Speaker 1: is second. He got sixty seven this point this week,
- 6:59Speaker 1: he's one point off top and still has his triple
- 7:01Speaker 1: captain to play. Armored El Maddie drops to third. That's
- 7:05Speaker 1: despite getting eighty four points this week. He's three points behind.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Henry Dean Freeman is up into fourth. He got one
- 7:10Speaker 1: hundred and six points this week. He has played his
- 7:12Speaker 1: wild card and we'll have five free transfers in place
- 7:15Speaker 1: for this week. And he's still got his free hit
- 7:17Speaker 1: chip to use as well. Or reminded the code is
- 7:18Speaker 1: x y six XPL now at this point, normally Jules
- 7:22Speaker 1: wax lyrical about everything that's happened in the Champions League
- 7:25Speaker 1: or Europe this or Caravell Cup this week, He's not here.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Are you going to do it? So I'm going to try,
- 7:32Speaker 1: all right, let's see.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't promise that it's going to be anywhere
- 7:35Speaker 3: near as good. And I was asked to do this
- 7:36Speaker 3: in a French accent, but my French accent, as he testify,
- 7:39Speaker 3: he isn't very good. So I'm not going to do
- 7:41Speaker 3: that and instant the whole France. So let's start with Brentford.
- 7:44Speaker 3: There was no Tiago for Brentford in the squad on Wednesday.
- 7:46Speaker 3: He was missing alongside Jordan Henderson. Both left at home
- 7:49Speaker 3: at the end of the game. Andrew's talked about how
- 7:50Speaker 3: they didn't quite make this one, but neither of them
- 7:52Speaker 3: are far off, so hopefully we'll see them at the weekend.
- 7:55Speaker 3: It is interesting to note that both players have been
- 7:57Speaker 3: carefully managed this season, and in fact, neither of them
- 7:59Speaker 3: has started a midweek game in the League Cup or
- 8:03Speaker 3: in THEA in the FA Cup as it will be
- 8:05Speaker 3: in the.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Future, I guess.
- 8:06Speaker 3: So it does seem like they're missing out on those
- 8:08Speaker 3: ones and therefore getting a bit more rotation, so hopefully
- 8:10Speaker 3: they'll be all right for Wolves at the weekend on
- 8:13Speaker 3: to Manchester City. After ten minutes or so, Oscar Bob
- 8:17Speaker 3: picks up another injury, which is disappointing for him. He
- 8:20Speaker 3: played just twenty that's now the third man City winger
- 8:23Speaker 3: that they are without, with my mooshof for f Con
- 8:25Speaker 3: and Doco out injured. Pep obviously then brings him fold
- 8:28Speaker 3: and he talked after the game about how he didn't
- 8:30Speaker 3: really want to bring on fold And for that long,
- 8:31Speaker 3: but hadn't really got a lot of choice in the
- 8:33Speaker 3: matter because of the injury to Bob. He did also
- 8:36Speaker 3: bring Polden off again a bit early. Also stated that
- 8:38Speaker 3: he didn't want to play Nico O'Reilly, but again he
- 8:41Speaker 3: didn't have a lot of choice because he doesn't have.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Eight Nory at the moment.
- 8:44Speaker 3: There are a lot of minutes and he talked about
- 8:46Speaker 3: how Saturday's really important against west Ham, so Nico O'Reilly
- 8:49Speaker 3: probably still okay for that one, and of course Erlin
- 8:52Speaker 3: Harnon had a complete rest. It was an our new substitute,
- 8:55Speaker 3: so that bodes well for any triple captain as this
- 8:57Speaker 3: week MORESCA made eleven changes to Chelsea this weekend. Would
- 9:01Speaker 3: have expected Esteval to have started in that one, but
- 9:04Speaker 3: he missed out through a muscle injury, which is also
- 9:05Speaker 3: going to keep him out of the weekend. Geu got
- 9:08Speaker 3: the start, had a shot on target in the thirty
- 9:12Speaker 3: first minute, but that was his only penalty area touch
- 9:14Speaker 3: in the whole game and it was really disappointing for
- 9:16Speaker 3: him in a game where he could have really shone
- 9:18Speaker 3: with Liam de lapout and had an opportunity to get
- 9:20Speaker 3: into that starting eleventh for the weekend, but he definitely
- 9:22Speaker 3: didn't take it gone. Actually, and jel Pedro did come
- 9:25Speaker 3: on God and actually missed three big chances against Everton
- 9:27Speaker 3: at the weekend. Didn't do the same here, scored twice
- 9:29Speaker 3: from his three big chances that he had.
- 9:31Speaker 1: In this one.
- 9:32Speaker 3: We did get some four breathers at Chelsea, Enzo Fernandez,
- 9:35Speaker 3: Reece James and Sanchez all our new substitutes. Co Career
- 9:38Speaker 3: was suspended because he picked up two previous yellow cards
- 9:42Speaker 3: in the competition, and Cole Palmer missed out entirely because
- 9:44Speaker 3: his minutes are being managed after three match Bam.
- 9:47Speaker 1: We saw Caise Doo back. He played all ninety minutes.
- 9:50Speaker 3: He did get booked again in this one, so we
- 9:51Speaker 3: al missed the semi final first leg, which happens between
- 9:54Speaker 3: game weeks twenty one and twenty two. It is quite
- 9:57Speaker 3: a significant one though, having him back because Reeese Shames
- 9:59Speaker 3: has been pay in midfield recently, so now it's going
- 10:01Speaker 3: to be a straight choice between playing Reise James and Gusto,
- 10:05Speaker 3: who obviously we saw it the weekend is in great
- 10:07Speaker 3: form Newcastle. Wister got the start, scored ten minutes in
- 10:10Speaker 3: Voltemado was rested. It came on on seventy two to
- 10:13Speaker 3: replace Fissa Libremento went off injured. How we're saying after
- 10:16Speaker 3: the game that doesn't look good. In fact, he came
- 10:18Speaker 3: off as a worrying sign and that they're really stretching.
- 10:20Speaker 3: It was going to be a big blow, so that
- 10:21Speaker 3: was a problem. Wilson and him and Az both played
- 10:23Speaker 3: the full ninety for Fulham. Smith Row started but was
- 10:26Speaker 3: replaced on seventy five.
