- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the garage because it's too cold
- 0:30for me to be outside and dark. It's just it's absolutely
- 0:34unbelievable. Yesterday was unbelievable.
- 0:36Today is unbelievable. And it looks like we're going to
- 0:38be in this pattern for quite some time.
- 0:40So in any event, let's talk about breakups.
- 0:45Now there are many people out there who are already settled in
- 0:49their relationships and they go, oh, why is she talking about
- 0:51breakups? But I'm not just talking about
- 0:53the breakup of your intimate relationship.
- 0:55I'm talking about any kind of breakup with a client, with a, a
- 1:00spouse, a partner, a friend. Anytime that we have conflict as
- 1:04a human or a breakup, we which we may view as a conflict
- 1:10doesn't always have to be, but we may view it that way.
- 1:13We have reactions to it and those reactions that we have can
- 1:19be very sticky. They're like Velcro.
- 1:21They, they go on everything and we end up taking that stuff
- 1:27wherever we go, however we feel about it, even if the breakup is
- 1:31mutual, even if the distance is mutual, this happens.
- 1:35So very recently I was talking to a client about the fact that
- 1:39she had been working with someone for a very long time.
- 1:42She felt like they were trusted, you know, that they were going
- 1:46to always use her in her service.
- 1:49And then all of a sudden, out of nowhere comes the conversation
- 1:53of, listen, I have decided I'm not going to do this anymore.
- 1:57And this was really shocking to her.
- 2:00She felt like what? I have helped you through so
- 2:04many things. I've done so many things.
- 2:06And, you know, the business that she's in is very complicated.
- 2:10So her skills are unique. And all of a sudden this comes
- 2:16like out of nowhere and it's stick.
- 2:18These things stick and they stay on you and it and it doesn't
- 2:22mean that you can't get past it. But the point I'm I'm going for
- 2:27here with this is that when they are on you, you are taking them
- 2:31wherever you go and you're interrupting the good energy
- 2:34that is coming to you. Because you're going to hear me
- 2:37say this a lot this year. Nothing is more important than
- 2:41the consistent energy you remain in.
- 2:44If your energy is being pulled off to the side, you're going to
- 2:49keep making variations in your trajectory.
- 2:53So if you are trying to get somewhere in your company, your
- 2:56work, your hobbies, whatever it might be, your creativity, and
- 3:00you keep making slight variations to left, just a
- 3:03little bit, just small degrees, you're going to end up somewhere
- 3:07completely different. Just like if a plane takes off
- 3:09from Boston and it is heading to Los Angeles and it keeps making
- 3:14slight variations to the left as it's flying, even though they're
- 3:18incremental, they're going to end up in San Diego or Mexico.
- 3:22Because by the time you get there, those variations, while
- 3:25they're so small, they add up over time.
- 3:28And that actually is the beautiful fact about being
- 3:30consistent with your actions. If you're consistent with your
- 3:33actions over time, they all add up to great things.
- 3:36But you have to be ultimately consistent.
- 3:40Like I'm talking ridiculously consistent.
- 3:43And the most consistent one that affects you is your mood, is
- 3:48your energy, is your, is your emotions.
- 3:50What emotion are you in? How are you feeling?
- 3:53So when we say shake it off, this is one of those times where
- 3:56you really have to shake it off. Because if she's consistently
- 3:59worrying about the fact that this person is no longer going
- 4:01to use her company and her service, and that means that
- 4:04she's going to end up going to somebody else, they're going to
- 4:07end up taking care of her. And that's all my client was
- 4:10obsessing on like who is she going to use?
- 4:12Who is she going to go to? Where is she going to go?
- 4:15Because she wouldn't say what company she was going to use
- 4:17instead. And it just spiraled and before
- 4:22you know it, I mean, we all have people that do this.
- 4:24I had, I have people that stop working with me and then they go
- 4:27to someone else. That's the nature of people.
- 4:30I mean, it's, it's just true. And while I try to do my
- 4:33ultimate best every time I'm coaching somebody, sometimes
- 4:36there are, you know, factors that come into it.
- 4:39Maybe something changed in their life and they're moving and they
- 4:42don't want to work in a different time zone.
- 4:43Had that one happened not long, long ago, It was too, too much.
- 4:47Just couldn't deal with a huge time zone change.
- 4:49I mean, and when you move and it's an 8 hour time difference,
- 4:52it's a big deal. So some things happen, it just
- 4:55happens. And you've got to make sure that
- 4:59you're doing something to for yourself to not have your brain
- 5:02go and start attracting something that you don't want,
- 5:06which is more people moving away from you or more confusion in
- 5:09your writing or your creativity or whatever else is happening.
- 5:12But it all starts with you inside because you have that
- 5:16internal state, you have the ability to calibrate that energy
- 5:20going in a specific direction. It's you and you alone.
- 5:24So I suggest that you look at it, you work at it, and you make
- 5:28sure you control it. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:31you have a blessed day. Stay warm.
- 5:33I'm going to work on it and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:36Bye.
