Transcript
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: How's it, Bill's mafia system, Lance Nelson and Scott Casson here tonight on the triple coverage podcast.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: And we are brought to you by monster energy drink the official energy partner of built in Buffalo.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: Good preseason week two coming up here, but we had a nice.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: Preseason week one even though the bills did lose the game had some good things to pull from and now it's bears week got a joint practice tomorrow in Chicago.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: The bear starters will play but the bills have not said if their starters will yet so.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: How do you how do you feel so far?
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just one week of preseason games and where you are right now.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it saw some good things last Saturday, also some not too good things, but there's a lot of time to fix that.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't excited to see what comes out of the joint practices tomorrow.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: Joint practices to me are a great way to see where your team is at and get your starters to get some meaningful reps in a controlled environment, whereas in a game, it's not as controlled.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm excited to see what comes out of that.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a long time since the bills did a joint practice.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: I was trying to rack my brain as to when it
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: was.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was when they went against the Panthers and it was so long that Cam Newton was still there.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: So like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like like, like, like, like, like, like, like
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I thought they did some things with Pittsburgh last year before their game in twenty twenty four, but maybe.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, you know, it is been always nice to see that and, you know, we, we will see it's an NFC opponent too.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not super familiar guys.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of a unfamiliar thing.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think that
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be nice for them in a practice setting, controlled things to really be able to hit people.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you saw in the, some of the video, we didn't kind of hard knocks later on, but you saw like some of the players being like, oh man, you know, keep them up on a bounce and, you know, don't try to hurt our own guys whereas, you know, that same, you don't have that same level of concern when you're going against another team.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you don't want to injure anybody in the creases and regardless, but you're still going to go a little bit
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: a little bit extra against somebody else's guys in your own.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's going to be something to watch for for me.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: Could be the bangles and just hit your own quarterback.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: Could be.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think the starter should play it all in Chicago?
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: On Sunday, probably.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: a driver to maybe most of the first quarter, and not necessarily everybody, but you know who needs reps and who doesn't, and I think I'd like to see the offensive line.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys play maybe not the adult, and see the old with a back thing we'll talk about in a little bit.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if Josh will play, because especially if he's gonna play in the joint practices, that's kind of the same thing as a preseason game, at least the same idea.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I could see if being similar to what it was the week before, but it was, you know, a Sunday night game, a good opportunity to have this be kind of like a normal week where they get like, it's not like a weird preseason where you could be a plan on a random day.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: Well, see you on a family plan every day now.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: And the day they can make money.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: But it's could be maybe an opportunity for them to have a normal week.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: If we get out there early, play some snacks.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would think the starters will play maybe up to a quarter, probably not anymore.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I wouldn't think they'd see any substantial time, but would like to see more from them, sort of the rocky start for some folks.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, some folks, we'll talk about that a little bit, who we thought we liked and who we didn't.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, next up here, though, James Cook, signing four years, forty, a million, thirty year and teed, lowers a cap hit by two point two, mill this year.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, break down a little bit what you think about the James Cook and
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, I'm glad that that thing is over, but let me know how you feel.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, just getting it done.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: It kind of a glad to see it.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody really has that to talk about anymore.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's the only drama that there really was the soft season and it kind of eliminated now.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: So what do you think about that?
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just happy we don't have to talk about it anymore.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: Surprise that they went to four years to be honest, but there is an out after that third year.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: So for all types of purposes, it's a three year or thirty million dollar deal, then they have a pretty easy out after.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: year three thirty million guaranteed is a lot that that's probably where the bills are able to kind of negotiate like hey we're not going to give you fifteen million dollars that just doesn't make sense we get you thirty million guaranteed which I think is clearly okay with because he signed with a deal with some interesting caveats in it
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: So for next season, when the bills could be kind of cap strapped with all the other extensions, they have an Ojoch numbers, Josh's number goes up.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: This cap is only five point three million, based on the way they structured the bonuses, and it freed up, I think, two point two million this year.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a backloaded contract, which is where this team is at right now.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: It is a good thing, just giving them some mobility.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, happy, we don't have to talk about it anymore.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: Happy, I got done.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: Happy that James Cook will be here for the next
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: three, maybe four years.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I did see people talking about what does this mean for his snap counts and like they're going to have to play a more snaps now.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: But there's a closet is contracted if he plays forty five percent of the snaps or more.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: He gets another billion dollar bonus.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that tells you right there.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to play right around that fifty percent mark.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think this is going to change his role by any means.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: But excited that got done.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: Happy going to talk about it anymore and just go out there and play football.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what he said today, right?
