Capítulo 118: On Making 'The Sellout' with Mariah Castañeda
Welcome back, locamores! On this brand new capítulo we are joined by journalist and podcast host, Mariah Castañeda. We talk about the making of a new podcast, The Sellout created by LA Taco and Neon Hum. This podcast is about former Councilmember Jose Huizar and how he allegedly led a criminal enterprise based in city hall and how Boyle Heights, the community that raised him paid the ultimate price. Tune in to hear more about why centering community narratives is important when making a show like this.
