- 0:06coming up. Hey guys, welcome back to the
- 0:13AstroWorld. My name is Dan.
- 0:14I have autism ADHD OCD in dyslexia.

- 0:28more daily videos. I'm also on Tick-Tock.
- 0:31Okay guys, so it is sensory processing awareness month or
- 0:35sensory processing month, which means I am going to do some
- 0:39sensory processing videos because I always do videos on
- 0:41Types of things and sensory processing disorder is something
- 0:44that is comorbid with autism. It's something that occurs with
- 0:47autism. It's co-occurring.
- 0:48It's something that is part of an Autism Spectrum, diagnosis in
- 0:52a lot of cases. So that being said, I teamed up
- 0:55with sensory who are probably sponsoring this video and we'll
- 0:57have more on them later. Okay, so I'm going to break down
- 1:00for tips and strategies that I can give you that will help you
- 1:03overcome some sensory processing issues.
- 1:06It's not going to cure it because sensory processing
- 1:08disorder is how your brain is wired.
- 1:10It's not something that you can Unlike cured.
- 1:12It's part of an Autism Spectrum diagnosis and what, you know,
- 1:14the rest, if by any chance, I've missed something out and you
- 1:17guys think Dan, you didn't say this then pop it in a comment
- 1:20down below. Let me know.
- 1:23Alright, let's go on with the video.
- 1:24Okay. So the first one is
- 1:25proprioception. Now sensory processing disorder
- 1:28can be helped a little bit by activating sensory sensory,
- 1:32caused proprioception and proprioception is basically when
- 1:36the muscles deep at muscle tissue, has some sort of
- 1:39Engagement, some kind of like a Instance, like if you picked up
- 1:43a chair for instance, or if you did, like a press up, or you
- 1:45went running or walking or even having a shower to activate the
- 1:49muscle, and it to get that proprioception sense,
- 1:52heightened. Now, there is a way to do this,
- 1:55that will give you way more benefit as in the activation of
- 1:59proprioception only last for about two hours.
- 2:01So you have to kind of keep up and top this up every two hours
- 2:04but it actually really does work.
- 2:05What I suggest to do is do like wall press EPS or something like
- 2:08that. You could even go for a walk if
- 2:10you wanted to Or you can do some light exercise in the house.
- 2:12You could even like pick up a chair or something.
- 2:14That's a little bit heavy. Maybe your laptop or something.
- 2:17So you don't drop it. Obviously, you just looking
- 2:19strain activate those muscles in the proprioception sense to give
- 2:23you a little bit more work on the muscle.
- 2:26What happens here is that it gives you a state of awareness
- 2:28around your body and your muscles and so you are more in
- 2:32tune with your surroundings. So a lot of people who have
- 2:34sensory processing disorder can't like open doors wide
- 2:37enough to fit through them, which is something that I do as
- 2:39well and I get bruises on my arms.
- 2:41Because I'm not opening the door wide enough to sense my body's
- 2:45structure, but having this proprioception activation
- 2:47actually helps me understand a lot more about my spatial
- 2:50awareness, and things like that. Super good tip, highly recommend
- 2:54it. It was actually given to me by a
- 2:57occupational. Therapist who works with sensory
- 2:59processing disorder. Super dope.
- 3:01All right. Let's move on to pack number 2.
- 3:04Okay. So hack number two.
- 3:05Is these sound stereo headphones.
- 3:07Now, I'm going to talk a little bit about some tree because they
- 3:10were happy enough. To help me and sponsor this
- 3:12video. So big shout out to a sponsoring
- 3:14and helping create this video sounds through using
- 3:16multi-sensory music therapy and movement program.
- 3:19The soundtrue headphones equipped with a dynamic filter
- 3:22and bone conduction technology, helps improve motor skills and
- 3:25cognitive development in children and adults who are
- 3:27pretty cool, right? The program consists of
- 3:30specifically designed music, processed with neuro acoustic,
- 3:35modifications as well as a series of movement based
- 3:38exercises. It is a 40 Day program.
- 3:41Divided into two sections of 20 days each with a break of about
- 3:45a month in between and each day consists of about 30 minutes of
- 3:48music and exercise, which is quite achievable.
- 3:50If you're doing this to kind of help with your sensory
- 3:52processing needs, sounds three helps improve fine, and gross,
- 3:56and visual motor skills in children, like hand writing and
- 4:00drawing balance posture eye. Coordination, hand-eye
- 4:03coordination building on these fundamental skills and kind of
- 4:07Beyond really, because they're like a basis, right?
- 4:10Sanskrit improved. Regulation, social skills and
- 4:12Communications, which but different all-rounder.
