- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hockrel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:24Speaker 1: the Hockrel Energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:27Speaker 1: Happy Wednesday. I'm really excited about today's episode because I
- 0:33Speaker 1: don't know if you guys have been looking at my
- 0:35Speaker 1: social media, but your girl has been making some changes.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I don't know what has been in the air, but
- 0:42Speaker 1: I think spring and just also the mindset of going
- 0:45Speaker 1: into summer next month. Essentially, I see May as summer
- 0:48Speaker 1: in my opinion. But I've just been like seeking change
- 0:52Speaker 1: when it comes to so many things, and I thought
- 0:55Speaker 1: in this episode we could really just talk about changes
- 0:58Speaker 1: and small changes that you could do going into a
- 1:01Speaker 1: new season. And one little update that we did this
- 1:05Speaker 1: past weekend that has been something that I've been wanting
- 1:08Speaker 1: to change for so long was my bedroom. And I
- 1:12Speaker 1: think I probably talked about this either in a YouTube
- 1:14Speaker 1: blog or a few podcasts episodes back, but definitely have
- 1:19Speaker 1: been seeking some change in certain areas in my home.
- 1:21Speaker 1: My main floor. I have no issues with like, my
- 1:24Speaker 1: living area is perfect, my kitchen's perfect, My dining room
- 1:29Speaker 1: I would like to get a new dining table for
- 1:31Speaker 1: my podcast room is in the works. Obviously, we're just
- 1:34Speaker 1: waiting for the two chairs to come in and then
- 1:37Speaker 1: our bedroom. So the bedroom was probably the biggest thing
- 1:39Speaker 1: that I just wasn't in love with. And I don't
- 1:42Speaker 1: know why. I just felt like there was something that
- 1:45Speaker 1: was missing or just something that had to change. And
- 1:49Speaker 1: I think what I've realized is that as I age,
- 1:52Speaker 1: I feel like I have different design choices or just
- 1:55Speaker 1: a different esthetic in general when it comes to home decor.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I feel like the more I'm on Pinterest and the
- 2:01Speaker 1: more I see like different styles of course, like kind
- 2:03Speaker 1: of like fashion, like we evolve and we like change
- 2:06Speaker 1: different things when it comes to our clothing, and I
- 2:08Speaker 1: feel like as we get older, there's certain things that
- 2:10Speaker 1: we prefer. Like I would say, for me, if I
- 2:13Speaker 1: look at myself like five years ago when it comes
- 2:15Speaker 1: to fashion, for an example, I feel like I was
- 2:17Speaker 1: so into crop tops and like showing off my stomach
- 2:20Speaker 1: and all that, and now I feel like I'm more
- 2:24Speaker 1: like wanting to be modest, where I wear longer tank
- 2:27Speaker 1: tops and you know, I want to wear just like
- 2:31Speaker 1: long sleeves, and I love the look of long sleeve dresses,
- 2:34Speaker 1: Like I like that modest look. Obviously, occasionally it's nice to, like,
- 2:38Speaker 1: you know, wear a crop top moment or if you're
- 2:40Speaker 1: going out and you just like want to look really
- 2:42Speaker 1: put together. I totally hear that. But I used to
- 2:45Speaker 1: be a crop top girly every single summer. That's all
- 2:48Speaker 1: I would wear all day, every day, and I feel
- 2:50Speaker 1: like lately that's just not the case for me. I
- 2:52Speaker 1: feel like I'm always going towards just that more covered
- 2:57Speaker 1: up look where it's you know, I love wearing jeans.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I love the capri look as I talked about in
- 3:01Speaker 1: the last episode. Just like fitted tank tops, fitted tops
- 3:05Speaker 1: in general, I just find it looks more she of course,
- 3:08Speaker 1: when it comes to like sports brawls and all that
- 3:09Speaker 1: and plates, I feel like that's a different story because
- 3:12Speaker 1: you're in a workout class. It's not fashion. It's not
