- 0:48sound minds and sound bodies. Lord, I pray for the children
- 0:52that are in school. God, I pray against the doctrine
- 0:55of demons. Lord, I pray God for righteous
- 0:58judges and righteous leaders to rise up in this hour.
- 1:02God, I pray against the schemes of the enemy.
- 1:04Lord, in the name of Jesus, bind the enemy from off of us.
- 1:08God, I pray for a hedge of protection around our house, a
- 1:12hedge of protection around our families.
- 1:14God, I pray that we'll be the high priest of the home.
- 1:17I pray, Lord, that you'll be well pleased with the reading of
- 1:20your Scripture today, Lord. I pray that you'll help us to
- 1:24know what to do and when to do it and how to do it.
- 1:27It's all about you, King Jesus. It's always been about you, King
- 1:31Jesus. It'll always be about you, King
- 1:33Jesus. I decrease as you increase.
- 1:36Holy Spirit, give us direction and discernment.
- 1:40Holy Spirit, help us. It's all about you, Lord.
- 1:46Thank you, Maranatha. The Spirit and the bride says,
- 1:49come, we worship you today in spirit and truth, and it's in
- 1:53Jesus Christ, holy and precious name that I pray, Amen.
- 2:01Well, let's start in verse one. I charge you, therefore before
- 2:06God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and
- 2:10the dead as his appearing and his Kingdom.
- 2:14So you need to understand that Paul here had a full insight of
- 2:19the millennial reign of Jesus Christ and Armageddon and the
- 2:23rapture of the church. And he's writing to Timothy as
- 2:27if he already knew. And he's letting us know by way
- 2:31of what to expect. Evil will be dealt with, God
- 2:36will not be mocked, and His word never returns void.
- 2:39And we need to understand the evil can have its heyday, but it
- 2:45does not change the facts that it will be dealt with.
- 2:52And God is a just God. And we're not going to be able
- 2:55to stand before God one day and say, I didn't know.
- 2:59We're not going to be able to stand before God one day and
- 3:02give them our pedigree of all the things that we did for
- 3:06people. We're not going to be able to
- 3:08stand before God one day and call him into the courtroom and
- 3:12tell him that we are moral and that we are good people.
- 3:15It just does not work that way. Evil will be dealt with, whether
- 3:20it is on the grand scheme or whether it is the evil of
- 3:24blaspheming the work of the Holy Spirit while He's drawing you,
- 3:29while God draws you to Himself. Friends, you need to understand
- 3:33that and hear all of evil. All wants Timothy to know and
- 3:40God wants us to know that all of evil will be done away with
- 3:45before we enter into glory and eternity into the new Jerusalem
- 3:51and the new heaven and the new earth.
- 3:52Friends, to preach the Word, be instant in season and out of
- 3:58season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and
- 4:02doctrine. So whether you feel like it or
- 4:05not, whether it's popular or whether it is not, we all are
- 4:10called to be the preachers and the teachers.
- 4:14It is not just for the learned man.
- 4:17This is for the fishermen and the tax collectors.
- 4:21Friends, we cannot just farm out our doctrine and theology to
- 4:27those who have a plaque on the wall.
- 4:29It does not work that way. We need to be rooted and
- 4:32grounded in God's Word. And if you will not call any of
- 4:36His Word into question, and if you'll read it literally and
- 4:39seriously, God will be well pleased to show you sound
- 4:43doctrine and sound theology. And all of it is congruent and
- 4:47it all works together. And His name is Christ Jesus. 3
- 4:54For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine,
- 4:57But after their own lust they shall heap to themselves
- 5:01Teachers having itching ears. You can see it, it is here, it
- 5:05is now. There are people who only want a
- 5:07sounding board. And no matter what side of the
- 5:10fence you want to find yourself on, there's enough people out
- 5:14there to substantiate what it is that you want to believe.
- 5:18And you've already made a love decision for the world and for
- 5:22all of the things of the world. And that is what you need to
- 5:25understand. Because anyone who has ever
- 5:28approached God honestly, anyone who has ever tried to disprove
- 5:33or discredit the word of God has become a believer.
- 5:36Because there is enough proof and there is enough to
- 5:40substantiate that God is real and that the word of God is
- 5:44trustworthy. But if you would want to amass
- 5:47to yourself teachers who teach you that homosexuality is OK.
- 5:52And if you want to amass to yourself teachers who tell you
- 5:55that abortion is OK, and if you want to amass to yourself
- 5:59teachers who tell you that evolution is real, then there is
- 6:02enough out there and you can see that it is to their own demise.
- 6:07And God said that it would be that way.
- 6:12They shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be
- 6:15turned into fables. There are people who actually
- 6:18believe in aliens and alien abductions.
- 6:21They actually believe that we evolved from a single cell.