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: Where yesterday, whenever his conference was, it's just time to go play football.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: So definitely, it's a Chris, definitely something that, you know, is behind us, we're glad.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see if anything else gets done this year.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: I doubt it.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: John saying in the comments that my government needs to be signed, we'll see.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I would like to have an act.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: You have an easy young, but I just
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: He and says he can't pay everyone so we're going to have to see where they choose to take those younger guys and those younger contracts, the the rookie deals that are going to be more cap friendly and you know have to make some interesting decisions.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: especially at Centerman, that guy that's gonna be most close to your prize scoreback.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's sort of unnerving at times to think, like, okay, we're gonna put a third year guy in there who maybe hasn't had much time.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: If man praying for where the heir apparent to McGovern, but we'll see, I don't even know if that's gonna be the case they may do something completely different than we're not aware of at this point.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's why the bottom grid you're missing this all training camp and now most of the preseason is such a big deal because can't really see what you have there.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if my governor and I would love to have him back.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if they're going to be able to afford him.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: If he hasn't year this year, the way he had last year.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, maybe maybe next year they will confer a center in the first round or something like that.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: Because obviously, Bob Crongranger looked okay last season, but he was a late pick.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: He was okay in college, but this was a big camp for him to show that it's my spot going forward.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's been out.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: Right, but he was some consider that he could be the best center in that draft.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: No, he still went in the fifth grade.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I said, you know, hey, I don't know.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a week, Senator.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: Excuse me.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Dion Dawkins went out a little back injury, but the bills are getting a little healthier.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: Just take us through some of these injuries, Scott, and what you think about where guys are at right now.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so don't go through the whole laundry list again, but it sounds like beyond's back.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: Just kind of a lot of stuff on them.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to evaluate tomorrow if you can practice or not, not worth pushing it at this point, but doesn't sound like getting serious.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's just not throughout his back a little bit.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't been there.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: of the Cole Bishop and Taylor rap or back in doing some stuff.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: They're not full-goes, but they're back, you know, doing some football things, which is good, because both have in both starting safety's injured.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's definitely not ideal, but at least moving in the right direction.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like Curtis Samuel's getting closer as well.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully we can see him on the practice field next week.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: Elijah Moore's just kind of a nursing some stuff, so I don't think he plays this weekend, but nothing serious there, and then Teren Johnson was in the
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: We caution protocol after his big hit on Saturday, but he's going to be fine.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: So nothing really to worry there.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, Shakir out of the boot, looking like he's trying to track the play week.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: One, Max Harris, then I saw a rumor that maybe he's going to start the year on the IR, which could be more so for like roster spot.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: purposes rather than anything else.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like if he's going to miss a game or two, you might as well throw him on there.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: But he's off crutches and progressing well.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, our our whole squad of injured guys is getting smaller, but it's happening day by day.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know, in the comments TJ was asking about Harrison and Shakira, you know, there's going to be longer term injuries where Shakira is going to.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully be back for week one.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's the plan that's been the plan since he went out and it's.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: You know, takes a little load off him in the preseason.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he necessarily needs a full preseason anyway to get his work in and be effective in the regular season.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Max Harrison definitely needs the reps and and all that and he's going to be.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, slower coming along and he's going to have to be brought along in his own pace and we'll see.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: how long that takes and how long he actually takes to get back on the field as Scott just mentioned.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, you know, I don't think it's doom and gloom.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think other people are stepping in for the preseason reps for sure.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: And Shakira's going to be, you know, a fine part of the offense once things get rolling for real.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not overly concerned about him.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: missing time at camp will not he did have some time out there for getting hurt so uh got some work in and I think that's just fun and so um other you know i have to say thron Johnson's a tough one for me knowing his place out knowing that he goes after these hits and he doesn't
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: He just seems to always stick his head in there quite literally.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just really tough for, you know, that to happen on this team.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: I, I, I, not question playing.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he needs the preseason for sure, but I just, I really don't like as much time as he had out there.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: I would have, I would have liked him to have maybe have a drive and then kind of just be like, all right, but they have their plan with them.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: They have their workload.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: They want people to do.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just tough, man.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: You got to kind of protect folks from themselves sometimes and Johnson's one guy's like, man, well, I see still out there right now.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: We don't really need this time on the field, but I understand at the same time, the coaches have the plans they do for these players and how to get them ramped up for the regular season, just a little bit unfortunate that, you know, Johnson had to pick up that injury.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's the kind of guy.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: He only has one speed when he's out there regardless of if it's preseason, the Super Bowl.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's just going to play hard.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: So he saw the ball on the screen.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: He went and made the play, but yeah, agree with you.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, you know, you don't always have to go that fast, but that's what makes them such a good player.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: For sure, absolutely.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: A couple of signings here, trained herndon, safety, Nelson Caesar defense event.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: with the release of Jalen Virgil and Justin Howells.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would say a big fan of the first name.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think a couple of years ago when we did when he came out of the draft, I highlighted him as one of my guys simply for the name alone.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's fair enough for me that if you have Nelson in your name and any capacity, I'm going to go into like you and regard this of your footballs, which has had not been
