- 4:18Speaker 2: There's always new stuff. You just got to keep people updated. Hey,
- 4:20Speaker 2: what's going on. Here's some quick hitters. Here's how to
- 4:23Speaker 2: engage with this because we do we Derek, and Derek
- 4:26Speaker 2: spends a bunch of time figuring out all the comments
- 4:28Speaker 2: we're gonna read. I'll scroll through and take screenshots on
- 4:31Speaker 2: the from Spotify, like I'm looking at a couple of
- 4:33Speaker 2: Spotify ones right now. I got Charlie up here. Let's
- 4:38Speaker 2: go boys headed to work straight from the gym and
- 4:40Speaker 2: listening to the pod hashtag pt fit jazz T just
- 4:44Speaker 2: jazz TPT six chimes in pitter patter up and add
- 4:48Speaker 2: her hashtag pt fit. Dexter Hampton representing hashtag pt fit
- 4:54Speaker 2: this weekend in deadlifting at the Arnold ex Bow in Birmingham, England.
- 4:58Speaker 2: When life gets heavy and shit won't budge, just pull
- 5:00Speaker 2: harder LFG. So you just you're trying to You're trying
- 5:05Speaker 2: to hit all the angles you like. You want to
- 5:06Speaker 2: let people know we do listen, we do look at
- 5:08Speaker 2: a lot of things. We do try to be intentional
- 5:10Speaker 2: with our community because they're intentional with us. Yes, how
- 5:13Speaker 2: do you give them a bowload of information. Oh there's
- 5:15Speaker 2: also new people tuning in. How do you just introduce
- 5:18Speaker 2: what the show is to them? And then you need
- 5:20Speaker 2: the community, Like when we say, hey, introduce yourself in
- 5:22Speaker 2: PT sixers chime in, welcome them in, like let them
- 5:25Speaker 2: know that we are this is family.
- 5:27Speaker 3: This is family. I saw one this weekend that got
- 5:33Speaker 3: my piss hot. To quote Will Compton, this got my
- 5:36Speaker 3: piss hot. This came from Nick Giles, friend of BW.
- 5:42Speaker 3: He's a Tier one. He's also a sicko. He recently
- 5:45Speaker 3: just changed his handle to PT Sicko Nick. So first off,
- 5:50Speaker 3: shout out there. Operation week long family trip to Cabo
- 5:54Speaker 3: was a success. Two boys two and seven months old
- 5:57Speaker 3: and a wife who is like to who likes to
- 6:01Speaker 3: be prepared for anything, which means we had enough luggage
- 6:04Speaker 3: for a small army.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Uh.
- 6:07Speaker 3: He tacked PT Siko, he tacked PT six. He's pulling
- 6:11Speaker 3: like five roller bags and I'll send that to you, chef.
- 6:15Speaker 3: But seeing that dude unsolicited right, like we didn't put
- 6:19Speaker 3: out an Any dads going on vacation, make sure to
- 6:23Speaker 3: tack us. Any dad's working out this morning, make sure
- 6:25Speaker 3: to tack us hashtag beaty fit. Just love of the game.
- 6:29Speaker 1: It's just love the game.
- 6:30Speaker 2: It's like, oh, there's a platform out there to let
- 6:33Speaker 2: my fellow pt sichos. No, yeah, that we're in it
- 6:36Speaker 2: right now, because traveling with a couple of kiddos is
- 6:38Speaker 2: no joke. No, you are wheeling and dealing five six
- 6:41Speaker 2: massive bags. Yeah, hoping the two year old, he said,
- 6:44Speaker 2: two and seven hoping the two year olds riding on
- 6:46Speaker 2: one bag, other ones in the stroller. Maybe you got
- 6:49Speaker 2: a double shoulder. Hey, we taking the shroller all the
- 6:50Speaker 2: way up. We checking it doesn't fit on the plane,
- 6:52Speaker 2: do we got to check it before we go through security.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Doesn't fit on the plane. We have a shoulder that
- 6:57Speaker 2: does fit on the plane. So we'll get it going
- 6:59Speaker 2: all the way up to uh to the gate. But
- 7:02Speaker 2: you're making all these decisions, all right? Which bags are you?
- 7:05Speaker 3: Which?
- 7:05Speaker 2: Which ones are we carrying on? You have to take
- 7:07Speaker 2: these two? I'll take these two. Yeah, you're go I
- 7:09Speaker 2: have two at a time. Yeah, what's the one that
- 7:11Speaker 2: can fit under the that can fit under the seat.
- 7:13Speaker 2: What's the one that's overhead? Can't we sneak an extra
- 7:15Speaker 2: one overhead? Maybe if the maybe if the little waitress
- 7:17Speaker 2: lady isn't looking, and I did, big dad loss. I
- 7:22Speaker 2: didn't account for it for this episode we just started,
- 7:26Speaker 2: so we just haven't had it.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Man. I didn't do a roller bag this weekend on
- 7:30Speaker 3: that wedding that we went to Houston, and that decision
- 7:35Speaker 3: to go no roller bag led to a multiple multiple
- 7:41Speaker 3: situations at the airport of what the fuck was I thinking? Bro? Though?
- 7:46Speaker 2: Those one those are ones that you were kind of
- 7:48Speaker 2: looking a little bit longer in the mirror at night.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Oh, be cause it is. It's like, I'm assuming shoulder
- 7:53Speaker 3: shoulder shrap, shoulder strap, but now I have Jill's shoulder
- 7:56Speaker 3: strap that I go to put on my shoulder. It rips.
- 8:00Speaker 3: I go, honey, your bag shoulder strap just ripped. And
- 8:03Speaker 3: she said, well, don't hold it like that. Why did
- 8:05Speaker 3: why do It's? You're probably holding it wrong, great boy.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it's oh, but that's it's probably your fault.
- 8:16Speaker 3: And it probably was.
- 8:18Speaker 2: You know what, sweetheart, I am holding it wrong. I
- 8:20Speaker 2: did rip it on accent. I'll buy you a new one.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I'll buy you a new one.
- 8:22Speaker 3: It wasn't that the bag was overpacked or too heavier
- 8:25Speaker 3: anything like that.
- 8:27Speaker 2: And God forbid you drop that we'll get another one
- 8:29Speaker 2: on them. It's not about I know we can, It's
- 8:33Speaker 2: not about getting another one. It's about taking care of
- 8:37Speaker 2: the one that we have. Yeah, type shit, type shit
- 8:41Speaker 2: and hilarious. We ended up checking it because it ripped TSA.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Behind the scenes, they go to pick it up because
- 8:49Speaker 2: I slightly ripped it.
- 8:50Speaker 3: That thing fully ripped off, and they ripped it off
- 8:54Speaker 3: and just hooked it onto the bag for us. So
- 8:56Speaker 3: when we got it out of the carousel, even TSA
- 8:59Speaker 3: was like, come, I'm come on the bags of bos. Yeah,
- 9:04Speaker 3: we're not even gonna leave it. No, the thing, I mean,
- 9:06Speaker 3: it sucks. Leustn get a new one, get a new one,
- 9:10Speaker 3: get a new again.
- 9:11Speaker 2: They're not thinking, like dude, I don't even get me
- 9:14Speaker 2: started on this topic. It's I went through you know
- 9:18Speaker 2: that pair of personal sunglass to the ones that you have.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I also have.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't find the ones that I currently have.
- 9:24Speaker 2: That's my third pair. Oh no, yeah, so number one
- 9:28Speaker 2: hand out Willie boy. Everybody knows I go. I have
- 9:30Speaker 2: dad brain constantly. Yeah, brain damage up top. Played a
- 9:33Speaker 2: lot of football like things happen. I'm forgetful. Sue me, sup,
- 9:36Speaker 2: forgetful soon. But it's just like when the small things,
- 9:41Speaker 2: like a material thing I can't find or I lose,
- 9:44Speaker 2: or you damage, gets lost, whatever it is, and just
- 9:48Speaker 2: in my brain, okay, compartmentalize it. Listen, did I lose it.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I'm a big believer. Hey, it'll pop up, like, hey,
- 9:55Speaker 2: it'll pop up somewhere. A lot of the times it
- 9:57Speaker 2: pops up. Yeah, I look at Choro, I look at
- 9:59Speaker 2: my wife.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I sweeter.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I told you they were gonna pop up. She misplaced
- 10:03Speaker 2: her sunglasses like a week ago. I was like, oh,
- 10:05Speaker 2: they'll probably pop up. Well, she's not stressed and looking
- 10:07Speaker 2: for him everywhere. Hey, they're gonna pop up. They popped up.
- 10:10Speaker 2: They popped up. She found I said, hey, as a
- 10:13Speaker 2: guy who loses stuff or misplaces things, I just have
- 10:16Speaker 2: experience and let's just be optimistic. And then if you
- 10:19Speaker 2: don't find it, we'll get you another pair. We'll get
- 10:22Speaker 2: you another pair. But it's to her point, it's never
- 10:26Speaker 2: about like it's taking care of the initial one that
- 10:29Speaker 2: you have. The first pair of Prisols was a gift
- 10:30Speaker 2: from her.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I was bummed. I loved the glasses, like, there's.
- 10:34Speaker 2: No the connection I had the the optimism, the excitement,
- 10:38Speaker 2: the connection, just the joy I had that. Like my
- 10:41Speaker 2: wife got me a sick pair of sunglasses. I love them.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I cared for them until I just couldn't yep, and
- 10:48Speaker 2: I left them on a plane or I left them somewhere,
- 10:51Speaker 2: and she was heartbroken. I was heartbroken that I lost.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Nobody is a harder critic on themselves, on myself than
- 10:57Speaker 2: with than old Willy.
- 10:59Speaker 1: See.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Already beat myself up about it, but I also have
- 11:02Speaker 2: to remain strong, like, hey, we can find another way.
- 11:05Speaker 2: We can get this material thing back in our lives,
- 11:08Speaker 2: just getting another pair, another different Yes, sweetheart, you still
- 11:10Speaker 2: gave me that first pair, but that doesn't mean like
- 11:13Speaker 2: it's got to go to the grave with me. You
- 11:14Speaker 2: got to release yourself from that that connection that you
- 11:17Speaker 2: have to the material thing. Yes, where if it's all
- 11:21Speaker 2: good for me, the gift was for me. I'm fired
- 11:24Speaker 2: up about I'm bummed that they're gone. If you're seeing me,
- 11:27Speaker 2: be like, okay, I'll just grab another pair and we
- 11:29Speaker 2: can replace them if I'm good with it, Because again,
- 11:32Speaker 2: the initial gift was for me.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Wah yeah, and I'm just like, hey, this is no problem.
- 11:38Speaker 3: We'll get another one. Then, you should just know it's
- 11:41Speaker 3: all good. You don't have to lecture me about taking
- 11:43Speaker 3: care of don't hey, you know the whole like rigamaru
- 11:49Speaker 3: that you're putting me there about Oh, take care of
- 11:51Speaker 3: nice things.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Why don't you place them back right when you get home?
- 11:56Speaker 2: Just take the extra two minutes to go to your spie.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Sweetheart, you're.
- 12:01Speaker 3: You are right about that, and I do. I try
- 12:05Speaker 3: to think about those things. Yeah, but sometimes you just
- 12:08Speaker 3: just fleeing through my brain. You gotta understand these men
- 12:10Speaker 3: us men were kind of like dogs sometimes. Oh we
- 12:13Speaker 3: just forget shit, We forget you. And honey, I love
- 12:15Speaker 3: all your advice about how I need to care and
- 12:18Speaker 3: like really want to take care of something. Let's do
- 12:20Speaker 3: an exercise. I'm gonna I'm gonna really try and take
- 12:22Speaker 3: care of those glasses. Let's see if they pop up. Oh,
- 12:27Speaker 3: bought a new pair. Hide them on the sweetheart, I
- 12:29Speaker 3: found them. Oh didn't pop up up? Another sneak on
- 12:37Speaker 3: the side, get another pair, randomly find in the house.
- 12:40Speaker 3: We thought they popped up. They popped up, and in
- 12:42Speaker 3: your brain he would say, oh he found those glasses.
- 12:45Speaker 2: I'm so happy, but you wouldn't know that's the fix.
- 12:48Speaker 2: The actual strategy that went behind this.
- 12:50Speaker 3: You just need you do not need to say a
- 12:53Speaker 3: word when you lose something, and if it doesn't pop
- 12:56Speaker 3: up for three months, depends on how how hard you look.
- 13:00Speaker 3: If you're looking hard, hard for like the first few days,
- 13:04Speaker 3: then you give yourself you look hard for a couple
- 13:07Speaker 3: of days, then you give yourself a rest period, a
- 13:10Speaker 3: good like two month rest period. Will you almost forget
- 13:13Speaker 3: about him? Yeah? And then when you're yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 13:16Speaker 3: there you go. So however long that takes, you go
- 13:20Speaker 3: hard for forty eight hours trying to find it, Yeah,
- 13:22Speaker 3: then you're like, let me just relax. They'll pop up,
- 13:25Speaker 3: they'll pop up.
- 13:27Speaker 2: You go by that strategy to where you forget yup
- 13:30Speaker 2: that there are even a thing in your life.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Yep. And then when wife he's hey, did you ever
- 13:34Speaker 3: find those?
- 13:35Speaker 4: Well?
- 13:35Speaker 3: Where put Oh honey, that outfit so cute? You go
- 13:38Speaker 3: great with your parasol signed glasses. Oh you know what,
- 13:41Speaker 3: I let me go. Oh, I left them at the office,
- 13:45Speaker 3: you know what.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I did find them, but they're still they're at the
- 13:48Speaker 2: office there at the office. I just gotta go get them,
- 13:51Speaker 2: you know what, I'll go get them on Monday. Monday,
- 13:53Speaker 2: you sit your sweet ass down, you go buy a
- 13:55Speaker 2: new bear, you come back home.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I told you they'd pop up, honey. I told you
- 14:00Speaker 3: they look brand new, because I think because I love you, sweetheart,
- 14:07Speaker 3: we hold you go put a bow tie.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Yeah, like fun.
- 14:14Speaker 3: That's the dad hack.
- 14:15Speaker 2: That's a good dad that's a good hack. We got
- 14:18Speaker 2: chef team sixer chef.
- 14:20Speaker 5: I just overheard your h yesterday, your story about losing
- 14:23Speaker 5: the wallet at the office, and I thought maybe you
- 14:26Speaker 5: could rehash having you and Rue looking around.
- 14:29Speaker 3: So I lost my wallet over the weekend. It'll pop up.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I didn't lose it. I didn't lose it, and I
- 14:36Speaker 3: knew where it was. I just forgot it at the
- 14:38Speaker 3: office and and it was moved.
- 14:40Speaker 2: So you want to you want to Willie c dad experience. Yeah,
- 14:44Speaker 2: Rue got to experience it. On Sunday, Rue and I
- 14:47Speaker 2: did a breakfast state daddy daughter like we're going to
- 14:49Speaker 2: take Rue. We ended up at Stay Golden. Oh nice,
- 14:54Speaker 2: ended up at Stay Golden, great spot.
- 14:57Speaker 3: You won me over?
- 14:59Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, you with me in Rover at Stake gold.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I have a little coloring sheets, like it's just probably good.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Fine.
- 15:05Speaker 2: So morning started out, I'm thinking Okay, I got a
- 15:09Speaker 2: box of stuff that I need to bring to the
- 15:11Speaker 2: shop that I've been hoarding kind of in my truck
- 15:13Speaker 2: or in the garage.
- 15:13Speaker 3: My wife's like, you know, when are you going to
- 15:15Speaker 3: take this stuff?
- 15:16Speaker 2: I laid it all out. I laid all this stuff
- 15:18Speaker 2: out next to your bed. Yeah, I got you. I
- 15:22Speaker 2: need to get going with taking the box of the shop.
- 15:24Speaker 2: You laid it out next to the bed.
- 15:25Speaker 3: You didn't need to do that, but apparently you did
- 15:27Speaker 3: because now I'm going to take them to the shop. Yeah.
- 15:30Speaker 2: So we're about to go on this Daddy, daughter to eight,
- 15:34Speaker 2: don't have my wallet, don't have my money clip a
- 15:37Speaker 2: little wallet deal. But I'm thinking my head, I'm not
- 15:40Speaker 2: going to say this out loud because it'll pop up.
- 15:42Speaker 2: It'll pop up, and I know where they are. I'm
- 15:44Speaker 2: not just going to add an extra step. I'm not
- 15:45Speaker 2: going to add an extra conversation before we leave the
- 15:47Speaker 2: house because I'm like, I left my wallet at the shop.
- 15:50Speaker 2: It's gonna be like you misplaced things all the time.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yeah, So I get ruined the car, massive box and
- 15:56Speaker 2: then Dad, I was the box of the car. We're
- 15:57Speaker 2: going to go somewhere first before we go to breakfast.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna take her to Buttermilk Ranch down
- 16:02Speaker 2: in twelve South. So we go over drive here to
- 16:05Speaker 2: the office. Yeah, my daddy's gotta drop off a couple things.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Can I go to the seat the bus with you?
- 16:08Speaker 2: Can I do this with absolutely bumbuckler?
- 16:11Speaker 1: Get her out? We walk in that side.
