- 0:00Speaker 1: Good morning. Yeah, we're I guess a little over twenty
- 0:02Speaker 1: four hours out. Now there's a little bit more joy
- 0:05Speaker 1: in my voice at this point because we are getting
- 0:08Speaker 1: so close.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I published my final mock draft this morning, so it's
- 0:12Speaker 1: a pretty good day.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Yeah, And what has it? What is noteworthy of your
- 0:16Speaker 3: mock draft for the first round. I've seen you post
- 0:20Speaker 3: this week, right this week that if Arizona takes Jeremiava
- 0:22Speaker 3: of the Notre Dame running back at number three, that's
- 0:26Speaker 3: a signal to you, Josh Edwards, that they're going to
- 0:28Speaker 3: try to get Ty Simpson as well, the quarterback from Alabama.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Who is his interest up here in Seattle? Because if
- 0:34Speaker 3: Ty Simpson's still on the board at thirty two, that
- 0:36Speaker 3: makes a ripe trade down opportunity for the Seahawks, be
- 0:39Speaker 3: it with Arizona or any other team that might want
- 0:41Speaker 3: to get Ty Simpson in the first round. And your question,
- 0:44Speaker 3: why try to jumpstart this team, meaning Arizona with a
- 0:48Speaker 3: running back when you don't have a quarterback? What are
- 0:50Speaker 3: you hearing or thinking about Ty Simpson to Arizona through
- 0:53Speaker 3: a trade with Seattle.
- 0:56Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 0:57Speaker 1: I probably put too much thought into each of these
- 0:59Speaker 1: SoCs because I'm sure we're going to have a surprise
- 1:01Speaker 1: at number two overall, and it's just going to disrupt everything.
- 1:04Speaker 1: But you know, with Arizona, I've consistently heard them linked
- 1:10Speaker 1: with Tye Simpson throughout this process. And it's not to
- 1:13Speaker 1: say that other teams are not interested. I am just
- 1:16Speaker 1: less confident in where those teams are. So Arizona is
- 1:19Speaker 1: the team that I continually come back to as being
- 1:22Speaker 1: that Simpson team. And if you really have a conviction
- 1:25Speaker 1: in that player, then you're probably going to want that
- 1:28Speaker 1: fifth year option as well, which means you would ideally
- 1:32Speaker 1: trade back into the first round, just as the Giants
- 1:35Speaker 1: did last year moving up to get Jackson Dart. Where
- 1:39Speaker 1: Seattle comes into the picture, I also believe that they
- 1:42Speaker 1: want to trade down from number thirty two overall.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Of course, they've.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Only got four picks, you know, multiple needs to fill
- 1:49Speaker 1: throughout this draft, and John Schneider is already voiced that
- 1:52Speaker 1: he wants to move back, which you know is kind
- 1:55Speaker 1: of in his wheelhouse anyway. So it makes sense in
- 1:59Speaker 1: that regard. The only reason that I've been hung up
- 2:02Speaker 1: on making that projection in mock draft, and I know
- 2:05Speaker 1: it's only two spots so you don't want to get
- 2:07Speaker 1: hung up on it too much. Does Seattle really want
- 2:10Speaker 1: to be the team that kind of facilitates Arizona getting
- 2:13Speaker 1: their quarterback at the future if that player works out.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I don't know. That's kind of why I've leaned towards
- 2:20Speaker 1: maybe Kansas City or Miami, one of those other teams
- 2:23Speaker 1: with two first round picks that are sitting there towards
- 2:26Speaker 1: the end of the first round. So as much as
- 2:28Speaker 1: I think Seattle wants to trade out, I'm curious if
- 2:32Speaker 1: they're going to be the partner with Arizona as opposed
- 2:35Speaker 1: to maybe one of these other teams.
- 2:36Speaker 5: That's a good point.
- 2:37Speaker 3: And John Snyder we asked him at the press conference
- 2:40Speaker 3: on Monday about that, and he says, yeah, I don't care.
- 2:42Speaker 3: We trade with everybody. We got great, great relationship with Arizona.
- 2:44Speaker 3: We get great relationship with LA and San Francisco. But
- 2:47Speaker 3: to your point, you're handing him a quarterback game may
- 2:50Speaker 3: end up facing twice of a year for the next
- 2:52Speaker 3: three or four yeah, detually five years. So yeah, that's
- 2:54Speaker 3: exactly I get the point there. Josh Edwards is joining
- 2:57Speaker 3: us from CBS Sports Headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He's
- 3:00Speaker 3: an NFL draft writer, one of the best ones for
- 3:03Speaker 3: CBS Sports.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Chris, Yeah, Jendarium Price coming to Seattle at number thirty
- 3:08Speaker 4: two in your latest model would make people happy.
- 3:11Speaker 5: What do you think that?
- 3:13Speaker 4: Do you think they should prioritize more premium position like
- 3:16Speaker 4: offensive line or defensive front, or you think this is
- 3:18Speaker 4: the guy no matter what.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I again, I've put a lot of thought into this,
- 3:23Speaker 1: and I just think the way that they've sat back
- 3:26Speaker 1: and allowed free agency and some other things to occur,
- 3:30Speaker 1: I just wonder if they have a plan in place
- 3:33Speaker 1: and they're just willing to pay a premium on the
- 3:36Speaker 1: running back position throughout the course of the draft, in
- 3:39Speaker 1: which case I've had them picking Jenerarium Price pretty regularly
- 3:42Speaker 1: at number thirty two overall. You know, the counterpoint of
- 3:45Speaker 1: that is it's almost like a placeholder for now, because again,
- 3:50Speaker 1: I do believe that they want to trade back and
- 3:53Speaker 1: maybe they're not able to get, you know, the significant
- 3:56Speaker 1: haul that you may have in prior years, just because
- 4:00Speaker 1: that's what this draft is. But even if you move
- 4:02Speaker 1: back four or five spots, you know, then does Price
- 4:06Speaker 1: become a little bit more appealing to Seahawks fans. I
- 4:10Speaker 1: know you want an edge rusher and a cornerback, and
- 4:12Speaker 1: you know some of these other positions of need. I
- 4:15Speaker 1: think that those positions line up more favorably on Day
- 4:20Speaker 1: two than maybe the running back position. So I feel
- 4:23Speaker 1: more comfortable if you're building a package of getting priced
- 4:27Speaker 1: at thirty two or trade back into the second round
- 4:31Speaker 1: and get an edge rusher and a cornerback on day two,
- 4:34Speaker 1: I feel a little bit better about the package than
- 4:37Speaker 1: if you were to take the edge rusher at thirty
- 4:40Speaker 1: two and then get your running back in your cornerback
- 4:43Speaker 1: on day two somewhere. That's That's kind of how I've
- 4:45Speaker 1: approached it. But it will be interesting because John Schneider,
- 4:50Speaker 1: as much as I think I have a read on
- 4:52Speaker 1: what he wants to do in this draft, he's always
- 4:54Speaker 1: somebody that throws a curveball. So that's going to be interesting.
