- 1:23Speaker 1: Keep it light.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Nice to get started.
- 1:42Speaker 2: The biggest plays at the most crucial times.
- 1:44Speaker 2: It's been him, so you really need him out there.
- 1:49Speaker 2: I know Norval was optimistic earlier in the week and that's good to hear.
- 1:54Speaker 2: It just makes me nervous that he would actually miss senior day.
- 1:57Speaker 2: That means it was something that's not just a little bumper bruise.
- 2:04Speaker 2: But yeah, you got to have him in this game, Even if it's not 100%.
- 2:08Speaker 2: If he's anything above 70, 70 or up, you want to see him give it a go.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Yeah, max Brown getting the start for the Gators.
- 2:18Speaker 1: They're going to try to run the ball.
- 2:20Speaker 1: They have good running backs.
- 2:24Speaker 2: They do.
- 2:25Speaker 2: They have a great running back.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:28Speaker 2: The little, the little TE, little itty and Trevor, I think is their best back.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I think he's clearly, you know he may even be on that elite tier.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I think he's that good.
- 2:38Speaker 2: You know his brother was elite.
- 2:39Speaker 2: You know I don't think there's really much of a drop off.
- 2:42Speaker 2: They're just different body types, just different running styles.
- 2:45Speaker 2: But he's scary man and Montreal Johnson is not.
- 2:49Speaker 2: You know he doesn't have that same top end speed but he's still a powerful running back guy that can eat you up and that's you know.
- 2:56Speaker 2: And they got speed at receiver, which is dangerous, and you know a run heavy team that can hit you over the top when you're not expecting it.
- 3:03Speaker 2: You know this is going to be.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I expect a lot of craziness coming out of their offense.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Napier has got us back against the wall.
- 3:11Speaker 2: They got to have this.
- 3:14Speaker 2: You know I expect them to get a little bit squirrely with stuff.
- 3:20Speaker 2: So yeah, they have the toolshed scheme, toolshed scheme on both sides man.
- 3:27Speaker 1: So what?
- 3:28Speaker 1: What do you want to see offensively for FSU?
- 3:29Speaker 1: A run game?
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeah, Other teams have been able to run on on Florida this season.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Get the ball to your guys on the outside too.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Coleman, when you need them, yeah, and I think Jaheem Bell right.
- 3:42Speaker 2: That I would love to see.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Jaheem Bell have a game against Florida, like he did when he was playing for South Carolina, where he just takes over.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I would like to see that tight ends are the quarterbacks best friend, especially a guy making his first career start.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody else needs to step up, especially the O line and the running backs.
- 4:03Speaker 1: You want to see them, kind of you know you're going to see them, you know the back, so you want to see them.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Kind of, take the initiative for the offense, maybe get take less pressure off Tate.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Yeah, allow him to be just the game manager.
- 4:18Speaker 2: And if you don't see it, don't be afraid to the punt the ball.
- 4:23Speaker 1: You know, I say it again.
- 4:24Speaker 1: You don't want to give Florida easy points here.
- 4:29Speaker 2: No, you don't Let let Billy be the one that makes those boneheaded coaching decisions in this one.
- 4:35Speaker 2: That that's also something I'd like to see.
- 4:38Speaker 2: No untimely.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Going forward on fourth down and not getting it.
- 4:43Speaker 2: But I mean, you know, a win, dude, just win, find a way to do it.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Um, it's Because you know you got Louisville next week right.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Louisville next week regardless.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a whole another ballgame.
- 5:03Speaker 1: And we talked about it, you know earlier.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Florida's averaging 29.6 points a game.
- 5:10Speaker 1: They're giving up 27.9.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Florida State 40 points a game, giving up 17.
- 5:16Speaker 1: All the numbers, all the metrics.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Look at Florida as the better team.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Florida State is a better team here, but this is a rivalry game.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I mean Florida's often 6.23 yards of play, giving up 6.66.
- 5:30Speaker 1: We again, florida States is 6.89, giving up 4.94.
- 5:37Speaker 1: So Don't turn the ball over.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Use your roster.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Get the ball to the, the guys that you brought in here to do this job, like Keon Coleman, like the tight end, both tight ends warlock to both tight ends the hembel and warlock have both made a huge impact this year.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Continue to do that.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Don't Simplify the game plan Run when you have to throw it away.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Don't risk turning the ball over.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I made it and I just, if there's one game when you're gonna have to be ready to fight Upfront, you know, defensive and offensive line, just this is gonna be it you got to be prepared to just take it to them, because that's, that's how you're gonna win, that's how you're gonna lose.
- 6:33Speaker 2: If you lose up front, you're not gonna win this game.
- 6:35Speaker 2: You know there's no, there's no Jordan Travis back there to extend the plays and anything like that.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Like you gotta, you got to win it up front.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Yeah, like I said before he came up, man it.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Tray Benson sent that 743 yards.
- 6:52Speaker 2: You know there's no reason why he's not Incapable of doing what Ray Davis at Kentucky did earlier.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Now, I get it.
- 7:01Speaker 2: They're on the road.