- 4:15Some tree is designed to be safe and effective and is helping
- 4:18children, and adults on the autism spectrum, with auditory
- 4:20and sensory processing disorders, and other
- 4:23developmental delays. Children can complete coloring
- 4:26Lego building drawing writing painting and other activities.
- 4:29Well, are actually using sound. Sorry.
- 4:31It has nine hours of battery time online access to exercise
- 4:35videos and an option to switch to Bluetooth mode, to use the
- 4:38sound trees, headphones, as just normal headphones, you can use
- 4:41Is as just typically your average daily headphone, so it's
- 4:44kind of cool, right? I really love that feature.
- 4:46I did the program of the 20 days.
- 4:48I did the initial 20 day program and it was highly effective.
- 4:51It was absolutely fantastic. Soundtrack of made.
- 4:53A really, really rock solid product here and I do recommend
- 4:56it and I don't take on any brand who wants to, you know, partner
- 5:00with me. If I don't think it's good.
- 5:01This is very good. I've had a lot of success with
- 5:03parents who've used it. So definitely check it out.
- 5:05Link is in the description below and there's a 20% discount if
- 5:08you use the link provided below and the discount code that
- 5:10aspect. B10, you actually get a 10%
- 5:15extra off it right now. So sound, she is giving a
- 5:18discount of 20% But if you use my code, you get actually 10%
- 5:21off on top of that. So it's kind of a really good
- 5:23time to get this product. So highly recommend checking it
- 5:26out. I love these.
- 5:27Okay on to tip number three, okay, so creating a sensory room
- 5:32or a sensory corner. Now people on the autism
- 5:34spectrum and people who have sensory needs are always kind of
- 5:37around things that are sensory triggering so you could be in
- 5:41worse. Q could be in school, you could
- 5:42be out on the bus or in town. And there's a lot of things
- 5:45going on. A lot of people talking, a lot
- 5:46of things moving around, a lot of noise, and hustle and bustle.
- 5:50And so sometimes one needs to retract from that and kind of
- 5:54calm down their sensory processing input.
- 5:57Right. And the way to do this is to
- 5:59create a sensory corner of sensory room.
- 6:01I actually usually try and do a corner of a room where you have
- 6:04like nice soft pillows. Then sensory toys.
- 6:07You could even have lights are twinkling, lights stuff like
- 6:10that. Which will help you kind of be
- 6:12cozy cam relaxed and a little bit reset.
- 6:15If you will in this kind of like that busy hustle-bustle world
- 6:19and I top it tip for this is to actually schedule in sensory
- 6:22processing to calm down time like chill out time within your
- 6:26daily routine because the more you can put this into your daily
- 6:29life, the easier that you will be during the day when Century
- 6:33issues occur because you've had time to kind of recharge your
- 6:35batteries in a way, which is a really good thing.
- 6:37And something that is Paramount in this situation.
- 6:40Okay, guys, let's get To number four, number four is wearing
- 6:43headphones and sunglasses. Now, obviously one of the main
- 6:47ways that people can sense the world around them is through
- 6:49their eyes and through their ears and this is a lot of the
- 6:52time, really difficult for people on the autism spectrum,
- 6:54like having so much noise input, and filtered is quite
- 6:58overwhelming and cause things like meltdowns and burnouts and
- 7:01things like that. And also having lights too many
- 7:04lights out of Highly. Kind of like bright in your eyes
- 7:07when you are sensitive to those can cause you again to have
- 7:10distress. So there R2 hacks, we have here
- 7:12for this one is to wear a pair of sunglasses, which is a what I
- 7:18use here. These are kind of like my daily.
- 7:19Once I I kind of have on so you can wear a pair of sunglasses,
- 7:22which actually helped that filter out some of the light,
- 7:24which is kind of really cool. But also you could just wear a
- 7:27pair of headphones, any headphones would do but actually
- 7:30forget in the soundtrue headphones remote.
- 7:31So use these, it's a pretty good.
- 7:33They got great covering, really comfy and this helps block out
- 7:36and filter out all the noise. So there are headphones are do
- 7:39like noise, canceling, but there's I need if you just have
- 7:42headphones on or help filter some of that noise out which I
- 7:45find highly just amazing like highly recommend doing this
- 7:49because these two tips have really helped me a lot.
- 7:52I wear headphones a lot of the time and I also wear sunglasses
- 7:56whenever I need to and sometimes I wear sunglasses indoors as
- 7:58well. It does get funny looks from
- 7:59people but at the end of the day, I'd rather funny looks when
- 8:01be distressed. So there you have it guys.
- 8:03There's some sensory processing hacks.
- 8:05If I've missed anything, you want to add anything pop in the
- 8:07comment down below right now. I'd love to hear from you.
