- 3:05Speaker 4: And we have Ohio Liquor.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Ohio Liquor Alright, so okay.
- 3:10Speaker 3: So I'm always wrong.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I'm just behind right.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Welcome man, okay, so okay, ohio Liquor Alright.
- 3:19Speaker 3: And then also we've got CT what's up everybody.
- 3:23Speaker 3: And we've got Supernash myself, tiny thank you, are you squisky tonight?
- 3:29Speaker 3: Yes, we're going.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 3:31Speaker 3: We're excited because here in our state of Ohio there's a lot of unique things that have been happening.
- 3:39Speaker 3: And on this leap year, february 29th a day that only exists every once in a while we are doing a podcast to get ready for what's happening this weekend, starting tomorrow and going throughout the weekend, and then it will run all the way up till St Patrick's Day, and then I think you're putting enough Irish whiskey into this area and then I hope they do what they do and everybody across the whole United States gets to taste Irish whiskey Based off of what Ohio did, because it's kind of fantastic.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I'm just going to skip all the promotion.
- 4:21Speaker 3: We'll do that at the end.
- 4:22Speaker 3: It's exciting tonight because just my point of view is like you go and there's so much creativity that happens in the whiskey industry as far as marketing and stories and everything, but this is unique and when something happens that hasn't happened even throughout time, I mean everything's come together for the state of Ohio to be able to do this, and then when you try and look back into history, it's not something that happens.
- 5:07Speaker 3: There's just so much of what you guys have done as far as marketing and then education, and tonight, I'm looking at it as a learning experience for myself, getting ready for this weekend, because I'm going to be up in Cleveland with you guys on Saturday and then on Sunday morning we're going to be podcasting with Martin Kennedy and Pat Burns, the creator of Buah Irish whiskey, here in their Ohio based, having an Irish whiskey, and then they have their Burns pub and we're going to be there to kick that off because they are participating in this fully.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I look forward to meeting Martin Kennedy and Pat Burns, for you know I've been talking to Martin Kennedy a couple times, but to actually meet them in person and then drink high proof whiskey on a Sunday morning and then head over to the event that you're doing in Dublin, ohio, that should be exciting.
- 6:11Speaker 3: So welcome to the podcast and give us like a little intro of where this all came from.
- 6:19Speaker 3: You know how did it start?
- 6:22Speaker 4: How did it start?
- 6:23Speaker 4: So what we're talking about, the big overall thing, is OHLQ Ohio liquor Irish cast and craft, and this is a curated selection.
- 6:35Speaker 4: It started actually a couple years ago and it was through a fortuitous meeting with this lovely gal from Borgbia, which is the Irish food and beverage board.
- 6:50Speaker 4: They actually have a people that are dedicated to bringing Irish whiskey and Irish food abroad, so to the United States, to different, like key markets, and basically convey to people the quality, the value, the uniqueness that goes into Irish food and Irish spirits.
- 7:14Speaker 4: So they came to Ohio a couple years ago it was almost exactly two years ago and did a presentation called Spirit of Ireland and invited bars and restaurants and people that worked in OHLQ locations like the liquor stores actually and from there the conversation continued and turned into them connecting Ohio liquor with 20 some different distilleries, some of them we already were working with and had some of their products.
- 7:49Speaker 4: But we basically worked with all of these different distilleries directly to bring more than 80 products.
- 7:59Speaker 4: A lot of limited release, a lot of single barrels.
- 8:03Speaker 4: We have 20 some different single barrels that are being released.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Before this we've actually never done an Irish single barrel, single cask offering.
- 8:13Speaker 4: We have some Irish gin that's coming to the market, which some of the bars and restaurants have had a chance to fry these ahead of time and the response to the gin especially, has been unbelievable.
- 8:29Speaker 4: So we have, you know, pink gin and some beautiful stuff.
- 8:33Speaker 4: It's pretty exciting, but a lot of them are craft distillers, craft producers.
- 8:39Speaker 4: It's limited amounts of the products and so kind of.
- 8:45Speaker 4: For one time we're releasing this big collection.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Big is an understatement.
- 8:52Speaker 3: It's over 20 people who participated right, I think it's like 24 distilleries now.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and then some of them have multiple products.
- 9:06Speaker 4: As far as what they're releasing, so one of them is Middleton, which is the producer of Everyone Knows Jameson Redbreast the Spots, so they're a huge producer in the market already.
- 9:23Speaker 4: To celebrate this release, we're doing a series of release events one in Cincinnati on Friday night and in Cleveland on Saturday, columbus on Sunday and two of the events we're actually going to have.
- 9:37Speaker 4: The master distiller of Middleton, kevino Gorman, will be their signing bottles and he rarely comes to the United States oh and of course that's fun.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Yes, you can learn about all of this.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yes, go ahead.
- 9:55Speaker 4: I was going to say on OHLQcom.
- 9:57Speaker 4: So you're actually looking at our event pages and I was looking today and we post different events throughout the year.
- 10:04Speaker 4: We'll have bottle signings and special guests come to market things like Single Barrel Saturday, and these three events have seen more traffic than any event in the past 12 months.
- 10:16Speaker 4: So we're looking forward to seeing everybody.
- 10:21Speaker 6: And you guys were able to secure a pretty big personality, I guess is a good way to put it.
- 10:30Speaker 6: But in this industry, and why don't you talk about that?
- 10:34Speaker 6: That's pretty cool.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Sure.
- 10:36Speaker 4: So the host of all of our OHLQ Irish Caskin Craft events.
- 10:42Speaker 4: We're going to be joined by Fred Minnick this weekend, so he will be there taking pictures, meeting everybody, meeting of the distillers.
- 10:53Speaker 4: You'll probably see him doing some live content going out there.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Ohio is the fourth largest market in America for domestic whisky.
- 11:04Speaker 4: So bourbon, rye, single malt, all of that, and that's behind California, texas, florida, three states.
- 11:14Speaker 4: We have almost nothing in common with you.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Think about population.
- 12:05Speaker 4: You think about all the e-commerce that goes out of California that factors into their volume.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Think about the tourism in Florida, and then we come right after that.
- 12:16Speaker 4: So it's a huge.
- 12:18Speaker 4: American whisky market and there's a little less knowledge out there about Irish whisky.
- 12:24Speaker 4: So as part of this, yes, we're bringing in Fred Minnick, who's very well known in the American whisky community, but if you follow his content, he talks about whisky worldwide.
- 12:35Speaker 4: He talks about gin, he talks about responsible consumption.
