- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chilly Mornings on demand on ninety seven point
- 0:04Speaker 1: one Washuntain And then.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Just like that, the schools they closed and the weather
- 0:09Speaker 2: decided to take a turn for well, I want to
- 0:12Speaker 2: say the worst, but depending on where you are, I guess,
- 0:15Speaker 2: you know, it could either be okay, or it could
- 0:18Speaker 2: be really really bad, or it could be just a nightmare.
- 0:21Speaker 2: At least we're not in New York or New Jersey.
- 0:23Speaker 2: That's right, Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety
- 0:25Speaker 2: seven point one wash FM. So how was it where
- 0:27Speaker 2: you live over near Tysons.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Well, I didn't stay in Tysons last night. I stayed
- 0:31Speaker 3: in Rockville. But my husband said, yeah, the roads were
- 0:34Speaker 3: not the greatest. Right, even though schools closed in Fairfax County,
- 0:38Speaker 3: it's not closed everywhere. Some of them just have a
- 0:40Speaker 3: two hour delay, just to be clear. Yeah, and the
- 0:43Speaker 3: full list is at washfm dot com slash closings.
- 0:46Speaker 2: But it was kind of an easy ride to get
- 0:49Speaker 2: to the hotel. I stayed there out of an abundance
- 0:51Speaker 2: of caution, but I went like right at bedtime, so
- 0:53Speaker 2: that all I had to worry about was going in
- 0:55Speaker 2: and sleeping and sleeping.
- 0:57Speaker 3: I am I do want to say though. I know
- 0:59Speaker 3: the snow is the thing a lot of people might
- 1:01Speaker 3: be talking about this morning, Toby. But the Olympics are over.
- 1:05Speaker 3: They ended last night. I watched some from the hotel,
- 1:08Speaker 3: but I were very happy in our household because we're
- 1:11Speaker 3: a hockey family and Team USA, the men's team, they
- 1:15Speaker 3: won gold. They beat Canada. This is the first time
- 1:17Speaker 3: they won the gold since Miracle.
- 1:19Speaker 2: And I I back in the day. So you know what,
- 1:23Speaker 2: USA Hockey, Team USA Hockey bringing it home to help
- 1:28Speaker 2: close out the Olympics. You know, I was very confused because,
- 1:32Speaker 2: like yesterday the Olympics were happening like in real time
- 1:35Speaker 2: on some of the channels I know, but then they
- 1:37Speaker 2: were saying there's this stuff in primetime. I was very confused.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I was like, wait a minute, what is it confusing?
- 1:44Speaker 3: But it's over now, but you.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Know what, hey, and it was worth it, and so
- 1:48Speaker 2: I guess there's one more Olympiad and then boom, the
- 1:50Speaker 2: Olympics are in Salt Lake City, which should be fun. Anyway,
- 1:54Speaker 2: Hopefully you are having a great day. Joy is contagious,
- 1:57Speaker 2: spread it. Give us a call and let us know
- 1:59Speaker 2: why you're feeling good. Even if it's because you get
- 2:02Speaker 2: to sleep in today because of the snow. It's ninety
- 2:05Speaker 2: seven point one WASHCHEFM. We're Toby and Chilly in the
- 2:07Speaker 2: morning at eight sixty six nine two, seven forty three
- 2:09Speaker 2: sixty one. Top stories at the top of the hour.
- 2:12Speaker 2: On the way hang out.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Top stories top of the hour, depending on where you live.
- 2:19Speaker 3: We got anywhere from two to six inches of snow overnight.
- 2:22Speaker 3: The federal government operating on a two hour delay this morning.
- 2:26Speaker 3: A lot of school systems in the region either opening
- 2:28Speaker 3: late or closed. You can find the full list at
- 2:31Speaker 3: washfm dot com slash closings. Another news the State Department
- 2:35Speaker 3: advising US citizens in several Mexican states, including Puerto Varta,
- 2:40Speaker 3: to shelter in place because of security operations, roadblocks and
- 2:44Speaker 3: increase cartel violence. The alert follows a major military operation
- 2:49Speaker 3: that reportedly killed cartel leader Elmento. The TSA says TSA
- 2:54Speaker 3: pre Checked will remain available for now, reversing an earlier
- 2:59Speaker 3: announcement that the Expedited screening program would be paused because
- 3:03Speaker 3: of the partial government shutdown. However, the Global Entry program
- 3:07Speaker 3: remains suspended. Police broke up several large illegal car rally
- 3:13Speaker 3: gatherings across the DC area over the weekend, with officers
- 3:17Speaker 3: dispersing crowds of up to three hundred people engaged in
- 3:20Speaker 3: reckless driving stunts and roadway shutdowns. Maryland authorities also made
- 3:25Speaker 3: two arrests on weapons charges during the coordinated enforcement effort.
