- 0:23Speaker 2: You may began dang.
- 0:27Speaker 4: Show.
- 0:29Speaker 5: Come so it comes to month? Isn't just.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I'm a doing Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way
- 0:40Speaker 2: you made Vegan.
- 0:42Speaker 5: Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. If you're listening to the Sports Shock Show,
- 0:48Speaker 5: I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Candy. Good morning till you
- 0:51Speaker 5: out there and listening. Land Glad to be here with
- 0:55Speaker 5: you on this Thursday. We are six days away from Christmas.
- 1:01Speaker 5: Make sure you run out in the next couple of days.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Don't be that last person in the store on Tuesday morning.
- 1:09Speaker 5: Go ahead on today before all the football action, where's
- 1:14Speaker 5: you out? It's gonna be a lot of actions starting tonight.
- 1:18Speaker 5: Denver out in La taking on the Chargers, a division
- 1:23Speaker 5: game that both of these teams need to win. You
- 1:28Speaker 5: gotta win these last couple of games. The Chargers want
- 1:33Speaker 5: to keep their playoff hopes alive. Denver is right there
- 1:38Speaker 5: in front of them in the way. The division has
- 1:42Speaker 5: already been won by the Kansas City Chiefs. But these
- 1:46Speaker 5: teams are fining, fighting for position and for a wild
- 1:51Speaker 5: card spot. However you can, and sometimes you look at
- 1:57Speaker 5: the schedule and try to figure out who you want
- 1:59Speaker 5: to avoid. You know, if you're the Chargers, if you
- 2:03Speaker 5: can get up a spot, maybe that'll keep you from
- 2:05Speaker 5: going to Buffalo. In playing outside, you might be able
- 2:09Speaker 5: to find somewhere warmer or dome. All that kind of
- 2:13Speaker 5: stuff counts. As the season rolls round with three games
- 2:17Speaker 5: left headed to the playoffs. That's Thursday night football tonight,
- 2:22Speaker 5: Denver at the Chargers. This weekend college football playoff, the
- 2:28Speaker 5: first of it's kind for the big boys. It has
- 2:31Speaker 5: been going on in Division two and three forever, but
- 2:36Speaker 5: now we are to a twelve game playoff kicking off
- 2:42Speaker 5: tomorrow with Indiana and Notre Dame. That will be the
- 2:48Speaker 5: first game on tap, and then three games on Saturday
- 2:54Speaker 5: will be played. Those matchups will determine who gets to
- 3:00Speaker 5: go play where in the next round. From twelve to
- 3:05Speaker 5: eight to four. We're just gonna work it down. So
- 3:08Speaker 5: we still have basically another month of college football, and
- 3:14Speaker 5: you're sprinkling the bowl games, and that's the thing that
- 3:17Speaker 5: is suffering overall to me, bowl games we've seen here
- 3:23Speaker 5: just kind of fall out of favor with fans, with players,
- 3:28Speaker 5: guys that feel like they're going to the NFL opting
- 3:31Speaker 5: out of even playing if it's not some significant bowl
- 3:37Speaker 5: like the college Football Playoff. Guys easily just go on
- 3:41Speaker 5: their merry way this time of the year. With all
- 3:45Speaker 5: this going to summer school, a lot of guys graduate
- 3:47Speaker 5: early as well, because it's not like you get those breaks.
- 3:53Speaker 5: Twenty years ago, guys took the summer off. Now it's
- 3:56Speaker 5: just a year round school. You graduate early. But the
- 3:59Speaker 5: college football season is still upon us in a big
- 4:03Speaker 5: way with the College Football Playoffs on Saturday kicking off
- 4:08Speaker 5: at noon. SMU at Penn State will be one of
- 4:13Speaker 5: those games to catch, and you have Clemson Texas as well,
- 4:17Speaker 5: and then Tennessee, Ohio State will be the triple.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Hitter on Saturday.
- 4:23Speaker 5: You throw in that the Chiefs on Saturday will host
- 4:28Speaker 5: Houston and then the backyard fistfight between Pittsburgh and Baltimore,
- 4:35Speaker 5: and that just gets us from today to Saturday night.
- 4:40Speaker 5: So big time football on us here in Georgia. We
- 4:45Speaker 5: just tied up the state championships Monday. Tuesday, Wednesday. Last night,
- 4:51Speaker 5: game went to about twelve thirty. High school games just
- 4:54Speaker 5: do not know how to end. They don't know how
- 4:57Speaker 5: to manage the clock. They seem to have have to.
- 5:00Speaker 5: And you here's the rule you need to change in
- 5:03Speaker 5: high school. If you go down as a cramp, you
- 5:15Speaker 5: should not be allowed back on that series of plays,
- 5:22Speaker 5: meaning that on this series, no matter how long, if
- 5:26Speaker 5: it's a three and out, then next series you get
- 5:28Speaker 5: to go back in. But if that team continues and
- 5:30Speaker 5: takes you on a seven to ten play drive, if
- 5:34Speaker 5: you leave and exit the game claiming cramp, you shouldn't
- 5:42Speaker 5: be able to go back in on that series. Because
- 5:45Speaker 5: last night, just like a lot of college coaches this year,
- 5:49Speaker 5: I know a lot of times would old Miss when
- 5:51Speaker 5: they would play trying to break momentum, a guy would
- 5:56Speaker 5: just be standing and then all of a sudden fall
- 5:58Speaker 5: on the ground. And this was a tactic that was
- 6:02Speaker 5: used in high school over the last three days where
- 6:08Speaker 5: you know, I have to sit on the mic and sing.
- 6:10Speaker 1: This song about how well.
- 6:13Speaker 5: The temperature changed and the young kids and the hydration. Know,
- 6:19Speaker 5: if you left with a cramp for one play and
- 6:22Speaker 5: went back in, you were faking. If you left with
- 6:29Speaker 5: a cramp and you were faking. Now if you left
- 6:34Speaker 5: for a cramp and then the defense settled up and
- 6:36Speaker 5: then you came back the next drive, I can give
- 6:40Speaker 5: you that. But last night, guys just almost like on Q.
- 6:46Speaker 5: I'm with the slow walk with the two trainers looking
- 6:51Speaker 5: like they need to just be walked to Pete Mont Hospital.
- 6:56Speaker 5: One play later, getting a sack dance, doing all kinds
- 7:01Speaker 5: of movement. I'm thinking, I can't believe this, you know,
- 7:05Speaker 5: but they're using the rule. They're just falling on the ground.
- 7:09Speaker 5: Everybody's in on it, the head coach, the coordinators, the
- 7:13Speaker 5: other players, the training staff, the whole both guys, and
- 7:18Speaker 5: I'm sitting here the first time thinking, man, he musta
- 7:22Speaker 5: Lewis Achilles. Gotta be it took him forty five seconds
- 7:28Speaker 5: to walk three yards.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I know he must be hurt.
- 7:33Speaker 5: He gotta go see doctor Andrews over in Birmingham. One
- 7:39Speaker 5: play later, Sack. They're doing the sack dance and they
- 7:45Speaker 5: just got it to me. If that's what you leave,
- 7:48Speaker 5: I feel the fairness of that. You know, how you
- 7:50Speaker 5: correct that, then you as a player can't come back
- 7:53Speaker 5: on this drive. Then we will see how many people
- 7:59Speaker 5: go to grab it. You got to mix the next
- 8:01Speaker 5: your your top player, one of your best starters. How
- 8:04Speaker 5: the mix four or five, six plays in a row
- 8:07Speaker 5: and can't stop him, Then we'll get an answer. But
- 8:09Speaker 5: Big Kenny, the funny man himself is in the building.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Good morning, sir. Don't get mad, Tito. It's the law.
- 8:16Speaker 1: It's the law. And I know there are a lot
- 8:19Speaker 1: of people out there they.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Go, oh, man, it's just gamesmanship. And every time I've
- 8:23Speaker 2: seen it, it's frustrated me. I've spoken up on it before,
- 8:27Speaker 2: and then.
- 8:27Speaker 6: People try and tell me how you know, I'm playing
- 8:29Speaker 6: football and at a high level, you don't understand the strategy,
- 8:32Speaker 6: and them, dude's faking.
- 8:34Speaker 1: That's like cheating.
- 8:35Speaker 2: And there, oh she you don't understand the mentality of
- 8:39Speaker 2: a games Okay, okay, but that dude walked over and
- 8:44Speaker 2: now he's back out there, like you said, and he
- 8:46Speaker 2: got a sack. I'm sure he didn't drink gatorade and
- 8:48Speaker 2: recover that fast.
- 8:50Speaker 5: No, once cramps hit, gatorade doesn't even penetrate. Yeah, you
- 8:54Speaker 5: got to gatorade water, all that stuff is.
- 8:57Speaker 1: You could get an eye.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I was gonna say, you got to put something in
- 8:59Speaker 2: the vane, But the.
- 9:01Speaker 5: IV is gonna take about thirty five minutes to drip that.
- 9:05Speaker 5: So you could do pickle juice, you could do salt tablets,
- 9:08Speaker 5: you can do a lot of things get to manage,
- 9:11Speaker 5: but your energy level at that point would just continue
- 9:13Speaker 5: to go down.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Does the massage gun thing work? Did that do anything? No?
- 9:21Speaker 5: Dive master, remember this, when you're cramping, that's that's more
- 9:25Speaker 5: of knots and things like that.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Pools that you're trying to loosen up.
- 9:30Speaker 5: Cramps, it's just a deficiency of liquid in the muscle.
- 9:36Speaker 5: So you know you gotta hydrate and do things beforehand.
- 9:41Speaker 5: And that's why I say something you can go in
- 9:43Speaker 5: halftime and let get an IV feel back perfect, but gatorade,
- 9:48Speaker 5: those kind of drinks, you'd be better off having some
- 9:51Speaker 5: pickle juice or pedia like to get in. But commands
- 9:53Speaker 5: your Greg the black Panther in the building as well,
- 9:56Speaker 5: and our man, the bad producer who can't wait. Do
- 10:00Speaker 5: we get around to his Atlanta falcon so he can
- 10:04Speaker 5: give us his opinion on their big move going into
- 10:09Speaker 5: du or Die Sunday against the Giants.
- 10:13Speaker 1: But I want to say something about your give me
- 10:16Speaker 1: that church finger.
- 10:17Speaker 6: Now, I'm just gonna it is true though, because once
- 10:20Speaker 6: you go in, it's so funny. If you ever caught
- 10:22Speaker 6: a crap two three plays later, if you go back,
- 10:24Speaker 6: you're gonna catch another crap again because you're not ready.
- 10:27Speaker 6: And I've heard that coca cola is a great dehydration.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Is that?
- 10:32Speaker 6: Is that true? They can help you out stay get
- 10:36Speaker 6: you mean rehydrate, Yeah, to rehydrate you. Is that better
- 10:40Speaker 6: to use than water?
- 10:41Speaker 5: Well, I would have to see when they're talking about
- 10:46Speaker 5: having that, because the thing that you get with coca
- 10:49Speaker 5: cola is the caffeine part in caffeine, a lot of
- 10:52Speaker 5: caffeine is what causes you to dehydrate. So I'm not
- 10:58Speaker 5: sure which part of of it that they are saying. Uh.
- 11:02Speaker 5: And some things are based on, like I say, certain
- 11:06Speaker 5: things like five our energy and thing. Those things are
- 11:09Speaker 5: not really meant to take an exercise because they elevate.
- 11:13Speaker 5: They're more to give you energy to be alert. Yes, yes,
- 11:16Speaker 5: and just a day to day but that you know,
- 11:19Speaker 5: I remember, do you remember the list that you gave
- 11:21Speaker 5: us with the drinks? The number one drinks for about
- 11:25Speaker 5: skim milk was number one milk.
- 11:27Speaker 2: And I'm not saying that soda was but this is
- 11:32Speaker 2: post Yeah that's what I said. I'm not saying I
- 11:34Speaker 2: don't know about actually while we're doing the game now
- 11:38Speaker 2: this is I'm laying there on the floor in my
- 11:42Speaker 2: T shirt, sweating and going oooh, well, what a day.
- 11:46Speaker 2: And then I have mal soda to kick me back
- 11:49Speaker 2: into the game.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:51Speaker 5: I've never had anyone in when I'm cramping hand me
- 11:53Speaker 5: or coke.
- 11:54Speaker 7: Well but no, never man, never mind, I said, never mind.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I don't think that's what they called it.
- 12:07Speaker 5: I caught myself, sir, I don't think that the brit
- 12:11Speaker 5: the British call it a coke. But we'll be back
- 12:15Speaker 5: with more to Sports Shock Show after this.
- 12:18Speaker 8: Oh up, he's all that just breed all this?
- 12:23Speaker 3: You know what to do?
- 12:29Speaker 9: John Bowl, Wayne Board of the Sports John Show with
- 12:32Speaker 9: Wayne Dantius coming up next.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Oh, they're gonna go.
- 12:37Speaker 10: But returning military vets. They've served our country at home
- 12:41Speaker 10: and tobroad. They've slept in tanks, foxols and even out
- 12:45Speaker 10: in the weather.

- 12:49Speaker 1: chuck Man of honor.