- 16:12Speaker 3: You're a fun dad, fun dad. Let's have some fun
- 16:15Speaker 3: with this, Okay, go in, Hey, ru hold the door open, dad,
- 16:17Speaker 3: I'll take the box in. You'll help that out. And
- 16:19Speaker 3: then we got to find my wallet. I in this
- 16:21Speaker 3: at this part of the story. I know where my
- 16:23Speaker 3: wallet is. It's sitting on the island.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Right when you walk in to the right, right where
- 16:27Speaker 2: you left it, right where I left it, right where
- 16:30Speaker 2: I left it.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Yeah, come in, kind of look around, don't see it.
- 16:34Speaker 2: But I've forgotten things so much in my life, and
- 16:37Speaker 2: I've misplaced things so much in my life to where
- 16:40Speaker 2: now I'm questioning myself, Do I really.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Know that I left it right here? Do you do?
- 16:45Speaker 1: Dads out there?
- 16:46Speaker 2: Do you guys feel me like when I'm saying this
- 16:48Speaker 2: out loud or if you're looking at me on YouTube
- 16:50Speaker 2: right now?
- 16:51Speaker 3: Will and can I just rephrase that maybe for some
- 16:54Speaker 3: other dads, please, cause there are some other dads where
- 16:57Speaker 3: other people have moved those things, or maybe usually their
- 17:02Speaker 3: wife has moved those things. It's not that they forgot. Yeah,
- 17:06Speaker 3: I don't forget where I put my things. My wife
- 17:08Speaker 3: just moves my thing. There was.
- 17:10Speaker 2: I don't want to get off, I don't want to
- 17:11Speaker 2: get sidetracked, So please please bring me back on after
- 17:15Speaker 2: I just tell this quick keep going. Charle came after
- 17:18Speaker 2: me one time about a charger. Turned out, I was right.
- 17:21Speaker 2: She found her charger because she thought I took the
- 17:24Speaker 2: charger because I've had a history of taking her charger
- 17:25Speaker 2: and using it. She just thinks, what'd you do with
- 17:28Speaker 2: my charger? I didn't do anything this time? You're going
- 17:32Speaker 2: back and forth. Eventually she found the charger that night
- 17:35Speaker 2: and was like, oh, I forgot that place in here.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Oh you forgot.
- 17:39Speaker 3: I just had to take several bullets to the head.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Because again, when you start forgetting, when you have a
- 17:46Speaker 2: history of misplacing and forgetting, you kind of can't trust yourself. Yep,
- 17:51Speaker 2: when you feel very confident and it's no longer there. Yeah,
- 17:54Speaker 2: So going into the situation back in the shop, I
- 17:57Speaker 2: could have swore I put it on the island. But
- 18:01Speaker 2: now that it's not there and I'm looking at all
- 18:02Speaker 2: these different places, I'm like, what did I do with it?
- 18:07Speaker 3: Where did it go? Oh?
- 18:08Speaker 2: Well, fortunately for Christmas, my wife got me those little
- 18:12Speaker 2: air tags. Yeah, so I pull out my phone, the
- 18:14Speaker 2: little find my app. No way for these reasons, for
- 18:18Speaker 2: my keys, yeah, wallet, like for all the little things
- 18:21Speaker 2: that I could forget that.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I'm like, put an air tag. I gotta get one
- 18:24Speaker 3: of those.
- 18:25Speaker 2: And so I bring it out. But the service is
- 18:27Speaker 2: the signals not connecting. However, it's updating and to find
- 18:30Speaker 2: my app saying like five minutes ago, eight minutes ago
- 18:33Speaker 2: that it's in the vicinity of the shop. So now
- 18:36Speaker 2: I'm going a little bit crazy. I'm like, let's go
- 18:38Speaker 2: check the bus side. We come over here, we're looking
- 18:40Speaker 2: on the for the dad set. We go on the bus.
- 18:42Speaker 2: We're looking on the bus. I turn it into a
- 18:44Speaker 2: game with rue because internally I'm thinking where is this
- 18:47Speaker 2: thing at? Because you know how the logo can kind
- 18:49Speaker 2: of move one point, it could be out in the
- 18:51Speaker 2: middle of the street. Next it's like the shop. It's
- 18:53Speaker 2: not like figuring out the signal exactly.
- 18:55Speaker 3: I end up Rue and.
- 18:56Speaker 2: I go back and forth from this side of the
- 18:59Speaker 2: shop behind this wall, there's another side of the shop.
- 19:02Speaker 2: You got to go outside through the doors. We go
- 19:04Speaker 2: back and forth through both sides of the shop seven times,
- 19:07Speaker 2: and then it gets so deep that I'm in the
- 19:10Speaker 2: back alley. I'm looking out by the road because it's
- 19:13Speaker 2: showing the little logo that it can be on the road,
- 19:16Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, did someone break in?
- 19:18Speaker 1: Yeah, We're just like where is this at?
- 19:21Speaker 2: I look in my truck again because my truck is
- 19:23Speaker 2: parked in the in the area, and I'm thinking, could
- 19:25Speaker 2: it just be in my truck? But Ru and I
- 19:26Speaker 2: we're playing a detective game now trying to find it.
- 19:29Speaker 2: We spend about forty five minutes here at the show
- 19:31Speaker 2: Wow looking for the wallet because I'm thinking like, yeah,
- 19:35Speaker 2: they probably do Apple Pay, but usually when you're sitting
- 19:37Speaker 2: down at a restaurant, I always use my card, So
- 19:39Speaker 2: I'm just thinking, you want to give them the card.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I don't want to feel like a weirdo. And I'm like, hey,
- 19:42Speaker 2: you guys got Apple Pay. I'll just you can come
- 19:44Speaker 2: over to the table and I'll tap it.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Some people do that. Listen, people I know I'm overthinking.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I'm also thinking I just need to find the wallet
- 19:50Speaker 2: because I can't go back and back. I don't know
- 19:51Speaker 2: where my walls, So my wife, I can't just say
- 19:53Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Where my walls. Will pop up.
- 19:55Speaker 2: It'll pop up and eventually we're in the back air,
- 20:00Speaker 2: like in a corner, back where your desk is. Okay,
- 20:03Speaker 2: and uh, it picks up a week signal and then
- 20:06Speaker 2: it says it's like thirteen feet away.
- 20:08Speaker 3: So I'm like following the arrow.
- 20:10Speaker 2: I'm walking around and it's like pointing at the wall
- 20:13Speaker 2: to where it shows that it would be outside behind
- 20:15Speaker 2: the wall. So again I go back outside and go
- 20:17Speaker 2: around and I'm like, look on the ground. I'm like,
- 20:20Speaker 2: how did this thing get outside? But then it's not
- 20:22Speaker 2: picking up the signal when I'm outside, so me and
- 20:24Speaker 2: I'm like, we got to run back, we got to
- 20:25Speaker 2: run back. We go loving this. I'm sure Drew asked
- 20:28Speaker 2: me where'd you put your wallet last sweetheart? That thought
- 20:33Speaker 2: he put it right on the on the island. She
- 20:37Speaker 2: points out a couple of things on the island. She's like,
- 20:39Speaker 2: is it that?
- 20:40Speaker 3: No, sweetheart, that's a good guess, that, ain't it. I
- 20:42Speaker 3: like pick it up. It would be like a glasses case.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, something that you can like button their
- 20:47Speaker 3: velcrow over.
- 20:48Speaker 1: No, it's not that, it's not that.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 20:50Speaker 2: She's helping me. She's we're running back and forth. Well
- 20:53Speaker 2: that when you're gonna find it, sweetheart, we're looking. You
- 20:55Speaker 2: just got to keep rocking with dad. We're detectives right now.
- 20:57Speaker 2: You got to start asking better questions. Oh, thinking where
- 21:01Speaker 2: could this be? Could it be over here? Could it
- 21:03Speaker 2: be under there? She's checking in between seat cushions with me.
- 21:05Speaker 5: Mm.
- 21:06Speaker 2: But we get to where you hear this faint noise
- 21:08Speaker 2: where it finally connects to it again, and I hear it,
- 21:11Speaker 2: and she's like, Dada, I think it's down here, like
- 21:13Speaker 2: down on her level. So I like put the eight
- 21:15Speaker 2: feet and I put it down toward the rue.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Says it's three.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Feet away, and then she's like, Dad, I think it
- 21:20Speaker 2: could be in here and points at the file cabinet
- 21:24Speaker 2: and I'm listening. You can hear the little beeping noise. Yeah,
- 21:27Speaker 2: my sweetheart, you're right, it's in the file cabinet. I
- 21:31Speaker 2: try unlocking it with the keys that were on top.
- 21:32Speaker 2: It didn't work, which I was thankful for because I'm thinking,
- 21:34Speaker 2: if the keys are just right here on top of
- 21:36Speaker 2: the thing that's locked, like we're not the boys aren't
- 21:38Speaker 2: doing a great job at keeping something safe. Yeah, and
- 21:41Speaker 2: then I just thought my head, Ryan probably found it
- 21:44Speaker 2: sitting on the island, and now it's in the file cabinet.
- 21:47Speaker 2: We can't get in. She was a little like, we
- 21:50Speaker 2: got to get it out. I'm like, sweetheart, it's all good.
- 21:52Speaker 2: At least we know that it's safe and that it's here,
- 21:53Speaker 2: and that no matter what Dadad knows that when we
- 21:56Speaker 2: go home and you tell mom this story about me
- 21:58Speaker 2: lose my wallet, she's gonna look at I mean, oh,
- 22:00Speaker 2: dadd had lost his wallet. And I can look at
- 22:02Speaker 2: her and be like, it's in the file cabinet, it's
- 22:04Speaker 2: at it's at work.
- 22:05Speaker 3: It's at work. It's safe.
- 22:06Speaker 1: It's totally safe if those at home.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Ryan works here at the shop. He is a ptsicico
- 22:13Speaker 3: in an st sicico's body. Yeah, mature st sico, mature stico.
- 22:20Speaker 3: He's not he's not a pt sick. No. No, I'm
- 22:23Speaker 3: just saying he's the like maturity wise, he's there.
- 22:26Speaker 2: So again, Mom and Scottie they go and do their thing.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Mom just thinks we're going on a breakfast date. We're
- 22:32Speaker 2: not stopping by the shop. We're not doing all this stuff.
- 22:34Speaker 2: We get to the shop at nine, at nine o'clock,
- 22:37Speaker 2: it's nine forty five. Now to when we're leaving to
- 22:39Speaker 2: go to get breakfast. I'm like, we're gonna go to
- 22:41Speaker 2: Buttermilk Ranch. We're gonna see how long if there's gonna.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Be a wait?
- 22:43Speaker 2: Yeah, going parking twelve South, run across the street. Have
- 22:47Speaker 2: a little fun while we're going over there. Listen to
- 22:49Speaker 2: some music, some tunes. Going to Buttermilk Ranch. We walk in.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I'm holding her hand. It's just me and my daughter,
- 22:54Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, excuse me, now, like how long
- 22:56Speaker 2: is the wait here? Just us two? And I like,
- 22:58Speaker 2: point down. I want to make sure she sees that
- 22:59Speaker 2: I'm with my little girl. Like maybe they're cute little girl, Yeah,
- 23:02Speaker 2: cute little girl. Like maybe you can fast track us.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Yeah, you see this daddy daughter to I think she
- 23:06Speaker 3: made a little guess how long the wait was our
- 23:11Speaker 3: twenty two and a half hours? Oh, two and a
- 23:14Speaker 3: half hours.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I said two and a half hours, and she said, yeah,
- 23:18Speaker 2: I'm sorry, sir, And I said, good for you.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Guys.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I said, well, we're gonna We're gonna go somewhere else.
- 23:24Speaker 2: I said, that's good for you guys. Two and a
- 23:26Speaker 2: half hour weight, that's unbelievable. And there's some movie theater
- 23:28Speaker 2: down the street. We could go cut to the go o'clock.
- 23:31Speaker 2: We go watch the Titanic before you guys are ready perfect.
- 23:35Speaker 3: So we leave.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Hete buttermilk ranch ain't gonna work. She's like sipping on
- 23:38Speaker 2: her bottle. She's got milk in her botle. She's like, Dad,
- 23:40Speaker 2: now I'm drinking milk. And that place is called buttermilk.
- 23:43Speaker 2: I love butter too and buttermilk. I was like, yo,
- 23:47Speaker 2: you are operating right now. Hey Harvard, Uh, we got one.
- 23:51Speaker 2: She's like, Dad, when are we gonna get breakfast? I
- 23:53Speaker 2: was like, oh, sweetheart, we just we gotta go across town.
- 23:55Speaker 2: We're just gonna go to State Golden because I know,
- 23:57Speaker 2: Stay Golden. That's that's old faithful right there. You can
- 23:59Speaker 2: trust that there's not gonna be a massive crowd of
- 24:00Speaker 2: Stay Golden. Great spot, great coffee, great.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Food, fastball down the middle, fastball down the middle.
- 24:05Speaker 2: We go to State Golden. We rip, we have a
- 24:07Speaker 2: great time. But that entire story she's debriefing Mom on it.
- 24:12Speaker 2: When we get home. Mom's just saying, that's just another
- 24:14Speaker 2: Tuesday for dadda. She said that, well, wait and joking fun, Okay, yeah,
- 24:20Speaker 2: good lighthearted, because it is the truth. It's like you
- 24:23Speaker 2: never know what you're gonna get when you're going around
- 24:25Speaker 2: with old willy See.
- 24:25Speaker 3: But willy See, I do want to say it makes
- 24:27Speaker 3: me sad that your brain goes to, where the hell
- 24:30Speaker 3: did I put this thing when it wasn't where you
- 24:32Speaker 3: last placed it? Right, Yeah, And I don't think you're
- 24:35Speaker 3: wrong in that, but like just.
- 24:37Speaker 2: To let people know, Ryan did text me later that
- 24:40Speaker 2: night just to update me and say, hey, I just
- 24:42Speaker 2: want you to know tomorrow when you come into work
- 24:44Speaker 2: your wallet. I found it out the other day cleaners
- 24:46Speaker 2: and people were coming in, so I saw it.
- 24:48Speaker 3: I wanted to grab it. It was on the island.
- 24:49Speaker 2: I just put it in the fog cabinet and I
- 24:51Speaker 2: was like, I knew it was on the I knew
- 24:53Speaker 2: it was in the island.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Surean, before you give him too much credit, And we're
- 24:57Speaker 3: growing as man, We're growing as a man. We're going
- 24:59Speaker 3: to miss same week of the iPad incident, and so
- 25:02Speaker 3: I just I just want to say out loud, we're
- 25:05Speaker 3: growing as men before you say somebody moved it. Will
- 25:08Speaker 3: You're okay, I need to do my job to call
- 25:11Speaker 3: out and say this is the same week as the iPad.
- 25:14Speaker 3: I love you, will well, I you know, do you
- 25:19Speaker 3: want to tell him that one?
- 25:20Speaker 1: I'm just thinking right now.
- 25:21Speaker 2: My wife's listening to this and she's laughing and enjoying that,
- 25:24Speaker 2: like all right, yeah, they're not all yes men around him.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Well by the company. And here here's the only note
- 25:31Speaker 3: that I was gonna give him. Okay, could he tighten
- 25:35Speaker 3: the screws, certainly, But uh, I would love for your
- 25:40Speaker 3: mindset to be where I am currently. I kind of
- 25:44Speaker 3: live in this blissful world that, uh, Jill moved it. Joe,
- 25:49Speaker 3: what Jill moved it? I didn't lose it. Jill just
- 25:53Speaker 3: moved it. Yeah, it's kind of a it's a fun
- 25:57Speaker 3: little place.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Choices that we're talking about right now. Well, there's no
- 26:01Speaker 2: cop out.
- 26:03Speaker 3: The iPad's way different too.
- 26:05Speaker 1: So did we talk about the iPad.
- 26:07Speaker 3: We have been after the episode aired, So you had
- 26:10Speaker 3: a fun time on X talking about it. We haven't
- 26:12Speaker 3: talked about it here. Do you want to tell people? Yeah,
- 26:15Speaker 3: because you know, there's a lot of beet sticos right now.
- 26:17Speaker 3: They only rock Facebook. They don't rock all the apps.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Uh, what the boys are referring to is I I
- 26:24Speaker 2: broke my iPad and I left my iPad on my
- 26:27Speaker 2: truck in the driveway.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I was taking Rood of school. I buckled her in.
- 26:32Speaker 2: We were having a great time doing kiss three squeezes,
- 26:35Speaker 2: like playing a little game as I picked her up.
- 26:37Speaker 2: As I pick her up, She's like, Daddy, can you
- 26:39Speaker 2: look me up in the truck. And I'm like, Sweater,
- 26:40Speaker 2: you can't climb up in the truck. You do it
- 26:41Speaker 2: all the time. So I'm like, okay, you know Dad
- 26:44Speaker 2: has got you. I take my iPad and set it
- 26:46Speaker 2: on the tailgate right next to the back door, leaning
- 26:50Speaker 2: down pick up route. We do our thing, and she
- 26:53Speaker 2: like tells me to do somewhere. I like run around
- 26:55Speaker 2: to the other side like that, and we got to go.
