Go to the website, get yourselves an apocalyptic apparel t-shirt while you're there. Also leave us an audio message at the top of the page. Let us know your thoughts. Good morning, everybody. Today is Wednesday, May 27th. Good morning. It's hump day. You've made it halfway through the week, right? we get on this kick about the day of the week. know, it's Wednesday, it's Tuesday, it's Monday, it's Thursday. And I got to tell you, I've worked jobs where this didn't matter. I worked a modified DuPont schedule, and I absolutely love that. Probably one of my favorite schedules to be on now in the grand scheme of things Can you live a normal life like everybody does? ⁓ absolutely. Do you get every weekend off? No, is that okay though? Yeah, cuz I like days off during the week to go do things I like to be productive during the week I just don't want to sit and be stationary at a job Monday through Friday Then we go out and see what's going on throughout the week, too I do anyway, so we all get hung up on the day and look at other days worse than others and this year has been a very bizarre year for me. When it comes to schedules, work, what's going on outside of work, fucking weather patterns in my area, it's been wild. And I've been trying to develop this new mentality of just fuck it. Fuck it, doesn't matter, fuck it. Because I want every day that I live and breathe and get up and move. I want these to be productive days. I want to feel accomplished. I want to get shit done. I want to progress and push forward and keep going. And there's things that hinder the fuck out of that. Work schedules, weather, what the kids have going on, other people's schedules I'm trying to adhere to. It's a gigantic pain in the ass. And then I came to the realization that it doesn't fucking matter what day it is. Doesn't matter. You're either going to get shit done or you're not going to get shit done. It doesn't matter what time the sun comes up. It doesn't matter what time the sun goes down. We've all been living our lives in this like facade of a clock. Right? And I say, no more do we do that. I say, let's knock that shit off. And you've done this. You know, you've done this. I'll to do that till the weekend. You know what? That's going to be my springtime project. Cause blah. And granted it does apply to some things and you have to wait weather permitting, et cetera. But I mean, springtime coming, get the warm weather to do it, but then you might get rained out. So for those of you that didn't know this, I have a buddy in town right now. He's up here helping me on the homestead get stuff done and we've been getting rained out every day. We've got four hours of actual solid work done in a fucking week because of the rain. So We're kind of over here ping ponging back and forth, like just watching the weather, hoping that we'll be able to get stuff done. And it's just like not, it's not happening. And it is absolutely killing me because he flew up here and we barked through a week of not doing jack shit. So now we're in this, we're in this situation of what do we do now? Because he's obviously not moving in. He can't stay here forever. So I was absolutely. ecstatically happy when he said, well, I think I could stay till June 28th. And I'm like, dude, that's like a whole fucking month up here, man. He's like, yeah, I know. And I was like, you know what? This could be really, really good because usually the circumstances persist when he gets here. There's a lot of fuckery initially, and we finally tie in and get a good game plan together and it starts fucking flowing. And that happened immediately this go around, but then the rain, then the fucking rain. So hopefully this extended time we'll actually get some more days of work in and then you know it won't be so goddamn bad and you know we'll be able to accomplish more of the projects we're trying to get accomplished okay. I have a lot of stuff that I want to get done over the course of this summer a lot and it's going to be a lot of work and I added in a very huge big ass project. I turning a majority of the part of my one portion of my property into ⁓ an Airbnb campground. And I think I've talked about this on the show before, but it's a lot of work. Anyway, we'll be right back after these messages. Hey, Producer Scooter here. First off, thank you for downloading and participating in the wide world of Jester Do. Everywhere on social media, at Jester Dooms. If you haven't already, make sure to like, share, and subscribe to the show. Now, I... Okay. There's a lot going on in the media currently. This new shots fired thing at the White House. everything that's, we're starting to see a debacle with the airlines guys. I don't know if, any of you are following anything, like it seems like there's some weird airline stuff going on. It's been like trending first, we had the Spirit Airlines shut down. Then we have ⁓ them telling us they're going to dump millions and billions of dollars into revamp these airports. And then, you know, Alaska Airlines is up for some fines over some drunk passenger bullshit. I haven't gotten into that yet, but. It seems like there's something going on and I wonder if it's this like weird thing that people, know, the airlines know people are going to be traveling and they need to know that airlines exist for