- 0:00Speaker 1: Guys. Here we are our last break of the day
- 0:03Speaker 1: on this Friday. Yes, hey, you know we were talking
- 0:08Speaker 1: about the menoring camp that I had recently, huh, And
- 0:12Speaker 1: he coincided with a couple of things. Because there's a
- 0:18Speaker 1: different boy that gets off the bus than that used
- 0:21Speaker 1: to get off the bus seventeen years ago. It just
- 0:26Speaker 1: he is man. And we've had to mentor them differently
- 0:31Speaker 1: because it's just a softer boy. You know, it's just different. Man.
- 0:38Speaker 1: You can't I can't mentor them the way I used
- 0:41Speaker 1: to do. I had the tough love approach. I had
- 0:45Speaker 1: to soften it because it's just been too much for them.
- 0:50Speaker 1: So I've had to make your adjustments. A couple of
- 0:53Speaker 1: things I talked to the young man about because they're very,
- 0:56Speaker 1: very bright man. And I was asking him because I
- 1:01Speaker 1: don't have the ability to do it. I'm not of
- 1:03Speaker 1: the age group and I'm not of the genre. And
- 1:08Speaker 1: I was talking about hip hop, and I was talking about, man,
- 1:12Speaker 1: when are we going to redo the way we do
- 1:17Speaker 1: hip hop? When are we going to take it back
- 1:20Speaker 1: to it was original roots of hip hop. I never
- 1:24Speaker 1: heard anybody saying talk about black women discouragingly and mistreating
- 1:31Speaker 1: or abusing and degrading black women in their music when
- 1:35Speaker 1: it first came out. But as hip hop evolved, the
- 1:41Speaker 1: regulations went out the window, and all of a sudden,
- 1:46Speaker 1: we just was degrading black women all day long in
- 1:50Speaker 1: the music. Man to black women, have no respect in
- 1:53Speaker 1: our music. We just don't do it. And I was
- 1:56Speaker 1: asking the young people, when can y'all stop this and
- 1:59Speaker 1: turn it away? Because y'all these y'all are the new
- 2:02Speaker 1: content creators. You all are the new producers. When y'all
- 2:08Speaker 1: gonna stop that and say, hey man, we ain't putting
- 2:09Speaker 1: that in no more, it ain't gonna hurt you to
- 2:12Speaker 1: take it out. Disrespecting black women should be out, but
- 2:18Speaker 1: it's not. I can't make it happen. I don't produce
- 2:21Speaker 1: no music. I don't buy none of that, so I
- 2:24Speaker 1: can't bring about the calls and effect. I'm too old.
- 2:28Speaker 1: You're not gonna listen to me, but y'all will listen
- 2:32Speaker 1: to each other. And at one point in time, young brothers,
- 2:37Speaker 1: we're gonna have to put the respect back in the game.
- 2:39Speaker 1: We're so disrespectful that the black girls in rap now
- 2:44Speaker 1: they don't even respect each other. You talk about your
- 2:48Speaker 1: own self and your own body like it's a piece
- 2:51Speaker 1: of property. It's just don't make no sense to me. Man,
- 2:56Speaker 1: y'all got to do something about this. I have noticed
- 3:00Speaker 1: that you all are starting to dress a lot better.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I'm looking at the red carpets that come along now
- 3:06Speaker 1: to be ets. Y'all coming down that carpet looking like something.
- 3:11Speaker 1: It'd be cool if you acted like that. And look, man,
- 3:13Speaker 1: I ain't coming down on you telling you exactly what
- 3:15Speaker 1: you need to do, but but you need to do something.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I can't see it. So you know you know you
- 3:23Speaker 1: need to do something, y'all because we can't continue this
- 3:27Speaker 1: way because we're hurting ourselves. And that leads me right
- 3:31Speaker 1: on into social media. I can't believe, man, how we
- 3:39Speaker 1: go out of our way to destroy one another on
- 3:43Speaker 1: social media. And look, man, once again, y'all, look, I
- 3:49Speaker 1: know I'm of an older generation. I got that. I'm
- 3:53Speaker 1: even past unk now because cats that's forty years old,
- 3:56Speaker 1: y'all call them unk. So I I don't know what
- 3:59Speaker 1: what goir I fit into, but I do care, man,
- 4:03Speaker 1: I care about young people. I've been They did the numbers, man,
- 4:07Speaker 1: of how many young men's lives I've affected over the
- 4:11Speaker 1: period that I've been doing it personally with at my camps.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Twenty five thousand boys, twenty five thousand boys. They gave
- 4:24Speaker 1: me the numbers yesterday. Man, I put tears in my eyes.
- 4:29Speaker 1: So it's not like I'm coming at you from a
- 4:30Speaker 1: perspective of I'm just sitting on my high horse and
- 4:34Speaker 1: I ain't doing nothing about it. I'm trying to help, man,
- 4:37Speaker 1: But I can't get to you all musically, and I
- 4:41Speaker 1: can't get to you all on social media because I
- 4:44Speaker 1: am not current enough. I ain't never been in hip hop.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I got nothing to do with hip hop. I don't
- 4:51Speaker 1: control it. I enjoyed it, and at the same time,
- 4:55Speaker 1: I dislike it. But I'm participating in social media. I
- 5:00Speaker 1: enjoy it, but there's so much of it. I dislike.
- 5:03Speaker 1: We have got to stop destroying ourselves while they sit
- 5:08Speaker 1: back and watch and laugh. When do we stop cheering
- 5:13Speaker 1: for each other? When do we stop celebrating each other?
- 5:19Speaker 1: Shikari Richardson, Man, they jumped on her so bad when
- 5:22Speaker 1: that uh, when she got suspended for the doping incident.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Now she back winning and she she a little sadd
- 5:30Speaker 1: and by the way she got treated. And I don't
- 5:32Speaker 1: blame her, and they still don't give her propers. They
- 5:37Speaker 1: still don't give her props on CNN, I mean, on
- 5:40Speaker 1: a sports center, none of that. That girl is cold.
- 5:45Speaker 1: We don't cheer for each other no more. Now when
- 5:49Speaker 1: we do get into a position where we are something,
- 5:53Speaker 1: we gotta watch what we do and say two, don't
- 5:56Speaker 1: get up there and forget now because minute ago you
- 6:00Speaker 1: wasn't nothing. Now you something, and now you don't care
- 6:03Speaker 1: no more. Because we are still the only race of
- 6:07Speaker 1: people that's responsible for the actions of each other. We
- 6:10Speaker 1: are still the only race of people who are accountable
- 6:14Speaker 1: to everybody else in the race. Sorry, that's just who
- 6:17Speaker 1: we are. But we got to stop destroying each other
- 6:20Speaker 1: on social media, and we have got to stop destroying
- 6:23Speaker 1: each other on in our music and the young people,
- 6:26Speaker 1: y'all know how to do this. Man, I'm just asking
- 6:29Speaker 1: you show me. I'll help you that. We got to stop.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Those are a clothing moth. Gy have a great day
- 6:35Speaker 1: to day to talk to God today. You'd absolutely love
