- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's not like not me first language.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's on Netflix.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: Go watch it.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's in the running for the best picture of the year and I know that's, is it really to say that?
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great flick.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: I thought cheap detector should get a nod.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, gosh, you're not.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Mike again, not like from the kids version, or maybe a people's choice award.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: The Oscars, the Oscars constantly ignored Mr. McGoo with Leslie Nielsen, so they have no taste.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, and that's one of your favorite movies.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: And let's talk about movies.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about who has tasted, who doesn't have Mr. McGoo.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: If you ever seen Mr. McGoo with Leslie Nielsen folks, and you just want to sit and laugh for an hour and a half, that's your show.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so just watch the cartoons.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: They're much better.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: No, yes movie was excellent.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't I was a fan of the cartoon because that was of cool.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: Who was a voice?
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know oh my god.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't a fan of Mr. McGo.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: He was one of the characters on Gilligan's Island Okay, okay, I'm not gonna tell you now
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: So you will leave the audience hanging by saying all this stuff and then not saying anything at all.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: They can look it up.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Look it up.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like your mom used to say, when you couldn't spell a word, go look it up.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's what my mom used to say.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: When I tell her, my mom couldn't use spell that she goes, go look it up.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: Customers service is not your forte.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: I can see.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: My customer service is my forte.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: Then you should tell them who that's for long, long time.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Then who is it?
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: You should tell them because it's
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: Jim back is okay Jim back is who was Mr. Howell on Gilligan's island who for some reason took a three-hour cruise with two suitcases full of cash Somebody explained that to me.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: He was a millionaire.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: I know, but why would he take two?
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think he was an investor.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: He was an ambassador trying to get away And he didn't know if he was going to need cash Because they didn't take American Express They always took American and didn't take the scuffer.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have a scuffer card?
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: No, I got a discover card and then I ran up my bill when I was single nice and I discovered I couldn't pay it Right exactly and you didn't get any of your money back.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: No, they kept calling me nice said, you know You approved me right think about that so so again We have to wrangle him in because he went off tangent so we're bringing it back to this So we're gonna back to our previews for this weekend Correct, okay First up obsession nope
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: You're on the curfew, you're reading the wrong information.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, not obsession.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: Love boosters.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: I love boosters.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: I love boosters.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: You sound like a threat.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: You sound like a fifth creator.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: I love that is the first.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the dumbest title for a movie I've ever heard.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's the movie where, yes, so folks, normally what we do in this particular part of the show.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: We don't do anything normal here.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: correct because we have you as a call home.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Normally what we do is we try the movies that are coming out this week.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling him you didn't say that though.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: You just said so we're also going to review.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: I said here are the previews of the movies.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the movies we're going to preview.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: We're not previewing all of those movies.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: We're only reviewing one of them.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to review one next week.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: But we're going to preview these now.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: for the audience.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so I love Boosters, what's it about?
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's about like someone who obviously loves Boosters.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take, I know nothing for this movie for 1,000.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, Alex, that could be a chair for a little kid in the restaurant, a Booster chair.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: That could be someone who contributes regularly to a university, that would be a Booster.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: It could be a rooster, what a list.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: Are you done a blister?
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Are you done?
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: Let me just name the titles, and then you tell them what it's about.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: But you can't do that.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: You can't name all the titles and then go back and just do them one at a time.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: Describe it.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: I love boosters.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: Now you can use it.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, Describe it.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: Have any remains silent?
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: You ready?
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's an action comedy, which is directed by Boots Riley, a feature is a kicky Palmer,
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: Kiki Palmer from the Password game, I think so.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: Is that it?
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: OK. All right.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she was the host of that, wasn't she?
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, still it.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: Passinger is a thriller horror film directed by Melissa Leo and Lou Liddbelle.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's a horror movie.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yeah, I saw that I did see the preview so that my not for me corporate retreat also also or movie this when I do know a horror thriller Yes, it's our stars Alan rock and then Rosanna Arquette They are rushing in a while or day of rush isn't it as well too It's not the big movie this week though.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: No, the big movie this week is and this one I do can talk about
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: I do can't talk about the Mandalorian and Grougou, which is baby Yoda, I love baby Yoda.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: Is that all you're gonna say?
