- 0:00Speaker 1: From Houston and across the great state of Texas, this
- 0:04Speaker 1: is KSEV Mornings with Craig Collins.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Anything at all no it's crazy welcome to the thunderdome.
- 0:14Speaker 1: People news opinions politics and the stories that matter to texans.
- 0:20Speaker 3: I shaved for this.
- 0:21Speaker 4: Here are your hosts craig collins and wayne dolcefino.
- 0:25Speaker 5: Remember everyone just don't be yourselves.
- 0:28Speaker 6: I'm ksev am 700 the voice of texas yes that's awesome.
- 0:39Speaker 7: And now, Craig Collins and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Thank you, Dana. This is KSEV Mornings. My name is
- 0:46Speaker 4: Craig Collins. Wayne Dolcefino is on special assignment, as he
- 0:50Speaker 4: often is on this very program. But we're here with
- 0:53Speaker 4: you for the next two hours and thrilled to do it.
- 0:56Speaker 4: You can call in. You can be a part of
- 0:58Speaker 4: the show. I know Wayne and I talked about yesterday
- 1:00Speaker 4: some of my philosophy on phone calls. I don't want
- 1:03Speaker 4: to discourage people. from calling in. KSEV is a call-in
- 1:07Speaker 4: radio station, so I want you guys to call in.
- 1:09Speaker 4: I just have seen a lot of radio data that
- 1:12Speaker 4: says that, you know, over time, if people call in
- 1:15Speaker 4: a lot, sometimes it doesn't really help the ratings out
- 1:18Speaker 4: all that much. But that's not a you problem. That's
- 1:20Speaker 4: a me problem. We'll figure out a way to get
- 1:22Speaker 4: over it. But I just wanted to start off the
- 1:24Speaker 4: show by saying that because I know Wayne had talked
- 1:27Speaker 4: about that and asked about that to me yesterday. And
- 1:29Speaker 4: it's a little different. I will say this. This isn't
- 1:32Speaker 4: a part of all the news I want to talk
- 1:34Speaker 4: about today. but I'll at least throw this out there.
- 1:36Speaker 4: When you got two guys talking to each other in
- 1:38Speaker 4: the studio, there might be less of a focus on
- 1:41Speaker 4: thinking about if a bunch of people are calling in
- 1:44Speaker 4: than when you got just one guy talking into a microphone.
- 1:46Speaker 4: So there's something different too about having a conversation already
- 1:50Speaker 4: and desiring one with an audience. So I'll just say
- 1:54Speaker 4: that in that way. So hopefully people understand it. All right.
- 1:57Speaker 4: There is a Tallarico piece of audio that is very,
- 2:02Speaker 4: very viral. I don't know another way to describe it.
- 2:05Speaker 4: It is him talking about the terribleness in our country,
- 2:09Speaker 4: I guess how we're doomed by climate change and white supremacy, etc., etc.
- 2:14Speaker 4: There are a lot of people who seem to think
- 2:17Speaker 4: that the right approach to this race is not necessarily
- 2:21Speaker 4: just crapping all over everything that Tallarico says. And those
- 2:25Speaker 4: people are wrong. And the reason why they're wrong is
- 2:28Speaker 4: because of the crazy, crazy stuff that continues to come
- 2:31Speaker 4: out of Tallarico's face. And this isn't even like an
- 2:34Speaker 4: old clip, because people can say like, oh, you're using
- 2:37Speaker 4: a clip from 2020. How dare you? He's changed so
- 2:41Speaker 4: much in five years or two years or four years.
- 2:45Speaker 4: However old the clip happens to be, which I do
- 2:48Speaker 4: think is hilarious because, of course, he hasn't changed. Of course,
- 2:50Speaker 4: he's pretending to be more moderate right now to try
- 2:53Speaker 4: to win a race. And then he'll be the crazy
- 2:56Speaker 4: far left Democratic Socialist guy that he is. Without further ado,
- 3:00Speaker 4: here is a clip of James Tallarico saying a lot
- 3:04Speaker 4: of the quiet part out loud. If we actually can
- 3:07Speaker 4: get this to play and it should be playing, it
- 3:09Speaker 4: should all be connected and in. And the 360 is
- 3:12Speaker 4: hopefully on behind me. And let's see. OK, it's on
- 3:15Speaker 4: behind me. All right. So then let me check and
- 3:17Speaker 4: make sure that I have one other thing that I'm
- 3:19Speaker 4: not doing right as far as a sound button that
- 3:22Speaker 4: I have to hit. And then we should be good
- 3:24Speaker 4: to go. It is right here. Just a second stalling.
- 3:28Speaker 4: And then, yeah, I got it. I'm seeing what the
- 3:30Speaker 4: problem is. So now we have the issue solved and
- 3:35Speaker 4: now we'll be able to play the audio. Hopefully. Wait
- 3:38Speaker 4: a minute. Why am I not seeing this as an option?
- 3:39Speaker 4: Up there was I just heard it. Let's try that again.
- 3:44Speaker 4: And then let's actually get this to go. Okay. All right.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Let's try one more time. See if we can get
- 3:48Speaker 4: this to play. If not, we'll probably have to fix
- 3:50Speaker 4: this during a break. All right. We're going to have
- 3:52Speaker 4: to fix it during a break. I know what the
- 3:54Speaker 4: problem is and I know how to fix it, but
- 3:55Speaker 4: that's not a big deal. But anyway, James Tallarico practically
- 3:59Speaker 4: said that, well, basically said, I'm thankful that young activists
- 4:03Speaker 4: have really drawn the link between climate change and white
- 4:06Speaker 4: supremacy and capitalism in this country. And I think only
- 4:10Speaker 4: understanding the ways that all three of those oppressive systems
- 4:14Speaker 4: work together, are we going to be able to begin
- 4:17Speaker 4: the process of dismantling them? That is a direct Tallarico quote,
- 4:22Speaker 4: which again, I'll play for you after the 7.15 break,
- 4:26Speaker 4: so that you can hear it in his own words
- 4:28Speaker 4: and see his face as he's on a conference call
- 4:30Speaker 4: with a bunch of other people saying the thing that
- 4:33Speaker 4: a lot of us are probably terrified that he believes
- 4:36Speaker 4: and thinks. And there's so much of this, honestly. Like,
- 4:41Speaker 4: it's crazy to think that this is the only version
- 4:45Speaker 4: of a quote or a comment that might finally topple
- 4:48Speaker 4: Italo Rico, because it's not new. It's just new in
- 4:53Speaker 4: the sense that he said it yesterday, or he said
- 4:56Speaker 4: it two days ago, and it's gone viral since. This
- 4:58Speaker 4: isn't someone unearthing something that he said during a sermon.
- 5:02Speaker 4: And so the simple question for you today, and I
- 5:04Speaker 4: know a lot of people who listen to the show
- 5:06Speaker 4: and have listened to this station for a long time
- 5:09Speaker 4: and this time slot for a long time are not
- 5:11Speaker 4: necessarily MAGA Republicans. What I mean by that, and I've
- 5:15Speaker 4: noticed with some of the people that call in, I'm
- 5:17Speaker 4: sure there's a lot of supporters of Trump who listen
- 5:20Speaker 4: to KSEV, but there's a lot of supporters of some
- 5:23Speaker 4: other ideal, whether that's America first, regardless of which political
- 5:27Speaker 4: side you're on, the Sal Sato approach to talking about
- 5:30Speaker 4: these things, although Of course, Chris Salcedo predominantly supported Republican
- 5:35Speaker 4: politicians and called out RINOs, which is good. You need
- 5:39Speaker 4: to call out your own side. But then also I've
- 5:42Speaker 4: heard from Democrats who call into the show and give
- 5:44Speaker 4: me whatever opinion they want on a variety of topics.
- 5:48Speaker 4: How is the latest version of the Tallarico clip, the
- 5:52Speaker 4: Tallarico thing that's going viral, which I quoted for you,
- 5:55Speaker 4: and as I said, I'll play in just a little bit.
- 5:58Speaker 4: How is this not? Disqualifying. How is this not something
- 6:01Speaker 4: that convinces people that whoever you think Ken Paxton is,
- 6:05Speaker 4: whatever baggage, whatever problems you believe that he would bring
- 6:08Speaker 4: into a Senate seat, when you compare the two people,
- 6:12Speaker 4: how is one not obviously better than the other? And
- 6:15Speaker 4: to say this the way that Wayne likes to say it,
- 6:18Speaker 4: we have our problems on the Republican side of the aisle,
- 6:21Speaker 4: but we're not crazy. And this is full on crazy.
