- 0:01Speaker 1: Hi Hay with Intuitive Coaching with Amy dot Com and
- 0:07Speaker 1: I recently my mom passed this year and as we
- 0:13Speaker 1: were going through the funeral arrangements and you know, getting
- 0:19Speaker 1: clearing out her apartment and resolving aspects of her finances
- 0:23Speaker 1: in the state, I had a moment right after she
- 0:28Speaker 1: passed where I was like, I can be chaotic and
- 0:36Speaker 1: crazy and dramatic about all of this, or I can
- 0:42Speaker 1: decide that I'm going to move through this peacefully. And
- 0:45Speaker 1: I rooted into that thought, that belief, that way of
- 0:49Speaker 1: being that no matter what happens as we move through this,
- 0:54Speaker 1: I'm going to do it peacefully. So even when you know,
- 0:57Speaker 1: just then, I think, as you're going through a high
- 1:00Speaker 1: energy situation, like you know, as Rob and I were,
- 1:05Speaker 1: my brother and I were planning her funeral and stuff,
- 1:07Speaker 1: we had to we need to have conversations and make
- 1:11Speaker 1: decisions really quickly. And so of course, like you're trying
- 1:15Speaker 1: to get it right, and you know, you really don't
- 1:18Speaker 1: know what it's like to go through someone passing until
- 1:20Speaker 1: they do, you know, And so even if there was conflict,
- 1:26Speaker 1: I could always go back to I made the choice
- 1:30Speaker 1: to move through this peacefully, and so I do believe
- 1:36Speaker 1: Abraham Hicks when they say you can't go from like
- 1:40Speaker 1: the bottom of the emotional guidance scale to the top
- 1:43Speaker 1: of the emotional guidance scale. You got to work your
- 1:44Speaker 1: way up. But I do believe that you can set
- 1:48Speaker 1: an intention of the emotion you want to hold as
- 1:52Speaker 1: you move through an experience and lock that in and
- 1:57Speaker 1: so then no matter where you're at on the journey emotionally,
- 2:01Speaker 1: you can choose. Hey, I said I was going to
- 2:04Speaker 1: do it this way. Let me find myself there. Yeah, okay,
- 2:09Speaker 1: we're having conflict about that. That is annoying the hell
- 2:11Speaker 1: out of me. This is so frustrating. And I chose
- 2:18Speaker 1: that I was going to move through this peacefully, and
- 2:20Speaker 1: so how do I get back to peace right now? Okay,
- 2:23Speaker 1: I need to shut my mouth. I need to shut
- 2:26Speaker 1: my mouth because this isn't really that important. Oh you
- 2:28Speaker 1: know what I need to be observing right now, because
- 2:32Speaker 1: I'm realizing this situation isn't what it is. This is
- 2:36Speaker 1: emotions coming up. This is anxieties, worries, fears coming up,
- 2:41Speaker 1: and has nothing to do with what we're actually dealing with. Okay,
- 2:45Speaker 1: I'm observing that, Hey, this is all going on and
- 2:50Speaker 1: I chose to be peaceful. I chose to be peaceful.
- 2:54Speaker 1: It's not minimizing your feelings when you decide how you're
- 2:59Speaker 1: going to move through a situation. I felt a range
- 3:02Speaker 1: of feelings the whole time. I had frustration. I had
- 3:06Speaker 1: some anger about the way my mom left our estate.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I had I had some annoyance because you know, I'm like,
- 3:14Speaker 1: I had some anxiety, I had some like worry. I
- 3:19Speaker 1: had some sadness. My mom had been sick for a
- 3:22Speaker 1: long time, like seventeen years, so, I mean like every
- 3:25Speaker 1: year my brother and I were like, oh god, you
- 3:27Speaker 1: know there was something that showed up, or were like,
- 3:29Speaker 1: is this the end? So and so, there wasn't like
- 3:33Speaker 1: a lot of that sad sad sadness I had already
- 3:36Speaker 1: really processed through and I had spent some time with
- 3:41Speaker 1: my mom over the last couple of years since I
- 3:42Speaker 1: moved back to Los Angeles, and I could work through
- 3:45Speaker 1: the last of some childhood things, and so actually felt good,
- 3:51Speaker 1: like I don't feel like anything's unresolved. Yeah, it's it's
- 3:57Speaker 1: weird to say that. Most people don't talk that way
- 3:59Speaker 1: about that. But I know she's safe now, I know
- 4:04Speaker 1: she's in heaven. Doing life the way she does it,
- 4:08Speaker 1: or her existence the way she does it. I know
- 4:12Speaker 1: that she's still present in guiding us as it seems
- 4:17Speaker 1: right and true for our life. And I know she's
- 4:22Speaker 1: not in pain. I know she's not suffering. No, this
- 4:24Speaker 1: doesn't minimize any of my grief. I had to go
- 4:27Speaker 1: through the grieving process. I had to feel all of
- 4:30Speaker 1: my feelings. But as I moved through the experience of
- 4:36Speaker 1: her death, of her funeral, of her passing, I chose peace.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I said, I was going to move through this peacefully.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Let me find my way into peace, not minimizing my feelings. Yes,
- 4:52Speaker 1: that's how I feel about that situation. I'm not all
- 4:55Speaker 1: of a sudden turning her into a saint. I'm not
- 4:58Speaker 1: making her the most evil person in the world. I'm
- 5:00Speaker 1: not making up any stories. I choose to move through