- 10:27Speaker 1: By Josh King.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Just as an interesting point to note, Chelsea, Newcastle, Man
- 10:31Speaker 3: City and then either Arsenal Palace will now play in
- 10:33Speaker 3: the semi finals of this competition. The first legs are
- 10:35Speaker 3: between twenty and twenty sorry, twenty one and twenty two,
- 10:38Speaker 3: and the second legs between twenty four and twenty five,
- 10:41Speaker 3: so a little bit more potential rotation from those guys
- 10:44Speaker 3: at that point.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Oh, it won't be very good. It won't be very long.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I didn't have lines time, but that was brilliant.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Yeah, Jewels is out of a job.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Yes, I mean that, don't tell it. I was gonna
- 10:54Speaker 1: say it's getting close not turning up. Now we found
- 10:56Speaker 1: someone that can. All you need to do is inject
- 10:58Speaker 1: some awful singing and we'll be there. Let's move on
- 11:00Speaker 1: anyway now and discuss the midfield because it feels like
- 11:04Speaker 1: there's been like in terms of it been a roller
- 11:05Speaker 1: coaster season in consistency, it's also felt like that was positions,
- 11:09Speaker 1: Like we were all really excited about the defenders because
- 11:11Speaker 1: the defensive contribution, and now in the recent weeks it's
- 11:13Speaker 1: kind of shifted to now on the roller coaster by
- 11:16Speaker 1: the way, Sorry if you get and my daughter she
- 11:17Speaker 1: is shouting very loud. She doing her best June in
- 11:20Speaker 1: Laarron impression. I think this past is chaos. I can't remember.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I was saying, basically, we all want midfielders, don't we,
- 11:27Speaker 1: and is a case of are we putting all our
- 11:31Speaker 1: money into midfield? That's what it feels like so many
- 11:33Speaker 1: of us are doing with our five transfers lead. There
- 11:34Speaker 1: were so many midfielders we want to mentioned Bruno and Foden.
- 11:37Speaker 1: That's where the points feel like they're coming, and that's
- 11:39Speaker 1: where we need to put our money.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so, Kelly, Yeah, I think there's there's
- 11:42Speaker 2: definitely a move towards that kind of power three, if
- 11:45Speaker 2: I can call it that, in midfield, the kind of
- 11:47Speaker 2: fod and Sokka and Bruno, Fernandez kind of triumvira if
- 11:51Speaker 2: you like Foding in particular. Right, and Sam was right,
- 11:54Speaker 2: he Pep sort of through necessity had to bring him
- 11:57Speaker 2: on in the Caravell Cup in midweek. He kind of
- 11:59Speaker 2: came on as Sarban went offers a sub which we
- 12:01Speaker 2: very rarely see. But that shows you how much Pep
- 12:04Speaker 2: is trying to just look after him and manage his minutes,
- 12:06Speaker 2: which again for us in FPL, I think is a
- 12:08Speaker 2: great sign that Foden is a key part of that
- 12:10Speaker 2: Manchester City midfield and that Pep is wrapping him.
- 12:13Speaker 1: In cotton Wall like that.
- 12:14Speaker 2: In the past we kind of go, well, who do
- 12:16Speaker 2: we go for in the man City midfield? We've got
- 12:18Speaker 2: the Pep Roulette. We're not sure about minutes here and
- 12:20Speaker 2: minutes there. I don't think Foden's going anywhere soon in
- 12:23Speaker 2: the Premier League. I think he's going to play as
- 12:25Speaker 2: many minutes as possible, particularly a city have got some
- 12:27Speaker 2: ground to make up at the top, haven't they. Six
- 12:29Speaker 2: goals across his last four games for Foden Actually noticed
- 12:32Speaker 2: in the last two rounds of FPL he's been transferred
- 12:35Speaker 2: in by three point three million FPL managers. His price
- 12:38Speaker 2: has gone from I don't know what he is right now.
- 12:40Speaker 2: He's like eight point eight I think, And I'm.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Surely I got him after I got him, after I'd
- 12:44Speaker 1: missed a couple of price rises, and I've still made
- 12:46Speaker 1: point five on.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Him totally, and I still don't think it's too late
- 12:51Speaker 2: to get him. The city fixtures still look pretty good
- 12:53Speaker 2: going forward. So he's just definitely going to be a
- 12:56Speaker 2: cornerstone for us in midfield, and then Bruno doing Bruno
- 12:58Speaker 2: things week on week out. The high scoring midfielder could
- 13:01Speaker 2: have had more points this season because you've missed a
- 13:03Speaker 2: couple of penalties and just missed out on death gone
- 13:05Speaker 2: a couple of times. And then so Saka is the one.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I'm interested to hear what you guys think of Socca
- 13:10Speaker 2: because he's been okay, eleven pointers of this week, but
- 13:13Speaker 2: ticking over every week? Is that? Is that enough?
- 13:15Speaker 1: While I don't know if you agree with me on this, Sam,
- 13:19Speaker 1: a few weeks before, I was thinking, oh, I need
- 13:20Speaker 1: some funds because my team value wasn't great. It's got
- 13:22Speaker 1: a bit better now, but I was looking at it going, oh,
- 13:25Speaker 1: maybe go Saker to Rice. There's there's another option there.
- 13:28Speaker 1: But that was when Rice had that kind of mini
- 13:30Speaker 1: purple patch and I was what I realized, I was
- 13:32Speaker 1: actually desperate to find someone else in the Arsenal attack.
- 13:35Speaker 1: And for me, it's just really hard to find someone
- 13:36Speaker 1: else in the Arsenal attack, and you can't with the
- 13:38Speaker 1: injuries in defense at the moment, you can't. You're at
- 13:41Speaker 1: risk of just having one or two defenders and then
- 13:43Speaker 1: not having an Arsenal attack. If you don't have Sacer,
- 13:45Speaker 1: I just.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Don't know where else to go, Sam No, I agree,
- 13:47Speaker 3: And I was looking at Sakka's involvement in the chances
- 13:51Speaker 3: that Arsenal were creating, and so over the last four matches.
- 13:53Speaker 3: In game week thirteen, he was involved in sixty two
- 13:55Speaker 3: percent of the chances that they created. In fourteen, it
- 13:57Speaker 3: was down at twenty nine, but that's still Yeah, I'm
- 14:00Speaker 3: just still a third of the chances. Game week fifteen
- 14:02Speaker 3: it was fifty seven percent of the chances, and then
- 14:04Speaker 3: game week sixteen it was twenty five. So he is
- 14:07Speaker 3: involved in at least a quarter of the chances that
- 14:10Speaker 3: they are creating in every single match, and actually over
- 14:12Speaker 3: the course of that chunk it's significantly more than that.