- 3:29Speaker 3: DC Water is going to be holding two community meetings
- 3:32Speaker 3: this week to update residents on their response to the
- 3:34Speaker 3: massive Potomac Interceptors sewage collapse that released hundreds of millions
- 3:38Speaker 3: of gallons of untreated wastewater into the Potomac. Officials will
- 3:43Speaker 3: outline repair efforts, environmental impacts, and next steps. And in
- 3:48Speaker 3: case you missed it, right before the Olympics ended, the
- 3:50Speaker 3: United States captured its first Olympic men's hockey gold medal
- 3:54Speaker 3: in forty six years since the legendary nineteen eighty miracle
- 3:58Speaker 3: on ice. They defeated CA Canada two to one in overtime.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Forecast today winter weather advisory till ten this morning. Snow
- 4:06Speaker 3: will end partly sunny and windy later hies around forty
- 4:09Speaker 3: right now thirty three in Tacoma Park.
- 4:12Speaker 2: And that's the news. With Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 4:14Speaker 2: You get top stories at the top of the hour,
- 4:16Speaker 2: need some inspiration, because we got you covered with that
- 4:18Speaker 2: in just about ten minutes or so. Your morning mindset

- 4:30Speaker 2: point one WASHEFM hangout time now for your morning mindset

- 4:36Speaker 2: at Chilly in the morning.
- 4:37Speaker 3: This is where we pause, find a quote and share
- 4:40Speaker 3: it with you to get you into a better headspace
- 4:43Speaker 3: as you start the day.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah, and in this case a brand new week. Chris
- 4:46Speaker 2: Grosser says on this Monday, the twenty third, opportunities don't happen.
- 4:52Speaker 2: You create them. Opportunities don't happen, you create them. Chris Grosser,
- 4:58Speaker 2: I think this is important to us because it reminds
- 5:02Speaker 2: us as we start a new week, that initiative turns
- 5:04Speaker 2: waiting into winning. Right, So take the initiative. Opportunities don't
- 5:09Speaker 2: just happen. If you're waiting for an invitation, it's not
- 5:12Speaker 2: going to come to paraphrase paraphrase a former boss of mind.
- 5:16Speaker 2: So go ahead, create that opportunity today. That's initiative turns
- 5:21Speaker 2: waiting into winning. Hopefully that helped you as you get
- 5:24Speaker 2: up and get ready to start this Monday in a
- 5:26Speaker 2: brand new week. That's your morning mindset. Find it again
- 5:28Speaker 2: on install Also the Tobya Chilli page washfm dot com
- 5:31Speaker 2: if you need it. Thank you for waking up with
- 5:34Speaker 2: us today as we get our Monday started together. Now
- 5:37Speaker 2: stay there because coming up in just minutes, dead.
- 5:39Speaker 3: People may soon be able to post on Facebook.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Well, yes, this should be AI gone to an entirely new,
- 5:48Speaker 2: interesting level.
- 5:49Speaker 3: That's right.
- 5:49Speaker 2: That's one way of putting it. Hang out. We'll unpack
- 5:52Speaker 2: it all in a minute. Good morning. This could creep
- 5:54Speaker 2: you out a little bit, Toby and chilly in the morning.
- 5:56Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash FM technology. Ain't it's
- 6:00Speaker 2: something meta? The company behind Facebook and Instagram. Well, they
- 6:03Speaker 2: got a patent for some AI that will act like
- 6:06Speaker 2: you're online even if you're not there, or even after
- 6:11Speaker 2: you've gone on to the great beyond you've passed away.
- 6:17Speaker 3: This is a bit too much. This is taking it
- 6:19Speaker 3: too far when your dead self can like a comment
- 6:24Speaker 3: or respond to somebody on Facebook.
- 6:26Speaker 2: And here's and here's what's interesting. The AI learns from
- 6:31Speaker 2: everything in your life that you've posted or liked or
- 6:34Speaker 2: commented on before.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 6:36Speaker 2: And then it responds to your friend's post in your style.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Yeah, making it seem like you're still around and interacting
- 6:43Speaker 3: with them.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Very weird.
