Mastodon’s long-awaited return is here — their new album Marrow Deep drops August 28, marking their first full-length since 2021 and their first as a five-piece with fresh guitar and keys. Produced in Atlanta with Patrik Berger and Kurt Ballou, the sound is raw, hungry, and unmistakably Mastodon. Their second single, “Snakes for Dinner,” features Josh Homme — a reunion of sorts, since he also appeared on “Colony Of Birchmen” back in 2006. More guest spots are coming soon. But the band also confronts a heavy chapter: guitarist Brent Hinds, who left in March 2025, passed away last summer at 51…