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: jumping off the page in the NFL setting, but he didn't do terrible at a lower level as past seasons.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see where he's going to go from here.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was kind of surprised that Jalen Virgil was released to be honest.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: I know he was dealing with some kind of an injury yesterday.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's more serious than it seemed like he's a guy who was on the fifty-three for a bit last year.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: But he's a stud on special teams.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: So I was surprised he was let go.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: He was having a good camp.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: But maybe it's injuries more serious than it seemed.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, the Caesar's a guy who was a stud at Houston.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: went to camp with the sea hawks last season didn't make the team as bounced around the U.S.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: fell or whatever they're calling that these days.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: Probably just the camp of body.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: But with you never know.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody out there has a chance to make the squad.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully you can go out and do something and then you mentioned tray herndon as well.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, safety they brought in was a corner.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's migrated back to safety.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's gotten older.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's a starter for the Jags back in the day.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: Twenty-nineteen and nice little see.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like you have three picks.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: But hopefully that doesn't, isn't a sign of that these bishop and rap injuries gonna take longer.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully this is, again, just another camp body and they were kinda running out of safety's.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they wanna, like Hancock played safety the entire game on Saturday, maybe more flexibility to be able to boot him around because he is a guy who can play multiple positions.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, probably just a couple of camp bodies, but you never know, everybody has a shot.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for, I mean, I don't think they're threatening anybody's spot here, but let's see what they can do.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, herndon looks like he picked up a tackle against the giant's there and, you know, I didn't notice him in any capacity.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: So it's probably good.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's very, oh, did he play for somebody else?
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: So he's got to tackle in the preseason.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I was he.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he signed it on like Monday or Tuesday, but what?
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's fair.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we signed them two days ago.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: So two days, you know, all right, well, where's that?
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they can't trust what you read on the internet folks.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, twenty twenty five preseason, one total tackles.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: So good for him.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: He was on the goals.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's on the goals.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: There we go.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're really smart.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: We signed them on August twelve.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: One man's track as they say.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, here we go.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: A treasure here.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we do need bodies.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, plain and simple.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: There is still one roster spot available though now.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: So it's an interesting thing to say you're leaving one spot open.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: You feel like they would feel like they would feel like they're needing guys.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: They probably need.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, it's got to be Mike the Parsons.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: But they, they have needs decisions.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: So it'll be interesting to see how they fill that one spot.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be said on Boston with the boys that he liked Miles Garrett.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: So probably that.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that ship kind of sailed a little bit ago, but the Mike of ours in sweepstakes is still open, maybe.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: So far, I guess Hendrix and could still be in play, right?
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know if the contract's even given up.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: Tung and cheek there if you didn't catch the humor from us.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: All right, yeah, move it on.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: I guess anything more.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what do you, what do you feel about the safety?
- 16:19[SPEAKER_00]: Did you, I don't, you mentioned it quickly, but do you feel like the starters and, and Hamlin Cam Lewis there?
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: Is there going to be enough?
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think for week one here when we actually start playing for real?
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think Bishop and Rapidly back by then.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I'm in there as well.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I don't think we have any reason to worry.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like we still have almost a month.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: I know it was only two weeks left for the pre-season, but it's like twenty five days or I don't know.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: I missed our countdown today.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like twenty something days till the first came.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_01]: So that they have time to get healthy and I'm just dealing with nagging stuff.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I don't think we would have to worry about yet.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, forest is back there too.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't look like they're putting a lot of teeth in too much, but we'll see how that plays out.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: Still relying heavily on Hamlin and looks like came Lewis and Jordan Hancock are right behind him and then forest is behind them.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: So a little bit of a shake up as to what you would expect.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think you kind of, you know, you might think there'd be a little bit
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: different rotation, but McDermott has his guys and kind of trusts him, he's not not backing off of that.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: All right, I guess we'll do our hard knocks review here next Scott.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: So what did you think about episode two of Hard knocks and any highlights that you had from what came out of there?