- 13:53Speaker 1: We can change that. Learn how it Belonging begins with
- 13:56Speaker 1: us dot Org. Brought to you by the AD Council
- 14:00Speaker 1: welcome out, and.
- 14:04Speaker 15: I never realized that I'd be taking care of a
- 14:08Speaker 15: two year old and a nine year old on my own.
- 14:10Speaker 15: I think men can be a little stubborn sometimes, where
- 14:13Speaker 15: pride gets in the way and they may want the help,
- 14:16Speaker 15: they may not know how to ask. With my traditions,
- 14:20Speaker 15: with the family support in line, and just with my
- 14:23Speaker 15: mind frame, I was able to turn a negative into
- 14:27Speaker 15: a positive. I knew I needed more tools in my
- 14:30Speaker 15: toolbox to take care of these little girls that had
- 14:33Speaker 15: just lost their mother. It's time for me to be
- 14:35Speaker 15: that father that I knew.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I could be.
- 14:37Speaker 15: I think just being that good role model as well.
- 14:41Speaker 1: That model's good.
- 14:41Speaker 16: Behavior in front of them, going to work every day,
- 14:45Speaker 16: coming home and being able to put on that smile.
- 14:47Speaker 16: The biggest reward about being a dad is sitting back
- 14:51Speaker 16: and watching your kids be happy.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Never stop being a dad.
- 14:56Speaker 17: That's dedication.
- 14:57Speaker 11: Find out more on Fatherhood dot gov.
- 15:00Speaker 18: Brought to you by the US Department of Health and
- 15:02Speaker 18: Human Services and the AD Council.
- 15:06Speaker 1: And now back to the sports. John Wayne Candy.
- 15:12Speaker 10: The Jock of the Day is sponsored by Mattress Heroes
- 15:15Speaker 10: USA dot com.
- 15:16Speaker 1: The Sleep You Deserve at a price you can afford. No, no, no, no.
- 15:20Speaker 19: It's time to present the jock of the day on
- 15:22Speaker 19: the Sports Jock Show's taken it to a completely different
- 15:25Speaker 19: level this year where we highlight an appolete that has
- 15:28Speaker 19: taken their game to the next level.
- 15:42Speaker 20: Were wet.
- 15:52Speaker 5: To come from my hope walk back to the sport
- 15:54Speaker 5: Shock Show. I'm in the Sports Shock Wayne Candy. Speaking
- 15:57Speaker 5: of going to the next level, Michael Vick, former teammate
- 16:02Speaker 5: of mine, has decided to step away from the booth
- 16:06Speaker 5: and follow in the path that has been blazed on
- 16:10Speaker 5: the college level by Dion Sanders, where you basically go
- 16:18Speaker 5: to coaching without ever really coaching, coming the head coach
- 16:25Speaker 5: at Norfolk State right around the corner from his home.
- 16:32Speaker 1: All you people out there that.
- 16:34Speaker 5: Wanted to throw eggs because you're racist, and you're just
- 16:38Speaker 5: throwing eggs at somebody like a JJ Reddick. We're getting
- 16:42Speaker 5: hired with the Lakers with old coaching experience, just say
- 16:47Speaker 5: I'm sorry, it's okay.
- 16:50Speaker 2: No man, no, I ain't no racist. Mike Mike doing it.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Mike got some experience, man, He was in the he
- 16:59Speaker 2: was in the you in the SF man, Mike got.
- 17:06Speaker 5: Mike vic living long enough to reach an area era
- 17:10Speaker 5: of sports where you no longer have to even be
- 17:15Speaker 5: a coach. You canzz have a brand name to draw attention,
- 17:23Speaker 5: to be a recruiter, to be the face of the organization.
- 17:28Speaker 5: In Norfolk State has decided they're going to take a
- 17:30Speaker 5: page from Jackson State and see if they can get
- 17:34Speaker 5: Mike Vic to make it cool to come to Norfolk State.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Eddie George is down at Tennessee State. The only thing
- 17:43Speaker 5: with Eddie and even Prime Prime did do some high
- 17:47Speaker 5: school coaching when his sons got there. He was the coordinator,
- 17:50Speaker 5: but never really established yourself in any other kind of
- 17:53Speaker 5: coaching ability. But with the increase of money at colleges,
- 17:58Speaker 5: now you can have so many coaches. The head coach
- 18:01Speaker 5: is more your recruiter than anything, the brand marketing face.
- 18:09Speaker 2: We're in the business of college sports now more than
- 18:14Speaker 2: ever before. I mean, it's always been a business, but
- 18:17Speaker 2: it's been a business that was predicated on being academic athletics.
- 18:23Speaker 2: But now it is one hundred percent. Look, we're gonna
- 18:27Speaker 2: have a pitch man. We got a marketing team, we
- 18:31Speaker 2: got a whole marketing division, and we're going to go
- 18:36Speaker 2: out and sell image we're gonna sell energy, We're going
- 18:44Speaker 2: to manufacture if we have to all of those things
- 18:48Speaker 2: to get the best talent. Because now we don't have
- 18:52Speaker 2: to wait on the talent. Now we don't have to
- 18:54Speaker 2: wait for them to clear some sort of if they're
- 18:56Speaker 2: not happy there, I can go and higher at them.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Come on, produce it.
- 19:00Speaker 5: With these guys, you instantly get the brands that they
- 19:06Speaker 5: are already under.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Yes, you do in your in your program.
- 19:10Speaker 5: Ah, you bring that brand, that Mike vic brand if
- 19:14Speaker 5: he was with Nike or Adids or whatever, that comes
- 19:18Speaker 5: with him and can be easily transfer transferred to your program.
- 19:23Speaker 6: And it gives a lot of visual and like you said,
- 19:27Speaker 6: get the likeness. That's the main thing. That's where the
- 19:30Speaker 6: n IL come from, is the likeness. And now that's
- 19:33Speaker 6: gonna be able to a lot of the schools that's
- 19:35Speaker 6: not getting the big dollars. But when you have a
- 19:38Speaker 6: name like like you said with Michael Vick, you can
- 19:41Speaker 6: be able to have that extra money where you don't
- 19:43Speaker 6: have the boosters that some of the HBC used, like
- 19:45Speaker 6: because you can hear it's what we were talking about.
- 19:48Speaker 6: The boosters that a lot of other schools they add
- 19:50Speaker 6: in and they a, I need three million dollars to
- 19:52Speaker 6: go get this player with a lot of the hbc US.
- 19:55Speaker 6: You you have that, but you it's not like I
- 19:58Speaker 6: don't know, I'm not gonna write write that. So you
- 20:00Speaker 6: have a person like Michael Vick who's bringing the brand,
- 20:03Speaker 6: who's bringing Madison Ave and bringing that Donalds along, and
- 20:07Speaker 6: you don't really have to go to your alumni.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Well, let me let me get the commands. Your commands
- 20:11Speaker 1: you do? You? What do you think about this hire
- 20:14Speaker 1: in its totality?
- 20:17Speaker 21: It's I think it'll it sounds like a good hire
- 20:22Speaker 21: right now. Two, it's it's a it's a hometown a
- 20:27Speaker 21: hometown hero of sorts, and like you said, it is
- 20:31Speaker 21: following the the blueprint that Dion Sanders had. But I
- 20:37Speaker 21: think the thing that's the thing that's different with with
- 20:43Speaker 21: Deon Sanders and the other pro players becoming coaches at
- 20:46Speaker 21: the HBCUs is that him as the the personality that
- 20:54Speaker 21: that brand that we've known all this time, me and
- 20:58Speaker 21: being more outgoing. I see that it kind of in
- 21:02Speaker 21: contrast to Michael Vick and even Eddie George, even though
- 21:07Speaker 21: Tennessee State had had a good season this year.
- 21:11Speaker 1: But if they're if they're looking to.
- 21:14Speaker 21: You know, we just want to we want to coach
- 21:16Speaker 21: and want to mentor young men that kind of thing. Okay,
- 21:21Speaker 21: it's fine that they're there, but if they're expecting to
- 21:24Speaker 21: follow the path of Deon Sanders to eventually go to.
- 21:29Speaker 1: A Power five.
- 21:30Speaker 21: School to be a head coach, I think it's going
- 21:34Speaker 21: to be harder for them than they realize if that's
- 21:37Speaker 21: what they're trying to do.
- 21:41Speaker 1: The established reality.
- 21:42Speaker 2: We just spoke that Michael Vick, like some of these
- 21:46Speaker 2: other NFL athletes have no coaching experience.
- 21:51Speaker 1: They aren't coaches currently.
- 21:53Speaker 2: So if they lack that experience, then they're primarily figureheads.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Who's pulling the strings? Who are the people that are
- 22:02Speaker 2: making the coaching decisions? Now they go in as symbol staffs,
- 22:06Speaker 2: But I'm not a coach, how do I really know?
- 22:08Speaker 2: You know, I'm picking my people that I trust and
- 22:10Speaker 2: my friends. And is are we risking the quality of
- 22:15Speaker 2: some of these games or some of these programs or
- 22:19Speaker 2: is it just basically we're rolling the dice? On man,
- 22:21Speaker 2: we got enough money to get some quality teams on
- 22:25Speaker 2: the field.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Well at this level.
- 22:27Speaker 5: And Dawson Odams was the head coach the last four
- 22:30Speaker 5: years he was fifteen and thirty. So if you know,
- 22:33Speaker 5: for the state, it's worth the gamble of those players
- 22:37Speaker 5: that Michael Vic can be able to grab totally based
- 22:42Speaker 5: on his popularity and feel like being around him and
- 22:47Speaker 5: his orbit can take them some places that they might
- 22:51Speaker 5: not have been able to go. So we have now,
- 22:54Speaker 5: like I said, we have reached the level of college sports.
- 22:58Speaker 5: And if this is what a high school higher, there's
- 23:01Speaker 5: no question.
- 23:03Speaker 1: You can hire.
- 23:04Speaker 5: You know, Teddy Bridgewaters just won a state championship down
- 23:07Speaker 5: in Miami. They made the head coach. You see a
- 23:10Speaker 5: lot of guys. Philip Rivers is a head coach in
- 23:13Speaker 5: over in Alabama. I think they won like ten and
- 23:15Speaker 5: two this year. It's just a college. You would have
- 23:19Speaker 5: thought maybe Mike had went and coached his high school
- 23:22Speaker 5: for a year or two and then we went and
- 23:24Speaker 5: got him. It's not whether you think it's the knowledge.
- 23:27Speaker 5: Actually it's just really the management of running all these people.
- 23:32Speaker 5: I talked to high school coaches all the time when
- 23:34Speaker 5: they first get the job, and most of them didn't
- 23:36Speaker 5: know they was responsible for what goes on in the
- 23:39Speaker 5: concession stand.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Like which is which is why you end you food.
- 23:47Speaker 5: We thought it was about XS and o's and somebody
- 23:49Speaker 5: knocking on your door about the mascot.
- 23:52Speaker 2: And that's why we end up with baked like we are.
- 23:55Speaker 1: And we'll be back more to Sports Shock Show right