- 26:56Speaker 2: The dinosaurs is gonna get us. Okay, so I'll close
- 26:59Speaker 2: the door. Okay, okay, I close the door, I run
- 27:01Speaker 2: around the front side, I get in the truck, I
- 27:03Speaker 2: back out. I drive her to school. iPad falls off.
- 27:06Speaker 2: iPad breaks in the middle of the road. I don't
- 27:09Speaker 2: know all this went down until I get to the
- 27:11Speaker 2: shop and realize I forgot my iPad. I left my
- 27:13Speaker 2: iPad at home, so I hit up I hit up borrow.
- 27:17Speaker 1: In any of the house. I'm like, hey, did I
- 27:19Speaker 1: leave my iPad at the at home?
- 27:22Speaker 3: And she calls me and she's like, hey, I don't
- 27:25Speaker 3: see it anywhere, and I'm like, I had it in
- 27:27Speaker 3: my hand.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:29Speaker 2: I was like I could have, like if it was
- 27:31Speaker 2: if I didn't bring it in my truck. Because it's
- 27:32Speaker 2: not in my truck, then surely I just left it
- 27:35Speaker 2: on the island.
- 27:36Speaker 3: It's all the island. Surely I just left it on
- 27:38Speaker 3: the island. I don't see it.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Anywhere, and I'm like, I'm trying to pull up my
- 27:42Speaker 2: fine may but it's not connecting to my app. It's
- 27:45Speaker 2: not connected to the app. Maybe it's out of range
- 27:48Speaker 2: because it's like a Wi Fi iPad. And then I
- 27:51Speaker 2: showed that it updated and it's shown it in the
- 27:53Speaker 2: middle of the road. I was like, hey, can you
- 27:55Speaker 2: can you look outside and see if it's outside like
- 27:57Speaker 2: in the driveway. Now I'm scared. Now I'm thinking I
- 27:58Speaker 2: drove off without it and it was sitting on my tailgate.
- 28:01Speaker 2: It's all coming to life now in my head. And
- 28:04Speaker 2: then she goes, I see something in the middle of
- 28:05Speaker 2: the road. It seems like it could be okay, but
- 28:08Speaker 2: it's on the yellow lines in the middle of the road.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Let me go check.
- 28:11Speaker 2: She sent me a couple of photos. Chef, you can
- 28:13Speaker 2: put the photos up. Whole iPad was broken.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Derek had a great suggestion for the nanny too on
- 28:21Speaker 3: how you fix it.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sitting with them.
- 28:23Speaker 2: I'm sitting in the shop, back in the shop with
- 28:25Speaker 2: the boys, and I'm kind of updating them that, Hey,
- 28:27Speaker 2: I found my iPad. It's showing how shattered it is.
- 28:30Speaker 2: And Derek's like, tell her to put in some rice
- 28:34Speaker 2: and just plug it into charge and try to do a
- 28:35Speaker 2: hard restart.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Put in some rice and let's see if we can
- 28:39Speaker 3: get it back to life. Will I tried to plug
- 28:42Speaker 3: the charger in, but the charging hole is microscopic now
- 28:45Speaker 3: because it's so pinched in. I don't know if I could. Yeah,
- 28:49Speaker 3: you don't even put it in some rice? Did?
- 28:51Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 28:51Speaker 2: Tough beats. Look I hand up Sumi. I am the
- 28:54Speaker 2: dad that is forgetful. I'm the dad who misplaces things.
- 28:58Speaker 2: I don't have to be. Some people have their growth
- 29:00Speaker 2: minded like Lillie boy, don't talk to yourself like that.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Now you can say I'm a guy who takes care
- 29:04Speaker 2: of things and just start talking to your stuff differently.
- 29:06Speaker 2: I am you are up to this point, I've been
- 29:08Speaker 2: a guy that misplaces stuff, I forget stuff. I'm the
- 29:11Speaker 2: dead that comes in and there's a stain on my
- 29:13Speaker 2: shirt and it's just like, I sweet, what do you want.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Me to do?
- 29:16Speaker 2: And who are you now? I'm now a guy who
- 29:20Speaker 2: who's very responsible. Yeah, who takes care of his things.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:24Speaker 2: That tells other dads now that does that? Do have trouble?
- 29:28Speaker 2: I just tell them, Hey, man, it only takes your
- 29:30Speaker 2: thirty extra seconds.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Do this? Yeah?
- 29:33Speaker 2: Or bro, why you have so much? Why do you
- 29:34Speaker 2: have such a problem like leaving stuff everywhere? Like, just
- 29:37Speaker 2: make sure you put it back where you found it.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:39Speaker 2: If you're gonna take your sunglass off, put them in
- 29:40Speaker 2: your backpack or you know, buy a new pair two
- 29:44Speaker 2: months later once you remember.
- 29:46Speaker 3: I like that. I like that?
- 29:49Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 29:51Speaker 3: What else? Man?
- 29:52Speaker 2: We just kind of went on the Willie experience there
- 29:54Speaker 2: and then went out to pop a team six. What's
- 29:55Speaker 2: will like as a father? You just got a crash
- 29:57Speaker 2: course morning on a Sunday.
- 29:59Speaker 3: That was fair. It wasn't even noon when we got home.
- 30:02Speaker 3: That was fabulous, well done and a lot of growth there,
- 30:07Speaker 3: a lot of growth.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Thanks man.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Derek doesn't agree with you, Well, a lot of growth
- 30:14Speaker 3: there in Dereck Trison. But the only reason I remembered
- 30:16Speaker 3: it is because you said, you know, the apple tag
- 30:18Speaker 3: can put it anywhere, it can put it in the
- 30:20Speaker 3: middle of the street was a sentence you said when
- 30:22Speaker 3: looking for your wallet. Ye, And I was like, what
- 30:24Speaker 3: he's got experience in that category is the only so
- 30:27Speaker 3: you triggered my respect. I would have totally forgotten. I'm
- 30:31Speaker 3: so glad you brought that up when I got the
- 30:34Speaker 3: When I.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Got the new iPad, I'm thinking, do I just need
- 30:35Speaker 2: to get a date iPad so that way, if I
- 30:38Speaker 2: do lose in it it's out a range of Wi
- 30:39Speaker 2: Fi and not connected, I'll still be able to find it.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Is that what you did, that's the problem. I'm already
- 30:44Speaker 3: preparing for the worst. That's what that's all Dad's do, though, dude,
- 30:48Speaker 3: you're right, prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Yeah,
- 30:50Speaker 3: that's good, that's good. You're right and that's what I
- 30:54Speaker 3: didn't do at the airport. We were talking about the
- 30:57Speaker 3: roller backs.
- 30:58Speaker 2: That's honestly a that's a weird mistake by you, very
- 31:04Speaker 2: that's a weird mistake for a bet sixer who has
- 31:07Speaker 2: and when you got a pod, you have eight months
- 31:08Speaker 2: experience now like you've been you've traveled with the family,
- 31:12Speaker 2: like you understand what the operation looks like. Yep, that's
- 31:15Speaker 2: the shit that you had going last week where the
- 31:17Speaker 2: guys like, it's not task oriented. You have to take
- 31:20Speaker 2: on the mental load in a different way, like do
- 31:22Speaker 2: you need a roller back or do you need a
- 31:24Speaker 2: straft back? Are you just waiting for mom to figure
- 31:26Speaker 2: it out for you?
- 31:27Speaker 3: And dude, I probably on this show when I went
- 31:30Speaker 3: to Waco for that football game, when we traveled with
- 31:33Speaker 3: Scarlett when she was only like what eight weeks old,
- 31:38Speaker 3: I was bragging about my roller bag and how you
- 31:41Speaker 3: need it. It's a dad hack blah blah blah. That's
- 31:43Speaker 3: one where if I'm we're if we're watching ball and I'm.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Coaching some tape and we're in the linebacker room, yeah,
- 31:49Speaker 2: and you're not seeing the poler and I'm just staying
- 31:52Speaker 2: to myself.
- 31:53Speaker 3: That's unlike you. Yeah, you always see the poler. You
- 31:56Speaker 3: always see the light hand. You're alert in the pooler
- 31:58Speaker 3: before the play even starts. Uh. And for you to
- 32:01Speaker 3: not see the puller, I would ask you what's going on? Yeah?
- 32:07Speaker 1: Is everything all good? School good?
- 32:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 32:09Speaker 2: Relationships going well with the girlfriend, yeah, any drama with
- 32:14Speaker 2: the family right now, because we need you on point
- 32:16Speaker 2: when we play on Saturday. And who who is the
- 32:18Speaker 2: guy that you were giving notes to?
- 32:20Speaker 3: You? And that tweet that I put out, which which
- 32:23Speaker 3: the tweet where I was like, I fucking love seeing
- 32:25Speaker 3: Willie see you on the sideline talking to this player,
- 32:28Speaker 3: because I've gotten that same talk from will Yeah, I
- 32:32Speaker 3: was giving notes to somebody, I think in that thing
- 32:35Speaker 3: in in the comment section, no, no, in the in
- 32:38Speaker 3: the video, yeah, Sue Craven's see. I love. The one
- 32:44Speaker 3: thing that you always do is you you find something
- 32:47Speaker 3: that like that person's been championing or championing for the
- 32:52Speaker 3: last like couple of weeks in the office. And let's
- 32:56Speaker 3: say I'm a big wheel, uh suitcase guy. You'll give
- 33:00Speaker 3: me the notes of like you're falling short, blah blah blah,
- 33:02Speaker 3: and then you do this like two finger point to
- 33:05Speaker 3: somebody you go because you're a you're a big wheel
- 33:08Speaker 3: suitcase guy, always talking about the wheel suitcase. But I
- 33:13Speaker 3: don't see it. Like I love how you find something
- 33:17Speaker 3: that they're like really passionate about it. It's like you
- 33:19Speaker 3: talk this way, why aren't you walking it? Yeah, yeah,
- 33:22Speaker 3: I don't see it. I needed that at the airport,
- 33:27Speaker 3: and I'll attribute it to Jill got me this really
- 33:32Speaker 3: sick gift that it's like a she got on the
- 33:34Speaker 3: TikTok shop. I'm pretty sure. But it's a suitcase that's
- 33:38Speaker 3: like a what are the things that you put your
- 33:41Speaker 3: suits in those fabric covers for like your suits to
- 33:45Speaker 3: travel with you out like a suit cover? Yes, called
- 33:48Speaker 3: suit cover suit cover And it's a suite cover that
- 33:51Speaker 3: then zips into a duffle bag that you can pack
- 33:54Speaker 3: stuff in, so it's all in one. And I think
- 33:57Speaker 3: that I just got like really really excited I did
- 34:00Speaker 3: about traveling with that for the first time, which it
- 34:03Speaker 3: was epic to have that, and it's carry on size. Yeah,
- 34:08Speaker 3: but I was like, now that I have everything in
- 34:10Speaker 3: this one thing, I don't even need my roller bag. Dude,
- 34:14Speaker 3: you want a dad hack, bring the fucking roller bag,
- 34:18Speaker 3: bring it. Repeat that hack, repeat that hack. You need
- 34:23Speaker 3: the roller bag, Go ahead, tell me, tell me a
- 34:26Speaker 3: reason why we don't need the roller bag. Just anything like.
- 34:29Speaker 2: The reason why we don't need the roller back and
- 34:31Speaker 2: just tell me like, oh, you know, because the reason
- 34:33Speaker 2: you don't need the roller bag is if you're trying
- 34:35Speaker 2: to get in the doghouse, you need the roller bag.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be ding ding ding, That would be right.
- 34:41Speaker 3: Oh oh you were saying, you saying, hey, you don't
- 34:43Speaker 3: want to use the roller bag, a reason to not
- 34:45Speaker 3: use the roller bag in the doghouse, ding ding ding
- 34:48Speaker 3: ding ding. I was thinking more like, oh, roller bags
- 34:50Speaker 3: aren't manly. You don't want to bring a.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Roller bag for the reason being you want to be
- 34:55Speaker 1: a piece of shit.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Father, And you know too, there's Dad had there's some
- 35:02Speaker 3: great videos out there on fooling your suits in a suitcase.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that one, that one tickled you.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Take a right now. You need to just when you
- 35:09Speaker 3: see it Dad in the airport without a rollerbag, just
- 35:12Speaker 3: make sure to tell him you fucking piece of shit,
- 35:15Speaker 3: you piece of shit. He's got a kiddo with them,
- 35:18Speaker 3: little hey, what a piece of shoot you at? I
- 35:22Speaker 3: bet she changes all the diapers too. Bless your heart, sweetie,
- 35:26Speaker 3: you put up with that go lee unless they're old
- 35:29Speaker 3: enough and you can rock carry ons. Yeah, she got
- 35:31Speaker 3: her own little backpack. Yeah, yeah, you know what I mean. Yes, surem.
- 35:34Speaker 5: Did you at least do the classic take the uh
- 35:38Speaker 5: the woman's bag at home and make sure it's under
- 35:42Speaker 5: fifty pounds kind of by just judging.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Yeah, like, that's a classic. That's a classic dad move.
- 35:48Speaker 3: That's a that's a dad's take pride.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and grabbing that roller bag, lifting it up
- 35:55Speaker 2: and be like, I think you're gonna be good.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Well, and a very sweet lady working the ticket aisle.
- 36:02Speaker 3: We were at fifty like point two, been there and
- 36:05Speaker 3: she was like, technically you're over, but we had a
- 36:08Speaker 3: little scarlet right here. Technically you're over, and they will
- 36:12Speaker 3: say something when you're flying back. I'm not going to
- 36:15Speaker 3: say anything about it, sweetie, hagging bag, y'all. Just make
- 36:17Speaker 3: sure you move, you know, one or two things into
- 36:20Speaker 3: into dad's bag. I like doing the move where it's
- 36:24Speaker 3: a pound over.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Charl gets the suitcase down, undoes the suitcase and while
- 36:29Speaker 2: she's down there trying to maneuver between suitcases, trying to
- 36:33Speaker 2: balance the weight while everybody else is waiting light. Now
- 36:35Speaker 2: we're holding up everybody else. I like just standing there
- 36:37Speaker 2: with the kiddo saying, I told you so.
- 36:42Speaker 3: I love doing that. I tried telling you, is it
- 36:46Speaker 3: all in the bras? Honey? Did you pack too many
- 36:50Speaker 3: bra Hers will be like fifty two and mine will
- 36:53Speaker 3: be like thirty four. Maybe I told you. Maybe it's
- 36:57Speaker 3: that eighth pam high heels in the I like trying
- 37:01Speaker 3: to guess which item is gonna be the one we
- 37:03Speaker 3: pull out. That one's like one point three pounds. You
- 37:05Speaker 3: can take that out and put that over and then
- 37:07Speaker 3: we'll be good for it.
- 37:08Speaker 2: And then you just start commentating and just looking at
- 37:11Speaker 2: their bag for the first time, like you know, we're
- 37:13Speaker 2: just going to dinner.
- 37:15Speaker 3: You could you could wear that hoodie right now, and
- 37:17Speaker 3: we're just gonna be outside.
- 37:18Speaker 2: We're just gonna be outside barbecue in the whole time.
- 37:20Speaker 2: I don't know why you got four different heat bears
- 37:22Speaker 2: and heels from there.
- 37:25Speaker 3: You always try to look so pretty with that. With that,
- 37:33Speaker 3: you're still shaking the.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Ruse four years old for three years old, she's forty pounds.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Mama, Mama's always trying to look pretty. What's up with
- 37:51Speaker 3: she's trying to always make herself look nice. How dumb
- 37:53Speaker 3: is that you look at the ticket, lady, I'm a
- 37:58Speaker 3: riot with their friends of friends, wal I'm all riot.
- 38:01Speaker 1: We'll be a few more minutes back there.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Excuse me?
- 38:05Speaker 1: Can we get another one of these open?
- 38:07Speaker 3: Like Telly?
- 38:07Speaker 1: We got people.
- 38:08Speaker 3: Wait, my wife's pad's over fifty guys, he gets it,
- 38:14Speaker 3: he gets it. A little pet siko back there, or
- 38:16Speaker 3: if it's fifty point two, they didn't want to allow fifty.
- 38:19Speaker 2: We're gonna get a couple ounces out and then you
- 38:21Speaker 2: just you hit him with the Dan Hurley just four.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Heead to forehead on the lady working behind the desk.
- 38:25Speaker 2: What's your name, sweetheart, Shelby.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Yeah, Shallby's guys, she's sticking real close to the fifty pound.
- 38:31Speaker 3: Thanks Shelby. Make sure you come to this booth. Yeah,
- 38:35Speaker 3: but that's what that's what good dads do. Yeah. Yeah,
- 38:39Speaker 3: for the dad's man, for the dad's weird, for the dads.
- 38:42Speaker 3: Do you want to jump into some follow ups from
- 38:45Speaker 3: last week? Let's hit a couple of comments. Let's hit
- 38:48Speaker 3: a couple comments.
- 38:49Speaker 2: I got one right here from Jonathan Vella on Spotify.
- 38:51Speaker 2: I'm no scientists but if kids mouths are fifty percent
- 38:54Speaker 2: the size of an adults, they only got a brush
- 38:56Speaker 2: for fifty percent of the time.