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it was fun to watch because it was the bills, but not the whole lot of football content.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty typical hard knocks the first episode makes you think this is the greatest football team ever assembled.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: At least this year, it's a team like the bills and not like the bears and the jacks are a team who bad, like it's better than the past.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: And then after that, they pick a few heartwarming stories like Buffalo, Joe and tomorrow, Hamlin and this team has no shortage of those.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: Look at episode, like I had a couple of funny moments.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: KJ Hamler is definitely electric.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: So proud you're not seeing more key on Coleman, because those two together would would be great.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, nothing really groundbreaking happened, which just kind of what happens in our next chapter of the first episode.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, kind of saw Josh getting after a key on a little bit in practice.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me he's got to be there for them and things like that.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_00]: That was really what you saw of key on, which is
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: Which is good to see still.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I like that they had that relationship and Josh is going to push him to get to the highest level.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: He can be at.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: So it was nice to see some of those things come out of it.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think they tried to, they did touch on ham one again.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, it's something that whenever you're a media, you really
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: can't pass up, but you know, I think that they didn't spend a ton of time.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Scooter definitely is his new scooter now.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a real adult with a belly then so I was very happy about that.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's super fun to see these guys personally.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's come out though.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: I live in Lancaster, so it's cool to see some local places featured on HBO.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's nice.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: I know that Buffalo Joe joins you.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_00]: You're saying likes to go down to Scoob's village grill here and, you know, they're
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: their wings are pretty tasty, so you know, it's a underrated place.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think around the Buffalo suburbs is to get over to Schoom's village grill and Shane was plugged here for him.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: What not?
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that's that was cool to see.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I didn't really have a lot.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: It just, you know, I like enjoy watching it.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Josh Allen's always pretty funny with his segment with bus and with the boys was on there and things like that.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it isn't.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: It was pretty funny.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: The beam was pretty good on there, too.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: So if anybody wants it wants to give it a listen, those guys, they put on a good show.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Steve in the comments saying that Terry didn't really know who he wore was, yeah, it's.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, these guys got a lot going on in, you know, the skin scheme.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: They don't, you know, they're into it.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: They own it, obviously, but they don't have the time really to put into being a fan or memorizing things as such as video, you know, Terry's not really just a football owner.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: He owns teams and there's a lot of other businesses on the outside of football.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he doesn't have his, you know, the full attention on everybody's number and all that.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: They just, you know, the guys are too busy for that.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: And rightfully so.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think it may maybe it would be nice to think that they could know that, but, you know, just.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: not really, uh, not really surprised by it for me.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I don't, there wasn't as much heartwarming stuff really like the trade white feature and stuff like that last week.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: I felt like it was good this week, uh, just other players, maybe players that are thing.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I mean, it's just like literally.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it is, but I guess it's some one of those things where you know, you got, you can't take stuff for granted, but it is also something you've heard a million times so how much more can you really spend out it.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, is what it is.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't hate it.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: And then, you know, it's always fun to see different perspective around the team and things like that.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: So that's, that's what it provides.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I take it at.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: If you haven't done so yet, please like and share.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: We are sponsored by Monster Energy, the official energy partner of built in Buffalo.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: Appreciate y'all.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: Be here.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: If you can share it on Facebook and like it there, X, you can repost and like it and come on over to the YouTube channel and get in the comments here.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: If you could subscribe to that YouTube channel, we'd appreciate it help us get into the algorithm a little bit better here as we try to grow this brand and all that.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: Jazz, so we appreciate it.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: Scott, you want to take us through offensively here going into preseason week two.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so in prison week one, we saw the starters play some of the starters play maybe a drive and a half for some of them.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: Some guys played a little bit more than others, but who based on what we saw last week, what we think you can, who were a couple guys or a guy, you want to see more of this week against the bears and join practice tomorrow and then in the game Sunday night.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I would like to see Cedric fan train Ranger, but that's probably not going to happen.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: So we've got to have more of Jacob Bayer, snapping balls over people's heads, maybe.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm looking forward to seeing.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: a little bit more out of the starting online, if they play, wasn't the strongest performance from them.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: We noted before the show, we were talking about a dual Carter kind of going a hundred percent versus Dion Dawkins, maybe, you know, trying out there, but maybe not going full go and, you know, getting beat a few times in that scenario.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I'd like to just, you know, I'm going to continue to keep an eye on the offensive line here and see more from
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: Really, you know, you really just want to see more from everybody.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: You mentioned key on Coleman.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: Just a little bit ago, I don't think that necessarily did anything bad that he needs to step up from, but I just want to see.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's one catch across the middle where they kind of didn't have anywhere else to go and dump it off to them late and didn't really go anywhere.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_00]: So just be nice to see, see, you know, somebody kind of break something in this offense.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree with you there.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about it last show wanted to see some continuity from the online, the startups are playing obviously everything is going to be very vanilla, but just see like them like