- 3:14Speaker 1: a runway in my opinion, even though I like to
- 3:17Speaker 1: look fashionable when it comes to my workout sets, but
- 3:20Speaker 1: when we're talking like outfits that I want to wear
- 3:22Speaker 1: on a daily basis, I don't want to wear crop top,
- 3:25Speaker 1: like I want to wear something that's just a bit
- 3:26Speaker 1: more chic, so to put it in the grand scheme
- 3:29Speaker 1: of things. When it came to the design of our bedroom,
- 3:32Speaker 1: I was always drawn to white and beige and cream,
- 3:36Speaker 1: as you guys can probably tell by that, and lately
- 3:39Speaker 1: I just have had this shift of wanting to go
- 3:42Speaker 1: more for that darker, earthy tone. So I recently just
- 3:46Speaker 1: ordered new bedding. I ordered dark brown betting, which I
- 3:49Speaker 1: feel like is so different for me and out of
- 3:51Speaker 1: my comfort zone. But I think that's the whole point
- 3:54Speaker 1: is I want it to be very different, and I
- 3:56Speaker 1: love how we're going into summer and I'm going for
- 3:59Speaker 1: a fall color, but I just love how it's still
- 4:02Speaker 1: a neutral color. And I've mentioned it I think in
- 4:05Speaker 1: the past that brown has been one of my favorite
- 4:07Speaker 1: colors lately, and I just think it's so beautiful. So
- 4:11Speaker 1: that's one thing I did. I ordered some new bedding.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I also ordered some wall sconces, and I've been trying
- 4:16Speaker 1: to figure out my bedroom layout in terms of how
- 4:18Speaker 1: I want the bedroom to look, since I want to
- 4:20Speaker 1: seek some change and see a bit of a difference
- 4:22Speaker 1: in our room. And we did flip the furniture this
- 4:25Speaker 1: weekend and we just basically reversed everything, so everything that
- 4:28Speaker 1: was on the previous wall we put on the wall
- 4:31Speaker 1: across from it. But today I had this urge of
- 4:37Speaker 1: doing everything myself, like moving all the furniture around again,
- 4:41Speaker 1: but except not in the before spot that it was originally,
- 4:44Speaker 1: but in a different spot. So I thought of something.
- 4:47Speaker 1: This morning. I woke up and I was on Pinterest
- 4:49Speaker 1: again and I found this one image and it was
- 4:51Speaker 1: the same bedframe that we have, and similar nightstands and
- 4:56Speaker 1: kind of a similar layout to our bedroom. And their
- 4:58Speaker 1: bed was against the window, which I never thought about doing.
- 5:02Speaker 1: But when I thought about it, I'm like, growing up,
- 5:05Speaker 1: my parents did that in the guest bedroom. They did
- 5:08Speaker 1: that in their master one time, and I'm like, okay,
- 5:10Speaker 1: so this is a thing. And if you guys saw,
- 5:13Speaker 1: you know. Obviously I enjoy having Zach's help when it
- 5:16Speaker 1: comes to moving furniture around, but the last thing I
- 5:18Speaker 1: wanted to do was to tell them to change the
- 5:21Speaker 1: furniture again. So for some reason today I just said,
- 5:24Speaker 1: fuck it, I'm going to do it myself. And I
- 5:27Speaker 1: don't know how this energy came to be, and I
- 5:29Speaker 1: don't know how this strength was there, but I moved
- 5:33Speaker 1: everything in our bedroom, and I'm so proud of myself
- 5:35Speaker 1: because I don't think I realized how strong I actually
- 5:38Speaker 1: was until I moved everything myself. And you guys will
- 5:42Speaker 1: see in the videos that I post this week of
- 5:45Speaker 1: just this whole process of changing our room up. But
- 5:48Speaker 1: I think this layout looks so good. I'm actually currently
- 5:51Speaker 1: sitting at it now because I didn't want to record
- 5:53Speaker 1: the podcast in my podcast studio just because I love
- 5:56Speaker 1: how our bedroom looks right now and I just wanted
- 5:58Speaker 1: to come sit in the view while talking to you guys.
- 6:01Speaker 1: So anyways, definitely follow along if you guys want to
- 6:04Speaker 1: see the bedroom journey. But I just love Home to
- 6:07Speaker 1: Course so much and I'm always just feeling so inspired.