- 38:58Speaker 3: One minute it is, and well I do one minute? Yeah,
- 39:01Speaker 3: so thirty seconds. Yeah, yeah, that's perfect.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Clump sent me a funny button. He told me about
- 39:07Speaker 2: this from the episode last week. We were talking about
- 39:10Speaker 2: brushing the kiddo's teeth and how Rue favors her dad
- 39:12Speaker 2: brushing her teeth because dadad does it faster, and then
- 39:15Speaker 2: Mama catches me and doing it for like.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Twelve fifteen seconds at a time.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Did she sue or why she doesn't sue? She does
- 39:22Speaker 2: a sue? Okay, good, you know it's just for a blashing.
- 39:26Speaker 2: So where we go to bed alone at night?
- 39:30Speaker 3: Uh, joking, joking.
- 39:31Speaker 2: When he sent me this button, Clump sent me this
- 39:33Speaker 2: button that he's like, Lens wanted me to send you
- 39:35Speaker 2: this Clump's wife And it's like this button that you
- 39:38Speaker 2: press and then it'll it'll blink and go ding ding ding,
- 39:41Speaker 2: like when the timer's up for brushing teeth, Like, oh yeah,
- 39:44Speaker 2: let me get one of those. Oh that's let me
- 39:46Speaker 2: let me systematize brushing teeth now, yeah, that's gonna be great.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Let's put another added layer to dad today. Yeah, let's
- 39:53Speaker 2: let's do another step of trying to get root out
- 39:54Speaker 2: for bed.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Yeah, just another constant reminder is something kind of bad
- 39:58Speaker 3: as Yeah, that's perfect. I do have a ride in
- 40:02Speaker 3: from I believe Green Bay Packers running back. Josh Jacobs, Yeah,
- 40:06Speaker 3: Josh jah. Josh Jacobs on Spotify, he wrote in Josh
- 40:11Speaker 3: Jacobs said, mock the girl, dad hat. Don't be shocked
- 40:13Speaker 3: when the nine iron comes out at you like Tiger's
- 40:16Speaker 3: ex wife and your ass is swimming in the pool
- 40:19Speaker 3: in the pond. Yeah, thanks Josh Jacobs. Josh Jacobs, that's sick.
- 40:25Speaker 3: I can't believe he listens to the show.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Yeah, he must have put that. He must have dropped
- 40:29Speaker 2: that comment when the episode came out. Yeah, then you
- 40:31Speaker 2: see what happened over the weekend with.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Tiger and they're like, oh, hoddy buddy, this comment's gonna
- 40:36Speaker 3: hit like crack. Josh Rob Rob W seventy eight on
- 40:44Speaker 3: YouTube also said sure, I'm also dealing with a see
- 40:48Speaker 3: issues right now. Good good, the same issues you are.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Good thing. I'm in Ohio. So it was seventy degrees
- 40:55Speaker 3: one day ac motorstopped working then thirty degrees the next day.
- 41:00Speaker 3: That's ideal for the heat going out. Ordered a new
- 41:04Speaker 3: motor came in yesterday. The fan was literally rusted permanently
- 41:07Speaker 3: to the old motor shaft. Good. Good. That means a
- 41:11Speaker 3: full replacement. He'll probably say that ordered a fan and
- 41:14Speaker 3: it should arrive tomorrow, just in time for attempts to
- 41:16Speaker 3: rise back to the upper seventies. You'll learn once you
- 41:21Speaker 3: purchase your house most things are easier to fix than
- 41:23Speaker 3: you think, and there are a ton of resources on
- 41:26Speaker 3: the internet. Rob w seventy eight quick note from him
- 41:31Speaker 3: essentially to break down all the acns that he just spoke.
- 41:37Speaker 3: If you have an AC unit and you are a
- 41:39Speaker 3: believer in YouTube University, those parts are doable to fix yourself,
- 41:45Speaker 3: which is what Michael that AC repair guide was essentially
- 41:48Speaker 3: telling me. Hey, once you own your own house and
- 41:50Speaker 3: this is your unit, there's really only like four to
- 41:53Speaker 3: five parts that you need to learn, and like four
- 41:56Speaker 3: to five little what's it called symptoms that you need
- 42:02Speaker 3: to learn to be able to diagnose what's wrong with
- 42:05Speaker 3: your AC unit and then you're not having to pay
- 42:08Speaker 3: somebody else to fix it.
- 42:09Speaker 1: That is the game YouTube University.
- 42:11Speaker 2: The game It's like when something's broken, it's gotten to
- 42:14Speaker 2: the point that as a dad, you are now in
- 42:18Speaker 2: the process of do I make the decision to jump
- 42:22Speaker 2: on YouTube and figure this out?
- 42:23Speaker 3: Because I know I know that I can. Yeah, you
- 42:27Speaker 3: did it with your God, my brain's not working today,
- 42:32Speaker 3: generator generator, Yes, your gunner the GAINNERAC five thousand. Yeah, yeah,
- 42:38Speaker 3: I called my uncle up watch some YouTube videos and yeah,
- 42:42Speaker 3: I kind of had to because the ice storm was
- 42:43Speaker 3: coming and nobody was gonna be working on the weekend.
- 42:45Speaker 3: It kind of popped up, Yeah, kind of like thrusting
- 42:48Speaker 3: me to like, hey, buddy, you better figure this out. Yeah,
- 42:50Speaker 3: before the ice storm fully hits and you war without power.
- 42:55Speaker 3: But yeah, that's such a good point because you can
- 42:58Speaker 3: figure all this shit out. It's just like you're sitting
- 43:00Speaker 3: there on the couch, beautiful day of the game's on,
- 43:02Speaker 3: like don't want to let you don't call somebody And
- 43:04Speaker 3: to the dad that's saying next to his wife right
- 43:06Speaker 3: now hearing me say that, and it's gone if you dude.
- 43:10Speaker 3: But there are days being like they're on it. Oh,
- 43:14Speaker 3: there are some dads.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Like all these all these pieces of shit dads out there.
- 43:17Speaker 3: They can't fix their own stuff, like it ain't that hard.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Ain't that hard? And I just went all to say,
- 43:24Speaker 3: I'm one of those pieces of shit dads. I have
- 43:26Speaker 3: YouTube university, but I need to do more of it. Yeah,
- 43:29Speaker 3: because it is like that's a real.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Dad's knowing how simple it can be. That's where they
- 43:35Speaker 2: in their mind think like should I just start my
- 43:37Speaker 2: own business. Yeah, there's enough people out there that need
- 43:40Speaker 2: help with their acus because they just don't want to
- 43:42Speaker 2: take the time to learn about it.
- 43:43Speaker 3: But it's quite simple. We do just a very quick
- 43:46Speaker 3: note and I know we're we're kind of flying through.
- 43:49Speaker 3: We're under an hour.
- 43:50Speaker 1: This is good vibe, this is good vie. We're keeping
- 43:52Speaker 1: it under an hour.
- 43:53Speaker 3: Today we received some gifts from John Malecki, who is
- 43:58Speaker 3: a YouTube creator, a pod caster, a former Pittsburgh Steeler,
- 44:03Speaker 3: a former Pittsburgh Panther. There's a pit guy. Derek has
- 44:08Speaker 3: some connections with some of his team. We were thinking
- 44:11Speaker 3: of ways to get involved with them, and one way
- 44:15Speaker 3: that we've just kind of put into the ether this
- 44:17Speaker 3: is an official is they have some like building kits
- 44:22Speaker 3: for cornhole, like you know, building kit to build your
- 44:26Speaker 3: own cornhole set, and they're thinking about sending one of
- 44:29Speaker 3: those to you and me and having us build it,
- 44:32Speaker 3: and you got to build it from scratch with the tools.
- 44:39Speaker 3: I'm gonna be there with you. We're doing it together.
- 44:41Speaker 3: We're a team, dude.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I know you want me to build a corn hoole
- 44:46Speaker 1: set from the round up.
- 44:48Speaker 3: I got to do it too. I'm not I'm no woodworking.
- 44:52Speaker 3: You're kind of a handy man. Like I said on YouTube, University,
- 44:57Speaker 3: you're much quicker.
- 44:57Speaker 1: To get on the ladder than old Willie wants you.
- 44:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:59Speaker 3: Yeah, but like the meme of THEU you son of
- 45:03Speaker 3: a bitch and then we go like that, we're that's
- 45:05Speaker 3: gonna be us, dude. Okay, we'll be there together. I mean,
- 45:08Speaker 3: shout out, shout out, John Malecki. That would be fun.
- 45:12Speaker 3: Shout out. But look, look for that in the future.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Look for that in the future. Yeah, all right, I'll
- 45:19Speaker 3: build a corn hole.
- 45:21Speaker 1: I'll build a house.
- 45:22Speaker 3: And if we don't sue us. I'm always good for.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Like, uh, seeing my wife's making dinner for the night
- 45:29Speaker 2: and she'll be, hey, honey, can you can you chop?
- 45:32Speaker 1: Can you chop this tomato?
- 45:33Speaker 2: I'm quick to be like, oh, so now I'm making
- 45:35Speaker 2: dinner She'll do everything else every other step of the process.
- 45:39Speaker 2: But once she like I gotta do one thing, it's like, okay,
- 45:41Speaker 2: so now I'm basically making dinner.
- 45:43Speaker 1: I thought you was making dinner.
- 45:44Speaker 3: Will after your Oh you need some help, let you
- 45:48Speaker 3: let me just take over all the chili's in the
- 45:51Speaker 3: pod and I just I just pick up can you
- 45:54Speaker 3: stir the kay I'm making dinner? I always stir it. Yeah,
- 45:58Speaker 3: it always starts with stirring. And then it's like, oh, well,
- 46:01Speaker 3: we do need some garlic if you want to get
- 46:02Speaker 3: a like mint some garlic for me.
- 46:04Speaker 1: So I thought you were doing dinner tonight.
- 46:08Speaker 3: The baby's just covered in biss and it's ball. What
- 46:11Speaker 3: are you doing?
- 46:13Speaker 1: What's up, chef?
- 46:14Speaker 5: I was just gonna say, after your garage, hang up
- 46:17Speaker 5: the the racks to put everything on. Part of me
- 46:21Speaker 5: felt like you you've got a sense of accomplishment out
- 46:23Speaker 5: of that. Part of me goes, he might if he
- 46:27Speaker 5: can buy in a little bit more, whether it's Cornhill boards,
- 46:29Speaker 5: we might get you a little bug of being like,
- 46:32Speaker 5: oh yeah, this is fun to learn how to make.
- 46:34Speaker 3: It's in there. It's just consistency, you know. But I'll
- 46:37Speaker 3: tell you this.
- 46:38Speaker 2: I was on the garage yesterday, clearing it all out,
- 46:40Speaker 2: because Sore Necks is coming in outfit the gym today
- 46:42Speaker 2: like Papa Team. Fit's gonna be fully up and running
- 46:44Speaker 2: here by the end of the week. Come on, Treadmill's
- 46:46Speaker 2: getting in there. We got the entire operation, all the boys,
- 46:48Speaker 2: American made steel, just in the garage, sore Necks.
- 46:53Speaker 3: You're putting the jerseys up.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Jerseys are going up, and you know what I was
- 46:57Speaker 2: about to say, I'll hang the jerseys, but I might
- 46:58Speaker 2: not hang the jerseys, but I'm the jerseys are getting up.
- 47:01Speaker 3: Don't have to hang the jerseys. Don't have to hang
- 47:03Speaker 3: the jerseys.
- 47:03Speaker 2: But it's gonna be looking right, bro. Yeah, we're gonna
- 47:06Speaker 2: we're gonna be ready to rock. That's gonna be fun. Yeah,
- 47:09Speaker 2: it's gonna be fun. They're at the house right now.
- 47:11Speaker 2: But I'll say it cleared out the garage yesterday, got
- 47:13Speaker 2: Rue sweeping brooming with me, sweeping out the leaves, getting
- 47:16Speaker 2: everything cleaned up. She was operating, Scotty was just getting
- 47:20Speaker 2: into everything else.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Scotty, no, no, no, get off that.
- 47:25Speaker 3: She's grabbing the forty pounds dumbbells already and just.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Trying to climb on everything. Bro Scotti is just I
- 47:31Speaker 2: call her a menace, but she's a minace.
- 47:33Speaker 3: Bro. Yeah, and she's cleany right now.
- 47:35Speaker 2: I'll say this, I fully now that I've had two kiddos,
- 47:39Speaker 2: my favorite age or month that takes place is sixteen months.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Sixteen months, that's when like their personality comes out. She's
- 47:48Speaker 2: starting to like talk, you know what I mean, Like
- 47:51Speaker 2: can you say Mama?
- 47:51Speaker 1: Can you say Dad?
- 47:52Speaker 3: Can you say waffle?
- 47:53Speaker 1: Can you say ru?
- 47:53Speaker 3: Rue?
- 47:54Speaker 2: And she does all of her little broken language to where,
- 47:56Speaker 2: say she wants a pouch for a snack, I'll give
- 47:58Speaker 2: her a pouch, I'll open it up, I'll throw the
- 48:00Speaker 2: cap and attraction and I handed to her and as
- 48:02Speaker 2: I handed to her down low, she'd be like taku tacu,
- 48:06Speaker 2: like saying thank you, Like she's like getting stuff to
- 48:08Speaker 2: where the sixteenth month and it was the same with Rue,
- 48:11Speaker 2: and I've always been like, oh, sixteen month, I felt
- 48:13Speaker 2: that's when the personality comes out. This happened with Scotty
- 48:15Speaker 2: and it's kind of just reinforcing that. I love when
- 48:17Speaker 2: they get around that sixteenth month mark because if you're
- 48:20Speaker 2: starting to engage more, she's clingy as shit, she's a tackler.
- 48:24Speaker 2: She's great at angles. She's great at like stay on
- 48:29Speaker 2: maneuver and like again being clingy. She's very good at
- 48:33Speaker 2: seeking you out like a missile and grabbing your leg
- 48:37Speaker 2: and then getting to where she gets both legs and
- 48:38Speaker 2: her head is in between your kneecaps, just kind of
- 48:40Speaker 2: like yelling and moving like she wants you to pick
- 48:43Speaker 2: her up. It's scotty, I'm trying to operate right now.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Please sit over here, Please play with your toys. But
- 48:47Speaker 2: she just wants to be around you at all the time.
- 48:49Speaker 2: She Harry Klingey love her to death, dead apth.
- 48:54Speaker 3: But she's all over the place. Man I do. I
- 48:57Speaker 3: don't want to jump into like crack of cole One
- 48:59Speaker 3: too fast, but I have very fun crack a cold
- 49:01Speaker 3: crack that I'm like really excited about.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Thank you, ollipop, Thank you ollipop. Crack the cold one.
- 49:09Speaker 2: We can hit the cold ones.
- 49:10Speaker 3: This crack a cold one is about as Chris as
- 49:13Speaker 3: this Chris Apple. I had my first connection, like my
- 49:19Speaker 3: first little quote unquote thing with Scarlet over the wedding weekend.
- 49:24Speaker 3: I'll give it quick shout out, no free shout out
- 49:27Speaker 3: to mother in law Lisa came and Clutch again drove
- 49:31Speaker 3: down to Houston to babysit Scarlet to allow mamas and
- 49:36Speaker 3: dad as to go to rehearsal, dinner and wedding and
- 49:40Speaker 3: have some fun some quote unquote fun where you get
- 49:43Speaker 3: in the car and you're like, we're doing it, dude,
- 49:46Speaker 3: without the kid o and like not to not to
- 49:48Speaker 3: celebrate it, like in an inappropriate way, but like, dude,
- 49:52Speaker 3: I had a lot of fun on Friday, Like Jill
- 49:55Speaker 3: and I are dancing. We're we're in the little party
- 49:59Speaker 3: bus thing that they are taking because she was a bridesmaid,
- 50:03Speaker 3: and we're riding along and one of the groom or
- 50:05Speaker 3: the groom is an LSU grad and is from Baton
- 50:08Speaker 3: Rouge and dude, they call them the boot beats, like
- 50:12Speaker 3: rap music from Louisiana, bounce music. Yeah, and they have
- 50:16Speaker 3: the boot beats going in the party bus. They played
- 50:18Speaker 3: neck in the party bus. Brother, I haven't felt that
- 50:22Speaker 3: young in a minute. It was really really fun. So
- 50:25Speaker 3: shout out Mama Lisa for that. I do want to
- 50:27Speaker 3: give her her props. But over the weekend on Saturday morning,
- 50:33Speaker 3: when I had a lot of fun on Friday, I
- 50:36Speaker 3: had to dig in because Jill is gone on Saturday
- 50:40Speaker 3: to go do all the wedding prep, the hair, the makeup.
- 50:45Speaker 3: They have the matching pajamas. They do the TikTok dance
- 50:49Speaker 3: like video.
- 50:51Speaker 2: You got the clipboard, you got the headset. It's on you.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Nobody's coming to save you.
- 50:55Speaker 1: I'm on.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Oh and you and you were up all the night before.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Good yeah, hungover? Good? Yeah. You had probably the most
- 51:04Speaker 3: alcohol that you've had in a year. I really have
- 51:06Speaker 3: been drinking in a year and a half when Jill
- 51:08Speaker 3: got pregnant. And it wasn't any conscious decision. So your
- 51:12Speaker 3: boys feel in some type of way on Saturday morning.