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: push forward, like see them like assert their way like take it inside zone and open the holes or give clean pockets and they didn't really do that.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: So would like to see them step up.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_01]: But again, who knows how much hard they were going out there for Abdul Carter who got two pressures on Dion.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: Now it's just first NFL game.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's the preseason, but still.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's first NFL game and he's out there trying to show, and I'm going against the top.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: five tackle like I'm going to show him what's up and Deons like I like I'm not going to get hurt.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: Here's this rookie.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just like good, you know, just go out there and play hard like not trying to get hurt.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I think we have to worry about it yet.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I would like to see a little bit more continuity this week.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see more from the tight end room.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not quite as a whole because concave and Oxford find knocks out a touchdown.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: But like after that,
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't great.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: Jackson Hall has he had a couple like a couple really nice blocks, which is probably what his role is going to be, but he had a drop when he was a wide open.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: Zach Davidson, who's trying to make this team, and if not this team, any team, he had two pretty bad drops, where he was open, one would have been a nice contested catch, but it's one you got to make, and he got punched out.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: as a tight end that you're not supposed to get the ball punched out.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: So, want to see more from the tight ends this Saturday, especially halls in Davidson because they're fighting for that tight end three roll.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say halls has kind of the inside track at it because he was a draft pick and he's a better blocker, but would like to see a little bit from more of them a little bit more from them in the passing.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't think we saw too much a concave either, but I, you know,
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: Just didn't see a lot from the starters in general.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_00]: And they were in and out a bunch.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: So they didn't really, you know, playing with Mitch.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's a lot different for the skill guys at least.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: Haas and Davidson definitely the hits and could just not catch any of that.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: I felt so bad for him.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's really having a tough day doing the thing he's most noted for and I just was kind of weird.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: So good question by John here though.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_00]: Did you maybe you detailed this?
- 26:23[SPEAKER_00]: I said I'm not sure, but Tyrell shabbers do you have an idea of what he's dealing with or any sort of projection?
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't see it on my quick search here, but I didn't know if you have anything more.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: I would assume it's the same ankle thing.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he had this great ankle.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's been dealing with for the past couple weeks.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: So I would assume it's that because they didn't say anything about it.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: So probably just given him a rest day on that ankle, hopefully we'll see him back out here again.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: This Saturday because he is somebody who really impressed me on Saturday.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to slide into that.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I thought the kind of second group of receivers was awesome.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: Hamler is springing open on that deep touchdown.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's all from Mike White as he's able to roll out and then shivers it's.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: The Giants corner who was making this one is they're probably talking about him on Giants podcast for the opposite reason, but there's fifteen seconds left in the half and you got to got this absolutely cookie you want to post.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: He gave a little half-hearted move to the corner and then just came right to the post and it's clearly flipped his hips the wrong way and Mitch threw a ball up.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: He puts it out in front of him a little bit more he scores.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, settle for a field goal.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: We kind of under threw him again to wait for it.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: So he got tackled at like like the five, but
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: Shavers played really well he had another nice catch and he's making it like kind of impossible for him to be cut like we were talking about last week like I don't know if there's a spot on this team for him and that is probably still not true but he's just saying through that I'm taking one so if he plays that well and I know they want to see what he can do on special teams more which from what I understand he's pretty solid at so really like what I saw to that second group of verse a year
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, I like seeing Knox get in the end zone.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of those things last year.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: We kind of had a running joke where I was just like, oh, I'm going to bet Knox anytime touchdown or until he gets there, you know, took a couple weeks, but he finally did it.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like Darren to Evans when when he scored his touchdown, I noted to the folks I was watching the game with, like, hey, keep an eye on Evans, you know, he's in the game and can be pretty shifty.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_00]: So, like seeing him getting the end zone there,
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's a guy that's just been here often on and just, you know, there's just a hard path to the roster for a running back right now.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I think if Johnson wasn't so good, Ray Davis being a draft pick, obviously James Cook doing his thing, that Evans would have a spot as maybe a third RB, but it's just tough to get on this roster right now as a running back.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: And then like you mentioned, Kigi Hamler with the touchdown,
- 29:07[SPEAKER_00]: guys commenting in the in the comments in the YouTube comments here.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's really it was really funny to see a hammer hammer such a character and I'm glad they kind of highlighted more of that on the hard knocks like we mentioned there's just a fun fun vibe that that guy comes around with all the time and it's one of those guys you kind of root for but again another guy that's going to have a tough time
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: having any sort of role.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he does have the speed and he has been on an NFL roster before injuries, but it's just the bills are pretty much loaded here with wide receivers, even though they're ranked lower in their in the skill position groups, you know, it's just they do have their guys and it's going to be hard for shivers and hammer really to break through.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think shivers is going to be kept as a six wide receiver I predicted, but we'll see how that all shakes out.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: And if they're six there, I don't believe the bills are going to keep seven, which would be required for Hamler.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: Unless they must cut a Samuel can't get on the field and they still keep six and Hamler's one of those six.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's the only scenario I see for Hamler getting on the roster.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_00]: But I think it was just, it's good to see him.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see some more of that next this coming week here on Sunday.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think that'd be nice.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think?