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: I can say that it is directed by, it's directed by Lucas.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's not.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: Sphere.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: Richie Guy.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: Guy Richie.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: Nope.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's who directed the movie review it.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to see if you knew that.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: So since he has no clue because he doesn't normally do this portion of his job.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: What is your thing?
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: I love Star Wars.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about something.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: I've never, I've not watched a Mandalorian series.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: And so I probably should watch series before you watch the movie.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm going to watch some of those late at night this week.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: The only time I can watch them because Doris is not into Star Wars by any stretch of the imagination.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: For as such a big as a Star Wars fan as you are, I know.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: I know, I know.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: I just didn't get to it.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you had seen them, right?
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you had seen the Mandalorian, you would know that it was directed by John Favaro.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: Disney plus the right I don't think I have Disney plus it's Disney plus so I'm gonna have to just go into this one and isn't it Pascal isn't he the Mandalorian?
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, he is Peter Pascal.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, who plays Grogo?
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: Danny the Vidal?
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: No
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: That'll be a loot.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, yeah.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: Just like Mel Brooks is yogurt.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: It could have been her valentine.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, but he passed away.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Which is coming out soon by the way.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: Who?
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: Spaceballs, too.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, wait.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, folks, so those are the movies that are coming out this weekend.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: And nothing really hit our radar except, of course, for Star Wars.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: So we will be reviewing that next week for you.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: in our weekly review and now for something completely different.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: So, we reviewed what we're going to review in the gray this week.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: What did you think of it, sir?
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm going to tell you.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: I had
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: In the gray is like the most perfect titles for a movie like this ever and I love love the way they started it.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: The little voice over with her that explains the title.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't I can't recall a movie that was where they explained the title.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: And you hear that all the time.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's a gray area, you know, in court, in business.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: There's a gray area, in copyrights.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: There's a gray area.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what this movie is about.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: The gray area when it comes to going after bad people.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: So first of all,
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: I love fast-paced action movies, I love mission impossible, stuff like that.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: This was one of those in my opinion.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: Check your brain at the door, total suspension of disbelief in a lot of it.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: But that's what makes it work.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Jillon Hall,
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: I saw him in a different light in this movie and I thought he did it really well.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: Henry Cavill, also.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: Cavill.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: Cavill.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: He told me Cavill when I talked to him last week right before I did my review.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: Oh shit.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, excuse me.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my goodness.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: He told me.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: You don't believe he called me?
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not at all.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: And no, I'm not stuck either.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not even your sons who are listening by the way.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: Hey.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, Seconds Atlas.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the three main characters.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: And they...
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: They did a beautiful job.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: All the other characters were well cast as well, I thought.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: The other two main characters were Carlos Bardem and Fisher Stevens as a two bad guys.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: Carlos, in case you didn't know, is Harvier, Harvier Bardem's brother, older brother.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: They are a...
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: According to what I looked up, an acting dynasty out of Spain, they do both English and Spanish film, so they are, um, the, uh, I would say the, uh,
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: what's the little girl Barry Morris of Spain?
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the Barry Morris were the royalty in Hollywood for many, many years, Lionel Barrymore, and so on and so on right down to the daughter, Drew Barrymore, a granddaughter of Lionel.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: these guys apparently that's what they are over there and that they were he was really good in this he played a great bad guy so did Fisher Stevens when he first came on to the on a scene I was like I don't know what this guy but he did a really great job music you know we always talk about soundtracks
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: The music was like, dead on for me.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: Never overpowering anything that was going on.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: Just kind of added to it nicely.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was a nice original storyline with some nice twists and some good humor, plus a little bit of subliminal stuff going on there that you may or may not catch it.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not gonna give it away.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: Now, that's a first.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: Is it?
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: Is anything in this movie plausible?
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: Is everything in this movie plausible?