- 6:11Speaker 1: And as I said going into this episode, I really
- 6:13Speaker 1: want to talk about small changes that you can do,
- 6:15Speaker 1: and I think this is a prime example of doing
- 6:18Speaker 1: small little changes that you know, don't require any money
- 6:21Speaker 1: or anything like that, and it just kind of like
- 6:24Speaker 1: reinspires you to get in like a better mood. And yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 1: for me, I just felt like, you know, I wasn't
- 6:30Speaker 1: overly obsessed with how our bedroom was before, and don't
- 6:32Speaker 1: get me wrong. I loved it when I first moved in,
- 6:35Speaker 1: but we've been here for three years now and I
- 6:37Speaker 1: was just like, you know what, I kind of want
- 6:38Speaker 1: something that's a bit different, that's going to make me
- 6:41Speaker 1: feel more comfortable coming into a room, more inspired, Like
- 6:45Speaker 1: having a new setup feels new, right, feels good, it
- 6:49Speaker 1: feels motivational. Like there's so many things you can say
- 6:51Speaker 1: about small changes, and yeah, so just flipping our bedroom around,
- 6:55Speaker 1: and I'm going to invest in little things, but it's
- 6:58Speaker 1: not necessary. So if you're the kind of person that's
- 7:00Speaker 1: seeking a small change and looking to do something a
- 7:03Speaker 1: bit different. Or for an example, my sister, she you know,
- 7:07Speaker 1: has been wanting to move out, but financially she hasn't
- 7:09Speaker 1: saved enough money to do so. So I said to her,
- 7:12Speaker 1: in order to do a small change for yourself, either
- 7:15Speaker 1: change your bedroom furniture around in your room or change bedrooms.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Because she's still living at my parents' place, and my
- 7:20Speaker 1: parents have two additional rooms that are guest bedrooms. It's
- 7:24Speaker 1: a four bedroom house, and obviously because I don't live
- 7:26Speaker 1: there anymore, they have the extra space to do so,
- 7:30Speaker 1: so Madison switched from her bedroom to my bedroom. So
- 7:33Speaker 1: my old one, and she put her furniture in there,
- 7:36Speaker 1: laid it all out, and it literally looks like a
- 7:38Speaker 1: brand new room and she's obsessed with it, and I
- 7:41Speaker 1: feel like her mood has been so much better, and
- 7:44Speaker 1: just she feels like it's new, right. It's just that
- 7:47Speaker 1: small change that really just motivates herself and feels good
- 7:51Speaker 1: going into that space. It's her comfort space all that.
- 7:54Speaker 1: So those are just some changes that I'm currently doing
- 7:56Speaker 1: that I feel like has really helped my mood, and
- 7:59Speaker 1: just things that I'm doing to go into a new
- 8:02Speaker 1: season as like a fresh start. And another thing we
- 8:05Speaker 1: talked about in a previous episode is talking about new
- 8:09Speaker 1: workouts because once again, I have been seeking some change
- 8:14Speaker 1: when it comes to my routine, and I think it's
- 8:16Speaker 1: important to do that ever so often. So you know,
- 8:20Speaker 1: after you're in a routine for like like four to
- 8:22Speaker 1: six months, I would say you kind of are seeking change.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I would say when you're in a good routine for
- 8:27Speaker 1: like four to six months, I think there's a point
- 8:30Speaker 1: where you feel like things are getting a bit repetitive,
- 8:33Speaker 1: and you might also just be seeking change because of
- 8:35Speaker 1: going into a new season. So you know, the weather's
- 8:37Speaker 1: getting warmer, and for me, I'm like, oh, I'm just
- 8:40Speaker 1: craving like heated mat Pilate's Like, I'm just like craving
- 8:43Speaker 1: that kind of workout. So i joined a studio that
- 8:46Speaker 1: provides that, and I've been loving the what it's in
- 8:49Speaker 1: Fred's Sauna, which I highly highly recommend finding in your
- 8:53Speaker 1: area because there's so many benefits to Infred Sauna. But
- 8:56Speaker 1: maybe we'll get into that topic in a bit. But anyways,
- 8:58Speaker 1: I've just been seeking change because of course I love
- 9:02Speaker 1: reformer pilates and I don't want to stop doing it,
- 9:04Speaker 1: but I want to create a new balance in my
- 9:07Speaker 1: routine when it comes to strength, when it comes to
- 9:09Speaker 1: a cardio, when it comes to maybe the hot matt
- 9:12Speaker 1: room all that. So I've been trying to break it
- 9:14Speaker 1: down where it's like three to four reformer classes a week,
- 9:17Speaker 1: two mat pilates, and then one to two spin COO
- 9:19Speaker 1: classes and then trying to walk every single day. That
- 9:22Speaker 1: alone sounds like a full time job, but anyways, that's
- 9:24Speaker 1: just something that works for me, moving my body every
- 9:26Speaker 1: single day. And yesterday I ended up doing two workouts
- 9:30Speaker 1: in one day, and that was a lot, but I
- 9:32Speaker 1: wanted to just see and test it out for my
- 9:35Speaker 1: own self, just to see if I could actually get
- 9:38Speaker 1: through two workouts and be physically okay, and of course
- 9:42Speaker 1: I was. It definitely made me feel really exhausted by
- 9:46Speaker 1: the afternoon, which isn't the ideal situation when we all
- 9:49Speaker 1: have a job and we have to get work done.
