- 1:52Speaker 1: We'll see to my right, my dog, he will know

- 2:00Speaker 4: Listen? I'm still rolling with all right, Mike's the greatest.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Alright, I'm done. We ain't worry about that. But my
- 2:05Speaker 2: feet old schools about a double man. I hooped today
- 2:09Speaker 2: and these actually my feet kind of hurt right now,
- 2:11Speaker 2: I'll see why. Yeah, that's crazy. You look at them
- 2:14Speaker 2: old shoes.
- 2:14Speaker 1: And Niggas was probably geeked it like when they first
- 2:16Speaker 1: Like when I say my Niggas was geeked, but.
- 2:18Speaker 4: They was playing in chuck, so that ship was upgrade. Yeah, definitely,
- 2:21Speaker 4: but it's cool.
- 2:24Speaker 1: But to my left, you know what I'm saying, we
- 2:25Speaker 1: got a legend from the city song Winterer, Grammy Winner,

- 2:34Speaker 4: Put up the five twenty? You said, what I'm doing great?
- 2:36Speaker 5: Thanks for having me.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Hey, we appreciate you being here. We already started to
- 2:39Speaker 1: show with a frog question. You know what I'm saying.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Obviously you're into music. What's one song that you was like,
- 2:44Speaker 1: damn I wish I had, or he was a part
- 2:46Speaker 1: of and it maybe got switched up, or your dream song?
- 2:50Speaker 4: Oh that's a good I gave you a whole bunch
- 2:53Speaker 4: of options that you can't bound out.
- 2:55Speaker 5: Of that I wish I was a part of. I
- 3:02Speaker 5: want to say, like some Ratchet ship, but it's actually
- 3:06Speaker 5: probably any Lauren Hill song from this education of Warren Hill.
- 3:10Speaker 4: He's a big Laura Hill fan. Yeah, we just had
- 3:12Speaker 4: a very proud about.
- 3:13Speaker 5: Her good taste. Yeah, probably anything that I would have
- 3:19Speaker 5: loved to work on anything on that project, but I
- 3:23Speaker 5: was still such I was so young being influenced still
- 3:28Speaker 5: during that point.
- 3:29Speaker 4: So yeah, what was a Rats song? What the Ratch project?
- 3:34Speaker 5: A Ratchet project? Maybe some Ego ship early migos.
- 3:42Speaker 4: You was in a Lanta for that.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember they was doing Pokemon and shit, but uh,
- 3:47Speaker 1: I had a song called Pokemon.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I never forget it. Got to catch them all something
- 3:50Speaker 2: like that, But I've never heard a song about life.
- 3:52Speaker 2: It didn't come out, but damn na, I was going
- 3:56Speaker 2: to ask you. So, was it like Lauryn Hill from
- 3:58Speaker 2: Sister Act that got you? Because that's the only reason
- 4:00Speaker 2: I like Morehill be cause the Sister No, it was.
- 4:02Speaker 5: Like Laurence Hill. Laurence Hill. So the way I grew
- 4:05Speaker 5: up like I wasn't allowed to really listen to hip
- 4:09Speaker 5: hop music. So the way I heard hip hop music
- 4:13Speaker 5: was listening to my older brothers mixtapes and stuff. You know,
- 4:16Speaker 5: That's why I just discovered like three six Mafia Biggie
- 4:22Speaker 5: Tupac project, like literally all the.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Physic's Mafia. You gotta be from that project to DJ.
- 4:31Speaker 5: Black, yeah for sure. And so yeah, I gravitated towards Uh.
- 4:38Speaker 5: I listened. I grew up on a lot of different
- 4:39Speaker 5: type of music. I listened to music that people would
- 4:41Speaker 5: be like, quote unquote considered white people music. And then
- 4:45Speaker 5: also I gravitated towards Laurence Hill just because I loved
- 4:48Speaker 5: her tone and like she had like this deep, soulful
- 4:53Speaker 5: voice and that I wasn't used to hearing voices like
- 4:55Speaker 5: that because usually the girls they sound like real girly
- 4:58Speaker 5: and you know, feminine, and uh, so I loved her tone,
- 5:02Speaker 5: and I love the fact that she played guitar, and
- 5:04Speaker 5: I wanted to learn how to play guitar. So yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 5: that's why I gravitated towards her. But then Sister Act
- 5:09Speaker 5: though Sister Act is Fire is a fire movie. For sure?
- 5:14Speaker 4: Would you pay tickets for our concert?
- 5:16Speaker 5: Uh? What I paid tickets? I would? I would uh listen,
- 5:24Speaker 5: I've seen Lauren Hill before, it was for free, and
- 5:26Speaker 5: she did show up, she was there, I don't remember.
- 5:31Speaker 5: I don't think so. I don't think so. But I'm
- 5:35Speaker 5: definitely gonna support Laurren Hill like forever because she's been
- 5:39Speaker 5: a huge inspiration to me. So but I buy tickets. Yeah,
- 5:42Speaker 5: I buy tickets to Lawren Hill. Maybe not super in
- 5:44Speaker 5: advance like you buy Beyonce tickets super in advance, but
- 5:48Speaker 5: you know I would. I would definitely buy tickets to
- 5:50Speaker 5: see Lauren if they weren't free.
- 5:53Speaker 4: That's real. Yeah, I won't people with you. I don't
- 5:57Speaker 4: think she's gonna show up.
- 5:59Speaker 3: She does not trustworthy.
- 6:01Speaker 5: Surely she reimbursing though. If she don't want to show up,
- 6:04Speaker 5: surely that's out of pocket.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Though, yeah, I'm many that back.
- 6:07Speaker 1: If you know, that's like you getting booked for a
- 6:09Speaker 1: show and you just not pull it up and say hey,
- 6:11Speaker 1: I got your next time.
- 6:12Speaker 5: That would be crazy. That's a little crazy.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Fabric concert You ever been to my favorite? Oh yeah, uh.
- 6:22Speaker 3: That's a good one. Drake versus one just because they
- 6:27Speaker 3: they I'm a concert board so I've never seen a
- 6:32Speaker 3: battle in the concert with two major artists like that,
- 6:35Speaker 3: So that was different team.
- 6:38Speaker 5: I would say it would be between uh, Beyonce I've
- 6:46Speaker 5: seen her twice. Drake I did. I did pay for
- 6:53Speaker 5: those tickets. Drake Drake was pretty amazing. I saw him
- 6:56Speaker 5: in Houston and uh random experience. Oh Coldplay, I with that.
- 7:05Speaker 4: That ship was fire bullshit though it was, it was.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Up and there.
- 7:10Speaker 5: No, I was like backstate Wool because her she I
- 7:14Speaker 5: was just went on tour with her, not even I
- 7:16Speaker 5: wasn't even performing. I just got on the tour bus
- 7:18Speaker 5: just to go on tour with her and cold Play.
- 7:21Speaker 5: I will go to the shows. And that was like
- 7:22Speaker 5: one of my favorite bands growing up because I told you,
- 7:26Speaker 5: I want a lot to listen about music. So I
- 7:28Speaker 5: was listening to the bands and Ship, so I was
- 7:30Speaker 5: listening to cold Play so that that was amazing. Cold Play,
- 7:35Speaker 5: fallout Boy, those were dope concerts.
- 7:38Speaker 2: I ain't going no call out fallout Boy, play, I
- 7:44Speaker 2: ain't messing with the best. I did me too at
- 7:50Speaker 2: that just tipulator, I get them in the backtrat boys
- 7:53Speaker 2: mixing up. Yeah, but I went to I went to
- 7:57Speaker 2: a jay Z ANDZ concert. That's probably my favorite concert.
- 8:01Speaker 2: And then the rong Wave concert was damn that was special.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Bro shouts about that here you bro. He took me
- 8:10Speaker 2: to the Right Way because I did take out. He
- 8:14Speaker 2: inspired me to go and I had a great time
- 8:17Speaker 2: at Right Way. I was crying happy all at one time.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I ain't never been.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Won that concert so bad, I said, I don't know
- 8:26Speaker 4: what emotion I have right now. It was like I
- 8:29Speaker 4: played for the patients. It has never been to spitting
- 8:31Speaker 4: people here. On the personal it was a couple of
- 8:36Speaker 4: games when we was in the playoffs, it was like that.
- 8:38Speaker 3: But then it got crazy that mother I personally now
- 8:42Speaker 3: the Roight Wave. I've never been to a concert where
- 8:45Speaker 3: motherfucker son word for word from the beginning to the
- 8:47Speaker 3: end of somebody on stage shouting to be honest, I
- 8:51Speaker 3: swear like no disrespect. But that was just kind of different.
- 8:55Speaker 5: I think Wave has that he has like this following,
- 9:00Speaker 5: like it's like you either love him. He got people
- 9:04Speaker 5: that really mess with him because deep emotional music and
- 9:08Speaker 5: so when you those are the kind of people that's
- 9:10Speaker 5: gonna buy tickets to the concert. They're not just like
- 9:12Speaker 5: listening passively on Spotify or whatever. So, yeah, what.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Sures did Jay ship one of is that together that
- 9:22Speaker 4: that Drake NICKI and Ross, I mean I d.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Be Rick Ross was dimmer the opener, and he just
- 9:32Speaker 1: got up there with a backdrop and just did the
- 9:34Speaker 1: whole techlon all the way through and got off stage.
- 9:36Speaker 4: It was fire as that was.
- 9:37Speaker 5: Homecoming, right, I remember that. I used to have the
- 9:40Speaker 5: craziest homecoming performances.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Oh yeah, my niggah. We was on that bus wild.
- 9:47Speaker 4: Tell us more about that.
- 9:49Speaker 1: We ain't talking about it, but y to start getting
- 9:54Speaker 1: that in the stories.
- 9:58Speaker 4: Situations.
- 9:59Speaker 1: No, Someboddy, but that was like prime Nikki too, And
- 10:02Speaker 1: like Nikki about to have an album come out next
- 10:03Speaker 1: week and ain't nobody talking about it.