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: Not at all.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like five guys against an army of 90, really implausible.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: But that's what makes it fun.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Again, Allah, Aband, movie, or Mission Impossible movie.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: So what I want you to get.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: Oh sir, you missed the mark there.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: You forgot about John Wick.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: John Wick.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you had a shot and you missed it.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not done.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you were like Five guys against 90 on army of 90.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I throw John Wick in there one guy.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: I guess an army.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: That's the mission will be possible Bond and I mean, I just said similar movies and not
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: What I watch it again, which is not in the same way as I was totally entertained by the movie.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: I would give it a nine.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think this was a well-made, I'm not a big guy richy fan, but I think this was well-directed.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: Well, really nicely filmed, some pretty cool stunts, you know, there's, it's an implausible
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: implausible in that obviously five guys no matter how good they aren't gonna beat an army in 90, but there's, there's a bit of reality here in terms of how this faction of our society and this is, there's truth in what they're saying in this story, how they,
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: acting control situations in the economy and stuff, so you can come away going, oh, I could see that that is happening in this country and other countries as well.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe this is a great way to go after these guys.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's the implausible part, too.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: But I enjoyed it.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was a really good movie.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I've given a nine yet, but I'd give it a nine.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: While we are complete opposites, this is not a first for us, but we are complete opposites.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like the movie at all.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was dull, boring, bland.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: There was no character, creation, no character, or a week?
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I was a week.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: It was an action movie, which, you know, for all the time, that's it.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: That there was a ton of actions, but there was no plot, there was no development.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like I just said, it was a boring movie.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: Guy Richie at his best, none of is none of this movie.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: And anyway, shape or form.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: You can have that real opinion.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: So can you?
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you found it entertaining.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: Let's find it.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was in.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a nine.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's not worthy of a nine at all.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's worthy of maybe a five at best.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: I thought for sure we'd agree more on this one.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: It was an action movie and it was an hour and a half long.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: It was probably a half hour longer than it needed.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, see, I thought that it two hours would have been too long.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: I thought when it ended and it ended, the ending was not, they didn't really give away the ending anywhere, which was great.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't see the ending coming.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: Did you?
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: I did.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: I did you saw that ending coming really I saw the ending coming the movie was very predictable to me is that when you woke up but I'm yeah probably because I fell asleep for most of it because it just did it was okay I mean you know it was it was it was what it was and being a guy reaching movie sometimes you put it in a higher standard but um
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's entertaining, but it was, like I said, it was predictable.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people agree with me that it was predictable.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: There's no real people.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of crickets.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of crickets.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of crickets.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: Who?
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: Who of any importance?
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: When is a critic important in the first place?
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: there are their own opinions.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: It just it was lackluster.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: There was no character depth.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: There wasn't.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: And in Guy Richie has movies where there are the characters have huge depth.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I understand it's an action movie and it's not supposed to be like that.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: But even diehard had more the characters had more depth than this movie did.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's, I'm glad that I didn't have to pay full price for it, because otherwise I probably would have given a, even less of a review.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: It just, it, it was not originality, it was just, it seemed like it was the same old thing.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: It was, it was in it, you're right, the interesting, the opening was very interesting, and that's about the only thing that I will say was original and the entire movie was that I'm explaining what the,
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: what the title of the movie meant.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_00]: And the funny thing is the reason why I predicted it was because they told you the ending in the beginning.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: You had to pick, you can pick it out of there and play the puzzle game and figure it out.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: But from the very beginning, I knew exactly what was going to happen.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: Also from the previous two, you can kind of figure it out.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's not that hard.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: Henry Cavill, great, you know, and it's the same thing.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: The casting is good, and in a show where we're talking about worst castings, that's actually pretty good, because I thought when I saw the cast, I was like, oh yeah, I don't know about this cast, I'm like it may not be that great, and actually they all did very well.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: But again, it's
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: They claim it's a mystery and I'm like no, not really it was really easy to figure out and you know Jake Joan Hall and Henry Cavill, you know good energy good charisma 83% that ran to metals.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and the review the critics review Most of the critics say that it was lackluster
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: Critics describe it as stylish rapid fire, high-st movie.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: They criticize it's heavy reliance on exposition and lack of high stakes.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: But they call it like I said, stylish rapid fire.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: They even said what I said.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: Check your brain at the door and enjoy the ride.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: So did I?