their travel plans or something. It's weird. Anyway, it's weird. That has been a big topic kind of in circles in my circles, the airline things. Okay. So now there was something that happened that really piqued my interest and we'll probably get into this in a later episode. the actual what I found out and trying to find validity in it and trying to find a good article to confirm things about it. Right. So basically the long and the short is I stumbled across something online talking about how AI is now capable of designing its own jet propulsion engines. Okay. And apparently these are far superior to anything that engineers have come up with thus far. Efficiency thrust like everything is there. Reliability, it's all there. What would have taken engineers decades to come up with and test and fine tune? AI is doing this in a couple of days, running its own digital simulations and everything. AI has been such a big topic lately for everybody, because everybody's starting to use it. I use it, but I use AI more like a search engine and a creation tool versus you know, what's actually going on. Now, the thing about AI that is very scary with the AI world, it's got a lot of that like false profit vibe to it. And I haven't heard anybody say this yet, but it does. It has that false profit vibe. Hear me out when I say this. You're talking to something, you're communicating with something that is not there. Now, we as human beings, we make personalities for things, okay? Like if your car's acting up, you might say something like, my car's being very temperamental today. Well, car doesn't have emotions. It doesn't get temperamental. Your car's got something wrong with it and needs to be fixed. Right. Or we say something like, my computer's acting goofy today. Well, goofy is a described, I guess you would say action that someone does like they're acting goofy. Right. Like, ⁓ stay away from him. That's a goofy guy. You're using that. to describe somebody as a description. And I guess that's how it translates into, my computer's being goofy. You're using it to describe that your computer's not working right today. But we as human beings have been for years kind of taking these inanimate objects or these materialistic possessions or computers or machines or automobiles or whatever, and giving them personalities and even naming them. How many people out there have named their cars, right? Now, You have a machine, this AI machine that is interacting back with you when your car can't do that. Other things can't do that, but we're still giving these things names, right? So when I say that there's this false profit thing, there's a reliability on AI and it's becoming more of a thing where people are utterly reliant on it. And you have people out there that believe all the information they're getting from the AI is 100 % factual and correct. That is not always the case. So what this AI is doing is it's like super, it's almost superseding humans, like a superior thought process over the human mind's capability to process information and think on its own. Okay? So when you're sitting there using like, say, chat GPT to find out the answer to a question, or you're using chat GPT to make a funny picture or whatever, you can't physically, you don't have the, the brain power to sit down, hand draw that funny picture. You're not going to get on a design program and make it. You're not going to edit pictures like, no, AI is easier. I'm using that. You're not going to sift through online articles and read indefinitely for days to try to find answers in a brief summary and take the time to write down a hypothesis on something and come to a summarization on it and say, okay, this is what I got from the subject. We're using AI for that now. And it's such a reliable thing. It's becoming like, you know, remember how people used to say, oh, I'll Google it. I don't know what the answer is. I'll Google it. Now they're saying, hold on, let me use ChatGPT. Hold on, let me consult Grok. Hold on, let me do this so I can get this answer to this problem. Now, you might still be asking yourself, Dooms, how are you saying that this is a false prophet? Well, it's very simple. We're putting faith in AI. And we're doing so on a very large scale. It's kind of scary. Now, to continue moving forward with this conversation of the AI, which we've talked about many times on the show already. Today, I discovered that AI is, like I said, I have to go back and I have to read the articles and I got to confirm it. But I was today years old when I learned that AI could design jet propulsion engine systems. Yesterday, If you would have told me that was something that was coming, I would have said, no, I don't believe it. But here we are. So moving forward into this, this lovely talk of AI. Yesterday, I didn't know it could develop jet propulsion engine systems. Today, I know that. What are we going to learn tomorrow? What are we going to learn that this can do next week? Are they going to start designing automobiles with this? Are they going to start designing, I don't know, boats, houses? ⁓ water heaters, furnaces. The idea with the AI is it compacts all this data and guess breaks it down and finds flaws in the system. Counterintuitive data more than likely removes the counterintuitive data and tries to get from