- 9:51Speaker 1: So for me, I don't think I'll probably do that again.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I did Reformer in the morning and then I did
- 9:57Speaker 1: a hot matted pilates in the afternoon. I got lunchtime,
- 10:01Speaker 1: just an express class. And it's not like I'll never
- 10:04Speaker 1: do it again. Maybe that's something that I just do
- 10:06Speaker 1: once in a while. But it definitely was a really
- 10:09Speaker 1: good workout day, let's just say that. And I felt good.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I just felt really sore, like in the afternoon tired,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and then this morning going into a workout class, I
- 10:19Speaker 1: was feeling pretty sore just from I feel like overworking
- 10:22Speaker 1: myself a bit. So Yeah, but let's talk about some
- 10:25Speaker 1: changes that you can incorporate into your lifestyle, some small
- 10:29Speaker 1: changes just going into a new season. So we talked
- 10:33Speaker 1: about how small changes can boost your mood. It can
- 10:35Speaker 1: give you that motivation, it can make your life seem
- 10:38Speaker 1: a little less boring. But another thing that I can
- 10:41Speaker 1: do is that it can help you break bad habits.
- 10:43Speaker 1: For an example, I've been actually trying to cut my
- 10:46Speaker 1: sugar intake a bit during the day because i have
- 10:49Speaker 1: the biggest sweet tooth ever, and I'm not saying that
- 10:51Speaker 1: I want to cut it out completely. Of course, everyone
- 10:54Speaker 1: deserves a little sweet treat after dinner, but I always
- 10:57Speaker 1: crave something sweet after every meal. So breakfast, I usually
- 11:01Speaker 1: have fruits, so I'm good, but for lunch and dinner,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I'm always craving something after that meal that just kind
- 11:07Speaker 1: of like satisfies my sweet tooth. So I usually have
- 11:11Speaker 1: either like a granola bar or some type of chocolate
- 11:15Speaker 1: after lunch, and I'm trying to cut that out by
- 11:18Speaker 1: substituting it with other fruits. So I actually bought grapes
- 11:21Speaker 1: this week, and I've been having grapes with taheen. I
- 11:24Speaker 1: don't know if you guys know what tahen is, but
- 11:27Speaker 1: it's so good grapes and that is like the best combo.
- 11:31Speaker 1: It's kind of a weird comboke. It's got a limey
- 11:34Speaker 1: chili taste to it, but I saw it on TikTok
- 11:37Speaker 1: and it's so good and I highly recommend trying it out.
- 11:40Speaker 1: But anyways, grapes has been like my substitution for like
- 11:46Speaker 1: artificial sugar, so it's a natural sugar. I know grapes
- 11:49Speaker 1: are pretty high in sugar, but I'm like, you know what,
- 11:51Speaker 1: at least it's not artificial, it's natural, and that's just
- 11:54Speaker 1: something I'm trying to cut down, right, So I'm hoping
- 11:57Speaker 1: eventually my body might not crave anything sweet after eating
- 12:02Speaker 1: lunch and then after dinner. I'm just trying to find
- 12:04Speaker 1: like healthier swaps that I can do. Like dark chocolate
- 12:07Speaker 1: is probably a bit better than milk chocolate, so I've
- 12:09Speaker 1: been trying to do that. I've also been trying to
- 12:11Speaker 1: make healthier desserts, which I've talked about. I've been really
- 12:14Speaker 1: wanting to try the date recipe, which I haven't done
- 12:16Speaker 1: so yet. I have all the ingredients. I don't know
- 12:18Speaker 1: why I haven't tried doing it yet, but that's something
- 12:20Speaker 1: I've been wanting to do. I've been wanting to make
- 12:22Speaker 1: banana bread. I've been wanting to make homemade ninja creamies.
- 12:25Speaker 1: There's so many things that I just want to try
- 12:28Speaker 1: to incorporate into my current lifestyle. So that's just an
- 12:32Speaker 1: example of how you can help break your bad habits
- 12:35Speaker 1: is just by starting small. Think of different ideas and
- 12:38Speaker 1: how you can break this bad habit that can hopefully
- 12:41Speaker 1: help change your life. I know I already named a
- 12:43Speaker 1: few examples of small changes, but I wanted to name
- 12:46Speaker 1: a few more. So, as I mentioned, if you're wanting
- 12:49Speaker 1: to change up your workout routine, I highly recommend trying
- 12:52Speaker 1: out new workouts. Other workouts I've been wanting to try
- 12:55Speaker 1: is lagree, as well as boxing, maybe even doing like
- 13:00Speaker 1: personal training all that. But what I love about the
- 13:03Speaker 1: hop pilates is how there's the infred sauna, as I said,
- 13:07Speaker 1: and the benefits to that are insane. Like I'll name
- 13:11Speaker 1: some of the benefits right now. It flushes out toxins,
- 13:13Speaker 1: It reduces joint pain, relieves stiffness, proves skin tone, sleep quality,
- 13:18Speaker 1: and reduces signs of aging. Alhelujah. We love reducing signs
- 13:22Speaker 1: of aging. It's great for your skin, which is so great.
