- 0:00Speaker 1: It's a movie that's PG.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It's the idea of this is, you know, I want
- 0:05Speaker 2: you to go take your whole family out to go
- 0:07Speaker 2: to it. Take your mom, take your grandma. Like, you know,
- 0:13Speaker 2: I just love that. I love that when people can
- 0:18Speaker 2: go out and they can all go together. I want
- 0:21Speaker 2: to go to stuff with my family. Like, you know,
- 0:23Speaker 2: you want to go. And then so you go look
- 0:25Speaker 2: at a lot of movies now. It's like a lot
- 0:27Speaker 2: of horror movies.
- 0:29Speaker 1: It's horror.
- 0:29Speaker 2: It's a big, or it's like a Marvel movie or something,
- 0:32Speaker 2: or it's, or it's animated. Like there's no live action
- 0:35Speaker 2: movies like this. I think that are being made that
- 0:37Speaker 2: are PG. And it's kind of the direction that I
- 0:40Speaker 2: wanted to head in.
- 0:43Speaker 3: It's been a lot of your direction. It feels like,
- 0:44Speaker 3: why is that? Like overall, like I get it a
- 0:46Speaker 3: hundred percent, right?
- 0:47Speaker 1: Like I get it.
- 0:48Speaker 3: And it's been so successful for you, right? Like, um,
- 0:50Speaker 3: I think we're like the top touring comedian last year,
- 0:53Speaker 3: maybe I think. And I don't mean to get that wrong,
- 0:55Speaker 3: you know, but, um, you know, you attract like, you know,
- 0:59Speaker 3: you can attract all ages, right? Your comedy's kind of
- 1:02Speaker 3: for everyone. It's for kids too, even. I don't write
- 1:04Speaker 3: it for kids, but kids can come. The point is
- 1:06Speaker 3: like your kids don't have to leave the room.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Got it.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Like, so if it's on, like, but it's when there's
- 1:12Speaker 2: tons of kids at my show, uh, not tons. But
- 1:16Speaker 2: there's kids at the show. Right.
- 1:17Speaker 1: And you see them.
- 1:18Speaker 2: But I watch them and I can tell, like, they're not,
- 1:20Speaker 2: you know, they don't, like, a kid's not going to lie.
- 1:23Speaker 2: They don't get everything. They don't get. Yeah, they like
- 1:26Speaker 2: some of the dumb, silly jokes. But if I'm talking about, like,
- 1:28Speaker 2: marriage and stuff like that, they're not going to be
- 1:30Speaker 2: laughing at that. But I know when they get in
- 1:33Speaker 2: the car, they're going to just talk about the whole night. Right.
- 1:37Speaker 2: And we, I hear that from parents. Like, they're just like, oh,
- 1:40Speaker 2: they just kept. But, you know, a kid doesn't know
- 1:42Speaker 2: how to, it just kind of sits there and stares.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:45Speaker 2: But then afterwards, they just are excited. They haven't been
- 1:47Speaker 2: to an adult event. And so this feels very adult,
- 1:50Speaker 2: like you're watching. Because it is. You're making it for,
- 1:53Speaker 2: you know, my stuff is not. I'm not trying to
- 1:56Speaker 2: make it like, yeah, like it's just kid friendly. Like
- 2:00Speaker 2: a kid can come in. You're just not cursing. You
- 2:02Speaker 2: can get away with a lot more when you don't curse.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Cursing is just kind of like that's just what I've found.
- 2:08Speaker 1: But it's just the way I was. What do you
- 2:09Speaker 1: mean by that? You can get away with a lot more.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I think you can say a lot of things and
- 2:12Speaker 2: talk about a lot of stuff. And I think if
- 2:16Speaker 2: you don't curse.
- 2:18Speaker 1: It's... I need to hear this.
- 2:20Speaker 2: It's like the cursing is what I think, like it's just,
- 2:27Speaker 2: that's what people hear that either they check out or
- 2:30Speaker 2: they're like, he's dirty or he's this or he's that.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And so if you're in control of it, just be
- 2:35Speaker 2: in control of it. Maybe it's not saying you don't
- 2:38Speaker 2: have to curse, but it's where is it and when
- 2:41Speaker 2: is it? Yeah. Where it's a lot of, I think,
- 2:45Speaker 2: the younger comedians now, it's, you know, they start on
- 2:49Speaker 2: the Internet, then they go to Netflix. Like, no one's, like,
- 2:53Speaker 2: there's no boundaries. Like, we came, we did Live at Gotham,
- 2:58Speaker 2: I think, the same year, right around. And when you
- 3:01Speaker 2: did that on Comedy Central, you couldn't say whatever you
- 3:03Speaker 2: wanted to say. That's not a bad thing. That means
- 3:07Speaker 2: you have to be creative in a scenario. Not saying don't.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You can come on anything else and go say whatever
- 3:13Speaker 2: you want to go say.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 3:14Speaker 2: But it's not a bad thing to have some TV
- 3:19Speaker 2: boundaries around you.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Because then it makes you come at stuff in
- 3:23Speaker 1: different angles. Oh, yeah. I mean, I almost fantasize sometimes.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Not fantasize. That's probably the weirdest word.