- 4:58Speaker 3: John Schneider, again eight, has traded his first round pick
- 5:02Speaker 3: fourteen times in sixteen drafts, ten of them trading down
- 5:06Speaker 3: and the other four times involving players the Russell Wilson
- 5:09Speaker 3: trade and Jamal Adams and so on. So yeah, he
- 5:13Speaker 3: wants to trade down, and he did advertise this is
- 5:15Speaker 3: Josh Edwards CBS Sports Network joining us some Fort Latodo
- 5:19Speaker 3: FDA before his coverage of the NFL Draft. I see
- 5:21Speaker 3: on your Mark this morning you put out that you
- 5:24Speaker 3: have Caleb Downs the consensus. A lot of people think
- 5:27Speaker 3: that John Harbo and the Giants want to take Caleb Downs,
- 5:29Speaker 3: a safety from Ohio State.
- 5:31Speaker 5: At five.
- 5:32Speaker 3: You have Jeremiah Love going to the Texans at four,
- 5:37Speaker 3: and then you have the Cowboys doing what a lot
- 5:39Speaker 3: of people think the Cowboys are going to do, trade
- 5:41Speaker 3: up with the Browns to six and go get defense
- 5:45Speaker 3: Sunny Styles, a linebacker from Ohio State. Then you have
- 5:47Speaker 3: Carnal Tate, wide receiver Ohio State. I have the Browns
- 5:53Speaker 3: trading down with Tampa Bay down to fifteen, and I
- 5:56Speaker 3: think Washington ends up getting Sonny Styles to replace Bobby
- 5:59Speaker 3: Wagoner as their green dot linebacker. Off the ball in
- 6:03Speaker 3: Washington for coach Dan Quinn. But we all know Dallas's
- 6:07Speaker 3: defense is horrible. It has been horrible for a couple
- 6:10Speaker 3: of years, and Brian Schottenheimer needs to fix that side
- 6:12Speaker 3: of it. How confident are you that the Cowboys jump
- 6:15Speaker 3: up like that they'd have two first round picks already.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Chris Kids in the booth here stick in his head
- 6:20Speaker 3: like he thinks that's going to happen. Yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 1: So again, I've had this scenario mocked out dating back
- 6:27Speaker 1: to the Combine, in which the Cowboys come up for
- 6:30Speaker 1: a defensive player, and I just thought, at this point,
- 6:33Speaker 1: why change it. You know, I've kind of thought that's
- 6:36Speaker 1: been likely throughout this process. You know, just looking at
- 6:39Speaker 1: the moves that the Cowboys have made being a little
- 6:42Speaker 1: bit more aggressive, I think there's a little bit more
- 6:43Speaker 1: urgency there to be competitive, and you know that's why
- 6:47Speaker 1: I've had them trading up for one of these defensive players.
- 6:51Speaker 1: It's interesting because working through that mock draft last night,
- 6:56Speaker 1: Jeremiah Love was kind of the hang up there because
- 6:59Speaker 1: we've heard them associated with essentially every team minus the
- 7:03Speaker 1: Browns between three and seven, and where he goes, I
- 7:06Speaker 1: think is going to be incredibly telling because if the
- 7:09Speaker 1: first five picks are defense, which could have conceivably happened
- 7:15Speaker 1: in my mock draft, if Jeremiah Love had gone seven
- 7:18Speaker 1: to the Commanders as opposed to four to the Titans,
- 7:22Speaker 1: then you're talking about the Cowboys and the Commanders who
- 7:25Speaker 1: have both been eyeing defensive players in this draft, not
- 7:29Speaker 1: even getting a chance to take one of those players,
- 7:32Speaker 1: because in that scenario scenario, you would have rvl Reis,
- 7:36Speaker 1: David Bailey, Sonny Styles, and Caleb Downs all off the board.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So at that point, who are teams trading up for
- 7:44Speaker 1: if not for Jeremiah Love. I think that Love is
- 7:49Speaker 1: kind of the prospect to me that is going to
- 7:52Speaker 1: shape this entire top ten in terms of where he's taken,
- 7:55Speaker 1: because if he is one of those top five picks,
- 7:58Speaker 1: I think we're more likely to see him little bit
- 8:00Speaker 1: more action they're in the top ten overall, as teams
- 8:03Speaker 1: kind of jockey to get maybe their player of choosing
- 8:06Speaker 1: their whether that's six or seven. So that's kind of
- 8:12Speaker 1: the scenario that I'm watching and kind of waiting with
- 8:15Speaker 1: baited bread to see how it plays out.
- 8:17Speaker 4: If the Raiders, for whatever reason decided not to take
- 8:20Speaker 4: Fernanda Mendoza overall at the number one spot, who would
- 8:23Speaker 4: be that player that could come in as an alternative
- 8:27Speaker 4: and really make a difference for this roster for this team.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I so my top prospect is Rvel Reese. I just
- 8:36Speaker 1: think that he has the highest upside in this draft class.
- 8:40Speaker 1: And speaking specifically to the Jets, because they will have
- 8:43Speaker 1: their choice of any player not named Mendoza. In all likelihood,
- 8:49Speaker 1: I have given them rvel reefs throughout most of this process,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and that's the direction that I would go personally. But
- 8:56Speaker 1: what you have to take into consideration is where general
- 9:00Speaker 1: managers and head coaches are in relation to their job
- 9:04Speaker 1: employment timeline. It's been made very clear. I think to
- 9:08Speaker 1: Aaron Glenn that you know, he's on the hot seat
- 9:11Speaker 1: for the twenty twenty sixth season, So you know, are
- 9:14Speaker 1: you more inclined to take a player that's more ready
- 9:17Speaker 1: to contribute now, which would be David Bailey as opposed
- 9:21Speaker 1: to taking an RVL Reese, who you know is again
- 9:25Speaker 1: probably the higher ceialing prospect, but has a little bit
- 9:29Speaker 1: of a transition ahead of him, moving from more of
- 9:31Speaker 1: an off ball linebacker role to full time edge rusher,
- 9:35Speaker 1: I would assume is what's going to play out. But
- 9:40Speaker 1: is the general manager on the same timeline as the
- 9:43Speaker 1: head coach, you know, does he have more job security
- 9:46Speaker 1: in which case he could take Reese instead of a
- 9:49Speaker 1: David Bailey. So I could see there being a little
- 9:52Speaker 1: bit of tension in the Jets' locker room as they,
- 9:55Speaker 1: you know, approach the clock at number two overall. And
- 9:59Speaker 1: I think that's one of the interesting dynamics that I
- 10:02Speaker 1: think a lot of people maybe haven't considered, is it
- 10:06Speaker 1: will play out very quickly on Thursday night.