- 13:26Speaker 1: And I also just love the feeling after the class
- 13:29Speaker 1: of just feeling like you sweat everything out of your body.
- 13:32Speaker 1: So I'm really trying to make that a priority to
- 13:34Speaker 1: do twice a week. And I've mentioned in the past
- 13:37Speaker 1: that I've been really wanting a sauna in my home,
- 13:40Speaker 1: but since I don't have that, I've been using this
- 13:43Speaker 1: workout class as my way of using a sauna. So
- 13:47Speaker 1: using the Infred heat with the workout classes. I know
- 13:50Speaker 1: it's not the same obviously, but there is some relaxing
- 13:52Speaker 1: moments in the class as well, which is kind of nice.
- 13:54Speaker 1: It's more of like a yoga flow in the beginning,
- 13:56Speaker 1: and then it gets really intense for like the last
- 13:58Speaker 1: thirty minutes, and I kind of like the combination of
- 14:01Speaker 1: those two. And I was so surprised to see how
- 14:03Speaker 1: many of you, at least you follow me on my
- 14:06Speaker 1: TikTok who said that they were like huge Oxygen girls
- 14:10Speaker 1: that like live and breathe. It's the best thing they've
- 14:13Speaker 1: ever done for themselves all that. So I love the
- 14:15Speaker 1: community that it created through my social media of people
- 14:19Speaker 1: going there, sharing their experience, sharing classes that I should take.
- 14:22Speaker 1: All that. So if you want to check out Oxygen,
- 14:25Speaker 1: I highly recommend it. It was a very fun class
- 14:27Speaker 1: and I've been going to it consistently and yeah, I'm
- 14:30Speaker 1: hoping to make this a continuous thing for the summer season.
- 14:34Speaker 1: One thing that I will say made going to a
- 14:37Speaker 1: new workout studio easier is bringing a friend because I
- 14:40Speaker 1: know it can be scary going to a new gym
- 14:43Speaker 1: or just a new workout class that you've never been to.
- 14:46Speaker 1: But I find the easiest way to jump into a
- 14:49Speaker 1: new class or just a new routine is asking a
- 14:51Speaker 1: friend or your sister to do it. So, for an example,
- 14:54Speaker 1: my sister and I ended up doing Oxygen together because
- 14:56Speaker 1: we both have never done it. She wanted to do it,
- 14:58Speaker 1: I wanted to do it. I'm like, well, let's do
- 15:00Speaker 1: together because it's easier to, like, you know, be able
- 15:03Speaker 1: to go together, do it together, talk about the class
- 15:05Speaker 1: after in terms of what you both thought of it.
- 15:07Speaker 1: You know, it's I don't know, there's just something that
- 15:09Speaker 1: feels a little less scary and less nerve wracking when
- 15:12Speaker 1: you do it with a friend or a sister. So
- 15:14Speaker 1: if you've been wanting to change it up and try
- 15:16Speaker 1: a different studio out, I highly recommend bringing a friend
- 15:19Speaker 1: because I think you're going to be more inclined to
- 15:21Speaker 1: go and try out the new workout class with a
- 15:23Speaker 1: friend or your sister versus going alone. And yeah, I
- 15:27Speaker 1: just find it makes a difference. Another small change is
- 15:30Speaker 1: a new scenery. So, as I said, maybe changing some
- 15:32Speaker 1: rooms up in your home, maybe going on a little
- 15:35Speaker 1: road trip on the weekend, just kind of like getting
- 15:38Speaker 1: out of a repetitive routine. Like I think sometimes we
- 15:41Speaker 1: don't realize, like when we're in a red or when
- 15:43Speaker 1: we're feeling low and you know, you're just seeking something
- 15:46Speaker 1: different and you don't know what's going on. Sometimes it's
- 15:49Speaker 1: nice to do these small changes by going out of
- 15:52Speaker 1: your way to make changes in your home or find
- 15:55Speaker 1: time to you know, go away on the weekend and
- 15:57Speaker 1: do a little road trip. Just like changing your routine
- 16:01Speaker 1: and breaking out of it by changing different scenerings up
- 16:04Speaker 1: and just changing different things that you could do on
- 16:07Speaker 1: your weekend, I think is essential and important. Like I've
- 16:11Speaker 1: only traveled once or twice this year so far, and
- 16:13Speaker 1: I'm lucky that I've gotten those opportunities because I do
- 16:16Speaker 1: think breaking me out of my own routine, for an example,
- 16:19Speaker 1: and getting out and doing something different for a week
- 16:22Speaker 1: and then coming home, you look forward to that routine
- 16:25Speaker 1: that you had before leaving, and you feel reinspired and
- 16:29Speaker 1: just that change of scenery of like leaving and having
- 16:32Speaker 1: that little trip to yourself was needed. So anyways, I'm
- 16:36Speaker 1: not saying go spend money on a trip, but I'm saying,
- 16:38Speaker 1: you know, even if you have a cottage, like go
- 16:40Speaker 1: away for the weekend and just kind of change it
- 16:42Speaker 1: up for the weekend and then come back, or as
- 16:44Speaker 1: I said, like find spaces in your home to change
- 16:47Speaker 1: up that you might be kind of sick and tarrative
- 16:49Speaker 1: and you don't really realize it until you do it.