- 12:39Speaker 4: He really is Mr Spirits.
- 12:42Speaker 4: The other part of it is that on OHLQcom we have a whole bunch of articles, content, recipes that are new, telling the stories of these different distillers, how the products are made.
- 12:57Speaker 4: So if you want to dive in, it's a great place.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 13:05Speaker 3: I mean, there's no doubt you can pick that up, coming up, for instance, you're going to be in Cincinnati tomorrow and then Cleveland the next day.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Talk about the actual event and what someone who would attend.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I mean the one.
- 13:23Speaker 3: I believe the it's a giant Jungle.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Jim's is the Cincinnati, the giant eagle in Strongsville, right, yep, and then also.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Then they're in Dublin.
- 13:37Speaker 3: You say the name of the place.
- 13:39Speaker 3: It sounds so.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Actual wine and spirits.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Right, so you're at.
- 13:44Speaker 3: So what would someone coming to this expect?
- 13:48Speaker 3: I mean, what is the event?
- 13:51Speaker 3: I mean, you know, are there going to be small samples?
- 13:56Speaker 3: How is it set up?
- 13:59Speaker 4: So if you've ever gone into an OHLQ location and you saw somebody that was there and pour examples of something and it's 50 cents and you know there's maybe one or two things that you can try, this is like that on steroids, only we're actually going to have on hand a lot of the founders of the different distilleries.
- 14:22Speaker 4: So we have Louise, the founder of JJ Corey, sir Morris O'Connell from Waiverdiver Spirits, we have the husband and wife team that founded Mahirani Jin.
- 14:35Speaker 4: There's, of course, we'll have Buah Martin and Pat Freda Minnet, kevin O'Gorman, so you'll actually get to meet the different actual producers.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Many came over from Ireland for this event.
- 14:48Speaker 4: They are offering tastings just like you would find in a normal liquor location sampling.
- 14:56Speaker 4: It's the 50 cents.
- 14:58Speaker 4: We'll have tasting cards.
- 15:00Speaker 4: There's some other fun surprises when you get there, but we might have some special gift packs that you can create.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Your own tour across the Emerald Isle.
- 15:12Speaker 4: There's some fun stuff that we have in store and you'll be able to meet lots of people.
- 15:19Speaker 6: And if somebody is, will the bottles.
- 15:21Speaker 6: I guess kind of a dumb question, but will the bottles be available to buy at that event?
- 15:27Speaker 4: Absolutely so.
- 15:29Speaker 4: At the Jungle Jim's event on Friday, we will be in Oscar Station, which is, if anybody had a chance to come to our liquor nation events Maybe a year and a half ago or so it's basically like a pop-up store with all of these products and you'll actually be able to go around, meet with the distillers, they will be offering tastings and the product will be right there, shelled right next to the table.
- 15:56Speaker 4: So if you love it, you can take it with you, and we are to responsibly Awesome that's possible.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Yes, this is actually where Will they sign the bottles.
- 16:05Speaker 4: They will sign the bottles.
- 16:08Speaker 4: This is where the single casks are making their world premiere debut.
- 16:14Speaker 5: What time does this event start?
- 16:16Speaker 5: Tomorrow?
- 16:17Speaker 4: Tomorrow Jungle Jim's is from 5 to 7 at the Jungle Jim's Oscar Station, and Saturday and Sunday are from 12 to 2, so plenty of time to meet everybody and get back home.
- 16:36Speaker 5: Get back home From South Carolina, right?
- 16:39Speaker 5: Oh my God.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Well Nash you got lots of time.
- 16:46Speaker 3: We're going.
- 16:47Speaker 3: You can meet me up here and I'll, we'll go to Cleveland and then we'll just go down Sunday morning.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I mean that I am so looking forward to, I mean, really, when it comes down to it.
- 17:00Speaker 3: And you're you're the one who introduced me to Martin Kennedy and I was talking to him and it's it's really cool that we were trying to do this this whole of you know to do this podcast from the Burns Pub, which then he was dealing with Pat trying to make it work.
- 17:24Speaker 3: But the fact that we're making it work on this weekend is it's kind of like some, I don't know it's it just worked out like in a fantasy kind of thing.
- 17:36Speaker 3: It's just that we have to drink responsibly because I don't know, as you know, when you usually are in an Irish pub with people who made the Irish whiskey as a CT found out when he was at the event you know the social media event earlier in February that they expect you to participate with them and they are probably most Irish whiskey drinking people from Ireland are professionals compared to us here.
- 18:18Speaker 6: I think, Ned was the one who said that I had that each table had like a place you could pour your sample out, so you didn't have to drink it all, and he was like we don't do that in Ireland.
- 18:30Speaker 6: I'm like okay, well, drink all of these and we'll see how they are.
- 18:36Speaker 3: I mean I don't know about you and, but recently I've actually gotten myself to a point where I know when it's time to either dump, taste and dump, and you know that kind of thing because when you're drinking a lot of whiskey, but I could tell you, if you're in front of an Irish man, you better figure out a way to do it that he don't see it because they are not good.
- 19:02Speaker 3: So there's no doubt.
- 19:04Speaker 3: But this is exciting, I mean.
- 19:05Speaker 3: So then talk about the aspect of like this marketing campaign for OHLQ and Ohio, for Ohio liquor is different than any other.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I mean it's it's spanning multiple locations and it's the times of the release and how much it is.
- 19:29Speaker 3: It's kind of like exciting that you guys are doing this and how I mean you've done the single barrel things with bourbon and you have that organized, but that's like a single barrel weekend or release and it's that one kind of event.
- 19:45Speaker 3: This is almost like you know there's there's a difference.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Those are like going to a movie or a play.
- 19:52Speaker 3: This is like going down to the convention center and it's a whole, a whole month long convention.
- 20:00Speaker 3: I mean it's kind of exciting because it'll lead up to Ohio having the best Irish whiskey in the United States at all the bars and restaurants on St Patrick's Day.
- 20:12Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know.
- 20:13Speaker 3: You know, like you said, now you can also talk about what is the number one Irish whiskey.
- 20:19Speaker 3: I mean, for the most part, as you guys know from the stats, it's Jameson.
- 20:24Speaker 3: That's what people drink and this should open up people's eyes to other Irish whiskey brands, including restaurants and bars.
- 20:37Speaker 4: So that we actually this is the first time where we've done an opportunity for restaurants and bars to meet with the distillers ahead of time and have a chance to order the products before the retail release.