A to C without going through B and comes up with something better than what we can do and can virtually test these things and it's virtual simulators. And then boom, here's a product. Here's a blueprint. Here's how you build it. There it is. So you want to talk about a rapidly increasing future. And this is where I think, ⁓ shit, this just got real. If these engines are successful and they run and they work and we find out that this is the best thing since sliced bread that every new plane is going to have these on them. Now you're talking the next thing might be AI designed aircraft, AI designed passenger aircraft. Now that gets a little bit scary. We want AI designing computer systems for planes. Because I sure as fuck don't. The general overall design of the plane for aerodynamics and seating capacity and wingspan and all of that crazy data engineers have to crunch, yeah, that might be great. But the computer systems that go in there, I don't think so. I don't know. Things that are actually controlling the plane, I don't know if I can get on board with that. But then it goes even further beyond that. We're launching satellites into space at a rapid rate. What if AI tells us, these satellites are not fucking efficient, we've got a better way. And what if all of a sudden AI comes up with some crazy fucking system that is able to ping pong signals around the fucking earth just based on the goddamn atmosphere. It discovers a signal we haven't set yet. It discovers a certain megahertz that bounces off the atmosphere, it discovers a certain wavelength of sound that is capable of traveling further. What happens when it's like all of our technology becomes obsolete because AI found out better ways to do shit? And then to go beyond that, that's one side of that. Communications, aerospace, that's a big, big side though. You're talking potential future travel to the moon. there's a hypothetical, okay? We've all seen, you know, sci-fi movies and stuff with, you know, travel to the moon and blah, blah, blah. you know, there's, you know, what if we have a fucking theme park on the moon one day and AI has developed a very good shuttlecraft that can get people back and forth to the moon very easy. And it calculates, you know, best time of year to leave, best time of day, shortest flight, longest flight. This aircraft will transport this many people at this speed. So you can get on this one, you can get to the moon in X amount of hours, you get on this one, it's gonna be a little bit longer, but there's no layovers, obviously, because you're fucking traveling. But then also, what if it designs better space stations? What if it designs self-sustainable ships that can get you way away from this planet? What if it discovers light speed capability? What if? We've given AI the information for the jet propulsion engine system, what happens when they scrap that and the AI says, no, we got something better, some kind of crazy dark matter fusion compactor thing, and it's like, boom, we got light speed. And then we're capable of some crazy shit going crazy far into space. mean, an age old question I heard a lot when I was a kid, if you were going light speed in a car, would your headlights still illuminate the road or would you be catching up to your headlights? And there's everybody comes in with a different answer. Well, your, your headlights are moving at light speed. So your headlight beam would be projecting double light speed. So yeah, everything would still be eliminated and it's like, it? Because you are progressing just as fast as that light is. So you might catch your headlights. I don't know. It's weird. Anyway, we'll be right back after these messages. Can't get enough of Jester Dooms? Check out his other show, It's Doomsday Podcast, available on all podcast platforms. That's It's Doomsday Podcast. Back to the show. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the Doomed Daily Show. I am your crazy ass host, Jester Dooms. Welcome back to the show. If you haven't done so already, make sure to like, share, and subscribe. We greatly appreciate it. Now, we had talked about the aerospace stuff. I want to get into real world everyday applications of technologies that we might see go bananas in the next 10 years. Now, I want you to think of some of your most common jobs, jobs that everybody knows somebody that does. Carpenters, doctors, lawyers, police, fire, EMS, plumbers, electricians, auto mechanics, like all these jobs that you know of that exist. I'm not talking a barista. I'm not talking the repo man. I'm not talking like those offshoot jobs that aren't like you got to go to school for X amount of years to get the degree and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, right? A lot of jobs come with tools. Okay. And I don't give a fuck what... profession you're in, you have a toolbox. All right. If you're the repo man, your toolbox is obviously your truck. That's your main thing. You're repossessing cars, but your main toolbox that you have is manipulation with people using verbal judo to calm down situations, uh, manipulating people into giving you those keys. So like that is their toolbox. Mind power, manipulation, quick thinkers, being able to, you know, to think quickly on their feet, being wittier than the client. the client's debtor, like there's