- 10:09Speaker 3: I think it's ridiculous that Aaron Glenn would be under
- 10:12Speaker 3: a hot seat. Ye had a defense that had no
- 10:14Speaker 3: interceptions last year. He had an offense that had no
- 10:18Speaker 3: threats to either catch the ball or.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Run the ball.
- 10:21Speaker 3: And Bryce Hall was that, Oh yeah, if I'm Baron Glenn,
- 10:25Speaker 3: I'm going down with guns blazing in my way, which
- 10:28Speaker 3: is defense. And I have him taken Ava Reese for
- 10:33Speaker 3: reasons you say that a longer turn up upside. Incidentally,
- 10:36Speaker 3: the Jets canceled their pre draft visit, you know, Josh
- 10:40Speaker 3: with David Bailey, the Texas Tech edge rusher, and a
- 10:43Speaker 3: lot of people think, well, is that a smoke screen?
- 10:45Speaker 3: Does that mean they really want them and they don't
- 10:46Speaker 3: want the league to know they want them?
- 10:47Speaker 5: Or why?
- 10:48Speaker 3: The other school of thought is, if you really are
- 10:50Speaker 3: going to invest the second overall pick and the guy,
- 10:52Speaker 3: why would you cancel the pre draft visit with him?
- 10:54Speaker 5: Once?
- 10:54Speaker 3: You want to have every moment you can get to know,
- 10:57Speaker 3: so you're right that's an interesting pick. Aaron Glennon man
- 11:02Speaker 3: any Jets coach in the last including Robert Sola, that's
- 11:06Speaker 3: it just state fair some of the things that they
- 11:08Speaker 3: put up with that there will even take the job.
- 11:11Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, exactly. Let's go NFC West. You have Reese,
- 11:16Speaker 3: the Ohio state linebacker going three to Arizona, and Arizona
- 11:19Speaker 3: staying pud although some people think they may move down.
- 11:23Speaker 5: And then you have the Rams.
- 11:24Speaker 3: I cannot believe the Rams have been any They cannot
- 11:29Speaker 3: have been more vocal about wide receiver and specifically Mackay Lemon,
- 11:34Speaker 3: hometown kid from USC not Lemon is not considered the
- 11:38Speaker 3: game breaking wide Receiver's just very good at everything is
- 11:43Speaker 3: Is it wide receiver or bust? And could you see
- 11:46Speaker 3: the Rams becoming a player of trading back into the
- 11:49Speaker 3: bottom of the first round to get Ty Simpson as
- 11:51Speaker 3: the ultimate replacement for thirty eight year old Matthew Stafford.
- 11:57Speaker 1: To address the second part first, I could see it.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I mean, you know, it makes sense, right, they don't
- 12:04Speaker 1: really have a backup to Matthew Stafford at this point.
- 12:09Speaker 1: The only hesitancy that I would have in that scenario
- 12:12Speaker 1: is I think now that Sean McVay has a taste
- 12:16Speaker 1: of working with a veteran and that player being able
- 12:19Speaker 1: to process quickly and get through all of his reads
- 12:22Speaker 1: in mcveigh's system, I think there's a comfort in having
- 12:25Speaker 1: a veteran quarterback at that position. That's just kind of
- 12:28Speaker 1: my thought process with the Rams, So like, would they
- 12:30Speaker 1: be inclined to take a rookie quarterback? I don't know,
- 12:35Speaker 1: but they are a team that on paper makes sense,
- 12:37Speaker 1: and I think there's a few teams that make sense
- 12:40Speaker 1: when you really dive into it. The Pittsburgh Steelers, of course,
- 12:43Speaker 1: have been a popular team. The Buccaneers. I mean, they're
- 12:46Speaker 1: entering the final year of Baker Mayfield's contract, so you know,
- 12:50Speaker 1: we've already seen this situation play out once in Mayfield's
- 12:53Speaker 1: career in Cleveland, So you know, could Tampa Bay possibly
- 12:57Speaker 1: be creating an off ramp there. I think they're a
- 12:59Speaker 1: sneaky team to want. But you know, Los Angeles is
- 13:03Speaker 1: always aggressive, So even if it's not trading up in
- 13:06Speaker 1: the back half of the first round, you know, could
- 13:08Speaker 1: they possibly move into the top ten overall to secure
- 13:11Speaker 1: a player of their liking as well. Wide receiver is
- 13:15Speaker 1: a position that I've commonly associated with them. The same
- 13:18Speaker 1: is true of offensive tackle. You know, just because you
- 13:21Speaker 1: had Warren McLennon at the right tackle position, But is
- 13:25Speaker 1: that enough that you would not target your long term
- 13:29Speaker 1: solution at the position. I don't necessarily know. This is
- 13:33Speaker 1: not a position that Los Angeles often finds themselves picking
- 13:36Speaker 1: this early. So I think it's a rare opportunity for
- 13:39Speaker 1: them to, you know, to get a right tackle in
- 13:42Speaker 1: the future, because I think more often than not, the
- 13:46Speaker 1: wide receiver becomes available in trade conversations than the offensive tackle.
- 13:51Speaker 1: So for a team that's aggressive, like the Rams, you
- 13:54Speaker 1: may be able to go out and get a veteran
- 13:57Speaker 1: wide receiver via the trade market, where as those offensive
- 14:01Speaker 1: tackles rarely become available. So that would be part of
- 14:05Speaker 1: my thought process as to which direction they should go.
- 14:08Speaker 1: But I also know that if you're looking for the
- 14:12Speaker 1: players that can make the biggest impact on the Rams
- 14:15Speaker 1: for this upcoming season, which of course they're trying to
- 14:18Speaker 1: maximize their current window, there's no better player than a
- 14:23Speaker 1: wide receiver or a tight end. You know, Kenyan Sadek
- 14:26Speaker 1: could be in the mix for them as well to
- 14:28Speaker 1: make an impact on the roster. For the twenty twenty
- 14:31Speaker 1: sixth season, and I do think that that's their ultimate goal.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Sadiqu the best tight end in the draft from Oregon.