- 10:05Speaker 4: She's not, but I mean she is.
- 10:08Speaker 5: She had.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I used to love Nikki. I know that was my
- 10:11Speaker 1: favorite girl in the world. I think I wanted to
- 10:13Speaker 1: her female all time.
- 10:15Speaker 4: About I think so too.
- 10:18Speaker 3: I think I was just keeping this music. You're not
- 10:23Speaker 3: a little horny horn horn over there.
- 10:26Speaker 4: I used to have a Nikki shirt with a little
- 10:28Speaker 4: cheeks was out. But she's so unique, that's what you say.
- 10:34Speaker 5: She's so unique?
- 10:35Speaker 4: Yeah she is.
- 10:36Speaker 5: She got a beautiful look. She beautiful and she people
- 10:40Speaker 5: trying to shoot on Nikki like that.
- 10:42Speaker 3: I don't think she looked. It's the ship that comes
- 10:47Speaker 3: with her.
- 10:47Speaker 5: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 10:49Speaker 3: It's the whole, her husband, all that ship. It's kind
- 10:51Speaker 3: of like she married.
- 10:54Speaker 4: No disrespect my boy. He said, damn, I don't want
- 10:59Speaker 4: know she man.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Just that changed. I feel like that changed her career
- 11:04Speaker 3: for real, like when she got with him and people
- 11:06Speaker 3: started finding out like.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Who he was, and honestly, on top of that, when
- 11:11Speaker 4: she left Sofari, she got different. He wrote her boss. Yeah,
- 11:16Speaker 4: some of it. I don't think he contributed. I'm not
- 11:18Speaker 4: gonna say she's talented, but he definitely contributed.
- 11:21Speaker 5: I think people try to try to pin try to
- 11:23Speaker 5: pin people against Nikki and other and other, you know,
- 11:27Speaker 5: female rappers. I think I think people do that when like,
- 11:31Speaker 5: you know, somebody else come out, especially with women, like
- 11:34Speaker 5: female artists, they try to like, don't know, I ever
- 11:36Speaker 5: see like somebody trying to pin Taylor Swift against I
- 11:40Speaker 5: don't know, another one of these white girls.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Girl Taylor Swift from Britney Spears.
- 11:45Speaker 4: We don't.
- 11:47Speaker 3: That's a that's what. That's the black community trying to
- 11:50Speaker 3: discredit the motherfucker trying to nitpick right.
- 11:53Speaker 5: And act like it's only one person who can exist
- 11:55Speaker 5: in that space. And so I feel like they really
- 11:57Speaker 5: try to amb up that whole whatever.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Fucked up the music industry.
- 12:01Speaker 5: It did, it really did.
- 12:03Speaker 3: But how you feel about writing though, Like, I know
- 12:05Speaker 3: you clearly you look at it as you helping the
- 12:08Speaker 3: artists become better or whatever. But look, what's your take
- 12:11Speaker 3: on writing? Do you prefer writing or performing?
- 12:14Speaker 5: My take on writing, Yeah, I prefer performing. I don't
- 12:18Speaker 5: really like so like I started writing by accident a
- 12:22Speaker 5: little bit, because you know, I did the song with
- 12:25Speaker 5: Walle Bad that people know, and I put that song
- 12:29Speaker 5: on YouTube like as my own song when I was
- 12:32Speaker 5: in college, and it just so happened that Walle wanted
- 12:38Speaker 5: to use that song for a single. So after, you know,
- 12:44Speaker 5: Walle and I kind of fell out after that song,
- 12:47Speaker 5: and then I went and signed a deal with Interscope
- 12:51Speaker 5: and it just like I didn't love it there. I
- 12:55Speaker 5: feel like they wanted me to be on some like
- 12:58Speaker 5: I was on my stoner like bad girl shit, acoustic shit,
- 13:04Speaker 5: and I feel like they wanted me to be on
- 13:07Speaker 5: like some I don't know, a little bit more corny
- 13:11Speaker 5: than like a little bit more corny than what I
- 13:13Speaker 5: wanted to do. They didn't like the whole stoner shit
- 13:15Speaker 5: because they didn't realize like a whole wave of that
- 13:19Speaker 5: was about to come, Yeah for sure exactly, And so
- 13:23Speaker 5: I was kind of just trying to figure my life out.
- 13:26Speaker 5: While I was at Innerscope. I put out a couple
- 13:29Speaker 5: of projects. I put out a project that was kind
- 13:31Speaker 5: of like different from what people knew me as on
- 13:36Speaker 5: my acoustic raw shit, and so yeah, I was just
- 13:41Speaker 5: trying to figure it out. And in the meantime, I
- 13:43Speaker 5: had gotten a new management company and at the time
- 13:47Speaker 5: her was her wasn't even thought of her name. Her
- 13:51Speaker 5: name is Gappy, but she wasn't even thought that name
- 13:54Speaker 5: wasn't even thought of.
- 13:55Speaker 4: She was like fifteen.
- 13:58Speaker 5: I want to say to thousand and fifteen, I was.
- 14:04Speaker 5: I signed with Rico. Yeah, through in a sco we
- 14:06Speaker 5: go love with the show. Yeah yeah, shout out to Rico. Uh,
- 14:13Speaker 5: he's super talented writer. But I think I just think
- 14:16Speaker 5: our chemistry like we just didn't mix over there at
- 14:18Speaker 5: the label. And as someone who he was a writer producer,
- 14:22Speaker 5: I'm a writer producer.
- 14:24Speaker 4: It, you know, I can understand.
- 14:27Speaker 5: So anyway, I met her, Gabby, she was like fifteen,
- 14:32Speaker 5: and uh, we had to say management and she was
- 14:36Speaker 5: just kind of like she was fired. I started playing
- 14:39Speaker 5: guitar and singing. One day, she the first day I
- 14:41Speaker 5: met her, I walked in the studio and she was
- 14:44Speaker 5: in there, playing like Aliyah on the guitar, and I
- 14:47Speaker 5: was like, damn, she's fired. And I just love when
- 14:51Speaker 5: artists are fired, Like I just be wanting other people
- 14:54Speaker 5: to see them. I'm like, damn, Like she this little
- 14:56Speaker 5: fifteen year old girl, she got a tone like this.
- 14:58Speaker 5: So I started write music with her, and her ship
- 15:04Speaker 5: just took off. And so like all that ship, all
- 15:07Speaker 5: that her ship was just like kind of by accident.
- 15:10Speaker 5: We just have a very organic writing relationship, and so
- 15:15Speaker 5: it just so happened that I just wrote all these
- 15:17Speaker 5: songs with her, like I was the last album that
- 15:19Speaker 5: she put out, Like, I wrote maybe eleven songs on
- 15:23Speaker 5: there with her. We would just it would just be
- 15:25Speaker 5: us two in the studio for hours, just vibing out.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Was part of Damage.
- 15:30Speaker 5: Yeah, yep, Damage, come Through, Come Through. I wrote come
- 15:37Speaker 5: Through when I was I wrote come Through, like damn
- 15:40Speaker 5: near six years ago. I was I was like mad
- 15:43Speaker 5: depressed at the time, and I was trying to figure
- 15:44Speaker 5: out what I was going to do with my life.
- 15:46Speaker 5: And I remember I was in the closet. I was
- 15:51Speaker 5: literally inside of my closet and in the dark, and
- 15:55Speaker 5: I was mad depressed at this time in my life,
- 15:58Speaker 5: and I was just trying to think of something cool
- 16:01Speaker 5: and somebody sent me this guitar loop First Come Through
- 16:05Speaker 5: featuring Chris Brown. It didn't have Chris Brown on it
- 16:07Speaker 5: at the time, obviously, but I just started coming up
- 16:11Speaker 5: with this fly like it was fly they won't tell
- 16:14Speaker 5: because they trying to live their best life too. Yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 5: So I was like okay, yeah, so I was like
- 16:20Speaker 5: that shit hard. But at the time, like as an artist,
- 16:24Speaker 5: sometimes when you do something you don't know that it's dope.
- 16:28Speaker 5: I mean like I knew that it was dope, but
- 16:31Speaker 5: it's like, yeah, you don't be believing sometimes until like hella,
- 16:36Speaker 5: other people say, oh, this shit is fired. But when
- 16:38Speaker 5: I heard it, when I did it, I was like
- 16:40Speaker 5: that that's fire. And I was like, Yo, my pant's crazy,
- 16:43Speaker 5: and I that song. I just set on that song
- 16:45Speaker 5: for a long time, and then I was in the
- 16:47Speaker 5: studio with her one day and I was like, yo,
- 16:48Speaker 5: listen to this song, and she was like, that's fire,
- 16:52Speaker 5: and she wanted to cut it, and she cut the song,
- 16:56Speaker 5: and then the next time we never talked about it
- 16:59Speaker 5: again because we just be writing hell of songs, so
- 17:02Speaker 5: we never talked about the song again. But my manager
- 17:04Speaker 5: came in the studio like two years later and he
- 17:07Speaker 5: was like, yo, I want you to hear something. He
- 17:08Speaker 5: played the song and it had Chris Brown on it.
- 17:10Speaker 5: We know how Chris Brown got on it. He was
- 17:13Speaker 5: just on it, and so we were like cool.
- 17:14Speaker 4: So they just went with that.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I was gonna use that as
- 17:20Speaker 5: one of my singles because but I felt like I
- 17:22Speaker 5: sent it around to a couple of people. I sent
- 17:24Speaker 5: it to my management and they were like, yeah, this
- 17:26Speaker 5: is cool, but they weren't like hype, and I was
- 17:29Speaker 5: just like, no, this ship is fire.
- 17:34Speaker 4: It did it.