- 6:45Speaker 3: I mean, you know, keeping my digital self around on
- 6:48Speaker 3: social media after I'm long gone is not exactly something
- 6:51Speaker 3: that I would want. Now personally, if I received a
- 6:54Speaker 3: comment or aike from a dead friend or relative, that
- 6:57Speaker 3: could be triggering for me, you know they've passed, Like,
- 7:01Speaker 3: don't I don't want that kind of haunting on Facebook.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I'm sorry, that's just me. Yeah, I know, I don't.
- 7:09Speaker 3: You know, imagine your I mean, your grandma's gone. But like,
- 7:12Speaker 3: I don't want some random.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Or a friend of mine that passed away not too
- 7:16Speaker 2: long ago, if he just automatically started posting things and
- 7:19Speaker 2: liking things. I'd be like, excuse me, that's just bizarre.
- 7:23Speaker 2: It's not I wouldn't find it comfortable. No, And you know,
- 7:26Speaker 2: in their defense, and if you've seen the story this week,
- 7:28Speaker 2: you know, Meta says, Meta says that they're not planning
- 7:33Speaker 2: on using this that way, right, However, I would say this, Well,
- 7:39Speaker 2: if that's the case, why did you go on patented exactly.
- 7:43Speaker 3: And let me just say one other thing. After I'm dead,
- 7:46Speaker 3: I don't want my digital self to offend somebody and
- 7:49Speaker 3: have me canceled after I've died right by making a
- 7:52Speaker 3: comment on my behalf.
- 7:54Speaker 2: I'm not trying to be a conspiracy theorist, you know,
- 7:57Speaker 2: canceling people. But you know what happens if they decide
- 7:59Speaker 2: they want to incorporate this tech into their glasses. They're goggles,
- 8:03Speaker 2: they're smart. Then you have a digital representation of you
- 8:06Speaker 2: talking like you, oh man, saying things like you. No,
- 8:10Speaker 2: it's just too much. Just settle down, I know, rattle down. Hey,
- 8:14Speaker 2: read more about it to Toby and Chili page at
- 8:16Speaker 2: washfm dot com. And if you got thoughts, fire away.
- 8:18Speaker 2: That's what the talkback microphone is for. You can use
- 8:22Speaker 2: it if you're signed into your iHeart apps. Stay right there,
- 8:25Speaker 2: because next, with Toby and Chile in the morning.
- 8:26Speaker 3: We're gonna update you on all the news headlines with
- 8:30Speaker 3: Toby and Chili's top stories.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Guaranteed to be delivered by a human. And that's some
- 8:33Speaker 2: METAAI teachers all over the VMV getting ready to head
- 8:37Speaker 2: back to school. There's one of those teachers that's really
- 8:39Speaker 2: made a difference for you, your kid, your family. We
- 8:43Speaker 2: would love to hear all about them. At ninety seven
- 8:45Speaker 2: point one WASHFM with Toby and Chili in the Morning.
- 8:47Speaker 3: We've got our iheartradios Thank a Teacher powered by donors.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Choose where you can nominate a local public school teacher
- 8:54Speaker 3: for a chance for them to win five thousand dollars.
- 8:57Speaker 2: That's right. Get to washfm dot com slash teacher and
- 9:00Speaker 2: nominate away.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Ninety seven point one WASHFM, Washington, an iHeartRadio station coming
- 9:08Speaker 1: up on Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Folks in the DC area waking up to anywhere between
- 9:13Speaker 3: two and six inches of snow. We've got the latest
- 9:16Speaker 3: on that and other stories on the way with Toby
- 9:19Speaker 3: and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point one
- 9:22Speaker 3: wash FM Top Stories Top of the Hour. The DC
- 9:28Speaker 3: area waking up to snow this morning. Because of that,
- 9:32Speaker 3: the federal government operating on a two hour delay. A
- 9:35Speaker 3: lot of school systems in the region are either opening
- 9:37Speaker 3: late or closed. If you want to see the full list,
- 9:40Speaker 3: you can at washfm dot com slash closings. In other news,
- 9:44Speaker 3: the State Department says US citizens in several Mexican states
- 9:48Speaker 3: should shelter in place because of security operations, road blockages,
- 9:52Speaker 3: and criminal activity. The areas affected include the popular tourist
- 9:56Speaker 3: destinations of Puerto Viarta. This all comes as Mexican security
- 10:00Speaker 3: forces killed a cartel leader known as Elmencho in a
- 10:04Speaker 3: major military operation. A twenty one year old man from
- 10:08Speaker 3: North Carolina was shot and killed at mar A Lago
- 10:10Speaker 3: early yesterday after entering the resort's secure perimeter with a
- 10:14Speaker 3: shotgun and a gas can. DC Water estimates it's going
- 10:18Speaker 3: to cost about twenty million dollars to repair the Potomac
- 10:22Speaker 3: Interceptor pipe that collapsed in Montgomery County, spilling over two
- 10:26Speaker 3: hundred million gallons of untreated sewage into the Potomac River.