- 14:36Speaker 3: This is Josh Edwards the CBS Sports talking to us
- 14:39Speaker 3: about the NFL Draft first round, and he mocked it
- 14:40Speaker 3: out this morning.
- 14:41Speaker 5: His latest one.
- 14:42Speaker 3: If those of you listening saying, wait a minute, why
- 14:44Speaker 3: the Rams picking thirteenth? That pick was from a trade
- 14:48Speaker 3: from the Atlanta Falcons earlier.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Josh, what pick feels like the biggest reach compared to
- 14:54Speaker 4: consensus rakings and for instance, like Monro Feeling at number twelve,
- 14:59Speaker 4: or is that just the case of scheme fit and
- 15:01Speaker 4: overall rankings or excuse me.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Yeah, Freeling would be the one that I kind of
- 15:08Speaker 1: pinpoint there. There's a wide range of opinions on him
- 15:13Speaker 1: because similar to Tyle Simpson, you know, he's got a
- 15:17Speaker 1: very small sample size in terms of starting at the
- 15:19Speaker 1: left tackle position. He certainly looks the part of an
- 15:23Speaker 1: NFL left tackle. You know, he's tall, he's got the
- 15:25Speaker 1: requisite play strength. He was incredibly athletic and showed that
- 15:29Speaker 1: off the NFL combine. He moves really well. He was
- 15:32Speaker 1: playing his best football at the end of the college
- 15:35Speaker 1: football season, So you're talking yourself into buying the best
- 15:40Speaker 1: version of that player, and the best version of that
- 15:44Speaker 1: player is somebody that could potentially reach an all Pro caliber,
- 15:51Speaker 1: you know type season for your franchise. So if you're
- 15:54Speaker 1: playing the long games, someone like Monroe Freeling, who is
- 15:57Speaker 1: still very young, could be the player that. You know,
- 16:00Speaker 1: a team like the Browns, who maybe takes a more
- 16:03Speaker 1: patient approach to the position, could could possibly go in
- 16:06Speaker 1: the first round. And there's gonna be other teams that
- 16:09Speaker 1: are a little less risk averse, in which case they
- 16:15Speaker 1: would probably steer clear of a player like Freeling, you know,
- 16:18Speaker 1: in case, unless they've already got a veteran in place
- 16:21Speaker 1: like Philadelphia, makes sense if if he were to slip
- 16:24Speaker 1: a little bit to be the heir apparent to you know,
- 16:28Speaker 1: Lane Johnson at right tackle, I could see that being
- 16:30Speaker 1: a situation as well. But he's the one that's kind
- 16:32Speaker 1: of got a wide range of opinions and it's just
- 16:34Speaker 1: a matter of how much do you wait what we've
- 16:39Speaker 1: seen so far versus his potential down the road, And
- 16:43Speaker 1: I think that's why he's kind of one of the
- 16:45Speaker 1: more volatile prospects as we go into Thursday, night.
- 16:49Speaker 3: I have Monroe freeling left tackle Georgia going to the
- 16:52Speaker 3: Browns in fifteen, and they're projected trade down from six
- 16:55Speaker 3: with the Buccaneers. Rob rang Our, guy from Tacoma Fox
- 16:58Speaker 3: sports dot Com says, quote, there isn't a blocker in
- 17:01Speaker 3: this class who looks the part of an NFL left
- 17:03Speaker 3: tackle more than the loose and long six foot seven
- 17:06Speaker 3: three and fifteen pounds freely. Okay, Josh, to put you
- 17:09Speaker 3: on the spot, what was going to what's the surprise?
- 17:12Speaker 3: What's the thing tomorrow that will happen? What's your wild card?
- 17:16Speaker 3: What's the thing that everyone's Friday morning is gonna be saying,
- 17:19Speaker 3: whoa what did.
- 17:19Speaker 2: They do that for?
- 17:23Speaker 5: Yeah? Good question.
- 17:25Speaker 2: You know.
- 17:26Speaker 1: The one that I've stuck with throughout the process, of course,
- 17:29Speaker 1: is that Cowboys trade. But I feel like I've already
- 17:31Speaker 1: used that bullet in the chamber, So let's see one
- 17:35Speaker 1: other scenario is out there. I do think we're going
- 17:39Speaker 1: to see a lot of movement, probably in the teams
- 17:41Speaker 1: and early twenties. As you know, teams make some smaller
- 17:45Speaker 1: marginal moves, uh to get in position. For some players
- 17:49Speaker 1: I did have maybe this counts as a little bit
- 17:52Speaker 1: of a bold prediction, but I had Chris Johnson the
- 17:55Speaker 1: cornerback induce, you know, getting into the top twenty overall.
- 18:01Speaker 1: And he's not a player that's been commonly mocked there,
- 18:04Speaker 1: but you know, he's the beneficiary of Jermad McCoy's reported
- 18:10Speaker 1: degenerative knee. If teams have concerns about that, and he
- 18:14Speaker 1: would have fallen into the second round, somebody has to
- 18:17Speaker 1: fill in that cornerback two gap, and I think Johnson
- 18:20Speaker 1: is a player that checks a lot of the boxes.
- 18:23Speaker 1: You know, him and Coltonhood, I think would be those
- 18:25Speaker 1: next two players that would be behind mansor de Lane
- 18:29Speaker 1: wherever he ends up being taken. So him possibly going
- 18:33Speaker 1: into the top twenty, you know, I could see that
- 18:35Speaker 1: being a scenario and a lot of people being surprised
- 18:37Speaker 1: by it. But he does have a lot of fans
- 18:39Speaker 1: around the NFL.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Chris Johnson, somebody, a lot of Seahawks followers think they
- 18:44Speaker 3: may take him. There's been conflicting reports on under the
- 18:46Speaker 3: Seahawks had a top thirty visit with Chris Johnson of
- 18:48Speaker 3: San Diego State at the cornerback where they did not
- 18:51Speaker 3: I've been told.
- 18:52Speaker 2: They did not.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Josh Edwards CBS Sports. Thank you. We'll let you get
- 18:55Speaker 5: back to your day job.
- 18:56Speaker 3: I appreciate joining me and enjoy the wildness of the draft.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Thank you, sir.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yeah, always a pleasure, guys, Thank you.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Josh Edwards says the Cowboys are going to make the
- 19:07Speaker 3: biggest splash move of the first round, trade wise, moving
- 19:09Speaker 3: up with Cleveland to get the six pick in the draft,
- 19:12Speaker 3: and then going defense. Sunny Styles, the inside linebacker signal
- 19:16Speaker 3: caller from Ohio State. I have them. I have Sunny
- 19:19Speaker 3: Styles going to pick later seven to Washington as dan
- 19:23Speaker 3: Quinn needs to replace Bobby Wagner. Bobby Wagner for those
- 19:26Speaker 3: of you losing track of him, he is currently unsigned.