- 17:35Speaker 5: I Mean that's how it be though, Like that's really
- 17:39Speaker 5: how it be in the music industry. Like you might
- 17:41Speaker 5: write some ship that's fire and somebody here and they'd
- 17:45Speaker 5: be like, yeah, this is cool, and you kind of think, dang,
- 17:49Speaker 5: maybe it's just cool, and then it come up a
- 17:53Speaker 5: couple of years later and everybody confirms that this ship
- 17:58Speaker 5: is fire and and they're like, oh, this is fire.
- 18:01Speaker 4: But that's just how it be, Like that's just the game.
- 18:04Speaker 4: You know, it's crazy if you think about it. Every
- 18:06Speaker 4: good song has got passed on. Everything got passed on.
- 18:08Speaker 1: It's crazy that somebody made this far and it took
- 18:11Speaker 1: the right person, the right circumstance to get to that exactly.
- 18:13Speaker 1: But with you been a writer, I always wondered, like,
- 18:15Speaker 1: you know, obviously in rap niggas getting ridiculed if you
- 18:18Speaker 1: write for somebody else, bars like they they nothing on you.
- 18:21Speaker 4: With it being R and B and a double genres
- 18:24Speaker 4: of music.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Where that's more welcome with today's accessibility to put out
- 18:28Speaker 1: your own music, or like having different platforms to where
- 18:30Speaker 1: you can be your own manager, your own label. Right
- 18:32Speaker 1: now everybody can hear your music go viral. Now would
- 18:35Speaker 1: you fl differently being a writer if you came out
- 18:37Speaker 1: in this era?
- 18:40Speaker 5: I think, uh, I'm not. I don't regret like any
- 18:45Speaker 5: how anything went, because I think my career like has
- 18:50Speaker 5: worked out well. It wasn't how I expected, but it
- 18:54Speaker 5: was like, oh okay, it's not gonna go that way,
- 18:56Speaker 5: but okay, okay, that's cool, So so I don't regret it.
- 19:02Speaker 5: I don't regret how anything went. And also what I
- 19:05Speaker 5: do understand as a writer, as a singer songwriter, is
- 19:11Speaker 5: that sometimes you have a song, and I wanted to.
- 19:16Speaker 5: I wanted her to hear this song in particular, come through.
- 19:20Speaker 5: I thought it would be a bigger song if she
- 19:23Speaker 5: sang it.
- 19:23Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true.
- 19:25Speaker 5: And with the with the place that I was at
- 19:27Speaker 5: in my career at the time, I thought it would
- 19:29Speaker 5: be a bigger song if she sang it. And so now, yeah,
- 19:35Speaker 5: now it's a different it's a different time in music.
- 19:37Speaker 5: You don't need a label. You can just personally hire
- 19:40Speaker 5: all these people that the label hires, because that's what
- 19:42Speaker 5: they do. They just they hire social media marketers and
- 19:48Speaker 5: all these different people, and you know, and the artists
- 19:51Speaker 5: can do that themselves independently now if you got the
- 19:53Speaker 5: bread to do it. So definitely, I've been doing a
- 19:56Speaker 5: lot less writing for other artists because I've a publishing deal.
- 20:01Speaker 4: So nice.
- 20:02Speaker 5: I get opportunities to don't call me and be like, yo,
- 20:05Speaker 5: you want to work with so and so, And if
- 20:08Speaker 5: I don't want to work with them, I don't. I
- 20:09Speaker 5: don't work with them. If I think they're dope, if
- 20:12Speaker 5: I like their voice, if I like their vibe, then
- 20:14Speaker 5: I'm like, okay, cool, I'll go fuck with them. But yeah,
- 20:20Speaker 5: there's a lot of stuff that I keep to myself.
- 20:23Speaker 5: I keep to myself.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Now, what was the biggest lesson you learned from that
- 20:26Speaker 3: bad record?
- 20:26Speaker 5: Though from bad those bad was very it was very
- 20:35Speaker 5: interesting because I felt like I didn't now ten years
- 20:46Speaker 5: more than ten years later, a little bit more than
- 20:48Speaker 5: ten years later, I look back and I realized I
- 20:51Speaker 5: didn't enjoy that moment like I like an artist should
- 20:56Speaker 5: enjoy their first song being on the radio, right, I
- 21:00Speaker 5: didn't enjoy it. I think there was a lot of
- 21:04Speaker 5: drama surrounding the song. I think, maybe also coming from Indiana,
- 21:12Speaker 5: I didn't know anything about the music industry at the time.
- 21:15Speaker 5: I didn't know how anything worked, and so some things
- 21:18Speaker 5: I may have taken personally or I just didn't understand
- 21:24Speaker 5: until several years later. But I'm happy that that the
- 21:33Speaker 5: song turned out the way it did, that it was
- 21:35Speaker 5: my song, and then Walla ended up using a hit
- 21:39Speaker 5: as his song. I know during that time when Walle
- 21:42Speaker 5: was with Atlantic, and I don't even know if I'm
- 21:45Speaker 5: supposed to say this, but I mean, it's just a facts.
- 21:48Speaker 5: All I can do is just say the facts. They
- 21:51Speaker 5: At the time, it wasn't popular to have an unsigned
- 21:55Speaker 5: artist on your song. Now, any type of artists don't
- 21:59Speaker 5: have to be sign you can you know, be on
- 22:01Speaker 5: the radio. Nobody, you know, nobody cares. But at the
- 22:04Speaker 5: time they were this song that it was was already
- 22:07Speaker 5: on my YouTube for like, you know, two years. Maybe
- 22:10Speaker 5: they were trying to find somebody else to sing it
- 22:14Speaker 5: and the hook, so they was they I heard, you know,
- 22:18Speaker 5: I heard Kelly Rowland's name thrown out there. I heard
- 22:21Speaker 5: Cassie's name thrown out there. But initially it was my
- 22:27Speaker 5: voice that stayed on the song because I wrote and
- 22:32Speaker 5: co produce a song, so.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Publishing money.
- 22:37Speaker 5: Yeah, and then you know, as you know, the Bad
- 22:39Speaker 5: Remix came out with Rihanna, and that's that's what I
- 22:42Speaker 5: really didn't understand at the time, was owning publishing on
- 22:46Speaker 5: a song and then having an artist as big as
- 22:49Speaker 5: Rihanna sing your song. Like when a Ship first came
- 22:53Speaker 5: out and I first heard Rihanna was on that joint,
- 22:56Speaker 5: I was like, hold on, where'd you a.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Lit?
- 23:02Speaker 1: Nah?
- 23:02Speaker 5: I was, I was saltyre here's it? Because yeah, I
- 23:08Speaker 5: was salty because it wasn't long lived.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Here's the thing.
- 23:13Speaker 5: I'm a Rihanna fan. That's who I listened to in college.
- 23:17Speaker 5: I had a haircut that was inspired by Rihanna. Like
- 23:21Speaker 5: Rihanna albums, Like I will still say to this day,
- 23:24Speaker 5: out of all singers, I think Rihanna has the most
- 23:27Speaker 5: well put together albums.
- 23:30Speaker 4: What's your favorite album?
- 23:31Speaker 1: Uh?
- 23:32Speaker 5: Maybe Anti?
- 23:34Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 23:35Speaker 5: Could she'd just be having everything on that joint, like
- 23:37Speaker 5: she's gonna cover all the all the basses. And so
- 23:41Speaker 5: I was just I was very inspired by Rihanna. I
- 23:44Speaker 5: loved Rihanna, and uh so when she sang my song,
- 23:47Speaker 5: all I saw was online like as somebody who's like
- 23:51Speaker 5: a nobody from Indiana and then you get online and
- 23:53Speaker 5: you hear all these people talking like you just not.
- 23:56Speaker 5: I wasn't prepared for that, you know, and they were like, oh,
- 23:58Speaker 5: Rihanna's soyo song, And I was like, what the heck?
- 24:02Speaker 5: And uh, I know me and me and while they
- 24:04Speaker 5: were beefing at the time, and so he had called
- 24:07Speaker 5: me maybe like a couple of days before that song
- 24:10Speaker 5: came out, and you know, he's trying to clean it
- 24:13Speaker 5: up a little bit because you know that remix was
- 24:14Speaker 5: about to come out. He was like basically they was
- 24:17Speaker 5: in a club. While they had a section in the club,
- 24:19Speaker 5: Rihanna had a section in the club and Rihanna was
- 24:22Speaker 5: like the dad came on and Rihanna was like, I
- 24:25Speaker 5: want to sing that song, and so he was like, yo, come,
- 24:29Speaker 5: you know, come sing a remix. And so yeah, when
- 24:34Speaker 5: a joint came out, I heard it when everybody else
- 24:36Speaker 5: heard it, and I was like, damn, Rihanna on my song.
- 24:41Speaker 5: And I was salty at the time. And I think
- 24:43Speaker 5: I was just salty because you know, me and while
- 24:46Speaker 5: were beefing, and I felt like it was something behind that,
- 24:49Speaker 5: you know, the reason why Rihanna was on my song. Yeah,
- 24:54Speaker 5: And then when I saw that the song actually blew
- 24:58Speaker 5: up because Rihanna was on on a joint, I was like,
- 25:02Speaker 5: and I still own the song. I was like, hold
- 25:05Speaker 5: on now, yeah. I was like, now, who else can
- 25:08Speaker 5: we get on the song? Taylor Swift one up? I
- 25:16Speaker 5: want to get a verse on the song. Yeah. So
- 25:19Speaker 5: when I when I realized, like really, how that worked,
- 25:22Speaker 5: and then actually really once I like kind of stepped
- 25:25Speaker 5: out of my ego and listened to the song, I
- 25:30Speaker 5: was like, Yo, Rihanna singing a joint just like me.
- 25:34Speaker 5: She didn't switch up, how like she sing that like me?
