Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea by PJ Harvey
Often cited as her “happy album”, this is a record that finds Harvey drawing energy from big cities, new love, and the rush of being caught up in something larger than yourself. This was Harvey reclaiming the electric guitar as her primary storytelling tool, and the result is some of the most immediate and melodic music of her career. It’s a love letter — to people, to places, to possibility — and a reminder that even an artist famed for her ferocity can make joy sound radical.