- 6:24Speaker 4: He actually says, as someone who could be elected to
- 6:28Speaker 4: the Senate, that he would like to dismantle the system
- 6:31Speaker 4: that would actually give him a job. And the only
- 6:34Speaker 4: reason that the DSA people, the crazy ones like Tallarico
- 6:38Speaker 4: or El Said in Michigan, don't say as much as
- 6:42Speaker 4: the DSA members who are helping to decide where the
- 6:46Speaker 4: money goes within that organization right now, the reason the
- 6:49Speaker 4: politicians don't sound exactly the same as the crazy people,
- 6:54Speaker 4: is because they want their job. And the DSA edict
- 6:59Speaker 4: is actually to take away the Senate entirely, is to
- 7:01Speaker 4: get rid of anything they think fails to represent them
- 7:05Speaker 4: or do what they want. They want to upend the
- 7:07Speaker 4: entirety of our system, get rid of capitalism, get rid
- 7:09Speaker 4: of so many different things that are, of course, your
- 7:13Speaker 4: typical day to day life, yours and mine. And the
- 7:16Speaker 4: reality of that idea, you can't just say it and
- 7:20Speaker 4: get political points from young voters that you want to
- 7:23Speaker 4: show up in droves so that you win an election
- 7:25Speaker 4: and then pretend you didn't mean it when you wind
- 7:28Speaker 4: up in a Senate seat. You can't say that capitalism
- 7:30Speaker 4: is bad, white supremacy exists in our country, and then
- 7:34Speaker 4: pretend you didn't actually acknowledge those thoughts along the way
- 7:39Speaker 4: of getting elected. You can't do that. So my fear
- 7:43Speaker 4: and your fear should be that Tallarica will absolutely govern
- 7:47Speaker 4: based on this belief set, based on these ideals and
- 7:51Speaker 4: that he's sharing right now, and the audience that he
- 7:54Speaker 4: thinks he's sharing them with. Here's a good comparison, and
- 7:57Speaker 4: then we'll take a break, Jack, and I'll fix my
- 7:59Speaker 4: audio problem, and you'll hear the audio actually from the
- 8:02Speaker 4: horse's mouth from Tallarico himself. But a good comparison to
- 8:06Speaker 4: what Tallarico is doing right now and what we've seen
- 8:09Speaker 4: fail in other places is like the Bud Light advertising
- 8:12Speaker 4: with the transgender woman, a guy, a dude that pretended
- 8:16Speaker 4: to be a woman. The funny thing about that to
- 8:19Speaker 4: me is, is that the organization, the company, the Bud
- 8:23Speaker 4: Light people, failed completely to understand who their audience was,
- 8:28Speaker 4: who the people were that would consume their product. They
- 8:32Speaker 4: failed to understand why they existed and why they were popular.
- 8:36Speaker 4: It wasn't because they were going to get a bunch
- 8:38Speaker 4: of young people to buy a bunch of Bud Light.
- 8:40Speaker 4: And that was their approach. And some of the Democratic
- 8:43Speaker 4: Socialists of America messaging, especially when spit out by the
- 8:49Speaker 4: Democratic politician is really just designed to get the young
- 8:53Speaker 4: person that thinks everything is unfair to vote for them
- 8:56Speaker 4: because the promise is the government's going to give you
- 8:59Speaker 4: back all the stuff that you don't have, all the
- 9:02Speaker 4: stuff that you feel like you should have that you
- 9:04Speaker 4: haven't worked hard enough to earn. They're going to give
- 9:06Speaker 4: it to you for free. That's all this is. This
- 9:09Speaker 4: is the latest version of Dylan Mulvaney trying to hawk
- 9:13Speaker 4: Bud Light, and this time it's James Tallarica, who actually
- 9:16Speaker 4: believes this stuff, trying to tell you the government's going
- 9:19Speaker 4: to give you everything for free if you elect him,
- 9:23Speaker 4: and we should be terrified of this communist, socialist, Marxist idea.
- 9:28Speaker 4: All right, we'll take a break. We'll come back in
- 9:30Speaker 4: a little bit. We'll fix our audio issues. I know
- 9:32Speaker 4: what plug I need to put in where, and we'll
- 9:34Speaker 4: do a whole lot of other stuff throughout the morning.
- 9:36Speaker 4: This is KSEV Mornings. I'm Craig Collins. Wayne Del Cefino

- 11:10Speaker 10: It's Kathy from Baker Mortgage. You know, with all the
- 11:13Speaker 10: scary stuff we've been through, it's still true that timing
- 11:16Speaker 10: is everything and the time to buy is now. But
- 11:19Speaker 10: don't go looking without a solid pre-approval in hand. And
- 11:22Speaker 10: this includes an application and a detailed discussion about property taxes.
- 11:26Speaker 10: If you didn't have the talk, You know, about property taxes,
- 11:30Speaker 10: you really don't know what you're pre-approved for. That should
- 11:33Speaker 10: make you wonder what else they may have left out.
- 11:35Speaker 10: Mortgages are personal. Let's face it, we're dealing with your
- 11:38Speaker 10: home and your money, and it doesn't get much more
- 11:40Speaker 10: personal than that. When it's the largest transaction that most
- 11:43Speaker 10: people will ever be involved in, imagine having someone on
- 11:47Speaker 10: your side looking out after you. What a concept. We
- 11:50Speaker 10: audit your closing statement to make sure you're not paying
- 11:52Speaker 10: for things that you're not supposed to. Do you think
- 11:55Speaker 10: your big bank's going to do that? Probably not. For
- 11:58Speaker 10: all of your mortgage needs, call us at Baker Mortgage.
- 12:00Speaker 10: I promise you'll be glad you did. We're at 281-313-MOVE
- 12:04Speaker 10: or go directly to bakermortgage.com.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Equal housing lender. License number 263213.
- 12:10Speaker 1: If you're buying a new house, get it inspected while
- 12:13Speaker 1: the builder is there to help. If you're buying a
- 12:15Speaker 1: resale house, for sure get it inspected.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Contact Edward Robinson at Professional Engineering.
- 12:19Speaker 1: His website is profengineering.com or call today, 713-664-1264, Professional Engineering.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Catch Chris X Radio weekdays at 4, right here on
- 12:31Speaker 1: The Voice of Texas.
- 12:32Speaker 11: Hillary Rodham Clinton's office is seeking fall interns to provide
- 12:37Speaker 11: support for their staff, and they're looking for someone who
- 12:39Speaker 11: has a high level of discretion. Social media responded with,
- 12:45Speaker 11: is Monica Lewinsky available? Who the hell would sign up
- 12:48Speaker 11: for this job? Bill Clinton was quoted as saying, what'd
- 12:51Speaker 11: I do?
- 12:52Speaker 1: Chris X Radio, weekdays 4 till 6, right here on
- 12:56Speaker 1: The Voice of Texas.
- 13:09Speaker 12: An economic crisis and a social justice crisis. I think
- 13:14Speaker 12: that kind of New Deal effort would be the only
- 13:18Speaker 12: approach to start to address all three in a thoughtful
- 13:20Speaker 12: and meaningful way.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Good for you, Jim.
- 13:24Speaker 13: Thank you very much. The second question, communities of color
- 13:29Speaker 13: receive the most harm from the impacts of climate change
- 13:33Speaker 13: and yet receive the least government support to deal with it.
- 13:37Speaker 13: Tell us about one of the committees you are on
- 13:40Speaker 13: or hope to be on and the most important actions
- 13:43Speaker 13: that committee could take to fight for climate justice and
- 13:46Speaker 13: mitigate the impacts of climate change for all Texans.