- 10:30Speaker 3: The President reportedly approved disaster relief to support cleanup and repairs.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Montgomery County health officials have issued a warning about a
- 10:38Speaker 3: possible measles exposure in Bethesda. A Virginia resident with a
- 10:42Speaker 3: confirmed case of the measles reportedly visited a building at
- 10:46Speaker 3: seventy two hundred Wisconsin Avenue on February tenth, and a
- 10:50Speaker 3: recent study found that venting anger doesn't really help, may
- 10:54Speaker 3: actually make it worse, debunking the popular Catharsis theory. Researchers
- 11:00Speaker 3: say the calming techniques like deep breathing and meditation reduce
- 11:05Speaker 3: anger more effectively. Forecast for today the winter weather advisory
- 11:09Speaker 3: in avectel ten. This morning, the snow will end and
- 11:11Speaker 3: then we'll have partly sunny skies, windy highs around forty
- 11:15Speaker 3: Right now thirty three in Falls Church.
- 11:17Speaker 2: There goes the news. With Toby and Chilly in the morning,
- 11:19Speaker 2: you get top stories at the top of the hour
- 11:21Speaker 2: and you get interesting, riveting conversation. Coming up next, we'll
- 11:24Speaker 2: talk about my kid. She's going to be twenty two
- 11:27Speaker 2: at the end of March. She moved out recently, Kyla,
- 11:30Speaker 2: my daughter. The question though, is am I still financially
- 11:34Speaker 2: supporting her? Does it look different? And are you supporting
- 11:39Speaker 2: your kids? Maybe you're still getting some support from your parents.
- 11:45Speaker 2: If so, would love to hear from you this morning
- 11:47Speaker 2: eight six six nine two seven forty three sixty one,
- 11:49Speaker 2: or tap that talkback microphone if you're signed into your
- 11:52Speaker 2: iHeart app listening to us. We'll get into all of
- 11:54Speaker 2: this and more next with Toby and Chilly in the
- 11:56Speaker 2: morning eight six six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
- 11:59Speaker 2: That's it's the number here at ninety seven point one.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Watch FM to reach us Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Talkback works too, Tap it if you're signed into your
- 12:06Speaker 2: iHeart app leaves a voice message. The question this Monday
- 12:09Speaker 2: morning is, as an adult, how much financial support do
- 12:13Speaker 2: you get from your parents? Still like you're an adult,
- 12:16Speaker 2: Maybe you've grown up, you're out on your own, you're
- 12:19Speaker 2: doing your thing, but every so often you gotta lean
- 12:22Speaker 2: on family. My daughter Kyla, who is soon to be
- 12:25Speaker 2: twenty two at the end of March, she recently decided
- 12:29Speaker 2: to move to Michigan, where she is cohabitating with a
- 12:32Speaker 2: significant other.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Now, when one moves out, I've found that sometimes the
- 12:38Speaker 2: phone rings and hey, I need little help with something.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Is a real conversation that people have a money borrowing conversation.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Hey Dad, Hey Mom? Has she reached out for money yet? No,
- 12:50Speaker 2: she has it, And that has me a bit surprised.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I can't figure out if I'm perplexed about it or not.
- 12:56Speaker 2: We're proud or proud, right, but I know she She
- 13:00Speaker 2: says she doesn't want to burden me because she knows that,
- 13:02Speaker 2: you know, I've got college choice in on my back
- 13:04Speaker 2: and other things like that. But still the fact that
- 13:07Speaker 2: she didn't call and say, hey, I need some you know,
- 13:10Speaker 2: dough for this or dough for that made me. It
- 13:13Speaker 2: still makes me scratch my head.