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: burst into your review in any way shape or form and have to like go over and say why you were wrong.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: No, I didn't.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: I apologize.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm going to tell you why you're wrong.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, because there was no character development.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: It was boring.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: It was just it was too predictable.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: I figured it out within the first time minutes and after that I was kind of like, I know how this is going to end.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so other than that it was just it was okay.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: It was honestly if we're talking about and just a highlight One it because I don't know if I'm gonna get to this or not, but it was if it was if it was if the cast didn't work I would I would have probably pulled something out of this movie and been like and these are some of the worst castes ever seen It was just it was it was just it was okay.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean it just it wasn't
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: wasn't anything to write home about um you know i would wait for it to come out on video because again that's the thing you have to check your mind at the door right when you tell me that it's a mystery movie i'm not going to check my mind at the door when mystery is involved in part of what the description of it is an action adventure mystery
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: I want to think I want to know and when I figured out the mystery way too early, it was like I didn't I didn't see this as a mystery though.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't say hardcore mystery.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: I said when it's categorized an action thriller, mist action mystery thriller.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's what it's categorized.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: Mistris in the middle.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it's even a thriller, it's more of a, I mean, it's James Bond, a thriller, it's an espionage movie.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: But James Bond, but James Bond movies and Ian Fleming in his own right have more, have written more characters.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_00]: Well, be, yeah, because you're focusing on the one guy, two guys at the most, and then you know, you're focusing on.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's no character development in the Bond girls, they're just pretty what a nice body.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: or we'll get to that in a second.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, yeah.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: So like I said, wait for it to come out on video, wait for it to come out on streaming or whatever.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: I agree with you there.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like I'm gonna move back to the theater and see it.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: But when it hits streaming, I want you to again.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I agree with you there.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't agree with you.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: You have ever right to disagree with me?
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like I've said before, we're all entitled to, we're all dumb stupid about you.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's not, ah, I haven't talked about what I had.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: Cause I don't like when you say that.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not saying what you're saying is wrong.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's absolutely not.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: You saw a different thing.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: You saw a different thing.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: Angle of the Sun and Green Bay.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't matter where I saw it.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: They have good projectors.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't even matter.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't matter.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't even focus.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter where I saw it.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: And the location and nothing to do with it.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: If the story wasn't that, if I figured out the story within the first 10 minutes, that tells you how well-written it really was.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't written very well.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: Let's put it this way.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just be honest with each other here.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: you are a visual guy.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's what you are when it comes to movies because you always talk about the sound, the lighting, the this, the that.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it sounded a visual.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: I
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: auditory, visual, whatever, okay?
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: You're a sound and light sky.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: How's that?
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: Cinematography, all that stuff.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm the one that usually focuses on the story, the plot, and all this other stuff, because that's the stuff that I find interesting.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, everyone's in all you do comment on it, but I'm the one that usually breaks apart the whole thing and says, yeah, the story was kind of this.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: There wasn't much character development.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: There wasn't this.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: You don't normally do that because no, you don't.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: And not always.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: Because my favorite movies are, like, uh, pure old.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: which is, you know, that's all.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and tell me, Mr. McGoo is like a blockbuster.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: Mr. McGoo, don't diss my movie.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not dissing your movie.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying, you can't sit here and say that Mr. McGoo is like, even if it was on.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not going to be.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: You are not interesting.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: You want character development?
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: Over of a cartoon.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you want character development and Leslie Nielsen plays the lead and that's all we need to say about that every movie that he's been in Yes, has been like slapstick comedy type movie.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's never been in a serious movie.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a serious actor.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: He started out as a very serious Yeah, well guys what he's not famous for it.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: There's a reason well he is to people who known from there and there is a reason
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: He was in a lot of because he's a better comedian than he is.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay, he found the better niche.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we're going to agree that you're wrong and disagree, I mean.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, okay, right.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: Go see this movie, folks.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: And then I couldn't make comments on when you texted me that we were going to get the same page.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, nope, though, we're not.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen it already?
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: When I texted you?