- 27:06Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Swat Shock Shock. I'm the Swatch
- 27:08Speaker 1: Shock Wing gin Thig.
- 27:09Speaker 5: Good morning to you out there Thursday night football Bow Knicks.
- 27:14Speaker 5: I don't I gotta discuss this. Can I say war
- 27:18Speaker 5: eagle because there is some war eagle.
- 27:20Speaker 2: It's a lot of fathers, but then it's some ducks
- 27:24Speaker 2: a lot of fathers war. So it war duck because
- 27:28Speaker 2: eagle duck eagle duck.
- 27:32Speaker 5: Bo Nick's doing what a lot of quarterbacks now are
- 27:35Speaker 5: definitely gonna continue to do. Loved Auburn, Raised Auburn. I
- 27:41Speaker 5: played with his daddy at Auburn. Patrick Knicks bow came along,
- 27:47Speaker 5: gave his four years. He was part of the COVID
- 27:49Speaker 5: which extended it, and then he left. He graduated, went
- 27:52Speaker 5: to Oregon. Came a first round pick, a gritty quarterback
- 27:56Speaker 5: that just needed to learn how to throw. And that's
- 28:00Speaker 5: what he was able to go out to UH Oregon
- 28:03Speaker 5: and learn to do and now looks like he's on
- 28:05Speaker 5: pace to even possibly be the rookie of the Year
- 28:09Speaker 5: in the NFL.
- 28:10Speaker 1: But they take it on the Chargers, Justin Herbert and
- 28:14Speaker 1: the LA Chargers in.
- 28:15Speaker 5: A division game and a game of trying to keep
- 28:19Speaker 5: pace to grab that wild card spot that is tonight
- 28:24Speaker 5: Chiefs versus Texans Saturday, Stealers versus Ravens Saturday, and then
- 28:31Speaker 5: on Christmas Day, those four teams are going to p Diddy.
- 28:37Speaker 1: They're gonna switch it up. Take that.
- 28:39Speaker 5: Take that, y'all, y'all. Get that, y'all, y'all, they'll come
- 28:42Speaker 5: to you later. What I mean, they're gonna switch it up.
- 28:45Speaker 5: You know the did he gonna switch it up?
- 28:47Speaker 2: Uh?
- 28:47Speaker 5: And then the Chiefs gonna take on the Stellers and
- 28:50Speaker 5: the Ravens are gonna take on the Texans. That's fair.
- 28:56Speaker 5: So that's how that's gonna go down. But first things first,
- 28:59Speaker 5: this weekend with the NFL, and this is what I thought,
- 29:03Speaker 5: Thursday Night Football and we're gonna move on from this
- 29:06Speaker 5: to the Falcons. I thought Thursday foot night football was
- 29:09Speaker 5: done with because of Saturday games. I thought, when the
- 29:12Speaker 5: Saturday opened up, where the NFL could start. Now you
- 29:15Speaker 5: can bring a little more fairness back to guys don't
- 29:18Speaker 5: have to work on a three day week. And so
- 29:23Speaker 5: I'm very surprised, but I know they have sold the
- 29:26Speaker 5: whole Thursday night package to Prime. But this has been
- 29:30Speaker 5: a great time with three games left, to extend that
- 29:34Speaker 5: and see if you can get Prime to start holding
- 29:37Speaker 5: these games on Saturday since Saturday is open, and let
- 29:42Speaker 5: these players get the best out of the players, because,
- 29:45Speaker 5: as I said, on a three day work week, a
- 29:47Speaker 5: little elbow spring, the little injuries. I'm not talking about
- 29:51Speaker 5: the guys that really hurt themselves about things that with
- 29:54Speaker 5: another forty eight hours of rest, you could have maximized
- 30:00Speaker 5: what you needed out of it. Now you got to
- 30:02Speaker 5: just deal with Uh, it's gonna be sixty two.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Percent and we Prime. You already sold me that little package. No,
- 30:09Speaker 1: I'm saying, and I want you to be your best self.
- 30:14Speaker 1: You think that was an accident, what selling me the package?
- 30:16Speaker 21: And like they the NFL meant to say, Okay, Thursday
- 30:21Speaker 21: weeks one through fifteen, but it just said Thursday Green
- 30:25Speaker 21: Now emasone's like it's every Thursday.
- 30:28Speaker 1: It was reason right.
- 30:29Speaker 5: It was no agree because it started off just really
- 30:32Speaker 5: Thursdays in November. It was like four Thursday games in November,
- 30:38Speaker 5: and then it went eight games. We're gonna do four
- 30:41Speaker 5: Thursdays in October, four games in November with the uniform,
- 30:46Speaker 5: and then.
- 30:47Speaker 2: We'll see and all of this on came with right
- 30:51Speaker 2: and all of that as the football consumer, that's not
- 30:53Speaker 2: my concern. All right, I get to the register it
- 30:57Speaker 2: right now for twelve ninety five. Now, the fact that
- 30:59Speaker 2: it's eighty three, it's TV.
- 31:07Speaker 6: Don't set up another night for the sports book. Don't
- 31:10Speaker 6: need that extra night.
- 31:11Speaker 21: There's a rule that like every team has to play
- 31:13Speaker 21: at least one Thursday game.
- 31:16Speaker 5: Well, I'm just getting you the best chance for your team.
- 31:19Speaker 5: These two teams, with two more days of rest, you
- 31:22Speaker 5: get a better uh to me, product of something where
- 31:27Speaker 5: something nagging could have healed up. Now that nagging injury.
- 31:31Speaker 5: By the middle of the second I'm having to go
- 31:34Speaker 5: over here and get somebody to rub it each play
- 31:37Speaker 5: to even make it work. It is hard and I
- 31:39Speaker 5: will always continue to let you know, for a lot
- 31:42Speaker 5: of people, when you play a game on Sunday, you
- 31:46Speaker 5: typically Thursday is the first day you really practice again.
- 31:52Speaker 5: Monday you come in, you watch the film, you lift weights.
- 31:55Speaker 5: Tuesday is your day off. Wednesday is usually what we
- 31:59Speaker 5: call shorts, and we just kind of point and fights
- 32:03Speaker 5: break out because you was going too hard, like it's Wednesday, bro,
- 32:09Speaker 5: Why are you sweating kind of thing? We were just
- 32:12Speaker 5: out here to do a little You slapped my knuckle
- 32:15Speaker 5: and my knuckle was swollen. What's going on with you?
- 32:19Speaker 5: Those when most of the fights happened because you must
- 32:22Speaker 5: be crazy. You fresh, you ain't played all season. Now
- 32:25Speaker 5: you back want to get into the mix and slap
- 32:27Speaker 5: my hand. Now we're fighting because you see that my
- 32:29Speaker 5: knuckle is hurt, right, and I ain't got no shot
- 32:32Speaker 5: in it. I gotta wait the Sunday, he say, won't
- 32:34Speaker 5: give it to me till Sunday. I can't wait the Sunday.
- 32:36Speaker 5: You be sitting there waiting. I could, like, I guess
- 32:38Speaker 5: drug fiends, man.
- 32:40Speaker 2: I wouldn't know anything about that. I think one of
- 32:45Speaker 2: the things that I think is almost most frustrating about
- 32:49Speaker 2: some of these Thursday night games, especially this late in
- 32:51Speaker 2: the season is those nagging injuries that haven't taken you
- 32:56Speaker 2: out of the game but completely recovered. Now it even
- 33:01Speaker 2: gets more aggravated and you're moving deeper into the season,
- 33:04Speaker 2: and now it makes you ineffective in the playoffs. You know,
- 33:08Speaker 2: that one thing that if I'd been able to take
- 33:10Speaker 2: that Thursday night off, that ankle wouldn't have been a factor.
- 33:13Speaker 2: But now I'm out in the first quarter of this game.
- 33:16Speaker 2: If Patrick Mahomes had to play to night, yeah, that's
- 33:19Speaker 2: exactly what I was thinking.
- 33:21Speaker 5: See, they already shouldn't be playing right here. Year a
- 33:28Speaker 5: lot of people saying just don't play him even Saturday.
- 33:30Speaker 5: So you know tonight, all that he tough and trying
- 33:35Speaker 5: to they wouldn't have let him go. It wouldn't have
- 33:38Speaker 5: been worth it. And that's what I mean. TJ Watt.
- 33:40Speaker 5: The same thing for the Steelers. They had to play tonight,
- 33:44Speaker 5: it would have been he would have been ruled out
- 33:48Speaker 5: and that's what I mean.
- 33:49Speaker 1: But he can.
- 33:50Speaker 5: But the forty eight hours between now and Saturday, it's
- 33:54Speaker 5: a lot of healing going on in that in that moment,
- 33:57Speaker 5: mental healing that I'm gonna deal with this when I
- 34:00Speaker 5: play the Falcons have once again found themselves an escape goat,
- 34:06Speaker 5: as they typically do around here in Atlanta with their sports,
- 34:10Speaker 5: there quickly to need someone to be the face of
- 34:15Speaker 5: their failure. This time it goes to Kirk Cousins, the
- 34:18Speaker 5: Falcons quarterback, who is the only person mentioned in Why
- 34:24Speaker 5: the Falcons have Woes.
- 34:27Speaker 1: They are seven and seven at this point.
- 34:31Speaker 5: They have a slight chance, about a thirty three percent
- 34:34Speaker 5: chance of making the playoffs if they can just get
- 34:37Speaker 5: Tampa to stumble and win out. They're playing the Giants
- 34:42Speaker 5: this Sunday. Kirk Cousins has not.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Played that well in the last four to five games.
- 34:49Speaker 5: Only thrown from one touchdown, and he has become the
- 34:52Speaker 5: guy they're going to put this on and say, well,
- 34:56Speaker 5: it's Kirk Cousins. A lot of pressure put on my
- 35:00Speaker 5: Michael Pennix Junior in this time, not the way I
- 35:06Speaker 5: would have gone, not the way I would have voted
- 35:08Speaker 5: in the locker room. With so much on the line,
- 35:12Speaker 5: with three games, we're playing the Giants. A lot of
- 35:16Speaker 5: times you just need to get right game, and the
- 35:20Speaker 5: Giants seemed to be one of them teams that maybe
- 35:23Speaker 5: Kirk can just get right against and get a little momentum,
- 35:26Speaker 5: but the move is made now and for the amount
- 35:30Speaker 5: of money you're paying Kirk the length.
- 35:32Speaker 1: He is in his career.
- 35:35Speaker 5: Not sure how you walk this back Barring Michael Pennick
- 35:38Speaker 5: being hurt, Michael Pennick playing bad and then having to
- 35:43Speaker 5: turn back to Kirk Cousins, that storyline doesn't work. Michael
- 35:48Speaker 5: Penni's getting hurt and having to put Kirk Cousins. That's
- 35:51Speaker 5: just football. But Michael Pennix now the leader and the
- 35:55Speaker 5: lasting for I let the guys chime in some of this.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Michael Pennix is relying that he is a better athlete,
- 36:04Speaker 5: he's younger. The Falcons do not have good skill players,
- 36:14Speaker 5: say the Falcons do not have good skills players. They
- 36:22Speaker 5: do not have explosive players. They have Jon Robinson and
- 36:31Speaker 5: if you was waiting on me to say another name,
- 36:34Speaker 5: you would you don't watch football. London is a good receiver,
- 36:41Speaker 5: but he's not an explosive guy.
- 36:44Speaker 1: He's not a guy.
- 36:45Speaker 5: When you watch the Falcons, they don't get more than
- 36:48Speaker 5: the play.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Could you say that one more time? Which part about
- 36:55Speaker 1: the Falcons they don't have They don't have any explosive.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Have good skill So you're saying they don't have good
- 37:02Speaker 2: skill players. Basically, no, they don't have explosive none, none.
- 37:08Speaker 2: They don't have a guy.
- 37:10Speaker 5: I sometimes forget that the Pitts Boy is even on
- 37:13Speaker 5: the They don't get anything from the tight end boy.
- 37:17Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying that.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Those those are the things you know when we talk
- 37:20Speaker 2: when we talk about when we talk about the Falcons,
- 37:23Speaker 2: and just like you started this segment saying they look
- 37:27Speaker 2: for a face of their failure. Right now, all of
- 37:30Speaker 2: the weight is on the shoulders of Kirk Cousins, but
- 37:34Speaker 2: we're calling him the Pitts boy. Nobody really knows him.
- 37:40Speaker 2: They say we got b Jon Robinson. He the best
- 37:44Speaker 2: of what we've got available. Now, his explosiveness sometimes be
- 37:50Speaker 2: predicated on what's going on around him.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Well, we'll talk about on the side of the break.
- 37:55Speaker 5: But when I say explosive, they don't have anybody that
- 37:58Speaker 5: makes the defense back up. So even Bijeon doesn't have
- 38:04Speaker 5: a lot of running room because the secondary of the
- 38:06Speaker 5: safeties don't have fear of people running by them. They
- 38:12Speaker 5: feel like they can catch up with anyone the Falcons
- 38:15Speaker 5: put out there, which causes a lot of congestion. And
- 38:19Speaker 5: when you're old like Kirk Cousins and you barely can
- 38:22Speaker 5: move coming off that Achilles. You start throwing a lot
- 38:26Speaker 5: of interceptions. But he is the face of the failure
- 38:29Speaker 5: that Atlanta loves to find. But now we got it
- 38:32Speaker 5: in seven. We got another Michael in there. Now though
- 38:35Speaker 5: we got another micaels seven and seven roster. If you
- 38:38Speaker 5: ask me, we'll be back more to Sports Jock Show
- 38:41Speaker 5: right after this.
- 38:43Speaker 25: You're gonna be coming out of vip Mama because you
- 38:45Speaker 25: look like their Momae.

- 39:05Speaker 1: But we do have one question for the veterans listening.
- 39:08Speaker 1: When is the last time you reached out for help?
- 39:12Speaker 1: If you or someone you know needs resources, whether it's

- 40:29Speaker 28: Hi, I'm Ryan Blaney, a third generational race car driver,
- 40:32Speaker 28: and we dedicate a lot of our time to going
- 40:34Speaker 28: as fast as possible my Grandpa Lou is the reason
- 40:36Speaker 28: why my dad and I started racing, and I'm really
- 40:38Speaker 28: proud to follow on his tracks. But when my grandpa
- 40:41Speaker 28: was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, it was a very unexpected bump
- 40:43Speaker 28: in the road for us. I've learned a lot on
- 40:45Speaker 28: this journey with my Grandpa Lou, and the memories of
- 40:48Speaker 28: my grandpa will always be with me. It's important to
- 40:50Speaker 28: notice if older family members are acting differently, experiencing problems
- 40:53Speaker 28: with their memory, or having trouble with routine tasks. Talking
- 40:56Speaker 28: about Alzheimer's can be really tough, but if you notice something,

