- 0:00Speaker 1: This we has flown off Seattle.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Welcome to Seattle Krakin Hockey on the Global Credit Union
- 0:07Speaker 2: krakkin Naudio Network. Brought to you by Coor's Life, Your
- 0:11Speaker 2: Western Washington, Toyota Dealers, Virginia Mason, Franciscan Health, Muckleshute Casino Resort,
- 0:17Speaker 2: and by Luna and Simetra.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Thursday Night in Edmonton saw one of Seattle's best offensive
- 0:24Speaker 3: performances of the season. However, it was also one of
- 0:28Speaker 3: the worst defensive performances we've seen in recent memory that
- 0:32Speaker 3: led to a fourth consecutive loss for the Krackt.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Conor McDavid led the way with the hat trick and an.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Assist for the Oilers, who scored three goals in each
- 0:41Speaker 3: period for the first time since nineteen eighty six on
- 0:45Speaker 3: their way to a nine to four win. Tonight, Seattle
- 0:48Speaker 3: returns home to begin a three game homestand against the
- 0:52Speaker 3: Detroit Red Wings, who have lost five of their last
- 0:54Speaker 3: six games.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Allowing four or more goals five times in that span
- 0:59Speaker 1: as well.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Good evening, Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome back inside of Climate
- 1:03Speaker 3: Plaid Arena alongside Al Koniski. I Am Everett fits you
- 1:06Speaker 3: this is Seattle krag and Hockey on the Global Credit
- 1:09Speaker 3: Union Kragendaudio network. You are listening to the pregame show
- 1:12Speaker 3: served up by Frost Brew, Corse Light Choose Chill Al.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It was Murphy's Law for Seattle on Thursday.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Everything that could go wrong did go wrong for the
- 1:22Speaker 3: Seattle crack and they allowed three in the first.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Three and the second three and the third they go
- 1:27Speaker 1: four for I guess one for five on the penalty kill.
- 1:31Speaker 3: They did snap a four game power play gold drought,
- 1:34Speaker 3: Eli Tolbenen scoring on the power play, snapping a six
- 1:38Speaker 3: game goal drout for himself. But all in all, Lane
- 1:42Speaker 3: Lambert said it. Players said it not good enough in
- 1:45Speaker 3: that nine to four lost Edmonton.
- 1:46Speaker 4: No, absolutely, And the problem wasn't the offensive end of
- 1:49Speaker 4: the ice. It was the defensive end. You can start
- 1:51Speaker 4: from goaltending, but defense is a team game. It was goltending,
- 1:55Speaker 4: it was defensive, was forwards, it was everybody. As you said,
- 1:57Speaker 4: everything that could go wrong went wrong.
- 1:59Speaker 3: First time franchise history, the Seattle Kraken have allowed nine
- 2:02Speaker 3: goals in a game. First time in franchise history, the
- 2:05Speaker 3: Seattle Kracken have allowed four power play goals in a
- 2:08Speaker 3: game as well.
- 2:08Speaker 1: We touched on some of the positives. It wasn't all bad.
- 2:11Speaker 3: The cracking for the sixth time this season, finding their
- 2:14Speaker 3: offense four goals in that game, also out hitting Edmondson
- 2:17Speaker 3: as well. The physicality was there. You expected that to
- 2:20Speaker 3: happen from the game on Saturday, that four nothing lost.
- 2:23Speaker 3: But as Jordan Everly so eloquently put it this morning,
- 2:27Speaker 3: you score four goals, great, you can't give up nine
- 2:30Speaker 3: and expect to win hockey games.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Yeah, the physicality, the goals were great. Shots on goal
- 2:33Speaker 4: were also fantastic. Twenty four and nineteen. The Kraken led
- 2:36Speaker 4: after two periods and at the end of the game
- 2:38Speaker 4: it was thirty two a piast. There were enough bucks
- 2:40Speaker 4: that got to the endton Net just.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Gave up too many dinner in and on the other
- 2:44Speaker 3: side of the red line, the Detroit Red Wings, after
- 2:46Speaker 3: getting off to a pretty hot start, they had cooled
- 2:48Speaker 3: off here as of late one three and two in
- 2:51Speaker 3: their last six they've been outscored twenty nine to twenty
- 2:54Speaker 3: one in that time. And I mentioned it before. They've
- 2:56Speaker 3: allowed five or more goals nine times this season, which
- 3:00Speaker 3: leeds the NHL, and in their last six games, they've
- 3:03Speaker 3: allowed at least four in five of them.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Yeah, but despite all that, the last four times these
- 3:08Speaker 4: two teams have met, Detroit's come up with the wins.