- 14:14Speaker 3: It's more like fifty percent. So he definitely feels like
- 14:18Speaker 3: the best option in that Arsenal midfield or even the
- 14:22Speaker 3: Arsenal attack generally, because we saw it the weekend, right,
- 14:25Speaker 3: we've got gaby Ja Zeus coming back from injury as well,
- 14:27Speaker 3: So what does that mean for your cares? Like there's
- 14:29Speaker 3: so many potential rotation risks, and yes, Madawaka is coming back,
- 14:33Speaker 3: and yes, maybe that gives some rotation for soccer, but
- 14:36Speaker 3: I think in reality all that means is that maybe Soccer,
- 14:39Speaker 3: in the games where they are really ahead, that we
- 14:41Speaker 3: might see him with drawn a little bit early. And
- 14:43Speaker 3: I think for you and Ikels, that was the reason
- 14:45Speaker 3: why we didn't end up triple captain in him, because
- 14:47Speaker 3: I was really worried that we might see Soccer come
- 14:49Speaker 3: off at sixty to kind of protect him a little bit.
- 14:51Speaker 3: At Madawaki get the last half an hour of that game,
- 14:53Speaker 3: and I just kind of thought, well, I'd rather have
- 14:56Speaker 3: ninety minutes. I'd rather have a ninety minute man. And
- 14:59Speaker 3: I do think that there are kind of be times
- 15:00Speaker 3: where Socca comes off a little bit early, but he
- 15:02Speaker 3: is so involved in everything good that Arsenal are doing
- 15:05Speaker 3: in attack that for me, he just feels like a
- 15:07Speaker 3: necessity because, as you say, at the minute, the double
- 15:11Speaker 3: Arsenal defense is great, yes, normally, but we don't have
- 15:14Speaker 3: Gabrielle at the moment, although it does seem like he's
- 15:16Speaker 3: getting closer and that has weakened them defensively.
- 15:19Speaker 1: So I just think soccer is too important.
- 15:22Speaker 3: It's why I used five transfers last week to have Socca,
- 15:25Speaker 3: Bruno and Foden, although immediately then thought well do I
- 15:29Speaker 3: have to have all four? Like do I now have
- 15:30Speaker 3: to get Palmer as well? And if I do, where's
- 15:32Speaker 3: the money coming from? And like you said at the beginning,
- 15:34Speaker 3: I think the only way to do that is going
- 15:36Speaker 3: to be to take money out of the defense, because
- 15:38Speaker 3: most of us have already stripped quite a lot out
- 15:39Speaker 3: of the forward line.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Anyway. Yeah, well that's my next thing at the moment
- 15:43Speaker 1: is I've still got Valtamada And I mean you mentioned
- 15:45Speaker 1: it in your round up whistles back Whista's scored now
- 15:48Speaker 1: as well. So I kind of knew Waltamada was going
- 15:51Speaker 1: to become a problem at some point, but I just
- 15:53Speaker 1: wanted to get out of in what I could. But
- 15:55Speaker 1: I'm looking at going down because we're going to need
- 15:57Speaker 1: to fund what I did. I've got a bench boost,
- 15:59Speaker 1: so I kind of don't want to do that, yeah immediately.
- 16:03Speaker 1: But the other problem we're going to have is Cole Palmer.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Like he didn't play in midweek, but he's going to
- 16:08Speaker 1: make a big difference at Chelsea. Team Lear were going
- 16:10Speaker 1: to get ourselves in a situation do you think where
- 16:12Speaker 1: we're going to be looking at the four in midfield
- 16:14Speaker 1: or are we just going to have to make decisions
- 16:15Speaker 1: because of course we've got all that money in Earling
- 16:17Speaker 1: Harland too.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it's going to be so difficult to get Palmer
- 16:21Speaker 2: back in our teams, isn't it. But when we were
- 16:23Speaker 2: talking there about Socca kind of ticking over, and I
- 16:25Speaker 2: hear what you're saying, Sam about him being so creative
- 16:28Speaker 2: and so much the harbor of everything that Arsenal were
- 16:30Speaker 2: doing in terms of, you know, in the final third.
- 16:33Speaker 2: But you know it's only going to take a couple
- 16:35Speaker 2: of you know, a brace from Cole Palmer for us
- 16:37Speaker 2: to go, well, I can move from a ticking over
- 16:39Speaker 2: Sakka to go into a Cole Palmer ten point three million,
- 16:42Speaker 2: isn't he?
- 16:43Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I think that was I checked that a couple of
- 16:44Speaker 2: days ago. I might even have gone up because he's
- 16:46Speaker 2: going to be popular. I think he's still being managed
- 16:49Speaker 2: and I think if there's one thing that MORESCA has
- 16:51Speaker 2: shown this season is that particular players aut reece James,
- 16:54Speaker 2: he's willing to ease them back in use his squad.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I think he's still conscious that he had the Club
- 16:59Speaker 2: World Cup in the summer. Let's not have too many injuries,
- 17:02Speaker 2: so I think we'll still see Cole Palmer kind of
- 17:04Speaker 2: ease back in. But listen at Newcastle aware. I don't
- 17:07Speaker 2: think it's a great entry point for him this week
- 17:09Speaker 2: in game week seventeen, but after that Villa at home,
- 17:12Speaker 2: Bournemouth at home, could that be a better entry point? No,
- 17:15Speaker 2: Villa in good form right City away in twenty I
- 17:18Speaker 2: personally don't see me going to Cole Palmer over the
- 17:20Speaker 2: next four but in twenty one the fixtures for Chelsea
- 17:23Speaker 2: do then start to get pretty good, starting with Fulham away.
- 17:26Speaker 2: So yeah, I don't think it's a priority by Kelly,
- 17:29Speaker 2: but he's for sure back on radar because he's cold
- 17:31Speaker 2: Palmer and we know what we can do.
- 17:32Speaker 3: We've only had ninety minutes out of Palmer once this season,
- 17:35Speaker 3: got in game week one then man, yeah, game week
- 17:38Speaker 3: four he had forty minutes game week five, twenty then
- 17:41Speaker 3: since it's been coming back, it's been thirty four, fifty
- 17:44Speaker 3: seven fifty seven, so two.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Pre sixty minutes.