- 19:29Speaker 3: He'll be thirty eight, and he doesn't have a suitor
- 19:33Speaker 3: at the moment. He's unsigned, and there has been talked
- 19:36Speaker 3: to Washington may re sign him, but of course Washington's
- 19:39Speaker 3: going to see how this draft board falls to them.
- 19:41Speaker 3: It's likely Hall of famer. I don't know if his
- 19:44Speaker 3: five year windows is going to start right now or not, Chris,
- 19:46Speaker 3: but it looks like his time in Washington may be done.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Although they've Washington, dan Quinn will always hold up possibility
- 19:53Speaker 3: if the draft doesn't go this way that they bring
- 19:55Speaker 3: him back.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm with you on that. I think it's pretty click,
- 20:00Speaker 4: clear and dry on that one.
- 20:02Speaker 3: That's off to Bobby Wagner, one of the best to
- 20:04Speaker 3: ever do it, one of the best I've ever covered.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Just a great dude. He's always still on me to
- 20:09Speaker 3: this day about hot yoga and I should be doing it.
- 20:12Speaker 3: And he had a place in Kirkland that he always
- 20:14Speaker 3: went to.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Nice no wonder he's playing for your twenty exactly.
- 20:18Speaker 5: He said that that was a part of his diet.
- 20:20Speaker 3: And hot yoga and stretching was a big reason for
- 20:23Speaker 3: his longevity in his career. I'm next your chance to
- 20:26Speaker 3: be a part of the show. Four nine four five
- 20:28Speaker 3: one the Takoma Dodge text line of a lot of
- 20:30Speaker 3: comments about the kracking. You heard at the top of
- 20:33Speaker 3: the show about Jason Botrow's comment. A lot of you said,
- 20:36Speaker 3: blah blah blah, tired of this, win it or tear
- 20:40Speaker 3: the whole thing down. We're gonna talk about the kracking.
- 20:42Speaker 3: We're talking about your thoughts on the Seahawks draft and
- 20:45Speaker 3: what they should do not do. Are they going to
- 20:47Speaker 3: trade down? Give us your thoughts. We'll read those back
- 20:49Speaker 3: on the Tacoma Dog Tex sign or on the comments
- 20:52Speaker 3: on the YouTube nine three three KJRL YouTube. If you're
- 20:56Speaker 3: wondering why this Christmas tree is behind us, that's Chuck
- 20:58Speaker 3: Powell's Draft Miss tree. My family saw the YouTube clips there.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Why is there Christmas tree up in late April? Chuck
- 21:05Speaker 3: Powell in the morning show host is absolutely into this
- 21:07Speaker 3: Draftmas stuff. It's his thing and that's his tree for Draftmas.
- 21:12Speaker 3: It's got seahawk colored tinsel around it. Here's hands to
- 21:15Speaker 3: be a part of the show next, and then I
- 21:16Speaker 3: in Fornassi joined me on ninety three point three KJRFM.
- 21:20Speaker 6: Now back to Greg Bell and Christopher Kidd on your
- 21:24Speaker 6: Home for the Huskies, Kracket and the twelfth Man Sports
- 21:27Speaker 6: Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Welcome back Greg Bell Christopher Kidd ten AM the noon
- 21:40Speaker 3: every weekday, ninety three point three KJRFM.
- 21:42Speaker 5: You know what the music means.
- 21:43Speaker 3: It's time for you all to be a part of
- 21:45Speaker 3: the show on our Tacoma Dodge Tech sign four nine
- 21:47Speaker 3: four five one.
- 21:49Speaker 4: All right, let's get things rolling with This is from
- 21:54Speaker 4: the two five three Tacoma Pierce County actually two six
- 22:01Speaker 4: What are the odds that if Boston falls to thirty two,
- 22:05Speaker 4: Denzel Boston, the Seahawks take them.
- 22:08Speaker 5: I saw that.
- 22:10Speaker 3: I think Chris that if Denzel Boston, many people don't
- 22:15Speaker 3: think he's going to go in the first round. I
- 22:16Speaker 3: think the Seahawks would say, wait, if I can get
- 22:18Speaker 3: Denzel Boston. Snyder would say, if I can get him
- 22:21Speaker 3: at thirty two, I could probably get him at thirty
- 22:22Speaker 3: four to thirty nine and trade down, and that might
- 22:25Speaker 3: even if the Denzel Boston was their guy, that would
- 22:29Speaker 3: maybe even propel them to me go to even more
- 22:31Speaker 3: trade down into the second round. They can find a
- 22:33Speaker 3: partner again. Ty Simpson, the quarterback from Alabama, would drive
- 22:36Speaker 3: a lot of this. If he's still available at thirty two,
- 22:38Speaker 3: Seahawks could find anybody like at Cleveland perhaps or more
- 22:45Speaker 3: likely like Arizona two at thirty four to move down
- 22:48Speaker 3: and then maybe still get Boston.
- 22:51Speaker 5: I don't see it.
- 22:53Speaker 3: As their first pick. But John Schneider has drafted since
- 22:56Speaker 3: twenty ten, when he took the job. John Schneider's drafted
- 22:59Speaker 3: twenty He won ride receivers in sixteen drafts. It's the
- 23:02Speaker 3: most he's drafted of any position.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Twenty one.
- 23:07Speaker 3: The number two position is defensive end sixteen times. He's
- 23:11Speaker 3: drafted fifteen offensive tackles fourteen guards, fifteen corners, corners third
- 23:18Speaker 3: most then guards. Interesting that it's guards at fourteen. Gray
- 23:23Speaker 3: is able to be in the best one I've gotten yet,
- 23:24Speaker 3: So I don't see it. I think Boston's going to
- 23:27Speaker 3: go twenty three to the Eagles and AJ Brown's gonna
- 23:30Speaker 3: get traded.
- 23:31Speaker 5: We'll see.
- 23:32Speaker 3: But when Denzel Boston isn't the first one to me
- 23:35Speaker 3: that comes to my for the seog about you, Chris, hmmm.
- 23:39Speaker 4: I like it just because I think he adds another
- 23:43Speaker 4: it's another valuable piece. So the odds of it happening
- 23:45Speaker 4: very low. But if he is there, I think the
- 23:48Speaker 4: Seahawks would think about it. Which will they take him?