- 25:36Speaker 5: She like how I sing it? And uh, and so
- 25:40Speaker 5: h yeah, and so I was like, and also, this
- 25:43Speaker 5: is one of my favorite artists at the time, so
- 25:46Speaker 5: I was like, yeah, that's that's actually pretty dope. And
- 25:49Speaker 5: so and it worked out for me. And still like,
- 25:52Speaker 5: the original of Bad is the original, and you know,
- 25:58Speaker 5: I think that's the version that people gravitate towards. Although
- 26:02Speaker 5: you know Rihanna seeing the remix, So that's pretty cool
- 26:05Speaker 5: that I have Rihanna writing credit under under my belt.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Straight up.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Now, that's fine.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Like you said, you're getting used to the business acleiment
- 26:14Speaker 1: of doing something that you love. It's a hell up
- 26:16Speaker 1: a switch up because Wilet probably in some instances was
- 26:19Speaker 1: just kind of like, this is business, and then you realize, oh,
- 26:21Speaker 1: a lot of people get these situations to where oh,
- 26:24Speaker 1: this is normal, kind of like how we did with podcasting,
- 26:26Speaker 1: and we thought once we got to a points, you know,
- 26:28Speaker 1: business kind of picked up.
- 26:29Speaker 4: We thought things would go a little bit different.
- 26:31Speaker 1: They were a little bit drawn out, but like to
- 26:33Speaker 1: see all his fire reels that we didn't have on
- 26:35Speaker 1: YouTube doing like millions of views, just like how.
- 26:38Speaker 4: We made that from it.
- 26:40Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I mean it's really about it's really about discovery.
- 26:47Speaker 5: People people discovering and sometimes like not all the time
- 26:52Speaker 5: sometimes like that that should be Really.
- 26:55Speaker 4: It's the best publicity.
- 26:57Speaker 5: It was, it really was, it really was.
- 27:00Speaker 3: I put you in different rooms for real, because now
- 27:01Speaker 3: my fuckers want to know who really behind the song.
- 27:03Speaker 5: And the only thing is, like I would you ask
- 27:06Speaker 5: me what my my biggest take lesson from that, I
- 27:08Speaker 5: wish I would have taken advantage of that more instead
- 27:12Speaker 5: of realizing, like you know, nowadays, some people like they
- 27:16Speaker 5: like the even whether it's positive attention or negative attention,
- 27:19Speaker 5: like I took the negative attention, and I like, I
- 27:21Speaker 5: took you personal when really because I didn't know at
- 27:24Speaker 5: the time, like, yo, you better use this as the
- 27:27Speaker 5: opportunity to catapult herself and like you know exactly. Yeah,
- 27:34Speaker 5: So I think that's one thing that I wish I
- 27:37Speaker 5: would have done better. But I was young, very young
- 27:40Speaker 5: at the time, like I said, from Indiana, I don't
- 27:42Speaker 5: know anything about the industry. So I wish I just
- 27:44Speaker 5: would have you know, Noody really got Yeah, I didn't
- 27:48Speaker 5: have anybody to get me.
- 27:49Speaker 3: It was literally yeah, you and him straighten out though, right.
- 27:52Speaker 5: Yeah, So he hit up my his people hit up
- 27:55Speaker 5: my people, like a couple of weeks ago, I did
- 27:59Speaker 5: a show. I did a song on Victoria and Victoria
- 28:02Speaker 5: Mone's tour. I sang bad and uh my manager hit
- 28:06Speaker 5: me upon was like, yo, Whalley said, he wants you
- 28:08Speaker 5: to come to DC and do uh do bad. So
- 28:11Speaker 5: I did that like two weeks ago. And that's the
- 28:14Speaker 5: first time I saw Wala in like several years, ten
- 28:19Speaker 5: plus years, and for definitely the first time I performed
- 28:21Speaker 5: it with him in like ten plus years. So that
- 28:24Speaker 5: was cool.
- 28:25Speaker 3: That's a good energy.
- 28:27Speaker 4: That's far. I mean, you know what I'm saying that
- 28:28Speaker 4: I got that back right.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I gotta ask you, what is your favorite concert that
- 28:31Speaker 1: you performed at, Like your favorite setting that you're doing.
- 28:34Speaker 4: Like, I know you've been on a lot of different stages.
- 28:36Speaker 4: What's the most memorable one?
- 28:38Speaker 5: Hmmm, my most memorable? I don't know. I think all
- 28:46Speaker 5: this shit's been pretty fun. I was on I think
- 28:48Speaker 5: it's cool that. I mean, I was on tour and
- 28:50Speaker 5: Push Your Tea and I was so random, but definitely, yeah,
- 28:54Speaker 5: that was it was pushing TA and be A before
- 28:56Speaker 5: Bea like really got cracking.
- 28:58Speaker 4: Was Coke on the tour, not that.
- 29:01Speaker 5: I know, No, he wasn't.
- 29:03Speaker 4: He was mad cool, but I was following right there. Yeah,
- 29:06Speaker 4: for sure.
- 29:09Speaker 5: I do.
- 29:10Speaker 4: But man, right here with Coke Verse, I'm gonna go crazy.
- 29:12Speaker 4: We need it.
- 29:13Speaker 5: But yeah, I was on tour and Push Your Tea
- 29:15Speaker 5: and that ship was cool because like I was on
- 29:17Speaker 5: a rap concert and like that was that was fire,
- 29:20Speaker 5: and I thought being on tour with her was pretty fun.
- 29:23Speaker 5: That's when I got to travel the world. I had
- 29:24Speaker 5: never left the country and never had a passport, so
- 29:27Speaker 5: I was like bouncing. I was in Germany, I was
- 29:30Speaker 5: in Paris, I was I was going, So that shit
- 29:33Speaker 5: was crazy. So yeah, that was fun to just traveling
- 29:37Speaker 5: and just experiencing life. So it's just cool to be
- 29:41Speaker 5: in different countries and ship and people be singing your songs.
- 29:44Speaker 5: They don't even speak English that well, but they know
- 29:46Speaker 5: I know the words to your songs. So I don't know.
- 29:51Speaker 5: I just I like being on stage. I like performing.
- 29:53Speaker 5: I'm looking forward to getting back to that.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Don't turn into Lauren Hill. Goddamn, nah, pull up your inspiration.
- 30:02Speaker 4: She was on time today though.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I was a little bit late today, but I
- 30:08Speaker 5: usually yeah, I'm usually like very Yeah, I'm punctual, like
- 30:12Speaker 5: I try to be professional. You know, I haven't had
- 30:14Speaker 5: i had like one media training back in twenty thirteen.
- 30:19Speaker 5: But I'll be sure. I'm a communications major, so like
- 30:22Speaker 5: i'd be trying to like, you know you sure, I
- 30:25Speaker 5: was just fucking with you professional.
- 30:29Speaker 4: Want to get the updated a little bit different things.
- 30:32Speaker 4: You can't say that you can say.
- 30:34Speaker 5: I realized that. I realized that. But it's cool. Yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 5: I just thought I might have to put out there, y'all.
- 30:39Speaker 5: I don't got the media training.
- 30:40Speaker 4: It's just me.
- 30:41Speaker 5: It's just me and my thoughts for sure.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Yeah, you said you was a basketball fan before we
- 30:46Speaker 4: got on the show. We got on here.
- 30:48Speaker 5: I like basketball.
- 30:49Speaker 2: You telling me your cousin was Isaiah Thomas. Isaiah Thomas
- 30:51Speaker 2: got a little history, made cuts me out.
- 30:53Speaker 5: One day I heard he said you was trashed and
- 30:57Speaker 5: you said he was trashed.
- 30:57Speaker 4: Yeah, we had a little back and forth.
- 30:59Speaker 5: Yeah that is my cousin. Uh so I discovered this.
- 31:07Speaker 5: So my grandma and granddaddy had twenty kids together.
- 31:11Speaker 4: Goddamn.
- 31:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:15Speaker 5: Yeah, so my daddy, Yeah, I think my daddy is
- 31:19Speaker 5: number seventeen. And my daddy's brother, my uncle Jimmy is
- 31:25Speaker 5: is so my uncle Jimmy, my daddy's brother. His son
- 31:30Speaker 5: is Keith Isaiah's daddy. And so anyway, I knew Isaiah
- 31:35Speaker 5: was my cousin when he played for the Sacramento Kings.
- 31:39Speaker 5: I was like, that's your cousin. He plays professional basketball
- 31:42Speaker 5: whatever blah blah blah blah blah. I was like, oh cool,
- 31:44Speaker 5: So yes, I'm a basketball fan. I liked basketball. Used
- 31:48Speaker 5: I used to play. I played point, as you can see.
- 31:56Speaker 4: Was nice.
- 31:57Speaker 5: I mean getting dragged listen, it was a long listen,
- 32:01Speaker 5: it was a long time. I can shoot. Okay, I
- 32:06Speaker 5: can shoot. I can shoot. I got bad knees at
- 32:09Speaker 5: this point in ankle.
- 32:16Speaker 4: That I gotta look up the line maybe.
- 32:24Speaker 5: I'm gonna do my ancestry dot com. But I stopped hooping.
- 32:30Speaker 5: I gave up my hoop dreams for show Choir when
- 32:34Speaker 5: I realized, I mean, because it was girls that was hooping,
- 32:38Speaker 5: like you can tell they was like playing with niggas
- 32:40Speaker 5: growing up. You know what I'm saying, Like, yeah, they
- 32:43Speaker 5: was hooping like that.
- 32:44Speaker 3: And so.
- 32:46Speaker 5: When I realized I liked music and I was very
- 32:48Speaker 5: invested in music. Then I started doing show Choir track.
- 32:52Speaker 5: You know, I ran track. I got dusted in track
- 32:57Speaker 5: a little bit though. All together, I wasn't I wasn't slow.
- 33:03Speaker 5: I wasn't slow. But you know them girls that just
- 33:06Speaker 5: be having a when you be on a what you
- 33:09Speaker 5: call when you be on the starting line and you
- 33:11Speaker 5: about to uh you in the starting box or whatever.
- 33:14Speaker 5: I could just tell you know, them bitches they had
- 33:16Speaker 5: their thighs was just big.
