- 0:00Speaker 1: There is Money Night football game tonight with the Packers
- 0:03Speaker 1: playing the Saints. Saints are kind of in the same position,
- 0:06Speaker 1: well not kind of they are, They're in the same
- 0:08Speaker 1: position the Cowboys in that are in and that is
- 0:11Speaker 1: basically to play the role of spoiler and for pride
- 0:15Speaker 1: because they will not be in the playoffs. The Packers,
- 0:19Speaker 1: on the other hand, are trying to improve their wild
- 0:23Speaker 1: card because the first of all, they can clinch the
- 0:25Speaker 1: playoffs pobably win the night, and they can do that,
- 0:31Speaker 1: then they can actually improve their playoff positioning in the
- 0:36Speaker 1: law coach, because right now, if it ended, they'd be
- 0:38Speaker 1: like in the sixth seed because it is so clogged
- 0:42Speaker 1: up in the NFC North between the Lions and the Vikings,
- 0:47Speaker 1: both of them are thirteen and two, and the Packers
- 0:50Speaker 1: can draw a little bit closer to all that with
- 0:53Speaker 1: a win. But remember the Lions and Vikings have to
- 0:56Speaker 1: play each other last game of the year. Now I
- 0:58Speaker 1: believe the Vikings and let's see, I think the Packers
- 1:01Speaker 1: play the Bears next week and then the Lions and
- 1:07Speaker 1: the Vikings play the last game of the year, so
- 1:11Speaker 1: that could be not only for the division title, and
- 1:14Speaker 1: it's nice twin division titles. In the NFL, it is,
- 1:18Speaker 1: but what they're looking for is the number one seed
- 1:21Speaker 1: because remember this, the four division champions in each conference
- 1:26Speaker 1: draw first round bys or not first round by excuse me.
- 1:30Speaker 1: They draw the seeds where they'll have home games. They'll
- 1:34Speaker 1: all have home games, and as it stands in the AFC,
- 1:42Speaker 1: the Chiefs are going to have home field throughout the playoffs.
- 1:47Speaker 1: But Buffalo has won the East, and then that battle
- 1:52Speaker 1: in the North is still there between Pittsburgh and Baltimore
- 1:57Speaker 1: after the Ravens beat the Steelers the other night, and
- 2:01Speaker 1: then in the South, the Texans of Clinton the playoffs
- 2:03Speaker 1: pot and they're looking to wrap up the vision. In
- 2:05Speaker 1: the NFC, the South is up for grabs because of
- 2:09Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's lost to the Cowboys last night, so.
- 2:14Speaker 2: It's Tampa Bay is tied with Atlanta.
- 2:17Speaker 1: They're both eight and seven, but Atlanta swept Tampa Bay
- 2:23Speaker 1: during the year, so they have they hold the tie
- 2:24Speaker 1: break on It's similar to the Rams deal with the Seahawks,
- 2:27Speaker 1: which you'll get to in a minute, but Atlanta holds
- 2:30Speaker 1: the tie break there. But Atlanta has to play up
- 2:34Speaker 1: Washington this week. It's a big game and I think
- 2:37Speaker 1: the Bucks have a slightly better closing schedule, so we'll
- 2:40Speaker 1: see how that winds up. Philadelphia is obviously going to
- 2:43Speaker 1: win the East. Either de twiter Minnesota is going to
- 2:46Speaker 1: win the North. The team that does not win the
- 2:48Speaker 1: North that loses that game if they go into it
- 2:50Speaker 1: tiede and they want to if the team that loses
- 2:52Speaker 1: that game. And here's the importance of the old thing,
- 2:55Speaker 1: they drop from a one seed to a five seed
- 2:58Speaker 1: because the top four seeds your division winners. So either
- 3:02Speaker 1: Minnesota or Detroit is going to win the NFC North,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and whoever doesn't win that game win the division is
- 3:09Speaker 1: not only not going to be the one seed overall,
- 3:11Speaker 1: they go from being the number one overall seed to
- 3:15Speaker 1: being the number five seed and having to play on
- 3:18Speaker 1: the road.