- 16:52Speaker 1: So at least for me, I'm really happy with making
- 16:55Speaker 1: the changes in our room already, and I'm feeling more
- 16:57Speaker 1: inspired and my mood's just a bit better. Another small
- 17:00Speaker 1: change you could do is changing up your shower routine.
- 17:03Speaker 1: So I'm a hot shower girl, and I think a
- 17:08Speaker 1: lot of girls I think tend to have hot showers.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I know Zach does not have a hot shower. He
- 17:12Speaker 1: hates hot showers, and I feel like, I don't know
- 17:14Speaker 1: that might be a guy thing, but I love taking
- 17:17Speaker 1: like a burning hot shower after any kind of workout
- 17:20Speaker 1: in the morning for like five to ten minutes, and
- 17:23Speaker 1: then I switched to cold for like the last minute
- 17:26Speaker 1: or two. I don't overly love cold plunges or cold water,
- 17:30Speaker 1: but I know there's a lot of benefits to doing
- 17:33Speaker 1: cold showers like for focus, it boosts your mood, it
- 17:36Speaker 1: helps reduce anxiety all that. So doing that combination of
- 17:40Speaker 1: both is obviously really good for your health. You guys
- 17:42Speaker 1: know me, I'm all about trying those health and wellness
- 17:45Speaker 1: things that will benefit your health. So yeah, so that's
- 17:49Speaker 1: something that you haven't tried. I highly recommend trying it.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Another one is shopping at a new grocery store or
- 17:54Speaker 1: maybe even like a specialty store. Lately, I've been trying
- 17:57Speaker 1: to go to a bakery for all of our bread
- 18:00Speaker 1: here at home. So just like sour dough bagels, they
- 18:05Speaker 1: do scones there, they do dinner rolls, like literally everything
- 18:09Speaker 1: is fresh at this bakery and that's what I love,
- 18:11Speaker 1: and I think another great thing about it is that
- 18:14Speaker 1: the ingredients are ten times better. You do pay a
- 18:16Speaker 1: bit more for those things, but it's been a nice
- 18:19Speaker 1: change to support a bakery versus always supporting a grocery store.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Another thing I've been wanting to do, to be honest,
- 18:27Speaker 1: is go to a butcher to get our meat moving
- 18:29Speaker 1: forward versus the grocery store. Because I don't know if
- 18:34Speaker 1: you guys live in Canada or not, but the prices
- 18:37Speaker 1: of Anyways, food at the grocery store is ridiculous, so
- 18:41Speaker 1: finding ways to yeah, maybe support other businesses, or again,
- 18:45Speaker 1: just making the small change of like having a different
- 18:48Speaker 1: routine by changing up your grocery stores, I think is important.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Another thing we'd love to do is go to farmers' markets.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Right now, it's currently not open, but I do think
- 18:57Speaker 1: it starts in the beginning of May, which I'm very
- 19:00Speaker 1: excited about because I think the season for farmers' markets
- 19:03Speaker 1: here is from like the beginning of May to end
- 19:06Speaker 1: of October, so I'm really excited for that to start
- 19:09Speaker 1: up again because I love getting our fresh produce from there.
- 19:12Speaker 1: And again, it's a lot of small businesses, so just
- 19:15Speaker 1: discovering new businesses is always fun as well. And I
- 19:18Speaker 1: just find everything at a farmer's market just tastes better
- 19:21Speaker 1: in my opinion, because everything is beyond fresh and we
- 19:24Speaker 1: love fresh things. I think another thing you could do
- 19:27Speaker 1: as a small change is create something that you can
- 19:30Speaker 1: enjoy on the weekend, and maybe it's a little routine
- 19:33Speaker 1: that you have for yourself with your partner or a friend,
- 19:37Speaker 1: you know, maybe trying out different coffee shops or getting
- 19:40Speaker 1: into a hobby together. We talk about that a lot.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Zach and I have been wanting to find a hobby.