- 13:51Speaker 12: Yeah, and I'm so thankful that you asked this question
- 13:55Speaker 12: and also thankful that young activists have have really drawn
- 13:58Speaker 12: the link between climate change and supremacy and capitalism in
- 14:02Speaker 12: our country and i think only ending the ways that
- 14:06Speaker 12: all three of those oppressive systems work.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Together yeah that's terrible of course i'm hearing a big
- 14:10Speaker 4: giant thing so let's get rid of the 360 again
- 14:13Speaker 4: and maybe we'll uh fix that i'm hearing a huge
- 14:15Speaker 4: buzz uh in my headphones i don't know if that's
- 14:18Speaker 4: because of the 360 or because of something else uh
- 14:20Speaker 4: but jack is that off the air now the 360
- 14:22Speaker 4: okay it's Okay, all right. It just must be my headphones. Thanks,
- 14:27Speaker 4: Jack's telling me in my ears it's just my headphones,
- 14:29Speaker 4: which is good. All right, but things we should talk about,
- 14:31Speaker 4: things we should get to beyond this, I just wanted
- 14:33Speaker 4: you to hear it from his own words, because Tallarico
- 14:36Speaker 4: believes in insane and crazy things. And of course he does,
- 14:41Speaker 4: because he believes a lot of insane and crazy things.
- 14:43Speaker 4: And I guess, to be honest, I can say this
- 14:47Speaker 4: here before we move on to anything else, too. I wonder, definitely,
- 14:51Speaker 4: definitely wonder... if people are just refusing to pay attention,
- 14:55Speaker 4: because part of me feels that that is what's going on,
- 14:58Speaker 4: that there are a lot of people out there who
- 15:01Speaker 4: could easily be convinced and demonstrate to them that this
- 15:05Speaker 4: person is radical and crazy and that everything he says
- 15:07Speaker 4: and thinks is horrible. And then there's other people out
- 15:10Speaker 4: there that I think, you know what, probably, at least
- 15:13Speaker 4: in my opinion, just don't want to hear it. They
- 15:17Speaker 4: just don't want to listen to any of this at
- 15:19Speaker 4: all because their approach very simplistically is, I'm voting for
- 15:23Speaker 4: this person no matter what, you know, no matter what happens.
- 15:27Speaker 4: It doesn't matter to me. I am going to vote
- 15:30Speaker 4: for Tallarico because of how much I hate Trump, which
- 15:34Speaker 4: is the only thing that it really could be, in
- 15:36Speaker 4: my opinion. I don't think you can you can vote
- 15:40Speaker 4: for any other reason at this point. Let's move on.
- 15:42Speaker 4: There's another topic out there that I want to discuss
- 15:44Speaker 4: that I thought was important today. The Charlie Kirk case
- 15:49Speaker 4: has proceeded further. Tyler Robinson's attorney entered a not guilty
- 15:54Speaker 4: plea on his behalf in the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
- 15:58Speaker 4: A Utah judge is doing a terrible job, in my opinion,
- 16:02Speaker 4: in the opinion of others in handling this case the
- 16:06Speaker 4: way it needs to be handled. Here's a little bit
- 16:08Speaker 4: of audio of what happened yesterday. If the 360 can
- 16:13Speaker 4: be back, turn back on. OK, now it's on again
- 16:16Speaker 4: and now we can't hear it again, which is where, oh,
- 16:18Speaker 4: you know what? Actually, OK, this is sorry, Jack. This
- 16:20Speaker 4: is me. This is a me problem. All right, I'm
- 16:22Speaker 4: fixing that. Here we go one more time. Hit play.
- 16:25Speaker 10: Mr.
- 16:25Speaker 14: Robinson, wish to enter into pleas today.
- 16:27Speaker 8: Yes, Your Honor. We'll proceed with the arraignment.
- 16:30Speaker 15: All right.
- 16:33Speaker 14: And what pleas does he wish to enter into the record?
- 16:37Speaker 4: At this point, we would.
- 16:38Speaker 16: Waive reading of the indictment.
- 16:40Speaker 10: I'm sorry.
- 16:42Speaker 16: Waive reading of the information and interpleas of not guilty
- 16:47Speaker 16: on Mr. Robinson's behalf to all counts.
- 16:49Speaker 5: All right.
- 16:50Speaker 14: The court finds that that is knowingly and voluntarily made and.
- 16:57Speaker 5: That addresses that issue.
- 17:00Speaker 4: I know that Erica Kirk had wished for a speedy trial,
- 17:02Speaker 4: and I think a lot of us would like a
- 17:04Speaker 4: speedy trial. I think the only people that don't want
- 17:07Speaker 4: anything quickly in the world of Tyler Robinson and in
- 17:10Speaker 4: the world of this are people who believe in the
- 17:12Speaker 4: conspiracy theory that something else happened or something else is
- 17:15Speaker 4: going on other than what we believe. simply believed to
- 17:18Speaker 4: be true, which is that Tyler Robinson killed Charlie Kirk.
- 17:23Speaker 4: And I don't know. Honestly, I do think the conspiracy
- 17:26Speaker 4: theorists are the only ones that think something can come
- 17:28Speaker 4: up in this court case that we don't already know.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Because I believe... It's fairly obvious what's going on here. Here,
- 17:34Speaker 4: I want to play a little bit more of Fox's coverage.
- 17:36Speaker 14: This was a win across the board for prosecutors. Judge
- 17:38Speaker 14: Tony Graff just ruled that there is enough evidence for
- 17:41Speaker 14: Tyler Robinson to go to trial to face all seven
- 17:44Speaker 14: charges against him, including aggravated murder, and importantly, that he
- 17:48Speaker 14: will be eligible for the death penalty. And that was
- 17:52Speaker 14: a major point of focus during today's hearings. In Utah,
- 17:55Speaker 14: capital punishment is only an option if there are aggravating
- 17:58Speaker 14: factors in a murder charge. And in this case, prosecutors
- 18:01Speaker 14: argued Robinson put other people's lives at risk when he
- 18:04Speaker 14: shot Charlie Kirk. The judge agreed with those arguments and
- 18:07Speaker 14: noted how multiple people were standing near Kirk when he
- 18:10Speaker 14: was shot. Judge Graff also just finished going through each
- 18:14Speaker 14: of the other six charges against Tyler Robinson today. and
- 18:17Speaker 14: giving explanations for each one of why there was enough
- 18:20Speaker 14: evidence to support them going.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Through to the trial.
- 18:23Speaker 14: The next step here is an arraignment where Robinson will
- 18:26Speaker 14: enter a plea. Technically, that could happen tonight, but there
- 18:30Speaker 14: are indications.
- 18:30Speaker 4: And that did happen, of course, as you just heard
- 18:32Speaker 4: the audio that I played, that he entered a plea
- 18:34Speaker 4: of not guilty, and we'll see. I'll say one last
- 18:38Speaker 4: thing about this, and then I'll probably move on to
- 18:40Speaker 4: some other topics out there that I also think are
- 18:42Speaker 4: pretty important. In the case of Tyler Robinson, in the
- 18:45Speaker 4: case of the discussion about his guilt in the murder
- 18:48Speaker 4: of Charlie Kirk, whether or not it's a speedy trial,
- 18:51Speaker 4: like whether that matters. I hope that anyone that's claiming
- 18:55Speaker 4: that they don't know the truth, that, you know, that
- 18:58Speaker 4: this doesn't make sense or that the bullet didn't make sense,
- 19:01Speaker 4: whatever it is, those people watch the trial. Because the
- 19:05Speaker 4: thing that infuriates me more than people who ask questions
- 19:09Speaker 4: is people who refuse to find answers. As I was
- 19:11Speaker 4: talking about with Tallarico, and I'll talk about quite a bit,
- 19:14Speaker 4: I think, throughout the show today, One of the craziest
- 19:17Speaker 4: decisions that anybody can make in the world we live
- 19:20Speaker 4: in right now is to also pretend as though a
- 19:24Speaker 4: lot of answers aren't out there. Not all the answers
- 19:27Speaker 4: are out there, of course. There's a lot of stuff
- 19:29Speaker 4: that they'll keep from you intentionally. They'll keep from me intentionally.
- 19:32Speaker 4: But there are things that they will actually admit to us.
- 19:36Speaker 4: They will tell us. And in those cases, we should
- 19:39Speaker 4: go look or at least someone somewhere has reported the truth.
- 19:43Speaker 4: Nick Shirley is a great example. of someone who's willing
- 19:46Speaker 4: to go knock on doors at facilities that claim that
- 19:49Speaker 4: they're doing something. in Minnesota that obviously are not doing
- 19:52Speaker 4: the thing that they claim that they're doing. And so,
- 19:55Speaker 4: as I said, like when you ask a question, if
- 19:58Speaker 4: you don't go look for the answer to make sure,
- 20:01Speaker 4: you know, definitively it can't be found, then you're just lazy.