- 3:11Speaker 4: So Seattle's got to factor that into their game prep
- 3:13Speaker 4: tonight because you know, Detroit.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Will first of five home games between now and the
- 3:18Speaker 3: Christmas breaks. Seattle a three game homestand tonight and against
- 3:20Speaker 3: the Wings, Monday against Minnesota, and Wednesday against the La Kings.

- 6:41Speaker 8: Light landing in section twenty here at Climbing Pledge Arena
- 6:44Speaker 8: with a Kraken opening up their homestand first of three
- 6:47Speaker 8: games and a record of eleven eight and six at
- 6:50Speaker 8: twenty eight points, a or two out of the cut
- 6:52Speaker 8: line of the Western Conference. But coming home, they've been
- 6:54Speaker 8: pretty good here as well, six to three and three,
- 6:57Speaker 8: and they face the Red Wings, who are fourteen eleven
- 7:00Speaker 8: and three thirty one points and right now about to
- 7:04Speaker 8: embark on their second game of a six game road trip,
- 7:08Speaker 8: with the Kraken trying to improve on their four to
- 7:10Speaker 8: two and three had to head record against Detroits. Well,
- 7:14Speaker 8: this evenings team could be coined as possible redemption because
- 7:18Speaker 8: last game was full of disappointment in a nine to
- 7:20Speaker 8: four loss to Edmonton on Thursday. As Everett now mentioned,
- 7:24Speaker 8: the nine goals allowed most in cracking history for one game.
- 7:28Speaker 8: The four power play goals allowed most in one game
- 7:31Speaker 8: in Cracking history, and that also included a goalie change.
- 7:34Speaker 8: Joey Decor the starter out from the second period five
- 7:37Speaker 8: goals on fourteen shots. Philip Grubauer didn't fare much better
- 7:41Speaker 8: four goals on eighteen shots in the second period, a
- 7:44Speaker 8: big turning point after the Krack had nearly a racing
- 7:47Speaker 8: a three to nothing deficit in the first period, but
- 7:50Speaker 8: Edmonton pulling away with three unanswered goals in a span
- 7:54Speaker 8: of six twenty five and by the end of ed
- 7:56Speaker 8: Connor McDavid had a thirteenth career hat trick. Afterwards, the
- 8:00Speaker 8: Kraken took yesterday off no practice period, and captain Jordan
- 8:04Speaker 8: Everley said this morning is because they needed a reset
- 8:08Speaker 8: more than anything.
- 8:09Speaker 11: Trying to reset, recalibrate. You know, obviously nine nine to
- 8:13Speaker 11: four doesn't it's not what you want. Who've lost three
- 8:17Speaker 11: in a row. I think it's I mean, you're gonna
- 8:18Speaker 11: go through adverse, thary adversity through the season and they've
- 8:21Speaker 11: never been on a team who hasn't, So just how
- 8:23Speaker 11: you come out of it. I mean, we've got to
- 8:24Speaker 11: get another good opportunity tonight to you know, meet the
- 8:27Speaker 11: challenge and against a really good hockey team, so you know,
- 8:30Speaker 11: kind of just reset and get back to what we
- 8:32Speaker 11: know we're good at our game and then go from there.