- 42:02Speaker 5: Welcome back to this sport Shock show, this Sport Shock
- 42:05Speaker 5: Wing getting good morning to you. We left talking about
- 42:07Speaker 5: the Atlanta Falcons, Michael Pennock's in for Kirk Cousins. Not
- 42:13Speaker 5: the way that the Sports Shock would have done it,
- 42:15Speaker 5: not the way that I would have liked it handled.
- 42:18Speaker 5: As a team, I called a game last night, Grayson
- 42:24Speaker 5: thirteen and one taking on Juju Lewis and the Carrollton
- 42:29Speaker 5: who were fourteen and oh they number four in the country.
- 42:33Speaker 5: During the week, when we interviewed the Grayson coach, thirty
- 42:36Speaker 5: year old young kid Centavious Bryant, we asked him about
- 42:41Speaker 5: Jonathan's Stafford, their top receiver. He said he wasn't going
- 42:47Speaker 5: to be available.
- 42:49Speaker 1: He was hurt.
- 42:51Speaker 5: Said high school. You don't have to give an injury report.
- 42:56Speaker 5: Third play of the game, Junzan Stafford caught one about
- 43:02Speaker 5: twelve catches on the night in the game, to the
- 43:06Speaker 5: point we had to I had to go back through
- 43:08Speaker 5: my notes and put his name back on the chart.
- 43:10Speaker 5: I had to put some tape over his name, like, Okay,
- 43:13Speaker 5: he's not playing. I said that to say I would
- 43:18Speaker 5: have taken Kurt and Mike in the room. Look, Kurt,
- 43:21Speaker 5: you're starting this game. It's the Giants. We're gonna give
- 43:23Speaker 5: you a quarter maybe half to show us what you
- 43:26Speaker 5: can do. If I don't see nothing, We're going with Mike,
- 43:30Speaker 5: but we're gonna play shadow games like Bill Belichick.
- 43:35Speaker 1: The Giant's gonna have to wonder toll Sunday.
- 43:41Speaker 5: I don't care if they just you know, I'm quite
- 43:44Speaker 5: sure they always are putting a little bit of Michael
- 43:47Speaker 5: Pennix melm up from the preseason, but we gonna have
- 43:51Speaker 5: him like really not No, I'm not gonna tell you Wednesday.
- 43:56Speaker 1: How does that help me a lot?
- 43:57Speaker 5: How does how does me telling you what I'm gonna
- 43:59Speaker 5: do to you on Sunday helped me as a team?
- 44:02Speaker 5: Please explain that. And that's why I said I would
- 44:04Speaker 5: have handled it differently. I would have went with Kirk
- 44:07Speaker 5: Sawey was going but letting him know, Hey, so you
- 44:10Speaker 5: ain't surprised, y'all come out on him that second third
- 44:15Speaker 5: and three and out and you see Pinnix over that
- 44:18Speaker 5: woman up, you get your baseball ain't hurt.
- 44:23Speaker 2: So you're not surprised when another guy shows up. Just
- 44:25Speaker 2: know that I think we should.
- 44:28Speaker 1: You feel me.
- 44:29Speaker 6: That's how I'm not telling you that that is that
- 44:33Speaker 6: you you are correct because they saw of played checkers
- 44:36Speaker 6: instead of chess. This was a checker move where it
- 44:39Speaker 6: should have been a chess move because the fact, as
- 44:42Speaker 6: you said, the film and a lot of other things,
- 44:44Speaker 6: I was wanting that to happen on Monday night against
- 44:47Speaker 6: the Raiders. I was when I was saying that if
- 44:49Speaker 6: we're gonna this is the Raiders that we know that
- 44:52Speaker 6: they're doing what they're doing.
- 44:53Speaker 1: They got their own problems.
- 44:55Speaker 6: Monday night would have been great instead of having Curt
- 44:58Speaker 6: out there for you, because we don't really know Kurt
- 45:00Speaker 6: maybe still hurt.
- 45:00Speaker 1: That's one question that you got.
- 45:02Speaker 6: And as you said before, we're missing a lot of
- 45:05Speaker 6: explosion out there. And I would have, like you said,
- 45:09Speaker 6: I would have made him think. It's just like when
- 45:12Speaker 6: back I always go back to Alabama Georgia game when
- 45:14Speaker 6: they bought in tagged bought in tour and it just
- 45:20Speaker 6: caught Georgia off and you hadn't prepared for a left
- 45:22Speaker 6: handed quarterback.
- 45:24Speaker 5: And that switched the whole game and the big part
- 45:26Speaker 5: of it. I've said here on the show plenty times
- 45:30Speaker 5: that back up for a week or two. He catches
- 45:32Speaker 5: people off surprise because nobody knows.
- 45:34Speaker 1: What he's doing. He goes to a guy.
- 45:36Speaker 5: You ever noticed that the number one receiver gets very
- 45:39Speaker 5: few balls when he goes in. You know why, because
- 45:42Speaker 5: he hasn't practiced with him. When he goes in the
- 45:45Speaker 5: hold of the practice, they put the third receiver in
- 45:47Speaker 5: as the number one receiver, so that's.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Who he knows.
- 45:50Speaker 5: The feed the ball too. You cut him off guard.
- 45:54Speaker 5: And that's really how I would have attacked the Kirk Cousins.
- 45:58Speaker 5: For whatever reason, changing cities is always a big thing
- 46:03Speaker 5: to even playing with. When he was in Minnesota, he
- 46:05Speaker 5: had toys in the bag, y'all forget that he was,
- 46:11Speaker 5: you know, was explosive.
- 46:13Speaker 1: He had some guys justin Jefferson, he had.
- 46:18Speaker 5: Steeling and he had guys that, Hey, man, I just
- 46:23Speaker 5: need to get it to him, and you know how
- 46:25Speaker 5: that feels.
- 46:26Speaker 1: I just need to get it to him. Do the
- 46:28Speaker 1: rest the Cousins play with a d well. I think
- 46:34Speaker 1: he may. I'm not.
- 46:37Speaker 5: I'm just saying, but you come here to Atlanta, you
- 46:39Speaker 5: don't have a dig you don't have a dealing, you
- 46:43Speaker 5: don't have depth. Well nobody has, Justin Jefferson, but you
- 46:47Speaker 5: get with him my point. B Kenny said he had
- 46:49Speaker 5: a couple of comments.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Yeah, our lawyer.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Online listeners have been making comments. Uh, we have Coubaza
- 46:56Speaker 2: with Grand rising as always. Phil Cook says, good morning,
- 47:00Speaker 2: good friend, mister Benny Hubbitt says, good morning, and that
- 47:03Speaker 2: sports jock, you were speaking the truth when you were
- 47:05Speaker 2: speaking about the Falcons, and Uncle Charlie said that the
- 47:08Speaker 2: bad producers said it last week. Goodbye, mister Cousins, and
- 47:13Speaker 2: in my opinion, he wasted that. Looking to the future,
- 47:15Speaker 2: own Kirk Cousins, he could have just picked a make
- 47:18Speaker 2: a million winning lottery tickets. If you gonna predict the future,
- 47:22Speaker 2: be useful, Sir noster domas, Yeah, we all kind of
- 47:26Speaker 2: kind of took a roll at those dice.
- 47:29Speaker 5: Yeah, but seven on seven, as I said, the Falcons
- 47:32Speaker 5: to have a chance, really feel like they got to
- 47:34Speaker 5: win these last three games and get the ten and
- 47:36Speaker 5: seven and before the season, if you ask people to predict,
- 47:41Speaker 5: that's probably the number they gave you. Ten and seven,
- 47:44Speaker 5: nine and eight. That's the personnel that's on the field
- 47:48Speaker 5: Kyle Pitts has really come into and it might be,
- 47:52Speaker 5: like I said, Sam Bradford, maybe the city of Atlanta
- 47:56Speaker 5: is not the place for Kyle Pitts. The city of
- 48:00Speaker 5: Atlanta is not really demanding. And that's all I'm trying
- 48:05Speaker 5: to ever get my Falcon fans to do. Demand that
- 48:10Speaker 5: the whole team. The Jets need the same thing the
- 48:18Speaker 5: Cowboys need the same thing the man that the whole
- 48:22Speaker 5: team produce. The Cowboys only want the Stars to produce.
- 48:29Speaker 5: I want Michael Parsons to get all the sacks. I
- 48:33Speaker 5: want City Lamb to catch all the touchdowns. It's six
- 48:37Speaker 5: other receivers and the receiver. You don't meet, no requirements
- 48:40Speaker 5: from them, And that's I'm thinking about. I'm just talking
- 48:44Speaker 5: about as those are the teams that win with everybody
- 48:47Speaker 5: feel like they gotta go produce. The Jets are kind
- 48:50Speaker 5: of like the Falcons where they want everything to come
- 48:53Speaker 5: from the quarterback. Every catch, every hell mary, every inner exception,
- 49:01Speaker 5: everything supposed to come from the quarterback position. And they
- 49:05Speaker 5: don't demand anything else from anyone unless it comes with
- 49:12Speaker 5: a big paycheck. And then it's like they remember that
- 49:15Speaker 5: person name if you give him some money, yeah, but
- 49:20Speaker 5: other than that they don't really have the man's on
- 49:22Speaker 5: the rest of the team. We'll be back more to
- 49:23Speaker 5: Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 49:29Speaker 29: He's can Show you.
- 49:32Speaker 5: Can come.