- 20:52Speaker 4: So that was so that they could get out ahead of time and you might go into your local pub and find, hey, I've got this new thing.
- 21:02Speaker 4: The other side benefit of that is when you can actually connect.
- 21:07Speaker 4: So many of these distilleries are truly small businesses, that's you know.
- 21:13Speaker 4: You can see that by the number of actual founders that we have coming over for this, and so many of the bars and restaurants in Ohio are also small businesses, and so it's really cool to see small business owners meeting across the pond, other small business owners and there's so much synergy between those two and the education about the product and you really are uniting two people that each have a dream and are chasing that dream, and it's it's very cool to see the brands and then our actual Ohio hubs connecting with them.
- 21:48Speaker 4: It's been neat.
- 21:51Speaker 5: Yeah, that is really neat, you can tell that at the event.
- 21:56Speaker 6: There was several Irish pubs at that event and they were excited.
- 22:01Speaker 6: I think that was something for them to have that to put in their, you know, on their shelves and their bars to be able to offer something that fits their clientele a little better, I think.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Well, in Irish bar in the United States everyone I've ever been there's a certain part of the culture of the neighborhood that the bars in and it's like they're all family.
- 22:30Speaker 3: They know each other.
- 22:32Speaker 3: A lot of them are from Ireland or children of people who are from Ireland and they stayed together and that is still to the to this day where Irish people meet and talk.
- 22:45Speaker 3: You know they, they, they, they and you know get together.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I mean either church or the bar either, or.
- 22:53Speaker 3: But at the same time I think they're excited because you're bringing more Ireland to them, whereas before you know they didn't.
- 23:07Speaker 3: I mean those, the distilleries that you're bringing and marketing and how you're putting them into Ohio and teaching them the rules of Ohio.
- 23:16Speaker 3: But as they get, that allows them to distribute into where they were never distributing before and reach the people who drink Irish whiskey.
- 23:26Speaker 3: And I know that you had said that 50% of people who drink Irish whiskey it's a, it's a, it's a half and half formula 5050, 50% Irish Irish whiskey at the bar and 50% out of the stores.
- 23:42Speaker 3: And that's not the case with bourbon.
- 23:45Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Bourbon is way more people purchase the bourbon than they drink at the at the actual restaurants and bars, and you know that it's probably changed a little bit during the bourbon boom or now you have actual bourbon bars, whereas before that, you know, you couldn't survive with just being a bourbon bar.
- 24:06Speaker 3: You know as much as you can nowadays, but at the same time, with that dynamic of that 5050, and they're going to be able to purchase it there and you're getting it to the bars and restaurants, that's just an awareness of mark, a market that I also am.
- 24:24Speaker 3: You know that, where I, as a whiskey, leaning towards American whiskey and bourbon and we podcast Irish whiskeys and Japanese whiskeys, but at the same time this makes me excited to try other Irish whiskeys beyond St Patrick's Day.
- 24:45Speaker 5: So I was going to say very much so that it excites me, because I've always been a whiskey and bourbon guy.
- 24:52Speaker 5: But when Jeff started telling me about what was going on with the Irish whiskey and all that and I've always had Jameson on the shelf- no matter what.
- 25:03Speaker 5: But actually went up and I've always like read for us.
- 25:07Speaker 5: But I actually went up and picked up a bottle of teal and I was trying to get a couple more bottles but I just, you know, it was just pushed for time today Save your money for it.
- 25:19Speaker 4: We'll get you some, we'll get you some, and Tealing actually sent some amazing single cast.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Yes.
- 25:30Speaker 6: Yes.
- 25:31Speaker 3: So my question now?
- 25:32Speaker 3: My question is okay.
- 25:34Speaker 3: So how much of this is single cast Were you guys were where it was picked as a cast and how much of it is batched?
- 25:44Speaker 3: I mean, is it batched or is it all single cast?
- 25:47Speaker 3: I mean, it seems no it's not single cast, it's.
- 25:53Speaker 4: So some of them are products and it would be like their core product and it's coming to Ohio for the first time, or some of these are actually.
- 26:05Speaker 4: They may have some very limited e commerce distribution in the United States, but almost nothing.
- 26:11Speaker 4: So this is kind of their debut into actually being in a regular liquor store.
- 26:18Speaker 4: I wanted to go back and add the 50%, 5050.
- 26:23Speaker 4: So most, most categories you know are like 80% of the volume of the sales is done in the retail store and 20% is bar in the restaurants.
- 26:36Speaker 4: For bourbon it's even higher.
- 26:39Speaker 4: It's an even bigger split where it's more in the retail, less in the bars and restaurants, because it's just so huge.
- 26:47Speaker 4: But Irish whiskey is unique in that 55% is done in liquor stores and 45% is in bars and restaurants.
- 26:57Speaker 4: So it that was actually where we took the products first to bars and restaurants, because that's where the interest is.
- 27:05Speaker 4: We also saw a ton of interest in these products from cocktail bars and from bourbon bars because you know a lot of us Jameson is fantastic, but if you never go to that next level, you never go to that next step.
- 27:23Speaker 4: You're not aware that there's actually cask strength Irish whiskey out there.
- 27:27Speaker 4: Or you know Irish whiskey that's 21 years old and it's really lovely.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Well, you know, giving that basically.
- 27:38Speaker 6: And there's so many different casts that they use similar to bourbon.
- 27:42Speaker 6: You know you're getting most of the time they're using X bourbon barrels and wine and whatnot, but you do get the chance where teal in is offering a virgin oak barrel that they're using for one of the OHLQ bottles.
- 27:57Speaker 6: It's freaking amazing.
- 27:59Speaker 6: And I'll get a shout out to Jason C from the Mash and Drone.
- 28:02Speaker 6: He and I've been chatting as he's on here.
- 28:04Speaker 6: Jason and I both agree that bottle was, the cognac was good, but that that red label virgin oak was was special, as were the whistlers which you know and talk about that a little bit, because the whistler is the first thing that is kind of introduced into to start this whole you know thing.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Oh, so this is actually.
- 28:30Speaker 4: It's a wonderful whistler I have my thing, family owned distillery.
- 28:35Speaker 4: It's just maybe like 2530 minutes north of Dublin.
- 28:39Speaker 4: I want to add that, especially for people in the Cleveland area, there's a direct flight from Cleveland to Dublin.
- 28:48Speaker 4: It's like four or five hours.
- 28:50Speaker 4: Air link us right out of the Cleveland airport.