- 20:06Speaker 4: Then you're just a person who wants to say things
- 20:08Speaker 4: out loud and Walk around and think highly of yourself.
- 20:11Speaker 4: I don't mean you, who's ever out there listening to
- 20:13Speaker 4: the show. I mean the people we know who do this.
- 20:16Speaker 4: They want to think highly of themselves, and then they
- 20:18Speaker 4: want to go back and live their life without doing
- 20:21Speaker 4: any homework. I was a terrible student in school a
- 20:24Speaker 4: lot of the time, occasionally pretty good, usually better at
- 20:27Speaker 4: math than anything else. But the reason that I wasn't
- 20:30Speaker 4: to the best of my ability educationally is I just
- 20:33Speaker 4: didn't want to do the work. I didn't want to
- 20:35Speaker 4: do the homework when I was sent home, especially as
- 20:38Speaker 4: a kid. And that's a problem. And when you get
- 20:41Speaker 4: to this stage in life as an adult where you
- 20:43Speaker 4: can look into a lot of these things and you don't,
- 20:45Speaker 4: I don't have an excuse for you anymore. I can't
- 20:48Speaker 4: make up any other reason that that's OK. One other
- 20:50Speaker 4: thing I want to play. This is AOC. She's walking
- 20:54Speaker 4: around outside. TMZ asked her an interesting question. Would you
- 20:58Speaker 4: ever date a conservative? I know Captain Jack is a
- 21:01Speaker 4: big fan of AOC. And so AOC did answer the
- 21:04Speaker 4: question whether or not she'd ever date. Any conservative person.
- 21:08Speaker 4: Here's a little bit of that answer. Could I ask,
- 21:10Speaker 4: would you ever date a conservative?
- 21:14Speaker 8: Is that anything you'd ever entertain?
- 21:18Speaker 13: I have to say it's... Probably not.
- 21:25Speaker 12: Did it cross the aisle?
- 21:27Speaker 4: No, you know, it's not to, you.
- 21:30Speaker 15: Know, no foul to people who do, but I think,
- 21:34Speaker 15: and of course how you define that is very different
- 21:36Speaker 15: from person to person, right?
- 21:37Speaker 4: Sure, of course it is.
- 21:39Speaker 3: But I think a lot of politics sometimes, at least
- 21:41Speaker 3: for me, is about values and being aligned with values.
- 21:46Speaker 4: And whoever's paying her a certain amount of money, who's
- 21:48Speaker 4: ever giving her the latest check that sends her in
- 21:50Speaker 4: the direction to say some of the things that she's
- 21:52Speaker 4: saying here. That's what I think part of the problem is, too,
- 21:55Speaker 4: which I find hilarious. The buzzing just went away. Do
- 21:57Speaker 4: you know why that happened, Jack, at all or no?
- 21:59Speaker 4: No idea. Because the buzzing just totally disappeared on me. Oh,
- 22:03Speaker 4: that's so great. Whatever you did, Jack, whatever you just fixed,
- 22:06Speaker 4: you did an amazing job because I've been hearing buzzing
- 22:08Speaker 4: this entire segment and it was kind of driving me crazy.
- 22:11Speaker 4: And now it's gone. Now it's over. All right. We'll
- 22:14Speaker 4: take another break. I apologize for any technical issues at
- 22:17Speaker 4: the beginning of the show. Part of the reason for
- 22:19Speaker 4: that is I'm trying to do things a little bit
- 22:21Speaker 4: differently on our social media streams so that you hear
- 22:25Speaker 4: us differently, you see us differently. Moving forward, it makes
- 22:28Speaker 4: it easier for us to do a couple things at
- 22:30Speaker 4: the same time. And I think that potentially I might
- 22:35Speaker 4: have ruined some things in the process of fixing some
- 22:37Speaker 4: other things. So I apologize for that. But we're good
- 22:39Speaker 4: to go now. We've righted the ship. Everything's great. We
- 22:42Speaker 4: do have a guest coming up. I look forward to
- 22:44Speaker 4: talking to our guest on KSEV Mornings. As I said,
- 22:47Speaker 4: this is Craig Collins. Wayne Del Cefino is on special assignment.
- 22:50Speaker 4: We will take a break, and we'll be back in
- 22:52Speaker 4: just a bit on The Voice of Texas.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Money Matters, this morning at 11, here on The Voice
- 23:19Speaker 1: of Texas.
- 23:21Speaker 7: When it's time to replace a roof, some people put

- 23:26Speaker 7: from Tejas Roofing, your Houston roofing company.
- 23:29Speaker 13: I understand.
- 23:30Speaker 7: People tell me it's way too complicated and too expensive.
- 23:34Speaker 15: Our customers tell us they wish they would have done
- 23:36Speaker 15: it sooner.
- 23:37Speaker 4: I hear it all the time.
- 23:38Speaker 7: Once the roof is replaced, they wonder why they waited
- 23:40Speaker 7: so long because it's really not that complicated. We show
- 23:44Speaker 7: up on time. We quote you a fair price. We

- 23:52Speaker 15: The cleanup is phenomenal. People always comment that it looks

- 24:51Speaker 17: At O'Hare and Company Real Estate, we believe there are
- 24:54Speaker 17: people in our country and other countries that are trying

- 25:01Speaker 17: protect what our veterans and forefathers have fought and died for.

- 25:32Speaker 5: Word for inspiration, education, all without manipulation. Sundays at 8 a.m.
- 25:37Speaker 5: on KSCV, The Voice of Texas.
- 25:54Speaker 4: KSVB Morning. My name is Craig Collins. Wayne DelGiovino is
- 25:58Speaker 4: on special assignment. For anybody that was hearing any sort
- 26:01Speaker 4: of buzzing noises, I do think that we have an
- 26:04Speaker 4: audio issue that's causing that still, and we are going
- 26:06Speaker 4: to fix it. I promise we're going to get that
- 26:08Speaker 4: done at some point today. But there is a lot
- 26:11Speaker 4: of stuff to talk about that's not necessarily dependent on
- 26:14Speaker 4: audio itself. As I said, one of the big conversations
- 26:18Speaker 4: that I was having today, or at least I would
- 26:20Speaker 4: like to have with you, And you can call in.
- 26:22Speaker 4: You can be a part of the show if you'd
- 26:24Speaker 4: like to be. And we can discuss it in whatever
- 26:27Speaker 4: variety that might be. But it is James Tallarico and
- 26:31Speaker 4: the crazy things that he says and how they're not
- 26:33Speaker 4: disqualifying to him as a Senate candidate.
- 26:36Speaker 5: 281-558-5738.
- 26:36Speaker 4: 281-558-5738 is that phone number. But I don't know. I'll
- 26:48Speaker 4: just say this before I move on to anything else.
- 26:51Speaker 4: I think that I think that it's more likely than not.
- 26:54Speaker 4: This is probably the better way to say it, that
- 26:56Speaker 4: there's a lot of people out there who are mad
- 26:58Speaker 4: about something. And you can define that something differently. Iran
- 27:01Speaker 4: and the retaliation strikes that are going on right now,
- 27:04Speaker 4: the fact that that war is still going like you
- 27:06Speaker 4: name the thing. And I think this goes beyond any
- 27:09Speaker 4: one demographic of people, meaning it's not just younger voters
- 27:13Speaker 4: who are upset about something gas prices. is a fairly
- 27:16Speaker 4: obvious example to choose. And in response to being upset
- 27:20Speaker 4: about that thing, you want to blame the person who's
- 27:23Speaker 4: currently in the White House, and then you want to
- 27:25Speaker 4: switch the team so the other team takes charge. And
- 27:29Speaker 4: I guess the only response I have to that, before
- 27:31Speaker 4: I get into some stuff that I want to talk
- 27:33Speaker 4: about with the Iran conflict and the latest things that
- 27:36Speaker 4: have happened there, but the only real response I have
- 27:39Speaker 4: to people who are upset and they just want to
- 27:42Speaker 4: see change for the sake of change, is how often
- 27:45Speaker 4: does that actually work? How often, if you abandon your ideals,
- 27:49Speaker 4: which I doubt many actual conservatives, real conservatives would do
- 27:53Speaker 4: in this process, but if you're someone who did, how
- 27:55Speaker 4: often does that actually get you the thing you want?
- 27:57Speaker 4: And I say this a lot to Democrats and people
- 28:00Speaker 4: who vote democratically all the time, especially in the city.