- 33:19Speaker 3: They had for the life.
- 33:20Speaker 4: Yeah they did.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Their thighs was big. And they was just like they
- 33:25Speaker 5: had me in the sprints to you know, like hundred serious. Yeah,
- 33:28Speaker 5: they were serious. They were serious like the girls they was.
- 33:32Speaker 5: They was wearing Jordan's yeah, and they went but they
- 33:37Speaker 5: weren't playing. They yeah, they weren't playing.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I was. I was.
- 33:44Speaker 4: I was they had to go to I was.
- 33:49Speaker 5: I was racing against bitches and threes and they wasn't.
- 33:52Speaker 5: They wasn't playing.
- 33:54Speaker 6: Yeah that.
- 33:59Speaker 4: You just said.
- 34:05Speaker 5: To make you have the nice spikes too. I was
- 34:12Speaker 5: getting Yeah, I was getting dusted a little bit. Yeah,
- 34:21Speaker 5: but found I found my niche. I found my with music.
- 34:25Speaker 5: So I was like, you know, let me decide, let
- 34:27Speaker 5: me I can still like you know, I got little
- 34:29Speaker 5: handles and I can shoot, and you know I can
- 34:33Speaker 5: run from somebody who trying to get me. But you know,
- 34:36Speaker 5: I just decided to chill out on the sports a
- 34:38Speaker 5: little bit. But I played when I was in middle school,
- 34:43Speaker 5: and I, like I said, I probably would have took
- 34:45Speaker 5: it more seriously in high school had I not been
- 34:47Speaker 5: super involved in show choir. And it was like glee club.
- 34:50Speaker 5: It was serious. Craig. It ain't Craig no more. It's
- 34:57Speaker 5: just office buildings.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Okay, we played Craig. Mike and Mike and Greg went
- 35:03Speaker 4: to Craig. What was it?
- 35:04Speaker 3: What's your other.
- 35:05Speaker 4: School that fall Creek?
- 35:07Speaker 5: Ye? Yeah, I went to high school with Greg Olden.
- 35:11Speaker 5: I can specifically remember like walking through the hallways and
- 35:15Speaker 5: it was just like the students and Greg, you know,
- 35:20Speaker 5: he was just sticking out. Yeah, that was crazy. But yeah,
- 35:23Speaker 5: I went to middle school and high school Greg Olden.
- 35:25Speaker 5: I thought that was pretty cool.
- 35:26Speaker 3: But how was those days that ling with them? There

- 35:48Speaker 3: Shout to my nigga, Brandon mc fish and that's my dog.
- 35:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:51Speaker 4: I hated them.
- 35:51Speaker 2: They ended my season every single year old, don't ever

- 36:11Speaker 5: my cousin. I used to be telling people, Yeah, my
- 36:14Speaker 5: cousin plays in the NBA. So I was in LA
- 36:18Speaker 5: one day and I was chilling with my homies from Boston.
- 36:20Speaker 5: This is when Isaiah was playing for Boston, and I
- 36:23Speaker 5: was like, you know, that's my cousin. I never met him,
- 36:27Speaker 5: but I knew that I was my cousin. And they
- 36:30Speaker 5: was like, that's not your cousin. I was like, I
- 36:31Speaker 5: swear to God, that's my cousin. And so we were

- 37:21Speaker 5: After the game, we hung out and I saw I

- 39:40Speaker 3: your favorite player.
- 39:41Speaker 5: That I didn't say that was my favorite player. I'm
- 39:43Speaker 5: just saying, like, that's when back in the day, when
- 39:45Speaker 5: I started playing basketball and I was like looking at
- 39:48Speaker 5: Larry Bird and these old schol niggas. I was hooping
- 39:50Speaker 5: in chucks and and messing my feet up.
- 39:53Speaker 4: You ain't that motherfucker yo.

- 40:09Speaker 4: They was laughing at you. Somebody get the just tired.
- 40:16Speaker 6: I'm so tight?
- 40:17Speaker 4: I did?
- 40:18Speaker 3: You know?
- 40:18Speaker 1: What was?
- 40:22Speaker 5: You know what y'all? When I put my shoes on today,
- 40:26Speaker 5: I left them.
- 40:27Speaker 4: I left them like this because.
- 40:28Speaker 5: I usually I usually be tying them up real tight.
- 40:32Speaker 5: I usually I'm about to go, I'm about to go.
- 40:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:37Speaker 5: But I was like, I'm about to go chill with,
- 40:39Speaker 5: you know, some some hoop niggas, So let me leave
- 40:41Speaker 5: my ship loose. But I was go ti it up
- 40:43Speaker 5: real tight.
- 40:43Speaker 4: But I didn't if I were to see you with
- 40:46Speaker 4: chucks that Craig bro.
- 40:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I was hooping and chucks. No there was red.
- 40:54Speaker 4: He's supposed to make you change your shoes. No coach
- 40:58Speaker 4: was definitely a volunteer.
- 41:01Speaker 5: That was not It's cool. I was trying to I
- 41:03Speaker 5: was trying to be like them.
- 41:05Speaker 4: I've never seen movie.
- 41:07Speaker 5: You never seen Who's Yours? No, that was a good
- 41:11Speaker 5: movie movie. Yeah, that's it. You can't compare like that.
- 41:17Speaker 5: Who's This is like an indie you know, if you're
- 41:19Speaker 5: from indie.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, it's a documentary. I played in a Hickory game.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Did you had Hickory Jersey too? Yeah? They were awful
- 41:28Speaker 4: trash jersey. Some of the baddest worst jersey's ever been
- 41:31Speaker 4: part of.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Y racist for sure, they like it was definitely a
- 41:38Speaker 1: slave that but oh wow, dang, I got a question
- 41:43Speaker 1: for you, Like when you think of like classic artists,
- 41:46Speaker 1: like who haven't you worked with that you would love
- 41:48Speaker 1: to work with?
- 41:49Speaker 4: I know you worked with Mary J. She's my favorite.
- 41:51Speaker 5: Really, I worked with Mary J. That was pretty cool
- 41:55Speaker 5: because I mean she just was like she seemed just
- 42:01Speaker 5: like Mary J people.
- 42:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:05Speaker 5: No, she was nice though, Like she wasn't like, oh
- 42:08Speaker 5: my god, but she was just like yo, what's up?
- 42:11Speaker 5: Like you know, she had her Jay zone. She was
- 42:12Speaker 5: she was cool. She seemed like how Mary J would
- 42:14Speaker 5: act like she was acting cool.
- 42:17Speaker 4: Yeah, only were boots, Like.
- 42:20Speaker 5: No, she she definitely had some JS on this day.
- 42:21Speaker 5: I was looking at I was examining her whole fit.
- 42:24Speaker 5: I was examining everything about Mary J. Because I was
- 42:26Speaker 5: just like damn, like I'm in the studio. Mary J said,
- 42:28Speaker 5: that's crazy. My manager was like, YO, said to me
- 42:35Speaker 5: and her Gabby is her name? When I say her,
- 42:39Speaker 5: my manager was like, yo. This was after we want
- 42:42Speaker 5: to Oscar. I think my manager was like, say that
- 42:46Speaker 5: like that, you don't.
- 42:49Speaker 3: Say what you want?
- 42:50Speaker 5: Well I had to say that because it was literally
- 42:52Speaker 5: right after the Oscars.
- 42:54Speaker 2: She said it, like you want to you really participated,
- 43:02Speaker 2: though I didn't participate.
- 43:03Speaker 4: I do my ring like that, and we know what
- 43:05Speaker 4: for first the World the Oscar.
- 43:07Speaker 5: The Oscar was for Judas in The Black Messiah. I
- 43:11Speaker 5: don't know if you guys saw that movie, but we
- 43:13Speaker 5: wrote the end title movie of the end title song
- 43:16Speaker 5: for that movie. And so that was a crazy ass experience.
- 43:22Speaker 5: So yeah, then after that, people was just like yo.
- 43:26Speaker 5: Right after that, they was like Yo, can you come right?
- 43:28Speaker 5: Can you come do this? So my manager was like, Yo,
- 43:32Speaker 5: Mary wants you all to come write a song with her.
- 43:35Speaker 5: So we went in the studio Mary J showed up,
- 43:37Speaker 5: like I said, she had her Jason. I think they
- 43:39Speaker 5: was black and gold. I'm not sure. I don't know.
- 43:43Speaker 5: She looked no, they were I'm not sure. Actually, dang,
- 43:46Speaker 5: I wish I remember it. She looked cute. I think
- 43:48Speaker 5: there were ones I could tell. Yeah, I think there
- 43:51Speaker 5: were ones. And I was like, day Mary, Mary got
- 43:53Speaker 5: on some jays and uh. Anyway, so we wrote a
- 43:56Speaker 5: song with Mary and that shit was crazy because just
- 43:58Speaker 5: like I grew up listening to my life and then
- 44:02Speaker 5: we're writing a song with her and she just talking
- 44:04Speaker 5: to us like regular. So that was cool. So yeah,
- 44:09Speaker 5: we were just in the studio writing good Morning Gorgeous
- 44:11Speaker 5: for Mary J.
- 44:12Speaker 4: Blush, that's a song that's fire.
- 44:16Speaker 1: How do you feel about movie score like doing movies
- 44:19Speaker 1: music different than like doing movies score stuff, cause I
- 44:21Speaker 1: feel like it looks like it's way more fun to
- 44:23Speaker 1: catch like a like a feeling of a whole most
- 44:26Speaker 1: of the picture and you just get to write around that.
- 44:28Speaker 4: It's like a doing a different way of a soundtrack.
- 44:30Speaker 5: Basically, Yeah, it is cool. We went we were already
- 44:36Speaker 5: working on hers album and we were they were like, yo,
- 44:40Speaker 5: can you write the song for Judas and The Black Messiah.