- 51:15Speaker 3: You're older, I'm older. I'm older, and I got locked in.
- 51:19Speaker 3: So I lock in. And as I'm playing with Scarlett,
- 51:24Speaker 3: I just have her on the bed facing me and
- 51:26Speaker 3: I'm facing her, and we got a little TV in
- 51:29Speaker 3: the background just for some noise. We're playing with stuff,
- 51:33Speaker 3: and she has been doing the on her own, and
- 51:38Speaker 3: so I hit her with a and she goes and
- 51:44Speaker 3: kind of loaders her head and siles at me and
- 51:46Speaker 3: goes and I go, WHOA, hold on, hold on, hold on, yeah.
- 51:52Speaker 3: I wait a good twenty seconds because I want her
- 51:54Speaker 3: brain to go away from that, and I go and
- 51:59Speaker 3: she goes right back to me. I go, hold on,
- 52:05Speaker 3: hold on, hold on, because there's a lot of there's
- 52:08Speaker 3: a lot of stuff that babies do. You don't know
- 52:11Speaker 3: if there's any rhyme or reason. Mama, Lisa's hanging out
- 52:15Speaker 3: with Scarlett. I said, you know, I was kind of
- 52:16Speaker 3: working with something with her this morning where I make
- 52:20Speaker 3: a little fart noise, she makes one back. Lisa goes, really,
- 52:24Speaker 3: I go, yeah, And now pressure's on. She's like, well,
- 52:29Speaker 3: then do it, dad, if you're so good. I'm like
- 52:32Speaker 3: halfway across the room, I go, Scarlet, Scarlet, and she's
- 52:37Speaker 3: slowly turns over to me and I go and she goes, no, shit, yes, yes,
- 52:47Speaker 3: And it was incredible, dude. I'm just I want that communication.
- 52:53Speaker 3: You know how much of a talker I am. And
- 52:54Speaker 3: I love like being able to communicate with people, and
- 52:58Speaker 3: I'm so starved of it with Scarlet because she can't
- 53:00Speaker 3: talk yet. And just that little taste, dude. And then
- 53:05Speaker 3: we got home and on actually last night, I went
- 53:10Speaker 3: to go pick her up from daycare and I'm trying
- 53:12Speaker 3: not to overdo it. I don't want to be that
- 53:14Speaker 3: dad that's like oh, do the dance, do the dance,
- 53:16Speaker 3: and then they don't want to do the dance anymore.
- 53:19Speaker 3: I was putting her to bed last night and we're
- 53:21Speaker 3: laying on her rug and I hit her with a
- 53:24Speaker 3: little and she didn't smile back, but she went back.
- 53:30Speaker 3: Damn dude. It was incredible.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Hey guys, what a convo? Yeah, you and scarscar.
- 53:36Speaker 5: Yeah, let's take five. We have a camera overheating. I
- 53:39Speaker 5: mean to cool them off.

- 53:45Speaker 3: pet Sichos. We have a short little at break for
- 53:50Speaker 3: a really awesome product. We introduced them last week. Nan
- 53:54Speaker 3: It is our newest sponsor to for the dads. Nana
- 54:01Speaker 3: is a product that is I don't want to say
- 54:05Speaker 3: near and dear to my heart because that sounds a
- 54:07Speaker 3: little too you know, but like I believe in this
- 54:10Speaker 3: product so much because Jilly Bean and I, my wife,
- 54:14Speaker 3: use it daily. Have the Nana app truly right here
- 54:19Speaker 3: on my phone that I'm using all the time at work,
- 54:23Speaker 3: on the go when we're traveling to check on Scarlet
- 54:27Speaker 3: as she's sleeping. A really fun way that we were
- 54:30Speaker 3: able to use the Nana app this weekend is we
- 54:34Speaker 3: traveled you'll hear in the episode to Houston for a wedding,
- 54:38Speaker 3: and Nana has an actual travel kit that you can
- 54:42Speaker 3: take your nanecam on the go and be able to
- 54:45Speaker 3: check your sweet little baby as she sleeping in the
- 54:47Speaker 3: hotel room. It works everywhere. It just helps you be
- 54:52Speaker 3: at ease when your baby is at home and you
- 54:56Speaker 3: might not be. And it helps you be at ease

- 55:56Speaker 2: We're still on Crackit Coal one. My Crackit Coal one
- 55:58Speaker 2: this week goes to Rue Happy Birthday. Rue Ru turns
- 56:03Speaker 2: four on Friday, on April third. It's a Rue fish
- 56:07Speaker 2: half years old?
- 56:09Speaker 3: Real how you damn you know, mixed emotions.
- 56:15Speaker 2: You're happy and sad at the same time, Like you're
- 56:18Speaker 2: so fired up and happy because I can just tell
- 56:22Speaker 2: she's gonna be like just a phenomena, phenomenal like young
- 56:25Speaker 2: woman girl like as she continues to grow up. She's
- 56:28Speaker 2: so kind, she's so intentional. She loves her sister Scottie
- 56:32Speaker 2: so much. She loves us so much, she needs us
- 56:34Speaker 2: so much. She loves learning new things. She's so curious,
- 56:37Speaker 2: she's so like I get pumped about her potentially being athletic,
- 56:41Speaker 2: but she's just she's so many like positive things to
- 56:44Speaker 2: where I get excited about her future because I know
- 56:47Speaker 2: she's just going to be a great young woman. And
- 56:50Speaker 2: then there's a part of you that's sad because they're
- 56:52Speaker 2: just growing up. Like, I don't know, man, you're you
- 56:59Speaker 2: spend If I could try and put words to it,
- 57:04Speaker 2: it's like.
- 57:06Speaker 3: You know how deeply you love your kids and how
- 57:10Speaker 3: much you learn that you would do anything for them.
- 57:14Speaker 3: You pour everything into them. They need you so much
- 57:17Speaker 3: at this moment in time. These moments and memories are
- 57:21Speaker 3: more for us than it is.
- 57:23Speaker 2: I mean, it is for the kid, but I'm thinking
- 57:25Speaker 2: in terms of like kids don't really they'd say that
- 57:28Speaker 2: kids don't really remember anything before the age of four.
- 57:31Speaker 1: So I have a.
- 57:31Speaker 2: Hard time knowing, like all these memories are for us
- 57:34Speaker 2: so much right now, and you try and embrace them
- 57:37Speaker 2: as much as you can and hold on to them
- 57:39Speaker 2: like you wish you could bottle all these moments up
- 57:41Speaker 2: so much because they're going to be gone one day
- 57:45Speaker 2: because you raise them. They need you so much right now,
- 57:48Speaker 2: and you pour everything into them so that way they
- 57:52Speaker 2: can one day not need you and operate in their
- 57:57Speaker 2: own regards, have their own freedoms, be their own endo
- 58:00Speaker 2: visual that they are, and you're obviously going to be
- 58:02Speaker 2: proud seeing the person and human being an adult that
- 58:05Speaker 2: they become. But just knowing that when we do get
- 58:09Speaker 2: to that point, which makes me sad, makes me happy,
- 58:13Speaker 2: but a lot sad when I reflect on it. It's
- 58:16Speaker 2: just because I know when it gets there, I'm going
- 58:18Speaker 2: to want all of these moments that I'm having with
- 58:21Speaker 2: her back so much. So that's where it's like, I'm
- 58:24Speaker 2: happy and fired up that she's turning for she's got to.
- 58:28Speaker 2: We wrote a list on our breakfast date of what
- 58:31Speaker 2: Roue wants to accomplish at four years old, and we're
- 58:34Speaker 2: running through it, and it's just I'm sitting there smiling
- 58:36Speaker 2: and everything else, and Rue knows I'm both like that.
- 58:38Speaker 3: Are you happy? Are you sad?
- 58:39Speaker 2: I'm all of these things because if I reflect on
- 58:42Speaker 2: parenting it again, I've only been a parent and a
- 58:44Speaker 2: dad for four years now, so I got a long
- 58:48Speaker 2: ways to go. But as I reflect and to any
- 58:51Speaker 2: new parents that are becoming new parents or have a
- 58:54Speaker 2: little one.
- 58:54Speaker 1: Right now, it's just like.
- 58:57Speaker 2: The hardest part isn't the meltdowns and tantrums and stubbornness
- 59:02Speaker 2: and all the things that you go through that make
- 59:04Speaker 2: the shit hard and sucky. Constantly every day there's something
- 59:08Speaker 2: new that's going on, something new that you're trying to
- 59:10Speaker 2: embrace and stay in and be next to them on.
- 59:13Speaker 2: That also makes it really difficult. The hardest part of
- 59:15Speaker 2: parenthood is watching them grow up, you.
- 59:18Speaker 3: Know, what I mean.
- 59:19Speaker 2: Yeah, like knowing that our job is to and our
- 59:24Speaker 2: responsibility is to raise as good of a human being
- 59:28Speaker 2: as possible to operate in the world, and knowing that
- 59:32Speaker 2: when that happens, they no longer need you. Knowing that
- 59:36Speaker 2: is the hardest part for me as a dad. I
- 59:38Speaker 2: feel like is the hardest part as a parent. Isn't
- 59:41Speaker 2: all the shit that we've been about and complain about
- 59:45Speaker 2: and laugh about and you have fun with because they
- 59:48Speaker 2: have tantrums all the time, they have meltdowns. They're screaming
- 59:51Speaker 2: in the car for thirty minutes and you're just like, God,
- 59:53Speaker 2: get me out of here. Yeah, like, sweetheart, you take them.
- 59:56Speaker 2: I'm beefing with Scottie tonight. Yeah, I'm beefing with ru
- 59:59Speaker 2: right now. I don't want to deal with them. But knowing,
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: like you know, that's not the actual hardest part is
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: knowing that one day they're not going to need all
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: of this stuff that you're trying to pour into them
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: to function properly and to handle it, to be kind,
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: to be a great person, to be to want to
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: be grade at anything that they do.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: That's the toughest part.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: So just knowing that for is coming up and four
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: is kind of that age mark that the little research
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: and things that I hear about and read about and
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: all the things. It's like, you know, four is like
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: a new element that four to six range, and then
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: it'll be six to eight or six to nine and
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: beyond that, like all these things are gonna go away,
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: and then you get to kind of relive them with
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: your second one, with Scotty knowing that how fleeting it is.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Because Ruby and four is like you scroll through the
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: photo album, you scroll through all the things that you've
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: done together, and you're like, fuck, we we knock it
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: out of the part, Like do we live a great life?
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: You live such an awesome life. We have so much
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: fun at everything we do. And you're about to be
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: four noweah? Or does time go?
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: And hey you gotta now you gotta be that much more?
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: You think, like, how do I get in these moments
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: more with Scott knowing how fleeting it is? One day, Scott,
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: he's gonna be four. Yeah, when Ruth's turning what is that?
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Six?
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: Seven? Oh? Come on of mine?
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: But that that is what I think about, Like as
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: I reflect and as I think about routurning.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: Four, I have an added page for you on that
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: that hit me this weekend because this was my first
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: wedding going to you have like truly having a daughter
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: and not really putting much thought into that future yet
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: because I'm I'm down. I'm back over here. Yeah, you know,
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: she's eating her kale apple crisp little spoon puffs and
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: I'm proud of that. I'm like, oh my gosh, like
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: she can put it in her mouth herself. And we
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: went to this wedding and shout out the father of
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: the bride that I've had a lot of interaction with,
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: mister Matthias, awesome dad. He is a pt sicko and
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: he has one girl and that is like he loves her.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: And watching him walk down with her, I was sitting
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: asle and I was looking at him as he was
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: coming down the aisle and not Meg the bride, congrats
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: Meg and Sam, and seeing how proud he was like
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: walking his daughter down the aisle and then that moment
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: of who gives this woman her mother? And I and
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: then he messed up and forgot to shake Sam's hand
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: because he's rushing to go sit down because that moment
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: is probably so big for him. And I'm sitting there going,
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: damn it, dude, that will be me.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Yeah, And then he gives a toast.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: He gives a toast, and you are right now, in
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: real time, formulating part of your toast speech. I'd be like, Scar, Scar,
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: I was sitting at a wedding and you're in your
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: Apple Chris Pop whatever you just named. And now I've
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: seen you grow up to be this woman that you are,
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: and all you want is like I wish I had
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: those moments back of you just eating your goddamn.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Dude right like that is that is the game.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: That we're in, Yeah, dude, and it's amazing, and it's
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: fucking sad, knowing like you do get to those parts
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: and it's just such a mixture. I don't know how
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: to sit there. And it's like I'm leaning into the
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: sadness or I'm leaning too that. It's all of the emotions.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: A beautiful thing to then see Jill's friend Meg as
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: this woman that has grown up. She was the little
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: thing with the puffs, and mister Matthias was sitting there
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: and like she I mean, dude, she's a go getter,
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: like she's a stud. And it's this incredible young woman
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: and I'm like, oh my gosh, I want Scarlett to
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: be that too. Like there's a big part of me
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: that's like I gotta do a really good job to
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: make sure that we do get to this moment I
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: do get to hand her off to like this awesome guy.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: But it's just really, really really sad. Yeah, I mean
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: you said it in it made me tear of like
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: the realization of that, Dude, that sucks. It's like life rips,
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: but life also is a motherfucker, yeah, dude, Because I'll
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: sit there and think, like, do we do pizza Friday?
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: Every Friday? She's so alwayscit Mama. Can I help you
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: set the table? Can I help you, like just engage
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: in the tribal mentality that the family operates in, like
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: wanting to be helpful, and even when Mama does bedtime.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: I've talked about this, Even when Mama does bedtime, I'm
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: the closer, Like I go when she wants dad at
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: a lay down with her and scratch your arm and
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: scratch her back because I got into that habit when
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: she was young, and I'm trying to find a different
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: way to where I'm not picking her up and holding.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: Her out of the crib.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: I want to let her know that I'm next to
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: her and I'm like rubbing her arm and rubbing her
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: little fingers and rubbing her hand. Then it came to
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: let that give you a massage. That way we can
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: get through a couple books and know when that it
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: does massage and scratch your back. It's also time for
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: bedtime that morphed into. Now that she has her own bed,
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: she still wants backscratches and rubs from data. So I
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: lay in bed with her every night without fail, unless
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: I'm out of town. It's that it does bedtime. Mama
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: comes in, gives her head kits and three squeezes. Dadad's
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: still laying next to her as I rub her back
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: and scratch her back. If Mama does bedtime, Mom comes
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: out downstairs Dad that you're up, because she's like, make
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: sure to send data. And I go in bed and
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: lay with her for a few minutes to rub her
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: arm and scratch her back. And I am the last
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: person she sees basically the majority of nights. And one
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: day that's gonna be part of my speech of like, man,
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: I hope or you just you're thinking yourself.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: I hope I am every night, every night, and one
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: night every night.
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: I don't know what age it is, but there's gonna
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: come a time to where she doesn't want me to
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: do that every night, you know what I mean. And
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: there's gonna be like a death that I personally have
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: with myself because you want to hang onto these moments
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: so long. It where you get so close to him
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: and so bought in, but you know that there's gonna
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: be an ending down the road, which is both beautiful
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: and shitty at the same time.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: Yeah, you should ask you should ask the groom to
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: promise you that he'll scratch your back every night when
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: you do your skit. God, because that's where my mind goes.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: I'm gonna be on my metaphorically on my hands and knees,
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: begging that dude like treat her well, dude, like please,
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: You're gonna be ten toes down and being like I
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: was that man, now you're that man.
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Yeah, And then it makes you want to be a
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: better husband, which is a good thing of like you
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: know how often I fall short in that regard and
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: just like.
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: It.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: It's so cool having a girl one of my one dude,
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: one of my Now I'm really gonna cry. Uh. One
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: of my close friends is having a girl and he
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: just called me and I teared up when he told
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: me about it. That kept it cool, Like they couldn't
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: tell that teared up, Like kept fucking my boy called me.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: Doesn't have any kids, zero, So this is first one
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: and first one he calls you and told you and
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: you're tearing up, but also you kept it fucking cool.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Kept it so cool, dude, And also f him because
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: I'm like, how is Lake Tahoe? They went on a
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: ski train, it was great, blah blah blah, theah. The
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: wife he she didn't ski it all because she's pregnant.
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: What wait, hold on what? And then they're tell me
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: it's a baby girl and all this stuff, and I'm like, dude,
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: he has no idea. But I'm also so excited for
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: him because I know the type of guy he is,
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: and I'm like, dude, like, oh, just the opportunity that
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: dads have with girls, and shout out the boy dads, dude.
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: Of course, we have so many boy dad petsikos that
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: are like, fucking talk about it, and I get that
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: we do need to talk about the boy dad's more.