- 52:47Speaker 1: Welcome back to this sport shock.
- 52:48Speaker 5: Tell him the sports shock, Wayne Candy, Kenny, the funny man, himself,
- 52:52Speaker 5: the bad producer, command you Greg all in the studio today, guys.
- 52:58Speaker 5: The great Trinity rod And the twenty two year old
- 53:01Speaker 5: soccer star having a lot of words to say about
- 53:06Speaker 5: her father Dennis Rodman, going as far in an interview
- 53:10Speaker 5: to say he's not a dad.
- 53:15Speaker 1: We see this a lot in our society. Now, what
- 53:20Speaker 1: is the motivation?
- 53:23Speaker 5: What do you think the person who needs to do
- 53:26Speaker 5: all this is trying to accomplish by In a sense,
- 53:32Speaker 5: it's outing their relationship, on a parent, on of a
- 53:39Speaker 5: wife or husband. What is the purpose of Trinity needing
- 53:44Speaker 5: to take her and her family down this world?
- 53:50Speaker 2: Personally, I speculate that it has something to do with
- 53:54Speaker 2: the fact that I'm looking for some sort of support,
- 54:02Speaker 2: an endorsement of my side of the story. I'm looking
- 54:07Speaker 2: for someone to possibly believe me, because now you my daddy.
- 54:18Speaker 2: I would like to think that if I had issue
- 54:20Speaker 2: with you, I could just come to you directly and
- 54:22Speaker 2: say it. If I had to say it to somebody
- 54:24Speaker 2: outside of you, I'm sure there are people around us,
- 54:27Speaker 2: your mama, my grandmother, you know, relatives who could say
- 54:32Speaker 2: something to you. So for me to go to a
- 54:34Speaker 2: media outlet, I'm looking to gain some sort of groundswell
- 54:38Speaker 2: of support.
- 54:39Speaker 21: Command you ray Uh. I think it's her having to
- 54:44Speaker 21: deal with uh. She's gonna she's she's gonna get those
- 54:48Speaker 21: questions all the time. She's one of the best players
- 54:52Speaker 21: on the US women's soccer team, so she has that
- 54:56Speaker 21: public profile internationally and people who know, like know that's
- 55:03Speaker 21: who her father is. They're going to ask, you know,
- 55:05Speaker 21: and looking for some kind of feel good story and
- 55:07Speaker 21: it's not there. So she's I think she's she's just
- 55:12Speaker 21: being honest about it. But I think it comes from
- 55:15Speaker 21: she gets asked those questions, people.
- 55:18Speaker 5: Being this.
- 55:21Speaker 1: What they're going to ask about? What you want?
- 55:24Speaker 2: And all the time, no, no, no, I'm saying you
- 55:27Speaker 2: and I don't want to discuss that I'm one of
- 55:30Speaker 2: the best soccer players in the world, talk about We'll
- 55:32Speaker 2: ask you again tomorrow and I won't and I won't
- 55:35Speaker 2: talk about it.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Then I'm still not well.
- 55:39Speaker 6: The thing is, the first time anybody knew about it
- 55:42Speaker 6: was twenty twenty one when he showed up at a game.
- 55:45Speaker 6: And then that's when they found out that that was
- 55:47Speaker 6: her father, so she said. And then after that he
- 55:50Speaker 6: went radio silent owner and he hasn't really he just
- 55:54Speaker 6: showed up for that one game, and now all of
- 55:55Speaker 6: a sudden, that's everything everybody wants to speak. Next is
- 55:58Speaker 6: like she's been being a baller on the soccer field,
- 56:02Speaker 6: doing her thing until that moment, and then now everybody will.
- 56:06Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no no no. You're saying that's
- 56:09Speaker 1: when they been Rodman.
- 56:10Speaker 2: You're saying, that's when the world became aware of the
- 56:13Speaker 2: fact that he was her father.
- 56:15Speaker 1: She knew, he knew.
- 56:18Speaker 2: They vibe ain't changed who they are to each other,
- 56:21Speaker 2: being the same, you think he's somebody different.
- 56:24Speaker 22: Was mad?
- 56:25Speaker 2: I'm saying, do you think that their relationship has changed
- 56:30Speaker 2: so much recently that she just now had to say something?
- 56:35Speaker 1: No, she know who her daddy is.
- 56:37Speaker 5: Well, Dennis something. From what I read, Dennis is being Dennis.
- 56:41Speaker 5: And maybe you could be ashamed of Dennis being Dennis.
- 56:45Speaker 5: But in this even when I'm reading and she said
- 56:47Speaker 5: he didn't let anyone know that he was going to
- 56:52Speaker 5: show up to her match, I don't think that is
- 56:56Speaker 5: something that he has to unless you have alerted him.
- 56:59Speaker 5: You don't want him to come.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Now.
- 57:03Speaker 5: I couldn't get that feeling from the article that she's
- 57:06Speaker 5: ever illuminated to Dennis don't show up, not to show
- 57:10Speaker 5: up as much as she just was hoping. He didn't
- 57:14Speaker 5: show up, even a couple of times when she was
- 57:17Speaker 5: saying that he wanted them to do things like go shopping,
- 57:23Speaker 5: where her and her brother just wanted some money to
- 57:27Speaker 5: go get pizza, like he was trying to create father
- 57:31Speaker 5: daughter son moments. But above all of that, I just
- 57:36Speaker 5: didn't get in the article. It's like big Kenney saying,
- 57:39Speaker 5: or comanji, where I need to maybe a little what
- 57:43Speaker 5: you're saying. She was just ready to try to put
- 57:45Speaker 5: this to bed. But all this is going to do
- 57:47Speaker 5: is drive more questions. Now somebody has to go and
- 57:51Speaker 5: try to do a sit down with Dennis and see
- 57:53Speaker 5: this is is that not true?
- 57:55Speaker 1: Really quick? How is this young lady? How is this
- 57:59Speaker 1: young lady? She is twenty two?
- 58:01Speaker 2: Okay, see see and and a lot of people don't
- 58:04Speaker 2: agree with me on this, But once you get into
- 58:06Speaker 2: adulthood and you start with the hey, you are a
- 58:11Speaker 2: bad parent, then as an adult I might be on
- 58:14Speaker 2: some you just allows.
- 58:16Speaker 1: The kid and I see what I'm saying, if you
- 58:18Speaker 1: were a horrible child.
- 58:19Speaker 6: I look at his attention grab because she goes on
- 58:21Speaker 6: the shoulders, actually called call her daddy podcast So she
- 58:25Speaker 6: wanted to be solid about it.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Well again and that was the function of that. She
- 58:31Speaker 1: wanted to call him Dennis. But right he was so
- 58:35Speaker 1: so what if? So what if? What if?
- 58:39Speaker 2: Now people are saying that he's this person, and because
- 58:43Speaker 2: they're asking him questions, he goes to throw her under
- 58:46Speaker 2: the bus. She never showed none of that competitive fire
- 58:49Speaker 2: when I was trying to teach her that she was lazy.
- 58:52Speaker 2: I didn't like her work. She was always entitled. And
- 58:56Speaker 2: now everybody, oh, you said that about your child. We
- 58:58Speaker 2: got the same relationship to each other. I'm your daddy,
- 59:02Speaker 2: you my child. So if you can talk bad about me,
- 59:05Speaker 2: what makes me supposed to just sit back and take that?
- 59:09Speaker 1: That ain't a daddy you got. That might not be
- 59:12Speaker 1: the daddy you got. I might be one of them.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Forget you too, daddy.
- 59:16Speaker 1: You see what I'm saying. So I don't think that's cool.
- 59:18Speaker 5: I didn't read anything, and you guys can correct me
- 59:22Speaker 5: as we move on if you find something. I didn't
- 59:24Speaker 5: read anything where she said he was abusive in a
- 59:29Speaker 5: physical manner, right, So I did not read he just
- 59:34Speaker 5: abused her with the desire to go shopping when she
- 59:36Speaker 5: wanted to. And that's not the only thing that makes
- 59:38Speaker 5: your bad father. But at least it never seemed like
- 59:40Speaker 5: he was a physical with her. Most of it seemed
- 59:44Speaker 5: like Dennis being Dennis and her expectations of maybe what
- 59:48Speaker 5: she really.
- 59:48Speaker 1: Wanted as a dad.
- 59:51Speaker 5: I know a lot of kids they see other people
- 59:54Speaker 5: and their relationship with their parents just because their parents
- 59:59Speaker 5: are not exactly like that.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: They have deemed them any bad pain.
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: My first thing I would tell her you even your
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: blessing is you have an emotion, yeah, about your dad.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: Some of us, right, don't have an emotion about their
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: point of reference, even though there's no father to reference
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: in any kind of way.
- 1:00:24Speaker 25: Right.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: We'll be back with more to Sports Jock Show right
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: after this.
- 1:00:28Speaker 33: You can't see things down on me, saying every there's walking, don't.
- 1:00:38Speaker 9: Go Awayne Born of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne
- 1:00:41Speaker 9: Gambidios coming up next.
- 1:00:44Speaker 11: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 1:00:46Speaker 10: Three quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical
- 1:00:50Speaker 10: piece of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually
- 1:00:54Speaker 10: have life insurance.
- 1:00:55Speaker 12: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:00:56Speaker 12: just getting started with our family and thought we lived
- 1:00:59Speaker 12: forever life insurance. So it's the last thing on my mind.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: What about you?
- 1:01:02Speaker 11: Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:01:04Speaker 12: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:01:06Speaker 12: bills piling up, I was worried how my family will
- 1:01:08Speaker 12: survive without me. That's what I'm in an appointment with
- 1:01:10Speaker 12: the insurance informants.
- 1:01:11Speaker 10: Information gives you power, and life insurance gives your family
- 1:01:14Speaker 10: security no matter what stage of life you're.
- 1:01:17Speaker 12: In now, that I'm molder, I don't worry about whether
- 1:01:19Speaker 12: I'll leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:01:21Speaker 10: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five or fifty,
- 1:01:24Speaker 10: whether you earn a little or a lot, all you
- 1:01:26Speaker 10: need is the insurance informant to help you build a
- 1:01:28Speaker 10: foundation of security, because without you, your family will have
- 1:01:32Speaker 10: two options, benefits or bills. Which legacy will you leave behind?
- 1:01:37Speaker 10: Log on today, benefits or bills?
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Dot Com?
- 1:01:40Speaker 11: That's benefits or bills dot Com?
- 1:01:47Speaker 8: No US enough, I'll have why so serious south and
- 1:01:52Speaker 8: we hold the world ransom for.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: Excuse me while I whip this out.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Sure broadcasting law in Atlanta, Georgia to this. This is
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: the Sports Shot Ship with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: You may.
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: Come comes.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: It's just.
- 1:02:21Speaker 15: I'm doing.
- 1:02:22Speaker 20: Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way.
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: You may welcome back to the Sports Shop show. I'm
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: this SMT shot Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you out
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: there listening land Glad to be here with you on
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: this Thursday. We are rolling into Christmas UH six days away.
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: A lot of sports between now and then. As we
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: talked about the NFL, UH, we'll take over any day
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: that you leave open for them. At this point in
- 1:02:49Speaker 5: the season. So uh, in the next couple of days
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: tonight including you got Denver and the Chargers, and then
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: you have two games on Saturday, then the regular slate
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: of games on Sunday, and then you got a Monday
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: night game, and then on Christmas Day you have two games.
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: So a lot of NFL going on here in the
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: next six days. College football playoff kicking off this weekend
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: as well, with the quarterfinals Indiana and Notre Dame tomorrow
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: and then the other three on Saturday, in a long
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: day of sports. Atlanta Hawk fans, if you want to
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: get a chance to see the no spectacular play John Morant,
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: he will be here Saturday. I remember he vowed he
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: won't be doing all that dazzling you stuff anymore. Command
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: because you're coming to see me dazzle.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: He's playing you.
- 1:03:49Speaker 21: He's playing you because he said he said, he said
- 1:03:52Speaker 21: he wasn't gonna dunk anymore. They played the Celtics and
- 1:03:55Speaker 21: he like he dunked on two guys reversed the same night.
- 1:04:00Speaker 21: He just messed, maybe he's coming.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: You know, it's comes slow. Everybody be thinking it's overnight.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: But sometimes you move forward and take a couple of
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: steps back. And it's yeah, I mean, we're moving toward
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: being not dynamic, it's muscle.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Yeah, he's working on it. He's a working progress.
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: He thinks he's not until he gets mid air and
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: then thinks, you know what, since I'm up here.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm up here.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: Now give him some time. He'll be Tim Duncan before.
- 1:04:30Speaker 34: You know it.
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: The NBA once again having some issues, and this is
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: just a we have been We've been doing this show
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: eleven years now, I think twelve almost uh, and easily
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: we have seen this developed with the NBA. It was
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: easy to see in the NFL, with the Pro Bowl
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: it was going to have to become basically nothing. They
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: still try to, you know, sell you the whole skills competition,
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: but very few of us have any knowledge. It's one
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: of those things you probably would end up walking I'm
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: watching if you were waiting on your flight and you
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: just happened to look up, like, oh, it's Pro Bowl activities,
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: but nobody you know, we already know Tyrek Hills runs
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: a four to two and it's just I mean, but
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: they had to find something. But you knew the game
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: just each and every year stopped looking like football. You
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: start changing the rules. You can't sack, you can't hit,
- 1:05:37Speaker 5: you can't then why would I watch this. It's the
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: same thing with the NBA All Star Game. It started
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: with a fever, especially for our age group, where the
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: competition in all events, whether it was a dunk contest
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: or a three point contest, even the game, it wasn't
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: one hunt hundred percent effort by the players, but it
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: was ninety seven percent. Just a little bit things you
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: thought that you might get hurt on, they would go
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: ahead on and concede the basket instead of giving you
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: the elbow. Now it's just going into a whole bunch
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: of when this quarter, we'll give this to some charity
- 1:06:24Speaker 5: kind of money, and these guys don't want to play,
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: And then it became we'll get these guys to pick
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: teams and gimmicks to try to even.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: But it really was just the effort.
- 1:06:35Speaker 5: People really want to watch this game and see the
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: superstars guard each other. The same thing about the dunk contest.
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: It was about the names dunking against each other. You
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: really do want Jah Morant and Anthony Edwards in the
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: dunk contest just as much as you want Steph Curry
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: in a shootout. With Damian Lillard. That's what you came
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: to see, right, Well, it was on Saturday night.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Is that what you want to see?
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: You're gonna pause your night to see if Jaw can
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: defeat in. Right, that was the dunk contest. Now it's
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: you're getting guys from the G League Seahawk team. It
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: ain't nobody, you know, doing some trick dunks that you
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: saw on YouTube.
- 1:07:28Speaker 21: Right, And I get called up to the team the
- 1:07:31Speaker 21: day before, so they could be contest and.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: I think a lot of and and we would like
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: to look for just one cause of why it's like
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: that now. But when we were watching the All Star game,
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: the names going against each other solidified our belief in them.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: It solidified the name. If you think you bad, doctor
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: J going against some magic. Now, after that Bird, after
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: that game, we knew who was the coldest in the NBA.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: And they walked with that pride.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Now and think he the man, just because he the man,
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: J I ain't got to go up against nobody. This
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: man done said, I'm gonna stop being dynamic, y'all know
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: what I'm so him that I'm going to allow you
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: sometime to beat him a little bit. Catch you Brown?
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: I know, I know I'm dazzling, and you know, the
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: bright lights and stuff used to bring out the best
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: of the showtime element. But now what I'm telling you
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: is I'm so important in basketball that I don't even
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: have to play the sport.
- 1:08:43Speaker 34: Well.
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: The best thing was that when the All Star like
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: you said, started for us in the era at the time,
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: everybody didn't have a TV deal, you didn't have NBA Network,
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: and the only time you got to see the players
- 1:08:54Speaker 6: like George gerving Iceman was at the All Star Game
- 1:08:58Speaker 6: because you didn't see San Antonio on TV at the time.
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: You see them guys going him going up against the
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: Magic or if you didn't get to see a Bernard
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: King as much a Nicks, and you'll see now.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: I think that has taken that stigma.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: Every team's got streaming, every team, every all of these
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: players now live in a timeline. If you are the
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: star in Atlanta, Trey Young, some nights be straight waste
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: basket and he's still the guy in Atlanta, and that's
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: the bubble he lives in when they see him. Hey Trey,
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: And like sports Jock said, we not critical people. Hey Trey,
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: great game last night with your seven points and you know, rebounds.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: In other markets, they be like, I can't believe you
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: showed up here today looking for some love with that
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: trash you pulled off last night.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: So that's the thing.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: These guys don't feel the need to compete outside of
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: how it'll benefit me. I don't care about the fans
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: and their enjoyment. This is all about me in the business.
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: Kevin Durant says that he hates the new format, and
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: the new format will become where the twenty four players
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: will be selected, and at least this year, the honorary
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: captains or what they're calling gms will be Charles Barkley,
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O'Neill. Each of them will break
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: into three teams and then two of those teams will
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: play each other. The third team will play whoever makes
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: the Rising Stars team. Then the winners of those will
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: play in some kind of All Star game. But all that,
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: to just say, is just a whole lot for a
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: game that really people just wanted to see effort out
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: on the court. They wanted to come. They want to
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: see who decided if Beyonce, we're gonna sit next to
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: whoever on the floor be entertained with some effort and
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: the biggest catalysts kind of what the bad producer is
- 1:10:57Speaker 5: saying with everybody in television and broadcasting, the checks stopped
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: becoming important. There was a time where the Pro Bowl
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: function because the winner getting fifteen thousand dollars more than
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: the loser was all the motivation for the salaries that
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: were being given out in the early nineties late nineties.
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: So you get fifty thousand dollars if I win and
- 1:11:28Speaker 5: thirty five if I lose. In those days, that was
- 1:11:31Speaker 5: a lot of money. Now you got guys that almost
- 1:11:34Speaker 5: would pay just to take the week off. You're talking
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: about a little hundred thousand dollars man, honey, geez, what
- 1:11:42Speaker 5: are you serious.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: That's today's fit, that's today's puffy books. They can get
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: their sponsors pay some of that. That is one hundred
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: thousand dollars. I paid that for my crop top. That's
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: part of it too.
- 1:11:56Speaker 21: As far as like with the guys not participating in
- 1:11:58Speaker 21: the dunk contests or something like that, they are afraid
- 1:12:02Speaker 21: of embarrassing the brand or damaging their brand and how
- 1:12:07Speaker 21: they'll be looked at on social media. But you used
- 1:12:11Speaker 21: to have to get in the dunk contest to get
- 1:12:13Speaker 21: the brand right right, Well, now you don't have to,
- 1:12:16Speaker 21: and I know that's part of it.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: The greed part is what will eat and deteriorate a
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: lot of.
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: Things when it comes to sports, because sports are so hard.
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: When something is easy, it dolls your idea. I'm just
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: saying because y'all all of my friends, and I'm just
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: trying to tell you now, I totally when you're doing
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: something hard, I like physically hard, and then somebody like boxing,
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: y'all just gonna come out and see me boxing man
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: for twenty grand for four two minute rounds. How did
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: you think Mike Tyson was supposed to respond that, Hey, Mike,
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: give us four to two minutes rounds and we'll give
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: you twenty million dollar.
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: Wait a minute, I know I haven't fought two minute rounds.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: That's eight weeks. That's eight minutes. Oh okay, I threw it.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: I threw it.
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: But you understand when you have something hard and that
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: and that's why I'm scared we're gonna lose these younger players,
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: these high school players before they fully developed. And one
- 1:13:25Speaker 5: other reason, as we go to break why you see
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: so many athletes now retiring before thirty.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: I ever noticed that retire for thirty.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Spend some of this money.
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: Hey, you already done. Gave me one hundred and twenty mi.
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: Why would I wake up it? Y'all wanted ten miles
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: in breakfast. You better get some of this living strawberry cush.
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: We'll be back right.
- 1:13:56Speaker 8: Never spend the night alone.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: I got a few you would like to, but just
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: a romance.
- 1:14:01Speaker 6: Don't tickle my fancy, Nancy, That's not what my plans be.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: Meet a girl like a family. Praise me a family
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: to the lassie trip to the Brands. Come don't bowl Wayne.
- 1:14:13Speaker 9: More of the Sports Josh Show with Wayne Dantidia's coming
- 1:14:16Speaker 9: up next.
- 1:14:21Speaker 35: Attention high school sports fans. Are you an arm share official?
- 1:14:26Speaker 35: You know the parent or fan who constantly yells at
- 1:14:29Speaker 35: the referees and loves to let everyone know just how
- 1:14:32Speaker 35: bad you think they are. Well, if you think you
- 1:14:35Speaker 35: could do better, then get in the game and prove it.