a lot in there to unpack with a Reto Man's toolbox, right? Now, same can be said with a lawyer. The lawyer's toolbox is knowing the laws, knowing the constitution, local, federal rules, regulation and law, and being a smooth, quick talker, make it a jury like them, like that's in their toolbox, right? Okay. Now, someone like a paramedic, yeah, you have a jump bag and all this fancy medical equipment, but... You also possess that knowledge of how to talk to people, how to find out what's wrong with them, going through with your patient assessment and really knowing what is wrong with your patient, right? And utilizing the skills you possess through school and time on the job and the experience coupled with things you've seen in the past. And you couple these all together and you get an amazing toolbox. Okay. Same can be said for a doctor. Same could be said for a plumber. Same could be said for everybody. Now, the thing with AI is AI does not experience the actual real world interpersonal one-on-one human contact connection. So the idea that an AI paramedic, no, no, no, will never fucking happen. An Android paramod, no, no, no, no, not in our lifetime. Maybe in a few hundred years, maybe when Android technology has like went through the roof and an Android can identify if somebody was lying to them. There's a lot of the times you'll have a patient that is lying to you, not telling you what symptoms they're actually having or what's going on due to fear of something. So let's try to hide from you and it makes your job harder. But if an AI is taking vitals and this adds up to this and they could diagnose you on spot, then fuck, what do you do? So there is a side of this. that I think is very beneficial. Every emergency first responder out there is continuously learning new procedures. They're getting new SOGs or SOPs, and they're getting new equipment to work with that they're getting trained on, and it just keeps going. For paramedics and EMTs and medical first responders, there's a lot of information there. If you're on like the fire side of things or the law enforcement side of things, it's not as frequent as medical technology is forever increasing and AI is going to increase that. But I want you guys to, when you get a second, some homework for you, get online and look up the history of firefighter turnout gear and go back and look at about 100 years ago to what we have today. Today we have specially designed bunker gear. that is designed in a way that is a layered system and each layer has its own function. And that is designed to keep you and your body safe from the boots, the pants, the gloves, everything. It's designed with a goal in mind and that is to keep that user of the equipment safe. Okay. We've also incorporated SCBAs. Okay. And this is your breathing apparatus that has a limited amount of air. Okay. And those have even transitioned and have gotten better because now they have auto on-offs. You suck it, it gives you air. You blow out, it vents, right? It knows it. Now we have comms built into these things. So you can hear your coworkers, your fellow firemen, right? Helmets have even upgraded. You've got helmets that have shields that pop down over your face now. The lighting that we can attach for these is thousands of lumens versus a couple of 500 candle power back in the 80s. So this is the transition. the reason I want you to do this, I want you to go and I want you to look at how much we've progressed in humanity, because everybody's seen a firefighter, everybody knows what a firefighter's job is. I want you to see where we were at versus where we are now in 100 years. And I want you to realize and think to yourself, this is without the help of AI. Now we have AI. So what are we going to be seeing moving forward? forward when it comes to first responder firefighter turnout gear, right? Now you might be talking lighter weight turnout gear that's more effective. You might be talking an SCBA that somehow recirculates air through a system and gives you additional breathe time in a fire. You might be talking about ⁓ turnout gear that's anti-crush proof to where This is designed with some kind of hexagon system inside to where when it gets under pressure outside of your body's normal shape, it tenses up so you don't have the roof falling on you and get broken ribs, right? So the idea that the progression can come from these systems is absolutely insane. The same could be said for law enforcement. I want you to do this as well. Go back and look up law enforcement pictures from 100 years ago versus today. There were no Axion body cams. There was no fucking hazers. There was no expandable batons. There was no semi-automatic pistols. There was no fucking ballistic vest with AR-15 mag pouches. None of this was a thing. And that's where we got with human thought. Now we have AI. And I think the shit's about to get crazy. Okay? Anyway, that's absolutely all the time we have for today. I hope everybody has a fantastic Wednesday. As you're listening to this, I'm going to be dodging the raindrops. once again, I appreciate you guys coming in. Producer Scooter and myself, thank you. If you wouldn't mind, make sure to hit that subscribe button and we will be back here for another exciting episode of the Doom Daily Show. Facts and opinions. This is...