- 28:53Speaker 4: It is so easy so you can go for you know, a long weekend, basically to Dublin.
- 28:59Speaker 4: But we through them were able to try some different barrels.
- 29:06Speaker 4: There is a tequila finished.
- 29:08Speaker 4: We came out with the.
- 29:09Speaker 4: It's a PX sherry cast finish.
- 29:11Speaker 4: There's cask one and cask two, and so this was kind of our teaser launch in the whole OHLQ Irish casking craft in terms of you know it's called PX.
- 29:22Speaker 4: I love you so we're like.
- 29:23Speaker 6: Oh, it's our Valentine's Day, barrel, so how many, how many of the whistlers will be introduced on this event, because there's the.
- 29:41Speaker 6: Barbados the.
- 29:42Speaker 4: Barbados cast that I'm drinking the rum, and then there was the tequila, and there was another one, I believe a quarter peter cask, which is that's another like bottled at cask strength, I like to call it the Batman barrel.
- 30:03Speaker 3: A peter, a quarter.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Peter cast strength, Peter cast strength.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Did you try that yet?
- 30:12Speaker 3: Ct.
- 30:14Speaker 6: The peter was not available to try.
- 30:16Speaker 6: I don't believe there was.
- 30:17Speaker 6: There was a few that you could try, but peter, I believe was not.
- 30:21Speaker 6: I will tell you when I was there I don't profess to be a petered person.
- 30:28Speaker 6: I don't like a lowland pete.
- 30:32Speaker 6: That's so heavy that some of those gotchas will do.
- 30:34Speaker 6: But we were talking about Ned, or you know his their.
- 30:40Speaker 6: They have a full petered version and I drank it and it was actually really good.
- 30:46Speaker 6: So I think it just depends on where you get it, how it's done.
- 30:51Speaker 6: I think who is it that's putting 10% in theirs, ian?
- 30:55Speaker 6: Is it Ben Roddy?
- 30:58Speaker 6: It does like a 10% pete.
- 31:02Speaker 4: So Unrye is also.
- 31:05Speaker 4: I don't remember what their percentages are.
- 31:07Speaker 4: They are actually best known as producers of Mead and it's again family owned and they are blending, but it's several different types of barrels and I would have to go to OHLQcom and read, because they actually they do tell you exactly like what they're pulling from and they're like, oh yeah we've got some aged in American oak for this to bring in this characteristic and all of this stuff.
- 31:39Speaker 6: But I think it's like that.
- 31:40Speaker 6: When he first explained it to me I was like and it is, it's a when Roddy has a pita de malt mixed in.
- 31:49Speaker 6: And again the bottles.
- 31:51Speaker 6: The price points in these are crazy because they're so cheap compared to what we're seeing in bourbon and especially secondary bourbon.
- 31:57Speaker 6: But I had not, I did not expect it, but that gave it a really nice complexity.
- 32:03Speaker 6: That little bit of peat in there, you're not drinking the Whistler are you?
- 32:08Speaker 6: I am, I switched over, so drinking a menta thing.
- 32:13Speaker 6: I like the PX sharing, but I man that Barbados rum cast is just.
- 32:19Speaker 6: That speaks my sweet tooth language I like it a lot.
- 32:24Speaker 3: I'm so glad you got to go there.
- 32:27Speaker 6: Yeah you're well, and I'm so glad I'm drinking it now.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Yeah, did that other.
- 32:30Speaker 3: So how many samples were you able to obtain for the podcast CT?
- 32:36Speaker 3: And where did you?
- 32:38Speaker 3: You didn't have to go to Toledo A box full, a box full.
- 32:44Speaker 6: So your, I went to the big city of Columbus, Ohio, which was about 20 minutes from my house.
- 32:50Speaker 3: So why did?
- 32:51Speaker 3: Why did she?
- 32:52Speaker 3: In the email did she say that it was the place in Toledo.
- 32:58Speaker 3: So you called you, called up and talked to her and everything and said it out.
- 33:03Speaker 6: Yeah, she just reworked it out and I just went in and she had it all ready to go and there's a mixture.
- 33:08Speaker 6: Obviously there's not everything in here that was there.
- 33:10Speaker 6: But you know, like the JJ Corey which I, I did not get to drink any of that in at the event.
- 33:17Speaker 6: As funny as it is, I thought that would be so much time.
- 33:21Speaker 6: But by the time you went around and tried a few things, talked to people ate the cheesecake, tried a few things, went back and ate the cheesecake.
- 33:28Speaker 6: I did not make it all of the different places, but, holy cow, I didn't realize.
- 33:36Speaker 6: This.
- 33:36Speaker 6: Jj Corey is so good and it's just their standard bottle that, I believe, is already out on the shelves in Ohio for about 40 bucks $45.
- 33:45Speaker 6: The.
- 33:46Speaker 4: Hanson, you know it's actually already out.
- 33:50Speaker 4: It's so good.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Yes, holy cow.
- 33:54Speaker 3: The Hanson is out already, so I just pulled it up.
- 33:59Speaker 3: It's on the website.
- 34:01Speaker 3: I was looking on the website too.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Okay, so let me understand there's a certain amount you're going to be releasing this week, but there's a certain amount that of people who were participating that have released already.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Is that what you're saying, or was they just already releasing?
- 34:17Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 34:19Speaker 4: So to explain, there were some items that, for example, with JJ Corey, they had a couple of.
- 34:28Speaker 4: They had, like the Hanson the Gale, that were already here in Ohio.
- 34:33Speaker 4: So we added those.
- 34:35Speaker 4: You know, we included those when we talked about that distillery because they were already here.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Their single cask offerings are all coming out.
- 34:43Speaker 4: So at the events, if you come to the events, everything will be there.
- 34:51Speaker 3: So you can add that Now everything will not be available for tasting, but it'll be there so, and the events are like micro whiskey festivals.
- 35:07Speaker 3: What would you like?
- 35:07Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Like I've gone to the Gleena whiskey.
- 35:11Speaker 3: It's a one day thing.
- 35:12Speaker 3: All the distributors are there distributing there's, you know, there's every kind of thing.
- 35:17Speaker 3: But this is, I mean, honestly, going further in the future.
- 35:22Speaker 3: It would be really cool to have an Irish whiskey festival and at like one of the convention centers where everybody and then you do something like this and then in the end they all do a festival and then they go home.
- 35:36Speaker 3: But I think there's the popularity.
- 35:41Speaker 3: I mean this is the.
- 35:42Speaker 3: I mean honestly, like anything else it's.