- 7:02Speaker 2: So that's probably a little bit of an unreasonable expectation to put up 250 yards.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's the, that's the kind of thing that's gonna just, you know, take this game over.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Outstanding performance from one of your skill players.
- 7:19Speaker 1: They're gonna try to confuse rather maker, so you stay ahead of the chains here.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Make the plays easy.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Maybe some easy play action reads if you can run the ball, that opens up the whole playbook for him.
- 7:31Speaker 1: So things to look out for are that you want to see floor state you able to run the ball.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Maybe some quick passes to start, you know, to loosen up the defense, to make it Easier to run, because they got a thing you know, florida's got Florida states gonna try to run, you know.
- 7:48Speaker 1: So they're in that tool shed, yeah, you know when I'll be.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I'll be honest with you, man.
- 7:53Speaker 2: I really hope that we don't see a lot of the the play action boot To the tight end.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yeah, well, man, in terms of some, screens.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I got you, I got you, but that's a play, that's that Florida state is has featured heavily with Jordan Travis and it's been really, really successful most, most of the time they run it, but when you run it with Tate it's completely different.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Yeah, he just he doesn't have that same kind of quick twitch on that bootleg.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I hope they just keep it straight.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Drop.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Quick passes mean you know maybe two or three steps.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Hit the hit the wide receiver screens, hit this like yeah, yeah but man it's.
- 8:31Speaker 1: It'd be nice to be able to rely heavy on that run game right, and that means the quarterback might be called upon to run the ball.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he's not.
- 8:44Speaker 2: You know he's no slowpoke.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I mean he can scoot, it's not as much.
- 8:49Speaker 2: You know quick jukes and and you know sudden movements.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I mean you got to kind of have a lane for him to run in.
- 8:56Speaker 2: But yeah, if you got to keep him honest on that, read option when pull it in and go and he can get it done.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Oh man, just getting nervous about this game.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I know you feel nervous about these rivalry games yeah, I always do.
- 9:16Speaker 2: And then you know it's sitting in the stands and seeing Jordan Travis get hurt and you're just like man that's.
- 9:20Speaker 2: It'd be nice to be at this game.
- 9:25Speaker 1: It's cool to see him already back at practice, though yeah, and I love what Vir said, that he's we're not doing it for him, we're doing it with him.
- 9:32Speaker 1: He's here with us.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:36Speaker 1: They're gonna need all the all the spiritual and emotional help they can get.
- 9:40Speaker 1: It's gonna be Raucus environment, probably the toughest they've seen all year.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Swamp is a tough place to go in and get a win at night.
- 9:50Speaker 1: That's loud.
- 9:51Speaker 2: It's hostile, crazy.
- 9:54Speaker 2: You know it looks weird.
- 9:57Speaker 2: The design is fucking.
- 10:00Speaker 1: They want nothing more.
- 10:01Speaker 1: This would be orange Ugly orange color they really need this win for their program.
- 10:04Speaker 1: They're gonna put throw out all the stops.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean this is, this is Billy Napier, you know, determines next year for him.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Like I mean, if you go five and seven, after six and seven, I don't care that your quarterback got hurt and that you know Right.
- 10:25Speaker 2: It was.
- 10:26Speaker 2: He's going into next year effectively as a lame duck coach, without being that.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Looking at that schedule, it's just it gets really tight for him and this, this would do a lot of goodwill, you know, ruining Florida States.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, giving yourself more practices, giving yourself a bowl game, I mean, yeah, I mean, that does wonders for the improvement of the team but for himself and like, hit the heat from the boosters and the administration.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Like, if you pull something off that gives them something to crow about over an end state rival, then you know your seat gets a little cooler.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Yeah, now you're still going to have to win next year and that's a that's a really tough schedule.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Yeah Well, you know there's people saying the Florida state needs to dominate this game.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I don't they just need to win the next two games and they should be in.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I don't care if they're by one point, don't.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I mean, these are quality opponents.
- 11:22Speaker 1: At Florida at night Is a is a tough place to play and on the you're playing a one loss Louisville team.
- 11:31Speaker 1: If they beat Kentucky, they should.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they're going to be a top 10 team If they they take care of business against Kentucky.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I don't want to hear any of this.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Have to dominate crap.
- 11:45Speaker 1: They just need to win the games.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and they deserve to be in, and if they lose in the semifinal, they're not going to lose like TCU did.
- 11:56Speaker 2: And what I hope is that the adversity that hit from last week, you know Travis being out, the team is just completely not even.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of players.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Yeah, no, they shouldn't be there, shouldn't be in the next.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I mean, you got to play Florida First of all.
- 12:10Speaker 1: You don't need it.
- 12:11Speaker 1: That's enough in itself.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Every year that you know that's the most hated rival.
- 12:17Speaker 1: You know you have a rivalry that was forced into action by the dad gum governor.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Okay, this is a hated rivalry.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and this is, this is state title man yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 2: You win this, your state champs yeah.
- 12:35Speaker 1: You win this.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Your state champs again, although Florida shouldn't qualify.