- 30:23[SPEAKER_00]: No, go ahead.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to take it somewhere else.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that who they play with, like playing with Mitch and Mike White has something to do with some of their, you know, performance?
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: And how much do you think they'll mix it up this week?
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think maybe Mike White gets some reps with the top, the higher end guys?
- 30:50[SPEAKER_00]: And then Mitch Tribisky takes the other, or do you think they just keep
- 30:54[SPEAKER_00]: rolling with what they have now and that you know because there is talk of a competition for QB two so you know in this game when we see more of Mike White with the top wide receivers or do you think they keep it Mitch goal with these guys because they trust him more.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think thank you going with Mitch.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's QB-two until he loses it.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like he played fine on Saturday, Mike White played fine.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: But again out there against the third string guys.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think we'll see Mike White with the top guys because that would real choir the top guys to be out there longer, which I don't think they're going to want to do.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's a competition.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: But I think Mitch is QB-two until like something.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: big changes.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't had that change yet.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I would think this weekend maybe, maybe, you know, Josh plays a drive with the ones, Mitch plays a drive with the ones, then it goes Mitch with the twos, and then he had Mike White with the threes and Shanby sell with the, uh, the make a wish kids.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a, that's a good idea, man.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: I, you know, I don't know if they're going to make an accomplishing it all and we'll see more of Mike wait.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: But if, if there's not really competition as you believe that I think you just get more of the same and and Mitch handles those duties just as he did this week.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, all right.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well, a couple of other guys I wanted to highlight just starting receiver of Josh Palmer.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: He looked really good.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: We saw that separation that they talk about and how he gets open off the line and the CB Johnson is commenting on some of his releases.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: Now they reminded him and then chase lunch.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: The bills six round draft pick played awesome.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: He was at the stat here.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: He was one of
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: A ten-ish maybe a little more I don't want to count them off of offensive line in this past week any plate twenty past protection snaps and give up any pressures That's awesome and the thing people were saying about him is he's only ever played right tackle at Yukon so could he play other places me twenty seven snaps at left tackle sixteen snaps at right guard So it's showing that he can be versatile maybe he does find a way on the team
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: as kind of a swing tackle or a swing offensive lineman who could play any of those four positions outside of center.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: So definitely big for him, a guy that a lot of people thought would want to be drafted offensive lineman are offensive liners set, but people probably didn't think Taylor and Grable was making the team last year and they're very win.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: So Chase wanted to keep playing like this, you know, he could eat out of spot as well.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure there is maybe one spot where will clap was last year that somebody could take or if there are injuries, then he can take that spot as well.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, anything else on the offense.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, I'm excited to see.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_00]: really them.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully score, you know, be a little bit more interesting to begin the game.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think they did score some points here and there, but it just wasn't, it was hard for me to really get, get into it.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm hoping that Sunday, uh, being at home, being on my couch, less distractions.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_00]: I was playing with my buddy's kid.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: He was there and I was talking with Robbie Snyder, who's, uh, does the, uh, Blizzard seven one six, uh, podcast to and just a lot of socialization on that.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_00]: They're in the last preseason game.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_00]: It was a little bit tougher to concentrate on the actual game itself and get into it.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: But was it was able to dance the shots on a few times.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_00]: We got our free Tim Horton's with the two plus touchdowns.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_00]: So we always love our free Tim Horton's here in the Nelson household.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, let's move on to the defense side of the ballman.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I've bad news for it.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think the offense will be that much more exciting on Sunday.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's pretty boring, but maybe you'll see Josh out there, but we will see.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll do the same thing with it for the offense.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: We'll go for the defense.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: I let you start it off.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you want to see step up on Sunday?
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you want to see more of you expect more than the preseason game number two?