- 35:45Speaker 3: I am very impressed.
- 35:48Speaker 3: I go to a lot of festivals and event whiskey events and this is very impressive because one you're helping with this and you understand what whiskey people want.
- 36:02Speaker 3: It's like that and it's what it pretty much transfers for you know what you like also, and as a lover of whiskey and you you deliver it to the people and so I will tell everybody out there if you can get to this Cincinnati, be down at Jungle Jim's tomorrow at starting, and then also Saturday up at Strongsville Giant Eagle and then finishing up at the Dublin say, the Chateau, the.
- 36:36Speaker 3: White.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Baron Yep.
- 36:39Speaker 6: I think that's so hard to say.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Because my brain works that way.
- 36:42Speaker 3: I can hear something a hundred times and it won't.
- 36:45Speaker 6: There's just certain things that won't sink in, but everything Was it something or something.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that's probably.
- 36:51Speaker 3: It's probably about what, what somebody wrote about cheese.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Randy wrote something about you should woo women with cheese today on the, and it's just like no.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Oh, my gosh Please.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Anyways, he says he's done it before.
- 37:05Speaker 3: I'm like I'm from Wisconsin and I've never done that, so anyways, but getting back to the Irish whiskey, the events are.
- 37:15Speaker 3: I'm excited for them and you know, it's something that once again there's.
- 37:24Speaker 3: I don't think any other state is doing anything like this.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Now, you were talking about what you know, like the samples.
- 37:30Speaker 3: I mean, it's definitely you basically have, like a Napa Valley, this is what all the wineries do.
- 37:37Speaker 3: You go to a winery and it's like 25 cents to sample or 50 cents a sample and you've got that right there at the giant eagle or you know jungle gyms or the liquor store, I don't remember still.
- 37:54Speaker 3: And thank you, chateau wine and spirits, right, chateau wine and spirits, is that it Okay?
- 38:03Speaker 3: There you go, all right, so anyways.
- 38:06Speaker 3: So also now we've covered the Irish thing, and with I mean everybody.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I think I got everybody excited about St Patrick's Day.
- 38:14Speaker 3: We're gonna do a St Patrick's Day podcast that will feature everything.
- 38:20Speaker 3: We're gonna probably do another Irish Whiskey podcast after this, once we've all obtained all of our Irish whiskey and kind of go over the you know those whiskeys, what we're getting.
- 38:33Speaker 3: More I have done.
- 38:34Speaker 3: I need some.
- 38:37Speaker 4: I mean, I'm gonna be shopping this weekend, so what so if?
- 38:42Speaker 3: anybody like drinks bourbon.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Think of it this way.
- 38:45Speaker 3: You guys talk about this too.
- 38:46Speaker 3: I'm just gonna throw the subject out.
- 38:49Speaker 3: The difference between Irish whiskey, in my opinion, and bourbon a lot of bourbons is there's a lot of tasting kind of thing.
- 38:59Speaker 3: But when you're talking about Irish whiskey it's Irish whiskey isn't so much sipping as it is Like.
- 39:07Speaker 3: When you're gonna taste an Irish whiskey it's like if you're tasting it it's more like gulping.
- 39:13Speaker 3: It's just like I find if I sip it I don't really get the flavors.
- 39:19Speaker 3: But if I take it's a drink it's.
- 39:22Speaker 3: You drink it opposed to and that's one of the things why it's so popular at, let's say, bars and restaurants and everything like that because it has a more drinkable aspect of it that how it goes down.
- 39:36Speaker 3: That's all.
- 39:38Speaker 4: Okay.
- 39:38Speaker 4: So, like the entry level, like the mainstay, here's my 80 proof offering.
- 39:43Speaker 3: You know that sort of thing Like the majority of Irish whiskey.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I know that there's higher end stuff Like.
- 39:52Speaker 3: I saw that tealing on the website.
- 39:54Speaker 3: What is it?
- 39:55Speaker 3: $2,597, it's whatever.
- 39:58Speaker 6: Yeah, 3,790.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Yeah, so no, you're not going to be drinking that, but no, yeah, I think it's like.
- 40:08Speaker 6: I can't drink stuff that's out there, and the Natterjack cast-shrink that I'm drinking now, which does not drink like a typical Irish, does not have the same kind of flavors for me.
- 40:19Speaker 6: But wasn't this about 120 proof, do you remember?
- 40:23Speaker 4: Yeah, somewhere in there, and that was it.
- 40:27Speaker 4: So they have two of them.
- 40:28Speaker 4: They have the regular Natterjack it's some blend one, and then the Natterjack cast-shrink, and that is something that really was truly created by two Irishmen for the bourbon lover.
- 40:43Speaker 4: Yes, and you can tell.
- 40:45Speaker 4: You can tell.
- 40:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:48Speaker 4: So he's in Texas and he's like wait a second, I've got it.
- 40:54Speaker 6: It definitely has a different flavor profile than most of the 100% malted barley and stuff.
- 41:00Speaker 6: And it has one of the most unique brand images and when I walked up and it's a frog and I'm thinking, okay, what's a frog, have to do with it?
- 41:12Speaker 6: And it's indigenous.
- 41:13Speaker 6: It's the only indigenous frog species to Ireland the toad, the toad, not even a frog.
- 41:19Speaker 6: Yeah, I got it wrong.
- 41:21Speaker 4: And it does have a frog it walks.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:26Speaker 6: But, the barman is freaking awesome, the barman that they had with that big toad in the middle of it.
- 41:32Speaker 3: It was pretty cool.
- 41:33Speaker 3: Did you talk him out of it I?
- 41:35Speaker 6: tried okay, I tried to sweet talk the guy with more of the cheesecake that I was willingly going to give up, and I still didn't get it.
- 41:45Speaker 3: I mean, and he came back from that and he was, he called me, I was in Florida and all it wasn't talking about the whiskey, he was just going on on the cheesecake.
- 41:58Speaker 3: So that's again, that's why you guys, that's great events, that's.
- 42:07Speaker 3: You know, if not only are you there for whiskey and you get some good cheesecake, I mean that's all the reasons and I mean everybody.
- 42:16Speaker 3: I think everybody should support this to the fullest extent, even bourbon drinkers trying.
- 42:23Speaker 3: This is your chance to try Irish whiskey, cast strength Irish whiskey, all the different types of you know things to get more into other whiskeys.
- 42:33Speaker 3: But also I see this as how successful this is.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Ohio, I mean, you guys come out and full force for this.