- 23:51Speaker 4: I don't think so. I think the odds are low,
- 23:54Speaker 4: But if he's there, it'd be like hmmm, jsn Rashichi
- 23:59Speaker 4: he and Denzel Boston.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Upper Cup has two years left on his deal. Some
- 24:03Speaker 3: people think that he may not play beyond this year.
- 24:05Speaker 3: He hasn't indicated that yet.
- 24:07Speaker 4: Yeah, he's out there working out.
- 24:08Speaker 5: He'll be back.
- 24:08Speaker 3: Yeah. By the way, I forgot to give you a
- 24:10Speaker 3: keyword for this hour. One thousand dollars a Grand Slam
- 24:13Speaker 3: cast giveaway go to nine three three KGr dot coment
- 24:15Speaker 3: and other word deposit d eposit. That's a long word
- 24:19Speaker 3: for this contest man that's got like syllables and letters
- 24:22Speaker 3: deposit and of that. Now at nine three to three,
- 24:25Speaker 3: kJ can't spend one thousand dollars.
- 24:29Speaker 4: From the two o six. I have more faith than
- 24:31Speaker 4: the Seahawks to trade down and at worst hit on
- 24:34Speaker 4: eighty percent of their picks in a down draft than
- 24:36Speaker 4: I do that the NBA will approve expansion to Seattle.
- 24:40Speaker 4: The krack and actually improving the team doesn't have much
- 24:44Speaker 4: better odds than the NBA Gohawks.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Yeah, cynicism about the Kraken warranted. Cynicism about the NBA
- 24:53Speaker 3: coming back to Seattle absolutely warranted. It's been since two
- 24:56Speaker 3: thousand and eight. I sat in that courtroom in the
- 24:59Speaker 3: Federal courthouse, done an eighth and olive and covered that trial.
- 25:02Speaker 3: The Seawk Sonics were about to win before the city
- 25:06Speaker 3: caved and gave Clay Bennett what he wanted so they
- 25:08Speaker 3: could get out of the lease and get a check
- 25:10Speaker 3: to pay out the Key Arena lease. But we'll see,
- 25:15Speaker 3: there's going to be another vote apparently an incremental vote,
- 25:19Speaker 3: perhaps a final vote towards expansion and whether they approved
- 25:22Speaker 3: Seattle in Las Vegas in July at the Summer League
- 25:25Speaker 3: in Las Vegas. That's the word on the street about
- 25:28Speaker 3: the NFL vote the NBA, but voting, though the league
- 25:32Speaker 3: may not actually officially announce it and be a done
- 25:34Speaker 3: deal on expansion until the fall. Again, the target date
- 25:38Speaker 3: for starting would be the fall of twenty twenty eight,
- 25:41Speaker 3: so that's a short ramp of two years. That's about
- 25:45Speaker 3: twenty four months. Was about what the Charlotte Bobcats now
- 25:48Speaker 3: Hornets got when the last time the NBA expanded twenty
- 25:51Speaker 3: some years ago.
- 25:53Speaker 4: This isn't a fun one, but I think it's important.
- 25:55Speaker 4: Two six blah bl blah, blah blah, another failed season
- 26:00Speaker 4: game blah, Five seasons, three coaches, one playoff appearance. Seems
- 26:03Speaker 4: to be a front office issue. Do you think they
- 26:06Speaker 4: have two years to get the fans back in gage
- 26:08Speaker 4: before the NBA could potentially drown them all out. So
- 26:12Speaker 4: casual fans that will only show up for a winner
- 26:15Speaker 4: got to figure this out come on cracking.
- 26:18Speaker 3: That's a popular theory around here. Ian Faness and I
- 26:20Speaker 3: have talked about this and then in terms of marketing,
- 26:24Speaker 3: in terms of eyeballs paying attention, they're competing seasons. Of course,
- 26:28Speaker 3: they starting to fall and in in the spring, both
- 26:30Speaker 3: the NBA and the NHL they if the ownership group
- 26:34Speaker 3: of Samantha Halloway and Todd lay Wiki have their way,
- 26:37Speaker 3: they're going to be both owned by the same owners
- 26:40Speaker 3: one roof sports and entertainment, the entity just founded for
- 26:43Speaker 3: the Sonics push, and they would play in the same building.
- 26:47Speaker 3: I think personally there's enough corporate money around the Pacific
- 26:51Speaker 3: Northwest to go around for both teams to those suites
- 26:54Speaker 3: to be full season tickets to be sold, the building
- 26:57Speaker 3: to be sold out for the first few years back
- 26:58Speaker 3: for the Sonics and like it was for the Krack
- 27:01Speaker 3: and now the Krack and that building's been sold out
- 27:03Speaker 3: for the first five years. Chris and a lot of
- 27:05Speaker 3: them are seat licenses for season ticket contracts. A year
- 27:08Speaker 3: over year, those contracts are starting to end and the
- 27:10Speaker 3: team's not win it, you could start seeing some empty
- 27:13Speaker 3: seats and that's going to be really an impetus for
- 27:16Speaker 3: Samantha Halloway and ownership to change things. They said in
- 27:21Speaker 3: the press conference that started at ten am. You heard
- 27:23Speaker 3: live here on ninety three point three KGr. They said
- 27:25Speaker 3: the internal audit tid Laywickie said that has already started.
- 27:29Speaker 3: There has been a consistency in messaging of what they
- 27:31Speaker 3: want to do. Jason Barrow, the general manager, says that
- 27:34Speaker 3: he wants to fix the offense, specifically special team's power play.
- 27:38Speaker 3: That schematically the team needs to spend less time in
- 27:41Speaker 3: the neutral zone and more attacking time in the attack zone.
- 27:45Speaker 5: That would help.
- 27:46Speaker 3: And Jason Barrow's quote was I'm with our players, disappointed
- 27:50Speaker 3: players in the exit interviews for missing the playoffs for
- 27:52Speaker 3: the fourth time in five years. There's some big contracts
- 27:55Speaker 3: of thirty plus year old veterans, the players that could
- 27:59Speaker 3: be on the way out. But I get it. Kracking
- 28:03Speaker 3: four to two five says the crack and presser was
- 28:04Speaker 3: a big nothing. Berger offered no new insights whatsoever. Actions
- 28:07Speaker 3: speak louder than words anyway, So let's just see what
- 28:10Speaker 3: they actually do to improve the talent on the ice.