- 35:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I got to steal your your got on this one for sure because land in Jackson was someone that was really hopeful to see kind of get after the quarterback and stuff like that and just didn't see a whole lot of them.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_00]: So that was a little bit tough.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: As far I wasn't super disappointed with a lot of other people per se.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think that generally they they lost the game and had thirty four points for on them.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_00]: So it wasn't.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_00]: The best day defensively, but I think some guys, you know, really did some good things.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that Tree White was necessarily bad, but it was a little bit rough to watch like then just to after him, you know, play after play at times and just kind of like, you know, yeah, he gave up the catches at times and whatnot, but I think he did recover pretty well and makes him pack also.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I went back and I watched all of his snaps and they were all just like short stuff and I think there was like three that were caught in his area and two of them like it wasn't even it wasn't his own.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like he just happened to be the one who came up and made the play.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_01]: So I initially thought that yeah, I'd say like trying to get an expo, then I went back and watched and they were like okay, he was only like he was the primary guy in coverage on like one of them.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: The rest were just like quickouts to the flats and he came up on it and made the play.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like it wasn't like he was supposed to be
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: In that spot or guarding that guy, it just happened to be completed on his side of the field and it was more of a check down.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I don't think he played as poorly as it like initially seeing when you're watching it.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: Again, everything's going left, but yeah, agreed.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: We'd like to see him be maybe a little stickier.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't have too much bad to say about anybody else on the defense.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think the biggest thing like was mentioned in the comments that land in Jackson negating a fellow rookies first interception in the league and just preseason interception, but I think that, you know, that was a tough one.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it wasn't even like he jumped off sides.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: He just lined up off sides, which is not great.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I want to see, I don't know, I'll see something from him.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: But when I was actually new, he was going to be a project.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I saw someone say the other day, like his ceiling is AJ happiness.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: And one, you can't tell it after one previously in the game.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: But two, he was a third round pick.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like is that that bad?
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: What do we expect the guy to be?
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like he was a third round pick.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: If you we get agent if we get a guy who the bill signed to a second contract out of that, that's a pretty damn good third round pick.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I would take that for me, but I think you can tell a guy's ceiling from from one preseason game, but I want to see more from day in Jackson.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he has more to give, but if he does, I want to see it.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: He got burned on that touchdown.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: People were talking about, like, Hamlin, why wasn't he helping?
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: Hamlin was playing the center third of the field.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he, if he would have gone over there, he wouldn't have been doing his job.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, could he have maybe sprinted over there, yeah, but then he would have been ten yards away instead of fifteen when the touchdown was called.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he wasn't making a difference.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: Just like, seal it more from Danger Jackson because he's a guy who's on
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: The bubble and if Maxwell Harris did yet really danger acts in really he's a guy is on the roster bubble and if Maxwell Harris then doesn't play the first couple weeks, which is looking like that's a real possibility.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then trade why I don't know if he's a guy who can.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: play every snap of every game anymore.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: Dane Jackson's probably gonna get some reps in the game, at least early in the season.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: So we'd like to see a little bit more from him because in a perfect world he would probably be an odd man out in the corner room, but with the way it is right now with the injuries and Dorian's strong being a rookie and also a six round pick.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if they're throwing him out there early.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's a guy who's gonna get reps in games.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I would like to see some more things out of Dane Jackson on Sunday.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_00]: For sure.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I didn't really notice story and strong doing anything outstanding, but I thought that I didn't notice him either.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, didn't notice and that's a good thing.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, who impressed you Scott against the giants and you want to see continue that momentum here this week?
- 39:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so a lot of the defense of line and press me right up the bad Joey boasts a little good.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: Again, he's probably going about eighty percent pretty bad and down a ball.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: He made his presence known and he will help you with the Joey boasts.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully that that can stays or can stay or are rookie D tackles.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: Do you own Walker and
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: TJ Sanders thought both of them looked pretty good.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_01]: I went and I watched everyone of Dion Walker's snaps and yet a ninety two point whatever PFF grade was crazy because he really only made one play.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't think he had a good of a game as people are making it seem.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: But that one play was really good.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: He did a nice slap move on the
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: on the guard and got right to the quarterback and bad at the ball down other than that.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: He was just kind of a gap filler.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't really get off blocks a lot, but you can see that.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he got off and hurried that pass that did score touchdown.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_00]: He also was there on that one.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: That was TJ Sanders.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_00]: That was Sanders.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: TJ Sanders made a really nice play on that as well.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_01]: Same kind of thing wound up outside went right around the guard.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_01]: And if he was there half a second quicker, it's a sack.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I would have said, and everybody was said, danger act and play great.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: but he wasn't.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: And then we mentioned hand-tock.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_01]: He looked solid.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Only played safety with his interesting to me.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think that could have been more out of necessity than where they actually want him to play.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then Matt Malone.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: He looked a lot like Matt Malone.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_01]: So that was a good thing.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: I would do a lot of things, look like Matt Malone.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: So let's take it.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_00]: And Matt Malone worked really good.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_00]: I did enjoy seeing
- 40:56[SPEAKER_00]: The two tackles there walker and walker and Sanders, excuse me.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_00]: And then I don't know, I was watching both from the stands and you know, maybe my being farther away in the three hundred skewed my view a little bit.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_00]: I just
- 41:11[SPEAKER_00]: I still wanted to see him blow someone up or do something.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_00]: And he did find, like you said, you know, probably wasn't going balls to the wall, but I do, I didn't want to see maybe just one play where he completely just wrecked it on defense.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, he was fine.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he showed that he's still got a bunch of athleticism left in him and he's going to be fine this year.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_00]: I believe as long as he stays healthy.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_00]: I really like seeing Andrews in out there with the ones and just making plays.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he played pretty well.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he got caught a timer too, but overall solid game for him.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_00]: Seeing Jordan Hancock out of
- 41:56[SPEAKER_00]: or at safety for so much and not really playing the nickel at all.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he did pretty well for rookie obviously had that one interception that was called back on an off-sides play and then look I mean I got to say I'm sorry to Cam Lewis I think because Cam Lewis
- 42:12[SPEAKER_00]: is making plays out there, kind of the first one in for Charon Johnson and also playing some safety reps as well.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think that Cam Lewis is much more integral and going to be a better player for this defense than I had originally thought.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I got to give credit where credit's due to him because I think that Cam Lewis is going to do some nice things.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think he showed he can do some nice things out there in this defense of his column.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree with you there.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: This team has a lot of depth, which is a good thing.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: So excited to see some of these younger guys play a little bit more this Sunday, because I didn't see what they do in July.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: Practice tomorrow, and I didn't have this to the sheet, but probably should have special teams.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: Dave has kicked an extra point.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: That was fun.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: But when do we start to worry about Tyler Bass?