- 8:36Speaker 8: Meaning that challenge would also mean potentially ending a run
- 8:39Speaker 8: of three and one in the last four games, all
- 8:42Speaker 8: because of a mashup of issues in that stretch. First
- 8:45Speaker 8: two games of that the Kraken scoring just two goals,
- 8:48Speaker 8: last two games they were beaten and blowout fashion before
- 8:51Speaker 8: nothing and nine to four, but both games also coming
- 8:54Speaker 8: at the hands of Edmonton. The special teams also needing
- 8:58Speaker 8: a big turnaround here for the recent stretch. The power
- 9:00Speaker 8: play one of three on Thursday, they went previously zero
- 9:03Speaker 8: of fourteen and the penalty kill, giving up power play
- 9:06Speaker 8: goals six power play goals last seven chances, and they
- 9:10Speaker 8: have fallen into the basement of the NHL overall and
- 9:13Speaker 8: the crack and trying to end this four game winless skid,
- 9:15Speaker 8: which is their longest of this season. A few issues
- 9:18Speaker 8: that they're trying to get corrected here for this evening,
- 9:21Speaker 8: our cracking story lines first up begin with lineup changes,
- 9:24Speaker 8: most notably no Jamie Alexiak on the back end, looking
- 9:28Speaker 8: like he's a healthy scratch. Josh Bhurros back in his
- 9:31Speaker 8: first game back after sitting out the previous twelve, and
- 9:33Speaker 8: I'll pair up with Ryker Evans on defense and up front.
- 9:37Speaker 8: Mason Marshman back in he sat out Thursday in Edmonton.
- 9:41Speaker 8: Yonnie Newman takes a seat and which now gives a
- 9:43Speaker 8: crack in a new look here for their bottom nine
- 9:46Speaker 8: left to right, Ellie Tolvenen, Chandler Stevenson Coppocaco. Then you
- 9:49Speaker 8: have Mason Marshman, Freddie Gudreau, Berkeley Catton as well. He'll
- 9:52Speaker 8: play on the off wing, and Ty Cartier with Shane
- 9:56Speaker 8: Wright and Ryan Winner. Ten second story line is Joey
- 10:00Speaker 8: the court. He'll be back in nets and seeking redemption
- 10:03Speaker 8: also to end a personal four game winless skit, his
- 10:06Speaker 8: last win coming against Chicago on the twentieth of November.
- 10:10Speaker 8: He had twenty two saves that evening, and against Detroit
- 10:13Speaker 8: he has won one in two in five games. Our
- 10:16Speaker 8: third story line, can home cooking help the Kraken out
- 10:19Speaker 8: this evening? They'll open up here with three games straight
- 10:23Speaker 8: at home. They're trying to get back to the basics
- 10:25Speaker 8: here as far as defense goals allowed, so far thirty
- 10:29Speaker 8: that's still fourth best in the entire league. All six
- 10:32Speaker 8: wins at home, they have allowed only three goals or
- 10:34Speaker 8: less in each of those wins, and plus the krack
- 10:37Speaker 8: in here also aiming for their first home wins since
- 10:40Speaker 8: the fifteenth of November. Shots allowed by the way no
- 10:43Speaker 8: more than twenty six they've allowed here in five of
- 10:47Speaker 8: the last six home games. So they're trying to again
- 10:49Speaker 8: get back to those fundamentals which have certainly proven to
- 10:52Speaker 8: be successful on their side. Let's hear more from the
- 10:55Speaker 8: Kraken and they said a new high for shot at
- 10:57Speaker 8: Temps this season on Thursday in that nine to four loss.
- 11:01Speaker 8: Matter of fact, it was seventy four in total against Edmonton,
- 11:04Speaker 8: and Everly said, it's got a lot to do with
- 11:06Speaker 8: fine tuning details moving forward and not moving away from
- 11:10Speaker 8: defensive fundamentals.
- 11:11Speaker 11: We created offensively, we were sharp with the puck, made
- 11:14Speaker 11: some plays, you know, created, but obviously you give up nine,
- 11:17Speaker 11: you're not gonna win in any league. So, you know,
- 11:20Speaker 11: I think it's a matter of finding, you know, the
- 11:22Speaker 11: detailed part of the game and trying to correct that stuff,
- 11:24Speaker 11: which we've been good at. That's kind of been the
- 11:25Speaker 11: bread and butter details defensive and trying to find offense
- 11:29Speaker 11: out of that. So, you know, like I said, this league,
- 11:33Speaker 11: it's nice you get a good chance for a couple
- 11:34Speaker 11: of days later to you know, kick going again.
