- 0:00SPEAKER_00: So Tiffany just texted me this.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Uh she goes, if you did rip something, you have a two-day window to have it checked out.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: So what happens after the two days?
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Do I just start healing, you know, but sort of not right?
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: But I'm I'll start feeling better soon because that works.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would think so.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Well what am I gonna do?
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Am I going to the uh next Olympics?
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, if I'm selling hot dogs.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: But your kids are young and you want to be able to still be active with them.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: I think you should- I don't want to have a GIMP.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: I I think that my mom has a GIMP right now.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: She has a she's actually having back surgery coming up in June, and it's something with her pinched nerve.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: It's very weird to see her not the go-getter that she always is.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: I think that you should go to the ED today.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: I I don't have it's the ER.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Stop updating uh things together.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: Wait a second, but this came from 9383.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Going back to ER versus ED, it's a department, not a room in the hospital.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: So it is ED.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: My husband works there and it took me a long time.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: We don't need to change it.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: We we already had ER the TV show.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: We already have, you know, it's been generations that it's been the ER.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: I know it's a whole department.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Before the show, did you guys call it ED?
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Before uh before the show.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: I feel like the show.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Before ER the show, you mean uh first time like this show?
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: No.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: No, no, like I it makes me I know that ER popularized ER, right?
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: So I thought, well, maybe before the show everybody called it ED.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: I think, and somebody else had mentioned, and I'm trying to find the text in here because well, we get quite a few that come in on our app, just so you guys know.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Uh that's how you text us every day.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: They were even feeling the frustration of we're changing the names of everything just to change the names of them.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Come on, you know.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: You know, sometimes you evolve and things get better.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: It just depends.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't think it's better because E D is something different.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: ED.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: It's always gonna be ED is always gonna be like, Yeah, you know, I mean, yes, exactly.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: And that's something you don't want.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Well, you don't want to go to the ER or the ED, but you also don't want ED.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: Here's another one that I always think is.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Whenever you hear an ED commercial, I love how they will say instead of testosterone, they'll be like, Do you have low T?
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Low T.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Lower T.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: No, he's a rapper opening up for Ashanti tonight.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Low T.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: No, that's that's Trey Songs.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: No, well, all right, there's that's true too.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: You're right.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's DJ.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: He'll be the DJ.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Low T.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Something else that's been going on in the Twin Tiers lately, and I keep hearing everyone talk about it, is oh my gosh, make sure you check for ticks.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Oh, everybody.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: We've had multiple coworkers that have had tick bites recently and had to go get treatment for it in the ER.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: The DR?
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: ER.
- 2:42unknown: The DR.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: From a DR.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: I was about to say.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: I was about to say the person's name who recently had to have it done, but I don't I don't want to call them out.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you don't need Stacey calling you today saying all of a sudden, hey, we have a HIPAA violation.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: But this person, their leg was had this huge red bump.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Was it a bump or is it a kind of yeah?
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Well, anyway.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Infestation.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: It's kind of good timing that we're talking about this because ticks honestly, and this is one of these cases, guys, where the Scott and Alley show takes a turn from the absurd to you might actually learn something here.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: So teach me.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Came across this.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: And actually, this article is in the uh New York Post.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: We can share the link if you guys want even more on it.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: But they said these are some things to help you avoid getting, you know, tick bites, things like that.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: They say put a cerresto collar on.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: That too.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: They say uh maintain your yard.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: I guess this makes sense after I read it because they're like mow regularly and uh, you know, uh uh keep debris and stuff out of the way, you know, get it cleaned out.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I'm such a freak about this.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Well, it makes sense because of course you get longer blades of grass, it's easier for those things to touch you.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: The tick jumps on you, next thing you know, you got this giant goiter, uh, you know, tick goiter, whatever it is.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: This is where we stray a little bit from the official medical terms.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: But I'm with you.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: But you know, so that makes sense because you know, there are some people that might not be as good at keeping up at their yards as others.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: You know, you got that neighbor.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: I do.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: And uh couple of them.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Now now you know.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: So maintaining.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Actually, one of them got called out on social media the other day.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: And we'll Right, but I honestly it's actually the city that has to take care of it because the person died.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Oh I believe that's how that works.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, did they like did did that house get skipped?
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: I'm not sure.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that that that thing's gonna be tick city.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: They say uh uh choose the right ground cover.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: This is really interesting too.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: They say avoid mulch, leaf piles, or dense ground cover.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Interesting because mulch just makes it look so pretty.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: But well maybe, maybe there's maybe some people over mulch, and maybe that's what they're referring to.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: This mulch is more tick infested than this mulch, okay.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: No, but you know how sometimes you think ticks p pick and choose?
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: Well, obviously they did because we have a coworker, they're like, she's got some sweet meat.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: No, I'm I'm thinking like the amount of cover of it.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Like you sometimes a little mulch goes a long way.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Uh all right, let's see.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you're right, but okay.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Here you go.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: This is the one.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: I didn't, I this almost sounds hippy-dippy, but I love this.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Use a cedar oil spray.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Spray uh shaded corners, uh, yard edges, fence lines, and uh areas where uh neighboring pets or wildlife can pass through.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: But I want to know this is cedar oil safe for dogs?
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: Well, it's gotta be.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Cedar oil is generally safe for dogs when it is highly diluted, steam distilled, and used strictly topically on the coast.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're gonna be able to do it.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: Don't give them a shot of it.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: Right, right, right.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: Okay, good, good, good.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: And what's the last one?
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: Uh plant tick repellent plants.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: Did you know?
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: Here you go.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: Here's here's the word.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Is it lemongrass?
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Lavender.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Lavender! Yes! I got it.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: I'm good.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: So there you go.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Already planted.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Okay, good.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Lavender, rosemary, and marigolds should be planted in an area you or your pets spend the most time in.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: And then they go on.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: There's one more.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: They go on to say add fencing to keep deer and other tick carrying uh creatures out of your yard.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: And you have a fenced in yard.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: I have a fenced in yard.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but you get bears all the time.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but they don't climb the fence.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, well, that's good.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: Everything else.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: They're not coming.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they'll dump every garbage can in the uh street in the neighborhood, but they don't climb my fence.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Okay, imagine being a server.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna play you some audio next, and you get a big fat tip.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: You're like, yes, I finally got that fat tip I've always wanted.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: Fat tip.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: And then your company fires you for it.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: Wait, hold on.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna play that next.