- 42:44Speaker 3: We're going to get a lot more this type stuff and you know it just doesn't.
- 42:50Speaker 3: You know, I mean it's a, it's really exciting.
- 42:56Speaker 4: So I was going to add one more thing.
- 43:00Speaker 4: If you are out of town this weekend and you can't make it to one of our events, or there isn't one quite close to you, next week the products will be going out to more than 130 locations statewide.
- 43:15Speaker 4: Now selection will vary at the 130 locations, so if you're looking for something in particular, you can always find OHLQcom and look at the maps.
- 43:25Speaker 4: All the maps will be live.
- 43:27Speaker 4: You'll see everything as it arrives.
- 43:28Speaker 4: But if you want to find every single thing in one place, you're encouraged to come see us for Irish Cascand Craft this weekend, yes, and the.
- 43:45Speaker 3: So talk about also a little bit.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Now let's just go one step further.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Talk about the single barrels that Ohio releases throughout the whole year and then also talk about this year.
- 44:03Speaker 3: I mean so two years ago we had our first single barrel Saturday, and then this year we had a single barrel Saturday with this awesome special Thursday release, which I thought was done fantastically Okay.
- 44:20Speaker 3: For what it?
- 44:21Speaker 3: What?
- 44:22Speaker 3: Not knowing about really what was going to happen, but kind of knowing what was going to happen because you know the, the, there's what, would you say.
- 44:31Speaker 3: It's a puzzle and it's easy to put together sometimes what, what's happening, based off of what gets distributed through lotteries and what's already been distributed and knowing what usually gets distributed and how it does and if it's missing it makes sense.
- 44:46Speaker 3: But talk about going forward this year.
- 44:49Speaker 3: I mean it's been such a success and people love it so much.
- 44:53Speaker 3: I mean we could end up being like um Ohio.
- 44:58Speaker 3: You could turn Ohio into like an what was it?
- 45:01Speaker 3: Nick and Nora's crazy adventure where they're running around looking for a band or what banks he did in New York where he had all of his stuff, and then they you know, and then they would just unveil it on a day and make it.
- 45:14Speaker 3: I mean, you guys just keep building this, all right.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Do you have more in store for us this year?
- 45:21Speaker 4: I mean so we have Irish casking grab.
- 45:23Speaker 4: That's new.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Well, that's, that's awesome.
- 45:25Speaker 3: That's that's here I'm.
- 45:27Speaker 3: I'm ready for that, but it's so.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I.
- 45:31Speaker 4: So I gosh what.
- 45:33Speaker 4: What are we going to do this year?
- 45:35Speaker 4: Cause we've done liquidation, we've done whiskey gold rush, remember that one.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean for God's sakes um.
- 45:42Speaker 3: People got like multiple bottles and I signed up at like 14 and got none.
- 45:47Speaker 3: No no, no, but they got multiple bottles based off of having grandma, grandpa, their, their children and their wives, and yes, right, and then I got one, everybody got one, but I'm saying they, they were, you know each store and then for some reason, I ended up with I have like the most unlucky person so far, but I'm hoping that I get the luck of the Irish going forward.
- 46:15Speaker 4: Well, for for whiskey gold rush I think we had over a hundred locations and each location had the same number of winners and so you could only win one.
- 46:25Speaker 4: So once her name was pulled, you know wasn't going to be pulled again, but if you only entered in you know the area where you and all of your whiskey loving friends also shop your chances were way smaller than in some other.
- 46:44Speaker 4: Like if you were willing to drive a little bit, your chances increased quite a bit.
- 46:51Speaker 3: Oh, 13 different.
- 46:52Speaker 3: I signed up at 13 different stores and whiskey he had his force out.
- 47:01Speaker 3: He actually had his whole family like touring those with a lot of those and I think he was at.
- 47:06Speaker 3: But the all of the 13 liquor stores that I was signed up at, his family I think it was a total of eight people had purchased, had gotten it and done it, and I was a part of that too, at those eight stores also that he had visited and they all won.
- 47:23Speaker 3: I think he, they all won.
- 47:28Speaker 3: But I guess I know they did.
- 47:30Speaker 3: I mean no, no, no, no, no, no, no rigging.
- 47:35Speaker 3: I am unlucky, that's just it.
- 47:38Speaker 3: I'm just unlucky, he's lucky.
- 47:42Speaker 3: Well, and online ones, but yeah but you got to keep entering because that that's what could change, right, did you?
- 47:50Speaker 4: notice when you went into those stores to get your ticket for whiskey gold rush what was?
- 47:56Speaker 4: Waiting.
- 47:57Speaker 4: What did you do there?
- 47:58Speaker 3: Another single barrel, another single barrel yes.
- 48:02Speaker 4: So it was actually it was kind of like a almost a mini single barrel Saturday and a whole bunch of limited release whiskey.
- 48:07Speaker 4: So even if you weren't a winner the whiskey gold rush lottery, hopefully you were a winner of the finding a really cool single barrel or two there you go Right, but I will.
- 48:19Speaker 3: That that's awesome.
- 48:20Speaker 3: That's why that's how OHLQ Ohio liquor is like working with the bourbon people Get you, they get if you don't.
- 48:28Speaker 3: If you don't get that, you get something.
- 48:31Speaker 3: And that's one thing that I've always known about it.
- 48:34Speaker 3: You just let it.
- 48:34Speaker 3: All you have to do is look for it and get what you can get because everybody else is getting something to and just let it kind of come to you and if, as long as you're participating and having fun, those, those bottles you're searching for will always, eventually they seem to show up.
- 48:53Speaker 3: And and, like I said, I might not have done the gold OHLQ gold rush, but the single barrel Saturday I was able to get a, was able to get a full proof.
- 49:04Speaker 3: I was very happy with the whole way of how you guys go about it, but it just seems like, unlike any other state, it's kind of like you guys are throwing the party and we all get to participate, even down to the you know, the state lottery.
- 49:24Speaker 3: You might not win those, those bottles, but at the same time you can't deny it's not fair, it's fair.
- 49:32Speaker 3: So that's, that's all you want from this.
- 49:36Speaker 3: You know it's like all the other, all the other states.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Either you're going to have to pay $8,000 for that bottle that you're going to have on the website that someone wins on the lottery for $129, you know because?
- 49:49Speaker 4: that's.
- 49:49Speaker 3: MSRP.
- 49:50Speaker 3: You know, I went to Florida and I was just like I was like in this museum of the most awesome bourbons ever.