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's all already when you texted me.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, because I thought this would be one that we'd agree on.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: We need comments.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: We need people to take a side here.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: not like we're not setting up a battle or anything but oh but we are because you just said we need comments well we yeah we literally just you literally just open Pandora's box thank you let's see let's see let's let's see if we've never done this but let's I'm gonna throw it out there oh we've done it it's just comments just never you've never you've never asked for comments I've given you comment I've given you feedback from all the other listeners about some of the things you have said before and
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: Right, now you want to do the thing you ever keep throwing out a bad man.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the only thing.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't even put him in my worst cast, which I should have, but I'm going to give you a break there.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's because you didn't want to get howly hell for everybody else.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's what you're talking about.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: Crazy.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: They would have said, Adam, why should be the worst cast?
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that
- 24:31[SPEAKER_00]: I really thought we'd look both like that, okay?
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry to disappoint you.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you have many times, not the first, not the last.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, don't be a Sally.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's okay.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: The marriage is off.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's the powering and looking off into the corner.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: And we're running out of the house.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's not even looking at me, right?
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: No, like it's like the wife that you just pissed off.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: The kids, you had a completely different opinion.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_00]: And now she's like, I don't want to talk to you.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be in the other room.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: You're not even in the room to me.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: I realize you're in the room, but you're not in the room to me.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be in the other room.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so move it on because literally somebody has their diapers and a twist.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: Worst castings, which I went back and I looked at things and we talked about castings before, but we said wrong castings.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: So this is kind of a little bit of a difference here, but we'll see if we go back to, and the way we talked about this kind of close, it could be the one.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: So, all right, so you may proceed and I will
- 25:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, well let's go let's go to the bottom of your thing.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I will say that'll never happen ever.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: We already know that as a matter of fact people have commented you're on son commented about how you talk over me But anyway, that's beside the point.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm gonna start first and I'm gonna go straight for a bond movie and I'm gonna go for the world is not enough a character by the name of Dr. Christmas Jones which was supposed to be a
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: What, I think she was a brilliant nuclear physicist, but because Denise Richards played her, all she was was like a 90s glam model.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's probably one of the worst bond cashings I've ever seen.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: Bond girl casings.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: And like you said, they're not supposed to be anything, they're not supposed to be whatever, but that is just wrong in and of itself.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: And there's nothing else we need to say about that.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm gonna piss a lot of people off, but that's okay because I've always felt this way.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: Hayden Christianson as Anakin Skywalker.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, see you heard it folks you heard him
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: him in attack of the clones was probably some of the worst acting I've ever seen in my life I don't disagree with you and it was just awkward and he was just he's just awkward and like you just sit there and you go okay I get that you he didn't play anything soft for Anakin everything he played was just like mean and maybe that's a direction that he was given and maybe that's what they wanted but it just it didn't work and I was just kind of like yeah
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: Not once.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: All right, um, moving on.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_00]: Um, there's some obvious ones.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, John Wayne as Genghis Khan.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think we've talked about that once before as a matter of fact.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but the one I really wanted to touch on and, and, and there are some people that are going to hate me for this and that's fine.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: Two things.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: First and foremost, I'm going to go this one.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to hate me for this.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: You might even agree with me on this.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: But being a fan of Anne Rice and loving all of the vampire novels that she wrote, I read almost all of them.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't gotten back to them.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: But I did read interview with the vampire.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_00]: I read it before I saw the film and I got to tell you what.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_00]: This is one of those situations where the book is better than the movie and it's because of flipping Tom Cruise.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_00]: Who in the world ever thought to cast him?
- 27:49[SPEAKER_00]: just you've got to be kidding me.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_00]: He's not listot at all.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's terrible.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: And he can't even break the surface of what listot is.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: So you know, whatever.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to say anything else.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: Tom Cruise just.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: And then last but not least, I'm going to go on to, I'm not going to say anything about the Reacher movies because that Tom Cruise and I've already talked about that.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: But I am going to move on to the fan of the opera, the film version of fan of the opera.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: I am a huge fan of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical and some of the other offshoot of it.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_00]: We're not talking about the universal Phantom, right?
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's a totally different story.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: A bit some pieces of it are intertwined in all of this.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: But Gerard Butler, as the Phantom, are you kidding me?