- 28:04Speaker 4: And I think that we've had conversations on the show
- 28:06Speaker 4: where minorities tend to vote a certain way in larger
- 28:10Speaker 4: numbers than than say they vote on the other side.
- 28:13Speaker 4: And if you talk to someone about how happy they
- 28:16Speaker 4: are with the results of that vote, they'll pretty much
- 28:18Speaker 4: tell you all the time that they're not, that the
- 28:21Speaker 4: thing they were promised was not the thing that was delivered.
- 28:23Speaker 4: And I find that fascinating, that people continue to go
- 28:28Speaker 4: a certain road on certain things. And as they go
- 28:31Speaker 4: that road, as they make the decision they make, and
- 28:34Speaker 4: then they see the lack of benefit in the way
- 28:37Speaker 4: that that decision is decided, that inevitably they're still like,
- 28:42Speaker 4: you know what, screw it, let's go ahead and try
- 28:43Speaker 4: it again anyway, for whatever reason that might be. All right,
- 28:46Speaker 4: let's go to the phones. We do have at least
- 28:48Speaker 4: a call from Kevin, who's calling from the north side. Kevin,
- 28:51Speaker 4: what do you want to say?
- 28:53Speaker 9: Yes, you're doing a great job there, Craig.
- 28:55Speaker 13: Thanks.
- 28:56Speaker 9: I just want to comment on what James Tallarico said.
- 29:00Speaker 9: This is nothing new. Back in the 1950s, The Soviet
- 29:04Speaker 9: Union was using their psych ops, as they say, undercover
- 29:08Speaker 9: psychological operations to try to undermine America, and they weren't
- 29:12Speaker 9: having the success that they had with other countries. And
- 29:15Speaker 9: they decided the reason was Americans were too patriotic, too hardworking,
- 29:20Speaker 9: and too religious. And by religion, they meant Christian. So anyway,
- 29:24Speaker 9: what Tallarico's spewing is the same old crap that they've
- 29:27Speaker 9: been doing since then. Climate change is nothing than replacing
- 29:31Speaker 9: Christianity with paganism. And the fact that he wants to
- 29:35Speaker 9: eliminate capitalism means he wants to eliminate the work ethic.
- 29:39Speaker 5: Right.
- 29:40Speaker 9: The hard work.
- 29:41Speaker 4: Yeah, and eliminate, Kevin, I'll jump in for a second.
- 29:43Speaker 4: He wants to eliminate our ability to be innovative. One
- 29:46Speaker 4: of the biggest arguments I'll make, and this is more
- 29:48Speaker 4: about our medical system than anything else, because I think
- 29:52Speaker 4: prices should be cheaper. I think we should have an
- 29:54Speaker 4: ability to negotiate directly with the hospitals. I think that
- 29:57Speaker 4: Trump is right. that the prices should be transparent, you
- 30:00Speaker 4: should be able to know what you would pay at
- 30:03Speaker 4: one place or another place. I believe there's cracks in
- 30:06Speaker 4: that system. But when someone tells me that we need
- 30:08Speaker 4: to do a government version where the government pays for
- 30:12Speaker 4: anything similar to Canada and other places that do this, socialism,
- 30:16Speaker 4: at least when it comes to health care, I know
- 30:18Speaker 4: that two huge mistakes happen there, two huge problems. One,
- 30:22Speaker 4: health care becomes impossible to get. The lines for certain
- 30:25Speaker 4: things go through the hallway out the door and into
- 30:28Speaker 4: the next month or next year. And the other thing
- 30:30Speaker 4: is you stop innovating. The best part about capitalism is
- 30:33Speaker 4: the reward for people who work hard and create a thing,
- 30:37Speaker 4: that they'll become wealthy because of it. And if you
- 30:39Speaker 4: don't have that reward, you don't have that push. Go ahead.
- 30:43Speaker 9: Right, right. So, yeah, so and then the other thing,
- 30:46Speaker 9: you know, he's trying to attack us as being white supremacist.
- 30:50Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 30:50Speaker 9: And that's to collapse the patriotism. The country's a bunch
- 30:54Speaker 9: of racists who's going to want to be patriotic and
- 30:57Speaker 9: support it. So he's just using the same tools that
- 31:00Speaker 9: the Soviets started using in the 1950s. He's got different
- 31:03Speaker 9: words attached to him, but that's what he's using. But
- 31:05Speaker 9: to go back to what you're talking about, capitalism, President
- 31:09Speaker 9: Herbert Hoover gets a bad rap. He was in office
- 31:12Speaker 9: when the Great Depression started, but he was a self-made man,
- 31:16Speaker 9: much like President Trump. And he was a good man, too.
- 31:20Speaker 9: He became a multimillionaire, which was a lot of money
- 31:22Speaker 9: back then, and he decided it was time to give back,
- 31:24Speaker 9: and he went into government. And he was trying to
- 31:28Speaker 9: If we'd have reelected him to a second term, he
- 31:30Speaker 9: might have been able to solve the Great Depression. But,
- 31:32Speaker 9: of course, he got kicked out. But he said the
- 31:35Speaker 9: only problem with capitalism is capitalists. They're too damn greedy.
- 31:39Speaker 9: And that's basically the sum of it.
- 31:43Speaker 4: You're right.
- 31:43Speaker 16: It is.
- 31:44Speaker 4: If they could be a little less greedy, it'd be
- 31:46Speaker 4: great for everybody else. But at the same time, I
- 31:48Speaker 4: like the fact that they push as hard as they do.
- 31:49Speaker 4: Thank you for the call, Kevin. I think that's the
- 31:52Speaker 4: first time that we've heard from you, at least since
- 31:55Speaker 4: I've been hosting the morning show. So I really appreciate
- 31:57Speaker 4: that call. Let's move on to Robert, who is calling
- 32:00Speaker 4: from Katie. Robert, what do you want to say?
- 32:03Speaker 18: Good morning. You were saying something earlier about when people
- 32:06Speaker 18: vote and then you get the results of the vote.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Yes.
- 32:11Speaker 18: The taxes, property taxes. Let me give you an example.
- 32:14Speaker 18: Why don't the Republicans talk about property taxes, about all
- 32:18Speaker 18: it does is hurt the Democrats who vote for the
- 32:21Speaker 18: property taxes because they're going to raise the rent. You know,
- 32:24Speaker 18: they think just because you own a home, you know,
- 32:26Speaker 18: you're rich. But the people who are most affected are
- 32:29Speaker 18: the renters, because all that happens is they raise the rent.
- 32:32Speaker 18: And I don't know why they don't bring that up
- 32:35Speaker 18: when they talk about property tax.
- 32:37Speaker 4: You know, that's a really good point. And I really
- 32:40Speaker 4: appreciate you calling in and saying that, Robert, because I
- 32:43Speaker 4: know that we've been talking a lot about property taxes,
- 32:45Speaker 4: at least the Amigos have, and Senator Betancourt has been
- 32:49Speaker 4: fighting some of these raises that we're seeing. And we
- 32:52Speaker 4: intend to have some guests on and talk about what
- 32:55Speaker 4: certain politicians would do to fight that more if they
- 32:58Speaker 4: get elected. I think Orlando Sanchez is one of those
- 33:00Speaker 4: guys that has been talking about this a little bit,
- 33:02Speaker 4: but there's a lot of them. And you're 100 percent
- 33:05Speaker 4: factual in not just saying that it's a problem that
- 33:09Speaker 4: a lot of people hate. Like as a homeowner, as
- 33:12Speaker 4: a person who owns a condo, anything like that, you
- 33:14Speaker 4: don't want to pay it. You hate it. But it
- 33:16Speaker 4: does hurt the people. That don't actually own their homes
- 33:19Speaker 4: because what are they going to have next year they're
- 33:21Speaker 4: going to have a rent increase more significant than whatever
- 33:25Speaker 4: the property tax increase was to make up whatever amount
- 33:28Speaker 4: you know they didn't have during this short period between
- 33:31Speaker 4: those two. And it's going to go even worse from there.
- 33:34Speaker 4: So every single policy that comes out, they're like, yeah,
- 33:37Speaker 4: we're doing this to put more money in the government
- 33:39Speaker 4: to help you inevitably hurts you much quicker than any
- 33:43Speaker 4: sort of fruits of that would actually be something that
- 33:46Speaker 4: you'd get to experience or seen by you. So it's
- 33:48Speaker 4: amazing to think of the ways that they miss the
- 33:51Speaker 4: forest for the trees is the way I'd say.