- 17:46Speaker 3: So we're not even hitting that sixty minute mark that
- 17:48Speaker 3: we all look for as FPL managers, right because that's
- 17:51Speaker 3: where you get your clean sheet locked in and over
- 17:53Speaker 3: the last two weeks he'd have had two more points
- 17:55Speaker 3: for clean sheets because they've kept them, but he's not
- 17:57Speaker 3: got them because he's gone off before sixty. And I
- 18:00Speaker 3: think if you're talking about a plus ten million player,
- 18:03Speaker 3: you need to see consistency of starts and minutes with people. Actually,
- 18:08Speaker 3: you know, him coming on and staying on for more
- 18:10Speaker 3: than sixty because there are other people in that Chelsea
- 18:12Speaker 3: team that you could go to. You know, there's netto
- 18:15Speaker 3: that you could have instead if you wanted, or I
- 18:17Speaker 3: know that you know, some people are moving away from him,
- 18:21Speaker 3: but nonetheless he's still looking like a decent option. And
- 18:24Speaker 3: I don't think I would get rid of any of
- 18:25Speaker 3: the other three premium midfielders in order to have him
- 18:28Speaker 3: right now.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Okay and right on Q. I don't know if he
- 18:31Speaker 1: can hear us, but Jewels he can. He's smiling. Jews
- 18:34Speaker 1: had lived this week.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you so much for stepping in. What happened
- 18:42Speaker 4: the train We had a problem on the Eurostar from
- 18:45Speaker 4: Paris back to London this morning.
- 18:49Speaker 1: But what we've realized, myself and Sam have realized, you
- 18:51Speaker 1: don't leave any contingency. Do you like it? Get fifteen minutes?
- 18:56Speaker 1: You don't leave like a ten minute window in case
- 18:58Speaker 1: it's going to happen.
- 19:00Speaker 4: But for once, for once, because you know, usually I
- 19:02Speaker 4: give you a time where I know I can't make
- 19:04Speaker 4: that time.
- 19:05Speaker 1: You know, me, this time admitted it. It's like how
- 19:08Speaker 1: many seasons we admitted it?
- 19:10Speaker 4: Like my dad, everybody in my family does that, right,
- 19:12Speaker 4: But this time I was. I was realistic on the time.
- 19:14Speaker 1: So okay, well you're going to stick and still like anyway,
- 19:19Speaker 1: just to point out that we were recording, the time
- 19:21Speaker 1: that we'd set was an hour and fifteen minutes later
- 19:23Speaker 1: than usual, and so yeah, so anyway, I'm glad you
- 19:26Speaker 1: could make it. And now there's four of us, which
- 19:28Speaker 1: is even best than more the marriage. I was were
- 19:29Speaker 1: just talking about Midfields actually and the fact that at
- 19:32Speaker 1: the moment everyone wants Bruno, everyone wants Foden. You're not
- 19:36Speaker 1: a Sakarna actually, so it's quite an interesting point forew
- 19:39Speaker 1: to come into conversation. These guys were just debating because
- 19:41Speaker 1: with Cole Palmer coming back into the fray as well,
- 19:44Speaker 1: is soccer the least desirable? How have you felt about
- 19:46Speaker 1: not having him?
- 19:47Speaker 4: I feel that's that, guys, maybe the least in form
- 19:52Speaker 4: of those options. And I have to say I received
- 19:55Speaker 4: many messages people sliding in my dms us right, even men.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Who foxes letters.
- 20:03Speaker 4: I got letters pigeons to com pigeons to complain about
- 20:08Speaker 4: that Soca assists on the first goal against Wolves, because really,
- 20:11Speaker 4: let's be honest, Yeah, has never been given about you
- 20:14Speaker 4: should have never been Maybe I'm just the voice of
- 20:18Speaker 4: the people. This is this is all I received.
- 20:21Speaker 1: The captains were very happy about. Yeah, it was a
- 20:24Speaker 1: real roll, wasn't he got the point?
- 20:27Speaker 4: Yeah, clearly that that tells you everything about it. But
- 20:29Speaker 4: but yeah, I think because also are still a little
- 20:32Speaker 4: bit I think finding their feet attacking wise with your
- 20:36Speaker 4: cares or whoever plays number nine, even to be fair,
- 20:39Speaker 4: who plays as a ten, whether he's or whether he's
- 20:41Speaker 4: or the guard or the guard coming back, and there's
- 20:42Speaker 4: a bit of rotation, and and that's why I think
- 20:46Speaker 4: maybe Soaka for the price that is, considering comparing with
- 20:49Speaker 4: the with Bruno Fernandez for example, and you see the
- 20:52Speaker 4: form of Bruno. Even if the United fictions coming up
- 20:55Speaker 4: with Villain and Newcastle are not too easy before Wolves,
- 20:58Speaker 4: I would still go for Bruno more than Saka right now.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so you're you're staying without soccer and you've I mean,
- 21:04Speaker 1: you're still outscored us despite not having him this week.
- 21:06Speaker 1: So I think, guy, oh, remind me only only by point.
- 21:10Speaker 1: You only beat me by a point. So yeah, I
- 21:12Speaker 1: feel like jeles Cole Palmer has got a you move
- 21:14Speaker 1: written all over it. You'll go for him early, won't you.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Yeah, but not now. It's a bit too early now
- 21:19Speaker 4: because he's going to play. I think I record the
- 21:21Speaker 4: end of what Sam was saying, and I suspect that
- 21:23Speaker 4: was on Palmer. He's not going to play nineteen minutes
- 21:25Speaker 4: for the next maybe two league games, especially now with
- 21:28Speaker 4: the congested fixtures. Let's wait until he's fully fit to
- 21:31Speaker 4: play the whole nineteen minutes back to back games, and
- 21:33Speaker 4: then I think he'd be back in the conversation.
- 21:35Speaker 1: It's fooding going to be able to keep this up, Sam.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I want him to out of all of them, because
- 21:42Speaker 1: he's the cheapest, well, let's hope so, because he's easy
- 21:45Speaker 1: to own and he's performing really well at the minute,
- 21:48Speaker 1: and it gives us an easy route into city that's
- 21:50Speaker 1: not early in Harlem because at the minute Otherwise you
- 21:52Speaker 1: have Harlan and you're kind of go, well, I'm just
- 21:55Speaker 1: picking up the same points.
- 21:57Speaker 3: That's seventy percent of the game of picking up because
- 21:59Speaker 3: I'm I'm always going to have him and I'm pretty
- 22:01Speaker 3: much going to captain him every week, so he's kind
- 22:03Speaker 3: of a bit of a non event, which is a
- 22:05Speaker 3: horrible thing to say about the piet scoring player in
- 22:07Speaker 3: the game. But because everyone's got him, it doesn't make
- 22:09Speaker 3: a difference. Whereas Foden the last few weeks, and I,
- 22:13Speaker 3: like UKs, I got on him a bit too late,
- 22:14Speaker 3: like I should have gone a couple of weeks before
- 22:16Speaker 3: I did, but I wanted to make sure that he
- 22:18Speaker 3: was actually informing it wasn't just a one off before
- 22:21Speaker 3: I went there. So I'm pleased to have gained all
- 22:23Speaker 3: the price risers out of him. But can he sustain it?