- 43:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's still as his pelvic soreness, hasn't kicked in a while.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to take a little while to ramp up.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: When do you start to worry about that?
- 43:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think after the third preseason game if it's, you know, preseason's over and we're still not really seeing anything going on with him.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he doesn't really need to play in the preseason games necessarily.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really think so.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: So like, you know, the practices.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_00]: Two weeks before week one, if he's not really getting in there, I think that.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_00]: I'll go but as a good point here, he's been worried about vast for two seasons, but that's for different years.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not for injury sake, but yeah, no, I think that I think that it's definitely
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: something to be mildly concerned about.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not overly concerned.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, I don't think he needs to be out there for, you know, any procedural things.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's done this a million times with this team.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's maybe needs some reps with robins as the holder, but overall I'm not overly concerned until after the third preseason game.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_00]: If he doesn't play it all in week and week three of preseason and then he's, you know, he's
- 44:18[SPEAKER_00]: not in there that next week of practice.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think you have to really start alarming, you know, being alarmed and seeing what they can do.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know your guy, Keaton Davis is probably not the answer given that he took your money from you.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would prefer Tyler Bass start kicking soon.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want to rustic it during week one, but yeah, I don't know.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's an interesting
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a injury.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I've heard anyone out of Celtic soreness before.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I don't feel great about it.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of seemed like something minor.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like they didn't even bring in a kicker.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: And then like, are we have to bring in a kicker now?
- 44:59[SPEAKER_01]: And now it's another weekend still isn't kicking.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like what when is he going to start?
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: When is he going to start kicking?
- 45:05[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's that's what he does.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's important part of his job for sure.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, like I said, are you you already concerned?
- 45:14[SPEAKER_00]: Or do you have you give it some more time?
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: I know where the concert button is.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'll put it that way.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't, like, I haven't hit it, but I found it.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: I found where it is in my house.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I know where it is.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_00]: Located in case it needs to be pulled out.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: Checked it.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like there was some dust on it, blew that off.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_01]: Make sure I still had it.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: No, like it's either one or two places.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I went and I found the place that it is.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_00]: The over under opened at thirty six and a half is now forty one and a half.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_00]: For the sake of our.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: Since you're the gambling expert here, I will still we'll just ask at least a betting question for we get out of here.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_00]: You got the over under forty one and a half now.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to take the over because it's going to give me a reason to care about this game in the second half.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I feel like it might go on.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: Even a week one one over by like twenty points, but.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, the bears don't scream over to me, but I do like watching Tyson Beijing play.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: He, uh, he is there.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_01]: The bears back up quarterback and there was at one point two season goes under after D two kid.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: He has last two football games.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: I won't want to use a go where a win against the Raiders and a loss to the Colorado School for the Mines, so which is just always a fun sad.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's amazing.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, the week one saw a lot of overs.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_00]: So you had to go if I had to pick out that all as well.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_00]: So well, that'll do it for us here as we get you got you ready for week two against the bears.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to find a lot more out.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_00]: And fortunately, a lot of the information will be found out more tomorrow.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_00]: So keep an eye on the Milton Buffalo social media channels, Instagram, Facebook and X, as we'll break all the news down for that.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I think we're going to find out a little bit more about whether the starters are going to play on Sunday and just where people are at with injuries because right now there's not a lot to report on that because there's just not anything there from the team yet so you know I don't I'm not an injury expert by any means and I know that's a popular topic this time of year but I'm just going to
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: Let you know straight up.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know unless they tell me.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just going to go and watch the big fat guys hit each other on Sunday and be here to enjoy it and talk about it next week.