- 44:44Speaker 5: So we watched the movie in the studio and then
- 44:49Speaker 5: after we watched the movie because you know, you saw
- 44:51Speaker 5: Judas in The Black Messiah and we were mad. Afterwards,
- 44:54Speaker 5: we was like these.
- 44:55Speaker 4: More you feel like that basketball camp?
- 44:58Speaker 5: Then I did. It took me back to the basketball camp.
- 45:02Speaker 5: It took me back to my Jackson basketball camp. And
- 45:05Speaker 5: uh for the dude that called me African. They said
- 45:08Speaker 5: I was African and uh no, that ship was crazy.
- 45:14Speaker 5: That's like one of the most racist things somebody.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Yeah, the simple way that he said that was so impactful.
- 45:22Speaker 4: It's like, nigga, you out of Yeah.
- 45:24Speaker 5: And I knew I was looking extra doct around that time.
- 45:26Speaker 4: So the fact that you remember that for the rest
- 45:28Speaker 4: of your life.
- 45:28Speaker 5: I did.
- 45:29Speaker 1: I will.
- 45:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:31Speaker 5: But we watched the movie in the studio and we
- 45:34Speaker 5: were just like, Wow, I didn't even know about Fred
- 45:39Speaker 5: Hampton and you know, this whole Black Panther. I mean,
- 45:42Speaker 5: I knew about the Black Panthers, but I didn't know like, dang,
- 45:45Speaker 5: they really be like they really be killing niggas. And
- 45:50Speaker 5: when I say they, I.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Mean facts and so Memphis, Yeah, so we we uh.
- 46:01Speaker 5: We're listening to a bunch of music from the seventies,
- 46:04Speaker 5: from that era, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gay, just listening to
- 46:08Speaker 5: different percussive elements and just grooves, and then we just
- 46:13Speaker 5: started writing a song fight for You, and we didn't
- 46:18Speaker 5: think anything about it, just like we never did after
- 46:21Speaker 5: we wrote a song. We weren't like, oh, this is
- 46:23Speaker 5: gonna win. This like we're gonna win, We're gonna get
- 46:26Speaker 5: nominated for this. We just wrote the song and we're
- 46:27Speaker 5: just like okay, and went on about the day, went
- 46:31Speaker 5: on about you know, and that's that joint got nominated.
- 46:35Speaker 5: Actually found out it was nominated for an Oscar while
- 46:39Speaker 5: I was at the Grammys.
- 46:41Speaker 4: Ah, now that's what happened.
- 46:48Speaker 5: That's what happened. We were on E News and I
- 46:50Speaker 5: think they were we had one song for Best Song
- 46:56Speaker 5: of the Year at the Grammys, and that night they said, oh,
- 47:00Speaker 5: by the way, you guys are nominated for an Oscar.
- 47:03Speaker 5: And we were nominated for so many things like the
- 47:05Speaker 5: Golden Globe Awards, just like War Awards I never heard of,
- 47:08Speaker 5: just you know, because I'm not in the acting world.
- 47:11Speaker 5: So those awards, Golden Globes and Critics Choice and you
- 47:14Speaker 5: know those things. Yeah, but it was really crazy because
- 47:23Speaker 5: as a writer, as a singer songwriter, you don't really
- 47:27Speaker 5: get to be I mean, you're not really like linked
- 47:30Speaker 5: up with actors and stuff that much. So like at
- 47:32Speaker 5: the Oscars when you're seeing Harrison Ford and halle Berry
- 47:38Speaker 5: is like it's different than seeing Megan thee Stallion and
- 47:43Speaker 5: Drake and like you don't want to see her. You
- 47:45Speaker 5: don't want to see Meke? Why not, I'll Holley, You
- 47:50Speaker 5: rather see holle.
- 47:51Speaker 4: Berry, my friend. He loves Megan stuff. He said she
- 47:54Speaker 4: looked better than Beyonce.
- 47:55Speaker 5: I think Megan, her body is.
- 48:00Speaker 4: It ain't better be Let's let's stops not well.
- 48:03Speaker 5: I don't want to compare that. I think they both
- 48:05Speaker 5: have great bodies. I think they I think they have
- 48:07Speaker 5: great bodies. But I do I like, I mean, I
- 48:09Speaker 5: like the way it make looks. She's fired, she looks
- 48:13Speaker 5: and sod its Beyonce. Beyonce looks amazing too. I just
- 48:15Speaker 5: went to the Renaissance movie and she was looking better
- 48:17Speaker 5: than ever.
- 48:19Speaker 4: So did you the tour obviously? Yes? And the movie.
- 48:23Speaker 5: Yes, you're out of opening night, you're out of pocket, Yes,
- 48:25Speaker 5: you're right. I didn't dress up. I went I went
- 48:29Speaker 5: in my in my night clothes, but I definitely went
- 48:31Speaker 5: in with a suit. I went I went in for
- 48:34Speaker 5: the Renaissance tour because Beyonce asked that of us. I mean,
- 48:42Speaker 5: you know, lord, I'm not I'm not about to be
- 48:47Speaker 5: I'm definitely a Beyonce fan.
- 48:48Speaker 4: That's I couldn't go to that tour.
- 48:50Speaker 5: Though I'm a Beyonce fan, I'm not like crazy about
- 48:55Speaker 5: any celebrity, like like people maybe, but Beyonce. You definitely
- 49:02Speaker 5: got to recognize that she has a different kind of worth,
- 49:04Speaker 5: work ethic, and she's a generational type artist and so
- 49:10Speaker 5: I respect her. I respect her work ethic, and yeah,
- 49:14Speaker 5: she's she's really that bitch.
- 49:16Speaker 4: You're going to Disney Child tour?
- 49:18Speaker 5: They got a tour? No, absolutely, I feel.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Like this gonna be Kelly because we're waiting for the
- 49:24Speaker 1: new It's gonna be beyon Kelly because I nobody.
- 49:27Speaker 5: I thought you said r Kelly. I was like, what,
- 49:28Speaker 5: he's not gonna be.
- 49:30Speaker 4: Because Nellie tour Nellie tour. Yeah, we were going to Nelly.
- 49:36Speaker 5: Are they really having a tour?
- 49:37Speaker 4: We're speaking at her for us, we want to, but
- 49:40Speaker 4: jo U has a couple of long gotta be on
- 49:43Speaker 4: the tour.
- 49:43Speaker 5: No, Joe Rule, John Roul really set the tone. Okay
- 49:48Speaker 5: for what for the singing?
- 49:51Speaker 3: Go ahead you talk.
- 49:54Speaker 5: Well, No, I'm not saying that.
- 49:57Speaker 4: Make sure he set that tone.
- 49:59Speaker 5: I'm not saying that. I when I say that, I'm
- 50:02Speaker 5: I'm not saying that because Drake Drake, I really believe.
- 50:06Speaker 5: And I don't know if like people think, because I
- 50:07Speaker 5: know people think like, oh, if you like Drake, that's like,
- 50:09Speaker 5: you know, typical rapper. But Drake really is that guy?
- 50:14Speaker 2: Drake cole as a real question though, what all right?
- 50:17Speaker 2: I said something a while back and people kind of
- 50:20Speaker 2: gave me a lot. They said that I said that
- 50:25Speaker 2: Michael Jackson really couldn't sing that good. I just say
- 50:28Speaker 2: he was cool. What you think about Michael jackson voice?
- 50:30Speaker 2: You think it's like it's like that.
- 50:34Speaker 4: Or it's just like it's just okay, here's what I
- 50:37Speaker 4: want to hear. Here, Look, she's feeling me. She's feeling me.
- 50:41Speaker 5: Yeah, here's what I want to say. Here's what I
- 50:44Speaker 5: want to say, Jeff. I think Michael Jackson had a
- 50:50Speaker 5: stylistic type of singing. It was a certain style to
- 50:55Speaker 5: it where people weren't used to hearing people sing like
- 50:58Speaker 5: that and be able to do you know, so many
- 51:00Speaker 5: different inflections with their voice, you know, So I think
- 51:05Speaker 5: he is unique as far as like a singer, no,
- 51:10Speaker 5: I don't think. Yeah, I know, as far as like
- 51:13Speaker 5: a singer, No, but.
- 51:16Speaker 4: That yeah, I said ABC one Tree was beautiful.
- 51:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I think Mike Mike has a he has a beautiful,
- 51:26Speaker 5: interesting voice. As far as like, do I think it
- 51:29Speaker 5: like fits with like a Tevin Campbell or you know,
- 51:33Speaker 5: uh uh yeah, I mean a lot of R and
- 51:39Speaker 5: B singers that we have out these days. No, I
- 51:42Speaker 5: don't think it like Emparaisons's voice, but I think he
- 51:44Speaker 5: had a stylistic type of voice, maybe like Arihanna.
- 51:49Speaker 4: So was that out of pocket for saying like Drake?
- 51:52Speaker 4: Never mind?
- 51:53Speaker 2: No to say it, I said Drake, him and MIKEL.
- 51:56Speaker 2: Jackson is like similar singing. They just both make good songs.
- 52:01Speaker 5: No, I don't think there's I don't think they're similar.
- 52:02Speaker 5: I think Drake has his pocket that he'd be in.
- 52:05Speaker 5: You know, Drake, Drake know his pocket and uh is it.
- 52:08Speaker 4: Out of pocket?
- 52:10Speaker 5: I appreciate I appreciate his pocket. On what was the
- 52:14Speaker 5: album that had a sticky on it? Not? It's like
- 52:17Speaker 5: two albums ago.
- 52:20Speaker 3: Jeff loves Hotel.
- 52:22Speaker 5: It's a good song. It's a good song, it's a
- 52:28Speaker 5: good it's a really good song. And you know what,
- 52:32Speaker 5: Drake out of out of I think Drake has the most.
- 52:39Speaker 4: Photo You don't like hot line Drake.
- 52:49Speaker 5: No, Drake really got them. Drake really know how to
- 52:52Speaker 5: make them joints. He got the singy, sinky joints like
- 52:56Speaker 5: take care.