- 22:29Speaker 3: I think probably, But we do know that he is
- 22:31Speaker 3: a purple patch player, so as soon as it stops,
- 22:33Speaker 3: you do have to get off. And it would be
- 22:35Speaker 3: really handy for us in FPL as if it kind
- 22:37Speaker 3: of timed itself with Parma's revival, if they kind of
- 22:41Speaker 3: swapped over at the same time, because it is going
- 22:43Speaker 3: to be a challenge. I think when you look at
- 22:44Speaker 3: that midfield and you've got Bruno and Sacca and Palma
- 22:48Speaker 3: and Fodin, like owning all four alongside Harlan and at
- 22:51Speaker 3: the same time when you'd expect to see Gabrielle coming back,
- 22:55Speaker 3: and then if you want to have Gabrielle alongside a
- 22:57Speaker 3: Raya or a Timber, that's going to be almost impossible
- 22:59Speaker 3: to create that team. So somebody has got to be
- 23:01Speaker 3: the sacrifice. Now, I don't I don't think I would
- 23:06Speaker 3: want to watch Arsenal without having Sokka the way that
- 23:08Speaker 3: they are, and you know, we went through the numbers
- 23:10Speaker 3: of his involvements earlier, like I think he he for
- 23:13Speaker 3: me feels important and I want to cover out that
- 23:15Speaker 3: Arsenal attack. I've already kind of covered the City attack.
- 23:17Speaker 3: So Foden that's the team I'm doubled up on. He
- 23:20Speaker 3: feels like the one that would probably be the one
- 23:22Speaker 3: I would want to sell. But I just don't see
- 23:24Speaker 3: it ending at any point. He's so important they're playing
- 23:27Speaker 3: around him, and with the injuries and Afcon and everything
- 23:30Speaker 3: else that's going on for man City at the moment,
- 23:33Speaker 3: I think he'll be a long term hold.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Do you think that do you think the temptation is
- 23:36Speaker 2: to switch to others though, to save a bit money,
- 23:39Speaker 2: Like if Palmer comes back on the radar, you can
- 23:40Speaker 2: see a lot of FPR managers saying, well, I could
- 23:43Speaker 2: save over two million by going from Foden to say,
- 23:45Speaker 2: for example, Cherkey, now Churkey. I watched him last night
- 23:48Speaker 2: at Jawles. I don't know if this guy's Paris born
- 23:50Speaker 2: and bred, but he's eating unbelievable. Like you know, when
- 23:53Speaker 2: you watch these footballs, you just think you are just
- 23:55Speaker 2: a joy to watch. I mean, he's got seven assists
- 23:57Speaker 2: so far in his last seven game weeks, which is
- 24:00Speaker 2: joint top in the league with Minter, and he's creating
- 24:02Speaker 2: a chance every twenty nine minutes in the league. Then
- 24:04Speaker 2: he goes and scores the goal that you know made
- 24:06Speaker 2: us all stand up and applaud last night in the
- 24:08Speaker 2: caravell cut. I can see a lot of FPM managers saying, well,
- 24:12Speaker 2: if I want Harland and Palmer and I don't want
- 24:14Speaker 2: to sell Sokka Foden to Cherkey. I'm not saying that's
- 24:17Speaker 2: a move that I would personally do right now, but
- 24:19Speaker 2: I could see it being on a few FPM managers
- 24:21Speaker 2: radars if they need to save some.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Money, choose do you think?
- 24:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree, he's not unfortunately par Won and Breadley.
- 24:27Speaker 4: He's from Lyon, But that's okay. That's why I exactly
- 24:30Speaker 4: we still love him, although he's my differential this week.
- 24:32Speaker 4: I mean, I know i'd give it away before we
- 24:34Speaker 4: get there, but because I think you're right, it's a
- 24:36Speaker 4: great point to make just if you need a bit
- 24:38Speaker 4: of money. I think the thing with Foe then, and
- 24:41Speaker 4: I mean the return for the last four game weeks
- 24:43Speaker 4: is unbelievable for food and I'm not sure you can
- 24:46Speaker 4: keep that up anyway. Because against Paalacy was not very good.
- 24:49Speaker 4: I know he's called a Gordon, he says good taking
- 24:51Speaker 4: gold and Chirky got the assist, which she's not really
- 24:53Speaker 4: an assist, let's be honest. But they struggled, especially for
- 24:56Speaker 4: the first hour or so. So I don't know about
- 24:59Speaker 4: Foden in terms of this incredible street that he's on
- 25:02Speaker 4: right now, but I think Shirkey would get more and
- 25:05Speaker 4: more important in this city team. They're going to build
- 25:07Speaker 4: around him more and more. His relationship with Harland, his
- 25:09Speaker 4: relationship with all the other players, because he's just been
- 25:12Speaker 4: that good so far this season.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you mentioned Churkey being a little bit cheaper, then
- 25:16Speaker 1: I wonder if actually we do need some cheaper midfielders
- 25:19Speaker 1: as well, don't we need to balance out, particularly with
- 25:21Speaker 1: some of the players that have gone off to Afcon,
- 25:23Speaker 1: the likes of I know, and Bermo's a little bit
- 25:25Speaker 1: more expensive, isn't He's kind of in the fod and
- 25:26Speaker 1: price bracket. But Dan go and Die are two of
- 25:29Speaker 1: the other popular midfielders as well, And we've seen a
- 25:32Speaker 1: lot of excitement and I get why because people on
- 25:35Speaker 1: this podcast owning for Harry Wilson. So there are some
- 25:38Speaker 1: cheaper options out there, aren't they, And Sam all of
- 25:40Speaker 1: a sudden, we need players like that to be registering
- 25:42Speaker 1: hauls like that. Absolutely. Yeah.