- 3:29Speaker 3: But I think about that of like, yeah, I would
- 3:32Speaker 3: like to get to a place where I don't have to,
- 3:34Speaker 3: you know?
- 3:34Speaker 1: Or not, because I don't have to curse. Yeah, but
- 3:37Speaker 1: I don't think you.
- 3:37Speaker 3: But it's just where I don't want to curse.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I think I do it. I don't even know why
- 3:41Speaker 3: I do it. I think it's kind of how I
- 3:42Speaker 3: operate in a regular day, too.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So in the end, I think it's
- 3:45Speaker 2: probably just... I don't think of you as... someone that
- 3:48Speaker 2: would be dirty.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I'm not vulgar no right like i'm not like sexually
- 3:53Speaker 3: explicit or like talking about something that i think is
- 3:55Speaker 3: gross but i'll use some profanity you know yeah and
- 4:00Speaker 3: stuff like that i think but as an adult and
- 4:02Speaker 3: i don't have a family or anything yet i don't
- 4:04Speaker 3: have anybody looking at me across the room saying why
- 4:06Speaker 3: are you saying that in front of the kids dude
- 4:08Speaker 3: you know what i'm saying Because I work for myself
- 4:10Speaker 3: and I'm a shitty employee. I'm out back smoking and
- 4:13Speaker 3: catching myself. I'll sneak around the corner, smoke, and then
- 4:16Speaker 3: run around the corner and be like, what.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Are you doing out here? The deep fryer is freaking
- 4:20Speaker 1: acting up.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Do whatever you want to go do. By the way,
- 4:25Speaker 2: I don't think anybody thinks of you as a dirty college.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks. Like, I don't think, you know. And curse.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Do whatever you want.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Do whatever you want. But it is a challenge. I agree.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I love the fact that it's a challenge to yourself.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Is there a day, would you ever, like, say, well,
- 4:41Speaker 3: one day I'm going to put out, there's going to be, like,
- 4:43Speaker 3: a dark folder I'm going to put out of just
- 4:45Speaker 3: the other side of things. Have you ever had, like,
- 4:48Speaker 3: have you ever wanted to have, like, an OnlyFans where
- 4:50Speaker 3: you just say, like, some bad words on it?
- 4:53Speaker 2: Uh, no, I just don't think, uh, uh, I think
- 4:57Speaker 2: I've just passed the point of where I would, I,
- 5:00Speaker 2: you know, look, I like whatever.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Was it always like that?
- 5:04Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I, we, we grew up when
- 5:06Speaker 2: I grew up, it was like cursing was, you know,
- 5:08Speaker 2: my parents were, uh, became Christian when I was born.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And when I have a joke about it, they were
- 5:14Speaker 2: the most Christian. And so like, you know, growing up here,
- 5:16Speaker 2: Southern Baptist, it's very strict rules. Like it's, it's, uh,
- 5:20Speaker 2: You know, I think church is completely different now. Like,
- 5:23Speaker 2: a lot of it's non-denomination and all that. But then
- 5:27Speaker 2: it was like, yeah, you did it. No one, I mean,
- 5:31Speaker 2: cursing was looked at. And no one in my family,
- 5:35Speaker 2: my parents did not curse. So I wasn't around.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's awesome, dude.
- 5:41Speaker 2: So I have a, not that I'm not perfect, but
- 5:44Speaker 2: my strictness in my act is just was like, I
- 5:48Speaker 2: was just never going to do it. And then when
- 5:50Speaker 2: I started that way, it's like, it would be weird
- 5:53Speaker 2: to go back.
- 5:55Speaker 3: And does it feel like I'm ostracizing you for not
- 5:56Speaker 3: doing it? It doesn't feel like that, does it?
- 5:58Speaker 2: No.
- 5:58Speaker 3: No, I think some people, I don't feel like you do.
- 6:01Speaker 3: But it doesn't feel like I'm ostracizing, like I'm envious
- 6:04Speaker 3: of it.