- 13:14Speaker 3: Are you supporting her in any way?
- 13:16Speaker 2: Yeah, she's still on my health insurance. She's going to
- 13:18Speaker 2: be on my health insurance probably till she turns twenty six,
- 13:21Speaker 2: or she gets a job where she has her own
- 13:23Speaker 2: health insurance.
- 13:24Speaker 3: That's true. That is true. Well, that's really impressive. I
- 13:26Speaker 3: mean I'm proud of her as well, because I know
- 13:29Speaker 3: it's hard to cut financial ties with your parents because
- 13:32Speaker 3: it's a lot easier when they're taking care of things. Sure,
- 13:35Speaker 3: I didn't cut one hundred percent until I bought the house.
- 13:38Speaker 3: You didn't, really, I was like twenty six really and
- 13:40Speaker 3: after that, I'm like, okay, this is official adulting. Not
- 13:43Speaker 3: one penny is coming from my parents since then.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Now, we had a conversation about it, my daughter and I.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Did you and your dad or you and mom and
- 13:50Speaker 2: dad have a conversation? Do you remember?
- 13:52Speaker 3: No? I mean I think it was just an understood thing.
- 13:54Speaker 3: They were always there if I needed them. But it's like, well,
- 13:56Speaker 3: I mean, I've got a job, I've got a house,
- 13:58Speaker 3: like I should be able to do this on my own.
- 13:59Speaker 2: You know, what do you think as an adult, how
- 14:01Speaker 2: much financial support are you getting from mom and dad?
- 14:03Speaker 2: Give us call, tell us we won't judge eight sixty
- 14:05Speaker 2: six nine two seven forty three sixty one. I mean,
- 14:07Speaker 2: if you can't count on family, who can you count
- 14:09Speaker 2: on next to yourself? We'll talk more about this coming
- 14:13Speaker 2: up in minutes with Toby and Chilly in the Morning
- 14:15Speaker 2: here on ninety seven point one, watch Chef M join
- 14:17Speaker 2: the conversation. We're Toby and Chilly in the morning, and
- 14:20Speaker 2: we're talking about you as an adult getting help from
- 14:24Speaker 2: mom and dad, financial help. Maybe mom and dad are
- 14:27Speaker 2: helping you with life stuff, other stuff. Sometimes you gotta
- 14:30Speaker 2: lean on family. Ninety seven point one watch FM. We
- 14:32Speaker 2: are Toby and Chilly in the morning. But other times,
- 14:35Speaker 2: you know, maybe it's a bit too much. Chilly, you say,
- 14:38Speaker 2: you and mom and Dad never even had the conversation
- 14:40Speaker 2: about you just saying, hey, I'm on my own.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Yeah. I think it was understood at twenty six when
- 14:44Speaker 3: I could buy a house and I could probably just
- 14:46Speaker 3: be on my own financially.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Right And my daughter, to her credit, has not gone
- 14:50Speaker 2: and hit me up for any money since she moved
- 14:52Speaker 2: in with her significant other in Michigan. And honestly, I
- 14:55Speaker 2: thought she would have by now, and I think everybody
- 14:57Speaker 2: else kind of thought she would have by now. What
- 15:00Speaker 2: do you think are you hitting up mom and dad
- 15:02Speaker 2: for any kind of financial support or any kind of support?
- 15:05Speaker 2: What's going on, Doug? Good morning in Fairfax. What's up?
- 15:08Speaker 4: My parents take care of my laundry and that's it.
- 15:11Speaker 3: I do everything else. Hold on, what do you mean
- 15:13Speaker 3: they take care of your laundry.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Once a week, I drop off some clothes and my
- 15:18Speaker 4: mom cleans them.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Mm hm wow.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Okay, she says she loves to help me out, So
- 15:23Speaker 2: why not Doug.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Okay, if it works for the two of you, that's great.
- 15:29Speaker 3: I mean, if she's not having you adult on your
- 15:31Speaker 3: own at your own place, that's between you and mom.
- 15:35Speaker 3: But okay, does she still bathe you? Ha?
- 15:38Speaker 2: Ha? Yeah? Eight six six nine through seven forty three
- 15:41Speaker 2: sixty one. That's the number. Thanks for the call this morning, Doug,
- 15:44Speaker 2: And by the way, you can also tap talk back
- 15:46Speaker 2: jump into this conversation. Rachel, Hello, and thank you for
- 15:49Speaker 2: listening this morning. Silver Spring. What's up?