- 25:45Speaker 3: And it's one of those isn't it, where if you're
- 25:46Speaker 3: going to have the power three is we're now currently
- 25:49Speaker 3: referring to them in FBL with Bruno and Saka and Foden,
- 25:53Speaker 3: And you want to maybe put yourself in a position
- 25:55Speaker 3: where you have got some money in order to be
- 25:57Speaker 3: able to get to Cole Palmer, then you need the
- 26:00Speaker 3: players to be playing really well, and over the last
- 26:03Speaker 3: four game weeks I had a look at the total
- 26:06Speaker 3: points that the midfielders have got to try and work
- 26:08Speaker 3: out whether the premiums were the right investment. So obviously,
- 26:13Speaker 3: in terms of the midfielders, Phone in his top for
- 26:15Speaker 3: points scored over the last four with fifty five, but
- 26:18Speaker 3: behind him it's closely. It's Bruno Fernandez with forty six,
- 26:21Speaker 3: and then after that it's Harry Wilson with forty six.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Now obviously a lot of them came last week with
- 26:25Speaker 3: his sixteen pointer. Then it's Jewsby Hall, who I think
- 26:28Speaker 3: a lot of people were considering going to in a
- 26:30Speaker 3: couple of weeks time. I know Lee was saying that
- 26:31Speaker 3: was his plan, was to go from Wilson to Gewsby
- 26:34Speaker 3: Hall in a couple of weeks time when the fixtures
- 26:36Speaker 3: swung for Fulham and for Everton. Obviously we'll have to
- 26:39Speaker 3: see how Gewsby Hall is following that injury, and then
- 26:41Speaker 3: after that it's Rogers before we get to soccer, then
- 26:44Speaker 3: it's Sanghara and then it goes down. But the ones
- 26:46Speaker 3: that follow from Sanghara down they're all priced at most
- 26:51Speaker 3: at seven million, and that's Bruno Gimaraz and you've got
- 26:54Speaker 3: to get down to what is he won two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
- 26:58Speaker 3: eleven twelve. He's twelve for scoring midfielders. So when you're
- 27:02Speaker 3: looking at cheap options, they definitely are available, like they're
- 27:05Speaker 3: definitely there. And I think we will have to balance
- 27:08Speaker 3: the desire for all of these premiums and squeezing them
- 27:11Speaker 3: in with having cheaper options, because the one thing that's
- 27:15Speaker 3: really important is that you don't skew your team too much.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Like it's very easy to go, well, I'll have Harlan,
- 27:20Speaker 3: I'll have those four premiums, I'll strip all the money
- 27:22Speaker 3: out of the defense and I'll just go for four
- 27:25Speaker 3: four to five million defenders and I'll get like the
- 27:27Speaker 3: Brogannga or with the Bravkris the backup. But that leaves
- 27:31Speaker 3: you with quite an unbalanced squad, Whereas if you can
- 27:33Speaker 3: get in players like Harry Wilson, have him for this light,
- 27:37Speaker 3: little mini purple patch of great fixtures that he's having,
- 27:40Speaker 3: then shift him on to another cheaper player that's also
- 27:42Speaker 3: going to about to go into this nice run of fixtures.
- 27:46Speaker 3: You can manipulate your squad to your advantage and hopefully
- 27:49Speaker 3: then get the best out of the premiums. Whilst also
- 27:51Speaker 3: getting your best out of your mid priced and cheaper
- 27:53Speaker 3: options in midfield.
- 27:55Speaker 1: So Lee, who are your cheaper options alongside the Power three?
- 27:59Speaker 2: Well, I've got I've got the two Fulham boys. So
- 28:01Speaker 2: I've got Harry Wilson that I bought in this week,
- 28:03Speaker 2: which was very happy with and I listen when I
- 28:06Speaker 2: brought him in. You know, you look at the art
- 28:08Speaker 2: of fpl is trying to find the getting in someone
- 28:11Speaker 2: on the apex of form and fixtures right, and he
- 28:12Speaker 2: had I think the scores before this week were ten,
- 28:15Speaker 2: eight and eight, so good scores was kind of ticking
- 28:18Speaker 2: over and then with these three fixtures coming up, I
- 28:20Speaker 2: just thought such a good opportunity to go in on
- 28:22Speaker 2: someone that was, you know, two or three percent owned
- 28:24Speaker 2: at the time. I suspect he's more now. But then
- 28:26Speaker 2: my other one is Josh King. He's my fifth midfielder.
- 28:28Speaker 2: So I'm very much loaded up on the Fulham midfield.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Wilson's going to stay. King is kind of sitting there
- 28:34Speaker 2: as a bit of a not a wasted spot and
- 28:37Speaker 2: he could get some minutes over the next couple of
- 28:38Speaker 2: game weeks when the Fulham fixtures continue to be good.
- 28:41Speaker 2: But listen, he's kind of bench fodder for me a
- 28:43Speaker 2: little bit, but I do have four three transfers. I
- 28:45Speaker 2: do have a bit of money in the bank, so
- 28:47Speaker 2: maybe going with a couple of CHP's in midfield, Wilson
- 28:50Speaker 2: and then one other Jewsby Hall was definitely on my
- 28:52Speaker 2: radar before the injury, alongside the Power three. I think
- 28:56Speaker 2: that's a reasonable strategy.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes a lot of sense. Jeels. At the
- 28:59Speaker 1: moment your midfield, I'm trying to get your team up
- 29:01Speaker 1: because I clicked off it. I've been trying to find
- 29:03Speaker 1: Lee's team for ages what we're doing this part now,
- 29:05Speaker 1: I'm trying to get jos Stein backup. So Jee, your
- 29:08Speaker 1: mid is you've got Bruno and Wilson. You don't have soccer,
- 29:12Speaker 1: but you've had Rice. Haven't you happy with this a minute?
- 29:16Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 29:16Speaker 4: I think for and Bruno, Wilson and even Bruno Gish. Okay,
- 29:20Speaker 4: it was it was enough day at the weekend in
- 29:21Speaker 4: the derby for Newcastle, but I think I think they can.
- 29:25Speaker 4: I think they will have to bounce back from that.
- 29:26Speaker 4: We saw that a little bit already in the car
- 29:28Speaker 4: Bop in midweek, but and after that, I expect them
- 29:31Speaker 4: even if it's Chelsea and United coming up before Burnley,
- 29:33Speaker 4: those two two tough games, I think they would have
- 29:36Speaker 4: to respond to how bad it was, and even even
- 29:38Speaker 4: Bruno Gi Marish's criticism over the whole team, I think
- 29:40Speaker 4: they have a point to prove coming up. So I
- 29:43Speaker 4: don't mind Bruno Gui Maresh right now, but I think Wilson, Bruno,
- 29:46Speaker 4: Fernandez and and Foden are I'm very happy with. And
- 29:50Speaker 4: then I can just play three in midfield and in
- 29:53Speaker 4: the fourth with three, for example, I can add Rice
- 29:55Speaker 4: even for the event and away game because I think
- 29:57Speaker 4: that could be a discent fixture for Arsenal or or
- 30:00Speaker 4: at some point I try to upgrade Rise to Sukka
- 30:03Speaker 4: and finding some money somewheres.
- 30:05Speaker 1: What other midfield names should we be looking at?
- 30:07Speaker 4: Sam Rogers surely know.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Yeah, Rogers is on there for sure. He looks like
- 30:14Speaker 1: a really good option.
