- 0:06Speaker 1: It's often said that the people of Utah speak a
- 0:09Speaker 1: language all their own. It's a language that's often confusing
- 0:13Speaker 1: and even incomprehensible to newcomers here in the Beehive State.
- 0:17Speaker 1: So Radio from Hell presents a handi guide to help
- 0:20Speaker 1: everyone understand how the natives speak. It's the Utah word
- 0:24Speaker 1: of the day, and today's word is.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I'm sure we'll hear many words during today's edition of
- 0:31Speaker 2: Mona Community Notes. In order to keep our license, we
- 0:35Speaker 2: have to highlight local communities and what's going on. They're
- 0:38Speaker 2: give them free airtime basically to advertise things that are
- 0:41Speaker 2: happening in their community. And today we have former Mayor
- 0:45Speaker 2: of Mona, Utah, Don Krittle, and he's brought his son
- 0:49Speaker 2: Denver with him.
- 0:50Speaker 3: I think, well, you know, ma'am, first of all, it
- 0:52Speaker 3: is you're telling people that they will hear many words.
- 0:56Speaker 3: But that's presuming that I'm going to speak.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Well, don't shrere what you mean, daddy.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Well, if we don't say anything, then we won't have
- 1:07Speaker 3: many words. But we're here to talk with all right.
- 1:10Speaker 3: I Mean what we're here to talk about is the
- 1:13Speaker 3: big Easter celebrations that are happening at Mona City.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Oh, I love Easter, Daddy.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I know you do. I know you do.
- 1:20Speaker 4: I'm so good at hiding East eggs.
- 1:22Speaker 3: What is your favorite part about Easter? Denver?
- 1:25Speaker 5: Well, I like hiding the East eggs. I'm so good
- 1:27Speaker 5: at it because you know I've been keeping track. There
- 1:30Speaker 5: are eggs in our house that you haven't found yet. Well,
- 1:33Speaker 5: they've been there for five years now.
- 1:35Speaker 3: I know that, Denver. I can smell them, I just
- 1:37Speaker 3: can't find them. But Denver, that's the reason that you
- 1:40Speaker 3: are not no longer allowed to participate in the Mona
- 1:43Speaker 3: City Easter egg hunt because you would help the team
- 1:47Speaker 3: hide the eggs and then you would turn around and
- 1:50Speaker 3: go find them all for yourself, and that just wasn't fair.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Well then I got all the eggs, yes, yes, but
- 1:56Speaker 3: but you cheated, and I've tried to tell you, boy
- 1:58Speaker 3: that it is not fair over things like that.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Well, Daddy, I'm looking at the flyer for the Mona
- 2:03Speaker 5: City East of celebration.
- 2:05Speaker 3: And didn't Fern Watkins do a nice job on that.
- 2:08Speaker 5: As always though? Really, even though it's a I uh,
- 2:11Speaker 5: Fern did a good job.
- 2:13Speaker 3: You know, because now because I am the former mayor, yes,
- 2:15Speaker 3: I'm sort of the honorary chairman of these events that
- 2:19Speaker 3: are going on.
- 2:19Speaker 4: You'd still be mayor if it wasn't for mail in voting.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Daddy, let's not get into that. Let's not turn the
- 2:25Speaker 3: let's not turn this lovely political or this lovely easter
- 2:28Speaker 3: season into a political season. Let's just do that for Jesus.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Okay, okay, Now I have a question.
- 2:36Speaker 5: Friday April third, you know flashlight hunt?
- 2:42Speaker 4: Yes, are we hunting for flashlights?
- 2:44Speaker 3: You have to bring your own flashlight and you're looking
- 2:47Speaker 3: for flashlights, so then you would have two flashlights.
- 2:51Speaker 5: I have to go down to the hardware store and
- 2:53Speaker 5: get a flashlight one to hide.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Well, they'll already be hidden. If you come and hunt,
- 2:59Speaker 3: you come and hunt for flashlight then Saturday, bring your
- 3:01Speaker 3: own flashlights.
- 3:02Speaker 5: Saturday April fourth, Yeah, kids hunt, Yes, we hunting for
- 3:06Speaker 5: Do I get a kid and hide him?