- 6:25There's actually those that believe that we can have life on
- 6:30another planet. There are those that believe
- 6:32that we came from nothing and it is fables and it is garbage.
- 6:36And they'll believe all that, but they won't believe in one
- 6:39true, living God who created everything, friends, from the
- 6:44breath of his mouth, He spoke it all into existence.
- 6:47And what it is, is they've already made their decision of
- 6:50who they want to serve, and they serve the Father of lies because
- 6:54they don't want conviction for their sinful behavior. 5 But
- 7:00watch you and all things endure afflictions.
- 7:03Do the work of an evangelist. Make full proof of your
- 7:06ministry. So we're called to be
- 7:08evangelist. We're not just called to be
- 7:10preachers and teachers, but we're actually called to put our
- 7:13faith into action and to go out into the highways and the
- 7:16hedges, into the harvest, and to snatch those out of the fire.
- 7:20Friends, we need to be able to go into the hardest and the
- 7:23darkest places. And there are those that go, and
- 7:26there are those that send, and that'll prove our ministry by
- 7:34doing the work of an evangelist. 6 For I am now ready to be
- 7:39offered in the time of my departure is at hand.
- 7:41So Paul knew that at any day the executioner could come and lob
- 7:47off his head friends. And you need to understand that
- 7:52Paul was not afraid, he said to live his Christ and to die his
- 7:55gain. And you can see the entirety of
- 7:57Second Timothy has been seasoned with Paul foreknowledge of what
- 8:04is to come. Seven.
- 8:06I've fought a good fight. I've finished my course.
- 8:10I've kept the faith. That is what you need to
- 8:12understand. It's easy to start a race, but
- 8:15it's hard to finish. And we are called to finish
- 8:18well. We are called to increase our
- 8:20faith. We are called to keep our love
- 8:22hot and burning. We are called to keep our oil
- 8:26filled, our lamps full, our Wicks trimmed.
- 8:30Friends, we do not need to grow despondent.
- 8:33We do not need to grow disconnected.
- 8:36We need to increase the love and increase the faith that we have
- 8:41for God and that we have for Jesus, that we have for the Holy
- 8:45Spirit and that we have for the Saints and for the world.
- 8:50Friends, for those that will come to a saving knowledge.
- 8:54And God will have a representative from every nation
- 8:57and every tongue and every people.
- 8:58Group 8 From now on there is laid up for me a crown of
- 9:02righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give
- 9:06me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them that
- 9:11love His appearing. There are so many people who are
- 9:14so turned around and they're don't actually look forward to
- 9:17the second coming of Christ and they just want this life and
- 9:21they just want things to go well for them now.
- 9:24And they like the idea of not going to hell, and they like the
- 9:28idea of living a comfortable life, but they don't actually
- 9:32look forward to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ
- 9:37and all of his glory, friends. And that is where they air
- 9:41because they need to be those who await and look and watch.
- 9:51They need to be those who speed his coming friends.
- 9:55That is what the Bible is clear about.
- 9:57And there are so many people who do not actually look forward to
- 10:01it. They don't teach it, they don't
- 10:03believe it. They're not rooted and grounded
- 10:05in God's Word. And that is why it is so
- 10:07important to learn the entirety of God's Word.
- 10:10Because if you're just relying on a person to tell you what the
- 10:14Bible says, they're going to cherry pick verses that fits
- 10:18their theology, that fits their worldview.
- 10:21And that is where you get these teachers and these pastors and
- 10:25these preachers that are apostate and that are heretical
- 10:29and they are just propagating prosperity, friends.
- 10:34And you can see that it is not God's heart.
- 10:36We need to be those that stay ready.
- 10:40Not only do we get ready, but we stay ready for his coming
- 10:44friends. And it could happen today.
- 10:46It happens like a thief in the night.
- 10:48He's going to come, friends, in the sound of a trumpet, friends,
- 10:52the voice of an Archangel, friends, and the twinkling of an
- 10:55eye, friends, he's coming. I pray that you're ready.
- 10:58I pray that you're looking forward to it. 10 or actually 9.
- 11:03Do your diligence to come shortly to me.
- 11:06So Paul here is going to give some personal remarks.
- 11:09He's ended his letter here for the most part, and he's going to
- 11:13give us some some remarks, some ending remarks of what it is
- 11:17that he would like for all of his constituents to do.
- 11:23Do your diligence to come shortly to me. 10 For demons has
- 11:27forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed
- 11:31unto Thessalonica, crescents to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.
- 11:37So here Paul is saying that everyone's abandoned him while
- 11:40he's in prison, some for the wrong reasons and some for the
- 11:46right reasons. 11 Only Luke is with me.