- 33:53Speaker 5: It, Robert.
- 33:54Speaker 17: Absolutely.
- 33:55Speaker 18: They're shooting themselves in the foot.
- 33:56Speaker 9: Yes.
- 33:57Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 33:57Speaker 4: And they're willingly voting for it again and again and again.
- 34:00Speaker 4: And that's the other thing. I'll ask you this before
- 34:02Speaker 4: I let you go. That's crazy to me. The people
- 34:04Speaker 4: who keep putting the same individuals in power as far
- 34:07Speaker 4: as Democrats in Harris County go, how do they not
- 34:10Speaker 4: eventually get dissatisfied with that result? How do they not
- 34:14Speaker 4: focus on the result of that decision when they have
- 34:16Speaker 4: years to do it?
- 34:18Speaker 18: Because their life keeps getting worse and they keep blaming
- 34:21Speaker 18: everybody else for it.
- 34:22Speaker 4: That's fair. All right, well, thank you for the call, Robert.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Robert from Katie calling in. I don't know if that's
- 34:26Speaker 4: the first time that he's also called since I've taken
- 34:29Speaker 4: over this show and since Wayne Dolcefino has taken over
- 34:32Speaker 4: the show. I'd like you to tell us that. If
- 34:34Speaker 4: you're a first-time caller to this show in its new form,
- 34:37Speaker 4: not a first-time caller to the station or anything else,
- 34:40Speaker 4: just tell me that when you call in, because I'd
- 34:42Speaker 4: really appreciate hearing that from more people. But look, and
- 34:46Speaker 4: I don't want to confuse... two positions I have as
- 34:50Speaker 4: people thinking that there's somehow hypocrisy within my feeling, because
- 34:54Speaker 4: I said, and I believe this, that anyone who wants
- 34:57Speaker 4: to vote out Republicans because they're dissatisfied with Trump or something,
- 35:02Speaker 4: whether they voted for him or not, and a lot
- 35:04Speaker 4: of people have hated him from 2016 on, so I'm
- 35:08Speaker 4: not really talking about those individuals, but anybody that claims
- 35:11Speaker 4: that it was one thing, but now it's something else,
- 35:13Speaker 4: and they think change is good just for the sake
- 35:16Speaker 4: of change, I think that's beyond stupid. And the reason
- 35:19Speaker 4: I think that's beyond stupid is you're not focused on
- 35:21Speaker 4: the results. You're focused on a simplistic thing. You don't
- 35:25Speaker 4: actually care about what the end result is of the
- 35:28Speaker 4: thing that was in power before Trump and would be
- 35:32Speaker 4: in power again if Trump loses this election, or not Trump,
- 35:36Speaker 4: excuse me, whoever, you name it, Tallarico, the Democratic candidate
- 35:41Speaker 4: who beats a Republican. So I think that change for
- 35:44Speaker 4: the sake of change is stupid. I also think that
- 35:47Speaker 4: if you have 15 to 20 years of a political
- 35:53Speaker 4: party in power, like you do in the cities that
- 35:55Speaker 4: exist throughout this state, like you do in Harris County
- 35:58Speaker 4: or Austin or anywhere, when you say that that doesn't
- 36:03Speaker 4: deserve an attempt at change, I think that's a profoundly
- 36:06Speaker 4: different discussion because it's been so long and you have
- 36:10Speaker 4: no real example to compare it to of what conservatives
- 36:13Speaker 4: would do if they became... people in power at a
- 36:16Speaker 4: Harris County level, at a local level, as opposed to
- 36:19Speaker 4: at a national or larger level. That's the thing that
- 36:23Speaker 4: that fascinates me the most is that there's people out
- 36:27Speaker 4: there who say, I want change right away at the
- 36:29Speaker 4: highest of level because you're upset about something that you've
- 36:32Speaker 4: only seen a couple of years of. But then be
- 36:35Speaker 4: totally fine with a 20 year history, 30 or whatever
- 36:38Speaker 4: the case might be for certain positions, certain political jobs
- 36:43Speaker 4: in the city. And you're like, ah, it's fine. It
- 36:45Speaker 4: hasn't worked out for me at all. It's not something
- 36:48Speaker 4: that seems like it's about to get better anytime soon.
- 36:50Speaker 4: But this is going great. Let's get one more call
- 36:53Speaker 4: on before we take a break. Steve in Magnolia is
- 36:56Speaker 4: on the phone. Steve, what do you want to say? Steve,
- 37:00Speaker 4: you there?
- 37:02Speaker 2: Yes, sir. How are you doing today?
- 37:04Speaker 7: Good.
- 37:04Speaker 4: How are you doing, buddy?
- 37:06Speaker 2: Hey, I'd like to make a comment about the property taxes.
- 37:09Speaker 4: Sure.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Going back 20 years when Dan used to be on
- 37:13Speaker 2: the radio. They fought property taxes as we do today.
- 37:18Speaker 2: And what I've found out is most people aren't even
- 37:22Speaker 2: aware of how much property taxes are because they buy
- 37:26Speaker 2: a house, the taxes are all included in their escrow account.
- 37:31Speaker 2: They never even see a check go to the government
- 37:33Speaker 2: for property tax.
- 37:35Speaker 4: That's actually true. You're right about that. A lot of
- 37:37Speaker 4: the system pays for it itself. Yeah, go ahead.
- 37:38Speaker 5: Yes.
- 37:40Speaker 2: I made both of my daughters... When they purchased homes,
- 37:44Speaker 2: I made them get out of having the taxes included
- 37:48Speaker 2: in the escrow account. And every year they've got to
- 37:51Speaker 2: write a check for their property taxes.
- 37:55Speaker 16: Awesome.
- 37:56Speaker 2: And they know what it is. And if the legislature
- 38:00Speaker 2: passed a law that said you cannot put your property
- 38:03Speaker 2: taxes in an escrow account, and everyone had to write
- 38:06Speaker 2: a check every January 31st for the property taxes, it
- 38:11Speaker 2: would come to a grinding halt, the increases.
- 38:14Speaker 4: Yeah, you're right about that, actually. It's a great demonstration
- 38:18Speaker 4: on a small level of a problem that I think, Steve,
- 38:21Speaker 4: you're going to agree with me, we have in so
- 38:23Speaker 4: many other places in politics. They use the useful idiots,
- 38:28Speaker 4: as I think Rushie Limbaugh used to always call them,
- 38:30Speaker 4: the people that just willingly or unwillingly don't know a
- 38:34Speaker 4: ridiculous amount of stuff, whether it's historical information, whatever the
- 38:38Speaker 4: case might be. In this case, it's a very simplistic.
- 38:41Speaker 4: They don't even know how much money they're paying in
- 38:42Speaker 4: taxes because their bank and their mortgage and everything is
- 38:46Speaker 4: handling it for them, and they don't pay attention to
- 38:49Speaker 4: that letter that comes in the mail that says what
- 38:51Speaker 4: it says, which is crazy. But you're right that the $ 200,
- 38:54Speaker 4: $ 300 hikes– year over year that just happened and Harris
- 38:59Speaker 4: County thinks will be totally fine. And Paxton is one
- 39:02Speaker 4: of the only people fighting it, trying to limit how
- 39:04Speaker 4: high it goes through his position as attorney general. Most
- 39:08Speaker 4: people are just going to keep, you know, ignoring it
- 39:10Speaker 4: and moving on. And then as my last caller said,
- 39:13Speaker 4: renters are going to pay way more in rent the
- 39:15Speaker 4: next year and not know why. And I guess just
- 39:18Speaker 4: accept that. Yes. Yeah, absolutely. Anything else you want to say, Steve?
- 39:24Speaker 2: Yeah, the next time I call, if we have two
- 39:26Speaker 2: or three hours, I'd like to get into the college.
- 39:30Speaker 2: tuition and the government loans for the college kids. I've
- 39:34Speaker 2: got some real insight on that, too.
- 39:37Speaker 4: As a millennial, I have a lot of thoughts about that, too.