- 11:37Speaker 8: Josh Bahur has been trying to stay sharp in his
- 11:39Speaker 8: most recent strateg sitting out, but he's back in now
- 11:42Speaker 8: and he said, the Kraken, you know who they're dealing with,
- 11:45Speaker 8: beginning with a threatening reputation on the Red Wings side, Yeah.
- 11:49Speaker 4: They got a lot of skill.
- 11:51Speaker 11: You know, a lot of guys I like to hold
- 11:52Speaker 11: on to the puck and make plays, and they've been
- 11:55Speaker 11: doing it for.
- 11:55Speaker 6: A long time.
- 11:56Speaker 11: So I think just trying to limit their time and space,
- 11:59Speaker 11: you know, use use our identity the best of our ability,
- 12:02Speaker 11: break bucks out and just try to play an there.
- 12:05Speaker 8: On the injury updates side, Matt Murray again still out
- 12:08Speaker 8: six week period. He's nursing a lower body ailment, and
- 12:11Speaker 8: Jayden Schwartz, also al for a six week strategy, is
- 12:15Speaker 8: right now nursing a lower body injury as well. We'll
- 12:18Speaker 8: come back after this and take a look at Detroit.

- 14:46Speaker 8: Light Jews Chill Mike Betton with you in time Now
- 14:49Speaker 8: for a look at the Red Wings rolling in for
- 14:52Speaker 8: their only visit this season to Climbate Pledge Arena. This
- 14:56Speaker 8: game their second one of a lengthy trip after this
- 14:59Speaker 8: or end of Van Hoover, Calgary, Edmonton and Chicago, finishing
- 15:03Speaker 8: a pack stretch of six games in nine days. It
- 15:06Speaker 8: will certainly test their strength in this recent stretch because
- 15:10Speaker 8: they've been treading water as far as the numbers, and
- 15:12Speaker 8: they come then two points out of a playoff spot
- 15:14Speaker 8: in the Eastern Conference. In the last game, needless to say,
- 15:17Speaker 8: a bumpy ride, six to five loss in a shootout
- 15:20Speaker 8: at Columbus, which had plenty of twists and turns. The
- 15:23Speaker 8: Red Wings down four to three after two periods, scored
- 15:25Speaker 8: twice in a span of two to h three in
- 15:28Speaker 8: the third for a five to four lead, only to
- 15:30Speaker 8: cough it up with one thirty one left on a
- 15:33Speaker 8: goal by Adam fan Tilly, his second of the night,
- 15:35Speaker 8: and the Blue Jackets eventually won it with a pair
- 15:38Speaker 8: of goals in the shootout stages. Given the Red Wings
- 15:41Speaker 8: here a dry spell of just one win in their
- 15:43Speaker 8: previous six games. They have allowed twenty nine goals in
- 15:47Speaker 8: that span and the penalty kill allowing goals in four
- 15:50Speaker 8: of the last six games. They are still get loaded
- 15:53Speaker 8: with skill as they're trying to end for this season
- 15:56Speaker 8: a nine season stretch of a playoff drought. Dylan Larkin,
- 16:00Speaker 8: Lucas Raymond, Alex dabrinkt a big part of that emerging corps.
- 16:03Speaker 8: They have scored a combined thirty nine goals this season,
- 16:06Speaker 8: but that trio has accounted for forty four percent of
- 16:09Speaker 8: their offense. So, in other words, their top heavy and
- 16:12Speaker 8: the big question here is can they get more secondary scoring.
- 16:14Speaker 8: You look at the numbers concerning for them. Andrew Copp
- 16:18Speaker 8: won goal twenty nine games. JT Komfor four goals twenty
- 16:21Speaker 8: eight games, Marco Casper three goals in twenty eight games.