- 1:14:54Speaker 18: it out and move on.

- 1:15:26Speaker 36: athletic events. Some fan seem angry, They lack civility toward
- 1:15:31Speaker 36: one another. Some even get aggressive and unruly.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Time out.
- 1:15:37Speaker 24: What is going on?
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: This has to stop.
- 1:15:41Speaker 36: Let's not forget school sports aren't just about winning, and
- 1:15:44Speaker 36: they're definitely not an excuse to take your frustrations out
- 1:15:47Speaker 36: on the official or the opponent. They're about teaching lessons
- 1:15:51Speaker 36: like perseverance, respect, and empathy so students can learn and
- 1:15:56Speaker 36: grow as people, not just as players. We all have
- 1:16:00Speaker 36: a role to play in setting a good example for

- 1:17:12Speaker 6: No, she's been with sister eight early seven, I mean

- 1:17:58Speaker 1: I just thought she was.
- 1:17:59Speaker 21: She's probably most as a songwriter, but she's probably been
- 1:18:03Speaker 21: around for a long time.

- 1:18:54Speaker 1: He did it well.
- 1:18:56Speaker 6: We were playing and you actually know Chris Morado and
- 1:19:00Speaker 6: he Mike took fresh brand new driver and Christmas soul.
- 1:19:04Speaker 6: Oh you can hit it, you can hit it. And
- 1:19:06Speaker 6: he hit it and he put a big old dam
- 1:19:08Speaker 6: he hit on the top of it. We call him
- 1:19:11Speaker 6: idiot marks and golf, but it was so funny.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: And is it take a lot of power to do that?
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: Is that what it is?
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: You have to, okay, Mike, I'll start well, he's a
- 1:19:20Speaker 5: big full back fifty one, mark Ingram Junior thirty five,

- 1:20:12Speaker 5: It's a busy weekend, a lot of sports, a lot
- 1:20:16Speaker 5: of work going on take take off.
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to you know, I'm working for myself
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: for whatever. Can I get some work. I gotta take it.
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with Trish Stratus. You yeah, ain't nothing
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: for a moment. I can come off the top brop
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, put it in the full headlock.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: Maybe throw a little finger foe on her. She can
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: do a little back to belly soupplex. It's gonna be
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: a good weekend. You ain't never even got to not
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: even got a break out of the sports theme.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: You see what.
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: Figure and right when, right when she thinks she got
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: me pinned down one two show, I'm gonna lift that
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: little showed up and she's gonna be like, ah, and
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to go another round.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: That's what it is.
- 1:21:00Speaker 5: Walmart is testing body cameras, which is a great idea
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: with the new policy of how they don't want the
- 1:21:08Speaker 5: employees really to step in and stop the thievery, at
- 1:21:15Speaker 5: least with the body camera, right, they would be able
- 1:21:18Speaker 5: to have them on on camera.
- 1:21:20Speaker 7: Now.
- 1:21:21Speaker 5: I would imagine that's why they are doing.
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: It right well, that is I'm sure that one of
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: the motivations for it. But last night I happened to
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: be in Walmart, and I wonder if it will record
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: all of it. I'm walking past a lady I happened
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: to stop in need of the string of Christmas lights.
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: I was about to ask her until someone said, excuse me.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: She was talking to someone. Someone said excuse me, and
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: she went, don't you see me talking to somebody. I'm
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: already helping somebody.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: Give me a minute.
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: Man. People so rude and walked off, and I was like, wow,
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: that was profe on duty to the customer. You know,
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: will she record that and forward that to management or
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: will it be like they question somebody cams now you
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: only cut it on to catch the stuff that well.
- 1:22:13Speaker 6: I mean, I think it's more like for the stealing
- 1:22:15Speaker 6: part of it because of loss prevention, which you know
- 1:22:18Speaker 6: I've worked in a loss prevention capacity, and that they
- 1:22:21Speaker 6: the more they could get video and data on the
- 1:22:24Speaker 6: customer now instead of like if I just catch you
- 1:22:26Speaker 6: steal in one thing, they want to be able to
- 1:22:28Speaker 6: get it up to a felony because if you continue
- 1:22:30Speaker 6: to come in and you're thinking I'm an lick, and
- 1:22:32Speaker 6: I could keep coming in. But I think the video
- 1:22:35Speaker 6: aspect of it is to be able to catch and
- 1:22:37Speaker 6: build the cases. Now because you don't see it only
- 1:22:41Speaker 6: helps to build a case that is an obvious.
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: Act of fat. But they have people grabbing stuff running
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: out the door.
- 1:22:50Speaker 9: I know.
- 1:22:51Speaker 6: But what I'm saying is lost prevention already got a
- 1:22:53Speaker 6: pulse on, oh, this person's been coming in.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: We know this, so listen, listen. I worked lost prevention
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: as well.
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: They have catwalks to have surveillance cameras already to stop
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: that is to get to catch the people who are
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: willing to run out the door with right with the
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: merchandise in their arms.
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: Now, that's why I said when I started with a
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: lot of stores going to that policy where they don't
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: even want don't touch them employee to put themselves in danger.
- 1:23:22Speaker 5: But at least they could get a better visual of
- 1:23:25Speaker 5: the person just stand there and let them run by
- 1:23:27Speaker 5: the camera.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: And this is not I think they're just a trial run.
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: Because there are a lot of stores probably will implement
- 1:23:37Speaker 5: this if it turns out to be something and it products.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: It protects both because there have been situations where people
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: thought they were uh robbing a store all of a
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: church's chicken, where the employees pulled out weapons and started
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: firing at the robbers. And you know that way, we
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: don't have to get anybody involved. Just step let the
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: cameras do their job. We'll be back more to Sports
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: Jock Show right after this.
- 1:24:05Speaker 25: That's when God's day straight down from us. She came
- 1:24:12Speaker 25: and shut me off with feet, showed me to.
- 1:24:15Speaker 8: Mean and dream.
- 1:24:18Speaker 9: John Bow, Wayne Or of the Sports Jock Show with
- 1:24:21Speaker 9: Wayne Gambidius coming up next.

- 1:24:35Speaker 24: It grows louder when you ask for help and you're vulnerable.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: It is the thread that lets you know that no
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: matter what happens, you will be okay.

- 1:24:56Speaker 23: ignore me. Carve my path with data and drive, but
- 1:25:00Speaker 23: some people only see who I am on paper, the
- 1:25:04Speaker 23: paper ceiling, the limitations from degree screens to stereotypes that
- 1:25:07Speaker 23: are holding back over seventy million stars workers skill through
- 1:25:11Speaker 23: alternative rocks rather than a bachelor's degree. It's time for