- 49:57Speaker 3: But you know, a Pappy 23 was $8,900 at the liquor store.
- 50:02Speaker 3: That's the difference between a control state and a state where you can do what you want as a liquor store owner.
- 50:10Speaker 3: So it's very it's a great time to be in the state of Ohio.
- 50:16Speaker 5: I live in a land of those museums.
- 50:19Speaker 6: South.
- 50:19Speaker 5: Carolina.
- 50:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 50:21Speaker 6: But, that's a good point, for what we're talking about with the Irish whiskey is that the price point of most of this stuff is really good and you know, we, we we see different bottles out there that range anywhere in bourbon from, you know, $20 up to 150, but it seems like in the last year or two that most of the bourbons have gotten.
- 50:42Speaker 6: If they're really good bottles are hard to get there.
- 50:44Speaker 6: They've gone up quite a bit, but a lot of these are really really affordable for somebody to want to get into trying Irish whiskey and and all that I think that they bring, even in the single barrels where the Whistler was 69 to 74.
- 51:02Speaker 6: There's some great price points for this stuff.
- 51:05Speaker 6: So the Ohio liquor department has done a good job of finding things that are not only great but affordable too, because people are starting to watch their money and not spend as much as they may be did in the last year or two.
- 51:20Speaker 5: There's some great value for the money.
- 51:22Speaker 5: Most definitely, and also to this, this Irish whiskey has definitely got some really great flavors.
- 51:31Speaker 5: I mean a lot to me.
- 51:33Speaker 5: Irish whiskey has really got some really good fruity flavors, every bit of us really fruity tasting and maybe just a little bit floral sometimes.
- 51:45Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, so that when you see, this is like all the things I've learned, because one thing I've never worked before for a distillery that made Irish whiskey.
- 51:57Speaker 4: So I am like fish out of water here.
- 52:00Speaker 4: I'm like wait, how do you, how do you you?
- 52:03Speaker 4: know, so when you see, a single grain.
- 52:04Speaker 4: You Π Ты بال szool.
- 52:05Speaker 4: It doesn't mean they used a single grain like how we all see that.
- 52:11Speaker 4: It means it's whiskey made it a single distillery.
- 52:16Speaker 4: It could use multiple grains, but it had to be 100% from the same distillery.
- 52:21Speaker 4: Single grain, single pot, still Same distillery means the distillery, not the suckled distilleries, and it's that was hard to get my head around.
- 52:31Speaker 3: Yeah, and the same thing.
- 52:32Speaker 3: It's the same thing with Scotch also, the one you start to single malts and whatever.
- 52:36Speaker 3: And it's based off of the and the reason why that that exists is because blenders like Johnny Walker and Dewar's and all the blenders out there when they were always taking from the.
- 52:53Speaker 3: It's that still hasn't been a big thing yet.
- 52:56Speaker 3: Where you're taking somebody who's out there, make it doing blends I think the Schmere does it a little bit but when you take different distilleries, distillate and you start blending them together to make what you want similar to what Johnny Walker does with Scotch when they're taking the best of the best from the different distilleries, you know.
- 53:19Speaker 3: And so a final question I got I have for you.
- 53:23Speaker 3: I was talking to Martin Duffy.
- 53:25Speaker 3: He worked in the Irish whiskey industry and he talks about that.
- 53:35Speaker 3: How it works in Ireland is that there's like three major brands that distill all the whiskey and then people purchase from them and then blend them.
- 53:49Speaker 3: You know it's like it would be like taking here with MGP but but there's three major blends in Ireland and the people that get from those blends you know make those blends aren't getting the best barrels from the distillery, because those distilleries use the best barrels for them.
- 54:09Speaker 4: So marketing story from the company that owns it.
- 54:13Speaker 4: I tell that story if I read that.
- 54:16Speaker 3: Yes, but what he said he's been in it.
- 54:19Speaker 3: I mean he's been in it.
- 54:20Speaker 3: He says but I was to talk about how that some of what we're doing here is that these people are the craft distilleries in Ireland that have popped up Not they're not forever and they're producing really good pots, still similar to, like a spirit of French lick or some of these smaller craft distillers making great whiskey and then really wanted to, wanting to market into America, and this is something that they're just enjoying, completely right.
- 54:55Speaker 4: Absolutely so.
- 54:57Speaker 4: You do have some of the Irish distilleries are at least sourcing and finishing different areas.
- 55:07Speaker 4: First, ireland itself is it's like Ohio.
- 55:12Speaker 4: You can drive the whole thing.
- 55:13Speaker 4: I mean, it's so small and within a decade it went from like 10 distilleries to over 40.
- 55:22Speaker 4: It's very much like what craft distilling has done in the US.
- 55:26Speaker 4: When you think back to you know, 15 years ago there were like less than 200 distilleries in America and today there's like 1000 and some it really has exploded.
- 55:36Speaker 4: So you have so much diversity in that you have some small producers that are distilling, you have some that are sourcing the distillate, finishing and the whole.
- 55:49Speaker 4: I would encourage anybody who has questions about it to come to these events and talk to some of our bonders that are part of this.
- 55:55Speaker 4: Louise from JJ Corey actually ages the whiskey on her own property.
- 56:02Speaker 4: She has a barn and cows and it's.
- 56:05Speaker 4: You know it's really amazing.
- 56:09Speaker 4: Look online, go to JJ Corey.
- 56:11Speaker 4: She's fantastic.
- 56:13Speaker 4: How she does things is fantastic.
- 56:16Speaker 4: But she will talk about, you know, the market for sourcing these different barrels and the competition for, like, the really special barrel that came from this bodega.
- 56:25Speaker 4: That's going on over.
- 56:26Speaker 4: You know it's, it's.
- 56:27Speaker 4: There's so much that goes into it.
- 56:30Speaker 4: There's so much difference in the climate, even on what's a relatively small island, and where you're aging it and how you're aging it.
- 56:39Speaker 4: You're going to find so much diversity.

- 1:02:45Speaker 6: on the barrel.
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: What was on the barrel?
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: There's a box came in this big to the, to the, to the bar, and it's got a big box.
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: It's a sign that goes on the barrel from Elijah Craig.
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: Talk says something about the barrel thing.