- 15:51Speaker 3: I still use their Netflix their costco membership and I'm
- 15:55Speaker 3: on the family phone plan. No one talks about it,
- 15:57Speaker 3: but that's basically a quiet monthly.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Hey, look, my daughter's still on my plan. Yes, reminded me.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I mean I have to pay that bill. Coming up too,
- 16:05Speaker 2: good stuff this morning. Thank you so much for chiming in.
- 16:08Speaker 2: And if you've got some thoughts you want to share
- 16:10Speaker 2: with the class, we're all ears. You know the number,
- 16:12Speaker 2: give us a call you can use talk back. Financial
- 16:14Speaker 2: support you're still getting from your parents is the question?
- 16:17Speaker 2: Feel free to jump in.
- 16:19Speaker 3: And coming up next, we're going to update you on
- 16:21Speaker 3: all the news headlines with Toby and Chili's top stories.

- 21:00Speaker 3: It's Monday, We've got a story that we think will
- 21:03Speaker 3: make your Monday. One Arlington man just pushed the limits
- 21:07Speaker 3: of endurance like few ever have. You'll hear his very
- 21:11Speaker 3: inspirational story next.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Marathon seems to be the ongoing theme this morning with
- 21:16Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning. Here at ninety seven
- 21:18Speaker 2: point one Watch FM, wh it's time for a story
- 21:19Speaker 2: that we think might just make your Monday. It comes
- 21:22Speaker 2: to us from Arlington. He's fifty one. His name is
- 21:24Speaker 2: Michael Wardian. He did what not too many people do,
- 21:27Speaker 2: signed up for an ultra marathon, a race that goes
- 21:29Speaker 2: past the standard twenty six point two miles. The catch
- 21:32Speaker 2: here is that this ultra marathon took place over seven
- 21:37Speaker 2: days on seven different continents.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Oh my god. And that's exactly what Michael did, and
- 21:44Speaker 3: he accomplished it earlier this month. Because he didn't just
- 21:46Speaker 3: finish the ultra marathon, he actually set a record for
- 21:49Speaker 3: the fastest total time. This whole thing started in Antarctica,
- 21:54Speaker 3: where he kicked off the challenge and then headed on
- 21:56Speaker 3: to the next stop. Yep.
- 21:57Speaker 2: From there, it was a non stop cycle around the world, racing, traveling, recovering,
- 22:02Speaker 2: Cape Town in Australia, Perth, du Bai, Madrid, Brazil, finally
- 22:07Speaker 2: back in the US in Miami.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Now, remember every race that he ran was about thirty
- 22:12Speaker 3: one miles and he wasn't just completing them. He was
- 22:16Speaker 3: averaging a three hours and forty eight minutes per race,
- 22:20Speaker 3: and he broke the overall record by more than four hours.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Tough, yes, demanding, Yes, breaking that record amazing. Now the
- 22:30Speaker 2: travel was even tougher. We hear after each race, long
- 22:35Speaker 2: flights and I don't know, you can't really rest when
- 22:37Speaker 2: you're running, you know, an ultra marathon, I mean, because
- 22:40Speaker 2: you have to get off the plane and go do
- 22:42Speaker 2: it all over again.
- 22:43Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 22:43Speaker 2: But he focused on the grind and he stayed focused
- 22:46Speaker 2: on being flexible took it one race at a time
- 22:48Speaker 2: and Boom set that goal. If you think a goal
- 22:52Speaker 2: is out of reach, you need to listen to this
- 22:54Speaker 2: story on repeat. Michael's mindset is simple.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Commit to it, don't get overwhelmed, and focus on your
- 23:00Speaker 3: next step. And if you want to read more about
- 23:02Speaker 3: the story than made our Monday, you can find it
- 23:04Speaker 3: on the Toby and chilipage at washfm dot com.
- 23:07Speaker 2: And if you run into Michael somewhere in Arlington, no
- 23:10Speaker 2: pun intended, hear what we did there. Let them know
- 23:12Speaker 2: we said thanks for inspiring us this morning. Stay with

- 25:23Speaker 3: They won twelve gold medals thirty three total medals, second
- 25:27Speaker 3: only to Norway. Now the big highlight was the US

- 25:34Speaker 3: yesterday morning. That's their first Olympic hockey gold since nineteen eighties.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Miracle on ice. Forecast for today the snow ends this morning,