- 16:25Speaker 8: So the Kraken trying to keep Detroit at bay all
- 16:29Speaker 8: across the board as they're still trying to figure matters
- 16:31Speaker 8: out on their offensively behind their top stars. The Detroit
- 16:35Speaker 8: story lines first top begin with a couple of streaks,
- 16:38Speaker 8: the crack and want to slow down This evening, Dylan
- 16:40Speaker 8: Larkins got a six game point streak seven points in
- 16:43Speaker 8: that total, Lucas Raymond seven game point streak nine points
- 16:47Speaker 8: in that total. Both have thirty one points tie for
- 16:50Speaker 8: the Red Wings lead in scoring. Second storyline goaltending issuees
- 16:54Speaker 8: The Red Wings team save percentage eight seven to one
- 16:57Speaker 8: then is third lowest in the NHL. Only Ottawa and
- 17:01Speaker 8: Edmonton are worst. John Gibson gets to start a net
- 17:04Speaker 8: here for Detroit the Savening in eight six eight say
- 17:07Speaker 8: percentage in fourteen games, he has allowed four goals are
- 17:11Speaker 8: more in four consecutive games. Let's hear more for the
- 17:14Speaker 8: Red and Wings and head coach Tom mclelan said, this
- 17:16Speaker 8: team's got to be very aware of how the Kraken
- 17:19Speaker 8: could come out swinging after Thursday night.
- 17:22Speaker 14: For US number one, it starts going to be real important.
- 17:24Speaker 14: They're obviously not overly happy with with some of the
- 17:28Speaker 14: results probably over the last little bit. Therefore, we better
- 17:32Speaker 14: be ready to play. And they're a real strong checking team.
- 17:35Speaker 14: They understand their number. I've talked about each team has
- 17:38Speaker 14: a number. They understand what their number is and what
- 17:40Speaker 14: they need to do to keep it at that. They're
- 17:42Speaker 14: committed to it. They've can get some a good goaltending,
- 17:46Speaker 14: so I don't expect the game to play out any
- 17:49Speaker 14: different than what it did in Detroit. Type checking, type
- 17:52Speaker 14: game beginning to ten.

- 20:15Speaker 3: homestand tonight against Detroit, Monday against the Minnesota Wild, the
- 20:19Speaker 3: wrap up Wednesday against their division rival in the La
- 20:22Speaker 3: Kings al The Kraken trying to rebound from a nine
- 20:26Speaker 3: to four loss to the Oilers two nights to go
- 20:29Speaker 3: back to back losses to Edmonton, Edmonton outscoring Seattle thirteen
- 20:33Speaker 3: to eight in their last couple of games of the
- 20:36Speaker 3: last two games for Seattle needing a big turnaround here.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Tonight against another struggling team in Detroit. How can they
- 20:43Speaker 1: get that done? Well?
- 20:44Speaker 4: The first one is going to tie right back to
- 20:45Speaker 4: that game. Then to lock down the defensive zone. The
- 20:48Speaker 4: Red Wings thrive when they get extended zone times. The
- 20:51Speaker 4: Kraken need to keep their defensive structure tighter than a
- 20:53Speaker 4: jar of pickles with a locked on lid. Quick exits,
- 20:56Speaker 4: smart sticks and winning the down little battles will keep
- 20:59Speaker 4: Detroit chasing instead of creating. Secondly, cycle Detroit from confusion
- 21:04Speaker 4: or excuse me, cycle Detroit into confusion.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Seattles.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Forwards need to get the pucked down and grind away,
- 21:10Speaker 4: forcing Detroit's defense to spend long shifts, turning, switching and
- 21:13Speaker 4: second guests and everything they worked on in their morning skate. Today,
- 21:17Speaker 4: a heavy four check can turn their blue line into
- 21:19Speaker 4: a group project no one wants to lead. And then
- 21:22Speaker 4: third shoot relentlessly and hunt down rebounds. Detroit's goalie can
- 21:27Speaker 4: be rattled with volumes, so the Kraken should fire early
- 21:30Speaker 4: and often, then crash the net like it's Black Friday
- 21:33Speaker 4: and the last Labuba was up for grabs. Greasy goals
- 21:36Speaker 4: count the same as highlight reel ones, even sometimes even
- 21:39Speaker 4: more in essence. Defend the defend like the mustache you
- 21:44Speaker 4: swore was for the boys. Depends on it a four
- 21:48Speaker 4: check until Detroit asks for running time and turn every
- 21:51Speaker 4: loose puck into a goal scoring opportunity. If the Kraken
- 21:55Speaker 4: can execute these keys, the Red Wings will feel like
- 21:57Speaker 4: they're trying to escape a maze where every round, every
- 22:00Speaker 4: quarter leads to another shot on goal. Seattle can control
- 22:03Speaker 4: their structure, own the grind, and feast on the chaos.