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: But the girl dads have such an opportunity with these
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: girls that it's just sick to like be at a
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: wedding and see that celebration of life and see that
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: dad that's so proud and so happy to give away
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: his daughter and like, I don't know.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Dude, it's just a bond.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: It's even when you do the oh, it's like you
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: just can't describe the bond that you have with your children,
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: even if you talk about boy dads, like, yeah, we
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: don't have boys, but we are men, Like we were
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: raised by men, dude, Like we know all the shortcomings
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: that our dads had to where you know if you
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: had a if I clone myself or I have a
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: boy one day, like I know I'm going to be
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: harder on him because I want him to be a
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: better maid than me. Yes, but you also have to
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: have this empathy bug in there of Okay, when were
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: times where I had anxiety or too much of a
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: fear around my dad to where I feel like I
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: couldn't connect or talk with him because you want to
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: make him proud so badly, To where in those moments
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: are still teaching moments for you with your son, to
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: where yes, you can be hard on them. We all
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: know we're going to be hard on our boys. You
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: want them to be fucking men, good men, the right men,
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: do everything the right way. Don't get caught up in
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: the other bullshit. But you also have to think about
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: when are the times that I felt as a boy
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: growing up where I was a little too scared about
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: something or I had there was a fear or a
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: failure or a letdown or something to where there was
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: a there were some of these disconnects with my dad, right,
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: and my dad was awesome.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: My dad was also tough.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: Love, very hard on me, very much like Dan Gable
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: A lot of our quotes like I've had the life
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: that I've had because my dad was half of it.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: But there are things that I can think about to
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: where if I have a boy, I know I'll have
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: to catch myself I wanting to be too hard on
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: him and back, Hey, Willie, try to remember, Try to
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: remember some of the disconnects that maybe me and my
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: dad had to where I'm sitting there because now I
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: have this empathy gene because I've had girls like the patients,
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: the love, the care to help them develop, like as
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: their brain is developing there like boys are going through
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: the same thing.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: You're not just harder on them because.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: It's like always a boiled figure it out like no, none,
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: I sit with them, sit with them and try to
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: put yourself in his little undeveloped brain right now, and
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: try to walk with him and try to do all
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: these things to help mold him. So we don't have boys,
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: we can still try and like we are men, like
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: we are guys, to where there's a lot of the
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: similar carrier, Like men and women are very different, but
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: still there's a lot of common things that you're still
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: sitting with them on and trying to help them understand
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: why they're feeling what they're feeling. Hey, it is okay
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: to talk about what you're feeling. There are times when
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: you do need to talk about like what's on your mind.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: There are times where you shouldn't be suppressing. I can
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: see the road we're going down being a little too
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: hard on you to sit there to where I feel
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: like you're not talking to me. I've done a poor
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: job of not creating a space for you to talk
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: to me, and we can talk and I'll tell you
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: why everything happens.
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: Yeah, the grading scale that I've created in my head
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: if I did have a boy, is that he is
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: such a terrific man. He is such a great human
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: that when that girl dad is letting their bride go
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: on that wedding day, yeah, it's that much easier because
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: they know the type of man that they're letting their
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: daughter marry. Yeah, if that makes sense, like being able
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: to grade that as like, I know how great my
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: son is because I'm I'm partial. That's my son, but
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: others see it in him. Others see it in the
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: way that he is treating his significant other, his friends,
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: his blah blah blah, like this is this is a
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: true Ptsico. Ptsico, this is good stuff. Man.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: We do have some new or on the new dad kicks.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: I have a new dad shout out right here from
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: Brandon Clark. Come on via email boys, PTSICO from Sydney, Australia.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: That was That was my attempt at an except.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: Profile of a two year old boy currently listening in
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: the hospital birthing sweet after the arrival of baby number two,
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: our little girl, reflecting as I sit on my little
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: chair on how proud I am and my wife and
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: how lucky we are that we get to do this again.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: My son punched me in the balls last night, so
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: I'm also casually reminding her that I feel her pain.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: She's not appreciating it, but I digress good. Also reflecting
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: on just how much the pod has influenced me as
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: a father, whether it be the countless lessons quotes to
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: live by, or a weekly reminder of the shared wins
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: and losses we all face as dads. I've truly loved
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: every episode. Keep up the good work. Cheers, cunts, go.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: Birds. Oh god, I love it. Better feeling than Aussie
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: calln you kin.

- 1:12:52Speaker 2: welcomed in, We got initiated, We got two years, cunts,

- 1:13:05Speaker 3: the pod. Boys. You guys talking about the ups and
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: downs of fatherhood. It's making the nerves go down for me.
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: Team minus twelve days. Induction day is set till the
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: first round of buds training comes to fruition. Wife and
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: I have gone this whole time not knowing the gender,
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: and it is super exciting, not knowing if I'll be
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: a girl or boy. Dad proud to be a part
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: of PT six. Dakota. Congratulations Dakota. Let's go, dude, Let's
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: go Dakota. Yeah, that's so exciting. Do we want it?
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: Let's keep ripping.

- 1:13:41Speaker 2: dad wins, I have general good dude, ripple, let's general call,

- 1:13:48Speaker 2: Desh on Spotify.
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: Hello, my name is William Desh and I'm a huge
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: fan of your show and I'm proud. I'm a proud
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: father of two beautiful girls. I love listening to your
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: show because it brings me comfort knowing that I'm not
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: alone in figuring out fatherhood. I never knew how much
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: being a father would impact the way I live my life,
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: and I wouldn't change it for the world. Listening to
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: you guys has been a fantastic time, and I love
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: everything you guys do on the show.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: Keep up the great work and remember to take out
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: the trash.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: Thank you, William. Shout out, William shout out to Spotify comment.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: Drop the Spotify comment, Hey, drop the Spotify comment. I
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: got Brandon Baldwin here on YouTube. Brandon says what's up.
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: My name is Brandon. I live in South Carolina, Go Cox.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: I started listening to the pod about a year ago,
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: and as a father of two boys two years and
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: four months old, I really feel like I learn a
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: lot of new hacks I never would have thought of
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: or tried before. My wife and I have tried all
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: the methods we can think of for potty training, and
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: he's just not telling us when he has to go.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: It's frustrating because it's really not that hard to pee
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: in or at least near the toilet.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: Anyway. I was just curious how it went for y'all.
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: Loved the pod. Y'all are crushing it. What was this
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: question on the potty? Did they they're not going in
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: the toilet? Man?
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: With boys, I hear it's it's harder, it's more different team.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: You don't know where that thing's gonna go.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: You're trying to teach the los what do I think
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: him outside? Don't don't teach him it's okay to go
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: outside like the boys do. Yeah, your parents what my
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: parents did? Did care or didn't care? Didn't care? Yeah,
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: my parents didn't didn't say that that's a tree you
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: grew up on the little sticker of the little kid
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: pissing on whatever logo be on it, and then you're
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: doing your name. It's fun. Yeah, it's fine, big daddy,
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: it's fun. It's fun to go to Philip Philippo on YouTube. Boys.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: I've been watching for a couple of weeks now.
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: I've never really watched podcasts, but I absolutely love this community.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Dude.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: Shout out, shout out, shout out, Papa team six. Uh,
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: your advice and story sharing makes me want to be
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: a better fiance to my so.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: Oh magnificant other.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Oh okay to my significant other.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: Ah, so significant other to my significant other, and a
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: better father to my son and daughter. I just received
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: some merchant the mail this trash Day and couldn't be happier.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: Embrace the chaos, boys, keep up the great work, and
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: don't forget to take.
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: Out the trash. Hey, guess love you boys? Yes you did,
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: guess you did? Oh it's today today, it's my trash today.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: It's Tuesday for me?
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: What's today?
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: We record on Tuesday? The show drops on Wednesdays. I
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: forgot trash. If you are listening, it's trash day. Oh
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: you forgot? Yeah, hold your pause. I thought to hold
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: your pause.
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: Good.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: I thought today it was Wednesday, and I was like, shit,
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: I forgot.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: And that's perfect because we went out of town and
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: you know it's already all built. That's all cool. Let's
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: wait till next week.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: Keep adding more trash too.
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, that'd be fun. Hey, maybe I'll go
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: dumpster diving again. Yeah. You know what you didn't do?
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: You got me right one time? You didn't hit me up. Yeah,
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: that's true. I should.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: You're two minutes away from the shop. You could hit
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: any of the boys up. That's so true. Not the
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: roller bag, not the trash. Like, what's going on? And
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: I'm not asking that, Like what's going on with you?
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: Like what is going on?
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: Yeah? Hey, yeah, what's going on? Because we got to
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: figure it the fuck out. Give me one of those
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: tiger speeches. That's why use a tiger when you should
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: be part of the pack.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: Yeah, he thought he had me with the tiger talks,
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: Like tiger, it's more about pride and like getting your
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: stuff in order. It's like, that's how I know you're
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: not ready because you're talking about pride over pack. When
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: you're talking about pack over pride, that's when I know
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: you're ready. When you're thinking of things beyond yourself and
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: you're thinking about other people.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: That's when I know you're ready. You're growing.
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: Yeah, we we texted about that video.
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: Yeah, we texted. I was just I was looking for
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: like a little I know, I know, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: you'll get me right, You'll get me right.
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: Oh, you will have a I'm big on you feel
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: a moment happening. Let's remove the person from the moment.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Let's get out of there and say that, don't even
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: worry about that, Like what's on your mind.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: You're big on that big, We'll remove it. Let's have
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: a one on one. Yeah, did with Ru this morning?
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: I walk in sore, next is setting up outside. I
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: walk in, and Rue is losing her mind. All she
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: wanted to do was have Scotti's lama, the webbin ub,
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: big webbing up family. Yeah.
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: Rue still rips her tigy pascifiers now off of it
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: because over time wear and tear.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: Scotti's is a lama. Rue wanted lama.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: For some reason so she could put a little her
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: little plastic knife like toy knife like and just put
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: it in the hole of the webin ub. That was
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: literally it cool because when Charle went over, She's like,
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: all right here, here it is. And then Ruth's crying
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: and like putting it in and she's like, do you
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: feel better?
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: And I'm thinking, what the hell is going on? Is
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: this all she wanted?
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: We're trying to get her to finish her chicken sausage,
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: and Rue's still crying.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: So I was just like, hey, do you want to
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: hug you want? Dad had to pick you up? She
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: reaches up, I pick her up. We just walked to
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: a different room. Yeah, we get her. Hey, let's stop crying.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: Let's talk like, what's going on? What's the problem?
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Why are you sat it right now saying it?
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: Hey?
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: I got you. It's okay to be sad. Yeah, but
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: we know we gotta we gotta finish a job in there.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: We gotta eat your chicken. We gotta eat your chicken sausage.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: So let's wipe the tears head, give that a big
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: ugg Just lay on me right now. You want me
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: to hold you for a second, yeah, I want that
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: at hold me. I'll hold you for a second. But
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: when we walk back in there, knew you, yeah, knew you.
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: We're gonna sit down we're gonna eat the chicken sausage.
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: And now is dadad doing rituals on his podcast? Is
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: that making you want to simulate sacrificing a mama? Is
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: this my fault?
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: Is this Dad is doing?
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: Because Dad? I can you see the seance a few
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: weeks ago? We should do now what's going on? Because
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: I'm proud of you, kiddo. But let's not do that.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but big on removing. Let's have a one on one,
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: let's talk, let's get away from the noise.
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: That's a good note. That's a good note. I have
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: our final little general comment from Josh Duncan on the gram.
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: As a member of Papa Team six, can I make
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: a recommendation for the baby Team six merch I think
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: there should be an infant tree division for the babies
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: on the front line out there causing havoc.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Yea infantry infantry division. He cooked, he cooked, he cooked?
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: I want to say, did I take a screenshot.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: With my need to pull him intour next internal meeting? Yeah,
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: next internal meeting.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: I have one here from Ron Holmes on Spotify merch idea,
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: y'all should make a going home bundle, a.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Shirt and or a hat.
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: For the dads, something for the moms, maybe a hat
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: or something that Jill or Charrow I spelled that how
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: it sounds Charro he put two rs.
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: It's one R.
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: It's wish they had when they left the hospital, a
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: blanket or a beanie for the baby.
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: That's what a great idea.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: That's a phenomenal idea.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: What a we'll talk about it. We'll talk about we'll
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: look into it. We'll look in that new and fresh.
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: We we should probably look into it, look into it.
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: We'll look into it. We'll look into it because we
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: love the idea first time.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: And if you're just hearing us, if this happens to
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: be your first episode and that was one of your comments,
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: or it's just your first episode and you're wondering the
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: vibe that's taking place right now, the BT sikos understanding
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: the vibe taking place right now.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, great idea.
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: We love it. Idea, look into it. I have ada.
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: I think you guys are thinking different things right now.
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: We are okay, I'm on your page, we're here. I
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: know you're you're again. The trauma that you faced previously
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: in life does not come from chip or I. This
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: is not attack on you. We love you.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: I'm not feeling an attack. I'm saying, we'll look into it. Okay.
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: I'm saying if there's just a first time viewer and
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: they're wondering, like why are they gotchas, like do they
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: love the idea?
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: They not love the idea because we're like, we love
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: the idea.
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: We love the idea. I love the idea. We'll look
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: into it. My, yes, my, we love the idea. We
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: love it.
- 1:22:03Speaker 6: Uh.
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: Jay Roma nine on YouTube he has a dad loss here,
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: Dad loss. My daughter has a ton of hair, and
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: I was in charge of getting her ready for picture
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: day at school because mom has to be in work early.
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: I sent in a couple hair ties with her and
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: asked her to ask the teacher to fix her hair.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: So as the dad loss, he didn't do the hair,
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: he needed somebody else to do do the hair.
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: I will say this, I said, I wasn't gonna say
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: it on the pod, but I'll put it out there.
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: I'll put it out there. Put it out there dad
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: when he knew it was picture day. That's a like
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: if we're talking baseline, dad win, Dad, when you understand
- 1:22:57Speaker 3: what your weaknesses are, so there to right there. Did
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: he prepare? Sounds like he did. He got some hair
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: ties and asked his daughter to ask the.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: Teacher to do the He do we know how old
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: the daughter is?
- 1:23:12Speaker 4: Uh?
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: No, we did not. We did not, So you could
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: be playing in a gray area there. Did you trust
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: your daughter to go inside and ask to get her
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: hair done?
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: So maybe maybe, Like.
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: Well, I'm guessing she's not old enough to do her
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: own hair correct, But is she going to remember to
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: ask the question when she walks in? Which is old? Yes?
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: That could be a win. Yeah, that could be a win.
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: But I think even though that is a dad loss,
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: we'll chuck it up as a loss. I think they're
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: fundamentally let's just create a standard. Fundamentally, all dads need
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: to understand how to just do a ponytail. Yes, just
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: one simple, whether it's low pony, high pony. Just work
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: in your fingers, work in your hands. You just get
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: a hair.
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: Tie on them, yes, tighten it up, yes, Oh, pull
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: the pony tail, so the little thing he gets tied
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: into their head. Yeah. To me, that's that's a standard.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: That's fundamental.
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: I think so, Okay, I think so, I think that's
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: a dad loss. I think he did a did a
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: good job of Hey, I've already fallen short here and
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: instead of just like oh, we'll go, there was some prep.
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: I understand it. But we got to learn how to
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: do the ponytail. I want to learn how to breid.
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: My wife tell me about learning how to braid. So
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: can I get in the Can I get in the
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: car with him? Can I get in the foxhold with him?
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: Sure?
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: An example that just happened yesterday. You're in the car,
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: in the car with him with Jay Roma similar experience.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: Mom left Ruse had a licencident to where her hair.
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: We want it braided. We don't just want to loose ponytail.
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: We don't want our hair down. We want to braid
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: it or something to where it's tight. And I guess
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: you minimize the risk for getting ice because she's gotten
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: lights from school.
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: Cool.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: Cool, But yesterday I forgot to get her hair done.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: But I don't.
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: I don't know how to do the braid and hand up,
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: sue me. I don't know how to braid hair. Yet
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: she does try to teach me. She wants me to
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: sit there and observe do all the things. I'm good
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: with the ponytail. I can rip ponytails all day long.
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: I can now do a little ballet bun as well
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: as I watch.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: A YouTube video.
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: Okay, but I forgot.
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: I forgot to have our nanny. As we're sitting there,
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: she would do her hair. Hey, tell her what she needs.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: Rude just got in hair down, long hair, don't care.
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: She was rocking the Clay Matthews before game day. Good.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: We're driving into school. I'm now realizing my dad lost,
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: Like you, I forgot to do that. I didn't even know,
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: like there was no I gotta get this done. I'm
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: aware that I'm not getting it done. It wasn't until
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: I was in the car line and be like, damn,
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: I forgot to do her hair.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: What I did.
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: Improvise adapt to overcome. Pulled up, saw the teacher. Hey,
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: miss so and so, do you have two hair ties? Well,
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: of course, could you when you go inside, could you
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: braid Ruth's hair for me? She's all ru's on me
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: right now that I didn't.
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: Get her hair braided. She said, oh, of course I'll
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: braid Ruth's hair.
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: So I know the job got done. But Dad lost
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: with my man who just wrote in yeah, same thing.
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: Happened to me. Yeah, same thing happened to me. I'm
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: seeing this whole Pints and Ponies thing and we've we've
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: been sending it. Dereck's been sending into the group. We
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: reached out and just said hi to them. We're mutual
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: friends now with Pints and Pony. Oh are we really do?
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: We should?
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: And you you said it, we should Wine thousand percent
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: do a pin Pints and Ponies.
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: And they're in the UK career in the UK, they're
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: of a separate brand which I can look into and
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: figure out. So this is like, it's two guys that
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: do host like an entity ina podcast. This is an
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: event they started. They're getting picked up. It is over
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: in the UK, so we not need to call it
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: Beers and Braids. Oh my god, Hey, hey, we can
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: do it. We'll look into it.