- 3:08Speaker 3: There will be kids hiding and you try to find
- 3:11Speaker 3: them at at nine am, you try to find them.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Yep, and spring bingo.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Well, we we're that's canceled.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Canceled.
- 3:20Speaker 3: The I've been practicing it got back to Governor Cox,
- 3:24Speaker 3: and that's gambling. And when he said we can't do it.
- 3:26Speaker 4: I've been practicing to be the caller though. Well that's
- 3:29Speaker 4: all right, Watch all right, listen. B nine B.
- 3:35Speaker 5: Nine The non cancerous tumor of Bingo. BE nine, How
- 3:42Speaker 5: did I do?
- 3:42Speaker 3: You're gonna do? Beat B twelve? You want to do?
- 3:44Speaker 3: Beat twelfth?
- 3:45Speaker 4: B twelve.
- 3:47Speaker 5: The Essential Vitamin of Bingo, beat B seventeen.
- 3:52Speaker 4: B seventeen The Flying Fortress of Bingo.
- 3:57Speaker 3: There you go. You're doing a wonderful job. But Governor
- 4:00Speaker 3: Cox says, we can all do it. It is gambling
- 4:03Speaker 3: and we can't all do it. Now. I know you're
- 4:05Speaker 3: excited about the Color and Contest.
- 4:07Speaker 4: I love the Color and Contest because I have my
- 4:09Speaker 4: own crayon.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I know. But Denver, you cannot enter the Color and
- 4:14Speaker 3: Contest for two reasons.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Why.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Number one reason, because I'm the judge. And number two reason,
- 4:22Speaker 3: I have a couple of your old color and books here. Yes,
- 4:26Speaker 3: first your Easter Bunny color and book. Yes, you have
- 4:30Speaker 3: to learn to stay inside the lines when you color.
- 4:34Speaker 3: You can't just take a crian. You can't just take
- 4:37Speaker 3: a crean and just scribble it all over and then
- 4:39Speaker 3: go to the next page.
- 4:40Speaker 4: I thought, that's what a color and contest.
- 4:44Speaker 3: And then I have your other color and book here,
- 4:46Speaker 3: it's the Easter He's Risen color and book.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Oh I like that one.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't believe that the Lord, our Savior is
- 4:54Speaker 3: that color. I don't believe you've colored him in a
- 4:57Speaker 3: you have colored him in a color you should just
- 5:00Speaker 3: be white.
- 5:01Speaker 4: I don't.
- 5:02Speaker 5: But Daddy, he's from that part of the country where
- 5:06Speaker 5: he's not what you're saying.
- 5:07Speaker 4: He's from the Deep South. He's not from the deep Well,
- 5:10Speaker 4: now I got a question, is wife, I got a
- 5:13Speaker 4: question for you, Daddy.
- 5:15Speaker 5: I was at the General Store and they had set
- 5:19Speaker 5: up Cadbury Holiday Eggs a big display and their chocolate eggs,
- 5:25Speaker 5: but it said holiday eggs. And Hazel Taylor came in
- 5:29Speaker 5: and she was very upset because it said holiday eggs
- 5:33Speaker 5: instead of Easter eggs.
- 5:37Speaker 4: She was very upset, and.
- 5:38Speaker 5: She said, I'm not buying anything from Cadbury or in
- 5:41Speaker 5: this store ever again.
- 5:43Speaker 3: We're gonna talk. I'll talk to them about that because
- 5:45Speaker 3: it's true. That's that's just too that's just too woke
- 5:48Speaker 3: for us.
- 5:49Speaker 5: But then mister Oldroyd, who runs the store, he said, Hazel,
- 5:54Speaker 5: I challenge you to find anywhere in the Bible about chocolate,
- 5:57Speaker 5: eggs and bunnies.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Well, it's in the law lost portions of the Bible,
- 6:01Speaker 3: the lost portions of the Dead Sea scrolls that are
- 6:04Speaker 3: still missing. It's all about Eastern chocolate and stuff.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Well, I better go get my flashlight and find those
- 6:11Speaker 5: lost scrolls and show them to Hazel Taylor.
- 6:13Speaker 4: She's very upset and happiness to everybody
- 6:16Speaker 1: Join us again some other time as we examine how
- 6:20Speaker 1: the Utah natives speak with the Utah Word of the day,