- 22:06Speaker 4: They'll leave Detroit wishing turbulence was their biggest problem tonight.
- 22:10Speaker 3: You know it's funny how we look at the standings
- 22:12Speaker 3: for the Seattle Cracking right now, and there's still two
- 22:14Speaker 3: points out of a playoff spot. That is how tight
- 22:17Speaker 3: this is. The Cracking are zero three to one in
- 22:19Speaker 3: their last four games. They've not been playing their best
- 22:23Speaker 3: hockey here as of late. And honesty, you can really
- 22:25Speaker 3: take away with the Islander game that was a shutout,
- 22:27Speaker 3: a one nothing loss, and a shootout. But still for
- 22:30Speaker 3: the Kracking, you get the win tonight, two more points,
- 22:33Speaker 3: you're back in the first wildcard.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Depending on what happens and the rest of the games.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Here tonight, Seattle still finds themselves in a really good spot.
- 22:40Speaker 3: But I mean, how much more of a must win
- 22:44Speaker 3: quote unquote do you put on this game here tonight?
- 22:47Speaker 4: Well, I think every team goes through these these these
- 22:50Speaker 4: periods of time. We've heard Lane Lambert talk about there's
- 22:52Speaker 4: a couple of stinker games every year. There's also probably
- 22:56Speaker 4: a couple of stinker slides, if you will, where it's
- 22:58Speaker 4: multiple losses in a row. You just want to shorten
- 23:01Speaker 4: them as much as you can. And the quicker you
- 23:03Speaker 4: shorten them, the less damage it does to where you
- 23:05Speaker 4: are at. The Cracking have had a best starting franchise history.
- 23:08Speaker 4: It's hurting them a little bit to lose these four
- 23:10Speaker 4: in a row. They got to get back on the
- 23:12Speaker 4: winning train, get back on the playoff hunt, and we'll
- 23:14Speaker 4: forget about this four or four game loss, you know,
- 23:17Speaker 4: after Christmas.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Right now, Mason marsh been back in the lineup after
- 23:20Speaker 3: missing Thursday and Edmonton Josh Mhura returning to the lineup
- 23:23Speaker 3: here as well with Murhurry, you get a little bit
- 23:25Speaker 3: more grit, some toughness in that lineup.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Jamie Alexia the odd man.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Out, wouldn't read too much into that, but you and
- 23:30Speaker 3: I were talking about how when you have games like that,
- 23:33Speaker 3: there is always a change that needs to be made,
- 23:36Speaker 3: and someone is gonna always have to bear that responsibility.
- 23:40Speaker 1: It's not on him, but just you need to find
- 23:42Speaker 1: a way to get something going. Yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 4: I mean, you could be in a game and you
- 23:45Speaker 4: have four or five goals scored on you, even if
- 23:47Speaker 4: they're good goals, the goals that goaltenders don't can't save.
- 23:52Speaker 4: You're probably gonna change your goaltender. Why because you need
- 23:55Speaker 4: to get something going neat little bit of a change.
- 23:56Speaker 4: It's the same when you have a bad game like that,
- 23:58Speaker 4: you make a change. It sends them message to the
- 24:00Speaker 4: guys of Hey, we got to turn this around. We're
- 24:02Speaker 4: we're going to make this change. From a coaching standpoint,
- 24:05Speaker 4: let's go see you do it.

- 26:51Speaker 8: go with head coach Lane Lambert standing by with ever
- 26:53Speaker 8: it fits.
- 26:54Speaker 3: You, Thanks Mike Lane. Obviously not the result that you
- 26:57Speaker 3: wanted in Edmonton two nights ago. I mean, where do
- 27:00Speaker 3: you begin to break this one down? We've talked before.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Is this a thing you chalk up to, Hey, these
- 27:06Speaker 3: things happened, or was there just something more fundamental about
- 27:09Speaker 3: that game that you want to address.