- 1:26:02Speaker 32: Player's Lounge. We have been given full access to the
- 1:26:07Speaker 32: players Lounge on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:26:15Speaker 29: Uh huh ye, uh huh ye, baby, uh huh yeah, what.
- 1:26:33Speaker 8: You want to do?
- 1:26:34Speaker 5: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the sports
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: shock Wayne Candy. We would be wrong if we didn't
- 1:26:40Speaker 5: mention that the Milwaukee Bucks did win the second annual
- 1:26:44Speaker 5: NBA Cup, which we learned that no one really cares,
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: but it was on the docket and the Bucks beat
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: Okay c uh to win the second inaugural NBA Cup
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: out in Vegas. And maybe this will get the Bucks
- 1:27:03Speaker 5: back on Doc Rivers is up there, Yanna's h Dame Lillard.
- 1:27:08Speaker 5: Dame Lillard signed a lifetime shoe deal with Adidas. And
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: when I saw that, because I see a lot of
- 1:27:15Speaker 5: Asia Wilson as a long deal now with Nike, and
- 1:27:18Speaker 5: I couldn't remember the last time I bought a pair
- 1:27:21Speaker 5: of shoes based on the who was wearing the pitch
- 1:27:26Speaker 5: man right, I don't you know. It's something I think
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: companies feel like they have to have because and and
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: with the they won the NBA what what is it
- 1:27:38Speaker 5: called the NBA Cup, the NBA Cup?
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: Who had Boston to win the NBA? I mean, Milwaukee
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: win the NBA Cup. When it first started, somebody and
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: he was like, man, that NBA Cup is going to
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: be taken by.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: I didn't even watch the game. I was down calling
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: the so so nobody, so nobody's interested watching.
- 1:27:57Speaker 6: Milton be I was just thought of the interesting in
- 1:28:00Speaker 6: Hughes that darwn Ham's told doc records don't skip the champagne,
- 1:28:06Speaker 6: don't do the champagne celebration or.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: Anything like that.
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: Well he I think he was learning from last year
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: with his team not to just don't celebrate this in
- 1:28:16Speaker 5: this huge way take the victory. But maybe that's what
- 1:28:20Speaker 5: kind of the rail because it can. As I said,
- 1:28:22Speaker 5: athletes are very you can get very complacent, very easy.
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: Sometimes you have to keep yourself. You don't even need
- 1:28:30Speaker 5: to go buy everything for yourself. You need to act
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: like you barely can get it even when you don't,
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: because there's a certain hunger that gets satisfied that you
- 1:28:39Speaker 5: can easily fall into, Like you really just need an
- 1:28:43Speaker 5: apartment for like the first decade of your career. You
- 1:28:49Speaker 5: start getting hot tubs and horses. I know that sounds
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: and things like that.
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: A lot of people don't a lot of people don't
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: understand that man racehorses. I still believe that goes throughout life.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: Like I could be at the house and all of
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: a sudden just pull out that launch air that kind
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: of worked that you know, missing an.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: Arm and why you still got this. I don't want
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: to ever forget that this used to be.
- 1:29:17Speaker 5: You're always looking down at do you know as a commentator,
- 1:29:21Speaker 5: and we've had this conversation for over a decade. When
- 1:29:23Speaker 5: you take your eyes away from me now and the
- 1:29:26Speaker 5: people that's talking, it makes it seem like you're not
- 1:29:29Speaker 5: so do you have some comments from No, I was
- 1:29:32Speaker 5: just gonna say, give me some of the comments, because
- 1:29:34Speaker 5: that got to be what you're looking at.
- 1:29:35Speaker 6: I was gonna say about the at the cup that
- 1:29:38Speaker 6: who all they had that was at the game, some
- 1:29:40Speaker 6: of the Michael Phelps and Chance the Rapper and to
- 1:29:43Speaker 6: chain and get Little Yachty and did you watch it? No,
- 1:29:47Speaker 6: I didn't get just reading the article. I'm just going
- 1:29:50Speaker 6: to inform everybody that those I mean, that's who they
- 1:29:52Speaker 6: had at the game.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: You know, it was a big thing.
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: You know, So you're saying that because they because they
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: were there, then it.
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: Was relevant because you know, because Lily was there. Listen.
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: And what I'm saying is that number one hit he had.
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: Any time I'm trying to do something, I want to
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: make sure that little boat in the bill, But is
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: the number one that one remember you know that one
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: all the time. Were the one we always request from
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: Commandy to play on Roland. I can't remember the chance.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: Remember the NBA Cup Big Game. We talked about the
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: Pro game and the NFL and the playoffs. Big college
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: women's game will be usc Juju Watkins. A lot of
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: Juju's running around here now and you can't this weekend
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: on Saturday.
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: So that's a huge top ten matchup. Two of the
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: best players.
- 1:30:48Speaker 5: Uh, two players that people feel like are vying for
- 1:30:53Speaker 5: Player of the Year in college women's college basketball page Beckers.
- 1:30:57Speaker 5: And both of these young players have to shoe deals.
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: I think they're both with Nike. Yes, yeah, so Nike
- 1:31:05Speaker 5: is just rolling the dice because it's trust me, these
- 1:31:09Speaker 5: companies you're because you're rolling the dice now when you
- 1:31:11Speaker 5: absorb these and uh, there was a moment where Nike
- 1:31:16Speaker 5: was losing money because they had gained they had put
- 1:31:21Speaker 5: so many players under their roof, and nobody was out
- 1:31:26Speaker 5: selling the air Force One. It still was like their
- 1:31:30Speaker 5: number one seller that in the Jordan brand, shooting the
- 1:31:33Speaker 5: Jordan itself. I don't know about Jordan brand, but the
- 1:31:36Speaker 5: Jordan's shoe and the Air Force One was still.
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: With no advertising along with do you think that's a
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: benchmark for an athletic company? Is we have to have
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: a premier athlete signed to our company to wear one
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: of our shoes. Now, there's no graphic or a metric
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: that would quantify that just works. These people don't even
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: know this dude got a shoe. I mean, we've had
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: athletes have shoes work with us for eight or ten years,
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: didn't sign with other companies, and nobody ever knew that
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: they had a shoe with our company.
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: So it just is a this is what goes the
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: fleet goes with the dog now, truly.
- 1:32:22Speaker 5: You can when James Harden and a lot of those
- 1:32:25Speaker 5: guys had those shoes and you didn't even recognize what
- 1:32:27Speaker 5: I'm saying.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: You wouldn't even know the shoe now what the shoe
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: looked like now, But the shoe now is the jahn
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: morant that the kids are wanting, like though, what does
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: it look like? Without me googling? What does it look like?
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: Just like the Kyrie or the Lebron's and.
- 1:32:45Speaker 6: Look and it's got He's got JMT whatever the JM
- 1:32:50Speaker 6: his little number of left got not to cut you off,
- 1:32:52Speaker 6: grades got like that's the signature of his little jam
- 1:32:56Speaker 6: and a little Levin on it.
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: And to support your argument, sports jocky, he said, everybody
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: wants the job, Morant.
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: And you said, what do they look like?
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: And he said the Kyrie or the Lebron And I
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: don't know what either three of those shoes look like.
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: There's no point of reference in my mind for none
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: of those names of those shoes and the shoes.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: It's who is Kyrie with now? Because remember he left Nike, right,
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: it's uh Onto. It's a Chinese brand, Onto a n
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: t A see yeah too like we we we we.
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: They're not sold in any stores in America as far
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: as I know. You got to order them online. I know, Like,
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: are those the ones with like the the the look
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: looks like I don't know, almost frilly shoe strings, like
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: multiple colors. That was a style. He has, moxicans, moccasins.
- 1:33:57Speaker 5: Robert Cole Palmerly of Grant's Pass Oregon has received one
- 1:34:03Speaker 5: year suspended sentence three years probation after a plea agreement
- 1:34:08Speaker 5: where palmer Lely Muscle Buie by the protective order that
- 1:34:12Speaker 5: has been in effect since September, he will remain and
- 1:34:17Speaker 5: basically he is barred from the state of Connecticut for
- 1:34:21Speaker 5: the next three years. This is all surrounding that he
- 1:34:25Speaker 5: played guilty to stalking Yukon's Page Beckers. As we're talking
- 1:34:31Speaker 5: about Page Beckers versus USC this weekend, he pleaded guilty
- 1:34:37Speaker 5: to the charge. In addition, primarily is barred from arenas, hotels,
- 1:34:42Speaker 5: practice facilities where the Yukon women basketball team is present.
- 1:34:48Speaker 5: The state attorney also added that the w NBA has
- 1:34:55Speaker 5: barred him from all arenas and practice facilities. And this
- 1:34:59Speaker 5: is interesting case. He was stalking Page Becker, showing up
- 1:35:04Speaker 5: to different outside on campus.
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and.
- 1:35:09Speaker 5: Hopefully this is enough to deter him. And this is
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: where it's left. These kind of cases always spook me
- 1:35:16Speaker 5: to go to the next level. After the punishment, after you.
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: Place the barrier between me and you, that's when you
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: decide that there is no barrier that will keep me
- 1:35:30Speaker 2: from you. And that's the scary part I'm talking about you.
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: We had to go here. It's obvious you don't want
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: to leave me alone because we had to take it
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: to the legal level. And now that the courts have spoken,
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: you finish show the courts that your desire to be
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: around me has no limits or bounds.
- 1:35:49Speaker 5: And that's the scary part. Yeah, And that's why I
- 1:35:52Speaker 5: was saying. And you read that because you think, oh, well,
- 1:35:55Speaker 5: at least he was found guilty. But sometimes that's the trigger, right,
- 1:35:59Speaker 5: What you mean, You're gonna limit my ability to get
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: around see her and get it and get a glimpse.
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: Of a presence.
- 1:36:08Speaker 2: And then, unlike a normal quote unquote situation where I
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: would have to do a great deal of due diligence
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: to find out where you were so that I could
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: catch a glimpse of you, you have a whole website
- 1:36:22Speaker 2: dedicated to telling me where you're going to be at
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: what time, And now I can start to formulate my
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: plan much in.
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: Advance to come and catch a glimpse of Yeah. I
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: mean the thing with the the whole situation is now
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: that you you.
- 1:36:44Speaker 6: Putting yourself out there with social media and everything, these
- 1:36:47Speaker 6: ladies are gonna have fans. And I don't want to
- 1:36:51Speaker 6: say he was a groupie because they seem more he's
- 1:36:53Speaker 6: more of a like I said, he's a person that
- 1:36:55Speaker 6: was really coming after her, that was really making her
- 1:36:57Speaker 6: feel uncomfortable to the ladies that the la the gymnastics,
- 1:37:01Speaker 6: she had to change her whole schedule because.
- 1:37:03Speaker 5: Well, I think what you're saying is a fan is
- 1:37:06Speaker 5: someone who shows up to organize events where you can
- 1:37:11Speaker 5: get signatures and pictures. But you on a random Tuesday
- 1:37:18Speaker 5: standing outside the Subway.
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: Sandwich shop on something, Hey, man, I know you like
- 1:37:25Speaker 2: the ham and cheese foot long with mayonnaise on it.
- 1:37:28Speaker 2: I got one for you. Can you sign it? That's
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: that's that security, That that's the hey.
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: You know Eddie come on with the Sports Duck Show
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: right after it this.
- 1:37:43Speaker 32: Like I supposed to, like I supposed to, shining like
- 1:37:46Speaker 32: I'm supposed to in the club, freaking with honeys like
- 1:37:50Speaker 32: I supposed.

- 1:38:02Speaker 26: not a matter of if, but when. Don't find yourself saying.
- 1:38:06Speaker 19: When the storm rolls in, my time to find a
- 1:38:08Speaker 19: pet friendly evacuation center will have run out.
- 1:38:11Speaker 11: The scorching heat way, believe me, powerless to cool my insulin.
- 1:38:15Speaker 13: I'll face a hurricane without mets.

- 1:40:01Speaker 1: And now back to the sports John Wing Candy.
- 1:40:14Speaker 14: Between lock on, say you can see a sports jaint,
- 1:40:29Speaker 14: I'll sing, even Johnny welcome back to this Hoe Shock
- 1:40:34Speaker 14: telling him this hor Shock wing cant.
- 1:40:36Speaker 5: We talked about Michael Vick becoming a new head coach
- 1:40:39Speaker 5: up at Norfolk State. Some creditors are saying, Mike owes
- 1:40:44Speaker 5: him some money, bad producer.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: What do you know about this?
- 1:40:48Speaker 6: I don't know anything. I just saw that headline. Also,
- 1:40:50Speaker 6: I thought that he had paid it. At one time
- 1:40:53Speaker 6: it was a report that he had paid all his
- 1:40:55Speaker 6: creditors off. That was the main thing he was doing
- 1:40:57Speaker 6: when he was came back in the league he had
- 1:40:59Speaker 6: developed playing him and Tony Dungee.
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: From my understanding that he had paid them off.
- 1:41:03Speaker 6: But this is something stemming back from twenty eighteen with
- 1:41:07Speaker 6: he and his wife over five hundred thousand dollars.
- 1:41:10Speaker 5: Okay, this as a trio of collectors are trying to
- 1:41:13Speaker 5: force Michael Vick into bankruptcy in an effort to obtain
- 1:41:16Speaker 5: a huge sum of cash. They say the ex NFL
- 1:41:20Speaker 5: star owes them, but an attorney for VIC is slamming
- 1:41:24Speaker 5: the move, calling it frivolous. We will see how this
- 1:41:29Speaker 5: plays out with the new coach of the plaintiffs say
- 1:41:33Speaker 5: they have a judgment of five hundred and nine thousand
- 1:41:37Speaker 5: dollars against Vic stemming from a twenty eighteen loan. They
- 1:41:42Speaker 5: say the couple I guess him and his wife at
- 1:41:44Speaker 5: the time never paid off. So we will see how
- 1:41:48Speaker 5: this And with him being on the spot like now
- 1:41:51Speaker 5: and of being a coach, being a commentator, you get
- 1:41:55Speaker 5: asked the questions. Being a coach, you have a lot
- 1:41:58Speaker 5: of questions you have to answer. And here we go.
- 1:42:02Speaker 6: We're gonna go with I mean, everybody needs just relax,
- 1:42:06Speaker 6: let's just let them go in here. And I mean,
- 1:42:09Speaker 6: like you said, the question with me five hundred thousand. No,
- 1:42:11Speaker 6: I'm not even talking about that. I'm just saying, everybody
- 1:42:13Speaker 6: need to relax. Can you relax your five hundred grand?
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: Now are you asking to relax? I mean, I'm sorry,
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Let me I'm sorry, I caressive, Let me run,
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: let me say it.
- 1:42:25Speaker 6: Qu say the question you asking to You know when
- 1:42:29Speaker 6: you said that there comes with from being on that
- 1:42:32Speaker 6: one side of asking the questions.
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: Now you're being asked the questions.
- 1:42:36Speaker 6: That's just gonna it's gonna be a plethorough of things,
- 1:42:39Speaker 6: just not only the bankruptcy.
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: It's gonna be a lot of questions I'm saying.
- 1:42:45Speaker 2: I'm saying I can ask you questions about your third
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: and four strategy, but what that got to do with
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: my half million dollars?
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying.
- 1:42:56Speaker 6: You know, if it's a time and place for everything, though,
- 1:42:59Speaker 6: I mean, and you at the Norfolk State at press
- 1:43:02Speaker 6: conferences shouldn't be asked questions about that?
- 1:43:04Speaker 5: Oh well, I'm just talking about your judgment. When did
- 1:43:08Speaker 5: you start taking that philosophy?
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: Well? What philosophy? You just planning?
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: That little whatever, because I'm saying that's the thing you
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: say when you owe somebody five hundred thousand dollars. Now,
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: if you if I'm old five hundred, I don't care
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: where you at. If I get a chance to ask
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: you about my money, I'm gonna ask you now. If
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: you wanted a more private conversation, you should have handled
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: your business and paid me. But now I've caught up
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: with you, and I need to know about my bread.
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: And I ain't trying to be disrespectful or step on
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: your moment or none of that. I'm just saying, handle
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: business like it's business. That's all I'm asking. And now
- 1:43:48Speaker 2: you're on a platform that people can come at you
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: continuously continue because it's not about how you make yourself
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: look anymore. It's about how Remember we talked about the brand,
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: the image, the.
- 1:43:59Speaker 5: Like Aaron Rodgers and our man Ryan Clark continue to
- 1:44:04Speaker 5: go at it, guys. Commands you Greg, what's the status
- 1:44:08Speaker 5: of this pillow fight between Aaron Rodgers and Ryan Clark?
- 1:44:15Speaker 21: From what I the last thing I saw I may
- 1:44:17Speaker 21: have talked about it on Monday is Aaron Rodgers isn't
- 1:44:23Speaker 21: He doesn't like that any criticism that he receives anything
- 1:44:30Speaker 21: that appears to be negative. And Ryan Clark, I think
- 1:44:37Speaker 21: he just feels like he's doing his job as an analyst.
- 1:44:41Speaker 21: If someone's not playing well, he's going to say that.
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: What is it about Ryan Clark that his job as
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: an analyst seems to have primarily been boxed into criticizing
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: people's play. Ryan Clark does social commentary, He does all
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: kinds of things as a sports broadcaster that it's critical
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: of either the social climate, or people's political views, or
- 1:45:08Speaker 2: people's personal stances, or people's views on the world, or
- 1:45:12Speaker 2: their lack of involvement or action in some particular case
- 1:45:16Speaker 2: that he thinks is important. And I'm just saying, when
- 1:45:18Speaker 2: did he get that designation as the guy that's going
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: to criticize professional football players?
- 1:45:24Speaker 28: Now?
- 1:45:24Speaker 5: Would you let mean in a nutshell, when did Ryan
- 1:45:27Speaker 5: Clark become Stephen A.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: Smith, Because that's whose job he's taken. Oh, he worked
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: with him every day.
- 1:45:34Speaker 5: And I think that's what Aaron Rodgers is saying that
- 1:45:36Speaker 5: the whole panel of their network becomes because in those statements,
- 1:45:42Speaker 5: he was talking about the glory days where sports shows
- 1:45:45Speaker 5: and was about highlights and talking what was going on.
- 1:45:49Speaker 5: But now do you ever hear any kind of applause
- 1:45:53Speaker 5: on these sports shows?
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: Now? Not really? No, No, It's very short, isn't it.
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: It goes quickly to a bunch of what ifs. And
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: I think what makes Ryan Clark.
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: More critical is that when you start talking about broadcasters
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: criticizing athletes, the first thing people say is did you
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: play the sport? You never played, so you can't criticize
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: Ryan Clark played at the highest level. He wasn't outstanding
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: NFL football player, So now he feels the right to
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: just blah blah blah blah blah. But just because you
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: were good at it, don't mean you can talk about
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: how nobody else is handling their business at this moment.
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: And I understand his professional obligations and he has a
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: job to do as a broadcaster, but all you do
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: is complain.
- 1:46:44Speaker 6: But you see where the Adrian Colbert said his trip
- 1:46:49Speaker 6: out with Rogers has changed his life. When he went
- 1:46:52Speaker 6: out on the hallucinating trips and to go and visit
- 1:46:57Speaker 6: the with who cooed Joshua Tree of Adrian Kobo, he
- 1:47:02Speaker 6: just went to Central America. And he explained that he
- 1:47:04Speaker 6: went to Central American. He's a defensive back for the
- 1:47:07Speaker 6: Chicago Bears, and he played with Green Bay. He played
- 1:47:10Speaker 6: with Aaron Rodgers, thirty one year old player.
- 1:47:13Speaker 2: And so he's saying, going with Aaron Rodgers to South
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: America changes.
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: Yeah, they could have dropped at at the house. But
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: I'm just.
- 1:47:22Speaker 6: You know, you got your critics here and then you
- 1:47:24Speaker 6: got your you got someone speaking up places and see again,
- 1:47:27Speaker 6: I don't want to put those kinds of nuances in
- 1:47:29Speaker 6: it because a lot of great football players that never
- 1:47:31Speaker 6: took psychotropic drugs, and I don't want people to feel
- 1:47:36Speaker 6: like somehow you got to do that to be where
- 1:47:38Speaker 6: Aaron Rodgers is.
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: And I think Aaron Rodgers should stop pushing that on athletes.
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: If that's your personal being's do that. That's part of
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: it too, like all the other things that Aaron Rodgers
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: is involved in or likes discussing. Now, now it's going
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: beyond playing football.
- 1:47:57Speaker 5: Between him and Ryan Clark. Yes, Ryan Clark, they did
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: both for Calise. We'll be back more to sports Shot
- 1:48:03Speaker 5: Hill right after this.
- 1:48:06Speaker 17: I'm making save a one at.
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: Jon't Bowl.
- 1:48:14Speaker 9: Wayne Born of the Sports Josh Show with Wayne Dantis
- 1:48:17Speaker 9: coming out next.
- 1:48:21Speaker 8: Babes, what are you doing what?
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: I'm just s mowing the lawn.
- 1:48:25Speaker 11: No, it's blazing hot and dry out here. Don't you
- 1:48:28Speaker 11: remember Smokey.
- 1:48:29Speaker 37: Bear says avoid using power equipment when it's windy er dry.
- 1:48:34Speaker 13: Where'd you learn this?
- 1:48:35Speaker 37: Oh, it's on smokeybear dot com with many other wildfire prevention.