- 52:59Speaker 6: Drake Crazy.
- 53:00Speaker 5: Drake is really that guy. So even if he put
- 53:03Speaker 5: out an album that I'm like, I didn't really love that,
- 53:08Speaker 5: it's cool us. It's cool because he got so many albums.
- 53:12Speaker 5: I think that's the only artist that has multiple albums
- 53:17Speaker 5: that you just like every song on there. Like Drake
- 53:20Speaker 5: has been putting out since two thousand and eight, two
- 53:22Speaker 5: thousand and nine.
- 53:23Speaker 4: A couple more artists who like who you think, Oh,
- 53:26Speaker 4: don't do that? Oh god? Five albums?
- 53:28Speaker 5: Okay, what do you think the best hole?
- 53:31Speaker 6: Oh?
- 53:31Speaker 5: Okay, Wayne Carter three, that's amazing. What's the best whole album?
- 53:36Speaker 3: Black?
- 53:36Speaker 4: Black albums?
- 53:38Speaker 5: I like American, I say black album.
- 53:41Speaker 4: I love black. I understand why black album? Why would
- 53:43Speaker 4: we just count Blueprint?
- 53:43Speaker 3: Though? I love Blueprint, and nobody discount black album?
- 53:47Speaker 1: Just black just that moment it was the moment he
- 53:52Speaker 1: was done and agreed with that blackout time.
- 53:56Speaker 5: So what's your guys favorite rap album?
- 54:03Speaker 4: Yeah it might be I think you trying to slide
- 54:05Speaker 4: the joke. Yeah, we got.
- 54:10Speaker 5: Who's your favorite rap album?
- 54:12Speaker 3: My favorite rap album? Damn till you put me on
- 54:15Speaker 3: the spot, I'll be for Dark Twister.
- 54:17Speaker 4: Fantasy, you know what.
- 54:21Speaker 5: Okay, I respect it. I really respect that because I
- 54:26Speaker 5: think Kanye is my favorite rapper.
- 54:28Speaker 4: Took out.
- 54:30Speaker 5: Okay, I like that. I didn't appreciate it until a
- 54:34Speaker 5: little bit after the fact though, because also weights and
- 54:38Speaker 5: heartbreaks so amazing. Yeah, I didn't appreciate that. So after
- 54:42Speaker 5: the fact too, when you realize, like some stuff you
- 54:44Speaker 5: just gotta go back and listen to, like, Wow, this
- 54:47Speaker 5: just think really snut.
- 54:48Speaker 1: Yeah, we're probably in the same age, realm, and we
- 54:50Speaker 1: were coming into an our adult age when that came out.
- 54:53Speaker 1: We didn't know that could live outside there. But once
- 54:55Speaker 1: a little bit older, you started for a day. But
- 54:56Speaker 1: I see why that was like that.
- 54:58Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, that was good. That was a good one.
- 55:02Speaker 3: About you some time here where you're at you at. Uh,
- 55:06Speaker 3: my favorite, I wouldn't say the best. My favorite is
- 55:08Speaker 3: Rick Cross First album came out with White House.
- 55:12Speaker 1: And uh.
- 55:15Speaker 4: That's on the song That's one This ship.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Porter Miami is my favorite, saying I'm not trying to
- 55:21Speaker 3: compare nobody, but my favorite that I can play all
- 55:23Speaker 3: the way through its Porter Miami for sure.
- 55:25Speaker 2: With the album too, that's my favorite album's Dip said
- 55:29Speaker 2: more than music, Why you wanted to to.
- 55:34Speaker 4: Too? That's my favorite album. It ain't the best, it's
- 55:36Speaker 4: one of my favorites. I love the albums. Okay, what
- 55:39Speaker 4: about you me?
- 55:46Speaker 5: I would have to say black album or I mean,
- 55:51Speaker 5: there's a there's a few different Drake albums that I
- 55:53Speaker 5: thought were really amazing where I can just picture times
- 55:58Speaker 5: in my life. I was like, Wow, that that was amazing.
- 56:02Speaker 5: I like, I like nothing once the same. I thought
- 56:05Speaker 5: Take Care was an amazing album. I thought So Far
- 56:09Speaker 5: Gone for sure, it was an amazing album. I thought,
- 56:15Speaker 5: if you're reading this is too late, it's an amazing album.
- 56:19Speaker 5: There's so many, like really really dope Drake albums that
- 56:23Speaker 5: really had me in my feelings and I could like
- 56:25Speaker 5: go back to particular memories in my life that I
- 56:28Speaker 5: could relate to a Drake album.
- 56:29Speaker 4: So yeah, I'm really surprised you ain't say DS too
- 56:34Speaker 4: me too. I thought I'm more.
- 56:36Speaker 3: I'm more of a like future missed mixtape. D S
- 56:40Speaker 3: two is in my top five.
- 56:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:42Speaker 3: D S two is in my top five.
- 56:43Speaker 4: But I like.
- 56:45Speaker 3: Rapping, rapping. Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna take part in Miami.
- 56:49Speaker 3: Like Ross was talking that ship because I could, we
- 56:51Speaker 3: could have put g Z up there too.
- 56:53Speaker 4: Some motivation matter fact, motivation, motivation.
- 56:59Speaker 3: I was trying to say on the rim with y'all,
- 57:01Speaker 3: y'all be judging by ship, so I'm trying to.
- 57:05Speaker 4: Motivations.
- 57:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 57:07Speaker 3: So that's why you know it's.
- 57:09Speaker 1: Different because if it wasn't that come out, I'm all
- 57:10Speaker 1: about to say Savage Life too.
- 57:11Speaker 4: It's different to life too? Is it's different tires the ship?
- 57:15Speaker 5: Okay, so one more question, I know the same, the
- 57:17Speaker 5: same my show on more question though. Okay, So if
- 57:20Speaker 5: there's a song, if a song came out today, right
- 57:24Speaker 5: and it had a j verse Jay Rick Ross, Wayne
- 57:32Speaker 5: two chains.
- 57:35Speaker 6: Drake, it's a longer song.
- 57:39Speaker 5: Drake, Drake and uh and Kanye. Who got the best song?
- 57:46Speaker 5: Who got the best verse on the song? Out of
- 57:50Speaker 5: Jay Wayne, It's probably gonna be Wayne.
- 57:54Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 57:54Speaker 4: They just did a song with Ross, Wayne and J
- 57:57Speaker 4: and J murdered him.
- 57:58Speaker 1: He had a longer time. Yeah, but it was just
- 58:01Speaker 1: it was you say, Jay, that's a cheat code. I'm
- 58:04Speaker 1: gonna go with Jay.
- 58:06Speaker 3: If everybody in the studio at the same time and
- 58:07Speaker 3: get the pen at the same time, I'm gonna go
- 58:10Speaker 3: with Wayne because niggas right rap and I don't want
- 58:13Speaker 3: to deter it from the question. I'm just saying niggas
- 58:15Speaker 3: right there verse depending on the order when they get it.
- 58:18Speaker 3: So if I say Ross, I need you on this first. Yeah,
- 58:21Speaker 3: I sent it to JJ and like you thought you
- 58:24Speaker 3: had one. Yeah, I'm about to fuck you up a
- 58:26Speaker 3: hand some ship. But nah, he's scrapping that. What I
- 58:29Speaker 3: was a competitive sport.
- 58:31Speaker 1: I was gonna say way until you said Rick Rosses
- 58:32Speaker 1: on the song. And I gotta go ja because anytime
- 58:35Speaker 1: Jay and Rick Rosses together, that nigga loses my Yeah, okay,
- 58:39Speaker 1: Rick ross features are questions.
- 58:42Speaker 3: That is the same question though with.
- 58:43Speaker 5: Them, who I think got the best verse?
- 58:47Speaker 4: I love to change, but on that Yo.
- 58:49Speaker 5: The reason why the reason why I said two change though,
- 58:51Speaker 5: is because two changs. I feel like he got Yeah,
- 58:54Speaker 5: he do, for sure, he do. And when he get
- 58:56Speaker 5: on the If he get on the song with all
- 58:58Speaker 5: these rappers, all these legends, I feel like he's gonna
- 59:01Speaker 5: he's gonna come correct he like, you know, he's not
- 59:03Speaker 5: gonna bullsh it, So he definitely gonna have some bars
- 59:06Speaker 5: on there that make you be like, whoa Like that's
- 59:08Speaker 5: what I care about love music. Yeah, yeah, to change
- 59:13Speaker 5: like I feel like to change like he a little
- 59:14Speaker 5: bit slept on.
- 59:15Speaker 3: Because he is, but he just that's what I'm saying.
- 59:18Speaker 3: That's why when y'all was asking my favorite, I was
- 59:20Speaker 3: trying to go off, y'all rim but he ain't up
- 59:22Speaker 3: there when you say, and it's no disrespect to him,
- 59:25Speaker 3: it's just different levels.
- 59:27Speaker 5: I feel it. I feel it because Jay is the
- 59:30Speaker 5: storyteller and the poet. Yeah, I get it.
- 59:33Speaker 4: I'm surprised you didn't put cold in that, Cole.
- 59:37Speaker 3: Okay, you could replace cold.
- 59:38Speaker 5: With two change Okay, So even with cold, with cold
- 59:42Speaker 5: in there and in place of two chains, y'all y'all
- 59:45Speaker 5: gonna say cold, you look like hole. Actually, now that
- 59:50Speaker 5: I'm one, did.
- 59:54Speaker 7: Anybody ever tell you that? Did anyone ever tell you that?
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: Oh, Cole from the Fifth Flow Cole was the dark
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: skin one?
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: Yeah, that Nigga had to have big Charlie.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: Cole, he'll go crazy on that.
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: Cold would go crazy.
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: But I think Kendrick could go crazy. No, not now.
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: If it was twenty fifteen, I feel differently now.