- 11:50Take Mark and bring him with you, for he is profitable to me
- 11:55for the ministry. So you can see here that Luke
- 11:59the Doctor Who wrote the Gospel of Luke and the book of Acts, he
- 12:05is actually with Paul here and he is helping Paul.
- 12:09And so Paul also wants John Mark to come with him.
- 12:13And we remember John Mark, that is, who wrote the Gospel of
- 12:17Mark, and Paul here is requesting him to come to him
- 12:25because he's profitable for the ministry. 12 Antiochus have I
- 12:30sent to Ephesus. 13 The cloak that I left at Troas with
- 12:34Carpus, when you come, bring it with you in the books, but
- 12:38especially the parchments. So Paul, even though he knew
- 12:43that he was about to be martyred, he still was holding
- 12:51on to the faith that if God had more things for him to learn
- 12:56about or to write that in divine Providence, these things would
- 13:01come to him. 14 Alexander the coppersmith did much evil, did
- 13:09me much evil. The Lord reward him according to
- 13:12his works. So vengeance is the Lord's.
- 13:15But Paul made sure to let Timothy no to be on guard
- 13:21against Alexander the Coppersmith, 15 of whom be you
- 13:27where also, for he has greatly withstood our words.
- 13:31So this Alexander the Coppersmith was hostile towards
- 13:36the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. 16 At my first answer,
- 13:40no man stood with me, but all men forsook me.
- 13:44I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
- 13:47So Paul is just like the Lord Jesus Christ when he says,
- 13:53forgive them, for they know not what they do.
- 13:56He has that sentiment here. 17 Notwithstanding, the Lord stood
- 14:01with me and strengthened me, that by me the preaching might
- 14:05be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear, And I was
- 14:09delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
- 14:12So the Lord stood with him. How amazing is that?
- 14:15How much better is it for God to be well pleased with us than
- 14:19man? How much better is it for us to
- 14:22listen to God than it is for us to listen to man?
- 14:25How much better is it for us to have the fear of God more than
- 14:28the fear of man? Friends, that is what you need
- 14:32to understand. Even if you're the last believer
- 14:34on planet earth. Finish the race well.
- 14:38Do not grow weary. Make sure that you are telling
- 14:42everybody about what Christ did for you. 18 And the Lord shall
- 14:46deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his
- 14:51heavenly Kingdom, to whom be glory forever and ever.
- 14:54Amen. When we are on our deathbed,
- 14:57when we are drawing our last breath, I pray that we can have
- 15:01this same sentiment, that we can know that God is able to deliver
- 15:07us into his Kingdom, just as Christ told the thief on the
- 15:11cross that today you will be with me in paradise.
- 15:14We need to know and we don't need to be afraid of death.
- 15:18We need to know that God is able to carry us through the waters
- 15:24and He'll be waiting for us on the other side and we will will
- 15:27be with him in glory forever and ever with incorruptible bodies,
- 15:32Friends, because we placed our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
- 15:37and that was the greatest thing that we ever did with our entire
- 15:40life. And every single moment and
- 15:42every single second of every single day is another
- 15:46opportunity for you to get it right, friends.
- 15:49And if you've got breath in your lungs today, it's not too late.
- 15:53Place your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and know that he is
- 15:56able to rescue you from death. 19 Salute Prissa and Aquila in
- 16:04the household of Onisphorus. 20 Erastus abode Corinth, but
- 16:09Trophemus, have I left it my light?
- 16:11I'm sick. 21 Do your diligence to come before winter.
- 16:16Ubilis greets you, Impudence and Linus and Claudia and all the
- 16:20brothers. 22 And the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
- 16:24Grace be with you. Amen.
- 16:31What an amazing finality to this letter to Timothy.
- 16:38Look at how Paul is finishing strong.
- 16:42There's no feeling of fear. There is no sense that he is in
- 16:51dismay. He's bold and he's confident,
- 16:55and he knows that to live is Christ and to die is gain.
- 16:59And if he has another day on planet earth, it's to preach the
- 17:03good news of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 17:06But if he is to be executed, he has full confidence that he will
- 17:13go to be with the Lord. I pray that you have that
- 17:16confidence today. I pray that you can know that
- 17:20you know, that you know that you know where you're going to spend
- 17:24eternity and that you do not have a hope.
- 17:27So maybe so kind of faith, but that you have full assurance
- 17:34that you are His. You are in Him and He is in you.
- 17:39And if you do not have that full assurance, then let today be the
- 17:45day of salvation. Confess with your mouth that
- 17:49Jesus is Lord. Believe in your heart that God
- 17:52raised him from the dead. You shall be saved.
- 17:59I'm praying for you. I love you.
- 18:05God is so good to us. He's so amazing.
- 18:10We give them all do honor and glory.
- 18:13It's all about him. Stay prayed up today.
- 18:21God bless you. See you back here tomorrow.