- 30:15Speaker 3: And even when it's not him that's been impressing, he's
- 30:18Speaker 3: still getting points, so you know, I think he's definitely
- 30:21Speaker 3: up there. In the conversation, I still like the Bruno
- 30:24Speaker 3: Gimares pick, despite the fact that I think they might struggle,
- 30:28Speaker 3: particularly if they've lost different Libermento as well. I think
- 30:30Speaker 3: that might be problematic, but he is really important and
- 30:33Speaker 3: there wasn't a great result of the weekend. I've still
- 30:35Speaker 3: got Kudas in my team. I'm definitely holding in form
- 30:38Speaker 3: when we beat Liverpool on the weekend, but otherwise I don't.
- 30:43Speaker 3: I'm not loving that, and I think that's the interesting
- 30:46Speaker 3: spot for me in the midfielder is that you've got
- 30:47Speaker 3: these kind of six point five millions and if you
- 30:49Speaker 3: roll us back to pre season in game week one,
- 30:52Speaker 3: we were all talking about the six point fives, how
- 30:54Speaker 3: we needed to have them, how many of them.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Should we have. Now I'm looking at him thinking.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Okay, well, realistically I kept him for this week rather
- 31:04Speaker 3: than transferring him out because I felt like with the
- 31:07Speaker 3: penalty stuff in the Champions League, maybe it was worth
- 31:09Speaker 3: just giving him one more week. It was a relatively night,
- 31:11Speaker 3: it should have been a relatively nice fixture against Forrest.
- 31:14Speaker 3: But he'll get one more week because I want to
- 31:16Speaker 3: do the plan transfer that I was talking about earlier,
- 31:18Speaker 3: and then I'll look to move him on. But whether
- 31:21Speaker 3: I look to go up from him, as in free
- 31:23Speaker 3: up money elsewhere so that I can raise him up
- 31:25Speaker 3: to another more premium masset, or whether I look to
- 31:27Speaker 3: drop him down, possibly even Harry Wilson, But to be honest,
- 31:32Speaker 3: by the time I looked to drop him down Harry
- 31:33Speaker 3: Wilson' only have that one nice fixture jews By Hall
- 31:36Speaker 3: was where I was kind of had thought by the
- 31:38Speaker 3: time I want to drop down Kudas, maybe it's jews
- 31:41Speaker 3: Beyhol because the Ebotham fixture swing. So I think we've
- 31:43Speaker 3: mentioned the kind of key ones I don't. I think
- 31:46Speaker 3: you know you can take a punt on Churkey if
- 31:47Speaker 3: you want to. But I think he's still going Phodin
- 31:53Speaker 3: just one.
- 31:53Speaker 2: That's going a little bit under the radar for me.
- 31:55Speaker 2: I mentioned it on the Off the Bench of podcast
- 31:56Speaker 2: with as On earlier this week. Is he's got six
- 31:59Speaker 2: returns and last eight game weeks either a goal or
- 32:01Speaker 2: assist or a defensive contribution. No one's going to be
- 32:04Speaker 2: looking at him this week because West Ham have got
- 32:06Speaker 2: a very difficult fixture against Manchester City. But from game
- 32:08Speaker 2: week eighteen onwards the fixtures look great for west Ham.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Mattias Fernandez, he's five point five million, he's owned by
- 32:13Speaker 2: get this zero point one percent, Like almost no one's
- 32:16Speaker 2: got him. And I've noticed when I've been watching West Ham,
- 32:18Speaker 2: both Pots and Magassa sit in that midfield. It gives
- 32:21Speaker 2: them a tires Fernandez the freedom to get forward, like
- 32:23Speaker 2: I say, ticking over. I mean, there's no been, no
- 32:26Speaker 2: kind of explosive double digit halls, and no one's kind
- 32:28Speaker 2: of really mentioning him. But a five point five million
- 32:30Speaker 2: if you're looking for somebody cheaper in that midfield, Sam
- 32:33Speaker 2: and I will be once Wilson's fixtures potentially when Wilson's
- 32:36Speaker 2: fixtures kind of get a bit tougher, got an eye
- 32:38Speaker 2: on him, got an eye on him, you know, zero
- 32:39Speaker 2: point one percent. I mean there's a proper differential in
- 32:41Speaker 2: there somewhere.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Okay, talking of differentials, let's do Differential of the week.
- 32:46Speaker 1: We're not going to let Lee do one. Not let
- 32:48Speaker 1: Lee do one. Make him do one for such a
- 32:50Speaker 1: late edition as a Sam and Jules Jews. Actually not
- 32:54Speaker 1: a chance. Jeles is going first because Sam picked wils
- 32:56Speaker 1: I want to No, no, no, no, You're like.
- 33:03Speaker 4: I'm going to get I'm going to get more messages.
- 33:07Speaker 3: You get all the lessons you want, But I'm going
- 33:08Speaker 3: for Nikka Riley this week. He's owned by nine point
- 33:11Speaker 3: nine percent. Somebody meet him, Somebody mute him. This is
- 33:16Speaker 3: probably the last week we can have him as a
- 33:17Speaker 3: differential because you know the ownership is going to go up,
- 33:20Speaker 3: probably even by the end of this podcast. But Pep
- 33:23Speaker 3: talked about how important he is, and I read some
- 33:24Speaker 3: quotes from him at the beginning and how he didn't
- 33:26Speaker 3: really want to play him, but with Ain't nor Rearway,
- 33:28Speaker 3: he hasn't got very much choice. He did come off
- 33:30Speaker 3: early and once the match was won against Brentford as well,
- 33:33Speaker 3: He's got back to back clean sheets in the last
- 33:34Speaker 3: two league matches three domestically if you include the League
- 33:37Speaker 3: Cup last night, and even when there wasn't a clean
- 33:40Speaker 3: sheet in the Champions League, he still managed to score
- 33:43Speaker 3: the fiction is against west Ham, who was struggling anyway,
- 33:45Speaker 3: but as Kelly mentioned earlier, they're now struggling even more
- 33:47Speaker 3: because they've lost Juf and Wambasaka to Afcons, so defensively
- 33:51Speaker 3: they're going to be all over the shop. He would
- 33:53Speaker 3: have thought, so potential for returns at both ends of
- 33:55Speaker 3: the pitch.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Jules who you got.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm him already and Lie talked about him as well.