- 28:14Speaker 5: It's starting to get it.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Maybe somewhat difficult to attract a veteran free agent, a
- 28:18Speaker 3: Brandon Montur type or Chandler Stevenson to Seattle when you
- 28:22Speaker 3: haven't won yet. Yeah, they have a really nice building.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Yeah we have a beautiful city. Yeah we have mountains
- 28:27Speaker 3: and ocean, but we also have rain and losses in
- 28:31Speaker 3: the winter and no playoff berths to an NFL player,
- 28:35Speaker 3: that speaks louder than all the other stuff we can
- 28:37Speaker 3: offer so far. Anyway, three six zero Mariners have five
- 28:44Speaker 3: players sitting under the Windoza line, which is two hundred
- 28:46Speaker 3: and that's not early anymore. Twenty five games in. The
- 28:49Speaker 3: Mariners have a one to ten series in homestad finale
- 28:52Speaker 3: today against the Athletics. They're ten and fifteen after losing
- 28:55Speaker 3: the first two games of the series against the A's
- 28:58Speaker 3: up next, the Mayor and Maple ve is out at
- 29:00Speaker 3: Northgate at the ice Plecks. From having the press conference
- 29:03Speaker 3: with Jason Botrow, he joins us next on ninety three
- 29:05Speaker 3: point three kJ RFM. That happy Friends music means it's
- 29:15Speaker 3: time to join our friend the Mayor Maple Valley I Infernez,
- 29:18Speaker 3: who today is out of the krak and King County
- 29:20Speaker 3: ice Plecks at Northgate. From Jason Botta and toddlay Wickie's
- 29:23Speaker 3: press conference with the media, off the text line I've
- 29:28Speaker 3: got something I'm going to ask you Ian.
- 29:30Speaker 7: Hey, I got something for you real fast. I'm sitting
- 29:32Speaker 7: here with the great crew at King Television. All right, Chris,
- 29:38Speaker 7: Now we upgraded from Sylvie the Egan Breeze here instead,
- 29:42Speaker 7: so and she's awesome most of the time, but she.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Works on Brea.
- 29:46Speaker 7: We're talking, We're talking about this all of a sudden,
- 29:48Speaker 7: Bent and chiming in about Dix versus in and out.
- 29:50Speaker 7: The old age is like it just never ends, Greg Bell,
- 29:53Speaker 7: where do you weigh in? Dix are in and out?
- 29:58Speaker 5: In and out?
- 30:00Speaker 2: Well, you go do cross talk by yourself.
- 30:02Speaker 4: I knew, I knew that would be a popular and
- 30:04Speaker 4: I know I know the seat I sit in.
- 30:06Speaker 5: The President's that's set too. That's part of the reason.
- 30:09Speaker 5: But no, I've just had it more.
- 30:11Speaker 2: I know my guy Tate's the only smart one here. Man.
- 30:13Speaker 7: I'll tell you right now, I've got I've lost all
- 30:15Speaker 7: faith in Brie and Bent and I never read faith
- 30:16Speaker 7: in you anyway.
- 30:17Speaker 2: So and great, you just disappoint me, Captain.
- 30:20Speaker 3: That's like my brothers lived in Huntington Beach, California for
- 30:24Speaker 3: about forty years. So I've gone way back with the
- 30:26Speaker 3: way back.
- 30:28Speaker 2: All right, you had you had a sports question. I'm sorry.
- 30:30Speaker 2: I interrupted.
- 30:31Speaker 5: No, that was This is a great conversation. I can
- 30:33Speaker 5: see what you do.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Has anybody ever had the French fries at.
- 30:38Speaker 3: I didn't say about the fries, about the burgers. The fries,
- 30:40Speaker 3: no burgers.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Bring Egan back.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Next time, I will say the Dicks cheeseburger, not the
- 30:46Speaker 3: double double, or you put double doubles.
- 30:49Speaker 5: Versus the deluxe. That's more of an even fight.
- 30:52Speaker 3: If you just buy it straight cheeseburger at Dick's. It's
- 30:55Speaker 3: like it got run over by Oh stop it. It's
- 30:58Speaker 3: sog and small and.
- 31:00Speaker 2: All right, you need you're probably a white Castle in Pennsylvania.
- 31:03Speaker 3: White Castle. Now there you go. Now you're talking my
- 31:05Speaker 3: Midwest roots. Yeah, twenty four hours white Castle. You can
- 31:09Speaker 3: buy them in the Safeway frizing foods.
- 31:11Speaker 5: Don't eat those.
- 31:12Speaker 2: White Castle probably do well here because it's marijuana is legal.
- 31:16Speaker 3: True, if you go to White Castle before two am,
- 31:19Speaker 3: you're doing it wrong.
- 31:20Speaker 5: I just shouldn't.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Oh god, all right, what was your only question.
- 31:24Speaker 3: For two to five? Ask on the text line. Yes,
- 31:27Speaker 3: my five year season ticket contract ended. I was paying
- 31:30Speaker 3: four hundred dollars per seat. It's to cracking. There are
- 31:33Speaker 3: no casual fans spending one thousand dollars per game for tickets, parking,
- 31:36Speaker 3: and food. More likely, one roof sports and entertainment was
- 31:40Speaker 3: put in place to prevent another group from coming in
- 31:43Speaker 3: and undercutting the Crack and price strategy for the NBA
- 31:46Speaker 3: team MBA only expanding for quote stupid money like two
- 31:50Speaker 3: times what Portland just sold for not happening. Do you
- 31:54Speaker 3: see when you're out of the Cracking games, Ian, and
- 31:56Speaker 3: I know you work for them, Yeah, so you probably
- 32:00Speaker 3: have to tow it a little bit.
- 32:01Speaker 2: I'll be honest with you.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Go ahead, Do you sense that season ticket holders feel
- 32:05Speaker 3: gouged and may not re up and that could be
- 32:08Speaker 3: an issue for the Crack in the next couple.
- 32:10Speaker 7: Of years complicated because of this. I think one they
- 32:15Speaker 7: saw they kind of got ahead of that last year
- 32:17Speaker 7: when they lowered prices for season tickets and then they
- 32:20Speaker 7: added the whole They had a pretty significant discount for
- 32:23Speaker 7: food and beverage for season ticket holders last year this
- 32:26Speaker 7: past season that they put in place, and I think
- 32:28Speaker 7: they're still looking at doing some of those same things
- 32:30Speaker 7: moving ahead. So they've been in front of it. They
- 32:32Speaker 7: understand what the market is. I think the one thing
- 32:34Speaker 7: that the Cracking are very good at is understand what
- 32:38Speaker 7: the market is and what it would bear. So you know,
- 32:42Speaker 7: I've always been impressed by the crowds. There were a
- 32:46Speaker 7: couple of games where you look up and you say, okay,
- 32:48Speaker 7: well upper reaches kind of behind the press box with
- 32:51Speaker 7: like the last seats to go and probably the least
- 32:53Speaker 7: desirable seats. And there's times there's all there's some empty
- 32:56Speaker 7: seats up there, but by and large, sometimes you see
- 32:58Speaker 7: empty sets lower bowl. Those are all all corporate seats
- 33:00Speaker 7: paid for, so I didn't worry about that. I think
- 33:02Speaker 7: their attendancy. You look around at any sporting event, NBA NHL.