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: No, definitely that was a yeah he don't right now
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: he might. But I think on a verse, on a
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: verse with all those guys, I think I think Kanye
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: is gonna try to show out though too. Like I
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: felt like Kanye would be my favorite verse even if
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: it wasn't like the best. I think Kanye gonna say
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: like the most out of pocket ship that like whoa
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: like how you? How do you think to say that?
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Because that's what he do sigh. But yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: I kill all them if he got on there. But yeah,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: it's going to be version right. Yeah, what new music
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: you got coming out?
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Man?
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: I heard you getting ready to get back into it.
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm excited. I just put out a single it's
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: called Hit You Right Back featuring Tonstis, So I'm excited
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: about that joint. I'm probably gonna put out a couple
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: actually remixes to that.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: Are you toxic?
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: Toxic?
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: Yeah to an extent, Yes, he toxic too.
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not going to be up here and be like,
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: I'm not toxic, like I'm I'm probably like a level.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: I love levels.
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: This is I don't know it really just I'm definitely
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: not a ten like i've met tins eight point five.
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: Huh eight point five. No, I'm not an eight point five.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: I think I think I'm like a just bull six.
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: I have self awareness. I have self awareness, but sometimes
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: I choose the toxicity because it'd be more like fun
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: a little bit and also.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: Like to.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: Danger.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: You like me, Do you spend the block?
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: Do I spend the block like on exes? Well, listen, listen,
- 1:02:31Speaker 5: this is this is I've never spun the block on
- 1:02:38Speaker 5: an X that I like, I didn't talk to for
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: months at a time. I've spun you know, I'd be
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: having a little like I have like my like off
- 1:02:48Speaker 5: and on situation, but you know we still be like
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: talking the whole way through. So that don't really count
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: because you.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: Know it counts.
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: I don't spend the block like I'm not about to
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: go date somebody that I used to date like back
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: in the day. No, I don't do that. There's too
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: many people out here in the world for that.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: All right, So you something that you might' you know
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: what I mean, you did, you might hit her or
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: or whatever back like what you're doing.
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: No, you'll just never hear from me ever again. I
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: think that's that is dark, but you know that's what happens.
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: Is like I don't like to be like I don't
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: like to be like disrespected or fucked with, and so
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: I feel like that be my that'd be my thing like.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: Forever, you know, like a cool breakup. So you shut
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: the door on a cool breakup like you just you
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: ain't never had like a cool break like I just
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: didn't work out for us.
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: I think it's so cool when people do that. It
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: seems so mature, like oh yeah, we just.
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: Yeah it does.
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: But like no, I'll be like you go to hell.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: Toxic.
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: Yeah. But I also haven't had a ton of relationships.
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: I haven't really had that many relationships Like I've had,
- 1:04:09Speaker 5: you know, dealt with people. But as far as like
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: real relationships, I've only had like and really I only count,
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: like college don't even count. So really only had one
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: real relationship after college.
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: Able scale.
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: Do I prefer to be single and just moving around?
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: No?
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: I like love and I like to be like with
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: one person I like love, you know, but it's just
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: like it's interesting, like just dealing with somebody else because
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: somebody else has a whole different experience. People behave based
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: off of their perception is how they grew up, how
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: they've experienced the world, and so I just think it's
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: so interesting to like then try to conjoin lives with
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: somebody like that, because is I don't know, it's just
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: it's a little bit weird.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: But I got a question, what you got a type?
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: Do I have a type?
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: Mm?
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: Hmm?
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: She like me, my type is.
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: You ain't at all?
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: No, I'm asking her.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: I'll get on your his next polls, but go ahead,
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: like what if you got a type or no?
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: My type is? You know what's interesting?
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: Hmm?
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: I like what she did that.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: I think as you get older, because it used to
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: be like your type, you know, they had to be cute,
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: nice body, blah blah blah, and then you get older
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: and you be like, I need you to have self awareness.
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: I need you to have emotional intelligence, I need you
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: to have money. Yeah, Like I like that type awareness, Yes,
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: a self awareness obviously, I want to be attracted to
- 1:05:57Speaker 5: you respectful to an extent.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: So what if a motherfucker had all there, but there
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: was a booger. What is a booger ugly who you're
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: not attracted to physically they vibe though they vib be ugly,
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: don't that's dangerous?
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: Hecks? Ah, Oh, she's.
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: No, no, because you know what, because you know what,
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: in the long term, like you feel like you do
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: have to be attracted to someone actual, and that matters
- 1:06:38Speaker 5: to me. It matters to me to be attracted to someone.
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: But like I said, it also matters, like for you
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: to have some emotional intelligence and self awarenes It's like,
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: you can't just be cute like it's that's not cutting
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: it no more.
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: Yeah we're too old.
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: Yeah, you can't just be cute like you gotta have
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: be cute with some money or cute with some emotional
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: intelligence or preferably like the emotional intelligent and respect part.
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: And then if you're cute along with that, I love that.
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: But if you just booger like ugly. I just watched
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: a TikTok the other day of this lady trying to
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: convince people that it's okay if they ugly because they
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: this this this, But I just I don't believe in
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: that because I really need to be attracted to you,
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: because I like, you know, intimate things, and I just.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: Like you know, you can't get intimated ugly. I mean,
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: you got a couple of boogers on you, on you,
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: on your jacket.
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: Have you been intimate? Well all, I feel like all
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: guys get intimate with people. That that's facts, Like, that's
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: facts about a couple. Yeah, exactly, like guys, can you
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: guys can.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Do that.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: A couple.
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: Man, I ain't got no bogging I can.
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: I can say that I've never, like, I don't think
- 1:07:59Speaker 5: I've ever messed with somebody that I was not like,
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: sexually attracted to.
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: No lineage.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: I can't you know, buddy over there, Yeah, never he
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: threw some ship off the backboard legs nervous urse three sixty.
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: Any woman I've ever been intimate with he attracted to him.
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: Okay, what about you.
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: Tell me a little something? No cat play to win
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: the game? Yeah, niggas kill me.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: Niggas don't hit all ts.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: Any niggas say you hitting up, You're Yeah, we don't
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: know what T doing. But I told you you got
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: to do is go to the first being.
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: I'm joking. I'm joking. Don't do that.
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: No, I'm very picky for sure.
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: The most important thing that you look for into when
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: you're dealing with somebody, though, what's number one like on that.
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: You remember when twenty one Savage said, and that's crazy,
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: I'm doing twenty one Savage quote.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: You remember his voice, right.
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: Because he's britt to.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: You.
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: Remember when he said he rather respect than love. Yeah,
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: I realized that, Like I think, just like, what's attractive
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: is someone who's like very that someone who respects you.
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: I'm not talking about like respectful, because anybody can be
- 1:09:26Speaker 5: respectful like when they want to be. But I'm talking
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: about someone who actually respects you as a person. I
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: think that's attractive. And I also think that, like I said,
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: I think self awareness is attractive. And I think when
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: you're self aware and you have your own money, I like.
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: How you keep throwing that money out there like me broke.
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: You know, I'm just saying yeah, like every voice yeah,
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: because yeah, I mean you gotta have you know, you
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: gotta have something going on.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: I got a question before we get out of here.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Have you ever wrote any dis songs or any songs
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: about somebody in the past that ended up being like
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: a crazy song for you, with like a really.
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: Big song for you.
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: I'm trying to think. I think I always draw from
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: my personal life when I write with people, So this
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: songs that got really big. No, I don't think so.
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: I think I just write for my personal experiences. I
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: think my songs usually come from like, I don't know
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: my song be sounding kind of toxic. A little bit
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: I realized I figured it out.
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: Yeah, right back, Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: Seven and a half is that's how i'd say six.
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: I would say six, uh, smooth six and a half,
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: movable six.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: That's for the camera.
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: But so sometimes it's sometimes I'm very a three, very
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: much a three in I'm not dealing with this toxic
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: you know women, women be like, I'm not dealing with
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: this toxic ship, but they be toxic. Why they're saying it? Yeah,
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: you know, you know the lacking accountability phase. I'd be
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: guilty of that something on the lack of accountability.
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: Listen, I will say any of those things. He said
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: that that's the camera.
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: Listen. Some people will call me a pig miesha for this,
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: but I do think that there's like a reasoning for that,
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: Like why why women sometimes may lack accountability because like
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: the way society treats you as a woman versus a man, Like,
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: you know, something happens to you when you're a little girl,
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: you fall, and it's oh, who pushed you? Who did
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: that to you? Who?
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: You know?
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: Like that kind of stuff is like training you to
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: kind of take a like a victim mentality a little bit.
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: And I think when it's female energy and male energy,
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: the female energy tends to like, you know, when a
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: female cries, it's like she automatically becomes the victim. I
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: think I think listen, listen, guys, I'm not a pig Mesia.
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: I'm not a pig misia, but I'm just honest. And
- 1:12:26Speaker 5: I just feel like sometimes women, uh, they may lack
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: lack accountability because they have this softer, more vulnerable side
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: up against a man, and so it's easier to not
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: take accountability for whatever part you contributed to the problem.
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: Just made his.
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: I'm not gonna fist bump you because because I don't
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: want to seem like I'm on the side, like listen,
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: but I know, I think men be full of shit too.
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: I think man be full of ship with the podcast.
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I didn't say there. I think men be
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: full of I think that's like the disconnect between men
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: and women. I just feel like, you know, women can't
- 1:13:13Speaker 5: always take the victim rolling. Oh you did this, you
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: did this to me, and like you're the like, you know, stronger,
- 1:13:19Speaker 5: more dominant person, so therefore this you know sometimes yeah,
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: yeah exactly. I think, yes, exactly, we acknowledge that bullshit exactly,
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: But sometimes I think it's harder for women to you know,
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: I'm accountable though.
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: I respect I respect it.
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: Toxic and accountable.
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: Yeah, toxic and accountable.
- 1:13:46Speaker 5: You got to write this song toxic but accountable.
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the hit right there.
- 1:13:50Speaker 5: Actually like that.
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: You feature in Summer Walker, Oh.