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: Beers and braids. Fuck, that'd be said.
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: That's good. That's good. Um yeah, do you want to
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: do Dad? I have a dad went in a in

- 1:30:30Speaker 2: brand not have more partners yet.
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: That's what they're thinking. I'm thinking, I don't want them
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: to get to the point where we're beating them over
- 1:30:38Speaker 3: the head because they are so stoked to see this growth,
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: and I think they're going to be really excited about
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: this one because this is a personal one that we
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: have been working on behind the scenes.
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: For the last one four months, five.
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: Months, five, that would be five months, yes, for the

- 1:33:34Speaker 3: tried one of them on got the shock. I was happy.
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: I won't tell you what letter I ended on, but
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: I was happy with just shocked. What's the quote? It's
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: not how big the vot is. This is how I
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: let you motion? Motion? Something about Yeah, so we got motion.
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: We got motion. Don't let a white boy get a
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: little motion with these pt six condoms? Do we go
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: back to the episode and go back to the episode?
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: All right? This is little As on our Reddit page,
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: he said, which super dad power are you picking of
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: these six? Okay, okay, I'm gonna read them off real quick, Chef,
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: I'll take a picture of this, send it to you
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: and we can put it up on the screen. The
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: Whisperer produce a magic calm that calms any meltdown in
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: under sixty seconds. The human Crane one hundred percent success
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: rate on the car to crib transfer, so they're not
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: waking up. Reflex Master catching falling objects, including children before
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: they hit the floor. Every time tactical loader pack the
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: diaper back trunk for a weekend trip in five minutes flat.
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: That reminds me the photo buddy dropped Nick before the
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: dad's posted. Yeah, I had just a clean setup.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: In the trunk.
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: Oh and that was not five minutes. No no, no, no no,
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: that was forty five to an hour file.
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: Yeah, nice game Tetris, Yeah.
- 1:35:10Speaker 3: Nursery Ninja navigate legos and creaky boards in total silence.
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: Or the Iron Nose identify a dirty diaper from two
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: rooms away via vibes alone. So I will hold those
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: up again. We have the whisper to me, to me,
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: this is a no brainer. Okay, how about what does
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: your mind think when you read those? Just because of
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: recent fails, I like the tactical loader okay, just because
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: of recent fails, but I am tactical.
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: Loaders packed the diaper, packed the diaper bag, and filled
- 1:35:49Speaker 2: the trunk up for a weekend trip in five minutes.
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: I am leaning towards reflex Master, though that was my
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: initial gut was reflex Master.
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: See I can tell this this now. Now we're in
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: different stage. Who I have a whole different perspective. Yeah,
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: we're in different stages right now. Yeah, because mine is,
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: without a doubt, the Whisperer. Yeah, like, without a doubt,
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: produce a magic com that calms a meltdown in under
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: sixty seconds.
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I look at that.
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: Listen, It's like, what is the thing that I deal
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: that we deal with the most that can happen more consistently, Like, yeah, reflexes,
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: that'd be great. I fact I got some good dad reflexes,
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: but it's not one hundred percent. Yeah, the tactical one. Yeah,
- 1:36:27Speaker 2: that's we're traveling, not every day, not all the time.
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: The one I deal with, the one that we deal
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: with every day with a three year old soon to
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: before and it's sixteenth month old, is the meltdown santrums,
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: both of them at the same time. Ones get more
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: love than the other. You gotta the I just get
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: that magic com. If I could become the Whisper, that
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: would be the super that would be the superpower that
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: I would choose as a dad at this stage of
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: my life.
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: Okay, so you're going whisper.
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: I'm going whisper.
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: I think I'm going to go full board reflex Master,
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: reflex Master, which makes a lot of sense.
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like even the tactical ones, when you get
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: kids to the point to where you're just kind of crawl,
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: you know, rallying everybody getting them in the vehicle.
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: I can see where the tactical one comes in.
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: We had to, like a couple passes hit the floor
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: in the airport. That's gross, right, Like, you know what happens.
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: It happens, but you don't want to put it right
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: back into their mouth if it's the airport. I'm sure, Hey,
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: I'm sure. After baby number two, probably probably sorry doing that.
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: I had a coworker shout out, sonya, but she she
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: told me. First baby, I mean when anything happens, shit
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: hits the fan. Second baby, they'll get lost in the
- 1:37:37Speaker 3: grocery store for five minutes. Hey, they'll pop up, Yeah,
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: they'll pop up, they'll pop up. Third one, we're home
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: alone coming. Third one is as you're going to the
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: car with the you know, the buggy, they come running
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: out with the third one, they go hey, you leave something.
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: Oh there he is, Yeah, I thought he was in
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: the car. That's why I'm going to the car.
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: What are the other show me that list again?
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: Reflex Master, the Human cre iron Nose.
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: In my opinion, if you're a young father in the
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: stage that you are, I feel like you're wasting a superpower.
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: You are using that one that this you do not need.
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: Iron Nose, you don't need. Do you want to hear
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: which one's one?
- 1:38:19Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: And I could read back, Oh yeah, I had a
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: yeah they had a pool. Okay. Thirteen total votes, so
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: zero votes for iron Nose, identified dirty diper from two
- 1:38:28Speaker 3: rooms of wa via vibes, zero votes for Nursery Ninja
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: navigate legos and creaky boards, and total silence okay. Tied
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: two votes reflex Master catch falling objects and two votes
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: Tactical Loader packed the diaper bag trunk for the weekend.
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: In second place with three was the human Crane. It
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: was that success rate from car to crib. With six
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: total voices. Was the Whisperer produce a magic column that
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: calms I melt down an under sixty second. That makes sense.
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: I mean that superpower alone, bro all, I guess that's
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: peace and motion.
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: Yeah, Jill, and I haven't gotten to that point yet
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: of like being out late enough to where Scarlett ate
- 1:39:06Speaker 3: her solids at dinner and now she's asleep, And really
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: we could just segue that car ride sleep into bedtime
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: and leave it at that. We haven't hit there, right,
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: But even if you use that superpower, they wake up,
- 1:39:21Speaker 3: and think about the power of the whisper, they wake up.
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: You change them, you put them in bed, and you
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: just leave the room and they're already crying. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: But then like after a minute or two, like all right,
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: they're not putting themselves asleep right away because they woke
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: themselves up from the transfer.
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: You just walk in there. You hit them with some
- 1:39:40Speaker 3: Wemba way what's the name of that song, No, the
- 1:39:44Speaker 3: one that you love from Oh Mighty Joe, Young Mighty Joe,
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: Young Imbo.
- 1:39:48Speaker 7: Wimboop walcuty no time, the eyes slowly shutting, little one
- 1:40:00Speaker 7: is now GotY no no time, and you it's over.
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: They're out.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: They're out.
- 1:40:08Speaker 2: So even if you have they wake up in between
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: the car and get into the crib, you hit them
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: with that.
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: It's done.
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: Yeah, game wonderful, this wonderful job singing. Okay, and thank you,
- 1:40:20Speaker 3: thank you, thank you Derek for being on top of me.
- 1:40:23Speaker 3: That has what six weeks? Yeah, and Easy is the

- 1:41:42Speaker 8: I'm still waiting for the day where she hates her dad.
- 1:41:47Speaker 8: She's my best friend. She's going out of town with
- 1:41:49Speaker 8: her mom. It'll just be me and the eleven year

- 1:41:59Speaker 8: me she's going to miss me all week. Just know
- 1:42:03Speaker 8: that when I was in the trenches.
- 1:42:04Speaker 9: With her, she slept through the night for the first
- 1:42:08Speaker 9: time after her baby sister when she was three. So
- 1:42:13Speaker 9: if you're going through the trenches dealing with sleeping issues,
- 1:42:17Speaker 9: any of those things right now, just know it will
- 1:42:19Speaker 9: get better. And somedays she'll be your best buddy. She's

- 1:42:26Speaker 9: Just keep at it, be there, be present, love her
- 1:42:34Speaker 9: that call right there.
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: Even at this stage with Routurn four, do you think
- 1:42:40Speaker 3: about when is the time where they're you know, cherish
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: the first ten years, cherish the first eleven because they'll
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: hate you because they're not You're gonna lose them. Yeah,
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: And it sounds like he figured it out and just know,
- 1:42:53Speaker 3: like you do it the right way the entire time,
- 1:42:56Speaker 3: Like you're going to have that bond that he seems
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: to have with his daughter fourteen years old an eleven
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: year old. Yeah, and you heard it.
- 1:43:03Speaker 2: It's a subtle, subtle game lunch date already planned because

- 1:44:02Speaker 4: had a great time.
- 1:44:04Speaker 8: Uh Me and my boy.
- 1:44:05Speaker 4: Chopped it up. Room full of dads, this is k
- 1:44:08Speaker 4: through five kids, right, one donut, one donut per person.
- 1:44:14Speaker 4: Uh and it was glazed, not even chocolate. We'll find
- 1:44:18Speaker 4: down pretty fast. I looked at my son, I'm like
- 1:44:22Speaker 4: million all yours and like yeah, uh okay, all right,
- 1:44:25Speaker 4: just I was just asking one donut.
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: You know, one donut. We play as amount of.
- 1:44:30Speaker 4: Dollars a month at the school. But yeah, hey, one
- 1:44:34Speaker 4: donut regardless, say, we had a great time. Vibes were high,
- 1:44:39Speaker 4: we we enjoyed ourselves. Went to a little Lego store
- 1:44:42Speaker 4: after the fact. But hey, one donut and I'm a lost,
- 1:44:47Speaker 4: but hey, had a great time. Anyways, keep up the
- 1:44:50Speaker 4: show man, we we we love it here me and

- 1:45:05Speaker 3: paying a little bit of money to each month. It's Mississippi.
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: Who knows how much money they're paying. True. If this
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: is one of them private schools and he's getting one
- 1:45:17Speaker 3: glazed donut, what are we talking about. We need pink
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: frosting with sprinkles.
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: Minimum claws. Yeah, I need Boston cream pies. Yeah, chocolate
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: covered long John's.
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: Oh did you not have enough? Jordan, as he's walking out,

- 1:45:40Speaker 3: just in case, there's some donut holes for the road,
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: have yourself a day if it's a private school. That's
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: all I'm saying.
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we just got an inside look at
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: the economy of Mississippi. They're making the most of it.
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: To Jordan and his boys. They have service down there
- 1:46:02Speaker 2: to watch our show every week. Just start shitting on Mississippi.
- 1:46:11Speaker 3: Oh my god, Hey, Jordan, you ride a horse? Are
- 1:46:14Speaker 3: you taking your kid to school on a horse? Even
- 1:46:17Speaker 3: got a card? Dude? What'd you call us her on piphone?
- 1:46:21Speaker 3: That connections was horseshit? Dude. I'm sitting there, I'm like
- 1:46:25Speaker 3: intently listening. But he gave us love him and his boys.
- 1:46:29Speaker 3: They listen on the rag.
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: So I don't want to go too hard because if
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: I'm going in one with one donut leaving, do you
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: enjoy your time?
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: You hit the coffee other end?
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: No, there's only you only got us twelve donuts and
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: sam us in here, I said, Dad, and donut Dan,
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: We got a pack of twelve and.
- 1:46:46Speaker 3: I live in this state. You think I'm gonna be
- 1:46:48Speaker 3: happy with one donut with all the shit I have
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: to put up with, and it's glazed, and it's glazed. Hey,
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: what happened to old miss or Mississippi State? Do anything?
- 1:46:56Speaker 4: Do you.
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: Man that right there?
- 1:47:00Speaker 5: Like?
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: What did the school do? They just go to the
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: gas station. Let me get a box of twelve.
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: Had to had too? Is that is wild at the
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: State of Mississippi? That was wild about? Is it wild? No?
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: I'm it was a little April fools of Mississippi. All
- 1:47:20Speaker 3: April was messing with them. You did tell me your
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: favorite river the other month, the Mississippi, the Mississippi. You did, buddy,
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: Saint Louis, Saint Louis, come home. Need some dad hacks? Okay,
- 1:47:36Speaker 3: need some dad hacks. This would be our uh our
- 1:47:39Speaker 3: final one boys.
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: It's Frank from Philip Connen.
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: I need some dad hacks. Oh, Frank. We just started
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: potty training.
- 1:47:52Speaker 6: Our son will be three in a month now, and
- 1:47:56Speaker 6: it is not going well. First thirty minutes, we're through
- 1:48:01Speaker 6: three sets underwear. He's freaking out. He ain't getting it.
- 1:48:06Speaker 6: We don't know what to do. We're trying to explain
- 1:48:08Speaker 6: it to him. It's just not working please and needed
- 1:48:13Speaker 6: all the dad acts on potty training, thank you. So
- 1:48:19Speaker 6: he's essentially saying nothing's working right now.
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's in his voice, the poor guy
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: like he needs like he needs you right now, will
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: I can't help him. He's got a little boy. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:48:31Speaker 3: we don't got no experience with the little boy. I know, man,
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: but you, I mean, Rue is a potty trained sicko.
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: She was showing off to Uncle Sheram how she knows
- 1:48:41Speaker 3: how to use the bath there. I mean she's dialed, dude,
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: you got her dialed. Yeah.
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: But I was more of the support system.
- 1:48:48Speaker 3: I was more of the celebrating. Charro was come on, No,
- 1:48:53Speaker 3: Charlie was in the paint. Find every great man is
- 1:48:56Speaker 3: a greater wife, good man or decent man, average man. Yeah.
- 1:49:02Speaker 3: Martha Washington, Yeah, George Washington's wifey Yeah. And Caro knew
- 1:49:08Speaker 3: what to do. And again, I feel like everything I've
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: heard that girls are just easier. Yeah, I'm a dude.
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: Only only thing that I got and they might not
- 1:49:19Speaker 3: be old enough for this is JJ. I think I've
- 1:49:22Speaker 3: told this story on the pod JJ, son of Jeremy
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: Shout out JJ and Jeremy I've been catching some flak
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: that I only shout out JJ and Brady and Brady
- 1:49:34Speaker 3: and Lindsey, Yes, shout out the clumps. Uh. When their
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: son was here, he was doing a little bit of this,
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: like holding his hand right there and kind of, you know,
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: the toes are going inward a little bit, but he's
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: not saying anything, and he's not saying anything, and Dad
- 1:49:49Speaker 3: is asking. Jeremy's asking JJ jj JJ you gotta go,
- 1:49:53Speaker 3: you gotta go. No, no, no, I said, JJ, I'm
- 1:49:57Speaker 3: about to piss my pants now, I'm gonna race you
- 1:50:01Speaker 3: to the bathroom because I'm gonna go to the bathroom first. No,
- 1:50:03Speaker 3: you're not, and ran to the bathroom, went in there,
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: and Pete I was like, what a dad act. I
- 1:50:08Speaker 3: was like, dang it, dang it, you beat me.
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: That's honestly a great one right there, because even when Rue,
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: like now, now you have me thinking in terms of Rue,
- 1:50:18Speaker 2: like anytime we thought that, okay, she hasn't gone in
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: a while, you just kind of I'm telling Rue, hey,
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: I gotta go potty right now. You're probably gonna follow
- 1:50:25Speaker 2: me into the bathroom.
- 1:50:26Speaker 3: Like you always do. Let's go together, heah, let's go together.
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: And in Rue's bathroom, let's go powder. He's a big
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: Daniel Tiger fan. Daniel Tiger for when she gets her
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: screen time, there's some game. There's game in Daniel Tiger.
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: What do you do?
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: You have to go potty? Maybe yes, maybe no? Why
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: don't we sit and try to go? M something like that. Yeah,
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: But we had the poster of Daniel Tiger with the
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: lyrics sitting in the bathroom, so that way it could always.
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: Be on her mind.
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: Hey, was Daniel Tiger say maybe maybe yes, maybe no?
- 1:51:01Speaker 2: Why don't why don't we sit and try to go
- 1:51:03Speaker 2: and try to go?
- 1:51:05Speaker 3: That's Danny Dandy. Oh I always knew I like DT
- 1:51:13Speaker 3: that's Daniel Tiger.
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: And then when they're sitting in there, look at the poster. Dad, dude,
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: got it. Get look here. You don't have to go.
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: It's all good. We're just we're just taking we're just
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: taking the t o. We're taking a quick thirty. Yeah,
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: let's go cut our nose. What's the hot goss? What's
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: the four to one one?
- 1:51:30Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:51:30Speaker 3: You need the potty now cool? Get after it?
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: Yeah, and also shout out all those posters. Dude, save
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: the drama for your Lama. Yeah, hang in there with
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: the little kitten. Nothing like a good elementary school post.
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: And then if it gets too far, you gotta think
- 1:51:54Speaker 2: you might have just start thinking about waterboarding.
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: Mmm. I like your head's at and I'm trying to
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: think of the best way. Because he said it was
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: it a three year old, two year old.
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: There's somewhere around there.
- 1:52:07Speaker 3: Yeah, still light enough you could hold them by their feet,
- 1:52:11Speaker 3: but there's probably some ways to go about it. Yeah.
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: Yeah, you pissed on the floor.