- 33:06Speaker 7: I think our building in terms of true capacity, not
- 33:09Speaker 7: just tickets sold, but true capacity on a given night
- 33:11Speaker 7: was at the top of the league. But they understand
- 33:13Speaker 7: what the market is. They understand you've got to win.
- 33:16Speaker 7: As far as the undercutting for NBA prices, if anybody,
- 33:20Speaker 7: if anybody thinks for a second, then an NBA ticket
- 33:23Speaker 7: is going to be less expensive than an NHL ticket.
- 33:26Speaker 7: I've look, I got an island to sell you in
- 33:28Speaker 7: the wheat fields of the Polue because it ain't gonna happen.
- 33:32Speaker 7: You want to see sticker shock. I think Greg you
- 33:35Speaker 7: understand the world better than most. Right, you want to
- 33:38Speaker 7: see sticker shock, you wait until that happens. Yep, it's
- 33:41Speaker 7: going to be obscene for what. Frankly, if you want
- 33:44Speaker 7: to just go for the eighty two game regular season,
- 33:48Speaker 7: and yeah, I'm a hockey guy, I get it. But
- 33:51Speaker 7: if you want to just go on the value and
- 33:53Speaker 7: the actual product on a game in game out eighty
- 33:56Speaker 7: two games, the NHL is far superior to the NBA,
- 33:58Speaker 7: and the NBA is regular season as a joke, and uh,
- 34:02Speaker 7: but you're gonna be paying top dollar for that, and
- 34:04Speaker 7: that's great.
- 34:04Speaker 2: We all hope the songs come back.
- 34:06Speaker 7: I hope as much as anybody, But I don't think
- 34:08Speaker 7: they're trying to undercut us a price.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Now.
- 34:11Speaker 7: They put themselves in a position, did Sam where if
- 34:15Speaker 7: there was another group that came in, and I mean,
- 34:18Speaker 7: I don't know, outbid them so to speak, they would
- 34:21Speaker 7: have to sign a lease and work through her because
- 34:24Speaker 7: she controls fifty she controls a building, right, so it
- 34:27Speaker 7: would be really one of the dumbest business moves.
- 34:29Speaker 5: Ever, huge advantage for them.
- 34:31Speaker 7: Yeah, I just either don't know why it would not
- 34:33Speaker 7: pencil out, unless again, you want an owner to come
- 34:36Speaker 7: in and be like Tom Condon down in Portland and
- 34:38Speaker 7: be ultra cheap and cut costs elsewhere. Right, So I
- 34:42Speaker 7: don't I think that's kind of a The NBA is
- 34:44Speaker 7: gonna come here, it's gonna be this group led by
- 34:48Speaker 7: Sam Holloway and others. Obviously she's not going to be
- 34:51Speaker 7: the you know, ninety percent owner or anything like that.
- 34:54Speaker 7: I guess she'll have the fifteen percent required to be
- 34:57Speaker 7: the majority owner and then other money being invested. And again,
- 35:01Speaker 7: unless you're blindly naive, uh, you probably understand that that
- 35:05Speaker 7: stuff is well well down the road.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Uh. At this point I knew you'd have a more intelligent,
- 35:10Speaker 3: informed answer than I would. That's why I read the TECHNT.
- 35:13Speaker 7: I get it and listen. Now, if you want to
- 35:16Speaker 7: ask the question, you know the question has been asked.
- 35:18Speaker 7: If you ask a question of Okay, well do I
- 35:21Speaker 7: think uh, Pharrell or or one of the one of
- 35:25Speaker 7: the Farrell or Caulkins wrote about, Hey, do you trust
- 35:29Speaker 7: this organization, this ownership group, to make the right decisions
- 35:32Speaker 7: with the NBA in terms of who they hired to
- 35:34Speaker 7: run you know, basketball operations, being as the crack and
- 35:37Speaker 7: have missed the playoffs four or five years. Listen, that's
- 35:40Speaker 7: a fair question. That's a fair question, right, I mean,
- 35:43Speaker 7: it's do you know are they going to hire the
- 35:45Speaker 7: right people? And but that's the same question that every
- 35:48Speaker 7: ownership group, for every team and every professional sport has, right,
- 35:51Speaker 7: you know. And as great as the Seahawks have been
- 35:53Speaker 7: over the years, they've made mistakes. Jim Mora, Right, They've
- 35:59Speaker 7: they've made mistakes along the ways I mean, and that
- 36:02Speaker 7: that does happen.
- 36:03Speaker 3: So what do you have from the Ice Blecks today?
- 36:06Speaker 7: Well, we're gonna talk to bots. Jason bottroo is gonna
- 36:08Speaker 7: join us ye the news conference on New Carrey and
- 36:10Speaker 7: chunk of it to start the show. We'll kind of
- 36:11Speaker 7: go a little deep with him. Coming up at one
- 36:13Speaker 7: twenty today, Steve Palozolo thirty thirteen checked the Mike Podcast.
- 36:18Speaker 2: We'll on Draft.
- 36:19Speaker 7: Eve will jump knee deep into the NFL Draft coming
- 36:22Speaker 7: up today at twelve, we'll kind of look more at
- 36:25Speaker 7: the first round because I'll be honest with you, I
- 36:28Speaker 7: have been remissing that I really haven't been as interested
- 36:32Speaker 7: in the first round as I am normally because well,
- 36:34Speaker 7: the team that we worry about, cover and talk about
- 36:36Speaker 7: doesn't pick till the thirty second picking. The GM just
- 36:39Speaker 7: came out and said, we're gonna do everything we can
- 36:40Speaker 7: to trade that pick, but we'll talk about the rest
- 36:42Speaker 7: of the first round. So I know there's a lot
- 36:43Speaker 7: of NFL fans, so we'll do that with Palazzolo and
- 36:46Speaker 7: also sit down with Bobby McMahon. Is I gonna stay
- 36:50Speaker 7: here in Seattle. We'll do that in the two o'clock hour.
- 36:53Speaker 7: So h yeah, lot's coming up today.
