- 2:57Regional Animal Control stated on Facebook, While
- 3:00we do not feel there is a need to panic, please
- 3:03be cautious when allowing pets outside. Animals
- 3:06displaying these symptoms, such as pawing over,
- 3:09stumbling, and showing seizure -like behavior,
- 3:12have been primarily spotted in downtown Athol
- 3:15and the Pendale and Pequig neighborhoods. The
- 3:18department has contacted several state agencies
- 3:21to investigate this illness. and recommends that
- 3:25pet owners ensure their pets are current on their
- 3:28rabies and distemper vaccinations. Anyone observing
- 3:32wildlife with unusual behavior is urged to contact
- 3:35the Athol Police Non -Emergency Line at 978 -249
- 3:41-3232. Now on to sports. Georgia Tech is just
- 3:52one win away from its first Super Regional in
- 3:55two decades. The Yellow Jackets have shown dominance
- 3:58in the Atlanta Regional during this tournament.
- 4:01Now the Oklahoma Sooners stand in their way for
- 4:04a final test in this historic season. In the
- 4:08box score for Georgia Tech, Burris has one hit
- 4:11and two runs batted in, while Zuckerman also
- 4:14has two runs batted in. For Oklahoma, Lechance
- 4:18leads with one hit and four runs batted in, followed
- 4:22by Brock with three runs batted in. This matchup
- 4:26promises to be an exciting battle. In local sports,
- 4:30the Red Sox are back on track after taking the
- 4:33series in Cleveland yesterday 9 -4. Ranger Suarez
- 4:39was short for five innings, striking out 10,
- 4:42while the bullpen held firm. Jaron Duran went

- 5:19recovery. Soreness in his throwing program forced
- 5:22the team to cancel live hitters yesterday, pushing
- 5:25his return to mid -July at the earliest. The
- 5:29ace was already behind schedule and now faces
- 5:32at least two more minor league rehab starts once
- 5:35he resumes throwing. Meanwhile, Joe Mazzulla
- 5:38has been named NBA Coach of the Year. The Celtics
- 5:42coach led Boston to 56 and the two seed, despite
- 5:47Jason Tatum, missing most of the season with
- 5:50an Achilles injury. At 37, Mazula is the youngest
- 5:55to win since 1975. He actually said the award
- 6:00was stupid back in March, but here we are. On
- 6:04the gridiron, the Patriots and Eagles are working
- 6:07the phones. A .G. Brown could be headed to New
- 6:11England, if both sides agree on compensation.
- 6:14The June 1st deadline is today, and a framework
- 6:17is reportedly in place for a trade that would
- 6:20pair the receiver with MVP runner -up Drake May.
- 6:25In top news, New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani
- 6:30did not attend an annual parade honoring Israel
- 6:33on Sunday, breaking with a decade's long political
- 6:36custom because of his support for Palestinian
- 6:39rights. Though the parade has gone by different
- 6:42names, it has always been a must -attend event
- 6:45for political leaders eager to win over flag
- 6:48-waving revelers. Two weeks ago, the mayor's
- 6:51office released a video commemorating the Napa,
- 6:54describing the displacement of an estimated 700
- 6:57,000 Palestinians during the 1948 Arab -Israeli
- 7:02war. Mamdani stated, I said on the campaign trail
- 7:06that I wouldn't be attending the parade. and
- 7:08I've made my views on the Israeli government
- 7:10abundantly clear. The mayor's absence has fueled
- 7:14criticism from those who view his stance as anti
- 7:17-Semitic. In business news, Berkshire Hathaway
- 7:22agreed Sunday to acquire homebuilder Taylor Morrison
- 7:25Home in a $6 .8 billion deal, deepening the conglomerate's
- 7:31bet on the United States housing market after
- 7:34a prolonged downturn. The Omaha, Nebraska -based
- 7:37company will pay $72 per share in cash for Taylor
- 7:41Morrison, representing a 24 % premium to the
- 7:46home builder's closing price on May 29th. This
- 7:50acquisition, expected to close in the second
- 7:52half of 2026, marks one of the first major strategic
- 7:57deals under Warren Buffett's successor, Greg
- 7:59Abel. Berkshire is acquiring a best -in -class
- 8:03national home builder. which suggests positioning
- 8:06for a recovery in housing demand despite elevated
- 8:09mortgage rates. In crypto movement, Bitcoin is
- 8:14up 1 % over the weekend to just under $74 ,000.
- 8:19Ethereum is up 1 % to $2 ,000. And XRP is up

- 9:17Let's talk science. June welcomes summer, bringing
- 9:21long, sweltering days and brief nights, perfect
- 9:25for stargazing. This month highlights a conjunction
- 9:28of Jupiter and Venus. along with the summer solstice
- 9:31and the full strawberry moon. On June 9, Jupiter
- 9:36and Venus will be at their closest, visible above
- 9:39the northwestern horizon just after sunset. June
- 9:4321 marks the summer solstice, the longest day
- 9:46of the year, resulting from Earth's tilted orbital
- 9:49axis. Finally, the full strawberry moon will
- 9:53rise on June 29, named by various Native American
- 9:56nations. June 30th celebrates Asteroid Day, reminding
- 10:01us of the significant impact Earth has avoided
- 10:04for over a century. And in entertainment news,
- 10:11Hulu's 83 % Rotten Tomatoes sci -fi series is
- 10:16dominating Netflix charts globally, just days
- 10:19after arriving on the streaming giant, and its
- 10:21momentum shows no signs of slowing down. Its
- 10:25spinoff, which recently ended its first season
- 10:28with a game -changing finale, has partly contributed
- 10:31to the renewed success, alongside the show's
- 10:34consistently powerful episodes. The Handmaid's
- 10:38Tale, created by Bruce Miller, was the first
- 10:40streaming series ever to win the Emmy for Outstanding
- 10:43Drama Series. Set in a dystopian society, Julia
- 10:47treats women as state property, forcing fertile
- 10:51women into childbearing servitude. The series
- 10:55has surged on Netflix, ranking among the top
- 10:5810 most watched shows in various international
- 11:00territories. Well, alrighty folks, it's time
- 11:05for the quote of the day. And today, our quote
- 11:09comes from the American comic book writer and
- 11:12editor, Stan Lee. And he said, With great power,
- 11:17there must also come great responsibility, reminding
- 11:20us that those who possess strength or influence
- 11:23must use it wisely and for the greater good.
- 11:27And that's a wrap for this morning. You can check
- 11:31out our Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok for some
- 11:34captivating aerial videos with local news and
- 11:38the weather reports. Have an amazing day, my

- 11:44episode of Sunny Mornings in Boston.