- 39:39Speaker 4: Thank you for the call, Steve. I am someone who
- 39:42Speaker 4: resisted going to a more expensive college in my 20s
- 39:46Speaker 4: because I read the paperwork. And I'm like, this paperwork
- 39:49Speaker 4: seems terrible. These numbers seem awful. The amount of money
- 39:52Speaker 4: that this would cost is awful. I don't want to
- 39:54Speaker 4: do it. And as a guy with two daughters, I
- 39:57Speaker 4: imagine he feels the same way. I see that we're
- 39:59Speaker 4: getting some more calls. So I like the fact that
- 40:01Speaker 4: this is kind of turning into a call-in show, which
- 40:04Speaker 4: we haven't really done in the first couple weeks of
- 40:08Speaker 4: doing the mornings here at KSEV. As I said, I'm
- 40:11Speaker 4: Craig Collins. Wayne Dolcefino is usually here as the other
- 40:14Speaker 4: voice of this show. But you can call in. You
- 40:17Speaker 4: can be a part of the show today. because why not?
- 40:20Speaker 4: Darn it. It's more fun to talk to someone than
- 40:23Speaker 4: to just talk on my own, and that's one of
- 40:25Speaker 4: the biggest benefits of having a call in line at
- 40:28Speaker 4: a radio station. But 281-558-5738 is that phone number. 281-558-5738
- 40:33Speaker 4: or KSEV. I'm going to keep trying to fix my
- 40:38Speaker 4: technical issue that I think we still have, so we'll
- 40:41Speaker 4: get back to more audio at some point, too. But
- 40:43Speaker 4: this is 700 AM, The Voice of Texas and KSEV Mornings.
- 41:13Speaker 3: You are listening to the home of the Dana Show,
- 41:15Speaker 3: AM 700 KSEV, the voice of Texas.
- 41:21Speaker 5: And as we take another peek at what's happening on
- 41:23Speaker 5: the roadways this early morning hour, it looks like we've
- 41:26Speaker 5: got an accident working. Fortunately, it's going to be sitting
- 41:28Speaker 5: on the left shoulder, but nonetheless, watch for it. East
- 41:30Speaker 5: Loop North out at I-10 East. even though it's on
- 41:32Speaker 5: that left shoulder. Watch for those emergency vehicles moving.
- 41:35Speaker 18: In and out of traffic.
- 41:36Speaker 16: Clear that up.
- 41:36Speaker 5: Also, we still have this disabled 18-wheeler on the right shoulder.
- 41:39Speaker 5: Once again, that's 288 Southbound at the Airport Boulevard exit,
- 41:42Speaker 5: so be careful if you're going to be driving to
- 41:44Speaker 5: that area. And also reports of another disabled 18-wheeler. This
- 41:47Speaker 5: is going to be also 288 Southbound, this time just
- 41:50Speaker 5: past Sophomore Boulevard. And once again, that's going to be
- 41:52Speaker 5: on the right shoulder. That's a look at traffic here
- 41:54Speaker 5: on AM 700 KSCV, The Voice of Texas.
- 41:57Speaker 4: This is Kevin O'Hara with O'Hara & Company Real Estate.
- 42:00Speaker 17: Our country's founding fathers drafted a document that is the
- 42:02Speaker 17: Declaration of Independence. We hold these truths to be self-evident,
- 42:06Speaker 17: that all men are created equal, that they are endowed
- 42:09Speaker 17: by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these
- 42:13Speaker 17: are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. To secure
- 42:16Speaker 17: these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their powers
- 42:19Speaker 17: from the consent of the governed. My friends at O'Hare
- 42:22Speaker 17: & Company Real Estate, we believe we're at our precipice
- 42:25Speaker 17: in time where we must take back our country. We
- 42:27Speaker 17: must stand up for our freedoms or lose them forever.
- 42:30Speaker 17: Please don't sit idle and let it slip away. Don't
- 42:32Speaker 17: let anyone force you to do something you choose not to.
- 42:36Speaker 17: As JFK said, if not us, who?
- 42:38Speaker 9: If not now, when?
- 42:40Speaker 17: If you're looking to buy or sell real estate, give
- 42:42Speaker 17: O'Hara & Company Real Estate a call at 281-373-3393, 281-373-3393,
- 42:47Speaker 17: or look.
- 42:50Speaker 4: Us up on the web at oharare.com. I'm Kevin O'Hara.
- 42:54Speaker 17: God bless America, and God bless Texas.
- 42:58Speaker 16: Hi, this is Michael Miller. Join me this weekend for
- 43:01Speaker 16: the Backyard Bay Radio Program. Now at our new time,
- 43:05Speaker 16: Saturday mornings at 9 a.m., right here on AM 700 KSEV,
- 43:10Speaker 16: The Voice.
- 43:20Speaker 4: KSEV, 700 AM, The Voice of Texas. I'm just curious
- 43:25Speaker 4: about one thing, and actually Jack can really help me
- 43:28Speaker 4: out with this. I think the 360 is fixed now.
- 43:32Speaker 4: I think if you turn the 360 back on on
- 43:34Speaker 4: the air, we're not going to get any kind of
- 43:36Speaker 4: buzz anymore. a monitor that we have in this station
- 43:39Speaker 4: that used to create a buzz for our live stream
- 43:42Speaker 4: that we would put up on the internet. Yeah, not
- 43:46Speaker 4: hearing anything. Thank you, Jack. Thank you, buddy. A monitor
- 43:48Speaker 4: that we used to use for live streaming for our
- 43:50Speaker 4: audio feed would always create a buzz whenever we plugged
- 43:52Speaker 4: it in, and I tried to use it in this
- 43:54Speaker 4: studio over here, thinking that it wouldn't happen the same
- 43:57Speaker 4: way on a different system, and it did. But that's
- 44:00Speaker 4: been fixed. The audio issue is fine, which makes me
- 44:03Speaker 4: very happy because I like to play a whole lot
- 44:05Speaker 4: of I like to play a lot of clips whenever
- 44:08Speaker 4: I do radio. We're going to get back to the phones, though. First,
- 44:11Speaker 4: you can call in. You can be a part of
- 44:12Speaker 4: this show, 281-558-5738, 281-558-KSEV. If you'd like to contribute, Steve,
- 44:21Speaker 4: who's in Katy, would like to jump on the show. Steve,
- 44:23Speaker 4: what do you want to say?
- 44:26Speaker 19: Yeah, I just want to remind you, Craig Fillingham, the
- 44:29Speaker 19: Open Change logo, Barack Obama.
- 44:33Speaker 5: Yes.
- 44:34Speaker 19: Yeah, we got the change, all right, and then we
- 44:36Speaker 19: got Obamacare, and now we can't afford insurance.
- 44:41Speaker 4: That's a great point, too.
- 44:42Speaker 19: Well, the change is not always the best thing.
- 44:44Speaker 4: Well, and honestly, lessons need to be learned. We do
- 44:48Speaker 4: need to learn from the mistakes that we as a
- 44:50Speaker 4: society make sometimes when we make certain decisions, and one
- 44:53Speaker 4: of those decisions is exactly that, being told that health
- 44:57Speaker 4: care can be free for everybody and it'll be great
- 44:59Speaker 4: and the government can handle it and all that, and
- 45:01Speaker 4: then how horrible that went. from the promise to the
- 45:05Speaker 4: reality of it, and then hope that people actually do
- 45:08Speaker 4: learn that lesson, which they never do. But that's another
- 45:11Speaker 4: great example. Thank you for the call on that, Steve.
- 45:15Speaker 10: Welcome.
- 45:16Speaker 4: Go ahead. Oh, no, if you want to say anything else,
- 45:18Speaker 4: I would have let him say something else, because he
- 45:19Speaker 4: said Barack Obama.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I just wanted to.
- 45:21Speaker 4: Oh, there you are.
- 45:23Speaker 19: Just thinking about this, that the media beat up Bush's
- 45:26Speaker 19: W at the time. He was in office for eight years,
- 45:30Speaker 19: and people were ready for a change after all that,
- 45:32Speaker 19: but it being told how bad he was.
- 45:36Speaker 4: That's true. That's true. People were, well, I got another call.
- 45:39Speaker 5: I got to go.
- 45:39Speaker 13: Okay.