- 19:45Speaker 1: A lot of you guys actually messaged me after, which
- 19:47Speaker 1: was so sweet, and you guys recommended like biking, rollerblading, tennis, pickleball,
- 19:52Speaker 1: all that. So we're trying to find something active to
- 19:54Speaker 1: do together. And I loved the idea of rollerblading, to
- 19:57Speaker 1: be honest, because I used to do that all the time,
- 20:00Speaker 1: and I think it could be fun, like on the
- 20:01Speaker 1: weekends to go rollerblading to a coffee shop and going
- 20:04Speaker 1: to get a coffee together, or biking or whatever, right,
- 20:07Speaker 1: just to like get out of the house, you know,
- 20:09Speaker 1: be off your phone, enjoy the fresh air, be active.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Like I don't know, Zach's not a big runner. I
- 20:14Speaker 1: would love to run with him, but he definitely doesn't
- 20:17Speaker 1: like it. Freddy loves to run, but yeah, so that's
- 20:20Speaker 1: just gonna have to be something that I do by myself.
- 20:23Speaker 1: But that would be another good idea to do with
- 20:26Speaker 1: your partner on the weekends, is just doing that and
- 20:28Speaker 1: trying different coffee shops together, or like going to get
- 20:31Speaker 1: different smoothies at different smoothie spots. Again, just like trying
- 20:35Speaker 1: those new things is always so refreshing. Other ideas you
- 20:38Speaker 1: could do is changing up your tea and coffee routine,
- 20:41Speaker 1: so trying out different coffee recipes or again trying different
- 20:45Speaker 1: drinks out at home. I've been trying out different teas
- 20:48Speaker 1: in the morning. Instead of just having green tea, I've
- 20:50Speaker 1: been drinking like Dandelion tea or Camo meal tea. Coffee routine,
- 20:54Speaker 1: I've been kind of changing it up. I used to
- 20:56Speaker 1: add brown sugar, cinnamon, and honey before my espresso shot,
- 21:01Speaker 1: but now I've been cutting out the sugars and i
- 21:04Speaker 1: just add honey in sea salt. Adding the sea salt
- 21:07Speaker 1: in my coffee has been a complete game changer. You
- 21:09Speaker 1: guys need to try the honey in sea salt before
- 21:12Speaker 1: you brew your espresso shot. If you are an espresso
- 21:15Speaker 1: lover or if you just have an espresso maker, please
- 21:19Speaker 1: add this before you pour your shot, and then mix
- 21:21Speaker 1: it with the spoon and then add it to your milk.
- 21:23Speaker 1: If you're like a lote girl or a cappuccino girl,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I cannot tell you how this has changed the coffee
- 21:30Speaker 1: game for me. I find the sea salt basically just
- 21:33Speaker 1: like activates the coffee flavor even more than what it
- 21:36Speaker 1: already is, and it just tastes ten times better. So
- 21:40Speaker 1: I don't know, and sea salt's good for you. I
- 21:42Speaker 1: put it with the grinder. I don't use that much.
- 21:44Speaker 1: It's just like two little grinds with like a tablespoon
- 21:47Speaker 1: of honey and that's it and it's so good. Thank
- 21:50Speaker 1: me later. But you guys need to try it, especially
- 21:52Speaker 1: if you've been wanting to change up your coffee routine.
- 21:55Speaker 1: It's my go to recipe and I've been loving it.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Other things you could do is like changing your wallpaper
- 22:00Speaker 1: on your phone or on your computer, finding things that
- 22:03Speaker 1: might be more inspiring for the new season. So it
- 22:05Speaker 1: could be like putting a spring background from Pinterest or
- 22:09Speaker 1: summer season. You could also, you know, put your vision
- 22:13Speaker 1: board up. If you haven't put that up on your
- 22:15Speaker 1: phone or your laptop. Minds my vision board. I constantly
- 22:18Speaker 1: look at it and it kind of just always reminds
- 22:20Speaker 1: me of things that I want to achieve for the year,
- 22:23Speaker 1: or things that I want to achieve for the season
- 22:25Speaker 1: coming up. So things that I want to achieve for
- 22:27Speaker 1: the summer, like traveling a bit more, you know, doing
- 22:30Speaker 1: some things to the home. All that. The last one
- 22:32Speaker 1: is trying new recipes out. So I've talked about this
- 22:36Speaker 1: a lot, but I've been really wanting to change up
- 22:38Speaker 1: my dinner recipes at home because I'm pretty sure it's
- 22:40Speaker 1: really common for people to have like the same meals
- 22:43Speaker 1: in their household, like if they have the same dinner
- 22:45Speaker 1: rotation for you know, Monday to Friday, with different recipes
- 22:48Speaker 1: that they just always resort to. And I've just been
- 22:51Speaker 1: really sick and tired of the ones that we always
- 22:54Speaker 1: go back to. And for an example, last night, it
- 22:57Speaker 1: was Monday night and I decided to try out a
- 22:59Speaker 1: new recipe and I made stuffed peppers. It was so good, guys.
