Transcript
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Daily Rider, where we share a lesson each day to help you cultivate the habits for creative success.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Everyone who has ever planted anything knows that you can't just throw seeds on the ground.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: You have to prepare the soil.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Otherwise, the soil won't be ready to receive the seeds.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: The seeds will die, and all the effort and future potential will have been wasted.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Your creative mind works the same way.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: It can't just receive ideas and then cause those ideas to sprout.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Your mind has to be prepared.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: So, how do you till the ground, so to speak?
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: How do you prepare your mind not only to receive ideas, but also to create an environment for those ideas to grow and then flourish?
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Well, there's perhaps many answers to that question, but the most important one is getting into an environment that encourages growth and creativity.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Join a mastermind, create a community, go out with some positive and creative people for coffee.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Start a club, make social media posts about creative ideas and then ask for feedback.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Write blog posts and make videos and engage those people who respond by commenting and interacting with them.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: You know, it's impossible to prepare the soil of your mind all alone.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: It's essential to be in an environment that encourages new ideas and creative thinking.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: When you consistently do this, the seeds of great ideas and effective writing will have an opportunity to grow into something meaningful.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: You can't just throw the seeds on the ground.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: You've got to prepare your mind.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: You've got to till the soil, so to speak.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: So as you do that, don't forget that even if you're an introverted writer, you've got to be around other people who can help you do that.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: So don't shy away from those relationships.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: Ask somebody out for coffee, engage in a mastermind, make social media posts and engage with people.