- 45:39Speaker 4: I talk to you later. I love, I love when
- 45:43Speaker 4: that happens on the radio. There was a guy that
- 45:44Speaker 4: tried to put me on hold one time too. I
- 45:47Speaker 4: don't think captain Jack was here for that episode, but that,
- 45:49Speaker 4: that amused me a lot that the guy's like, Oh,
- 45:51Speaker 4: I got something. Hold on a sec. And then he
- 45:53Speaker 4: wanted to come back and chat with me. But yes,
- 45:56Speaker 4: he is right about that. That after eight years of
- 46:00Speaker 4: Bush and some of the decisions that president Bush made and,
- 46:02Speaker 4: People were uniquely upset. The same happened. Honestly, let me
- 46:07Speaker 4: say this, because I don't want to seem uninformed on
- 46:10Speaker 4: a certain aspect of the entirety of this conversation that
- 46:14Speaker 4: a lot of people would just inherently know, and it's
- 46:16Speaker 4: very obvious, and we all should know it. When you're
- 46:20Speaker 4: dissatisfied with the job being done in the White House,
- 46:23Speaker 4: you are much more likely to vote the opposition into power.
- 46:26Speaker 4: This happens all the time in politics, regardless of who
- 46:29Speaker 4: you are and what you believe. So people who are upset...
- 46:32Speaker 4: that the president of the United States right now isn't
- 46:35Speaker 4: doing whatever the thing is that you wanted him to do.
- 46:38Speaker 4: And I would make the argument that if you're someone
- 46:40Speaker 4: who actually voted for him, he has done a whole
- 46:43Speaker 4: lot of what he promised to do, like a significant
- 46:46Speaker 4: amount of the things that he promised are actually occurring
- 46:49Speaker 4: compared to the things that you feel are not going
- 46:53Speaker 4: the way that they're supposed to go. The Iran conflict,
- 46:55Speaker 4: one of the only examples of it. But anyway, when
- 46:58Speaker 4: that happens at the highest level, people vote on a
- 47:01Speaker 4: local level in a midterm election in the opposite direction.
- 47:04Speaker 4: And the biggest mistake of that logic, of that behavior,
- 47:08Speaker 4: is it has nothing to do with the thing you're
- 47:11Speaker 4: actually voting for. They're not as connected as you believe
- 47:14Speaker 4: them to be, especially when you get beyond the Senate race.
- 47:18Speaker 4: When you're talking about a senator who's going to vote
- 47:20Speaker 4: on bills in a certain way that might get to
- 47:22Speaker 4: the president's desk, sure, of course the thing you're saying
- 47:26Speaker 4: might be somewhat connected from point A to point B.
- 47:29Speaker 4: But when you vote in our local races and you
- 47:31Speaker 4: vote all across the aisle one side, and as you're
- 47:34Speaker 4: doing it, you're thinking about Trump and nobody else, you're
- 47:37Speaker 4: making such a profoundly dumb decision. I don't even know
- 47:40Speaker 4: how to categorize it or, you know, describe it as
- 47:44Speaker 4: anything other than that, because President Trump is not actually
- 47:48Speaker 4: impacting many of the decisions, unfortunately, that Harris County is making.
- 47:54Speaker 4: Property taxes among them. These are things that you have
- 47:56Speaker 4: to fight at a very different level. I want to
- 47:59Speaker 4: play some other audio that I liked a lot. I
- 48:01Speaker 4: thought this was pretty interesting. President Trump was on Truth
- 48:05Speaker 4: Social complaining and then also demonstrating that he is succeeding.
- 48:11Speaker 4: He's talking about the G20 financial ministers meeting in North Carolina,
- 48:16Speaker 4: how great it's going, how resilient our economy is. He
- 48:20Speaker 4: mentions hurricanes and other things. I just want to play
- 48:23Speaker 4: part of this audio of Fox discussing this because a
- 48:26Speaker 4: thing I believe And I believe it wholeheartedly. A drill
- 48:31Speaker 4: baby drill is mentioned in Trump's post, too. But a
- 48:34Speaker 4: thing that I believe very strongly is that there are
- 48:37Speaker 4: great things that a whole lot of people who might
- 48:40Speaker 4: fall in the bucket of upset conservative are just not
- 48:44Speaker 4: paying attention to or realizing that they would be much
- 48:46Speaker 4: happier about if they actually were paying attention to the
- 48:50Speaker 4: stuff going on and the amount of fraud that's being
- 48:53Speaker 4: found and investigated and rooted out of our system. The
- 48:56Speaker 4: list goes on and on, but here we go.
- 48:57Speaker 11: The first question is, you know, what's the biggest thing
- 49:00Speaker 11: you took away from your fireside chat with the Treasury Secretary?
- 49:04Speaker 6: Well, I think the biggest thing, Brett, was we are
- 49:07Speaker 6: in an economic boom, and we are in a manufacturing
- 49:11Speaker 6: boom and a construction boom. And by the way, the
- 49:16Speaker 6: ISM manufacturing today, eighth straight month of inflation. which we
- 49:21Speaker 6: haven't seen in many, many years. Just how strong this
- 49:25Speaker 6: economy is a little over a year, year and a
- 49:28Speaker 6: half after the one big beautiful bill and the Trump
- 49:31Speaker 6: tax cuts. This is a free enterprise economy. There's money
- 49:36Speaker 6: coming in. Trillions of dollars are coming in to the
- 49:39Speaker 6: United States, the onshoring. This is a very strong economy.
- 49:44Speaker 6: We don't need any big government socialism. That's the biggest takeaway.
- 49:48Speaker 4: Things are great, is what he said. I know it
- 49:51Speaker 4: might not be a thing that you're feeling yourself to
- 49:53Speaker 4: the degree that Larry Kudlow on Fox is saying it,
- 49:55Speaker 4: but I actually want to read part of Trump's Truth
- 49:58Speaker 4: Social post, which was also visual during this piece of
- 50:02Speaker 4: social media audio that I played yesterday. Very productive and
- 50:04Speaker 4: positive conversations were had today at the G20 finance ministers
- 50:09Speaker 4: meeting in Asheville, North Carolina. It is a great state, strong, resilient,
- 50:13Speaker 4: and filled with incredible people. He goes on to say
- 50:15Speaker 4: after Hurricane Helene, Sleepy Joe turned his back on the
- 50:18Speaker 4: beautiful state. But as soon as I came into office,
- 50:21Speaker 4: I worked hard and got everything done in record time.
- 50:23Speaker 4: I never forgot North Carolina and never will. I won
- 50:27Speaker 4: big there three times. and North Carolinians, Carolinians, I'm not
- 50:32Speaker 4: sure which one, Carolinians, I think it is, know I
- 50:35Speaker 4: will always have their back. Thank you to the Secretary
- 50:37Speaker 4: of Treasury, Scott Besant, who is working hard for us
- 50:40Speaker 4: and doing a fantastic job representing the U.S. We are
- 50:44Speaker 4: the world's biggest and best economy. President Trump went on
- 50:47Speaker 4: to say, drill, baby, drill, cut taxes, cut regulations, growth, growth, growth,
- 50:54Speaker 4: and as Larry Kudlow said, at least in the world
- 50:56Speaker 4: of manufacturing. Sorry, Larry, I don't want you to keep going.
- 51:00Speaker 4: We are in a manufacturing boom. And the biggest reason
- 51:05Speaker 4: why was actually tariffs. Whether or not tariffs is something
- 51:08Speaker 4: that Trump was going to be allowed to keep using
- 51:10Speaker 4: the way that he was using them, which is unfortunate
- 51:13Speaker 4: that anyone tried to get involved to stop it, which
- 51:15Speaker 4: I thought was very dumb and didn't need to happen
- 51:19Speaker 4: because the tariff thing was actually working the way it
- 51:22Speaker 4: was designed to work. The amount of deals we made,
- 51:24Speaker 4: but the amount of companies... that wanted to create more
- 51:27Speaker 4: things here. We're out of time in the first hour,
- 51:31Speaker 4: so maybe I'll talk about it in the second hour.
- 51:33Speaker 4: One of the more interesting conversations right now in the
- 51:35Speaker 4: world of technology is the parts of technology that we
- 51:38Speaker 4: don't make and we don't have in this country that
- 51:41Speaker 4: we are completely controlled by someone else in creating that
- 51:46Speaker 4: we need to fix. And I think that's one of
- 51:48Speaker 4: the things that the manufacturing boom might be able to do.
- 51:50Speaker 4: I'll explain why. Quick break. This is the Craig Collins
- 51:54Speaker 4: filling in edition, as the caller just said, which I
- 51:57Speaker 4: love too, of KSV Mornings with me, actually, Craig Collins,
- 52:00Speaker 4: as one of the two hosts, and Wayne Dolcefino on
- 52:03Speaker 4: Special Assignment.