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like, ugh.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: A guise grain at some other movies.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: Don't come here wrong.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, no, no, sorry, and that's my list.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, it's a good list.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: I agree with you.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, you actually kept quiet for most of that.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_00]: That was so true.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: I would have said that.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's a good one.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: That's a first.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so I had John Wayne too as Genghis Khan.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, whoever came up with that idea should have been fired.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, but immediately.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: So here's the funny thing.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_00]: When you Google like worst castings, that comes up as number one, all the way around.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: Number one, number two, you know, it comes up number two.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's going back again, too.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: Is Mickey Rooney as the Chinese guy in breakfast at Tiffany.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: I left that one alone because I was like.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: Now, keep in mind that societal more days were different way back then for that character
- 29:40[SPEAKER_01]: But still, even if they were gonna do that character and get away with it, Mickey Rooney was the wrong guy for it anyway.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_00]: Well, but I mean, so let's be honest, if we're talking about what was going on in that time, right?
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: So back then, Mickey Rooney was fairly famous and like he was one of probably an a-lister, I would say.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: And the same thing could be said about John Wayne.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: He was an a-lister at the time, and they were like, well, we want John Wayne in this, because they wanted to pull in the box office.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: Right, absolutely.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's what that is.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so then I would go with, we'll come forward in time.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: Pamela Anderson in Naked Gun.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely does not do that role justice he's referring to the new the new naked gun with the Liam Neeson Who Liam Neeson did a good job?
- 30:33[SPEAKER_01]: Pamela Anderson had not a clue I mean Priscilla Presley was not an actress and she kind of played herself which made it that's what made it so good
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: in my opinion.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: Tom Hanks as Professor Landon in Da Vinci Cold.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: I read the book, I read the whole book before I went to go see the movie and I'll tell you a funny story about it in a second,
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: a seasoned guy like a Morgan Freeman and then when the movie came out and it was time I enjoyed the movie a lot.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the movie was really good and there's a lot of things that came out that I've in my life believed sometimes.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so it kind of validated some of my beliefs over my 20s and 30s but Tom Hanks just was to clean cut for the role in my opinion.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's my take and since you took my my my John Wayne I'm going to throw Michael Keaton back in his Batman and if you don't like it, I don't really care I'm done.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: Oh wait one more.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: I see I knew you weren't done one more.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: This one you you'll agree you'll agree with this one Rosaldano as Betty in the Flintstones
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: Betty was one of the hottest cartoon characters on TV, and to have Rosie O'Donnell play her in the movie.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: I thought to Cassie was wrong.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: Plus she had the Rosie O'Donnell attitude and persona, and the character in the Flintstones cartoon that I grew up, but Betty was very demure and very soft spoken, and Rosie didn't bring that to the character, in my opinion.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: So, that last one.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_00]: See, I think it's the perfect casting because I think it's the complete opposite of what Betty actually was.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it was done on purpose.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you can think that, but that doesn't make it right to take someone's personality and completely changes.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's because you feel like it.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't say it was right.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: I said I thought it was a good casting.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, well, you can think that all you want.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: John Goodman was good as Fred, and Rick Moranis was excellent as Barney.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_01]: Moranis, again, I talked to him every week.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's why you don't even know how to pronounce his lesson.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: He told me, he said, you know, everybody mispronounces my name except you.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, tell me, and then you woke up, and then I woke up.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like, would you did at the movie?
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's the show folks.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much for listening, watching, viewing, like, subscribe, go ahead and leave comments.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_00]: Leave comments.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he needs something better to do clearly than paying attention to what we're actually doing for the show.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, bye.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: And again, we're having fun here, we're not movie critics, we don't claim to be movie critics, we're just a couple of guys with media experience who also love movies, and so we thought this would be a fun thing to do.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: And you can disagree with us, that's okay.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you can disagree with Chris more than me.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I see.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: I knew I was waiting for it.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, here we go.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to say this.

- 34:04[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, that's the show folks.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see you again next week when we're going to review.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, the latest Star Wars, the Mandalorian movie.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll get into some great stuff as well too.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: We'll do some more wrong stuff.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe wrong director.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_00]: We're on costuming.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see exactly which we were going to go with that.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_00]: But that's the show.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_00]: And as always, make sure you save us some popcorn.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: Some cheesy popcorn.