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: Really she goes, but I didn't get any barrel and no, it's at the distribution center and the bear I.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: I'm going to pick it up from the agency when it hits the agency.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: I got to go down there and pay the money and then we'll go from there.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: I'll figure out the when with her workout.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: I know you're in Florida.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: I'm going to be that week in the first week in March or the second weekend in March there, but we'll set up a time for everybody to come pick up their bottles.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: So it was.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: I think these are going to be spectacular and we've got another barrel pick coming.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: We need to all talk about what we should do with this next barrel pick, because we're going to be offered multiple barrels and I'm thinking that we might want to grab them while we can, but we'll see.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: So, anyways, anything else you guys got to add, it's so great, ct.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: I mean to have you right there.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: You know what I mean with electricity.
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: I can't believe what's behind you.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: You consistently.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: So right now you've gone, so you're not facing the window.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: The window is to your left.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Yeah your left my yeah so, but that's just like damn.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: I just like all you do, I swear to God.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: You work.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: You sometimes you spend time with your, with your family.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: You then go down to Kentucky and then, other than that, you just build more and more shelves.
- 1:04:59Speaker 6: I need more rooms because I'm out of rooms.
- 1:05:01Speaker 6: I mean I'm going to have to figure something out.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I understand what you go through.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: I mean, it's to my left, it's to my right and I keep putting more shelves up and I'm like I'm gonna have to.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: My glassware is on one shelf and I'm gonna have to start eliminating.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: I'm not gonna have any place for the glassware anymore.
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: Yeah, and it's like the Irish whiskey.
- 1:05:23Speaker 6: This is some of it, but I don't have anywhere for the Irish whiskey.
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: It's been sitting here on the table because Trump worked up to it all.
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: That's definitely be getting some of this weekend because, holy crap, there's some good bottles.
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: That boo, that white bottle oh my god.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: But just so you know, orange one the blue one.
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: They're all fantastic.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: Well, we're gonna be tasting them with the people who are responsible for making it.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: That's gonna be pretty fucking phenomenal.
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: Well, that's like when.
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: I drank with Martin there at the event.
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: He started with the white one and my comment at the end of it was like my god, are we going up or down then?
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: Because this is like so good he's like, but we're going up and it did get better, but I really enjoyed that.
- 1:06:09Speaker 6: So there's, I think there's gonna be so much.
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: I hope people go out and try it, because I think they're gonna find some things that they never really thought existed.
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: Walker, the struggle is real.
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: I'm going to have to build a cabin with a seller in Kentucky when I retire.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: Buy a big enough seller that we all can just put it in there and we'll just call it a.
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: Walker.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: Do you know how many?
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: bottle scammers.
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: I block from our channel.
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: How are they available.
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: So anybody who's watching, who understands bottle scams.
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: Chris C, you're absolutely right.
- 1:07:11Speaker 6: If you're looking, he's got a few Alright where is he?
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: I've got a.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: Oh, that's new bourb, new bourbon.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: Let's go here that menu menu bourbon.
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: Alright, blocked, blocked.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: If I don't, I can't delete him, though.
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: He's, so block him, though I can't, andrew, I agree, let's drink, andrew.
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: Uh, let's drink.
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: He disappeared.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I deleted him.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: I deleted the bastard.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: It's like I normally block him and then delete their comments so that they can't get on, but it's endless.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: Chris is the one who's got the unicorns, it's like how does he have the OHLQ bottles that are being released tomorrow and Saturday?
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: Right, yeah, I love it when they do that Like.
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: I'll be down at O'Loadville and have literally taken the first drink out of a barrel and decide, okay, I want to bottle that so immediately if you want that bottle you can get it for you and I'm like the hell you can.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: So just let just uh, christy, uh, march I believe it's March 8th Friday, march 8th, we're gonna be at uh Allen's place doing a barrel pick and you're invited, if you want to come down.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: I've been meaning to invite you, but I just invited you on the podcast.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: but, uh, if you want to come down for the pick, I would love for you to taste some of the stuff that we're gonna be picking from and uh, I know that you and Allen do distillers talk, so it would make sense what time it's 11am on that Friday and we're gonna do 11am and figure we're done by one, grab lunch and then we're gonna head up to, I believe, or check out Starlight and then have dinner at Amore.
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: That's the goal.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: Walker was right on that.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: Walker's gonna be there.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: Walker's coming, I believe.
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: Andrew and uh Barrelhead's coming, uh, and then we also have uh Jamie Jacobs and then also, uh Spanky should be there.
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: so that should be a nice pick, bobby, and Myrtle Beach yeah.
- 1:09:49Speaker 6: I'll be on a beach drinking plenty of other shit.
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: You gonna bring some Irish whiskey down to your beach.
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: Nope, I don't bring whiskey or bourbon to the beach, I just get it there.
- 1:10:02Speaker 6: What beach?
- 1:10:05Speaker 6: Uh, the uh, annemarie Island, that's.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: Florida.
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: You can pick up some pretty good bottles down in Florida, I mean.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: What?
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: Yeah, for $8,000.
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: No, not always.
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: No, you're going to the wrong places.
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: I mean there's some places, there's some wrong places?
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: No, there's not.
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: Oh Florida, when it comes to bourbon, they don't make it, and their selection is either they cost too much.
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: Or I'm telling you I know I drive down there with my brothers when we go down to Daytona, going down there to the Turkey Rod Run.
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: She has.
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: Uh, okay, uh, christy, yeah, check it out.
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: I think what we should finish up at we're going to try and do at Amore, which is like 20 minutes from uh Louisville, you know, for dinner.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: But if it's in the evening that's fine, but if you have to skip that but I was going to uh contact my favorite chef, uh, oh, my god, why am I having a mental block at Amore?
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: Who, al Al?
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: Popsidero um, and tell him that we're going to be coming.
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: I'm going to bring a group, like usual.
- 1:11:33Speaker 6: Well, I got to jump off here, guys, so I don't know if you got anything else you need to go through, but I got to move.
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: Yeah, well, let's end it okay, I got to jump too, so, um well, uh, we won't shut off Facebook, but we're going to end the main podcast.
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: Uh, remember, everybody, we did the whole thing.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: So good bourbon equals good time.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: Good Irish whiskey and good friends equals good times.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: And remember, drink responsibly.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: Don't drink and drive, and make sure you live your life dangerously.
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: Little Stevo will take us out.
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: Hey, we got a first patron, james Jacob just signed up.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: I saw Jamie had signed.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: He mentioned he did.
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: Oh, show me the way to the next whiskey bar.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: Oh don't ask why, oh don't ask why.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: Show me the way to the next whiskey bar, oh don't ask why.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: Oh don't ask why, oh don't ask why, oh don't ask why.
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: I tell you, I tell you, we must die.