- 1:51:03Speaker 23: Will they give me that?
- 1:51:04Speaker 5: Wait, make to this w shot shub this wor shot
- 1:51:07Speaker 5: wing cand good morning to you once again. Grub hub
- 1:51:14Speaker 5: is gonna pay twenty five million dollars to sell to
- 1:51:17Speaker 5: a case with a misled diners and drivers.
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: About the price is that? Yes, a big kenny. And
- 1:51:25Speaker 2: as the story you were telling me about, yes they
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: are grub hab. They have emails that have confirmed that
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: the CEO of grub hub was encouraging the executives to
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: push deals where the coupons and the offers that they
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: offered to the customers doubled their orders and then was
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: less profitable for the actual drivers. So it was something
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: that they did deliberately and intentionally. They would you'd place
- 1:51:59Speaker 2: an oid, you would think that it was going to
- 1:52:01Speaker 2: be this certain amount, and then they encouraged him to
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: add on junk fees and delivery fees, which would sometimes
- 1:52:08Speaker 2: double delivery the cost of the delivery, and then drivers
- 1:52:13Speaker 2: thought they would be getting a larger percentage, but then
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: after they did their math, they got less money and
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: they got caught doing it, and now they have to
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: pay twenty five million dollars to settle the charges.
- 1:52:24Speaker 5: Got you and Shilo Sanders, the Colorado Great Safety? Who
- 1:52:30Speaker 5: is getting ready? It's to alimable? I think are they
- 1:52:33Speaker 5: still playing in that his case is gone the trial?
- 1:52:38Speaker 5: Remember a ruling of eleven million dollars was placed on
- 1:52:43Speaker 5: him in a trial in a case excuse me, where
- 1:52:48Speaker 5: he when he was in high school violently attacked a
- 1:52:52Speaker 5: security guy, right right, And I think that case now
- 1:52:56Speaker 5: is back in court. Yes, and Shiloh is on the hook.
- 1:53:00Speaker 5: Let me make sure that I have this correct. Eleven
- 1:53:03Speaker 5: million dollars. Are they trying to just decide whether this stands.
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: Well as the rule he tried to He tried to
- 1:53:12Speaker 2: say that he was bankrupt, but they're saying that no, basically,
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: you got enough money to.
- 1:53:18Speaker 5: Proceed with this case. Oh okay, he's going with the
- 1:53:21Speaker 5: whole bank ruph. Yeah, Well, he hasn't gotten to the
- 1:53:24Speaker 5: NFL yet though, right, well, I'm saying, you know, image
- 1:53:28Speaker 5: like that. You know we're getting a little money out here.
- 1:53:33Speaker 5: I'm saying, whatever you getting this income.
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: Now, A lot of these people don't think that that
- 1:53:38Speaker 2: that is that now you are property of the Internal
- 1:53:42Speaker 2: Revenue Service. But once they start cutting you checks with
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: your name on it, you fall into the public domain
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: area of business and you can be sued. And those
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: are earnings and people can freeze them and come after
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: them and all of that stuff. And the courts have
- 1:53:57Speaker 2: said no, no, Shiloh. You know, we're gonna let my
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: man seek his day in court. Actually he won the
- 1:54:03Speaker 2: judgment and then he said I'm bankrupt, and so they
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: froze everything. But now theyre going, no, no, look like
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: you got a couple of dollars, went with old bankrupt,
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: come pat in his pockets. What man, I ain't even
- 1:54:16Speaker 2: got eleven.
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: Million on me like that?
- 1:54:20Speaker 5: Last night, Sadly, one thing I forgot to mention about
- 1:54:23Speaker 5: the high school game Grayson playing Juju Lewis and Carlton
- 1:54:27Speaker 5: Juju is supposed to go to Colorado, speaking of Shiloh
- 1:54:31Speaker 5: and be the quarterback down there, losing in that game
- 1:54:36Speaker 5: to Grayson Grayson's big left tackle, Nick Brooks, the fourth star.
- 1:54:41Speaker 5: He's headed to Texas Clemson. One of them he signed
- 1:54:46Speaker 5: with very violent play when he kicked a guy. He
- 1:54:50Speaker 5: got ejected, but I just wanted to send some vibes
- 1:54:55Speaker 5: out there to him. That'd be like two hundred thousand
- 1:55:00Speaker 5: dollars at the next level. I mean, he kicked him
- 1:55:03Speaker 5: when he was on the ground, and I'm talking about
- 1:55:05Speaker 5: Nick Brooks stands about six eight, three sixty. He kicked
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: him so hard that he kind of limped to the sideline,
- 1:55:13Speaker 5: and before he got ejected, the trainer was actually taping
- 1:55:17Speaker 5: his ankle like maybe he heard himself kicking the guy.
- 1:55:20Speaker 5: But the Carrollton player was laying on the ground and
- 1:55:23Speaker 5: they had to review it and they got it right,
- 1:55:27Speaker 5: thank god for the officials did see it now.
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: But was very violent. It was as violent as a
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: player as you would see in any level.
- 1:55:35Speaker 5: What was the old Liman old Limans for Grace and
- 1:55:39Speaker 5: Grayson did win the six A championship, but he was
- 1:55:42Speaker 5: a play there. All the winners for the week, I mean,
- 1:55:45Speaker 5: I mean, if you remember all the games, you done
- 1:55:48Speaker 5: the games I Milton won five eight. Milton is number
- 1:55:51Speaker 5: two in the Country. Louke Nicol had a big game
- 1:55:54Speaker 5: in that for them. The quarterback. He's headed to Miami.
- 1:55:58Speaker 5: North o'coney. David Pollock is one of their coaches. If
- 1:56:02Speaker 5: you remember that name from Uga Fame. David Pollack also
- 1:56:07Speaker 5: was on ESPN for a long time before they had
- 1:56:09Speaker 5: budget cuts. But he's the d line coach for North o'coney.
- 1:56:13Speaker 5: They beat Maris for the four A championship. And then
- 1:56:17Speaker 5: last night Grayson beating Carlton in a game where I
- 1:56:26Speaker 5: was telling you off air, Juju looked sixteen last night
- 1:56:32Speaker 5: like he might need another year in college, I mean.
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: In high school.
- 1:56:35Speaker 2: Now with the kicking incident, did they have any motivation
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: behind what spurned him to do that?
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: It was just frustration.
- 1:56:44Speaker 5: I think it was just him bullying and thinking he
- 1:56:48Speaker 5: was going to get away with it. You could see
- 1:56:51Speaker 5: on the video that the guy kind of touched his
- 1:56:55Speaker 5: his foot as he was walking by, but nothing would
- 1:56:59Speaker 5: have warranted. The guy was still laying on the ground
- 1:57:01Speaker 5: and kicked him squarely in the face, mask with violence,
- 1:57:06Speaker 5: and the two referees, the two officials were standing right
- 1:57:08Speaker 5: there on the calls.
- 1:57:10Speaker 2: Now, will that affect his possibilities going forward? His prospects
- 1:57:15Speaker 2: or or are we passed on and morals and all
- 1:57:20Speaker 2: of that.
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: Whoever? If the O line, the O line coaching Texas
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: like that, Yes, that's what I'm looking for. That's right.
- 1:57:27Speaker 2: That's somebody at the in the NFL level is like
- 1:57:30Speaker 2: two hundred thousand dollars would be worth that.
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I just need to harness that. We can harness
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: that energy to go along with six eight three sixty?
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: Did I say six eight three? Yeah? You said six
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: left tackle? Yeah, left tackle.
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: And we we talked and we thought you was and
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: we thought you owned that uh toothache pain medicine when
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: you said that six eight three sixty high school.
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, y'all did get that.
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: Violent violence, And that's what that's what disturbs me a
- 1:57:56Speaker 2: man that's is kicking anybody anywhere, let alone in the
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: face mask.
- 1:58:01Speaker 5: Thundercat lion right there, that kind of big size right there,
- 1:58:05Speaker 5: and questioning we're gonna have to answer it as to
- 1:58:09Speaker 5: go to break. He got ejected, but he didn't get
- 1:58:13Speaker 5: he didn't have to leave the field, whereas in the
- 1:58:15Speaker 5: pros and.
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: College you have to go. Well, in high school, high school,
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: he stayed down there and he was cheering on his team.
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: You thought he was in the game.
- 1:58:21Speaker 6: Well, the rule is in high school because we don't
- 1:58:23Speaker 6: have they don't have enough uh facilitators, coaches and stuff.
- 1:58:27Speaker 6: You can't let the kid wants a kid tos eject
- 1:58:29Speaker 6: it because in the past, prior years, kids have did.
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: Things to themselves when you send them to the locker
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: room by themselves.
- 1:58:35Speaker 5: Nick range Rover was in the parking lot. Man, it's
- 1:58:40Speaker 5: the day of the n I L. He can't just
- 1:58:43Speaker 5: drive away.
- 1:58:43Speaker 1: Then he just went and drove home. And now he
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: went and sat in his rain Rover and ordered some double.
- 1:58:55Speaker 32: Right.
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: I get what you're saying in that instant, and we
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: are a notion.
- 1:59:00Speaker 17: The truth is he will throw your in the ocean.
- 1:59:04Speaker 32: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports Jut
- 1:59:07Speaker 32: Show with d Wayne Gandy.
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: When you're the soundsand Ocean gets to sports, y'all test
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: a minute to Vitt.
- 1:59:34Speaker 5: Would like to thank you for tuning in at any
- 1:59:36Speaker 5: point this weekend letting us try to entertain you. Big
- 1:59:39Speaker 5: Kenny command you, Greg Bag producer. Thank you for your contributions.
- 1:59:44Speaker 5: Remember Thursday Night Football and really over the next six days,
- 1:59:47Speaker 5: a lot of NFL college football playoffs going on as well,
- 1:59:52Speaker 5: but tonight Denver versus the Chargers on Thursday Night football,
- 1:59:59Speaker 5: mariad something real quickly and then you take it, embrace
- 2:00:03Speaker 5: it the way you look at our society. A poll
- 2:00:08Speaker 5: found that forty one percent all adults under thirty considered
- 2:00:15Speaker 5: a killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson acceptable. If
- 2:00:29Speaker 5: you're trying to wonder why we like we are in
- 2:00:32Speaker 5: at least this country, forty percent of the poll of
- 2:00:40Speaker 5: people thirty and under felt like it was cool to
- 2:00:45Speaker 5: bring the smoke to Brian Thomps. So next time you're
- 2:00:50Speaker 5: trying to figure out why we all messed up and
- 2:00:52Speaker 5: why this is happening, because there are people that feel
- 2:00:56Speaker 5: that two wrongs might not make it right, but it'll
- 2:01:02Speaker 5: get me some revenge. I mean, hey, we all got
- 2:01:06Speaker 5: issues with the insurance people. I don't know a person
- 2:01:09Speaker 5: that doesn't complain about their rate. But unless someone is
- 2:01:14Speaker 5: actually attacking you to harm you, murder is not a
- 2:01:21Speaker 5: justifiable act. Hope you have a good weekend from the
- 2:01:28Speaker 5: Sports talk show. As we always say on Thursday, we'll
- 2:01:32Speaker 5: see you in the future.
- 2:01:34Speaker 2: Peace,