- 12:40Speaker 2: None of them play.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Either of them qualify Doesn't mean that we don't get our trophy.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Yeah, big game, big rivalry game, then next week the championship of the ACC.
- 12:50Speaker 1: So a lot to play for.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I just, you know, keep your fingers crossed everybody.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Well, you know, florida state should go in just execute.
- 13:05Speaker 1: If they play their game, they should take care of business.
- 13:09Speaker 1: But I think it's going to be a close.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It's going to be a good game, so it's going to.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I really think it's going to come down to whoever wins the turnover battle.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I still think six points is high for the spread, no matter who wins, oh you of course you do.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I think it's fair.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Yeah, six and a half, I mean you got an undefeated team going into five and 16.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I mean it's going to be both with the.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I mean, if Graham Merz was playing, I would that would be surprised.
- 13:41Speaker 2: What do you think the spread would be if he was?
- 13:43Speaker 1: I would say probably three less.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Maybe Florida state by three if Merz was in, maybe I don't know.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I mean, there's part of me that thinks this might.
- 13:55Speaker 1: This is an element of surprise that they'll have Florida.
- 13:58Speaker 1: You know they have a whole new system showcase here.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Max Brown's a whole different type of player.
- 14:07Speaker 1: More mobility, you know.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and they've given you look at the game Florida state had against Constellanos or is that his name?
- 14:14Speaker 2: Yeah, anybody that has a mobile quarterback is.
- 14:19Speaker 2: You know they found ways to to hurt Florida state's defense, even if it hasn't really done anything in the overall result of the game.
- 14:27Speaker 2: You know Virginia Tech found success with their mobile quarterback.
- 14:30Speaker 2: It's just, it's hard to defend those kind of guys.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Yeah, now, if he can't complete no-transcript all but like maybe two different passes than it limits them.
- 14:42Speaker 2: But again, like we'll see, I expect him to throw a little bit more than they did last week.
- 14:49Speaker 2: But I don't know man, the Billy Napier is.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I don't like playing a guy that's desperate.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, no Cause he kind of has, he's gonna throw the book at you.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yeah, man, and it's still college where you can have a guy that that be a career.
- 15:10Speaker 2: 35% completion rate, yeah.
- 15:13Speaker 2: And then all of a sudden come out and look like Phil Sims for a game.
- 15:19Speaker 1: This will be it.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I mean, it's gonna be 7 PM on ESPN.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Valor Herbstree are doing the game and you got the big one, the big game Michigan, ohio State.
- 15:33Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on this game?
- 15:37Speaker 2: My thoughts are that it's gonna be a close game, a boring game for big 10 boring, yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 2: And then we'll have to hear about how both teams no matter which team wins or loses deserve to be in the playoff.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Honestly, I hope whoever wins just kicks the crap out of the other team Right.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Who do you think?
- 16:00Speaker 2: is gonna win this game.
- 16:02Speaker 2: I go back, I think Ohio.
- 16:04Speaker 1: State, michigan, three and a half favorite at home.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Yeah, Like are they?
- 16:08Speaker 2: This is it, man.
- 16:10Speaker 2: This is a game.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Marvin Harris can do.
- 16:12Speaker 2: I'm gonna say this if Ryan day doesn't win this game, you're gonna go ahead and heat up the rumors of Ryan day to Texas, saying them because you know that that fan base in Columbus is going to effectively they're going to be done with them.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I don't know that the administration will feel that way, but I mean, that's how they are up there right now.
- 16:33Speaker 2: They don't.
- 16:34Speaker 2: They don't care about the playoff appearances or anything like that.
- 16:37Speaker 2: It's like you've lost to Michigan three times in a row.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm picking Ohio State close, though, oh wow.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I think Michigan's gonna win.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Even without milk steak.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Yeah Well, he's not there for this one.
- 16:53Speaker 2: No, he's there in spirit.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 16:57Speaker 2: He was there the whole week.
- 16:58Speaker 2: You know like what?
- 16:59Speaker 2: What is it?
- 16:59Speaker 2: Okay, I can't be at the games.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Great, he's still at practice, he's still in all the team meetings.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Yeah, like they're going to suspend them.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I mean, like you can't work for three weeks.
- 17:08Speaker 1: And that remission Corbin, that running back man, he's tough yeah.
- 17:13Speaker 2: He's going to be hard to stop the salt off.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Guys, the low center of gravity guys.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I mean they just run the ball.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Five foot seven dudes will get you.
- 17:20Speaker 1: They're going to be able to throw it a little bit more at having the game at home.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I will say that that Ohio State's defense is sneaky.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Oh, they're real good yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 1: They're real good this year.
- 17:32Speaker 1: That's going to whoever can throw the ball better in this game in Ohio State has the best receiver on the field, so that'll be key for them.
- 17:41Speaker 1: We'll watch all the games, we'll react to them big week and we'll talk to you next time right here on the North Florida sports network.
- 17:48Speaker 1: We had to go.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Our ride was here.
- 17:51Speaker 1: We got a shuttle.
- 17:53Speaker 1: We got a shuttle.