- 3:19Speaker 2: So there's that. So there's a lot at stake on that.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And then in the West, the Rams hold a one
- 3:27Speaker 1: game lead on Seattle. Los Angeles also holds the tie
- 3:31Speaker 1: break on the Seahawks. They have beaten them, but they
- 3:33Speaker 1: do have to play them one more time. They play
- 3:36Speaker 1: Arizona first, and that's on Saturday Night. That got flexed
- 3:39Speaker 1: in the Saturday Night Cardinals and forty nine Ers were
- 3:42Speaker 1: both eliminated yesterday, so we'll see what kind of mindset
- 3:45Speaker 1: the Cardinals have. As the Rams win that game and
- 3:50Speaker 1: maintain that one game lead on Seattle, they're.
- 3:52Speaker 2: In position to win the division there.
- 3:53Speaker 1: So there's still quite a bit to be determined over
- 3:58Speaker 1: these final three final two ball games of the regular season.
- 4:01Speaker 1: The Rams close at home against both the Cardinals and
- 4:04Speaker 1: then the Seahawks. That Lions Vikings game should be box office.
- 4:10Speaker 2: It should be really.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Something to see how that ultimately winds up. There are
- 4:15Speaker 1: some really impactful games that are still to be played
- 4:21Speaker 1: involving these teams, so both in the NFC and the AFC,
- 4:25Speaker 1: so it's gonna be a lot of fun to watch.
- 4:26Speaker 1: And even the Cowboys can continue to try to play spoiler.
- 4:28Speaker 1: And that's the situation that the Saints are in with
- 4:30Speaker 1: the Packers today. By the way, in the bowl game,
- 4:33Speaker 1: they're in the second overtime. Northern Illinois actually holds a
- 4:35Speaker 1: twenty eight twenty lead over Fresno State. Fresny's let almost
- 4:38Speaker 1: the whole game when they have them and tied, but
- 4:40Speaker 1: now Fresno has a fourth and nine, so they're gonna
- 4:45Speaker 1: have to do it all right, So we get ready
- 4:47Speaker 1: to wrap it all up. And thank goodness, my man
- 4:53Speaker 1: Ronald picked up on my tradition. He knew that out
- 4:57Speaker 1: of all of the Christmas song, the Christmas carols and
- 5:01Speaker 1: all of those things.
- 5:04Speaker 2: This is my all time favorite. It's Nat King cole
- 5:07Speaker 2: Jack with the Christmas song.
- 5:12Speaker 1: It was my dad's favorites, and I liked it. On
- 5:15Speaker 1: this kid, I didn't think about it, but then the
- 5:17Speaker 1: further I got away from it over time, and then
- 5:20Speaker 1: my father passed away back a little over thirty years ago,
- 5:23Speaker 1: but it kind of came back to me and I,
- 5:26Speaker 1: you know, it started to resonate again, especially as I
- 5:30Speaker 1: became a father and all that. So anyway, by the way,
- 5:35Speaker 1: it has gone final in that bowl game, Northern Nilla,
- 5:37Speaker 1: Norway wins over Fresno, who stayed in overtime, two overtimes,
- 5:41Speaker 1: two overtimes. They went it twenty eight to twenty in
- 5:44Speaker 1: double overtime. All right, Really hope that your holiday season
- 5:50Speaker 1: goes well and we'll be back and we'll be ready
- 5:57Speaker 1: to go the day after Christmas on the twenty sixth.
- 6:00Speaker 1: So just came through a very busy week with all
- 6:05Speaker 1: the state championship joined. Six of the state championship games
- 6:07Speaker 1: and it was a Texas women's game last week, and
- 6:09Speaker 1: then obviously the Longhorns College FOOTBA playoff game against Clemson,
- 6:13Speaker 1: and so we will transition in getting ready for the
- 6:19Speaker 1: college football Playoff quarterfinal at the Peach Bowl.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Texas and Arizona State. Thanks you so much.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Thanks to our man Cameron Parker, who, though sick, gave
- 6:30Speaker 1: us the highlight montage.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Thanks as well for.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Our producer this afternoon, that would be Ronald Savage. I'm

- 6:40Speaker 1: merry Christmas. Everybody will visit with you on the twenty