- 23:04Speaker 1: It's just a pepper that you cut in half, you
- 23:07Speaker 1: take out the seeds, you rinse it out, and then
- 23:09Speaker 1: you add some stuffing into it, which I used extra
- 23:12Speaker 1: lean ground beef with some corn onion, and then I
- 23:15Speaker 1: added taco seasoning on top. Mix that up, heat it
- 23:18Speaker 1: up in a skillet, and then all you have to
- 23:20Speaker 1: do is just scoop it up, put it in the pepper,
- 23:22Speaker 1: add some cheese on top, throw it in the oven
- 23:24Speaker 1: for like twenty minutes, and then I usually put some
- 23:28Speaker 1: guacamole on top. I'll make homemade guak and then if
- 23:31Speaker 1: you want, you can have a little bit of tortilla
- 23:32Speaker 1: chips on the side. Anyways, it was a huge game
- 23:35Speaker 1: changer because I feel like I usually have tacos, but
- 23:39Speaker 1: I'm over that, Like I'm over having tacos every week.
- 23:42Speaker 1: So I'm like, Okay, what's different. That's kind of similar,
- 23:45Speaker 1: that's easy to make, And I saw the stuffed peppers
- 23:48Speaker 1: on Pinterest, and I'm like, this is perfect, it's easy,
- 23:50Speaker 1: it's good. I also had a few extra for the
- 23:53Speaker 1: day before, so I was able to have it for lunch. Anyways,
- 23:56Speaker 1: it was so good, so I highly recommend trying that out.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Another new recipe that we tried on Sunday was chicken
- 24:02Speaker 1: pot pie stew. We've been trying to make Sundays are
- 24:05Speaker 1: crockpot nights, especially because we can have again meal prep
- 24:08Speaker 1: for the week when we use it the crockpot, because
- 24:10Speaker 1: I think it's usually about six to eat servings whenever
- 24:13Speaker 1: we make a recipe with the crockpot. And the chicken
- 24:16Speaker 1: pot pie was basically potatoes, carrots, peas, chicken, and then
- 24:23Speaker 1: just a bunch of seasoning. That was really good and
- 24:25Speaker 1: I thought it was easy just to throw everything in
- 24:27Speaker 1: the crockpot. I've also been loving my Greek raps, which
- 24:30Speaker 1: is essentially just a peeda rap with taziki or hummus
- 24:34Speaker 1: as your base, and then you can add like a
- 24:36Speaker 1: Greek salad mix with a bit of Greek dressing. I
- 24:38Speaker 1: add chicken, I add a bit of feat of cheese, cucumbers, olives,
- 24:43Speaker 1: what else, tomatoes, I don't know. It's just really good
- 24:46Speaker 1: and I just create like a little rap and I
- 24:49Speaker 1: have that for lunch. So just trying new things out
- 24:52Speaker 1: because I'm getting the eggch I've been sick and tired
- 24:55Speaker 1: of eating the same things that I usually do. So
- 24:57Speaker 1: I think it's important to incorporate these new recipes you're
- 25:00Speaker 1: exposing yourself to because it allows you to fall in
- 25:02Speaker 1: love with new foods, new recipes and maybe your new
- 25:06Speaker 1: you know, dinner rotation or lunch rotation. By trying these
- 25:09Speaker 1: new things, it allows you to get excited, it allows
- 25:11Speaker 1: you to experiment with new things, and yeah, it's just
- 25:15Speaker 1: nice to incorporate new meals and they just become your
- 25:18Speaker 1: new go tos. So those are just some small changes
- 25:21Speaker 1: that I would recommend going into a new season. And
- 25:25Speaker 1: I know this can sometimes be a little repetitive, but
- 25:27Speaker 1: it's more so just to like make you guys aware
- 25:30Speaker 1: that you can always make changes at any point in
- 25:33Speaker 1: your life, and that they don't always have to be
- 25:35Speaker 1: so big. They could be small things that you can
- 25:37Speaker 1: do in your home that could really just lift your
- 25:39Speaker 1: mood and kind of get you out of that rut
- 25:41Speaker 1: that you might be feeling, or just kind of get
- 25:43Speaker 1: your spark back, because you know, I personally feel like
- 25:45Speaker 1: when you go into a new season, it feels really
- 25:47Speaker 1: refreshing because it almost feels like a new start, And
- 25:50Speaker 1: these are just ways to really lift your mood and
- 25:52Speaker 1: just get you excited about going into a new season.
- 25:55Speaker 1: So yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. We
- 25:59Speaker 1: are starting very exciting episode next week which I really
- 26:02Speaker 1: want you guys to be involved in. So next week