- 6:05Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no.
- 6:06Speaker 3: And I think it just like, yeah, it makes it
- 6:09Speaker 3: so it's ready for everybody, right? Like this is something
- 6:11Speaker 3: that you can, and a parent knows at some point
- 6:13Speaker 3: I can turn that on. This is the thing that
- 6:15Speaker 3: does get me sometimes. If a parent's with their kids,
- 6:18Speaker 3: like I don't know if I can turn these podcasts on.
- 6:20Speaker 3: because it's going to have profanity in it or they
- 6:23Speaker 3: might be talking about some stuff that's going to be
- 6:24Speaker 3: a bit obtuse for kids.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Well, I think about that sometimes with serious radio where
- 6:28Speaker 2: it's like you, you know, or you get into some
- 6:32Speaker 2: stuff about sports or you want to listen to some
- 6:34Speaker 2: sports stuff and then it's like someone gets, they're cursing
- 6:38Speaker 2: and you're like, I'm just trying to like hear the
- 6:40Speaker 2: score of the game. UFC had like, you know, we're
- 6:44Speaker 2: both giant UFC fans and the pay-per-view events I'm fine
- 6:49Speaker 2: with But like sometimes even if you have to listen
- 6:51Speaker 2: to something about UFC, it can get like they can
- 6:55Speaker 2: get cursing and all this stuff. And like not to,
- 6:58Speaker 2: sometimes you're like, I just wouldn't mind. Like if my
- 7:01Speaker 2: daughter's in the car not really paying attention and I
- 7:03Speaker 2: would like to just hear some UFC stuff. Can we
- 7:08Speaker 2: have a channel where it's like, I just know you're
- 7:11Speaker 2: not going to go nuts.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Like, you know what I mean?
- 7:15Speaker 3: Yeah, because the only time she's going to look up, too,
- 7:17Speaker 3: is if she hears a bad word, she's going to
- 7:18Speaker 3: look up and she's going to look at you like, Dad,
- 7:20Speaker 3: what are you listening to.
- 7:21Speaker 1: This kind of stuff?
- 7:22Speaker 2: And you're like, I know. I'm just trying to listen to. Like,
- 7:25Speaker 2: you just want it to be like local radio. You're like,
- 7:27Speaker 2: I'm just a Gaethje fan.
- 7:29Speaker 1: What do you know? Give me a chance here, you know?
- 7:33Speaker 2: Look, Colby Covington, it's hard to keep him quiet. He's
- 7:37Speaker 2: just the worst. You can't listen to him. I mean,
- 7:39Speaker 2: I have nothing against Colby. I don't know.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Zamfie says all the craziest things.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Well, a lot of those guys have to be their
- 7:45Speaker 3: own advertiser. When you think about some of those guys,
- 7:47Speaker 3: it's interesting because they just wanted to fight, but then
- 7:49Speaker 3: they have to, some of them have to probably feel
- 7:51Speaker 3: a pressure to become this other thing because you have
- 7:53Speaker 3: to be their own PR company in a way.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And look, I don't feel bad. It's not the fighters.
- 7:57Speaker 1: It's like just you wish. Oh, the commentators. Yeah, they're
- 8:00Speaker 1: talking about, you're right.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I mean, they do a good job, though, on UFC. Like,
- 8:03Speaker 2: I don't, like, when Rogan and all of them, like,
- 8:06Speaker 2: they don't curse. Oh, they're pretty clean on there. Yeah,
- 8:08Speaker 2: I don't think they curse at all. Now, when they
- 8:11Speaker 2: go interview him, but that's another thing. That's the fighter.
- 8:14Speaker 1: They're in the moment.
- 8:14Speaker 2: It's going to be hard not to let loose, and
- 8:18Speaker 2: some of that's part of what it is. But I
- 8:21Speaker 2: do think UFC does a great job with, like, when
- 8:23Speaker 2: it's Daniel Cormier and Rogan. Like, they do not curse.
- 8:25Speaker 2: With John Anik, those three are the greatest group that's
- 8:29Speaker 2: ever done it. And they also have Bisping, Paul Felder.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Even when those guys aren't doing it, Poirier's on there now,
- 8:35Speaker 2: Chris Weidman, Cormier. I mean, yeah, but those guys are
- 8:38Speaker 2: all so good.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Poirier's been great.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, he's been great, dude. He's like, yeah, I
- 8:42Speaker 3: just love seeing those guys get to be not just
- 8:45Speaker 3: fighters and get to share their personalities.