- 34:02Speaker 4: I've gone for Ryan Turkey, who obviously started playing just
- 34:06Speaker 4: over an hour in the Midlewik fixture in the Cabo
- 34:08Speaker 4: Cup against Brentford or Riley also played a similar amount
- 34:13Speaker 4: of minutes as well, so you know they're going to
- 34:14Speaker 4: start at the weekend is west Ham. Shirkey is owned
- 34:17Speaker 4: by five point six percent of the manager, so that's
- 34:19Speaker 4: a proper differential, not you know, nine point n still
- 34:24Speaker 4: ship really six point five millions, so it's not really
- 34:27Speaker 4: too expensive considering his talent. Just returned twelve and six
- 34:31Speaker 4: in the last two game week plus as we saw
- 34:33Speaker 4: how good it was on the in the cap, So
- 34:37Speaker 4: Hurkey I think would be at the heart of everything
- 34:40Speaker 4: good that city do this weekend.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Okay, transfers and captains then well you both use loads
- 34:45Speaker 1: of them, Sam, still using what is that one transfer
- 34:47Speaker 1: that you told us about. I'm doing cash to O'Reilly
- 34:55Speaker 1: part at the beginning, I told you and it was
- 34:56Speaker 1: one week pun that got you as a oh zero zero.
- 34:59Speaker 3: It was a little with cash.
- 35:00Speaker 1: It's ended badly. It's over now and I'm going to
- 35:03Speaker 1: go to Roe Riley instead.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I couldn't you get a really hard time from these two,
- 35:07Speaker 2: Sam in this podcast. But come on, some of the
- 35:10Speaker 2: some of these this issue like catching for a week.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Honestly if we if this pub wasn't Celtic enough already,
- 35:16Speaker 1: I'd be going in harder. But and are you tripple
- 35:20Speaker 1: perhaps Earling Harland? Yes, I feel Phone.
- 35:26Speaker 3: I'm going to go Harland. I've been pundering on phone
- 35:28Speaker 3: in a week, but I just that the penalties and
- 35:31Speaker 3: everything else, I'm just going to go for Harlan.
- 35:33Speaker 1: I agree, Lee, what are your moves?
- 35:36Speaker 2: Probably well, almost certainly going to do the O'Reilly move
- 35:39Speaker 2: as well. Got an eye on Nownas on the other side,
- 35:41Speaker 2: but I think O'Riley is the one. So probably Tarkovski
- 35:43Speaker 2: to Nouns is going to be sorry, Tarkowski to O'Reilly
- 35:47Speaker 2: is going to be my move.
- 35:48Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 35:48Speaker 2: I've got four other transfers there. I don't feel kind
- 35:52Speaker 2: of obliged to spend them. I might just sit there
- 35:54Speaker 2: having the.
- 35:56Speaker 4: While.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Just maybe one transfer last week. It's quite nice, Yeah.
- 36:00Speaker 2: I know, But I see Jaws and Sam having such
- 36:02Speaker 2: a great time spending their five transfers in one week.
- 36:04Speaker 2: I feel like I feel like I'm getting a bit
- 36:06Speaker 2: left behind here. But no, I think I'll say the
- 36:07Speaker 2: others and just do that transfer.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Give them to me if you like, yeah, I can
- 36:12Speaker 1: sell Harland Captaincy.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Harland Captaincy. I don't know about triple captain though, I
- 36:18Speaker 2: don't know about triple captain. I've got my eye on Bruno.
- 36:22Speaker 2: I've got the triple captain. Yeah, and I've got Bruno
- 36:24Speaker 2: Fernandez game week nineteen Wolves at home in my sights
- 36:27Speaker 2: as well. It's either that or Harlan this week. I
- 36:30Speaker 2: think it might be Harlan this week, but not sure
- 36:32Speaker 2: yet Jee's plans.
- 36:35Speaker 4: I'm rolling and Harland captain. As you know, I've wasted
- 36:38Speaker 4: my triple captaincy already, so I wish. I wish he
- 36:41Speaker 4: blanks against west Ham like you did against me. No, no,
- 36:45Speaker 4: don't worry. I am mean.
- 36:47Speaker 1: And we all know that Jewel will still make transfers
- 36:49Speaker 1: that he's just not saying them. And I've done one transfer.
- 36:52Speaker 1: I have gone from Granwitch Shaka to Harry Wilson Wild
- 36:56Speaker 1: but probably too late for that grantit Shaka, but it
- 37:00Speaker 1: was for you. You know what. He's ticked over because
- 37:03Speaker 1: he gets deaf cone and he gets the order cist.
- 37:05Speaker 1: But every time he's got any points, he's been on
- 37:07Speaker 1: my bench. He hasn't played that much. And I just
- 37:10Speaker 1: thought why not before his price went up? Why not
- 37:12Speaker 1: just do a like for like soub. Basically, that's what
- 37:14Speaker 1: the power of the five transfers, isn't it? Because I
- 37:17Speaker 1: don't think about that transfer quite as much because I'm like, well,
- 37:19Speaker 1: it's just one transfer. But Volta Marta, I've got to
- 37:22Speaker 1: do something about that, but probably won't this week. Yes, okay,
- 37:25Speaker 1: that's why we'll leave it at a reminder of Saturday
- 37:27Speaker 1: morning deadline eleven am, ninety minutes ahead of the twelve
- 37:29Speaker 1: thirty game between new Castle and Chelsea Jewels. Don't be
- 37:31Speaker 1: late for that because they won't wait for you. Fancy
- 37:35Speaker 1: Show is back on Friday. I'm going to be seeing
- 37:37Speaker 1: Sam there and Harry's also in the studio with us.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Next week is actually Christmas. Why did I say that
- 37:41Speaker 1: if you wouldn't know it was Christmas? In case you
- 37:43Speaker 1: hadn't noticed week to go to a Christmas do your shopping.
- 37:46Speaker 1: It also means that we've got a slightly different schedule
- 37:48Speaker 1: to ensure that we get to you before as many
- 37:50Speaker 1: of the deadlines as possible. So we're going to be
- 37:52Speaker 1: back on Tuesday next week to review Game Week seventeen
- 37:55Speaker 1: and look ahead to Game week eighteen, which kicks off
- 37:57Speaker 1: on Boxing Day, and then when we get to that point,
- 37:59Speaker 1: I'll tell you what was happening after Christmas. It's a
- 38:00Speaker 1: bit different then as well. Have a good week, guy,
- 38:02Speaker 1: I see you. And by the way, Lee, thank you.
- 38:04Speaker 1: You can get on with your day now. In fact,
- 38:07Speaker 1: no jewels, you should say thanks.
- 38:09Speaker 4: I'm just said thank you and I said thank you
- 38:11Speaker 4: when I walked in.
- 38:12Speaker 1: All right, you see you later.
- 38:13Speaker 4: Guys,