- 1:52:14Speaker 3: You know what that is. Here's what the floor feels
- 1:52:20Speaker 3: like when you piss all over it. You just start
- 1:52:23Speaker 3: waterboarding them, April Fools. Oh god, I'm joking. I'm joking.
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: Your nose in it, April Fool. Yeah yeah, April Fools,
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: kind of like a dog. Won't you just rub their
- 1:52:40Speaker 3: face in it? April? Hey, we might be pieces of ship,
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: but we're not here a piece of ship. Emails. We
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: got emails? Great?
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I got I got a couple.
- 1:52:59Speaker 3: Okay, I I only have one. I'll rip through mine
- 1:53:02Speaker 3: because it's kind of lengthy in a good way. This
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: one comes from Colin Riley. Colin says, Hey, boys, I
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: just wanted to shout out my wife and share some
- 1:53:11Speaker 3: thoughts on what I am doing trying to be a
- 1:53:13Speaker 3: supportive partner, especially when things seem stacked against you. This
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: message might be a little long. I apologize for that,
- 1:53:20Speaker 3: but I just wanted to share a little bit about
- 1:53:23Speaker 3: some things that are going on and how much this
- 1:53:25Speaker 3: podcast helps me keep things in perspective. Little context. My wife,
- 1:53:30Speaker 3: Kristin and I live in Australia. Good I might with
- 1:53:34Speaker 3: our four year old son Body. That's a sick name.
- 1:53:38Speaker 3: I love Body. She's from New Zealand. I'm from Indiana
- 1:53:44Speaker 3: and we met at Ball State University. We moved to
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: Australia at the start of twenty twenty and had our
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: son during COVID. Kristen plays professional soccer in the second
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: division here in Australia and has recently played in the
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: FIFA Women's Champion's Cup against Wuhan and China the fucking
- 1:54:03Speaker 3: irony there. She has been trying to break through to
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: the first division and as she is turning thirty this year,
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: she feels like time is against her. I wanted to
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: just shout her out. She's doing a tough job. She's
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: a great athlete and a better mom. It takes a
- 1:54:17Speaker 3: special type of person to juggle everything she does, parenting, sports,
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: and working full time on top of that. I know
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: how great she is and how well she handles everything,
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: so the least I can do is make her life easier.
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: Cooking me, dishes me, laundry me, cleaning done, daycare drop
- 1:54:36Speaker 3: off I do that. Birthday parties of course, weekend sports,
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: bring it on? Kids? What the bed sorted? Kid? What's
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: the bed and throws up in the bed? No big deal?
- 1:54:48Speaker 3: What colon?
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: Light?
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: Work colon? In my mind, I'm trying to make as
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: much of her plate as I take as much of
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: off her plate as I can. The less she has
- 1:55:01Speaker 3: to worry about, the better she can perform, and the
- 1:55:04Speaker 3: more time she can spend with her son. My thinking
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: is that as a husband and father, I need to
- 1:55:10Speaker 3: be able to handle it all. One of the highlights
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: of my week is being able to lock in at
- 1:55:15Speaker 3: work and listen to the pod. It helps me realize
- 1:55:18Speaker 3: that there are all sorts of parents in all different situations,
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: and we are all just trying our best to keep
- 1:55:24Speaker 3: it together. I appreciate the candor of the pod, not
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: afraid of the bad times, but embracing them, sharing them
- 1:55:31Speaker 3: and celebrating the good times. Final shout out for the wife.
- 1:55:35Speaker 3: She's doing an amazing job, and since we live overseas
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: away from both of our families, there's not many people
- 1:55:42Speaker 3: who appreciate and get to see how wonderful and strong
- 1:55:45Speaker 3: she really is. Colin Riley shout out Kristen Riley.
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: Shout out Kristin Riley. Sounds like a badass.
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: Both of them sound like badasses, and we were just
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: kind of like an interpreter for the being over here.
- 1:55:59Speaker 3: On the mainland. Yeah, dude, you want to know how
- 1:56:01Speaker 3: they're doing. You hear how they're doing?
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: Riley family sounds like they're crushing right now. Sounds like
- 1:56:07Speaker 3: Christen is a stud in the football side of things,
- 1:56:11Speaker 3: and Colin has hold it down at the fort.
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: Big time PT six standards high. Come on, I have
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: one here from Anna Flynn. Hello dads, this is a
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: future Milk Team sixer and wife of a devoted weekly listener.
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: My husband, Noah is turning twenty sixth. Is turning twenty
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: six on April sixth, and I would absolutely love to
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: make his year with a birthday shout out on the pod.
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: He's been listening every week for a long time now
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: and always shares the highlights with me. You guys made
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: us laugh so hard and even brought a few tears.
- 1:56:44Speaker 2: We recently found out we're expecting our first baby, a
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: little girl, Doe, in September nineteen.
- 1:56:49Speaker 3: Sember nineteen, that's my birthday, Come on.
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: And I actually surprised him with the news when he
- 1:56:54Speaker 2: got home from work by buying a PT six T
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: shirt bwtv dot com plug, something I had always joked
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: I would do one day. Noah is the most kind, harder, hardworking,
- 1:57:04Speaker 2: humble and goofy person.
- 1:57:05Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: He's such an amazing husband. I truly can't wait to
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: watch him become the best dad to our daughter. If
- 1:57:10Speaker 2: you could wish him a happy birthday, it would mean
- 1:57:12Speaker 2: the world best Anna Empt sixer in progress.
- 1:57:16Speaker 10: Noah, Happy birthday, dude.
- 1:57:31Speaker 3: No no, no, no, no, no, Happy birthday. Noah, Happy birthday.
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: No huh. There's a pretty picture of Noah in your card.
- 1:57:43Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah yeah, oh yeah yeah ye. Sorry, Let's
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: see that mug. What's he look like? Take two?
- 1:57:51Speaker 2: Take two pears. Noah and Anna is showing their ultrasound
- 1:57:56Speaker 2: No can't get copyrighted. Kodak Poppin' they're a beautiful couple.
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: They are wonderful. Seems like a stud, and it seems
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: like a stud Weekly listener. She gets all the good stuff.
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: What's he getting for his birthday? I know you got
- 1:58:20Speaker 3: a PT six sher, but I think was she getting
- 1:58:23Speaker 3: anything at like golf clubs.
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: Or maybe a couple of fun coupons?
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: Oh yeah, we could give him a fun coupon. So Noah,
- 1:58:31Speaker 3: for your birthday, for the dads, He's gifting you two
- 1:58:34Speaker 3: fun coupons, one that says shockwave and one that says
- 1:58:38Speaker 3: put a bow on its Happy birthday, Happy birthday. Come on, man,
- 1:58:45Speaker 3: you are welcome.
- 1:58:46Speaker 2: Yeah, let's start listening to Let's let's let's get you
- 1:58:49Speaker 2: becoming a weekly Listener's Yeah, we got your back to
- 1:58:54Speaker 2: Anna and it gets two coupons too.
- 1:58:58Speaker 3: To be determined, To be determined. I have a lesson
- 1:59:04Speaker 3: of the week and I have a quote. Dude, give
- 1:59:07Speaker 3: them both, feed them both to us. Do you want both?
- 1:59:11Speaker 3: Quote of the Week? I changed things up. I was
- 1:59:15Speaker 3: doing some research on Dan Gable. I was like, every
- 1:59:18Speaker 3: great hero has their doppelganger, their villain has who they're
- 1:59:24Speaker 3: going against. I found Dan Gables and you can correct
- 1:59:27Speaker 3: me on this If I'm wrong, will, but it looked
- 1:59:30Speaker 3: like Dan's rival was Ivan Kjorgan, a Russian Soviet Union wrestler,
- 1:59:40Speaker 3: Ivan who went up against Dan Gable and really gave
- 1:59:43Speaker 3: him the most trouble throughout Dan's career. Ivan had a
- 1:59:49Speaker 3: great quote that I wanted to read out please. He said,
- 1:59:52Speaker 3: I trained in the village every day like a peasant,
- 1:59:55Speaker 3: and I chopped enough firewood for three winners. That's Ivan Yargen.
- 2:00:02Speaker 3: That's the type of cicco that's gonna give a cicico
- 2:00:05Speaker 3: like Dan Gables some trouble. Yeah. I'm not just gonna
- 2:00:09Speaker 3: go out in chopped firewood. I'm gonna chop enough for
- 2:00:12Speaker 3: three winners. Yeah.
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: Then you got the story arc of Dan Gable, how
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: he became everybody's hero. Yeah, my hero I've been. I
- 2:00:22Speaker 2: mean I've been truly sounded like Ivan Drago. Oh yeah,
- 2:00:25Speaker 2: your name was what's kind of the villain you need?
- 2:00:28Speaker 3: Yeah? And I was like, was the loone like kind
- 2:00:31Speaker 3: of a Dan Gable cicico? Is that where the Rocky
- 2:00:34Speaker 3: four plot came from? I don't know now. My Lesson
- 2:00:39Speaker 3: of the Week is a recap from last week's Lesson
- 2:00:42Speaker 3: of the Week. Uh for those that are here.
- 2:00:47Speaker 2: No way, that's Dan Gable. What was he saying, Once
- 2:00:52Speaker 2: you've wrestled, everything in life is easy?
- 2:00:56Speaker 3: Can we get I think we've said that one before.
- 2:00:58Speaker 1: We probably haven't.
- 2:00:59Speaker 3: Oh probably, Yeah, it's so nice. We said it twice, Yeah, chef,
- 2:01:04Speaker 3: can we and we're wrestling with our kids every day?
- 2:01:06Speaker 3: In post? Will do you mind holding in post? Can
- 2:01:10Speaker 3: we get a nice little zoom on Dan there? Yeah? Yeah,
- 2:01:13Speaker 3: we can do that.
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: Let people understand who we're talking about it.
- 2:01:17Speaker 3: We look at that.
- 2:01:18Speaker 1: That's Dan Gable.
- 2:01:21Speaker 3: Golly, he looks good. Well he does man? We okay,
- 2:01:27Speaker 3: So last week, let's know, the week was owning something
- 2:01:30Speaker 3: to take it off of your wife's plate. Don't just
- 2:01:33Speaker 3: do chores when the chores need to be done. Own
- 2:01:37Speaker 3: a part of the house, so that is off of
- 2:01:40Speaker 3: wifey's checklist. Because a female brain works different from a
- 2:01:45Speaker 3: male brain, they're always processing stuff. There's it's a constant
- 2:01:49Speaker 3: to do lists by you. Owning the bathroom per se
- 2:01:52Speaker 3: is what I said I was gonna own that will
- 2:01:55Speaker 3: take something off of her? Is the bathroom clean? Do
- 2:01:58Speaker 3: we need toilet paper? Blah blah blah. She doesn't have
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: to worry about it. Husband's got it. I have an update,
- 2:02:05Speaker 3: I have a further pledge, and I wrote a little
- 2:02:08Speaker 3: something here. I may be getting ahead of myself, but
- 2:02:12Speaker 3: I have a new domain that I'll be taking charge
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: of in our new home that we're moving to. This
- 2:02:19Speaker 3: is in addition to the bathrooms the garage. And I
- 2:02:26Speaker 3: know what the ptsicos are thinking, Sherman, that's a given.
- 2:02:31Speaker 3: Ptsiicos are born in the garage, molded by it all
- 2:02:36Speaker 3: great points. However, this will be not just any garage.
- 2:02:40Speaker 3: It will have daily surveillance, it will have weekly vacuuming,
- 2:02:44Speaker 3: weekly leaf blowing. But it will not only be the garage.
- 2:02:49Speaker 3: You will be the stallions that inhabit the stables. My
- 2:02:53Speaker 3: wife's car is included in the umbrella of the garage.
- 2:02:59Speaker 3: Far too long? How's my wife set there with her
- 2:03:02Speaker 3: her oil unchanged, her tires low. I will be taking
- 2:03:06Speaker 3: full responsibility for those things as well. Get our hot.
- 2:03:22Speaker 5: Please, please, don't you have already heard a non copyrighted
- 2:03:26Speaker 5: rap three times in this uh this episode?
- 2:03:29Speaker 3: Let's not four? Maybe a folk song? Hey, what you
- 2:03:33Speaker 3: know what we could do? We could cover that song.
- 2:03:39Speaker 3: We could make our own little cover and then we
- 2:03:40Speaker 3: could play it anytime we want on the podcast. Sure
- 2:03:43Speaker 3: that'd be fun, Like it would be fun like a
- 2:03:45Speaker 3: kid's pop version, but a PT six pop. Let's get
- 2:03:51Speaker 3: out of here man. Great sod, Yeah, great sod? Right,
- 2:03:57Speaker 3: areat so terrific? So terrific? A is there a timeline
- 2:04:01Speaker 3: for like the car or like you're you're watching it?
- 2:04:05Speaker 3: And he said you're giving like sweeping and leaf blowing.
- 2:04:07Speaker 3: I love that. He said weekly surveillance for sure, Mom's car.
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: We were looking at it.
- 2:04:13Speaker 3: That's I just didn't know if you had a thought
- 2:04:15Speaker 3: you wanted to finish with Mom's car before we left.
- 2:04:16Speaker 3: Oh no, that was it.
- 2:04:17Speaker 1: That was it. That was as deep as though win.
- 2:04:24Speaker 3: It goes super deep, apient fools. Here is the weekly breakdown.
- 2:04:28Speaker 3: I put on a spreadsheet. I didn't actually I wish,
- 2:04:32Speaker 3: But how does Mom's car get all the servicing that
- 2:04:36Speaker 3: you're talking about? When I go to take my car
- 2:04:39Speaker 3: to get service, I also do moms, which I have
- 2:04:41Speaker 3: not been doing. In the drive both cars there and
- 2:04:45Speaker 3: lies and you can drive both cars.
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: Yeah big time. Because again you guys said, we operate
- 2:04:52Speaker 2: different Our species operate differently. We can sit men can
- 2:04:56Speaker 2: sit in the chaos and the clutter women can't. Yeah,
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: so you going to take your car back? A every
- 2:05:03Speaker 2: time I do it, I'm gonna get your sweetheart. She'll
- 2:05:06Speaker 2: be living in the clutter so much longer because she's
- 2:05:08Speaker 2: waiting on you to go do yours and then she's like, hey,
- 2:05:12Speaker 2: when you doing your vehicle because I just gotta figure
- 2:05:14Speaker 2: out what mine's happening. You're not gonna do it anytime,
- 2:05:16Speaker 2: sooning like, I can just go do it myself. Do
- 2:05:20Speaker 2: you see the issue that could be is this like
- 2:05:24Speaker 2: a wait you're saying.
- 2:05:27Speaker 3: You're saying she's gonna be frustrated because I go to
- 2:05:31Speaker 3: do my car and she's gonna be like, when are
- 2:05:32Speaker 3: you gonna get my car?
- 2:05:34Speaker 7: No?
- 2:05:34Speaker 3: No, do you understand what I'm saying? Yeah, one hundred percent.
- 2:05:36Speaker 3: I think the biggest thing is that we want you
- 2:05:38Speaker 3: to think through your pledge a little more. Not in
- 2:05:40Speaker 3: a bad way, yeah, but just because if you're taking
- 2:05:42Speaker 3: your car to get serviced, that means her is not
- 2:05:45Speaker 3: going to get serviced at the same time if you
- 2:05:47Speaker 3: have them together, unless you're doing a hitch situation. Otherwise, Oh,
- 2:05:51Speaker 3: that would be like like his mom's getting serviced. What
- 2:05:54Speaker 3: is it called bi weekly? Yeah?
- 2:05:56Speaker 1: Every other week.
- 2:05:57Speaker 3: Yes, bi weekly is every other week, like, so we'll
- 2:06:00Speaker 3: say it's bi weekly. To where you're checking on the maintenance.
- 2:06:03Speaker 2: You go in, you know what, it's kept up pretty nice,
- 2:06:05Speaker 2: doesn't need a car wash, ts are tires are in
- 2:06:07Speaker 2: there this weekend. I don't need to do it. Let's
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: just say it's happening once a month. To where you're
- 2:06:11Speaker 2: you're you're in your pledge. It sounds like you'd be
- 2:06:15Speaker 2: doing her car before you do yours.
- 2:06:23Speaker 3: You know. Derek actually brings up a really good point.
- 2:06:28Speaker 3: I'll look into it. I'll look into it. Okay, good
- 2:06:33Speaker 3: pledge for the first thing that comes to mind, stagger,
- 2:06:36Speaker 3: the stagger the weekends. Yeah, she has her card maintenance weekend.
- 2:06:42Speaker 3: I have mine. And if it's every other then it's
- 2:06:45Speaker 3: bi weekly. You just got to figure out what you're playing. Yeah,
- 2:06:49Speaker 3: because right now, if you just say whenever I do mine,
- 2:06:51Speaker 3: i'm gonna do hers, like I'll look into it, it
- 2:06:56Speaker 3: could feel kind of empty. Oh for sure, I mean
- 2:06:59Speaker 3: I'll I'll look into it. I'll look into it. Okay,
- 2:07:03Speaker 3: that's all we can ask for. Yeah, Yeah, this is powerful,
- 2:07:07Speaker 3: This feels good, isn't it? Take your trash out? We
- 2:07:13Speaker 3: love you, we appreciate you. Pet sickos Out