- 27:12Speaker 20: I mean, you look at the fundamental side of it,
- 27:15Speaker 20: and you know the breakdowns that we had, the things
- 27:17Speaker 20: that we did, you know, so you know, you go
- 27:21Speaker 20: over those things. And certainly when the when the ball started,
- 27:25Speaker 20: you know, snowing the wrong way, it snowballed, and you know,
- 27:30Speaker 20: we just one of those nights where we couldn't keep
- 27:33Speaker 20: it out of our nat or penalty kill their power play.
- 27:36Speaker 20: You know it was good, and you know, it's just
- 27:40Speaker 20: one of those games where I just thought that everything
- 27:42Speaker 20: that you know could go wrong kind of did go wrong,
- 27:45Speaker 20: but we were the result of having them go wrong.
- 27:48Speaker 3: Jordan Ebi this morning said that offensively, it was one
- 27:50Speaker 3: of the better games you guys played. You had your chances,
- 27:52Speaker 3: but anytime you give up nine, you're not going to
- 27:55Speaker 3: win those games. I guess on a positive note, what
- 27:58Speaker 3: did you make of the offensive opportunities that you guys had.
- 28:01Speaker 20: Well, yeah, I said that after the game, even you know,
- 28:04Speaker 20: we did a lot of good things offensively. We shot
- 28:08Speaker 20: volume was there. We need to continue with that. We
- 28:11Speaker 20: had a number of good scoring chances and we did
- 28:14Speaker 20: a lot of good things. So if we look at
- 28:18Speaker 20: it from that standpoint, and some of the things that
- 28:20Speaker 20: we've been talking about offensively, you know, they're they're starting
- 28:24Speaker 20: to do a better job of building those into our game.
- 28:28Speaker 20: We need to continue going that way. Take that positive
- 28:30Speaker 20: out of that game, but we need to be better defensively.
- 28:33Speaker 3: The guys had a day off yesterday. You've had some
- 28:34Speaker 3: time to reset and maybe stew or or put it
- 28:39Speaker 3: out of your mind from that game a couple of
- 28:41Speaker 3: nights ago. What's been the message to your team this
- 28:44Speaker 3: morning leading into the contest.
- 28:46Speaker 20: Well, it's a you know, to your point, you know,
- 28:49Speaker 20: you have your choice. You can come in and you know,
- 28:52Speaker 20: grind it out yesterday, or you can reset and get
- 28:56Speaker 20: ready to play tonight. And you know there's for me,
- 29:01Speaker 20: it was no lack of effort in Edmonton. I thought
- 29:04Speaker 20: we worked it just everything kind of that could go
- 29:08Speaker 20: wrong did go wrong. You know, we made some mental
- 29:11Speaker 20: errors as well. We can't give up breakaways like we
- 29:13Speaker 20: did and all that stuff. So you know, for me,
- 29:16Speaker 20: the message is to reset. I do think there's areas,
- 29:19Speaker 20: you know, in our identity that we didn't look very
- 29:22Speaker 20: good in in Edmonton, really in both the games against Edmonton.
- 29:27Speaker 20: So get back to that, understand who we are, how
- 29:29Speaker 20: we need to play in order to win games and
- 29:31Speaker 20: tighten things up.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Based online rushes this morning, it looks like a couple
- 29:35Speaker 3: of pieces have been moved around the lineup.
- 29:37Speaker 6: At least early on.
- 29:37Speaker 3: It looks like you're going to give Alexiak the night
- 29:40Speaker 3: off and bring Josh Bahura back in. What do you
- 29:42Speaker 3: like about this grouping here tonight against the Red Wings?
- 29:46Speaker 20: Well, I think that you know, we're trying to create
- 29:49Speaker 20: a little bit more balance from a defensive standpoint, and
- 29:54Speaker 20: you know, if if you look at at our team
- 29:57Speaker 20: and you know how we match up, it's important to
- 30:01Speaker 20: you know, to do that. And certainly you know on
- 30:04Speaker 20: the on the defense side.
- 30:07Speaker 8: That's Lane Lambert. Your lineups are coming up next. Your