- 5:04Speaker 1: this with peace. Oh, this didn't go the way I
- 5:06Speaker 1: wanted it to. Yeah, I could be an asshole about it,
- 5:09Speaker 1: or I could be like, Okay, this is the nature
- 5:11Speaker 1: of it. I do want this thing to be the
- 5:13Speaker 1: way I wanted to. Because you know, the funeral industry
- 5:16Speaker 1: is its own thing, and so you do have to
- 5:21Speaker 1: hold to your sense of professional standards as you move
- 5:24Speaker 1: through that. So yeah, I could be like, oh, yeah,
- 5:26Speaker 1: that did not go as we have planned. That's okay.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I still said I was going to move through this
- 5:33Speaker 1: with peace. And so you do get to choose how
- 5:40Speaker 1: you want to move through an experience. You can choose
- 5:43Speaker 1: a feeling, and I'd say, choose a feeling that feels
- 5:48Speaker 1: accessible to you. I believe everybody has a default high
- 5:53Speaker 1: vibrational setting that works really well for them. For some people,
- 5:57Speaker 1: it's joy, for some people, it is love, for some people,
- 6:01Speaker 1: it's freedom. For me, it's peace. I can get to
- 6:06Speaker 1: peace really easily. I can work up the scale and
- 6:10Speaker 1: get myself to a place of peace. And So what
- 6:13Speaker 1: high vibrational feeling works for you consistently, Maybe it's gratitude,
- 6:24Speaker 1: whatever the feeling might be. Decide how you're going to
- 6:27Speaker 1: move through an experience, no matter what it is, particularly
- 6:33Speaker 1: stuff that's unexpected, things that are outside of your control.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Because we all have the choice to feel terrible and
- 6:42Speaker 1: anxious and worried and down and frustrated and dramatic and
- 6:49Speaker 1: chaotic and confused, we always have that choice available. But
- 6:55Speaker 1: you also have the choice of choosing a high vibrational feeling. Oh, choose,
- 7:00Speaker 1: choose how you're going to move through an experience, and
- 7:02Speaker 1: you'll find that situations and circumstances will show up inspiration,
- 7:09Speaker 1: intuitive wisdom will show up that will support that journey.
- 7:13Speaker 1: So I know, as I was moving through the grieving process,
- 7:19Speaker 1: I was just inspired one night to say, because my
- 7:21Speaker 1: brother and I have a way of like like we're humorous, right,
- 7:27Speaker 1: like like we we could be. We weren't like solemn,
- 7:32Speaker 1: you know, if we you know, we both would show
- 7:33Speaker 1: up at the funeral home. We weren't like you know,
- 7:36Speaker 1: making arrangements and stuff. We weren't solemn. And so I
- 7:39Speaker 1: was like, we could make a joke, you know, and
- 7:44Speaker 1: and feel fine, you know. And it wasn't didn't feel
- 7:47Speaker 1: like we were minimizing, But there was part of me
- 7:48Speaker 1: was like, hey, I think this might be the way
- 7:54Speaker 1: we're moving through grief. And so one night I was
- 7:56Speaker 1: I felt an intuition to google the graving process and
- 8:00Speaker 1: ways to move through grave and one of them is humor.
- 8:04Speaker 1: And I'm not saying if you're not a jokey person,
- 8:08Speaker 1: that could easily be a way to bypass what you're feeling. No,
- 8:12Speaker 1: we were still feeling our feelings, but the way we
- 8:14Speaker 1: moved through it was, hey know, we could chuckle about something, right,
- 8:19Speaker 1: And so you get to decide how you move through
- 8:24Speaker 1: an experience, even if it is something as big. I
- 8:31Speaker 1: say that in quotes because now that I'm looking at death,
- 8:33Speaker 1: I'm saying, oh, it's just a part of our human experience.
- 8:38Speaker 1: It's not any larger or smaller than anything else we
- 8:43Speaker 1: go through. Yeah, I know, that's that's bold, because a
- 8:51Speaker 1: lot of people can take a death and let it
- 8:55Speaker 1: really just you know, destroy them, And I'm taking that
- 9:00Speaker 1: away from you at all. But there is a way
- 9:06Speaker 1: to choose how you want to move through it emotionally.
- 9:10Speaker 1: So I hope this is helpful to somebody. Also, I
- 9:12Speaker 1: will give this sidebar on grief. I did listen to
- 9:18Speaker 1: a lot of books on grief. I started immediately, and
- 9:23Speaker 1: it was more so there was another way of being
- 9:26Speaker 1: in my consciousness, another understanding of the process. I knew
- 9:30Speaker 1: a lot about grief because of the work I do,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and I think we grieve not just a death, but
- 9:35Speaker 1: we grieve any type of loss. And so it was
- 9:40Speaker 1: really helpful to just start picking out some books and
- 9:45Speaker 1: I listened to them and if it wasn't the right book,
- 9:47Speaker 1: I'd switch to another one. But I really consciously wanted
- 9:51Speaker 1: to have some intellectual understanding of what I might be
- 9:55Speaker 1: going through as I moved through it, and that was comforting.
- 9:59Speaker 1: It was really comforting. So I would say, if you
- 10:03Speaker 1: are going through a loss, be willing to pick up
- 10:06Speaker 1: a book on grieving because it might be the comfort
- 10:10Speaker 1: that you need that will get you through that process.
